good app. Works well. My only suggestion is that in addition to stating the starting debt, to also calculate the current debt balance. I also would like to be able to key in my own payment amount, not the minimum payment required which automatically calculates when you press ADD PAYMENT. It would also be nice to be able to add when a purchase is made on a credit card. If they update these features it would get a 5 star rating from me.

Been using for almost three years. It is a great way to keep track of your debt and it is a great motivator to help you get closer to your goal of being debt free. When I am eventually debt free I will miss using the app because it has become a part of my bill paying routine

Amazing. I hardly ever go out of my way to write a review for an app but I had to make an exception for this app. Almost a year ago, I was looking at 10k in debt. Today I have paid off 3 of my 5 debts, with a little under 5k to go. While it's taken a lot of patience, changes in lifestyle and being wise with extra income, this app has also completed the puzzle. In the beginning, I was using an excel sheet that messed up constantly and didn't account for certain things. I found this app on a financial website and downloaded it immediately. It's worth the money, and I show it to anyone who will let me. It's very user friendly, gives you an estimated date you will pay off, and some days it feels more like a game rather than something scary (I challenge myself sometimes to make the pay off date sooner). The visuals and options are great. Even if I haven't made a payment, I check the app a couple times a week to remind myself how far I've come and to encourage myself to keep going. One day I will pay this off! Thank you so much Pay off Debt, you are helping me reach my goals!

Easy Customizable Secure. I just got this version of the app and all the previous recommendations have been added, as far as I can tell. It's really easy to use and understand. The options let you set up the payment in order of smallest to greatest or highest interest rate to lowest or anything else you want. The app also inclues a password feature to keep all your data secure. This beats the heck out of anything I could have done - and it's easy to use.

Really like this app. It is easy to use, simple to load the data in and has a simple "paid" feature. It is great to watch the debt being paid down - love the visuals and the timeline chart. It's great that it syncs between iPad and iPhone!! In the future would like to see enhancements that allow for bi-weekly payments such as automatic payroll deductions for things like car payments or 401K loan repayments.

A good first attempt, I hope this app is developed to conclusion. I really like the feel of this application. The email report is nice for sharing info with another. The amount of configuration is just about right. You get enough options to set thing up to meet your plan, without being buried in needless options. Unfortunately, the current calculation is not a debt snowball. A debt snowball applies a constant total payment as debts are paid off (i.e once I pay off the first debt, I apply its payment to the next debt in line). There are several philosophies on what order to pay off the debts, but all snowballs follow the idea on constant payment. I do think it is a good idea to allow users to turn off the snowball (as the application currently calculates). But you do need to at least include a true snowball approach in an application like this. I am giving 3 stars on the assumption that the author will add a snowball payment option. I will gladly give 5 stars to the next version if it has it. If there is no intent to add a snowball calculation, I would only give 1 star.

Motivating and helpful!. I always thought I had my debts organized, but this app (I also tried another one that I don't like as much) is truly helpful and easy to use. The only thing I wish it did, was show the minimum payment on the first screen, instead of having to click on each individual debt to see what I had entered.

The App I use the most. Great app, helps me to keep track of my debt and allows me to see the timeline in which I will be done paying off each debt. That's very motivating to me. And I love the snowball effect of paying off each debt and then adding that amount to you use to pay to the next debt. I have recommended this App to many of my friends.

NICE! WORTH IT!. Changes to the format could make this app a lot more self explanatory and easier to use for those who don't understand what the whole "snowball" thing is about. But all said and done this is the best app I have purchased. Just fill in some basic info and the app does all the calculating for you. Now looking forward to being free from credit card debt in two years instead of going about it the way i was and being miserable for at least the next six years. Thanks! This is the visual motivation I needed to get my finances in order.

Like this app.. I like that I can configure my snowball and use it as a guide to help get out of debt. It also helps me see progress being made.

Paid off more than 27k with this app!. I was MORE THAN 27 THOUSAND in debt. I was drowning. This app helped me figure out which debts to pay off first and then roll over my payments so I could pay them off faster. Felt good to add my payments each month and see the estimated time until debt freedom. I still have student loans, but my credit cards and personal loans are gone. Thank you for this app! I used this and Albert to manage my money and escape the clutches of debt.

Excellent app; a "must have". Excellent app; a "must have". Once you insert your original and current balance along with payment amount it will estimates length of months/years before paid. Reminders also pop up to tell you of payments. Works great.

Easy, helpful, motivating. I like this App because it helps me keep track of my debts in an efficient manner. Every time I update a debt/made a payment, it helps to visually see that the debt balance is lowered. I've never had any problems within the App and it's simple to setup and navigate. I can't wait to be out of debt for good and I feel like this App is going to be an extremely helpful tool in accomplishing that goal.

Keeps crashing. I love the app but it crashes so much. It crashed yesterday again and it still won’t open. Wish an update could be pushed out to fix it. I’m about to get a different app.

Expected More for the $$. This app is fine as a list of your debts and their corresponding individual amortization tables. I was hoping to have a sum of my minimum payments on all my cards and then have the ability to play around with additional funds to see how much to apply to each card to pay the least interest... you can enter additional funds but you’re on your own to determine the best place to apply them.

Optimistic About This One. I'm always suspicious of those who leave nothing but 1 star reviews.  Pay Off Debt is one of those applications that has a great start and could morph into something really special.  The mechanics behind this application present the user with a great birds-eye view of how their debt reduction efforts are evolving.  The visual graphs representing your payoff provide a quick visual reference of where you currently stand.  This is important whereas anyone who has learned about credit scores will tell you that credit scores are based on percentage of debt.  Having your debt below 50% or 35% paid off increases your credit score dramatically.  This application shows you that representation. I agree with the other reviewer: graphs showing current payment method versus the snowball effect would be a nice bonus feature.  Also a feature whereas when one loan is paid off, the monthly payment could be applied to another debt automatically.  I think those two items would make this application shine. So this app gets top marks: not only for what it does but for what it will do. The author tells me an update is already in the works. Keep up the good work!

Worth paying for. Love this app. Simple, visual and addicting. Lets you adjust payments, rearrange order of paying off debts and puts things in perspective. Only suggestion I would offer is for developer to put a note of which "mode" it's in when you are looking at your debts. When I first set it up I forgot that I chose the snowball method of paying everything. It wasn't until I switched to the regular mode that I could really see the benefit of "snowballing." Having something clearly indicating this (and not just in the option settings) could be useful if you need the visual reminder, as I do. Highly recommended.

Snowball melted. I love the idea of this app, however after a couple months of recording my payments, NONE of the balances are even close to the real balance. I have even cleared it and reentered the information. Still was incorrect.

Debt Snowball!. I really like this app; has snowball, customization of the payoff of your debts as well as a calculated debt free date. I have been using it for a while and I really enjoy how easy it is to use.

Good app, simple & helpful. This app’s simplicity is great to focus purely on the numbers and see your debt payoff progress. It’s helped me stay accountable and pay off credit cards much faster. Some of the features are counterintuitive and a little annoying, but once you get used to it the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. Highly recommend.

Intuitive and useful. I think this app is very intuitive-add your debts in the settings page and see it when you open the app. I don't really understand the reviewer who said they couldn't set it up-it seems simple enough to me and I'm not the most tech savvy person. You can track your payments easily, whether you pay the minimum or custom amount. If you are looking for a visual of your debt and a better understanding of your payments, interest, and time to becoming debt free, this app is for you!!

This is THE ONE. I’ve spent quite a few bucks trying all these debt reduction apps. Some don’t reports but have a great interface. On others the interface looks something from the 80s but the reports are great. I’ve finally settled on this app. It truly is the best. I really like, too, that you can play with the Snowball amount and see the differences without affecting any of the accounts. This way you can see the time until payoff. On some other apps, if you change the Snowball amount it screws up the previous payments and it’s a nightmare. HIGHLY recommended.

Single Focus, But Useful. Pay Off Debt will help you direct your available cash to your most expensive remaining debt, and will guide you through paying off credit cards and loans until you are debt free. Just like most apps in iTunes, Pay Off Debt does one thing, and does it very well. If you are looking for more or less than a tool to help you prioritize your debt payments, you are in the wrong place. Another tip to consider as you look to conquer your debt, do what is most motivating to you. If that means paying off a smaller balance with a lower interest rate, DO IT. The motivation will matter more than the extra cost. Good luck!

2nd time reinstalling. It takes a long time to enter all of the different debts and interest rates and payments. And while it is a quick process to enter payment, when it works, it doesn't make up for the time I've spent having to delete the app and reinstall it. After a few payments, the app ceased to function properly both times. Both times, I was suddenly only able to make only standard minimum payments. If I tried to make a special payment, or go in and fix the remaining balance when the program calculated incorrectly, I would have a blank part of the screen on the bottom where the number pad was supposed to be. The first time this happened, I thought it was a fluke. So I reinstalled the program, did it again. And now it just started happening again! So here I go, the LAST time, to try and make it work.

Los this app. After trying a different app to manage my finances, I switched to this one and love it. It shows your starting amount owed on each bill and the remaining amount after payments. It's great to get motivated to pay off debt!

simply wonderful. I was looking for something that would allow me to keep track of mundane snowball that was a little better than a calculator, pencil, and paper- and this is it! I am sooo excited to structure my debt in an organized way so that I can actually see my progress in one location. Thank you for developing such a useful app! Everyone with consumer debt should have access to this wonderful tool.

Love this app!. Simply said this app helped change my life! I was in a never ending battle with with debt and the simple, straightforward use is this app helped change that. I was able to enter in everything and track my payments as needed. It was easy to modify and sort in the order I wanted to pay them off. Being able to see my progress is very helpful and motivating. If you are looking for a place to start, I highly recommend this app!

Crashing with fist use. Started to enter debts and app continue to crash every time. Frustrating!

Good but changes would make it better. I choose this snowball debt app over others because it has a progress bar for each debt showing what % has been paid off. My home showed 78% for instance---yeah for me. I have suggestions though for the next update •Give us graphs •Give us a page that shows each month how much more will be owed if we stick to the snowball method •Change my biggest negative about this app. I put in my snowball amount (the extra I'll pay each moth) and it says 3 months till my first bill is paid off but the other bills are still showing the original payoff date. At the top it says I'll be out of debt April 2012--Again yeah for me--but some debts show close to 8 years above the progress bar. The progress bar's % is right though. This app is a good deal @ $2.99 but like most apps, it sure could be better.

Motivating and Mobile. Wow! My snowball hasn't been doing much rolling lately. It's going to be nice to have this app to refer to in a moment of weakness or just any time I want to check my progress. I would love a way to see a checkbox for whether I recorded the minimum payment for the current month so I didn't have to remember which payments have been recorded. Until that is added I will have to record all payments at the same time, which won't be too bad. I love that the app button is positive. "PAID" is so much nicer to look at then "DEBT"! Thanks for that! And for the App! Yay! I can do this! 3 years to freedom!

Needs work ... glitchy. Really want to use this app but it stops working after entering only 2 or 3 debts...paid for this. Have to keep deleting and reloading it. I'm sure this would be great if it would work properly.

Great app. I love this app. It could use a few things, live landscape view, smaller text so it fits better on the screen, a graph would be great. Emergency fund at the top of bills list, option would be great. All in all it is the best I have found so far, i have downloaded lots of snowball apps, Best one so far, i really like it.

Great app. I was a bit confused at first on how to use it but after a little figuring out and some help from friends I got all my bills and debts put in. I can't say that this app is amazing but it has helped somewhat and I do think it is reasonably priced. The notifications and reminders for deadlines are great and that is why I'm giving it five stars.

Love this app, one feature missing. I love this app--it's a great motivator to help keep you on the path to paying off your debts. Being able to see your overall payment progress and your progress on each individual account on the same screen is useful, and watching the percentages go up as you make payments feels good. Being able to model what-if scenarios helps a lot, too. The one feature I'd love to see in this app is the ability to see your payment history; that's the only thing preventing me from giving a five-star rating.

I love this app but,. This is a great app but it has developed an issue where when I try to configure snowball the app closes down. Also when I scroll through payment history it glitches and takes me back to the top. Please fix.

Love this!. My biggest debt is my mortgage and other apps like this don't amortize, but this one does and I love it! It even accounts for my escrow and subtracts it from my principle and interest! Is it sad that I'm excited to pay next months bills and watch my numbers go down? There's one downside, though..I've been on the debt payoff journey for a while and I'd love to see my progress from before I downloaded the app. I already added them and said I owe $0 on it but I'd love to see my progress on the graph. That's totally not a big deal though, the app still deserves all 5 stars

I'm debt reducing thanks to this app!!!!. I've FINALLY found something that works! This app is easy to use! With this app in my pocket I now have the ability to keep up with my debt snowball! I've never been more successful!!! I highly recommend this app to everyone!! I am requesting one change that would make this app a true 5 stars to me....right now I forget if I marked that I paid the bill and the app doesn't alert me if I paid the amount for the month. I would like for you to add some sort of alert that would indicate that "this bill has been paid for the month of November" etc. As of right now I have so many bills due at odd times of the month that adding this feature would alleviate possibly logging it twice accidentally. Thanks!

Some things broken after last update, and missing features.. After updating to the last version, existing graph data is not being displayed properly. Instead of showing the orange bar, it’s completely black. Also, this app is in ios12 but it feels like it’s made for iOS 9. Come on dev. We paid you. Give us biometric locking and cloud sync.

Update Requested.. The App is acting up… crashing when configuring the snowball under settings, not updating payments in the history, not providing a payoof date time when adding new debts… If it works as it’s supposed to I would rate it a five star App!! Please fix it!!!

Where was this app four years ago?!?. Several years ago, when I launched my "get out of debt" plan, my tool of choice was a spreadsheet. Now that I've set up some scenarios on this brilliant app, I curse those days of yore. While this app lacks advanced graphing and scenario capabity, it gets the job done efficiently. If you are looking for a good way to manage your debt load on the go, this is a good choice overall.

Easy to use. I've been using this app for a while now, and it keeps me on track with exactly what my monthly payments should be each time I get a debt paid off and increase my snowball size. I really like the updated look too, and being able to see the amortization charts for the debts. Super easy to use and very motivating.

RAS. I love this app is great because you have all of your outstandind debt in one place and have control over it. I don't like the new update it has no setting option can you fix that. Also it would be a bonus if after paying the debt you could see a big PAID accors the screen something to thing about thks.

Pay off. This app is just necessary if you have problem with many debts. The best feature is the ability to sort your debts by different criteria but follow my advice sort them out by highest interest rate and pay first the debt with the highest this is the way you will pay the fastest and you will pay lose less money to interest they are charging you.

Excellent tool!. This is a great app to motivate you to get out of debt. It's user-friendly, inexpensive, and allows you to adjust numbers to see how small changes can affect overall debt repayment. It's helped me in the month I've had it and I look forward to becoming debt free much more quickly than I would have otherwise!

YaY!. I just paid off my first debt thanks to this app! I swear being able to watch my % increase and my amount due decrease really helped me stick to the snowball plan. Just mailing monthly checks, and reading the statements isn't nearly as rewarding as this plan. Now paying off my debt feels better than shopping! Purchasing this app is my best investment EVER! Thank you! UPDATE! The update is bad! App will not open now! PLEASE FIX!!!!

Needs lots of work - Update Needed.. I thought this program would have what i needed but it did not. What they need to do is collaborate with DebtFreedom App and combines the two. It looked like this app would have everything the other did and more but I was really disappointed. Wasted $6 and got two apps that are worthless. Features Needed Every Debts On summery page (Main Page) needs to have payoff date listed. Total Debt needs to also reflect pay off date and interest saved using the snowball effect. Proper snowball effect. See DebtFreedom for explanation. When we set additional payment. Have it reflect immediately according to the settings we selected, updating all Payoff dates. It's nice to see how much a difference $10 or $20 can make. Also personalized Icons for debt.

This app is ok.... I don't love this app but I do like certain things about it. I like how it shows you the percentage for how much debt you've paid off but I wish there was a way to see the list of payments you've made already.

Decent app. Decent app but not very accurate with the numbers. Doesn't take into account insurance fees or balance protection, etc.

Need a reminder that your payment is due?. This ap will do that for you, Its shows how many payments are left and the gives you reminders of when they are due. What i felt it was lacking was the inability to show me how long it would take me to pay off a particular debt if I only increased my payment by $10 a month. I feel that this should be an option. My bank does this for my mortgage, so I assumed that this would be suggested on this ap. What it did do was give me a wake up call, seeing how long it would take me to pay this stuff off at minimum payments was a shock to my system, so it does make me motivated to pay it off faster. I also thought that if you include debts, it should be all debts, mortgage, water, electricity etc, and it should help you budget with the funds that you are actually bringing in. This in my opinion would make it a truly great ap.

Miss the percentage bars. I like the streamlined layout, but I miss the percentage paid off bars on the main page. I liked seeing them all at the same time, along with the total at the top

Has potential. My big thing with this app is I can't enter my own amount for a payment. Hecka lame!!!!! Second I have credit card and student loans and I wish it would show me the total debt for each category. Very minimal options in the edit menu. Waiting for an update to use again. I want to give this app a better rating but can't

Poor Execution. This application does not work with budgets, it lives off of a premise of minimum payments. After all of this are entered, it allows an "extra amount" to be utilized, however, that is not the same. The extra amount stays static, unless adjusted. This means that it isn't automatically adjusting a payment schedule based on retired debt. A waste of money for what is essentially a glorified spreadsheet.

Poor design, no list, unnecessary error messages. The interface & interaction design is very poor to the point that I have to squeeze my eyes and stare at my iPhone screen to read the buttons. There is no way to see a clean list of all your debts without having too much info/noise written down there. The setting basically doesn't give you any options to change the view. I'd like to be able to add more debts without going back to the settings. Its so awkward the way it is now. If i want to save a debt and like to add the details, like min payment, later, it keeps giving error messages. And more problems that won't fit in here. I regret having paid for this.

needs some work, not worth the $$. If this had the option to add random payments to different debts I would LOVE IT. Right now all I can do is make the one monetary payment that is set up. Right now, not worth the price. It seems like in real life if someone has a few dollars they might put it towards their debt, this app doesn’t allow for that as far as I can tell, and if it does and i have to search all over for it it’s not that great of a design, is it?

Great for college!. As a college student, this is a great tool to manage my bills and keep track of where I stand with each bill when a paper statement isn't readily handy. Student loans, rent, car payments, credit cards, and other misc. can all be kept here! Awesome app.

Nice!. This app showed me how I can pay off my student loan debt a full year early! The more debt I put in, the faster it gets paid off! Really great app to help you visualize that so that you become more aggressive with your debt payments.

Clear, concise, easy to use. Very nice and useful app! Better than most others like it on the market. Provides good "at a glance" info. The hardest part was gathering all the info from my credit cards. From there, the app does all the work.

One piece missing…. Great app only thing missing is it needs to add the monthly fees to the debt so its more accurate. Fees like the monthly finance charges. When it can be updated to be more accurate then it'll have 5 stars. This app is useless without the correct accuracy.

Poor app. Thought this would be a helpful app but lacks any flexability in reporting payments. Once you say what your extra payment is each month you can't easily change without having to go into readjust that payment. If you make more than a min payment to a bill other than the primary one your paying off you again have to go in and adjust the balance…it's a real pain. I'll be looking for a new app!

Does what it says. Awesome interface. Gives u an estimate. Best of its kind. Not entirely sure, but i think it only calculates from the balance u give it. Meaning that if interest increases your balance, you'll have to manually update if you want an accurate payoff time.

Fabulous app. As other reviewers have pointed out, this app is a basic, yet terrific app for tracking debt pay-off. It has certainly helped motivate me to pay off debt once and for all. Very intuitive and easy to use!

Horrible. I just downloaded this app, set up my debts. It gives me a balance and a total pay off date. I email myself the balance sheet (built into the app) and what I receive in my inbox is not the same balance I'm being shown in the app. I try to apply a custom payment of $260 to a debt, the balances doesn't change. I apply a $15,000 payment to the same debt and the principle balance goes down, as expected, and the starting balance goes up!

It's my lifeline. I never write reviews but I love this app so much I had to write one. This app is seriously the best. It has helped me get out of debt before and it's helping me again. So easy to use. it's my saving grace.

very good. I am tired of fighting about money, i find out this app. It helps me organize my debt and figure out when i'll be debt free. It make me comfortable. Thanks alot!

Good but limited. I like how simple the app is but it needs some improvement for adjusting the amounts. Always a few cents or dollars off. So now I don't do the auto pay I just enter in the amount off the principle each month. For the amount payed for this app it is very limited. Please make these simple change. Love that it give you estimate pay off dates

Thanks for the fix!. I love this app and was almost heartbroken when the updated crashed it. But it's back with the latest update! And even better!

THE GREATEST THING SINCE TOTAL MONEY MAKE OVER. I absolutely love this app! It helps me stay motivated to keep that snow ball rolling! AND instead of trying to come up with the words to explain it to my husband this app did it fir me! he is 100% on board with dumping debt now!

Functional debt tracker. Nice start. Snowball effect is powerful, and much more intuitive when you can visualize the progress compounding... so please strongly consider adding a screen to visually show the debt reduction trajectory. Y-axis would be debt remaining and X-axis time. Thanks in advance for (hopefully) adding.

Love this app!. Being able to see how much I owe and how quickly I can pay this off using the snowball method is very motivating. It helps me realize that I can live debt-free. And not just realize it but I'm going to do it.

Opened My Eyes. Wow, I never really thought about just how long it would take me to pay off the minimums. This put everything in perspective and made me want to make quick progress on my debts!

Cool. Pretty slick app. I would add one more star if there was a version for the iPad(not just the iPhone distorted version) and another star to make it 5 if the iPad and iPhone would sync the info between them. Or iPhone to iPhone for all that matters. Other than that it works great...and I've tried about 5 of them.

Great app. This app is for the person who needs to see their bills dwindle month to month. It also gives you the determination to get your bills paid off. As you see the percentage go up and the amount go down you realize you are meeting your goals of being debt free.

Great App. I Look at this app everyday.. I like that it will be the reason why I will be debt free in some years. It is a concept that I've known about but becuz the Apps does the calculation 4 me, it saves me time.. Great App, very beneficial ... Recommend 4 anyone who wants to be debt free at some point in there left rather sooner then later!!!👌👌👍👍😄

App. Great app, I was a little frustrated with update, but the new update fixed the crash problem, feel free to update on those who have iPhone 4s, 4 running the latest software.

Great Application. Slick interface, easy to use and does what I need. Works great on the new iPhone 4! This application is a must have to help you pay off your debt faster.

It needs an upgrade soon!. I have student, car and credit card debts. I entered them all separately, but unfortunately instead of showing me a separate grand total for each debt- it adds them all up and shows me the total debt for all three?? That's not quite right... Very dissappointed....it should be a very simple feature to add...

Decent. It won't pay your bills but it help keeps track of what you started out with & what you currently owe. I'm more determined to pay my bills just to see the bar get to 100%.

More visuals please.... I really like the App and the reviews don't lie. This is a good one. However I would like some more visual ways of displaying the debt. There was another app that had seemingly good visuals but wasn't rated as high so I went with this one. I am also working the debt snowball from Dave Ramey.

Handy Tool to Reduce Your Debt. I really enjoy how it the app is to use. It makes tracking my debt easier and it's convenient to have it on my iPod. I recommend it to people working on getting out of debt.

Awesome. This app is so great to keep track of bills and keeping track of what you pay each month & shows you how long it will take to pay off a loan, CC, ect. Very easy to use. Love!!!!

Very Good!!. I have been using it to get rid of my debt and it certainly guides you into how much you must pay to get rid of the smallest to the largest debt according to the money you have saved. Very good app to have! It puts all of your debt into perspective.
