Love it. I’ve had this app for over 3 years now and it had really helped me on my journey of writing. I’ve met some amazing people on there and have read just as amazing books. As much as I love this app, recently whenever I click on the app it shows just a blank black screen. No matter how many times I exit and reopen the app or come back a few hours later I can’t get access to the app. It’s been happening for a while and it might just be my phone acting up but my phone isn’t one to have problems like that and is a newer model that should be able to handle wattpad. I have to delete the app and then redownload it just so that I can read a bit off the app, only to keep repeating that every time I want to get on to wattpad. Wattpad used to be my main source of entertainment but now since I can’t access it properly it has slowly gone down my list of things to do on my phone. This might just be a personal problem with my phone or something but I just wanted to share it in case others relate. Overall this app is amazing and has a lovely community. Everyone is normally very funny and if you find the right community of writers and readers you will fit right in. I totally recommend people to get the app and expect to be sucked in by the sheer power of its words and community.

The App got worse over the years. I had this app for the first time back in 2014, it was the best thing. It was awesome, no adds, no payments, and no need for premium. I started reading stories that I fell in love with, they were so good that I re read them for all six years that have past. Now they are eliminating stories and author’s profiles without warning. Some of this authors actually put an effort to create the stories, and they just got erased like if they where nothing. The stories I have been reading for six years got erased, their was nothing wrong with them, actually they where awesome. The app says is doing this because they violated contend guidelines and other stupid things, I get it, but the authors didn’t even got a warning to save their stories, that is rude. Some of them actually have putted their effort for years. The age on the app says 17+, and the stories have the option to put if it has mature content . Is stupid that the author get punished for writing stories and not even getting a “flag” telling them that some content that they have is violating the guidelines. I’m an author too, and I won’t put my content (don’t care if my content does not violate their guidelines) in a app that just erases work with no warning, like if it was trash. So, sorry Wattpad, this six years where fun, until now...I pack my bags and head out to look for another place to read and put stories.

Too Many Ads. Okay, don’t get me wrong, I understand that to keep Wattpad free for the people who don’t have the money to become a premium member there’s gonna be ads, but the ads that pop up in the middle of every other chapter is VERY annoying. I have been using Wattpad for about 6 years now, it’s by far one of my favorite apps (well it used to be but i’ll get to that in a second): it’s a platform that allows me and others to express our creativity and love for writing and holds some pretty interesting reads that sometimes seem like I should be paying for them... Though at this point, I guess I am with all these ads they throw in my face any chance they get. I was surprised – to say the least – when I opened the app after an update awhile back and seen an ad on the homepage. I was fine with it, of course, because it’s not like it hindered my reading experience, but now the ads have hindered my reading experience. I literally can’t go two chapters without a freaking ad popping up and making me wait 5 seconds until I can move on to the next chapter. It’s ridiculous. Wattpad has obviously fell into the same cycle as every other app that started off ad free. Now they overdo them because all they care about is the money. I still enjoy the app, I just wish they would do something about the ads in the middle of every other chapter, at least make them few and far between. Otherwise, it’s an extremely good app that i’ve enjoyed for many years.

PLEASE FIX!!!!!. I rarely ever rate an app only ones that have impacted me in a really strong way. This app has saved me from boredom and has helped me be in a better perspective than I have been in a very long time. I have currently been on wattpad for 3 years and have enjoyed it ever since, of course, there have been some glitches and a multitude of ads yet I have never been that bothered by them, until the newest update. While getting out of school I had wanted to get on wattpad and read a few of my favorite books and I didn’t have any internet at school so I decided to go offline seeing as I could always go offline to read them and then I get the notification that I cannot read offline UNLESS I get the premium upgrade which was never in the original app (before all of the new updates), I understand that you app makers need to make money but your app was made to be FREE and to read books for FREE yet it always came down to making more money and ruining a perfectly good app. I had never thought that wattpad would go down this path and possibly never return from it but I hope that the creators of this app can change wattpad for the better and not for the worse like other apps I have encountered.

To watt-pad reader’s. I love wattpad I just got it this year me and my family went to Yemen and my sister had wattpad and I had it downloaded in my phone so I was like let me give it a try but I loved it the first book I ever read was a mafia book it’s call in love with a gangster I think I don’t remember I read a good amount of book I love enemies to lovers the only problem I have well actually i have to the first problem is that you can’t like comments🙄but it’s okay the second problem is I live in Yemen and the WiFi is soooooo slow and I have to add them to my offline list and that’s were the problem start in the offline list you can only put two books that’s what I hate and hears a little advice if you don’t want ads and have no money to pay for premium just add them to your offline list turn your WiFi off and boom no ads and it’s for free the only reason I actually wrote a review was bc my phone broke my dad won’t fix so I’m downloading wattpad on my moms phone it’s taking for ever to download but I’m willing to wait all I do is go on Pinterest all day and star at the wall I wanna go back to America okay I need to stop talking about my life y’all might not even read thin and you guys are no my therapist bye😩☹️😞😒😫😭😢

No writing app better than this! :3 😁❤️. I seriously love this app so much! It organizes your stories, and you get to import pictures for you cover and chapters. It is really easy to control, and you can pick hashtags for your book, genres, etc. In this app not only you can publish a book, but you can also find a book you want to read. About anything you search, results will pop up for it. And, the best part is, it’s free! Also, I just hope you get this app. Considering it isn’t even enough, you should definitely try it out. There may be some flaws that you don’t like, but overall this is really worth it! Maybe if you do want something else, you could try google docs. The only things that I don’t suggest doing on google docs if you were to get the app, is that you can’t keep your stories in folders, but in watt pad you can! It sorts it by stories, and it’s just so easy! By the way, I’m not just hating on google docs because it does and has some things I don’t like, I genuinely love that app too. I just like watt pad a lot, and I think you should get it. And finally, I just want to conclude that watt pad is a great app. It’s worth checking out, even if you don’t prefer it. I hope you enjoyed reading this and this review wasn't for nothing! 👌✌️❤️😁😄

Disappointed beyond belief. I have had an account with this app since 2013 but due to getting a new phone I was logged out and had to log back in. I lost access and forgot what email was used for my account and contacted support. Now I haven’t actually been on the app in a solid 5+ years because of life getting busy and me honestly forgetting about it and the book I was working on that is in the app, but got the inspiration to start it up again. And the security questions they have to “keep the account secure” are absolutely ridiculous. They expect me to remember 3 books that are in my private library when more than half of them were fan fiction that got deleted. (That and I still managed to give them a total of 6-8 stories) and to List 3 books in my drafts that aren’t published when I only had one in my draft that had partial publishment, and expect me to know the email that is associated with it when my original issue is that I forgot my email and when I ask for a password reset it says it got sent to em__@em__.com. I’ve talked to 3 “support agents” and instead of feeling like I was talking to a human I felt like I was talking to a robot just using different names. Highly disappointed in the way they handled my issues and will probably never use this app again because it makes no sense for me to restart on a new account when I cannot access my old story that was only written on that account.

To many ads. I’ve been using wattpad for almost 2 years I think and during that time so absolutely loved it. It was easy to find the books that I wanted to read or find new books a lot of recommendations and much other things too. But I notice that it started to change during the changes wattpad changed in some good ways it’s much easier to find completed stories or on going and it’s much easier to use but it sometimes has it’s issues. I understand that wattpad is a free app and for an app to remain free there would be ads so it would remain free but my issue is that there is too many ads and when I mean to manny ads as in every single chapter I read there is an ad like all the time and I don’t know if other people are having this issue but there is just so many ads that I tried to delete the app then reinstall it or refresh it but nothing works it’s just ad after ad after ad and so on so forth and it’s starting to get irritating to where I don’t wanna use wattpad anymore and just read my books somewhere else and I really don’t wanna do that since I love wattpad. This issue didn’t start until after I updated it which is weird so maybe it was the update or not but I hope you at least limit some of the ads to where they don’t appear after every chapter that you read.

It’s a good app but please fix this!. Don’t get me wrong this app is great! I love all the features, and it’s a great place to write stories and fanfics. I have been writing stories for about half a year now and I could say that if you wanna be an author this would be a great place to start. I only use this app because a friend recommended it and then I was just writing stories on my own. Can you please fix the fact that it auto saves like once every 10-20 minutes? Because when I accidentally close what I was writing I loose like half the chapter. Can it please auto save every 20-30 seconds? And also when people read my story then vote on it I can only see that they voted!!! I can’t see how many people read it!! Don’t get me wrong here, I tried re starting the app and deleting then getting it back. Of course in a few hours or days I see how many people read it, but can you fix this? I know that like it’s not a big deal, yeah it’s not, but I would like to see how many people read my story in an hour cause I can only see like 10 votes but no views. If it’s not a bug can you please tell me?? Anyways this is a great app and I love to use it!!! But please fix these 2 things! If you wish to not that’s completely fine, this is just a suggestion!

Offline and ads is a pain. I will forever love this app because this is what got me to fall in love with reading books but I can’t help but to hate the new updates. The whole offline thing was (not trying to be mean) stupid to do. The fact that I’m limited to two books for the offline mode when i have no internet is crazy. I loved when we can still read all the books we had in our library without internet. I really wish y’all can get rid of it because that’s very annoying. The ads are way too long. Some ads are 5 seconds before you can skip but most ads are like almost 2MINS LONG!!! And sometimes I feel that the ads are now popping up after every other chapter. I don’t mind ads but it’s too much after awhile especially when I’m really getting into a book. I understand you guys made a premium thing for people to get rid of the ads and have more offline books but it’s not worth the $5.99 when you can just go back to the original way y’all had it. I feel like every update y’all make is getting worst and I feel bad for saying this but I’m actually not reading off of here as much which kills me cause I really do love this app. But, if y’all keep making this an ad competition and keep the whole offline thing you might lose a reader off of this app. Hopefully y’all will read our complaints and keep it under consideration

Wattpad is Just Getting Worse and Worse. When I first joined Wattpad about 3 to 4 years ago, it was an interesting community to say the least. A small portion of the books that have been written were extraordinary, while most others have been... somewhat questionable. Even with the rather odd books in the mix, the community itself and the app was overall an enjoyable place to be sometimes. All the bonds and friendships that have been forged on Wattpad are ones I cannot forget, nor would I have had the opportunity to gain such friends without Wattpad. However, as time has past, Wattpad has become worse as a whole. It’s like as if the Wattpad community of the past was a book, and the future of Wattpad was a small flame, engulfing it entirely. The books aren’t the issue for me, as I do find it laughable and sometimes enjoyable to see what people could manage to come up with. The real issue for me, is the administration. One by one, I have seen one too many accounts fall and terminated with to unclear reasoning and unjustified manners. One too many times have I seen accounts that had years worth of work put into it vanish in an instant, only for them to make a new account explaining that Wattpad had terminated their account with false pretenses, not explaining the reasoning for their doing. It’s just isn’t right, deleting all these accounts, some of which had books that the authors clearly put their time, heart, and soul into.

It's a good app. Ok I've had this app for so long and it's really good but I noticed somethings I would change about it. So one on your message board Iy would be nice to edit a post, like if there where typos you would be able to edit it, this would be a good future to have. Another thing regarding the message board, it would be nice to clock people from commenting on your message board (such as rude comments) because having to delete them is getting tiring if there just going to keep posting rude things, so blocking them from ever saying anything rude would be good. Another thing, it would be nice to have the books labeled in your library A-Z I think it would be a good future and easy to find books, like if you didn't remember the full name but the first letter of the book you read. I also would think it would be a nice future that when privately messaging somone you could send them pictures of other things instead of just book links and etc, it's would just be a nice future to share with a friend who's only way of texting you is through Wattpad, other than that it's a wonderful app, love all the books and seeing all the authors who have potential to be an author one day or have there own movie!

Love this app, but.... This is an awesome app to read stories and fanfics, but the one thing at the moment that I don’t like is the new limit to read offline without premium. I liked how before you could read any story offline, but you couldn’t update the new chapter, but it’s better then having a limite on stories to read and sometimes get to read the story if they did update a new chapter without internet. I would like it if wattpad were to take away the limitation on offline stories, for its better that way and I can read more when I’m on a business trip or on an airplane I can read lots of stories without limitations. I have had this app for maybe 2 years and I never had a complaint, but with the limited offline stories it had caused me some troubles, also once I was in a business trip and I went to read and there was no internet connection or anything. But I had my offline books and one of them updated, though the thing was I couldn’t read it and it told me I have to have an internet connection to upload the new chapter, which irritated me cause this was supposed to be an offline story that I can read without anything and after that I couldn’t read until 2 hours later once I got internet. In a couple of day I will be traveling and some parts of the place that I’m going does not have internet connection, but I want to still be able to read, but I can’t afford premium so I’m just asking please get rid of the limited offline books they’re troublesome.

Love the app, two suggestions though. I love this app so much. I use it daily, and have written somethings on it as well. Thought, I have a few suggestions. 1) A previous book library. We’re readers can look and see what books they have previously voted on. Therefore the chance of accidentally exiting out of a book without saving it to your library and then losing it decreases. you can have this be sorted from the chapter they have voted on. If a reader has voted on multiple chapters from the same book, the book would be listed and then the chapters voted on would be under when clicked on the said book. 2) if a reader has a book in their library that will be going to premium Wattpad (The paid side), they should get a weeks, if not months notice are they going to premium. Therefore if they are not paying for premium Wattpad, they can still read the book before it going and becoming a paid story. it gives the chance for readers who have read a book and really like it to read said book. That goes for books that readers are reading at the moment and go premium, they should also get a warning therefore if they don’t wake up one day and cannot finish reading the book that they’ve been reading as it’s now paid. other than those two suggestions, I absolutely love this app, and will forever keep using it.

Excluding tags. I love this app but I have some suggestions/wishes and I really hope you’ll consider them. 1. I really wish there was a way to exclude certain tags when searching and make it so the search results exclude stories with those tags. For example, when reading fanfics there are certain pairings I don’t like but are popular for some people and a bunch show up in the search results even though I have no interest in them. Another example is when I’m searching for a specific type of story like an entertainment or transmigration setting and don’t want GL or BL and a bunch show up and it takes forever to scroll through them or when I am looking for a BL and a bunch of GL show up and vice versa. 2. I wish there wasn’t a limit to the reading lists you can make. 3. I wish there was a way to save or favorite other users reading lists. 4. I wish there was a way to save favorite tags(with no limit on how many you can save) and when a new story is published with that tag it shows up on your home page or you get a notification. And you would be able to choose what languages that have those tags show up. For example, I read Spanish and English so if there are new stories with the tags I favorite in either languages they would both show up. I really hope you’ll consider my suggestions.

Money money money. I use to love Wattpad. I got on it everyday to read for the last 5 years. Recently there have been some awful updates that makes the app a headache to deal with. I can handle the adds. I understand that’s how free apps make money. I was upset about the coin thing and having to pay to finish reading some of my favorite stories. Though I do understand why some authors would want to get paid for writing their books, so I looked past it and continued using this app because I loved it so much. But now we have to pay to read offline?! That’s outrageous!! I fear this app is all about making a profit out of everything now! It’s not about the people’s enjoyment anymore. You could get premium and have all of that go away but, you guessed it, it costs money! More and more people are dropping this app because of these awful changes being made. And I’m fed up with opening the app and seeing more things we have to pay for. What’s next? We have to pay to write our own stories? I’m lucky that I have service at my house, but some people aren’t so lucky. I’m sorry to those people, and to those who uses reading as an escape to what they’re going through. I will continue using this app because there still are some good books I would like to read, but I’m not nearly as in love with this app as I was 5 years ago.

Amazing. Just, amazing.. I’ve had this app for over two years now, and I haven’t thought to write a review until now. It has so many amazing books, some have been published as actual books, some just written for fun. You can completely enjoy it with some short adds or you can pay for premium and get no adds and a few different features. I’ve had it for so long, and sadly can’t do premium, even though it is pretty inexpensive; but it’s still an amazing experience. There are also some stories that you have to use coins for, and you can buy coins or get three a day by watching videos, and each chapter is three coins. There are so many more books that are completely free though, so paying isn’t required at all. I also love having the comments on each paragraph of the story and being able to share my thoughts and read others opinions on the books. The one and only complaint that I have is that there isn’t a feature to like a comment on a book. I’ve seen a few people who have the same problem, we don’t want to comment on something, we just want to let them know that their comment made us laugh. It’s a very small complaint though, and it doesn’t affect the experience on Wattpad. All in all, this app is great for exploring books, and writing as well. It’s very easy write and publish chapters and books on the app. It’s perfect for writers who just want to have some fun or who want to explore an interest in writing. Would 100% recommend this to all book lovers and writers.

My honest opinion about wattpad. I love wattpad, I’ve written stories, I’ve read good stories but the thing I can’t stand is wattpad moving things around, I use to be able to be able to just click on one of the bottom thing to either my library or my account but now I got to click a different button to get to my account? Why is wattpad moving things, adding/taking arm way things so often? They moved it with my library is now in the middle of my screen out of the group and it’s throwing my off every single time. Like I’m clicking on them trying to get onto my account and then I’m just like how the flip go I get on my account before I clicked a different button before I finally got on my account. I think this was new since it only appeared like that today so I’m not sure if it’s permanent but please stop doing that to us wattpad users, it annoys me at the least even if the others aren’t bothered a whole lot. I liked it how it use to be not like how it keeps changing every time I take my eyes off it for a second. Don’t get me wrong I still love wattpad, but with the changes it keeps going through annoys me and irritates me. So please stop with moving things around on wattpad, it only makes things harder to find depending on what it is we are looking for, like checking our account or something.

Lots of improvement needed. There are many things I love about this app, but I feel like there are so many things that could and should be better. For instance, the search filters. On websites like A03, you can search for particular genres, word counts, characters, and many more. The search filters feel incomplete. All wattpad has is the amount of chapters (which can be misleading because many people write short stories with many chapters but not a lot of words), when it was updated, and if it’s complete or not. It’s hard to find a particular type of story if you can’t search for things like word count. Another thing is the constant requests to buy premium. I had wattpad before they turned into a greedy money-making company, and it was so much better than the current version. There used to not be constant pop-ups to spend a ridiculous amount of money to go ad free and read a few paid stories. On top of that, they reduced the amount of stories you can read offline. If you had a book loaded previously, you could read it offline and you could do this for many books. Then they reduced that amount to three, then to two. I just wish they didn’t shove the premium ads in your face so much. The search feature is what really needs improvement, though. I want to be able to find stories of a particular type and cannot do that at the moment because of the insufficient searching filters.

Amazing app!!!. This app has everything for a reader or writers needs!! You can write all your stories, with as many chapters as you want!! You can also create your own cover for your book as well. The writing portion of the app is very simple to use. With the ability to add videos or pictures at the top of each chapter, you can give the readers a better picture of your story, and they have the tools you see on any writing software. From which side you want to write on, to italics, bold, or underlined. For the readers, there are many genres to choose from!! Fantasy, Fanfiction, etc. it your choice. you can also change the font style, color of the page and, size of the font for you various needs. You also have a personal library that no one can see except you! So you can organize your books in any way, but, when you read a book it appears at the top of your library as your recently read. You can also make reading lists on your profile for others to enjoy. If a book isn’t finished writing, the notifications for when the author updated the book, are straight forward, they tell you when they updated and what chapter they updated, so you don’t have to look or reread to make sure your not reading the same chapter twice. I love this app, and I hope if you haven’t tried it, you should!!!

I’m in love with Wattpad but there is a problem.... I love Wattpad so, so, so much and am even an author of a couple of books. I’ve been on this app for like four years now and it has made my life so much better and enjoyable. I love how in the library you can have as much books as you want and being able to comment on stories and to message authors and all the other stuff. Each update of Wattpad was better than be next. I love the most recent update because it makes everything look so organized but.... I have a concern. You see, before this update, I was able to access any book easily offline as long as it was in my library. But now, the new update only allows to have two books offline and it seems sort of unfair to me. I can still read but I don’t feel that much joy as I used to feel. To have more offline books, you have to have the premium plan and sadly, I cannot afford that as I already have to much things to take care up. With this review, I plead that you try to fix Wattpad as to get rid of only having two boos offline without premium to change so that Wattpad users are able to read any book on their library offline and to be able to see their updates. This is the concern I have to address. I hope someone sees this and is able to take my concern into consideration and fix Wattpad. For feedback from others, this pretty much is similar to what most of the Wattpad users that I know said when I asked them.

Amazing app, but one thing.... Okay, so I been on Wattpad maybe a year or so and I love it really. My stories are getting noticed, votes, reads and comments are amazing on them. There’s just one problem and I’m not sure if it’s a glitch on the app or something wrong on my end. But, I ended up asking my readers how they came upon my book and they said that it was number one on one of the tags. I was excited that my book was ranked (first book of mine that was) so I went to the tag to see if my story showed up and to my surprise it didn’t. I was confused as to why, so I made another account and did the same thing going to the tag and my story showed up. I clicked on it and say all my rankings on it. I was confused as to why none of the rankings show up when I’m on my actually account. Instead it just shows how many parts I have and nothing else after that. I’m not sure why that happens and I honestly don’t like going on another account to see my rankings when I should be able to see it on my account. I hope y’all can help with that since I’m really confused and would love to see my own rankings. Also, I would love to know if your book can show up whenever you search in that particular tag or it’ll only show on other people accounts. I hope y’all read this and help me out as soon as possible. Thank you....

Beautiful. Perfect. I love this app. Nobody in my family or friend group besides my cousin is in the same fandoms as I’m in (Percy Jackson), so it’s awesome to find people who like the same things I do! You can role play as your favorite characters if you find the right people, and write and read stories. I would recommend @_-TheOfficials-_ for Percy Jackson fans who would like to roleplay as their favorite character. Very few problems, although I would like more space for offline books. Like maybe 10 spaces. Writing is very simple, I do it on my phone with no problems. Reading is even simpler, just search what you want, and you’ll find plenty. Be careful with your email, I had problems with getting it activated so I could comment and follow and favorite things. It worked out in the end though! Just watch out for kids, 13 is the minimum age, not 17. And there’s little that parents can do about removing an account if the child is over 13 and not causing any problems. Parents, your best bet is to let your kid do his/her thing. Chances are, he/she is on here because nobody they know likes what they like. Just make sure they are not sharing personal information or anything, that’s a bad thing on ANY public site, not just Wattpad. But overall, this app is good for kids who love to read and write stories about their favorite books and movies, or anything in general.

What happened. I have been on this app for 4 years this has been my favorite app to read books. I read all different type of books on here and I love them all. But this app has become something that is a money hungry. It now gives you only 2 offline reading books and to have unlimited you have to pay for it, and I don’t appreciate that. This app use to be free period, I don’t care that you there are books on here that cost, because they are good books and deserve the recognition but if your gonna have me pay to have an unlimited supply of unlimited offline books that is insane. I want an unlimited number of books offline because o can’t always be online, and have multiple books to choose from while I’m off is so convenient for me. Now I can’t have that and if I can’t have that I won’t be even able to use the app as much. I don’t have the money to pay for all of that, even if it’s not that much so you need to fix this or don’t. But just know that I can’t use this app that often if I can only have 2 books to read offline. And there is not just me so if people stop using this app as often because of this then this app won’t be as popular. And please don’t get me wrong I love this app there such a variety of people making a different variety of books, it’s great. But you get my point.

New “Post It Note” Feature Recommended. Okay so I love Wattpad and I’ve been using this app over 2 years and I think it’s great, honestly one of my complaints that I got that has a real solution is the process of writing a new chapter. It just gives you a blank page with nothing new so I’ve thought about a way to kinda “organize” it. Whenever I’m writing something, I take in mental notes, and those mental notes sometimes go away and I forget it so I have to reread what I’ve written in order to try and remember what I’ve thought about earlier. A way to fix this issue is to add a feature where u can write small post it notes (kinda like the one Apple has as gadgets) and stick it on the page where you’re writing. This could be helpful in MANY ways, such as: remembering what POV you’re writing, reminding you to add important scenes later on, introducing a new character, jotting down ideas and thoughts that come to mind etc. This feature could honestly save many lives (including ur app) and make Wattpad more organized and clean. (Of coarse when u publish that same chapter with the notes, the notes wont be visible to the readers and only will be seen by the author when they are in edit mode) Hope u take my ideas into consideration and hope u read this review with an open mind UwU

Love it but some ad problems. I’ve been using Wattpad for years now, I love it quite a bit but there is one problem that I’m not sure has been brought up yet. Every once in a while, when trying to skip over chapters using the chapter feature, ads don’t load after several times, when I try to skip over while this is happening the chapters either go back to the one I was at previously or move to the next chapter (usually not the one I wanted to read). It gets even worse as your premium ad won’t ever close unless I close the app, I’ve had it pop up about five times, and every single time I’ve gotten it (usually after another ad that took forever to load) it’s been stuck open, as if the x button at the top doesn’t work even after 30 seconds. I’m not sure if it is a phone problem but I’m using a new phone and still it won’t close, sometimes if ads can’t load, the ad pops up for a second after I skip a chapter manually then the pop up link acts as if I had hit it. I love Wattpad but I’d rather not upgrade to premium just to fix two minor problems that I know can be fixed easily (I hope, I’m no programmer). I hope I’m not the only one facing these problems so that way you can get a better sense of what might be the issue. Thanks for reading!

Great update story!. Super creative, and very unexpected formatting but if you really think on it, writing in the storytelling format is just so... Wattpad! I do like the app, it’s a cool place to sate my werewolf/vampire thirst for rom coms. It’s also a great place for new authors. With that comes some challenges for both writers and readers. As a reader there are some stories that might have too many spelling errors, but I don’t really mind those. There are stories that might be more of a rough draft but it’s nice to see creativity in process. Probably the worst thing as reader is to fall in love with a story only to be left on a cliff hanger and never find a landing because the story is never to be finished. Oh well, there are pit falls here and there but you can’t always catch a muse when you need to. The one thing that I know is a problem for writers is that sometimes their stories get stolen which is very heartbreaking for both parties. But this is such an amazing world to share ideas and I truly love a lot of these stories. I know for a fact that some stories take a life of its own and get turned into a book- a big score for the whole community! Anyway, thank you to all creatives who created this app and all the Authors and readers for making this place such a magical place!

I use to love this app... but wth is going on:(. I genuinely loved this app. It was always fun to read cool and interesting stories that completely captivated me and had me not putting my phone down until i figured out what was going to happen next. It was always fun to find new and upcoming authors just trying to find a community to write with. Follow along with their stories and see how they grow. Everything was free to read so the possibilities were endless to find books. And there is so much more that i use to love. But as of late I don’t know what you are doing wattpad but it honestly isn’t helping it’s making things worse. Wattpad doesn’t need to be better it was a great app and an amazing place to be. But whatever the creators are trying to make it now is not working for anyone. I truly and sincerely am sad about the amount of books and fanfics that have been deleted and removed from wattpad in only a days time. Honestly my review should be lower at this point. I hope wattpad that this review tells you to STOP doing whatever you are doing. Stop trying to change the community. Leave us be! We were all fine before you came in deciding what was good for only you nobody agreed with this. PLEASE STOPPP! My review for this app USE to be a 5 stars hands down! And maybe one day if I get the old wattpad back it’ll go back to 5 stars but for now 2 and less is my rating. Don’t download this app right now until wattpad gets it together.

The update. Hello I understand that people writing books are getting them published through your company and it’s important to keep funds coming in, but what about the people (like me) who have been reading on watt pad for years now? We have to pay to buy coins now to read stories that used to be free? I thought that the point of it being free is us reading it, loving it, and sharing for other people to discover it? I thought that was the point of this app, when we rate the stories they put into a list of top 50 or so and the best ones can be discovered online by publishers. I’ve been using this app since I was twelve, I am now 18 years old and I’ve been searching for another app to read stories like this but I can’t find any. I believe you’re losing more customers by making the free subscribers pay for reading, it shouldn’t be a thing for free or premium subscribers to pay to read. These aren’t stories made by well known authors these are stories of aspiring authors who need an audience to love their books, review them, and get them out there to the world. I have decided to move on from Wattpad because I can’t afford to pay for it, your customers are more than likely mostly children and young adults who wouldn’t even think about paying to read books when there are other apps that are less desirable but FREE to read and review. I love Wattpad and I hate that this has happened and that’s why I gave a low rating.

best fan fiction app. i use wattpad to read fanfics and then never disappoint me. i have had this app for over a year now and i love it. i read a story almost every night before i go to bed. another factor i would like to mention is that it has grown my love for reading. before i had wattpad i didn’t read at all. now that i got it i have started to gain a soft spot for reading and i can read much faster. yes there are ads but only after every so chapters. Therefore, it doesn’t effect your reading time really. like it’s not right in the middle of a chapter when an ad shows up. neither are they long ads. i think the longest an ad was that i had was about 40seconds which is a nice amount to time. and if you never had wattpad before then i would like to mention that there isn’t only fanfics. there are also really cool stories with endless categories. they scare from fluff to romance(they go further than that but young people don’t need to know that). and one last cool thing about the app is that all the stories are written by random people. they aren’t written by people like Will Hobbs or Mr. O’Brien(both famous authors) but they are written by a person that barely anyone know. and if you want to you can wright a story too. i myself haven’t written one but that is only because i don’t want to wright i’m more of a reader but anyway i think you should get this app. but just be ready for some really funny people on the comments of stories lol.

No more offline readings, why?!?!?!?. I have been reading in and fan of Wattpad for 4-5 years now and I have seen them go through major changes, some changes are fine with me but the current change is just upsetting. The moment I woke up in the morning and I went to check on Wattpad for updates in my library, but only to see that now we all have to pay to read offline which was shocking and terrifying to me. I feel like I won’t be able to be able to read anymore interesting stories written or shared by others for the sake of their passion or entertainment (especially while I am going to school using underground transportation). I feel like not being able to read some of our books offline is just a nightmare!!! I understand why Wattpad did the coin system and the ads, but getting rid of the offline reading is just a nightmare! Although, I also read when I have Wi-Fi at home and school and there would be ads which I don’t mind, but now when I am offline I won’t be able to access to my favorites while traveling underground (literally no service) then what? Maybe I should quit Wattpad for a long while and just focus on school which is getting more harder and stressful. Mind you, Wattpad is my source of stress reliever and happy times (plus it was my favorite reading app out of all the others I have experienced with), but now I will just steer clear from Wattpad. Who knows? I might just be back soon or later?

curious? read this. alright, i’ve had this app since 2013 and let me start this review by saying it’s definitely not the same as the old version. the changes aren’t too bad, once you get used to the adds that pop up every so often when you’re reading a story. they can get annoying and more consistent the longer you read, but again, you get used to them after a while. if not, just pay for premium (i actually wouldn’t recommend getting premium unless you’re REALLY bothered by the adds). overall this app is great. if you want to write a story, it’s not hard trying to figure out what specific buttons you’ve got to press in order to pick your story’s cover, select tags, add a new chapter and so on. i do have to warn you though, the app is known to crash when you’re in the middle of writing a chapter and deleting all of that progress you made, so be careful with that. getting your story views isn’t that difficult either, unless you’re a new author but even then your story will eventually get viewers. wattpad’s also a great app to make friends and find mutuals too. over the years i’ve met a lot of nice people, and gotten myself more than a lot of followers. you don’t need followers though, you can simply use wattpad to read, find friends, or do your own thing. it doesn’t matter if you’re trying to find a story of a specific fandom/an original story, wattpad’s perfect to pass time. so yes, i recommend it, regardless of the few problems it has occasionally.

CRASHES. I have been an avid Wattpad user for almost 5 years now and have spent so much time on writing and reading stories and I have had to switch to other platforms recently because every time I open a story I get through about two pages before the whole app freezes and I am forced to restart the app. I also am unable to check my notifications because of this. I have over 1,500 Wattpad notifications now because every time I go to check them the app freezes once I start to scroll and I can’t check anything or respond to comments on my stories because of this. I see a lot of people mentioning the adds in their reviews, but I haven’t seen many but that’s only because of the app freezing and glitching and judging everything everyone has said it’s probably a cause of the overload of adds. When I first got on Wattpad, all the features and tools were located in a sidebar on the top left corner and the setup of the app changed a lot for the better over the years, but these last few updates have made the app very difficult to use and I almost wanted to delete the app, but I love all the friends I have made over it and all the wonderful stories I have read too much to delete the app. I have spent a lot of time building up my account and writing stories and it’s really upsetting that I can’t reply to all the comments people are leaving me, so please fix the app.

Why are there ads at the bottom of the screen?. I’m only rating it so low because of the ads on the bottom of the screen… This company DOES NOT listen to the readers and it annoying. How hard is it to just listen to the people who are on the app everyday and supporting them! I’m sure you guys have already seen the dislike on having the ads at the bottom of the screen while people are reading. I had them for a while maybe a month or so ago and then they went away and I was happy that Wattpad took in the concerns of the readers seriously but they are back again… I’m sure myself including others would appreciate if Wattpad as a company would listen to the people who go on their app everyday. We do not like the ads at the bottom of the screen, it spoils reading and it’s annoying. Personally I’m fine ads being in between each chapter. But to have them at the bottom is so obnoxious. I really don’t want to leave this app because I’ve been using it for many years. But Wattpad as a company have problems listening to the consumers and their concerns and honestly that not very good if you want people to still use your app. All I’m asking is for Wattpad to consider listening to the readers and just stick to the ads after the chapters, I’m not the only one who hates this feature. Many have express the dislike of it on Twitter and I have not since Wattpad address the concerns and it’s disappointing. Please reconsider taking away the ads at the bottom of the screen, thank you.

Wattpad: Why Change is Needed. Wattpad has been on every handheld device I’ve owned since I created an account five years ago. I can honestly say that this app was my favorite app hands down until recently. Yes, I still love and use Wattpad but I don’t spend nearly as much time reading on there as I used to. This is due to the ads and the update with premium accounts. I don’t mind ads at all as that is how apps are kept free but it seems like I get an ad after every single chapter and I’m constantly asked to go premium. With the change of the logo recently as well, I feel Wattpad is in a different place than it was when I joined 5 years ago but not in a good way. We need to move forward but not so much so that it becomes an entirely different thing. There have always been ads and I don’t expect ads to be wiped out completely but it is ridiculous how often they pop up, I also find it quite obnoxious that I am asked to go premium every single time I open the app. It is safe to say that Wattpad has become more of a money making operation than one that values its writers and readers. I don’t think it is much to ask to reduce the amount of ads a little bit and try to make the app about the people using it again. I’m still going to use this app but I have resorted to other FanFiction websites and apps as it is not nearly as enjoyable as it used to be. I do hope you can take both our opinions into consideration more directly. Thank you.

Amazing but one thing.... The people who already have this app might know my struggles. If there was a way for the books that are 'complete' to have a mark or something, so we readers know that we won't be waiting for updates when we read it. It gets very annoying, very fast when I have to check every book INDIVIDUALLY, in my library if they are complete or not. I understand that there is a filter in the search engine that allows you to see only 'complete' books, but it is (to me) useless. Especially, when you already have the books. Plus if someone, is finished with the book but don't know how to mark it as a 'completed' book, that gets REALLY annoying. Then all of the books in anyone's library start to stack up because of those main reasons. For example... I have +250 books at the moment. Not always a fun thing. So maybe writers could get notifications if they haven't updated a book in a while, asking if they are finished with the book and would like for it to be 'completed'. Of course, the user gets to decide how frequently that happens. To every week they don't update, to maybe even every year. Please hear me out Wattpad, because I know that if there any users like me out there. They would be as thankful as I would be if you helped these problems. Please.

Bad Changes. Honestly I used to love this app, it was my number one app. However, y’all have been making horrible decisions. My main issue is y’all taking down authors hard work for no reason at all. These people are great writers and y’all are removing their work for what??? Y’all have labeled this app as 17+ for use so it shouldn’t matter what stories are put out there. Many of these authors don’t have copies of their work either and y’all do not have the decency to at least move it to their drafts so they can still have their book. Yes I understand kids are going to be on the app but they are on everything they have no business being on you talking down someone’s work is not going to change anything. My second issue is those ads. They were bearable, but for y’all to now be putting them at the bottom of our stories is ridiculous. How are we supposed to get the full reading experience if we have a bright white box at the bottom of our screen showing stuff we could care less about. It is especially ridiculous when you are on dark mode and have to deal with it. This app is changing for the better bad. I wish Wattpad was how it used to be because this is incredibly ridiculous and I’m starting to realize why other apps are suggested over Wattpad. And don’t try to make us believe you need ads to fund the app as there are many other apps who don’t require add for us to use it.

One of the best apps I have.. So I've been using this app for a while now, and so far it has been an amazing experience without any significant issues. There are thousands of amazing books equipped with a great number of chapters, awe-inspiring plotlines, sequels, and more. Wattpad Premium is pretty inexpensive, and there are numerous benefits that come from paying for it. There is a wide variety of genres and tags, and you are bound to find something you like among them. I also like the fact that you can comment on either a chapter as a whole or one specific paragraph that you liked within a chapter. Sometimes the app gives you a short ad after certain chapters, but this is only on occasion and is very bearable. If you can’t stand any ads at all, then you can always choose to remove them altogether with Wattpad Premium. All I would suggest that I(among many others)would like to see added to the app would be the ability to like comments. It would be nice to be able to let a person know that we liked their commentary without necessarily having to reply to them. But this is a minor request and does not severely impact the experience of the app at all. In short, it is a terrific app and I 100% recommend to anybody who loves great stories.

An Irritating Issue. Hey Wattpad! I've been using your app for a year now, and I loved it until you removed the one thing that I needed most when using this app; the activity icon. Whenever I forgot to save a book to my library, I would go back and look at my activity to see my comment on the book and add it so I wouldn’t lose it again. It really came in handy, and I did see the post made about trying to make it safer for uncomfortable readers and authors who are afraid of being exposed with their feed. Though, I think it would be better if you let the person see THEIR feed, and nobody else’s. Now, I see how this may not be needed, but I assure you it’s important to me and many others. Just today, I forgot to save one of my favorite books to my library, though I didn’t feel the need to since I was not going to be clicking off the book, and since it just brought me back to the book whenever it was off the app. Please, I’ve been looking for the book everywhere, and I know I’ve left a lot of comments on it, MY comments which I can’t even view. I can’t even remember the name or what tags the book had, so please if this ever happens again, if I forget, I want something that will help me make sure that I can find it again. Thank you.

Update the update. IF WATTPAD IS NOT CURRENTLY ON VERSION 6.83.0 DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME READING THIS Also sorry for any typos, I have a lot to say. I would’ve given the app 5 stars. Perfect app... that is, until the update came along. Using this app was so fun. It never had any crashes or glitches. Once I got the most recent update, everything is glitchy. I can’t look at the comment conversations from my notifications without every other story not loading. Heck, even MY OWN story doesn’t load unless I actually look it up instead of going to from my profile. Also, between chapters are ALWAYS video adds. Before, every three to four chapters had one. Now it’s EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. I would not normally be TOO bothered by that, but these adds don’t even load. I have to wait forever for it to load so I can finally go to the next chapter. I also have to restart the app every 10ish minutes to stop the glitching. The stories I’m reading lose their place and I have to find where is was again. What I mean by that is that it’s like reading a book and at least once a day the book mark just randomly falls out and you have to search the book for your place. Keep in mind, the chapters took forever to load, so the time I took finding my place is equal to reading one to two decent sized chapters. Believe it or not, there’s more. If you read this far, congrats. 😂

Seriously? MAKE SURE TO READ!!!!. I’ve been using wattpad for a while now. Almost five years and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It’s kept me from going to bed when I can’t seem to put down my phone because a book is so good. It’s kept my attention pulled away from schoolwork- which could be a bad thing but also maybe a good thing? Anyways needless to say the reason I’m giving the app such a low rating is because I don’t believe in the app anymore. Sure the app is full of really great authors/ readers who are all there for the same reason. But I feel like you could do so much better elsewhere. Wattpad used to be a FREE community for authors to publish their stories for the readers to devote their time to, whereas now wattpad feels more like an elite community for people who want to pay for their stories. Come on now. You can’t expect half of the world to join wattpad premium or pay for some ridiculous coins to keep reading. I understand paying the hardworking authors on wattpad, however it’s a two way street. You either keep the writers happy and the readers upset or vice versa. I feel as though some more thought should go into these new versions of wattpad instead of keeping just one side of the street happy. Though for now, I’m telling you that it would be a better idea to keep moving. Sorry wattpad but you’ve made a lot of people unhappy with this new system. Until some compromise has been reached I feel like the original wattpad(ers) will loose interest in your app. :(

It’s my home. 🧡. I got this app just about 2 years ago. And the way I found it was, I had broken my phone, and just gotten into the mcyt fandom, I had a kindle so I used that and searched ‘dnf’ and I found Wattpad. I had no idea what it was at the time, but when I started reading it, I couldn’t stop. I stayed up all night and the rest of the next day reading that story. When it ended I was sad. I wanted to read more stories like that. After a month I got my phone fixed and went onto the web. I searched Wattpad, and found this whole website full of stories. I spent hours upon days on that website. Only to find out you can download it. So of course I downloaded it. I made a account, and got to reading. Yeah, it might just be an app with books to someone. But to me, it’s my get away, my fantasy world, my home. Now, Wattpad is my most used app on my phone. I’m on their for about 12 hours a week. (I just checked my screen time for the past 7 days.... it said 12h and 21m for Wattpad) I’ve read over hundreds of stories, and don’t plan to stop anytime soon. And the best part about the app, is that the stories are from small authors, who had this idea for a story and decided to share it. And they decided to share it with me. So I guess, if you ask me if this app is any good, I’ll say “No. It’s the best.” (That was so friggen cheezy-) Moral of the story: Get it if your bored. | I FRICKEN LOVE YOU WATTPAD! MARRY MEEEEE!!!! 🧡🧡🧡

One teensy problem.. Off the bat, the app is amazing. I’ve had it for three years. Over the years, I’ve read amazing books and some that weren’t so amazing. I met some amazing authors and a few friends I didn’t know I would meet. It was an online library and hang out that I never knew I actually needed. My friends and I have all collaborated on stories or written each other nice messages on our message board. We all got to answer and write them, except me. I since then deleted the app and haven’t re-downloaded it until a few months back to see if I would get the email to verify my account and allow me to post messages or reply to messages on my board. Nothing. I tried changing my email to see if it was wrong or going to the help page the creators so kindly offered. I checked everything, did everything the help said. Still nothing. This has been going on for two months. TWO MONTHS and still nothing. I don’t understand if it’s just me or if others have experienced this. It’s getting very annoying to the point where I might cry of frustration because of how infuriating this gets. I am sick and tired of waiting and trying and repeating a whole cycle I shouldn’t have to repeat if it was that simple to fix a posible bug. Again, I don’t know if others experienced this or if it’s just me but I’m exhausted from waiting around almost an hour to see if the email got sent or not. Please fix this or at least read this review and say something to make me feel better.

Love this app, just a little bug with the new dark mode.. So, I absolutely love this app and how great it is at letting you create your own stories while being free and open to any topic a writer wants to write. You can also read so many stories that people make and it lets people actually pay writers so they can make a living. Plus, you can find almost any genre in this app from horror to fantasy to Non-Fiction! You can also write books that are showed to certain people of different ages and has a Mature rating so little kids don’t accidentally go on inappropriate stuff. It is good for all ages and makes sure there isn’t bad stuff in a book and is overall fun to look through and to connect to people and how they write. It also helps you improve in writing and planning out stories. There’s just one small bug with the dark mode and writing. Sometimes when I write the color of the text goes back to black, and I can’t see it which makes it difficult to keep my writing flow. It of course disappears when I click out and go back in but if you could fix this it would be great! Oh, and another thing, I think it would be really cool if we could share stories and write them with other accounts. It would be easier than a google doc and it would be a lot more fun!

I am very lost. This app keeps getting worse and worse I miss the old Wattpad, why does it keep getting harder to find books? Why do we have to pay? Although I agree that authors should get money for there great writing, all I can find are books that I have to pay for.... I still LOVE this app, but I really miss the old Wattpad. Also I really really do not like the newest update, I am very lost and it is hard to get around the app. I have used this app for about 3 ish years and I remember when I first got it I thought it was very easy to get around, but now if I where to recommend this to a friend they would have to ask me LOTS of questions on how to find a book that they like. I AM NOT SAYING THAT THE BOOKS ARE BAD, it is just hard to find books from authors that don’t have hundreds of followers, and reads. I feel like this app just wants money now, there are way to many adds, almost every chapter has a add, it makes me not want to read. PLEASE MAKE CHANGES. Try to think about what READERS AND WRITERS WANT, not one or the other, stop WORRYING ABOUT MONEY. You should try to make a book and take recommendations, so that way you can find a way to fix the app a way EVERYONE WANTS, from OLD AND NEW and writers, I want this to be a app where everyone can feel free and not have any confusion. This is just my opinion btw, take it or don’t take it, but this is how I feel.

Love Wattpad but I’m disappointed. I love this app and I have been on Wattpad for many years and the fact that it was a free reading app was what attracted me but now after years I’ve been on this app and then like I go to read the story that I love then I realize that the chapters are unavailable because I have to pay for them now because apparently they have paid stories. You know that wasn’t like too much of a big deal for me but if I have been reading this book since the author came out with it and now I’m almost done with the book but then I realize that I have to pay for it, I have a problem with that but the thing that really makes me mad what happened was when Wattpad started having premium so now I have to pay to remove ads that I didn’t even have before and now I have a limit to how many books I can read offline when I used to be able to use read off-line books without having to pay for it to download it you know not everybody can afford to have Wattpad premium like who wants to pay for premium on app that was initially supposed to be 100% free in the first place. Wattpad used to be free honey I’m not going to buy a Wattpad premium account I don’t have enough money for that, the main reason I started a Wattpad account years ago was so I could read and create for free😑👎🏾

great, except.... I always look forward to going to wattpad every day to read and write. I currently have a book published and another one in the works. This app is great, except for one thing. I don’t know if it is a glitch or if it is supposed to happen, but everyone’s message board posts blow up my notifications. At first I didn’t mind it, thinking it was just a glitch and in the next few days it would be fixed and everything would go back to normal. But now, I think it’s been doing this for maybe a month (I actually don’t really know). All the message board notifications have been preventing me from seeing comments and votes on my actual story and updates from my favorite stories. This really bothers me. I put a new story out about three weeks ago, and it has a very low number of votes and comments compared to my other story. I honestly don’t know if it is all the message board notifications or if everybody is less active because school has started again. Even I have ignored all of my notifications some days because I didn’t want to go through the thousands of notifications just from people posting on their own message boards. So I’m wondering if other people are doing the same as me and ignoring it overall, leading them to not reading and commenting as they used to... I’m definitely not saying I’m thirsty for votes, but this even prevents me from reading. Thank you for reading, I hope it made sense...!

CRASHES AND FREEZING. Before a few months ago I was always an avid Wattpad reader, for years. I had very few complaints, I also didn’t even mind the occasional ads that popped up and by showing the occasional video it wasn’t too bothersome. I loved the app and would give it a 5/5 any day. However, I ended up taking took a few months off and it was definitely a disappointment when I came back. Not only was I bombarded with ads the app, both on the iPhone and Mac, freeze within the first couple of minutes of me going into the app. Most of my books don’t load, and when I delete a book it never deletes it just stays there. Im not sure what happened in between the time I took off and now but it’s frustrating. As stated I understand the importance of ads but having them constantly pop up or show up every other click is a major annoyance to the point of me debating on whether I even want to keep the app. Because of the freezing and crashing to me the app is almost useless but I’m still hoping for an update that fixes that. The 70+ books I’ve downloaded also is the thing preventing me from getting rid of it. I really loved the app before all of this. I’ve also heard that you now require internet to read books or archive them? Not too entirely sure as stated I haven’t really been updated on anything because all I see are ads and then the app crashes but I hope this app gets the upgrade it deserves.

Changed My Life... However.... Wattpad is honestly one of my favorite (if not my #1 favorite) apps out there. I write and read nearly everyday and it has honestly changed my life. However... I've noticed in the past month a glitch. A couple of my stories have this glitch where when I press "preview" it says "this page got lost in a good story and never came back". The first time it bothered me and then I updated Wattpad and the problem was fixed. But then today I noticed that it happened again to now two of my stories. I can't get rid of it which disrupts me from reading my drafts in order to catch any mistakes I made etc. I'm not sure what's going on but I hope it can be fixed in the next update. Other than that Wattpad is absolutely amazing. While the whole paying for some stories kinda bugged me I do understand that there are writers who would like to pursue their dreams and get paid. Though, another issue that kinda bugs me is the whole offline reading thing and how you have to have premium to read more than two stories offline. I honestly think two stories is a little unfair but that's only my opinion. Okay, that's all. I just hoped this bug can be addressed. Again, Wattpad is honestly amazing in so many ways and I hope it continues to get better.

Love it! Only one problem. I’ve had this app coming up two years, and it has definitely grown my love for reading. This is the first app I open when I wake up and the last one I open before I go to bed. I’ve probably read over 100 books, and I have over 12 in my library. Wattpad is probably my favorite app I have on my phone. However, I do find one thing troubling. As most people who have the app are aware of, if you do not save a book to your library, once you exit it out of it it is most likely lost forever. Now, I know this is probably not a big problem for people who know the title and other things about the book, but for people who sometimes choose a book just based on the description and do not look at the title (me), this poses an issue sometimes. I was reading a wonderful book a couple days ago, and I had gotten about 30 chapters in. I guess I had gotten so absorbed in the story that I had forgotten to save it to my library. Well, my family and I had traveled into the country, so we had no internet. When I opened up the app, a notification popped up that i needed WiFi to continue reading. I pressed dismiss. Long story short, it exited out of the book, and I can’t find it. I think it would be really helpful to have an option to look at a recently opened or recently looked at page where books that you had previously read but hadn’t been saved could be seen. This would be EXTREMELY helpful! Other than that, LOVE the app!

New update problem. I really love this app and I’ve been using it for a couple of years but the new update where your stories are separated into offline and online sections aren’t very preferred for me as I’m a none membership person who can only put one story in the offline section, it honestly annoys me that I have to read a story that might not even be completed than either delete it and re-add it to the offline section after another update or simply wait till it updates, in my preference I would’ve preferred to keep the old system where you have to refresh it and wait for your stories to be downloaded properly onto your library because I could read more stories offline without having to switch back and forth after a while, overall I hope you can design it to be more suitable for none memberships as well.

What the hell happened??. Honestly Wattpad was such an amazing platform and I’ve had it for so long due to the mass amounts of amazing writers and stories to read, which inspired me to delve into writing of my own. When it was ahead of its time, now it is simply backward, the stories consist of extremely cliche fanfics that hold no substance and the rare but great Fic’s in Wattpad can be found somewhere in the depths of the abyss that is Wattpad’s useless tags. Along with the updates that don’t actually seem to fix any of the bugs or ‘update’ the app with new features except provide previously avid Wattpad lovers with a new ‘premium’ feature that just takes away from the beauty of its previous nature. The previously free features are instead replaced with some money hungry ‘Go Premium’ button staring into your broke and innocent soul. Most of the people that use Wattpad are either teenagers who write for fun or creators that seek a platform they can freely express their juices without having to pay money to maintain and interact with others through their art. If Wattpad continues down this spiralling path of not listening to its customer base it will be no surprise when writers find some other place that provides them with a viable platform to showcase their work. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Horrible. I’ve had watt pad for about 2 years now and I have loved how you could read books offline and it was perfect for someone like me who uses it at school and at work but ever since the update I was highly disappointed by the fact that I now have to pay for the books that I have saved to read offline and I may have the money for it but I refuse to pay a cent just to have access to read books that I have chosen. I only got wattpad for the easy access to books at school and work for the offline access and it’s going to be harder for other people who enjoyed this app to do so aswell, so either I find another fanfic app that allows you to read offline without paying and delete wattpad or wattpad gets their act together and allow everyone to read offline. Yes I do understand that they need to earn money but restricting people’s reads to 2 books isn’t the way to do it and not everyone has the money to do it. Either they write their own books and have some authors write stories that they can use or find another way but don’t make people spend their money that could be used for something important to buy access to something that they won’t want to do

Get rid of paid stories. I downloaded Wattpad 6 years ago and it was a good decision. I could write stories and have fun with it. I could read whatever I wanted and know that I can still have access to it offline. I found my favourite book on here and I read it every year. But then you brought in paid stories and only allowing people have 2 stories downloaded. I loved this app because it was free. Read and write at anytime day or night with or without wifi. My favourite book is now a paid story. I’m happy for the success of the author but people’s favourite stories shouldn’t have to be paid for. That’s what publishing companies are for. On here everything should be free. So many apps are now bringing in money and it’s super annoying. You’re popular already stop just trying make your apps ‘better’. It may make it better but it also pisses off many users. You better see this and do something about it.

This is a complaint. I’m very disappointed!. Ok so I would have given wattpad 5 out of 5 stars but no! I won’t! I love wattpad their are so many amazing stories you can read. Most of my day I’d be reading stories off wattpad, because I enjoyed it so much and I got to read any story offline but only if it was in my reading list. Not to long ago I updated wattpad and when I opened it to check out the new update, I found out that they had changed it, they changed the fact that I could no longer read my saved stories offline. I can only read THREE stories that will be put only to offline reading section. So out of all my saved stories in my reading list I can only read three offline! This has really made me made and very disappointed in wattpad. AND!! If I wanted to add more stories into my offline list, I’d have to get wattpad premium! Like what the heck I am not paying, it’s stupid! So WATTPAD!! Please change the update. Thank you!

Search Function isn’t the best. Hi Devs, There’s something that I find quite annoying with the search functions that wattpad currently has. 1. You can’t pick the tags you specifically want when you’re refining your search. You can only choose one main tag while the others are preset options you get. This makes your filter option heavily restricted. You allow authors to tag their stories for fine tuning their audience, but you don’t allow readers the quality to search for their own tags. How does this allow for readers to find the author’s work?? I don’t know. RNG? 2. When picking a genre, the searches come up with the generic one size fits all. It’s not completely catered to what kind of stories the reader has in their library. It is honestly the most annoying thing I’ve found. You have a search function with limited use. It’s basically a tease that creates irritation amongst readers (like me), who are looking for specific tags. For example, I would like to read a completed story, this will be the main filter, I then of course would like to refine it to something I’d like to read, BUT WAIT! I CAN’T! Why?The tags are preset. To my misfortune, the tag I want to use isn’t in your preset option. It’s not popular enough. Not saying your currently fiction is wrong, but it definitely needs a lot more work. Putting in a feature where we can search for our own tags would help readers find novels more fitting for their taste.

What has happened.... I am being completely honest when I say I absolutely LOVED Wattpad (operative word being loved). I used to find it incredible that an app with such amazing features existed. However, since this new update I’m starting to reconsider... I know that as an individual they probably won’t see this review and even if they did, they wouldn’t take it into consideration, but hear me out. These new updates are absolute rubbish. Wattpad used to be 10x better before the updates. I’m honestly so scared to update now because I truthfully don’t want to see what new restriction they have come up with. Every best feature of the app is slowly being removed. I mean what in the world is the only one offline book. Absolute garbage. I’m starting to reconsider using this app. The developers have become more greedy and restricting and honestly the Wattpad community will start dying out. It used to be a place of creativity and enjoyment, now it’s just another organisation that wants more money. Hopefully they come to their senses and restore the app back to normal, if not the community needs to boycott until they have no choice. Thanks for reading. (If this is the developers please be a bit more considerate to the people who can’t afford these features, return to the way you were before).

Good. I've had wattpad for many years and I've enjoyed reading all these different and diverse stories. And I've tried writing some stories myself, though most of the time they never get published. The thing is, wattpad now has quite a bit of ads, which don't really bother me as much as having to pay to read certain books AND getting rid of the ads. And I've noticed another thing with wattpad these past few months. Everytime I'm reading a story a notification will tell me "an ad is gonna appear after this chapter." Ofc I don't mind but the thing is, after I watch the ad my whole screen turns black and wattpad suddenly kicks me out? Now I don't know if it's the app or if it's just my phone. I've also recently found out that we can only add 2 books to our offline list, ONLY 2?!?! I remember back in the day we were able to read ALL of our books offline. And now because of this I am deeply upset and disappointed, and maybe even a little discouraged to continue using this app. I also rembered when we used this app we NEVER got ads while we were reading, but now alsomst every 2nd-3rd chapter we we get one. I Understand having paid stories, but having us pay in order (I can't remember how much but it's was roughly $10) to read more stories offline and to remove ads. Its saddening, because I'm not gonna pay to be able to read. Netherless, I'm glad I'm able to read as much stories as I want when I'm on the internet (besides paid stories).

Not so keen on the new look. As far as writing platforms go, I’ve found Wattpad versatile and user friendly, and by far the easiest site to use and navigate. I’ve had a few hiccups with the editor freezing, and a few odd glitches in between, but I’ve still loved the site. I’m not so keen on the new logo or that there’s no option to change the colour scheme to a more eye-friendly design, not for free users anyway. Which brings me to point out that I’ve found the video ads to be extremely intrusive, and annoying for users with limited data or with bad internet. I don’t have a problem with ads in general, but scrolling through a book and having my app crash because it tried to load a video ad- and failed- is beyond tedious. I also don’t like the way the site has started to promote premium exclusives. Did you have to insist on taking a leaf out of YouTube’s book? If the price was a lot less expensive- maybe, just maybe I’d consider it.

Ideas that will makes your app more attractive. - if you’re gonna make people pay then add features like; pay for promotion, where you can pay for your novel to be seen in an advertisement or whatever. The advertisement could pop up based on the tags the author has put on the story. - paying your writers. Look, this is my personal opinion but, if you’re gonna put advertisements on our work than at least give your writers some credit. I ran without them, you wouldn’t have an readers and without readers you wouldn’t have an app. Even if it’s some sort of token in your app that can get cool things, like idk, no ads for 5 chapters, things like that. That way you and the writers (with bomb content) can make money, and us readers can have read awesome stories. - this is just a wild fantasy of mine but, interactive stories. You ever get one of those books from your grandparents where it’s like, The Lion King or The Jungle Book, except you’re in the story? Like, your name is in the story, as well as your features and and family’s names. Well, wouldn’t it be cool to make money of that idea and put it in your app? seems as most people only care about money... and idk ... it would be a neat idea. I mean, I would definitely pay for it....

Please stop shoving paid stories into my face. I’ve been using this app/website for almost 3 years and I gotta say, I liked the old layout better where you can actually read what the book/fic is about without having to click on it, that and all the recommendations are the same stuff over and over. Now about my main problem, the paid stories. I understand that you want to show original content some love and give “popular” creators revenue as well as the app/website, but for the people who come for fandom stuff, the stuff we want to see isn’t being properly recommended to us and the only thing we see are paid stories this, paid stories that, and it gets tiring pretty quickly. One thing that should be an option (which I don’t know why you don’t let us do this in the first place), is to allow us to block the paid stories tag or at least have an option not to see them and instead filter content around stuff I actually read/tags I use. I recommend adding a “follow tag” filter, where you get books/fics that release in that tag on the front page for a user called “recently added”. Let’s use #Originalshipping as an example. If I only wanted to see content with this tag in my feed, the filter would make it so then only content with that tag would appear. Just a few suggestions to make the app/website better •w•” for anyone reading this review, stuff like Ao3 is better, it already does this-

Goodbye Wattpad.. I understand that you guys have to earn money, I don’t mind watching an ad, But taking away offline reading and restricting me to 2 books?!? I travel a lot, I go for days without wifi and I don’t have a phone/data so thank you Wattpad, thank you for taking away my only solstice. You’ve helped me through a lot. My parents splitting, moving thousands of miles away from friends, driving for days just to visit family. But I think this is where we part. Thank you Wattpad for the memories and I hope you bring back what we’ve lost so new viewers can experience the joy I felt. Congratulations for losing your number 1 selling point and a loyal 4 year user. Goodbye. Edit: There’s more ads now. Usually they’d give you an ad between chapters, which annoying as it was, was nice since it didn’t disrupt the chapter. Well nevermind! Because they’ve now added ads to the bottom of your screen which you CANNOT GET RID OF. they’re pushing for you to buy premium, I get that it’s a free app and they need money BUT FOR GODS SAKE STOP IT.

Not as good anymore.... I’ve seen a lot of people saying the same thing as I am about to, though, it’s valid. The new update has ruined the app for me. I would read stories during school, and at my friends’ houses, and it was amazing. I love the idea of a place to upload ‘books’ for free and to even read them offline, but the new update is money hungry. I understand needing money to keep the app alive, and I could live with an ad or two on the occasional book, I could live with the paid stories. But this app isn’t what it was just a few years ago. This app isn’t the fun, creative space for aspiring writers, fandoms, and kids to have fun. Having only 3 offline spaces for stories is ridiculous, and while the app has brought me many good times, and years of enjoyment, I might end up deleting it soon. While I love this app, I don’t think I can deal with the new update. It’s put a sour taste in my mouth and I don’t feel like just putting up with it. I hope the developers consider changing this.

Some annoying things. Love wattpad and have over 100 books that i adore BUT I have a few issues. I hate that the “recommended” shows up with books that I have already read, voted and commented on (even put into reading lists and my archive). Wish they would not appear in recommended. Also wish that I would “woosh away” a book or remove from the homepage if I have no interest in it, similar to Tumblr, so that I can find books I would actually like to read! This would be really helpful! The “hot” and “featured” parts of genres also need to be wayy longer as there are usually only 10 or so books in each section. ALSO there are so many glitches I don’t know how Ihaven’t deleted my account out of frustration from the amount of times it freezes, 5 minutes after a new update as well!! update: the newest update which includes every author's message board posts is SO ANNOYING! i don't want to keep up to date with every single author i follow, and if i did i would go onto their profiles and look for myself. the message board posts clog up my notifications and make me miss books that have been recently updated! please change it back to the old version i hate it

It’s over. It’s not me it’s you !. I have been on Wattpad for about a good 5 years now, I have read countless stories that have made me laugh, cry, and feel many other emotions. I didn’t mind when they added in ads I could handle giving up 30 seconds of my time to support the writers whose work I loved reading, then they added premium and I could handle that too it really didn’t impact me, then their was paid stories now that was a bit annoying but still I could live with it but now limiting the number of stories we can have in our library saved offline to 1. I am sorry but you just lost a long time user of your app. I thought that the app was all about being able to discover stories to love and a means for upcoming writers to be able to express their stories and share them with others and was originally all for free and now with the new update you have limited the chance for that to happen all due to the fact that you want money from users going to premium so that they can read stories offline. I am not sure if you know this but majority of you users are students, low income workers, or parents who might not be able to afford to pay for the premium services or have access to wifi 24/7 , I know I myself don’t. So I guess it is time for me to say goodbye to what once was my favourite app.

Eight plus years of being a Wattpad user. I used to love Wattpad it was my favourite app Overall however Since Wattpad introduced paid stories and paid membership all the app ever does is glitch( probably trying to get people to do paid membership). It no longer keeps track of where I’m up to in stories, I can’t access the navigation while I’m a chapter I can only do it at the end or start. There are a lot of ads and I don’t mind ads they help the writer however when they were introduced we were told they you only be every now and then lately they are between every chapter and they are very very repetitive ads. Overall if I can find another app that doesn’t have these problems even if it’s a paid one I will switch it’s just way to much hassle to have to find where I’m up to every time I want to read a chapter of a story. Also I’m happy to pay to use something like this but the fees Wattpad are charging is extremely outrageous for what they offer, especially when very little of the profits ever end up with the author.

Battery???. While I still love this app as it makes it a whole lot easier to read from Wattpad on my phone or iPad lately it has been doing some weird stuff. 1. It will randomly, while I’m reading, turn the sound all the way down on my phone and I just get the little notification in the middle of my screen telling me my phone is on silent. 2. What’s up with the battery consumption with this new update wattpad? It’s been like 2-3 days since I updated the app and since then I can go from 100% battery to 15% within 3 hrs of reading a book. My phone is fine when I don’t have wattpad open and the battery will last past one day so like what the hell wattpad. So while I love the app for reading purposes you really need to fix this in a new update wattpad cause it’s absolutely ridiculous. My phone is about to go flat now, 3.5hrs after unplugging it this morning from a full charge and all I have been on is wattpad. FIX THIS.

Wattpad is great and all.. But. Wattpad is great and all.. but, there’s a little problem that I got recently. It’s about the notifications about comments. When I get notified on my notification board and tap the comments from the books I've finished, it will just keep loading and loading. It's not because of my bad internet, because I don't have bad internet, but I looked through thr problem and thr problem was because I have finished the book. Well, that's what I think. I finished a book I read earlier and went to my notif board because I've got some notifications, tapped the replied comments from my comment on my book. And for some reason, it just kept me on the loading screen. Which is pretty frustrating for me and I can only hold my patience for not that long. So can you please fix this bug? It's starting to get annoying..

Amazing but…. I have been on Wattpad for over a year and it’s been amazing. I love the app and stories and people on the app. It’s always been a comfort place and is entertaining and useful. There are many interesting stories and I enjoy almost all the ones I read. It has provided opportunities for new writing ideas and inspiration. Some of the best books I have ever read are because of this app. However the ads have become a big problem. I used to be able to deal with ads between chapters but now that Wattpad has added ads to the bottom of the screen it has completely ruined the experience. The thing I loved about Wattpad was how immersive it was and not having ads on the screen all the time. Having the ads on the bottom of the screen is distracting and makes Wattpad seem like the low quality games with endless ads. I would consider buying the premium version however it is a lot of money and feels like far to much. Overall Wattpad has been a good app up until they added the ads at the bottom of the screen. It feels cheaper (even thought it’s free yes) and less effort put into it. Yet again feels like it has dropped in quality and is a less enjoyable to read on. Please remove the ads at the bottom of the screen Wattpad.

Apps good but two things. Now from the review title itself, you’d think that this should be more like 4 stars, however the thing that is missing is more critical than you think. that thing being the ability to delete notifications and also when you mute someone, they dont see your stuff anymore/cant @ you in comments. this has mostly come to the fact that im used to being able to block people to have them to stop engaging with me (which allows me to not have a panic attack for when things get too far) however, wattpad only has the mute feature, which doesnt work when its in someone else comment section. As im sure everyone will agree, i dont like being called chronically online for having feelings that i have chosen to say in hopes that they will back off, however i now am reporting someone for harassment since i see all their messages even when i mute them, causing me to have a panic attack at 9:30 in the morning. this is absolutely not okay and could be fixed with either a comment delete feature or a proper blocking system.

Few problems. I love this app a lot don’t get me wrong but there are a few problems 1. I don’t like the actual app I prefer using it on the internet because, the app doesn’t load all my books In my library and the books in my library are grey and when I click on it it doesn’t go to where I left it it goes back to the start of the book which is annoying as hell. 2. Most of the books don’t add to my library which is also very frustrating because that means I don’t get notified about updates. 3. The suggestion books would be good if they were like ones I’ve previously read not complete different ones not even close to what I like, also not ones I’ve already read nothing more annoying then have a suggested book and you’ve already read it so no new books that way unfortunately. If those problems are fixed it would be a outstanding app.

It’s becoming a bit too restricting. I love Wattpad, I really do, but I don’t think I’d be able to continue to use the app if it’s going to continue to be restricted unless you purchase “Premium”. I don’t think I could keep using it, it’s not so much the lack of freedom anymore but the unreasonable restrictions. The last updates have been fine to deal with but now it’s even harder to move around with room on the app, I think, fo me, restricting the library actions was just a bit too far, as a school student I read up to 5 books a day and don’t have access to the internet or the money to pay for a continuous premium. Restricting it too only 2 offline books, without being able to tell if the books will last long enough... moving to another platform does seem to be the easier option, and I hate to admit it but I’m leaning in that direction and I’m sure others are as well. I just think Wattpad has crossed the line when it comes to how much should be restrict without having to subscribe, especially when a large portion of Wattpads audience is low income teenagers and young adults in school with a tight budget. It sad because for a long time Wattpad has been a huge part of mine and my friends lives, in being able to express ourselves and see others expressing themselves in ways we can relate to them.

10/10!. Wattpad is an amazing app. Almost all of the books that poeple read are for free, there are also a lot of fanfic books that I personally love. So many creators with so many different genres. You have fanfics, dramas, romance and anything that will fill your personal needs. You are able to add books to your offline list which I love SO MUCH! And if you stop reading a book and think you are going to lose your spot, it’s fine. You are able to save it to your library and if you haven’t done that it still automatically saves and you are able to continue reading from where you left off. It’s an easy 10/10. Highly recommend getting this app (especially if you are a book worm like me). Another great thing is that you can create your own books and out your own genres into this app and when you search for books you can use tags to get more relevant things that are more so what you want.

Glitching. I absolutely love this app. I use it every day for hours on end and you can pretty much find anything that you want on there, it’s got a reasonable amount of ads and there are books that you have to pay coins for, but using ads you can get coins and read them so it’s not like you have to pay to read everything. it’s always really nice to have conversations with people about the books they’ve written or with people who are reading the book and come up with theories or just discuss things. But I have been having this problem where It will constantly glitch and my book I'm reading will be reset to the first chapter. it’s extremely annoying and I don’t know how to fix it because I’m not doing anything wrong as far as I know, I really need help with this because it’s beginning to happen every day so please fix this as soon as you can

Why the money?. The stories and creators on wattpad are amazing, as well as the reading setup. However, I have been with wattpad for a long time now and I hate how it is slowly becoming more about the money and less about small creators who just want their stories to be read. I understand having a few adds here and there, but after every single chapter of any story that I read, there is an add played, it takes away from the whole reading experience, dragging me away from the story. The newest library setup makes it so that unless you are a wattpad premium member, you can only read two different stories while being offline. The whole reason I got wattpad in the first place was to be able to read amateur authors stories while I am not connected to a wifi or service provider. When I first got wattpad, you could add as many stories as you wanted to your library and read them anywhere you wanted, this made my wattpad experience better, as where I live, there is no phone service and a lot of the time, no wifi. I don’t understand why you need to be a premium member to read stories you love. The changed set up makes it near impossible for rural kids, who are unable to afford such luxuries as premium, to enjoy reading the stories they love. I know that this review will most likely never be read by anyone who actually cares about any of this. So, if anyone is reading this, please, help me understand why the money is so important.

going down hill. i’ve been reading and writing books on wattpad for over 5 years and i can honestly say i really enjoyed that time. the reason i liked wattpad was first and foremost the offline reading option. there are plenty of other places i could have gone to but i chose wattpad bc i was able to read all the stories in my library when i was offline. but now, i have to $6 a month (of which i don’t have as like the majority of users on this app i’m a student, a minor and have no steady income for these reasons). i don’t mind the ads and payed stories that’s great! but this feature is pushing me into a corner and asking me to cough up the cash or leave essentially. also the recommendations system is not at all useful. 90% of the time my recommendations are just whatever kpop and 1D stories are the most popular at the moment and there is nothing on the list that’s even closely related to stories that i am actually in to and are in my library. the process of only ever promoting books that are already extremely popular is extremely flawed because most of them are all just one type of story and there is no variety for readers looking for stories that aren’t kpop adoption stories or whatever. over all, far more negative than good on this app and that’s just because of the way it operates.

“Reading position” problem. I’ve been using Wattpad since 2013 and have loved it since the start of my use but I have come across a problem recently. For the past three books that I’ve read, whenever I finish the last chapter that has been published and exit out of the book, it appears that there’s a section that was not read. Thinking there’s a new chapter I do onto the book to read it, however the chapter that is “unread” is the same exact chapter that I read just before I exited the book. I will go back onto the book and “read” the chapter (by using the scroll bar and scrolling through the entire chapter so that I end up on the bottom of the page) thinking that would fix it, but the moment I exit the book, the cover of the book shows that there’s a section I did not read. What should I do?

I hope you read this. I love wattpad I truly do there are just some things that could be fixed. 1 - On the website version please please please make a dark mode like inkitt has. I much rather wattpad but at night when I'm on the website its so annoying to read in white background. 2 - STOP GETTING RID OF THE CONTENT THAT HAS MATURE SCENES, like cmon so many ppl enjoy it especially Ace that was an amazing story and I couldn’t believe when you took it down. Why are you making this app more kid friendly like its not supposed to be, removing stories with smut in it was a really bad idea and I really hope you put those stories back. They are truly some of the best parts of the whole thing. Besides this I do love wattpad, but please consider it wattpad xx

New update is TERRIBLE. Honestly I have loved wattpad for as long as I can remember I read it every day and I am obsessed with the books and before today I would have given it 5 stars but this NEW UPDATE is completely trash. Taking away the opportunity to read endless books on long car rides, aeroplane flights and simply when you have no internet connection or enough data is completely stupid and ridiculous as a lot of the audience that reads wattpad like myself are in school and don’t have a job. How are we supposed to pay for a premium that is simply been modified to basically force us to pay or we cannot use it is wrong in so many ways as it restricts the use on this app and unfortunately many MANY people that have updated are extremely not happy such as myself and even my friends this has lead us to pretty much use other platforms which is devastating as this was such an enormous part of my childhood and for a very long time was the best app you could have. I suggest you either reverse the update completely or lose a lot of the community.

It Helped My English. I was fluent in English before I got the app but there were words that I didn't put in the correct sentence sometimes In school I'll struggle with punctuation a lot, so it was kinda hard for me I got this app Wattpad, I knew what it was and I knew that my sisters had it so I got it I read some interesting books Romance Fanfics Fantasy I loved them all! Until I found out I can make my own so I did My first book wasn't so good It made no sense(I spent a lot of time on this one, didn't publish) My second book Still made no sense (didn't publish) And third book Still made no sense but a bit better than the others (didn't publish) And then there were others I made which I also didn't publish Until one day I decided to make this book called 'Best Friend' I wrote the first part and I showed my sister She said it was pretty good So I continued it I read over my pages over and over again for my mistakes Soon and slowly I started to realise I was getting better and better every time the more I wrote and the more I read I learnt new words I started to get better scores in my English and I was able to pronounce things better I feel great now that I can write better All thanks to Wattpad (And my sisters) I 100% recommend you get this app It's so awesome!😱😆

The Fall of a Great App. Much like these other users, I’ve been using Wattpad for years now. It used to be a close-knit, personal community to share stories and ideas with each other. Now, if feels as though we’re all miles apart with the latest updates. As all the changes rolled in, my love for Wattpad as a whole slowly dissipated. I gritted my teeth and went along with it, because surely these “improvements” were to bring new readers in, right? However, the latest update has drawn the line. I rely on the app to get me through the long journey to and from school. I don’t have access to wifi often, nor do I have a lot of data to use. And now I have to PAY to read these free books? I’m a student. I live independently on top of that. I can’t afford to pay for a premium subscription, just to read the stories in my library offline. To be honest, as fun as it’s been, I think it’s time to move on from Wattpad. I can no longer it if this is the result.

Money. I’ve had Wattpad for three years and over time it has not gotten really any better.. The recommendations list for my entire family’s profile is getting filled with books that are incomplete to 3 chapters only for the next few weeks and don’t spark any interest for me. Not only that but paid stories have gotten kind of annoying, I understand that it benefits for the author but it’s kind of tiring for people who are unable to but the coins but are really interested in the plot and the author.. I have to address the offline book thing on the app, people have said things about that but since then it’s only gonna up by one book, since 2019 you weren’t able to read any book in your library unless it was added as an offline book, which is hard for people like me who constantly forget to put books in my offline list, the idea of putting on offline list honestly puts a stop to the benefit of just being on a train and reading books without having to use data or wifi.

Amazing😍but a little update fix at help ?. I read everyday on here and I absolutely love how you can change the size, font and colour of the page and if you are used to turning pages you can do that or scroll 😍 but i wish after one week of not updating the writer should get a text as there are many good books but I can't continue reading them until they are completed and I've waited over 6 months for one of my books and I think it does get quite annoying 😐 There’s also a new bug that I’m experiencing, everytime I close the app it sets it back a couple chapters so unless I remember what number I close the app on I get lost and end up having to reread, if this was fixed it would be perfect

Is this a glitch, or...?!. I love Wattpad, but I was extremely disappointed to find out that the books in my library can no longer be read without internet. Any story added to your private library when online used to be able to be read whenever, but now that advantage is gone. It’s become a nuisance, and with the bad internet where I live, I rarely get to read any. This could just be me, but the two stories that you get to put offline don’t work. I still need internet, so... what gives, Wattpad? Is this a glitch or...?! Everything else is awesome, and I beg you to keep publishing books free, because my piggy bank is filled with sand. I love being able to write my stories, and I can’t afford to pay to do that. Thank you, just fix the glitch or whatever it is with my two offline stories that don’t work even 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲.

GIVE BACK AUTHORS BOOKS ‼️. ok i’ve been on wattpad for many years now so i’ve seen all the changes but it’s really gone downhill in the past year or so. there’s way too many ads even on books that are free. I don’t mind paying for certain books because authors deserve to be paid for their work if they have that opportunity BUT it’s still a free app that offers free books not ads every 2 chapters. i used to be able to download my WHOLE library which consists of over 800 books but i can only download 2 now. what a downgrade. now the main reason that inspired me to make this review. the deletion of mature books.. a very popular fan fiction called “After” (i actually hate this book lol should have never existed) that even has a 2 movie adaptations is full of mature content. it’s safe to say that “After” has probably gained wattpad a lot of attention and money. wattpad is obviously built of these mature books it makes no sense for webtoon to come in and change around the rules to fit the pg 13 rules they have in place. mature books are labeled mature for a reason, authors put many disclaimers before hand so it’s not their fault if a 10 year old comes along a decides to read a heavy clearly stated 18+ smut. books that authors have spent long hours on were taken down without ANY warning!!! now i’m just a reader but having a 50+ chapters book all of a sudden get deleted sounds so stressful. sorry if none of this make sense i’m angry and bad at grammar and want to rate this a 0/5

message board!!!!!!!!. I love wattpad, I’ve been using it for over four years now and use it nearly everyday. But the message board!!! I get that some people might want to stay connected with who they follow and stuff but my notification tab is just full of people’s random message board posts that I don’t really care to read. I tried turning off the notifications in my settings but they didn’t work. Please allow an option to turn off getting notifications for people posting on their message boards. I used my notification tab to see who followed me or who commented/votes on my stories, but the tab is so full of message board notifications that I have trouble finding all of that. Please fix this; it was a cool feature but some people want to be able to control what notifications they get (((:

Constructive Criticism. I actual love Wattpad so much! I don’t mind the premium and the offline reading limit at all because I can work my way around it. Because I read one book at a time so I don’t get confused and I read books that are completed so I can binge reading them. I also read ongoing books but I wait until they are completed. I love Wattpad so much! It’s such a great app, I would 200% recommend to other people if they were contemplating whether or not to download the app. However, I have a list of things I would like to be added into the app to make it easier. I would love to be able to write reviews on books on Wattpad, so that way we know what we are getting ourselves into and so we know we aren’t wasting our time. Like a little section that says “Reviews” about a certain book. Not sure if that makes sense but be able to write reviews on a book on Wattpad. I would love to be able to go into Night Mode while reading. Like be able to make the reading page into Night Mode. Because at the moment we have the home screen and the comments of the book, not the actual page where we read it. It would be wonderful to have that as night mode too! Another thing is that the Private messages often glitch. When I send a message the same time the other person does, the messages don’t sync and the don’t show up. I would love for that to be fixed. But other than that! I’m absolutely in love with Wattpad and it’s a great app! Keep up the good work :)

Its great. I love being to read a large diversity of books each telling there own spin on some of my favourite topics. One thing I might request adding would be an update on filters, specifically, estimated reading times. I usually like to take time with a story, and to have a story that I know will go for longer than average is really hard to find. I’ve only managed to find 5 books lasted me a month of reading. Each at an estimated 1 day and 5 hours of reading time. I’d request that, similar to the page filter, going up to over 50 pages or more. The people of Wattpad could implement a similar system based on the estimated reading times, going up to a day, or just over 20 hours. I know this will probably be unheard or an unpopular opinion, but just in case others have similar feelings I thought I may leave this request. Overall a great app for finding a story that’s best for you and sharing your own creative outlets.

Please reconsider for future updates. I have been using wattpad for almost 4 years now. Every time I update my wattpad, it seems as though the app is getting worse and worse every time. The fact that premium is a thing completely drives me nuts! I understand that your company needs money but isn’t this supposedly a non-profit app? The fact that it’s a community where we can all share our stories and ideas with each other sounds like something you shouldn’t be able to profit from. And the fact that we now can’t read more than one book offline is just ridiculous! I miss the time where I could just read without any ads or without having to pay to read other books or where I could read unlimited amount of books offline! I would love for you all to just reconsider the features that old wattpad used to have and to bring them back or to find a way to give that community-feel back. To me, wattpad now just feels like an app where it’s goal is to leech off people who don’t have a job and need to find a way to pay for premium that isn’t really necessary in the first place.

Love it. I love this app but there are a few problems. The first one is that when you look at my story info it says there are no reads but when I go to edit it it says it has 13 reads idk what's going on and how many reads I have. Second is that it's really hard to get your story out there without help from another author. Tags help a bit but not much. I had a story published for a few weeks and no one read it. Also please make it easier to find new stories to read that are related to the ones your reading not just random ones. Also there is a bug where I'm just reading a story or whatever and it takes me to Te App Store to buy a game as if I clicked on an ad when I didn't. And lastly the recommendations for other books you would like aren't particularly helpful because I usually get books I already have or one I have zero interest in. I love this app but just a few issues. Thanks Edit: I’ve come across a few new bugs where private messages won’t send. I would also like a feature where you could make reading lists private. Thank you

Wattpad used to be so good!. Wattpad before was amazing even when they introduced having to pay money for different things and adverts BUT now you can only have 3 books saved offline !!!!!! Like seriously you already put enough adverts on the app! Like what’s if I’m camping or a long car trip ??? Ahah no i can’t read because I would probably finish the books! If you want a limit then fine do it but 3!!!!! Come on at least 6 🤡 look I love the books on wattpad I love fanfic and all that and I would really love to keep using wattpad but I’m so close to deleting this app it’s just getting annoying!!! I’m happy for more adverts or something and I’m fine with it not being 100% free I understand you need to make money but seriously it upsets me now I can’t have my books offline and I’ve talked to other wattpad users and they think the same !!!! You will lose your readers wattpad !!! Especially because some of us don’t have the money to just blow and don’t have much money at all so yeah! Please please re-think this, yeah making money is good and you need to but soon wattpad won’t be free at all and haha will probably still have adverts so like you will lose a lot of people!!!! RIP the good days of wattpad you are missed 😭

fix the ads or lose consumers. i recently updated my wattpad app and am now disappointed at the fact theres now pop up ads displayed at the bottom of the screen.. wattpad went downhill when they started putting ads inbetween every 2 chapters; but this is something else, i use to absolutely LOVE the app but now im being told to pay to have an ad free subscription for like a month or two.. i wish they had an option to pay for a permanent no ads option, but they dont. wattpad users are leaving for reddit and other online websites where they can read without ads.. i get that ads are necessary for an apps income.. but at this point its just rude to keep thinking of ways to shove them in our faces as we read..

THE APP KEEPS GETTING WORSE. I used to love Wattpad (I still do love reading the books) but the apps interface is continually becoming less user-friendly and more money-focused. Everything costs way too much money. There are several things that I wish the app would improve upon. The first is that there should be more than two offline books available at any one time (without paying for premium). This used to be a default feature but everything good about this app seems to get taken away at some point. The second is the activity feature located at peoples profiles. I understand that people like to have privacy. This is why there should be advanced privacy settings within the app so that users can be as transparent/private as they would like. When this feature was in the app it was nice to see what your favourites authors and users were reading and commenting. The idea of Wattpad is great, but eventually I will most likely delete it due to the restrictions put on ‘free’ users.

7 years and still going but come on give me some more themes. So I’ve been using Wattpad everyday for the past 7 years and my screen time is ridiculously high like I’m talking 100+ hours a week and I’ve been fateful I haven’t joined other reading sites or audio book sites because I love wattpad no I’m not a writer I’m very much a reader and I’ve stuck by when wattpad went through some really bad updates but I think people are going over the top about the whole hating the new logo I mean I love the old logo it’s been around for 13 years but I’m not mad about the new one wattpad is 13 YEARS OLD PEOPLE!!! They are entitled to a change like this after 13 years so get over it they changed there logo you should be more worried about the fact that we don’t have more themes! I remember the times when you could change the font colour, the page colour and the type of font on IOS phone!!! Get over it it’s a new logo it’s still the same app! P.S wattpad makers if you didn’t guess I would really like new themes please

Once a 5 star app. I have had Wattpad for so long I can’t tell you when I first discovered it. I’ve always loved and raved on too so many people about it - convincing them to download themselves. However then came advertisements ... then paid only stories. Honestly, I hated it but I appreciated that there was still the option of reading free and that it was still an app I could enjoy while viewing ads here and there for support. However I just discovered the change to the offline reading list. One of my favourite things was that I could download a story (any story, any amount) and read it offline with a simple click of a button. Which meant those long flights or lack of data where I had forgotten a book didn’t matter because well I could take out the app and either try a new story or read back on a classic. Really disappointed to now find that is no longer possible.

Constructive feedback (don’t disregard-take seriously). This is my second review and I’ve dropped the rating by two stars. I’ve had Wattpad for a solid two years now. It has an amazing community with numerous unique books and authors. However, an issue has seem to arisen with the new updates—offline reading. Surely you’re aware of all the poor reviews and ratings this app has been receiving consistently because of the limited books you can read offline. Giving authors the opportunity to earn money off paid books is an absolutely great idea, it helps supports authors; many people who are willing will pay premium for that. Nevertheless, it seems quite ludicrous when you expect your app users who majorly consist of teens and can’t make the investment to pay for a feature that used to be absolutely free, and nor can you expect us to become accustomed to these unnecessary updates. As high school and college students we have prior payments to make such as saving up for bus fares and college tuitions. Your users are what make up the entire Wattpad community and you cannot disregard our feedback, without us this app wouldn’t have gotten where it is today. So take all our constructive criticism and apply it to where it needs to be applied, otherwise you’ll soon see those ratings dropping like bombs.

Not happy.. I have been a reader since 2012, wattpad gave me the opportunity to read anywhere and everywhere because I couldn’t afford to pay for books and splash the cash. I have spent probably thousands of hours reading, I would read when I got up, when I was at school and when I got home. I got to read what I wanted and when I wanted. And now I have to pay to read the books? Use my data to have an ad at the end of every chapter? Slowly you guys have been going south. I get the paid stories, sure, but I’m not forking out for your premium service, I’m not paying for the chapters, and most importantly I’m not wasting my data to have to watch a 15 or 30 second ad at the end of every chapter. People join wattpad because of the fact you could read without having to pay. And now I think it has come the time where I have to say goodbye to wattpad because this is absolutely ridiculous. You know when I went away for the weekend and didn’t have any access to internet I would download as many books as I can and read them while I was away. Can’t do that now can I. I’m not the only one and you guys know that and will be able to see that. You gave an escape to kids who need it, an opportunity to immerse themselves into a good book without having to pay or to watch an ad. It just seems money hungry now I’m sorry.

Can’t use the app bc of a stupid glitch.. So I’m a writing kinda girl, I REALLY love to write and before Wattpad, I always wondered “how do I get my writing publicised?” Well, if you want your writing to be free to the world WITH COPYRIGHT WHICH IS AWESOME than just use wattpad! My one problem is that I can’t comment, message etc, because the verification email hasn’t sent and no, I don’t have an old iPhone, I have an iphone 10 R. I’ve already tried 2 different email addresses, double checked the spelling of both of them AND even looked at the junk folder. I’m not sure if this is my problem or Wattpad’s but I REALLY need a developer response!!! This is stopping me from communicating with other people, notifying my readers of something and I REALLY DONT LIKE IT. But otherwise I love the app!!! Thanks. Update as of 23rd October 2021, I redownloaded this app after forgetting why I deleted it, same issue, so I came to write a review and found this unpublished one. My readers always give feedback and I want to thank them, but cant. Also can’t follow people. Please, please please fix this, or let me know what I need to do. Update as of 27th October November 2021. Still not working. My friend has the same problem. Fix it. Please.

Honestly. I flipping love Wattpad. It’s got such a diverse range of story’s you can read, and I have to admit, that I’m absolutely addicted to this app! I love being able to read anything I want as you could find anything on there, and being able to express myself through my own writing that others will be able to read. Apart from the occasion glitches or maybe the occasional times where there are way too many adverts, this app works perfectly. It all loads and syncs relatively quickly, and it’s easy to log into your account on multiple devices. Overall an app I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys reading, or is searching specifically for a type of genre or book. If anyone is reading this however, and your trying to figure out wether to download the app or not, take into consideration that the only books on Wattpad that you can find in stores are Wattpad original stories. There is also a paid stories program which is sometimes a little annoying, as you have to pay to read some of the really good books, but you can easily get 3 coins a day from ads, and it costs about 3 coins per chapter. I can almost guarantee, that if your looking for something fictional, or something fictional based off something non fictional, you will find it in this app. It’s also so easy to use, and that’s the reason why I prefer Wattpad over other reading/writing apps/companies.

Used to be good, but has some major issues. one of the biggest peeves with Wattpad is that when you set a story to private, any comments stop appearing in your notifications list. Yes, you still get a notification to someone leaving a comment, but as soon as you open The app, that notification is nowhere to be found and you have to go searching for it. Really frustrating! -1 star Anything rated mature is instantly void from the ranking system, so the only stories in the ranks are usually badly written teenage inexperienced copycat stories. Read one, you've read them all really. -1 star The recent major issues with plagiarism of stories from the Wattpad site, and the questionable conflict of interest of the Wattpad ambassadors who protect obvious plagiarism and delete the accounts of the original writer to remove the competition / evidence. -2 stars. I used to give this app 4 stars, but sadly, it's suffered a huge fall from grace in the last six months. There are some decent writers on WP, but you are going to have to search deep for them and most of them are now going to other platforms where they aren't punished for being good writers.

New update sucks. I love wattpad so much. But i dont like the new update. Thats so annoying. Its gets worst and worst. Pls bring back the old wattpad where you can read offline stories with limited access. I don't care if wattpad takes so much space in my storage as long as i have more offline stories whenever i cannot connect with any wifi.

colour. The colour is just so bad,, the orange is too vibrant it's painful to look at. Please change the colour back, at least. The logo is nice and I understand the concept of it, but i'm not sure I love it. Sometimes good things don't have to change because they're already great the way they are. I've been on wattpad for over 5 years. I've seen it change. But this one is just the worst one so far.

The heck?. Okay Wattpad...You started off as a free app for FREE books and you already make millions of dollars off of us watching ads..AND NOW I can’t even read those books anymore? The ‘coins’ are over priced. Good books can’t even be read by most people anymore. So I wonder, why? You did this.

Why?. I started to love Wattpad. Why? I do not even know. I started to read a book and I got invested in it. I accidentally took it out of my library and I realized that too late. I tried to search the book up on Wattpad and it never came up. I even tried google and that did not work. I went to see if I could find the author and Wattpad said there is no such person on there. I did some digging and realized that the hook is still on Wattpad and same with the author. What? Why was it coming up like that? I do not know? Now I am not able to finish the book that I started to get invested in. If someone could help me that would be great. I was reading the book The Erised Effect and the Author is Ada_P_Rix. It would very helpful if Wattpad saw this comment and told me what to do. If this ends up getting better then I will rate this 5 stars. But so far it so a one. Please please help me I am begging you.

Highly disappointed DO NOT DOWNLOAD!. For someone who has had this app since 2016 when it was free and you didn’t have to pay a crap ton for a membership, I am very saddened. Now I can only read two stories offline and not unlimited and yes there are ads but they never bothered me. What bothers me is that now I’m limited to how many stories offline I am able to read. I loved the app, until it was turned into a membership and non membership app. I’m very saddened to see it go this way. And I’ve noticed that it’s going downhill and barely any new stories besides the ones people are being paid to make, are being published. So ya don’t get this app NOT WORTH IT ANYMORE.

Greedy. Im actually very mad simply because now I can only have two offline books and you claim it’s so I have control over my storage yet if I wanted to have them all offline I have to pay monthly for it!! Paid stories were fine but seriously how does that make sense. I’m thinking about switching to another reading app because this is awful

Y’all have NO chile. The bible app is free.

Disappointed.. I am a longtime user of Wattpad. It originally started as a platform for inexperienced writers to branch out and write for people looking for some free, original stories. Over the years, Wattpad has changed for money. Don’t get me wrong, of course I expected some small changes to happen as the platform grew. But these changes are anything but small. Only two stories at a time in the library? Video ads every 10 minutes? And so on. I am extremely disappointed. So with that... I was a longtime user of Wattpad. I’ll be deleting the app seeing as updates get increasingly worse.

ads at the bottom of the screen. listen, i have been using wattpad for a very long time now. i hated when it got ads in between chapters, but i’m used to it now. but NOW - now i’ve got ads at the bottom of my screen while i read??? SERIOUSLY??? i’m actually so mad. i use this app to escape from reality, and now i can’t. i’d rather use the website at this point. please wattpad, get rid of the ads at the bottom of the screen!! i’m poor and can’t afford to pay to get rid of the ads!!

#bringbackoldwattpad. its amazing i love this app but the new aesthetic is horrible. everything is so much darker and modern. bring back the old wattpad design it was vintage and cute.

Bring back the old Wattpad. The new wattpad right now sucks. You get to have only 2 offline stories and I like the vintage one better because It kinda brings back the old days when I first started reading wattpad and I think it’s simple, but cute. Pls pls pls bring back the old wattpad!!😭😭😖😫💖

I love it but somethings going on. I’m trying read a story and I get redirected to safari saying I’m hacked??? I go back to Wattpad try and open another story get redirected again??? Help??? Wattpad are you hacked???????

Seriously. The app is good I love it and I’ve been using for a long time but the new update is horrible. The fact that you have to pay just to read more then two stories online is so dumb and stupid because the it’s all about money like what? Bring back old Wattpad cause this sucks

hate the money program. y/n did not get kidnapped by 5sos for this.

Hate The Beta Program. I used to love Wattpad. And I understand that they are trying to support writers and I think that’s very important, but it seems that lately everything that Wattpad was when I originally downloaded the app has gone in favour of money. I used this app because I could escape and not worry about money issues. Now, everything that I am interested in reading is denied to me because I can’t afford coins. And I know that there are still free books, but the way that they choose which books are free is if they’re not the best books- anything that gets any attention gets monetized. So the things with writing that doesn’t appeal to everyone or books that aren’t very popular don’t get any support, but the ones that are crazy popular and could probably be published in hard copy format cost money that not all of us can afford. Bring back the add format- Writers still got support, but no one is asked to spend money that they don’t have. The Wattpad beta program is awful. If I could give negative stars, I would.

The newest update. Seriously, I used to love this app, but now we have to pay to get offline stories?!? Like come on! Wattpad was much better before! I will not pay for someone that I had for free! Please bring back the way it was, I don’t want to read all my stories only when I’m online!!!

Decent besides it. Hacked my phone

A different purpose.. Wattpad no longer embodies the statement “reading for pleasure”. Their purpose has changed, straying away from the people who have given endless support to a platform desperate for money. Needless to say, I will no longer be reading on Wattpad as I am very disappointed in how they perceive the meaning of reading, where everything is about money and no longer for the passionate interactions between authors and readers.

Eh. Wattpad isn't a terrible app, but it definitely has issues. The new look isn't all that nice, honestly it's a bit too bright. There's also a bit of a crashing problem that I keep finding. I honestly also think that supported stories are pretty stupid. Maybe instead of paying for the stories, we get it as an option and can choose, otherwise, the story will just have more adds? Because Wattpad was founded so that people could read without paying for books. All in all, I'll probably keep using the app, but it I sure as hell am not going to read any of the supported stories or anything like that.

y/n. okay off topic but y/n is such a pick me girl with no personality. bye

Freezing and Crashing. So I've decided to give this app three stars because on my phone it's great and works alright. On my IPad though recently I can't read anything because the app will freeze and then it ends up crashing. I hope this is fixed soon. Thanks.

Meh. The app crashes with alarming regularity. If you’re in the middle of reading something it’s okay cause it will boot up at where you left off. If you were browsing, however, and happened to be reading the synopsis for what might be an interesting story, you would be screwed. Hopefully you have better browsing recall than I do. It also bugs out pretty often. It will get laggy when opening up reading lists or loading the book synopsis. Once reading it doesn’t really glitch out, other than the whole app crashing thing. That being said, it’s all free so...

ao3 is beter. ao3

The ad. Again. Once again there’s an ad at the bottom of the the page. Why get rid of it if you were just gonna add it back. 🙄

DNF. Dream Not Found Content :D

Uh.... Don’t get me wrong I love wattpad and its creators but this new premium thing isn’t working. It’s not just that it’s annoying, it’s that it won’t work and that at this point it is just a money grabber. In my opinion the demographic of users using wattpad are probably 12 year olds reading fanfic. Do you think they have money? And also how many people do you think got annoyed with it so they ended up deleting the app? Remember when wattpad was a free platform for creators to get together and for you just to read because you couldn’t do the same on other platforms.

The New Ads. Wattpad has added an ad at the bottom of the screen while you read. I like most readers who don’t pay to have ads removed get very distracted and annoyed when reading and seeing it. It makes me seriously consider leaving the app, it should be removed

Downgrade. The new update is stupid. You shouldn’t have to be on wifi to read books, that was one of the many reasons I loved Wattpad, but now with the go premium for mostly everything is ruining the app. I enjoyed it when I could be camping and still be able to read books offline and now I only get two books if I don’t want to pay for premium every couple months? This isn’t an upgrade, this a downgrade at is finest.

Premium for unlimited offline mode?. Are you kidding me? I used to use Wattpad to read my favourite stories on the bus but now I can’t even do that because I need data to that, the whole reason I downloaded wattpad was so that I could read stories by different people anywhere without wifi, I didn’t need to add them to my offline mode or anything, and another thing why is there only TWO slots in my offline library? Like what is with that? Bring back the regular offline library where I didn’t have to pay money just to read a fan fiction on the bus!

It WAS great. The older version was better. I understand that you need to make money to keep the app running but this new feature is pissing me off. All my books were offline and I could read which ever I choose now I have to pay for my library space. Wow thanks.😡😡

amazing!. im just a sad gurl who needs to read about my non existent love life and if you’re the same, this app is for you 😙✌️

Deleting the app. I used to love wattpad, I used it all the time and I just recently got it again. I just found out you have to pay to continue to read books and I don’t have any money to pay that nor do I want to for some books that is not written by real authors. I’m not paying for these stories when I could buy books by real authors 👋🏼. Have fun mooching off of kids.

No. The colour is too vibrant and the cover looks dumb. So bring back old Wattpad. #bringbackoldwattpad

Dear Wattpad. This sucks. I, and many others, joined Wattpad for the fact that it was a FREE book app where I could reading millions of books both online and offline at my leisure. In the past, I would’ve given this app a solid five-star rating but now I don’t think it adds up to that standard. I feel like Wattpad is slowly turning into an app solely based on money and straying from their original goal. I was okay with the paid stories program, and I understood that the writers behind these magnificent works need to be supported, but now that reading books offline has become a premium feature, I’m afraid I won’t be continuing with Wattpad any longer. Only 2 books to read while offline without premium, like come on? Are you serious? I used to be able to read HUNDREDS of books offline for FREE. This has completely ruined my experience.

.... I enjoy Wattpad- or the stories and people on it at least. When they changed the colour scheme, I could deal with it. Yes it was jarring and ugly but it was fine. But this latest update? Where I can only read one story offline? No. Just, no. I’m sorry but I can’t deal with this. I got Wattpad so that I could have books with me wherever I went. Now I can only have one. I don’t have the money to pay for premium! Please change it back. I get that you’re a company and need money- but if you keep making decisions such as these I will uninstall the app and delete my account. I refuse.

i’m disappointed. i’ve been using wattpad for many years now and through all the updates, i’ve never complained too much (even the paid stories - i get it, authors need to get paid). but now, they’ve added an offline feature. before, any story in your library could have been read offline. now, up to two stories in your library can be read offline. like for what???? as much as i like wattpad and the stories on it, i’m disappointed in the updates they make; they aren’t useful for the users at all

Hate new update. Extremely annoying to get halfway through a book then find out i now have to pay to read the rest of it, people use this app because it used to be free because a lot of people can’t afford to be paying for books they don’t know if they will even like. Also most of the books that are going to be free won’t be any of the good ones so what’s the point on continuing to use this app. Quit saying Wattpad is remaining a free app because a free app wouldn’t have so many hidden fees: false advertising.

it was good but now. wattpad used to be my go to app for road trips and offline reading. now with the very stupid 2 book max i can’t read anything. it really sucks and you’re ruining the app.please bring back the old wattpad.

Offline stories. I’ve had this app for years now and have slowly watched it become a money grab. Yes I understand that people need to be payed but everything is just forcing you to get premium. Everything was perfectly fine with the offline stories. I could read whatever I wanted while on a trip as long as it was in my library, but now I only get 2. Why? What’s the purpose? There wasn’t any harm before so why did it have to change now? People get bored with two story while on a long trip. Please bring back the old offline stories cause that was the only really good thing going for the new Wattpad recently.

This sucks. Ok, so as an artist I understand that it takes time, energy and effort to write and that authors definitely deserve to be compensated for such if it’s an original story (not Fanfiction or plagiarized work). I believe in Author rights, and that if they wish to sell their story rather than have it free, that’s their choice and props to them. As a reader/consumer it my decision on which stories/authors I want to support by spending money. However I always felt that what was great about Wattpad was that it was a place to get amateur writers exposure and allow them to get feedback, build up a reader base and grow as authors. It was also a great tool for people of lesser means (kids, people from 3rd world countries, struggling artists, etc) to access original creative content. Now it feels less like a creative community and more like a consumer community where everything has become monetized. The app creators need to make money too, as everyone else, but now it feels exploitive for some reason. The worst change is the offline library being so limited. Not everyone has access to WiFi or data 24/7 and unfortunately it’s people of lesser means who usually don’t. People who will NOT be able to afford the subscription. But I guess they don’t care about these people anymore. If they’re gonna limit it for whatever reason, why at such a low number? Wouldn’t it be a better compromise to use a higher number, like 30 or 100? I hope that users of the app take a stand with me and submit a low rated review and stop using this app until the creators start listening.

New update. They’ve gotten sooo money hungry. Wattpad used to be the plug for unlimited free offline books and now? A limit of three offline books because they just want you to pay for their dumb premium program thing. First paid stories, now limited offline stories. So disappointing.

There's a glitch. Wattpad is good. But there's this weird glitch where I'd suddenly loose my place in a book I'm reading and I'd have to find where I was reading. Like, I'd go on wattpad and when I press on the book, it just starts off from the beginning of the book. It's really annoying please fix.

Rlly?. Okay. First of all. All my stories used to be offline and now they aren’t. And I’m really upset because now I have to pay just to read my stories offline now.

Going downhill. Stop deleting stories, authors put time and effort into them. Also the ads?? Why are there so many now

What the heck?. I love that I can read whatever I want and all but this new update if only having two downloaded books? Really? Are you that desperate for money? This is absolutely ridiculous.

Unacceptable. I know I use a free version but there are a ton of advertising and each time is 15 seconds. Now you tell me that have a new experience is a 2-limited-story. Can't believe that!!! ( ಠ ಠ )

Bring back old Wattpad. Why the have they become so money greedy now, i miss being able to read all of my stories offline without paying, and along with the fact that alot of the smuts are being taken down, like its 17+ app, webtoon get your priorities straight

Ewww. The update is stupid I’m going to tell people to not use the app until they bring back offline reads I have access to @safe_talk_space so I can reach to 14k people

It was better before. I remember finding Wattpad several years ago when I was looking for an app where I could read stories freely, without having to pay money or see any advertisement. All I had to invest was my time (to read, of course). I was so happy I downloaded this app, because I thought it would always stay free and uninterrupted. Yes, it did stay that way for a while. But an app can only stay good for so long. First it was the logo. The classic and simple W was replaced by a curvy one, and the orange was much brighter. I thought, "This doesn't suit Wattpad, but oh well." I didn't think much of the update. After a few more updates, I started seeing ads whenever I read a story. I was incredibly disappointed. Before, writers would write because they enjoyed writing stories. Now, with ads in the picture, it seems they're writing not for the readers or for themselves, but to gain money. The stories lack the genuine excitement from before. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to gain money through an app, but Wattpad is a READING application. Not money or ads—but reading. Currently it's so focused on money, money, money, that the developers might as well put a price tag on the app itself. Here I was thinking this will be different from the others when it turns out to be the same. I miss the old Wattpad.

So.... Okay, so. I love Wattpad. But, the monetization has taken so much charm out of the app! I feel like every single good book is monetized now, and it’s frustrating. Some people don’t have all that money to pay, and it’s not fair. Not to mention the fact that people can only have 2 books offline. It’s stupid in my and many others opinions. I know I can speak for many people when I say the monetization should be removed, or at least lowered. Hopefully wattpad will listen, and try to make the app something the users want.

Love Wattpad. I love everything about wattpad and I personally have had no problems with it at all. I personally enjoy reading and writing. They are two of the many things I love to do. With wattpad, I can enjoy books and fan fictions that I can’t read anywhere else and I can share my many book ideas with the world without fear of being judged. The wattpad community is a wonderful place. Every one is so nice and not judgements at all. It’s given me confidence to comment my thoughts, which I’ve always wanted to do but wasn’t brave enough. I’ve been able to be myself and no one judges me. And everything about wattpad has given me confidence. I’ve been on wattpad for two or three years now, and I have nothing bad to say about it. These two, three years have been the best years of my life because of the confidence that the wattpad community has given. This is the best app/website ever and I recommend it to all the readers and writers out there. I’ve been apart of this community for two or three years now and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. I look forward to seeing what this app/website will become and I thank wattpad for everything it’s done for me.

Coins to read?!?. Wattpad used to be an enjoyable platform for teens and young adults to read. But now I’m being forced to pay?! I have been reading Wattpad for years now and never had to pay. There used to not be any ads but then those started appearing every few chapters which is fine. Then, there was a Wattpad premium option but otherwise you had to watch a 10-20 second ad which I was also fine with. Now I’m reading a book, only to get stopped at chapter 15 with a notice saying “3 coins for the next chapter or 178 for the whole book”. Come to find out that these coins are ridiculously priced at 9 for 99 cents and other packages for more. I just don’t understand. Kids aren’t going to ask their parents to pay for that and if you have to do that for every reasonably written book then that’s ridiculous. I’ve been reading for YEARS with out having to pay. I understand if it was like a Harry Potter book or something but this is just an outrage. You’re going to lose a lot of followers with this new coin update. I get writers want support but if they do they should try and get it published and take it off of Wattpad, not inconvenience regular Wattpad readers who just wish for a good, enjoyable read. I’m very upset about this and hope you all will go back to just ads soon because I’m not paying 8 dollars worth of coins for a book that I could’ve read for free with minor ads just a few weeks before.

Does Wattpad not care about their consumers?. For a great deal of time the app has been through major changes, some of them we can overlook, but the biggest problem of all that many of your consumers have been complaining about doesn't seem to be reaching the creators of this app. This app has been freezing, glitching, and kicking people out of the app making it extremely difficult to read through just one chapter without having to restart the app. This makes me want to delete the app despite having stories that i like on it because it's just becoming too much of a hassle. Reading through your reviews there are numerous people who are going through the same thing yet when an update comes along we get even more premium features, which is just unnecessary since i doubt people even wanted the premium feature to exist anyways, instead of seeing you guys ACTUALLY FIXING THE PROBLEM. This goes to show that you have not been taking into account what your consumers are repetively asking of you. So instead of wasting your time into trying to gain money with your premium features from people who just want to read i suggest you actually listen to what we all want cause sooner or later people will get tired and just delete the app all together. Hopefully this task is something you guys are capable of doing although i'm starting to doubt whether you can fix it since its gone on for so long.

Changed way too much. The whole app has changed completely and I absolutely hate it. I’ve been on this app since I had a phone and it’s been about 5 years since then. I could read many offline stories and they were free and we didn’t see any ads. And then, Wattpad changed its logo. And then added coins and paid stories. And then added premium to remove the ads that come on every other chapter of free books. And then we also had to be premium to even get an unlimited amount of offline books. It’s so stupid. Like this app was not meant to be paid at all. The idea was to red books of ASPIRING authors not New York bestsellers, and then we could vote for the top books and actual publishers could discover and they’d get off of wattpad and get published. But then wattpad got really popular so they then started adding so many things to pay for. The main demographic are young people. We’re broke. That’s why we started on the app we wanted to read but can’t buy books. They got corrupt and decided to screw us over just to make any remotely successful author on wattpad happy. I’ve given up on reading meaningful stories and my past favorites I can’t reread because I have to pay for them now. I’ve decided to stop reading and get other hobbies or find a better app.

Ehh. I understand what they are trying to do with the new coin system but I think it is very irrational for the audience Wattpad has. Your audience is young and is using your platform to read books for free and in return supply comments/reviews/feedback to the writers— and most don’t mind watching ads to support them. However paying per chapter or for parts of a book is super inconvenient and is super pricey! I was expecting it to be maybe $2-3 tops to finish the book I was reading- not $8!!! And then that was for a random amount of coins... the system doesn’t make sense and is very infuriating. I will say I am not the usual audience and am an adult who makes money- i wouldn’t mind if there was an option on the authors profile or at the end of the book to “donate” to the author or pay for the book as I see fit... there are a few books I would have definitely contributed towards... but that should still be optional- you need to know your audience and their limitations. At the very least the books that will require coins should have a notification from WATTPAD, not the author, informing them about having to pay for the book. I gave more than one star because I understand and will still use the app for now... however if the coin system remains I’ll likely end up deleting

Where did the good times go Wattpad?. I as many others love wattpad, but I don’t think it’s working out as much as when it did way back. I understand, longer time, more users and the app wants to catch up with today. Yes there has been a high demand for things lately and there has always been ads in this app. Though is it really necessary to add so many things in these updates? Like come on. I understand the app needs money but are you serious in taking our enjoyment away with extreme ad revenue and having premium? Like what in the world wattpad, I love you but your making this relationship feel one sided. No more offline reading, focusing more in the paid stories then recommending me books I want to read. Your being pretty selfish and I might be a tiny bit too, but you were so much more amazing back then than you are now. All I ask is for you to come back and if it’s going to take going back to the times when it messed with iOS sound then so be it. It pains me to say this but if this continues we just might have to go our separate ways and I promise you, many others are saying the same. I hope you listen (read this) carefully and take this and the other bellow perfect reviews seriously or else you might just dissolve with the good memories I and many others had with you.

I love it! But……. I’ve had WATTPAD for a VERY VERY VERY long time now! I absolutely LOVED it, I got to read my fantasy books, comment in roleplays, and many more!~ But………………When I got locked of my ipad one day, I had to restart everything and erase some of my social media data stuff. I had made a new account for my old account, which really made me upset since I had put so much effort into my work on my old account. When I wanted to comment on a story where I roleplayed with my friends. It wouldn’t allow me since I had to verify my account. But I couldn’t, I tried putting in my email but it said it has been verified already. But I haven’t used any account with my email, since for my old account it was a random one. I was EXTREMELY upset since I wanted to comment on my friends stories to support them and rp with them. But sadly I can’t. They really need to fix this, I really want to comment, but I can’t since I have to verify my account with an email but I can’t use MY email due to it already being used, but it”s my email, I have to be able to verify it more than once, like 10 times or something. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this, I want to comment again and roleplay with my friends like I used to 2 years ago...

Um just one complaint sorry. Idk if this was part of an update but just recently I was able to read mostly all my stories offline now it says I have to have it On my offline list but when I try to add it on there it says it’s full even though I haven’t added anything and the only way to have unlimited again is to join premium which i can’t because I don’t have any money I’m fourteen. Even tho I am young and haven’t been on Wattpad that long I think a year now I really lov-ED emphasis on the past tense this app I would spend hours reading the stories people could come up with and it was helpful too have it offline to read because my family doesn’t have WiFi at our house everyone has service on their phones except me because I’m the youngest so I have to use a hotspot once a day from one of my parents phone to connect and find stories. Once I do I save them then go offline so I don’t waste the hotspot (hotspots can run out and I have to wait until next month so I can use it again) and I start reading them idk why you would change it and I’ve been reading other reviews they’re not happy either I suggest you listen to us the readers and writers who don’t have much and look to your app to escape reality or will end up with none at all just read the reviews... I would have given this app five stars otherwise.

Used to love and use everyday but.... I’ve been reading on Wattpad for at least 5 years and it’s overcame so many issues. I’ll start off with a small recommendation, I have a lot of books in my library because I like to bounce around and so I get hundreds of notification in a weeks time and I COULD turn them all off but then I wouldn’t know when the book I’m currently up to speed on is updated. So what I’m proposing is that there be a way for us to choose what books we get notified on for updates. Now to the main point and the reason for 1 Star, I understood the whole ads and the paid stories (which i don’t like, but understand) and I understand you need to make money, but the limitation on how many books we can read in offline was something I’d hoped would never happen to Wattpad as a platform for writers and readers. It’s really annoying as I get tired of books fast and like to read in school (with no service) and on trips (when I have no service because I live in the middle of nowhere). Even if you had to make a one time fee for unlimited offline I’d be okay with that, but I hate the limitation on offline books. It was perfect the way it was before. Please go back.

BEST app to EVER EXIST (NOT CLICKBAIT). The world was crashing around me before my eyes when I caught my husband cheating on me with Amber Heard! I sat on my couch eating chips all day eating potato chips. I didn’t take a shower for days! I just wanted love to take over my world once again but I wouldn’t settle for anyone other than my beloved husband. He left his hoodie behind and I crawled in it and slept in it for days without taking a shower so his scent wouldn’t leave me. As I was wiping my mascara away, my friend sent me a text message saying do download Wattpad! I looked at the reviews and saw many positive things about it! I downloaded the app immediately and it was the best decision in my life! I could read anything from fan fiction to muster and crime! I’ve learned very important things from these stories like how to slash your ex-husbands tires! I was overcome with joy and I decided I was going to get revenge! I camped out by his bushes and shot blades at his tires as he was pulling out of the driveway! His car swerved and hit the streetlight! I’m so happy he has permanent damage to his car and I have never felt better. If this doesn’t convince you to buy the app, I don’t what will!

Saving doesn’t always work. I’ve been using wattpad for several years as my preferred platform to write, organize and edit a lot of my early and final drafts. Recently however I have started to transfer as much as I can to other apps as backups because of a serious issue I have come across on a regular basis. When using multiple different devices, the wattpad program can’t seem to comprehend how to save files. My most recent experience with this was when I was working on crucial editing to a very important scene. I had just laid out the ground work and was now ironing it out and more importantly improvising a lot of dialogue. When I was finished I saved on my laptop and continued on. A few days later I began to work on the following scene on my Ipad(Where I do most of my work). When going back to review my previous adjustments I noticed it was all lost, hours lost over a lack of proper saving, and before I receive any criticisms I made sure to save it multiple times through out. If this were a one time occurrence I wouldn’t be writing this review, but it happens so frequently. It can’t be that difficult to implement a proper cross platform saving application, Google docs having figured that out flawlessly. If this problem is addressed and solved I’ll reevaluate my review, but as of this point I don’t recommend this app if you are writing drafts.

Cool! But maybe... if possible?. I LOOOOOVE Wattpad. I have only been on for a few months, and it's my happy place now. I'm an author and reader on there, which I find really amazing that you get to read other people's stories and write your own. If I was a developer of Wattpad, I would add some things though. Wattpad, amazing? Sure. Flawless? Yeah. But it could become the BEST THING ON EARTH. I think it would be AWESOME if you could work with other people to write stories! There could be a thing that asks followers or people you follow to join in writing a story. Okay, maybe I'm not high and almighty to be asking about this, but it's only a suggestion. I also would enjoy it if there was a spell check/grammar check for the people who want to write but have trouble spelling. I'm not one of those people, but there are plenty others! And for asking to join in a story? For amazing people everybody love, (take H.J. Nelson, for example) every user could get a limit of five requests until they have been answered. I'm not saying I would make a better Wattpad then what it is today, I would have never thought of such an amazing app by myself. Wattpad is the cause of my euphoria, but it can do slightly more to try to be better if there's anything left to top.

Rattle snakes. There has been many writers who have been complaining about plagiarism. The fact that the ones who stole the ideas of others books gets to walk away free, while the original Author gets blame is absolutely incredulously stupid (yup I said that). I can’t enjoy a book that I like soo much without being told that they are people who would stooped soo far down to take credit for people’s hard work and dedication, and it’s sad because that’s where and why the app starts to lose many of it great users who follows the rules and not be stupid. Those hard working authors are the only reason why Wattpad has a 4.6 ratings, keep letting them feel discouraging and the app will have no one reading or creating. I advise that WATTPAD starts updating itself and find those who steals others people hard work and banned them from Using the app and also the bullying and the need for others to think just because someone is successful it’s okay to start bringing them down with hurtful comments. Last time I checked those are the ones who ends up nowhere in life and get trampled and stomped on because they thought it was okay to make others feel like they are worthless.🙁

Quality of stories has gone down down DOWN. I’ve been on Wattpad for 6 years now, so I’ve been around for a lot of the graphic changes, the addition of ads, etc. Let me just say that when Wattpad first started it was awesome! It was really easy to interact with other authors and readers and spread your work around while also finding new, interesting books to read. That’s all changed now. The cafe is filled with people trying to promote stories with basically the same plot, which would be a problem if the stories were actually good. I’m not trying to bash on the authors, but most stories on Wattpad now are very bland with one dimensional characters and a very cliche, overused plot. The worst part about this is that those stories are the ones with millions of reads and votes. I find this the most frustrating because these are the stories Wattpad recommends you to read or they’re the first stories to pop up in the search results. One time I literally skimmed through 12 different books before finding a decent one I wanted to read. This isn’t Wattpad’s fault as the readers on Wattpad are the ones making these books famous, but I just wish Wattpad made a system or algorithm that helped us find GOOD QUALITY books a lot easier.

Wattpad Slowly Censoring Works. I am one of the Urban BxB authors on there. I been on the app since 2014 and I feel they made a LOT of unnecessary changes. One of the WORST updates every was removing the news feed. How else can we see new updates and works from mutuals? They updated the mute feature so people you mute wouldn’t be able to see your page at all which is a plus but the dumbest things that was done was removing the private chapters option when you have An adult chapter. Wattpad now messages you telling you that they have removed/blocked images and GiFS that don’t fit their Guidelines which wouldn’t even be a problem if they didn’t remove the private story feature. They are slowly but surely censoring and stifling authors words and works. They will unpublish a completely harmless chapter gleaming that you violated guidelines because you posted a shirtless pic of a model. It has become more and more blatant of Wattpad disregard for creators. They don’t promote Black writers as they do the Caucasian ones and are very selective and picky about who can get paid for their stories. They’re using ads in OUR stories but authors don’t see any revenue unless “Ghost readers” buy coins... How dumb is that??

It’s nice but, it’s slightly rough around the edges.. I got Wattpad soon after I got back into writing and I just intended it to be an online archive of my works, and for that purpose, it’s absolutely wonderful. I love that you can make covers, your work feels way more substantial that way, and releasing something makes you feel accomplished, and you get to see other people’s works, thrive and grow, and it feels like I’m in a author’s paradise. My problems with the app are very miniscule but they added up over time. For example, I design my own covers for my books, for them to be best optimized for Wattpad, they have to be 512x800. The final render turns out to not look good and aren’t in high definition, meaning I have to go back and make one that has more quality. Another thing, is the newly published Dark Mode, now I use Dark Mode on most of my apps, and I gotta say, it is spectacular, and I was elated to hear that they were adding dark mode to Wattpad, when I turned it on however, they seem to have had oversights because text didn’t change to white, so it was impossible to read, so I thought they would patch it in an update. They have updated twice and the glitch still isn’t fixed. So overall. TL:DR: Pretty good, problems with dark mode.

Love this App, but.... I love this app and I’ve been using it for a few years now. I love all the new updates that are continually added. The one problem I have is with the archive and library. I have all the books I’ve ever finished and loved in my archive, but seeing how long I’ve used this app I’ve collected quite a few. So my one problem I seem to be having is when I’m searching for a new book I can never remember what books I’ve read or not and if I’ve put them in my library. Some books I found that I want to read and I put them in my library and then find that I already have read it. Sometimes I’m okay with rereading a book, but I can’t remember if I liked it or not. If I didn’t like it I don’t really want to read it. So I was wondering if it was possible to be able to tell us somehow that we already have it archived or a warning to pop up when we add to library to ask if we want to add it to library when it’s already in the archive. Or how when you click on the plus sign if it’s in your library it has a check mark maybe add one for archive. Those are only a few ideas but you guys are the app developers so I’ll leave it in your hands. Thank you!

Ads :(. I have had Wattpad a long time now and I’ve always loved it for reading and writing and discovering new people. The update, however, includes ads that take a long time and now you have to pay for some of the books. It used to be a free reading app and it was my favourite thing to spend my time on. You also changed the logo which was very upsetting because it felt like the end of an era. I’m disappointed in the update altogether. I’ve been a long-time fan and have told all of my friends about this app since I got it in 2013 and I’ve never been more upset than I was by how many changes were made. Overall, still a pretty great app, but seriously disappointing because I felt like this was the one app where everything is free and you can do anything without charging a fee and watching an ad. I can understand that in a world where money is everything, ad revenue is important, I just thought that I finally had found an app that was different. I was wrong. The charging for a book is absolutely ridiculous though I read books on there written by 12-year-olds that are more entertaining than the ones that cost money, but I can’t even read those if I want to. And now you have to offline your stories and take up more room on your phone. Seriously so incredibly disappointing.

Capitalism has ruined it. I’ve been on Wattpad since 2016 and it’s changed so much, and not in a good way. You used to have access to all of the stories in your library offline, now you can only have two and if you want more you have to pay for it. There is now paid stories that used to be free, but now if I want to reread them I have to pay for it. There used to be an occasional story with like 3 ads in the whole entire thing, but now every single story has an ad every chapter that is either promoting Wattpad premium or it’s a video you have to watch to continue reading. On top of the extreme monetization of the app there is bugs, stories randomly freeze and I can’t continue reading with out exiting the app and returning, just for it to happen again in 5 seconds. When I search for something, half the time it says that there are no results, but it’s a popular topic so I know there is stories. I miss the old Wattpad and I want it back, if y’all are so dead set on changing the app, make positive changes, add more filter options, such as an option to hide stories you’ve read before, or to exclusively show stories you’ve read before, to choose the type of main characters you want to see by gender, sexuality, race, etc. Please demonetize the app and add things that readers and writers actually want. Until you change things, I’m deleting the app.

New update. I love wattpad, and always have. I just think that the old logo was iconic, and should have been changed. This is why I’m not getting the new update, but I’m still keeping the app. Besides, I don’t think I could go without the app for the time it takes for it to update! I love how wattpad has always been a safe place where everyone can share their thoughts and be heard without actually having to confront anyone. Additionally, while cyber bullying is present in every social media site, all the instances I have come across have quickly been put down by the victims friends, irl or online. It’s always a positive experience where you can explore anything! Edit: the reason I put 4/5 not 5/5 is because I think the old logo was iconic and shouldn’t have been changed, and the addition of coins. Coins support the writers, but also doesn’t, since then less people will read the story because you have to pay. It’s generally only for certain stories, mainly by wattpad ambassadors, who likely make a living off of this, and I support that, but as a broke student I just want to read good stories for free

With every update, this app gets worse. I haven’t had Wattpad very long—somewhere around 2-3 years—but I’ve had it long enough to know that with every update the app just gies downhill. It used to be a free platform for writers to get their start on and for readers to enjoy. But now i feel like this app is more about making money and keeping the writers happy rather than the readers. I understand the ads because they are what help to keep the app free, but honestly yall need to chill with how many there are. I get an ad after EVERY single chapter i read and it’s annoying. I honestly don’t mind watching the ads, i just wish there weren’t quite so many. And having to pay for coins to unlock chapters on a story that isn’t complete and/or isn’t even published published is also bothersome to me. Writers deserve to be paid for their hard work, yes, but why should I have to pay for chapters, and watch ads in between every chapter? Seriously, Wattpad, you need to pick one. And the cover of the app is now so ugly. The orange looks horrible and the W is abhorrent as well. Some change is good but all of this change is really bad. I miss the old Wattpad that was both writer AND reader friendly. Without readers this app would literally be nothing and completely flop, so yall need to figure out how to please both parties before you lose all of your customers.

Good app eh premium. Ive been using Wattpad for a few years now and I loved the app, reading books for free, on offline mode and online mode and seeing what people make for book creations, the one thing I did hate in the newest update was you can only have one book when your offline but unlimited if you get premium, I wouldn’t say I like it but I can’t say I hate it either, their trying to help us users save space on our phones which I love thanks developers, but I hate that I need to be in a area where I can get internet access to read all my books I have on my list(which I have like 300, I know I know I’m a hoarder) but also I don’t like how i need to pay 60 dollars a year for premium just to read all of them it’s like buying a xbox gold membership and I should know, my brother uses one, so I would like one of two things developers, A, you make it free again but keep all the rest of the extras because I like looking at black backgrounds because I look at white screens way too much, B, you keep everything but reduce the price on premium to a considerable amount because I know you guys need to make money some how, maybe someone in your group doesn’t have a job and needs this money. I’m just asking for one of the two, if you do both but altering them in someway shape or fashion, that’s even better

A Wonderful Platform for Writing AND Reading. Wattpad is a wonderful app that I find myself on every day. The app used to have a few bugs, such as mess up my progress bar on certain books that were in my library, but they have been fixed quite quickly. While reading, it has many reading preferences you can set. For example, you can change the font style and size. You can also change the background and text color. In addition, you can set if you want to scroll through a chapter or if you can't to swipe to simulate pages. You also have the option of it "auto-scrolling" where it scrolls for you at a constant rate to make it look those infamous Star Wars intros. You can adjust the speed of the rate at which it auto-scrolls, also. The app is also a great platform for an aspiring writer like me. I can publish my works for the anyone to see in a fairly professional manner using this app. It has the ability for thousands, or even millions, to read my books without me having to find an agent or publisher that will accept me. Overall, this is the best app I've ever used.

great idea and basic concept. i absolutely love Wattpad for it being the only real social media outlet for books. i find reading other peoples books help me to become a better author, because i can easily recognize others mistakes, and go back to my own work, then apply the correct format that needs to be used. the community you have built here is always amazing. i have great constructive responses on my work and i feel that i could truly be a great author one day just by the way this app helps to make me a better writer. Its a great way to make my work public and to not feel embarrassed by the writing i made because everyone on this platform has some work to be done, whether big or small, everyone could improve. it makes me realize that i am in fact not a bad author, im just a author that needs encouragement and proper criticism. i love your app. truly i do. but there are a few things that i believe could be tweaked. is there a way to change in my settings whether or not i see certain updates, or messages posted on someone elses board, in my notifications? can i somehow make it to where i only see a select few? if so that would be great. thank you for your time and consideration:)

Just A Thought. I love Wattpad, and this is just an idea for a feature I think could be added to make it even better than it is. By adding books to your library, you save them to be read at a later time, but sometimes you might forget to add a book to your library. I was reading a book recently and closed the Wattpad app to go to sleep, but because I was tired I forgot to add the book to my library. When I opened the app again in the morning, I was shown the homepage, and though I searched for the title of the book, there were many books by the same name, and I was unable to find the book again, even after searching for it the whole day, trying various keywords and tags but to no avail. I think it would be great if there was a sort of history that a user could access to retrieve books they have read in the past. Wattpad currently has a search history feature, and activity history limited to votes and comments and updates, but there is no history log for simply opening and reading a book. Again, just a thought, but I believe many Wattpad users would greatly benefit from the addition of a reading history feature.

Wattpad..... Alrighty, I've had this app for over a year now, my friends too. Me and a girlfriend of mine use it to write and get our stories out there, and it's fun and all, but there are some problems that have kept me from giving it five stars. First off, it's complicated. Like, not the actual using it part, but getting in and staying in. The amount of times I've bee kicked out of my account is too many to remember. And when I try to get back in, it says my password is wrong when it isn't, and even after I've pressed forgot my password and set a new one. Along with that, I'd made a backup account so I could inform my readers if I got locked out, and Wattpad, no matter how many times I've tried, never sends me the email to verify my account. So that's just great. Recently though, which is why I've decided to write this, another problem has come up: it won't load. So, I was locked out of my account, got back in, but when I went to write and proof read my chapter, it wouldn't load. Like, was just stuck on the loading screen for as long as I let it. This is the third time I've redownloaded this app, but the problem still hasn't been solved. I love Wattpad and the stories inside, but the problems just aren't it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I've used this app for years and I still use it daily. There's so many wonderful stories.. And for free! The only thing I suggest (and why I wrote this review) is Bc I would like for wattpad to make something so the organizations of our library would be better. Like for iPhones we have the separate little folders on our home screens.. Something like that would be nice. I always try to follow a series and I ALWAYS forget the order and I can't check unless I have wifi.. Edit, 2019: I wrote this previous review a very long time ago. Wattpad has been the greatest app I have ever downloaded, and still is. However, I’m updating my review because I feel as if the same values are not held on this platform anymore. Paid stories, ads every 10 minutes, constant pop ups to upgrade to premium... it seems very money hungry to me now. I understand supporting authors, but how much of my money actually goes to them? Or the money from the ads? I think they’re only doing this bc many authors were putting their work up in another cite that required readers to pay per chapter, which is ridiculous. Stories on these platforms should be free, and if they’re good enough to be published then they don’t belong on wattpad.

No Coins!!. I have used Wattpad for several years now and I have read plenty of amazing books. And I understand that your trying to find a way for readers to help support authors. But I also know that many of the readers on the app are more than likely 11+ and most of them either don’t have the money or don’t wanna spend the money to read books that used to be free. I bought some coins a few weeks ago and I have yet to use them cause I’m afraid I’ll waste them on a book that I ended up not liking in the end, which isn’t your problem, I understand that. But my point is, Wattpad used to be free, you could read your books offline, that’s what I really miss. I remember when Wattpad was just Wattpad, no Wattpad premium, no coins. And honestly I miss that. It saddens me that you had to change. I’m glad these authors are getting supported but I just wish there was a different way. The ads don’t bother me much but I wish there wasn’t as many because they can be annoying at times. And don’t me even get me started on the new update 😂 I’m not a fan of the new logo cause I’m so used to what it was. But I’ll get over it. Peace ✌🏻

Losing Faith. Wattpad has been almost like a home to me since I discovered it in 2014. I started writing and sharing my work with others for the first time. I made so many friends I never would have met otherwise. I’ve grown with this app, as an author and a person. This app used to function so smoothly. I never had any problems, at least until the updates started happening more regularly. It’s one thing to fix bugs and issues users are having, but to completely change the app every month or so doesn’t seem to do much good. I have lost entire chapters of my stories because of problems syncing. This has happened countless times after various updates. And you know, maybe it’s my fault for trusting an app made specifically for writing and accessing your stories from any device but whatever. I’m not even going to mention the amount of annoyance the layout changes create because I know so many other people feel the same. Please, Wattpad. I am SO. CLOSE. to leaving this disaster of a site for something better, because there ARE better places to write than this. I only stuck with Wattpad for so long because it was simple, convenient, and reliable. Now? I wouldn’t use any of these words to describe it.

Wattpad was great, but no longer great. I have been using Wattpad for the last 5-6 years and I loved Wattpad, it was an awesome platform. That is in past tence and there’s a reason for that. As time goes, Wattpad keeps making it much more and more unfriendly for free users to make them pay for their (in my opinion) overpriced plan. I mean I’m happy to watch the ads if it would support the app to do better content and update. But dear Wattpad, what do you mean when you update new versions every week during the past 5 months, and all those give me are one same line: “What’s new: lights out. Dark mode for Wattpad is finally here.” Like seriously every week, the same exactly line in every update. You all may ask “well then what is new in their updates?”, to be honest, nothing, except they make it harder to skip the ads, add popups advertising their plans after every ads, etc. I’m aware that Wattpad may have to pay writers, but all writers I have read from are writing what they love FOR FREE. Let’s be real, there are so many new reading platforms out there, from apps to websites, that’s just better than where Wattpad is at the moment, not to mention a lot of them are completely free for users. You were the best of your game before, but not anymore. Thanks anyone that have gotten this far on my long opinion.

Things have changed. I joined Wattpad 7 years ago and throughout the years there has obviously been changes and that’s great, however, the fact that being such a old member doesn’t get you anything now is mind blowing to me. I have been using the site since they had various color options and more fonts, no or limited ads, no subscriptions, and no unlocking chapters by viewing ads. I understand the ads help pay writers and keep the app running and thats fine, but paying for coins or a yearly subscription of $60 is crazy considering I have been reading with wattpad since 2012 which is astonishing. I’m not saying to completely waive the fee or anything, but I do think if they acknowledge their users that have stuck with them before all of these changes, such as possibly getting premium for a month or possibly even a year, or a message from wattpad like a personalized letter. I will always love wattpad but it’s getting ridiculous with how much I need to do just to read a book. I also feel that the search engine should be better calibrated, if you type something in, the engine may pop up books you like but most aren’t what you are interested in at all and can’t find what you are actually looking for. The new color theme is also a big change, and actually hurts my eyes because of how bright it is. The color pattern does give off a nice cleaner look but can put more strain on the eyes.

The best app I’ve ever used.. Not going to lie and I’m not going to be biased. I’ve been on this app for six years now and it’s the best damned app I’ve ever encountered. I can read books that are professionally written, I can use this platform to open up opportunities for my dream to be an author...it’s everything a book work could want. Sure it has Wattpad premium and you can only read some books if you have coins, but it doesn’t matter because there are thousands of books available for free that are written very nice. And you can earn coins for the prepaid books by watching three adds a day. Most chapters of the books are like 3 coins? All you need to do is save up so you can unlock the whole book. This app allows rookie authors to publish their book to thousands and make money to feed their families. It quenches the need to read for free even if you can’t buy professionally written stories. There are so many brilliantly written stories by rookie authors waiting to be discovered...and if you have a dream to write you can add to the platform! The layout is also amazing via website and AppStore. I have nothing but good things to say. Sure it has its flaws but it’s improving for the best.

It’s good, but... I’ve been a member of the Wattpad community for over two years. Through it all, I’ve experienced some ups and down, but recently a major down has been added. With a new update, it makes you have these coins to read some of the books. You can read the first like.. 5 chapters, and then in order to read the rest, you have to have coins. If you don’t have the coins, you buy them. Idk if Wattpad is running low on money so now they’re making us pay, but c’mon now. When you’re as antisocial as I am, Wattpad is a safe haven where I get to read and write as much as I please. This update has gotten in the way of that. Typically it’s only big stories that Wattpad has noticed, but it’s still an issue. Another few things that are quite annoying are the ads between every other chapter, and seeing a notification every time someone I follow post on their board. I know a lot of people are loving these new updates, but for the people that have been here a while before all of this, we don’t appreciate it 100%. Overall, the app is amazing. It allows people of all ages to go to their happy space and right whatever they want. There’s all sorts of different stuff people write and it’s been my favorite app since I got it. Please try and fix these things Wattpad.

Great but just a few things to keep in mind... I’ve been on Wattpad for over 3 years, I’ve seen the app change throughout that time. I’ve seen many of my favorite authors grow and receive more attention, as they deserve. But then there’s these toxic, hating people who envy the attention they receive. So they find a way to get an author’s books deleted. They try to erase someone’s hard work and dedication. And it not only leaves the author at least somewhat devastated, but the fans as well. Wattpad has increasingly become full of these selfish haters and for that reason, our favorite authors are leaving and/or being forced out. Because of one to a few people, their work is being thrown into the trash as if it never mattered. It’s disgusting. So at this point all I can say, if you choose to read a book as your intentions suggest when downloading this app, do it quickly. Because you never know when it’ll be removed. I hate to admit it but the Wattpad community has grown increasingly toxic and you WILL be torn down. I’ve seen many authors upload their books many times after being taken down but it still gets targeted, leaving thousands to have something they enjoyed so much.. torn away. And you’d think once is enough.

You have to stop. I’ve been in Wattpad since a long time by now, five years more specifically, and I have to say I’ve never been so upset with you as I am now. This was supposed to be a platform where people can come and enjoy a whole world full of different and diversified stories. And it was, until they started to worry more for the money than for the readers and users. At first I was really surprised, and kinda upset with the new updates, but I told myself that it was ok, that change was good, but this is too much! First where the ads between chapters— I must admit this was one of the things that got me the angriest—, then was this thing about “subscriptions” in which you have to pay to gain certain privileges, and now, now you can’t even read a story unless you have an internet connection. What is wrong with you! Did y’all lost your minds? You’re making people have to waist money for offline stories. Why?! It’s shameful. Where does all those things about “the best offline and online free reading platform ever” are at? This is not what y’all said and promise us at the beginning. I get it, and I know that change is good, and that y’all need to gain money cause it’s something you’re putting your effort and time at. But, at what cost? A lot of people have been leaving Wattpad because of this things, and I still don’t know, but maybe I’m gonna be next. This changes you’re making, not all of them are for the good.

Umm..... I’ve had Wattpad for 5 years and to make this short (which I failed to do, sorry for this paragraph) I’m honestly so disappointed wirh what has become of this app. It used to be an app where people wrote and others read, some did both, simply just that— but now I cant even use it anymore. Premium features? Coins??? What is going on?! I’m a writer myself, and as much as I would love to get paid I still wouldn’t wish this frustration onto my readers. I love writing, regardless of how much I get paid; comments from my readers hold so much more value to me, and although I know everyones situations are different I personally wouldn’t want to make my readers have to encounter an ad every few chapters. Some authors need money, some readers need money. The fact that there are avid readers out there that can’t enjoy Wattpad because they can’t afford premium features or coins or whatever makes me so upset. Both authors and readers struggle equally, and although readers may not put anything out there, their comments are our fuel, or at least for me, and they motivate me to keep writing if anything else. They contribute to us with their comments. Now there will be fewer of them because they don’t have the money to read. Everyone just wants to read. That’s all everyone ever wanted to do. I said I was going to make this short but I’m honestly just really disappointed...

Please add blocking. I’ve been on Wattpad for five years and only a year ago did I decide to reveal my account to two people I thought were my friends. Ever since we’ve parted ways, on a bad note I might add, I’ve always been worried about my stuff. Only recently have I learned that they’ve been basically stalking my activity and talking about everything I do even though I have them mute. They even took screenshots of a rant I posted (then deleted when I calmed down) that threw shade at them for how they treated me. One of them used it to harass me on Instagram, but at least with Instagram, I was able to block them completely without having my privacy invaded. Muting on Wattpad isn’t enough because even though they can’t get into contact with me, I still feel uneasy knowing they can still see my stuff and activity. All of the things I write are my heart and soul, so imagine my frustration knowing those two are waiting for me to post something and possibly exploit it to ruin me. Please, I’m begging you, add a blocking option to where they can’t see my account. I hate disappearing on my friends on Wattpad, but I just don’t like the idea of being active knowing that those two are basically watching my every move.

Best app ever. Yo so like I have add this app for many years now, it’s literally my heaven and now that you can read offline it’s just awesome! I totally recommend this app and I even tell my friends about this because it’s just well amazing, I've never rated an app before but this one definitely deserves one The one thing that I don’t like is that if you forget your account password, and forgot the email (I had make a new account but I used the same email I think as my old one and it won’t let me log back into the original) I had some progress on my first original but i forgot the password (Email as well)and it won’t let me log in, if you could help in some way please add something to do so, I really miss my original acc, I wrote a story that got many views that I desperately want to continue, and another thing is that I can’t read offline without paying which I cannot afford, please fix it back to wear everything can be read offline, it hurts to not read my favorite books and I would have to choose which one to put offline😢other than that thing this app is the most amazing app ever! 💕📚

beta program. I have had Wattpad for years, it was one of the only reading apps that didn’t make you pay the absurd “coin” fee to unlock stories. Wattpad was a place where passionate writers could come to share their stories with a whole community of people. But now it’s slowly becoming like every other reading app where in order to read a decent story you have to pay. I understand that many of the writers spend hours everyday perfecting their chapters and they should be compensated for their work which was why I didn’t mind the ads that took place between chapters, I figured it’s a small price to pay to keep Wattpad free to read, obviously not. I believe that by Wattpad starting to charge coins to read stories it is taking away from what the app is supposed to be, a place for people to start out their writing career, then they could move on to publishing. I buy plenty of books on bookstore websites, where books have been professionally edited and revised because I know what I’m paying for, Wattpad is for beginning writers or ones who have it for a hobby. Wattpad wasn’t supposed to be the end goal but that’s what the app is moving towards. Many writers on the app who have taken part of this program have stated that they work hard and need this program, if you’re working that hard on a story then Wattpad isn’t the site to be publishing, don’t change Wattpad for what it is. This beta program is just a disappointment.

Deleted Chapters & Downgrades. Okay, so I’ve been using wattpad for a while. Writing and reading here and there. Recently I’m sure we are all aware of the little problems with the app and website here and there but I wasn’t particularly bothered UNTIL-I went on only minutes ago to discover that 4 of my chapters on the book I’ve been working on has been deleted as if it never existed it in the first place. It also says the last chapter I worked on was in December last year which baffled me because I literally did revisions over this past week. So now, hours and days of writing went down the drain. Thank you so much. Having been an avid reader and writer of the app for nearly 5 years now, I’m very disappointed at the changes Wattpad has gone through. While some changes were nice(paid stories to support upcoming writers), I missed the days when I wasn’t limited to only 2 books offline(for new users, you were able to have your entire library offline back than. The good old days). While I don’t understand the logistics and financial background of Wattpad, I find the premium membership as nothing but a cash grab. A disappointing downgrade to what the app used to be. I find a lot of writers moving away from Wattpad and even considered it so myself.

Amazing App!. I personally am a fan fiction writer and also a fan fiction reader if you catch my drift. And this app usually/normally is amazing for me to find new fan fiction books on when I’m in a certain mood to read them. It is an amazing app and even if you aren’t someone who likes fan fictions there are different kinds of story genres for you to look at and find books that you might enjoy in! I also love how most of these books are free and the only ones that really aren’t are the premium ones. I don’t really want to spend $20 dollars on a romance book when I can just open wattpad and find some that my friends have made or just some that I find interesting! I would totally recommend it. Moving onto the story making part. The story making part is quite amazing and as a former/current writer of wattpad I can definitely say that I would try to write a story on the app again! I prefer it way more over writing on pencil and considering that I can type quite fast it isn’t an exact problem for me! I definitely would recommend it for you none readers because not many people would judge you!

It’s gone downhill.... big time. I’ve had wattpad for almost 8 years now and it has gone so far downhill.... firstly, let me start by saying Wattpad doing this premium thing is ridiculous to me. I completely understand wanting to make some more money off the app by offering up options, but the way you went about it is wrong. $6 a month for ad free reading and the ability to change your wattpad theme??? Really??? You’re just trying to rip people off. And secondly, showing ads after every other chapter is ridiculous. When I’m reading a short story with short paragraphs I’m being forced to watch an ad after about 2 minutes of actual reading, or I force close the app and reopen it just to have to watch an ad right after that chapter. It’s annoying and honestly the app isn’t worth the trouble you’re putting people through. I’d seriously re-evaluate the direction you’re headed in because it’s not looking too hot. Coming from somebody who has had it for 7.5 years, the app really hasn’t had any SERIOUS IMPROVEMENTS from the time I got it, which isn’t good. Updates have always been dumb or irrelevant, changing things that don’t need changing. But I’m mostly giving 3 stars because of the constant advertisements

I love Wattpad but..... I absolutely love Wattpad and have read a lot of books in the year and a half I’ve been on there. My only issue is when I try to change my display name it asks for the password I’ve forgotten. But everything is fine right? I can just ask for an email to be sent to me so I can change my password...right? Wrong. No matter how many times I request for an email to be sent to me it is never sent. I send in a complaint about this a couple times to Wattpad help and nothing was done about it. Then, a couple weeks later, my storage is full and I have to delete a couple things, including Wattpad(I had forgotten about the incident with my password). When I clear out enough things to download Wattpad again I can’t sign back into my account as I was never able to recover nor change my password. So I have to make another account. Then I get locked out of my account. No worries though as I had saved my password. My password isn’t accepted. I request for an email to be sent to me so I can change my password. No email was sent. Again. I tried multiple times just like last time and no email was sent. I am now on my third account

A bit of a problem.. 😄Great app overall for reading, but the comments have a bit of a problem, due to a new update. When I scroll through the comments, and usually there are a lot of comments, the last comment to scroll down to usually has a reply or more. It's also hard to read the comment and to see if it has replies or not, since you can barely see it. So, I try to scroll farther down to click “Replies”, which goes back up when you try to scroll too far than it allows you to, but doesn't work. I would also like to point out that it also happens to other comments that have a lot of replies to them and the last reply doesn't show up, so I have to scroll down even more to read the last reply and it has the same situation for the scrolling down too far than it allows you too. I used to do it this way all the time, before the app was updated and I also use IOS. I try to flip the screen both ways, but it still doesn't work. I'd love to have this problem fixed, so I can read others comments and replies.

Best writing app, hands down.. When I originally began writing on my phone, I started out with this app called PocketWriters. It was highly impractical, and I soon noticed the community was switching over to Wattpad. I decided to give Wattpad a try myself, and I don’t even know where to begin. The layout of the app is so easy to navigate, and I love how it gives you recommendations based off of your searches! I also appreciate how easy Wattpad makes things for writers who are trying to get their names out there. The only thing I’d say about the app that needs fixing is adjusting the covers. It’s hard to get the cover put just how you like it, and I really thing there should be a way to look at what’s showing on the cover when making the draft, like how you can adjust your phone wallpaper. I really hope I’m making sense here. Anyways, other than that small flaw, this app is amazing! I most definitely recommend it if you enjoy writing. Personally, I write for fun, but I’d also like to possibly publish in the future. Having the community’s feedback is really helpful with learning what I should improve on. Please give this a shot if you haven’t already!

.... Isn’t it funny how you can spend a part of your life on a app, it turns its back on you throughout those years? I spent around 5 years on this app reading, escaping, crying, laughing, falling in and out of love with characters, then suddenly all of that happiness to escape to a world of books stop. Because the world keeps evolving, apps keep evolving and changing, and you can’t keep up with it. You either don’t have the phone to have a ‘normally’ advanced app. Or you either don’t have the WiFi, so you can’t read your favorite books. Or you just plain don’t have the money to afford a single thing on any of these apps. And those apps that you love, that were free (keyword being ‘were’) are no longer a app that you love and is free. I think people seem to forget about some of us that don’t have the money or right circumstance to have some these apps on here. It’s honestly depressing when something evolves into something bigger and ‘better’ they start to forget the smaller people. The smaller people that basically helped start them in the first place. In other words, Wattpad and all the other apps are obviously going to be a paid app one day, because who cares about the people that can’t afford a single penny for one app. Who cares that so many peoples escape to one measly app is going to completely blocked off to them one day? Thanks, you ruined my Xmas. Sincerely, Your disappointed dedicated follower

A REAL REVIEW. Wattpad is a great app that always undiscovered writers to kick off their career, if that’s what they are here for. It’s also great for those who are just writing for fun! For the reading portion, you will find some amazing books that honestly deserve to be on shelves. However, you will most likely come across books that are poorly written, but you probably already knew that; all the books on this app are written by amateurs after all and most people just write because they like writing. Now, onto the app it self. I gave the app only two stars because it glitchy and has MANY bugs. There are many things they have yet to work on and fix. I have trouble logging into my account and am currently trying to still get in. Their support group isn’t helpful at all. I’ve tried countless of times to get help since I have many projects and books on my account and can’t afford to lose them, but they haven’t helped me. I’m at the point where I want to give up and find a new reading and writing app. It’s as if my hard work went to waste and I’m mad at myself and the app! Once, wattpad actually comes together and stops playing around, I can assure you that the app would be amazing. Definitely 5 stars from me! All in all, the app is great but has many problems that need to be fixed and solved.

Activity Feed. I’ve been on Wattpad for several years and I have always come to find my Activity Feed very helpful in seeing where I have last left off on a book or where I left a particular comment. I can just scroll down to go back to where I was and reread that part of the story again. I’m not saying that you have to add the Activity Feed back the way it was, since people were put off by it. I am however asking to let us have the choice of putting our activity on our profile or hiding it. This option could be easily manageable in Settings like most things are, with a simple “Hide” or “Show” option, and you could even choose to let people hide certain things that they didn’t want shown in their Activity Feed. Personally I like having things out in the open; I feel like it connects me to other readers by letting them know what I like and what I comment on, but I know that a lot of people would prefer to keep what they read, whether it be kinky smut or cringy fanfic, out of the eyes of other readers. I just prefer this and I know that a lot of other people in the Wattpad community enjoyed this openness too. I hope that you will take this request into consideration.

Great app!!. I have been on this app for about 4-5 years. I first started to read on this app with I was 9-10 I’m now 13 and I still use it. I love this app al lot but the last update you added a new thing that you have an offline list I get it but I have over 1,000 or so story on my reading list. That I visit, I am in a lot of fandoms and I get into story so much I set my reading list OVER 1,000 like I said! But I wish that there would be an easier way to organize your books that you read. I know about the reading list but that takes a lot of work. I want to organize my reading list but it has gone VERY out of hand.. Other than that I overall happy with this app. I use to hate writing and reading a I had a BAD/LOW reading level.(which means I can only read on a certain grade level for an example 5th grade level) But after read for a WHOLE summer and a half my reading and my writing has got a lot better. Like I’m one of the highest level in my grade (8th grade, I read at a 11th grade now used to read at a 2th grade level in 5th... now that I say that that is bad...) Anyway I wanted to thank you for helping me with my reading a writing it means so much to me!!!

Yikes. Listen, I completely get that this app has been having authors be published and readers seeing their books on shelf’s of book stores or the author growing from this experience. But I’ve had this app since 6th grade and right now it’ll make it a whole 7 years of me being a user on the app and having it on my device, but I don’t have the money nor time to pay for a premium account. I am barely on the app now because of that because along with the spending money I can’t afford to be spending on an app to read, there’s also a whole attack of ads and the main ones are about upgrading to premium which is annoying. This use to be an app for readers like me in middle school to read and enjoy and just get a break from life as cringey as that sounds, it use to be an app I’d try to actually write stories on or what kickstarted my love for writing, this use to be an app that didn’t care much for money but cared more for the users who download the app. Again I fully get the ‘purpose’ of it but most of the people downloading this app are basically middle schoolers/younger teens that appreciate the simple tap of this app and getting to read so many pieces of art that the creators go out of their way to create. It’s aggravating I’m even writing this after seeing many reviews of glitches and crashes and the premium bs and cluster bomb of ads. It’s actually saddens yet comforts me to see that I’m not alone
