Best app!. I use my ballistic app almost daily. All my chronograph loads are compiled. For me this app is the very best. Highly recommend. Jack 2nd review. I have never had a lockup or failure of any kind. It's my constant partner at the range. When hunting, I keep it ready for use with the rangefinder. Jack

Best of show. First, those complaining about no upgrades don't have a clue what they're talking about. I have upgraded at least 5 times at no charge. They are continually improving this great program (for free). The other version of the program is really for a different use. (I don't know about you, but I hate reviews from people who don't read the app description and then give a bad review when it doesn't do what they THOUGHT it did.) If you're a hunter or typical target shooter THIS APP IS EXCELLENT! It has a HUGE library of factory ammo loads, not to mention the projectile library. I tested many types of ammo in my .270, and I've got several different loads saved reflecting the differences in point of impact. No matter which ammo I take with me I have a handy reference to it's down range performance.

Not cool.... This is a really nice app, and does a great job from a ballistic calculation perspective....but....honestly, the new "tactical" edition should have been part of a free upgrade for those who already paid for the original version. Making us pay again for a fresh new app is pretty lame. Nice app and well worth the money compared to other PDA apps (i.e.- non iPhone) but the developers strategy is a little shady...

Red filter!. I love this app! Both of my teams use it. But right now we are red Saran wrapping our phones so we don't kill our eyesight at night when using your app! If you added a simple button somewhere to select a red filter on the screen you would be a life saver! Thanks and keep up the good work!

Very handy App.. I found this app to be very useful when I was out hunting with an unfamiliar rifle over long distances. One thing that would be nice would be some basic ballistic charts for common military applications. Pre-loaded tables for an M16 shooting 62 gr ball would be great! Obviously you can't have everything in there, but the basics of M16 w/ 55,62,69,75 gr ball. M1/M1903 with M2 ball and match ball. And M14 would be a good start! Also, most .223 rifles are likely AR15's, which have a 2.5" sight base. When a .223 caliber is selected with a gov't profile bullet, perhaps make the default sight hight be 2.5" rather than 1.5"?

There are a few stupid people doing reviews. This program requires you know your bullet diameter and velocity. IT IS NOT CALIBER SPECIFIC. This is not a reloading program, it is an accuracy aid. Second, this program had an intro price if you didn't get it then to bad. If the author later wants to create a seperate version with additional features at a greater cost so be it. If you don't NEED the additional features, what are you whining about? It happens ALL the time with products. Get over it.

Awesome App. The developer has been more than helpful in listening to his users. We've given him a ton of feedback and requests. He's been able to update immediately making this app better. This app has helped come in 1st place, in matches held in locations I've never shot at.

Suggestion. I wish their was a way to save a few 'my rifle's' in the program, so that settings such as sight height, zero range, etc could be pulled up immediately, rather than re-entering the info for every new load that is tested. the program is very capable. much more so, I've found, than the one offered by knights armament. the database of factory loads alone gives it a significant edge, as well as several other important details I've missed in the knights armament app

Killer Application. This application keeps getting better and better with each update. The calculations are very accurate and the features of the program are plentiful. On a recent hunting trip to Utah for mule deer I got to practice some really long range shooting and it was dead on the money. I love going to the range or field and playing with this app. Keep up the great work and the tweaking of features. You have scored a hit and I recommend it to all my friends and enjoy showing it off when I shoot.

Corrected review - good working program. This is a follow-up to a previous review where I panned the program. After numerous emails back and forth with the developer we traced it back to a misunderstanding on my part regarding the instructions for input into the program. It was my understanding that changing the "Native " field for the drag model also changed the BC to the selected drag model - not so. Subsequently if you change the native model AND the current bullet use model, you will get erroneous results as the program will use the BC for the selected model but apply the BC to the drag model from the manufacturer (native drag model) which might be different. Apples and Oranges. My sincere apologies to the developer for the previous review. That being said, its a good overall program that agrees well with three other ballistics programs we use. I look forward to empirically testing it in the field.

Great App!. Does everything you need quickly and easily and allows you to store your trajectory charts. Good list of bullets (or enter your own detail ) and lots of flexibility. Good for everyone from pro long range shooter to a guy sighting in a deer rifle.

Nice, useful program. Once you under stand the user interface, there is a lot useful pictures that can be saved by using the Favorites command. You can start with basic trajectories and go all the way to very technical thousand yard shots.

Changed Review. I originally had this program a solid 5 stars. Then the author did the unthinkable. He created a NEW program which should have just been an upgrade and is charging twice as much for it. Completely lame. This is the same author who sold his original program based on very negative critism of another online ballistic program. News flash to this program author. At least the other program author is not trying to rip people off. What's the sense of buying a great program if the author is unscrupulous?

Awesome, couldn't ask for anything more accurate!. This app is outstanding. Tons of projectiles as well as factory loads to match every shooter's need. A buddy of mine was trying to hit some steel at 200yards with his 22, we punched in the data and he made the first shot going from a 50yard zero to 200 with a quick scope adjustment. One thing I would like to suggest is the addition of factory handgun loads and the ability to select the highest ballistic coefficient (or better yet, allow the user to provide a minimum BC) for a given diameter projectile. This way we can see which bullets are the most aerodynamic. Thanks for a great app!

Great app for the range. If you shoot, and like the science of ballistics, and use it to improve your understanding and performance, this is the app for you.

App works very well. I got a chance to go to the range today and verify the numbers in the ballistic charts. It all matched up. Very helpful to adjust zero's to different altitudes.

Works well, while you keep up w/ the latest phone / ios. I have been using this app for about 3 years. It has been extremely handy & helpful. I learned a lot about ballistics in general and its effect on my loads w/ different calibers. Unfortunately, because I don't buy the latest iphones and I choose to stay behind the high cost curve, I seem to be a victim of app failure. After a notification of an update, I followed suit and updated. The program now crashes upon attempt to open. There was no warning about incompatibility. I sent a message to the developers, requesting a link to the older version. They insist that they are "not allowed" to offer that, and that Apple "requires" them to only support the latest version of software. I personally doubt this is 100% accurate, since I have other apps that prevent me from updating, due to incompatibility. Nevertheless, this app was great while it lasted (for me). If they'd address this update issue, it would be worth the 5 stars. I am niw forced to look for another app.

Requires full name and email to use. Sorry, not going to provide my name and email when not part of necessary functionality of an app. Don’t trust most developers with personally identifying information. I’d prefer an anonymized Apple email / ID option.

Great Program!. Just like all the reviews before mine say, marksman enthusiasts have a great and cheap tool with this app. I see that some of the preprogrammed bullets have multi-BCs. Is it possible to create your own multi-BC bullets? Awesome program!

Simply the best option!. This is simply the best ballistic calculator for the iPhone. It actually is as good as the best apps for a desktop computer, and considerably cheaper. Also, author support is terrific. I had a problem with my iPhone's location services, and the author got right back to me and showed me where (in Preferences) to get it reset so that the app would read it. (the problem was with my phone and not his app). This is an A+ app.

Accurate. Of all the ballistic apps I have used, this is the most accurate. Disclosure: I am a programmer so I know rounding errors when I see them. This app is accurate. Well done.

Privacy insult. Had the app for years, and AFTERWARDS changes their policy and THEN requires name and email addy or he won’t let you use it. Absolutely no reason other than to sell the info. Go your app elsewhere, not from this person!

Jimjaw. Best app I have. Start shooting when I was nine, now sixty-nine, and still was puzzled about bullet performance. I always wondered why published data never matched real world results. A $100 ProChrono chronograph and this app really changed my outlook, expanded my knowledge and enjoyment of reloading and shooting.

Super helpful. Lots of caliber's lots of grains etc Really fun app and he visuals are excellent

Good Start!. This is an app with a lot of potential given the platform. I see there's a lot more coming as well. Suggestions: -Make the fields requiring numerical entry pop up the number keyboard instead of letters. -A way to email logs and targets for sharing and storage. -Display holdovers. -Plot holdovers/leads on crosshairs. -GPS integration for firing points/targets. -Chronograph log for tracking MV changes. -Ability to add photos to logs. -Ability to take photo and turn it into a range card and email it.

Very well thought out. This is very well put together. The newest update made it even better. need to add the option to use the distance feature with a MOA reticle instead of just mills. The last update proves that they must use this app or listen to the feedback. I am excited to see what this app has to offer in the future. Maybe using the camera with a reticle to look at a target to get your incline.

Simply the best. Great app at twice the price. Has more features than you can shoot at and a well thought out interface. Bravo

Support stinks. The calculations are spot on if you input your own weather data. The automated weather finder used to work until last fall and now won't work at all. I emailed the support staff over a month ago and they are aware of it but it doesn't look like they are going to fix it. Six months is plenty of time to fix a small bug in the system. And since incorrect weather data will throw the entire calculation off, it's pretty much useless u less you have some other source for weather data. Now that you have to pay for the app, I wouldn't buy it.

Some Troubles with the new version. I love this app. Extremely useful. BUT: I have had trouble with the new version: under iOS5.1.1 (iPad), I am unable to use the JBM computer. I have a message telling me to check my settings like maximum range. If I choose the "Ballistic" computer, it's fine. I checked all parameters and reset everything to factory standard. No succees. Under iOS 6.0 (iPhone), same problem PLUS a message box coming when I use the "ballistic" computer telling me that it cannot compute spin drift and coriolis. It is to be noted that the "chart" displays ok with the "JBM" computer but not the "table". An excellent app but the new version needs a little debugging. Still strongly recommend it.

Custom Projectile. The custom projectile function is incredible. As we create our new line of .308 JB's, this app hasn't failed us once. The ability to quickly compare our rounds to those currently on the market is extremely useful. Thanks, Z Force

The Black Sheep. This is an excellent app for Reloaders and Target shooters. It has a comprehensive projectile and factory load database. The controls are easy to use and almost everything can be customized. The range log is great for target logging. This app is severly limited for tactical and hunting use. The rangefinder only supports standard mil-dot reticles. The HUD does not display true click values, it adds a decimal place. If you are looking for a field ranging and solutions app there are better options out there.

Don't think twice. This app is an incredible value. Don't think twice about buying it. It uses the proven JBM computer for ballistic calculation and also provides numerous tools to aid in almost every aspect of shooting. This app is very well supported and always improving.

Absolutely spot on. I've used this program in shooting high power NRA matches. Once I get my velocities it's a snap to get my dope out to 1000 yards, which is as far as I shoot. I zero at either 100 or 200 yards, load all my data, and create a spreadsheet with the drops, windage, and clicks for the scope I'm using. I've never been off paper using numerous loads and numerous distances. Can't say all the programs I've tried have worked as well.

Was a very good app. Was a very good app. I had both the standard and paid. Did not use for a while. Went to the field and opened app. It wanted internet connection and email address stuff. BS. No thanks. I am in the field people no internet. Both versions have been deleted now.

Great App!!. I was VERY skeptical at first, mainly because of the price. I bought it and do not regret a single dollar spent. I have yet to take it to the range, but I've compared the outputs to my other ballistic calculators and everything is spot on. My only gripe which is not big at all, and maybe I just have yet to figure it out; is that for the range log, you cannot input the distance of your target, or zero range. When you come back to that particular log and check the target stats it just says 'unknown distance'. If in fact this is my own ignorance of me not figuring the app out, than please someone show me the light! haha. Seriously, great app, and I look forward to more from this very thorough author. Oh, and not many ballistic apps have 5.7mm, I just got a new optic for my P90 and needed some trajectory charts for the particular round I was using and sure enough, this app had it, BRAVO!!

Best on the market. This app might cost a little more but it's has all the things you need while shooting in one place. I reload and I can track loads, groups and ballistics in one place.

Worthy of every cent. Bought this app when it was way cheaper than what it is now. It's like buying stock in Microsoft when bill gates was still working outta his garage. Thanks for a great app!

Makes life easier. This app provides excellent starting points. Very simple to use

Ballistics. This program is a must have item at the range. It's bullet selection is huge, and includes current selections from Berger and many factory loads. Data is as accurate as JBM and you can take it with you in the field. Data entry is easy and complete. My data was accurate out to 1200 yards with a .308 Win.

Bugs and lack of updates, support requests. App is still buggy despite raising these issues with the developer. I am still having issues with 1. Exporting data via email. 2. Downloading current atmosphere. I'm not the only one. Requests for popular loads such as the Hornady Precision Hunter line and new Hornady ELD and ELD-X have yet to been added. "Obscure" requests like Australian Outback loads have been ignored. When all aspects work correctly it's a great solver, wish it was updated more frequently.

It's a hit!. Excellent program and an oustanding value. Provides the functionality of dedicated ballistics programs like Exbal at a fraction of the cost. Has an excellent library of bullets. If you can supply accurate muzzle velocities it will provide accurate trajectories and bullet drift data. Handles custom atmospheric conditions for improved accuracy. The only thing I could wish for is calculation of coriolis effect which ought to be easy to include given the iPhone's ability to locate itself, this requiring input only for bullet flight path compass heading. Overall, this is a great program.

Waste of money (in comparison). Now that there is the "tactical" version available, and the price went up onthis version, this one has become redundant, and far less of a value. For under 500 yards, where the details like atmosphere are less important, I would use iSnipe, as it is simple, and cheaper, but gets the job done for short/med ranges. This one has become a ripoff at it's new price, and having to buy a more expensive version with the same features AGAIN if you want an upgrade. Also, yoy cant zoom in on the charts (very small print/lines), you can't compare velocities or energy - only drop, and it resets to defaults and makes you re-find and re-enter everything everytime you close it. Hold out for iXbal! Note: for all those who compare this to the cost of a gun or ammo - with that argument, it should be in the hundreds of dollars, right? WRONG! It's a program with a simple premise that was created with certain intentions. Those were cast aside with total disdain for its users in the greed that followed. Now it's getting a bad rap. Fair enough. Remember - if you kill the golden goose, no more golden eggs. Screwing over the users out of greed is destined to kill the golden goose. I can no longer recommend the program on the basis of business ethics, and hopefully the money flow to the developer suffers accordingly.

Great App, all the bases covered!. This application is top-notch. This is the first app I've written a review for, so that should say something. The library of ballistic coefficients is amazing. That truly makes looking up BC's a piece of cake, and takes out the difficulty of calculating them. The sighting characteristics, such as sight height, angle, zero range...all worthwhile. The range log is an amazing feature too. But the best feature over other apps is the ability to use atmospheric conditions. I can't wait until the next update gets approved, so the atmospheric conditions can be retrieved from NOAA. It's such a great app. I'd like to be able to save the bullet spread on a target. Right now I can only save a score, but if I'm changing ammo or powder in a reload, I'd like to log how far the spread was on each target. That's about it! Everything else is being covered in the next release. There are other applications out there, and they even cost more. iSnipe, and BulletFlight. Unfortunately, iSnipe doesn't allow for atmospheric conditions and BulletFlight doesn't output a chart. It's very limited in it's function. This app is the most feature-rich ballistics calculator available for the iphone.

Needs a couple updates. Really is a great app, has everything you need, My one complaint is that is doesnt do a 1/10 MOA click for a scope. I own the new HORUS scope and it has a 1/10 MOA click, hoping the author will add it in the next update.

Edited: Poor Upgrade Policy (BEWARE). Those of us that paid for the original version of Ballistic were very disappointed that the author chose to create a separate versions of the same program requiring one to have to repurchase the program. The author is up to 3 versions of the same sofware all requiring a repurchase. Future upgrades to the program may require one to buy it again so if you buy today you may have to buy the next version just to get the updated features. Buyer beware. The program itself is ok but there are better titles out that guarantee free upgrades and have better customer support and features.

Was great, now wants unnecessary private info. Used this app for years and it was great for measuring groups and storing load data. Something most other apps don’t have. Then after an update it won’t let me access anything without first/last name and email address. There is NO reason for the app to need this info and it’s impossible to retrieve my stated target and load data without it. This app went from great to garbage in one update. Extremely disappointed. I hope they come to their senses and remove the requirement, until then I would avoid it.

Perfect. Stop complaining about such a small fee for such a great product. I am buying the tactical version as well. Have any of you bought ammunition lately? $10 is nothing. I will gladly pay the price and save money in the process. And yes this is a real customer. I show off this app all of the time to other serious shooters.

Great Application. I almost spent twice the amount on the competition until I sat down and compared features. Hands down, you can't beat this application for the cost; the only issue I have with it, was already sent off and I still would rate this app an easy 5 and they haven't even answered my question/request. Semper Fi

Fantastic Program. This is a great app to take to the range or field, keeps track of all of your different firearms and loads with the ability for real time corrections. Highly recommend!

Let us use meters instead of yards.. Title says it all. Having recently gone through us army sniper school i found the app comes up with the same hold overs as the ballistic calculator we used in school. Only thing was, we could choose to use it in yards or meters and from the get go we were taught it all in meters. Feels like using this there is just that added step now for converting the ranges we produce in meters to yards to get the proper hold over.

Fantastic. I have had this app for a few weeks and have been waiting for the .22LR Update. So this week I took it out for a test. Great GUI and easy to navigate around and use. It is a fantastic app that works extreamly well.

BJ McKay. Terrific App. Updating all the time.

Pretty Good App. This app has most of what you'd want from a ballistics program, just needs metric for wind speed (that's Km/h not M/h) and it's be close to perfect; maybe a trajectory graph as well.

Great App. I'm a feral pest contractor in Australia. Most of my shots are between 300 and 600 meters. This app make adjustments super quick especially when using new ammo.

Have to pay separately for iPad. Most apps are available on your iPhone and iPad. While you can use the iPhone version on half resolution you have to pay for the iPad version. For what it costs and the fact it's all available on the JBM website that's a disgrace. Additionally, rather than releasing a version with updated features, this app is demanding in-app purchases. Man up developer. Quit being greedy.

Excellent tool. This is an excellent tool for someone selecting a caliber for specific hunting / shooting scenarios. Excellent for comparisons.

So So.... This is app is only on version 1.0 and already is becoming bloatware... perhaps if you have hours to sit at the range and enter data endlessly, this is the app for you. Future updates look promising, but there seems to be no way to contact the developer of this app, either here on the iTunes Store or on his website (if you could call it that). I would check out other options personally.

Excellent starting point.. Very close to real-world conditions. After 600yards, there are variances of course, but you need to confirm your data anyways. I recommend this app for any shooter.

Quick, Clean, Accurate!. Spend about 5 minutes with the application and you'll have the hang of it. Spend 20 minutes and you'll have it mastered and will be able to dial in critically accurate shots. Trying different box ammo on the range, this is a great application to help you avoid wasting pricey ammo. It's hunting season soon and while at my range I volunteer my time to help 'sight-in' dozens of rifles. Each rifle owner brings his own ammo, which can be a nightmare. With Ballistic, I just punch up the load and I'm good to go. No need to re-enter all the weather and distance info, just enter it once, save it, then change the cartridge from rifle to rifle. Slick!! Excellent program. This just keeps getting better.

Great shooting app. Love this app! I collected some data on my bullet (fps) and plugged it into the app along with all the other info it needs and was able to make a 400 yard shot on the first shot

Kmafarms. Just installed ver 3.1 all problems for me created by last 2 updates are gone. Great program. Perfect for my needs. Would give it 5 stars but updates should not cause more problems than they solve

Thanks zipperpig. You should install that zipper on your mouth, and please leave it zipped.

Top Notch App!!!!. Communication with the creator is outstanding. Future updates look to be exceptional. Easy to use. Love the MIL's and MOA and the range book is great.

Best ballistic calculator for iOS. I have used several ballistic programs and this one is the best by far. Wish i could select reticle for my scope and build HUD custom to my reticle and Ballistics card.

Excellent program. Hey Nova, check the ballistic homepage. Cheapskates: maybe the developer should give you copies of his books or offer a free massage too. Gees. I did not know welfare cases could afford guns and iPhones.

Awesome. This software works great. I zeroed my 22lr cz-452 at 40 yards, put in my bullet info and dialed my scope for 200 yards from the info in the software. First round hit right on target. Great product.

Fmn. Meh.....Fair at best. No LOS vs true ballistic range. The 3 sec delay on shot angle does not work on my IPhone. Nothing special. Pricy for what it does.

Love it! Great app! Stop Whining!. LEO_Tactical and CttdFlyer: Quit whining and being so cheap. The author has every right to publish a "Pro" version if he wants to. A full tactical heads-up display was never listed as a feature, and the author's not obligated to give you something you didn't pay for. Do you ask for free government handouts too? Why don't you check his website out to read about why he did things the way he did: "The Field Tactical Edition of Ballistic was added as a new product recently to satisfy many requests for a special "Head-Up Display". Not everyone wants a HUD in their ballistics software, as it requires a special mount that is not even available yet; so I decided to release the HUD into a separate tactical version. Rather than charge everybody for this feature I thought it would be more appropriate to only charge the ones who would actually use it, and leave the standard edition cheaper for the rest. Unfortunately, Apple does not yet support the ability to upgrade from one product to another, and so if you bought the standard edition, you'll need to purchase the tactical edition separately. This is one of the reasons I kept the standard edition price so low through January (a mere $3.99) instead of charging the full price of $7.99, so that everyone who wanted the application now could get in at half price, in case they wanted to buy the new edition when it came out. I'm sorry if this upset some people, but I think this was the most fair way to handle versioning and provided a workaround for Apple's lack of an upgrade mechanism. I think I did right by the 99% who aren't paying for a feature they won't use, and by the 1% who are, and got the standard edition at a discount. Both versions are equally supported and linked to the same code base, so every line of code is identical between the two, with the exception of the HUD tab. Products having the same version number will be alike in all respects; the Field Tactical Edition will simply have an extra tab for the Head-up Display and a few extra settings to control it. Both are also on the same release cycle: whenever Apple approves them." Ballistic is a great tool for any shooter, and the tactical version is even better. I bought the standard version and then the tactical version when it came out. The only difference is the heads-up display in the tactical version. I bought this version when it first came out and don't remember the author promising a heads-up display, so what are you two whining about? It's called versioning, and everything you buy these days is versioned, from cars to versions of windows. If you wanted the Denali, you shouldn't have bought the Yukon instead. If you want the HUD, go buy the HUD edition. If you don't, save a few bucks and buy this one. I bought both versions and in both cases I got exactly what I agreed to pay for. It's also a great way to support the author, who isn't charging nearly enough for this great program. THIS IS A FANTASTIC PRODUCT with all of the features an expert shooter needs to make the shot. I do a lot of long-range shooting as far out as 1600 meters, and this app has so far been extremely accurate. I use the charts to compare loads when picking new ammunition and to show my students the differences in various loads. The new charts are GREAT! I can save huge versions of them to my desktop and use them in presentations. The Mil-Dot distance tool is excellent for range finding during competitions where we're shooting at small 6" pieces of cardboard at random ranges. I absolutely love Ballistic. Don't listen to the few whiners on here - they're just angry the author isn't handing out welfare. Both versions are well worth the money and I'd recommend them to the serious shooter.

Truing. Like the truing function. It would be nice if it let you measure in mills and not just inches. Would also like both transonic and subsonic marked on the range card. Would make truing more accurate. Would be nice to true for bc past subsonic.

Excellent tool for highpower competition.. I love the way this software shows the sensitivity to bullet drop with ease. I found the drop computations from the software correspond well with the notes in my scorebook for different range locations and atmospheric conditions. I expect it will be particularly useful for the 600 stage of no sighter EIC's where getting the zero right for that first shot is super critical. Windage in the current version is also very good. I can combine it with my wind meter and set up a table in no time. I believe it can be improved upon to make it a little more practical for slow prone stages. I'd like to see the ability to input the low, high and average wind speeds and see the three windage values in MOA, mils or clicks as desired side by side in a table. Then an additional ability to drill down to a matrix table for a given distance showing the windage for the three wind speeds for every 1/8 rotation around a circle. It would make it super easy to scan the data you need to work the wind rosette in your head when preparing to break the shots. That would be a killer app Mid and Long Range match tool. I see that displaying adjustments in clicks is coming. 1, 1/2 and 1/4 moa clicks would be the cat's meow for Service Rifle please. The use of the iPhone GPS location and atmospherics capture just blows me away. The amount of homework that will save when getting ready to compete at unfamiliar ranges is not to be underestimated. It will help level the playing field between visitors and shooters calling that range home. This application is definitely part of my 2009 season kit. Update: I realize programming the tactical pane took some work. Not really needed for competition. I'm content with this version. Besides, for real military use there are better tools. This is just an iPhone app.

Beats making range cards. Far and away my favorite pocket ballistic computer.

I love this app!. This is a great tool!

About time!. Updated review. This app is worth more than the cost of all versions combined. It's funny to read negative reviews on here on pricing issues. It's funny because the author didn't like what was available and made his own rather than bellyache about it. Not only does he make a vastly improved version, but makes it better than pro desktop and tac PDA versions I've used that cost exponentially more. He even listens to shooters on how to improve the app. For all the whinners, make your own or STFU. Now, a real review. This application allows you to take G1 bc's given by manufactures (most of which are already in the expansive library included in the app) and convert to more accurate (IMO) G7 tables. The multiple output choices let you select 1/8 clicks for benchrest scopes and 1/4 clicks for hunting. The new features are very usefull and thus far it has been spot on to 800 yards. The people who haven't had this success should really consider the following before writing bad reviews: Is your scope mounted and aligned correctly? Did you have any cant while shooting long distance? Is the internal mechanics of your scope working correctly? Do you use a chrono to measure a good statistical sample speed from the muzzle? And finally when you can't blame anything else, did you check the shooter? Flinch, wrong wind reading, mirage, heavy pull on the trigger (all of mine can be measured in ounces). Look up cats targets by horus. You'd be surprised what some scopes will do out of the box (even the high dollar "tactical" scopes from a company that makes mostly hunting scopes). If after all that the program gives you numbers that are way off (it hasn't for me) then write a bad review

Riflemans dream app. Well worth the money. If you roll your own loads and love rifles, this is a must have, great application.

Good app, no support for problems. Bought this app for the range log feature so I didn't have to keep paper around. Specifically, I liked the ability to plot target hits to compare different range sessions of the same rifle. Unfortunately, the app won't plot the data as shown and there is no support with which to inquire about the problem. I understand that this is just a guy that made this app to be available for other folks with the same interest, but there is a base level of expectation when paying for it that it will work. If it doesn't work, there should be some modicum of support or a user manual. If the function I bought the app for worked, I'd give it 4 stars. As is, it's no more than a trivia toy for ballistics to me. Update- after months of use, I find it's much more useful than I expected. However, I still have operational issues based on platform with the software. Plotting would be a logical feature, but these apple products are heavy on the wrapping, light on the contents. JBM has the best app available. Have upgraded to three stars that could be four easily if the iPhone did its part.

Incredible App!. Awesome job! This app is exactly what I have been looking for. It's easy to use yet powerful and comprehensive. I wouldn't change a thing!

Works fine. Took a 6.5 CM to an 850 us range nearby and tried my luck at 500-600/700-800-850. Rang the bell on every first shot using this software “come ups”. Made a lot of math easy.

Excellent. This app is simply FANTASTIC! It is totally and completely what a mobile shooting app should be. I would like to be able to change the output data with regards to what columns are shown and the order they are shown, other than that -- 5 star app. Thank you for this app! Darkphage

Need to add the velocity. y'all need to add the velocity of the bullets so we don't have to look them up

Totally awesome. I don't usually review apps, but this one works so well and has to be the coolest and most used app I have I had to. What else can I say - IT'S AWESOME!!!!

Ballistic. With previous update, could not access ballistic coefficient library. With the newest update( loaded today) when I try to input a bullet/ ballistic coefficient, the program crashes and reverts to my homescreen. Worked great ' til the last two updates.

Only one request. Cool app. so far. My biggest request would be to have the number pad (not the alpha pad) come up when inputing conditions.

Ballistic. Very nice and super easy!

Amazing App. I'm a police sniper and this is an excellent addition to my kit. Really valuable in training and while instructing others.

Great app for shooters!!. One of the best apps on my phone. Mot useful than you can ever imagine.

Love it! Great app! Stop Whining!. Jettubby and CttdFlyer: Quit whining like babies. The author has every right to publish a "Pro" version if he wants to. A full tactical heads-up display was never listed as a feature, and the author's not obligated to give you something you didn't pay for. Both are also on the same release cycle: whenever Apple approves them." Now to the few other people on here complaining that there is a new edition of this product: get over it. Ballistic is a great tool for any shooter, and the tactical version is even better. I bought the standard version and then the tactical version when it came out. The only difference is the heads-up display in the tactical version. I bought this version when it first came out and don't remember the author promising a heads-up display, so what are you all whining about? It's called versioning, and everything you buy these days is versioned, from cars to versions of windows. If you want the HUD, go buy the HUD edition. If you don't, save a few bucks and buy this one. I bought both versions and in both cases I got exactly what I agreed to pay for. This is a great product, with all of the features an expert shooter needs to make the shot. I do a lot of long-range shooting at mid-to-long range (600-1200 meters) and this app has so far been extremely accurate. Don't listen to the whiners on here - they're just angry the author isn't handing out welfare. Both versions are well worth the money and I'd recommend them to the serious shooter. Don't listen to the whiners on here. This is a great product and as long as you're not looking for a welfare handout, is well worth the money.

Great program. This is a great program ~ it computes data that is spot on out to 1000 yards for my rifle. I could not recommend this program more.

Ballistic. Top of the line

No longer compatible. The software was great before v2.5.0, now I cannot use the program on my unlocked iphone because it requires iOS 4.2 or greater. Thanks for the wonderful update.

Ballistic sticks in imperial. Liked the app and used it a lot at first. I frequently switched between metric and imperial distance units. Then the app got stuck in imperial. I don't want to loose my favorites so I haven't re-installed the app. Poor documentation and zero support.

Good but could be better. There is far more information than would be necessary for the average guy using this app for hunting (which I do). I recommend some type of advanced tab when/if someone (a mercenary sniper) wants the full option display. I have a hard time finding many of my ammunition listed and they are not one off companies. I have a hard time finding the actual hornaday ammo I buy in the app. I would love to see a more robust list of ammos.

Accurate and easy to use!. I used this during a basic precision rifle class and it was a great timesaver. The distance calculation made ranging unknown distance targets easy.

Handgun. Great app. Would like to see the addition of handgun hunting rounds such as .500S&W and .460S&W magnums.

Changed. Interesting app

Great!!. This app is awesome! I checked the calculations for my25-06 and they were almost exact to what was in my Barnes reloading book. I love the database for bullet types and grain. Great app!
