Best app for vocabulary. I’ve been using this app to study korean vocabulary for over two years. It doesn’t just give you the word, but multiple sentence examples so you can better understand the context. I’ve learned so much from using it! Recommended to all of my Korean learning classmates

More useful the longer you use it. I agree with many negative reviews of this app, or I can understand their position. Just as a "word of the day" it can pitch you many random useless words. But each word every day slowly unlocks the word bank that you can access if you paid the full upgrade. After about 60 days of using this I wanted faster access to the other words, and paid the upgrade. My speed of learning has increased since then. Negatives: there are a lot of romanization errors (so much that even as a beginner I've noticed over 10 mistakes) and a very few times when the voice doesn't match the word displayed. I've learned to not trust the English romanization and learn to read the hangul, but this still makes for a distracting learning experience since you essentially can't trust your "teacher". Some sample sentences are wrong too. There are many minor errors in their database.

Love it!. This is definitely the best out there for Korean learners at this time as far as function and value goes! It updates everyday, allows you to review, record, and the best part? It's free! Who could beat that? I wouldn't get the paid version though it cost way to much $$.

GET THIS APP NOW. Ok for starters amazing app. After a day I could say three basic greetings in Korean! I have been searching for apps that could give you a full learning experience for free and i found it! This is a efficient app for learning Korean! And it gives the people who pay extra features instead of taking featured away and locking them behind premium for people who did not pay and the premium os only 10$! Just 10! They are teaching you a whole language for only 10 dollars other apps charge 10$ a month but here you pay 10 dollars once! Thats a steal. I am doing the free version right now and I am definitely considering buying premium! And it does not give you adds for premium constantly! It lets you enjoy the app and then consider buying it. But if you do not want to pay the free version is great to! It teaches you all the basic greetings and much much more!

Great. I like how it says the word for you so you know how to pronounce it. This seems like a good app to use on the go to learn some Korean words.

I Love It. This is the easiest app that I’ve found to learn Spanish through. The way the flash cards are set up is wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone serious about learning.

Excellent way to build a solid and useful vocabulary. What I love about this app is the categorization by learning level and topics. Even though it seems illogical that the numbers and other ordered words are random, they are nonetheless less thorough. Also, having contextual phrases is a big help. Even better would be adding a list of verbs, conjugations, and other points of grammar.

Great Korean Language App!. I was born in Korea but don't remember very much language anymore. This app provides the romanization and the correct pronunciation, just as a native speaker sounds. It also includes Korean writing which is a major plus. It is best to be able up read, write and pronounce languages correctly. I'm considering buying the pro version for only $9.99. No ads and lots more vocabulary to learn. All it takes is your best efforts and you'll pick up many useful words and phrases and no time.

I love it.. I love this app a lot!!! The only reason I'm giving this app four stars not five is because since I knew a lot of Korean before this so I wants to use this to track what level speaker I am and learn more but when I put it what all I knew and added it to the word bank it still wont list my progress tracker but maybe it will later. Other then that I love it; unlike a lot of other app's I've tried the native speaker is very clear and I can understand it great. Highly recommend!!!

Korean words couldn't be easier!. This is a great application! There has been a huge surge of 1 dollar applications online, and honestly content has become really lacking in a lot of applications, BUT this is one application that does actually have content. I found that this application is really worth it, not even monetarywise but in terms of my time. The interface is very smooth, and the functions on the applications work well and really help out! One aspect of the application that really stands out is the record function. Especially when learning a foreign language that is so different from your native tongue being able to hear yourself talk is in my opinion one of the most important ways to improve pronunciation! Great!

This app is great!. It has recorder so you can hear your pronunciations. Also it allows you to play the speed of the Korean sound. Great because most of Korean speaker is too fast for me to hear or pick up. There are many more levels too! It would nice if you could add pictures. I love this app. I might definitely buy the premium.

v1.5 update erases your wordbank! :-(. Although the v1.5 update gives you the ability to add more than one word a day, it also erases the wordbank that you might've built up over months by launching the app every day! This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional on the part of the developers, showing such disregard for their users' time & effort. Skip this update & wait for the next one that does NOT trash your hard-earned wordbank!! I'll change my rating from one star after they fix this.

Requires internet connection. Way too complicated. I just wanted a basic language learning app that didn't need an Internet connection all the time. It does seem to have a lot of features so many features it's confusing way too many bells and whistles. I'm tired of these apps that come off as really good and then when you get them to try to upsell you to a pro edition and they require an Internet connection anyways.

Useful. This is good since I couldn't find any better apps to show me basic Korean.

K.Host Mother. I appreciate tackling Korean at my own speed with the help of this program. Hearing the sounds and words numerous times helps since I am 50+years and haven't studied a foreign language for over 30 years. I wish the record option worked more consistently. It seems to be a lucky moment when I can listen to what I sound like. It would be helpful if I could use it more.

Pros and cons of just *one* word a day. At first I was quite frustrated with there being just one word a day, and if I missed a day (or days!) then I totally missed all the words/phrases I could've learned. Then I realized that this fact forced me to be consistent in my learning of new words/phrases - I had to open this app everyday to make the most of this app! As it is in the case of anything you want to make progress on, whether it's exercising, practicing a musical instrument or something else, studying/reading something, etc. regardless of the amount or time spent in one session, it's the consistency (frequency) that counts, even if it's just 5, 10 or 15 minutes, pages, words/phrases, etc. So I applaud what this app forced me to do. My only complaint left then is that sometimes a seemingly not so useful phrase is taught, but I guess that's subjective.

Pretty Good Setup... But.... I like this app. The word bank and flashcards are awesome. The audio and sample sentences are a great idea... But I was surprised at what sample sentences it doesn't give, like "Do you speak English?" Instead, it gives sentences like "Will you translate English into Chinese for me?" Many of these sample sentences are too complex and too specialized for me to use for a long time. Please update your sentences so that they meet the needs of someone who's learning Korean and needs a "handrail" into the language. Thanks.

Absolutely Wonderful. I have had this app for maybe 1 month and I already know how to say almost 200 words in Korean! I absolutely love it, but the only downfall is I am currently doing it for free so I can only learn a certain amount of words. Which is upsetting. To get the full version you would have to pay $10, but if you think about it, it’s fair. They are teaching you a whole language for $10!

Great app for starters. I plan on buying the full version. I really like the flash cards but there is one thing I think could make it more useful. I would like it if in the free & paid versions, you were able to edit the flash cards. I know for Korean there are multiple ways to say one word/phrase and being able to note the differences would be extremely helpful. Some of the pictures used for Korean words confuse me as well so being able to upload your own picture would be helpful too.

Wow. One of the best apps to lean Korean vocabulary for beginners

Good Supplementary App. You definitely need more than this app to learn Korean, but over time it's pretty useful. The vocabulary words have gotten more relevant, and they have added many more features since I first downloaded it over 2 years ago. After 2 years, I have a lot of words! Patience helps a lot with this app. My biggest complaint is the MASSIVE size of this app. I really wish there were a way to compact the data more efficiently. It drains a lot of space on my too-small iPhone, but if I delete the app I lose over 2 years of vocab. I'm not sure if an account backup exists, but that might help too. Generally though, good app. Update: over the last few weeks it hasn't been working. I try to enter the app and it gets stuck on the loading screen. It's sad, because I can't get new words or practice the old ones! Please fix this soon, and design a way for us to backup out words! I don't want to delete it and lose 2 years worth of accumulated vocabulary!

To working anymore. For some reason the app no longer works. :(

Poor file names. I have installed several of the WordPower Lite applications for different languages. The problem is that on the computer, they are all named "WordPowerLt 1.2.ipa" regardless of the language. When more than one of these applications is installed, then your hard drive will be filled with a bunch of files named ""WordPowerLt 1.2.ipa", ""WordPowerLt 1.2 1.ipa", ""WordPowerLt 1.2 2.ipa" and so on, regardless of the language. Even on the iPhone home screen, all the applications are just named "WordPowerLt". After opening each application on the iPhone and viewing the Info for each application, every one of them is just named ""WordPower Lite V1.2". This is just plain lazy and sloppy. Developers should not get lazy with file names. The name of the file on the hard drive and the name of the application displayed on the iPhone should all be the same as the name that is displayed in iTunes.

Love it. I think this app is helpful because I’ve always wanted to learn Korean. I plan on visiting Korea in the future

Free For You and Me - and still Great. I like the products made by Innovative Language, and the reason is that they are good about listening to reviews and updating. This application has some kinks that are still to be worked out, but having it as a free application really makes it far more accessible, and knowing their track record in terms of updating and improving this is a no brainer.

Great app for beginners. This app is really good and easy to use. It also has levels that are unlocked when you are confident in your abilities, so it helps you learn at your own pace no pressure and exposes you to the language slowly rather than overwhelming you with a lot of information.

Review on korean word press. Its ok but it's only 1 word a day so it takes to long for people and some people might even uninstall this software and change it so you should have a update to change it to 10 words a day! But overall it's good!!

I LOVE IT!!!. I'm a person that typically has trouble with anything academic. I failed my grade 8 math course and have to re-do it first semester next year. I also had no idea what was ever going on when I was in French Immersion for 6th and 7th grade at my elementary school. That's how horrible my brain is academically. I know learning Korean is a whole lot harder than learning French if English is your first language, but this app IS AMAZING!!! I've only spent about 15-20 minutes on this whole app, and I already know 13 expressions off by heart!!! I love this app and would recommend it to everybody!!!!

Very useful for those who can read Korean. This app without a doubt helps you learn Korean, but since Korean isn't a pictorial language you must find out how to read Korean first. Once you know the basics of reading Korean, you can practice reading while learning new words at the same time.

Pretty good. It works. If you can't read korean the recorded message does really help and is correctly pronounced. Only problem is that it does teach you some words that Koreans do find strange or outdated (they say it's how their grandparents talk). Regardless a good free app.

Don't expect to be fluent anytime soon. It's a nice interface, good recording, and a lot of interesting random words. With only one word per day available and no automatic reminder function, I manage to get about 10 words downloaded per month.

Liking it so far. I had to pay $10 to get the full package, but I find that I'm running through them pretty quickly

Great tool for learning Korean. Great tool to use as a companion to the Korean101 website. I would've given five stars if I didn't have so many issues downloading lessons for offline use.

Learning. It's pretty good for someone like me who doesn't know much. I love the pronunciation tool. Gets 4 stars because there should be more words per day. Great app though

Love it. I love this app, there are only a few things I would change. One is have sample sentences on all words. Two is highlighting the word in all the sentences. Three there is an illustration missing on the word lizard. Not that important to me, but some might need it. Four you also have the wrong word for shoe store, might change it. I like the way you change the words from different categories, it keeps it from getting boring. You can go to the study courses if you need to study the words from one category. No sound. I like the idea of this app and was finally figuring out how to incorporate it into my Korean leaning plan when the sound stopped working over a year ago. The new flash cards, word organisation, and design layout are very helpful. Unfortunately, the audio crash also happened with their Brazilian Portuguese app.

I like the app.. Maybe the word of the day could be put in some order. For example the days of the week, numbers, names of vegetables, etc. hope this helps.

Works great. This app is great for learning korean. I love the flash cards and how you can personalize them in the settings. For example I like to turn the romanization off after briefly looking over a category. Another great feature is the sentence examples for each word.

Useful learning how to use the word in sentences. This is very helpful in learning Korean because: You're Able to listen to pronunciation of the word and gives several ways of using that word in sentences which you can listen.

Great App. I never write a review for apps but I have decided that I will for this one. I am a recent graduate of university and have plans for teaching English in South Korea. Thus, I need to have at the least a basic understanding of their language. This app does just the thing. It is accessible, clear cut, and a great resource for my purposes.

Works great for memorizing vocabulary. I was looking for a way to learn commonly used Korean vocabulary and this app fits the bill. The only option I would add is to turn off romanization in the answer card.

BEWARE...Terrible app. I downloaded this app to see whether or not I should buy the full version. I deleted the app after three days. You get one word everyday which you add to your wordbank. The first word I got was the Korean word for "bra." Next day I saw the Korean for "one hundred milllion." On the third day popped in the Korean for "Kyoto" (which is also "Kyoto"). So I had three useless entries after 72 hours. Well...useless unless one intends to point to one hundred million bras in Kyoto. The upside is that they pronounce the words in probably perfect Korean.

Terrible Terrible Terrible Terrible!. I just bought an iphone and this app specifically will not download to my Iphone, but keeps trying to upload and sending me reminders to conenct to a wifi network or my laptop. It doesn't register on my home lcd on my iphone, but does so on my laptop. It CONSTANTLY is sending treminders to try different netwokrs. I have tried reformatting my phone, and reinstalling Itunes to get rid of this and it WONT GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't stop notifications.... ... even AFTER deleting app from phone. I deleted the app once I started receiving notifications and couldn't find where to turn it off. I'm still getting notifications in the middle of the night even though I no longer have the app on my phone at all.

So far, so good. Going to S Korea in a few days, this app has been helpful in learning/memorizing a few helpful phrases and greetings. I will use it throughout my stay in S Korea.

Good Quality. The app has a wide variety of ways to learn. Plus it has sentences to go with each vocabulary word which helps retention. In 4 years of working on Korean this is the best I've found.

Great...when it works! :(. I love the concept, but there are always problems. Sometimes the audio works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you can access the program, sometimes it crashes. You just never know day to day how the program will react. Again...great idea, but I can't recommend it. Too frustrating!

Good app, bad updates. I just upgraded to the new version, and they removed the functionality to listen to the words. There are also many words that don't have romanization now, so the only way to figure it out was to listen to it, but with that gone, this app is worthless. It was good before v3. Why did they have to go and ruin a perfectly good app? I had been using this app for months, so I had quite a few words saved up. Now I have to find another language app...

Awesome. There are so many great tools with this app. My favorite is the option to record yourself. This allows me to really hear where my pronunciation errors as compared to there recordings. Also love the sentence examples given for each vocab word.

Good features, bad new version. For a free app, lot's of great features and I found I was learning words fast. That said, I'm mad I lost so many of the words I learned in my Wordbank with the last upgrade. Also liked having the romanization even if it was hard sometimes. Wish iPad and iPhone versions would sync.

Helps with pronunciation & articulation. A year ago I began watching Korean dramas which were recommended to me on an entertainment app. As I continued watching I became interested in learning the language. This app is perfect because it helps me to pronounce & articulate clearer the words I already learned. Thank you!!!

I like it. This is a really good app. You will learn many useful words. The only change or suggestion that I would recommend is to make the sample sentences less difficult and not so long. For some of us that are beginners, it's hard to learn or get the benefit from the long sentence. Other than that, everything else is great.

Good but... Sometimes the romanization is off from he hangul which makes it distracting at times. I have learned to not look at the romanization and just the hangul. Besides that I love the huge vocabulary it provides.

Can't Figure Out How to View the Word of the Day. So, I upgraded to the new version of this app a few days ago, and I can't figure out how to view the new "word of the day"! It's really annoying. The updated version looks slick but at this point is useless for me if I can't access new vocabulary.

No longer works after upgrade. Did the upgrade and it's frozen on the homescreen and won't show the dashboard. Now the pnly thing this app is good for is a picture of a tree with the words "Learn Korean Vocabulary." I'll lose over 8 months of vocabulary words if I try to delete and reinstall app. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!! Update: Ended up deleting and re-installing app out of desperation, but still had the same problem. Deleted app altogether but I still get daily notifications that a new word is available. This app is total crap.

Daebak. Very clever and useful program. Every morning, I get the opportunity to learn a new word and to revisit old words. I am really glad I purchased this application.

login screen apparently broken. Looks like a great app. But I'm stuck on the "sign up" page. Neither the "no thanks" nor the "instant access" button are clickable. So, I literally can't use this app at all because the login screen appears broken.

Excellent tool!. My friends and family (who are from Korea) say that it's a good App with good pronunciation practice along with spelling words and hearing a fluent speaker.

Good. It's okay just wish I didn't have to wait every otherday to learn a new word but it's good enough being that it's free

great app. simple and it does it what it says. Don't listen to the guy who wants to learn it in polite yo form. Anyone who studied any language long enough will agree that learning the vocabularies in the dictionary form is very necessary since the conjugation depends on the dictionary form.

Love it!. This app is so useful to have since there are days when I don't have enough time to fully study Korean. The word of the days make that easy, along with the sample sentences

updated. I updated and I do have my word bank but the Romanization is gone. Too much stuff just keep it simple. I deleted it and now I'm sad I want the old one back. Cool photo add but it varies same with the French app that one has tons of issues. I'll come back later when bugs are out I really like this app team. So I do recommend them just give them time (also free or pay I would go with them) cheers.

Helps with pronunciation. It's really cool how they play the word for you and let you record it. After recording my voice I can tell how bad I am. Also I like using the flashcards. The one word a day is perfect. But the only problem with it is how odd the words they give you are. If u could pick your word it would b a five star.

I like it. This app is very helpful to me as an addition to a couple other apps in learning Korean. I think it helps a lot in learning the overall language if you learn the hangul(sp?) as well, but for people who just like the romanization this seems to do the trick. Now I just need to find something that will show how to form sentences and such...

I am getting the app! :). I already have the Serbian version and I LOVE it! I have already learned a lot! So I hope you will get it. And my friend knows Korean! And I know full Serbian! :P :)

Actually pretty good. Not only does it help me keep time but I actually remember the words! The way it's programmed is very repetitive and that really helps with learning a language. Repetition. And it's free so you can't go wrong there! Keep it up!! :)
