It’s terrible now. I couldn’t sign into my account with all my points when buying Transformers last week, and the password link never sent to my email or trash after several attempts and hours of waiting (even though I get their advertisement emails still). So I used a guest account. Then used a guest account this week for the Flash, but needed to move the tickets back to this weekend, they won’t exchange tickets without an account sign in (unless you want to lose your $10 convenience fee). So, I created a new account with the same email and it somehow let me, now I get double the emails. But new account password didn’t work, and the password link doesn’t email it to me on this account either. So now I’m stuck paying the fee to cancel these tickets, then deleting the app and blocking their emails. This is after using them for years…

Fandango is a Rip Off. Do not use this app to purchase movie tickets. I was not able to attend the showing of the movie and they will not refund my money because it’s past the time of the showing! This is a rip off and absurd! I will never use this app again. I had tried to chat with customer service and I was never able to get anyone to help, so I called customer service and had them escalate the call. I received an email from customer service that they were not able to refund my money due to their policy. I just got ripped off. I called customer service again because I was not happy with the decision and I waited almost two hours before I got help and the answer was the same. I will never use this app again and I advise other people to do the same. They will keep you money and not care. If I could give them 0 stars I would . I will be contacting The Better Business Bureau!

Broken and annoying. I recently purchased 2 tickets for Parasite knowing that there’s an exorbitant surcharge per ticket. The transaction process in this app is far from clean. The app hung when I tried to purchase, so I pressed the cancel button and went through the process again. It asked if was sure and I said yes. It then hung a second time, so I pressed cancel again figuring I’m going to either have to purchase at the theatre or online. I checked my credit card app first just to make sure the transaction(s) didn’t go through and to my surprise, both of them did! Now I’m stuck with 4 tickets and 4 exorbitant surcharges when I only wanted 2 tickets. I tried to chat with support, but the queue was too long and I had to get going to the movie. I called support and was able to get an agent, but she would only refund the ticket price and not the surcharges because they were, “non-refundable.” So let me get this straight - you charge an exorbitant surcharge, your app is broken and then you don’t refund? Ridiculous policies and horrible customer service. I will never be using this criminal outfit again. When the app hangs like that, why even offer a cancel button? When I hit cancel, it asked, “are you sure” and I said yes. Apparently it still goes through with the transaction and charges you anyway.

Good interface Horrid Customer Service. Fandango provides a nice service. We do use it fairly often. However, beware if you purchase a ticket by accident. Christmas last year I bought tickets a a group of 14. I accidentally hit 16 and inadvertently bought two extra tickets. This was 4 hours prior to the movie. I spent the next 3 hours online and on telephone calls trying to cancel the two tickets. Fandango offers no means of canceling an order and when speaking to their rude customer service reps, refused to cancel the two tickets. I was so mad that I called Visa and explained the problem and they withheld the payment. Fandango then blacklisted my credit card. Just a bad customer experience with a company that had my money and were not about to give it back. As I said, good product, bad customer service.

Technical issues with buying tickets. The past four or five times I’ve attempted to purchase tickets for movies, I select my seats and go to purchase, but I get the loading screen, and then it tells me the seats are no longer available. Sometimes, if I wait long enough, the tickets get released back into the system (because they aren’t really unavailable; it’s just a glitch), and then it may or may not allow me to purchase them. One time, there were six of us going, and the glitch happened multiple times, so it looked like almost the entire theater was sold out. Eventually, I can usually get some tickets, but it always ends up being my second choice of seats. (And several times, when I got to the theater, the original seats I had tried to purchase were empty, so I know it’s a glitch and not just a case of two people trying to buy the same tickets.) I’ve updated the app several times since this problem started occurring, so it’s not an outdated app that’s the problem. Fix it please.

Missed the movie? You’re out of luck…. Bought tickets using Fandango, but then got delayed by a busier than expected restaurant and was late to the show. Asked the usher taking tickets about changing to the next show, was told to go to the head of the cashier’s line - where the cashier told me to go to the rear of the line. By the time the line reached me, it was too late for that show as well. Asked the manager for a refund, he took my info - not my name, number or email, just the ticket info - and told me Fandango would issue the refund. Looks like he lied, because Fandango WILL NOT ISSUE YOU A REFUND AFTER THE SHOW’S START TIME. So if you miss the show for any reason, you’re out of luck and out whatever those tickets cost you. Makes me wonder why anyone would get tickets from them in the first place. Fandango’s rep’s supervisor did say that they might be able to make an exception, were it not for the fact that the tickets had already been printed - because the cashier printed them, thinking he’d need them to issue the refund. So in this high tech world of buying tickets from a phone, no one wants to help their customers when things go sideways and you end up on the hook for it. Good luck - if I had that business model, I’d be out of business by now…

Theater locations incorrect. Twice I have used the app to reserve tickets and twice I have had problems with the app. The most recent being December 22, 2019. Difficulty #1 with the app - each time I go to use it I have to generate a new password. I have my passwords stored in “keychain” but they mysteriously do not work with the app (they do with the website). Difficulty #2 the biggest difficulty) even though I had my favorite theater locations selected and was choosing tickets at the theater of my choice, I was granted tickets to a theater in Maryland instead of Washington State?! The theater manager graciously gave us passes to “Rise of Skywalker” and there were seats left. He also advised me to use the app associated with the theater you are attending, which I will do from now on. This is the second time the app has failed me or a family member, it has since been deleted.

OK App, Poor Refund Policy/Customer Service. Purchased tickets for a movie only to arrive at the theater and be told the movie was not scheduled for the time shown on the app. It had been shown 3 hours earlier. Clerk said Fandango was bad about updating the schedule for their theatre, so I should contact them to get a refund. Having never had a reason to request a refund, and since Fandango created the situation, I waited until I’d returned home to contact CS. Well, things started out good then went from bad to worse with CS only responding only with a boilerplate comment. Policies are good to have, but sometimes their are extenuating circumstances that warrant breaking the policy. A prime example is when the company is at fault. I can put up with a lot if CS is good. In this case, Fandango failed miserably. Have one gift card left, but looking for a different app.

I MIGHT NEVER USE THIS APP AGAIN!!. I ordered a movie on fandango and, to my mistake, accidentally ordered for a 3D which makes me dizzy. I wanted to exchange it for another theatre but was told since I bought the ticket on fandango I had to do the return on fandango. I've returned tickets before through the app and never had a problem but since it was technically after showtime I wasn't allowed to do a return. I didn't even want my money back though I just wanted to exchange it for a different theatre which would've been cheaper anyway. I can understand no refunds after showtime but exchanges should still be optional. Especially during a grace period it was literally 2 minutes after the showtime the theatre wasn't even open yet. So that's a waste of $50 I'm going to have to repay now to see it at the same theatre, the same night just in a different room.

Horrible Experience. I ordered 4 tickets for me and my family and we were unable to get to the movie at the theatre I choose on time so when I tried to inform them I was unable to get to the show the app wouldn’t allow me to select my option . I then waited until I got home and tried to contact them and it still didn’t work . I kept getting an error that I had to come back at a later time . I chatted with someone the next day and he informed me he had to turn my request for a refund over to the escalation department for further review . They e mailed me and said I couldn’t get and exchange or refund . That is bazaar seeing their website was under some type of construction and I lost out on $30! I will never use this app again and I don’t think people should have to go through this type of experience when this app is supposed to be used as a perk to get your movie tickets ahead of time .

Beware!. There is a bug in the app. Watch out if you travel between time zones. I purchased my Star Wars tickets - 2 months ahead of time - while physically in a different time zone than where I live and watch the movie. In the days leading up to the showing, I double checked the time in the app several times. Even the morning of the show, when I opened the app it showed a countdown clock that my show started in an hour. But when I opened the tickets, the time the app had been showing was 2 hours off and I missed the show. 3 weeks after asking for a credit (not even a refund), I got a boilerplate response saying no credit because I waited until after the showtime to ask for a refund! How’s that for a Catch-22? I’m going to look for a different app.

Would be 5 but bad experience (read on). I would've put 5 for their great customer service but because this is their app their app has issues, I tried to select the closest location to buy tickets to but for some reason it had favorited a location 50 miles from me which I have never even looked at and definitely never favorited it. So instead of buying tickets to the one 3 miles away it bought tickets for 30 minutes later to the location 50 miles away which I didnt notice till there was 15 minutes left so I did the return but by the time the return finished it was passed the time the movie started at the location that I had already gotten to so I had to buy the tickets for an hour later and now I have to wait an hour to see the movie.

Won’t accept my money.. It always gives the “ Sorry, we were unable to process your order.” message, right at the very end after wasting my time, every single time. It doesn’t accept my PayPal or credit cards that work every day everywhere else. No explanation why. What’s even worse is that it then gives you the middle finger by going all the way back to the start, so you have to go through the whole process again right from the beginning. But does it actually forget you? No, it thinks the seat I couldn’t buy has been bought, so even if I was to get to get this piece of garbage working after multiple attempts (not that multiple attempts have ever made it work), then there’s a good chance you can’t sit in the seat you want near your friends. A ticket buying app that won’t let you buy a ticket is worse than trash right? Because trash doesn’t waste your time like this. Get the AMC app and use their deal. Never had a problem with that app because that company has the good sense to accept my credit card.

Never had problems til now. I love the fandango app, so easy to buy movie tickets. I’ve been using it for a long time with no problems til recently. I bought tickets to several movies in advance, into December, and they showed up in my purchases in the app for a long time, but now several are gone. I’ve signed out and back in, installed the app on a new phone, they’re still gone. Went online to my account through the computer and the movies are there so I just printed out all my confirmation numbers so I can get my tickets (wasting paper so using the app was so much more convenient). Hopefully the next update will fix it because I love the app (oh, and customer service didn’t help, they said they didn’t understand my issue)

Thieves. The app works fine but the company, itself, is terrible. I called to get a refund before my movie time at 12:30pm. They said that my wait time would be 5 minutes. After staying on hold for 10 minutes, I chose the option for them to call me back. While I was waiting on the call back, I chose the option to get my refund online. Online option did not let me do it so I called again because by this time it was almost 12:50 and still no call back. I proceeded to wait again, over 5 minutes and still no one answered. I waited at least 30 minutes this time before I chose the call back option. I still have not received a call or a refund. I spoke with Supervisor Frank Tillman and I was told that they cannot find my phone records, so I cannot get a refund. However I have a screenshot confirming that I put the request in before time but they say that it doesn’t matter because they have no phone records. Needless to say, I will never purchase from Fandango again.

Worst Company Service Ever. I purchased two tickets online 6/30. On my way to the theater I was involved in a car accident where police had to be called. The accident was not my fault. After the police reports were written and photos and information was exchanged it was way past the beginning of the movie. I contacted the 800 number and explained my situation. The associate said, just like your exchange/refund policy states in “certain circumstances” when requesting a refund or exchange it must be done prior to start but otherwise call the 800 number for assistance. She submitted my request to higher authority where it was reviewed and denied. I’m disgusted over the fact that it was denied. Accidents, COVID and life threatening situations happen. It means more to Fandango to rip me off the total of two matinee tickets than to credit me or send me a gift card to use at another time. I don’t want a refund. I will make sure to spread my experience around to as many people as possible that Fandango doesn’t care about their patrons. Totally disgusted with your customer service and higher authority! First and last time using fandango. I personally don’t go for movies often, but decided to purchase tickets through fandango for convenience. The experience was the complete opposite. There weren’t any seats available in the theater so I asked for a refund from fandango who then referred me back to the theater since they claimed they can’t refund me. I was already told to contact fandango by the theater staff so I felt like I was being tossed back and forth, let alone I couldn’t speak to a rep unless I made an account and it’s only through chat and I was in queue for 20 minutes. Which by the way if your movie started after while you’re waiting they’ll claim it’s past the showing time so no refund for you. I wish I could post pictures of my chat with rep Crystal since they don’t give you options to receive copies of chats I had to screen shot it. Although they claim not to give refunds the dialogue insinuated they can. Anyway not returning ever again this is why streaming is so much better.

I’d like this if I needed it.. The only reason I used this service is because someone gifted me a couple of gift cards. I don’t understand why or how Fandango is relevant anymore. Why is there a surcharge in order to use this service when I can use the different movie club apps and pay nothing but the price of the ticket. Fandango has jumped the shark and if you are still using this service you are a dinosaur. The only way I’d use this service is if It offered some sort of advantage over using the movie theaters apps. Seriously who wants to pay more when they don’t have to!? Just ask yourself that question Fandango and maybe you can save face. Offer me something to use your service! Show some appreciation for your customers by helping them save some money! I just paid a surcharge that was almost the full price of a movie ticket when I could have avoided paying this by using my movie club app. And those apps save me money on other service that the theater provides. Not to mention they have a points system that rewards me for my loyalty. So that adds up to some saving and free movies from time to time!

Horrible. I bought tickets for me and my sister to a movie and she accidentally told me the wrong theatre. With ten minutes to spare before the showtime, I tried over and over to cancel my tickets. I had no problem getting the tickets but then I try to cancel and I have nothing but problems in the app and online. They say I need a profile so I try to make one and then when I go to login they say it doesn’t match there records. So I try to make one again thinking maybe I messed up, nope still can’t login to cancel these tickets. I had plenty of time to get them cancelled and this app did nothing but mess up the whole time then once past my showtime, the app starts working fine. Tried to call customer service and they essentially tell me to do all the things I tried to do except now I won’t get my money back since my movie already started. So yeah I paid for two movie tickets that were never used. I’ll never purchase tickets through fandango again.

Not user friendly. Regrettably we received a Fandango gift card. As a first time user, I chose my seats but somehow they were switched at purchase. So instead of getting my selected seats, I received different seats!!! I didn’t discover this until my family arrived at the theater, sat where i thought we should sit, got shuffled around, and ended up in the lobby where the manager used my credit card to discover our actual seats. Much to our disappointment, time elapsed and once the movie started, there was no hope for a refund. No movie experience is worth such frustration. I call customer service who responded three hours later. In my frustration, I shouted expletives with the customer service lady. She said that she would talk to corporate. I hung up before I could say more that I’d regret. It boils down to my lack of understanding of how to redeem a movie gift card. I’d recommend you purchase at the window or get someone who knows what they are doing. In my anger, I can’t endorse Fandango. Try Regal or another online movie app.

Inadequate & antiquated refund and customer service system. App is great for purchasing tickets, but you better be 100% sure of your purchase. A friend of mine couldn’t make the time and I needed a refund to change for another showing and it’s nearly impossible to do so from the app. I didn’t even want a refund to my credit card, just as fandango credits to make a new purchase or simply just change the showing time. Waited for their “chat” service for an hour. Can’t review much on that because I never got to chat with somebody. I kept getting pushed back on their waitlist and if your on mobile you can’t leave the page even to reply a text message, They’ll loose the connection and send you back to the last spot on the waitlist. Total nightmare of an app. I’m not an old person, I can use tech just fine. The app just isn’t modernized to handle issues! At the end of the day Fandango is just a 3rd party middleman. I’ll be using Regal and AMC app for all my purchases from now on.

Would be 5 stars but.... I’m basically writing this review to see if anyone else is having a similar problem. I love the app and it was always my preferred way of purchasing movie tickets however, lately it has only been working when my phone is connected to WiFi. I could have superior LTE connection but whenever I open the app I get a message that states, “Try again when your internet is restored.” Is anyone else having this issue? It’s frustrating because I could be out with my friends or family and decide we wanted to watch a movie but I have no way of purchasing tickets. I figured that this was some glitch that was going on but it’s been months now and I haven’t seen anyone else have this issue. I love this app but if it won’t work the way it should I’m just going to delete it. If anyone knows what’s going on, please let me know what I need to do to fix it.

Thief. Your app took us to a theater 500 miles away from our actual location. We could not use those tickets and actually repurchased tickets on your site. When customer service was contacted we were met with someone with not so good English and a attitude. When we requested a manager the rep I believe her name is Maria debated on why and how long it would take to get a manager. She then placed us on hold for several minutes then picked the phone back up posing as a manager. Half way through the complaint she hung the phone up. I have never met such ignorance when we’re the ones who has lost funds and time dealing with your site. We will never use this platform again and encourage everyone we know to do the same. Lastly the manager at the movie theater stated “this happens a lot with fandango, we encourage people not to use it because the purchase is out of our hands” this is obviously a flaw and I’m sure thousands if not millions have been stolen from people. However your policy is good luck next time. Never again!

Not worth it. I’m still trying to decide if it’s worth it. I take my siblings to the movies once a month, i go about once a month as well. With the tickets I buy I earn the exact amount ($5) I spend for a convenience fee. So therefore I’m earning nothing in reality. And your reward will expire soon. How silly is that. If I earned it I shouldn’t have to use it in 3 weeks. Just another grab to get you to spend money even when there’s nothing you want to see in theater. Also, The app is not always functional, I reserved seats and another person said they had reserved them too. Because my app checked me out at a completely different theater I requested, one that was saved in my favorites. So I don’t think it’s worth it, unless you need to reserve seats for a popular movie , you’ll pay a higher price because of “convenience”, and hopefully the app didn’t check you out elsewhere

Bad App, Bad Customer Service. The app repeatedly crashed when I attempted to pay for the movie. I am talking dozens of times. When I finally got it working by first updating iOS (brand new update so the old one still should have had support) and then updating the app (brand new update, so the old app also should have had support), I forgot *this one time and this one time only* to change the date from the default date of the same day (yesterday) to the correct date (today). I found this out when I got a message asking me how the movie was last night, at which point customer service was unavailable. Today I told customer service all of this and they (to their credit, politely) told me that they would not issue an exchange for the correct date. I told them that if they did not that I would write this review, placing the blame for the problem primarily on the coders making the app, but also criticizing their exchange policy, and never use Fandango again. She said she was sorry but that was how it was, and we wished one another good day. Is any amount of convenience is worth paying twice for your movie even one time? This could have happened to anyone, and if you use this app it will eventually happen to you. Don't do it.

Never buy their gift cards. I bought a digital gift card to give as a present, my experience with any other digital gift card I’ve bought from other institutions is that you should have your digital gift card within minutes not with Fandango. They say it usually takes 20mins but it can take up to 6 hours. Well 7 hours later I called customer service and they couldn’t provide me the info. They put me on hold then came back with a lame excuse saying that it was under security review which is a bunch of bull. I requested a refund and they said they don’t give refunds. I had to buy a different gift and now I’m stuck with a $100 gift I may never use.

Double charges. Went into Fandango app to buy tickets. The app failed and closed on it is own. I go back in to buy two tickets and it ended up charging me for 4 tickets, because i was in the middle of the previous transaction, but was not able to approve it before the app failed and closed on its own. I authorized buying two tickets but charged me for 4 tickets. When disputing a charge, there is no number to call, customer support said they can’t financial disputes over phone and has to be in email form. I could not wait for any response, so i filled a dispute through my bank and then of course Fandango sends them receipts for 4 tickets and the bank sided with Fandango. So now i will delete the app and i will not recommend it to anyone. The customer service is some of the worst i have experienced since DirecTV and that says a lot if I am comparing them to DirecTV, whom is known for the worst customer service. So good going Fandango! You received an extra $30+ dollars from me but have now lost hundreds of dollars in revenue from me annually. That is smart business right there.

Deleting... Loved fandango... But after what happened to me recently deleting and buying from theater sites directly.. Bought 2 tickets for uncut gems for 10:30 pm for Friday night and something came up last min.. Since i always buy from the app you get a coupon 5 discount. So i used it for my movie tickets. When i knew we couldn't make it i went to " cant make it" to get my refund fandango credit for another time i couldn't before i used my 5$ discount ... So only option was to talk to a agent... Well guess they were closed no agent available... So i couldn't reschedule or get my money back... So i woked up early Saturday morning to speak to an agent. Told them the situation and to my surprise he said he couldn't do anything because it was past the movie..im explain what happen and that i couldn't have done anything about it cayse they where offline no agents and he said he was sorry and that he was gonna forward it to corporate office.. Spend 30 dollars for nothing.. Got the email saying nothing they could do nor get me my refund... If you planning to buy tickets for late shows and life unexpected events prevent you from going to the movies.. Goodluck getting your money or fandango credit.... Buy from the theaters site instead... Ssve yourselfs the stress...

Use you local theatre’s app -refund policy. Terrible customer service and refund policy at Fandango. I recently tried to get a refund for a movie tickets I purchased at the wrong theater. However, when I tried to reach their customer support, it was an absolute nightmare. Their was no phone number to call, no email contact found anywhere. I had play an intricate game of Simon says to set up my account and chat with a customer service rep. When I finally got through to someone, they were unhelpful, and completely inflexible. Not only that, but their refund policy is unreasonable. They refused to process my request, and when I asked for a reason, they cited a lengthy list of conditions and exclusions in their terms and conditions. It's a complete rip-off and a terrible way to treat your customers. From now on, I will avoid using Fandango and urge others to do the same. Use your local theater’s app.

True review. Lol at most of these reviews. Looks like employees rating it. The app can be good as long as you link a theater rewards card with it to avoid fees. Be sure of your movie times though because if you have to cancel, you’ve just lost your money. Tried canceling in advance of the showtime and app stated to contact customer service. Well there is no phone number. 5 months later they emailed me back and stated per their policy they can not refund the money after the movie. Really?? It was your app and your huge delay in the response, not me. But alas they will not do anything for you. So buyer be absolutely certain of your purchase. As for me, I’m done. I get the same prices and rewards through the theater sites so no need for a 3rd party. Bye forever Fandango. Screw someone else over, 5 months later.

Great experience for chains, with a speed bump or three. Fandango is an interesting app, I consider it a “utility” app in that it serves a specific purpose: You want to see a movie, it offers that with the perfect context of all movies playing near you, those widely distributed and expected to be in theaters, and any “specials” theaters are running. “Convenience fees” for something that cuts out the need for human intervention are dubious at best, but interstitial ads on top of that while browsing are just… bizarre. Considering how tightly bound Fandango is to only the titans of movie theater chains, some of these feel like a dishonest cash grab. However, there is no competition, there is no comparison, and to be fair, the presentation of the app is clean, consistent, and not inundated with overly space wasting, distraction causing advertisements (aside from the very occasional interstitial ad, which still boggles my mind). I would like to see NO advertising, interstitials especially. This app exists for a very finite purpose; to allow you to buy a ticket to see a movie, the purpose is well defined and the most likely alternative (buying in person) still means money goes to the theater anyway. Wanna see a movie? Unless it’s at a boutique theater, you can’t go wrong with using Fandango to decide.

Could use overdue UI upgrade. These sort of apps are kind of mandatory these days if you wanna see a big movie opening weekend. Nowadays seatings reserved so if you wait last minute it’s slim pickings and so I appreciate the service fandango offers to have a fighting chance for those sort of things (even though their inception is part of the reason for it). But it’s ok that’s progression. However they really need to fix their user interface. It is frustrating as hell and such a waste of time to click through every single time slot when I’m just trying to find the nearest show with two seats that are open next to each other. Like how haven’t you guys had enough complaints of such a feature. And if you have updated please inform me on how to activate that feature because you really haven’t informed the user that well either. Peace...✌🏽

This is the way to go to the movies!!. Using Fandango is a very easy way to know what movies are coming to town and what movies are playing in my town/city. Fandango always keeps me informed with what is playing in my favorite movie theater(s). So, I can easily pick my movie theater(s) to see what dates & times the movies are playing. In some of my movie theater(s) I can also pick out the seat I want to sit in prior to entering the movie theater(s). Once you purchase the movie tickets, your tickets are sent to your email along with your confirmation number. Now, you have all that you need to walk into the movie theater. The decision is yours whether or not you purchase popcorn and a soda.

The only way to buy tickets. I went to the movies a while ago and a family and their kids were trying to buy tickets to any movie at the box office. They kept telling them,”that movie is sold out”, or “these seats on the front row are available” The wife asked, “how is the movie sold out when there is no one in line but us”. They told her that most of the movies tickets were sold out online. With Fandango I can buy my tickets way ahead of time, pick my seat, get a good seat, and just go to the movie. I get special offers, I get movie posters sometimes, I get discounts and points. It just makes more sense.

Customer Satisfaction = 0%. This review doesn’t even deserve a star. They will try to use marketing tactics to get you to purchase 4 tickets. And won’t even allow you to apply it to a movie that is coming soon. Really wanted to use it for Bad Boys for Life that comes out January 17, 2020. Now it looks like I’m not going to watch the movie because of that. I’ll just watch it when it gets on my cable 2 years from now. I was in a chat with a customer service agent to ask a question but then while you’re asking a question they will end the chat before you even asked the question or even let them know that you’re good. To be honest, I’m going to look for other movie booking apps now. Personally, I am not finding my experience to be serving the customer. Your platform is a service. If you’re not here to serve the customers then I will not give you my money. They’re out to get your money people. Watch out!

Terrible Customer service. Your best ordering your tickets in the theatre rather than on this app. If you make any mistake regarding your purchase they will find any way to not give you a refund/exchange even if you contact them before showtime. Also they up charge your ticket on this app only thing this app is really any good for is checking to see if seats are available but for the love of god DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. The representatives you’ll be on the phone with if you do try to get a refund/exchange will throw you from representative to representative and never actually get your issue fixed. I’ve been in contact with 3 different representatives who were actually pretty nice until I was sent to a final representative who was really sassy telling me things like “you should’ve checked your theatres policy and asked questions before purchasing” before telling me I couldn’t get a refund even though I have contacted them before showtime.

No hint about "Apple Pay promotion ended due before the promotion date due to exhausted supplies". I recieved an email from Apple Pay saying that I could get $5 off for purchasing a ticket from Fandango (offer valid till Jan. 2) and I purchased a movie ticket using my Apple Pay through Fandango app on Dec. 30, 2017. I thought the promotion would automatically apply after my purchase but have not got the $5 off since my purchase. By contacting their customer service, I got the reply that the Apple Pay promotion has ended before the promotion date due to supplies becoming exhausted. While the promotion term did state "While supplies last", I did not receive any hint from the app when I made the purchase. I feel totally unsatisfied with this purchase experience and feel like being scammed. Really bad user experience with the app and even terrible livechat customer service (which ended up closing my chat upon my complaint)! I would prefer to purchase at the cinema since I also needed to pay the convenience fee to Fandango. This was my first and last time using the Fandango app to buy movie tickets. Deleting it...

Refuses to fix their error and they charge me for it.. I ordered tickets to a movie through this app but plans changed and I couldn’t make it. They give you the option to refund your ticket for credit if you are a VIP member, which I signed up for, but they at refusing to refund my ticket. I initiated the refund well before the showtime and they told me it was being processed. THIS IS A LIE. After waiting hours for online chat support, they are telling me that it is too late to refund the ticket even though I submit my request well before the cutoff (keep in mind, this was after at least a week of my emails being ignored). As someone who has previously spent hundreds of dollars through this app, that is not acceptable. I will be deleting my account and will be buying my tickets at the theatre in person from now on because I don’t trust this company. If you are someone who prioritizes customer service and not being screwed out of your money by a highly profitable tech conglomerate, this app is not for you.

Movie app. I love the movie App other than when I made a purchase and opted to use my fandango gift card it charged my Visa card instead, Fandango would not refund my visa they’d only give me a “credit” to my account. So at that point I just saved my gift card. Even tho it was an error on their part, they refused to refund my visa so I could repurchase using my gift card. So now I’m very careful when purchasing via gift cards to make sure they do not charge my visa on file. Other than that I love this app I use it ALL the time and never have any issues other than the refund policy issue as stated above, however now that I am aware I won’t make that mistake again!

My attempt to buy a single ticket for Star Wars. I used both the website and the app in my attempt to buy a ticket for the Last Jedi. To my surprise, I even found a coupon for my ticket that took $5 off. The website successfully applied the coupon and I was feeling pretty good with myself until I found that the spot where I had filled in my billing information had disappeared, leaving only the spots for using a Fandango gift card, AMC gift card, or a promotion. I was forced to then go to the Fandango website and buy a gift card, all while my ticket hold period was running out. After buying a gift card I then applied it to my checkout page and it said it also had been successfully applied. However, when I hit the “Complete My Order” button, nothing happened. I even tried the “MasterPass” button to no avail. Once my ticket hold period had expired I ended up losing the seat next to my friends and could only find one at the very front in the nosebleed section (this is a 3D IMAX showing by the way). Pretty disappointed with this whole experience. It’s doubtful I will be using Fandango again in the foreseeable future.

Just one annoyance that could be resolved. Overall, it’s pretty good. My one problem with it is that it doesn’t remember the number of tickets I intend to purchase when I leave one specific movie selection and navigate to another. For example, I want to see movie X at a theatre with reserved seating. I select two adult tickets and proceed to seat selection. Then once I see that the seating I want isn’t available, I move to another time for that movie or another movie altogether. When I do, I have to reselect how many tickets I want to purchase. It’s a major annoyance when I’m trying to rush to get tickets for a movie that is filling up fast. On this same note, I should be able to set a preference so that it defaults to, say, two tickets because I’ve set in my profile that I want it to do so.

Getting Old and Glitchy. Use to be good. I still use it but only to be ahead of the ticket game. The whole design is looking old now. I feel like the app is in dire need of a fresh new look, fresh new interface. For the glitch, I update the app frequently (and software on my phone) but it still has a some missing components. All my favorite theaters don’t show up on the list, and before, you use to be able to scroll down past your favorites and see cinemas near by. Now, it only shows like a couple. Screen always freezes when choosing specifics such as how many people and choose seats. I don’t know, it might be me, regardless it should be able to do it all for me. Might switch to Atom tickets, my theatre nearby lets you order concessions on their app to not have to wait in line.

Understanding Reserved Seating. Understanding Reserved Seating is difficult as it needs a pop up telling you that there are no seats available at the requested time for the requested movie. Instead a customer awkwardly attempts to purchase seating when none is available and in reality a customer has to switch movie times until they see a different layout and can purchase a reserved seat for the different time. A simple pop up window saying “No reserved seating is available for this requested showing time.” Then give options to select either to exit, or select a different movie time with available reserved seating would make it so much easier for the customer to find a time where reserved seats are available. That’s why I have given the app only 3 stars. If this pop up were to show up, it would make the app more user friendly and make the purchasing process quick and easy to use.

Buyer Beware. I highly caution against buying tickets from Fandango. After using the app for 8+ years, I will never use it again. Here’s why. Today at 7:07p I went to buy tickets for my birthday tomorrow. I wanted the 6:50p showing and booked 2 tickets costing me $39 (including the steep surcharges). I quickly realized that I had accidentally booked for todays showing and tried to use the refund/exchange option in app. I got a message saying that since I booked after the movie started, I couldn’t refund or exchange through the app. I called customer service within 5 minutes of booking the tickets and was told that they couldn’t refund me because the movie had already started. I pointed out that they sold me tickets to a movie that had already started 20 minutes prior. The rep said she could see I booked the tickets after the movie had already started and said she would escalate the issue to corporate. Within 10 - 15 minutes I received what appeared to be a auto-generated email saying that because the movie had already started I couldn’t be refunded. So if you make a mistake and put in the wrong date or theater, you WILL not under any circumstances be refunded. Check out the reviews online to see how big this problem is. I wish I knew ahead of time how much their customer service had gone down the drain before I threw close to $40 away on a movie I didn’t get to see.

search function unusable. every time you try to search for a film soon to be re released or shown at a revival house you’ll instead find every instance it has appeared as a double feature in the past. there is no function to filter these double features/one time shows out and they ALWAYS overshadow the actual film you’re searching for. example, Stop Making Sense is getting a theatrical re release, and if you search the film on fandango literally ever single option that pops up is double features it has appeared in. no information on the rerelease, adding the year instead brings me a dozen films with absolutely no relevance. i’ve tried finding david lynch films on here many a time since they’re back in small theaters with some frequency, but i’m met with the EXACT SAME PROBLEM where it’s all double features of blue velvet and wild at heart or inland empire that are, like, 100x less likely to come back than any one of those three. it’s a completely and utterly useless feature to even be hoarding all of these past nights in your search function. they aren’t going to happen again, especially given that many have their own little titles for the night of the event. it’s incredibly annoying and insulting that fandango has somehow NEVER fixed this issue, never even made an effort. how about when i search for a film, you put the ones that’ll actually have showtimes coming up, not the ones that played once 6 years ago.

Not happy with this App. I used Fandango for the first time. At first I was excited to use the App because I was avoiding a huge line to purchase tickets for my family and I just minutes before the show time (20 minutes). When trying to enter the theater they told me that I had purchased tickets for the wrong location. After glancing at their app I read “easy returns.” So I decided to buy another set of tickets for the location I was already at (10 minutes before show time). I made an attempt to cancel the first set of tickets but I was on hold (through this chat option) for “6-10 minutes.” So finally when it was my turn I was told I could not get my money back because it was past show time. Took it to online support and received the same response, “exchange or refund denied.” So my advice to you is to make sure you buy your tickets ahead of time so just in case there is a mistake, it gives you enough time to cancel. They don’t care.

Frustrating but works. It seems to me that every time they update it, it gets worse. First, the option to scan your credit card instead of typing it all in has never worked. Ever. It signifies when your card is in the right position but won’t scan it once it is. It just sits there and does nothing. Second, I can not for the life of me figure out how to add tickets to my Apple Wallet. I’ve googled it. I’ve read reviews to see if someone else explained it. And I’ve read Apple Walllet’s little guide to adding passes and tickets but no luck. There was a button that said “Add” in the top right but now that it’s updated I can’t find it. I’ve spend many minutes staring at the screen looking for the option. Apple says that Fandango is a compatible app too so I’m not sure. Like I said though, after a few minutes of frustration with basic functions that less developed apps can do with ease, it’ll work and you’ll get your tickets. And that’s all that matters, right?

No Refunds OR Exchanges. I have completely lost all respect for the website! I lost out on $37 because I tried to go see Pet cemetery Thursday night, It was the night before it came out so yes the tickets were higher than usual. I went to the Marcus Movie theater in Chicago heights with my mom, boyfriend and my son whom is only 1 year old and cannot walk. They didn’t let me in because I had my son with me and the movie was rated R. Since when do movie theaters do that now ? Anyway I end up not getting in the theater to see the movie at all and having to go home. I called fandango just to see if they could give me some type of credit back or refund for the money I’ve spent. Nope not a dime, they told me there wasn’t anything they could do because the movie had already started. I couldn’t even get credit added back to my account and I have a VIP account with them. I even spoke with a manager! I guess that’s their new policy or something because I’ve never heard of that policy in the past! I’m so upset with them !

Trash. Beware I bought 3 tickets to super Mario and while the app was ok little confusing to pick seats I ended up not being able to go and tried to get ahold of them before the movie played because it does state you can’t get a refund if your movie starts I could get ahold of no one, so when I finally did of course after the move started the customer service guy very nice and escalated the problem to managers I want to say because there was nothing he could do on his end. He was super sweet. I get an email back 6 days later telling me because I got ahold of them after the movie started I couldn’t have a refund. (I only wanted a refund for one ticket btw). In my opinion I feel they do it on purpose. I tried for over an hour to get someone mind you the reason I wasn’t going because I was severely sick. This was an experience I will never have again. 1st and last time using this app.

Can’t store gift cards on app. It’s pretty stupid in my opinion that you can’t store gift cards on the app. You would think with today’s technology Fandango would be able to do this. I don’t like carrying around gift cards and I don’t always have them with me. If I want to go see a movie and want to use Fandango, I won’t if I don’t have the gift cards on me or they are not available at that time. I will just use another company to buy the tickets. Fandango should know this can happen to most anyone and to avoid lost revenue they should have the ability to store their gift cards on the app. I am in the business field and I would like to think I know a few things about generating revenue. Not everything, but enough to know that making an investment in something that makes things easier for consumers will eventually pay off.

Would leave no stars if possible. We purchased two tickets through fandango for a movie at a local theater. When we got to the theater the seats were extremely uncomfortable and not in a good view of the movie screen whatsoever. Do you theater said that if we had purchased through them they wouldn't have refunded our money but because we purchased through Fandango we had to reach out to fandango to get refunded or to exchange the tickets Fandango states that you have to ask for the refund before the movie starts but the keep you waiting online for 30+ minutes so, by the time you ask for the refund, it is too late. We Waited 40 minutes to be able to chat with somebody on Fandango. They basically said we were out of luck ( for an exchange or a refund-it would not do either). DONT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS ON HERE. GO ONLINE. ONLY 1 STAR REVIEWS THERE! Will never ever use fandango again!

Expand the Apple Watch capabilities. This is my go-to app for movie tickets and showtimes. I do like how I can see showtimes on my Apple Watch but I wish I could purchase the showtimes directly from the watch, and then after the purchase have the ticket automatically added to my wallet. My only other complaint is that I wish I could redeem gift cards without having to complete a purchase. There’s even a place for Fandango credit, why can’t I just redeem a gift card without making a purchase?? Other than these two complaints I really do like this app.

Great, except for one glitch.... For some reason when I reserve seating and attempt to use PayPal to purchase tickets, the app gets stuck on a loading page after clicking ‘complete purchase.’ After closing out of the app and repeating the process, the seats I previously attempted to buy are shown as ‘unavailable’ ; probably because the Fandango app has my transaction pending in some sort of digital purgatory... I’m forced to restart my phone completely and attempt the purchase for a third time. Finally, the app allows my transaction to be completed (3rd time’s the charm I suppose). This bug is quite annoying, and I’ve experienced it at least 3 times in the past month. Please fix whatever transaction abyss this app is creating. Thanks.

Screwed Over on Quantamania Ticket!. Exactly what the title says and similar to another user, except I tried to reschedule the ticket ahead of time, and was told by Fandango Customer service to wait for a return call that NEVER HAPPENED! When I called back to try to get a refund since they failed to call me back and made me miss the movie, I was given the run around until a help desk worker who barely understood/spoke English (who I don’t blame as unlike Fandango, she was trying to do her job and couldn’t because the previous person I talked to didn’t note to return the call on whether or not rescheduling the show time was possible) said a refund wasn’t possible even though the fault was on their end and not mine seeing as I was lied to and waited on a call back that was never going to happen and ended up missing the movie because of this B.S. company!

Very convenient but..... I enjoy using the app and also a VIP member doesn't really do much for you unless you want to cut the line to get snacks. Most of the time when there are toy giveaways with the VIP membership at the movies you have to hunt someone down to find them. The employees either seem to think that you shouldn't get one or i've had a few actually complain that their boss told him to stop giving out so many. That one I do not understand. I don't mind the convenience fee but when you're buying 10 tickets you're paying 10 times the fee be realistic please.

Makes finding and seeing movies easier. I find this app to be very helpful in terms of getting seats in advance, finding where movies are playing, what movies are playing at a specific theater, buying tickets online and being able to choose seats in advance the negative is that they charge an extra convenience fee about five dollars I think. On the other hand, I just bought movie tickets for Oppenheimer for five dollars apiece although the convenience fee was five dollars as well. Not bad though two tickets for $15.

What a feeling. This app made me feel things. Things I’ve not felt for a very very long time. I remember once when I was a child growing up in the east side of Santiago Chile where my father who farmed and fished to sustain me and my 11 brothers and sisters told me something very important. He said “son. One day you will want to take care of your family. And in order to do that you will need to be able to purchase tickets to the movies from your phone”. I didn’t know what he meant for I had neither heard of movies or a phone. Today his words finally make sense and I feel his presence in my life again. Thank you Fandango

Zero customer service. This is more for the company than the app but now I am forced to go directly to the theaters to buy tickets because Fandango will not give me a refund for an AMC ticket that I am entitled to. If I had purchased the ticket directly from AMC for a movie that had technical difficulties during they would have issued a refund on the spot. To make matters worse, this was Spider-Man the day after it premiered and we had to buy another ticket that day at another theater an hour away and had bad seats. We have purchased hundreds of dollars of tickets every year and gladly paid the convenience fee every time but now I am out $30 in addition to that and no one will answer the emails or the phone? Will be deleting the app and buying tickets another way.

Great app except for one issue. This is a great app, convenient and easy to use. But I have had issues using Apple Pay or PayPal. The app just stops responding, waited for more then 15 mins, and when you cancel and pay with a credit card you get double billed and only one ticket. Didn't realize this was happening until I was looking at my credit card bill and noticed two exact charges. Called and explained what happened and they said you just have to wait. I explained even though you charged me twice I only got one ticket. They didn't give me back my money. So I only use the app with my credit card.

They bug their app so you can’t get a refund. I used to be an abode Fandango user. This last time I used them I bought tickets but when I got to the theater (before the showtime start) I realized the seats were partially obstructed. I bought new tickets for the same theater and showing and tried to refund my original one. They wouldn’t alllow me to refund on their app. I thought, no big deal I’ll take screenshots proving I attempted to refund prior to the start time. I also emailed a refund request prior to the start time. Days later and even with the submitting my screenshots showing their website’s inability to process my refund and my date/time stamped email they refused to refund. So, if you are wondering if this company will honor their own policies - they won’t.

DO NOT USE!!!. Do not buy from fandango EVER! They are terrible, their policies are even worse. They say you can get a refund or exchange but it is a lie. Their chat is only option for assistance and they make you wait excessively… I gave up after 1 hr and 40 min with no luck. They give you an option to send an email but also has a disclaimer that nothing will be done about your email communication. My family decided to see another movie and they all easily just did a quick exchange through the theater, my dumb*** thought it was great to get $5 off coupons and used fandango for my tickets. I’m out $100 and now the 20+ group is seeing another movie at another time. We switched because we heard the Barbie movie was awful. I guess I’m going to see a terrible movie…thanks Fandango you’re an a**hole.

Great App!!. This is my favorite app to check out movie trailers, read reviews, see what’s playing at the different theaters near me, see movie times & even compare ticket prices. There are still a few theaters that don’t sell tickets on this app yet, but you can still see they movie times for that location. Most theaters even let you pick your seat after you purchase your tickets!! That’s one of the best parts for me because I love sitting in the very back & center, but I’m also almost always running late, so picking my seats ahead of time ensures I’ll still get the seats I want no matter what.

What did our parents do without Fandango?!. Oh, yeah... Movieline. I can still remember that voice..."Hello, and welcome to Movieline!" Thank you, Fandango, for putting an end to THAT nightmare!!! I love that not only can I get info on all current and upcoming show times/movies I can also buy tickets with Apple Pay, sent receipt to wallet app, and invite friends to see the movie too! The only change I would make is to extend the points ($5 off) for a longer period of time. My points are being wasted because there aren’t as many movies out these days (Pandemic Era) ….they are always expiring before I can use them again.

App Slows Down. Your app seems to have some sort of memory leak, or a rogue process that forces me to have to quit the app and relaunch it when I look at different movies. I’m on an iPhone 8, and this happens often with your app. Also, your convenience fees are too high. I’d say if you stuck below the 5$ threshold, you’d find more people using your services for movie tickets. I understand enough about economics to know that you probably tried different amounts and kept raising it until you started seeing a significant drop off, but you have to also consider customer loyalty and satisfaction. Once you know what people are willing to pay, you should work to find out what people believe to be fair to pay.

Love the app. I love using the Fandago app to buy movie tickets. It is so easy and convenient. I do not have to wait in line, I can pick my seats (with certain movie theaters), I can add the tickets to my Apple Wallet and scan the QR codes and get straight in. One time I had to cancel my tickets because we ended up wanting to go to a different theater. The cancellation process was super easy, and the credits (I chose getting credits instead of refund) available immediately for me to buy tickets at the theater we wanted to go to. I do not see myself stop using the app anytime soon.

VIP points. I realized that if you use a fandango gift card to completely cover the price of the tickets that you do not earn any vip points. I find this frustrating and a solution for this could be to choose how much money you use from the gift card. So say I have a 25$ gift card and I buy two tickets, that’s about 21$ right there. I would be fine if I only covered half of that using the gift card and the other half with my bank account, but that is impossible given the current circumstances. Please make a change to this or let me know why it is this way. Thank you. Otherwise this is a fantastic app.

I was thoroughly entertained.. I went in to the movie Ralph Breaks The Internet with a bit of worry about it being too dependent on internet references and sponsorships. But in the end all of this internet humor takes a backseat and is only present as simple world building to get you accustomed to the adventure Ralph and Venelope are going to embark on. I really enjoyed a deeper look into Venelope’s character and the advancement of Ralph’s character. The overall themes of the movie rightfully make it a Disney movie. Whereas the adventure rightfully makes this a Wreck-It Ralph sequel. I hope you enjoy it as much as My family and I did, and don’t forget to stay until after the credits!

Promos are a scam. So I download the app and login about a month ago to make my first purchase. There is a headline banner in the app saying with the purchase of two tickets to Christopher Robin you’ll received a four dollar account credit. Seems like a nice promo. So I purchased four tickets expecting an eight dollar credit. I wait and I wait and I wait. A month and a half later still no credit on my account. I contact FandangoNOW and ask where it is. They said the promotion ended on August 31 and I would not be receiving a credit. The person helping me point blank did not care. She said the promotion ended and there is nothing she can do. Conned me into spending money with you and paying the absolute highest transaction fees of any app on the Internet. Nice.

“Loading”? Liar.. When I tap “Movies” at the bottom, it immediately shows me the movies that will be coming out on the weekend, but takes a long time to show me the movies that are already at the theaters. In the meantime, it just says “Loading”, but that’s a lie. It’s actually just delaying as an advertising tactic. I don’t like being advertised to, and I even more so don’t like being lied to. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed this. This is just the first time my frustration has crossed the threshold required to get on here and express my dissatisfaction by giving you the lowest rating possible. How many other people are also dissatisfied, Fandango decision-makers, and just haven’t decided to express it yet? Many. If you have to advertise (besides also charging us when we order tickets through you) at least don’t lie about it.

Easy to Use. I’ve always had the Fandango App but i primarily downloaded it just to check what movies were showing and where at my convenience. Today was the first time i actually used it to purchase a ticket to see a movie and it was fast and easy. I’ve never had any issues with the app and i liked the payment options at checkout. I even ended up learning about their VIP program which i ended up joining. I’m looking forward to buying tickets for friends when we go see new films (since i’ll be able to rack up points) and enjoying other promos as well.

Not Working at All. Not sure what’s going on with my app but for the last TWO YEARS (I probably try to use it once every 4 months considering the pandemic) my app has never worked. I used to use it all the time to buy my tickets ahead of time but now the app has just stopped working entirely. It is never able to show me movies or cinemas and it keeps saying “something went wrong. Please try again later.” But it NEVER has been fixed. Completely frustrating and I will now be downloading AMC.

Knocked out of app when trying to get tickets. Love the idea of getting tickets in the comfort of my home at my convenience the problem is too many times now an error has occurred and I wasn’t able to get the tickets and when I went back in the seats were taken. I don’t know whether they were taken because I had reserved them and was knocked out of the system or someone else got in before me. But I find this a big glitch in the system. And also trying to use my $5 reward with all the crazy numbers and letters well that’s another issue in itself.

Worst customer service ever. This is the worst experience i had till now. We have booked two tickets for a movie for a particular theater, where it was mentioned a a drive in thing. So we were so exicited and went to the theater on the day of the show at the time mentioned. When we reached the theater was closed. There were no one there . The theater members should have dropped a message or mail telling us the theater is closed that prticular day and should have refunded our money back. But instead we got to know that the theater is closed when we went there and when we tried reaching customer service to cancel the tickets none of them responded. Till today none of them responded back to us . This was not we were expecting. I hope your team will look into this issue and respond back. Thank you

Horrible customer service. I have been using this app since 2014 and very rarely do I get any desalts. The one time I was offered a deal of $5 off, it expired without any notifications to me. I tried to do the live chat option. The website timer would go up to 15 mins then start again from zero. I waited an hour to get in contact with a representative and once FINALLY connected. I was told sorry nothing I can do. I’m very disappointed with this app and will be taking my services elsewhere. Atleast when I use Cinemark, they actually give me rewards without them expiring. Very disappointed. Waste of time.

Broken sign up/log in -stuck in loop. Inexcusable laziness in design. It consistently goes into entire app error mode if you don’t enter password correctly. So you don’t know if the password is in fact the problem. There is no prompt or link for forgotten password. You have to just keep starting completely over and reentering BOTH user name and password from scratch. Typical poorly thought out design by a bad, lazy incompetent app designer and engineer. Another example just caused me to drop from 2 to 1 stars. They won’t let you post until you give a nickname and they have method for helping you deal with and create something close when yours is taken. First attempt. Not available. Another. Nope. A different one. Nope. Try adding a 1. Nope. Try adding your birth year to the end. Nope. So lazy and ridiculous. They found another way to hinder meaningful reviews. Just don’t let anyone new to the app post one.

VENMO Weirdness. I would use VENMO if not for automatically linking ALL future purchases to it. I can revoke it, yes I can, but I think it’s ridiculous to require the user to protect their data through multiple steps after-the-fact that might not work. I don’t want my information somehow someway available/saved on websites with unknown information safety protocols. This default mechanism linking this website to my Venmo account places my data at risk for no good reason. Some people would like this feature, some don’t (me) so a user ought to have the upfront option to decide whether s/he wants the linkage or not.

Are you kidding me?. Can’t believe how frustrating and unintuitive it is to redeem gift cards. There is no way to use the phone camera. You have to manually type in each one. Then there is no way to enter multiple cards at once. When you do go through the arduous entering system for some inexplicable reason the PIN number for the last card is saved but not the last card number. Successive gift cards from a pack have the same beginning to the card number. It would be helpful if that number stayed so you could just change the ending, but no they save the PIN number that always changes, forcing you add another step of deleting the previous pin before entering the new one. Then they have the gall to charge a $10 convenience fee. Abysmal. I pray I never receive a fandango gift card ever again.

Constantly having issues recently. This app worked fine and was very convenient. For few months now, they are having all kinds of issues. On iPhone from different devices, it times out when selecting seats. From Flixster, which they bought, you fail to complete purchase using Fandango Account. Trying to pay with PayPal as Guest, let’s you select form of payment once logged in but no way to advance and complete purchase. Literally faster to drive to the movie theater to buy ticket, than go through the hassle of using this app, nowadays!

Convenient. Very easy and convenient to use. Easily search for movies current or coming soon showing times. Accurate theater maps to reserve seats when you have the option. You can add apple wallet for easy payment and add the tickets when the transaction is complete. Another awesome option is you can easily request credit on a ticket if someone cancels without having to calling customer service. The credit is there for the next time you need to buy tickets. Pretty awesome!

Favoritism in theaters. It appears that searching for show times on a movie within a 2 mile radius somehow takes me 15 miles out of my way to Downey. I don’t understand that at all. I’ve even reinstalled the app thinking that may fix their issue. But no such luck. It appears this app shows you what theaters it must have some kind of financial affiliation with and the ones they don’t they stick in there about 6/7 theaters down the list. Example: if I’m searching within 5 miles of my location, I get results for 6 locations 15 miles out then I’ll see a location 0.5 miles away then another 2/3 locations 11-12 miles away... then maybe another 2 locations up to 2-3 miles away from me. I’m deleting this crap.

App crashed / Bad customer support. I attempted multiple times to refund my tickets but the app kept crashing and the refund did not process. I originally attempted to refund before the show time per Fandango policy, but since the app crashed, it did not process. Then when I contacted the company they refused to provide refund/ credit because it was after showtime. I have reached out numerous times to resolve this and the company has been impersonal and disrespectful to my concern. I am really disappointed, I used to think Fandango was a good, easy way to book movie tickets, now I know that if something goes wrong with the app there is no way to resolve it because the company does not care about customer service. I recommend others order movie tickets through another app. Bad experience. Would not recommend.

DON’T BUY your movie TICKETS on Fandango!!!. If u buy your tickets on Fandango... and you hit traffic and are LATE to your movie. Then get ready to call it a LOSS!!! You see because movie theater won’t refund OR exchange your tickets to same movie next showing because well they didn’t get the money Fandango did! Annnd if u call Fandango you’ll just hear ‘Can’t be done because Movie has Already begun’!!! Then they’ll put you on hold to speak to their supervisor... and you’ll wait and wait and NOPE no one answers! And just like that YOU trashed money for 4 movie tickets and then forced to go to another theater and pay AGAIN to be able to see ‘Mission Impossible’ Which was GREAT btw kids and husband loved!!!! Till this day, almost a month later NO CALL back and NO REFUND or replacement movie tickets has been issued 🤬

Fantastic App! Just one minor improvement needed.... I LOVE this app!!! I love that I can buy tickets to my favorite theater without waiting in line. Since the theatre I use has reserved seating, this keeps my anxiety about getting the “best seats” at bay. So much so it’s worth me paying the small fee for tickets. Plus, every time I buy 4 tickets I get back $5.00 so that fee almost pays for itself. Even if you are going to buy tickets online from the theatre you are going to pay that service fee- at least with Fandango you get some of the money back! I even accidentally bought tickets to the wrong movie once and I was able to exchange them for the movie I wanted to see, hassle-free. My only suggestion is to please extend the 5.00 credit beyond 3 weeks. Also- getting a push notification it was about to expire would be great! I went to use my 5.00 credit and was sad to see it was gone. All in all I love this app! I’m always encouraging my friends and family members to get it and start cashing in those credits. Keep up the good work, guys!

Pretty good. I like it because it’s cool to be able to buy ahead to ensure good seats... but I was surprised when I bought three tickets and one of my friends couldn’t make it to the movie and I couldn’t return only one ticket I had to return all of them which isn’t that big of a deal, I just thought it was odd. Also, I tried contacting their customer service line but my phone locked be accident so I got pushed to the back of the line after I was only 15 seconds away from talking to someone, and when I waited again I made sure my phone didn’t lock and I was once again seconds to talking to someone, and it went back to 3 minuets and a couple of seconds... like I said not big deals just a little frustrating and odd.

Seating functionality could use an update. For theaters that require seats selection with the tickets, it’d be great to have the ability to check a different showtime and available seating without having to go all the way back to the showtime screen and start all over. Many times good seats are taken, or only the front row is left and users have to go through this time consuming process of select movie time on one screen, select number of tickets on another screen, view seating options on another. If good seats aren’t available, user has to click back 3-4 times and start the process all over.

Incredibly Slow to Update. Updating account information is slower than any app I’ve come across. Need to change a password? Expect a 30min wait, at least, before it recognizes the change. Though they have made changes to previewing seat availability, which is great, in the past I’ve tried to reserve seats been given errors in booking had to start over only to find the seats gone. Went on to buy other seats and later find the seats I wanted originally now available because of how long it took to re-release the seats into rotation caused by the errors in the app initially. Very frustrating experience. Hard to give this app more than two stars when the basic functionality is so slow to update.

High fees and horrible service. Don’t use this app. I accidentally purchased a ticket for the wrong date but was not worried because the stated policy is to allow an exchange prior to showtime. Except that something went wrong, and the app said I had to contact customer support. I waited for two hours, until after showtime, and no one got back to me until the following day. After wasting more time, they eventually said they could not issue a refund because by then it was past showtime. Even though I initiated my request well before showtime. I disputed the charge with my credit card , but I’m never using this stupid service again. The plus side is that, after this experience, I learned that I could buy tickets for my local theater directly with the Regal app, which has lower fees.

What an incredible app!. I've been a loyal user of Fandango for several years, and my experience has consistently been outstanding. Gift card payment. Please allow more than one gift card payment for a total purchase. I had a low balance gift card and wanted to use it but my total purchase was greater than. So, when I pull out another gift card. It took the full balance off my second gift card instead of using my lower balance card first. I want to use the low balance card first so I don’t have to carry around two low balance cards. Please make this change to allow more than one gift card payment. Thank you for listening!

#SOLID. Never written a review before, but this time I would like to say how great this experience has been. I have nothing but great things to say about Fandango, and next time that I watch a movie, it definitely will be bought through their entities. I have never been more satisfied than to be able to give my kids the experience to watch a movie at any time without me, having to get out of my couch to be able to get tickets and give them that experience. Therefore, and always would like to say thank you OK I

Seating. The app is simple yet could be an easier experience. You have to first select your showtime, then number of tickets needed, and then you can view the seating availability for that showtime. If you don’t like the seating that’s available, you then have to back all the way out and start over. A better experience would be if you allow the customer to view the seating that is available after selecting a showtime. Click the showtime, then the seating map pulls up. This would eliminate a step of having to select my tickets before viewing.

Failure to receive credits for an unseen movie and $5 rewards. I have been to the movies several times since I cancelled the movie Julie and I have yet to receive a refund for that cancellation when purchasing a new ticket. The refund has never been posted to my Fandango account so that I would receive an automatic reduction when paying for a new ticket. I use the Fandango app always when purchasing movie tickets because I do not like the Regal app. I pray that my next movie visit will entitle me to use my credits and rewards to purchase a new ticket. They used to appear in the checkout before completing/submitting purchase.

Forcing users to have iOS 10.0 or above to use.. Had this app for the last few years some glitches here and there but nothing major. I've used it to order tickets at least a dozen times and now they are forcing people to have the newer iOS. Instead of allowing older iOS to use the app still like everyone else they are forcing everyone to be on the new system in my opinion due to laziness and the lack of willingness to provide service to all people equally. With apple phones decreasing in power and performance after every major update I refuse to update my phone and it's not right that I paid over 1k for this phone 2 years ago and apple intentionally sabotages phones like mine simply because they want more money. Then these companies like fandango do the same catering to apple and what they want. I won't be a part of it.

Love until something goes wrong!. I have been using Fandango for a long time. I find it easy to use and have had to exchange ticket a couple of times with no trouble. This weekend I purchased four ticket to a movie and half way through the theater was evacuated for an emergency. Not a fire or a natural disaster, an “emergency”. As you can imagine in the current climate people panicked a bit which led to some pushing and shoving to get out. Rather than hang around in the large group of people in the parking lot, we left. I have been trying to get my money back ever since. The app has a chat feature where you wait your turn to tell your story. For me this took about an hour. The person working with me tried to contact the evacuated theater and because she couldn’t contact them told me to go back to the evacuated theater and talk to them! She said she would send my claim to the resolution team. Fandango then sends you a cryptic email that if you don’t respond to in five days will nullify your claim. I think I responded but have not heard back. I have deleted the Fandango app and my rating will remain one star until this is resolved. The response to visit your customer service website is absurd. I have gone through the entire customer service process with no solution.

Love It!!!!😆. I'm such a movie 🎥 geek 🤓. And the fandango app makes it really simple to see what's playing, what's coming out, and purchase my tickets all in one ☝🏾 place. I can even upload my Regal rewards card. So every-time I make a purchase the points loaded to my Regal Rewards Card. The app also shows you every movie theater near even the ones that are like 30 miles or so out, and shows you their movie listings and times. Please keep in mind that you can only purchase tickets through the application if the theater has a contract or something with fandango.

Fandango is not good. If you are not a frequent movie watcher, I don’t recommend fandango. Especially if you are into the reward aspect of the service. Their reward system is not on the same level as other services. Their rewards last 21 days vs other like that allow to be kept up to a year. I was saving a reward for a movie I really wanted to watch only to find out the reward expired just a few days before the premiere. When I contacted fandango they basically told me that there is nothing they can do. I rather them not give me a reward for using their service then to be forced to use them on a movie I don’t want to watch. So just buy straight off the theater site. It’s not worth the time to download fandango, create an account, and then get their spamming emails.

Works great unless you need customer support. I made a purchase and my tire blew out on the way to the theater. I realized 4 min after the posted show time, while still waiting on AAA, that I wasn’t going to make it. I realize they generally can’t refund the purchase after the show starts; however, I reached out immediately hoping to at least get a partial credit. I called and waited on hold for 23 min before the line dropped me. Then I tried the online chat and it left me holding for a love agent for 45 min before dropping me. I am currently on hold with their phone line for 14 min as I type this and have still not reached a single live person. I also tried email and the email directs you to chat or the phone. If I get dropped again, guess I’ll just dispute the charge. Absolutely awful service.

“Your call is very important to us...”. I’ve only attempted to use this app twice, but there will NOT be a 3rd try. I set up a call back from an operator in a time frame of 5 minutes only to wait 15 and then decided to call back... I’m tired of hearing “Your call is very important to us...” recording. This is blasphemy. More like, Give is your money-accept our overcharged convenience fee-if you have any troubles we really don’t care! Convenience, my rear end; I just wasted my entire lunch break waiting for a team member with on ounce of integrity to assist me with app issues. Onto Regal Cinemas app we go! “Who’s Coming With Me?”
