I use this app frequently. Every time I’m ready to make cocktails, this app is open. It’s easy and straightforward. One problem I have is inconsistency. The user might not need to edit a recipe, but at least add a comment section. Some of the recipes are probably better than expected but someone entirely lazy posted it. “Pour ingredients in a glass, nothing fancy required”, do we mix it? Not mix it? Another inconsistency, the ingredients themselves. As you go through ingredients, you find stupid mistakes. For example right under Whiskey is Whisky. It’s not a bad app and I use it all the time but I wish it were much much better.

Not bad. App is comprehensive, but it seems like different people upload info, leading to some recipes saying, literally, "Rum, Gin, Tequila, Grenadine", and for the instructions, "Mix and enjoy". Which, as a bartender, is not really helpful. Other recipes list the amounts in ounces (most useful) and others in parts (useful, but less so). Anyway, not bad for a quick reminder of what's in a drink but definitely needs refining.

Good in theory some flaws. Updating again with two suggestions for enhancement: 1) allow for two types of flagging - one to mark true favorites and one to mark things to try later. 2) allow user to add notes to recipes. Thanks. ---------------- Updated review. Still use the app along with a second one that has different shortcomings, even though my previously noted flaw hasn't been fixed. Between the two I can usually accomplish what I want. Another thing that could be improved is the search function. For instance, if I search for "Rob Roy" it returns one recipe for "Rob Roy" whereas the other app returns "Rob Roy", "Perfect Rob Roy", and "Dry Rob Roy". The broader search is much more helpful. I love the way this app is laid out but when I select the 'Ingredients' tab, then choose multiple ingredients and the option only to give me recipes that include ALL ingredients, the search returns many recipes that only have one of the required ingredients, which pretty much defeats the purpose of that option. That was one of the reasons for wanting to use this sort of app. Please fix! Thanks.

Don’t click continue at end of tutorial or you’ll pay. First, its pretty deceptive at the end of their so called tutorial because there IS no tutorial. Then if you touch continue you’ve automatically enrolled in a free 3 day trial that quickly jumps to $4.99 p/mo. I know the onus’s on us but it should not be there in the first place Next: try and figure out how to make drinks from your own listed ingredients which is why I got the app in the first place. Never found out how to do it. Last: I’m not impressed with the app regardless of the deception and the ingredient matching.

It asked me to review this within the first 10 seconds.. Here’s my review of begged for. It’s garbage. You can’t get into the actual app until you put your credit card info in, whether it’s for the 7 day free trial you ultimately have to cancel, or for the ridiculous monthly price. The fact you can compile a bunch of info from google, then proceed to charge people a monthly fee for it is hilarious. If you pay for this, you’re a fool. Just bookmark some drink site and put it on your home screen. I just saved you money and time. If this all it takes to make an app, think it’s time to quit my job.

Why didn't I find this app sooner. I've been using a different and more inferior cocktail app and I'm glad I found this one. It has everything and does everything a home 'tender could need.

Keep your finger off the fingerprint reader.... This has always been a nice simple app, with a handful of key recipes, which is why I used it on a semi regular basis. No muss-No fuss. However, they have added new content, a few (??) new recipes, and many other optional features. Of course you don’t need to access any of this extra stuff to “use the app“, and you still get a fair amount of free recipes, but quite a number of recipes are now locked and require you to watch some advertising or do something else to gain access to them. A handful of my favorite recipes are now locked. And DEFINITELY watch out when you login the first time. The advertising to try to get you to spend $$ on a subscription is so hard to close, my iPhone tried to charge me twice because I didn’t hit the X “just right“. If my thumb had been on the fingerprint reader, I would have been stuck with a big old charge. I support the developers right to do anything they want with their app, but I’m not impressed with the amazing amount of new advertising, which in itself always makes me suspicious of ad tracking, etc. I think it’s time to delete this and move on.

Crash problems in latest version. Trying to search for ‘sex on the beach’ crashes when you type ‘sex on the b’ and searching for ‘slippery nipple’ crashes when you type ‘slippery n’. Has been a fairly good app over the last few years, but latest crash problems are making me wonder if I should even keep it. I can take a lot but not crashing and closing the app with no warning.

Great assortment. There's definitely enough options to choose from and try. From cheap drinks to fancy drinks, you'll be able to spend your whole paycheck on liquor now!

Drinks were helpful extras were not. Straight up the recipe access was nice. I deleted this app because I get notifications with quotes. Then while trying to turn them off I got lost in wallpaper options. So is this a bartending app, a motivational app, or a wallpaper app.

Okay. Downloaded for inspiration while on vacation. Have a finite supply of ingredients and too lazy to think of drinks ourselves. App made a few suggestions but failed to list some basic ones (other than rum and coke) which leads me to believe there are many more it's not capturing. Perhaps more recipes are in development?

The right drink at the right time. Very happy with the plethora of drinks offered in this app seem to be able to handle my every need at the last couple parties I was at thanks again

Recipes are great but.... When I use the search feature, it closes the app when I try to put in the second word. Very annoying. Also, when this app first came out, there was a Dias version. I paid for that version. I changed phones and for some reason it did not transfer and now there does not seem to be a paid version or no way to restore previous purchases. That’s why only a three.

Helpful & Fun. It's easy to use, and the Random option is so much fun! I've been able to look up many drink recipes, even some that I thought would never be listed (like a Painkiller- famous in the BVI). Highly recommend for bartenders-in-training and "seasoned professionals"!

Careful or pay. It has been a while since I last used this app which was handy in the past. Today I when I launched it there was a series of messages with a big Continue button. The last one was a subscription plan but the layout was such that it looked like continue was the only choice and you were not subscribing. I was wrong it immediately tried to start a subscription. The way to close it without subscribing is a small x in the upper left. It is purposely not obvious which is poor customer service.

Awesome. You can search for drinks that you only have ingredients for. If you check all the ingredients you personally have at home, you can search for recipes that only have those items in it.

Freemium Bullcr*p. So I used to love this app and used it all the time! It was great. I had access t hundreds, if not thousands of drinks! Then it updates and I open the app and most of the drinks I look up are locked. To go from free to premium like that is horrible, and not a one-time pay, but a subscription for $50 a year! No thanks, google is free and doesn’t shove ads in my face that block my screen. Immediate uninstall after their Premium update.

It keeps crashing!!!. As soon as I typed in Moscow Mule in the search box, first of all, they didn’t have the drink’s recipe, second, it crashes and closes the app before you even finish typing!!!

Taking money when it used to be free. This app is great and has an enormous amount of recipes in it however it used to be free to look at everything on the app. The app is now changed it to a subscription based app. So now in order to view some recipes that I had already previously favorited I need to pay to look at. I don’t know when that changes this because I haven’t used it for awhile but this isn’t the same app that I used to love.

Better than other mix apps. I've used other apps and find this one to be much easier to use, more versatile, and filters more options with selected ingredients.

Good app. The app is pretty good and run smooth on my Iphone6Splus! It will be perfect if they show the pictures of the drinks so people can have ideas how the drinks look like! Other than that there is no complain about it!

Great App!. If you have trouble remembering how to make certain mixed drinks or trying to figure out what you can throw together with this that and the other than get this app! So easy to use as well:).

Content locked in newer app versions (that previously wasn’t). I’ve had this app for at least five years and when I got a new phone the newer version must have been downloaded that now locks certain drinks and other content behind a subscription/ad barrier. I’ll just use other sources for drink recipes that don’t involve watching ads or paying a subscription fee. This app was truly and completely free for the longest time ever....

From Tiki to Trouble this app has it all!. Pretty much any drink you've ever heard of is in here- simply hand the phone over to your bartender and watch the magic happen! Perfect after a few. Thank you! My heros!

Easy to use. I like the function where you can type in whatever you have for alcohol and the app will give you whatever drink that has that alcohol in it.

Bartender in training. Really, I am! This app is great to have by my side while I am thinking about drinks to create and those to memorize. Despite other reviews, I found that scrolling down helps you see all the ingredients listed (old school style app). Been using this to study and to get ideas for cocktails and fun shots to serve at work ;)

Neat concept but junk app. I was inventorying my ingredients when the app flipped into meaningless advertising screens with blonde girls. I was unable to get back to do anything further with the inventory. The app screens are way over blinged to the point it’s irritating to read. I was looking for useful but found broken app that the developers spent too much time coloring and not enough time testing. Removed the app. Don’t waste your time or money. This app is garbage.

BOMB!. My parents and I have a Mexican restaurant and recently added a bar, since I am new to bartending this app makes life so much easier!!! I totally recommend it, my customers LOVE the random shake for a drink, they get so hype off it, love it😃

More money?!. Don’t know how to contact developers. Searched and searched. Already paid. Was suppose to make adds disappear, that never happened as a bartender when you need to find a recipe in a busy bar no time for adds or slow loading. Which this app can be slow. Now some new update wants me to pay again and has locked out some of my favorites. No email no update just opened app one day with changes made and demanding I pay again!!! Will be deleting this app. And finding an alternative.

Klunky but best for the price. Like most free drink sites, this app is pretty klunky with duplicate recipes that vary only in bourbon versus whiskey or something like that. Also, the interface is kind of klunky. That said, it’s got a really comprehensive list of ingredients and drinks, and is worth checking out.

Beware, app converted to scam. App blatently attempts to trick you into a subscription by making it look like you press 'Continue' after reading help screens when you first open the app... shame on them, BOO! This app has been around forever and it WAS a great 5* app, older reviews reflect that. Now, if you manage to get into the app without being tricked into unintentionally entering a subscription you will find much of the content, including favorites you have marked over the years, is locked and can no longer be viewed without either watching video ads or signing up for a subscription.

Disappointed. This was one of the first apps I ever downloaded and the longest lasting in my inventory. I used to love it. Even when the ads were introduced, I understood. However, after a recent update, many of the recipes I had marked as “favorite” are now locked and requiring me to watch a video or buy a subscription to see a recipe I’ve probably used hundreds of times. This, I cannot understand and am now looking for a replacement, even if it’s a quick Google search that provides several options, each with its own review. As a very long time user, this is extremely disappointing.

You used to be a 5Star. I used to enjoy your high quality and used you all the time to look up drinks & figure new ones from ingredients. Now I find I can not type more than 9 characters in a search string. Or else your app crashes. Not that useful anymore. Sad. :(

Love this app. Love this app. Always there when you need it, but many drinks need to be added since sometimes looking for the correct amounts of each item in a drink, the drink name or the liquor is not listed to complete it. Updates needed badly to accommodate new drink titles and liquors dold in stores.

Best app in 7 years. It is difficult I will soon see something is better than this app, in the last 7 years I have seen great products and this one is so incredible I can't believe so much awesomeness

Helps figure out what I can make. This app is generally good for identifying what you can make out of the ingredients you have and it provides both ingredients and instructions. Sometimes it's a little tricky to find ingredients, though, since the search has to match the beginning of the word. For example, if you search for creme you won't find creme de menthe because it's listed as "white creme de menthe". That's a minor inconvenience, though, once you figure out the exceptions like that.

New features would make this app perfect. Pros: There’s definitely a lot of drink recipes in this app! Several different recipes for some drinks as well because everyone makes the same drink different ways :) It’s easy to search and find drinks. Could be improved: Allowing users to change the ingredients or edit the instructions would be very helpful. As I said above, every bar makes their drinks differently and being able to edit recipes would be great!

Good, just needs a little work. So far I like it but the search function could use some work. For instance, when I search for a mule, I only get one result. It isn't finding the other recipes that have the word mule in it. Seems like an easy enough fix so hopefully it'll happen in an update. In the meantime I'm finding several that I hadn't heard of before but sound good!

App issue.. Sadly the app on my phone hasn't been working right.. every time I try to search for something it would shuts off.. anybody else experiencing this issue..? I have a brand new iPhone 7 so I don't think it's my phone. If there's an issue with the app I hope they fix it soon :/ because I absolutely love this app!

Crashes every time I try to use it. When I first started using this, it worked and I had no issues. But then about six months ago, every time I tried to search for a drink or recipe, it would crash. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it, and I’m still having the same issues. Before writing this review, I tried to email support, but it wasn’t a valid email. Please fix this, it’s very annoying and I’ve had to download other apps that don’t crash.

Two thumbs up!. Use the app all the time for those random drinks customers ask for. I can search them up very quickly and easily! One thing that can improve is the random crashes that happen sometime, other than that 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Liquor Illiterate. This app is great! I am not a drinker and know very little about alcohol. My 26 year old son knows more than me. But I recently stocked my bar and needed help with mixing drinks. This app is user friendly plus allows me to mark my favorites! Excellent app and I would recommend it for people like me.

Straight-up useful. UI isn’t that pretty and is slightly clunky, and the units change according to the drink recipe (some are in oz, some are in parts, some in cL, some have a combination of multiple). But the app works very well, it even will tell you what drinks you can make with the ingredients you have. TL:DR UI has some questionable design choices, but not bad enough to lose more than one star, and the app works very well.

They lie. I downloaded this app about 4 years ago. At that time it was a free app. Enjoyed using it to try new drinks, always good recipes. About 1 year ago there suddenly were some drinks that were locked and you had to watch an ad or pay to see the recipe. This week you have to subscribe to see anything on this app. Same recipes but no longer available to users under the previous terms. Drinks Free is not free!! What a lie.

Outstanding. This app is wonderful. Very user friendly. The categorization makes it easy to find what I am looking for at the moment. This is easily the largest list of recipes of any app. Once you download this app, there's really no need to get any other of this kind...unless you don't value your GB 😊

Not great. I really don't understand all of the great reviews. I find that quite a few recipes, probably like more than 10% of those I've viewed, are missing ingredients. There will be an ingredient mentioned in the description that is not listed on the ingredients list, or the mixing instructions will specify an ingredient not listed - which means that you have no quantity specified for that ingredient. I like how the app is designed, just wish that the above flaw wasn't there.

What part is free?. I was going to use this since it says it’s free so I downloaded it. When I opened it there were pages telling me about all the great features but I couldn’t get beyond the page that required a paid subscription. Seriously? $7.99 a month to use an app that is supposedly free? There’s nothing that turns me off more to an app than a misleading description. Except maybe an absurd monthly fee.

Wrong ingredients. I’m a bartender, and I thought this app was PERFECT for me to use at work, until I saw the ingredients for an old fashion (butters, bourbon, and 7-UP?!?!). Then I looked up a Moscow mule, and it said vodka, lime juice and gingerALE…….really? Not gingerBEER? I was about to make this app my go-to for drink recipes at work until I realized I can’t trust anything it tells me…would be absolutely perfect if only they had the correct drink recipes

Easy to Use with lots of options. This app is easy to learn, simple to use, and has a lot of different options. I don't much about alcohol but this gives me understandable instructions to follow.

Multiple years user. I have had this app for a few years. It has been my go to for recipes forgotten or new to explore. I would give it five stars if I could save my recipes too. Heck they could add them to the database.

A$7.50 PER MONTH??. Have had this app for years. From time to time it crashed, but for free, that’s acceptable. After the most recent update I got rid of it, because you need to pay A$7.50 per month to be able to see locked recipes!! Definitely not worth $90 per year when I can buy a book for A$20 & have it permanently.

Only drawback is that the measuremnts are not in metric, but then how hard can it be to figure out that 1 oz is one shot? And it's free. Go you good thing.

Gr8 App. Excellent App. Would be great to add two additional functions - 1. Ability to change metrics (mls etc), & 2. Ingredient description or explanation (for international users who might not refer to ingredients the same way or have a particular brand in their country).

Ruined by third party advertising. Was good but now unusable.

Best bar time fun ever!. Just recently discovered a new bar, and after going through the cocktails menu 5 or 6 times, asked the bartender if they do custom drinks, so I have the app a quick shake on random mode, and have been having the best drinks ever! Plus we keep making our Princess of Mixing happy. :)

‘Ingredients’ tab not working. Unable to get the ingredients tab to work on my ipad. Email address for web support doesn’t work. 🤔

Good resource. Got this to work for 2 minutes before crashing. Maybe i'm lucky cause i haven't got firmware 2.2. Incredible number of recipes and variations of them. Crashing could be fixed by a future update for 2.1.1 and 2.2 firmware. Can see potential for this app.

bad reviews. Hah it's one of those please write a review as long as it is nice. I have tried twice before this with a poor star rating and my review was lost. Mysterious isn't it! This use to be a fun app but the new version has lost the recipe lines. Now it is useless.

Smooth, easy to use & helpful. I've had no crashing issues and I've got latest firmware. App works great and has been used quite a few times at Friday night drinks after work when we wanna try something new. Really great potential with this app. Keep up the good work!

ok for recipes but search is useless. has loads of drinks recipes but the search part is not working real well, it includes in the results all the drinks which have one of the ingredients you have but will still need more ingredients to make the drink. very frustrating when you include vodka in your list as you get thousands of cocktails using it. It should only bring up results which you actually have the all the ingredients for. Also don't put in Baileys Irish Cream in your ingredients as it causes the app to produce zero results - even if you just put baileys and butterscotch snapps in it still brings zero results Three stars for the recipes but needs the search fixed

SGL. Works under 2.2 Seems reasonable app- looking forward to further upgrades. Definitely needs the option to mark current inventory and see what recipies are still available. Metric would be nice but isn't a show stopper

Great app. As said below you should be able to search for ingrediants and any word in the name of the drink not just what it starts with. Doesn't everyone know to restart their iPod after installing an app, nothing ever crashes for me anymore.....

Cocktails Galore. Has a pretty large list of cocktails. Looking forward to trying many. I only just started using this app so I don't know if it has a feature where you can save your own recipes. I really hope it does, but even without it, this a really great app. The layout is easy on the eye, adding and removing drinks from the favourite list is so simple and fast. Thanks for this app!

Terrible. The app was totally trashed in the upgrade. $7.50 per month!! Not a chance.

Fraudulent. Stay away from this app! It is called drinks free, but suddenly it isn’t free. I went to get a cocktail ready, opened it up. Then it was suddenly locked. A button appeared to reveal the recipe. The next thing I saw was a receipt for my payment. Deleting it right away Disgusted!

Handy Pocket Barman. I downloaded this app to help with a cocktail party. I love that I can look recipes up just by using the ingredients in my bar. It also tells me how I can make some liqueurs! This app will be so handy when I am out shopping for the bar.

Fantastic. It never crashes for me with 2.2 but I think it's great would be 5 star if you could change to metric please I'm in aus and I'd even give it 10 if it could be metric

Great app. This is a great application to have. Everything is perfect, however I think some slight improvements need to be made in the ingredients menu. It is difficult to add ingredients, and it takes ages to scroll through all the alcohol types. If this was made to be like scrolling through the iPhone contact list, then it would be perfect. Also some of the instructions are difficult to understand, as they're not explained too well.

Bar Wenches friend. This app is perfect. Every time I get a random shot request at work, I can actually make them now (provided the ingredients are available).

IT DOES WORK ON 2.2. Just an extra bit here, it DOES work on 2.2. Those of you who say it doesn't, it's not completely true. I have 2.2 and it works. It just seems really tempermental with certain phones. Try deleting it then reloading it, on a wifi connection so it doesn't use your data. Instead of just pushing it back and not recommending it.

Good but could be better. I love it if you had pictures of the cocktails. That would own! Also as has been pointed out. The drink categories all contain the same drinks. One more feature which would be really great is a description of the differeent drinks. Even if it is just a link to the wikipedia page or something. For example I wasn't quite sure what amaretto was. Anyways, all that aside. Very cool or a free app. I love cocktails so this is a great tool to have around. Look forward to see if the updates contain my suggestions.
