Storing Recipes shouldn’t be that hard. I tried this app and became very frustrated. As I was typing the prompt kept moving away, and what I was typing just stopped. I finally had the second recipe typed in and went to save when the screen swiped back to the main page and all info was lost. I use the save from URL feature for a recipe I wanted to try and it saved the URL which is not ideal if you are cooking in camp with no service, a place I find myself frequently. Bottom line, I am trying another app.

BigOven = Fabulous Recipe Manager & Grocery shopping. My family has been using BigOven for years now as our online recipe manager as well as weekly grocery shopping list. I have tried others briefly but I keep coming back to this one. It has lots of ways to get recipes I save and also manage outside recipes as well. I use this almost every day.

Always helpful for changing things up!. My family only likes it can eat certain foods. To make the same recipes time after time gets boring. I can always check with Big Oven for new ideas to make the same old thing something new and exciting. It helps me introduce new ingredients into our diets, too. Love it!

Great so far!. Just started using the app, it’s great that I can use leftovers and find new recipes for them easily. Even creating grocery lists is super easy. I just wish there were more diet choices because there is no “flexitarian” diet included.. Also it doesn’t make sense that you can’t add any recipes to the meal plan unless you subscribe for pro.. There should be a chance to test this with 3 recipes at least so one can try the app for a while.

The only sure way to add a recipe is to type it yourself.. I have had this app for many years and recently have been adding recipes for which there are four options including providing up to three scans for a full recipe. This option is a joke. In the case I have wanted to add recipes with a long list of ingredients BigOven completely disregards my scans and provides a recipe that isn’t even mine. It’s as if they don’t want to be bothered by a long list of ingredients. Ultimately disgusted by their unprofessional and casual disregard for the recipes I wish to add the only solution has been for me to type them myself. After many years it’s time to search for a new recipe app.

Happy Pro User. I use this app every week. It lets me neatly add and file my own recipes and any that I find within the app or online. It’s a breeze to add recipes from your favorite food blogs or sites. It easily scans the ingredients in my my weekly meal plans and makes a grocery list for me. I recommend using the BigOven shortcut in your browser toolbar for easily adding recipes from most sites (has to be in recipe format). This app has made meal planning a breeze for me. Thank you!

Unusable. I tried to enter a personal custom recipe by typing it in. There are no “smarts” to adding a recipe. It’s just a free text box that lets you type in anything, rather than letting you add ingredients one by one. I don’t need a recipe app for that - I could just use a notes app like Google Keep, Evernote, etc. I expect a recipe app to calculate nutrition facts, allow me to vary the portion sizes, etc. Not to be a limited notes app. But even that functionality doesn’t work. I can’t type ten characters without the app minimizing my keyboard and exiting the text field. And when I finally fought enough to put in my whole recipe and clicked save, the app crashed and all my work was lost. No thanks.

My First Stop When Looking For a New Recipe. I can always trust the ratings on Big Oven. I miss the old rating system where you could rate the recipes on whether or not you would make it again though. Those were very helpful. Something might be 5-star delicious but way too much work or have impossible-to-find ingredients...

Love this app. I love this app and I have been using it for several years. Using it to compile my personal recipe book and with the ability to customize recipes that I get from websites and magazines as well as putting in family recipes. I don’t do the scan feature as much but I love being able to edit and adjust the instructions to my liking. Which is adding the amount of each ingredient with in the list in the instructions. Preparing my grocery list is a huge plus and pulling it up on my phone while shopping. Thanks Big Oven!

Where do I begin???. I love this app. There are so many great recipes. You will never run out of recipes to try. Better than any cookbook you could own. You could spend hours just looking at all the pictures. It’s nice to have reviews and ideas that work and some that offer tips of things to try to change it up a little bit. It is wonderful to have so many people sharing their recipes.

First Recipe “Clipped” Didn’t Even Save Ingredients Correctly. I just tried saving my very first recipe to this app from a website, only to find that it didn’t copy the complete ingredients. I clicked on edit recipe under more options to fix the ingredients, only to find I need to pay for that service. I saw this app recommended on a Best Recipe Storage Apps article. I’m super disappointed that this is considered one of the best. It does not give me a lot of hope for the other apps recommended. On the other hand... Developers, Head’s up that there’s a huge opportunity in this space if you can simply get the ingredients of a recipe right! Or even just allowed people to correct any mistakes.

I’ve loved BigOven for years, needs minor fixes.. Problem with the current version (even after the most recent update) - I cannot attach photos from the mobile app to a recipe I’ve added. I keep getting a “failed to attach photo” error. Tried on multiple recipes with multiple different photos. Always the same error when adding a photo to a recipe on IOS12

Everything in one place. I used to save recipes on multiple sites. Then I couldn’t find them. Now they are all on big oven together. I can edit, make notes, customize, look up recipes that I need in one place. They also have thousands of recipes for me to search and compare. Plus, ratings and reviews. I love it.

A bit disappointed with the App/ Customer Service. Using the app was a bit clunky at first because some of the features were not available on the basic version, so you had to upgrade to the pro which I did not want to do before extensively testing this app. A lot of my questions to the customer service were answered by simply suggesting that I allow them to make the changes for me on their end, which is a bit strange given the fact that I want to be able to make all of my own changes. The customer service team did not seem at all concerned with my frustration, I was unable to link the Web app with the mobile app and that once again was tackled with a “why don’t you do it this way“ and so after a few hiccups I decided that I wasn’t going to mess around with it anymore. And once again The customer service department did not seem to care that I was going to look for a different app and not continue to use this one. So I cannot recommend this app to anyone for that reason, I recommend that you guys find an alternative.

Not bad.... Not a bad app, but it’s really glitchy. It doesn’t sync very well with the website, and the photos don’t seem to appear, even when it says they have been accepted. Force closing the app does not help either. You can’t edit directly in the app, it takes you to the site and then syncs down. Very clumsy. It’s good as there doesn’t seem to be a hard limit on number of recipes. However it seems like more of a community recipe sharing site (which bis great if that’s what you’re looking for!) rather than a personal recipe box. Overall good, but app needs work.

Not user friendly. Where are my recipes?. I like that I can add recipes I’ve gotten online by just typing in the web address as well as my own handwritten ones. However, this is where the positives end. This app is not very user friendly. I’ve tried to add about 4 (online) recipes now. The first one added seamlessly and I can find it in my recipes collection. The second wouldn’t import at all. The other two supposedly added but I can’t find them anywhere except my activity feed. Why won’t they show up with the other recipes if they supposedly added? I have to either “favorite” them or mark them as “try” in order to even see them again. I even tried to close the app and restart it. Nothing. If I wanted to go to great lengths to find a simple recipe or sift through all my recipes just to find what I’m looking for, I would have just kept the notecard box. This app? Not worth it!

Love this app. I love this app how did a few years back and delete it for a bit but now that I am working again and living with my boyfriend and roommateI carpool with to work,we all need recipes that are easy for meal planning plus can fit the criteria of her being able to take to work being she works at a Jewish community center so she hast to take foods that are kosher that she can put in the same fridge as the rabbis and recipe she can keep cold because right now due to Covid they’ve taken away our microwaves

Love Big Oven. I love the Big Oven App. I use it every time I need to search for a recipe, sometimes almost daily. It is so easy to use and the pictures are very helpful. There are a variety of recipes and I can always find at least one that works for me. Searching is much easier than in other apps.

Spotty Searches of My Recipes. I have paid for and used Big Oven Pro for 8 years now. I like that no matter where I travel I can have my recipes with me. I have thousands of recipes that I have input and saved into folders that help me meal plan, shop and cook each week. However, I am very disappointed that I am not always able to find the recipes I know I saved to a specific folder. (Also, when I open the folder it shows there are 30 recipes, but only 2 show in the list to open). They just do not come up in my search. At that point, I have to go back through my meal plans several months to find the recipe I want to cook with. At that point I can open the recipe I need directly from the meal planner. This problem has been going on for several months without any up dates to fix the problem. Very disappointing ☹️

Game changer. Love this app and haven’t had to upgrade to pro. This is what every busy family needs. I added recipes for the week into my favorites and then loaded the ingredients into my grocery list. This made grocery shopping a breeze (I swiped the items we already had at home) it definitely saved my money! I’ve made two of the meals so far and they were big hits with my family. We were sick of the same dinner rotations we’ve been eating for the past five years and I’m not creative enough to do it on my own. So yeah def get this app!

Versatile and Useful App. The fact that BigOven works across platforms, combined with the ability to share things like grocery lists, make this app incredibly useful. The recipes I have made have all been really good. I appreciate being able to add recipes from anywhere on the internet too. Meal planning saves money and we eat healthier meals when they are thought out. I recommend BigOven to people all the time and I have for well over 5 years.

Crashes too much. I am looking to replace Recipe Keeper and are looking at other apps. Big Oven has a lot of promise, but the one annoying thing is that it crashes very frequently. I have an iPhone 11 and latest iOS installed. I also noticed that when you create a shopping list, it does not include the quantity of the ingredient being added. I can’t believe this was left off. If you have multiple recipes with requiring chicken, for example, how do you know much to buy? Hopefully, the crashes will get fixed, but for now I’m removing it.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Existing issues NEVER addressed. Sent countless emails just to receive a response saying they’re gonna update the app soon. They updated it this time and not a single issue has been fixed. This dev team is horrible and the app has never improved in years. Go elsewhere. UPDATE: No I won’t contact your support again because they do nothing!!! Same issues: if you edit the recipe it DOESN'T SAVE IT!!! Only way to view it is via editing it again to see updated recipe!! Ridiculous!! Also not being able to change privacy from mobile. On and on and on.

Want to like it but too many glitches. This app seems like a dream come true in a lot of ways – I got it because I wanted to be able to add my recipes from my books to a digital format. But when you upgrade to the pro membership, you have to purchase recipe scans, which quickly run out. Then you have to buy more. A lot of people i’ve already complained about this, so whatever. That’s not my main issue anyway. This app is full of glitches. If you rate a recipe, and then change your mind about how you feel about that recipe, if you try to change the rating, the app simply shuts down. It seems that you can’t alter anything, once you finalize it. You can’t change your own recipes, even if you make an error. And you can’t remove recipes from a collection- if you try to, then it deletes ALL of the recipes in that collection. I can’t give up on this app, because I’m already too invested in it. It has all of my recipes in it. It would be way too troublesome to try and switch to a different app, but I am sick and tired of the glitches. I’m tired of paying money every month for this app, when there are so many problems with it. Why won’t people fix it?? I know I’m not the only person complaining about these things. But it seems like the people who made this app just don’t care. They’ve got you by the balls, and they know it.

Great for Keto Diet Planning. I specifically use this for Keto/Low Carb diet planning and I love it. I’m sure it works just as well with other plans as well. As I chose Low Carb preference, everyday the home page shows new recommended Low Carb recipes for me. Love that. With the pro I can organize all my recipes just how I want them. I can create my own recipes or make others Keto. I love that I can control exactly what ingredient it is reading to give me correct nutritional amounts. Love the meal planning. I took off a star because the recipe import feature doesn’t work very well. Mostly from Wordpress sites, which most bloggers use these days. They need to develop a wordpress plugin like Yummly did to make it easy for us to post to BigOven and it would also promote their app. I just did not like Yummly, so I manually do most recipes. Fortunately, most recipes I find are already in Big Oven! This thing does not lack for choices in low carb / Keto recipes. It’s truly mind boggling. I could not see where we could link one recipe into another and if you could add it’s nutritionals. For example, Eggs Benedict, would love to incorporate or at the least link to my low carb hollandaise sauce. Now it could be here but I haven’t figured it out yet! Anyway, I have tried all the apps on the market and this really is the best one I have come across. The most recipes, nutritionals, meal planning, grocery list, organization.

Get out of your cooking rut!. After years of cooking for the family, I was in a cooking rut. I realized I was making the same things over and over with little variation. The busier we all got, the deeper that rut became. This app helped me get out of it. I have found so many wonderful new recipes to add to our repertoire and have had lots of fun experimenting and looking for new dishes to try! Thank you, BigOven!!!

Lots of Options but Improvement Needed. This app has tons of recipes. I’m trying out the PRO version, and I am liking it, except for some kinks.....within the Meal Plan, there isn’t an option to DELETE recipes added to the meal plan. Once added, you’re stuck with the recipe, thereby cluttering your meal plan. Another drawback is the Home Page dashboard. It’s USELESS!!! Instead of pictures of dishes, I’d rather see the COLLECTIONS tabs OR the BY COURSE tabs (both of which are currently buried within the search function)...too many steps to get to them. I like the Grocery List and the ability to select/adjust my serving size, so that I don’t buy more groceries than needed.

Great for Solo... Families? Meh.. So I'm a premium user and Big Oven is awesome for me. I like that it let's you adjust how many probs you're making then automatically calculates grocery list. So if a recipe calls for 1/4 Tblespoon and you're making a double portion...BOOM! Your grocery list has 1/2 Tblespoon. Nice. However... Adding my wife allows her and I to share the grocery list only!! She asks me all the time for what recipes I'm using. You have to fix that. The ability to share or pin recipes to each other's views (esp. within a premium family plan...) would make this a much better app and would seem a no brainer to add a "Family Favorites" folder for instance.

Great app - use it every week.. I use this app almost every week to plan meals for the week, and it automatically builds my grocery list which I can then open at the store and check items off the list as we go through the store. I upload recipes from the internet that I like, and use the search capabilities to get recipe ideas. The support is good too. I wish the iPhone app grocery list made it a little harder to check things off. I often inadvertently mark something off the list just by scrolling down the list using my thumb on the side of the screen. It has an undo button but when I’m at the store I dont always notice it until I’ve left the store and don’t have everything on my list. It should have a confirm button or some second step before crossing it off the list. Thanks!

Great, fun, easy recipes!. I use it not only to find recipes for something I have a hunger for but also to give me ideas for new favorites. Easy to use. Excellent app. It covers all types of food. I can find vegan recipes for me, vegetarian for my daughter, and traditional American meals for my husband. We use it every weekend to plan the week’s meals and the shopping list. I have recommended this app to so many people. They love it as well.

Old version is a far better app. This new version is terrible. Can’t add recipes to “favorites” or to “to try” lists. While it did import those lists from the older version when I signed in, when I tried to print one of those recipes the app crashed. When I reopened the app, the recipe I had tried to print had disappeared from my list. This app is not an improvement at all. I will stick with the older version and if that one stops working eventually I guess I will have to find another recipe site unless you improve this one. Very disappointed in Big Oven as you are generally my go to source for good recipes, the main reason being that your app was so easy and had great features.

Best Recipe App EVER!. I absolutely love ❤️ love ❤️ love this app! I can type in “ground beef”and it’s gonna give me dozens of recipes with ground beef! I can type in “chicken” and it’s going to give me dozens of recipes for chicken! I love the starring system! It lets you know which recipes are the best! I have yet to try a recipe I didn’t love from here! There’s just so much! And it’s so easy to use!! Thank you Big Oven for making cooking fun! And for giving me and my family so much more variety!

Used to love, but now it’s totally broken. I’ve used this app for many many years and I’ve always loved it. Lately it’s turned into the absolute worst app I have ever used. When I’m at the grocery try store I want to be quick and efficient, but whenever I open this app sometimes the items I have added are already marked off when I haven’t even gotten them - making it incredibly confusing. Even after closing and reopening the app several times it seems to fix it at first but then it immediately breaks. I can’t help but wonder if all the ads are making it broken or if they want you to upgrade on purpose?

Almost perfect. I’ve been using this app for a while and enjoy the recipes. I like that there are different versions so you can pick and choose and you can search by ingredients. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because you can’t search by cooking method. I’d like to see a sorting option for grilling, slow cooker, etc.

Food Network Recipes NOT clipping on any of my platforms. I have been a pro user for almost 4 years and would have rated it 4.5 stars. Three weeks ago Food Network recipes quit clipping. I worked with customer support, sent them examples and screenshots, and still the problem has not been solved. If the problem isn’t solved pretty soon, I will look elsewhere. If your agreement with Food Network has expired just tell us. I just don’t want to keep trying and be frustrated by the failure.

CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT!!. LOVE this app! All your recipes at your fingertips on your phone where you can access them at the grocery store. Share with friends or on Social Media. The shop feature is great. The only issue I have is with "clip recipe" from web. Out of the 10 times I have tried to use this has only worked twice. I know this feature is only compatible with recipes from certain sites, just wish it would accept any recipe from less popular sites. But I still love it! I also really love that I can take a photo of one of my Grandmother’s handwritten recipes and save it to my recipes on the app. A MUST HAVE for cooks you can find so many new recipes and rediscover old favorites!

Busy mom. This app is a lifesaver for my budget and for my family eating healthy meals. I can plan the whole month, put it on the grocery list, and check the night before To see what I’m cooking the next day. I do a lot of freezer meals and meal prep. This is a lifesaver for me because sometimes I only have 30 minutes to throw a meal together. I want my kids to eat good healthy food. It’s important for this to happen when they’re young so they know how to eat when they grow up. Love this app

Great for working parents. This app has been not just a help but a necessity with planning family meals. Stepdad (who must be gluten-free and dairy-free) finds dishes and makes a meal plan for the week. Then Mom grocery shops and chefs it up. No more “oh no what’s for dinner” and we then list the meals on the whiteboard so the kids know (and mom doesn’t have to hear “what’s for dinner?”) I was skeptical at first but it’s super great, so convenient, if you try it you’ll see.

Kind of Unremarkable. Eh. I didn’t really like this app. It does have some technical problems, and a family member of mine couldn’t open it. It’s kind of boring, too, which is why I barely visit it nowadays. The home section doesn’t have much there; you can’t even scroll, and I prefer apps that let me scroll for recipes. As I mentioned in the reviews title, this app is pretty much unremarkable. Putting it simply; to me, this app is boring, has more technical difficulties than other cooking apps I have tried, and the layout isn’t appealing to me. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t that I necessarily hate this app, but it’s not for me. Try it out for yourself and see if you like it. However, it isn’t an app that I enjoyed having, or one that I want to keep.

What happened. I have used this for 2 years plus and hace always had a great experience- i have come to rely on it a great deal and now i go to renew my pro and I’ve done it 3 times but cannot make a grocery list or add recipes despite having paid to update ! It keeps telling me to update- these things happen right? BUT NO ONE WILL GET BACK TO ME! I have all my recipes and can no longer use this to meal plan and organize m household AND I’m out the money i paid - i am so frustrated

Great time saver. I do love this out, and I use it every week to plan my meals. I’ve had no trouble with adding in recipes or editing from other sources to customize for my use. My biggest complaint would be the grocery list… I’ve used other grocery apps in the past that I was able to customize the categories to correspond with the way I shop, and they also were able to save commonly purchased items that ended up on the list every week. I find myself editing the categories of most items that I put on my grocery list every week as the assumed categories are inaccurate. Fixing this feature would make this the ultimate grocery and meal planning app.

Always a pricing mystery. Sometimes the in-app purchases have no relationship to what's going on in the app, sometimes it's only some that don't. This has a straight forward month or year's change but then what are the credits? All I can figure is that some of us see through the broken matrix and use the credits to seal things. 😛 I'll just leave it as is when it breaks. Why not?

Glitchy Disappointment. I had high hopes for this app, and I don’t understand how it has such high reviews. I tried adding recipes from my phone and using the desktop recipe clipper, both with mixed results. I understand it has to do with how the recipe is coded, but Pinterest is reading the ingredients list just fine. Also, it seems the app is just a mobile version of the website, which causes it to be difficult to use and to view. Sadly, I think I’ll have to move on to another app, because this one isn’t worth the time.

Cooking teacher’s daughter. As the daughter of a home economics teacher, I am not afraid to substitute items during baking. The Big Oven app gives me the option of comparing recipes and modifying them as needed to suit my family’s taste. I also enjoy the option of being able to add additional notes to myself about a recipe, or search on a pantry item that I have and I want to use in my baking.

Didn’t do what I needed. I downloaded this app on my iPad because I had many written or printed copies of recipes that I wanted to get online and also be able to search. The details said that you could scan written recipes, but what they don’t tell you is that you only get three free scans with the free version. I understand that you get more with the paid Pro version, but you still will end up paying to scan your own recipes when you go over that limit. It was a moot point anyway since the scan would never show up in the app. I also was unable to save any recipes from websites. It kept coming up saying that the save didn’t work. There also are some ads that interfered with search boxes. The keyboard kept disappearing and flickering. Very disappointing since I had high hopes of this app. Will keep searching.

Wanted to like this app.... A lot of resources has gone into the making of this app and service. I wanted an app specifically designed for scanning and cataloging recipes. Unfortunately, after signing up for the pro service to use the 30 day trial, the app/service didn't do what I wanted. You are limited in the number of recipes you can scan unless you pay more. And if you want to add community recipes to your own book, you can't edit them in any way. I attempted to cancel my subscription via their support center (I was less than 30 days into the trial) but I still got charged for the full pro service. After filing a second ticket, I still have gotten no response to either request. The service and app might have a lot of resources put into their importing algorithms and community contributions, but their support center is in dire need of help. I cannot recommend Big Oven to people.

So disappointing…. I have used the Big Oven app for years. Liked it a lot. Sadly, it has become all but unusable on my phone. Intrusive ads and dialogues make it seemingly impossible to get to a screen where I can actually view the recipe’s directions. I do multidimensional visual data analytics and data science for a living. If i can’t figure out how to view the directions it is way too hard! Please fix it!! I find myself using other recipe apps way more often these days as a result.

Not liking the upgraded app. I’m still a fan of the original app. Once they upgraded it I find the meal planning section to be clunky. I liked the meal planning when it was shown with a calendar view. Also once you click on a meal for a specific day, the instructions won’t open to full screen on my iPad which is extremely frustrating. It seems like whoever designed the app does not cook using it. When I’m cooking I want to be able to quickly go into my meal plan, click on the recipe and have it open to a full screen so I can read it. In addition I cannot delete ingredients from a recipe before sending them over to my shopping list. If I have the ingredient already at home I don’t want it on the shopping list. The shopping list has glitches, marking things off when they should remain on my list(super frustrating). Pictures don’t always upload when recipes are added. I can no longer import recipes from the Food Network, where I pull the majority of my new recipes and so I’m starting to migrate my recipes over to the Food Network app. For these reasons I’m still using the old app. I would hate to move to a new cooking app since I’m invested in this one already but it’s been over year since my last post and no changes have been made. You’ve removed my recipes from the old app so I’m forced to use this new one that I truly hate.

Your site is awful!. I’d give it no stars if I could! I’ve had this app for years and every time I try to look at a recipe I get smothered in ads, pop-ups, videos of unrelated things and can’t even get to the full recipe. Now you have these little heart and search symbols on the side so when I try to scroll the hearts go floating across the screen. You’ve positioned them in a ridiculously stupid place. It may help your likes but it’s a lie and very distracting. I finally decide to just got to the recipe and then there are all of these videos or ads sliding behind the content. There may be a great recipe but I finally quit because there is sooooo much junk that I’m worn out before I even get started! Then if I try to print the recipe because I find it easier to read than trying to use your app, your app makes it almost impossible to print a recipe alone! It has ads all throughout the recipe! I understand the need for ad dollars but when it ruins the pleasure of your site you’ve gone too far! Clean up your site! We are the customers and if we can’t come to your site with ease will stop coming and then your ad dollars will decrease. I hope you all take this seriously because I am getting to the point of deleting this app and banning you from my email list!

Well done!. I absolutely love “Big Oven”, it is super convenient and great for last minute dishes. I just pull it up in my phone and whether I am at the market getting ingredients or in the kitchen there is always something exciting to try and often with several different options. Love it!!!

iPad My recipes still crashing. This app is great but the last update did not fix the iPad crashing bug. It still exists after re-installing the app. iOS 13.7, iPad Air 2.

Metric, metric, metric, metric, metric, metric, metric, metric, metric, metric!!!!!!!. Hey America - great app but useless in modern countries who are using the metric system - you know - decimal base 10 units. If you designed the app such that the writer of a recipe might be able to enter their ingredients and portions in their own unit of measure, and the reader might then also be able to dset a pref and display in their own units. Not hard guys!!!!! Otherwise mouth-watering! :)

Novice. Great app! I use it a few times a week. I especially like the feature where you type in foods you have in your cupboard and it gives you recipes you can try! Well worth downloading.

So handy!!. I love the 'use up leftovers' feature. It's so handy towards the end of the week when the fridge is running low & the bank account is even lower!! Fabulous app!!

Take your money. I just had $33 taken out of my account for this app that was supposed to cost like $4! Unsolicited thieves on IStore.

Love this app. Really handy, easy to use. Amazing variety of recipes. The only issue is that with the latest update a flashing annoying Facebook bar (I think it's an ad or something to link the app to Facebook??) appears on every page and it froze my phone. Other than that awesome app.

Searched but found nothing. Inconsistent Recipes. No metric. Searched and searched, I didn't find anything appealing (bit like channel surfing cable). Need to trawl through it a bit more: 160,000 recipes... must be a few gems in here somewhere. Desktop version might be easier as view only shows 5 recipes at a time, not great when there are 20 pages of the stuff. Slow. Glossary is somewhat useful.

Wide range of recipes and easy to use. User friendly and includes using leftovers option which allows you to search for recipes including preset ingredients. Genius.

Awesome App. I love big oven, I have put so many people on to it, there is millions of recipes to choose from, with step by step instructions, it’s so easy to use, I highly recommend it. 👍👍👍👍👍

Handy to have. I love cooking, so when my cooking bug kicks in and my mind thinks over time I always go to big oven app for hints, tips & ingredients. Great app to have to use at the store if you are having a mental blank!!!

After finding this, there will be NO other!. I love this book! The recipes are for any average everyday family meals. Nothing fancy, just easy and tasty meals. There are also meals for all pallets, health conditions and weight loss. Who would need any other cook book? It’s like the Wikipedia of cook books.

Kept linking me to gambling spam. Every time I clicked the recipe page it forcibly opened up the App Store and directed me to various gambling apps. Deleted after five minutes.

no metric system. There is no metric systems, hard to use, have to go to another app to convert recipes, and there no categories

Good idea, could be better. Excellent concept but needs to be refined -- there is no "metric" option which makes it harder to use in most of the world. Also, the favourites function didn't work for me and the presentation/UI of the app could be improved. I look forward to seeing this app further developed

Painful. Painfully over complicated with regards to just trying to input your own recipe list. Not a great sign up experience when you're prompted to buy the upgrade when the account creation kept crashing (also still waiting for my sign in email?). Had high hopes and am not easily disappointed but this app let down right from the start.

Still the best recipe app on iPhone. It has a few issues with crashes now and then, which is inconvenient when using it while shopping, but overall I can't think of a better recipe app on iOS, and I use it all the time.

Best Ever !!. This IS the BEST APP I have ever come across, sensational 4 wen ur single & don't know what you feel like eating/ cooking! Either search with left-overs, OR start from scratch a wonderful lunch/ dinner ! So easy a child could/can do it !! 10/10 ! I just LOVE THIS APP!!

Excellent. Although the vast majority of recipes are American in both ingredients and measurements, this App is invaluable in the kitchen. I usually adapt recipes where needed. I use this a lot and fond it's very often my first "go to" place when looking for a new recipe

Love it. I am a complete cooking buff so to have so many recipes in the phone makes it so much easier. Even if something strikes me last minute I can check out the recipe and shop at the store without having to worry.

Love it!. This app is fantastic! Have been searching for an app like this which provides recipes and lets me plan weekly menus for ages and couldn't believe that it was free and does absolutely everything! Best of all there are no annoying ads!! I'm recommending it to everybody I know.

Unable to correct major system errors. If you are looking for a recipe software for creating menus and making grocery lists forget this one. I have been in contact with them for over 3 months and am still unable to do any of these, which is exactly why I subscribed in the first place. What a complete waste. Look for something else

Years of use. I've been using big oven for a couple of years now and I love it. My adult child is linked into my login and he puts suggestions in the daily planner so I don't have to decide what we eat all the time.

Was a great app until recently!!. I have loved using it for quite a while until a week or so ago. Now every time I open the app it opens up the App Store to another app page...EVERY SINGLE TIME!! And multiple times, each time I go back to Big Oven it does the same thing. It won’t let me stay in Big Oven, always flicks opens the App Store!?!?!! It’s proving so frustrating as I can’t use Big Oven properly! Unless the bug is fixed soon I will be looking for a replacement!

Fantastic for Shopping after Work. This application has changed the way I shop. On the way home from work I stop at the supermarket and get all the ingredients for dinner. Having the recipes on my phone is heaps more convenient than paper cookbooks that sit on the shelf and only get taken out on weekends. PS: I use the free iPhone app called Units to convert USA measurements into metric.

:). This is quite a good app! It's so useful when u don't know what to make and when u want to know what u can make with the ingredients u have. It could maybe include a converter so ppl can use it if they can only use the metric system like Australians not Americans. Also, it's kind of sad for us users that we have to pay to be able to use the better features. Otherwise, wow it's great!

Review. I really like this app. I don't often have to make food but when my wife is unavailable I can just look something up and follow the recipe. Easy as!

Essential tool. This the the App I use every day when planning meals. Search functions work well and there is recipe for every dish or ingredient I have ever thought of. And now I look forward to taking my favorite recipes to my holiday house where I have no Internet. But I do still have to go to the Internet for some recipes - especially where the US name is different from the Australian

Stop wasting money on cookbooks!. Really great app, I now use this instead of purchasing cookbooks and cooking magazines. Love that you can search for what you want to make and save favorites etc really good!

Great idea, carelessly executed. My main gripes with this app is... 1. the inability to sync Meal Plans across accounts in the same household 2. The awful View Recipe view you’re left with when a recipe has been added from a third-party website. Marketing and Video pop-ups, Ad overlays, massive font issues... If you’re going to redirect to third-party recipes at least learn how to scrape the data and provide streamlined content in your app! I’ve paid for the PRO this month but I doubt I’ll keep this up if these issues aren’t addressed.

It's got the lot, & More. Fancy being able to adjust the recipes for us depending on how many we cook for. Just great! And the ability to photo our recipes and upload them to be converted to text? Fantastic!

Fantastic. Love it!! It's my cookbook for everything and best thing is I can take it with me in my pocket so when I'm at the store and I forget what ingredients I need I can just pull out my phone and get on here and find out! I love that I an share it on facebook cos all my friends who don't have an iPhone or smartphone ask me for recipes all the time. It's the best app ever and the person that said they weren't happy cos once they signed up they had to pay for the services I don't know how that happened cos it's been totally free for me!!!

The best app. I've never really cooked before and was relieved to find this. Now I really enjoy cooking. You can start simple and build yourself up to more complicated dishes. Plus it is a money save if you plan ahead and use similar things for different dishes. This has been a lifesaver!

A must to download. Great App... And it's free!! Those times when you don't know what to cook - this app has a random recipe button so it gives you the ideas!!! All recipes that you can think of at your fingertips!!

Not that fresh. This is a good ap for organizing your menu plan, grocery shopping, etc. Yet the recipes in its library are classic why-we're-an-unhealthy-obese-society recipes. There is only one fresh vegetable ingredient in the "recent raves" list (steamed broccoli). If you want to know how to make your grandma's cheesy-buttery casserole this ap is for you. If you're looking for healthy inspiration, look elsewhere. It's too bad because the organization and functionality of the ap is great.

Sounds great, but falls short.. App was recommended. I downloaded with delight. Could not log in, make an account. Quite frustrated however, the customer support was EXCELLENT and I had an account made in minutes with their help. I started using the app and scanned a recipe that was subsequently typed up. I got a few free before a 59 cent charge would apply. This happened super quick. Then I took a photo to upload to the recipe but it didn't load. I had saved it in a private list of my own recipe and I could not load a photo. Massively unhappy. Found out later, through an email telling me my photo was approved, that that is the process. It is my own recipe in my own private recipe section, surely I could have put a photo of a poo if I wanted without it having to be approved. Sharing it to a public forum, I can understand the need to approve photos, but I had not done this. I then typed in an easy quick recipe. It didn't save. I didn't want to use one of my 'free' uploads on a recipe that takes 2 minutes to type in. Disappointed yet again. All in all, the website is great, the customer service is excellent, however, I don't have the time to muck around with a website and this is what has turned me off paying for this site. Had it been free altogether I would have perservered. Hope this review helps you make a decision. it is not intended to be negative or positive.

Great collection of recipes!. I use this app almost every time i need a recipe. It's great for walking around the shop trying to decide what to cook for dinner. Metric to imperial conversion is a little off but that can be worked around. Other than that I think its great. Get on it! Moses

Fantastic (sooo  awsum!!). This app is the best recipe  program on my iPod . All the things I've cooked up  have been delicious ! (Note for other peoples: if you can't deal with these recipes  not being having metric  mesurement then get  the program units. It'll convert anything for ya.) So big clap  and smile  for this one! Well done! 

I cook now because of this app!!. This app is brilliant - I have never really cooked before, it all seemed too hard but for months now I have been making nice family meals because of this app. If I get an idea for dinner when at the grocery store I can easily look up recipes and buy what I need. Also great planning functions. Only added thing would be more dietary\calorie info . Love this app!!

Great Recipe Library. I love this app, I have found so many new favourite recipes, and they are so easily saved into folders like "to try" and "favourite". So much better than other recipe apps I've tried.

Accounts?. Why use an accounts system it doesn't make sense it only makes it harder to use the favorites section as opposed to saving the favourites localy on the device Also could do with an icon update as the current one doesn't go with the standard background on iPod or iphone

So far so good. Mainly using the app for my grocery list and has been working well. Makes life a lot easier . A few things that would make this app better would be to have the ability to organise the order of the list so you don't have to go up n down through the list to match the area of the supper market you are in eg fruit section is the first section my supermarket has so would like this list at the top of my list. Also the ability to sync my grocery list with my wifi and either of us add items and update the list . Other than those issues great we app

Good start. This kind of app is long overdue on the iPhone. This is a good start guys but some room to make it really great. I have used Big Oven on a PC for over a year, I really like using it to enter in my favourite recipes from my many cook books, from magazines and that I receive on bits of paper from friends. Easy to find them all in one place. You just need a login to their website and you can enter as many as you like. I have been wishing and a hoping for this to then be available on my iPhone so I can find a recipe when on holidays, at the supermarket etc. This app does just that if you save the recipes as Favourites, just open the app and hit the heart, but it looks like it is not saving the recipes locally on the phone so you need a wifi or phone connection. It would be great if the Favourites and Try Soon recipes were local on the phone. Other functionalitIy that would be great to bring accross to iPhone is shopping list, meal planner etc. Perhaps have this in a paid app for a small fee. This kind of app is so useful and Big Oven have been doing this for a while so seem to have the backend website to support it.

Awesome cooking community. Such a handy app for coming up with new ideas and learning new recipes. I love the different search criteria and the community participation by adding photos & reviews. So much more user friendly than a recipe book! Thanks big oven :D

Buggy. I just downloaded the app today and was so excited! Upgraded to pro so I could add recipes and create a shopping list for an event coming up. But some functions seem really buggy. I copied someone else's recipe to edit for myself because their ingredients hadn't imported properly and they aren't updating. When I click 'edit' everything looks great but after hitting save and checking, they are still showing as the previous version. Photos won't save after neigh added to a recipe imported using the RecipeScan function. Also I cannot remove recipes I have added :( Would be 5 stars without these issues :)

Very handy. I can see this app being very handy when stuck with left over ingrediance. Very east interface and for once I'm not annoyed by the adversment good programing. You do lose a star because u can't save recipes to ur iPhone. Taking screen shots work but only for short recipes, app work rock evenmore with this option

Entering Recipes Manually Buggy. When trying to enter my personal recipes, the App keeps kicking keyboard entry out. Very frustrating!

Sync issues. The app has terrible syncing problems. Basically every time I edit a recipe I need to delete the app and reinstall to see the changes, and same to be able to edit a recipe after I add it. I wrote support and this is a known issue but I give up, there’s other apps out there. They also allow duplicate submissions of the same recipe when adding by URL, so you search for a recipe and there’s duplicates in the results — bad data control.

Great for date night. I work away and so this app is perfect for finding a recipe ahead of time I want to prepare for my family when I get home. There are so many great ideas to choose from.

Good but could easily be great. I like this app but for me it is missing an essential feature. That would be some way to archive favorite recipes offline on the iPhone. Even if that was simply an email recipe button. Currently you require Internet access to search for a recipe and if you find one you like you can't save of or print it out for later without Internet access again. More frustrating is that you have to re-search for a recipe if you close the application and reopen. Add this functionality and this would be a 5 Stat app for me.

Good recipe book. It's a good app to keep our recipe and have idea from other ... but... we lost our calendar for our menu planner (in iPad). It was easy to print the menu for the week. I still old version for my meal planner I miss my calendar meal planner

Messy. The UI is one of the messiest I’ve seen for this sort of app. It turned me off instantly. I tried managing it but no dice. Overpriced, underdesigned. This needs a severe rehaul, I don’t understand how people see using it as pleasant.

Tons of recipes, many useful features, pretty easy to figure out.. Some features are not available with the free version of the app but it’s still pretty good. I recommend it.

not bad. This seems to be a great app, untill you try to add a favorite recipie say that was your grandmothers secret recipe. You have to apparently do this online which means its not yours anymore. I want an app like this one but one that I can put private recipies into.

Still needs fixes. I've had this app for over two years. I finally subscribed to the Pro version and, after some tweaking and experimentation, took my mother's 40+ yr old pot roast recipe with sour cream sauce, which I adapted for my new Instant Pot, public. However, I'm still frustrated with the iOS app. My edits never show up in the app's version of the recipe...it never changes from what I first typed in. For some reason, the app version failed to include the last two ingredients (I had to add them in a note), a time change I made to the web site version, and minor grammatical changes made to the instructions. The only way to change it in the app is to delete it and start over and I don't want to do that again. The changes only appear in the web site version, but I want them to work for people who see the recipe in the app as well. I even wrote to support about this issue weeks ago, before the holidays, and they haven't fixed this problem yet. This is so frustrating! What's the point of having a function to edit your recipe in the app if it doesn't work in the app?

MERVEILLEUX! Marvelous! Wonderful!. User friendly! It pulls thousands of recipe from all over. I like the fact that I can add recipes. And that Leftover component, how handy is that. Great app but a few annoyances. It’s very well done and the integration with the grocery list is excellent. The issues I have are: All of your personal recipes should be on the device in offline mode so you can do shopping lists without cellular data It’s annoying to have to go out of the app for instructions on recipes found on other websites but I understand why they do it It should consolidate groceries (i.e. if you have 1 red pepper each for three recipes it will put 1 red pepper down three times on the grocery list. It should at least also group them together. 50 recipes for the free edition isn’t quite enough. I’d be willing to put up with ads to or a small onetime app fee get a few more but the monthly charge is far too much for the casual husband who uses it once or twice a week.

Echo many previous comments. Having to use the website version for certain tasks as the mobile versions are limited is quite frustrating. Poor syncing between website and mobile versions. Search function is also frustrating as is inability to delete recipes on mobile version. However recipe ideas are helpful as is the auto populating grocery list. It’s as if there are 2 separate groups of developers that don’t communicate with each other - one for the web version and one for the mobile platforms.

Sucks. The simplest thing ever, typing in the name of a dish I would like to look up, and I can't do it. Instead I have to try and scroll through hundreds of recipes to try and find the one I want. The old ver. was much better.

Hire a Designer. Adding groceries is painful. Has anyone building this app ever tried to use the add groceries functionality for adding more than one item? For ten? It used to be just type and hit enter, keep tying to add another. But some genius changed it to type hit enter, wait for response from server and refresh (which doesn’t actually refresh the list), click a button, wait for new screen to render, then you can type the next one.

Love it!. I’ve been using this app for years and I now have over 250 personal recipes saved on it. It’s so easy to use and helpful when I need something in the grocery store. It’s right on my phone. I can look up the recipe and see what ingredients I need. No more little pieces of paper in the kitchen holding all my recipes together. I can forward personal recipes to family and friends, just love it!!

Too many crappy ads. Get rid of ads - intereferes with app.

Great when it works, frustrating when it doesn’t. It’s very convenient to have my recipes on my phone. I can prop it up on a charger in the kitchen and the app keeps the display awake so I can read through. However, it is inconvenient to find my recipes (search is clunky and sync is unreliable), changes on the web don’t always get pushed to the mobile app, and when you view a modified version of someone else’s recipe (a feature for pro users) the mobile app will often show a non-clickable link to the original recipe instead of the modified version you’ve saved. Very frustrating when it happens, which is frequently.

Oh so useful app. I love this app. I use it fir almost all my meals. No more flipping through a hundred different cookbooks. It's all right in my hand.

Love this app!. I love that this apps searches and finds recipes across any website that features a keyword or ingredient that you’re wondering about. I have already found some amazing recipes that I otherwise wouldn’t know about. Amazing!

Just downloaded. I’m downloading a bunch of meal planning apps and comparing them. This one is in my top 3 out of 15 so far and that’s great . Will update if I choose this one. It has great recipes and simple features. I wish there were some updates for meal planning and the grocery list section though.

I love the app but-. I miss the ability to have the app calculate change in serving size when using my iPad. That went away in one of the upgrades and I would love to get that back. Even without I use this app religiously and highly recommend it.

Great app. I love this app as I can put my own recipes in search from others exclude and include certain ingredients however it’s a little behind the times with being able to export the grocery list into one of the apps or programs that allow you to order your grocery list for curbside pick up or delivery etc.

My favorite app EVER!. If I could only have one app on my phone, BIG OVEN would be the one I'd choose! I love this app so much! I love being able to read reviews on the recipes and see how people creatively change them to suit their needs. Wish I could give this app a million stars!

Grocery list so glitchy!. I love this app and have been raving about it to people for a while now, but the grocery list has become so glitchy and keeps crossing things off before I’ve picked them up. Very frustrating when I try to make my list ahead of time and end up forgetting things at the store because Big Oven marks them as though I’d picked them up already. It’s leading me to want to switch over after being loyal to big oven for 2 years or so.

Best family cooking app ever!. This app is easy to use and easy to share. I share my grocery list with my hubby and we are totally in sync with shopping, cooking and meal planning. It's super fun to use and has great recipes. You can also add your own favorites and share them.

Not user friendly. I’m tech savvy and nothing is more annoying than a ad that keeps pushing down my keyboard to make room for itself on my screen. I tried X’ing it off, and it continued to keep pushing away my keyboard while I was typing. Finally when I finished my recipe, it vanished. I didn’t use this app for more than 5 minutes before deleting.

Big oven review. Have been using this app for several years. If you want to find home style recipes and you can remember a particular taste to your food this is the one. If your family weren’t big cooks the variety of recipes for different cultures is here too. Good job

Big Oven :). I love this app!!! I can find almost anything I want to make on it. Even the things that I haven’t tried, the people that leave reviews are helpful. To say the least, I know if I want to try it or not. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because they do want to charge you after a certain amount of recipes saved.

One De-cluttered Closet!. Instead of rifling through what has become an overwhelming chunk of recipe books- trying to recall that one for the oyster stew I liked- I can use Big Oven, I can save my favorites, AND I can set free an entire 30 year collection (ok, I saved some of the best pages) of well-intentioned cookbooks. Love this app- & that the screen stays on so I don’t have to worry about losing the recipe!

Top favorite recipe app. Big Oven is one of the first recipe apps I started with a few years ago and they’ve made quite a few changes since then that make finding/saving recipes must easier. I enjoyed using it and would definitely recommend updating to the Pro version.

Best meal prep app.... I don’t pay for very many apps but this app is TOTALLY worth every penny! The ability to make grocery lists is great but the best part is the sheer volume of recipes it has. It’s like having every community, mom’s & grandma’s cookbook on your phone, iPad or laptop! Keep up the good work!

Use it weekly. I use this app weekly for shopping. Most weeks I also meal plan with BigOven then simply add the ingredients to my shopping list. I prefer to meal plan on my laptop to change categories more easily, then I use the app on my phone at the grocery store.

Search by ingredients!. The best feature I think of this app is the use up leftovers feature. You go to search and you select use up leftovers and you can enter up three ingredients that you wanna use up and find recipes with those ingredients!

A little ackward. The old version is a bit less user friendly, although it seems to be morphing. I kept both on my tablet for ages!

Big oven app. I LOVE this app. I started with the free version and quickly upgraded to the full version. Variety is the spice of life and so should your cooking, with this app you can make the same old proteins into new and mouth water dishes. I have highly recommend Big Oven to many of my friends.

BigOven has been my go to app for all seasons when I want a recipe to enhance my cooking. Holidays are so easy. Many choices and user friendly app. Love it.

So many options!. I really enjoy using this app. I am thankful to have all of the recipe options at my finger tips! Now my wife and I can diversify our meals with just a quick glance at this app. Recently we have been incorporating more vegetarian dishes and this app has been very helpful!

Where’s my recipe. Paid for 12 scans. Scanned my recipe and submit. Can’t find recipe. Maybe I did something wrong. Scan again. Submit. Says it’s successful. Still can’t find my scan/recipe. Check what it says for scans, says I’ve used 2 scans but can’t find them. Seriously needs something fixed!! I’d appreciate my money back and maybe I’d try again if they can actually make it work

Really wanted to like this app. First recipe I tried I clicked on “show recipe instructions “ and app was hijacked by a full screen ad. Couldn’t scroll, click or continue. Had to quit the app and try again. On second try the same thing happened. Maybe this is how they get you to pay for pro subscription. I don’t mind ads but there’s no way to continue using the app and there’s no way I can find to contact the developer from the app.

Grocery categories could be improved. Unbelievable!! Big Oven read my review and actually made the changes I suggested! Way to GO BO!! Still love the ap and look forward to the improvements on the shopping categorizing. Limeaid still goes into produce and face cream ends up in Dairy etc. They already let me know they're working on it!! This is a great company who listens to their customers!!

Good idea. It’s nice that it will sync with what I upload on the computer. Putting in recipes on the phone app is very frustrating as keyboard keeps disappearing and hard to type anything. I first thought something was on my screen it was doing it so much, but there’s no problem with other apps and repeatedly is when I’ve tried this one.

Not fixing problems. This app is fabulous...or at least it WAS. The pro version is not supposed to have ads. They have added ads to the pro version. These ads are not simply annoying, but they are affecting my use of the grocery list, I cannot make changes to the item on the bottom of my list (which is usually the one I need to change the category of). PLEASE FIX THIS, remove all advertising from the pro version!

Learning the app - good so far. I am new to this app. I got it in Pro form to be able to scan and store all my past recipes. I am finding the scan option is hard to use - it doesn’t read most of my recipes. Also the search mechanism for recipes doesn’t come up with options if you ask for say “soufflé without butter”. I think I can make this work for me eventually - Glad to have it as an option.

My official “Go-To” cookbook app. We do a lot of road trips to visit family. I love to cook for them in gratitude for staying with them. Instead of dragging my cookbooks around with us, I just use Big Oven ! I have so many of our favorite recipes saved and the new recipes are always good to try out !!

Who needs a cook book?. Endless recipes! Easy to navigate. Built in shopping list for each recipe and u can check off the ingredients u already have so u only buy what u need at groceries. The app makes a non-cook like me seem like I’m a good cook! One of my favorite apps ever!

Love this app!!!. This is my favorite app to go to when I'm trying to decide what to make for dinner or when we want to try something new... my ultimate favorite part is the apps use up leftovers recipe search, helps use up ingredients before they go bad. Keep up the great work!

Big Oven is wonderful. Every time I need a recipe I go to this app because not only are the recipes great and always right there but you can also read comments from everyone that’s tried that recipe and what additions they contributed. I love this app

Best Recipe App. This is the best recipe app on the planet. Because users submit recipes, there are constantly new ones. You can also scan recipes from the internet so you can use the grocery list option. I have been using this for a few years now. Love it.

Great place to find cooking ideas. Probably used Big Oven a 1000 times for cooking ideas and techniques. Sometimes the instructions are a little weak but there are always multiple ways to fix the same dish so it is always best to read several recipes to find the one right for your taste.

Big oven. I had big oven on my pc a long time ago, I liked it then. It seemed more organized and I was able to paste my own recipes in it...I could not find a way to search on this version, I was scrolling through endless recipes and I can no longer add my own....I wish I could have the old one back on my pc

So are we supposed to have shared recipes ?. My wife does all the research.. I’m the cook. We have each other setup so we are household members and yet , we don’t seem to be sharing recipes ? Is this a missed opportunity? This is really the biggest feature we want /need. Am I missing something

The Perfect Cooking and Meal Planning App. I ant say enough good things about this app! It is everything I have been wanting for my meal planning and cooking needs. It’s super easy to set up meal plans, grocery list, and recipes. It works seamlessly with the web site so I can go shopping without a paper shopping list. Awesome app!

Recipe review. I’m in a culinary school and my final exam after 12 weeks first block I came to the app of big ovens. I’m so excited because I made the cheesy broccoli soup once which has stock in it so I can make that and a creamy cucumber salad, because I can make the emulsified mayonnaise dressing. Used to be great…not anymore. I have used this app for years but now I can not even find preparation instructions. Every time I click on them I get hijacked to other sites and absolutely can not get to the instructions. I tried just printing it but that too brings up nothing but ads. I’m done. It’s more trouble than it’s worth now. Everything you touch sets off a barrage of ads.

Great app for cooking. I love the Big Oven app. I use it all the time. I especially like searching for different recipes for ways to prepare & cook meals. Some recipes are easy & some are more complicated but I love to get ideas from them all. I also like that there are a lot of recipes for the Instant Pot & the crockpot!!

Big Oven. This website has the most wonderful recipes in among all recipes! I use the website so much! I love and highly recommend this website for entertaining all guest! Love this website!

I love Big Oven. Big Oven is the first cooking website I joined, and it is still my favorite. I like how it is set up and operates. I can always count on finding new and interesting (and tasty) ways of preparing my favorite entrees and sides, and am often tempted to try something brand new to me and those I love.

Overall great app!. Good variety of good recipes to try. Great selection of recipes in the free version. Actual tasty recipes also, using fresh ingredients rather than ingredients all dumped from cans etc. Direct many people to this app especially if they haven’t used a recipe app before because of its usability and tasty recipes.

Great selection of recipes. I’ve use BigOven for 3 years and have ALWAYS found the recipes for which I was looking! Great selection of all kinds of receipts. The first time I used BigOven I was looking for a recipe my mother fixed but was lost and since my mother has passed, BigOven was a God send for my whole family! A BIG THANK YOU! Best App!. I started using Big Oven when it was a program on my computer. I loved it then and now that it is cloud based, it is even better. I can access my recipes anywhere and can create shopping lists. I love the menu planner and use it everyday.

What a great app. I have been using Big Oven for several years now. The receipts are great and it is so easy to use. The shopping list feature is my main app for shopping. I add the items I need from receipts but also add the other items I need. It’s organized by department so it makes shopping a breeze.

Easily became part of weekly meal planning routine. Great variety and new recipes constantly added. The grocery list saving feature has simplified and focused that chore. The free version has plenty of functionality...after 6 months, I’ve felt no lacking or need to upgrade. Great app.

What was the focus?. I have had the old app a long time. But this new one seems to want me focused on the parts dealing with buying and interacting. I get a recipe, and you have to pick the show all ingredients option to see the whole list, then pick show recipe, and it comes up, but another box comes up about sharing ideas. At this point you fight to keep the recipe on screen and finally throw your hands up in the air. I deleted this app, and looked for another.

BigOven has rejuvenated my cooking!. This app has also helped me begin cleaning out my recipe drawer, and I'm no longer fearful of losing my favorites in that same drawer! I do wish they would make lower case the default for each new ingredient as I type in a recipe--I don't like superfluous capital letters!

Has Everything!. Big Oven saved me! I had 2 bananas and tried to look up this simple recipe in my old tried and true Betty Crocker cookbook. There was NO recipe for banana bread on page 124!!. What now??. I went to my Big Oven app, and there it was! My grandchildren will not be disappointed! ❤

Recipes to choose from!. I like to be able to look at variety of recipes to compare ingredients and cooking steps! I have found many good ones that I still use!

Favorite Recipe App. Easy to use, Big Oven has a great amount of recipes, which some have become our favorite go to family meals. I love the Try and Favorite options as well as the ingredient store lists that can be created. Try the Good and Chewey Chocolate Chip cookies! They are to die for!
