Minor bugs. I love this news source and read it multiple times a day. The past few months have been frustrating as it is nearly impossible to scroll in an article without accidentally clicking on a link in the article. There is seriously not a space to place your finger to scroll! So annoying constantly being redirected to other pages you accidentally selected. Another issue I have is with some of the repetitive information. It would be great if there was a way you could filter what you want to see on your “home” page. Meaning, if I’m sick of seeing article after article of Donald Trump nonsense, then I should be able to say “don’t show me this any more”.

New comment page. Your new comment page , which is not a place that offers any way to have an actual “conversation “,yet you still refer to as a “conversation “ is lousy at best . We can make a comment and “like or unlike and that’s it. We throw a pebble in the lake and then we never get to see any ripples or how far those ripples have gone. With that in mind ,who’s going to bother to even pick a stone up. Some might not even visit the lake ,which is not what your looking for. If you would only look at the, massive decrease in the number of comments per story that have continued to drop daily since Monday, perhaps you might recognize that you have created a big problem for yourselves and you have a lot of discontented readers who will no longer bother hitting that comment button. I’m one of those people who won’t bother any longer. If I could give you less than one star ,I would. Thank you

The truth !!. I read Huff all the time and when I’m really interested in a particular article I do more research .. you are almost constantly right I trust your articles.. and if there’s a problem in something you’ve written it’s immediatey corrected and that’s if and when !!! I loath what Fox opinion and like stations have become and only a very few on Fox have told the truth and we see what happens to most all of them they usually quit or are fired !!!!! Thank you for all you do please please keep up your great work !!!!!

Aggravating. I enjoy reading HuffPost everyday. I like the range of topics they cover. One thing that drives me crazy is if I answer a call or need to return a text while I’m on the app, I lose my place in the article I was reading and have to start over. It is so aggravating to have to restart at the top, scroll down to find the article I was reading and then scroll through the article to find my place. Lots of times I just give up and never finish the article.

Can’t do it anymore.. I consider myself a center left person and used to enjoy getting news from all sides but huffpost has become a joke with click bate stories and professional victims. I get you are left leaning but you take it too far and only cover one side of the story which is part of the reason society is so divided right now. Also any story that makes the left look bad is either completely ignored or if it is to big to ignore the story is buried or only up for a while. Everything left is not always good and everything right is not always bad. We are a representative democracy and sometime I think this site either forgets that wishes we weren’t. Journalism is in a sad state in this country and huffpost is one of the worst. Do better.

Waaaay too sensitive with iOS 13. Apple is claiming that this is an app specific problem with the new iOS, so I’m posting about it here as instructed on the Apple website. It is virtually impossible to scroll through stories on the app without the slightest touch on a hyperlink causing a new window to open, be it internal links in the article text, ads, or author credits. The density of links on the page makes it very difficult to scroll through an entire story without hitting one or two of them. This was not an issue until the latest update and I’ve been using this app for years across multiple devices. Update - I’m looking at the HuffPost boilerplate response to this problem and it references a post on the Apple help site that specifically states that it’s an app specific problem, directly contradicting the huffpost position that it can be fixed by adjusting touch sensitivity settings. In fact, the post referenced makes zero mention of changing those settings and provides no instruction on how to do so.

Check in with Huff every day. As an omnivorous news reader, i check in daily with HP to glean a different slant on the “news of the day.” Often a more human side. If i could, however, i would give HP an A- but only because some of the authors of the personal stories need to be edited better for correct grammar usage and length of article. My opinion - not necessarily anyone else’s. I know my news info is better rounded out for the day after i’ve read HP.

Left leaning. I enjoy most of the articles on HuffPost but I realize that many of the articles have a left bias. I do not solely rely on HuffPost to give me an unbiased POV but I can glean enough facts to research on my own. I’m afraid that misspellings and grammatical errors appear fairly frequently in articles. I note this and will say that I don’t understand it. Are not journalists able to use spellcheck? Is it not incumbent upon journalists that the English language be used properly? If you make your living using the written word, you should be able use it properly.

Frustrating. I want to be able to read the content, but I am unable to do so. The app is so slow due to constantly loading ads with videos that I am unable to scroll either because an ad suddenly appears beneath my fingers sending me into unwanted schlock or the whole screen freezes. I find that in recent months I just exit without reading anything. Sometimes the app is so frozen I can’t even exit and must shut down the phone completely. Please fix your app With journalism taking such a beating, a bad app should not be the thing that stands in the way of truth. At this point perhaps you just need to shut down. Oh and get rid of the Russian-MAGA bots in your comments. This section is now unreadable.

Very slanted, poorly designed. I’m a Democrat and like this organization but even to me this news source is very slanted to the left. I understand that and oftentimes look elsewhere for more non biased news. What bothers me most about the news stories presented on this app is the fact that the majority of the news articles are underlined. When I say that I mean that as you are reading an article a phrase, a name, a comment, a place is underlined. If you press on the phrase the name the comment or the place you are redirected to another page giving you more information or another news article pertaining to that particular item. As you scroll thru an article while you read it, it’s almost impossible not to click on one of these underlined areas because so much of the article is underlined. I am CONSTANTLY having to close out of the new page that opens up to get back to the original article I am trying to read. It’s a pain in the ***.

Sheer frustration. ** update 10/26 Updated app today- links don’t appear to be sensitive anymore. Thanks for the fix. Back to 5 stars unless change happens This is pretty ridiculous at this point. I understand the updates to IOS can mess with an app- but this is a completely useless app at this point. And the fact that such a large company has not fixed this is getting to the point where I’m not willing to use the app anymore. I changed my touch accommodations- adding more and more and more time to the touch duration, messing with the settings and you know what it fixed? Nothing. Literally nothing. And no other app on my phone does anything like this. Literally none. Fix the app. Honestly there just isn’t an excuse to blame the IOS and tell people to change their settings when it’s only happening to THIS app. Super disappointed. No need to copy and paste your answer to everyone else here. I don’t need your IRONICALLY unlinkable links about settings you guys keep copying and pasting. Face palm to this entire thing.

Pets and parents- love the funniest tweets.. Love HuffPost but some changes have caused some decline. I read this site several times daily so sometimes articles remain on the site a little too long, imho. I’m love the funniest pet tweets, and parent tweets, etc of the week but often they’re difficult to locate. Can they be grouped in a tab for easy access? Since the new ownership the site is inundated with ads and popups. Please consider offering for a reasonable onetime fee, as gaming apps do, the option to block them. I’m sure you would receive an overwhelming response. Thank you for your consideration of my feedback.

Buggy and Frustrating. This is the first app I open to check political news every day. But it is HuffPost that make me choose it first—NOT the performance of the app. No matter the number of updates, I have given up on having a pleasant experience with this app. It is always buggy; open an article and sit and wait for it to load, then wait again to move down the page. Be carful when scrolling, because there are so many links you will find it difficult to find a place to scroll from without being taken to another page because you touched a link. Oh yeah—those respond really fast, unlike the link to the article you wanted to read. Once you have touched that link mistakenly, you are in for a real treat—waiting and waiting and waiting for it to load so you can hit the “back” button and wait some more. More often than not, the back button is so unresponsive that it takes several times to get it to work, and since it has now caught up, it takes you back to the home page of the app, where you get to start all over! I generally end up giving up at that point and going somewhere else. Too bad, but since I really like HuffPost political news, I will stupidly try again later. Or maybe I will find another app that doesn’t frustrate me nearly every time I use it.

The calm and fury’s time. I was glued to my TV most of them are the day. (You can do that when you are retired.) I would not want is my name dragged through the mud as that! Instead of asking important questions such as “how do you feel about Row vs Wade", they are asking him questions about his trip habits and what happened 36 years ago. Who cares? And what does it matter anyway? I ended up screaming at the TV or whomever was present. I wanted to know positions and how he felt about issues. I will have to say that the Republicans won this round and Democrats looked really sad losing.

Great app. I really enjoy the Huff Post app. Great content. Unapologetically left leaning news content, plus lifestyle and specialty topics. Also, very responsive tech support. Had a problem with the app recently where I couldn’t change the font size to adjust for ease of reading. Sent email to their tech support help , they responded right away saying that it would be corrected in their next update. Sure enough, they kept my email and followed up emailing me when the update was complete and confirming that font adjustment was re-added to their settings. Definitely a daily go-to app!

Declining. Comments section is the WORST out of all the news apps I’ve used. Cannot carry on a conversation, can’t even login half the time(I login with Facebook and it still just says ‘login’ at the top), can’t follow notifications to actual replies, etc, etc. Used to work just fine. For some reason, most articles will not load and timeout, and I usually have to try 6-8 times. Again, didn’t have these problems until the last few months. I’ve even changed phones, same problem, and all of my other apps are fine. This used to be one of my go-to news apps, now it’s heading for the trash can.

Slowly turning into a clickbait app. Political affiliation aside, I like to use multiple news apps to stay informed and get a pulse on what’s happening on both sides of the aisle. However, as of late, Huffington Post has gone from credible to almost gossip columnish. Additionally, the app itself, is irritating now. You can’t scroll through a page without ghost clicking to another page (they have links positioned to where your thumbs will automatically click them when you scroll) which leaves you having to consistently scroll back and forth to get to where you originally were. This news source was better before Arianna sold it.

Articles are impossible to read .... ... after at least a year of updates HuffPo has yet to address the plethora of autolaunching links that make it impossible to scroll through an article without being whisked away to another article. It is not worth the hassle to backtrack four or five times per article just to read it even if it was great content. But with comparable content out there it is definitely a deal breaker. Bye-bye HuffPo. ETA - I just received an email from their app support team claiming that the problem is my "touch sensitivity settings" - as in the ones that are set to the iOS default and cause no problem in any other app and yet multiple reviews here complain the same HuffPo issue? Okay Karen, I'll be sure to change my "touch sensitivity settings" to accommodate your buggy app even if it messes with everything else I do on my iPhone because the problem surely couldn't be with your app. 🙄

Ya lost me. I like the app. I used to like huff post but it’s cowardly liberal trash. A wannabe voice of the people. What broke me? I just read an article about not getting involved in domestic violence. If you see a woman getting beaten by a man or even if someone is getting badly beat by a bigger mismatched opponent especially in broad daylight, get involved you cowards!!! I have permanent brain damage from this very situation. I won’t live long now. I was almost killed in front of people. And now I want vengeance. What do you do? You promote the apathetic attitude of selfish self preservation for your own self interest. You help make us a more violent nation! A hero takes risks to do the right thing. But this is who you are and this is what you have promoted. The worst thing good people can do is stand idly by when they gotta stand up. Sit down and stay down. Go “huff” chemicals. Seems about right. Or go invest in yourselves some more. It’s the only thing you really care about.

Love the content...but.... First off let me say that I love the content on HuffPost. I’m in the app multiple times a day and it’s usually the first app I open in the morning. For some reason, the newer versions of the app make links open if you just breathe on them. There are usually dozens or more links sprinkled throughout any article and I can’t scroll through an article without accidentally clicking at least 3 of them. It’s pretty annoying and I hope can be fixed. Keep bringing solid content and I’ll keep reading and sharing!

Tired of comments section being out. I usually check the news on huffpo first, to get a feel for the “big” news. It is laid-out in an easier format than most news apps. Then if there is something newsworthy, I then consult a less “dramatic” news source. It seems as if the comments section is messed-up about every week or so. For the past two days, there is an error message when clicking on comments. The best part of HuffPo are reading the comments, because commenters are often more articulate than the article authors. Get your comments section fixed please, huffpo. It’s the best part of your site.

Yup, keeps getting worse.... Used to love this app but it’s so frustrating now, I’m ready to move on. The video at the top of most stories is at best tangentially related to the story. Why is it there? The links for many of the comedy videos don’t work. What’s up with Huffpost video stories?? You still have to read the story but on top of a slideshow with music so you have to be careful opening one of these in public. They’re often about something I’d like to read but have to skip because it will be noisy. What’s the point?? And, despite asking what topics I’m interested in, the app still fills the page with gossip stories I’d rather not see. Done with it.

Great site now glitchy after iOs update. The site is always great on content (when not covering silly celebrities who’s feuding and who’s dating or pregnant). But after the latest update from Apple the screens jump around in an unstable and frustrating way where you can’t scroll down without the screen jumping to a different topic screen. Please find a fix ASAP. It’s so bad I end up abandoning my session early.

Glitchy and frustrating. I’ve used this app daily for as long as I can remember but in the last few weeks, perhaps since the iOS 13 update I’ve noticed that I can’t scroll through an article without all the hyperlinks opening from the slightest touch. It makes for a frustrating reading experience and I’ve found myself defaulting to other news apps now until it’s resolved. Update: the latest iOS 13 update seems to have resolved the issue and the hyperlinks are no longer opening at the slightest touch. Whew.

New Update For Ads Broke It. I just want to start off by saying that I had made an edit to this review saying they had fixed this and as soon as I go back into the app after emending my review and giving it 5 stars the problem came back. Here is thay review. I have been using this app as long as the app has been a thing and the latest update to make ads more intrusive has made the app straight up unusable. There have been updates that werent the best before but this has made me stop using it all together. From the fact you cant close the ads and they take up a portion of the screen the entire time your scrolling. To the fact that they make you click on articles while scrolling now when that never happened before. Usability of the app should always come before forcing ads to be shown. Always.

Definitions. I used to use the “look up” feature often while reading an article, now when I need clarification of meaning, I can no longer highlight any single words, look up, copy single words or paste single words into my MW dictionary to look it up. Now when I read the news in Huff and I don’t know the definition of a word I have to pass it up, losing understanding and context. Sometimes I look up a word that I’m familiar with already and I just want to be re-introduced to its meaning and I have not been able to do that for a long time. Strange thing though, I am only able to copy the whole article, if the protection is to discourage plagiarism and manipulation of a specific article I shouldn’t even be able to do that

Very buggy lately. This has been a favorite app of mine for years. However, over the past few weeks it takes a long time for articles to load. Scrolling is not easy. Today I had articles opening that I never clicked on. I shouldn’t have to restart my phone constantly to temporarily work the kinks out of the app. Great journalists. I’d like to continue to rely on the app. Please fix the bugs!

Good app but can’t get notifications. The app overall is generally good and I have no problems with it. Good left leaning content and articles. However, I never get any push notifications from it. Notifications are turned on in the app settings and my iPhone settings and yet I still don’t get anything. I never had this problem on my iPhone 8 but when I got my iPhone 13, that’s when the problems started. I’m hoping that this problem can be fixed soon.

Notifications Of Blindness.... ...that’s right, when Huffington huffs & puffs a post with important news in my general direction... shouldn’t it might probably just maybe actually open the app and then the article versus oh, throwing up an all white screen that even with my brightness at 50%, I am still left blinking away at an inverted image of a 5.5” rectangle now burnt into my retinas. I’ll still keep the app to read the content, but I guess I’ll have to turn off notifications if I want to stop bumping into walls after my seizure by strobe light.

Huff Post Counts!!. It’s too bad you don’t have the volume of followers that Facebook does! I actually have never been on Facebook but many of my now former friends that were and remain Trump supporters get/got their “information” from Facebook posts; and until his death from Rush Limbaugh also. I turned 18 in 1971 and immediately registered for the draft and registered to vote. I wasn’t drafted but have voted in EVERY election since. I registered and remain an Independent, but the older I get, the less likely I am to vote for a Republican. Especially during and post the Trump regime and to the overall response by them on the horrible Insurrection on January 6th that they have consistently attempted to downplay and are now trying to whitewash. Your organization, along with PBS, MSNBC, CNN, and KOS are both factual and rational alternatives to Facebook and FOX! Thank you for what you do!! Harlan Marks

Slow and buggy. This app used to work pretty well. In the past several months it’s slowed to a crawl. Scrolling through articles is difficult when you have to wait for it to cache the data, and sometimes they never fully load. I’ve found problems with both the phone and iPad app. It seems better to just go to the site on a browser. I like the content even though it’s a bit biased. The issue at this point is with performance. Whether that means they need to completely rework the app, or drop a couple ads, I don’t know, it I’m gonna stop using it if it doesn’t improve.

Buzzfeed. I’ve always loved huffington post . I’d like a little more non partisan articles, however . Even though I love buzzfeed , it seems like it’s taken over what huffington post started out as . I have 5 different news apps I read ever morning , except Fox News , because they r not a news program, And still read yours first . I seem to always agree with what u print , but would like more different views ! Don’t know if that is possible , but at least more pros and cons !

Permanently Deleted HuffPost App Today. I have been a loyal HuffPost app user for many years, and until recently used the app many times a day. It was one of my favorites. In recent months, however, the quality of the site has steadily declined with more and more “garbage” content, intrusive ads, and quirky site performance - especially ever slowing app openings, and a bright white flash at the start. When I went to open the app today, a horrible notice appeared asking me to give the app full access to all the data on both the device I am currently using, and all of my other devices. It appears to me that Cambridge Analytics might have closed down its business, and now has fully taken control over HuffPost. I immediately deleted the HuffPost app from all of my devices, and will NEVER go back to it. I hope that everyone else does the same.

Huff post. A repeating breath of fresh air in a flood of fetid, petty, self-aggrandizing sewage gushing out of our elected leaders. My fear is that we may never recover from the ongoing dismantling of decades of hard won advances in the social contract that has defined us as a people. The contrast between what Obama had finally (after a congressional blockade in his first term) been able to accomplish and the rearward rush led by an illiterate, ignorant self absorbed POTUS is almost blinding. It is a tribute to how far we have come that you can still continue to publish. Trump’s assault on the free press that has separated us from hundreds of years of world wide suppression cannot not be allowed to succeed.

Gets worse with every update for IPad. It has gotten to the point where I have to read Huffpo on my Droid phone if I want to comment. It was bad enough when it “worked” with a several second delay between hitting a keyboard key and the letter actually appearing. And woe to you if you make a mistake because you can’t insert the cursor in a spot in the middle of your text. But now I don’t have to worry about that because you can’t even log in with their new log in system. Why 2 stars? Because I like Huffpo. But this app is a nightmarish joke.

ADHD (Attention Deficit HYPERLINK Disorder). I’m using your app on the iPhone. Have been since the app came out. Never have I ever wanted to delete it until now. I’m not sure if there’s an increase in the amount of related story links in each article or if the screen sensitivity is turned up to the max setting in the app, but I can’t scroll through one article without it abruptly getting switched over to another article that was hyperlinked within it. Sometimes I can’t even scroll down to finish what I’m reading because theres constant switching to the many links in the paragraph. It’s beyond annoying.

Annoying banner ads ruin the reading experience. HP is the only news app I have that forces an annoying and recurring banner ad across the top of every article. It is ruining the reading experience. I don’t see ads like this on the apps for NYT, Wapo, CNN or AP. Please find a less obtrusive way to place ads, thanks. Edit: What happened to dark mode (white text on a black background)? As of mid-January 2023, every article now opens to black text on a bright white background. This is a dealbreaker for me. Please bring back dark mode. Thanks. Edit: Uninstalling and reinstalling, as the developer suggested, did NOT fix the banner ad issue or the glaring white background issue.

Great content and navigation. Not only does Huff Post continually provide great content across a range of topics, but I really like the suggested articles at the bottom of every article I’ve read. I typically go “down the rabbit hole” at least once for every article I select from the front page. It doesn’t matter how far I go either, I can easily back up the string to get to a different secondary article I was interested in. I have used this app for years to stay up to date on content from across the U.S.

Poor design. The content is not the issue with this application. The functionality or better said, lack of functionality is the issue. I have reported this issue several times and they keep ignoring it. If you are reading an article, and for any reason you have to click away, the application brings you back to the very front page to the main article. Unlike other applications where you can go read a text and come back to the very place you left.

Too many links makes it hard to scroll. Recently, perhaps with the latest update, I find it very hard to scroll through an article without accidentally hitting a link to another article. There are so many links that I have to stop reading and strategically determine where to place my thumb to scroll so that I can continue with the article. Please, I know you want to link to other stories but I’ve often just exited the app bc it was to annoying when new stories opened up on accident.

Too slow. I really like the news here and the opinion pieces written by ordinary people. But what is going on with the app itself. It has gotten to be THE worst for seamless reading. It stalls regularly. Takes forever to load stories and then just trying to finish a story is almost impossible. This used to be a seamless app. I don’t know happened. I have deleted and redown loaded it several times. Nothing seems to help. One more time for old times sake and then I am moving on. Why read old news that is supposed to be current news due to app bugs. SMH

Scrolling still broken; App Cache out of control. After tapping an article, it takes 3-4 seconds before the app will respond to the touchscreen, which prevents you from scrolling past the lead photo and title to get to the article. It’s a first-world problem, but it makes the app feel like it’s not made well. Also, even with “Enable Recently Viewed” turned off, the app holds over 1 GB of data in its cache with no way to clear or limit the size of the cache in the app. The only solution is to delete the app and re-install it.

Story Hyperlinks Causing Issues. I’ve read a couple other reviews and the developer responses to this issue. Being a developer myself, this is not an iOS issue. This is an issue with the app itself. And telling users to adjust something on their end to make it work better is kind of ridiculous and down right lazy. Please do some better testing and fix the story hyperlink issue that so many people are reporting. Other apps work just fine. How come HuffPo can’t seem to make it work? Either really fix the issue, or find better developers who can actually fix it.

App Store screenshots should show front page ads. I used to use screenshots and screencasts of this app in my college courses to illustrate effective use of online media apps. I don’t do this anymore because I can’t get rid of the banner ad toggled below the masthead on the front page. I assume they crunched the numbers and found that the revenue from the ad placement would outweigh the loss in app use, but count me among those who will no longer use the app because of the new front-page above-the-fold banner ads.

Broken article links. Two issues with an otherwise adequate-but-not-spectacular app. First, the broken links. Open the app, click on a headline on the first page and half of the time you’ll reach the “Oops, can’t find your article” page. Please fix this. Second, the new commenting system leaves a great deal to be desired - it’s a bit of a trolls’ paradise, since it’s nearly impossible to block and ignore known conservative and alt-right harassers. Facebook’s plug-in, while not perfect, made it easier to block and report their behavior.

Buggy slow but good info. Love the content not the app. Slow!..way way way too many touchpoints that keep taking me off the page I’m trying to scroll thru..some even take me back to the article I’m reading! I’m told that it’s a problem with the latest iOS update but I write this after the previous review from one year earlier calls out the same issues. Many of the touchpoints gave no clear reason to be there and a few don’t load. So...PLEASE Huffpost leave out the side links or put them together at the end of the articles for further reading and just allow your great info to shine over too much side stories. Great work just careless construct

Ad/Video auto play either needs to stop or have a toggle. If I wanted to watch the video accompanying the article I would click on it. Very annoying to constantly be interrupted while reading an article by a FULL SCREEN video ad for the news clip I didn’t want to watch in the first place. To the developer: there is no way to “take a picture” of your app auto playing the videos at the bottom of each of the articles. I will start reading an article and the video takes over the entire screen with a full sized ad that plays before the video I didn’t tap on to play. You videos are auto playing without prompting from the user. It’s annoyingly distracting. I want to love your app but the auto play renders the app useless.

Horrible. The app is buggy and terrible. Nothing works as it should (yes I updated and yes I tried multiple times). And while not the app specifically, HuffPo has been nothing but garbage for years, if not decades. They seem to have a different understanding of the 1st amendment, and showcase it regularly by claiming someone else said something bad, while constantly using quotations around the words “free speech” which only tells me they think free speech doesn’t exist, and then if anyone says anything they don’t like, “free speech” doesn’t exist. Don’t download the app (it rarely works properly) and, if you do, make sure you know the definitions of very common word because HuffPo has a problem understanding.

Ruined a great app. Thanks for your latest version which stops updating periodically forcing me to delete and reinstall it. Since I keep skipping enabling useless alerts and refusing to subscribe to your “plus” service I wonder if this is blatantly deliberate to force going through the process of skipping alerts and paying for “plus” as a hostage tactic to be able to use the app without doing this over and over. Keep piling on these “bugs”, keep making news updates less frequent, continue to gut and scale back your newsroom sending the best people running for the exits and see where that all gets you in the end. Arianna, I hope Verizon paid you well for the privilege of tearing down your years of great work at HuffPost and dragging your name and reputation through the mud. I sincerely hope it was worth it ***Update***...Here’s a fun thing I figured out- the reason the app won’t refresh and update is because they apparently don’t like users having a vpn! Shut that off and..... magic! Works great! Conclusion, pinheads at Verizon or whatever cute name they came up with to buy HuffPost just wants to collect all your data and spy on your surfing habits

RIP content dark mode; text jitters & ads crash!!. It’s bad enough you folks insist on inserting videos into each and every story that have NOTHING to do with article content. The mismatches are so glaring that I’m actually embarrassed for you. But this latest “update” has killed dark mode for all article content and added an infuriating jitter to the text that renders articles unreadable! Additionally, there are now so many ads trying to load in each article that more often than not they crash the app. The glaring lack of testing and debugging before you folks unleash such a deplorable cesspool of bad programming upon your users is beyond outrageous. The new main page layout is now grossly overcrowded. I am thoroughly exasperated and don’t have time for all of these hassles. More and more, I'm just skipping HuffPost in favor of other apps.

It's good but …. This is one of my favourite news apps and I always went to it at least once a day. But now, they've made it less user friendly, but changing the format for sections. You used to be able to scroll up and down to check out which section you wanted to read next, but now it's a menu to swipe left to right, and if you want a section that's all the way at the end of the list, then you must keep swiping until you get to it. No quick scrolling anymore. I wish they'd change it back so it would get my 5 star vote like it used to deserve.

Amazing. One of the greatest apps ever created

Almost 5 star only because. There is no version for Australia, at time of this review.

Annoying. The scrolling up and down is annoying to say the least. They also have an annoying habit of cramming heaps of pics in some articles. Needs more work.

Still not working even after the new upgrade. Very bad app even following the new upgrade. The app is not working- although I installed the new upgrade on Jan 9th,2018 - it opens but no news is displayed- I tried different phones and tablets but the app does not work. Please fix it or I will delete it

Broken!. Latest update broke it. The link to "App support" takes you to a web version of the HuffPost. If it really took you to AppSupt I would have left my grumble there. I'm reading it in Italian, if that's relevant... Click on the icon: it opens and dies right away. Normally an excellent app otherwise.

Awful. Retain the old app as this simply does not work. To add insult to injury no Australian content.

Was good but now crashes. The app was working fine until yesterday and it now just crashes and won't open. Have deleted and reinstalled it but still crashes. There same now happens on my iPad.

Great app. Love it. Excellent Social App integration, surprising & interesting bloggers. Only thing I'd suggest for an update is showing new stories since last launch. Re video access: the videos that are represented as blue diamonds are Flash-based & the iPhone doesn't support Flash. Drives me crazy, but it's Apple's fault, not HuffPo's.

Changed. After the last grammatical assault and giving it 1 star I've tried it again after deleting and it works fine even stays in your place on the list when you exit a story. My advise from experience is don't use the down load feature, it takes forever since they added the media content with the sections and it will end up causing freezes and delays. And doing updates after you've used the download feature, bad idea

Great info. Well written stories but the text is s small ca barely read them and no tool to increase the text size in the app

Two steps back. Constant crashes and no longer to able to view content offline or save it offline. Update wiped saved entries. Still full of annoying banner adds the take up the middle of the page in landscape. Slide shows take excessive time to load. Previous versions were far superior. Used to be the best way to read hufpo now it's the worst.

Used to be my favorite news app.... But now too many annoying ads along bottom of articles. I mean huff post I thought you were classier than flashy "win an ipad" ads. A sign of their AOL buy out no doubt!

Not as good as v1.7. This current version 1.8 is a step back. Valuable screen realestate is wasted on title and 3 buttons at bottom. How do I get the previous version back?

Ruined. What used to be my favourite news app is now so awful it's been deleted. As the previous review mentioned, returning to the home page takes you to the top each time. It used to remember where you were. And now videos are playing automatically each time I'm trying to read an article. Goodbye Huffpost. It's been a great couple of years.

What have you done?. Huff used to be the best. You changed the story detail view. Everything is now so weird. Pictures that don't slide or are sticky. Text blocks that are wider than the screen. Everything feels sloppy and silly. What do you do when you have best interface on the Internet. Let your design team keep on tinkering with until it breaks. Microsoft did it with Windows 8 and Huff has too. What shame.

A long black and the Huff Post. The Aussie morning ritual.. I heard recently that a yawn was a silent scream for coffee (especially first thing in the morning) That's true. But the Huff Post comes a close second! And that's saying something cause if you know me, you know how much I need my coffee!! So now each morning I have a double shot...Long black and the Huff Post!! Ta from an Aussie. Xx

Full screen ads 👎. Okay I can tolerate the small ads in between news articles but the full screen ads are too much. PLEASE LOOSE THE ADS!

Don't upgrade to this version.... This is the worst upgrade I have come across and wish I hadn't upgraded. Article titles no longer show and any text is too small. Designers of this should be fired for taking a great app and turning it into a unusable one... Don't upgrade your version!!!

Seems broken. Was great until today!!! App opens but when clicking on stories it crashes and closes. Pleas fix ...

No video support!. Installed this app thinking I would be able to view the videos but alas it is no different than when viewing in Safari and the videos don't play. Also no search which would be handy. Crisp and quick interface though so hopefully it will have video and search soon

Excellent. Fantastic app with great articles to read on daily basis.

Boooo. Top articles are from news stories two weeks old. Not updated enough. No search engine. Useless app.

Will be a great app when they fix it. Even though I read it every day they haven't fix the broken tweets issues. When they include them in an article you can't see them. At least not on my phone. Have sent them feedback multiple times and no response which is poor. At least Vice acknowledged their tweets issue and said they were working on it. So 3 stars until they either stop using tweets as the story content or fix them!

Best news app I've got. Smooth, sleek design and feel. Easy to use. Can favourite topics of interest. Modern look and feel. A near perfect app

Download Problem. I can't review this version of the app because it fails to download. I try the Contact link but that doesn't work. I get a silly face saying 'Cannot even'. Is that supposed to make me feel better?

Desperately Needs Dynamic Font Capably. The app is great, particularly like the general integrity of the news service and app stability. My only complaint is the font size is fixed and it’s relatively small. Some ability to modify l enlarge the font is required. Either build a native dynamic font capability within the app or leverage Apples Accessibility Dynamic Font tool. Please?

Ad banner too big & intrusive. Just upgraded to 4.1.1 and those ad banners! Taking up way too much screen real estate, and they scroll! Constantly. Can't possibly relax and read with that amount of activity going on. Uninstalled 2 minutes after download.

50% advertisements. I was enjoying this app until full screen advertisements covered every article I opened. Deleted and not installing again. I will also not be buying the advertised products.

Lame. Old stories, lots of lifestyle rubbish and couldn’t find a search engine

App won't load. The app has been stuck on the same headlines for weeks now. Updated the app and it made no difference. If I click on an article it gives me an error message. Even if I open on safari, HuffPost Australia opens by default (in spite of how many times I change my preference to US,) but as soon as I click on the US I get a message saying the server has stopped responding.

Love HuffPost. I'm an Aussie and I use the HuffPost app every morning along with Australian news sites. I also often check the HuffPost throughout the day. I am fascinated with the circus that (currently) is US politics. I say currently because, (please god!!!) make it STOP soon. Although, of course, then I'll surely miss the day-to-day hilarity provided by your drop-kick of a "president". The website is easy to navigate and overall is a pleasure to use. Thank you!!

Never updates. Takes forever to load then articles have been the same for two weeks.

Slow to update with new articles. Recently the app seems slow to update, shows me the same articles for several days in a row. As such I have uninstalled and will use the Apple News app instead.

Good content - a bit buggy. Consistently good, current content with lots of variety - shame that it keeps shutting down. Hopefully will be fixed with updates!

Crash!. Has the makings of a good app, if they fix the bugs. Way to many crashes.

Unusable since the last update on the 22nd of August. Immediately crashed after opening the app. Deeply disappointed as I can't read anymore news on the way home. Don't you guys test this first before deploying it out? Mind you, the exactly same thing happened to the iPad one as well but had been fixed since.

Used to be good. What was once a decent app for news now loads slowly and article loads are full of server errors. This needs to be fixed.

Lose bookmarks with every update. Every time there is an update the bookmarks that have been saved get lost. So very sick of it!

Ariel69. Unable to download comments for days now & no update to fix this problem. Seems also to skip back to previous paragraph as you are scrolling. Will get rid of app if this is not fixed!!

Music Loop(y). WTH is up with the music loop that has recently been added to the news app? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I liked The Huffington Post, tolerated the change to HuffPost, grumbled as the business was sold on, but this asinine music loop is quite possible the proverbial straw breaking this camel’s back. 😡

Excellent. Very good app.. The huufington post brings a nice change from the usual bias news stations, combines it with an extremely easy to use and nicely laid out app!! Nice job huffington post :)

Something to Fix. I love my HuffPost but since the latest update the most frustrating change/bug. When I read a piece and then go 'back' to the contents it doesn't go back to where I was in the list any more like it always used to, but back to the top ... over and over, and I have to scroll over and over. I hope it will be fixed because it's just about enough to switch me entirely to The Daily Beast. (I'm such a fan otherwise, pls put it back the way it was.)

Great. Well done app, easy to navigate and tweet.(Just needs a 'more stories' at the bottom)

Good content, annoying features.. I like the articles, but the current version crashes quite often and I hate the way the order of the articles on the homescreen changes as you read articles. Really annoying.

Enough with the ads. Whyyyyy with the pop up ads? I can handle the advertising that appears in the menu screens but the advertising that pops up and takes up the whole screen when reading articles is absolutely enraging. Especially when leaving the advertising makes you leave the article itself.

Good app but needs refinement. Great news coverage but app only works every other day, constantly closes as soon as you open app. Also as per other reviewers comments the Adds at the bottom of the screen are annoying please include a option to upgrade app to Add free.

Error pages. Why is the Huff constantly bringing up error pages lately when you try to open an item? I used to enjoy reading the Huff but no longer.

my favourite news app!. I love this app and I don't even live in the US... most news apps are hard to navigate and are too summarised and basic, but this app is very user friendly and I would rather read news on this app rather than on the computer as I find the huff post website a bit cluttered. I love all the different news topics and sections available and the full informative articles and slide shows... one improvement could be to incorporate user comments in a future update, thanks!

You Are NOT "Continually Improving" It. You keep breaking it. Making it more resource hungry and bloaty. Last update has made it run slow, lock, crash and burn. Prior update made navigation weird, and caused videos to spontaneously play. Revert to a few versions back, stop "improving" it. Current version quite simply locks and doesn't work. Revision 30 July 2012: I have deleted the app. Latest "improvement" won't even launch anymore. This has gone from my favorite, most used app to something I have had to remove because it no longer works. Fire your IT staff. They have ruined an app with excellent content. Huffington Post has lost a reader.

Latest version won’t open!. Latest version won’t open!

Fix your app. Many pages are not viewable due to making the page jump around when you’re trying to read them. It’s been months and I’ve holding off on saying something until now. It’s super annoying and makes some pages unreadable.

Version francophone. Bonjour J’ai mis à jour la dernière version: 4,3 mais je ne reçois que les nouvelles dans la langue anglaise,,, je les veux en français... que dois je faire? Si non disponible en français je me désabonnerai... MErci

Gesture support ?. Cannot magnify text on iPad using reverse-pinch gesture. What gives?

Hard to use. The cookie information page pops up at each news and either selection is not selectable. Using the French version on iPhone 6s +. Also too many adds. After a while it seems we are surfing commercials and not news!

Always interesting and relevant. I check HP daily for the latest news with the take on the news I appreciate

Environment and Climate Change. I’m most worried about the world ecosystems and the utter lack of real concern by most Canadian governments. When are we going to take drastic action to avoid the looming climate disasters. Certainly there is no action but only a charade by the Trudeau government and the Conservative are a total “lost cause” in that department.

Uninstalling after years of use. There are so many links in the articles, making it waaay to easy to accidentally open a link while scrolling through articles. Incredibly frustrating.

Excellent source of reliable information. My go to source for breaking news and factual reporting of current events of import to the US and the world

Trashy Click bait ads 👎🏼. Good content but absolutely horrible ad line ups. Bottom of the barrel ad choices which take up a huge % of screen space. Usually can’t wait to get out of it as a result despite fairly decent articles.

Terrible flickering add destroys my enjoyment.. I used to love this newspaper. Now I can barely stand looking at it. At the bottom of the page there is an ad for DocuSign (a great app) that flickers continuosly. It drives me crazy. I with leave the paper g or cover up the flickering ad.

Too many ads. The amount of click bait taboola ads at the end of every article has become ridiculous

Fix the app. I shouldn’t have to sign in every single day leave the person that’s signed in on there phone signed in!!!!

Never refreshes. The app has stopping updating its news. July 30th news headlines the same for three days!

Please fix this app!!. This app has become so annoying. When I am reading an article, the page starts to blink on and off madly. Nothing I can do to make it stop. I am concerned that if someone with epilepsy was viewing that, it could trigger a seizure. I am about ready to give up and delete the app.

Tell Apple to fix link sensitivity. With the latest iOS update the HuffPost app is nearly unusable. The inability to scroll without immediately opening embedded links is maddening. I understand this is an iOS issue and not an app issue. Please tell apple to fix this ASAP.

On the decline. I considered this app a good place to read stories happening in the world and at home. What happened to it? Now it just looks like a community center billboard. Lots, LOTS of ads that are distracting. There are no actual stories, just a bunch of videos that you are prompted to watch. The quality of content of the writing that is there has become terrible and uninformative. I am on the brink of deleting this app and finding my news somewhere else.

Bug ridden. So many computer glitches to the comment section that one frequently cannot post at all. And then there is their impenetrable posting policy. No doubt there needs to be rules to keep it civil but the application is arbitrary and seriously skewed to allow through all kinds of crude personal insults if the writer represents the Huff view and extraordinarily stringent if they disagree. Quite ordinary and respectable words trigger reviews if the viewpoint leans to disagreement.

Deleted from phone because of OATH. I used to use it all the time and had little problem with it and enjoyed it but now they are requesting that I approve personalized ads and cookies as part of the OATH group or get no content. It says these settings can be managed but each link takes you to multiple other links and multiple countries policies and there’s nothing simple or easy about it. It’s BS in my opinion that you cannot easily opt out of personalized content right from HuffPost so I’m out. I don’t need every company in the world dropping cookies on my phone then sharing them with every other company. If that’s the cost of huffpost content, they can keep it. Sorry huffpost, mandatory personalization is not worth it.

Last update doesn’t work well. I really like HuffPost and I have been using the app for years, but the latest update does not work well on iPhone 8. Scrolling is terrible with lots of lag and delay. I can’t really use the app in this state, please fix!

Canada’s federal taxes etc. If I could retrieve the article, I would give you 5 stars.

Opens new pages as you scroll. One of the recent updates added hyperlinking within the stories so it’s difficult to scroll and read stories without opening new pages. Driving me crazy

It’s buggy. Not a single page loads correctly but halts and usually slides over to a different page .. The number of times it has said REFRESH.. in the last hour 5 times

Nice try. Content is decent, tone is hysterical, HP seems to think publishing Twitter or Late Night TV hosts remarks is reporting news. Widget has been stuck with the same item in entertainment for weeks. Lazy, really lazy. Ready to switch to CNN permanently. Hopefully HP can wake up...

Employs racist bloggers. This isn’t journalism, these are glorified bloggers who are incredibly racist. Who accuse others of privilege while remaining ignorant of their own privilege such as being able to loudly express racist opinions about white people. I downloaded the app purely to leave this review. Absolute trash. I’ll be looking for y’all don’t you worry baby gurl ;)

Catastrophique. Version pour iPad nulle, L application qui était pas mal au début est de pire en pire , niveau contenu zéro niveau look et graphisme -5 . Ne comptez pas sur cette appli pour être informés. Inutile d'installer cette bouse.

UpdTe. Need newer material

No more news from my local region. I received the message that there is no more news from my local region on Huffington Post. So there is no more interest for me, i am uninstalling the app.

Content had really slid. As a self professed conservative, I liked to read the articles to see the other side of the issues. The Huffington posts quality has taken such a slide, it’s quite sad. Most articles now amount to nothing more blogs and opinion pieces allowing their writers to hear themselves speak...haven’t read a solidly written progressive article on there in a long time. It’s a real shame.

Fix it please!. Little annoyed that every time you scroll to read an article it ends up bringing you to another article. Too many underlines.

Hyperlinks driving me crazy. Loved this app for years. Would rate it 5 stars based on the past but it’s not even worth one lately. Since one of the recent updates, it drives me insane. It’s impossible to scroll through a story at all without hitting a link. I’ll have to close 20 windows just to read one story. Hoping for a fix real soon or I’ll be deleting after all this time.

Very clean easy to navigate. Works well for me

Why is this app here ?. HuffPost Canada was shutdown, why is the app still here in the App Store ?

The bias is sickening.. This is a pro liberal bias company who is more corrupt then the people they praise.

Inutilisable. Entre la pub qui apparaît 2 fois de suite entre chaque article et la demande de cookie qui apparaît à chaque ouverture d’article, l’application est inutilisable. Insupportable

Comfortable & informative.... HuffPost has a pleasing layout that is comfortable & informative. It presents the news quickly via short intros which can be easily reviewed and pass over or read. Enjoyable. David H

Intolerable bias that breeds negativity through fake news. Fully understand why they couldn’t stay open in Canada

Spoilers in headlines. Constantly putting spoilers in headlines for Game of Thrones. App is now deleted 🖕🏽

Fonctionnement problématique ?. Depuis 2 jours rien ne s'ouvre dans cette application???

Errors and no way to report. Within the app there is no way to give feedback, report errors or contact editors without specifically having an address linked through my iPhones Mail app (which I don’t use). These days with the functionality of online forms that send to email there is no excuse for that. It’s shortsighted and doesn’t work. I’ve been trying to read the same story for 3 days now and keep getting the same “Forbidden” error but cant report it. Trying to launch “Write a Review” (here) through the HuffPost app crashed it. I had to go to the AppStore in order to leave this review. If I am forbidden from reading your news stories what’s the point.

Garbage. Fake news at it's best. Long time ago, it was a decent and reliable source of news. Not any more. Now it is just another "main stream" cr*p producer.

Too many ads & inserted tweets. The content was fine, both varied and humorous, but far too many ads and tweets inserted into the stories. The app more or less grinds to a halt fairly quickly, even on my iPad. Too difficult to get the news when this happens.

Worst updates and updates.... —- New update —— -—— 181002 ——- This app can’t remember your User and Password, never! The sluggish UI is not for mobile phone (just see the login popup behavior!!). Support is NULL! I wrote them several times to point out some problems, never reply, never corrected. Their support mails goes obviously directly in the trash can. This is very sad when we can see the potential of a news app but. They just don’t care about users, I wonder what are the updates for?? Collecting user data?? —————

Comments. Comments won’t load yet again. I’d give it a minus if I could.. And the page jumps around, very quick flickering. Wrote support, got a response about FAQ and a promise to help. Needless to say, got nothing. Extremely disappointed.

It’s all blank. With all the lousy news lately, perhaps 5at’s for the best. Or .. maybe it’s a no news day? But that in itself would be news. So .... I don’t get it ....

Ads Pause Music. The multiple ads peppered throughout the ad always pause my music when scrolling past them. Would use the app more if it didn’t do this. Also too many video articles.

This app is garbage. At first I liked it but then I realized that every time you searched something articles would come up from 2012-2001 when it’s 2020 and the articles that come up have nothing to do with what you searched. As well there is a constant error where you search something or see a link to another article within the app and you then get the error message “oops looks like you may have gotten lost on the way to somewhere else.” As well there are also pointless stupid articles that inexplicably turn up at the top of my “Today” page and last week I checked the app and instead of info about the strike on Soleimani or the rampant Australian wildfires, the first article I saw was a pointless pile of garbage detailing Justin Trudeau’s new beard. There is also a huge lack of range of articles as there is no middle ground between the absolutely stupid articles (baby names?!?? Why does anyone care?) and the boring stuffy glitchy politics ones although at least those ones serve a purpose unlike 98% of this sad waste of time. The app also crashes and the last couple of updates have been useless. There is also no variety in terms of different positions on the same topic unlike Apple news which at least has multiple websites, journals and news companies involved. There also seems to be a glitch where when you scroll down far enough through search results you get a backlog of the same article repeated over and over again which if clicked on gives the same error message as listed above. All in all this is a terrible app that isn’t worth the memory space it takes up on your phone and certainly does not deserve any sane person’s time.

MORE ALERTS!. Five stars because I like the Canada edition of the Huff Post app .... but PLEASE start sending out more alerts (notifications) every day. Two is clearly not enough!!

Broken. Latest update won’t even open. HuffPost banner just sits there....forever. Time to delete.

You ruined your app. Your update with all of the links in the article that shuffle one to other articles???? I can no longer scroll through and read without hitting links constantly. It’s so annoying, I’m deleting your app. While you fixed the hyperlink problem, now the whole screen just goes white when swiping to a new section. It’s a bummer. I tried your app again after receiving a response from whomever it is that responds to people on here. Will be felt wrong again. Love the content, can’t do the glitches.

Huff Post. A very good source of headlines concerning relevant stories of the day. It is informational, if perhaps a bit too concise at times. It offers op/ed pieces that are in depth and, often, compelling. However, given the usual foci for their articles, I am constantly reminded of how absolutely nuts half of the people in this country actually are. It is an important message nonetheless.

The APP is not good.. Update: Nope. Every time there is an update, I download the app and try it. Again, within 20 seconds of the new download, the article flicks up and down and I cannot read past the 1/2 point. Hate the app. I’d rather use the website. I dislike how the articles are set up on the app, and for several weeks the app has had a problem with articles flickering as you scroll to read. This makes it impossible to read the entire article. The content/info in the news articles is good, and I enjoy reading the comments, so I’ll continue to read HuffPost, but through it’s online website.

Thank you.. Thank for being my voice. Thank you for standing with me and for me. But ultimately, thank you for being me. I have a news outlet that I love and respect. And this news outlet, despite current administrative restrictions, continues to honor the natural human right, as predicated by the Bill of Rights of our Nation, to speak the truth. Continue to speak the truth!

Too many links!!. I have been using the HuffPost app for years. It is my morning “go to”. The addition of several links through out an article is highly disruptive to my reading experience. I am not one to write reviews, but this annoyance must be noted. I see others have complained and I must throw my hat in the ring.

Children. Let me just say I haven’t viewed the app yet. I read reviews first. The first few I come across looks like they were written by a bunch of 12 yr olds who think they are smart because of their vocabulary skills...it shows very clearly that they are not adults. I might not be able to tell you to go to hell with a smile on my face... I’ll just tell you to go 🖕. 5 stars! Just since they are dealing with idiots

Spectacular, absurd sucker of battery power!. HuffPost App can drain my iPhone dry in just a few minutes of use. Last night for example, I went from 36% power down to 4% in probably about 2-3 minutes of use. Writing a short article comment can easily take 20% right off the top of even a fully charged battery. Upgrading does nothing to make this go away. I’ve complained about this in the past, with no response. It’s the worst power pig on my iPhone by far. Will have to stop using it…

Worst site ever. Physically takes forever to load. I know there are lots of pictures but do something to let the user know it’s responding to the numerous taps. Beyond that the how-to help is totally absent. I can’t get real news and just real news set up on my feed. No I’m not interested in Shopping, Entertainment, and related soft “news” and I’ve tapped the appropriate X’s and Pluses in the Explore section more than several times but the front page ignores my choices. I’ve deleted the app several times hoping improvements would be made. I think this time it’s for good.

No stories work with most recent update. UPDATE: all stories work now after second update this week! I did uninstall and reinstall, which worked to correct the original issue I was having. ORIGINAL: I will update my review later when all stories will load properly. However, right now after updating this morning, I can read the top story only, all others have a “AB404CD” error screen.

HuffPost Review. I’ve not before this moment paid as much attention to HuffPost as I now am doing at this 3:00AM moment. One can navigate through it as if comfortably reading one’s way from new of-the-moment or updated coverage to coverage, from story to story as if reading one’s way from page to page of an award winning national newspaper.

Why the melodramatic background music to go with the videos?. It makes you look like you’re just trying to scare people instead of deliver information. Serious music is fine, but scared is Timmy going to die intense music is kind of below the HuffPost. Yes, we are biologically wired to be scared by bad news, and that’s why our species has stayed alive, I’ve got it, I’ve got it… But, just delivering facts without mellowdramatic music is not too much to ask.

Love it -but not the links. Huff is great to keep me updated with what I want to know. However the latest App update has too many clickable links in each article. And they are too sensitive to touch and pop up openings. While reading one article I am constantly being unintentionally directed to other articles. This is becoming increasingly annoying.

Love it but just one thing.... I am a liberal democrat, and a big lgbt supporter. This apps opinions are basically that. I love this, it has the latest news on whatever subjects you are interested in, like politics, entertainment, style, queer voices, etc. But for some reason, sometimes when I’m in the middle of an article, it keeps closing in its own. At this point I can barely start an article.

The news. You are the first people I turn to for my daily news. Although I get my news from several sources you are the best formatted for a quick and easy check on the daily news. I appreciate the truth of your reporting. Thank you.

Too much tabloid crap. Tired of you diluting your solid reportage with the latest junk coming from celebrity PR flaks. You guys get on a roll with one or two or three “big names” and we get coverage on how “adorable!” the kiss is, the engagement ring is, the latest twitter exchange is. Poor Ryan Reynolds has been turned into a joke with your non-stop coverage of him, his wife, his baby. Really, it’s cloying and annoying and cheapens the effect if your first-class news coverage. And Teigen and Legend are OVEREXPOSED! Influencers, please, do they really bring in that many clicks for you? Well, keep this up and you can descend to the ranks of People magazine and similar outlets for free publicity for “celebrities.” I give your page a quick scan for the few late-breaking stories, then head to the NYT. You can be better than this, unless this is your goal. If it is, you’re losing readers like me. Sincerely, Michael Gast

Time to delete?. UPDATE 3: Still on the iPhone 13, and performance has again become sluggish, erratic and unpredictable. This could be a case study in how to ruin a great app. UPDATE 2: For a long time this has been the first app I open when I wake up in the morning. I’d read the articles while my wife was still sleeping. Unfortunately, the app now automatically plays audio ads with no prompt or warning. Since this is the only time of day I use the app, I’m not sure when I’ll be using it again. Developers, stop showing off your cluelessness! UPDATE 1: With a new iPhone 13, performance is fine. The developers should test the app more on the oldest supported phones. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This has long been one of my favorite news apps, but it is now barely usable for all the reasons mentioned in many other recent reviews. I really wish the developers would get a clue and restore this app to working condition.

Fairly good but beware of updates. The last few versions of this app have functioned adequately but in the most recent version, the comments linked to each article are not functional. It seems every time an update is installed a new issue comes up. Other than that, this app does break news fairly rapidly albeit making too many ‘stories’ out of one politician- or celebrity-derived tweet. I generally try to select for the true journalistic pieces rather than the junk articles.

Worst app from a technical standpoint. The review from four years ago by 'Primocoach' is unfortunately still true today. The Huffington Post iOS app must be among the very worst in terms of slow speed, jerky scrolling, etc. The comments sections are also often painfully slow to accept text input. The web browser version of Huffington Post has a little of these issues, but nowhere near as bad. On an iPhone, the app uses so much processing power that my iPhone Xs overheats and dims the screen. Not sure why HP has failed so badly with their iOS app for so many years.

Real Free News!. It’s great to open a news site without being blocked, asked for subscription, or told this is your last free article. Can you imagine billionaire Bloomberg charging for news!!! Tv, radio, internet and he still has the nerve to try and charge people. Don’t pay, only go to real news for free sites.

Seriously flawed. I've been a reader of the Huffington Post for a very long time but it looks like third graders are running the site. The homepage shows a thumbnail photo with a blurb for a story. Clicking the thumbnail takes you to the story with a totally random leading photo or video that has ZERO to do with the story. Today was the worst promising a story about a Florida State quarterback accused of child pornography. The leading photo is of Tom Brady and his wife. At least that's different than usual when the photo is of Trump!

Trying to see all sides. HuffPost gives me opportunities to see headlines and short looks into sometimes biased points of view. But after all isn’t everyone biased in one way or another. I use the stuff I read here snd in several other enclaves to try to balance my own thoughts and to learn how “things are going at the present time”.

News for the professional victim generation. This was once a fairly decent source of news, but has recently become a circle jerk of millennials competing for bragging rights as the most “woke” by taking anything and everything and turning it into a controversy to be emotionally distraught over. This is the news site for the worst generation ever. This generation is exactly why we continue to lose when it comes to the important issues at hand these days. They don’t want to push change, they want to be victims. Just complain, cry, and protest for brownie points, then sit home and get high on Election Day.

Not news content. First of all, I’m a Democrat. That said, I’m really craving facts in this Trumpian fake news era. I’m just so sick of reading notifications from my HuffPost app every day, attacking the moderate presidential candidates with nonsense ’news’ stories. ‘Buttigieg can’t win diverse districts’ or ‘Biden wants to work with McConnell if he becomes president” is not really what I’m looking for ina news site. I get it, you’re pushing the left wing of the Party, but right now I want to see unity from the party and news from my news sites. Stop using your resources to try to shape the primaries and stick to reporting news.

Alerts still don’t reflect read articles. For some reason the alerts section stopped reflecting that I’ve read the articles. The red dot to the left of the article remains after I’ve read the article. This started weeks ago and has not been addressed in the latest updates. Please address the bug and fix it so I can give 4 stars because of the bias against the president and republicans in general rather than report the news without the bias slant

Disappointing since IOS 13 update. While I’m avid user of HuffPost. The last few weeks have been a major disappointment after upgrading to iOS 13. The hyper links are so sensitive that while scrolling thru a story their constantly activating and taking me to the directed link causing the need to use the back button to redirect to my original article. Very frustrating and making the app almost unusable or impractical to use. I’ve been looking in the past few weeks for a HuffPost update for a fix but nothing. Hopefully an update is in the works soon.

Great app but buggy. This has been my go to app for years. Great info. However, it’s been buggy and they don’t seem to want to fix the problem. It takes a while to open. Scrolling is very jumbled. The comments section is so tiny it’s hard to read and there’s no way to adjust the size of the comments section font. Crashes quite often. Otherwise, it’s my favorite app. I just wish they would fix it.

Start My Day!. HuffPost is my first click in the morning, at intervals during the day, and if I’m awake, I’ll check in during the night. Always keeping me apprised and giving me perspective on the he latest stories and events. Thank you to the contributors who are true Journalists. Barbara

Worse since iOS 13.x. Since the release of iOS 13 the performance of this app has suffered. HyperLinks in articles, some of which contain many, open in the blink of an eye taking you away from the page. This happens even if you just touch the screen near the link. I’ve opened articles that I could not find a space far enough away from a link to actually get through the article. This is increasingly frustrating and causes me to switch to other apps for my news. Please fix this

Buggy.... just like everyone else is saying and been saying!. Look... I love my news and HuffPost but I get sooo annoyed with this app! And honestly I didn’t have to go past the first review to see other people feel exactly the same! I’m too lazy to explain it but I’m positive I’d just be redundant if I did so! All I gotta say is look at CNN’s app and learn a thing or two, please. Thanks

A news app that doesn’t show the most current news. Getting your daily news from the Huffington Post app is like reading a newspaper from the week before. It doesn’t update to show the most current news no matter how many times I refresh and what links it does display, they are broken. I gave it two stars for the random times it’s actually up to date and because I love Huffpo. It’s my go to for reading the news on my PC but they need to get their app together, it’s a mess.

HuffPost autoplays ads now??. I love the content, but recent changes to the interface are making me reconsider this as my primary news app. The overly sensitive in-text links made navigation very frustrating and now the app appears to be auto launching ads that I have to close in order to return to my content. If the auto play ads feature is not removed, there is no question I will abandon this app, even though I had enjoyed it for years before this change. Dealbreaker.

Good information. If you want news that the networks don’t talk about read this paper. I get the best news on important things happening plus science and other info about authors, etc. even personal stories are good and informative

Pics Don’t Match Articles:. In this day and age, how hard is it to make sure the pictures you post match the articles? Why am I pulling up an article to read that has nothing to do about Shakira, but Shakira is the pic pulling up for the article? I don’t want to read an article about how democracy is in peril accompanied with an image of Kelly Clarkson getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Pics should match the articles written. This disconnect has been going on for a very long time with this app. Would have been ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if it weren’t for this.

Heads up advertisers, I can’t read a blank page.. While I enjoy reading the Huffington Post, I’m frustrated by the fact that recently it’s begun opening to a blank white page when I hit the back arrow. What’s that about!? I end up having to delete the app and then reload it from the App Store. It means I spend less time reading the app and more time trying to fix the problem. Take note advertisers. If my HuffPo is a blank white page, then I’m sure not checking out your expensive ad!

Won’t multitask. Something happened in the most recent update, where the app will no longer support multitasking. Whenever you switch to another app and then switch back, it reloads everything. So, if you were in the middle of an article you have to find it again and scroll to where you where. It is very annoying, please fix.

Extremely frustrating. I loved this app for the stories you dont see in most mainstream news outlets. But thats where the love stops. After you click on any story headline and start scrolling you always touch over text that is for some reason underlined which takes you to another story. You cant get through one f’n paragraph without it heading to another page and when you try to go back you accidentally click on another underline which goes to another page. Holy hell its frustrating. so today was the last day. Im done

Articles freeze, scrolling is choppy. Articles have become very slow to load. Articles that have tweets embedded are the worst. The page freezes, finally loads but is then choppy to scroll. I usually have to quit the app and restart and try again. Sometimes it keeps trying to load the page instead of going back to the front page. Adds at the top of the page are very distracting and often won’t close. Becoming a junk app.

Used to be my “go to” app for political news. Over the years, the changes to HuffPost (in my opinion) have ruined what was an informative, quality source for political news. There are now so many pop ups and trashy ads that are totally distracting that I finally deleted the app because it’s frustrating to try to read an article with constant interruptions. Maybe I’ll try it again at some point, but I’ll be getting my fix of political news elsewhere, for now. Too bad the editors ruined a good thing!

Great—when it works. In the past several months, HuffPost has been loading slower and slower. This morning I gave up on it. Either the app is getting worse and worse, or the traffic to the HuffPost site has been getting heavier to the point where the site can no longer handle the load. Either way, the app is just about unusable now. Developers need to research this and do something.

So buggy I can’t read it anymore. With the release of the new iOS it has become nearly impossible to scroll through an article without triggering multiple links. Even looking at it funny seems to spawn linked webpages, and attempting to get through a whole article becomes a dance of “scroll down”, “close link”, “close link”, repeat. My fingertip is not usually anywhere near the link in question. I find it hard to believe it is the fault of the OS as no other apps have issues with touch sensitivity.

Scrolling in an article is worse. Normally when you scroll, after you remove your finger it keeps scrolling for a little bit so that you get the full “next page”. With the recent update, the article scrolls only the distance of your finger movement , which is about half a page, which means more finger movement and a tired finger. If the reason was to get me not to scroll past ads, i instead will just not use the app altogether. Fix your article scrolling!

Every day important. There are three things I read each and every single day. They are the Washington Post, the Detroit Free Press (state, local including sports) and the Huffington Post. I am political junkie always have been and I need my information to be current and factual. The Huffington Post and the Washington Post deliver on both counts.

Huff news. Great news and truthful... I read it every morning and several times during the day. Great personal stories also... they cover everything.. I encouraged many friends etc. to download their app..,keep up the good work reporters!!!!!!

Wide Variety of Info. This isn’t just political info. There is health info, financial info and great ideas on products for everything from cleaning your garage to international travel. And it’s efficient. The articles don’t drag on - they get to the point quickly.

One of my favorite places for staying informed.. Huff Post is one of my go to news services. And so I don’t appear partisan, i also have FOX News on my phone to audit their slant. Can’t argue/understand without hearing their side also. Even when predominantly their evening shows are ENTERTAINMENT, not news, pandering with devisive content.

I still read it but.... Been reading HuffPost since the very beginning. The days of Minneapolis Mike and Larry, Moe and Jesus to name a couple, would never happen in these days of the sensitive and easily butthurt on all sides. Even though it has turned into a daily tabloid there are a few good journalists doing some good in depth reporting. It’s no longer my first news go to. The comments are no longer enlightening and I feel dirty after indulging in the vitriol and scrolling trough troll s*#t.

Buggiest app ever. This app is so buggy and it’s such a chore to read it. When I select an article, then pick the back button to read another, it always takes me to the top of the page. Scrolling is tricky because it’s as if the app can’t handle the scroll and about half the time gives you an error screen. Please HuffPost get this fixed. Get someone to create a real app for you. I have a dozen other news apps and they all work. I know you can do it!

Please stop the links!. After years of using this app regularly, it has degraded to the point that I had no choice but to delete. As others have noted, it’s nearly impossible to scroll through a story without inadvertently launching a half dozen other stories. Each article is so riddled with links - excessively long links - that I dare you to get through an entire article without being whisked away to another story. It has nothing to do with “touch sensitivity” settings and everything to do with ad revenue for launched pages. Shameful and annoying.

Links are broken - Update. Update - Developer responded and explained the link issue is in iOS13 and sure enough it happens in other apps. I’ve adjusted my rating to reflect this. Hopefully Apple fixes the buggy mess that’s iOS 13 soon. Only one starring to get devs attention to review this bug. App for the most part is pretty good. New version links in articles is totally broken. It can’t differentiate between an intentional tap versus an unintentional one while scrolling. Meaning while trying to scroll the app will abruptly and unintentionally for the reader load the link making it very hard to read an article. It didn’t use to be like this. Please fix. It’s incredibly annoying, double so because everything is linked now and scrolling is like navigating a minefield.

The HuffPost is an enjoyable read. After I have my fill of the small fonts of The NY Times and the WaPo I regularly go to the HuffPost as a lighter read than the heavier two tomes mentioned above. I enjoy the writing, the reporting and the way the news is presented. As a progressive politically, I enjoy the slight slant on the coverage, but it IS coverage that my other digital news sources don’t cover , or if they do, I still like the HuffPosts editing. I AM a fan!
