Box is weirdly protective of your files. Access is restricted.. I hate that I can’t just log in on the apple and download my files. If I attempt to share, it only gives an option to invite collaborators or email it. Meanwhile I can only use the file on my iPad. It’s dumb, and doesn’t make any sense. If it wasn’t included with my university account, I wouldn’t even bother. 2 years later, and it’s still extremely frustrating. 0 out of 10. I can just open my box like any other folder on my computer. But on any device it’s like trying to break into a high security vault. Huge waste of time. TL:DR. Do not use box and trust that you will be able to access your files anytime, anywhere or from any device.

Good app for workflow. Great app for initiating workflow but cuts short for us in the music world. In short, DISCO picks up where you guys leave off. Neither do what I need so I have to spend twice the money in both subscriptions to get results. Would be nice to have everything in one app. Easy access to metadata and a better format for inputting that into songs. (metadata inputting, aiff to mp3 conversion, additional data input without losing original download link, applying a graphic - I.e. jpg - to the metadata). Your dt application is fantastic and love the cloud sync so I’m current on all 3 of my computers in various locations.

Won’t stay logged in. Box is my favorite cloud service and one of my favorite apps but this last update messed up a basic feature in the iPhone version. Even with “keep me logged in” selected, the app wants me to login every time I open it and it won’t allow me login with keychain passwords. Still have to type it in. The worse is that I have to re-save GBs of offline material each time I re-login. I usually give you guys a 5-star review for multiple reasons but this login issue is killing my workflow.

Box = finally the killer app we were promised..... Remember “web 2.0” and all that talk about a killer app that would arrive from on high and change your life? It never happened, well, not until now. If you have any more than a few files to manage, prepare for the arrival of the messiah and for your life to change. Box is the killer app you were promised. Now repent, you Dropbox savages, there is and can be only 1 true Box, and this is it!

Pretty good on iPad. Wish files would appear alphabetized.. This app works pretty well on my iPad. I wish that files in folders would appear in alphabetical order. I have been using Box a lot over the past 5-6 years, but I will probably will stop using it so much because of changes that they recently made to the laptop app. It has become really inconvenient to use since those recent changes.

PLEASE... Fix your audio playback!!. I love this service and what it can do for artists and clients alike... however, whatever your compression algorithm is doing to the audio is making this service very hard to continue to use. I upload 24bit 48kHz quick times to clients to approve my mixes, and I always tell them to download the files to their computers, and the audio playback is poor. Your program is making audio sound like an MP3 from the 90s! Swimmy and muffled highs, comb-filtering at times with random frequencies. I have read many complaints about this service from many other users about the audio, and after testing this personally, they are correct... your audio compression needs to be fixed / updated.

Box the goto cloud storage. When we first heard of box it was new to our knowing. Little did we know it was soon to become the main addition to our business. Box has steadily improved from when we began using this cloud storage. The simplest way to share and if you upload your music it can double as an online playlist. They have added a workspace that woks just as well as some of the others or even better in some cases. Box cloud storage is a business friend!

Lost Bookmark Access, Constant Offline Syncing. The old app used to be stable and useful, but has recently lost two critical features. 1) the button for accessing bookmarks in PDF documents is just GONE. For large PDF documents in my business, this is a big loss. And 2) The offline docs require constant syncing, pretty much invalidating the usefulness of the feature. It’s also really hard to find the offline docs, which used to have their own main tab. the app has also been very unstable compared to previous versions. Not sure what happened with the developer team, but this version is a big step backward.

Students file transfer DREAM!. Google Drive, doesn’t work. Icloud, i have a windows pc. Dropbox, expensive. Box :) I’m a student right now so I use the free plan. Although this has been the best cloud service I’ve used so far. For now i just use this like a clipboard for files. So ill download a file into box on my IPad, then open said file on my pc. I might download a pdf on my PC and then drag an drop in in box, then read it on my phone or iPad. I love the free tier, and really hope that box is financially successful and is able to maintain the 5gb free tier. In time when I have a steady job, Box is one of those services that did me good for years, so I intend for this to be part of my working adult subscription budget.

I am pretty happy with box but more features. I just noticed that dropbox will convert your audio files to wav. we need this! Because I work in video sound and images, it’s very important that my account allows for me to hold a lot of information and be able to play within the share folder so that don’t have to download the wrong version and someone I share it with Can enjoy it without knowing very much about the file. other than that, I think the application has been great and I probably need to do some cleanup with these folders but I’m very happy.

Apple reimagined the iPad. You should reimagine this app.. After Tuesdays iPad announcement, I’ve been thinking more and more about why I stray towards a laptop instead of my iPad. Apps like Box are exactly why — simple things like I can’t select more than one file at once to AirDrop. When trying to transfer from Mac back into Box on iPad the transfer shows as In Progress but yet after an hour it still sits at 0% completed. Apps are supposed to change the way we work (and at that hopefully for the better, more productive and easier) and yet this app makes me ponder why my company went with Box instead of OneDrive or Dropbox because this is not ready for prime time and its been out for some time, sadly. More recently trying to mark items as favorites I’ll be in the folder and it produces an error that the item no longer exists - the item that’s in the folder that I’m currently in and trying to make as a favorite?! Force closing, logging out logging in etc doesn’t fix it.

It does almost everything. Since I decided to consolidate most of my digital life into Box, it means I’m also using it to view word docs, PDFs, and even listen to music. It doesn’t have the finer features of dedicated viewers or players but it does a decent job through previewing the files. Ideally some form of markup or notation within pdf docs could be saved for collaboration and future reference, that would be a hugely useful addition. But I love having access to my archives of documents, music, photos etc all within the same app.

Disaster under Mac OS Monterey - support is practically non existent.. We used to like Box. But all good will has been destroyed in the past two months by the absolute lack of support to solve very, very serious syncing problems. I have an open ticket with no resolution to my problem. After weeks of asking for more help I have been shunted to a specialist who gives me an unclear set of instructions that I fear will destroy my data. I asked for a phone call but I have received no response in writing or by phone. Very, very disturbing. No amount of pleading will get you a real live person to help you solve syncing problems. We pay monthly for five users but that seems to buy us nothing. Somebody at the very top of this organization isn’t hearing or doesn’t care that their support system is not working! Too bad they used to be a good company.

Once was great!. I don't know what happened to this app but things like the constant "cannot load file" error is just terrible. It has persisted for more than a year. Despite them saying they are going to fix it it persists. It's very tough to remain patient and continue using this app. The fact that you can't upload more than 250 megabyte files without paying is a joke! Many other services have no limit. That and the "cannot load file error" on 80 percent of my photos has me looking elsewhere.

Poor Priorities for App Development, Not for Power/Corporate Users. Box works just fine if you wanted to share files with family members or schoolmates, but it doesn’t have the features in a power user or corporate environment. For example, there aren’t any mass-edit abilities, so I have hundreds of shared files at the top level that I have to remove one-by-one. Also, on iOS I can’t edit text files, just viewing. CMD+F doesn’t search either, as well as a host of other expected hot keys. It appears the developers are spending most the effort integrating into Apples productivity tools like Numbers/Pages/Keynote, but very little effort has been spent making the general experience better. Overall, it works well if you’re in high school or under, but not great otherwise.

Box Is Upping It’s Game. I have used Box for a number of years now. I have always found even the free version to be useful from a personal standpoint. Also, my company has a paid account. I recently attended a webinar and found a lot of tips and new functionality to be very informative. Last night I needed to share some rather large files. They were easy to upload with “drag & drop” and simple to organize in folders. Box Rocks!

No 5 until synchronous collaboration. Please be like google docs but better. I’m sooooo tired of version control which happens in soooo many ways unless locking which also causes problems (oh sam forgot to unlock so I’ll just go ahead and unlock it. Then sam saves the file…..oh office online and a downloaded file crated a save conflict. A mere sampling of ongoing issues with a small collaborative consulting firm. Yes I use office online but you must know that it is limited in design and animation features in ppt especially.

Overall genuinely satisfied. free access. Using this you can see your downloaded files lined up with paper touch stylus that gives the feeling of paper when u turn it i.e when from 1 page to another. Logging into ur google or Microsoft account, after u link ur account with box, u can enjoy any documents sent you via email. It makes it super convenient to use it. Worth a try if you are looking to properly manage ur downloaded files (heavy size mainly).

The technical design of the ui interface is terrible. The technical design of the ui interface is terrible, it feels like it was created by someone who finished a quick course in one week and this is their first job. Why is there no button to select all my files? I want to transfer all my photos and videos, the app tells me I have to select all my 700 photos and videos one by one, why is there no "select all files" button? Why, if the app, when the files stop loading, do I have to click on each file in turn? And it all happens with a big lag, and I have an Iphone 12, and I just rebooted my phone. It's just a horribly technical interface.

Quit fixing things that aren’t broken!. The Box app used to be great. Now, not only is there an annoying sidebar overlay that randomly shows up, my files are basically inaccessible. Same issue everyone else seems to be having. The app freezes after looking at a page or two, it takes forever to load pages, it’s a mess. And it does this on PDFs I have marked as available offline which, you’d think, would make access faster! Nope, not unless I turn wi-fi off on my device. Also, it’s slaughtering my battery life.

Box is not a good photo sharing site. I typically use Smugmug to organize and share photos. It’s a terrific app, super easy to see groups of thumbnail photos. My current employer asked us to use BOX. BOX is a good file cabinet, but it can in no way compare as a photo sharing site. It is difficult to view photos, there is no way to scale or change sizes of thumbnails; there is no way to use a photo as an index to identify folders. I dislike BOX immensely

Good app, lacking full functionality. The Box app works, and for 90% of the uses, it’s great. I don’t understand why it lacks the full functionality of the website though. Two features would make this a five star review: being able to download multiple files from Box (as it is right now, you have to open each file and “share” it to download it individually), and being able to save bookmarks/links. Since I use an iPad as my primary computer, I can’t even open the Box website - it automatically redirects to the app. So if I have to do either of these two things, I have to use another machine. Thankfully I can batch both of these processes, but it’s definitely a drawback if you do them frequently.

Best cloud service. Don’t be fooled! Box is way better than Dropbox. It works exactly how it should: it’s easy to organize and manage files. As a musician I love that it will play audio files in sequence, making it possible to make a mixtape or sequence songs and share. Great for hearing rough mixes on the go and sending them around. After trying SoundCloud, Dropbox, google Drive and others this is BY FAR the best. It doesn’t do any cute crap with the interface or try to curate your files; you can organize them exactly as you want. Plus it’s affordable. Fantastic job, Box people!

Looses files. I have my files here and they were always secure. Suddenly my iPhone started to fill in password and that’s destroyed. All my passwords everywhere don’t like iPhones do it because they mess up your passwords at least that’s what I think. The problem is here. I try to shoot reset the password I try to do everything I Quik to get support access click here to get to the knowledge base I can’t even get to their knowledge base so I don’t call that any support whatsoever. How do I get support? And addition box support from this App Store cause your page that says cannot connect to server and have that with any other website in the world just a box they took all my files. I trusted them another one if I connect me to Support there’s something wrong here

In The past i was very Happy. Now with this new Bold font, i don’t like it at all! I thought it was some kind of error but seems like it’s not. Before you can scroll through your entire library quickly , now you just see some of you files when you open the app and have to search more. Just seemed like it was much quicker to scroll before, with your thumb you can just find stuff quickly like you were reading a e- book . Now it looks clumsy. Not happy with this look at all. Hard to complain when your getting 10 free gigs but i really wish they went back to the original that I had not long ago. I didn’t do any update, so not sure how this happened. Perhaps my phone did an automatic update. I have the iphone x. Not sure if it’s just my version of phone but I doubt it. :(

Great for teams using multiple tools. Box has been great to be able to work seamlessly with others who are operating on different platforms, many of which are heavily restricted in terms of using outside services. Box has been a secure and accessible platform for sharing weekly plans, maintenance tracking, and collaboratively edited files. Box Notes are a key tool for me in coordinating with staff and contractors.

Always there. I have used several cloud services, and Box is the best one out there. Yes, there have been some growing pains as the company matured, but compare to Microsoft services and others that are now defunct, hands down the better & reliable service is Box. One thing, I wish if it was more affordable or provided more storage space for its prices. This still is (2024) my opinion about Box.

great app if you use it right. i use box app along with goodreader. goodreader allows me to do all the fancy stuff and interact with the other apps on my ipad while using box as a depository for my data. box app is great for adding, deleting and backing up files. if you want all the full features of box then use the browser not the app. most of the complaints seem to revolve around trying to get box to do more than intended. as far as battery drain that one user complained about i have no idea what they are talking about since i have never had this problem. box allow user to stay logged in all the time so again not sure what this user is complaining about. i have used dropbox but switched to box as i find it much easier to use. although dropbox does integrate with many more apps. for people using apple products this should not be a big problem since almost all of these apps also integrate with icloud.

Battery Hog. When I first downloaded box I loved it. Then all the sudden it was making me have to sign in every time with the keypad I had it set for my fingerprint sign it. Then all the sudden I started noticing my phone‘s battery was being drained drastically. Thought maybe it was another program I had installed so I uninstalled the other program, and no the battery still kept draining. My husband had installed box on his iPad Pro and on his phone also and he noticed his battery going down fast. Unfortunately we had to uninstall box from our tablets and phones I really like the concept of the app and I hope that you can get this fixed it is a great app and would love to use it.

Getting things done!. I’ve been using Box for a couple of years now as a way to share music files in production for musicians on the go, originally to let them listen to concept songs between gigs. Once the pandemic hit I was glad we had the infrastructure in place to support all the phases of the pre and post production cycles so we could keep moving with developing original tunes, our new way of getting things done! Thank you Box for making this possible.

Nice app, lots of bugs. Really easy to use interface and nice app overall, but there are bugs, synching errors that don't explain what the error is, and some things that could be improved. I highly suggest they improve the MOVE TO FOLDER feature so that people who need to visually see the thumbnails of PDFs or photos can select to be viewed in thumbnail mode in a way that the page remembers that setting, but allow for the setting of the MOVE TO FOLDER pop up window to independently remember a different setting than the main viewer, because it’s necessary to change from thumbnail to information viewing screen to know what folders to move on. However, this changes the main set up so that every single time a file is moved, I have to turn on thumbnail again to see what I’m moving, open the pop up, and then select the info viewer to see what labeled folder im moving into. Not a huge deal, but makes the work very inefficient. Thank you software developers if you are reading.

Great preview, except for Markdown. I chose Box over a competing service because of the great file preview it offered: instead of relying on iOS's builtin preview, it makes a PDF in the cloud and displays that, so you can see your document exactly as it appears in its native app. It even does ODT files! Markdown preview was another great addition and worked for a couple of years, but for the last several months, I have gotten a blank popup every time I tap on a Markdown file. I reported this in the Box forums, but got not reply. So you only get 4 stars until this is fixed.

Sharing. The fact you can’t share files between each other make this app so hard for me considering I have many different t files I transfer back and forth locally I’m my phone and this app makes it impossible I mean if I’m wrong lmk I’d love to be wrong cause cuz it’s very frustrating haveing to make an upload online file then name n download each file which takes forever

Better Than Dropbox. I used to have Dropbox, and when Dropbox did an update, my password stopped working. I never changed it, and I was not able to get any support from them! I lost a LOT of photos and documents. Box is great for businesses too. Our business provided us with an account, which is where I was able to transfer many files when I moved across the country!

Works great except for storage count. I’ve been using the app and service for over five years. The service is great except for one huge flaw. I have to submit Help tickets about 3-4 times per week so the box team can run a script to display accurate storage counts. Otherwise I’m locked out of any further uploads. Even if I delete files the total storage number does not change. This seems like such a core function for a file storage company and it should work. The box teams automated response hasn’t changed in five years. “This is a long term goal for our engineering team.” How much longer should I wait???

Works great. I’m 63 snd suffer from Upgrade Fatigue. Just when I figure out how my Iphone works, they upgrade everything and I have to start over. So I’m pretty resistant to using new Apps, which usually adds new ways to torture me. I recently received a PowerPoint presentation that required me to download Box, and I love it. Very intuitive and easy to use. With IOS 13, it’s easy to turn a web article into a PDF, and store it in Box. Usually with IOS, I can never find my downloads. So Thank you for this App.

Box is Simply the Best!!. Better than all the rest! (To quote a famous singer!) But really… Box is clean & straightforward. Unobtrusive is the word I’d use. . They don’t blast you with sign up demands that block your usage of the app…the interface isn’t bloated with huge ads in your face that are supposed to be what? Fun?! Just what we need in life…MORE ADS?! In case anyone hasn’t noticed, the upload speeds are wonderfully fast and the addition of the sideline apps like Box Notes is a real perc. Box is the clean & straightforward storage sight that does its job with super clean & unobtrusive efficiency that doesn’t ever get on my nerves or in my way. Ever! Thank you Box!!

A step backwards. Recently, Box added a feature that allowed you to open a Box Word document in Word so you could edit the document in addition to viewing it. Before that change, you had to go to Word and go through a process of adding Box access to Word, and then, within the Word application open up a Box file. Very unsatisfying and it was greatly helpful when Box added the feature that allows you to open and edit a Word document while in Box. Regrettably, this feature has mysteriously disappeared from the IOS iPad application. The removal of this feature, coupled with the still horribly slow (after all these years of hoping they would improve the performance) speed of the Box synchronization on the Windows PC, have permanently soured me on Box. All hype and vastly inferior to One Drive, Dropbox and Google Drive.

Wish box was google drive. I really wish box app and service was at least 10% of what google drive offers. The app for iPhone is very user unfriendly and the app on Mac is useless. As an example, when I am syncing files in Mac with box, there’s no status indicator nor a way to pause sync - amazing how google supports such features. Moreover, there’s no way to pick and chose what folders I want synced on my Mac - I have 3 Mac that use from time to time and each for different purpose. Box just dumps al folders to every Mac - google drive handles this feature amazingly well. Useless for me so far

Most everything I need for this kind of application. I’ve been using Box for about a year now, and it’s really proven itself to be a worthy competitor alongside other cloud storage providers these days. The upload speeds are pretty remarkable, and for the base subscription you get a lot of storage for a reasonable amount of money. For someone who primarily uses the mobile application though, a few feature improvements I could highly recommend would be related to the trash file and profile management. Updating card payment information requires the desktop site, and if you attempt to access it from a mobile browser you have to do a couple of things to bypass auto-opening the app and having to start over again from the browser. The trash file is only accessible on desktop as well, which isn’t the most convenient when you quickly decide that you have something in there that needs to be restored. Overall, happy with the service and quality of this. A few adjustments would only make it more user friendly and appealing overall.

Frustrating. Why do I have to keep renaming files because Box reverses my file name changes? This has been going on for weeks and happens several times a day. I initially thought it was related to reordering after a file deletion but that does not appear to be the case. No change to process seems to correct the problem. Please fix your annoying and time wasting bug. 5 Years ago: I use Box every day to move my art between computers and devices. The web page end of the app has been unusable for days, which makes the entire thing unusable. Please be responsible and test your changes before you make them public, this has gone on long enough.

Something happened. Something happened, and a five star app went to a two or three star app. Thankfully, it appears that I don’t have to login each time I open the document. However, many of my pictures will not show now. Something is wrong with this new iteration. This has been a stellar app, and no doubt will continue to be, but somethings wrong with this version.

Great, changed my opinion. I initially gave it 1 star back in last year when they first offered 50gb for iphone due to slow and crash uploads. They fixed that and now is pretty nice. Although be nice to have a desktop program like all other clouds. Summary: Dropbox wins speed but lost to free storage size Sugarsync wins for good flexible n fast but loat to storing craps in account that you cant delete like photos Spideroak wins security but lost to speed and user friendly-ness. Box wins free storage amount but lost a bit to speed and desktop friendly-ness. Overall i use many clouds and box is great and future looks good. Update 2023: this team does listen to users and just want to stop by to say thank.

Sorry. Last Update Was Enough. We’ve used Box for years now. But I’ve noticed its not keeping up with tech changes other cloud drives are. Can’t play videos even after updating the app. It just says “preview image unavailable.” When I play songs or audiobooks, it doesn’t remember where you left off, in the event you need to switch apps temporarily. There are no playlist options I can use to add files to, to play them once the current file is done and automatically start the next one in a different Box folder. Also, when listening to an audio file, Box has the slider but doesn’t have the rewind or fast forward 10, 15, or 30 seconds buttons. Instead we need to manually slide back in case we need to listen to something again real quick. Well, what about if you’re in the car? It’s a pain. And worse yet, the app is always either crashing or taking too long to load the next file. Sorry Box but we need to part ways. I’ve found better now.

Forget playlists. Even after contacting Box two years ago then once more recently, they appear to refuse to allow audio files in a folder to be manually re-positioned for playback per the user’s discretion. BOX OFFERS NO OTHER OPTION BUT BY DATE. Even if you start a new folder and transfer individual files in the order you want them played back, this app STILL ORDERS THEM BY ORIGINAL DATE ONLY. A good app otherwise for general storage, but FORGET CUSTOMIZED AUDIO PLAYBACK LISTS for now. Must be too much like “rocket science” for Box, I guess.

Reliable. I received my records timely and all items as promised. So far they’ve been available for me to view anytime I need in this app which I greatly appreciate. I haven’t had time to move them to a thumb drive. I’m not sure how long they’ll be available in the Box app. I couldn’t remember my password when first logging in and the support staff was extremely prompt, professional and helpful when I sent a message asking for help. I recommend this app for this reason and ease of use. 🙂

APP IS FREEZING UP ON STARTUP. Use the app a lot between multiple devices and noticed several times during the day the app freezes up on launch...clear the app and launch again then it freezes again. Launch a third time and it starts up. Also noticed that when I try to view my documents or images while scrolling it may show the 1st, 2nd and third images but then the 4th image will be a blank image but the next will reveal. Try to scroll back to image it’s still blank page. Close and relaunch app and it shows the blank image but several images later it will be blank again. Using iPhone 8.0 with current apple iOS

Worst uploading process. I was forced to move to Box because it’s used by my new university. Would never recommend it. It has the worst upload methods of any of the cloud services by a wide margin. I’m currently babysitting an upload process on my Windows machine, file by file, taking me hours and hours of unpaid labor. It was impossible to use this app, or the Box Drive program on Windows, because apparently my file folders are too big. It keeps hanging up and failing to upload for reasons it doesn’t explain. It also freezes. It’s pathetic how bad this is compared to dropbox or google drive. Would give 0 stars if possible.

iOS 11 Files app used to work, not this release. The previous release of the Box app worked as expected with the iOS 11 Files app, add Box in locations, authenticate and see your Box files in the Files app. Updated Box app today (9/24) and Files now says you must authenticate in Box app. From this point forward you can’t access Box files inside Files, you’re redirected to the Box app.

Activity panel is maddening. The default to display the Activity panel on the right side (a “feature” that wasn’t always there) is so frustrating. Having to expand it to show the whole doc (over and over and over) pushes me to switch to another device, which I otherwise really don’t want to do. Please get rid of it or at least make it an option instead of the default.

Cannot log in via google. Can’t use the app as I can only log in via a google account. Works on website but not in the app.

No webp support. Does not support webp pictures

Lost all Directories. I have recently noticed all my directories have disappeared. When I logged in they were there and within a minute they just disappeared without any warning or notice. This is very weak on BOX’s behalf as I rely on the availability of having access to my data. This has always been my fear of using the cloud, is that you have no control of your data and then have to beg to get something done to correct the issue. This is time waisted and would rather carrier around a HD and have a physical backup at least I know I have control. Please could you looking in to this and have it corrected ASAP Thanks

Reliable & works!. I’ve been using this for a while to move photos between devices & it’s never failed. Using the free version which gives me a lot more space than Dropbox. I also find it’s organisation simpler.

No brainer. So much simpler and cheaper than Dropbox!

Slow, bugs, seems to lock up on updates, offline files frustrating. Seem to be unable to share files to it from other apps - the icon is there but it just crashes when it tries. Offline is unreliable, gets “stuck” on a file, or seems to, if you mark a folder for offline, keep trying to redownload entire folder simple because a single file was updated in it (this might not be the case, but it does repeatedly try to download my half-gig folder having already once succeeded). Uploading is slow, well beyond any network slowness. It’s just generally slow when you try to preview a file. And if things do get “stuck” you need to kill the app to get it to do any more of its background stuff. All this fiddling around versus its main, cross-platform, cross-OS competition which seems to just do its thing... generally disappointing. I want a cloud solution to keep personal seperate from (home) work, but this doesn’t seem to be it.

Can’t change my email. No way to change my email address. I send emails but never reply back to me. I felt really really rude.

Avoid. Complete garbage, can’t download anything and won’t sync, stuck in waiting for no reason

Slowly getting worse. With every new 'bug fixing' release, new bugs appear. Swiping images does not work reliably, you have to swipe the length of the screen. Sometimes leaves images half overlapping the screen when you try to swipe to the next image. Changing between portrait and landscape can also leave the app in a state where the UI stops working. Refreshing folder contents takes forever. Favourites do not work, after a certain number of fave images new ones just stopped appearing in the list. I often end up manually killing the app several times per session to workaround bugs. And I could go on. Terrible app for storing images, maybe useful for something else I don't know.

Does not upload.. Select video. Press 'Upload'. (Silence) No progress bar, no feedback, nothing. Is it uploading? Don't think so. No.

Awesome cloud storage. Love Box lots!! It’s so easy to use and simple to sort and search for docs within!! I use it personally and professionally

Photos uploaded out of order. Needed photos uploaded in order of selection and the order was all over the place. This proved to be a pain.

Tedious. Constantly freezes when swiping through images, and struggles to cache images appropriately. Please change the video playback control to be the standard control used throughout iOS. This custom one is buggy and under-featured. Favourite management is awkward, would be good to swipe through multiple favourites the same as in folders, instead of having to open and close each one separately.

UX UI design is very clean and legible.. My favourite app in these days.

Won't send email for sign in. Tried to sign in. Says will send an email. Doesn't do it.

Deactivated my accounts without warning. Deactivated several of my accounts with valuable data, support is unresponsive. Also right before my accounts were deactivated ‘Storage Used’ in account settings did not match the real storage used. Something dodgy going on with this cloud provider. I am moving all of my files. Untrustworthy....avoid at all cost!!!

Unusable since last few updates. Use to work perfectly. A few updates ago it become buggy and would freeze and eventually crash when viewing multiple files. Now after latest updates, flicking through 3 files and crashes. Cannot reopen as it just constantly crashes. Don’t know what has changes but this app is rubbish now!

Can we please add. Feature to open files in other apps like excel, word, documents, iBooks etc?

Good cloud storage, even the free account. I’ve been using Box for a couple of years and have only encountered an occasional problem and these were fixed very easily and quickly. My only gripe is with the iOS app that it doesn’t recognise the email field and prompt the password manager to enter the email address that’s used for the account. Once you get to the next screen and you’re asked for your password, of course the app will automatically invoke the password manager. But if you’re looking to try and protect yourself against keystroke logging, then automatic filling in the email address would be a better way of doing things.

Good for storage. Box is good to store files and share them but once you start updating your files like word / excel files and saving them back - all kind of problems appear ( not syncing or not updated or blocked out or can't see the file anymore ) we are now forced to get a different platform coz we lose valuable time and data in between

Great but expensive for individual or family use. This is a great way to store all online content but the price is high. I could buy a portable hard drive every 3 months, instead. But the security is good and it removes risk of virus on hard drive contaminating the drive so I pay the cost. Wish the had a non-commercial option.

Don't be fooled. If you were like me saying, wow 50Gb FOR FREE!!! I'd be mad not to get this please think twice before downloading. I do everything on my iPad because It's usually easier. I looked at this app and thought I could use this to collaborate with my university friends on projects etc. BUT! It is just about impossible to upload ANYTHING using the iPad app let alone documents. Apparently you can email things to box but if I have to do that I'd simply email it to my friend in stead it's not worth the download probably fine if you use the website on your computer and just want to access the files offline but for uploading documents to be accessed later in for iOS devices just get Evernote or Dropbox. Oh and did I mention you can't even "open in" from a website on box?!? This isn't with it in a mobile device.

Wow. Have been using box in my MacBook Air for months now and only used the iPhone app for the first time today. The ability to see all activity in the updates section is seriously useful and the preview/download of docs is even better than on the Mac. Needs some work on the apps claiming to offer editing capabilities. I've tried them all and 'if' they work at all they are slow to load, and most of them lose the documents formatting which is extremely frustrating. It's quicker to download, edit, save and upload again. Which basically reduces Box to a secure docent filing Cloud. l

Best File Storage Site by far ✔️. Been using this for years now and it has never let me down. Just grts better and better. Tried dropbox once it was the worst app I’ve ever used and was totally unavigatible with next to no storage. I have no idea what drugs,CM Jenkins, is on but he’s a twit. Use this and don’t look back. 100% approved ✔️ ♠️

This app keeps failing. Fails constantly

Business. We asked for our account billing to be changed from US $ to AUS$ as our business is in Australia. In doing so my Box account was deleted. No access, to any of our files for 3 days & counting now. After numerous attempts to contact support, all we get is fobbed off. Email saying log in & change a setting. WE CAN’T LOG IN as somehow when the change was done by BOX my account no longer exists- ie can’t log in to an account that has been removed or deleted. Follow up has been horrendous. What business can go 3 days without its files ?? The support phone number is constantly unattended or not supported. An emails go I responded. So disappointed, by such a lack of support. For something that seems to have been a simple but painful error made by Box Administration.

App malfunctions, no support. I have used this service on IOS since 2014 and suddenly I cannot upload multiple images to my Box from the IOS app. There is no accessible customer support and this is such an off-put as a long time user of what used to be a reliable service and platform.

Awesome App for Cataloguing. Absolutely love this amazing app. It has allowed me to catalogue all of my inventory of stamps, die-cuts, etc. And since, once you sync everything to BOX, you can also view all of your files off-line, you no longer end up with doubles of everything. LOL! I highly recommend this App to everyone

Disconnect frequently. It disconnect all alone since the last version. Sometimes 2-3 times daily. And with two factors authentication enabled and Last pass for the password, it's a mess of 3-4 minutes everytime. I hope it gets fixed real soon.

Annoying and the uploads take so long. This app is horrible. To upload a photo takes so long and half the time it fails and you have to retry it. Also, you can only upload a few pics at a time or it gets overloaded and crashes. The worst. If I didn’t have to use it for work, I would delete it and never use it again.

Lost feature. Love the app. It’s been reliable and simple to use but recently the option to select a photo and click “upload to box” has disappeared. Now I’ve got to open the app and add from within. Not sure why we’re going backwards?

Stupid version update. Logs me out often even without SSO

Good if you have an account. If you have an account you are all set to go. If you want to share a file with people who don’t have a Box account, they are forced to create an account before they can get the file. Dropbox does the same which is why I stopped using it. I will stick with my Amazon Drive.

Crashed and logs out. Difficult to use and unstable

Uploading photo problem. These days when uploaded photos from iphone, the photos cannot be seen and the file saved as .plist file. Please fix this. In general, the app is very good!

Cant download my own pictures anymore. I uploaded few pics from my iphone and trying to download them back and there no option to download from the app. I remember I was able to do in the past. Free 50 GB still being used. This is still a great place for me to store some of my audio files and e-books. They make for easy access whenever I change devices. Plus, I can listen to some of my audio files here. Plus, sharing certain documents is a breeze. Very happy with the product so far.

Offline music is not working anymore!!’. I noticed that when I was listening to music it was sapping my data on my cellphone. I confirmed this by going airplane mode: unable to play music!! Edit: the whole offline feature is very buggy and I needed to uninstall to try again. I see weird things like synching 0 out of 1 files. Never ending completion. Multiple errors and so on. Please fix this!!

Offline listening bugs. Offline listening is a huge plus on this app but they keep undownloading my saved files.

PDF Scrolling & App Sign In. PDF scrolling needs more work. If you zoom in and use vertical scrolling, it keeps resetting the zoom with each page. Basically you have to zoom in on each page. App keeps logging out almost daily on iPad running iOS 11.

Photos disappeared for no reason. Photos went missing

2FA does not work on iPad. I have 2FA set up and can log in on the web fine. When I try to log in with the iPad app, I can’t use my 2FA app codes as it wants to text me instead. Fine. I get the code and enter it, then it tells me the code has expired. How long do these codes last, 5 seconds? It’s literally been years that I can’t use the iPad app. I thought I’d give it another try today but still can’t get in. Disappointing.

MFA not working. This app hasn’t been working for me on the iPad for over 3 months now. It keeps asking me to MFA and the code received is always expires thus I’m unable to login. Login works on safari but not this app. Disappointing experience.

Dark Mode & Recycle Bin. Please add dark mode to notes/documents and allow us to access the recycle bin from the app. Makes no sense that we have to log onto the web version for these features.

Box just works. And it works on older devices, so it’s a keeper for me.

Version 5.1.2 still very buggy with save to device. Was hoping the new 5.1.2 would fix the issues with “make available offline” but the bugs are still there. Saving to device would take forever and hang at the final stage. Application then crashes within a few seconds of opening. If you don’t use this feature, then yes the application is good.

Nothing more infuriating than broken help links. Was going to send a nice polite ticket, but every possible link is either broken or tries to make me sign up for another service. So here’s a one star review. iOS file name conflicts now result in a failed upload instead of the “overwrite or new” dialogue we used to get. Fix it and fix and fix your support links. Update: prompting users for a rating and a review while they’re in the middle of trying to do things results in a 1* review. So … still bad, but now for more reasons.

Deleting files itself. This cloud is deleting files itself. If I could I would give 0 stars. Not reliable don’t download.

Ok data storage lacking simple capabilities. Box is frustrating in that having several excellent features such as emailing files to folders, it comes up short by not working with iPad OS markup. Plus its interface with “save to files” is sporadic at best

Used to be my favorite. Since last week, Box is not longer listed in iOS or any other app as an « Open with Box » option. This makes the app completely useless for daily file manipulations. Fix this, otherwise all we can save are pictures from the app ... very limited and disappointed

No longer works after most recent update.. Ive loved this app for a long time but after the new update the app no longer works. It wont upload even a single photo. It says that its uploading them at an amazingly high speed compared to before the update, and it says "work complete," but none of the photos have actually been uploaded. Considering I cant hook my phone up to a computer (long story) this app was the only way I could make space on my phone without losing my photos. Im now worried that the app might also start deleting photos and videos that I uploaded in the past. It hasnt randomly deleted my content before (a reason I choose this app over the other storage apps), but I wouldnt be surprised considering the new flaw in the app.

Use the Box. Box is a great file sharing app. An e-mail is sent to who you want to share the file location with, and they are the only ones who can use it. Also, You can have a Box drive that makes the shared file location look like another folder on your computer. The best.

Huge header on iOS app, very little usable space. For reasons that I do not understand the devs of the iOS app choose to make the header huge. It’s a third of the vertical screen real estate. It leaves insufficient screen space for what matters: my data. Seems like it would be an easy fix. If they change it I’ll reconsider switching over from Dropbox, but for now this app just kills it for me. And I have the biggest iPhone screen size there is!

This app needs an upgrade. This app would be great, IF it actually worked. Unfortunately, majority of the time, it doesn’t. Or if it does, it’s AWFULLY SLOW. Good luck uploading large files or a lot of small files it once.. What should normally take maybe a few minutes to upload will take FOREVER with box.. I’m talking an hour or more. Also, it often won’t load pictures/videos AT ALL. It will literally show a blank screen instead of loading the picture, no matter how long you wait. Bad functionality all around.

Newly unusable. I’ve been using box on my iPad, iPhone and computers for years. As of a couple of days ago, the app on iOS is asking me to sign in a new every single time. Because I have two step verification turned on, this is a serious hassle. Is there some weird security issue going on with Box? Are you all trying to earn more money from those of us who have been with you for a long time asking us to subscribe or something? (schmucky if so) Or is this just some terrible bug? In any case I do not, emphasize not,recommend starting out with this app it it is new to you until the Box folks repair it.

Long-time Boxer. I’ve been a Boxer since 2011 when I obtained a complimentary lifetime 50GB membership with the purchase of the now defunct HP TouchPad. The TouchPad was discontinued within a year of its debut but Box has survived, thrived, and kept its promise. The service is always reliable, fast, and always improving. A big thumbs up.

Sync not working. I have tried all different ways of troubleshooting and cannot get app to sync with my iPad. I’ve had this app through many generations of iPads and am disappointed it isn’t working well with my iPad 6. It is fine with my MacBook Pro, just not my iPad right now.

A few problems, almost perfect. Problems that are still here and aren't making this 5/5 -Zooming is still a little wonky (occasionally doesn't zoom in by doubletap) and you might need to troubleshoot by exiting image preview and reentering it. -Landscape swiping is still difficult and requires you to swipe halfway across the screen when it should be a small flick to view the next file.

It’s Good but Needs Updating. It’s alright, but it is extremely glitchy. It takes so long to download just a couple of files and if you exit the app for too long it will cancel all those uploads and you have to restart. It also is confusing as to how many files get uploaded so you’re unable to keep track because the number is inaccurate. I like how much storage it has and it is pretty easy to use, just needs to fix those design issues.

Great business tool. I have used box for several years now! I’m very impressed with the outcome of box, my company is utilizing box for digital filing of important paperwork and documents sharing with my colleagues. Using box is a great way to transferring paperwork online in larger files, great business tool to have and use on a regular basis. Thanks

Excellent Customer Service. My account was suspended for reasons unknown to me. I was denied access and submitted a request for help per the sites institutions Within the week I got a reply that my issue was resolved and apologizing for the occurrence. I was able to log in and my files were still there. Thanks!!! My Dropbox account has been suspend

No way to adjust seats. I’ve used Box for several years and I want to continue to use it but I don’t need the number of licenses that it’s forcing me to buy. I’ve tried several times to contact somebody at box to reduce the licenses but without success. There’s no way to reduce licenses online.

Musicians look no further!. Box is bar none my favorite way to transfer sessions, takes, and mixed down finals to clients. I use it nearly everyday. Do yourself a favor, pick it up. They are constantly updating the app to make it easier and easier to use and I am very happy with the changes even after 4+ years with the service. Box, You guys are awesome. Keep up all the good work!

Box is the best. I’ve used dropbox, SharePoint, one drive etc., and box is the best. It renders the most quickly on my phone, it has a built-in runtime player for video even during preview, and the file system is reliable. The admin tools are first rate, and the helpdesk cares and is very quick to respond. I love Box!

Had to Uninstall. Terrible. Established account, verified, then wouldn't allow me in. Had to establish a new account. Different email because they said I had an account there with the first email. Same thing happened. No access and never received second email to verify as stated in the app! I cannot believe Apple recommended this app. It is horrible. You can't even register. NO STARS. I verified 2 emails sent— delete all of my information please! Sheesh they make you give a star. Fine. I give 1 star but there should be a space for ZERO.

Upload needs to access Files. Overall, the app is great for retrieving and opening files; however, I cannot upload files such as Word documents or pdf files because there is no option to access the “Files” app in the iOS interface. I have to go the actual Box website through Chrome to upload a file.

Would be helpful but.... The concept of the app is nice and simple but there is one very painful quirk that hasn’t gone away. I’m not certain that it is the app and not the iPhone implementation of it but regardless it’s obnoxious and takes extra time to work around. I use Box mostly for building prints and anytime I try to scroll through a document I am exited out of said document. It makes the app nearly unusable. Maybe I’m being hyperbolic but if this didn’t happen, it wouldn’t get a bad review.

Issue on iOS 15.4. When I select files and because the file names are a little too long so I decide to turn my iphone in landscape view then the selection disappears so I have to re select again the files I want to move. When selected in landscape view and if I turn back my iphone in portrait view then the selection disappears again …

Do not use this app. When I first downloaded it everything went smooth. 6 months ago it would no longer accept my password and no matter how many times I updated it, the app would not take my new password. I’ve been unable to get access to my files for 6 months. I also can’t get into the website because it won’t accept my payment info and until that’s completed you will NOT have access to your files.

VoiceOver is now broken. It used to be that you could use voiceover to read the word document, automatically turning pages. The newest version of Box disable that. As that was the biggest feature that I used in the app, the app is now useless to me and I have to go to a computer to have the documents recited to me. I get eyestrain and I cannot read documents on the computer, and printing them out waste paper. So the new version is bad for the environment. I may just go to Google Drive or Dropbox and take all my writing groups with me.

Continuing ideas. I have it in my iphone, ipad and many MS Surfaces. I can work in any of those devices in any moment. Very successful approach. And better than dropbox because with box I don’t have limit number of devices (dropbox just 3). In box is Very easy to share my files with other apps. A five star definitely.

Picture Imperfect. I’ve been using Box for a few years now and the iOS app experience for images constantly seems to be getting worse. Swiping between images in a folder was always tricky and not as swift as the photos app in iOS but now when you swipe to see the next image the screen goes blank and you have close the viewer and select the image again to see it. Also when loading a folder full of images the images flicker constantly. No other cloud storage app seems to have this issue.

Problems. For the last week Box on my iPad Air crashes when trying to preview pics in a folder. It will load 10 to 15 pics and then the whole app quits. I can view indivual files just fine Updated to latest version and IOS 12.4. Please fix as it’s not really usable right now.

I tried Dropbox for my business Box is better. It’s the little things that makes a difference- Dropbox has more bells and whistles but when it come to collaboration Box is just easier to use- simple and effective. Too many hoops to jump through with Dropbox

Last update not good. The app was working just fine until the last update. I was able to listen to audio files continuously even while working in other apps. Now I have to keep the app open and the audio file will shut off randomly between every two and five minutes. Which also means I have to keep tapping the screen every few minutes to keep listening. This isn’t working for me and it’s seriously inconvenient. May have to move everything to Dropbox.

Review. Great way to transfer large files from one device to another. You don’t have to be tech savvy to use this program. It’s open, place files in one device, open Box in another device and download. Easy

Poor MS Office Integration. The iOS Box app doesn’t function with the iOS MS Word and other office after this last update. Im fortunate that my company has both OneDrive & Box so I moved my storage to OneDrive after the MS functionality is no longer supported. It integrates and works much better. It does seem to work better with the web and on my laptop but it really doesn’t work with the iOS app.

10+ years and still LOVE Box. I’ve been using the Box cloud service for many years now and have never had anything but a great experience. At the time I was not familiar with cloud services. Box has continued to update the app as use for such services has changed over the years. I often suggest the service to others.

functions broken. First, App Support link in iOS App Store leads to Safari error about too many redirects. Wanted to report app issue but can't, of course. Second, app persistently presents New Notifications Available message when opening app notifications settings. Message instructs to update app in order to see New options. However, app is as up to date as iOS App Store allows. App and Box drive are OK. Have to use because of employer.

Cannot fine-tune access rights at the folder level. This is a major gap - I frequently have a need to control access by folder and I can’t with the current product. This is essential functionality. Adding this feature should really be the highest priority item for the company in my view.

The latest version is BUGGY!. I have used this app for years. However, the last couple of updates have been very buggy. I have an iPhone 11 and when viewing pictures the background used to be black; now it is white 😩. When trying to go through many pictures at a time the app almost always freezes and I have to force-close and reopen. Does not seem to matter if I’m on Wi-Fi or cellular.

Is Box going out of business?. Be very careful before you put your company data in this app. I have been quite happy for 5 years with them. Now We are having severe problems with box data and the have no way to call them and thier customer service won’t respond. I can’t help but wonder if they are having big internal issues

Best app. I have been using Box in browser mode and in app. Since I do lot of collaboration with my team the task management feature was good in browser but I did not find any task management feature in the app. Since I am always moving around , I would love that box makes task management feature available in app too. Otherwise a perfect app for work

Can’t download Box app 😕. After years of using Box, my iPad quit working. We reloaded the same image on to a new iPad but now App Store won’t let me download the app and complains I need to upgrade my iOS version. It’s irritating because I was just using Box on my now broken iPad on that version (with 2FA.) While I work out what to do about the apps which will break when I upgrade, I can’t put Box files into emails from Box - breaking a major part of my workflow. Epson iPrint still lets me scan into Box, thank goodness, but now it’s extra work to send multiple files by email. Boo.

No complaints. I had to get this app for a art course, and it has worked well. I’m not sure if I just didn’t see it, but it would be nice if the mobile version could come with a two way authentication option. It’s a solid way to share files.

Love it but.... Box is great! The only thing I wish I could do with it is organize collaborative folders that I don’t own in the way I want to see them in my own box. I have a system to organize my folders that gets messed up every time someone adds me as a collaborator on their folder.

Light years ahead of dropbox!. Box is simple and intuitive to use unlike some other apps I can mention! It is extremely easy to upload, download, edit, share folders and keep other folders private. It is just a joy to work with.

Latest update makes it crash on open. Good luck getting your files on this latest update. Not only is it a forced update in the sense you can’t get your files until you update, it doesn’t do any good because afterwards the app tries to show you what’s new and immediately crashes when you login! Screw you box! I have files I need and can’t get them! What kind of update is this?! Yet another way to force us to pay you money to get our files from your stupid servers?!

Will not refund money. Ordered by mistake, spent one hour the same day trying to find email or someway to contact them, they lead you to a website that you have to register your name and so on!!! Please don’t purchase!!! Today I finally had opportunity to request refund and immediately had response that I do not meet requirements for a refund!! BAD EXPERIENCE!! No customer service at all!!!!

Crazy complicated world makes sense when you use BOX. All those little pieces of paper that are impossible to find, that are impossible to file, and those pieces that create mounds of clutter in the corners of drawers and boxes in closets… Box has restored my sanity and sense of ease. Thankfully and joyfully…BRAVO, my son for introducing this special gift to me! Paul F.

BETTER THAN DROPBOX. This app is seriously a godsend, I’m so happy I found it through an art website. It’s great for content creators and artists. Definitely switched from DropBox and Gmail to this, faster speeds and more layered security as well (although I wish it had the option to not disclose profile information while collaborating).

PLEASE UPDATE!!! IN 2022. App works great but please issue an update for when u listing to an audio clip. The share button is only clickable once if u try to use it again for another audio clip in your library u have to exit out the app again to click anything from the share menu tool bar at the bottom.

Bugs. Lots of glitching on the iPhone. I use this a lot for work, and it gets the job done, so I’m giving it some stars. The main problem is when I open a spreadsheet on my iPhone, it often closes out while I’m using it. When I say often, I mean like every 3rd click or scroll will cause the whole page to close down. It’s frustrating but functional.

Fatal Bug: “Not a priority to fix it”. The app is otherwise great, and would receive a 5 star review if it weren’t for a fatal bug that their support said they were aware of, but they have no plans to repair. When writing in a box note, the bug causes the cursor to jump away from your present location frequently, rendering the app impossible to use for box notes. If you use box notes, the app is almost unusable because of this. Our enterprise does, so this is disappointing. We opened a case, and they said they were aware of the bug, but have no plans to fix it. Some bugs aren’t a priority, they said. Reassuring, right?

Awful. Box service via web works great. This app does not work well. I’ve tried to upload two video files, about 1 min each, several times. I get an error message, a prompt to retry, and then a message that the app can’t retry. I tried the same files with OneDrive, worked immediately. Box FAQ/support is useless here. Hopefully the app works for you, but if it does not, please try another cloud service if you need to upload large files from your phone or tablet.

Error message. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because i can still view the files I’m trying to save, just not in the folders I need them. If I would log into my account from another device I wouldn’t have any folders at all in there! Every time I try to save the files I get an error message!

Thanks for the update but..... I like box very much however, there are still sync issues between all devices. Excel for example is a huge issue - repeated messages that say cannot sync. Frustrating. If I’m at a meeting and want to open a file - message states generating preview but says cannot. Repeatedly same error message. I’m looking for another program

Viewing anything in app is abysmal. I love Box’s service but many aspects of their app are unbelievably bad. I cannot swipe through PDFs or Powerpoint documents without having to make three very exaggerated attempts for the app to realize that I wish to go to the next page. There is no ability to tap to advance pages. Additionally, these swipes often open the app’s “Activity” side pane which is absolutely useless to me. Please fix these issues to make the app usable!

New update makes it useless. I’m a musician. I send new mixes to band members all the time using box because it has been an amazing thing. The last iOS update and box update does this: I get logged out ever 3.5 mins and have to re-enter email & password and if I’m playing new mixes via Bluetooth it stops playing because I got logged out. Can’t even finish a song via Bluetooth. Frustrating for sure, been happening for a few days and I’m trying to work on the final mixes for a new album due for release in feb 2020 and can’t use box. Going elsewhere for now, probably be back if this gets worked out.

Best Cloud Storage. I have counted on Box to store my “paperless” personal files for years, and I’ve never experienced problems with speed, reliability or security. Of all the options out there, this one serves all of my storage needs. I’ve even stopped storing files locally because of the numerous devices I use.

Needs Drag and Drop Support. The Box app for iPad is largely fine. I like the ability to quickly open a file in Microsoft Word and then be directed back to the app when closing. I would request however Drag and Drop support as it would make file management, especially when downloading files from email, more seamless and simpler to use.
