Really useful app for enjoying the night sky. I highly recommend giving this app a try for hours of entertainment identifying stars, constellations, and objects in the night sky. It’s easy to use with intuitive functions. The information links bring the planets and Celestial events to life with fascinating knowledge. Once you become comfortable using the basics try all the features and you will be very satisfied with this very cool useful tool.

Too difficult to read. Maybe it’s a bad setting or something but I find the data in the app very hard to read. When I first got the app several years ago it was fine but it keeps getting “prettier” and less useful. For one thing, object labels are missing if they are near the edge of the screen. As you get them closer to the center their labels show up as an unreadable gray. Finally, when they are almost in the center they are in a tiny but somewhat readable white font. Why aren’t they white all the time? If you’re using the app to try and find something you have to center the thing first. That’s hard to do if you don’t know where it is. Another hard thing to see is the horizon. It’s very subtly darker than the sky. Why not make it better defined? The planets are hard to find too. The pretty icons on the map can help but the red text is too dark against the black background. Things near the galactic equator are hard because the Milky Way image is much too bright. Finally, the new moon is shown as black. OK, it really is but if you’re trying to find it, good luck. If you center where this invisible object is, of course, then you may be able to spot the tiny white label. It would hurt the prettiness, I guess, but I’d love to see a white outline on it. Finally, this is the slowest app I have when I start it. It has pretty little animations of its name for a good 10 seconds. I didn’t get it for that. Basically it sacrifices utility for aesthetics.

Great app with one BAD FEATURE. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful app - until you try to exit the app (at least on an iPhone 13). When you want your phone back? Good luck. Exiting is not intuitive, and judging by Google results I'm most certainly not the only person who is frustrated by this. It is a superb, wonderful, interactive, amazing app - and all of that warm fuzziness goes away when you try and reclaim your device. To be fair, I have not had this issue until I went to an iPhone 13 - but it is driving me up a tree.

Such an amazing app!. I originally used this app years ago. I redownload from time to time (for storage space reason) and every time I am blown away with how well kept and fluent the interface is. I never write reviews but this team deserves a shout out. Well done!

Do Not Buy SW 2. Star Walk is hands down one of the most fun apps out there. I am sad I wasted my money upgrading to SW2. The new version withdrew satellites and a number of other features only to request more money for viewing. I would have happily paid upfront $5, if the app makers had been forthcoming of the removal of original information/features.

Top 3 apps on my phone. I love this app. It’s my go to when I’m trying to point out objects in the sky to my daughter but I’m not entirely sure which object I’m looking at. The app does way more than what I use it for but the features I use are well worth whatever I paid for the app. Absolutely perfect rating.

Cool app but freezes constantly. I’ve had this app for a few years on iPhone 5, 6 and X and the app has always locked up soon as the screen is touched. Once I touch the screen it will no longer track the sky, just a stuck image that I can move with my finger which isn’t very helpful learning the sky. I like the app but very annoyed that I can’t use it to its potential. Am I the only user who has had this issue? 3 phones, few years and updates and still same problem

Ads every two seconds ruin vision. I tried the app but I couldn’t even evaluate it to see if I wanted to try a premium version because a bright white ad pops up quite literally every couple of seconds. The ads are so bright that they ruin your night vision and stargazing becomes impossible. Using the app for two seconds then waiting for a long ad is absurd, but having them ruin your vision for stargazing is even more absurd. Edit after developer response: The content of the ads is not what is unacceptable. Your placing a bright ad every two seconds is. Google is not at fault; you are.

Ads. So many ads... I have paid for Star Walk twice. Once for the original app and again for Star Walk 2. I cannot tell you how much enjoyment I have gotten from Star Walk over the years. When Star Walk went to subscription based, I just gave it up. This is a luxury I can’t afford. I started to use the app very occasionally, maybe once or twice a year. The features would change or get updated, or I no longer had access to them so I moved on. Tonight we have a stunning moon with a planet trailing it and I wanted to know which one. I guessed right, Jupiter. Then I got flashed with 4 ads and a video in less than 60 seconds. Say what you want, but I am not exaggerating. I had the app sound off and then some Youmusician or something ad came on and the sound was back (probably because the iPad wasn’t silenced, only the app) and we all got to listen to a very loud guitar lesson. My sleeping neighbors would like to say Thank You. Or something that sounds very similar. So disappointed that I can’t and don’t want to pay for something I already bought. I have uninstalled everything.

Long time user, long time fan. This app is really wonderful. It's easy to use and is great on a clear night to see what's going on in the sky that night. I use it to help my young daughter learn about the stars and planets, as well as for my own enjoyment. I pulled it out while visiting my parents and now my mother has installed the app too. Highly recommend.

Great app!! Just some fixes. Ok so first this is such a cool app to see stars and all that stuff And yes I get it is a free app but there is like so many adds like I get that it’s free and all free games have adds Ok this is what I mean when I click on to a star or planet once i want to leave it it has a add plus it’s the same add every single time so if I can maybe fix this sorry for the long read <3 Thank you for trading and a great app!!

Needs Improvement. I used to be really impressed with this App., but now tends to lock up. You get notifications of some celestial event and when you click on it you would think it would take you to the event, unfortunately not. I’m not sure if recent software updates, either the App or the OS, have made this formally amazing Program falter but hope the developers are able fix it. Still a fan, but have lost some of my enthusiasm.

Love this app for little learners and adult wanderers. My friend Robin suggested I get this app for my son who is interested in space. I’ve had it for years, and while he has outgrown it I continue to marvel all the things it has taught me over the years. Such a wonderful bit of technology that lets you travel the heavens without leaving the ground.

Great informative app. I enjoy the app, very good information, and like going through what is shown. The only issue I have is trying to get out of the app, instead of just swiping up on my phone, I had to find a way like rate the app that let me then close out of the app. Because of that I will remove an otherwise great app.

Still have the original version and love it. I've had this app for years on my old iPad. In fact it's so old that it no longer updates thus I still have the original version. I think it's a shame that they have changed it and from some of the most recent reviews I'm reading I may lament the death of this iPad someday. But for now I'm happy

I like it but why didn’t you give the asteroids and comets textures?!. I would like if the comets has like an icy texture and the asteroids would have just a better texture. It would also be cool if you were to add the moons to the game. (I don’t mean earth’s moon, I mean all of the other moons, like Mars’s moons.) I’m not trying to be rude though, but I want more updates!

All the worlds at my fingertips. Great app, as a stargazer I am always watching the night sky, when I reach for my phone and start the app, I am like a kid again, and the space music in the background literally take me to a far place as I learn all about what I never about the heavenly bodies above and around me.

Automatically billed me. I downloaded this app ages ago and didn’t realize they have been automatically billing me for months. It is cheap but when I clicked to “manage my subscription” it took me to a broken link and then I ended up having to cancel it through my iPhone subscriptions. I don’t appreciate the sneakiness in which they billed me and how difficult they made it to cancel. I will ensure to advise everyone I know to not get this app. In addition, there are dozens of better FREE apps out there

Star walks the best. I’ve had it forever.. Star walk is the best. I’ve had it forever. If it was the ONLY thing my iPhone could do I’d be thrilled beyond belief we are so spoiled these days with amazing tech. Thank you to star-walks creators! I don’t care how much they are pad to make this app, in my regard it counts as public service. The best! Why no one actually talks about it I do nit know. I’m a professional astronomer I guess. Well I’m an astrophysics student. Let me be clear, You need zero astrophysics to use this app. You just need to like looking up and down and all around. Because the stars are all around us. One of my favorite things to do with my kids is to put my phone on its car mount and drive around our little neighborhood with star wall on in overlay mode so the can see that it’s us here on earth moving. Not the stars. Perspectively as we turn our heads and spin on our axis. You can see all the stars still. Below the horizon having just set or about to rise. Thank you star work. Enough fun overlay artwork to keep and child interested. Or the child like - like we all are when we look up!

Inaccurate information. I noticed that this app’s Facebook page published a post saying that Venus turns retrograde on July 22nd, 2023 and then direct on September 4th, 2023. I knew right away that this was inaccurate. Venus turns direct on September 3rd in the Western Hemisphere (not the 4th as they had it). I considered that perhaps the info wasn’t based on Western time zones, but it still didn’t make sense. Venus turns retrograde at 1:33am GMT on July 23rd and direct at 1:21 GMT on September 4th. So, if their times were based on GMT, they would have had the date on which Venus turns retrograde as July 23rd, instead of the 22nd as it was in the post they published. When I messaged them to point out their error to them, they responded with the utmost condescension that “there is more than the Western hemisphere” as if I hadn’t considered that already. Dudes, if you are reading this, I was born outside of the Western hemisphere. TLDR: do not count on accuracy. An update in response to the developer’s response: I also emailed their support team twice. No response.

Good app, bad marketing. I bought premium and enjoy the app. However, the app is clearly designed to be unusable unless you buy a subscription (frequent pop-up ads). People that download this app are either going to be angry about the ads and delete the app or pay for premium immediately, which is clearly the devs intentions. My suggestion would be to give the user 10-15 minutes of ad-free usage when they first download so that they can experience the app to its fullest and therefore be more inclined to buy premium when their time is up. If they get ads right away, they will just be angry and delete.

Ads. So lately I discovered ads can actually make your vision worst and my hole family used this app for a long time there’s a lot of good vision in my family but there vision is getting worse because of the ads and a lot of my family has glasses because the ads ruin there vision and don’t put them on the hole screen I broke my I pad cause I raged of the ads so please just make them small like on the side of the screen so they won’t bother us that much I don’t really use this app anymore because there’s to much ads I would really appreciate it if you at least made ads not cover the entire screen. Thanks!

Ok I'll rate you again lol.... So I've been loving this app for over 5 years now I think and it's always asking me to rate it. So here's yet another 5 stars and review from me. What can I say? I've familiarized myself so well with the cosmos that I can conduct astronomy talks in the hot tub whenever anyone is visiting. A glass of wine and the steam embracing Cygnus and Aguila during the cool summer nights...thanks starwalk!

So disappointed.. I have owned this app for years. Paid the full price for it, 9.99 (at the time really expensive... pretty pricy even now!) I used it seriously three or four times a year for the last 5 years planning camping trips to coincide with cool astronomy events like the total solar eclipse and all sorts of meteor showers. I loved it. Raved about it to my friends. Even showed it off to my dad. It is a part of my start screen and I pulled it out every camping trip. Imagine my disappointment, upon opening it so it can enhance my viewing of the perseid meteor shower, which I am camping for, right now, this very evening and none of the previously available features are available to me unless I pony up MORE money for a subscription service. I am really upset. Farewell, Star Walk. You were a beautifully designed and useful app once. I’m sure you still are beautiful...You enhanced my love for the stars. I guess my wallet is just not large enough to follow you down that subscription rabbit hole. I am so sad.

Star Walk, my review. I love star walk. I’ve had it since 2011 and it’s the best app I’ve used for finding stars and constellations. I’ve never had any issues and the developers are GENIUSES! Thank you! Something I love about the app is you can search for constellations and stars which is helpful because of the Geminid shower happening in these coming days. Thanks to star walk for all the amazing technology you provide us with!

New versions don’t allow for real time movement. Disappointing to have app changed to where it doesn’t work as well as it did previously. Must be a real “woke” programmer on the ball here... This is my second poor review of your non-working app after the “woke” developers fraudulent response. Lie... lie... lie.... must be easy to do when you have SO MANY complaints about your backwards heading app! Your app’s newer version removes features that were already existing. Now you have re-engineered the app to NOT perform the same features easily without a lieing “woke” developers improbable changes to your specific phone. After all of that WHY SHOULD ANYONE BOTHER?!!!! DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT USERS WANT TO MESS AROUND TRYING TO FIX WHAT YOU SCREWED UP FROM PRIOR VERSIONS???? Is it true you are from BEIJING CCP DEVELOPERS SCHOOL??????

Real handy. Since Starwalk knows the observer position, it gives altitude and azimuth of an object which is nice when used with my computerized telescope. I like the red colored feature which is great at night. I wished the horizon was more delineated and the zenith as well. I also wished it had a way to adjust the intensity of the stars to match their magnitude when outside ambient lights make fainter stars less visible. Overall it's a great app, especially when used with my telescope.

Well-. I’m so into astronomy. I’ve been told “become engineer, pilot, or doctor” but I truly want to become an astronaut or aerospace engineer. I wanted to study the sky so I don’t sit around doing nothing all day and for the one app I think would so be a life changer was stupid. No, I love this app but seriously? I press on a star trying to see the background but I get a bunch or numbers. Might as well give an explanation to that star like other apps. And I press on a star and next thing you know, there’s an app in your face. Calm down with THE APPPS OMGGGG

Star Walk. You can never get busted for browsing at one of the most educational Apps ever made . It is so educational and brings the universe literally into your hands. These days w the light pollution I go out to gaze and Star Walk brings my charts into focus! I love the app and thank you for bringing science to the smart phone. It makes it smarter!!!

StarWalk Keeps me informed & shows me where to look. I’m 67 and been an amateur skywatcher all my life. I enjoy StarWalk alerts me daily to current interesting celestial events AND shows me where to look for them! It’s like having a professional astronomer available 24/7! Perhaps I’ll never recall much of all I learn, but for example I just learned some “new” facts about our Moon in the Wikipedia entry it took me to! StarWalk telling me what I can see and where to look has really enriched my skywatching every night I choose to use it! Thanks for a celestial mechanic help on my iPhone!

Glitchy. The app used to be great but now it’s glitchy. I will be trying to line up my phone with what I see in the sky. An ad will pop up. When I close the ad the app has frozen up. It won’t rotate on the screen. I can’t zoom in and out or even move the screen. I have to force close. Over and over. I touch anything on the screen and there is an ad. I can’t use this app anymore. ** yes I am sure I will get a nasty response from the developer as I have seen on NUMEROUS reviews. If everybody is having the same issue then it’s AN ISSUE!!!**

Love this app.. I wish I could afford a big fancy telescope to truly show me the detail of our night sky.. until then this app is helping me learn placement in time of the night sky around me and for that, I am thankful. I can look at a constellation, pick a star and learn all about it. I can also see satellites. I think this app is a wonderful learning tool for anyone interested in our galaxy and learning what's around you. Even if you have a telescope I think it would be a great asset to locate and identify what you are looking at. It is very informational.

Glitchy. I used to love this app so much, but recently I've been having issues with the gps on the app where it thinks that I'm facing a different direction than I am. For example, I'll clearly see the moon in front of me and it will show it as being behind me or off to the left. Just now I was trying to use it and it seems to think that I'm facing south even though I'm facing north east. I'm sure that there's a way to trouble shoot, but I wish the app was easier to use for me to be able to do this without having to search without success.

Headache. This is the third device I have automatically gotten that has put things upside down, and in some cases backwards. In my area Cassiopeia usually starts in the north Western sky and finishes in the eastern. On this app that is reversed. If you find the North Star and turn right until you find Orion you should be looking east or south east. This app says you are now facing west and the constellation is at or below the horizon not below as the app states. If you don’t mind the app being upside down and backwards it’s great.

One of the first Apps I installed when I got my first iPhone.. One of the first Apps I installed on my phone. I have had nothing but fun family time and educational experiences with my daughter, and son when I use Starwalk. It’s a great resource to use anywhere at anytime. It shows gazing at the stars and planets in a whole new way!

Not working right anymore. I’ve been using this app for over 10 years. Suddenly it’s now not able to get planets in sky. It’s not possible to tell between Jupiter or Other nearby planets/stars. I can’t tell if I’m looking at a planet that is the only star I can see, or something else. Sad that it’s not really working. Made me look stupid the other night.

Sticky. I like this app. The visuals are great and the music is meditative. Recently, there have been so many adds that the app is slow, and sometimes freezes. I have to close it and reopen, and then another add pops up. This app is too big to be messing around; my non-upgradable storage in my iPhone can only support ONE star map guide app. Thanks for understanding. I’ll let you ruin my experience only one more time, then I’ll delete. Thanks. Oh, the worst part is I can not close the darn adds, I have to close the whole app! Unacceptable.

Let’s take away features and demand money. Star walk has been my favorite app for years, and has an amazing database of celestial objects. I was very dismayed and disappointed to learn that one of the recent updates removed most of these items, and simply labels them deep space object instead directing you to subscribe on a monthly basis and pay for what was previously free. This is an unfortunate trend with apps to go to a subscription model. Although I commend the app developers for a reasonably priced subscription, a one time fee would be quite preferable. In addition, I learned that I had to subscribe to view most of these objects when out of range of a cellular signal while camping, so it’s not like I could subscribe at that time.

Cool app!!!. I love all the star walk apps, but this is by far the best one. Star walk 2 makes you purchase supernovas, satellites, planet extensions and more annoying things. But this one is good because you don’t have to buy anything! Love, love,LOVE the app!!! Please add more things to this app, because a very old satellite has reached the edge of our galaxy.

It’s an informative app. There is a lot of good information on the countless objects that can be seen from earth as well as many that are essentially alien to most people (I had to say it haha 👽). The only issue I have is that the back button to get back to the sky from the information page doesn’t work, so I have to force quit the app and reopen it every time. It is driving me crazy.

Better back then. Back then I could tap on any star I saw that I wanted. If I remembered correctly I think that back then there wasn’t even ads. But now that’s all gone it use to be decent app I just re-downloaded it remembering how good that app was but now it’s not that fun especially when I keep getting interrupted by trails so I am afraid I won’t continue using this app as well as many other people who use to have it and had an awesome experience back then so farewell star walker

Welllll....... I like this app, that you don’t need internet, and I love the background music HOWEVER, it won’t let me see information about deep space objects and meteor showers. It will let me see them, just not up close or the information. That was the thing I was looking forward to, but I got bummed out when I saw that. I really wish you didn’t have to pay to see them. 😔 Other than that, it’s recommendable.

So many ads!! And inaccurate🤨😡. I got this app and didn’t pay for the whole premium thing and I couldn’t look at the sky for even 5 seconds without seeing an ad! Total waste of time if you have to watch a 10 second ad for every 2-5 seconds you are actually looking at the sky. Do not buy unless you are willing to pay for the premium version. And even then, you might as well get a better rated constellation app if you are going to pay the money. Also little thing to add on, even when I would point it at the ground, it would still give me constellations and satellites, so I’m assuming that this app isn’t even accurate. How this app has 4.7 stars, I don’t know. I don’t recommend anyone to get this

Forced monthly fees for same product I bought years ago.. Yeah, to view the same thing I previously viewed for years (back when I loved the app), I now have to pay a subscription. All because my phone auto updated the app. Now everything besides stars are considered far earth and behind a pay wall. Same for some features I had access to. I just want my original product back. I never got a response from customer support. Edit: I did contact support. I will try again and update my review.

Great for the names, but..... I’ve been using Star Walk for 6 months. I love the different viewing modes, but if you want to get details about something, you either have to watch an ad or but the plus version. When I bought the app, I was under the impression that it still worked the same way, but it removed ads when you paid for plus. I would be completely in love with it except for that one thing. Just so you know, it would be great if you showed the Perseverance craft on its mission to Mars.

Great App. This app is amazing, I like how you can switch the views to look at the stars. It doesn’t have that many adds considering that it’s free. Although you do need premium to look at definitions and descriptions on some satellites and stuff you can just search it up on google if it’s that interesting. I personally just have it to look at the stars but it’s interesting to learn about the stars when you tap on them. There are so many more things about this app that you can do and that’s only for the free version. If you get this app then I recommend getting the premium. It’ll give you a better experience of the app. Overall this is a great app and I plan on using it for a long while,

5yrs later and I still love this app. My favorite part is if you get to far out with no service (always the best stars) IT STILL WORKS! We camp for 2wks every summer up in the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming and there is no hope of service until off of them, but this app is a camping party favorite EVERY year not to mention It is all I ever wanted growing up! As a teen I saved my mowing money for a cordless phone (pre-cellphone era) and would lay in our pasture for hours and hours all summer long with my glow in the dark constellation coffee table book and Gf on the phone, now I can just hold up my phone and know my stellar address, neighbors and man made junk, I will never look at the stars the same 10/10

Incredible!!. I absolutely love everything about this app! How you can change the background to the background you're actually looking at, how it tells you the phases of the moon and conjunctions of the planets, how it will even alert you to look out for meteor showers!! So many cool features and I love how it works offline too!

Perfect for Family Gazing. I have been using this app off and on for 4 years now with my family and TL Troop. I am no expert on the heavens. However, this app not only makes it easy to gaze intelligently anywhere (even thru the earth) but it also helps you not miss upcoming celestial events that my family and Troop really enjoy. Great app!!

GOAT APP. I remember when Vito was getting its name out there and Original Star Walk was the free app of the month at Star Bucks! I picked that card up downloaded to my iPhone 4S and she and her sisters Star Walk 2 and Solar Walk have been my constant companions through all upgrades to my iphone XS. The apps never get old peeps! I shows you the stars above and on the other side of the planet in real time! I hope you find it SKOL! VITO!

Best app. Value for money this app has it all, just tap the screen to discover a new star, it's endless, I love the notifications

Awesome. Great app for when using telescope since the Map changes in real time or you can ffw to a specific time. However I couldnt set a location as a default so i have to set to melbourne every time i load the app. How about being able to set to specific long/lat. Also it would be cool if there is an option to allow for atmosphere. So it represents real life as close as possible. Able to tell show when the sun is going to set/rise. Star walk is a quality app easy to use and no lag it. also used many features found in the PC program stellarium.

Fantastic!. Great app, I was simply amazed at the visuals and effects. The time machine is also fantastic. I think that the information on stars and constellations is lacking. Considering how much money time and effort it would've been to create such an amazing up, you would think that they would add more detail to the information. Not just a short description and a link to Wikipedia. Another fantastic addition would be solar atmospheric effects. Solar flares etc. Considering the expected rise in flares, this would be a great monitoring tool.

Terrible App. Hard to navigate. Impossible to operate. Possibly the worst app on the Apple eco system.

Works well for me.. I don't know why some are complaining about it not working in the southern hemisphere. It works perfectly for me and everyone else I know who has this app installed (all up about a dozen people). You do realise you have to set your location for it to work correctly? This is a simple matter of choosing current location from the list in settings. This means it will automatically adjust your coordinates to suit where ever you happen to be. We've used it all over Australia, New Zealand and in North America. I have it on my iPad and iPhone, no worries with either.

I love star walk. Thanks for making star walk l love it so much it is very fun and I learn a lot about the stars it is so much fun

Review. Find difficult to navigate as I’m not good with technology

Great nights. Great learning and education app. But also stimulating to look at

First Rate App. Been using it for years. Tried others, very quickly come back!

The perfect companion for eyes. If you have eyes, it would be a great idea to buy this application. It is beautiful, and the wonderful science fiction touches make looking at stars even more fun. I can't recommend this enough, it's fast, fluid, easy on the eyes - even easier on red mode - and if you are like me and are concerned that some day you travel backwards in time and you want something to blow the minds off primitive scientists, this is it. The developers keep on adding features and objects. The only thing I could think to improve it is to include some kind of newbie tour guide to help you get started with binoculars or a first telescope. Furthermore, I have recovered from several minor disorders from using it which makes me think that it might contain the secret of eternal life.

Freezes. Since th iOS 17 Star Walk works great!!!!

Easy . What a phenomenal app. One of my most used by far The info which comes with each star, that's right, EACH one, is more than adequate for any person who's even mildly interested in what they are looking at. The augmented view is a fantastic representation of the power capable with the iOS 4. Couldn't recommend more highly for $3.99. Amazing developer talent packed into such an easily navigated app. Buy this and I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed.  it.

Absolutely brilliant. The other reviewers are spot on. This is one of the most beautiful and polished apps on the iPhone -- or anywhere for that matter. If you have any kind of interest in astronomy at all, it really is a must have. It's a nice app to show off your iPhone capabilities to friends too. If I had one wish for a future update... When you zoom out, the brighter stars don't scale down in size much at all. This gives you a stunningly spectacular depiction of the night sky but... well, it's not that realistic when you compare it to the little white dots in the real sky, and that makes it a little harder to identify what you're looking at. Could we have an optional setting for a more realistic sky when zoomed out? One that scales those stars down to a much smaller size?

5 Sharks at. Best app ever

Amazing!. One of the only app notifications I love to see appear on my phone! Absolutely love it..

Why I like Star Walk. I Like star waLk Because you can Look at stars And sateLLites And aLso pLanets.

Isnt it now illegal to ask for review?. Yes

cant stop notifications. went to settings - all 3 notifications are off. but app still sends screen noticstions every night. sorry - im deleting

Incredible. The future is now 🙃

This is the greatest app ever!!. As a amateur astrologist I truly feel like I am looking at the best info available. SO amazing!!! Well done guys!!!

Great use of the IPhone platform. One of the best ways to learn about the stars and for the kids to do the same. Mix it with an even mildly powerful telescope and a very interesting evening can result. For example, with this I was able to find, and get the telescope locked on to, Jupiter in about 2 minutes - a process that may have taken quite some time otherwise. The ability to find the more interesting nebula is great. It is also fascinating being able to see, in virtual form at least, straight through the Earth to the stars on the far side. All around - if you have an even mild interest in the stars and planets this is a truly great app.

Awesome. The best app I have ever have. I don't need my star cards anymore. This is so easy, accurate and even better that I never need Really good app Thanks

A few objects were not in the right place. I have two other apps like this, SkyView and SkyGuide. There was a full moon last night and after opening SkyView and pointing my iPad directly at the moon the read the info, I did the same thing with Star Walk. After pointing my iPad at the moon and opening the app, the moon wasn’t there! So using the Search feature, I found the moon to be below the horizon and in its place was a star named Vega.

The only reason to take your phone camping. This app is extremely super user friendly. Top notifications, just shake your phone to realign, point at your area of curiosity in the sky to know what you're looking at.

Great but faults. Really great app. Missing stars cause the app has a few glitches. Notifications are sent but disappear upon opening, compass occasionally whacks out. Still my favourite app to date.

The Best. This app is the best!

Still BEST APP by miles in it's class. I'm happy this is still by far the best semi-pro app on the market after years of appalling competition. It's easy to use and is a wealth of knowledge. Unless you're looking to literally shoot off into the galaxy, Star Walk still sits at number one as the best night guide to the stars you'll ever need. It's even better if you're a keen astrophotographer. It's very user friendly and mesmerising to watch. Just get this one. I wasted money on others that are a disgrace. I've used it for years without a single flaw and I never write reviews. 👍

Don’t update. My son downloaded this version on his iPod and it doesn’t scan the sky as the move the phone around , you have to drag with your finger. I read about others experiencing the same when they updated the app.

Please update to iOS 13 dark mode. As I said in sky live please please update to iOS 13 dark mode because it looks ugly in lockscreen :(

Don't Bother. The amount of ads made me delete this within 5 minutes. Literally an ad every 30s which I had to wait to time out, don't bother.

Hard to use. I seem to be the only one but I find this app hard to use. The real reason someone gets an app like this is to point it to the sky and it will tell you what you're looking at. But this feature is hard to find. It should be the default setting on opening. If I've somehow changed it on mine I can't see how to easily change it back. I have to search for the moon to get a screen where I can manually position the horizon to what I'm looking at. Even then the whole sky wants to flip upside down if i move it anywhere near the middle to the screen. Not that great for a paid app. Lots of bells and whistles but the basics need to be better sorry to say.

Must be a bug surely. Sorry but a new Advertisement opens up about every 5 seconds rendering the free version useless. In response the the developer, I am aware of pop up adds but every five to ten seconds is EXCESSIVE, hence rendering the app useless.

Just one tiny thing.... Love the app but a little thing... when there is a red flag indicating a message or notification you open up the app and .... nothing. If you’ve got something to tell me, tell me. Please. Response to developer: I guess I’ve got flags turned on but notifications turned off - so I see the flag but not the text of the notification. Thus the lonely flag leads me to expect something when I open the app. It’s no big thing but when apps like mail and other messaging apps have the red flag they somehow show the relevant messages when you open the app. I was just expecting this to follow the ‘norm’. One of the great beauties of the Apple ecosystem is that things work - and different things work the same ... mostly. This just broke my with expectations. This is not a major criticism - the app is still great.

DayDreamer. Best star astronomical app I have used. So informative and easy to navigate. Keep up the great work, thanks so much for bring the stars alive.

Star Walk. This app is absolutely awe inspiring, a lot of apps are just gimmicks. This is educational, entertaining and mind blowing ever wondered what the star is? Use this app and before you know it it's not a star it's a planet. Great for learning the constellation's. Use it with a telescope the naked eye or a night vision scope. If you want something that will use the full potential of your iPhone/ iPad this is it. Beam me up Scotty I found a new star system. This is by far the best app I have ever bought I can not praise it enough I've had pretty much as soon as it was released just when you think it's as awe inspiring as it can get, they somehow find ways to improve it. For a totally mind blowing experience find somewhere dark and plug in some noise isolation headphones, put the app in night vision mode turn the music up and have the most intense mind altering experience that is legal. I love it. Definitely a ten out of five star app if there ever was one.

Fantastic. Really beautiful app

Great, fantastic - needs moons of Jupiter (please?) and magnitude options. Great for seeing the night sky - any place, any time, any angle! Wonderful for 'what is that bright star?' and 'where is that constellation?" Amazing fluid graphics. Focus on one object and see how it moves in relation to others. Stunning! Two minor things but important things could be improved - I miss not being able to see the moons of Jupiter - disappointing that they don't appear in a search either so no photos. Also it would be great to have a show more / show fewer stars ie an intuitive way to limit the magnitude displayed so that only the brightest are visible.

Tilt function not working. !

Awesome. I think this game is awesome because you get to look at all the star constellation 🌌 s and it tells you when meteor showers are visible and it shows you were the planets are! Ps Pluto is a dwarf planet!

Too many ads. Great app but a frustrating amount of ads. Couldn’t use it for more than 10 seconds without being served.

Star-gazing made brilliant.. My family love using this app when stargazing, even when it's just from our backyard. The augmented display makes it easy to identify different stars and constellations, and there is a wealth of information about the night sky. Its search function is easy to use and provides directional arrows on the display so one knows which way to look. The good points about this app far outweigh the two minor problems I've found, which are both very easy to fix. The first is that the initial gps reading to determine location isn't accurate. By recalibrating my iPhone's gyro and manually setting my location in the app, things come right. I've not had a problem since. The second is that the scale of the star-chart doesn't always match what I'm seeing in the night sky. This is simply fixed by zooming into the display until correct. In short, I love this app and it is worth every single cent.

Fantastic App, Compass update rocks.. I love this app a lot, have tried almost all other star finders, and this is by far the smoothest and most fun to use. One thing I would love to see though is an update to take advantage of the 3GS compass - most other similar apps are now enabling a 'point the camera' mode to see what stars you're looking at, this would be a fantastic update for Starwalk too.. Dont let the competition offer something that should be in this app too. EDIT : Wow.. two days after suggesting the compass functionality be added, an update arrives. Vito, You guys are awesome! Now it is a 6 stars app :) (no pun intended)

Dreamer. This is an amazing app! I’ve been using it since I don’t even remember! More than 5 years, I think. It is hypnotizing! Colors, sounds, view and interface are perfect! Thank you for such a beautiful thing!

Not very intuitive. I came across this app, recommended as an interactive astronomy guide when researching the auroras as one is currently visible in Southern Hemisphere. After paying for a subscription I’ve got access to the full app with comprehensive information on constellations and planets, and an events section. I was disappointed to not find any section of this app covering auroras or to not even see it in the calendar/events section. Additionally the UI is clunky and not simple to navigate through. Maybe this app is better suited for an experienced astronomy buff who gets the technical side and not someone like myself who is more at a beginners level.

Disappointed. You have removed the information about satellites and only offer it on paid subscription when it used to be included.

Totally worth the coin!. I never usually rate apps, but quite simply this is the best star map app on the market! I have Solar Walk, Sky Safari, Star Map and Sky Orb, and this app truly lives up to it's promise: to transform how you view the night sky, and immerse you completely in the experience! Controls are brilliant and the synchronous alignment with the iPhone 4 gyroscopes makes for a suburb tool as you sweep the sky and see every single star and constellation! When you scan across the Sagittarian arm of the Milky Way you get a real feeling of just how small our place is in our Galaxy...NO OTHER APP EVEN COMES CLOSE TO MAKING THE USER FEEL LIKE THIS!!!! Excellent design and UI-props to the app geniuses that brought this to us! Buy it, and you won't be disappointed!! The best tool you can have if you are an avid amateur astronomer, or just curious to know more about that you see in the night sky. Cudos guys well executed... 10/10!!!

The moon is out of position. I’m looking at the moon in the night sky to the East and this program has it 180 degrees below the horizon in the West. So what else is out of position? Also gives notifications to events in the sky but when you touch them to go to it, the app doesn’t take you to it. This APP used to be good but now its woefull.

AAAWWWWWSSSSSOOOOOMMMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!!!. This app is really interesting and you learn a lot about all the satellites. If an object is close enough you may even see it moving. When you search something in the search bar it will automatically take to the celestial body. So in other words..... THIS APP IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic. Great app

A very great app !. There's just simply nothing to complain about, a great app ! Pros: - Simple, easy to control (very intuitive). - Great graphic (livingly universe animation, you can even see the occasionally flying asteriod) - Many sky objects which you can see by eyes (align the iphone toward the sky and see what you are looking at ! It works, just as simple). Cons: - Little to no option for control (get StarMap Pro if you want this feature). - Missing many deep-sky-objects, not that many stars (though you won't see them very easily anyway) - No 3D (this feature is great for the Solar Walk) - No eclipse movement of planet around the sun (could be very good if you can see Mars or Saturn going around the sun in relative to Earth time, which you can just simple slide the time slider). - Little image gallery (would be great if it could be expanded). Anyway, for the price and the fun, it is a must get if you are new to Astronomy !

Love this app. I think this is the best app ever

Awesome!!. The night sky (to me) is one of the most magical things. This app lets look at it and I can figure out where everything is. THANK YOU!!!!'n

Sucks now. I had this app on my other device, access to everything, now I download on new device and they want a monthly sub to view specific things..garbage! Just more money hungry crap...delete!

Merger work. Offffff

Awsome. Awsome work

Monetization model. When I was a kid, and this app was first put onto the App Store, I loved this app. I had always been interested in astronomy, but being given a way to experience the night sky, especially in a way I could never really experience in a big city, was amazing. I would deliberately get lost in the sea of stars by zooming all the way in and look around for something interesting, or try to find my way back to the sun, sometimes I’d go forward and backward in time using the little scale on the upper right, or change how the sky looked entirely by changing to the different wavelength options they used to have (not that I knew what radio waves, ultraviolet had to do with anything, but that’s besides the point). You could take screenshots of certain areas and save them in a little library, and while constellations weren’t as visually interesting you could still see them through a sort of filter. You could just look up an object, satellite, nebula, etc, and it would all show up, newly launched satellites even had their own tab in the search bar. It had virtually anything you could have possibly wanted for looking for stars with a telescope, or just looking around the night sky the way I often did. The app clearly was popular, it had no real competition because of just how good it was, at least on the App Store. This was probably my favourite app of all time. So what happened? The long and short of it is that this app is no longer what it once was, you have to pay a subscription model to unlock many features that this app once had, if you don’t, you have lost much of the apps former functionality and will be hammered by ads. To the original developers, a genuine, heartfelt thank you for what you did, I wish I could recommend this app, ten years ago, this would have been a 6/5.

A Little Off?. So You Are Correct There Is 120,000 Stars In The Galaxy But As Of Today There Is 500B Stars In Real Life Now So I Don’t Know About You But It Is Very Good And Recommended!

Disappointed it’s the update. Used to love this app. Now they want you to pay a monthly fee on top of hat I had paid for the app to get the features in the app. Not a good move.

Awesome App!!!. Very handy and useful

App works somewhat. Love it and it works but I don’t like that An ad pops up every time I click on star so it’s impossible to find star I wanted to look at

Favorite app. This app has settled countless arguments for me! It's wonderful, I highly recommend you get it.

Not perfect, but still great. There are quite a few similar apps out there now which do essentially the same thing. This one lacks some basic features that other reviewers have pointed out, and the very keen folks will likely prefer StarMap. But this one is great and for the average user it is a bargain at 2.99. I have about 4 similar apps, but this is the one I usually use first to identify an unknown object. Main pros are a very attractive display (by far the nicest) and the SkyLive shortcut which gives all your important information at a glance.

Read user guide online. Probably best app ever, but a must is going to Vito Technology web site and read the user manual. Can be a little confusing to use without reading online manual.

Love it. I often use this app when camping together with my child when stargazing. We also use this app in the city to identify whatever stars and planets we make guys be seeing. Lots of fun. Accurate and educational. Perfect for any stargazer. Worth any in app purchases too.

Limited subscription options. .

Dissappointed as well.... Contacted vendor on Twitter to ask why i have to pay and there aren't any grandfathered purchases. I have the iPad app version and it never asked me for any payment. It's with THIS update. Until a new version with a fix is out, i will give this 5-star app a 2 star rating.

Ok on iPhone and iPad, crashes on Apple Watch. I’ve used this app for several years, it works well on iPhone and iPad but unfortunately it crashes on Apple Watch. Keeping that in mind, I still would recommend this if asked.

Cannot access years after purchase. Bought this app many many years ago and now can’t use it since the banner to a free 1 week trial or purchase of the plus version. Never really used it that much in the first place and will not be using it again

Too many notifications. The app just overwhelms your with all kinds of notifications ninety percent of which would be relevant to you. I stopped using it for this reason.

To many ads. 90% ads 10% finding

Star walk app review👏. Fascinating app, thank you!

Not bad. The best thing about it is that you can see are planets in the solar system wen we are not even in space

Great app but stick to the astronomy.... As an astronomical tool the app works well but I’ve had a few astrological tips surface through my notifications re: Mercury retrograde. They clearly have not spent more than 30 seconds studying astrology yet feel adequately equipped to give their opinion in this area. They should really learn more astrology rather than simply repeating what others might say. Stick to what you know!

Only 1 problem. Great app, I really love the way you can see all the stars and the way the constellations are outlined. I especially love the way you can get info about the constellations and then click the link to wikipedia to read more. But that's where I have a problem, I can't seem to get off the wikipedia screen back to the sky view, there's an X at the top left corner but I can't seem to click it, I don't know if this is my problem or the apps but it's definitely a problem. Other that that great app.

Good looking but disappointing. I use a couple of astronomy apps because none seems to have the "perfect" combination of functions. Star Walk is the better-looking of them, but it lacks a few essentials that I'll list below. Star Walk pros: Stunning visual display. Extensive information on a very large amount of stars/objects. Use current time, manually set time and fast-forward through time at different speeds with a flick of the finger. Love the ability to select an object and have it remain centered through time while it moves agains the background; that's probably Star Walk's biggest plus. Night mode. Star Walk cons: Settings are limited to night mode on/off, constellations on/off, sounds and music on/off, and brightness. Can't turn off ecliptic. Can't display alt/az and ra/dec guides. Constellation lines only appear when constellation is centered in screen; would like to have the option of always having them displayed. Needs a status line indicating currently observed alt/az. Unability to select limiting magnitude can make for a cluttered display. No moon phase calendar. Unable to set viewing location manually using lat/long, only gps and pick from list. No Jupiter's moons calendar. SkyLive has no rise/set time for the Moon, really?!? Constellation lines disappear too early when zooming in. Need the ability to independently select on/off the display of constellation names, lines and figures. Need the ability to select on/off the display of DSOs. Other comments: Landscape mode only. Even with everything it's lacking, I still give it 3-1/2 stars for the fun factor and the eye candy. Unfortunately, it comes up short in too many aspects to deserve any more than that until more features and information are implemented. I use Star Walk to impress friends, I use Pocket Universe for educational/informative star-gazing. Note to developper by the way: noon is 12:00 PM, not 00:00 PM. Option to use 24-hour clock would be nice.

Yup. Itsa gud ap. It let u see stars n shiit. Gud tim.

Sky anytime. Thank you for this interesting app. I can watch stars, even if it is cloudy outside. Also, information about stars, planets and our Universe. It is so interesting!

Just amazing. Such a breath of fresh air

是吗哈哈是. 不过这不是一个月不知道什么时候才能实现就这么难吧……在于他用什么方法来表达我们都喜欢他这个节目很有意思呀!在线播放时间长到现在才看到电话给他们打电话了。

Too Many Updates. Nice app but the developers keep throwing updates at users every few days and each requires a completely new download of the full and fairly large app, often for minor revisions. Please save the updates for when there are real and noticeable improvements that customers will actually see. For all the updates there's still no moonrise/set times, no Jupiter moon positions, and no labels on stars until you tap on one. Plus the compass is overly sensitive - aim it up past 45 degree altitude and it will rotate wildly in azimuth 180 deg. This makes the program hard to use when aiming up high to identify targets near the zenith. As such, the compass feature is far less useful than it could be and more of a gimmick to impress friends. But actually try to use it and you'll find yourself looking in the wrong direction. SkyVoyager and StarMap Pro do not do this. Developers should spend less time posting frivolous entries at their Facebook site and more time really improving and fixing their app.

Purchased App but now it has advertising. Starwalk doesn’t honour purchases.

Fascinating!. I love to know what's above my head every night and read the information available. Well worth the money!

Always like this app. I have this app for a long time and it is a great app

Star Walk. I can’t find the 13.99 price in the app only weekly and monthly and yearly subscription and no unlimited use plan can someone from the Dev team message me plez

Star walk is amazing. Star walk is so interesting and very very very cool thank you for your help

Étoiles. Merveilleux tout ce qu’il y a, à apprendre maintenant je regarde le ciel pour identifier.

Shows objects in the wrong place. I was looking for the moon using star walk and found out it was showing the moon in the opposite direction it was actually in

FANTASTIC!!!!!. Words can't adequately describe how great this app is!! It is sheer indulgent geek delight!! I use it everyday and am overwhelmed by its awesomeness!!

Beautiful and Fun. I'd actually rate this at 4 1/2. The images are beautiful and the scrolling is very responsive. Plus it has a night view. The only thing it needs ,in my opinion, for a 5 is the ability to specify how much detail to see.

AWESOME!!!. I absolutely LOVE ❤️ THIS APP. It shows almost all of the constellations, and it shows everything that is going on in space. Keep the good work! 👍👍👍

Cool app!. A new way to look at the night sky!

Excellent. Great app. I use it often. Always reliable. I learn a lot. Thank you

Disappointed with the changes :/. I had this app a while back and I absolutely loved it, it used to be completely free. Now you have to pay for the most prominent feature on the whole app, the live view. That was the whole point to the app in my opinion. It was really fun and I'm sad with the changes. If at least that specific feature became available for free, I would change my review instantly to 5 stars. Please give us the live feature back for free.

.... Direction is not matching

Simply Labelled One Word…. A Classic… ❤️‍🔥🌌❤️‍🔥

Insanely aggressive ad frequency. Downloaded the app to watch the eclipse tonight. Cannot zoom in at all without getting an ad. Just got 4 ads in a row (literally within 2 minutes) so here I am writing an angry review. Shame you’d work so hard on an app and gum up the user experience that much Edit: I’m more than content with having ads in the free experience, but it almost feels like the ad behaviour is a bug. They pop up every time I pinch to zoom in on the sky. Once the ad is finished, the scene goes into a ‘locked’ mode where the scene does not move according to the iPhone accelerometer. I then have to shake my phone to get back to the live view, and do not have my zoom. This feels like the advertisements are impeding the functionality. If zooming in on live preview is a paid function, that should be clearly stated.

Search. If I search a star then tell me where I can find it.

Impressionnant un incontournable. Impressionnant

I Love This App. I've spent a lot of time with this app. Great interface, facts, etc. However as of late, the compass will freeze. I can scroll with my finger but if I move my phone - nothing. Still worth it though!

Icon is upside down. Great app. Love it. But I note that the app icon shows Ursa Minor with the "handle" coming off the wrong star. A Minor unnamed star highlighted. The one with the highlight is not Polaris or Kahob. The icon is not Ursa Major either. That never gets into the position shown. So the icon is a make believe constellation. Pretty Weird icon for a great app

Got a lot a love for the Dev!. The app is fantastic. The dev is fair an ethical. Hence, I bought version 2. I own Solar Walk and I will be buying Solar Walk 2. This app is makes the iPhone exciting to own. You purchase an iPhone for these kind off apps. The universe in your hand.

Why do we have to pay for the details?. I want to be able to see details about asteroids, comets, etc. without having to pay. Nobody cares about deep space objects, so we can still pay for those. I want to see when meteor showers happen.

Love this App. As an amateur astronomer (10" Dob., 8" SCT) I love this application. My scopes don't have GPS or Computers of any sort. The SCT has its clockdrive for photography and the Dob. has my less and less steady hand, but with care and this App. I find what I like to see at the beach (and in the night sky, too). Thanks for the good work. John

One if the first apps I ever bought. Still great and only gets better. I bought this when it first came out. It was miles ahead of any other app at that time and it still is one of the most polished apps you can buy today. Santa is making his rounds!

Coolest star map ever!. I live in Texas, and spent most of my life looking for a star map that wasn’t based on a much more northern parallel. Then two iPads ago, I found Starwalk. The app has always worked well, and I love it! So easy to identify planets and constellations in real time.

Problems with purchasing within app. I love the app and wanted to unlock all the features but got an unknown issue.I have restrictions turned off and am able to make purchases so nothing is wrong with my payment method. Can someone help please.

I paid years ago and LOVE it!. As the title reads I paid for the app long ago. I’ve paid for similar but, this is the ONLY astrology app I download to all of my multiple devices. Nice work, to say the least, to those whom did it...!

Technology at its best🌠. It won’t work in the far reaches of wilderness where apps don’t matter but where I live we don’t have a lot of light pollution and the fact this app is one of my most used. It really helps with points of reference so you can learn constellations 🌌 fairly easy.

My opinion. I liked the app a lot but I think there should be an option to move the camera where the device is pointing, also there should be like little games or quizzes on the constellation or object we learned about. Overall it is a cool app!!

My Favorite App Ever. I use this app everywhere I travel. It comes in handy all the time. My daughter has grown up with this app. I love when she asks me to use Star Walk to help her identify what she sees when she looks up at the night sky.

Star Walk used to have many more events than now!. Star Walk used to have many more events than now. Also the ISS times don’t match up to my time zone. So what is the point of having this event on my Star Walk! I do like when I point my phone up at the sky it shows all if the planets.

Needs update?. Seems very user friendly, but I am not sure the data is accurate. I got this app to help me find the 46P/Wirtanen comet but the location this app shows doesn’t match what I have seen from other sources.

Stargazing in your own Home. Star Walk is incredibly realistic. From constellations to deep space objects, this cuts the cake on astronomy apps . But all this covers is astronomy. What about philosophy? There are many people who believe that zodiac signs affect your personality and/or talents . But when you check out the information about a , per say , Sagittarius constellation, it only tells you facts about the stars . There should be a philosophers mode where you find out facts about how zodiac signs affect your love life , looks , issues , etc . In conclusion, this stargazing app teaches of the scientific side of the stars , and nothing of astronomy. - Miss Judge

Please STOP spamming popup ads. This used to be my favorite app for years but now it seems like every time I open it there’s a shady looking popup on the screen. This latest one was titled “Back2School Promo” with some vague description and unintuitive button choices. This seriously looks like malware or a phishing scam. Please 1) confirm this app has not been compromised and 2) stop this ridiculous advertising. Update: I’m sorry but your canned reply did not address these concerns at all. Uninstalling and no longer recommending this app to anyone.

So Many Ads!!!. The features on this are amazing! But the fact that I get an ad litteraly every time I touch the screen is unbelievable. I just can’t.

Bad. I do not understand why the app does not work on my phone. iPhone XR. I could not leave the app to go back to my main screen. If I would swipe up to get the app back to my main screen, it started a commercial! And I paid $4.99 for this. I had to literally restart my phone after powering it down every time I used the app just to get it to go back to my home screen. I have deleted the app permanently.

Love it. Ok I downloaded the app because we are learning about space and there is a lot of adds and I’m not paying for all the special stuff so maybe do away with the adds and ad all the features overe all I think it is is good. So don’t be mad about me complaing

The “killler” app for an AR device: the night sky. I’ve had this app for over 5 years, and never got tired of it. I inflict it on my kid... it really helps grok what is going on in the night sky better than any textbook could. 🤷‍♂️ Worth every penny.

So many ADS!!!. I wanted an app so I could view the stars outside my house. So, I downloaded this one. I was wrong. When I first opened the app I was presented by the Premium shop tab, and with me having no money, I declined. But, I couldn’t even use the app without being bombarded with ad after ad after ad. Every 3 seconds I was presented by an ad by either Sprint, Word cross games, and every ad possible. It really makes me sad at how ads can ruin the app. One star.

Great App. I’ve used this app for years and have enjoyed using it both in the US and internationally. Great for teaching kids about astronomy and the constellations. Also great for learning rudimentary celestial navigation and the discussing the history of sailing before the development of more modern navigation technologies.

Beautiful App but very difficult to use. We love moving the phone and having the sky move with it but we have never been able to start it on demand which is very very frustrating!

Love the app but it isn’t finding the comet. All over the news today and from several different sources my husband and I were directed where to look in the night sky and at what time to view comet P46 Wertamin. For example, on December 16 at 10:00, look at the constellation Taurus. The comet will ‘ a green ghostly looking appearance. We were outside with binoculars in hand and my tablet with Star

Best of the Best. This app is super customizable. It tracks satellites, ISS, meteor showers, and so many more celestial events. It will alert you to the events you are interested in. I have been using it for years and I have been turning on new users all the time. It’s just so easy and fun.

Good app but hard to unsubscribe. I really like sky walk, it is very educative and entertaining, and it’s free (even better) But one thing I got frustrated is that I could not unsubscribe Sky Walk plus once I accidentally pressed ok, I hope the app can be straightforward to show people how to unsubscribe ( till now I still could not find, been charged twice already)

I like it but. I really want to like this app but I can’t seem to figure out how to properly use it. Since you asked… when I get a notification about an event say a meteor shower, I will go to the app and see if there is more information and there isn’t. So why tell me if you’re not going to offer more information. Like how best to view it. Or at least a link to somewhere that has that information. The sky mirroring is good. But it seems that is all your app does. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Doesn’t work on my phone, no way to unsubscribe from membership. This app does not work properly on an iPhone 7. It’s about 45 degrees off and freezes constantly. It’s free to download but you have to pay to use. There’s no way to unsubscribe from their membership, clicking the manage subscription link bring you to a broken link with nonsense text. I want a refund but can’t find how to contact anyone.

Great way to get kids into Star gazing!. Love this app! I am a MS science teacher and use this app with my students when we study astronomy. They LOVE that it helps them ID what's out there and every year I get more potential astronomers because of it! Thanks! Keep it up!

Spotting Mars and genesis 1. Our moon is so bright tonight it looks less than 100 yards away.. This is the best and favorite for my needs. Especially on a warm clear night on my deck to be sure I can identify every thing I can see as well as not see with my bare eyes. *****

Excellent app for any star gazer. We enjoy this app because of all the functionality. It anticipates your needs and is very easy to use. I check for planets and constellations all the time. This app gets us out of the house and watching the skies all the time.

No support for previous buyers. I purchased this app in 2011. To get more money from people they have not updated this app in more than a year to push people to Star Walk 2 which they updated 4xs in that time. They are supposed to honor previous purchasers when changing subscription policies and not leave them unsupported. Do not support this company due to their unscrupulous behavior.

Nope, not after they removed features!. Used to be an excellent 5-star app…. until a few years ago when they began quietly removing paid features from the original version in order to resell them in the new “2” version. For example, remember when they used to have notifications for meteor showers and other cool night sky events? Yep, me too! What a shame.

Annoying. When I first purchased Starwalk years ago, it was a wonderful app. I THOUGHT I’d purchased access for life. Lately, however, the developers have asked for users to pay a subscription fee. It might be worth it for new users but I personally feel that original purchasers should be grandfathered in. The pop ups demanding subscriptions ruin the experience.

Worth it. This app was so great while in remote MT and WY and we could see everything without city lights ruining it. Now that we are back in the city lights it’s fun to use the app to see what is up there (even though city lights block it.) I would’ve loved this as a kid!

Lost app. I purchased your app a while back. Changed my Apple ID. Forgot the password. Deleted the app to reinstall and found out you now have a subscription service. Can you help me with this as I already purchased the full ap while back? Thank you

Meh. The view doesn’t move as I point my device in different directions. #1 reason why I deleted the app about 2 minutes after installing it. It’s a map. You have to know which direction N, E, S, and W is to use it, which isn’t that bad, but it makes it useless to someone who isn’t good at figuring that out when they are in an unfamiliar place. Not a fan.

Great app. I have used other star apps, Star Walk is far better, used for years. It's even better now since they have added more educational information and stellar events calendar.

Beyond disappointed. 10 years ago I happily gave it 5 stars and Star Walk was my favorite app to use with my kids! I used to recommend it to everyone because it was a fun way to view, identify and learn about almost anything in the night sky! Now you have to watch a 5 sec ad EVERY time you click on anything in the sky!?! Every single time? It’s crazy. Ads on a free app are understandable and expected but this?? No. Deleted and Disappointed in Florida 😔

9 Years Later, Still My Favorite App!. I have been using this app for 9 years now, well worth the money! Even in more remote locations, the app has no trouble knowing where you are and pivoting based on where you aim your phone. Hands down, my favorite app I have ever paid for!

Unhappy user. The app has been updated and it does not work as well as it did. Does not inform when the ISS will pass over. Cannot set it to inform. I rarely use it any more. Help or return it to previous. Yes it happens every time I open the app. Plus cannot set our location. It says we are in Rio Rancho New Mexico. We are probably 30 miles east of there. And we have the coordinates of our location. The app just won’t accept them.

Love it :D. Have been using it for a few years now. I paid for it and can't remember how much, but it was well worth it because I enjoy using it pretty often. It's so kool to take out my phone and point it at a planet to go "yup, that is Jupiter" "or yup, that's mars/Venus/Saturn/mercury".

Flat earth. I would like to see star walk to address the flat earth theory ... I think it’s only right I’ve been trusting star walk for some years now , I just think it’s a issue that should get addressed... thanks

Awesome app. We have it on our iPhones and iPads for all our travels over the past few years and all updates have been seamless. It has an incredible database in situ, so if no internet connection available no problem.

One of the most beautiful apps I've seen on any platform. The ability to lock on to sky features and views and sweep through time by hours, days, and months is truly eye-opening.

Nice app! Pretty intuitive and user friendly.. I love the "info (i)" function as I'm constantly learning something new! The one thing that would make it perfect is to be able to select/refresh the ephemerides of popular bright satellites like ISS and Aqua so that we can try to hunt for them. If there was a comprehensive add-on, I'd buy it!

One of the best star guide maps. This is one of the best guides in Maps, with all the information you can possibly need. It also has links to Wikipedia in the web at your fingertips. Get this

Great App. I use this app almost every clear night. I like this much better than Star Walk 2. I would gladly pay a little more on this app than for every little thing on Star Walk 2, unless I misunderstand the pay model.

Gorgeous app!. In addition to the beautiful detail and clear, concise explanations, I love the calendar. It gives dates and best times to view all celestial events, so I don't miss any that are in my viewing range. I highly recommend.

Doesn’t show the real-time sky….. The best I could ascertain is that I could select from a few main options such as “stars” “meteors” “satellites” etc. which were in a list however I was never able to irises an actual real time sky view with identifiers. Very disappointing. It may have won an award in 2010 however it is now 2022. I wouldn’t choose to spend a penny for this app.
