Simply doesn't work. Coordinates aren't close, elevation will show + or - 50'. The map is horrible. Find another app.

Never again. Who ever did this one should be hung. This did not even work. And then you can't have you cell on in the plane. Duh!

Not so bad, but.... The simplicity of this appealing, but the lack of a tracking function on the map is disappointing.

Don't get it. Might tell you where you are but does not tell you how to get where you're going, unbelievable this po crap is even listed with gps apps

payed for what i could have gotten free. I agree with the previous post about how to improve the app. I bought the app hoping I'd be able to type in gps coordinates and find a location. It is a bit helpful since it seems to update coordinates pretty quickly, but it'd be even more helpful with a compass or something so you don't have to aimlessly wander and watch the coordinates change. It's a nice app, but I sure wish I hadn't paid for it

Not what I expected. I read the info and thought this app allowed you to get a signal to use gps on your phone, apparently not!

Should have listened.... Two of three "maps" are blank (unavailable?). The rest works as displayed. Hey, it's a PoS, but it was only $.99, and I SHOULD have heeded the bad reviews.

Simple but great. I love this app. The screen is easy to read and gives you the vital gps and altitude information. KISS keep it simple stupid and they did a great job.

Definatly the worst. OMG! Who (besides angelina jolie, for her idiotic tattoos) wants to know their latitude and longitude??? That's it??? Oh wait there's more! An inaccurate speedometer...thanks. I can afford an iPhone but I can't afford to repair the speedo in my '75 chevy van...this will be perfect for that.

useless. Not what I expected from the advertizement.Could not locate anything.The long.and lat.was useless.This app is complete waste of money and should be removed or free so other customers are not robbed of their money and can find out "free" that this GPS app is useless.

Needs coordinate format selector (and a decent typeface). This app would be better if: - the user could select the coordinate system on the fly, by tapping the Coordinates window, thereby bringing up a selector wheel with various formats, e.g., decimal degrees, hour/minute/second, MLS grid square, etc. - there were a preference setting to make recording of history optional. - the "Sleeping" preference were named something more descriptive; perhaps "Sleep Disable" would be more clear. - it said "Satellite Signal Not Received," rather than displaying inaccurate coordinates. And PLEEEEZE... lose the serif typeface; it belongs on a 19th century typewriter, not in an iPhone app.

Exactly as described.. This app is not to show maps or give directions. It is to give coordinates, elevation etc. and does it well.

Confused. I like the app. Works as described, but I do wonder why a straight GPS app needs full internet access to function... One thing: can the developer or anyone guess as to why the phone screen goes black when attempting to put it into a waterproof case. Happens only with this app... No response from the developer on anything. That’s the reason for the rating.

Scam. I bought this app, it does not give any directions it just tells you where you are, dohhhh, the developer does not even have an email address to contact.

Mr. I am very happy with this app. I always read negative reviews before positive ones when I buy something to compare the complaints against the praises. I agree this is not a direction finder as much as a historian - I use it to keep track of my walks and give me a record at the end. If I could suggest one improvement it would be to have a trail line follow me on the map, but that's a minor thing. Fun app!

Horrible!. This does nothing I need it to do! Does not give directions... Do not download!

App works fine, but could use some updates. This app has a few quirks (such as OpenCycle maps no longer loading, but there are alternatives in the app) and could use an update for things like retina graphics and more recent SDK technologies. But it largely works as advertised and has functional features and settings.

Scam scam sc. This is a completely useless application that isn't a "GPS" just like all other Americans they don't care about anyone but them self they just want money. They don't care If you find your way.

Requires wifi. This app is a scam for ipod users. If you dont jave internet, it doesnt work. PLEASE TELL PEOPLE THAT.

King. Piece of junk, ad shows a nice graphic however actual display is plain txt. MPH does not work so slow and inaccurate.

Works Exactly As Advertised. I was looking for an app that would provide me with an aggregate of the GPS data, especially altitude (which Compass doesn't show). This gives exactly that, and a little bit more. Only reason I can see for reviewers giving this a 1-star rating is consumer confusion, as GPS has become a generic term associated with software that provides directions.

Does what is says. Great - just the simple information I was looking for. Impressed with the topo maps as well as an extra. Any chance of getting a "red" display for night vision use?

Very good basic GPS. If you are unable to read, perhaps do not buy this app. It is not a navigation system with turn by turn instructions. Amazing that some fools have complained it doesn't work in their reviews because they cannot find how to get it to tell them where to go... Please learn to read the app description first! Anyway, for a GPS that gives you your location, speed, course, and allows you to overlay onto free maps - this does the job. Frankly, the speed calculation on an iPhone4 is not good. It worked well in my iPhone3, so hopefully that is a bug to be sorted out. Variance of 15kmh every few seconds when the cruise control is on is not a good sign. Sometimes you will wait 10 minutes for a position fix, but at those times other devices are struggling for a fix, so probably not app based issue. It would be nice if the developers thought a bit more about what a basic gps user might want and added those features... Not turn by turn, but waypoints and other typical outdoors type use...the things people buy a basic GPS for... Maybe also access to better maps... For the price - a good app.

Perfect. Does what I need simply and without fuss

Too basic to be useful.. No ability to enter & navigate to a co-ordinate? Really? Don't pay for this app. Basic apps are fair enough, but this level of functionality should be free.

Great App. Really liked your app. Does exactly as expected. I would like to see a box where you could type some notes and another button to save that note with the gps coordinates as a picture. That way you can save location details. Cheers.

Simple, accurate GPS.. This app is great. I use it for my field studies for geology at uni. It works really well. Saves a lot of money over buying a GPS. Ignore reviews saying it doesn't work, those people obviously don't know what a GPS is.

rubbish. simply does not work

Agree it does what it says, but.... 1. It would be better if one could choose the projection (eg UTM), since this could become a useful alternative to buying a standard GPS. It would also enable one to have readings that were compatible with other GPS' working on the same project. 2. It would be nice if one could substitute other maps for the one that is built in. 3. Me McRae acknowledges open-source contributors. It is a shame therefore that he does not have a facility for feedback, which can provide another mode for public contributions.

Great app. A simple easy to read and understand app. I travel around by car everyday and I use it as a speedo and it gives me all the basic info I need. The black & white graphics are very easy to see at a glance. Couldn't ask for a more simple GPS than this. To the guys out there who have complained that they can't find where to input an address so it tells them where to go ! READ THE DETAILS BEFORE YOU DOWN LOAD THE APP TO SAVE YOU THE TROUBLE.

Horrible. I want a refound

Trouble with the screen refresh. When we move the map, the map isn't refresh completely. This make the application unusable. 0 stars

handy, clean, and free. use it often, the maps are a nice compliment to google map, and no adds, it's pretty darn good - maybe integrate compass headings next

TERRIBLE. negative 5 stars if possible the map doesnt work, it wont show my location they just show me gray lines sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo terrible plus i need to be going like 30 kph before they even register it please fix the map part most importantly because id like to get my moneys worth
