My main gripe w/ this app is the recommendations. They take so long to update them. I've seen stories on there that are weeks old. Sometimes they will take stories down and put them back up later on. Overall the rest of the app is good.
Pocket still does what it says on the tin, but with a lot of cruft. Developers have to make money, I get that. But what started as a lightweight read it later app has ballooned into a kind of bloated mess. I prefer to pay a fair price for software... Not 99-cents, but a real fair, set-by-its-creator price. This freemium model, with the in-app purchases to make things complete... No thanks. I'm currently using Instapaper.
Just started using this app and I must say that I like the layout. Simple but practical. It is missing some basic features such as highlighting and adding notes via Apple Pen. Any chance these features will be coming in the very near future?
(Update) I live the app but I am not being able to use it lately. It's pretty frustrating. I cannot save articles, read them or even navigate the app. Please help ******* This app is amazing. I am never missing interesting articles again. I have this app in all my devices
I've been using the app for years and have rarely had a problem. As for those complaining about the ads, nothing in life is free, and the developers can't make a living if every user is a free-loader. I will echo another reviewer's sentiment that articles are not pushing to my devices in the background as reliably as they used to. More annoyingly, though, is that the app doesn't yet support the 10.5 iPad display: the UI is blown up and text is quite blurry. I can only hope that supporting this new screen size is on the developer's list of priorities.
I used to be a heavy user of the app to find content while I was away from the laptop. When the developers started trialing the horizontal scrolling feeds, I gave them my input on how cumbersome it was. Very sad to see this is now the main style of navigation for the app. I'm using Pocket far less than I was and only adding to my reading list from the desktop.
I've been using this app for quite some time now, and I haven't experienced any problems up until this past month or so. When I attempt to save an article, it doesn't save until several hours or even several days later. This has been a consistent issue lately. I've also noticed articles showing up twice, and when deleting one copy, the app automatically deletes the other.
Use to be free now charging for add free. This latest version puts unsolicited ADDS right in the middle of your personal reading list! And they are now charging to get rid of these annoying adds. Come on! Either make it free, make a one time purchase price but don't stick it to us like this. This stinks, you're getting greedy and this app is just not worth $50+ bucks a year. I will no longer recommend this App.

@_seekchic: 42. Pocket 한마디로 말하자면 관글함 같은 것입니다. 이게 가장 특출난 어플인지는 모르겠으나 이런 거 사용하면 일괄적으로 볼 수 있어서 좋더라고요. …
Hands down a must have app Prd. All the complains people have I use Pocket on iPad iPhone, Android , Windows and Multiple computers and have Zero issues ! Top 3 apps I can't live without !
POCKET DOESN'T WORK. You cannot save articles from Safari. It doesn't even give an error message. It just does nothing. Useless. Luckily, INSTAPAPER WORKS GREAT. Use that instead.
Doesn't stay logged in, extension breaks. Other apps never have these issues
Nuff said. Great app clearly something not working correctly
Every second or third time I open the app, it makes me log in again and then runs me through an (unneeded) intro to how it works. Very difficult to use right now.
I use pocket to save my articles that I want to share later. The best part of the app is there is no storage limit. Awesome!
Just realized today that I could not save a NY Times article using Safari. After loading the article via their app, I clicked on the box with the upward pointing arrow and chose Pocket to save the article (as I did with many other articles today). I went immediately to Pocket - nothing! Why?
One of my favorite and most useful apps.
Seriously, enough already! Allow me to filter out specific websites from Recommended Tab
I've been using Pocket for a while now, and I really love it. It lets me save links and it syncs them across all of my devices. The recommended feature does a really good job of bringing articles from all over the internet for me to read (and waste hours on). The politics on the recommended tab gets annoying sometimes. I have two issues with the app though. For one, when I read a recommended story and click back, the feed refreshes and the article disappears. The second is that the explore feature found on the browser extensions isn't in the iOS app. In all, it's great!
