Stopped working after update. This used to be my favorite app. I used it every day and this app still doesnt work after months now. Deleting and redownloading doesnt fix it

Please fix the dumping.. I get dumped out. Never used to be that way. I’m hoping they fix this. Because this is my top choice.

Keeps on kicking me out of app. I have used this app for a long time but recently it has been kicking me out of the app when i try to go click on any of the scriptures. I have updated everything so i know it isn’t a update. Please help to fix this issue.

Great. This is great it is a way to have my scriptures with me all the time and I love the updates on it but one thing I'd like to have is a way to highlight scriptures and words!!! That would be amazing different colors of highlights that'd be way nice!! Another great app would be the hymn book!! And I have to say one thing to all of you that say that Mormons are not true Christians what I want to know is have you ever met any in my line of work I have had the privlage of working along side many of them and without a doubt they are more Christian then any one so give them a chance listen to them as they will listen to you. Be like Christ and accept everyone not just those who can make you a higher social status. Just understand jesus will accept all so should you and I!

1/10. Not enough wives

Version no good with iOS 11.. The app needs to be updated to be compatible with iOS 11. App will not open now.

A good start. I purchased the 'other' scriptures app, so I thought I'd download this and give it a shot. The best part is, of course, that it's free. But I've noticed a few things: the text is a touch on the small side, and it doesn't fill the screen (there is white space on either side). It also doesn't remember where you were when you close the app and open it back up. That's a big downside for me, as I lose my place when coming back to it (the other app remember and re-opens the chapter you were on--though it doesn't take you to the actual verse). This one also ONLY has the standard works...no hymns, conference talks, eq/rs manual, etc. All that said, this is free, and it's a great start. Give it a couple updates and I think this could definitely stack up against the other scriptures app.

Audio not working. Recently, when I try to listen on audio, the play/pause bar comes up, but it won't play the audio. Please fix!!

Dumping problem. I have use this app for many years and enjoyed being able to look up and read scriptures at will moving from one book to another. But recently, when I try to look anything up, I can open the different books to see the different sections, but when I try to open any further, it dumps me from the app.

Ex-morman. I have not been to any church in a long time but the last time I went to a morman church was even longer. I don't really know what I beleive anymore but to hear people say that these are not scriptures obviously have no clue what the mormon church is all about. Scriptures are the word of god and if u read this then u will see that the word of god does show up. I can not stand how somepeople can try to destroy one religion just because they are a crazy fanatic. Thoughs people feel like they are high and mighty but what they so not understand is by bashig someone elses belief is being judgemental and doesn't the bible say judge not yet ye be judged? You people should be ashamed of yourselves and go pray about your own salvation because you might not be as high and mighty as you thought you were. Now that I have gotten that out, this app is pretty good. There are somebthinfs I would add like highlighting and such but it is actually pretty easy to navigate. This app actually might MIGHT get me back into researching what religion is right for me, if any at all.

Highlighters and audio does not work.. Good app, however I am disapointed in that the highlighters do not work correctly. The audio has also disappeared.

Highlighters Don’t Work Correctly on 12.9” iPad Pro. I’ve been using the scriptures for years and they’re great! However, I recently purchased an iPad Pro 12.9” and the highlighters don’t always work correctly on that resolution (yet). For example, the labels (when you can get the Label Editing to work) are offset to the left of the pencil graphics. If you know about this, you can make it work - however, the programming staff need to make adjustments to make it line-up and work correctly. I completely rebooted my iPad, I restored the in-app purchase and sometimes this works - sometimes it doesn’t (maybe has something to do with landscape mode on the iPad Pro 12.9” model). I’ll be glad to change the rating to “Five Stars” when this gets fixed.

Updated review. My 3 complaints in my original review have been fixed in the subsequent update, so I'm upping my rating to 4 stars. The app still desperately needs a button to go to the next chapter. Also, tilt scrolling would be an awesome addition. The search feature is phenomenal. All in all a great effort (and appreciated!). Keep up the good work - I can't wait to see what will come with future updates. Sidenote to all the haters: please keep your anti-Mormon propaganda to yourselves. I'm sure some of your preachers have given you the mandate to smear Mormons anonymously online whenever you get the chance, but this is not the place to do it. iTunes reviews are for the apps, not for your hateful theological criticisms. Thank you. And to Apple, please remove those so-called "reviews" that are nothing but religious attacks.

Not working. This app stopped working!

Highlighter does not work. App freezes up when trying to use highlighter. Do not pay fir the highlighter feature.

Great app. I absolutely love this app. I have used it a gajillion times over the years. It has quit working for me , now. I hope this is temporary.

Paid for highlighting feature.. not working. Not only is the highlighting feature not working that I just paid for, but there’s nowhere to report the problem or submit an error report. Everywhere I turn is says ‘error, page not found’ or doesn’t exist anymore. I’ll gladly remove this review if this error can be fixed..

My go-to scripture source. I have used the Scriptures app for years and really like it. I find it faster and easier to look up books and verses than other apps. For the new dual language feature, how about adding one of the modern English Bible translations as an option? I'd use that a lot and expect others would, too.

Grammar Typo. There is a typo in Moroni 3:3. Look it over with a paper Book of Mormon and this app version. Just a couple grammar typos. There is another typo in 1 Samuel 12:21. “...goafter...”

Bookmarks gone?. What are you thinking?

Doctrine and Covenants won’t open…. I can open and read all of the standard works except the Do trine and Covenants in this app. For some reason, whenever I try to open the Doctrine and Covenants in this app, I get dump d out of the app and back onto my Home Screen. I use other apps to read scriptures but if I wish to compare things I read with other standard works, I like to use this app so I can flip back and forth between the two texts. However, recently I have been unable to open the Doctrine and Covenants. I have deleted and reinstalled the app a couple of times to no effect. Everything except the Doctrine and Covenants opens and can be read normally. It looks like you have a broken link…Would you fix this please? Thank you.

Highlighters. Why do I have to purchase highlighters every time I get a new phone? It's ridiculous.

Thanks for a good app. I appreciate this app. It is very useful. I would love to see more features and content if you have the time, but want to say thanks for what is already done and given for free. This app is simple and easy to use. Looks very refined as far as formatting goes. I suggest modeling future updates after yanceyreader. With it's pop-up windows when clicking on footnotes and ability to resize text, bookmark, and other features it was the best scripture app I have used. Overall, this is a great free app for the LDS crowd and any who are interested in learning more about LDS theology (most of the bashers should learn more and become informed before commenting blindly).

Awesome!. Truly and awesome app! It's prefect for getting a quick read in on the go or during sacrament. You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this, and it's awesome that you made it free for us! To all the anti-Mormons, athesits, and others with far too much time on their hands- get a life. Fast. Please, give us the same courtesy that we afford you, and allow us to worship as we please. I spent the better part of two years wading through the morass of anti-Mormon material, thinking there was something I was missing. Guess what? There's not. Most of it is half truths, misquotes, and downright lies, and the rest can easily be explained by reliable sources. So please, save your venom of the uninformed, and leave the rest of us to enjoy this awesome app.

highlighters need improvement. I use the highlighters a lot the colors you’ve provided need to be changed or give the user a way to change the color. Problem is with the words being printed in black and all the dark colors you’re giving for other options you can’t read the verses. This is most annoying especially when you have other options for the users. The ability to zoom in to out to read the scripture verses better needs to be added or a way to enlarge the text so it’s easier to read for us Senior Citizens who struggle to read fine print.

Annoying. So this app was showing for free but when I went to install it, it ended up charging me $24 I’m annoyed that it didn’t show that before installing

Highlighters. Highlighters don’t work! Basically inoperable. Is frustrating! This app has not been updated in over 8 years! That’s goofy!

Can not use the app. It does not open on my iPad, I tried and tried and it kicks me out all the time. What can I do? I love the app but now I am unable to access it. Please help!

It always crashes. I can’t use it at all. When I tap on any scripture it immediately crashes. I used it last week and it was fine. Now I can’t use it all. New Testament crashes. Book of Mormon crashes. That’s the only reason for the one star. Great resource.

ADD SAMOAN. Can you add Samoan to the Languages? I been using this app for 3 years now, and I haven’t seen any additions or updates since.

App doesn’t open. After downloading and then pushing on the icon, the app does not open. My device is an iPhone SE (2020).

Best scripture free app. This app is great I don't get looks for carrying my bible everywhere with me because now I could just be looking at my phone while I'm on the bus or in class. Plus it he that book of Mormon on it and I could read it without anyone knowing. I don't see anything wrong with that book. All through it's pages it tells of jesus Christ born of the virgin Mary and how he and only he will save us from our sins by suffering for our sake. Same as the bible! Just different group of people writting it down as directed by God, just like the bible. Any way there are lots of apps that will give you the scriptures but you will never beat this one when it's free. Besides there should me a mission to provide all the other features free with it if you think that they are so necisary. This is the best free scripture app out there!

Annoying!!. I hope you guys are can fix this VERY ANNOYING problem! When you are going to highlight and you accidentally hit share instead of highlight and it takes you to a screen to either email twitter or Facebook and at bottom says to cancel, when you cancel, THAT screen should disappear and take you back to the scriptures you were reading but it but it doesn't.. It takes you to a screen where the options are to email, twitter or Facebook and in the upper left hand corner it says cancel, you click on that and it does nothing and you have to go out of the scripture app and go back in to start over reading the scriptures and you better remember where you left off because it takes you back to the page that has Old Testament, New Testament, B of M etc. PLEASE fix this annoying problem with the highlighter annoyance! Thank you:)

Great!. I really love having the scriptures on my IPod. It's so easy to read a chapter or two at lunch and of course it is at a great price! :) I would like to make a request that someone more technologically savy than me create an AP of the LDS Childrens Hymn book that has both audio, both with piano and singing and without others singing, and sheet music. I am a primary teacher and I love music in the class room, and most of the lessons have a hymn from the book that the children can learn. Just bringing a dock and being able use my IPod would be a huge plus and would make singing these song so much easier. I sure could use it and I am sure that there are plenty of primary teachers out there that could too, if they knew it was available. So please please please someone look into this! Thanks!

Comparing. Okay, I'm one of those people who paid 15 dollars for the original application, and then I downloaded this one to compare. This one isn't half bad, and fact it's fairly user friendly. Also it was made with good intentions. That's why I gave it 5 stars. Differences between the free scriptures app, and the paid scriptures app 1.paid is more user friendly, and allows zooming an verse jumping 2. Paid has a host of other resources like teachings if the prophet Joseph Smith, and for the strength of youth, and general conference, and the constitution. 3. The downside Is that it's 15$, but if you think about how much you pay for the paper ones(40ish) then it makes sense. In conclusion ( LOL) both apps are great, but the paid one is better.

No audio recording of scripture! Disappointing!. I was hoping this included audio recordings. Sadly, it doesn't seem to be the case.

Better than the paid-for versions. Even though I have one of the $15 versions of the standard works installed on my iPhone, I keep this one around because it's so much faster and easier to use and read. In retrospect, this free app is better than the paid ones. I do wish it included a couple of additional sources (latest general conference, or the basic manuals for gospel doctrine or RS/Priesthood), I would rather have the speed, stability, and simplicity of this app than all the glitz and glitter of the fancier ones. If you're new to the iPhone or iPod Touch, this is the version of the scriptures you want. Don't waste your money on the other ones.

Cannot open this app anymore. I like the app for easy access to the scriptures but now it won’t open anything. I have tried reloading but every time I try to open anything it sends me back to my Home Screen.

What happened to my notes?. I used this app a few years ago and loved many things about it. I started using the LDS Library more, but kept this app because I had entered many notes and highlights that I wanted to keep. Today I tried to look at my notes and I do not see them. I hardly recognize the app. Have I lost everything I put in? I cannot find customer support for the app either? Has anyone else lost notes and highlights?

Great app, but needs one thing refined.. I like this app and the fact that it's free,but there needs to be a way to be able to navigate within a book from chapter to chapter or from text to text (ie. From Moroni ch. 10 to Luke ch. 2), instead of having to exit out of the current book to the main menu and select the scripture you want from there. Using the navigation reels is great, but expand that feature a little. Also, isn't it interesting that those who claim to be TRUE Christians seem to be the only ones that act so UN-Christlike and put down the Mormons. I wonder why Mormons don't publicly single out other religeons and put them down? Must have something to do with Mormons being actual Christians. Hmmm...

Great App. I'm quite impressed with this application. It is simple yet functional, just like an iphone application should be. There are some things that it could improve on, like the ability to change text color, size and type or make it a bit more responsive. But these critisizms are washed away for me when you use the search function of this program. Absolutely wonderful. To be able to search the scriptures is very important and this application does it in a very easy-to-use and functional way. Normally, I would have given this application a 4 star rating, but decided that I'd better try to help combat the eventual tide of anti-mormon sentiment standard for many public LDS resources. A note on that: Please review the application based on the application itself! No one cares if you don't like what you read, this is not a book review blog or the like. Is the application easy to use, functional, do what it's meant to do in the way it should do it. Review the application, not the scriptures. I could care less whether you insult the Book of Mormon, it doesn't change its truth.

An excellent resource. I was in a Priesthood meeting when the Bishop all of the sudden asked that I give the scripture to open the meeting with. I didn't have my scriptures, but DID have the iPhone app. I knew a scripture that I wanted to share, but couldn't think of where it was. All I had to do was search for the word on The Scriptures app and I found it in no time. This app is also great, because I have kids and not only have to carry them around, but all of their things. Adding my regular scriptures gets heavy. Thanks to this app, it adds no weight at all! One suggestion, would be to have the ability to highlight certain verses as favorites, and even type notes or impressions about the scripture. The one thing I miss is not having my regular scriptures because of my notes or highlights. Regardless, this app is awesome. From one software developer to another... thank you for making this app free. I know you are bugged with suggestions all the time. This app rules, keep up the great work!

Highlighting. I love being able to read the scriptures in two languages at the same time but would like to be able to highlight in both languages. I would also like to be able to set a language other than English or Spanish as my default language. Would rate higher if I could do these things.

Please add Italian. I really like how this app works. I was hoping to use it in Italian when I bought it however. Should have checked first, however I am enjoying studying in the other languages as well.

Works great, needs 2 new features.. I've never had a problem with this app. Using 3G iTouch. Needs 2 features. 1. Have a way to set a bookmark. I want to be able to just read the scriptures and have a way to keep track of where I am. Multiple bookmarks would be even better. 2. Tabs. Or something to where I can look up multiple scriptures (cross-reference) at a time. Being able to only look up one scripture at a time is slower that just having the paper scriptures. Maybe I missed this feature? Surely this has been thought of already. *. Also, love the highlighting capability. Had to buy it. :)

Portuguese. I would rate higher once the Portuguese is updated with the new bible translation that was done by the church. It is an awesome app because of the language mixer.

New features make it usable.... I've always liked the idea of having the scriptures in a palm or iPhone but have still preferred "real" scriptures for study and lessons because it's been hard to "study" and follow scripture chains on the electronic versions. Although the ability to mark and record notes would make this app as perfect as it can be in this life, the new footnotes and quick navigation make it so much more usable as a study tool. Keep up the great work, thanks for keeping it free and I look forward to the next update.

Works Every time!!!. All it needs is the hymn book and I can leave my bag at home!!! I cannot fault this app, and for free... well Lee, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I wouldnt have been able to buy anything so you have really blessed my life ...... and got me back in the habit of scripture study!! Is there any chance of adding the hymn book pref with the sheet music but if too hard then words only)? The skys the limit... you could get all the manuals and make other apps too! Sorry for planning your life ;) The app really is that reliable!!

Only one problem. I just happened to find this app and I was so happy! It works great and have no problems with it. However the only frustration I have (and it is the same with the other apps as well) is that it doesn't remember where you are. If reading on he morning or looking up a scripture at church, would love to go right back to it after checking another reference. Maybe it's an iPhone thing? Other than that, I really appreciate someone taking the time to make this app.

A few suggestions. I would really live if you could add bookmarks and label them yourself. So you can have a bookmark that you can label "family scripture study" or " personal scripture study" and so on.

Could it be made Satnza compatible?. This is great! I was disappointed that the other available app was $15. Free is how it should be. I am disappoint though that it doesn't remember where you are (hence the only 4 star rating). The Stanza Reader App does this and its great... Could this be made compatible with that app?

Is everything you need. The is one of the most-used apps on my iPod. I find it much better to study from that the version I had on my Palm. Quick, easy to use, and free, what more could you want?

Seems Great!. This app seems great! It is fast and effective - easy to navigate. The links work well and having the option in the preferences to select a larger font size is nice for us older folks. Excellent work here. Thanks for making this possible.

Fantastic! By Ren Jin Lee. I purchaed the $15 Scriptures, but I would have to say deriving from the bottom of my heart that Lee Falin and his application is a definite work of God - he do not capitalize in the words of God and the Prophets. What attracted me to buy the $15 Scripture application is that it includes hymns, general conferences, and more references. Hopefully, Lee could do the same as I defy capitalizing in the word of God. The $15 Scripture is magnificent since of course it's the word of God and the Gospel, however the application is a bit slow to get into the chapters - but the question is, is it worth $15? Or could it go to fast offering and tighting? It's your call.

Great App. Now all we need is the hymms.

Love the updates. Love the program. Especially since the updates that included the navigation updates and the linked footnotes. Would love to see added content like hymns. Would really find it helpful to have a bookmark option so that I can use them in meetings and not lose where I am reading personally. The option to have more than one bookmark would be awesome. I recognize that there is a lot of work involved in putting this together. Would have no concerns with there being a cost for this program.

LDS Scriptures. This is a reasonably complete set of scriptures but there are other sets I like better. The good thing about this is the rapid indexing system. You can scroll quickly to what you want. The bad thing is that I'm using an iPad mini and the text is way too small for me. There does not appear to be any way to change the font sizes I can with the other scriptures I have. Another thing I miss is having a voice option reading the scriptures to me as I read them. I find it really helps having an expert read out some of the unfamiliar terms and names. I hope this is a work in progress and that the author won't stop and give up now. The rapid indexing is pretty neat.

Great job!. Very, very good Scripture app. It makes it easier to study the Scriptures on the go, eliminating the need for the not so small Quad. I would like to see the next update include Hymns, along with a bookmarking feature. Otherwise, good job!

Search Scripture Header. I really like this application. I love having the scriptures with me no matter where I go. I really do wish that the header could also show the key words when you are looking for a scripture in the search mode. That way you don't have to go through every option.

Excellent. It sure is nice knowing you can have portable scriptures like these. It is hard to complain about free applications like this. However, chapter headings would be nice and a highlighting feature would make this application complete for me. Maybe one day we'll see some manuals and the hymns on here too. Suits all my needs. I totally love this app, especially with the new updates. I don't even need to use physical scriptures anymore, this app is way more handy.

Glitchy but overall good. Maybe it's just mine, but everyday it resets to D&C section 138 so I lose my place in whichever book I am reading. It is frustrating.

Well done. Better than paid apps. Sure the $$ apps have bookmarks, highlighters, and supplementary content like hymns and "Teachings" manuals, and I own a paid version for that. But they don't have combined study guides in one super easy searchable list. They dont offer the best footnote and navigation. This app's interface, navigation, and search features are the best of the bunch ... And it's free! Way to go developer(s). This is a homerun.

Needs a few things. Right now I sadly cannot give 5 stars. First of all, it needs to be able to have more than one bookmark. For example, if I want to save my place in my personal scripture reading and then be able to navigate away so I can use it for family scriptures I want to be able to go back to my bookmark. It would also be a lot better if I could highlight scriptures and write notes in them. Until that is added, I can only give 3 stars.

Great App - expecially for free... This is a great application for anyone with an iPhone looking for an electronic copy of the LDS standard works. It is very easy to navigate, the content is presented clearly, and nothing really appears lacking. I would imagine that for most people this application would suffice, but if someone needs Church (LDS) magazines, history books, manuals, etc., it might be worth paying money for one of the more comprehensive applications. Thanks to Lee Falin and everyone else behind this for bringing this app to us for free.

I may have already reviewed this but.... I have already reviewed this but it is such a fantastic app. So generous of him to provide this free. I have been looking at an alternate that has a much heftier price tag and am a little disillusioned the author even states "don't complain about the price" Why shouldn't I when someone else isn't trying to gouge money out of me. I hope that Mr. Fallin does this same app with the Scriptures in Spanish it would make my world a perfect world. I can't complain that the other reference materials aren't available because the price was right. Thanks again.

Thanks for your work. I don't know anything about developing apps for the iPhone, but I am a recent convert from Windows Mobile and I've got to say that the gold standard in LDS scripture reader applications is YanCEyWare Reader. Awesome App. This app is spectacular! Recently though the app crashed while I was reading, and it never could start up again. It would crash every time. I tried everything I could think if to get it to work again, but nothing helped. Finally I deleted it. I reinstalled it again, and now it works, but I didn't keep the highlighters. Do I have to buy them again now? Other than this and a couple other problems in the past, this app has treated me quite well for years, and is by far my favorite. I'd recommend it to anyone in need of scriptures on the go!

Awesome!. Awesome app! You can easily and quickly locate chapters and verses. Easy navigation. User-friendly interface. Love having all LDS scriptures in one app! My only suggestion: add a highlighting feature with a file that saves your highlighted verses for easy reference. I've wanted to highlight verses many times. Not having this feature does not take away from the app, but having it would magnify this app's utility!

Great. Almost perfect. With other scripture apps going for $15 it is refreshing to see someone make a free app and back up his labor of love by not even accepting donations (really-his site directs you to give to the perpetual education fund instead). Overall a very solid app. It would be improved by adding highlighting, an autoscroll feature, and the hymns, but for the price this sure beats the mobipocket scriptures I used to have on my old pocket pc.

I've been waiting for this! Goodbye scriptures on Blackberry!. I love being able to have my scriptures on my iPod Touch for free. I've used mobipocket on my Blackberrry (and Treo before that) but this application does everything that I need it to do. I don't need to take copious notes or make elaborate bookmarks on my iPod. I just want to be able to read when I don't have my hard copy scriptures handy (like on the train in the morning or on vacation). Thank you!

Fewer features, but better developed than the ones which cost $. I've used the paid scripture apps and can tell you that while this one may have fewer features (no bookmarks, hymns, highligting, etc), the features it does have are superior to the paid apps. The footnotes/cross-referencing feature is way better than others I've seen. The UI is well designed and intuitive. Updates have been infrequent, but typically add new features which are always well thought out. In short, I'll take a free app over a $15 app any day. Especially when the free app offers feature quality over feature quantity.

Great App!. Mormon bashing? Really? Now that's original. Dated and disrespectful, but I'm sure you that do it already know that and continue on in spite of the bad form it is. Give it a rest already and find some peace of mind... Additional functionality (already mentioned in other comments) would be great, especially if things like cross referencing could open in some sort of pop up window, but I don't know enough about developing to know if they're possible or how much work it would take. For something offered for free, I'm not complaining. Thanks for putting the work into this for our benefit!

Just about perfect.. Tabs (at least 5) would be nice so that it will remember where everybody is reading. One for personal reading, one for my 8 yr old who discovered he was good at scripture reading, one for family reading, gospel doctrine, etc. You get the point. My second suggestion is "next" and "previous" options at the beginning and end of each page, rather than having to go back to select which chapter you want to read next.

Fairly good, could be better. I have noticed a few bugs when using this software. One very annoying bug is that rotating it can make the screen jump to the top of the chapter. Also, a lack of chapter descriptions found in the printed scriptures is a little bit of a surprise. Also, the fact that the program doesn't save where you are in the chapter is a little irritating. Also, the scroll bar seems to go under the toolbar. A minor error that could probably be fixed with a little bit of coding.

Awesome App!! Just fix one thing.... This really is a great app. It is very useful. However, when you are reading... the numbers are the same size as the letters. It's hard to tell apart where one verse ends and another begins. You should either make it bolder or put a space in between each verse. Or something along the lines of that. Other than that this is an incredible app. I really like the night mode. Looking forward to an update!!! Keep up the great work!!!!! =)

One of the best apps. I was looking for this apps for a while. I kept on finding the one you have to pay for. But this one is great. I use it so much. They are great for seminary. I world highly recommend this apps. It's well worth the free price. Oh people if you could, please try to keep your nasty commits to your self because it's not needed. If you are someone that is getting this apps for a joke and leaving nasty commits get a life. Because some of those things that were left were wrong and is not needed. Thanks. Oh by the way this apps gets a 5 out of 5. It's nice to know that you can read these books any time you want.

Great Application!! Thank you!. This is a great application. I use it all the time every day. It is really easy to use, you can go from one set of scriptures to another and from one scripture to another without any problem. Best of all, it's free and this makes it possible to try it and use it wihout any money commitment keeping to the scripture that says "Come unto me all ye ends of the earth, buy milk and honey, without money and without price..." Thank you.

Really good needs marking option.. This app Is great. I use it for Reading my scriptures every night and enjoy being able to have a small a mobile set if scriptures in my pocket. The only problem with this app is that it doesn't have a marking option to mark verses. If this feature came out in a later update, I think that the popularity Of this app would increase dramatically.

Excellent App!!!. First of all, it's free and absolutely a necessary download. My hat's off to Lee Falin for this service. The search function is fast and gives footnote references. True, the app doesn't allow you to mark the scriptures yet, but it's great anyway. I hope it develops this in the future along with bookmarking capabilities. Also, if you could get some of the other manuals as was mentioned in another review, it would be the best.

a few feature requests. I'm a software developer too, and think it's awesome that you're offering this for free. Way to go! A few feature requests though: 1) add chapter headers (as is found in physical scriptures), 2) leave a few blank lines at the end of each chapter (currently the end of each chapter is covered by the bottom bar), and 3) save the last location the user navigated to so that when the app is opened again, that location is opened up by default. Just a thought though. Great app!

AMAZING!! A seminary students dream!. This application is amazing and FREE!! Which I think is wonderful and, being the word of God, a wonderful service. I'm a seminary student and put this to good use every morning and evening, for me it's the most useful app I have. Great app. This is the best scripture app I've come across, especially considering the price, or lack thereof...the app is fast, stable, and very easy to use. Clean, simple interface is a definite plus, and the search function is generally quite fast and accurate-much more so, I feel, than the one on the church's website. I'd even be willing to pay a buck or two to get the ability to mark scriptures/have bookmarks, though this app suits my needs without it...

ALMOST Perfect!. Thank you, thank you, Lee Falin for this wonderful application. It is very gracious of you and your team to provide this free of charge. So many times I have found myself without my scriptures and wanted to spend a few minutes in them. Now I have them with me all the time. My only suggestion would be to have tabs available so the user can switch back and forth between multiple references.

Now the best!. I've been using this app for a while, thinking about buying one with more features. However, the recent update has added on so much that this is now the superior app! And it's free! Thanks to lee for malin this available and knowing thatscriptures should be free! I have used paid apps of his kind as they have the same content but a horrible ui. This one has a great UI and I love it! I do however miss landscape mode.

Excellent. It's great that someone was willing to take the time to put all the standard works into one app, and then offer it for free. The verse navigator and search features are also great, and often come in handy. I use this app at least 3 times a day, and am very satisfied with it. The only way it could be made better is if it had the option highlight verses and create your own cross-references in addition to the already included footnote links (future update?).

Hi. I think this is really good, lately I haven't being reading my scriptures much but this helps me to remind to read them and I do, but what I like the most it's the fact that if I'm feeling bad or sad I can pull out my scriptures and read them and feel so much better Thank you so much for this app .by the way I would please like to ask to the anti- religion,Mormon, scriptures keep your comments to yourself I'm sure people have better things to do than listening to you.. A solid base with room to grow. There's one thing that makes this app worthwhile even in isolation: it does what it's supposed to without costing a penny. It's hard to beat free, but Lee Falin's scripture reader goes a step beyond with an excellent integrated reference section. I left off one star because the program lacks bookmarking features (as of my writing this, the app description says it doesn't do marking "yet," so I'm crossing my fingers). If you're just looking for something to take you anywhere in the standard works really fast, look no further; Falin created a winner and is giving it away for free.

Great app with tons of potential. Thank you for this great app. It does precisely what it needs to without all the fluff. The search function rocks! I know version 1.0.2 is in review in the app store. The new version addresses all the bugs that I noticed. I am hoping for some 'enhancements' in the next big revision. Things like: accelorometer support, Zoom and pan, highlighting scriptures, notes support, Ensign and other church literature support, donate button Understanding that Bro Falin is providing this at no cost to us I would be perfectly happy if the app just stayed as it is but I know programmers and there is always something on the horizon for them. Look forward to seeing what it brings.

Bravo! Tyndale Would Be Delighted. William Tyndale, martyred for printing the Bible in English, would be exultant at this. I appreciate reading the scriptures in bed with the lights off and in great comfort. I've read the inspired Book of Mormon through in two months time and shall continue to use that text to help "cleanse the inner vessel," intent on qualifying for the day the Lord expects the Gentiles as well as the house of Israel to obtain faith as the brother of Jared and then have all the revelations unfolded to view (Ether 4) and hence get out from underneath the "condemnation---the scourge and judgement" that Ezra Taft Benson testified we have "felt" and of which we yet suffer. Thanks Lee for making this freely available and such a great product.

Brilliant!. This is the best ever! The missionaries came over and when I pulled this out they were like.... "Woah!!!! Can I use it!?". Lol it was amazing. I live having it so easily available and the application works smoothly. I agree that being able to mark scriptures with different colors would be spectacular. And hymns would be awesome but I don't know if there are copyright issues with that but one can hope! Thanx! ;] This is wonderful!

Great app. I bought one of the $15 apps for the content and that's what I use in church so I don't have to lug a suitcase full of books every week, but I absolutely love the interface on this app and it's what I use for my daily scripture study. It would be great to hilight (in multiple styles and colors even), but it's free and the fact that it's the most pleasurable to use more than makes up for any shortcomings in the bells and whistles department.

Used to be the best; now it's driving me crazy. When I had the itouch, I loved this app. It was fantasitc and I even had bought into the highlighting addition. However, the minute I moved over to the iphone 3s it suddenly doesn't bookmark me. I close out the app and it brings me back to the main page. I loved when it used to automatically remember what chapter I was on. I'm now using another lds scripture app, I hate to, but I need the app to remember what chapter I am on. It's so weird, why did it suddenly stop remember where I was at? I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling, and it still doesn't remember. What's worse is now it doesn't remember I bought the highlighers. Sad day, I used to ADORE this app :(

Strong Start. Very good start. There are obviously some things that users want to see (i.e. markable scriptures, bookmarks, Sunday School manuals, PH/RS manuals, sizable fonts, Ensign articles/conference talks, etc). I really like the search feature. The results are organized beautifully. This feature would make it difficult for anyone not familiar with LDS scripture to find inconsistencies between the Bible and other Holy Scripture revealed by God through prophets of the latter day. Especially since He doesn't change, so prophets today only make sense! Good work! Looking forward to updates.

Great App. This is an excellant app, it has the ability to read without the internet. The design of it is well made. Overall it's free, the Word of God should ALWAYS be free as for those apps who need the money. I have a request though, can you add the ability to change the font size? I recommended it to someone who doesn't have a good eyesight to be able to see small fonts, he needs larger fonts. Thanks.

Good Start. Look Forward To Upgrade. Was about to download the other one for church today, but free is better and we will try it out to see if we like it. Right off the bat noticed the text is a little small, hoping that will improve or can be customized. Search feature would be nice to put in scripture reference and have it come up (i.e. 1 Nephi 3:6). Would also like to see the hymns on here if possible.

No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing.... It's always interesting to see the slander against the Church, with which it has no argument to stand on . Then again Satan doesn't want people to join the True Church and partake of the fulness of the Gospel! Regardless we know that no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing...and that the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly and independent... The Church is true despite what some who profess to be Christian argue vehemently! The Church will continue to grow until it fills the whole Earth. All those who fight against the Truth only help to make the Church stronger and people to investigate, so to those of you who have and will fight this great work we say thank you for you know not that your slander only furthers this great cause! This app will only help to strengthen the testimonies of members and may lead others to the Gospel truth. The Church is true!

It's simple, easy to use, intuitive and makes reading my scriptures so much easier no matter where I'm at. It has fast become my favorite and most often used app. Kudos to the programers and designers on a top notch job.... Would LOVE to see the hymns and other manuals available in an update. Keep up the great job!!!

Keeps crashing!!!. I bought the highlighters and they didn't work. I got the update and now they work, but now the app keeps crashing. I deleted the app and redownloaded it (it would send me out of the App Store when I searched for the scriptures, but I was finally able to get them by searching for lds scriptures) and it was working for a few hours and now it just crashes every time I try to get into them. Also, the tool that allows you to see the scriptures that I have highlighted doesn't work. All this is happening during general conference when I keep trying to search for scriptures referenced in talks! I used to love this app but I am very frustrated and I will give the app a better rating once these glitches are fixed.

I'd give it 5 stars with a small change. This is a good app and certainly very handy. However, it needs one little improvement to make it flawless. It needs to to be capable of searching the scriptures by book, chapter and verse all at once. For example, one should be able to type in the search bar John 1:4 and that would you straight to it. It's not very practical having to go to the book, then the "author", then the chapter, and then scroll it down to the verse you want, especially when there are 40+ verses on one chapter. Like I said, this little enhancement would definitely make this app absolutely perfect.

Great product. For many years I used a Palm product called Mark My Scriptures and was very pleased with it. Some of the features that I really enjoyed were: 1) A way to quickly move from one volume of scripture to another; 2) Its powerful search feature e.g. Find Next, Find Prev, 3) Being able to quickly move to selected chapters and verses, 4) Different font sizes, 5) Using different colors to highlight text. Some of those feature would be much appreciated and I'm sure that you can knock them out in your 'spare time'. Thanks again. Thanks again for a great FREE app which I would be willing to pay for.

Great app at a great price. This app is well-done. It allows me to access the scriptures quickly and without internet connectivity. I'm excited for the upcoming updates as well. There are some things that I would like added to the app (footnotes, cross-references, Priesthood/Relief Society manual, etc.) but for the price, it's as full-featured as you can expect. I've already used this at church and no longer have to carry other scriptures with me, which frees up arms to carry kids. The search feature works well too.

Great until latest update.. Great until it tried to get all fancy on us. I pull it open on Sunday to read out of John in Sunday School to find the new opening image lag on me for 30 seconds, then completely exit out. When I re-opened, I can access the headers of every chapter in the standard works, but that is all that appears. The actual text of every book is missing. Not sure what the deal is, and given this is free I shouldn't complain much - but I don't know how a once-great app just randomly stops serving its sole purpose.

Great!. I use this app frequently in seminary and church! It makes the scriptures portable, and it's free! Despite the Fact that it lacks some features that are included in other applications, the fact that it costs nothing makes it completely worthwhile to download. It'd be nice of there was more content, like hymns, manuals, and lesson guides. And the ability to highlight would be an excellent addition to an already excellent program!

I believe in Christ!. I am so grateful for the restored Gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!!! I am so glad our leaders have taught me to love and appreciate religions of every kind because that makes me a better person and a better tutor for those from other countries and backgrounds. I am so grateful that Christ is my redeemer. I love this app because I love having the Bible, Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrine & Covenants with me at all times. The scriptures are a wonderful influence in my life. The gospel is the reason why I have a happy family, a wonderful husband, and the strength to conquer all trials! I am so glad I am a Christian! A service or evangelizing? (Where's the Tao? The Koran? The Bhagavad Gita? Dianetics?). It's not just the equal placement of Mormon doctrine with Hebraic/Christianity's New and Old Testaments but the use of the definite article "The" that should at the very least put the reader on notice that the "gospel truth" often depends on who's proclaiming it. It's understandable that those who normally pound the pavement and come to our doors with their "message" would welcome a more efficient means of delivery, such as an iPhone app, but this is at best a limited, arbitrary and misleading representation of "The" scriptures (unless you believe that Joseph Smith's importance equals Jehovah's and Jesus's--and that Mohammed's doesn't even count).

There. If you want to have LDS scriptures and you have Wi-Fi I'd get my gospal library. If you type in the search bar LDS scriptures it'll come up. It's totally free, it gives you the option of what you want to download. It gives you scripture markers for free, you can write notes into them to help you study. You can get seminary manuals for free, all the LDS magazines too. If you want to have better scriptures for the same price I'd get this other one. You also can make multiple bookmarks if your reading with your family and by yourself you can set multiple bookmarks.

Great app!. It's a wonderful application! For free! I like the update that added chapter headings and cross-references. Ability to add bookmarks (to hold my places in personal reading and family reading) would be a great addition. Plus, a "confirm" button that appears after pushing the "HOME" button would also be useful. Too many times I've pushed HOME by mistake and lost my place. I would recommend this app to anyone!

Great app!!!. Great app, easy to find and read any scripture! Best of all it's completely free!!! Recomended for anyone who just wants to carry all the scriptures w/ out lugging them around. Who needs to by a quad set when this is easier and faster?!?! Would be nice to be able to highlight stuff, but no complaints. Thanks for making it free!!!!! Dies what it says on the tin. I suppose I could list all of the reasons I love this app, but I think if you read the creator's description then you'll know what to expect. It works exactly as described. Now, since the support website has only a placeholder website, a few recommendations for future versions. 1. Landscape support in every part of the app, not just while reading. 2. In addition to the features listed as coming in the description I would also love to be able to make notes, and if possible access those notes from both this app an the notes app. Other than that I feel like this app is just about perfect and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in reading the LDS scriptures on their iPhone/iPod Touch.

To mactunes.... News flash to those who say they want a different translation... Lee Falin in the description of the product says "King James Version". Let's not make the already amazing guy work harder than he already is! He said it is the king James version and that's what he has so don't discredit this app for something he hasn't and won't put on. If you want another bible translation, then find another app that says it will get another translation to the bible in an update. Problem solved since the LDS community uses ONLY the King James Version and no other version.
