The one I come back to..... I keep trying other quake apps when the come out, just to see if anyone can make quake app function better in some way, but they never do. I have used this app for about three years or maybe longer, and it is always the one I keep installed when I delete the others. This one just works for me on my iPad 4. There are one or two others that I like, but things like the satellite imagery not rendering properly or quickly enough when I zoom in and out are just not problems that I ever have with THIS app. So, this one is the keeper for me!

Terrific app for keeping tabs on earthquake activity. The developer of QuakeWatch has put together a terrific app that pulls in all the features needed, and then some, for keeping up with earthquakes around the world. Filters for distance, strength and location enable the users to select just the data desired. The GUI is outstanding! It is simple to use; the features are available with one click access; maps are clear and zoom capable; the extensive data set from US Geological Survey site is organized into a meaningful and manageable format. I am an earth science teacher and have found this app very functional as well as fun. It has brought to my finger tips a wealth of earthquake information for presenting virtually live info on earthquakes events anywhere in the world. The students love learning about the earthquake nearest our location as well as discovering the the most recent and strongest quake.

Just one problem with this app. Awesome application ..... I think most should have this specially the people near coastal areas..... Better to be safe then sorry ..... This app helped me to develope a more accurate way to predict large earthquakes etc !!!!! I also would like to see on this application the depth of the earthquakes on the list right now I have to open each earthquake to view the depth of the quake ... The one major problem is for ppl like me is metric I illiterate I would like to see the option in settings for the US measuring as well as metric....

Fantastic app. With relatives in Japan and living near several faults in SF Bay Area myself, this app is an essential. Sometimes scary until the relatives are reached, but comforting to see that the intensity and frequency are easing over time. For the question about Arkansas--Fracting is what is happening. Oil companies force water under pressure deep into the rock below to reach the oil and gas. It causes quakes, which they deny are linked. But the same thing happened in Basel, Switzerland, some years ago and in the Geysers Area, Cal. Last year. Some people think others are stupid.

Love this app!. First review for me, I just had to let others looking at getting this app know that it is really great. Clean, and easy to use and the update made it even better. Worth every cent. I use this app several times daily. Perhaps a link section to see fault lines, and other earthquake maps, like IRIS Seismic Monitor can be added in the future. Still, I'm really happy to have gotten this app.

could use tweeks. i’d like to be able to filter ‘depths’ of quakes like you can richter scale. that would allow a better view of the more dangerous shallow quakes of 20km or less, and where and when they occur.

Fabulous - Still!!! 🎉🎉👍. Still fabulous and the customer support is fabulous as well... I emailed about the USGS feed, it stopped working and I got a reply on the best way to fix the issue in a couple of hours! Great app and I've been using it for at lest 4 years. The best one that I've found! You can set up this app to see the data you want and filter what you don't. It has additional data that can be set, not just USGS. They also provide the links in the app to set up email/ test notifications. For EQ or Tsunami's. Highly recommended. I just wish the Pacific Rim wasn't split on the map-that's the most active area.

one of the best. Have used this app for over 5 years its accurate and not hard to navigate its my choice because I live in SanBernardino on top the san andereas fault

My go to earthquake app. I live in an earthquake prone area on the north coast of California. There was a hiccup recently with the USGS feeds, but the response of the developer corrected the issue. I have been using this app for several years, and I have tried others to track earthquakes. This app has been my go to app because it gives me the local coverage I want. Props to the developer for being responsive to issues. I like the pin colors that vary with magnitudes.👍

A must have if you live in an earthquake prone area. Living in So. California this application is an absolute must! I turn it on immediately when the earth starts shaking and get detailed info faster than any news channel can give you. Less than a minute after we had a big one on Easter Sunday I knew how far we were from the epicenter and how big the quake was - while my chandelier was still swinging... this app is on my first page since then. Thanks for creating such a great app!

Excellent coverage and customization. There is a lot in this app that is useful for those of us in earthquake regions. When I feel a quake I like to guess the magnitude and the fault based on my estimate of the distance between the P and S waves. It's a hobby I picked up by living near California's San Andreas fault and a bunch of faults in Southcentral Alaska. This app gets me answers more conveniently than Websites. I'm a bit mystified about the app's connection to the USGS earthquake notification system. It seems to me that if a quake is big enough to be concerned about then your dishes will be on the floor and you may not need an email notification.

Rated 5* before the update. This app is awesome! It you are interested in earthquakes this will give you all the info you want and more. And the new map is so great. Just tap the map to zoom in. This app deserves more than a five rating. The update now shows quakes under 2.5 which makes the list a lot longer so if any improvement is needed it would be the option to turn off the under 2.5 Best app for the money

Its A Good App. QuakeWatch is a good app. It works as advertised. My only real problem is there seems to be no way to contact the developer. When I go to the link to contact the developer all I get is a 404 error. Does that mean there's going to be no future updates?

Great app. Works well

The app has stopped updating. We're still getting sizable aftershocks post 7.1 earthquake in California, including a 5.5, and no mention of it in the app, despite refreshing it several times.

Once again a great update!!. Looks amazing on iPad!! Thanks👍😍👌 aloha. Love the fun facts best earthquake app in da world !!

Great but no Twitter integration?. Love this app but for some reason cannot share it on Twitter! Why not?

Works great every time!. I’ve had this app for ages and it works great every time. I just felt an earthquake, opened the app & it shows where, when & how strong. Thanks for making this app!

Super Great App. This is such a great App. So simple to use & customize. Latest info is posted rather quickly. Lots of great features. Best 0.99¢ I’ve ever spent.

Great Layout but very delayed & No Alert. I really love this app. It has the best and easiest layout of all the quake apps. It has a lot of information that's easy to access. However I just noticed recently that the information is delayed a lot of times, sometimes by hours and a few times it was more than a day. It didn't used to be like that. Please fix this issue. Also what would make this app a lot greater is if it had an alert that you can set for earthquakes happening around you. With a cool alert sound. The other thing that would be really cool is if the fault lines were added to the map. That would take a little time but it would be nice to just have the major ones on the map, at least in California. I would definitely like to delete my other earthquake apps, but they're the only one that alerts me with a voice that says "an earthquake has occurred!" And the other has a map of the faults. Would be nice to have it all in one app. If you could very soon, add an alert option at least, that would make this a 5 star rated app. I look forward to the next update.

Quake watch something happened 3 weeks ago and USGS is not working. Therefore I get no info on US.. Speaking from Anchorage Alaska, it's wonderful to have such quick access to information when you feel that random bump in the night, or the room starts shaking. Since most of the buildings are earthquake supported, the floors, especially in the larger buildings can vibrate with the heavy equipment rolling by. This app is especially helpful when we get that 4.0+ quake, and we feel the extra sway of the trusses! Love this app

Inaccuracies.. In accurate information and names of towns and regions names omission in the world map.

great eartquake app. After reading a bunch of reviews, I chose this quake app and I'm glad I did. Seems to have everything you could want. Even though it doesn't have push notifications it does include clear instructions re setting up earthquake notifications via email/SMS directly from the USGS, which is ideal since that's where the data is coming from anyway.

Fabulous App. This should be on everyone’s phone or tablet right beside their favorite weather app! I have been using this app for years, and it just keeps getting better. There is so much to learn from QuakeWatch. Real-time information always fascinates me. I highly recommend this excellent app.

No notification settings !!. I go to set up my notification settings for sound and such and it’s not in my notification settings at all !!! Very sad !!

QuackWatch = Excellent. Have had this app forever... I love how you can always see exactly how far from your hometown any quakes are occurring... The color readings make it possible at a quick glance to know how strong the quakes are.. The map of the world or just the US showing the quakes within a range that you have requested, ranging from 1.0 and on up... Excellent!

Outstanding EQ-related app. The app is a wonder! In terms of graphics, information presented, and user-friendly flexibility, an unconditional FIVE STARS. In clever, completely accessible ways, the app goes far beyond mere info lists: it is an indispensable tool for those who want or need to know the latest on world seismicity. Its personalization options bring all the rich, up-to-the-minute data home to the user. And it's an app for the world, not just the USA or a single region, using the now-familiar Google interface and techniques. To the developer: many thanks for your innovations, insights, and creativity!

It's ok. There are a few different options out there when it comes to earthquake monitoring apps, and based on what I'd read, I thought this was the best. However, after purchasing it I have a few misgivings with the biggest being that this app just loads the USGS website! I can do that myself, and save the money. Especially since it loads the site into a tiny window that is amazingly difficult to read. If you want all your earthquake info aggregated into one place, this app will do that, but you can get the exact same info from the various websites, for free.

Good app - updated. I have to say after trying about 15 earthquake apps, i have found this one to be the easiest and nicest to use. The data is presented very well on the list page and the fonts are readable. Also the map is reasonably well done. By the way, the ability to adjust font size is much appreciated. Thank you! The one function this app is lacking is push notifications. I read once where they have some agreement not to do notices but that greatly reduces this app's value as you have to have a different earthquake app with notices to know an earthquake just happened and where so you can look them up on this one. In time, everyone will just stop using (and purchasing) this app if the developers don't add that functionality.

Reliable and Easy. I have used this app for years and it is very reliable and easy to use. I’m from Southern California and my family lives in Northern California. As soon as I feel movement I start checking the app to see where and how big it was. Love it.

Best of the Lot!. Because this app pulls from numerous sources and not JUST USGS-who have a reputation for under-reporting or even NOT reporting quakes which may affect their corporate sponsors-after trying NUMEROUS quake apps, I ALWAYS return to this one. My only problem has been notifications. But, now I have an app that ONLY gives push notifications, (not much detail), and I can just open THIS app for all my detail! Have also recommended to fellow Dutch-watchers. While I personally have only experienced a few quakes personally and live in a rather low risk zone; after the Aug ‘11 quake knocked my building off its foundation here in Pa; and I have friends & family in high-risk zones, I prefer to keep INFORMED & PREPARED!

Great, Unless You Live in Hawaii. Easy to use, lots of data, but never shows the quakes that hit Hawaii. We had a 5.3 yesterday, that didn't show up on the app. No idea why; a couple of years ago Hawaii quakes showed up, but not now.

Very Helpful App. The information is nearly instantaneous. Living in earthquake rich territory makes this app indespensable. When I feel shaking I open the app and within minutes have magnitude, location, depth, and distance from where I am. No frills, just solid science and up to the minute seismic information.

Closest/Nearest. Good app., but Closest and Nearest mean the same thing. So why are they BOTH tabs along with Latest and Biggest. Which are vastly different unlike closest and nearest which like I said are the same thing, exactly. We don’t need both just Latest and Biggest and Closest OR Nearest.

University of Tulsa Geology Major 30 yrs ago. Fascinating! You've come a long way baby from the days of Fortran & Cobalt & computer punch cards. Sorry missed the ride. Had twins & they were all consuming! But they & their friends are all in the business of oil & gas drilling, exploration, energy management, leasing, & producing. So like the exponential difference between EQ RS ratings, by having twins, the world will benefit from the domino effect. The general public thinks our earth is not supposed to move. They will get educated! This APP is top notch, new info, & geared for everyone. I posted to FaceBook.

Excellent!. Very useful.

Great app. If you want to keep track of earth quakes around they globe, this is the app to have!

Goes hand in hand with Dutchsinse on You Tube. This app is great, but I remember when I first downloaded this app, a few months back, I was able to zoom into an area, much closer than I can now.. what happened to the pixels? It’s not as clear anymore.. I liked it before when I could see exactly what the terrain looks like, where the quake hit. I would really appreciate if you could fix that issue! Thanks!!

Worth Every Penny!. I've been searching for a seismology app for quite a while now, and have really had difficulty finding one that is, well, good. I stumbled across the Quakewatch app in a magazine and read the well-written article on it. I decided to take a chance and spend the 99¢ on it. How glad I am I did! The app is great, easy to use and navigate through, and has a plethora of information on each quake, including intensity, depth, time and location. It's truly worth every penny. Well done, Quakewatch!

Quake Watch 🌎. This is one of my favorite apps! EVER! I have learned so much about the earth and how very active it really is from the surface to the core! Here in Oklahoma, we have experienced a marked increase in seismic activity over the past few years. This app. details the different types, causes and consequences of different types of quakes! I have learned so much. The quake occurrence information is updated immediately all the stats and info you could ever think of relating to each quake! You set the parameters! It's amazing. If you love learning about this living home, our Earth, get this app.... TODAY! I love the inclusion of tsunamis, volcanoes and maps of all things related to dynamic surface of our planet. 🌟 TEACHERS🌟 this would be great for students to have on their tablets, so much educational material is included! The maps are interactive and the resolution is outstanding! THANK YOU!

Great feature set. I recently moved out west after living in Florida most of my life and I instantly became paranoid about being caught off guard by an earthquake. This app keeps me up-to-date by the minute plus provides (recent) historical data, thus quelling my fears (almost) completely. Quake Watch provides incredible detail about seismic activity and even links you right up with USGS for even more "stuff" such as easy to understand scientific data and even tsunami alerts and details. I also have the "Earthquakes" app and it pales in comparison to all you get with Quake Watch. Thanks for the peace of mind you provide with this app.

This App Rocks and Rolls!. With earthquake activity and acuity rising this is a MUST HAVE APP regardless of where you live!! I utilize it several times a day, since I live next to the San Andreas Fault. It's nice to have access to all the data points I look for in a single app. I love being able to see the site of the quake on a GPS map. The ease of use, strong graphics, and links to sister EQ and Tsunami warning sites world wide, this is a fantastic tool that leaves the others in the dust. >^..^< F

Slow. Looking for a new Earthquake AP. This one is very slow in reporting/updating the information .

Excellent and useful. This is a great app. It's a very handy way to access the USGS earthquake information from your phone. Actually, I think it's easier to use the app than it is to check the actual USGS web page. I contacted the developer with feedback and suggestions, and heard back from him very quickly. It sounds like he is planning on making some excellent changes and additions to the program that will only make it better. Highly recommended!

Great app. I tried quite few apps. I love this app easy and well designed

LOVE IT!. I check this app multiple times a day. Love the layout. Wish it had push notifcation and not rely on USGS to send me email or SMS which costs me $ Suggestion would be to show grayed out pins of the last several quakes in the area of a particular quake that I look at - if there are several to show, to get a historical view of what is going on in the area. But otherwise 5 stars!!!

Lots of information in great form. I've been using this app a couple of years. It is very scientific and super interesting. I'm not in an earthquake zone but if I was on the west coast this would be an app I would use everyday. The interface could not be better. The developers hit a homerun! Great work Quakewatch!

Great application of technology!. This app exemplifies the benefits of bringing different technologies together to change how we see our world. Living in Southern California, I put this on my iPhone's home page years ago and often show it to people when I am traveling. The way the app slices and dices the data is great, allowing you quick access to what is locally relevant and well as a global view. Definitely a "must have" app for global citizens.

Great app. Simple, free, and works well.

Great app. I check this app at least twice a day. I live in earthquake country so I am always curious to know where the world is shaking and bouncing. The only frustrating thing is not being able to see the whole Pacific Ocean but I understand that comes from using the Google maps. One thing that would be nice is an archive, as the app only shows about 24 hours of events. Another would be to sort by location using a variable radius from one quake.

Possible improvements. Earth map should show NewZealand better, right on edge of map. Try a revolving globe in next upgrade and a education segment on how /why earthquake happens .

Great, but can't get it working again. I downloaded the app the other day and thought it was amazing, but when I go into it now it says the network is unavailable, even though internet access is fine...:( - want to get it working for my class - any advice?

Question?. Great App! Have reviewed previously. Developer -> Impressed with your feedback thanks :) Why am I no longer receiving updates of NZ earthquakes tho? Been a quake - hear from friends there, but not recorded on App? All Area feeds are enabled. Keep up the good work!

Mr Sali Gashi. It is great app, excellent and accurate info, It updates straight into iPhone without WI FI, zoom in out into places , search fault lines etc, it's brilliant well done.

Very good. Better than all of the free apps & worth every cent. Doesn't appear to send alarm warnings however, hence four stars.

Awesome. Best quake app been using it for 5 years now. Very reliable

Great. Great app for anyone wanting the most current info on earthquakes occurring.

A great earthquake App!. This app was good in its first incarnation and it is hard (I think) for developers to keep improving them. This one however, is even better than it was and definitely rates five stars from me. Well done!

Great. Does exactly what it says. Mapping shows all quakes on the pacific rim around Samoa and tonga creating an amazing cluster heading south towards new Zealand after yesterdays tragic quakes. Amazing how much our planet shakes!

Great app!. Great app, very good information available for what's happening on our planet! Highly recommend.

Great. What an incredible and excellent geological educational tool. It highlights where all the action is. As a geologist I understand and know all this stuff but I have found it very very interesting and easy to use....how about a similar map etc to show volcanic activity!!

Awesome app!!!. didn't realize so many earth quakes happened all the time

Excellent App. Uses databases of your choosing, shows quakes of your chosen minimum size, takes only minutes to inform, connection to tsunami alerts. Can post to social networks with one click. Worth having.

Informative. Good information received faster than any radio broadcast. As an app it does what it states it will do. Top marks.

Request for a widget. I’m increasingly checking this app out; a few times a week at least. I’ve referred the app to friends and the one feedback is if there’s a widget with notable stats? Could this be done?

Willowhope. It's scary how acurate the app is. It's amazing just how many earthquakes there are.

Good app, works well. Easy to use

Nice app. Easy to use. Works well. Good value.

Mr gus choungi. Why won't you slow send for latest quakes,no good enough many like to know what is happening?cant tweet latest quake?will not post to Twitter?

The best. Excellent app. Addictive!!!!

Excellent app. I use this app every day to keep up with quakes in Christchurch, New Zealand. Showing quakes further back in time would get 5 stars from me.

Fantastic instant info. I have just bought this app and am amazed at the number of earthquakes happening around the world, even here in Australia. Hope the spaceship we call Earth isn't breaking up!

Good fun. Like this app all good stuff didnt no how many quakes can happen around the world in short period of time

Incredibly useful!!!!. Follow all geo-sciences and now I'm actually able to observe trends and observe some amazing earth interactions.

Very Nice!. This application is very well done! One wish for the future: An alert when there is a strong earthquake (7.0 +) close the users location for tsunami watch (similar to the eBay application warnings) that will be displayed on the phone when the application is turned off.

Great app!. Spending a lot of time in Japan i have found this app just amazing. Great information almost instantly has made for a truly great application at the moment. Great job totally recommended!!!

Very good but.... Where is New Zealand on the world map????

Fantastic App. I never knew so many earthquakes happened around the world every day. Very informative information to have and I use it every day. Thanks to the developers for making this App available and so easily accessible. I'm watching the Mayan countdown calendar to 21st Dec 2012 and noticing distinct patterns emerging. A must App to have.

Did not report a quake near me. Disappointed that it did not report an earthquake just 20 km near me which everyone felt.

mpv. Excellent, works well in Australia too and showed a recent quake in Bowen. Worth the money.

Mr Antonio Rocky fb WA. Didnt even mention Washingtons quake some time ago neirher Alaskas big quake several hours ago?? Isnt there a bigger Quake than 7.1??? Does this meed an update??

Very informative and smart app.. Great updates. Timely. Accurate.

Great app. This is one of my most used apps and is really well designed. The latest update (Dec 2012) is brilliant! Love it! A couple of suggestions. 1. The ability to be able to view all sections of the world map. At present, some sections are hidden at the edges near New Zealand. 2. Speed setting for quake location replay.

Great. Does what it says, great map, constantly updated. Worth the money.

Clear, compact info. App is easy to manage. Problem. New Zealand is obscured on the world map n the Pacific rim is not viewable as a unit.

Great App. This is great, it tells me earthquakes close to where I am and updated regularly😃

Quakewatch. Best app I've got be aware of whats happening in your area . A1 :)

Informative and easy to use. Great app!

Budding geophysicist. Solid little app, has everything you need to stay upto date with global seismicity

Good but map pan & zoom need work. Good app that provides most required information but the map pan & zoom functionality are damned frustrating & in fact used to be better in previous versions than now. Try to locate & zoom in on NZ & western Pacific detail, one of the most significant areas of recent seismic activity, & you'll find yourself stuck in the edge of the map with little flexibility. The full global view in replay is pretty hopeless too. I preferred the previous version before all the fiddling with coloured pins & tectonic plates. They are nice to have but not at the expense of the now lost map functionality. Please fix or I'll look for another app. Three stars until fixed.

Awesome App, but.... Great app, used it all the time UNTIL the latest update, which has now rendered this "the App that no longer opens". What a shame - now deleted.

Link to Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre does Not Work. I love this app but for the past few weeks the link to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre doesn’t work. I just get a white screen. Please fix.

QuakeWatch. As soon as Canadian feed is added this app will top them all!

Wonderful. This app is a must have , before during and after both of our trips to Japan it was very comforting to know what's up instantly. Living in Vancouver on the west coast of North America everyone should have this app we remain on the ring of fire!

Wonderful APP. This APP is a "Benchmark" for all other "EarthQuake, Tusnami Warning Report APPs". This APP provides excellent information covering the entire world. This APP will allow the user to modify their own specific requirements. The screens are excellent and very user friendly to read and follow. The APP loads very quickly and moves from screen to screen easily. Very well done, many thanks.

A must have for Westcoasters. Living in Vancouver I love being able to keep an eye on things, $$ well spendt

Placing a location for Nearest doesn't work. This doesn't function for a while, seems nobody's going to take care of it.

THE BEST. Just add Canada

Helpful vacation planning tool. A series of earthquakes in Italy. Should we cancel our vacation and avoid the entire country? With this app I can see exactly where the recent quakes are, so we know which region to avoid. It's an odd use, but it's really helpful to us. I like the 'replay' feature, which gives particular insight into recent earthquake activity. Shows all earthquakes worldwide as it draws from a wide variety of sources. A very good piece of design and programming.

Awesome app!!!. Use it all the time. Love it!!!!

Excellent. If you like to see where the earth is rumbling this is the app for you. Great resource for Tsunami info too for those of us living on the globes coastlines.

Warning!. You will NOT have infos from most countries OUTSIDE USA. Check before buying.

Canadian. I love this app because it is so up to date. Too bad the tsunami report stopped working, they go hand-in-hand I would think.

Excellent App!!. This is an excellent app. We had a moderate earthquake locally last night. The app had gathered and displayed all the pertinent information within minutes and continued updating itself as new information became available. Well done!

I like it very much and I live in Canada. Awesome!!!

Great educational & monitoring tool. Worksike a charm! Easy to use, thoughtful options - like biggest, most recent & closest earthquakes. Zoomable graphical representation, links to data. Living in an earthquake zone, like to check it out. Good as an educational tool, too. Just add Canadian data and it's a 5 star!

Fabulous!!. This App has zero problems and is super informative. Reports from all over the world in your real time. Great maps and locators. Very interesting to watch all the seismic activity around the globe!!

Excellent App!!. Well thought out and user friendly. No functional problems and does not crash or freeze, one of my favorite apps.

Excellent App. Excellent app, good be made "out of this world" if warning of earthquakes or tsunamis can be sent out as they happen when in an affected area.

Fantastic app and it includes Canada too. Fantastic app and it includes Canada too

When Coming to Canada. When come to Canada will be the best

Grear App!. Love this App..I check it every day for where earthquakes are happening. The map view is especially interesting. This app has lots of legitimately good and current information. Well done!

Best out of the bunch, but.... Best, most quickly updated earthquake app out there, however I’m not always checking this app and I am not notified for the quakes that are in my proximity... This brings me to be paranoid, checking multiple times a day to ease my mind. I wish I could get immediate push notifications to a specific range that I can adjust to monitor quakes via alerts instead of actively checking. Am I missing something or is this app lacking?

All the info I need. This app does exactly what it says it will which is exactly what I need it to. Very up to date, easy to use and very inexpensive. I had a minor issue and the developer was incredibly quick to respond with a fix.

02.06.2010. Very useful, good overview, easy to operate. I like it!

Good, yet a few things could improve it. I like this app, very interesting info. However, if the developers could make the google map more able to move around, as when there is a quake on it's edge of the map, say around NZ, it's not possible to move the map over that area. That's the first thing I'd like them to do. The second thing is to be able to see more history, going back. Maybe a setting to do that would be possible. Other than those two matters, I like it, and recommend it.

Love it!. I used to have to search multiple sites and here it is all in one!

Cool. Good app

This app rocks!. This is my favorite app - I love that I can sort three ways, recent, size or distance! I also really enjoy easy access to the technical details, much easier than checking my email. Thanks to the developers for making this app available!!

Does Everything I Expect. User interface is intuitive and the levels of information available plus real-time quake updating make this a top notch app in its class.

Excellent App. Really good app, the only thing I'm missing is notifications; the app should be able to notify me when there is an Earthquake bigger than 6.0 or something like that and it should be right away.

Best Choice. If you are looking for an earthquake app, this is the best option there is. It is as feature packed as any of the others, and I haven't yet had a crash. The GUI is simple yet very well done. The developer is courteous enough to respond quickly to emails as well. If you're going to pay money, then I would suggest you go with this app.

Best Quake App. Previously I used the extension "Quake Alert"for Chrome. Since it stopped working correctly I began an app search and after careful consideration I decided to use "QUAKEWATCH." The best quake monitoring app I have ever seen. I love its versatility and ease of use. Very informative, loads quickly, & provides all the details one would look for in a quake app. I highly recommend this app if you are a geology enthusiast. Great app for beginners to teachers.

Don't waste time ------. - Just get this. - It's in my 'Daily' homepage folder, just before Safari and Mail. And it is an app that is used Every Day! - The developer (Thank you T.W. very much) keeps this app working, and hasn't just abandoned it, which seen to be the current rage among developers. - You will like it.

Love it. Just got this app today and love it! I live in So Cal and like to keep tabs on the shakes. Until today it was hassle with the USGS site. This app gives me lots of search options. I'm crazy about the map choices. Great job. Great app. The only improvement I would want is accurate prediction of future quakes. I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Where I turn first when the ground shakes. I live in Southern California, and when the ground shakes the first thing I do is check it out on this app. It consistently gives fast and accurate information. Sometimes I even take screenshots and post them to Facebook. Great app!!!

Excellent!. This is a great app! I use it every day, multiple times a day. Although I do not live in an "earthquake prone" region, I find it fascinating to see all of the seismic activity that occurs all over the world. This a great tool for learning. I highly recommend it. 

Spraydust. Love this app. It's very well presented and there's plenty of information to look thru. I enjoy reading the news reports associated with the earthquake or volcano or even the tsunami I'm very happy and it's great value for all the stuff available in the same app. Great work. Thank you.

Aweseism. I'm a geology major, and even though I live in a tectonically stable region, I use this app frequently for instant objective data on noteworthy events, as well as sating my thirst for all things earth-related. I have several geologist friends who use Droid and are envious that there is literally NOTHING comparable to this app available to them; thus, I ask that the devs please make this available to those and other platform/OS users ASAP!

I was quite impressed. I was sitting here at my PC IM'ing a buddy when he aske dif I felt the quake we just had. I didn't feel it but the first thing I thought of was let me look for an app for quake watching sicne I live in California (Bay Area) anyways. By the time I downloaded this app there it was. 2.8 quake in Santa Rosa completes with all the typical USGS maps etc. This is going to be a very handy app and like others have said it's VERY FAST!

Exceptional app. Does all it claims. There's only one thing I can think of to improve this. The map, like most maps break in the middle of the"Ring of Fire". Watching the quake time lapse sequence with the whole plate in view would be great. Thanks for the great value.

Ed. Great App. Have had it for years. I live in California where we get a lot of quakes. It's nice to be able to see how many and how close they are each day. With iOS 9 they had a few bugs, but after emailing Terry, he fixed them right away and now the app is back to great.

Great science app. This is a great application if you're interested in earthquake size, when and where they happen. It also has a tsunami page. I like that you can view earthquakes in the entire world, or an area you choose. It really is amazing how many earthquakes occur every day.

=). Great app! I highly recommend. I like that it shows on map where an earthquake happened and you can see the ones that happened closest to you. It seems to update quickly too.

Good vibrations. This is a great app. One teeny tiny suggestion: when viewing quakes closest to you under the "closest" folder, maybe actually list them from closest to furthest instead of randomly jumbled. Small beans, but it would be cool if there were listed in order from closest to furthest. I'm OCD as it pertains to organization :)

The very best earthquake app. This app is outstanding at the very least. Whatever earthquake information you need you can find it here. The app allows you to personalize it for your liking. As you can chose your exact location so you know how close earthquakes are to you. You can also set up the app not to notify you of the smaller quakes. A must for any First Responder

Works great, very detailed, but. Highly detailed and sortable (by mag, time, etc.), beautiful graphics and maps, and links to USGS for each quake - a great tool, and eye-opening to see how many quakes are going on all around the world, all the time. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5-star app is the lack of notifications :-(. Boo... Otherwise, yay.

Great Update. When Mr. Worley said what he wanted to do with this update, I was skeptical. But, he did it. I use an iPod Touch and I did not want the app to bother me with location request on each launch - Done. Mr. Worley added a vastly improved map interface. Living on the "Ring on Fire", I like to see what is happening every day - QuakeWatch does the job. It is accurate, timely and informative. A well done 5 Stars.

Quakewatch is Now CrashWatch - Iphone and Ipad. Version 2.4.1. works like a charm. thanks for working to make the app do its quality "thing". For those of us in professional fields where content information like earthquakes and geospatial visualization are crucial, the quick attempt to fix what was broken is tremendously appreciated. thanks geomon

Best Quake APP!. Easy to change settings, user friendly, great for San Diego dwellers especially recently! Quick reporting but often results show lower magnitude than when reported online and on tv news shows for some reason. Close enough though! Love it!

Excellent quake app.. Love the app but since most activity is in the Pacific Ring of Fire, would like to see the world map centered on the Pacific. You must scroll to opposite ends of the map to see the entire ring. Would love to see an update on that.

Excellent. I really like this app I'm on it almost everyday it's pretty cool to see the activity this planet has on a daily bases, the only thing I would like to see added is when a volcano is active I think that would be just as sweet as this app

My favorite ap!. It's addictive! Thank you so much for a top-notch, well developed application. The update you provided was an unexpected pleasure - the new terrain option, coupled with the expanded coverage area, was definitely the icing on the cake. Thank you for a flawless program that never fails to perform. Five stars!

Getting The Shakes. This App does exactly what it is supposed to do. You tell it what you want and it provides the information. I have had alerts from this App prior to the official alerts from the County Government. I am confident in the output. It gives us the information we need.

LOVE IT. I can't remember if I spent 0.99¢ but it is worth every penny if you are in the hunt for that recent earthquake you felt of heard about....easy to use and gives you the information often before the news agencies will give you. ENJOY IT and be safe!! :)

Quake Locale Stats. I think your app is excellent. I'm not a techie, but it would further enhance the usefulness of the app if you could hot-link your quake location heading to show statistics on the last 5 or so quakes to hit that particular area.

Great app!. I got this app when it used to be free but I would still pay a buck for it. It comes directly from the USGS website where I always used to run to when an earthquake happened to get instant news. They are the first to update and the app is no exception. I'm a geology nerd and I <3 this app!

A winner!. I am totally impressed...if you live where earthquakes happen you need this app...all kinds of helpful info plus links to other government agencies to find it fast...what you need if the ground is moving and you fear a tsunami..get it...you won't be sorry...

Was great...now just okay. I used to really like this app--was accurate & quick at sending measurements, but it doesn't do that anymore. Now only seeing updated quake info from 4-5 days ago. Can't get an accurate reading until long after the fact. Might just be it needs an update, but if it's not fixed soon, I'm looking elsewhere. Still don't have info from a quake that occurred yesterday--it's showing ones from Sunday. Not very helpful.

One buggy feature. So far it seems OK, more or less what I was looking for, worth a buck. One apparent bug, it seems, the "zoomable world map" displayed when you tap the globe icon won't let me zoom or move or manipulate it in any way. Also, the time and magnitude selection buttons at the top appear nonresponsive, although the "settings" button at the top left does respond. Thanks

Wonderful, but.... I've enjoyed this app very much since purchasing it. However, as I do not have the Richter scale memorized its pretty hard to have an idea of the strength if each earthquake. If you could add another tab with the richter scale on it (and characteristics of each magnitude, like a 7.0 will break bridges or whatever) it would be perfect! Thank you!

Features. I love this App. There is one thing I would like to see added as a feature and that would be to allow a user to receive notifications for areas of interest.

Fast and accurate. I don't often write reviews unless it's my absolute favorite. This app is fast, accurate, and reliable. Every time I felt an earthquke in south California, I would check this handy app first. The results comes up within minutes of the earthquke. Thanks for the app. Please support the developer and make this app even better in the future.

Irving, TX Earthquakes. After living in the DFW area my entire life I would have never expected to experience AN earthquake. To experience them multiple times in a day is unsettling. Finding this AP to give details is comforting. I share the results after each one. Many of my friends on FB now have this AP. It's very useful... Now can you work on stopping these?? 😉

Lacking. I prefer iFeltThat app, it gives town where quake was felt, this one only gives name of state. iFeltThat also pulls right to whats closest to me, obviously I would want that info first. This app also doesnt show quakes less than 2.5, I want to see all. Not sure if I'll delete now or hang on to see if they make improvements.

LOVE IT!. I love this app! Not only can I get very interesting info on quakes around the world, but I've been able to "watch" the recent activity in my own area. One update I'd love is to be able to set parameters for and receive push notifications. That would awesome! Thank you developers--good job!!

Whole lotta shakin' goin' on --. This is an elegant, full-featured and easily-mastered app that is a must for anyone with even a mild level of seismic interest, phobia, or risk exposure. I'm sure it could be improved, but I can't think of how. I check it a couple times a day, as I have family in LA and Papua, Indonesia -- not to mention that we live about 60 miles from the epicenter of the VA quakes! Five stars.

Crashing?. I love, love, love this app. It's the best one out there for tracking global earthquake activity. But as of yesterday it's been crashing each time I try to launch it. Been through all the normal diagnostics for the iPad (reboot, restart, reinstall app, etc.). Wondering if the developer has any suggestions???

Felt a quake within 15 minutes of buying this app!. It's true! I was lying in bed reading after spending a few minutes playing with this app. Heard the building creak and felt a faint shaking. Said to my wife "that was an earthquake!". She didm't believe me, but a few minutes later this app displayed a 3.2 19 miles away. What are the odds? Too cool. Five stars.

What happened. For some reason over the last week the show local quakes slider stopped working. All quakes are controlled by the world wide slider. This is a great app but has become frustrating. I am running current version. Any ideas?

Great, more maps please.. I love this app! I'm an 8th grade earth science teacher and use this with my classes all the time. The one feature I would love to see added is a more movable map. It's annoying that I can't out the pacific ocean in the center of the screen. I also can't see Antarctica. I know Antarctica doesn't often get earthquakes, but a more accurate map would rock.

I too, have used almost every quake app on iTunes.... And this one is the best. By far. All the others quake apps fall short of the features in this app, and most others (even PAID!) have huge advertising banners. This one does not - and works PERFECT. Developer: Keep up the good work!

This app is awesome!. All the detail I could ever want, yet the list view makes seeing what has happened in the last 24 hours very simple and straightforward. Very user friendly but highly informative. I had no idea the earth rumbles and moves so much.

Must-Have in So-Cal!. Did you feel that? Where was it? How big? We who live along the San Andreas have burning questions when the ground moves under our feet. This app answers them all in a heartbeat. As a SoCal journalist I'd be crazy to be caught without this app. Anyone with a fault line of their own should feel the same. Bravo, and thank you QuakeWatch!

SoCal must have app. Still the best app of its kind... This is so well done so many features and such a easy user interface, this is just the best ive seen of all the iOS apps for quake information at your fingertips w/o having to open your browser search usgs or google then share on Facebook by copy paste link etc same for email... A must for people in southern Cali or other quake zones...

Excellent!. I've tried a few different quake feeds/apps...and this one has been by far the best. It has customizable settings, a fully functioning zoomable world map, "Latest"/"Biggest"/"Closest" tabs, ability to share with FB or Twitter, and link to NOAA tsunami site. Also has other additional info... Link to American Red Cross, link to emergency preparedness supplies, quick facts, and more. 

A very good app.. I've had this app for as long as I can remember. It's an education in process all the time for me, the real facts presented in a nice way. And good maps of where the event has taken place with the time. Very useful indeed, thanks for the people who put it altogether I say.

Best app. This is an extremely fast and accurate app. The owner always is quick to let you know when there is a change and there to fix any problems. I highly recommend this app.
