Luckbox Larry plays a stacked deck. Game is beatable but Luckbox will get all in preflop, be dominated or actually flip over 93off or other rags, 75-80% chance he will spike his 3-6 outer or catch 4 flush or straight cards on the board. It happens often enough it becomes very noticeable that the deck is stacked in his favor. When you need a miracle card you'll get it about 5-10% of the time, Larry will get his 75-80% of the time.

Keeps crashing!. This is a simple way to practice poker decision making but it crashes every few minutes. Please update with bug fixes!

Don’t design a poker game if you don’t know how to play. Don’t design a poker game if you don’t even know the rules of the game. This is not how poker is played

Statistically Illogical. As others have said, the game "cheats". It makes ridiculous calls with the worst hands but manages to pull out a win far more often than statistically reasonable. The opponent also goes on streaks of having incredible hands, and never seems to call when I have a great starting hand. There's no logic to the opponent's thought process. Anyway, it's good for a distraction when waiting around, but will frustrate the crap out of you if you take it seriously.

Poker. I think it's a fun game. Sometimes the CPU is stupid. The best Texas holdem game I have ever played is mega online poker it's the funnest game I have, and got it for free. Mega online poker is great because u play normal people, and if u run out of chips u get 500 chips when u run out.

Garbage App. Garbage. Doesn’t connect heads up via Bluetooth

Crashes constantly, even after I paid the $1.99. How do I get a refund? It’s pretty much unplayable vs friends (both Bluetooth and Online crash constantly)

Best App I own. I find it funny that so many people complain that the computer cheats. I think the far more likely scenario is that these guys have done an excellent job of building a surprisingly intelligent AI bot. It is entirely possible to beat the computer, but as soon as I stop paying attention and play sloppy, or get impatient, I loose. Wow. That's just not what people are used to when playing a computer. The user interface is striking, and takes full advantage of the touch screen. I can play with one hand while petting my cat with the other. The upgrade to the payed version has been fun and well worth the money, too. The 'personalities' really are different, and learning them helps win. Definitely among the best apps!

Lame lame lame. App locks up fairly often. When all in, a bug rushes the play and hides everything about the flop except the suit and sometimes error runs into the next couple hands. When playing the 100-point rounds, computer bets 25-75 points right off the deal - usually a shorter game than standard 25-point rounds. One extra star for the cute turtle.

Loaded deck???. I agree with Mozart's son that this is a very fun, addictive game ... but ... the computer does seem to, very frequently, get just what it needs to win. Originally I thought Mozart was just a poor loser but now I'm one too.

Could be nice, but won't buy it. Great interface but obviously from the majority of the reviews and my experience the game needs to be fixed before it can give any continued fun. You quickly see the computer receive exactly what he needs to bail himself out after being behind on the flop and he calls your all-in. I know people that play like the computer does, and let me tell you, they are out of the game fast 80-90% of the time, not the victor 60%. Fix it and I will be first in line to buy.

Must have. A neat tool for seeing lots of starting hands and practicing what to play and how to bluff. I've played 500 games against Luckbox Larry AI and am at 52%. Sorry to brag but for everybody complaining that AI cheats, remember this is heads up it's more about betting into the opponent and being unpredictable than starting hands. Against nine other people you should usually fold but not against one. Memorize the odds, pump it or dump it. He often folds when I re-raise because he bluffs a lot.

Bluetooth and invite a friend option work. Haven’t played the computer, but the Bluetooth and invite a friend option work really well. One of you have to upgrade, which is annoying, but for $1.99 it’s worth it if you have someone you want to play with.

Tony the Tiger. I consider myself to be a reasonably good Texas Hold 'Em poker player and so was understandably skeptical as to how satisfying the experience would be. I must say that after playing some 30+ heads-up games at the highest difficulty level offered in the free version, I have found the play against the computer to be fun and interesting, with a 60%+ win percentage in my favor. I have yet to see the computer win a hand in a manner that I thought was unfair in any way. To the contrary and much to my pleasant surprise, I have found the computer to unpredictably switch from tight play to loose play, and from bluffing to slow-playing a monster hand. I am looking forward to live heads-up play with some of my friends and to the multi-player version. Definitely recommend this app and feel like it deserves a better overall rating than the cumulative reviews to date reflect ... 4-stars for me!

Great but.... You guys need to make the chip count selector a window where the users can enter amounts... Up to ten if not hundreds of millions and please make the betting wheel more fluid and keeping to available chips on the board so we can bet more in lower increments at higher bets. Please

Hold 'em. Clean...Fun...I hate when it tries to bluff me...I can't bluff he/her...passes the time when I am in line, at the Doctor or Waiting for the dryer to get done.....visually clean... I would only add cheers when you win a big hand ! !

Locks up& crashes. Every time I play game it locks up

Great game!. This is an addictive heads-up game with a whole ton of options. I started with the free version but upgraded quickly to get the additional features - totally worth 1.99. Gameplay is fast and exciting, and its clear the developers have thought things through well. Good for training or just fun!

needs work. I'd like to say that I found the game play very fair and the computer seemed to play with a decent strategy. I enjoyed playing but the thing kept crashing over and over, often in the middle of a hand. Sometimes it let me resume the game, most times not when I restarted. Finally it crashed hard and froze my phone for a while so I deleted it. I will check back for updates.

Decent. I won't say the game cheats but I will say I've gotten extremely unlucky. Far too many times I'll have the computer dominated and he'll hit his 3-outer. Many times over I'll have the computer in a 60/40 situation and he'll hit one of his cards. I know this happens in live play as well but not quite so often. I once had the computer down to 2 chips in a 250-starting chip game. I put him all-in every time and he called every time. He actually came back and won. I admit I wasn't playing strategic at that point, but from him to double up from 2 to 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, and the victory is rediculous. That's 8 games straight...

Nice - but.... The app has a great, simple interface making gameplay slick. But... the A.I. program is not built well. The A.I will fold, in early hands, if you bet anything on any hand, good or not, until it reaches a certain point. Then it calculates probability of a win based on undealt cards, not just on its hold cards. Example (or evidence) I've played 615 hands and on four occasions I have seen it go all in with a 7,2 off suit and have been beaten when I've had hold cards that were much stronger. Many other similar examples to base my evaluation on. It will do some odd random bets occasionally, programmed bluffs sometimes. It also has a different betting algorithm for 100 chip games but outcomes are usually the same. It doesn't seem to 'know' what you are holding, but knowing what 'its' going to get is CHEATING. Do not use this program to learn or practice Hold'em, it is not realistic gameplay.

Can't Beat That Price!!. Lovin the update! Keep up the good work. This game is highly addicting and will have you hooked. If you are remotely interested in poker or a seasoned vet grab this app...although it does seem like the A.I. cheats. Anytime you bet money he'll fold if you have better cards but if you bet money and he doesn't fold he'll always win. So if you bet money and he does also just fold cuz he'll have better cards.

Poor AI. Others are saying the game cheats. I don't think so, people seem to say this about all poker games. But it does play very poorly. I'm winning about 70% of matches, over the past 50 or so, against the AIs from the highest difficulty (final 4). In particular they seem to go nuts on the river with marginal hands when deep stacked. Don't try to bluff much, just value bet them relentlessly and wait for them to go nuts.

Love it but.... Love the app, sound effects, etc.. The pop ups bug bad since I want to play this 2 player with my 12 yr old. Will buy the app if you come up with one without those characters, it is a distraction not needed in my opinion based on how cool the play time is-

Computer started "cheating". After about 100 games or so of 50/50 win/loss, the computer has started getting miraculous hands and somehow getting that needed card on the river 75% of the time. And whenever I get a face card, it's almost always "balanced out" with a 2, also about 75% of the time. Also weird how during Showdown, you don't get to see the computer's hand if he bets and you win. The "raise bet" spinner is too sensitive; constantly overspins or underspins.

AI Folds Constantly!!. At first I loved this game, the UI is beautiful.. However, as others have mentioned... THE AI FOLDS EVERYTIME you bet more than 10 chips!! The dev who commented is wrong, there is no pattern or sign of respect, if you bet more than 10 chips (I'm being generous with that number, it's usually less) the AI will simply fold regardless... Beyond frustrating, not worth even considering for now.

Fun. A great poker game and very addicting. That being said, I've noticed several time the computer winning with a hand that according to the rules of poker, my hand should of beaten. Someone else mentioned the computer also folding when ever you get a good hand, I've as well experienced that frequently. Other than that, it's fun and passes the time I spend on the bus.

PP. Are the games rigged? Feels like the orher side knows what cards u have & wins so many times so closely: with just 1 card higher, or a immediate higher pair 88 vs 99, or a smaller trips like 222 when u have a top pair like AA or a straight when u have trips or have so many ridiculous straights & full houses (at least 8-10 times each games). Also notice that the game keeps u at around ~60% win rate & looks like thats the % people convert to paid users. Never seen such repeated odds. Its mathematically impossible! I definitely think the game is obviously & terribly rigged :( Wish it wasnt... esp since it has good simple clean smooth graphics :(

Bitter Sweet. I agree the program appears to favor the phone. That gets old quickly. I do not like the betting wheel either. It usually keeps spinning and I spend a lot of time just trying to place my bet. I do appreciate the fact that it's free. It's the only app I could find that plays a game against the phone where you don't have to play live. Not everyone has that kind of time and most apps make you play live. I'm adding to this review a few months later here. I still say that the opponent gets lucky on the river more times than me. Gets old and frustrating.

Holdem. Why does the player Bec get much better cards than than the other 2 players ?The game appears to be fixed. If so this App stinks. The only thing this game tedious you is to never play Texas hold them because the other players get such better cards it’s not even worth trying

Great. Doesn't cheat. Awesome AI in the second and third groups of players. Chk raises, bluffs, slowplays.. Prob the best AI around. If you aren't a decent player, u will prob have trouble with the second two groups of players.

Mediocre. Can't find a person online and Bluetooth doesn't work. Can't even play single players . By the way I have a 4s so it's the software not my device.

Computer does not fold. Decent app but when playing the computer it absolutely does not fold no matter how much you bet or what it has for a hand.

Cool app, but...... Cool app, play it everyday. It bugs out on final hands sometimes and just throws cards without showing what they are. You don't know if you've won or lost until the hand is over. Ah well for free it ain't bad. I wouldn't buy it if it's that buggy though.

Very Nice, But Way Too Lucky. This is a really nice implementation with a great UI and an excellent single player mode. I do have to admit, however, that the AI engine flops a few too many "just what I need" cards for itself to chalk it completely up to chance.

Like it.. It's taught me how to play & I'm enjoying it. Good game! It would be nice at the end to have the two hand titles (flush, high card, etc) stay displayed with "you won" or "you lost". Happens so quickly & the explanation goes away. I can't tell what happened until studying the cards. Other than that, well done!

Multiplayer locks up. We used to be able to play Bluetooth multiplayer and even though it froze some, we could still get a decent length game going. But now, it locks up on the other iPhones screen (whoever connected) and shows no cards and will not work until force quit. This has always been a problem but it now makes it impossible as this happens after only one hand every time. This needs to be fixed.

Nice & Free. ...just the way I like em! It works. It's simple. Sometimes it completely defies the odd when it beats you, like when I had a flush and the cmptr had a royal flush. Not sure what the odds of that are, but I'm sure it's ridiculous. And it will always fold right off the bat if you are dealt a pair of aces. I must look excited and it sees me, right? It's free. I'll try a few others before I decide if I'm keeping.

Dealer. Any body who believes the deal is honest, please call me I can give a good price on the Brooklyn bridge! Besides the computer getting much better cards, the computer wins too many all ins on the river card. The computer can pick any card from the 44 cards left in the deal. I do not believe the deal is honest, after playing thousands of hands.

Good fun. The A.I. plays awful tight when starting with 25 chips but rather enjoyable. Love the sound effects but wish the cards would draw slower when all in. It happens so fast I can't process everything.

From Developer. I'm one of the developers of the app. Thanks to all the 1000s enjoying the game! For the couple reviews by people thinking it awarded a pot wrong, if you see what you believe is an incorrect award, please take a screenshot (press the Front/Home and Power buttons at the same time.) Then contact support so you can send the image and we can identify the issue. However, our professional Poker player testers haven't seen this problem occur; so until we see it, I think in some cases it could be unfamiliarity with poker rules. And for the other couple reviews saying it folds when you have a big hand...that's poker and it happens sometimes :) The opponent is smart: if you bet and it doesn't have a good hand, the smart move is to fold. Isn't that the play you'd make if you have lousy cards and the AI bets big?

At first I liked, then after playing it a little it became frustrating.. When you play against the app it folds when it gets the first 2 cards or if you make a bet 9 out of 10 times it folds or after all 5 cards are dealt & no additional bets are mad it folds. Know smart person would do that. It doesn't cost anything to see the players hands. I also hate that when you win the 100 chip bonus, the app has rediculisly high bids on poor hands. I have no desire to buy the better version due to the issues with this one. By the way I would rate this 1 * if I could but this will not let me change it.

2 player wont work. I turned on bluetooth and they wanted one of us to purchase a $1.99 upgrade to play together so i purchased it and it still does NOT work! I want my money back! Even after trying to connect on game center, it still wont work! I am furious.

Good game. For am IPhone game, I think it's great. I've won all the games except two. Sure sometimes the computer has the advantage but it can be beaten and it makes it more of a challenge.

Review Of App. The app is impressively well crafted, being the only of its kind in the App Store. Enjoyed it's multiplayer option and different playing styles of each AI. Only complaint is that the AI is way too susceptible for exploitation by good players. Overall: Enjoyable app for hold'em lovers!

Could be better for poker newbies. I'll admit it: I'm new to poker, so was looking for an app that would help me learn to fundamentals of the game. This app is it! While I found the how-to-win information useful, and the graphics nice, I had no idea what was happening while I was playing! This app is probably better suited to more seasoned players.

Rigged. This app is rigged and not recommended for people interested in learning Texas Holdem , I have played this game for a while and noticed patterns. It seems that the most unlikely of situations when it comes to Texas Holdem seem to happen fairly frequently in this game. My warning is that this is a programmed game and in no way is the display of cards random. Not a good representation of what Texas Holdem is.

Ai is not very good. The AI doesn't play very well. If you raise a large amount, most the time the AI will fold.

Fun!!. Pretty good ap! Opponent is just challenging enough to keep you hooked (but then I'm no poker expert so that's really a subjective observation). It would be nice to have more than 25 chips per game but the "bonus" games with 100 are a nice touch. Overall worth the download....I mean what the hell, it's free!

Great Poker App!. This app is great! Quality graphics, decent AI, and seamless UI. Would be a 5 star rating but since my wife and I purchased the the paid version the Bluetooth no longer connects. May not be related but takes away some of the fun. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Qwerty. Great game, but the AI folds too often. You bet, he bails! 25 chips is not enough, but keeps you playing game after game.

Totally addicting but..... This game is my fav app on my iPod and it's really addicting and fun. The only thing is that it glitches often. One time the oponent got a pair of two aces of spade. Kinda weird....

Love It. I play every night in bed. A few hands relaxes me before I fall asleep. I just wish the light version came with more chips because I'm too cheap to upgrade. :)

Could be GREAT if it didn't crash. Great gameplay and it moves quickly, but it also crashes frequently in two player wireless mode. Would be a great game worthy of paying for if not for that.

Master of All Things Struck. Fun and free. A good app. I'll play for a little dose of quick fun, and then come back to it later. I tried another free hold 'em app; it was deleted immediately. This one is nice.

Heads up above the rest. Love this app. Most used, and easy to play for extended period, and with another person. Great!

New Version, No Good. Agree with the other reviewer. Seems the new version is just made to make it painful enough that you'll upgrade. You can't continue to play after a win or loss without going back to the main menu. When you do, you get nailed with ads.

Waste of time. After playing this app for a good amount of time you'll come to the same conclusion. The random streaks of god power the AI gets will make you wanna throw your phone. You get the streaks too and will laugh.. Maybe the designers should play heads up before they design a game.

Nice card app. Wish it gave you more $$ to play with, but you get bonus rounds and stuff, nice clean app to waste some time with.

Beyond Awful. Honestly, 9 times out of 10, if you're all in, the computer will be way behind and then spike the one card in the deck that can win for them on the river. And I think the game may be purposefully programmer that way. Just not a fun game at all. Strong, strong, strong recommendation to avoid.

Computer cheats. I noticed about 1/4 of my winning hands are considered lost even though i had clearly won. I also noticed every time I'd get an excellent hand, the computer folds right away. I rarely got to play it out.

A very good game.. I like how you interact with the game and the playing surface while playing. I don't think I have played another like it. The play seems fair.

Ok, but not a good learning tool.. The whole point of a game like this is to learn enough so you don't get creamed on a live game. After playing this for >700 matches, it sure does seem this thing cheats. Aside from being frustrating, it teaches you the wrong betting habits.

Almost a good buy. Game is entertaining and easy to use. Ironic that when playing on one player the computer seems to always catch the winning card with a poor hand. Feels unrealistic.

NEEDS WORK. Previous reviews are useful... Question: when it comes down to the river and the opponent calls, aren't they supposed to show their hand?? That's the only thing that really bothers me--when I win and they DIDN'T fold, how come it doesn't show what they had? This why I'm deleting this app.

Fun quickly fades..... When the computer keeps winning on 5th street. Too often you have the best hand at the start of an all in but the computer will get the pair, straight or flush it needs to beat you. The game doesn't stay fun for long.

Love the Achievements. Great App, enough options to keep it from getting stale, and I love the small achievements for winning with various hands.

Bad dealer. Great, fun game but the dealer folds everytime you get a good hand or when you bet. And the games are really short because you start with only 25 chips.

The game cheats. Obviously, you will never win every hand. But the computer hits more cards on a more consistent basis than is actually possible. Additionally, if you have the better pocket the computer will never call a bet so all you can really do is steal the blinds. Horrendous excuse for a poker game.

Not bad. Just wish u could only view the cards of the person who's turn it is. Easy to cheat by checking out your buddies cards when it's your turn. But game is ok.

Great app. Good game but how about adding some features. Like showing your bluff?
