Messing up a useful apps. The latest changes are abysmal. You can’t go back to main screen and browse or scroll through publications, anymore. You must select your publications when you reload the apps. As premium customer who considers this apps inconsequential but very useful you’ve messed up the platform. Developers should be fired after the latest November 2020 update! I’ve ended my subscription! Update: Worked with Developer to solve issue. Developer gave a version # indicating apps was supposedly fixed. Version update only works when the apps has been closed and phone is rebooted. This isn’t a fix it’s a work around. Perhaps company should invest in better Developers. Nice, you finally fixed the Apps, I am happy again!!!!

Buggy App, 100% Unusable, Great Service. App often doesn’t work, great when it does. Other times it just keeps endless less scrolling itself page to page as slide overs. Used to work. Doesn’t anymore, and hasn’t in many months. I would be willing to submit logs. Not sure how to enable them for the app though. Issue is easily reproducible.

Good. It could be better. I read the N.Y. Times almost daily as I travel a lot. I actually like reading on PressReader better than the actual paper. The photos are better, and you can jump to continuation pages easily, and back, sometimes. Unfortunately with the Times at least, links are missing at times. That might be NYT’s fault? Navigating with the gizmo on the bottom of the screen is tedious. A drop down list would be better. Also missing is a “back” button. I wish I could just go back to the previous page I was on like in every other reading app I have used. Finally, it seems that if an update comes down to an issue or supplement while you are reading it, the app pops up an annoying sidebar and sometime takes you back to the top of the page or the first page...very annoying. They should just put up an icon to notify you. But overall I like it. I use a different one for the Vail Daily and I like this one better.

Closest thing to reading the actual print edition of the New York Times. There is something that I really like about the layout of an actual newspaper. Using Pressreader to download the print edition of the New York Times is the closest thing I found to actually reading the newspaper. The best thing is that I don’t have to go to the newsstand or open my front door to get the paper delivered; I can find it in the app first thing in the morning.

Latest update doesn’t work. Today is Saturday April 18th. The new update downloaded last night. It opens to old, already deleted versions of the New York Times. The browse catalog wont load completely. It is impossible to load the New York Times digital edition. There is no way to contact the company through the app. Why in the world would you post a new version on a weekend, when you are in the worst position to fix bugs. PressReader, as a product, is solid when it works. Unfortunately, too often, bugs pop up, and there is no way to remedy the situation. I wish that the major publications would field their own replica apps or force better quality control over PressReader. Very sloppy and disappointing.

Works great but no family sharing.. Just like the iPad and iPhone apps, this just works. I've been a pay-as-you-go and Hotspot Hog for at least five years. Finally tried the all-you-can-eat trial and I'm hooked. I just wish they supported family users with seperate profiles so my wife and I can share and still be under the five device limit.

Not. That. Great.. I am not impressed with this app at all. It just makes things that should be straightforward and easy unnecessarily difficult. I do a search on a new device for a periodical I have been receiving for years on an older one, and the search turns up nothing. I wish to de-authorize one device so that I can authorize another and I can’t do that without getting tech support from my organization (the website won’t let me sign in on my computer so I can do so myself. Instead it tells me that my email and/or password are “incorrect” - which they are not). Just a bunch of unnecessarily complicated nonsense! Also, the app has an icon badge which is not self-explanatory. I wish I knew what it signified. Is it the number of periodicals I am supposed to receive (because that does not seem accurate)? The number of issues available for download? (because that doesn’t seem accurate either). What?! I tried opening all my periodicals to see if that would get the icon to it would go away or change, but it didn't. So an explanation of its significance would be nice. With many publications piling up I would appreciate a feature that could instantly put them in chronological order, for finding issues more easily, but there doesn’t seem to be such a feature. Honestly, if I did not need to use this app out of necessity, I would have deleted it long ago.

A must have for the Traveler. This app is a must-have for anybody that travels the off-line mode is fantastic cover to cover on reading magazines & your favorite newspapers couldn’t live without it. Only downside is the automatic subscription and download is limited if you want additional titles you have to download them by hand on a daily basis.

V6.2 is great improvement Thank You. Thanks for addressing issues with the 6.2 update. Much improved reading experience. Your app is great! Addressing some of the annoying little quirks with this update makes it that much better. Keep up the good work. I primarily use an iPad mini with your app

Mostly good but sometimes skips issues. The interface and image quality are great, as is the selection of different publications from around the world. However, I have noticed that sometimes issues just get “skipped”. For example, with my New York Times Home Delivery subscription, and also The Week magazine is another example where I have noticed this.

Great, except for one bug. Press Reader is a wonderful way to read the New York Times. In fact, I prefer it over the print edition. Being able to “jump” to the continuation of articles is much, much easier than leafing through paper pages. The only gripe I have is when a side panel pops up on the left side at random and unpredictable times, and I have no way to get rid of it besides closing the app and restarting. Grrrrr… Other than that, I love it.

The best once more. The glitch with downloads has been fixed, and the new dark mode and layout are beautiful. Once again the best way to read newspapers from around the world. Thank you!

So far, so good!. At the risk of jinxing this app, PressReader seems to have hit a nice plateau...works well on current and not so current hardware running up to date iOS. I personally have no complaints and wonder which iPad and what iOS the folks are running who are upset. Backwards compatibility is hard to guarantee in a rapidly changing competitive electronics era.

Useful but frustratingly buggy. I use Pressreader on my iPad solely to read the digital replica of the NYT. The app frequently crashes, frequently mis-displays pages and frequently gets stuck in a funk and needs to be returned home and then re-navigate to your page to display and function properly. The NYT disallows selection and dictionary lookup - but that is not Pressreaders fault. Would also like it to zoom in farther. I am not a fan.

Near-perfect. I love this app. As a journalism professor, I know that the best way to follow news is by reading an actual newspaper cover to cover (as opposed to a web site or social media). Two minor suggestions for improvement: 1. Convince more publications to participate. For instance, there’s not a single Vermont newspaper available. 2. In the download section, please provide the dates of the publications. Thanks for this app. And especially a huge thanks to participating publications. It is such an important resource. Update: the issue date is NOT listed below the name of publication at the bottom of thumbnail on Downloaded tab. That was my point. I’m happy to send a screen shot.`

Almost there!. Generally it’s a good app. My only problem is that there is the option to save pages to your collections, yet there is absolutely no way to actually access them?? I’m guessing this is a glitch or something. Would definitely be 5 stars if this was fixed. For anyone else that needs this feature, the workaround that I’ve been doing is taking screenshots then cropping out the top and bottom so it shows just that page.

New version is totally hosed - fixed. Prior version had flaws but basically worked. New version just shows blank screens, no search results and signon is broken. Get better programmers and do much better testing. Avoid this release at all costs. Update: rapid response from developer. Apparently app failed but websites were working. No further explanation but at least it works fine now.

An amazing source of reading, but not only!. My access to all possible world press became instant, my opinions became influential, my channel is growing and developing super fast. Three great features I’ve never seen before but always dreamed of: real time Translation (you don’t need 3rd party anymore) - very convenient - just imagine you can read any language! (Italian Vogue is not longer Italian) Then you don’t even have to read, Voice Reader can do it aloud. And finally the Boomarks! (I still have those thousands of heavy folders I used put teared magazine pages in from my student years). The app delivers the fresh issues of all I read right to my account. I’m shocked! I’m in future!

Press reader app is excellent. I've been using the app for about three or four years. It's very easy to download the paper and once downloaded, it is very easy to navigate through the options. I recommend it to anyone who wants to read a lot on the go.

Doesn't work well. I read the New York Times on this app. However, there are blue highlights on the headlines which are supposed to bring the article into a column for reading like a book. Today they don't bring in text. And other days they are not even there. Can't compete with the Washington Post Working better

Fifty-fifty. I love this app, but wish it were more stable. I spend as much time deleting/reinstalling and troubleshooting as I do actually reading. For what it’s worth, this wonderful product always works on my Mac desktop, but it’s extremely problematic on my iPhone and iPad.

A wonderful resource in these crazy times. PressReader is a great app that I frequently forget about and then promptly return to, but also one that I really wish I could work into my daily and nightly routines. One major thing that keeps me from doing so is the lack of a dark mode. I’d like to take an hour to get away from the bright, loud, chaotic world and relax with my favourite magazine, ‘Deutsch perfekt’, before bedtime; however, there’s entirely nothing relaxing about having to read dark text on the glaringly white screen of my iPad. If the PressReader team could figure out how to invert text whilst keeping the design and images of the magazine or newspaper largely intact, that would be greatly appreciated!

Slow response, hard to understand interface. The newspaper is a good replica of the real thing. But how do you get that image.- hard to figure out. Too many clicks to get to today’s paper. Needs to be made more intuitive and to go right to the front page of your preferred publication when you open the app. The Phila Inquirer replica edition does just that,

FABULOUS TO HAVE NEWS ON IPAD. This is the greatest app! I get to see my NY Newspaper while I live in Florida. I can see any paper from all over the world! It’s ready by 5:30am and I don’t have to go outside to my driveway to get the paper... wet or dry! I don’t have to deal with the newspaper print that I’m allergic to. And I don’t have to throw the paper away at the end of the day! Also, I can save papers on my iPad or iPhone and see my favorite stories or articles whenever I want. It’s just FABULOUS! And the price cannot be beat!!! Get this Press Reader app ASAP!!!

NY Times. I have been a loyal NY Times reader for 4 decades. Living remotely, I am only able to get a subscription via PressReader. Sorry, but I feel that the system works better for PressReader Incorporated than for its subscribers. I have recently spent a full half day renewing my subscription as my credit card on file had expired. PressReader deleted my account at the stroke of midnight when my yearly subscription expired and I was online and on the phone for 5 hours to become recognized as a subscriber and become reinstated with my updated payment information. Was there an email updating me of the impending end of my subscription? Nope. Wake up PressReader you are a service industry and we are your clients! I have already noted my renewal date in 364 days in my 2020 calendar.

Overall a great program.. I love being able to read newspapers in the true format It works extremely well on my iPad but not as perfectly on my PC. I have the downloaded NY Times that will tend to freeze while reading and then turning the pages. I will then have to reopen the app and find the page where I was last reading

IPad mini is not an iPad to PressReader. As the owner of an iPad Air and an iPad Mini 4 I can swear to the fact that literally hundreds of APPs are the same for both devices. Not PressReader. It does not allow expansion by pressing the screen out. Enlarging the print on the pages of The NY Times Replica works fine on the iPad Air. But the PressReader on the iPad Mini does not enlarge. Particularly enraging as the mini is smaller and really NEEDS the enlarging ability. Have sent repeated complaints...always handled by a different person. Sent screen shots to show the problem and someone had the Gaul to ask me to make a movie but their APP blocks movie making of the screen. Totally irritating help/really no help.

Does not recognize a hotspot with licensed content. I just spent 45 minutes trying to get the software to give free access to content, based on being in an airline lounge that specifically allows it. I three times made sure it’s the correct hotspot, reinstalled the software a second and third time, checked all network settings with another phone that did give access, disabled cellular access, did a cold iphone restart. Bottom line - no luck. What a waste of time.

Great reading, data hog. I love reading newspapers in their original format on PressReader. I have a subscription to one paper and access to hundreds of papers through my local library, and both log-ins work seamlessly together. PressReader has improved to near-perfect status over the years but one flaw remains: despite my efforts to clear out old editions, the size of my data files grows until it chokes my iPad. Recently I had to once again delete and reinstall the app after it reached over 7GB of content. I don’t know what is causing this as I don’t see any stash of available newspapers in any archive. Otherwise, I’m very happy as a long-time user.

Good Reader, Annoying Popup. It’s a nice reader for publications. But when I try to screen mirror from my iPhone or iPad to Apple TV for better readability, the app thinks I’m taking a screenshot and keeps popping up an alert. Some publications don’t even display when screen mirroring. Please fix this annoying bug.

Love the app but BIG problems with this update!. Big problems with this update! I love the app and have used it for years, but now (1) the drop-down menu that shows table of contents completely blacks out and freezes the screen! (2) From the main screen, the little “More” menu is blank (“...” at lower right corner of screen)! (3) From the page preview display, the little vertical ellipsis at the bottom of the screen also brings up a completely blank menu! Please help!

Want to identify a bug. It’s a great app and very convenient to use. The only thing I need to identify is the auto download function does not properly work on iPad on few of the newspapers and magazines. I have experienced that the auto download reset itself when it’s time for next issue arrives and as such fail to work. The problem I experienced is with Washington post and Newsweek international. It works fine with other newspapers and magazines that I regularly download using the auto download function. Good luck

Great program, but needs Archiveability and Highlights. Everything about this program is great except for two things. 1) If you switch phones or tablet, you lose all your publications. This ignores a large portion of the users who intend to study and reference the material over time. 2) It does not allow the ability to highlight the material or take notes in those sections. The only notes section is for public commentary, which is a different purpose. If we pay for the publication, we should be able to keep it forever and highlight it and do what we need to do with it. Being in the digital world is nice because you can search many publications for keywords, but without the ability to archive what is the point?

Love Press Reader. Thank you for fixing Press Reader battery drain issue on iPad Mini. Use to run down the battery in about 3 hours of Press Reader use. Now it drains at a normal rate. Actually just about every bug has been resolved. Now the latest revision is almost perfect. Please leave it as is. The old saying If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it would apply.

Press Reader. I have to revise my previous review because the latest version is not stable. The blue hyperlink to enlarge an article only works on select articles and crashes the program on others. Repeated requests to customer service have not solved the total problem. They now seem to have fixed the front page of the NY Times but not inner pages like the Opinion page. PLEASE FIX! Finally fixed! Now works well on my iPad Pro 10.5 inch screen. I would like to add my frustration to the other NY Times reader reviews. The Press Reader column on the left cuts off NY Times columns and requires ridiculous slide and hold maneuvers to read the paper. I don't understand why the reading experience got worse with this update. Please fix. Press Reader has a problem with the new iPad Pro 10.5 inch screen. It provides partial columns which require sliding and holding to read some columns. This was reported weeks ago and still not fixed.

A fine newspaper reading tool that needs improvement. The pleasure of electronically reading the newspaper in the paper form laid out by the editors with zooming and links to articles cannot be understated. It works wonderfully with smartphones and computers with pads that permit control with finger movement. It’s the closest one can get to having the actual newspaper replicated in your computer. PressReader still needs to improve the dependability of links jumping to articles and sections of the paper. This function does not always work. It could also be improved with an efficient search tool for finding articles and subjects. One final note. There are no obvious instructions for setting up the app, and using all the available tools. This is a failure of communication all too common today.

Buggy and Unreliable. In the last month, it has become unusable. Downloaded issues disappear and have to be downloaded again. Cannot be used when offline. Formerly, you could download an issue to be read when in an airplane or elsewhere without WiFi. Now, an issue previously downloaded might be gone and unavailable until one has internet access and can download again. I contacted the developers. They have done nothing (for weeks) to fix it. Do not subscribe. You won’t have reliable access to any publications you might purchase.

NYT issue. Why I need to use PressReader is a mystery to me. I use it to read the New York Times print edition. It works just fine but I think the New York Times should give me the ability to read their paper without a separate subscription to PressReader. Press reader doesn’t count as an NYT subscription so links from other news sources to a NYT article will not work

Love this app. I use this app to read newspaper through my library account. For years it worked perfectly until about couple weeks ago. Now it asks me to pay for the subscription. The library account sign in seems not working any more. Hope this issue will be resolved soon. But I do want to say it has been a great service for me. Thank you.

Press Reader. Press Reader is an excellent substitute for the printed paper. I love that it is identical to the print edition. Because of that I KNOW that I’m not missing anything. It is as easy to navigate as the printed paper and maybe better because one can enlarge the print. I wish one could email an article from it but you can’t. If one could it would be perfect. Louise Orkin

OK. I’m a new user. This app gave me access to the article I wanted to read. However, I found it very odd that I had to read it it like I was looking at a picture of the actual printed newspapers page. So, I cannot just search for a keyword, only for magazines, and then I have to know which date my article was published next issue is not all papers are included. and there isn’t a way to suggest new magazines as dar as I can see. I’m still an “unregistered” user even though I’m a subscriber and nowhere does it say the benefit of registration so looking for scientific magazines (I had Quanta Magazine in mind describing quantum phenomena to the public) or medical journals (Like Journal of Alzheimer’s disease) will not be fruitful

I love this App. When I first subscribed to nyp wasnt sure why I was using PressReader but then I tried reading other magazines and I realized nyp was partnered with them to e-read to me and I was shocked but just a long time ago I have started my seven day trial signed up and monitor I will budget the PressReader service when I need it. 100 💯 percent recommend

cannot get current edition. For quite a while i could get yesterday edition, or todays, depending where I clicked. Now I can only get editions 3 days old. This is for the San Jose Mercury news. So now I switched to another newspaper of another city and get current edition.

IOS app works inconsistently. My library system has a subscription to Press Reader. To sign in with your library card the Press Reader video says all you need is the library system name, your card number and your PIN. This is supposedly how the web version works but the iPad app wants you to also create an account. You can’t bypass this. However sometimes the app seems to think you’re on a library hotspot (I’m not) and lets you get on anyway. The next day it forgets and wants to charge you through iTunes. But, if you wait a couple of hours it thinks you’re on a library hotspot again. I don’t know who designs and writes this software but they sure don’t test it.

Worst update ever. The app no longer works smoothly and i hate the black background with no way to find how to v Change it. Scrolling through the thumbnails and tapping on the page you want to read doesn’t work. The only way to get to that page if you scroll to the next page and then scroll back. Why did you change a good thing? Also the setting for automatic download doesn’t automatically stay on. What the heck? Having little control to customize the app is very frustrating. I used to love this app.

Downloads are late. I love having the paper at my fingertips when I wake up. But sometimes the downloads are late, as is the delivery of my paper copy, and then I have NO paper at all. Otherwise, I think PressReader is great. September 13, 2017 Got my NY Times on my iPhone today but it will not download on my iPad. February 25, 2018 Still getting downloads late. Also, not able to access any saved articles. March 20, Still not seeing saved articles in My Collections.

Enjoy the NYTimes. Best service for replica Times. We live too remote for home delivery. This is the next best thing to spreading the Times out the kitchen table with a cup of coffee. If a glitch occurs, customer service is quick to a fix. In all a valuable and excellent service.

My newspaper doesn’t load.... I have a premium subscription that is complimentary through my work. I use the app for The Denver Post. The paper is uploaded 2 to 3 times a week, so I’m missing the paper most days of the week. I would love to use and PAY several hundred dollars a year for this app if the paper would consistently load. As it is now I can see it would only be a frustration and a waste of money as it s now.

30 bucks a month? Inflation?. I really want to try this for 7 days, but I cannot see paying 30 bucks a month for it. MAYBE 15 dollars a month would be better. That would bring this subscription down to the level of most subscription based entertainment. It’s easier just to read articles for free online than to pay this hefty price.

My Favorite App. I read the New York Times every morning on Press Reader and really enjoy the look of the actual newspaper without having to recycle the physical paper. It is great for traveling, too, as there are no worries about suspending delivery, and you can read it on your iPad when you are in Cancun with Ted Cruz.

Unusable?? How can this be?. This app looks like it should be an absolute gem. But the minute I click on the search field the app auto selects and flips through a half dozen publications. I have to individually trace my way back to the search screen, where it automatically flips me back through those same half dozen publications. I can’t search for anything. I’m mind blown the app is doing this.

Auto download stopped working. Auto download has stopped working

Unable to connect to hotspot. Always show hotspot is 5 to 8 kilometres away...although I am in the place

Brilliant. I read all my International Publications anywhere on the go or even at night in bed. Highly recommend very easy to use and I can quickly read the latest editions of favourite magazines

Slow and buggy, looses titles. Have had endless problems with this app. Content downloaded does display properly. Very slow to open once downloaded and crashes - a lot. Only reason I bother with it cause its free when flying with my airline.

words selection is unavailable. I removed this app because I couldn’t select a word in the page of magazine.

Cairns post. This app started off good but it’s gone bad now as it keeps reloading page after it’s already been read and misses pages

GET THIS APP. This app is amazing we tried getting Rb digital but it didn’t do anything this app you can almost any magazine it has cooking sport pets and newspapers GET IT!!!

Keeping in touch with the world.. Keeps our minds informed and active in these uncertain times.

Good app but could use some UI improvement. Somewhat cryptic in its UI. Annoying slide out menu on the left cannot be hidden or controlled in settings, so it consumes valuable screen real estate.

Not happy. Signed up for a free 7 day trial but can unsubscribe. Looks like I’m going to get charged even though I haven’t seen any content

Hot spots no longer working. Usually love this app - always 5/5 stars. This most recent update however (5.2.2) has broken the hot spot location services. They are enabled in the iOS settings but the app doesn’t recognise this and fails to turn on the hot spot location add-on. Please fix!!

Excellent. I follow all craft stuff and is current and nice projects

Updated App. I am finding the updated App more difficult to navigate. It really is annoying. Please go back to the original.

Potentially a good app. First use logged in no problems. Went back to use it again...log in page just kept on popping up. Would say loading...the ask to log in...went around the loop a dozen times before giving up.

Great content. Have had no issues with the app - great variety in content. Recommended.

Best thing ever. We found press reader while on vacation in Bali and signed up straight away, great contact when you travel or at home

App heating up your iPad. I recently upgraded to a new iPad Air in 2020; however, noted that using PressReader to read magazines results in my iPad getting very hot (where the Pencil Magnate is located). This is quite strange as no other app does this - and PressReader is not the only app I use to consume news content.

Could you add more transportation Thai language please. If it is translated into Thai, it will be very good. Thank you👍

Dark background choice. Recommend to have black background during full-screen reading, it’s quite distracting from the newspaper to the bright background.

Worst App. This app is the worst. It’s terrible. Unable to resize articles, lost spots on a page. Impossible to navigate. Why people persist with putting newspapers on it I don’t know. The 5 stars on this must be paid.

Overheating iPad Air 4. This app is causing my new iPad Air 4 to heat up very quickly on the right hand side (camera up top). I need to quickly download a magazine and then go into flight mode. Even after that quick connection it will take some time to cool given the amount of heat generated. I have had the iPad for a month and no other apps cause any heat at all.

Best ever. Keeps me connected with the news, gossips from around the globe and it is right at the tip of my fingers.

Slow. Very slow to open up publications, turn pages etc. Used to be fine. Now almost like the app freezes constantly.

Slow to update editions of magazines. The app is generally user friendly and well designed. The main issue is the delay from when the magazine publisher releases a new digital magazine and the time for it to come up on app. I would expect it to be days not several weeks before it become available on the app.

I can’t get my library log in to work any more. My library always let me log in to download books and magazines on the app but a few days ago it stopped working

Faded print. I usually would give this app a five star rating. Very convenient and agree that I don’t have the ink stained fingers or clothes. However an update about 3 months ago some pages are unreadable or totally blank. Please hurry up and fix I don’t want to find another app.

Just Terrible. I was recommended this app by my local Library however most of the “popular “ magazines require a Premium Subscription that is just way to high. Don’t waste your money. Plenty of better digital magazine apps available and cheaper. *City of Perth Library- Western Australia

After using for a year can no long download. Not happy as up dates have now caused issues. If I select read I get a sign in page over and over and no download. Very disappointed.

Add more newspapers. I love that the app is available and free to use through our local public library in South Australia. The latest version of the app would not download on my older iPad as the latest version requires iOS 11 or later. I have not yet purchased a new iPad!! Now it takes ages to download magazines on another device... my iPhone8. The latest versions of the apps are not always wonderful.

Fantastic with one flaw. It’s a great app with an attractive interface. However when looking at articles in text mode there is no way to change the look of this to a dark mode. I have an eye condition that makes it uncomfortable to read anything with a white background so dark modes are a great help to me. This would easy be a 5 star app if dark mode could be added.

Log in not happening. I have been trying to log in for over 24 hours and the log in just keeps popping up. This was noted as an issue by a user four years ago and is happening now for me.

App Crashing. Can you please fix app ASAP and provide an update, or can you please make previous version available so that we can continue to use this app? The most current version I can see is 6.1.1 and that’s the version on my iPAD. Please make previous version available if this version cannot be quickly fixed.

Update on iPad!. Have loved Pressreader since installing it a month ago. Today I got notification to update to latest version, so did so Now it does not open!

Die Volksblad. Can we pleaas get “Die Volksblad” back? It is a South African newspaper and I joined Pressreader just to be able to read that. Now it is no longer available!

This updated APP mind of its own. Well, I updated today and immediate problems. APP opens every newspaper and magazine I have downloaded. Also where is my ability to display my downloads as small icons. Fas going off this APP which I used to rate highly.

Complete scam. Showed me snippets of my local newspaper and articles I needed to see. After signing up, there is no access to that newspaper or the articles I needed.

Terrible, just terrible. Difficult to use, slow to load, far behind market leaders in usability & functionality. Why did the publisher choose it? Was the main reason why I dropped my subscription to the Halliday Wine Companion (alongside their own dreadfully inadequate website and poor service standards).

Can’t login using library card. It’s not working when I try to log in using my library card. It doesn’t move forward and stays on the page of “want to know you more”.

Awesome. PressReader has completely transformed my news reading experience. With access to thousands of newspapers and magazines from around the world, I feel like I have my finger on the pulse of global events. The app’s intuitive interface makes it easy to navigate through diverse content, and the ability to customize my newsfeed ensures I stay informed about topics that matter to me most. Whether I’m catching up on the latest headlines or diving deep into in-depth analysis, PressReader never fails to deliver. Plus, the offline reading feature is a game-changer for staying connected even when I’m on the go. If you’re looking for a comprehensive news app that offers unparalleled access to diverse perspectives, look no further than PressReader. Expensive but worth it!

App is ok but needs improvement. - ability to save preferred search settings... For example if I only want to find magazines in English every time. - need to be able to save searchable bookmarks across magazines. I want to do bookmarks with a short description while reading a magazine. Then later, i want to be able to look through all my bookmarks and find the magazine which has that article. - update July 2021 issue on iPad Scrolling the news feed from right to left and display issue with new article on top of previous article…..

Keeps crashing iOS 12.3.1. Using the app on my iPhone 7 with ios version 12.3.1 (latest as of now), and it keeps crashing. I’ve been reading for 10 minutes and it already force-stopped three times.

Add a sign / text for fully read / downloaded edition. Please add a sign or text (fully read / downloaded) for magazines / newspapers that I have downloaded in the past. For example, if I have read / downloaded a February 2022 edition of a magazine and then delete it, next time when I am checking the latest issue or certain month of the same magazine, I want to see whether I have read / downloaded the same issue / edition of that magazine. People could forget. So, I don't have to download the same edition that I have read / downloaded in the past. This feature is available in Libby app. So, please add a sign / text whether people have read / downloaded certain editions of a magazine / newspaper.

Very Good App. Very Good App, very user friendly and I am enjoying using it.

Would be better if displayed most recent publications first. Generally works well but I still have to scroll through screens of discontinued magazines from years ago and previous editions to spot new issues from my country. Why not display the most recent first for a better user experience?

The most frustrating app!. Press Reader would be great... if it worked! Magazines rarely load in full, there are always blank pages. Functionality is super slow and glitchy on the newest iPad, and often freezes. I have abandoned the app because it doesn’t seem to be improving after using for a year.

Not as good as RB Digital Magazines. Hate having to sign in every 30 days. Don’t like newspapers showing up when I’m only interested in magazines

Hotspots no longer work. Since the last update I am no longer able to connect to hotspots. Location services no longer recognise that they are on.

Good content but clumsy app. Lots of good content is available. Major issue is that I get logged out after a certain period and when I do the auto downloads that I have set up get missed.

Great app with wide selection. Love being able to read what I want when I want. Auto download of my favorites is a great feature.

Amazing!!. Love having all my newspapers in one place

Crash. The app keeps crashing when you read “journal de Montreal”. It’s been 2 weeks now. Can you fix it.

Times Colonist. Love reading on my iPad every morning.

Heating issue. My iPad mini gen 4 heats up and consumes a ton of battery when using this app. It’s hard to imagine a reader app consuming so much energy. To an extent, I can deal with battery but heating issue is concerning. Devs, can you kindly take a note of this issue..? Otherwise a great app. Concur with the positive reviews for PressReader

Do not like recent update. I’ve been using PressReader for a few years now, and in general I love it. The most recent update is irritating me though, as it is now limiting the number of screenshots that I can take in a magazine or newspaper. I get that some people may be abusing this, and I understand the warning, however there is an assumption that anyone taking screenshots is abusing the magazine, when I am doing it for my own personal use. For example, I recently decided to try cross stitching as something new to do during the pandemic. I downloaded a cross stitch magazine, chose a pattern to try, then took screenshots of the design so that I could send it to my computer to print (I cannot print directly from the iPad). I got the pattern, but I can’t get the instructions! The iPad screen is too small for me to work from, not to mention that the screen keeps blacking out, so I guess I will not be doing the cross stitch. I have also used screenshots to print recipes so that I can cook them, and even to take screen shots of book recommendations or ads of things that I want to purchase. I do understand that some people abuse these things, but don’t treat us all as abusers. Besides, I am sure that the true abusers will find a way around this soon enough, so only the legitimate users will be inconvenienced. If I bought a paper copy of the magazine I could copy it and distribute it, tear pages out to keep, etc. I will have to seriously rethink using pressreader if this continues. Thank you for the response. Can I suggest an alternative of adding a unique hidden digital identifier to the screenshot that lets you know which account it came from? That way legitimate users are not inconvenienced, but you will actually be able to track down abusers if they distribute their screenshots. Meanwhile, I read my favourite cooking magazine last night, and I have seven recipes I want to try but can only print 3 of them...

Moi. Merci

Problems. I am a subscriber for more than a year. I had to deal with many glitches. Esp. Regarding my aditional membership to New York Times. I am not very happy. The customer service is very weak!

The best. While traveling anywhere in the world you can always stay in touch with home. We cruise a lot and our cruise line offers pressreader for free. Love it thanks.

App doesn’t open. Downloaded. Crashes 3sec into opening.

Gets Confused. App gets confused when it's in certain places (like aboard Air Canada flights, or in Hyatt hotels) and doesn't download your publications. Doesn't work too badly if you're at home, but for constant travellers, Pressreader can be very problematic.

Agree with heating issue. My iPad also heats up a lot when using this app. Worries me. Also, always updating, causing login issues every time. Super annoying. Would also be nice to have an option to stack different editions of same magazines rather than display them all. Other than those things it’s a great app. Also requires very frequent logging in. Even with the save my password feature on.

Enjoy the morning paper. Excellent assortment of magazines and newspapers. Sometimes the app is very slow in downloading. Also a couple times a month the app seems to get confused and selecting a paper or magazine can be difficult. Must be the Monday morning blues. But overall it is a good app with great content.

Love it!. I am a magazine addict! While I much prefer to have paper copies of magazines, Press Reader has been a great alternative to be able to track down and easily read magazines on the go. I also love that I can set up auto downloads so I don’t need to keep checking back for new titles - the app takes care of that for me so that my faves are waiting for me in my downloaded file! I used to carry around d multiple paper magazines but it is so much easier to just take my iPad along and have thousands at my fingertips so I never runout of reading material on the go!

Note of Caution. Exercise caution before signing up for this service!! The service has worked fine for me in terms of accessing and reading materials but it seems impossible to cancel a subscription if you decide to do that. I would like to cancel my subscription haven’t been able to find any way to do that. Each month in my account activity, it shows that the subscription “expires” on the monthly anniversary of my initial sign up; however, instead of expiring it auto renews!

Bien simple. Je me retrouve au siège social du plaisir pour les Yeux et l’Esprit

Love Hello. Truly I am enjoying all the magazines Thank you

Subscription disappeared. Very annoying. Then they requested I contact them but so far have heard nothing

Almost as good as the real thing!. No animated ads, annoying clickbait or content geared towards reduced attention spans. Preserves page layout for efficient and familiar reading experience. One downside - sometimes content doesn’t load the first time you turn to a page, leaving blank space instead. Usually fixed by flipping back to the page a few times.

No The Economist?. Sad that it doesn’t offer The Economist

Great access to quality reading material. Easy to use and always lots of great titles and newspapers from around the world.

Constant problems with auto downloading. For the past week and at other times, both of us are having problems with the auto download not working. Must go in and manually download even when we have the auto button selected. Most frustrating as it’s a constant problem. A wonderful Customer service rep contacted me and all the issues were resolved

Crashes in seconds now. I use this daily to read the local newspaper, unfortunately after the latest release, it would crash within a couple of seconds of the app opening and keep doing so. The work around that corrected this for me, was to remove the app and then reinstall it. Seems to work properly now. I will update should that change.

Super. Great to get the publications that i like. thanks

Good Resource. It’s a great resource but it does use a lot of battery time on my iPad.

Missing titles. Just wondering why I cannot get the Wall Street Journal, yet my relative who lives in another city close by can get it on his account, which is through a different library?

Trop cher. Bon produit, mais trop cher

“Listen “feature. Should be mandatory for all newspapers regardless of country .

Great reader but expensive.. Worth a try.

PressReader. Freezes and needs to be restarted quite often

Great Idea: Poor Product. While such an app is a great idea, this app constantly fails to perform adequately. It fails to load properly, freezes or quits working several times each month and sometimes several times a week. My suggestion would be that the app developers hire some high school kid to fix how this works.

Unable to sign in. Empty sign-in page. No options except for close button icon. Device -iPhone 13 pro max on latest ios version.

iOS printing problem. Will not print pages or screen shots in iOS 15

Press Reader for Newspaper. Press Reader is so much better than the newspaper’s own site. Zooming and flipping pages much easier and faster.

Fix it. I have to log in to my library account every 3 days. Now it’s not even letting me log in it keeps on circling.

constantly have to re-login if using library login. instead of saving our info this app makes you login like a new user every single time. ridiculous.

Version 5.4.1. Version 5.4.1 Full Screen off is now back again but still problems. The developers of PressReader have never given much consideration to accessibility for VoiceOver users. Now in the latest version, 5.4.1, they have reinstated the ability to turn Full Screen off again giving VoiceOver users the ability to access the menus. However, Now on the iPhone there is no way of starting the Listen feature from the open newspaper. Also on the iPhone, , the highlight on the Table of Contents, accessed from the top menu bar, is not visible to people with low vision on the new dark interface. The ''Listen'' feature makes PressReader an ideal choice for people with low vision or who are blind to be able to listen to the newspaper of their choice. Why don’t the developers of pressreader spend more time on making their app more accessible? For example, for VoiceOver users, if the Listen feature is accessed from the downloaded newspaper list one has to press the AM Radio button! Getting the VoiceOver labels correct might be a good start to improving accessibility.

Problème graphique depuis la dernière mise-à-jour. J’apprécie cette application, cependant, depuis la dernière mise-à-jour, à certains endroits, le texte est pixelisé à l’écran, ce qui rend le texte illisible.

New update is garbage. The new update that was supposed to fix bugs just made it impossible to open my subscribed papers. Looking for a new app

Reading features would be welcome. Having better sort options (ie downloaded, last open date, publish date etc) would be great. Also a great feature, particularly for magazine, would be a progress bar for how much has been read of a particular issue.

Was 5 star, not anymore. Since last “performance” update, downloads are extremely slow, previous version worked much better.

It’s getting worse not better. I find this app very frustrating every update causes problems now it’s just completely locked up so I’ve deleted it. What a waste of time.

Best news app ever. Bar none. Best app ever for reading news.

Looks like a good app. Looks like it would be my choice if not so expensive. Too bad there is not an option for those of us who would only access a few titles.

Great way to start the day. We travel lots and my newspapers are always with me no matter where in the world I am. I access the app through my public library which is easy. I get my news, editorials, sports at no cost what so ever - it is a must app. The downloads are endless.

Moved from Press Reader. Subscribed for many years. Started to get messages about taking screenshots in the newspapers I subscribed to, which I wasn’t doing. Reported to support and they told me to not take screen shots, which didn’t address my problem. Have also had ongoing issues with side bars that show up and reduce the reading space. Reported in the past and nothing done to address. Maybe app is getting long in the tooth as not much has changed over past 10 years. Have decided to move to Apple News+, which is less expensive when bundled with other Apple services. Still support newspapers I read but in a different format.

Slow. App is very glitchy lately- extremely slow to load issues that are already downloaded

Bog. Je ne sais pas pourquoi mais je lis mon journal et la la page disparaît et je reviens à la page d’ouverture de mon pad. Merci

Papers at your finger tips. It’s a great app as you can read the papers anywhere anytime. They Are always there first thing in the morning. It’s great if you are from Away and want to keep up With the news from your hometown!

Surchauffe.

Impossible to find my library. It’s the most frustrating, the select library or group function does not work. I just spent the last 30 mins trying to find New York public library, the search function does not seem to do anything! I give up.

A service I use daily. This service is a must in my daily routine. It has just gotten better with each version. Keep up the good work!

Memory nightmare. Deleting an issue does not delete it from the IPad. It takes more and more memory and becomes more and more unstable. You have to delete the entire app, re download, and re log in, about weekly. Not worth it.

Buggy and over priced. Used it for less than a month started asking me to resubscribe while i am already a premium subscriber 30 dollars is a lot to ask for plus they don’t have all the content to justify the price Reduce the price apple new+ is a perfect example

Incredible Resource. Very dependable site. If you desire timely access to most of the worlds best (and worst) print content, this is for you. Try Press Reader. At pennies a day, it is an unbelievable bargain.

Useless?. I cannot read, download, or do anything. Not even manage my account. So then, what is the point of this app? Browsing on the web is quite annoying, cant see everything full screen and the app is very useless.

Read out loud function not working. I used to love this app but it’s now buggy, read out loud function doesn’t work and the app shuts down unexpectedly, please fix!

Not Ready for Primetime. Downloaded this to read magazines from my local library. Tried for 15 minutes to sign in to my library but it doesn’t show in the list and the app insisted on showing libraries in Europe & India (I’m in the USA). Tried to sign back in with my email address and it won’t allow me to type in my email address. Truly one of the worst apps I’ve downloaded in years.

Thank you New York Public Library!. My library card gives me great access to the publications in my country or state and in other countries. I was surprised that the New York Times was not apart of the database; it is still a worthy app to download especially for hobbies and crafts(Simply Sewing) or games(Play Magazine).

Where is WSJ?. If you can not offer some sources anymore, you should send us a message to let us informed. For example, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal have gone, you should send a message to readers. If you are afraid of loosing readers, you should try to improve your service instead of hiding these important changes.

Great App. Great app -access to an amazing variety of print versions of newspapers and magazines-almost too many to enjoy

DO NOT GET!!! A NIGHTMARE. AVOID!!! interface is awkward and not thought through for readers (especially the ones in US). Unstable app. User profile is horrific. Seem to be designed to ensure I have a difficult and arduous time in managing my subscription (a sign of hiding something: if a firm makes it very difficult to cancel their “east to manage” your account ). I have requested to cancel my account - to no avail. They continue to charge, refuse to allow my access to their site. I am the legitimate owner of my account. UPDATE: after going through a very convoluted process of filing request to cancel my subscription, the organization finally cancelled my subscription. I do not trust them and put my bank on notice for any charge to be deemed as fraud.

What a wonderful app! Unbelievable!. Not sure what to say… Press Reader is wonderful! Get your library card and get two days free for magazines and newspapers on your IPhone or IPad. You will be completely satisfied! Derek Ragin

Problems crashing. I’ve read the paper on this app for years with no problems. Now, every time I try to open the New York Times (for the past several days), the app crashes. Please do something about this. Perhaps it is time for an update.

My fave app. Many newspapers available in seconds, easy to use and read. Very easy to browse and zoom. Best part is that the format is exactly as the paper is printed (without the ink on your hands).

Unprofessional. Not to deliver the newspapers for more than three days shows how unprofessional this company is. I won’t continue with that and I already canceled my Subscriptions. Anyway the news is always very old and there is no updates within a day. It’s all so old-fashioned.

What does the subscription cover?. You pay $30 a month to access up to date papers you can get anywhere but have to pay $2 for each older article? Seems useless.

Excellent support!. I had a problem with the app on my iPad and emailed customer support. Got an immediate response and Bryan worked with me until the problem was solved. Love PressReader!

Like reading the real thing. Awesome app for all news junkies worldwide you get to read the newspaper and magazine the way they were printed. Without getting your hands dirty or paying $$$$ for the imported material.

Piece of junk. Loaded this free app per instructions at the Air Canada lounge since they don’t have any magazines anymore. Nothing but glitches and frozen screens. Only 1 or 2 of the dozen magazines I downloaded will open up and the whole app freezes about every 4-5times I try to use it. I deleted the app and all data on my iPad 3 times but still the same glitches. Says I’m on a free trial but maybe you have to pay to get the mags to open? Piece of junk.

New York Times. To view the nyt need to purchase an expensive monthly subscription. And even with this subscription, the nyt won’t allow you to view its web version to view breaking news.

Thank you. I love it!. This is such an amazing resource. I’m appreciative for the hotspots provided by some libraries and businesses and also the access provided by the Department of Defense to Military Personnel. It’s a treasure. Thanks for this great service and app.

Great concept, wish could bookmark/save on NY Times. That equivalent of clipping newspaper articles is disabled for The NY Times (replica of the paper). Boo, not fully replacing the wood pulp newspaper yet.

No idea this app existed. But I’m glad it does. I am a print reader and still enjoy a newspaper in my hands but this app gives me access to print that I can’t get. It’s high quality viewing and easy to use. I’ll pat my back for having suggested to a couple of my favorites over the years to improve their e-version quality. Now someone has done it for them. All papers should sign on. Even the venerable NYT gives subscribers private access. A great idea. Thank you for providing this app. I’m grateful.

Much improved app. Great app. Cancelled my other news/mag apps. They can’t compete. I love perusing the newspapers of other nations to see their take on events.

Some developers shouldn’t. You know how they say, some people should never…we’ll some developers should not attempt to do UI on their own. On what planet would one ever use the first character of a word to start a search. That has got to be 2 to the n in possibilities. This app may please some people, but I’m deleting it to not propagate stupidity.

Perfect. Just like reading the actual newspaper! Thank you!

-1 star for reading out loud function. The one thing that is missing is that despite hd Siri voice in set as the main narrating voice and works perfect with any text in any app, this app is somehow using inferior voice which you really don’t want to listen to.

Wow!!. So much to chose from, why wouldn’t you like this App.? I enjoy the selection and the easy access especially when traveling!,

Best option out there.. Free access to newspapers with a library card 100% recommend.

Latest update broke ability to read newspaper (New York Times). The latest update (released on November 20 or 21, 2019) broke my ability to read the New York Times eNewspaper (using “Replica-like” format). Now, when I click on a highlighted article’s heading, I get to read only the first screen’s worth. The updated app refuses to recognize finger swipes to go to next page! This is on my Apple iPad running iPadOS 13.2.3. Please fix ASAP!

You’ll be Stuck. This app won’t let me change accounts from one library to another. After signing out and inputting all the information for another library (card), it defaults back to the original card from originally library. So I can’t read other titles that are offered from another library. Users with issues simply get a boilerplate robo reply.

Good idea poor execution. Reading the print style versions of the magazines and newspapers was easy on my iPhone and iPad, but the app gets in some sort of loop where it auto scrolls amongst my different issues, making reading impossible. Highly annoying.

Very nice app, can be 5 star if there was delete feature intuitive. Very nice app I am enjoying it, however had slight difficulty to delete downloaded issues of news paper / magazines.

Crash. Latest update constantly crashing

Best of the best. I love this app! Need to read many news on different languages. Everything is right here. Thank you PressReader! You are the best!

This Outage. What’s going on with this continuing outage? Interestingly, when you open the app, all you get is asking you to pay again, even if you’re already a subscriber. Can’t sign in because it times out. When is this going to be fixed?

Terrible authentication system leaves you locked out all the time. I’m subscribed through the King County Library System and need to constantly reauthenticate. Terrible user experience which renders this largely useless. As of late I can’t even find my library on the search screen that pops up, even though the account screen shows everything correctly. What a mess of an app!

App’s Unstable. Impossible to Search / Read Media. 1. App is unstable and impossible to search for media of Newspapers, Magazines, & Countries. Pressreader’s most unstable App in iTunes library. Including, iTunes history. Period! 2. Pressreader responded by email and admitted broken issues but offered NO credit. Sadly, decided not renew and even deleted account! 3. Have subscribed several times over years and loved Pressreader. But, for now and maybe next year Pressreader is bad choice. 😰😰😰

Good but needs work with library accounts. Overall a good app, and it’s easy to use. Only frustration is that the login for my local library frequently does not work and I have to log out and log back in to download newspapers. Hopefully it’s a bug that will be fixed in a future update

Love it, but ... Very good ap, but to only allow it to work on one device is not good. Customer Support basically told me to buy another subscription if I wanted to use it on my computer.

Pretty good. This app is pretty good from what I’ve seen I haven’t had a chance to use a lot but I will update my review as I go.

Zero stars if I could. Even if you’re not taking screenshots, the program accuses you of doing so constantly —and then finally stops showing you pages entirely. It’s offensive and irritating. Cure seems to be doing a re-install but even that only works temporarily.

Not ethical company. Press Reader is an unethical company. They bought News360, accepted paid subscription and shut down news aggregator service for over two months Before announcing that News360 was no longer viable . Next offering a new subscription service and an absolute kings ransoms - Buyer beware - Be honest , do good , don’t be deceptive scum

Terrible platform: don’t waste your money. Terrible platform. I’ve been using it for a year. They simply discontinued some publications (like, in Italy, the Messaggero newspaper and vogue Italy). When I asked for explanations the customer care service replied saying that those two papers were not being published because of COVID... which is completely false. Shame on you!

Save article problem. Cannot save articles on NYT online. Doesn’t work never did. Very disappointing.

Great app. I love the huge variety and selection of magazines this app offers. I just wish it offered more African American magazines.

Frustrating to the extreme. SO difficult to get The NY Times to consistently come up. Tried email and chat customer service to no avail. There is literally no phone customer service. Message just sends you to email address. Sincerely wish I could give zero stars. That is what this app deserves.

Press Reader - NY Times eRepilica. Having trouble downloading daily issues of NYT. Also, battery on iPad seems to drain so quickly when reading NYT on Press Reader. Any solutions to both of these issues? Thank you.

Crashes constantly. This was working fine until a couple of weeks ago, now when I try and read a newspaper the app opens and then almost immediately crashes, making it unusable
