TripIt: Travel Planner Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Great App but Pro edition not so much. I travel a lot (103k to date 2019) and my corporate travel is through concur so TripIt is a vital app for me. The interface and 90% of the app is fantastic. However, the pro part is where I have a tough time warranting the $48 membership. After nearly a year use of this App through all 103k and 93 flights I can say that Pro is not worth the price. 1. Point tracker is worthless considering most airlines/hotels/car rentals all have their own apps and typically have the most current data. 2. Go now works in US but it is rare that it works international and you have to have the app “always” on to work feature. 3. Security wait times I think the number of airports this actually tells you info for is very limited 4. Lounge fairly useless for frequent travelers who have access to airline specific 5. International info, quick reference guide is nice but certainly not worth annual paid membership alone 6. Share with family/friend, would be worth it if they didn’t require a Pro membership to view it! 7. Flight change is worthless to me because everything needs to be done through my corporate travel agency 8. Flight delay I have found the airlines own apps to often be more current

It’s handy but the Pro thing is not worth the money. I’ve been using this app for several years. I have been a general user and a Pro user at different times. I don’t see much benefit in being a Pro user. Airport maps can be googled, and I’m not sure what the other “Pro” benefits are, but it’s not much different from using the app without that. It is nice to have all my travel stuff in one place, but I used the Notes app to keep track before I had TripIt; TripIt does save a little time, when it works. Unfortunately it’s “import plans” feature doesn’t work a lot of the time, even when you would think it would, like when you make a reservation to park at LAX like thousands of people do every week. (I reported this over a month ago and it still has not been fixed) Anyway, in my opinion the app is worth using, but the Pro benefits are not worth paying for.

App doesn’t work well with Southwest. The TripIt app is good, but has a few flaws that needs to be addressed. First, it doesn’t play well with Southwest. One thing I hate is having to check-in on my flight for Southwest. The TripIt app used to paste my confirmation number into the Southwest checkin field. TripIt now opens the Southwest app and you have to go back to TripIt and copy your confirmation number and then go back to Southwest app to paste the confirmation number into the Southwest apps checkin field. This is a pain and not worth paying a premium. Secondly, gate change notices during my last flight where delivered 15 minutes after boarding my flight from Louisville to Los Vegas. If I wouldn’t have noticed a bunch of people get up and leave the gate I would have missed my flight.

Love TripIt. I have been using this app for many years and love it. I am a die hard trip planner and like to have everything and everything related to the planning easily accessible in one spot from anywhere. This is really the only app out there that comes close. In the past, I have used a combination of Google calendars, word docs, and powerpoints - this replaces everything. Even while on the trip, we continue to update details in TripIt so we have a journal of memories that we can enjoy later… I also want to call out the excellent tech and customer support that is offered. Very easy to ask questions and provide feedback by opening tickets through the app. The support team is very responsive and actually addresses the questions, rather than provide generic canned replies. The only thing that would make this better are: 1) Incorporate a “To Do” checklist for planning. There’s usually a hundred things you need to do like, Make kennel arrangements for the dog, Request mail hold, etc) 2) Be able to hide certain information when sharing the itinerary. Many times I want to send friends or relatives a link with overall itinerary info (dates, hotels, air, etc), but not necessarily share details like booking numbers, costs, and notes that are entered.

This app made me 600$ due to fight delay. I have had this app (free version) for several years and really just use it for basic construction of my itinerary. I have always found it helpful. I’m Sure it can do so much more but I haven’t taken the time to learn everything. THIS APP PROVED ITS WORTH ON MY PHONE FOREVER! My flight from Paris was delayed over 3 hours. Little did I know that there is a law (206) in the EU that reimburses flyers for delays over 3 hours. After we got back to the states, a day later I got a notification from the trip it app that United probably owed me money (600 euro). After I googled what this notification meant I started the process with United to get money for my flight delay. United is making good with offers of 600Euro or 1000$ travel credit. I would NEVER have known this if it weren’t for the trip it app. I am still amazed that trip it sent this notification. I tell all my friends about trip it!

Keeps me Organized and free from Worry. Tripit keeps my travel plans organized. I love how it tracks each element of my trip and as those elements are complete they are grayed out in the trip list. Confirmation numbers, addresses, hotel and travel, museum tickets, restaurant reservations, you name it, are all in one place. I starting using this app in 2016 for a vacation and have used it ever since for both business and personal travel. I have noticed that if you send itinerary plans via email to the app and there is a coincident trip registered (say, for a spouse’s trip over similar dates) the app doesn’t differentiate destinations but only time periods of travel. Still a great app. I have told friends, family, and colleagues about this app and I recommend it without reservation.

Invaluable App. I travel halfway around the world every month, and not always through the same airports. This app is essential in getting me to my flights on time and to the correct terminals and gates. I will often take up to 4 flights one after the other passing through as many countries, the interactive maps are key to me not getting lost when wondering through new airports where the signs are not in English. I also use it to check that my flights and hotel bookings are in the correct order and on the correct days, as changing the date line on these long trips means that I will check into hotels before I board flights (if in the same time zone). I’ve been using the pro version for a few years, and I am completely happy with the service and features.

Just a leisure traveler.... I may not travel as much as others, but maybe that’s why I need this more, to organise me like a professional. I love the ease of just forwarding confirmation emails to TripIt, and having all of the information imported automatically. Not just confirmation numbers, but ticket prices, web site info, car type, etc. Every item shows in my regular calendar, so I never have to enter anything twice - especially helpful when there are changes! The notifications are a godsend when there is a flight or gate change - I get them before I get the airline’s - once I was able to rebook the last two seats on another flight, and I know it’s because I knew about the cancellation a few minutes before the rest of the plane. I use this for everything!

Good but still falls short.. Love the app concept but still falls short of being totally the app to use while traveling. Love the updates that come faster then the airlines giving gate changes and flight information. Love being able to store my documents in a digital age of electronic tickets and check ins. But this is where the app falls short. I have the pro version yet I’m limited to 25 downloads. I go to Europe so between flights and entrance tickets I’m over my allotted downloads. So I need to search for another app where I can have all my downloads under one trip. I also wish the note portion was more interactive and fluent. I don’t like having to hit the edit button just to see the limited viewing area of the notes. It would also be great to have interactive buttons so after I visit something it’s like a check off list. Otherwise the notes are not the best.

Bad calendar import feature!. Love this app, except for calendar import feature, which imports WAAAY too much stuff — and I can’t delete the crap from my calendar!! Today, I reserved through SpotHero a parking spot in a garage in the city where I live, and TripIt put TWO calendar entries on my iPhone calendar: one, an all-day appointment for a one day trip to my own city (WTH?!?), and the second an appointment to remind me when to pick up my car. There is no way to remove either appointment, even after I deleted the trip on TripIt. There is no way to adjust which emails TripIt will turn into an itinerary and put on my calendar. The calendar import feature is very convenient and I don’t want to turn it off, but it appears the app only accommodates an all-or-nothing selection on that point. I have no apps linked to TripIt, so this is definitely a TripIt issue. Please make this adjustable and smarter!!! My calendar is too cluttered with real stuff to make room for fake itineraries and appointments.

Useless App. On my last trip, this app signed me out so frequently that I never had easy access to information when I needed it most. As a result, I was left standing around at busy airports trying to remember a password so that I could know where I needed to go for my hotel or frantically trying to sign in to the app so I could check in for a flight. In addition, there is an app for Apple watch but when the phone app signs you out, you no longer have access to information on your watch either! This app actually made my fltravel experience worse! If you want to be that guy (or lady) holding up people at a busy airport while you look up information, this is the app for you. If the developers would at least make an option to adjust how often this app signs out, include a facial recognition feature, or eliminate signing out entirely, the app would be 1,000,000 times more useable. In it's current state, the app is unreliable and adds another annoying step to the already complicated task of managing business travel.

The best travel app by far!. I have used a number of travel apps over the many years for both extensive personal and professional travel and Tripit is by far the most comprehensive, accurate, and ubiquitous application for organizing all of my travel plans. I use the free version of TripIt for several years and then paid for the Pro version due to the extensive features that were available. Regardless of what platform I am on, I can get my data, add or edit it as necessary and can forward it to other interested persons. I can usually forward my travel plans to other Tripit users as well as sending them by email. Gate change information is often faster than I receive from various airlines. Hands down the best available travel app on the market.

Unfriendly data input, not intuitive. I have a love-hate relationship with this app. It’s great once you get your info in, and I like that I can attach digital tickets and documents to it. But the data input drives me bat$#!t crazy and needs serious improvement: 1. When you input the start date of an activity, it would make sense for the end date to default to the start date you used, since many activities start and end the same day. But it keeps your default end date as TODAY’s date, and you have to adjust it from today, just like you did with the start date. 2. Worse though, is whenever I need to edit the start time of an activity, it TURNS BACK the activity’s date to TODAY. OMG, who on earth thinks that when I’m editing an activity time for a trip that’s dated for 6 months from now that I’m suddenly having that dinner TODAY? It also reverts the end date to TODAY, at which point I’m pulling my hair out and about to throw my phone out the window.

Best travel app to see your travel itineraries. All you have to do is forward your travel emails to TripIt and the app does it all! Have EVERYTHING in one place: plane, trains, rental cars, hotels, restaurants reservations, museums, you name it! Easy to find anything while traveling. Ultra easy to use (there’s another option for the app to gather reservations directly from your email but I use several emails so I like the forward option). You can also add other travelers to your itinerary and you can also share the main info without showing your reservation codes (“look mom, these are all the hotels where we’ll be staying in Europe”). An absolute MUST HAVE app. Bonus: at the end of the year it shows you how much you traveled and by which transportation means and to how many countries and cities. I just LOVE that feature.

Hang for planning, sharing, and archiving trip details. I’ve been using TripIt for nearly 15 years to organize and share my travel details with companion travelers and at the same time with family members at home. Much more efficient than spreadsheets or emails because everyone always has access to the most current info. Handy flight check-in reminders and other features too. Plus it’s great to easily be able to look up older trips to answer those questions like, “what was the name of that hotel we stayed at in that place back in 2012” or, “when was it that we took that trip to xxxx” I recommend TripIt to all my friends and family when we’re talking about travel. 👍👍

Worth It!!. I love this app in Pro version! It works as a concierge, travel agent, reminder, and will even give alerts if you are elegible for a better fare. This feature alone has paid for the annual app multiple years. The app will even remind you when you should leave for the airport to allow time for traffic and check in. If the gate changes, you get a reminder. It will provide you with a layout of the airportI so you know where to go. The app will also let you know of available lounges within the airport. It also keeps track of your mileage reward program with airlines and hotels. You can share your trip itinerary with friends and/or coworkers. A new feature If traveling out of the country, it will provide you with vital information so you know what to expect exchange rate, type of electrical adapters you may need, etc. I have only touched on a few benefits, there are a lot more. Well worth it!!

Helpful in many cases but may get confusing if you change bookings. My original review of TripIt was negative, and I did not expect to continue using it. TripIt was not too helpful when I had to keep changing my bookings due to New Zealand Covid regulations. Frankly, Covid has thrown a scanner into just everything. However,8 have now recognized that this is a good app and is pretty darn helpful on a stable itinerary, which, with good luck, will be the case soon after 2022. I’ll use TripIt on my next trip later this year, & I think it was the frequent changes I’ve had to keep making to plans due to wild New Zealand Covid travel rules that threw off my initial experience with TripIt. I will say also that their customer satisfaction people contacted me after my initial review to help with my TripIt issues, and they did it in a very timely and impressive manner. So now I am at four stars - maybe five stars after next trip. However, I still think that this app is terrific for travel plans that don’t change, and is problematic if you do have to make multiple changes to travel plans.

I adore TripIt - Sharing Trips with others needs work. I adore TripIt — I’ve been using it In some form or another since way back in 2008 - yikes I’m old! It really is effective in getting itinerary into one app and then integration into my device’s calendar is also great! I really like the auto import via a gmail account (usually the app has been focused on flying but I’m thrilled that the train itineraries are a bit better - especially Amtrak) I will say one area that really needs to be streamlined is sharing plans with non-TripIt users. In the app there are a few options, all of them not great. In the app, sharing a plan results in a mumbojumbo of unformatted texts, the iMessage feature doesn’t seem to be accessible to non TripIt users although they can see the thumbnail. I know inner circle can see plans but I think there needs to be a more streamlined process. What I do when sharing plans as a work around? I simply screenshot and message. Perhaps that’s all that needed in a future update! Anyway like the product some areas could’ve streamlined but this is definitely one of top three apps I use for travel!

Making Live Easier and Organized. This is a great app and it has worked for me 98% from the time I downloaded it for my iPhone. I travel 25 weeks a year and this has made me more organized and efficient. I email my air, hotel, train or car rental confirms to Tripit and with in minutes it's all on my iPhone. To have a single place to have ALL of my travel info is a dream. I use to be in the back of a cab and the driver would ask "What is the address of the hotel?" I would have to open my briefcase backpack find the file, find the hotel info and tell the guy, then get to the hotel and go through the process again at the hotel when they can't find my confirm number. Now I look at the specific trip on TripIt and it's all there. If you are a business traveler this is an awesome app. I was so impressed with the free version I upgrading to the paid version. Thanks TripIt, keep the updates coming, it just keeps getting better and better.

Don’t leave home without TripIt!. Before I retired, I traveled extensively for my job, and TripIt was the only way I could keep track of where I was going, which hotel I was staying at, what rental car company I was using, and which events I was required to be at. All of this info also synched to my Google calendar so I never booked meetings at the same time as I was flying! Now that I am retired and doing a lot more leisure travel, the same situation’s are remedied by TripIt. I now I’ll keep track of everything including leisure activities. As I am planning my international travel, with the upgraded version, I have access to multiple resources regarding each country I’m visiting, for example, what the COVID requirements are. I don’t know what I would do without TripIt.

Favorite App. I travel often both for business and with my big family. This has been a game changer. Not to have to print out anything and have everything in order with added details on telephone numbers, weather, directions links. besides the ease of just forwarding play tickets, car rentals, hotel and flights, it takes a cruise itinerary and put some in the correct day saying where you’re going and when you get off to the ports and when you have to be back on the ship etc. So excellent. A side benefit I found now that I’ve been using it for 10 years is I have a whole travel journal right here in the app. Can look up previous hotels, miscellaneous companies used for transportation and whatever. Request for the developers: when I have a listing of flights etc. (particularly for more than one person), the apps at-a-glance screen does not have the name listed. So you have to go into that plan and scroll down and Click under passengers and in that page it’ll show you who the reservation is for. It would be much more convenient to have the name on the first or second line for a quick reference.

Easy Trip Planning. Most all trips weather they be for work/aiding a need, educational/exploratory, or just leisurely/vacation. you can bet it will require a great deal of planning, coordination, and communication to pull it off without a hitch. That's why I am very glad I found trip planner, as a father of six amazing children, any trip can quickly escalate into a huge undertaking. Tripit makes the entire production of planning a successful journey seem easy, as a simple, and even fun, application to log every last contact, phone number, reservation, confirmation, to the last detail. it doesn't stop there! Once the trip begins Tripit is still there to help, not just as a reference tool, but provides safety reports for each event based on it's local crime stats, provides directions and maps one with simple push, gets you from here to the next activity on time. Now the icing on the cake, it even assists you in capturing, documenting, and organizing the amazing experience each event brings, by providing individual notes sections, ane even a place to store photos within each event. Tripit is definitely a must have app when planning any trip. Because it allows you to focus on the experience, while Tripit is handling all the plans! And MORE!!! You're my personal Tripit planning assistant!!!

Love this App!. I plan my own vacations, including transportation, rooms and tours. It’s so easy to keep it all organized with a TripIt. I just forward the confirmation emails (no explanation needed) to TripIt plans and they list it all in chronological order, with all the details, so I can view it on line or print out the list. I get an alert when it’s time to check in for my flights, along with a link to the airline’s sight. Recently on of my upcoming flights was delayed (after check-in). TripIt informed me that I couldn’t make my connecting flight, and gave me a list of alternate flights. It was sooo easy to change my flight, because I had all the information I needed. I even get a notice if I don’t have accommodations at a location for which I booked tours. And there’s so much more! I highly recommend this service!

Disappointed. I pay premium each year. It’s great that it syncs with concur. But, manual addition of trips is pathetic from an interface perspective. It also merges trips rather than creating new trips when bookings come over from concur. Mixing trips because the end date of one overlaps with beginning date of next. For example, tonight I had to manually separate two trips. I had to execute the move option three times. Each time it looked like the flight and car were moved to a new trip. I would then look but no new trip in my trip list. I would refresh. Still no trip. I would go back into the original trip and the mixed travel plans were still there. I moved them again. Eventually, two new trips showed in my trip list but were empty. The original trip which was mixed had all of the bookings still in one trip. One more move and it finally stuck. Mail in feature of adding flights, hotels, and car rentals does usually work. If it were not for that feature, I would cancel my subscription.

Great App, Needs improvements. This app has been great as I have been planning a family trip, however, it needs small improvements be be 5-Star. (To be fair, I did purchase the upgrade version) 1. Add attendees once as “Travelers” and allow us to connect to every activity/event instead of having to re-enter them - You could allow us to add to the app, then link to the trip, then choose for each activity. 2. Connect directions to maps (Add ETA). Map view directions have not been working 3. Add ability to customize “Add a Plan” 4. Connecting accounts to “Point Tracker” does not always work I’d recommend trying the app and using the basics. 5. Once you set a location, it should keep directions from one place to another. 6. Reservations that have multiple parties should be able to be updated The above items should be apart of the upgrade IMO, but definitely worth the purchase especially for large travel groups (we have 14 traveling with us on the first trip I used this app for).

Good travel App but can be improved. The app is good and practical. Since WorldMate's discontinuation (the best App that was available to manage trips in my view), TripIt Pro is the App that I find to be the closest to it. After trying many others that are available in the App Store, I found TripIt to be the best one out there. Well thought with good features. However, I would suggest two improvements to it: 1. To allow flight searches from within the app. No need to have the option to buy tickets from within the app but it would be very helpful to be able to search for flights independently from any saved trip (this option was available in WorldMate). 2. It would be very helpful to have the possibility to add trips' information on already existing calendars without having to subscribe to a new one (currently, one has to subscribe to a new TripIt calendar). This is particularly true when your calendar is accessible to your assistant and/or colleagues so they can check your availability.

A Must for Avid Travelers. I travel 150k miles a year and this app makes my life so much easier before and during travels. Oftentimes, I know my flight is delayed before even heading to the airport because of pro features. I also know how to navigate complex airports when connections are tight. But my favorite (and free!) feature is when something is booked, it’s automatically in the app as a trip, and trips with multiple bookings, multiple destinations and legs are all organized nicely in order so I always have the full picture. When checking in or renting, I have the confirmation numbers right there so I never have to search through emails or print anything. If you want a more organized travel experience, I highly recommend this app.

Freakishly frustrating and sometimes great.. User interface is inadequate from iPad and iPhone. No ability to copy(duplicate) an event. No drag and drop. No ability to have overlapping vacation schedules and keep the entries separated between two users. Unable to add some details for some events, for example, an end time not available for some activities. Notes not available to add in some events. Unclear interface caused me to accidentally merge two different vacations into one “trip”, losing duplicate records which had extensive comments added. Under a cruise ship port (e.g. The port for Athens) overwrites all port notes for other ports on the same cruise. Look, if you are going to another port, why would you want to a) loose your comments regarding transportation in Venice and b) what use would Athens transportation have on the day you are in Venice. I have loved this software. I’ve used it for a half dozen trips or more. The software successfully imports most airline tickets, train tickets, and hotel reservations, etc. via a simple forwarded email. This part is very elegant in creating a calendar of a trip. It is really useful. Just travel alone or have the exact same itinerary as anyone you travel with. With this combined trip, I want to pull out my hair.

No way I could do it better!. This app has been my go to for about six years now. I travel a lot for work and for Personal, so I’m constantly dealing with flight details, hotels, rent cars, reservations for activities and restaurants, National park entries, etc. there is no way I could keep all of this stuff organized enough for it to all makes sense. This app has saved my bacon so many times! The reminders are helpful and all of the details for every single trip (that you send) are included. I’ve also been able to get great support from TripIt when a reservation goes to the wrong trip or something like that. It’s really the best travel app if you’re constantly on the go. Let TripIt organize your travel!

Two basic functions done well, the rest of the app is unimpressive. This tool began as a master itinerary planner. You email them your itineraries from multiple sources (hotel, airline, restaurant, etc.) and it puts them together into a trip plan. This function is strong even if some small details (like sending a subsequent updated itinerary may lead to two of the same flight showing on the same date, which you then have to manually edit) can be trying. The other strong function is the points tracker, which is informative but not as critical as the trip planning tool. However, other functions sound good on paper but don’t have the usefulness a discerning traveler requires. Take the seat tracker for example. If you book a premium economy seat on BA and want to search for an outside aisle seat, you can search for aisle seats in front of the wing, behind the wing, or anywhere. This cabin can be both on and behind the wing so there’s no way to narrow the search appropriately. And if you want a premium economy cabin seat, you have to add the cabin to economy rather than say you want only premium economy. If you want an outside aisle seat (not a middle aisle), forget it - that’s not an option. So this app is the epitome of good intentions poorly delivered. But still worth using if you don’t expect too much.

A useful tool to keep you updated - Update. I had been using World Mate until it was withdrawn from the market. Was at first reluctant to use TripIt pro but after a week I couldn't remember all the flights, rental cars and hotels booked by our travel department. So I enrolled and was pleasantly surprised. Timely push notifications. Timely reminders. Accurate notifications. What more could one ask? After all it's not supposed to travel for you. You still have to do your due diligence. I have now been using TripIt Pro for over a year. It is my fundamental go-to for all things related to travel. Want a gps-driven map? Press the address of the hotel you’re booked at. Want to be updated on gate changes? TripIt Pro sends you push notifications with latest information.

Most flexible trip organizer. I have used this for more than five years. I’ve tried a few other trip organizers and always go back to this. I am still amazed how quickly everything automatically, magically gets added to this app. That’s the most important thing, flight times, layover lengths, etc. The logistics of the flights should I mostly use it for. It even automatically imports paid shuttles on one end or the other of the flights. It really couldn’t be easier to use and a ton easier than searching for emails. There are a few notes and related things sometimes but I would like to add and it’s easy to add them manually. I add, for example, a restaurant in the airport to visit, or the first destination I need to hit after a flight, or location to pick up ski passes, related things like that. This app is so flexible.

TripIt is my “Go to” for planning and seeing big trips!. I’ve been using TripIt for several years no - snd just love it. When we take big vacations there can be LOTS of bookings all associated with the trip. This app (and its website version) allows me to take all of my confirmation emails from various bookings (flights, rental cars, hotels, paid side trips, etc.,) and send them to be entered chronologically into my one trip itinerary. Each day I can look at it and follow along with it being the repository of ALL the details of those bookings (times, dates, addresses, seat assignments, confirmation #s ) in just one place. Obviously you can keep your printed copy of all that as supporting documentation. But this keeps it almost paperless. Lastly you can edit any entry w/ extra info if it makes something clearer , or you can even hand enter anything that doesn’t have s corresponding email. We love it and depend on it! Thanks TripIt!👍

Oh how I love thee!. I’ve been using Tripit for umpteen (OK, maybe 5 or 6?) years to keep track of our trips. We are retired and travel very frequently. It’s difficult keeping track of all of the details, but Tripit does the heavy lifting for us. Most of our airfare is booked using points, so I had never had occasion to use the price protection feature where the app “supposedly” pays for itself. Well guess what? It does! Today I booked a trip using an ecredit, and lo and behold, a few hours later I received a notification that Delta had reduced the fare for my trip by $130. I used the link provided by Tripit, contacted Delta, did an on-line chat, and boom, received a $130 credit on a $1507 fare. Hey, the app was worth it before, for serving as a repository of all of our travel information, and keeping it straight. Now, it truly has paid for itself. I LOVE this app.

Seriously the BEST travel app in existence. My husband and I travel a ton. I travel a lot for work, and then we travel with our two young children multiple times a year. I used to maintain Google docs and manually update all the details to make sure we had a stress free trip. This replaces all that manual work, and it’s SO CONVENIENT to see everything in one place, in chronological order. Sometimes it even gives more information than you get from the airline apps. I can’t tell you the number of times my husband and I talk about how great this app is. It’s literally every trip. Our last trip my husband said he’d delete the mail app on his phone before he’d delete trip it. Just download it. There is nothing better out there.

Works really well during Covid-19. This is the best trip assistant app ever!!! I’ve been using this app from when they launched and always loved it so far. In this COVID-19 situation traveling is not the same. Flights gets canceled, rerouted, delayed all kinds of things happen. This is what just happened. Delta canceled one of my international flights. I found this out because TripIt warned me. Delta never mentioned anything to me. I’m a “Diamond, one million miler” status but Delta never notified anything. When I got the flight cancellation notice from TripIt and nothing from Delta I almost thought TripIt might have made a mistake. I logged into Delta web page and site enough my international flight was canceled. I was able to switch to alternative route so I’m ok but I’m amazed by the promptness and accuracy it TripIt. I already could not trace without TripIt. Now I can’t even plan without TripIt. Love this app !!!

Perfect way to organize travels!. I’ve been using this app for 2 years. My husband and I travel a few times a year and have found that this app is our “go to” way to organize ourselves. We can share the itinerary with each other and our friends and family super easy. It’s a perfect way to track as much or as little details as needed. I love how easy it is to reference and especially love the clean print out I can print!!! I do wish there was an easier way (cleaner way) to track expenses for reference or an option to include in the final summary. There is an area where you can add total cost under “Booking info” ... currently I’ve been adding under “Notes” so it will show up easier. We have not found anything better than this app to coordinate, track, record and share our trip info.

Tripit is unbelievable. I don’t know what we would do without Tripit. Just our last trip, waiting in an airport restaurant, we sat next to a couple who was headed out on an extended trip. Eventually she got out her “file”. You know what it was. A printout of every email and snail mail confirmation she’d received for their trip. It had to be 2” thick. She rifled through the pages looking for the answer to her partner’s question. Outrageous. It’s like I’ve often told my wife about auto GPS’s, “it’s a good thing they were invented because it was just getting to the point where we could not possibly keep up with the twists and turns of the highway system.” Well we couldn’t possibly keep track of all our travel plans either. With all the changes, delays, incentives, connections, delays, gate changes, travel would be a nightmare. Like my car gps, I no longer try to figure out the route, i just take the turns it tells me to take. Same with TripIt. It’s like having a personal concierge at my side making the right decisions for me and telling me where to go when. Awesome app, get the picture?

Security Blanket. I have been using Tripit since 2017 and I love this app. I am fully retired now and I travel to Europe a lot more. This app tells me when to leave for the airport and gives me updates every step of the way. I’m notified of changes flight changes before the airlines post them for the general public. I recently took a trip to Switzerland and was notified before the airline posted it. Before we got off of the plane I knew which carousel our baggage would be delivered to. My wife previously thought I relied on the app to much and was always trying to prove me wrong. Now she quietly relies on the information provided by Tripit. It’s like traveling with security blanket. I use pro version, which comes with a subscription, but for just a couple of dollars per month is well worth the cost for me. I really like that I have an accurate record of all my travels over the years and no longer have to guess when I went where.

Favorite Travel Planning App. I have used Tripit since 2017. In that time I have planned 58 trips, for a total of 319 days, 4 countries, 101 cities and 40,800+ miles. I love this app because it allows me to keep everything pertaining to each trip in one place, including travel documents, like passport and drivers license information, all information about reservations for lodging and my daily itinerary. Reservation confirmation emails are automatically imported and added to my itinerary. Past trips are saved so I can always look back to get information that I can use to plan a future trip to the same location. The Pro edition has even more information, such as flight information as you travel. I don’t fly very often, so I have not tried the Pro edition, but I am sure it works as well as the basic version. I would definitely recommend it.

Love this App. This is arguably the best loved of all my apps. I’m a user since 2013, first free, then paid, and I call myself the “Tripit Evangelist.” The paid option will bring a smug smile to your face as you sleep past 3am get up and go time, just because Tripit let you know the night before the flight has been delayed by 5 hrs. Or you stand in the Frankfurt Airport - ALL systems down, total blackout (yes in Germany!) - and you’re the ONLY one in the whole place who knows their gate change!! You’re the one advising the Lufthansa desk!!! Love the new travel stats too. One feature that I would like to see, is a search function to find quickly how many times and when I’ve been to a particular place, city or country, Please, please, please you smart developers, work on this!

Unhelpful Customer Service. I used to love this app, especially after I upgraded to the pro version. However, the app no longer acknowledges my subscription even though I have been paying the annual dues for serval years now. I logged out & back in, I even deleted and reinstalled the app, but no luck. I contacted customer service and they requested proof that I paid for the subscription as my account is only showing I am signed up for the free app. I sent in multiple forms of proof of purchase and their response was for me to log out of & back in to the app. I informed them I had already tried that and they have not been able to offer any further solutions. Find another travel app…if things go wrong for you, the support team will just have you running in circles. Update: per the developer’s response, it is obvious they did not read my entire review. Especially the part where I stated that I had already informed the support team that their recommendation didn’t work. Take this as further proof to not upgrade to the pro version. The developer & support teams do not listen and do provide any help. Save your money!

Tripit saved my holiday. I have never felt compelled to write a review about an app before but I wanted to share my recent experience. My friend and I were scheduled to fly out on December 26 and in the middle of the night (1:45 am) I heard the distinctive alert from the TripIt app. I woke up to see that my morning flight had been canceled. I looked at my emails, the app from the airline, my texts and there was not a single notification from the airline. I confirmed on the airline website that the flight had indeed been canceled and that leg of my trip was completely gone from my itinerary. I realized that if I waited to get to the airport any other flight options would have been gone. This gave me several hour lead time on all of the other passengers to be able to find a great flight alternative. In addition, I rely on putting all of my plans in the TripIt app which helps keep track of confirmation codes reservation numbers and keeps everything in the correct time zone. I will never not use this app when traveling.

Pro paid for itself. I only travel a few times a year, so I’d made do with the free version of TripIt. However, I decided to try Pro during a promotional price offer. And I’m glad I did — within a couple of days of signing up, I was notified of a price change for an upcoming flight, along with a wonderfully detailed email explaining how to try to request a refund for the difference. One phone call and 5 minutes of my time and I have a $57 refund for the price drop. The other features are great as well. The one time I had trouble importing a car rental reservation, I sent them the problem file and they updated their software to account for the changes in the confirmation email within a few days. Really happy with the app so far!

Travel Scheduling at its finest!. I enjoy using TripIt. It’s easy to forward confirmations to the planit email and update an itinerary. I travel every other week and gives me flight notifications almost before the Airline sends me their notifications! Only reason I didn’t put 5 stars is because I wish there were additional options for the itinerary. It’s great for reservations and confirmations, not for activities.... I used this when I went to Europe twice and we literally had a schedule for every part of the day including working out. I wish there were options of..... workout, hiking, drive time, and a way to move the activities around throughout the day rather then put a specific time. Also would be nice to delete ALL the sections that don’t need to be fill out. It’s a tad clunky to use TripIt on the computer and sometimes it doesn’t save or update my entries. I was a little frustrated at first, but just constantly save my updates. Overall, I enjoy using it. But I also wish I could share the itinerary with people without them having to pay for it. That’s a bummer.

A good app for planning travel with a group that has some pluses on a big minus.. I’ve been using KAYAK for a while to plan and share trip information, but it isn’t a perfect tool, so I thought I’d try TripIt for a while. It is easy to add your plans to TripIt, just forward it reservation emails; Kayak does this too. You can also enter or change details manually. Tripit is somewhat better than kayak for this. With TripIt, it is easy to share a trip with participants who can update the trip with you (e.g. one person works on transportation, another on lodging, etc). The whole trip collaboration thing is easier with TripIt than KAYAK. The subscribed calendar support in KAYAK is much better than TripIt. With KAYAK you can see all your trips, including flights and lodging, on your device calendar. I can easily see how my trips fit into all my other plans. Other people can see my trips on their calendars too. I just share a calendar link with friends and family so they can see where I am and how to reach me on their own device calendars without using the kayak app at all; they like that. Tripit also supports subscribed calendars, but doesn’t include the detailed plans. This is a showstopper for me; it should be straightforward for TripIt to improve their support, but until they do, I’ll stick with KAYAK.

Simply amazed!!!. So I just came across the gem today, and I’m very impressed actually blown away. It tells me to email my itinerary and it’s gonna automatically going to on this on the app for me, for FREE?! I’m like this can’t be real. Someone is gonna sit there and put this information on a schedule for me for free. Ha ha. Within one minute after I email one itinerary after the next, it’s already uploaded into the app in sequential order from my flight to the days I’m on my cruise to the hotel, before and afterwords everything. Like how!!! I don’t know how they have a program to do this and I don’t care. This is the best thing since sliced bread. I guarantee it ha ha absolutely love it can’t wait for more goodies that I will find using this wonderful app, thank you so much for making my life a lot easier.

Top 3 of all apps. All time. Ever.. Since I started using this app, I have travelled 1,482,337 miles. I LOVE this app. I travel a lot for work (and holidays) and being able to email my booking confirmations, private and work and have them all in one place is fantastic. It changed my travel routine. Rather then show up with a folder of different printed confirmations, it’s all laid out in one place. My wife and I share our itineraries and it’s great for family trips where we book different parts. Its like I have a brilliant assistant with programming knowledge. Just bring a battery pack for your phone after a long flight :-) I try hundreds of apps each year but after many years using this app it is still the most useful thing on my phone after the calendar and mail app. Seriously, I have emailed booking confirmations as PDF’s, word docs, email etc from some really funky airlines and it’s rarely missed a beat. My only suggestion to the developers to improve on perfection might be to tie in with one of the flight map apps so I can see on the plane which country I am flying over. Those guys have nothing like the capability you do, so a tie in could be cool. Thanks again for all the travel hassle you guys saved!

Great for price reduction alerts and check in reminders. If you’re a frequent traveler, this is for you! The free subscription is great to keep track of your travel plans, especially when coordinating plans with other people. The You can link your email account and TripIt will monitor automatically for me reservations or you can simply forward reservations to an email address to be added to you itineraries. The pro subscription it worth the money. It monitors for price drops in fairs - this has already paid for it self a few times over for me! It will reminder you to check in to your flight 24 hours and 5 minutes from your flight. This is great if you fly southwest and don’t have auto-check-in status.

Customer service is lacking. Many bugs. I used TripIt pro for two years very happily, and then somehow my ex partners email address became associated with the account, And it kept requesting his password which I did not have access to. It was impossible to purge his email address from the account, so I let my subscription run out so that I could start completely fresh. I even neglected the offer to renew at half price, and bought the full new subscription for $49, to avoid any association with my old account. When I went to begin syncing my new TripIt pro account with my iCal and other options offered, it informed me that the function could not be completed because there was already an identical account using my email. There is no way to get real-time assistance from a live chat or call anyone. If you have a problem you have to wait a couple of days for them to email you back, and even then there is no guidance to walk you through fixing the problem. I’ve wasted many hours of my valuable time trying to get the service that I have paid for. Very disappointed and frustrated! 😟

Great function. All my travel plans are in one place. I often get notified of gate changes even before they are announced at the airport which is helpful and amazing. I like having my trips logged so I can see the history of miles, flights I taken snd cities I’ve visited. Gives me wonderful memories when looking at those stats. Great app and I love it! Can’t recommend it more than I already do. Thank you.

Europe Trip. Recently completed a trip covering England Scotland and Malta with cat hire and accommodation throughout. As soon as I booked anything such ascar picking up and return the details and dates and times were imported to TripIt automatically. Although I could have done the trip without TripIt, TripIt just made it so much easier by building the itinerary event by event. It’s a must have in my opinion.

Love this app. This app is so simple and easy to use. Simply forward booking emails and wa la.. itinerary done with added maps and directions. Easy to share with family and friends. Great to share details when travelling independently and meeting up at some point. If you get delayed, they know where you were last, what flight you are on etc, the hotel you are staying at. Makes finding each other easy if things go wrong.

Used to be good. I used to use TripIt for all my travels I usually used TripIt pro and it often sent me gate changes before the airlines did ! It was such a great tool and recommended ut to every body .I recently upgraded to TripIt pro on a half price offer ,I am so disappointed I uploaded my itinerary and the flight times are all wrong ,they have not been copied from my itinerary so not useful at all as get no gate reminders etc .Flights all listed for the wrong times . Keeps disconnecting with my Ff points app. I am so disappointed as it was so great and I used it all the time when travelling But it is 5 years since I used it and this time tripitpro was useless. In the end it was reminding me to check in for a flight I had already had the day previously .

Why is it rated so high ?. User interface is dated and doesn’t provide the relevant info at first glance. Importing of trip details failed, multiple times. 3 separate trips, flights, hotels and all that, not a single one imported. I’m sure you can do a lot with this app, but by the time you incorporate everything and set things up, what’s the point in the app? You’ve done everything yourself and the layout of the information you put in is incoherent. I’m sure the app works for most people, but I want the app to do the work, and not have to pay $77 for what i could get for free.

Can’t live without TripIt!. This is one of my “must have” apps. Keeps our trips organised and all of the details and bookings together. My husband and I pay the annual fee for Pro version and find the features well worth the money. We often get a gate change text message from TripIt before this information is even displayed on the airport information boards. It doesn’t get better than that!

Fantastic travel app. Amazing app for automatically storing all travel & accommodation details in the one place and giving a simple overview of an upcoming trip as well as recording all previous trips. You can set it to monitor your email inbox and it will add flights/accommodation/etc automatically, alternately you can forward any email you want it to file and it identifies the data in the email and adds it to your trip. They have perfected the free vs paid model - something that many apps fail dismally. Keep doing this well and you will keep growing in the future. The free version (which I have used for many years) works completely without restricting your use of the app or bombarding you with ads or videos. The paid version has extra features which benefit frequent travellers (as well as those that are time-poor) such as advising of gate changes and if lower fares become available for a flight, potentiality saving them much more money than the subscription price.

Won't travel without it. Finding all your travel information in emails, calendar entries, itinerary PDFs etc is painful and problematic. Tripitt does it all for you. Just email your itinerary or dog is to the Tripit Travel Plans email address and TripIt automatically creates a detailed itinerary for you. Subscribe to your TripIt feed with your calendar app, and you'll have all your flights, accommodation, car rental and activities available at a glance.

Excellent App. Have been using this app for several years now. Excellent. What would be a good addition (unless it is there and I have missed it) is a copy option to repeat a previous entry into the same trip. I can see you can copy into a new trip but I can’t find an option to copy the same information to the next day for example or to another location in the same travel itinerary. I often just add an activity with nothing more than a title of LEISURE for when I dont have a specific thing planned at the time of creating the itinerary. For example staying in one location for seven days and I just create the LEISURE activity title for each of the seven days. It would be great to create one and say be able to copy that entry forward for several days. Another Suggestion: Option to move the entire trip to new dates for those occaisons where you need to cancel but still want to take the trip exactly as created but on a later start date. Auto adjusting all dates would be useful. COVID19 is a great example of having to cancel now but want to do the exact trip in the future. Great App though and I use it all the time for all our travel, business and pleasure.

Disliked it. Didn’t function as I hoped, or easily at all. Unable to add exact location for most Australian train stations such as in Sydney and Newcastle. Duration of trip when added from Newcastle to Central was estimated 7 hours by train?? What a laugh when it’s barely a 3 hour trip. Unable to add extra rail trips as it would not let me add the time in without saying it was incorrect/invalid based on arrival/departure no matter how many times I tried to fix it so it would let me save. Let’s just say- I tried for about an hour to make an itinerary on this useless app. I made one in 15 minutes on another app. Don’t waste your time if your in Australia, and you’re expecting this app to make things easier because it’ll only make it more stressful and confusing. 😑

Good, but obvious missing features. This app will help you seamlessly import bookings to build a trip planner. The interface is far superior to the browser version. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to export the itinerary to PDF (to share with family etc.). The only way is to export it as an email or text file, which strips the formatting. This is a basic function that similar apps have, so it surprises me that TripIt doesn’t. You can do this on the browser, but the output is quite ugly and clunky.... plus, why should that be necessary? The app should do this. If you could consider this for future updates, along with the ability to attach PDF docs, I’d give it 5 stars.

Good but frustrating. On a 4 month trip and this app has been great to keep the itinerary up to date. Disappointing features are that there is a 25 document limit with the paid version. Travelling for 4 months means there is more than 25 documents required. Why can there not be more? The second frustration relates to adding itinerary items. It is very glitchy. Sometimes it will not load the item and then it sometimes will duplicate the item many times. It wastes time then having to go back and delete all the duplicates. You don’t want to be wasting time on your holiday with this.

Wow! Amazing app!. Found this app accidentally while I was planing my Bali trip, and it turns out become my best travel planner! I won’t have to open my excel again that make things so easy because Tripit already has so many resources in its memory data, once you key in a place, all the details like address or phone number just jump out and you only need to click the one you need and it’s planned! Awesome!

“Access Denied” for no apparent reason…. I have a 6 week trip loaded into TripIt, accommodation, flights etc. I’m sharing this with friends and using it as our primary coordination tool. However, today when I sign on I’m ”Denied Access” apparently ‘due to legal and compliance reason’. I can’t imagine why this would be and I can find no information that makes sense on the TripIt help pages. Of course I would like to have my access reinstated, but am concerned that this might be a random and repeating event which makes TripIt unreliable in the extreme and dangerous to rely on. Dear TripIt, Please convince me otherwise, as I’ve invested quite a bit of time, effort and trust in using TripIt to manage this trip. I doubt my trust can be restored.

Just one thing. I love the format of this app. It is easy to read and easy to use. The connections to websites and google maps enables you to easily book tickets and find where you need to go. There is just one thing I would LOVE to be added to give this app a little more oomph- I would like there to be an ability to highlight activities/plans in different colours for sorting and organising OR at the very least to be able to select different icon colours (not just images).

So, so good. The best itinerary app ever. This app has made my life so much easier, and I couldn’t be more impressed with it. I travel a lot and sort all the bookings out myself through multiple different websites, which previously used to make keeping on top of my itinerary a bit of a chore, especially when travelling in areas outside of wifi / mobile data. Tripit automatically retrieves all my booking info through my email without me having to do anything at all, and compiles it into a sleek, user-friendly, easy-to-navigate itinerary that updates itself in real time with gate and terminal info and saves for offline use. It is also quick and easy to check in online for flights through the app, and it retrieves and copies all the booking confirmation codes for you to save you having to dig around in your email for them. Sharing travel info with friends and family is easy and very clear. I am very very happy with how much work this app saves me and how much smoother it makes all my travelling. I have a couple of suggestions for improvements in the future... recently I cancelled a hotel booking and it wasn’t as easy to remove a cancelled item from my itinerary as I’d hoped. I had another one but I can’t remember what it is now, can’t have been that good I suppose. Cheers Tripit for making my itinerant life a breeze.

Best way to stay organised!. As someone who has recently started delving into the more adventures times of my life, this app has everything you need to plan out national & international travelling, it keeps me on top of everything and even has features within the app that I never even considered that have helped massively in the planning process! Will highly recommend this app to beginner and more experienced travellers who are old fashioned, also will be getting friends and family in on this to!

A must have for travellers. I have been using TripIt for 15 years for work and leisure trips. It is a travel essential ( along with packing cubes). I encourage everyone to use it- learn to use all its features and you will never go back. The free version is great in itself. Upgrade to TripItPro and you will get even better features- TripItPro often advises me of flight cancellations and delays before my airline apps do. Another feature is that I can look back on all my trips and remember where I stayed and what I did and with which service provider. Amazing!!!!!!!!!!

must have app. My wife and I have been using this essential App for at least the last eleven years, it is brilliant that we can both input plans to the various trips we have done as well as allowing selected friends and family access to selected parts of our plans so they can know where we are and learn from our planning

Like having a PA - even free version. I’m not big on reviews, but as the holiday planner in our household, this app is amazing. I’m using the free version and it’s the best way to keep track of everything and make sure I haven’t missed booking accommodation for that one night layover I’d forgotten about, or messed up the timings of that activity we wanted to do and the transfer i’d organised months ago. So simple to update - just by forwarding the confirmation emails clogging up my inbox. Brilliant.

Love it!. Have been using TripIt for the last 6 holidays so far. It’s so easy to add plans such as flights, accommodation, car rental, maps and city tours. No need to print out itineraries as we just email our plans to family at home. Appreciate the auto-fill function when adding flight numbers. Also, eateries, ATMs and local features can be accessed through the map function. Will happily keep using TripIt into the future.

Great Travelling App. Great travelling app, able to keep everything all in one place is fantastic. Only wish you could change or choose different colours for the icons eg, activity, tours, trains, ferries etc so each one would stand out better rather them all in being blue. The only ones that are currently a different colour are the airfares which are green.

Would give it five stars if it didn’t have a limit on attachments. This is a really great app and for the annual price happy to pay it for what it offers. I also like the new look of it all. Only one feedback I have which I do hope they fix is that there is a limit of 25 attachments for the entire trip. If you’re doing a really big trip, it means you then need to save your tickets or files into another drive to access rather than having all in the one TripIt app. I do hope they fix this as other than that, the app is really awesome. I would recommend it to anyone who is a type type traveller and loves to stay organised. Cheers

Great app. All your travel info together in one place. I have used this app over the past couple of years and have found it a wonderful resource. Keeping all my travel plans in one easy to use app. Flights, hotel, tours and car bookings. Times, dates, flight details, contact info and even passport details can be stored in the app. When you make a travel booking it automatically picks up the details from your email account and adds the booking to the TripIt app. Other details can be added manually like contact details for tours etc. Also the app alerts you of delayed flights ,time changes and gate changes. A must have for me when traveling.

Love TripIt, but recently things have started to go wrong!. I've been using TripIt now for about 4 years, and numerous trips. I love it! However in the past few weeks, I've started receiving incorrect information into my trip itinerary. (So, receiving someone else's flights and bus bookings.) This is causing "conflicts" in my itinerary, and suggests that another user isn't correctly updating their itinerary as I'm receiving heir bookings into my account. This suggests that the links between my email accounts and my TripIt account has been compromised.

Really useful. Love that it records my FF numbers and generally just makes things easier. Itinerary just pops up and can't say enough good things about this app. Plans automatically entered in, ability to share, everything available. Free is good. I used to get pro but don’t find the extra value there anymore. One request for improvement - if there are multiple travellers on a trip with slightly different itineraries it would be great to have a little icon for each person to show who is doing what.

Travel planner Exellence. We’ve used TripIt since 2013, we’ve travelled over 300,000 kilometers, visiting 24 countries and every step of the journey is set out in TripIt to keep us on track. It’s great to show taxis our hotel destination, get alerts for flights and reminders to early Check-in. Best app to use when booking long trips, notified if missing bookings for accommodation, I also input must see places to visit Can’t travel now without using TripIt which is constantly being upgraded with new features added.

Good for trip planning on multiple. I am using TripIt on IPhone, iPad & windows 10 computer and finding it an easy way to record my trips and share with travelling companions and family. I am not using email entry (just manual entry) but it has been easy to enter this way as well and I have found the inbuilt directions useful as well as notes to add things I might be interested in seeing.

Really annoying. I’ve used this app previously, although not for quite a while. I have been trying to add a river cruise with various ports of call only to have all the information I have added deleted, 3 times. I keep getting messages about dates being incorrect, which even if I have made a mistake I should be able to just fix, not have to re-enter everything again. The other issue I’ve had while adding the ports is that it keeps bringing up specific addresses rather than allowing me simply select the city that we are stopping in. I’m about to delete this app & try to find something a bit more user friendly.

Let down. I’ve been using this app since 2016 and sadly it is not what it used to be. Multiple bugs and problems with it. Email syncing no longer works, new activities won’t save and if they do it will be in the wrong time zone and will save over 5 different times, resulting in having to delete the rest but the one I wanted. Adding any new activities takes a very long time to save, if it does save at all but usually it’s an error message being displayed. And yes it is the latest version and my phone is next to brand new and is updated. Disappointed that I’ll have to find a new app once this trip is over.

Outstanding. We organise all our own overseas vacations. Flights, hotels, tours, restaurants. Normally a lot of fun exploring and booking via numerous websites. But always a challenge to consolidate. This App makes it simple. It is intuitive and provides both (a) a simple summary (b) the masses of hidden details You are eventually going to need. I’m a Mac user so one minor hack. TripIt won’t automatically import details from my calendar into TripIt. Whereas it will do so for some other calendar Apps. But you can forward emails to your TripIt account and it’ll import the details from your email. And of course, you can give access to any of your planned tours by allowing others access via entering their email as an approved viewer. Supplements your schedule by suggesting restaurants, tours nearby. Which is I guess where they earn their money. And indeed, good luck to them if it maintains this rather elegant and hugely useful App.

3 small suggestions for improvement. 1) Make locations searchable. For example, I add an activity, my activity is disneyland. If the app could find disneyland and enter all the contact details and website it would make it easier. It can do it if you have already booked something and have a confirmation email, but otherwise it can’t. 2) Make it possible to select mutiple pictures at once to each activity 3) Add a budget fuction. Example - hotel cost per night, flight costs, activity costs and a way to compare. A saving tool so it will cost $$$ to have your holiday which is $$$ each week you need to save. With these functions, you would have an unbeatable app, because otherwise i love it

Why a mess!. Had this app for years but now keeps crashing, unable anymore to link to my email when booked itineraries from different airlines come into my inbox. This is after numerous attempts to click on link in the app to set up flight information time and time again and again. This App used to be amazing but has gone downhill and hard to navigate anymore. Maybe it does when you purchase it for $77 !!! Used to be a free app and work brilliantly, but now it’s sheeite! I definitely won’t pay for it on principal.

Indispensable. TripIt is a genuinely useful app that is critical for any traveller. Share itinerary with fellow travellers or just have a single place to keep all of your plans. The ability to forward booking confirmation details makes it super easy to add data. The only reason it loses a star is for a very “cluttered” interface when adding data and because it’s surprisingly difficult to add just an “attraction” without the app trying to treat it like some kind of dining event or whatever.

Compact trip report; daily planner and PA. Love trip it! Rediscovered after a few years not travelling. 45 days of travel across 7 countries correlated with ease; allows for easy import of travel confirmations as well as customisable entries and reminders; stores data transfers it can’t interpret for review. Smooth and seamless with over 20 transport transfers (plane ferry train bus ) and 50+ activities (concerts theatre festivals and day to day travel reminders)

Indispensable.. Once again Tripit has paid for itself in spades. I've used this for years and it reliably notifies of flight changes well before any airline does; usually delays/cancellations, but crucially today, a flight moved forwards. Also gives options for alternative flights to get out of somewhere when a flight is cancelled/delayed. Today I am on a QR flight from Australia to Europe booked BC by Amex. Neither of them informed me the flight was rescheduled 2 hours earlier. If not for the Tripit notification I'll would have arrived at the airport to find the flight had left. I called Amex and had to have the flight re-ticketed to get on the plane. Lousy service by Amex and QR of course but Tripit saved the day and many thousands of dollars. Get the Pro version; the few bucks spent are well worth it.

Used to be outstanding, now has some issues. 2020 November review: I love using TripIt, but it’s now experiencing some annoying new issues. 1. I have updated (off/on) the email integration but it is still not working well. 2. When it does, the bookings which used to be seamlessly integrated into my trips (ie. same vendors) are now left in the unfiled section. Seems to file bookings with pdf attachments ok but others not (can’t be sure). 3. On one occasion, I could not change the name of the lodging which got filed as “Lodging” (ie. staying at a hotel named Lodging?!). Sorry guys, I like(d) this app but it’s becoming cumbersome to have to manually enter data all the time. Looking for other solutions now... Previous 5-star review: I find this App the best for keeping tabs of all my travel itineraries (both business and leisure). Used others before- nothing as versatile yet simple to use as TripIt! Love the interface between phone and web (every so often a hotel has a primitive booking email and so I manually add the booking online. This then Syncs to my phone. Perfect!). Can we please have more options for travel like "Drive Own Car", which could accommodate fuel usage, distance (map integration), route, etc.?

Can’t Travel Without TripIt!. I’ve been using tripit for over a decade. Always the free version until just recently when I upgraded to Pro. It makes it so easy to keep all the trip details in one place - flights, accommodation, events, restaurants etc etc. I then share the itinerary with my travel partners and anyone else who needs the info. It’s quick, easy to use and does its job brilliantly! And I can see the history of all my past trips which is awesome! Can’t recommend TripIt highly enough!

Continually impresses me. I have been using this app since 2014 (pro member since 2015) and have registered, managed and logged 34 trips since then using TripIt ranging from 3 day business trips to 2 month multi country holidays. This app is brilliant - easily compiling itineraries correctly and handling with perfection. Recently after booking a Trafalgar tour, I wondered what would happen if I forwarded my full tour itinerary to the tripit email and lo and behold it registered every hotel stopover and completely flawed me. Great work trip it team. Importing tour itineraries was a very unexpected feature. Suggested feature: add functionality to email PDF document to trip it and then attach as a note in the itinerary at a certain date time (which you have) but make the PDF viewable there.

What gone wrong?. I’ve been a serious Pro user for about 6 years. But I’m the last few months I have encountered serious errors: flight details are consistently being imported incorrectly from the PDF’s. PM departures become AM, new stopover cities are created (!!). Seriously bizarre stuff! And unless you check carefully could lead to major mistakes. To be honest I never used to check anything: TripIt was magic! But the system is regularly making major mistakes now. Something has happened!

TripIt - getting organised. My perfect way to organise my travel is to have everything recorded on tripit, which endures I get up to date Gate snd drparture times. In combination with google trips which gives me plan options to choose from these two tools are invaluable. I’m over 60 now and can get a bit forgetful so helpful to have everything in one place snd I appreciate how easy and intuitive it is to use these tools.

The best trip planner. I love this app intensely. Keeping the complexities of bookings, flights and plans in order in a way that can be shared with my husband is life changing. Fine are the days of searching through email to check a hotel address or flight departure time. Highly recommend and paying for full functionality.

I do love this App. A Friend put me onto TripIt and I have used it religiously for the past 3 years. I love that I can add viewers to my itinerary so my friends know where I and where they can contact me. Having all the info contained in one app just makes it so much easier. Love love it. I so want to reward the developers by purchasing the pro version (even though the free version contains all I need) but seriously guys $77 PER YEAR. It puts it out of my reach. Drop the price by 60% or make it a lifetime membership and I’m all yours. In closing thank you for this App

Lots of errors. I’ve just purchased trip it pro and have encountered so many errors. Trying to add my frequent flyer accounts, it says error please try again later for multiple airlines. When I tried to create an independent login with an email address, it said error please try again later. That happened for 4 days straight. I’ve been previously using Wanderlog pro and have had nothing errors with this app. Lost of my travel friends have recommend this app, but I’m trying to work out why when half the functions don’t work?

Fabulous. I have been using this App for years and I love it. I love being able to share plans with family and friends. I love the calendar interaction and I love seeing everything in one place. The only thing I don't love is not being able to update trip photos in the App, you have to go to TripIt online for this. Very annoying and not mobile friendly. Other than that, love everything else. Well done guys.

Great app but... I’ve been using Tripit & Tripit pro for many years. I used to think it was great. One problem I have been having lately is that it defaults to airports and locations in the US. I know they think they ‘are’ the world. But there’s a whole other world out there. I try to change the destination but it’s time consuming and frustrating and doesn’t always work. As it has added + or - a day to my trip to a county I’m not going to, all my connecting bookings are also out of sync! I did like this app because it pre-filled the data from my reservation confirmation emails. All done, bingo, no fuss and bother for me. Now I spend ages trying to set destinations on my side of the hemisphere. If you’re in the Sthn Hemisphere start looking for an alternative app that works in the Sthn Hemisphere like I’m about to do.

wouldn't travel without Tripit. it's a great way to keep all your travel details in one itinerary. so helpful to share with friends or family you're travelling with or just so they know your whereabouts overseas or in australia. it's pretty good at automatically importing flights. trains, hotels etc but do have to manually import and/or fix up entries. appreciate you have lots of fields and room for notes.

Good but does some strange things. I like the way it finds and fills in the details of flights and hotels, and displays the whole trip but why can I only have one flight confirmation number on my flights and it doesn't seem logical to me that to add more details to a trip I have to add another “plan” rather than a new item. The problem with the flight confirmation number is why I gave it 4 stars because i find that really frustrating.

Would give this 5 stars “BUT”. This is a great app but notifications drive you nuts and you cant select which ones you would like to get and which ones you dont want. For example if you want flight change delay or gate change notifications but not other notifications like booking received or Check-in starting you cant select between them. Then you get a text and in app notification for the same thing at the same time. Drives you nuts if you travel all the time.

Handy for big trips. This app took a little bit to set up and figure out. But once I had figured out how to find my way around it, it’s a great planning tool. I’ve planned 4 weeks through Italy including flights, accommodation, trains, guided tours and even a Broadway Musical with this app... it keeps everything in order (you can adjust the check in/check out times for hotels so you can see transport between stops in the right order) very handy

Not user friendly. When you are preparing your trip you still don't know the flight number, rental car location etc. This app starts asking this. And you have to give your credit card to start.

Great for planning complex trips. This app works incredibly well for planning complicated trips with multiple flights and hotel stays. Easy to navigate and keeps all the relevant info in one place.

Limited on paid subscription. When I paid for a subscription I was expecting unlimited attachments. But limits you to 25.

Loved it for years, but now…. I have a new iPhone 15 Pro and the TripIt app will not go to the login screen. I only get a blank white page every time I try to log in. This has render the app useless to me, at least until this issue is fixed.

I used to love it. A few years back I had used TripIt for a month long trip to Italy. I LOVED IT! We are planning a quick week long trip to Europe with many trips and lodging and it is definitely not what it used to be. I can forward a confirmation and it will go through. I can forward another from the same site and it will error out. I had to do the workaround to add a lodging and it put in a wrong date and I didn’t notice. Leave the date blank please fellows. The worse part was that before you could update and change. Not anymore. I had to basically delete the whole trip them import stuff again. What a pain. I am using it for this trip but I think I will be looking elsewhere for our next one. Sorry guys but this app was great and now it seems like it needs a lot of work.

TripIt keeps my plans handy. I now just mostly travel for leisure. Even then it is useful to have all your information in one place. I love to be able to share plans and do make further plans from here. I used to have the pro version but can’t justify that now. But it’s still a great way to make a maintain plans. An improvement might a feature to be to be able to add blanks for missing nights/hotels/etc so we can know we need to book.

Needs enhancement. Need to allow SMS for Canadian subscribers. Need to be easier to find billing and payment information.

Need SMS Text for Canada. Currently there SMS Text notifications are not available in Canada.

Very Good. Free to use, great basic functionality, very clean. Was not expecting that these days where everything is covered by a paywall, will be happy to support this app just for that.

Superb!. We have been using this app for years and it is very useful for arranging all of our trip details for us. We love that it keeps everything in one place, and it is especially handy when we are staying at multiple accommodations.

Great trip summary app. Summarizes beautifully and I don’t have to look at multiple emails to get a summary of my trip, no matter how many flights I need to take

Used to be good :(. Awe this app was amazing and now with the update it's horrible and useless. Deleted it and redownloaded and it still sucks :(

Such a helpful travel tool. Tripit is a great way to keep track of trips and plans . It gives you options for tracking flights, hotels, and transportation. Logging all confirmation numbers for everything that is booked

Was great now it’s not. Is it new phones? The email will no longer sync and the q&A does not help. I see multiple reviews with the same issue.

A Must Have!. If you travel and like to keep everything organized in one place this FREE app. is for you. It’s easy to use. Keeps flights, lodging, restaurants, etc. organized by the date being used. And it’s always there so years after you’re trip you can refer back to make recommendations. I wish there was an option to keep travel insurance information. Perhaps there is on the premium.

Great App. I find this app, very useful for planning trips, both for work and for pleasure.

Busy or intermittent travelers will enjoy this. Great tool for organizing your travel arrangements into a simple UI; or having an assistant do all your travel booking with ease.

Duplicating. It keeps duplicating entries, or entries reappearing after thay are deleted,

Great assistant. TripIt makes my trip so easy, love the Maps for the airports. Everything is in one convenient place. We should totally try it out. What do you have blues. Set up it’s easy to use.

When travel always use Tripit! Great little app!. Whenever I travel I use Tripit to store all the info that I need. Everything can be found quickly without any hassle! Recomended!

Great organiser.. We go o. Trips with multiple destinations and car rentals etc. we also book restaurants in advance. This software is great for that!

A must have for any traveler!. I use TripIt for myself, my family and my boss. It’s a fantastic way to very easily keep track of all your reservations and plans. The visual layout is very clear and I also love that you can share full itineraries with others!

Bad update. Since it got updated, my request are send back to me because the system is not recording information correctly. This is causing delays to get rembourse.

Very handy. Makes organizing complex itineraries easy. Very practical tool.

5 Missed flights fault of TripIt. A TripIt Pro user for several years for business & pleasure. Very happy until now. Travelling with my family of 5 we just arrived to discover that TripIt misread our flight itinerary as PM from AM. Stranded at airport, continue to receive flight update emails and notifications for our flight leaving tonight at 5:35pm even know Air Canada reports it left at 5:00am. Obvious computer glitch in the system, with no phone number to TripIt to call for help. I won’t pay for TripIt Pro any longer or use the App at all. Too bad as it was great and was always accurate until today. Now I have to pay for 5 new tickets to get us home. Horrible situation.

Tripit Pro / Zero Support. I’ve used Tripit for years, upgraded to TripIt Pro a couple days ago. SMS updates do not work, it’s joy reading 5 trips I just booked via email, and I cannot find any help. What a ripoff.

Awesome tool for a road warrior. Traveling 35-40 weeks of the year TripIt has been a lifesaver!

LOVE this app!. Such a simple way to keep track of all your travel plans and itinerary and share with those who are travelling or those at home wondering where you are today. Highly recommend !

Great app. I love the stats you need to make this more social aware and let people add pics of places! you guys are onto something also, the integration with FlightAware needs to be fixed ASAP. Thank you.

Confusing. Added other trip legs to my travel…several flights at the same times! Confusing for sure.

Best travelling app ever!. I love how convenient trip it is! I do t have to do any manual entries and it keeps all my reservations for airplane; hotel or car reveals organized! I love it!

Great App. It is a great App. I love it.

Unable to upload pictures. Cannot upload a single picture. It gets to 75% and then it gives error message. Also, has difficulty processing even simple itineraries from various transport companies

Excellent App. Perfect for keeping my business and personal travel itineraries together in one place!

App doesn’t pick up flights info. I’ve installed the app the day before my return trip. I got information synced with SAP Concur. My flight with Air Canada got delayed by two hours. The app was showing me that I’m still about to land. Hence I would not trust my trip fully to the app. I don’t know why information about my flight was not picked up from the public source.

Pretty slick. The free version isn’t perfect but still pretty slick. If I travelled more I might be tempted to try the pro

Been using since 2015. Great app. Very useful, easy to use and to share with family & friends. Notifications are very helpful. Hearing the flight notification sound (“ding-dong”) makes me smile every time! Also lots of fun to look back and refresh our memories!

Francia. J’adore cette application et tout ce qu’elle me permet de conserver comme souvenirs de voyages. Merci infiniment. Francia

Game changer for frequent travelers. Great travel companion!. Forget printing itineraries, this app is great!

Like the upgrade. I have been using TripIt for several years to plan and organize all of my business trips. However, with Covid and being semi retired I have not travelled a lot lately. I was planning a trip for my wife’s and my anniversary and decided to use TripIt even though it is mostly a road trip. I found that now, even by typing in partial names of small companies in remote areas of Nova Scotia, TripIt had all of their information and filled it in for me including, name, address, email, and phone number. In prior versions I was always going back and forth to find and add that info. I like the new version.

Good overall. Needs to be able to detect time zones better especially when traveling international as you are starting in a local time zone and moving to a different one. For example it picked up my airport parking however the time zone it’s using to sync to my iCal is my destinations not my departures which is totally wrong

Very helpful. We have used app for several years and have found it great for keeping everything organized. Easy to use

Excellent. Works well. Imports most email bookings. Great graphical interface. Won’t travel without it.

Useless. Horrible interface, not user friendly at all.

Very helpful. A great tool for keeping travel info handy.

Doesn’t work in Canada. Nothing is syncing and it can’t fetch my email

No more Canada. App doesn’t know Canada exits for language, phone numbers, date format.

Time Saver. The only “problem” today, is that you are not able to upload the documents on the website. I do use my computer to search and save the booking pdfs and i have to transfer to my phone to save to Tripit. Everything else is great. If the pro version was cheaper or/and charged per trip planned i would sign the subscription for sure.

Gone downhill and POOR support. I’ve had an open issue for at least three months, and still no response except for “passed on to developers”. Issue with syncing trips between web, iPhone and iPad - I have three different versions, as it doesn’t sync. Tried to create a brand new trip on my iPad with two items - flight to LA and back, and it’s still not on my phone. Only the trip title, but no entries and it’s been at least 24 hours. Time to look for another option

Ease of use and works well.. This app is awesome for travel. Have been using it for many years. It works well and has many features even without going pro. If I travelled more I would get pro for sure.

Good when it works. I’ve had a lot of problems with error messages. I think their customer support leaves a lot to be desired. Basically they tell me to exit out of the app, re-download, shut off phone. Not really helpful. I get error messages on saving notes, on attaching documents, etc. Also, on pro they only have a 25 document limit. I have one train ride that has 8 tickets because we have a transfer. We need higher doc limits with pro. I’m traveling with 3 other older adults and I have to have all of the docs on my phone. Need the app to work, especially when you’re getting ready to leave in your trip. Also need a place to see all of the “25” docs I have - which i don’t even have any longer and it still won’t let me upload docs. Not reliable enough.

Essential travel app. I've been using Tripit since 2007, and the app since version 1. It gets better and better. I've been away one day in every four and being able to automatically generate itineraries is indispensable. My only gripe is that I'd like to be able to download my past trips to excel (dates and places primarily). These days many countries require 5 or 10 years of trip information for their visa applications and downloading to .csv would be so useful. I suggested this some years ago. Nothing happened. But so long as you don't need to download hundreds of trips, and merely need to refer to your itineraries, this is definitely the app for you. Super reliable and easy to use.

I couldn’t imagine my life without it!. I couldn't imagine my life without TripIt! I've been using TripIt since 2014! I travel all over the world from The US and stay 6-8 weeks at a time, 10 trips a year! My trips involve many flights, hotels, ferries, car rentals, ...etc. There's no way in heck I could keep up with all of this without TripIt! When I'm at the airport, I get notifications regarding flight delays, gate changes, & cancellations, sometimes even before the airline app or gate sign notifies me. I LOVE the fact that I could go back and check on past trips, where I stayed and what flights took me there! The Pro version is worth every penny!

Helps the Disorganized Get Organized. I have used TripIt for both domestic and International travel. Love that I can forward my email reservation confirmations for major airlines, transportation and accommodations to my TripIt account and it’s formatted in an easy-to-read itinerary. Additionally, you can forward emailed entertainment confirmations as well. It handles from the major providers and if TripIt can’t process an u known provider, you’re given the opportunity to do so. Directions have much improved over the years. I typically add them from airport to hotel to attractions with no problem. Keep up the good work TripIt!

User for years. Love being able to quickly forward my reservation emails and have an aggregated itinerary automagically imported with all the relevant confirmation numbers and information. It keeps me up to date with delays, lets me know if there is a tight/at-risk connection and contingency plan (look at alternative routes) in the event the connection is missed. I can easily share my travel plans with other travelers or my family when I’m away. Integration with Flighty is also great. TripitPro terminal maps and directions are also helpful for estimating time to walk to my gate so I know if I have time to grab a quick bite and pick out a restaurant. Might be my most useful travel app!

You Will Love This App. For someone who travels for a living, TripIt is the most important (and favorite) app on my phone. It has truly changed my work life and habits - and removes so much stress from travels. It takes away the worry because it removes the hassle of juggling your many reservations. After you’ve done the hard work of reserving the flights, hotels, cars, etc, TripIt can interpret it all and extract the critical information. Then it puts it all into a neat, chronological display so you don’t need to look anywhere else! Reservation codes, phone numbers, addresses - it’s all there! (But if you need to modify, you can do that too.) I honestly feel that it’s foolish NOT to use this great travel tool - you will love it!

Don’t leave home without it !. I’ve been consistently using TripIt for about 5 years now & I’m impressed with its ease of use as well its versatility in types of information in can store for you . When planning a trip to Italy, my daughter , who had been the year before , shared her “past trip” details with me . It was complete with maps of landmarks she wanted to see & various restaurant options she had marked . It saved me so much time ! I now “pay it forward” and forward my past trips to people to share where we stayed , who we hired to drive us , rail info etc ... it’s just fabulous ! I’ve never had a glitch ! Happy travels

Recent Changes Have Made This Site Useless. Do not pay money to use this app if you have multiple trips or need information to be completed in a timely fashion. We previously paid for a teams membership but starting on Sept 2022 they discontinued this service. We have paid per person the yearly fee and even though we are now spending more then we were for teams the new platform and server cannot handle the data. It has been a truly frustrating and time consuming effort to continue to use this site and app. Customer Service difficult to get responses and offer no help or any suggestions to make this work- even with the extra money they are now getting per person. I wish I had used another system before they made all these changes and now I am stuck with information I can’t even get to. I dont believe they can deliver what they promise even with the fees being so expensive now.

Best travel app by a good bit. What makes this the best app? It's ability to ingest information. Quite simply it does it better than the rest. That and its ability to integrate. I love that I can use my trip it data in various apps. Like in my calendar or other travel apps or flight board. It's still the best. It has its issues, and some apps have cool features it doesn't. But it's still my go to travel app. I may tinker with others. But I rely on this one. I recently moved up to Tripit pro after using the regular version for years and years. I love it. I travel a lot so it’s worth it. When I didn’t travel as much it wasn’t as compelling but now that I’ve gone pro I don’t think I’d go back.

Perfect way to store trip details. Been using the free version for years after reading how much business travelers loved this app. Keeps track of every confirmation number, date, flight or train ticket that I forward to it for a trip. Allows me to look in ONE PLACE for any detail I need. Does this remarkably well by allowing me to forward e-mails from hotels, travel agents, transportation companies to the app. All details are then magically organized chronologically in an format that is intuitive for me to use. No more digging through emails to find my confirmation number or a check in time For something I booked months ago. All the info I could possibly need is stored in TripIt for as long as I need it. Can’t imagine how it could possibly be done better.

Good tool for frequent travelers. I had this app for several years and finally subscribed to the Pro version couple of years ago. The free app works very well to organize your trips. It scans your email and builds your itinerary automatically, in one easy to follow graph. I was skeptical about paying for the Pro version, but it paid off for itself. I booked a flight couple of weeks ago. Today, I got an alert that the prices on that flight dropped significantly, so I changed the flight and saved about 50%!! That by itself makes the subscription price worthwhile. Kudos to developers.

Upgrade to premium version!. I’ve used trip it for several years and it’s an invaluable tool to manage my trips. Simply forward your confirmations and it will track and organize all the info - arrival & departure dates times, addresses, confirmation numbers. I’ve managed everything from weekends to 10 week/five country trips with lots of stops. I signed up for the premium subscription version. It monitors prices and alerts you to a price change. A few years ago I got an $800 credit. Just now it informed a flight I had booked last night dropped by $300 so I just cancelled and rebooked and am saving the money! So it’s worth it for that alone.

The BEST travel app!. Absolutely LOVE TripIt. We love to travel, and cannot live without it on our trips. It’s so user friendly, and I love the ability to email my itinerary and have it automatically added to my trip. I also love being able to look back and see what we did on a previous trip. TripIt really helps with trip planning and keeping all of our activities organized. The only thing I wish the devs would do is to offer a less expensive annual subscription or have a donate option as I really want to contribute money to the app, but the current pricing is a bit high.

Organize my travel plans easier than never before thanks. I love it. It’s easy to use. It has helped me organize my vacation plans the easiest as posible. I love that I can share tru email and my relatives that are going to the same trip knows what my plan is. I left a review just for the reason to ask for more icons? Please? I also love that you can add addresses , phone to call , and many more details on just one spot and easy to find so I can enjoy the most time of my vacation time. Thank you very much. Job well done making this app. And wishing higher I wish that instead of icons for the categories I wish we could use pictures but that’s another app...more icons will do for now..

Mobile view difficult to use, import function rocks!. First of all I love the import function of the itinerary. And the ability to see multiple itineraries for several trips. Still working out how to add items that don’t come in an itinerary such as Airbnb. The big downside for me was when you launch the app the mobile view was very difficult and very tiny. However when you look at the itinerary page it comes in a much better mobile format. Keep working on this, a great app for organizing multiple trips with more than 1 person Now if it could track expenses and allow you to add extraneous items like day passes etc.

TripIt is the best thing that ever happened to me. TripIt is the PERFECT travel companion. If you like organizing your travel, TripIt is the app for you. If you like having all your travel details at your fingertips, TripIt is for you. If you plan a number of trips and want to have a “home” for all the details, TripIt is for you. If you hate digging through emails for confirmation numbers while standing at the counter with a long line of angry people behind you, TripIt is for you. If you travel with companions and want to keep everyone on the same page, TripIt is for you. If you like remembering places you went on past trips, TripIt is for you. If you travel, TripIt is for you.

Must Have For Travelers!. This app is one of the best apps I’ve ever downloaded. I had a 5 city Europe trip and it completely drew up a beautiful itinerary for me. I was also allowed to share with others so they could follow along too. It especially made it easy when you needed to pull up addresses & phone numbers really quickly when taking a cab or Uber. I hope they continue to improve this app because some of my plans just weren’t locked up by the apps tech. Even when I forwarded the confirmation email they just weren’t picked up. But other than that 10/10

Love my TripIt!. This is an incredible app! I travel fairly often and TripIt is fantastic for keeping all of my itinerary details in one easy to access place. I'm sometimes not the most organized person, and having all of the details for flights, hotels, Rent-A-Car's, etc. in one spot on my phone is invaluable. My only suggestion would be to reduce the price for the premium membership. It adds just a little more convenience than the free app, and if it were at a lower price I would purchase it just to support the programmers of this wonderful app. I recommend this app to others I know who travel a little or a lot, and they, too, love the service provided. Thanks for a fantastic product!

Not dependable. At first I thought TripIt would be a good travel tool, but eventually everything went south. The dates on my trips kept changing, example: Nov 21, 2022 would become Nov 21, 2021. It would throw off all my planning. Anything I planned for 2021 would get posted on my 2022 trip. I can’t correct the dates, the calendar somehow has blocked the date. TripIt makes multiple entries into the same planned trip. 2 or more of everything! 2 flight departing, 2 flight landings, and so on with my Cruise. It has also deleted past trips I was saving for future planning trips. I have contacted TripIt, but they respond with passive nonsense. They blamed me for their poor program problems.

Indispensable, but buggy. Have used this app EVERY DAY for >1 year travel to >40 countries. Absolutely recommend it to avoid constantly rummaging through emails to try to find reservation details. Really surprised that, as an offshoot of the business app Concur, it continues to have bugs. For example.... I set up trip dates, yet my imported plans regularly create new trips, instead of inserting them in existing trip. Annoying. Yes, you can ‘add this plan to existing trip’, but that’s not the point. Trip statistics. Will track distance covered, countries visited, etc. weirdly, will only do that for completed trips (why?), and not for trips that are over 366 (?) days... why? International info pro feature. Always defaults to the first country I used it in, instead of the last country I searched. Why? Multiple devices. I open my iPhone and iPad apps and see very different information very often. Cross device glitch on my one account. Continue to get, for example, flight gate and departure times alerts days after the event has happened... That’s just off the top of my head.

So far works pretty good but….. This wa as perk from work for a Pro version of TripIt so I just downloaded this app. So far it seems pretty intuitive and it does really well organizing all travel plans. One cool feature is once it knows the hotel or location you will be the app offers tips for dining, bars, etc. nearby. So far I have not been able to sync any of my points programs. I keep getting an error message saying I need to go to the vendor website or it says unable to get information for any program I have tried to link so far (Hilton Honors, Marriott BONVOY, and United). I stopped trying after those 3 didn’t sync to TripIt. 5 stars if that gets works out. It would be very convenient to have all that information in one location.

Convenient, but doesn’t make it easy for business vs. personal. My employer pays for tripit pro and I like the features. I like to have my business travel automatically imported into my employer’s Concur system. But I travel as much or more on personal trips. Modifying my review here: the developer hopefully reached out to me with a link to an FAQ to let me know that, although email addresses you add to your account will share with SAP Concur by default, you can turn off that behavior in the settings you have to do it for each email address. I’m increasing my rating to four stars. I still think we should have privacy by default and have to opt in to share with SAP Concur.

Did I ever live without this?. Been using TripIt for years, so excellent, essential travel app! Every complicated multistage trip organized everything in one place, can't tell you how great it is. Every time I head to the airport I'm thankful everything is in TripIt. You know what's funny? I didn't write the above review, it was suggested by TripIt when I finally, after YEARS of use, took the time to rate it. But it's so true. On my last trip, a 7 different airport, multi stage college tour with my teenager, I was raving to him about TripIt, how different it used to be to travel without it, all the flights, the rental cars, the hotels, the airbnbs, everything in order with all notes in one place. I would never want to give it up. This is the travel app you want - I promise!

A Must Have For Any Traveler. American Express coined the tagline "Don't leave home without it" to successfully sell AMEX travelers' checks and then credit cards to globe-trotting consumers from the mid-70s thru the 90s, including me. But since 2007, when TripIt launched its travel planning and organizer first as a web service and subsequently as a mobile app, this simple yet powerful piece of technology has become my family's go-to, must-have, "don't leave home without it," traveling tool. Whenever we hit the road, TripIt is by our side, keeping my family organized, on time, and, most importantly, stress-free. TripIt is an app that just works - don't leave home without it.

Keeps me organized!. I love this app! I’ve used it for several domestic and international trips and honestly don’t remember how I traveled before discovering this app. Being able to forward confirmation emails to the app and having it populate an itinerary helps keep my brain clutter-free. It’s easy enough to add additional plans as well, which is a bonus. My only “complaint” (if you can call it that), is that’s if like you be able to see an entire activity title at a glance, without having to open the activity. Not a big deal, though, and truly, I had to dig deep to find that one little complaint. This is my favorite travel app!

Downgrading from five to four stars. This is still one of my favorite apps for travel planning. I can’t recommend it enough. It has lots of integrations with other other apps and just keeps you aware of where you are, what’s next, and how to get there. Things that need improving in 2021: - Widgets in iOS. Seriously it’s 2021z widgets have been around a while. There are no widgets in this app. - UI/UX improvements: editing your itinerary has gotten worse over time, not better. This needs a real overhaul for moving trip items between trips, and for obvious things like reconciling conflicts. It took me ten minutes to figure out how to reconcile a conflict. Time is money. Where’s my $75 for that 10 minutes lost? (Yes… that’s my bill rate.)

Extremely useful. Once you figure out all the available features this app is so useful for planning a trip. It makes it so easy because you can type in directions from one place to the next so you aren’t wasting time trying to figure out the address all you do is click on the pre typed in directions and googles maps will pop right up and take you there. You can fully plan your day using this app even down to the amount of time you want to spend in each store and what stores you want to go in. You can also add any dinner reservations or other sites you want to go see!! I definitely recommend for anyone planning a trip in advance it is a LIFE SAVER!!

Organizes my personal travel. I love to plan my personal travel, and like to keep it organized. I thought I was doing a fine job of noting flight information and confirmation numbers, along with hotel reservations, putting everything in my phone and on my calendars. But, I recently discovered Tripit, and, you know, it almost takes away the fun. Almost! Because, all of a sudden I only need to make a reservation, click Forward to Tripit and every detail is entered, in chronological order, in my Tripit account AND on my calendar! Wow! Amazing! Thanks, Tripit! (P.S. I haven’t found a way to insert information about lodging that is not in a hotel, but is a private stay, at say, my sister’s home.)

Great App!. This is a great App! It helps me organize my travel and the travel of my colleagues, friends and family. I can check on the status of their flights, and if it looks like they’re going to miss their connecting flight, I can call the airline and make alternate arrangements all while they’re in the air! One feature that I wish it had, and prevented me from giving this App 5 stars is the ability to toggle between my (user’s) local time and the local airport time. If the arrival time into Paris is 9am, what time is that here in Arizona? It would be nice to know what (my) time they land. I have to use a second App to find this out. If I had this feature all through the TripIt App, I would definitely rate this 5 stars!

Lifeline. I travel frequently (top tier frequent flyer status on AA, Delta and JetBlue). This app is my absolute guide for keeping track of where and when. It’s an essential tool! Lately the app has been getting confused: it has tied together completely unrelated trips into one long trip. When I go home and start another trip a few days later it’s a new trip. Not tied to the one I just finished. These illogical errors didn’t happen in the past. Editing and separating unrelated trips is cumbersome and sometimes the problem seems to multiply. I’ve also been buying airline tickets for other people (my children) and the app gets really confused. Overall: I live by it and need this app!

Convenient & efficient. This app saved my sanity during my 2 month long backpacking trip through Europe. I can’t even begin to estimate how many hostel, plane, bus, train, mueseum bookings I made and to have all the information stored in one place made keeping track of everything easy. It was also super helpful to be able to have a visible timeline of my journey. The automatic import feature straight from your email inbox is so convenient, you don’t even have to organize the trip yourself, just make your bookings and tripit does the work for you. As a type-A planner this is an amazing app, I love it.

Very useful app. It is rare that I find an app that works quietly and efficiently to do what it claims. This is one of the rate breed. I love this app. It makes my travel experience truly easier. All the information I need on my travel details (flights, airport info, transportation, car rental, hotel) are all quickly accessible. Airline confirmation codes are quickly available at check-in. And uploading all this data is literally as easy as forwarding my emails from all my vendors to TripIt. No constant, distracting barrage of ads. And I have a history of past trips that I can reference when I want to recall the details of one. I am very happy to write a review on a product that works so well and is so useful.

Appreciate TripIt. Overall my experience with TripIt has been very positive. I appreciate the way that the application organizes information and makes it easy to find details about an upcoming trip including reservation and/or confirmation numbers. There are a few small items that could be better such as notifications when there isn’t actually something I need to be notified about. Also at times difficult to adjust a trip when changes have occurred and trips are duplicated rather than updated. Again those are small items that I am willing to work around because overall the application works very well.

Quicker than the airlines. I was sitting in the Admirals Club lounge when Trip It told me that my flight was delayed for two hours. There was no announcement in the lounge so I decided to speak with the attendants. They checked their computers and still didn’t see a delay. After three minutes their computers updated the delay and I was able to switch my flight and catch a different flight 10 minutes later. I would have sat there two extra hours had Trip It not informed me. Another great thing about TripIt: when you get off the your flight it will tell you which baggage claim you can find your bags that. Excellent service.

Requires considerable fussing. Traveling over time zones means the flight or what have you shows up incorrectly. This and other details of the way it process info mean that I constantly have to fuss with entries to get them to appear correctly (and I never really trust what does show up) in my iCal. I like that I can forward travel plans in emails to he site for automatic processing, but as ?I said, these never show up just right. Too little flexibility in editing an entry: I can add notes to an entry when I first edit it (e.g., adding all dep. and arrival times and flight numbers for a multi-leg flight to the “notes” in any one flight’s entry) but editing after that doesn’t give me the “notes” field (or much of anything else to edit or add, just the basics. Nice idea for an app; I’ve used it for a long time in lieu of better options, but this one could work better.

Waste of time. So I have to enter absolutely every detail of my trip, by hand, and the app will remind me? Was the app designed in 1994? It reminds me of the promise in the 1980’s that your computer will balance your checkbook, then you discover that you can just do it yourself faster and easier. Truly pointless app. Interface is cluttered and requires way, way too much hand entry. Forwarding details of an itinerary only works for some emails, not all. Hotels, airport parking and events simply don’t work so you have to enter them by hand. Airline reservations work sometimes, but the airline itself will send you a reminder anyway, so why bother with the app? Endless emails telling you of the constant errors the app encountered are incredibly annoying and clutter your inbox. Total fail. If the free version is this awful I can only imagine how stupid you’ll feel paying the huge fee for a subscription. Oh and apparently the subscription auto-renews, just like a sleazy dating app. Deleted.

Worth every penny. I’ve been using TripIt Pro for about 6 years and absolutely love it and have happily paid the yearly fee. But never expected it would save me so much money. I just got an email from TripIt today that my flight that I’m taking next week (and booked two months ago) has dropped almost $300 in cost. After a 30 minute wait on hold, I have two $290 flight credits for our two tickets and have kept the same seats. I would have had no idea and it’s especially great because the airline has currently suspended change fees so I got the whole amount difference. Thanks TripIt!

Saved me many headaches. I now have used TripIt Pro for a couple of years both domestic and several international flights. I have been notified of gate changes even before they post it or make an announcement in the waiting area. I am notified of flight time changes and flight number changes even before the airline notifies me. Saved me missing a flight that was rescheduled an hour earlier due to summer schedule. Keeping everything together flight, hotel, car rental is a blessing. Especially the conformation codes. Have referred to them at hotels several times. I recommend TripIt with the Pro Add on to any serious traveler.

Once innovative, Now stale. I have used Tripit for 5 years, and it has proved invaluable on many trips, especially the options to look for alternate flights, track available seats, and automatically import travel info from my email. Unfortunately, development has stalled since it was purchased by Concur. The import process is often buggy, and manually entering data in the app is incredibly frustrating. For instance, deleting a segment of a flight itinerary deletes all the other flights and adding data to an entry does not autofill or auto-capitalize. I would love to see some improvements to the basic functions of the app. Thank you.

So good--so Bad. Upgrade one star to 5. Glad I gave it another go. I really believe it superior to TripCase. They’ve corrected my issues. It’s now good enough to drop all other similar apps. Previously have a 4 star review because anyone you sent your itinerary to had to sign up. Without that it would have been 5. In the meantime they have saved me money, with alerts, twice. NOW, however, they have gone too far. With the latest update you could NOT get to your info without first clicking that the new version was "brilliant". No other options and no info without clicking, It is a better app than tripcase, but I will no longer use it. They are disgusting and blatent in their business practices.

An Essential Trip Planning App. I downloaded this app a few weeks ago while I was doing initial planning for a trip that is now a week and a half away. I almost immediately appreciated how well it figured out what my trip details looked like but now that I am nearer to departure I am absolutely blown away that it is looking through my emails (which I gave permission for) and plugging in hotel confirmation numbers and other details as they arrive in my in box. It even forecasts the weather at each destination. This particular trip has a lot of moving parts (multiple destinations, multiple flights, etc) and it is lovely to see everything laid out for me. Don’t know what I did without it.

Great itinerary keeper. After using TripCase for many, many years... I am really enjoying the move to TripIt! Integrates pretty seamlessly with Concur. One REALLY annoyed by thing about all these travel apps is too many alerts. “Your trip is starting soon...”. No it’s not. It’s 2 days away. When you travel all the time, that’s pretty far off. Between the airline notices, the hotel emails & alerts & now the TripIt alerts, I’m getting way too many alerts. I know I can switch them off, but now I’m worried I’ll miss something important. I need an option to only alert me about important changes to the trip (departure time or gate changes only). No need to alert me about upcoming hotel stays or car rentals!

The one no brainer app I adore.. Five years in, I use this app constantly - it ranks up their with email, browser, twitter, google maps and podcasts for how important it is. I have *zero* reservation about spending almost any reasonable sum with Tripit - it’s like a professional travel assistant always at your side. Wish I could give it six stars. ——- Reporting back after another 2 years, this app continues to be a delight. It does a very few things phenomenally well, and continues to get better at them month over month. Having a single point of truth for all travel, past, present, and future is just a remarkable demonstration of how technology can make our lives better.

It has been 5 years since I initially gave it 5 stars. I wish I could give it even more. As an organizational tool alone, Tripit would have been the be best travel app ever written. But it is now even more than that. It watches my flight status and alerts me when flight changes put my connections at risk. It gives me one-touch access to alternate flights. But even with the free version that I started with (I now gladly pay for the yearly Pro edition), it helped me organize my trips so I knew if I had booked my flight, my hotel, airport transfers, my dinners, and adjusted time zones for my meetings and presentations. When travel was busy, it was easy to overlook a detail, but Tripit shows it to you in a timeline that makes sense. It also has easy reliable and USEFUL travel info like what types of electricity plugs and how much to tip. Tripit is a great, easy, well-thought out app that organizes travel in a logical way. It is the Gold Standard for travel organization, and it’s logical functionality should be a blueprint/ideal for all apps. In summary, on a scale of 1 to 10, it’s an 11.

So easy and everything on one place. This is the best app ever I shared it with two friends that are not Internet savvy, and they are very excited to use this for their upcoming European trip. My friend and I are able to share our updates and I love the expansions on each location that provides more detail that we don’t have to look up. I do wish they could add some sort of budget where you could see the total of your budget at the top or something but other than that it’s amazing. It’s a great app they can be used with, anything you’re doing on your trip and I love the chronological order

120 day World Cruise. TripIt is easy to use and share your journeys. However, after entering about 60 days of our cruise, I could no longer enter ports. I received an error message. I used the help center and followed their recommendations. I finally uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. After repeating the 60 days I got the error message again. Chatted with the help center and discovered that I could only have 60 ports. I made a part 2 of the rest of my cruise. I discovered on the first day of our cruise that I was only allowed 3 documents per trip. Neither of these things were in the description of the app. 3 pictures for 60 ports is useless. I now wonder what else is limited. Could I have made each day a trip? The app could have been the perfect answer to keeping and sharing memories.

My security blanket. I rarely take the time to review a product, but this is the best travel idea ever! I love planning our trips and spend hours browsing for the best flights and cruises, private excursions, and accommodations to suit our needs. Every step of my itineraries can be integrated, simply by forwarding the details to TripIt as I receive them. There is a free app, which does a good job, but Tripit Pro offers many extras, which add alerts, price drops, and many other perks. Everything I need to know to manage up to four trips a year is always available on my phone or iPad. And on a travel day, Tripit sends updates about on-time status, as well as gate changes or cancellations.. If you travel, take a minute and check it out.

Helpful for wedding planning. I’m getting married out of state, and have been having to balance, planning, flights, hotels, etc. along with the wedding. If not for this app, I would be booking all kinds of things on the wrong date. This app is keeping me sane. I’ve also used it on some recreational trips with my family. It’s great to keep everybody on the same page, especially when you infrequently have the chance to talk about minute details. I’ve pretty much forced every person I’ve taken a trip with recently download this app, and they all love the layout and the way it looks.

So far so good. When google trips shut down I was forced to find a new app. After trying several other I discovered this one. TripIt made it so convenient as it pulled the reservations from my email. As an added bonus thru my employer I get the pro. My only issue is once it read the date wrong and had a trip that didn’t exist....it also created the correct trip. And another time all the information from a trip went missing. It had the airports and times, just not the airlines and flight numbers. After I entered these manually all seemed to be good. I travel quite a bit for work and pleasure, so this is very helpful to see what plans I have left to make on each.

11.6 Messed Up The App. I loved this app and would have given it 6 stars until I updated today. Now whenever I go to open the app, it has logged me out. This takes away a lot of the content convenience of the app since I cannot just pull up my itinerary and I have to stop, step to the side and log into the app to see what is next. I’ve gone back to using individual airline/hotel/rental car apps for now. Hopefully they fix it quick or I will be canceling my pro account and finding something more efficient. UPDATE: They did fix the login issue, and they did so rather quickly, which makes me think it was a widespread problem. A comprehensive testing of any updates would be a good idea. I was in the middle of an important trip, and while it is not the end of the world and I can get along fine without and app because I prepare for that, I pay for the premium service so I have that convenience. I updated my review to 4 stars for now because it is a great app when it doesn’t ask you to log in every time. Hopefully their team will do better testing before pushing out updates in the future.
