This app has the ability to be much more.... This application is only one-sided. I studied the Japanese language for almost a year and slow lost the speech part over time. In stuying the lang; I was never able to grasp the (wriring/reading) Japanese charactors and was hoping that the translator would "at least" have the option to listen by interactive voice. If someone is only looking for the writing pattern this would be great. But for now it doesn't serve any purpose for me. I "definitely" check back in a few months to see if you have update to/included voice interaction

Great. Helped me a lot in french classes with past, present, and future tense words

Love it. Not much to say.. I use it a lot at school, use it sometimes to entertain myself, and sometimes just to impress my friends hahah. Just the fact that it's free makes it incredibly for what you get, and I don't believe the app deserves 3 stars only because it doesn't have the language you want YET. Although I would love for it to include latin. Audio pronounciation would probably be asking too much, so I respect that. One of the few apps I'll probably use every day, in fact I think I might be learning a little bit of german && french (H)

It works. Hey it works I wasn't going to get but I gave it a try and it works If u think it's not saying it write take a peace of paper and write it down not what ur saying but how it came out and click swap and done and it says it write like an example go to spanish put like my name is Bob (it's not) and it says mi nombre is bob and u write it down and just like that but put swap and u read it when u click done it say my name is bob SORRY FOR THUS LONG REVIEW IT MIGHT BE CONFUSING BUT IT WORK HAHAHAH IM NOT GOING TO KEEP IT THO IT NEED A LITTLE MORE PAZAZ LOL HOPE IT WORK FOR U

Best Translator!. Out of all the various translators I've tried, this is hands down the best. Although there is a bit lost in translation, like "je m'appelle..." being translated as "Mon nom est...", other phrases are translated with a surprising amount of accuracy! Also, if you have problems with auto-correct, like trying to type "Je" and getting "Be", this is not the programmer's fault. Each keyboard correlates with an auto-correct dictionary for said language. To fix, under "international," find the "keyboard" setting, and simply add the language of choice. Highly recommended!

Added need. Need to add capo verde creole

wow should be #1 APP. Dont listen to anyone who gives less then 4 stars..... This app is seriously amazing.... I go down to mexico often and i dont know jack spanish sooo when i go down to a restourant i type in let me get the check or wtv i want to say and i dont even have to read it to them i just show it and the guy knows what i want lol... Another thing... this developer is a serious guy, i mean i am telling you i asked for him to add Bulgarian and it took him less then 2 weeks and boom its right here. How amazing is that ? I will deffinetly buy one of his other apps because he is a great guy. also this program should be rated 4 or more stars because you cant get anything better for free!!!! if i could rate this 10 stars i would

Can’t completely remove. Even after deleting this app, an entry for it remains in Settings > iCloud > Look Me Up By Email. There is no way to remove it. Apple support couldn’t remove it, either. The text there reads, “Apps that have requested permissions to look you up by your Apple ID will appear here. People who look you up will see your first and last name.” You don’t have to turn this feature on, but why have it at all? Seems like a danger to privacy.

Worst. App. Ever.. At first it was ok. Then it starts to glitch. I reopened the app hoping it would work but no. If you do get the app though don't do Spanish to English or English to Spanish. This app made me mad... 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

it's an all UI application with a limited UI. it seems they've simply put an iPhone front-end onto google language. i presume this is legal? but, in essence, the value proposition is a better user interface. and true, launching an application on the phone has its advantages over a browser interface ala safari. yet in this case, those advantages don't expend much beyond the fact that it is an application. i appreciate the fact that it is free, however. yet, this probably isn't going to make it onto my first five application screens on my phone, and alas, may not survive my monthly application purge.

Not quite there..... First off, it's a good idea... No, a great idea. I like it how there are so many languages (however, it doesn't show how to say it, so that's one star taken away). And, I tried it out with some of my German and Russian friends, and they said that it's not how you say it (it's the correct translation of the word, but if you take it out of context, it becames a completely diffrent word, so that's another two stars away). However, I don't know if it'sthe App. or if it's the Google Translator software. Either way, I'll give it 5 stars for effort, then take away three stars for the problem with the translator programing. Maybe with a really good update...

Not great. I downloaded this AP while traveling in Italy, so was quite excited to begin using it. Unfortunately, the first 3 words I tried did not translate and they were pretty common words. It merely had the same word in both the Italian and the English portion of the screen. I did finally get a few words to work, but it is very hit or miss. The second problem is that after translating a word, the keyboard does not reappear so that you can enter another word - even if you hit clear. You have to go back to the target language screen, select the language again and return to the input screen so that the keyboard appears again. But what the heck, it's free, and maybe the updates will improve the program. Just don't expect to rely on it.

Great app for free. Some words are hit or miss, but what is really needed is to be able to send a translated word or sentence via SMS. Please make that possible! Having email available is a nice touch too. Thanks, been looking for a simple translator. Needs an update to fix the lack of keyboard after translation is complete. To all those yelling about their listed language not showing up on the translate page, read the info! They will be there next update and the update has been submitted to apple.

Spanish. I am amazed by how well this app translates Spanish. I am quite fluent in Spanish, and this app has it all. I tested it in different tenses (like the past imperfect, preterite, and future progressive) and complex sentences that only a native speaker could pick up on, and it was completely correct. I haven't tested the validity of the other languages yet, but Spanish is dead on. One thing I would add to this excuisite application would be the ability to copy the text.

Invalid in-app purchases. Beware. This app locks up except for in-app purchases, then hits your CC for $1.99.

Disappointed. Pop up 8 times to pay for upgrade Poor translations defined as not correct at all It used to be better

Simple. Yes, this app is simplistic. It has limited languages, and the free version has no voice-related content. But I’ve used it often over the years for quick translation of phrases or words. Will it help with travel or speaking to natives? Only on a basic level. But it’s helpful on a casual basis, and that’s all I need so far.

Fantastic app!!!. I find it hard to believe it is free. I had a friend fluent in reading and writing Hebrew test it. I wrote in English "I want to go swimming at the beach next week, and then to to dinner at your Aunt's house", translated it to Hebrew and covered up the English translation with my thumb. She read it first out loud in Hebrew and translated it, and it was identical to what I typed! I have a suggestion though... Is there a way to create a saveable list of commonly or frequently used, cusomized phrases for fast translation? Even maybe a way to access past history of translations? Also, this may be too big of an idea, but any way to incorporate pronounciation of the translated text into the originally typed text? That would make this a truly phenominal app that I would be all too happy to purchase.

Awesome worth every last cent no wait it's free!. This is an awesome app, It has lot of languages to choose from including all the major ones of the world. I took Spanish and tested some definitions to see if it matched and they did. But I learned that in spanish, you say instead of Spanish pants pants from spain, motto mention how Spanish grammar differs alot from English but still are similar since they have the same Latin root. But as long as you are not taking a test, but trying to speak to a Spanish speaking person, they would get the idea.

Great app. Very useful app. I use this at work in the hospital. Three things I would improve is first I would like to see the "Source" "Translate", etc buttons at the top highlighted so are easier to find. Second, I would like to be able to make the font larger. Everyone has to put their reading glasses on to be able to read the translation. Tried doing the "pinch finger swipe" to zoom in and it won't. Third, I would like the choice to make the default to be that after I exit out and then return back into the program, I would like it to start at Source Language, not where I last ended up.

Ok…. But it needs the language punjabi because I thought it did and I want that so I can understand my great grandma. I wud giv it 5 stars if it had the language punjabi. BUT in Spanish If u translate the in of course English to Spanish it is RONG it says La the correct translation is LE not LA. Hey it’s been 8 years since my review Nvm about Punjabi she’s dead now

No voice option. I purchased the audio option and there is no option to restore purchases. I'm so angry. Grrrrr

I ♥ my iPod touch!. Now I've seen quite a few people complaining about how some words don't translate from English into the other language and just stay English. Well some languages don't have words for our words. So they don't translate. Like names. For example: I LOVE to watch the show, Torchwood. Torchwood is definitely not going to translate. Some normal words are like that, too. Same thing happens with Google Translator. Hope this helps, TMEDWRD

Helpful in many ways!!!. Quite funny that those leaving bad reviews aren't even spelling English words correctly on the review. If you can't correctly spell the words then how is the computer going to understand? It never says it will pronounce the words out loud to you or translate it only with the English alphabet, so why are you giving it a bad review for not having a feature it DOESN'T advertise. Also how in the world is this FREE app going to store every single bit of translation in many languages on your iPhone for use without an Internet connection? Think about it.... I can't make phone calls or send emails while in the subway station. Should I give the iPhone a bad rating for that? It's obvious the fault of the developers. On wait? It has nothing to do with them because that technology doesn't exist. Oh and I also found that this application doesn't fly and sing songs in bird language so for that I should probably give it one star... oh but wait.... Let's use common sense. Also there will never be a free translator that is 100% correct. Think about it ... Ok I'm finished. I'm tired of having to stand up for decent apps because little kids want to be obnoxious. Some people actually do use these apps for more than games.

Try adding a period.. I already speak Spanish fluently but I still use this app as an illustration tool. What I've noticed are 2 things. 1 - a lot of people have horrible grammar... They will use their instead of they're or there and your when you should use you're. That alone may mess up your translation. Try using correct grammar and spelling. 2 - try adding a period to the end of your sentence. Sometimes that will change the whole translation...possibly to the correct translation. Idk about the other languages but this has worked for me using Spanish. I personally think that this app is pretty good. It's not always correct but there are so many variations in language....what do you expect?

Copy & Paste. Most people are complaining that they cannot copy and paste when using the application...That's true but I will teach you how to do it...After you hit the translate button on the top right corner the next page will offer you the option to send an email...This is where you can copy and paste the translated version of your text...I have a problem with this app...Translation to Japanese is done using alphabet instead of words...Therefore I cannot learn Japanese using this app...Also the translation is poor until a friend told me wrong Japanese...This app is not good for paragraph translation but words...

Glad I gave it a second chance!. I downloaded this app to use for my Portuguese (Brazil) class. The first 2 times I tried it, it crashed.. Boo-hiss! But after an update I tried it again and now I use it constantly! It's great and extremely helpful. The only reason I gave only 4 stars is that it if you try to translate a sentence where one of the words has the 1st letter capitalized and it's not the 1st word in the sent. The translation is different if you change to a lower case- it's like it thinks you're starting a new sent. Otherwise I thinks it's a great tool- especially for the price!!!

Good App. But it needs work.. It's a good application, it seems to do well with Mandarin (though they simply call it Chinese which can apply to many other languages in China all of which are quite distinct) It could use a transliteration function (for those who are not linguists and can't read non-Roman script) and could definitely use some new languages like Cantonese for businessmen going to Hong Kong (Mandarin isn't the native language there). Also, some amcient languages would be nice, especially Latin for the semi-diligent student. Swahili would also be great. Otherwise this is a great app.

Have you thought of. Making this app or a different one that can translate without typing, but instead speaking, so basically, I can speak English to translate into any language of my choice to recieve the translation either in text or verbally. Also, it can come in handy when you are encountering someone you can't communicate with due to a language barrier, simply place your phone near there speech via the built in mic to decode what they are telling you, it would come in great service at my job. Just a thought. Overall, I love this app, it got me out of a bind at work the other day!! Thanks!

Hot Dog, it's a weiner!!. Great app! True it should not be used in lieu of a book, but that is not the intent I am sure. Auto correct IS annoying but if a native keyboard is implimented that eliminates the iPhone or iPod's international keyboard option. I would LOVE to see the clear button prompt after being pressed to make sure it wasn't a mistake. I use it often and love it, before this I was finding open computers at work to help me translate for clients and co-workers. Again... GREAT APP!!

Great translator!. I downloaded this app to translate English into Japanese. It works beautifully! I can't believe this was free. I was able to write a Japanese friend of mine a letter in English, translate it into Japanese (it translates into a mix of katakana, hiragana and kanji--just the way Japanese is normally written), then import it into an email. I was then able to take an email she had written to me in Japanese and import it into the translator and have it translated into English. I asked my Japanese friend how the translation was, and she said it was extremely accurate. For free! Fantastic! My only wish (my only reason for only 4 stars) is that it could also translate English into Romanji Japanese, that way I could try to pronounce the translation. I highly recommend this app.

Awesome app. One of my favorite apps. Don't complain about a single word being wrong if there is no context. In English, "glasses" could mean what you wear to see better, two or more drinking cups made out of glass, or what a window is made of. In other languages, there is a seperate word for each of those examples. If you put the word in context, such as "the nearsighted person out on his glasses" you will get a more accurate translation. One thing to improve the app: add am option to say re word out loud. I can pronounce words in German pretty well but every so often there is a word about which I am unsure. Otherwise I love the app!!

Was great until last update. After the last update this app is now LESS user friendly. Now you have to remember what your last language settings were because all that's visible are 2-letter abbreviations for the source & target languages. Also, once you use the app, it opens on the results window which now only has the target language field. So, to enter a new query into the source language field you have to backtrack to the previous screen. Moreover, the reason the results window lacks the source language field is that they've wasted the whole bottom half of the window with flag icons for purchasing additional languages. Not cool. I used to love this app. Now it wastes my time with its poor interface.

Fantastic. It's amazing that this app is free. This is something I would probably be willing to pay for. There are constant updates adding many different languages. Often times these languages are ones suggested in reviews. It's easy to see that the developers really care and are putting forth their best effort to make this app the best it can be, even though it is already a fantastic app. Keep up the good work! :)

Great!. I've been to 11 different countries and I wish I had this app when I went! It's very convenient and easy to use! It's gonna help me in my Spanish classes at school too! Not to mention the fact that one of my friends went on a cruise for fall break and he became friends with a bunch of Spanish people, and now when they write on his wall on facebook in Spanish I can see what they're talking about! Sweeeeeet! :) the only thing is that I don't think it's ALWAYS correct, but like 98% of the time it is.

Privacy Issue. I have also had the same issue with this app like the previous review showing that this app can look me up using my Apple ID and get my first and last name. I would have no issue but since I then deleted the app it shouldn’t be still showing that they continue to have access to looking me up by Apple ID. This is a little unsettling and makes me wonder why no one can remove this. If the developer gave a hoot he would respond to this but nothing.

You need ony this one. Very good start. Already more languages are being added. The grammatical usage may be a little off sometimes, but rarely does anyone speak perfect grammar, so who's really going to notice the wrong part of speech? This App works well for me, in several languages that I have tried. You just choose the source and target languages, type in your sentence, and it translates for you. The other translators on the App Store, translate one language at a time, and sound out the translation, but they only stock standard questions that are predetermined. While this App does not pronounce the sentence, it translates many different languages all in the same app, and you type in the sentence. Being able to ask specific questions and get a specific answer makes this App the clear winner. Oh yeah! And it is free.

no longer works. since ios 11 this does not work. it crashes when opening. i’ve deleted and reinstalled and same issue persists. they need to continue support

Good App - Missing some important features. I mostly use this application for translations between English, Russian and Italian. The translation quality is not amazing, but usually good enough. There are a couple of very important features though, that are currently missing and would make it much more useful: - The "result" page should be editable. You should be able to modify either source or target text and retranslate directly from there. - You should be able to copy either source or target text to the clipboard, to later paste it into another application.

Translator Free. What are all you folks looking at??!! Swap and clear still there. Write your text, press go to translate. Use the copy to clipboard button on the bottom. Go back click clear and swap, then touch screen and wait for paste option. Click paste and go again and you will have your swap translation. Can also be emailed as well as copied to clipboard to be used in docs or emails. Come on people, pay attention and maybe get a little creative. It's still a great app and it's FREE!!!

Do longer useful to me. I find it annoying to look at now. Deleting it and searching for a replacement.

Doesn’t work as advertised. Paid for voice output but doesn’t produce verbal output

Great hint. Couple this app With the free Dragon dictation app available in the App Store and use the copy feature, and all you have to do is dictate your sentence (no typing) and copy it to the translator and hit play. You can also reverse it, switch it into English from the other language. Dragon has like a dozen or more source input languages too. Works great and it's free! There is a limit to how long the sentences can be, like three short lines, but it's very clear and understandable. I don't think it's designed to translate a book or anything but it's perfect for traveling or short texting etc I know English and German and tried all kinds of different ways to make it mess up and it worked perfect almost every time. I don't know why people are giving this bad reviews? I'm guessing because of slow or old equipment. I have an iPhone and even turned off the wifi and it still worked seamlessly with only two bars and I live in the middle of nowhere. five stars from me

😑. as soon as i got the app it crashed. i don’t know what happened but i opened it and then it exited me out of it. strange. 😐

Airplane Crash Story. This was a simulated emergency, but it did show the wide array of situations where an iphone is invaluable. During a drill featuring a simulated airplane crash we encountered a "victim" who spoke only Swedish. That left a bunch of good 'ole boys from west Texas wondering just what the h%$# to do. I had downloaded this app only days before, and was able to use it by asking yes/no questions to provide appropriate and needed medical care to this young man. After the drill, the "victim" confirmed that the translations were "excellent". I am sure that many of my brothers have already downloaded this app after its value was so dramatically demonstrated. P.S. how 'bout adding swahili (sp?) We have a new batch of African immigrants, and human translators are difficult to locate.

Great for a free app. Great for what it is, considering it's free...and to the person that wants Latin added to this, my question to you is..WHY??? Do you really need that much help cheating on your Latin homework?? Is it that hard to google it to cheat??? Come on now, you can look up what you want to cheat, can't you?? It's not like anyone is actually SPEAKING in Latin anymore, now are they...um NOPE...I don't see Latin jumpin on to this translator anytime in the near future, but nice try to make your cheating needs much easier ROTFLMFAO!!!! =-p

Great convertor App!. And for a great price... FREE! Yeah, it doesn't have copy all and paste function. The work around to doing this is to click "email" and copy and paste the translation from there. I would have given it 6 stars but it didn't have pig Latin or Klingon translations. Lol C'mon People! It's a free App! I've used this flawlessly for Swahili, Chinese, Thai, Hindi and German conversions. If you want an App that pronunciates the converted text, this is not the App for you... but it is the next best thing.

Helped me and my patient. I know that any translating software, app, etc will never be totally accurate because they don't do INTERPRETATION. Under that premise, I used it to counsel a patient that speaks only Chinese (Mandarin) using the simplified Chinese opt here. ( I'm a Pharmacist). I succesfully communicated to this lady that her pharmacy benefits were still not active and that she needed to contact her insurance plan. I had her read from my screen and she thanked me several times in her broken English. I was able to provide a temporary solution and let her know about it. As far as I'm concerned, this app is just amazing.

Hindi. My primary interest is Hindi tranlation. I am very annoyed that hindi is tranlated into the written characters that I can not read. I need it tranlated into English letters. "thank you" should translate into "danuvad" not into the Hindi letters. That does me no good. Fix this and I will change to 5 stars. The app is great other than this for simple translations on the fly. Download for sure. If you had provided an e-mail to send my concerns I would have done that instead of the bad review. Post an e-mail address to send problems and I will also change to 5 stars.

Ich empfehle es! Probieren Sie es aus. Es ist gut!. Hallo all! Sorry for my bad english! Well what I got to say is that this application for der iPhone is great! If you know how to use it well you might even be able to learn a new language!! I know it sounds like it doesn't work but trust me if you give it a try and try hard in little to no more than six months you might be able to learn a new language! I have been using this app and together with an English class I have have learned the english language in short time! Now i got to fix mein grammar! But yes, it's a recommended app! Great job from codedesign and the most congrats from me! Like I said Ich empfehle es! Probieren Sie es aus. Es ist gut!

Arrogant developer - don't buy.. Paid $5 to remove annoying adds. Completely overpriced for, what is quite simply, an interface to Google Translate. Arrogant developer didn't even respond to the simple request of having a "favorites" button. Spend your money with a developer that gives a sh#t!

Japanese. for me as a japanese student.. this translator app is a really handy thing.. but can u pls put small hiragana on top of the kanji??!! it's so hard to figure out how to pronounce the kanji .. really appreciates if u could do dis.. thanks..

Is good. It's been working very well for me for Italian translations. But it's understandably lagging after clicking go. But on the whole very good. :) (lol smileface :)

Great App. One of the best apps I have. No problems going from English to Dutch, Korean, Italian & Greek. Would like to see a one off payment for the speak section & I would be even willing to pay for it. Great job

Purchased dictionaries are not use in translation. Silly me, I thought that buying the dictionaries which are advertised within the application, meant that it would be able to translate without connecting to the internet; this is the obvious thing to do as data connection charges when travelling overseas are very pricey. THE DICTIONARIES ARE NOT INTEGRATED WITH THIS APPLICATION; the application does not work at all in "Aeroplane mode". I spent $24 on dictionaries only to find that all the dictionaries give you is individual word translations in separate applications. They are not integrated with the Free Translator application as you would expect when the adds are within the application. Very annoyed I am. Done my money.

Incredible. Great app! Now I can finally talk to my prom date in her own language! =]

GREAT FOR WHEN YOUR AWAY OVERSEAS. great app for everyone its a must have cant believe its for free,,,,,,,,,,,,,????? TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,,,,,,,,,, Just wondering when you will put CROATIAN on this app thankyou

Major!!. I used for my homework, work very accurately from Indonesia - English, even all grammar. Very flattering, I just can give this app two thumbs from me;)

Number one!!. Great app great app. This app helped me in Italy a few weeks ago. Am off to Ireland in 6 months, can we get irish ( gaelige) on this?????

Nice one brother.... Very very good app... I tried many words from Portuguese to English and it was very accurated... And it's free... Even larica it translated to munchies, hehehe... Worth the download for sure...

Pincus321. The latest update pretty much ruined a decent app I now use something else it had it's quirks but with practice could translate beginner sentences accurately

Does The Job Well. I own an iPhone 3Gs with 3.0 firmware and have found Free Translator to be an efficient app which does what it promises to do. Highly recommended to anyone who may need to translate phrases. Languages supported are: Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (both simplified & traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Norwegian, Polish, Portugese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukranian 7 Vietnamese.. phew!

Unecessary front end to Google service. Google Translate can be accessed direct with an iPhone friendly website that I find easier to use with all supported languages, my last review with a Url never turned up so expect it is not allowed, so you will have to find yourself. Once you find it just save to your homescreen.

Great help. This makes my French homework alot easier but I wouldn't trust it with larger sentances

Road test. I had a go with a few phrases and this looks pretty handy. I'll road test it when I go travelling next year. Thanks!

Croatia. Although a good app it needs the Croatian language. And more slavenian languages. And I would like Latin aswell. That would be awsome. Please do this. Thanks. Good work.

The app stops working. It's a great app when it works but when it stops working nothing you can do to get it going again delete the app and re add it still does the same thing

written only. This app will translate written text only - and sometimes into the translated language alphabet!! If you want to learn how to say something (either hearing it or seeing the Roman/English alphabet phonetic spelling) then this is NOT the app to be using.

NOT GOOD - NOT RELIABLE !!!. I choose French as the source language and Portuguese as the target language and it gives me the translation in ENGLISH instead !!?? If I swap them, it gives the same translation for both! I choose English as the source language and Portuguese as the target language and it gives me the translation in ENGLISH instead !!??

Ok. This app is good cuz it gives u basic translations but there are a couple of problems like: You can't always read japanese and Chinese characters so you should have in brackets the English alphabet so it is much easier to pronounce. Some translations are incorrect. Also please have in the translations, how to pronounce the words in the next update, then it would be heaps better!!!

Sad Translation..... Look, Please don't use this to translate... It's inaccurate

Its Free and it Works!!!. I work in a business where 11 languages are used by the staff. This is a great tool for translating and writing amusing comments.

Too Easy!. So good! Doesn't get any easier than this. Learn 2 amaze the ladies by complementing in otha languages. Wlda bin 5 stars if u cld talk in2 the phone & it translates! Wink wink, nudge nudge.

NEED INTERNET. the bad thing about this app is that you need to have wifi for ot if there was downloadable langue packs for none wifi uses that would be great like a pack for french to english

Great!. I love this app its useful and so far very accurate.

Wonderful App. It translated I'm sorry for me in English so I can apologise to Nonno in his home language! THANK U!!!!

Great. People need to understand that this application is just an interface to google. If you want other languages or improved translations, go bug google about it. The author of this app can't add new languages!

So far so good!. I've used this app to translate Spanish to English & vica versa, & its worked great for me. I saw a friend speaking spanish on facebook and used the app to see what he (& friends) wrote & then I reversed the source-target & added my own comment! It was very simple to do & with little lag time (It has a small pause after you press go, but I don't feel that it was an unreasonable time to wait for the translation). I couldn't ask for much more from a free app :)

Good but missing advertised languages. False advertising, does not contail all the languages advertised, if there not supporedt yet then say there not and list them as future updates

meh. its fairly well going when it comes to the language selection and all that, but it only works online which is annoying if you dont have a connection, which in most cases when you need it, you wont. i recomend an update for it that sets words inside it so it can translate offline, it will be alot of work but it would be so much better, possibly make it cost money aswell... worth it if you have internet, not worth it if you dont

Not very impressed. A very basic application that would be good for translating very basic and common words (occassionally). Many faults. For eg. if you are translating a word from another language into your own tongue and do not know the exact spelling, there are no suggestions for spelling and you will not get any translation at all, sometimes even with the correct spelling (incredibly limited dictionary). You would be better off just googling.

Awesome app!. This app is amazing..I use it all the time to fool people on my knowledge of their language. Great fun. Good work!

are you people (reviewers) dumb?. this app is an "INTERFACE" with a website. it does an awesome job. it doesn't need wifi. the app creator can't add languages or make it available offline and of course you can't use it in small villages where there's no reception. again, it's an INTERFACE!! what you guys need is an app that allows you to engage brain before writing reviews. great app. cheers.

Really Good. Quite impressed, as it has a good range of languages. One star lost for some words not translating. Simple things like 'snake' and 'spider' from English to German. Otherwise really good.

just great!. I have been using english -serbian-croatian dictionary and it's exellent! just need to be accurate when typing words in negation properely and words that are with a capital letters ( generaly use proper spelling) and it does superbe job! happy :)

Where is the Lim Jirm language button?. I want to translate Lim Jirm but it isn't there!

Not that bad. Well, you can buy better translator, but this one is for free...

Disappointed. This app was great until the last update, now it's full of ads and the voice conversion won't work unless you upgrade! Very disappointing!

Offline!!!. This app should be offline so if your on the go and you are not near a Wireless network you can still use it

Awesome. Reviewer 17 is right on the money. Awesome App.... It's free... What more do you want. I just checked this with a German friend, my Polish bathroom Tiler, and his Czech wife.... Dead accurate. Image using this at a restuarant to help you order food in Prague, or find a toilet in France. Very happy.... Still can't beleive it's free. Thanks.

Mr.. Great software and it's free can't beat that.I would like to see slovakian language there, too.

Translations in both English and the selected language?. Hey, good app but there are a few flaws: * In Japanese to English, 'doko ni sunde imasu ka' doesn't mean 'Where in the free minute', it means 'where do you live' * e.g. for Japanese, write the translation in both hiragana, katakana etc and english, itll make it HEAPS easier. If you fix those, it'll be perfect.

Doesnt say the right things. This app is terrible. some of the translated sentences dont make sence! on the preview screen it says the best cheese is meat!!!! and it also needs wifi not convenient when your in old villages!

Fantastic!. This is a great app to use if u want to send ur realitives from another country! Mabey put in a built in voice to help you learn..

Good but.... Needs pinyin as I don't read Chinese characters :)

Translating on the fly!. Other reviewers need to remember that it is not the designer who is the one adding languages to the translator app itself, but Google who is! This app is a great facia to Google's extensive translation service online, but relies on Google themselves to have the translating smarts! So bug Google for your extra languages! Great app, easy to use, perhaps turn off autocorrect when running the app if possible, as having your french to spanish translation text get autocorrected to an english word can be annoying!

Great but a little frustrating. Great app works well although the menu buttons at the top can be a pain. These buttons are easily tapped and will open a menu screen which wipes your text. Please have the app save the text before the menu opens.

Great App!!!. It translated my English to Spanish so well. All the other languages worked well too. Obviously the guy who's app repeated what he said translated his English back into English!!!

Portuguese???. As most of the portuguese speakers on the Earth are from Brazil and NOT portugal, wouldn't it make sense to include Brazilian Portuguese to the list of languages supported? I would have thought so and hope that this will be addressed in later updates. Until then, if you're after this, then like me you'll have to wait it out or use another app. Otherwise this app really works well and I look forward to the later updates.

Needs inbuilt. Needs inbuilt words the reason I downloaded it was to use when I don't have google translator...

Fantastic App. Great app! Would love to see Farsi as well!

Cool. this is a good translator and it actually works! i recommend it to everybody who needs a translator but dont have a dictionary

What Happened?!. I love this app but ever since I upgraded it for bug fixes I'm having second thoughts. This used to have a swap button to swap the languages and a play button to hear the translation; FREE! Now you have to manually I back and change the languages and pay $1.99 to hear it.

Spanish free translator. If I could give 0 stars I would- just bought the upgrade - does not work- how do I get my money back?

Meh. Its compleetly wrong in french..

Best app ever. I love this! Not only is it fun. But also educational! <3 TRY IT!

Aww. This is so stupid! It requres Internet? I was hoping for a translator that has no need for wifi. Lame.

nonononono. no

Free but I would pay if better .... I like that it saves the original statement if you have to switch to text messaging, but it doesn't save the translation. Also, you can e-mail what you've translated but it would be awesome and I would pay for the ability to text the translation.

.... I typed in もう寝る時間かな? and it said "I go to bed an hour?" Whatever it really says it isn't that

Good but useless. Computer translators are useless in the sense that they can never make a accurate translation because language is just to complicate for a simple machine. I checked the translation for some sentences and found the giving result wasn't accurate. Some were close. The point is if you wanna make a fool of yourself this thing will help. Learn the language or don't speak.

Please add!. Can u add farsi and i will leave 5 stars.

Super awesome!!!. So helpful! I hope to catch up on my French class. I love it so much and now know I can travel to other countries where the language is different!!!

Poppy. It is just an app. It can't be perfect and it's free so what do I care? They can't fit perfection on a tiny little I pod!

Farsi. Is it possible to include Farsi in your list of languages

cool !!! add more language !!!. add bahasa Indonesia thx bro!!!

does not work. just upgrade to the playback option for $1.99 , doesn't work . I want my money back

Great app!. It has Irish! And, for anyone who says that it doesn't translate every word its probably because that word doesn't directly exist in that language. Also for anyone who says it's translations are wrong it's because that sentance must me phrased differently in that language. This happens alot with French

Bad bad bad. It got 4 out of ten translatioms I tried =.=

Offline Version :). It would really be AMAZING if you have an offline version of this! =] that would be one of the most useful apps ^_^...But anyways NICELY DONE!!! 5* for u!

Translate free. One way I found this useful is when travelling, with respect to roaming fee the trick is to use the Wifi within the Iphone, so may hot spots do not need to pay roaming charges.

Very Good App. Works well and easy to use :)

Well done. Does the job!

This is a great app!. Its amazing and does QUICK translations although if possible I'd love to see and offline version! Thanks Sincerly, Juf

Great app that does what it's supposed to.. The problem with languages such as Ukrainian is they do not operate in the same layout as English. I have never seen a translator that does a 100% perfect job of Slavic languages. There is also the awfully complex declension noun system. If you have a basic understanding of how this language works, this will allow you to build simple sentences. As for an offline version, does anyone have any idea how large the program would have to be? Larger than the total space on any iPod touch or iPhone. I give this app 4 stars. The only thing it's lacking is the ability to paste into SMS or email.

Well something changed.. This app use to work now, it translates but won't allow me to copy it to clipboard ..

I love it. Thank you for free app.. Help me out a lot with my Vietnam translat to English thank u

HORRIBLE. This app won't translate English to Spanish. Find my review at the app that works

Bravo !. Superbe application, merci beaucoup

Bad translator. Some languages are read from right to left like Arabic or Hebrew... This app does not take that into consideration it rights the translation from left to right so when I showed to a friend how reads Arabic and Hebrew he said it didn't make any sense and that some letters where reversed. I give this app -6 stars Since I had to put 1 Star to post.

Awesome . Of course its not perfect tho I love it translate to French, Arabic, Polish, and many other language very accurately and perfectly but it's missing the languange I always never find in any translating apps - Chaldean But by far this is the best And I don't kno why u ppl r writing bad reviews about it Anyways it'd be really helpful if u added Chaldean Thx

Great but . . .. If I'm using this application, then it most likely means that I'm outside of Canada. If this application requires an internet connection, then this application is not actually free because I'll be paying roaming charges!

Where is the listen option gone to?. It had a button so it would speak the translation in the target language. But not so any more it was great. Bring it back!

Good app. I am learning French and when you type it in most of it is write, but some letters are different. I like it, it's a good app!

add georgian. it would be better if georgian was added

WRONG. English to French is soooo wrong dont download waste of memory Wish I didnt even hav to put onestar!!!!

Poor translation. this app gives the most basic definition and only 1 definition. So the english wors the is automaticly le in french ( or der in german) even though la can mean the im french and die and das can meanbthe for german. This is just one example how the translating is too basic.

Prablems. After fix bags 10.09.2013 Please help.

Deascent. I tried to find the verb "germer" which is in French, but it said germer, anybody know what germer means?

WORKS PERFECT ON 3G ONLY. I don't know what that last review person is doing - Perhaps she needs to turn on her 3G in settings and shut off her WiFi. IT'S A GREAT APP / TRY IT. 

Awsome. For à free translator its an awsome App.

Farsi needed. Can u please add Farsi too

French is wrong. I speak fluent french and english so i did some test. Translator is completely wrong 4 out of 5 english words i translated. Simple words like house.

Many mistakes. It makes a lot of mistakes. Cannot be used offline..

Excellent!. This App. is very useful. It's like having a free personal translator. With this you can save $$$,$$$. Good job! Thanks.

Good. Probably the best translator on the app store some words are wrong but at least it's not like google translate where u have to be on the internet

Yes!. This is the greatest application I've ever seen raise the price it's worth like 60$ like seriously people

Cool. Cool

One little thing. Why google doesnt support or better say restrict Persian (Farsi) for traslation im really upset about it

Best free translator out there!. It has everything you need. Forget about paying for translators. Just get this one!!!

Awesome. This is an awesome must have program. I have personally used Latvian, Spanish and Korean translations and it has worked great. It is easy to use and extremely functional app. I cannot believe it's free. Here a couple of things: turn off the text auto correct for non-English as source; text would be great; keyboard layouts for non-latin based languages; synthesize the target translation by voice. I love this app.

Good app. This app seems great. I don't actually have a use for it though. Consider using the wheel thing that is in used in calendar when choosing dates/times for an event which is also found in other apps for a better appearance. To the person who gets the same language as they put on, you must have the same language set for source and output(dumbass).

Almost a great translator.... Unfortunately, this app will not translate romanized words (from languages like Japanese or Chinese) into English, and vice versa. This makes it impossible to actually enter words from those languages into an iTouch with an American English keyboard. This app will also not accept words without the proper accented letters (such as the French word "bientot"), which is also impossible to type with an American English iTouch keyboard. Maybe these features are included in a non-free version...but it would be nice to these features in any version.

Good program!. I don't speak Spanish. But use this program to send messages to my Spanish friends. They understand perfect and when they respond I use this program to understand them. So far it's worked very nicely. Also, it has not crashed on me. That is a major plus. So, if your like me and think that apps should be free and only download free applications then I think this is a perfect addition.

Add languages. Please add Armenian and Latin. This app can't be without them. Also, for the languages with a different alphabet there should at least be an English pronunciation of the sentence beneath. It kind of defeats the purpose of the translator if you don't know the other alphabet. If you are going to china and have never spoken Chinese, how do you use this translator? It's in a way pointless. But good app overall if you just want to cheat in a language class ;)

GREAT!. It was so much fun to surprise two of my German friends by casually sending them email in German! And, it's FREE! When putting in their German responses to learn what they said, it was frustrating that it was constantly changing the word I'd keyed in to an English word when I spaced for the next word, but goodness ~ it's FREE! It would be nice to have the "clear" easier to manage such as an "X" at the top or bottom of the page, but, did I mention? ~ it's FREE and FUN! THANK YOU!

Don't Look Down!. Despite the bad reviews, it is not due to a lacking feature, but rather a lacking easiness. There is a copy to clipboard button, and all you need to do us change your source language and target language, paste the text, and retranslate the text. I can assure you that the app is operating properly.

Good apps but!. They should be able to translate every language in plain basic alphabets, or at least have an option for it. I've tried to translate from English to Japanese, but the translation was in a form of kanji or? How am I going to read it? If this is fixed, then this app deserve a 5*****.Please fix this problem! Also, please make the dictionary of words available off line. Thank you!

Great!. Thanks for Bulgarian! I love this app and it's free too. :) But I have a suggestion, to the next update maybe. If you could add the ability to zoom in too the text or that you make the text bigger. I don't know if there is an option like that already, haven't found one yet. I would really appreciate if you could add zoom. Thank you!

Creator obviously does not know Japanese well or at all .. I got this and some other apps for Japanese . I'm taking a class of the language and figured this would be helpful;but it wasn't . It says it can translate sentences, but I tried converting the sentence " where do you shop at?" from Japanese to English . It's translation was " how big are we?". I decided then to translate of the other way around, saying where do you shop at in English . The translation to Japanese was wrong. It used the wrong words on it , like ここ which means here, when the translation should have been " どこで、かいものおしますか"

Nice Job. Might come in really handy. Some ideas to improve: * It should check for internet connection the first thing, not after selecting languages and entering text !! * How about a conversation mode? So we wouldn't have to switch between languages again and again while trying to carry on a conversation * Ways to save the translation (?) Forwarding the translated text to an email message body might just do the trick. Thanks for the good work.

Great idea but would one upgrade. I love that I have this on here. Haven't really had a chance to use it. One improvement I would like to see is a reverse button. What I mean is, if you helping someone get some where it may involve slot of back and forth conversaton. It would be get to switch from language A to language B could me down with one button insead having to keep going back and changing the settings. Love this though.

Arugatou for the addition of Japanese & Chinese, but.... Okay this update (1.0.3) is great so far but when u added the Chinese & Japanese languages this will be agreat addition. In the Source/Target pages identify if the Japanese in the app is either Kanji, Hiragana, of Katakana since they're very different. Also when u translate something as the target being Japanese or Chinese, to add how to pronunciate the word (or phrase) since most of us can't read it. This will be an awesome addition to this already great app. Keep up the good work and try to at least add these features.

Awesome but.... I found a bug. I really like the app but what ever you last were getting translated it keeps it on that keyboard until you manually change it yourself. Like I was using the german trans. Engilsh to german and then when I was testing my auto correct was correcting german words and I found out it was on german keyboard. Same with Spanish. Love the app but just throwing out the small little bug I found. Anyone else with this?

a fine application, especially for the price. This works as well as the Google translator, since that is what it patches into. Works fine, though a little quirky. I've been quite happy with it. Addressing two previous reviews: It has Italian. If you pick Italian as the source language, it won't let you use it as the target language. That could be your problem. You have your device autocorrect on, and this is not the fault of the developer. So don't complain. Turn it off, then Free Translator won't use it. I tried it both ways and found this out. Did you? Really, I don't understand why people go out and trash free apps just because they can't take 30 seconds to figure out something simple.

Pizza Head. I give this two stars for two reasons. It is good because it has many cool languages! Some that I haven't even heard of! But the bad thing is, it's really confusing and when I tried to go back to English as the language I speak, it didn't have it on the list! If you are one of those people who look at the reviews before you buy an app, I can't really tell you if you going to like it of not, but to me, it's sort of confusing. I just suggest that you just try your hardest to not get overly mad when it does not work, for it's only an app, and nothing is perfect.

Awesome App. Some languages are translated a little bit roughly but this app beats anything you'll find for this price, including those online and the sheer number of languages (which have been updated frequently since I got the app) almost make up for any flaws. Considering the price this makes for a near perfect app. Does exactly what it says, easy to use and awesome value.

I hate "Upgrades". "Upgrade" really means up something else. Originally this app let you tap the "Eng/Sp" bar to switch from translating one way to the other, "ahora eso es impossible." en Español Now, one must go back into the source language list, select the other language, THEN go into the target language list to select that language, at which point I can't figure out how to get back to the translator function from there! All I know to do is to exit the program and restart it! I'm deleting this app and am looking for a better one now! Too bad, because it worked fine initially. Look for one with a better UI!

Good but not great. I loved this ap, and in many ways still do, the problem is this: take it to cabo San Lucas Mexico, where there is no data feed and try to use it. I guess it was just stupidity on my part to assume I wouldn't need a edge connection or wifi to translate. It would be worth it to me to have some memory eaten up to have this ap work oh, I don't know, say a country where translation is needed. Lucky for me, my Spanish isn't that bad, but it would have been nice to have it.

pretty useful app. Nice! A pocket translator on the go! The English>Japanese translations seemed right on target... Except for one thing though... I really think you guys should have the translation appear in romaji rather than hiragana/kanji characters. Someone who doesn't have any knowledge of the Japanese language wouldn't even know what those characters stand for. For example: Instead of translating "Hello" to "こんいちわ", it should be "Konnichiwa". At least first timers can spell out the word.

Free Translator (V 1.5). I use it for my French Class and it only seems to partially translate some things and I also don't think it's aware of the different tenses (past, future, etc). The app also freezes up a lot and closes without warning. I'm not trying to down this app in any way, because it's very useful and FREE, but I just think it could use a few tweaks :)

Mr Krazy Kat. This is app is very accurate, my parents speak Spanish and are really impressedwith how accurate "this little thing on my phone translates words". Overall awesome app one request please allow the ability to send translations as text I'm sure more users would agree. In this day and time people text more than emails as it's a more convenient way if communicating.

Non-intuitive. I just wouldn't bother. I can't comment on how good the translating is, but I can say it's very difficult to get the program to do what you want. If you hit 'Cancel' it clears out all your text, not just your most recent choice. When u are finished entering text to be translated you have to 'x' out of the screen, instead of hitting a 'translate' button. Finally, to get the program to translate you must hit the flag for the language 'in which you want to translate.' Umm, does that mean the flag for the 'from' language or for the 'to' language? I can't ever remember, but i can tell if you guess wrong all your entered text is erased!

Came in handy. When I went to germany and had to use the bath room and couldn't find someone who spoke English I said screw this wippd out my touch and downloaded this app it was like omg I know how to say where bath room it your wondering did I find the bath room. I didn't I had to run al the way to the hotel! It sicked word of thenwise dont go anywerenwith out knowing how to say bathroom

Great app!. Lots of languages to translate. Would be awesome to have a text to speech button for the translation so the person you are conversing with could hear what you translated. I personally could not speak the translation to the other party. Also a way they can speak into the phone and it would translate what they say as well. Hoping for something like that in a future update. Great job so far!!!

Add a "save translation" option. I am a physical therapist and this has been an unbelievable asset for me to use with my Spanish and filipina patients. This app would be 1000x more functional if you were able to save sentences/messages for future reference or quick translation when travelling to multiple countries ...otherwise amazing! They should give this to 1st graders!! think of how much more evolved our world would be!

Excellent app but..... I needed this app specifically for english to Arabic and Farsi languages only. But the only problem with that is when it translates the writings in Arabic is from left to right rather than right to left. And the letters are not connected so it makes it super difficult to read but none the less it does the job which is amazing for me. Please please fix this and I will give five stars in advance. Thank you v

You get what you didn't pay for.. For a free translator you're really getting a lot here. The translations are actually correct from what I've seen which more than makes up for the ads. It doesn't tell you how to say it, no, but I think asking people to pay for a feature like that is acceptable. For a free app this is all you could ask for.

Why would you do this?. I LOVED this app and used it all the time, and then when the 'Network Error' appeared I just worked around it, and then I saw the update and presumed that this bug would be fixed, but I would have NEVER updated it if I had known it would bring this app down from a 5 to a 1!!! So many features were taken away, voice, clear, switching of the languages, making this app extremely annoying to use and almost useless. This so called 'update' just took away features and makes you pay for them, which really reflects on the cheapness of the developers.

Good app with minor flaws. Well I've had the app for several updates now and all in all I've been pleased. I've used it on a couple of occassions and with the few languages I've used it's been good. However, one major flaw is in translating from English to Korean or Chinese. It shows the characters which makes no sense. If I could read those characters then why the hell would I need the app? Duh!!!

Yay! Subjunctive fun!. This is one of the best translators that I have used from the App Store. I use it for English and Spanish translation, and this translator is the only one that I have downloaded that recognizes and uses the subjunctive tense appropriately. Good job. Aside from that, this app is simple and easy to use. I love it. Granted, not all translations work 100% of the time, and it would be nice to have a serperate offline dictionary, but other than that this is an excelent and useful translator.

Very cool, useful app. Needs a little more work for 5 stars.. This app can be very handy for travel all over the world. I would like to see more languages added, specifically Norwegian and Hebrew. Also, it would be helpful if you did not have to go back to source language after each translation. It would also be a help if a list of previously translated words/phrases could be added to the app. Looking forward to updates. Thanks for a useful and free app.

Gibberish. I got this app specifically so I could use it on my Apple watch while in France. Paid extra for the speaking function. Problem: wherever there is supposed to be an apostrophe in the French translation (and that is frequently), this app inserts four or five gibberish characters. This happens on both my phone and watch. The 'voice,' which seems to be a native speaker, actually tries to pronounce the gibberish! I will gladly change my rating when this bug is fixed.

Does not use Arabic figures correctly. I know that the designers are going to adressed the left to right problems in the program. The program also doesn't connect the Arabic characters fluidly, after studying the alphabet for weeks I have been wishing to find a translator that would give me the translated word correctly, Arabic letters have forms depending upon their spot in the word and this translator leaves the characters in their isolated forms. When the translation was reversed for words as well I did not get the meaning, Salaam means peace, this translator just translated "Salaam" as Salaam?

-3 stars! Boooooo. For starters, you can only use it when you're in an area with Wi-Fi, which defeats the purpose if you want to use it overseas or in a different country, for example. It also occasionally crashes; plus the fact that if it doesn't know a word it just gives it back to you! For example, if you typed in say, "Hola" (not necessarily that word, but you get the basic idea) from Spanish to English, the translator won't recognize it and says in English that means Hola. Many similar apps for much better quality.

Great. Really great app!!! I travel a lot for work and sometimes I don't quite understand the languages. This has helped a great deal in communicating with clients. Either I can type it in or I just give them the phone to type in and poof we understand each other! Best of all it's free!!! Thanks, it has saved me a number of times!

Good app but can you also add...?. I have had great success using this app on my iPod Touch, however there are languages that I believe should be added that people would put good use to, and that's the United Kingdom languages. Both Irish/Scotish Gaelic and Welsh. The UK is my blood, origin and heriatge and would help me with communicating better with my family and I'm sure many others would find great uses to this addition.

PAY attention. You must use punctuation in your sentences. Remember, in a language many words have multiple translations and depend on CONTEXT. Anyone that doesn't apply this knowledge will get words popping out as English still. This works amazingly. I use it for Spanish, Russian, Romanian, Albanian, German, and more. It is very accurate and you can tell a team of professionals are behind it. Recommend this for sure!

Awesome!. I love this app! I think that this is the best translating app i have ever seen for the iPhone or iPod Touch. I think that this is great because you don't even need WiFi to use it(unlike most translating apps I have tested). Ever since i bough this i have not been using my translating dictionary at all for work. Great app and a must buy for people who want to learn a different language.

Eh... This is a good app, but the two things I dislike about it is that it requires a WiFi connection to work, and some words it wont translate. I downloaded this app for the mere purpose of Spanish translations, but it is useless to me anywhere aside from my house because I can't use it at school; no WiFi. I would also like to point out the false advertising. On one of the pictures of this app in action, it says iPod, but it shows no WiFi signal. You should fix the problem.

Awesome app!!!! ( needs Latin). This app is amazing!!!! It has come in handy so many times!!! I take Spanish in high school and it helps there but I also went to Germany and the Czech republic for school and this app was incredibly useful!!!!! Thank you so much! The only improvement I suggest is to add Latin. That would be incredibly useful for my choir class because we always sing Latin songs and never know the translation...

Simple and effective. It may not be 100% accurate all the time but I've had a blast talking with my international friends bc of this app!!! I'm an athlete and I travel so I use this constantly and it's soooooo easy to use... The grammar, according to some of my friends, is a lil shaky but still reliable... I grew up speaking 3 languages fluently English, Spanish, and German... Very good especially for those 3!!!!!! 9 out of 10!!!!

Not bad!. I've been using this app for a while. I like it! It's the best free translator app. I usually use it to translate stuff into Spanish. I wanted to try it for another language and so I tried Farsi! It translated stuff ok but it writes them backwards! Instead of writing it from right to left it writes from left to right. So if you are not fluent in Farsi this is not useful! For example instead of writing mother in Farsi it spells it rehtom!!!

No, this app IS pretty good. This app has proven extremely useful on many occasions, though to back up another reviewer, the Spanish is sketchy. I think the main problem is the dramatic differences in the Spanish language. One problem id like to report is the "copy to clipboard" button works less than half the time . Other then that, I really find this app as a lifesaver that has done exactly what I needed.

Great app. It's great to translate a phrase quickly in so many languages. This app wasn't designed to teach the entire language, so don't expect that. One suggestion would be to add option for pronunciation within each language, or separate app for that. How cool would it be to greet someone in their native language. I will update to version without ads next time I have Wi-fi access. Great job!

Great, thank you for adding Lithuanian!. This is a great app. Can be used to replace all those other ones the cost $$. I commented earlier that I would love the developer to add Lithuanian and he did within a day!! Another idea for you is the ability to make what you converted drop into an email or text message, but as far as I'm concerned, not only is the app 5 stars, but so is the developer on his response to our comments! Thank you!

Disappointing. I'm glad it was free.. I downloaded this just today, and I've only used it twice. But already, I can say that this app was disappointing. Yes, it can translate. Hurrah. But when I translated a simple English question--"Where is the train station?"--it gave me the Kana. Wonderful, but I cannot read kanji and hiragana, and my katakana is very limited. I have not tried other languages, but I'm already not sure if they'll be of any use to me. I am very happy that I did not have to pay for this app. Three stars.

Could have been 5 stars. I found this app so useful before the update. Easy to use, and you could reverse the chosen languages (German to English could be switched to English to German with one touch). Can you please make the app as it was before the update, while keeping it compatible with iOS 4.0? Like another reviewer, I'd pay 99 cents to have this app the way it used to work. Then it would be the 5-star app it used to be.

Cool. This is a great translator but the only thing I think there should be is that the keyboard automatically comes back up when you go back after a translation. Otherwise it's awesome. For the stupid people who gave this app 1-2 stars for not having one or a few of the languages in the description, it clearly says that some of the languages will be added in the NEXT UPDATE.

Used To Be Good.... I had this translator for a long time, and it worked wonderfully. With the new update, however, the Spanish is completely off. First of all, it doesn't conjugate the verbs anymore where it is supposed to. Second, the vocabulary isn't correct. It believes 'computer' translates to 'equipo'. If you want an accurate translator, wait until they fix this. Otherwise, it's just going to teach you the wrong thing and you'll end up saying 'team' instead of 'computer'.
