The Score: The Ultimate Sports App. If I had to pick a place to get all of my sports news and scores from every League with every team then it’d be The Score. Score is quick it’s fast and I’ve only ever had a few problems before. Sure the chatting feature is cool but it’s mostly filled with trolls who change sides to whoever’s winning in a game. I’m fine with it, I don’t use the chat feature nor do I think I’d need to. Another problem is the video playing feature. I mean you can’t rewind or fast forward? To me it seems really dumb that something so simple is on just about every app/site with a video feature. I’m sure The Score has more problems to deal with and don’t particularly care about a small little annoyance but it really is an annoyance that I think should be fixed. Now let’s get to the best part. The Score is amazing. It has play by play, drive by drive, stat by stat, score by score counters that work perfectly. If I’m watching the game on my TV and I miss something I can just go to the score and see what I missed. Plus it has quick updates on important moments on the news section and curates my content that I like. It’s also easy to learn and works for statsheads like me. Thanks The Score!

Love this app. Have a couple suggestions.. This app almost single-handedly got me into sports during quarantine. It has a really simple interface that makes it easy to find everything. Now that I have experience with it, I have a couple suggestions. 1. There’s a bug where your favorites (mainly players) get rearranged at the top of the favorites tab sometimes. I don’t know why it happens but that would be a good issue to fix. 2. Bring back triple-double and double-double leaderboards for the NBA. Triple-doubles have become really common and it’s a very popular stat category. Double-doubles are good as well for measuring how productive centers/forwards are. They are both very cool stats that I want to see return. 3. Add a feature that allows you to view stat leaderboards and standings from past seasons (in any sport). I know that this app doesn’t go back to 2001 or anything, but it would still be nice to, for example, look at the passing yards leaderboard from the 2018 NFL season or check how many wins the Warriors had 3 years ago. I could imagine that being fun.

Would be better but. The overall app is one of if not the best sports apps however they devs really really…REALLY hate when people speak about sports or speak their mind about sports. Most of the articles people are unable to comment on and their censorship is very rigid and more strict than your dad after five whiskeys and a call from his boss telling him to come in on Sunday. Its gotten to the point where you have to have the jargon of a PG rated Disney Princess in order for you to comment anywhere on this app…god forbid you use PG-13 acceptable language. They truly despise free speech and public discord and are big proponents of putting people in a box and telling them what they can and cannot say. Truly would be the best app if they didn’t treat the people like toddlers and allowed for more public discord and freer speech…they are the authoritarian fascist dictators of sports apps world.

Long Time Satisfied User. UPDATE: I would like to see game schedule and stats for NBA Summer League play for future updates. Right now there are occasional highlight which I appreciate as well. I would like to see a player’s year (fresh, soph, jr, sr) in the info section in future updates. I’ve been using theScore for a very long time...since I had a Blackberry. Still using it as my #1 source for detailed, accurate and up to date sports news on my iPhone. I really appreciate the emergence of more data and news for leagues and tournaments that take place all over the world over my years as a long term user. WCUP, NCAA basketball and football & WNBA specifically! One day I think it would be cool to see The Big 3, The Basketball Tournament , Nike EYBL and possibly other well known summer basketball leagues in America as a “league” to follow on the app.

Great app, too many alerts. It’s the best app for live scores and schedules for every league, all in one place. My only complaint is that if you turn on breaking news alerts, it gives you too many alerts. I have alerts set up for my favorite baseball player, so I get an alert for breaking news and an alert when he hits a home run. So every single time he hits a homer, I get an instant alert (perfect). Then a few hours later, I get an unwanted alert that is basically a paragraph saying so-and-so hit a home run in today’s game. Yeah, I already know. This is not breaking news. Then sometimes I even get a third alert the next day with a recap that basically just restates that he hit a home run yesterday. But if I turn off breaking news, then I don’t get an alert if he’s hurt or scratched from the lineup. These recaps are not “breaking news.” There should be a separate category from breaking news if you want alerts for a recap of an athlete’s good performance.

Seriously guys? What happened??. I should give 1 star but I’m giving 2 because of the history of greatness this app so long served. But for some confounding reason starting like a year ago the in-app browser used for the news articles has gotten buggy to the point of being unusable. And even the in-house articles from TheScore writers now inexplicably open up in the in-app browser when they used not to. The in-app browser is so awful that when I open an article I realized I have to try read really really fast because after something like 15 seconds the page is gonna reload and start me over again at the top of the page. Why? Go F yourself that’s why. I keep expecting this to get fixed in an update but there’s been a ton of updates and nobody is addressing this alpha-level bug that has no business being in such a popular app on the App Store. If they are lazy at least just send the user into safari when they open an article if you can’t figure out how to get the NFL sites to properly render in the in-app browser — I often have to do this manually just to read an article by clicking share article then send via text message, copy the url included in the message, and move over to safari. It’s ridiculous. Please developers before the next update where the 2022 olympics gets its own new section, fix the news feeds in the nfl section! I’ll change my review when that happens.

One of my go-to sports apps. TheScore has always been one of my favorite apps - easy to navigate, reliable and manages to cover all of the sports I follow fairly well. Comparing to the other sports apps on my phone: ESPN pushes you to watch and keep up with their content vs what you are actually interested in. TheAthletic has some great writing at the league level, but coverage of smaller market teams is lacking - and the UI is a nightmare to navigate. That’s why TheScore is typically my go to for sports. Two opportunities for improvement: support the new iOS widgets - no other sports app offer this and it would be a game changer. And please offer a paid, ad-free tier. I think many other would be willing to pay for a better UI experience.

Bring back the way it used to be. I use this app for following games and keeping updated on things going on in the world of professional athletics. I continue to do so even though it’s going downhill. I may have to seek out another way to do it since it’s frustrating the direction you guys are going. I’m not trying to be rude but it’s just my honest opinion. The news portion is still nice but the live gameplay makes no sense to me why it’s been changed. The play by play is not good. You can’t even see who did what. “Rush completed to the 30 yard line”? What? Why no names? It’s slow as well. Please try to get back to the way it used to be. I also wouldn’t mind an explanation as to why it was changed to this way. Thank you.

App is good till you look at the news. So if you are not familiar with the app they have a news section and on that news section, they let users comment on the stories unless they deem it ”sensitive content” and disable comments. Look I have no issue with that at all. My issue is that when people try to put through their point of views or just voice displeasure on the issue a lot of the times theScore will actually delete your comment even when you say not 1 thing bad about the person, organization, or writer. I had one today where they will constantly post about Antonio Brown and it would be the littlest things that do not require a new story because all they do is add a couple of lines from another post and then post it as a whole new story. I simply commented about it and that maybe people would like to see other stories and boom not even 2 minutes from posting it was taken down. Do not waste your time with this company or app because they are not supportive of their viewers wants or beliefs.

The guys who run this app are not sports fans. It sure is a pretty site. My preferred site is Yahoo because the designers of the app understand the importance of batting averages for baseball and passer ratings for football. In The Score app, batting averages and passer ratings are in the Stats all right but one has to scroll past the right edge of the screen to see them. No sports fan appreciates having to go the extra step. These statistics quickly summarize the essence of the player and should be visible close to the front of the line. Viewers then can evaluate the game performance statistics with those numbers in mind. The Score is a great radio station but I think the broadcasters who love sports would agree with me about The Score app’s deficiency.

Would be 5 stars. This app is absolutely fantastic I have almost no issues. It runs smoothly, the chat function is fantastic and it’s very helpful in betting on sports. The one major issue I’ve had though is I was muted in the chat for providing correct score updates. I contacted support and they were extremely quick at responding they let me know that this was due to it being considered spam. In my opinion the point of the chat should be to provide updates to what is happening in the game. But I respected the decision until I read their chat guidelines and it makes no mention that this is a form of spam. I think they either need to update their guidelines or allow people to give score updates in the chat.

Great app (missing only one feature for it to be better for me). I truly love using this app. I use it every day to check who is playing in my favorite sports, when, and at what time. I always return to see results, and there lies my issue. Since I read left-to-right, I currently need to read which teams are playing, the final score, and go back to see which team is associated with that higher score. The only improvement to the app that I would ask for is to indicate by color, bold font, or a character on the left of a team name, which team has won the contest. It’s a small thing, I know, but useful for quickly knowing results. Keep up the good work!

Great Sports App (with some glitches). This is by far the best sports app I’ve used when it comes to live scores, live odds, and overall user interface. I certainly prefer it to the ESPN app, which I had previously used and had several issues with. My only problem with this app is a glitch that occurs when arranging favorites. No matter how many times I try to arrange my favorite teams/leagues/players in a particular order, they always end up rearranging themselves randomly, and it’s a tedious process to put the back into place. If this were a rare occurrence, that would be one thing, but it happens almost every time I open the app. Not sure if that’s happened for anyone else, but it’s definitely an annoying hiccup for what it otherwise a fantastic sports app.

Replaced Yahoo Sports with this after 10+ years. I used Yahoo Sports since back when it was called Sportacular, and it was always my go-to sports app. ESPN’s app has always been a semi-functional, ad-filled disaster, and unfortunately Yahoo decided to “improve” their app, by which they apparently meant “totally ruin it” (seriously, go look at reviews from the past couple months on their app). So that brought me to theScore, which performs admirably at providing one simple app that shows me the sports scores I want in one place. The customization options work well, and there’s a good variety of sports to choose from (including many European soccer leagues, which was important to me). All in all, a very good sports app. In many ways it reminds me of the good apps of old - simple, user-friendly, does what it’s supposed to do with no fuss - exactly what I was looking for.

Download CNN, MSNBC or Foxnews instead!. For a long time the score remained politically neutral and just did sports. Times have changed. You would think that a no name start up, that has managed to wrestle away a large swath of users from ESPN, would understand that it was less about how good theScore was and more of a referendum on ESPN. America doesn’t watch sports to get another dose of politics. American media makes sure we are well aware Trumps tweets and Biden’s gaffes. I will be deleting this app now, not because of its features or usability, but because it has become just another conduit for people to editorialize some version of some story and remind me I shouldn’t try and interpret the world as I see it. They must know they are being controlled as the “remove comments” for any opinions piece they write, which has become a majority of their articles. In conclusion if you would like to get a solid dose of political animus with your football or basketball scores then this is the app for you!

Great app without the ads. I love the app for all the scores and it's very quick thanks the the lack of ads compared to say ESPN. Occasionally there are ads to watch something on tv but it's quick. The only thing I would change is the type of notifications you can opt to receive. I like to get notifications for the the teams I follow. I mostly want the scores after a game is over. However, this forces me to get any news notification about this team as well. I'd love to have a scores only notification and when a team is on its off season or something I could opt into the news notifications. It can can become a blast of notifications that can just blow up my phone sometimes. That's the only annoying not. Everything else is great.

By far the best and most comprehensive. Love the app! All the scores right at your fingertips. Best design of any sports app. I’ve stopped using others completely. 2 major improvement opportunities 1) when you click on a matchup that’s yet to start, there is no tab for player stats. Instead I have to go to each individual team and swipe to the roster. It would be great if the player stats tab is available pre-game with season averages and switched to live game stats when the game starts. 2) the Apple Watch version is very limited. Only shows teams I follow but would love to see all the scores similar to the scores tab on the phone app. Still though..best sports app by far! Updating review to add another improvement: when looking at an NFL team roster the players are not sorted by depth chart. Kind of confusing looking at it the way it’s currently sorted Adding more to this although none of these have been implemented. It would be nice to add the referee names to the game info

Communist Monitoring. According to this app, constantly promoting a gambling addiction on sports apps is fine but critiquing poor journalism is a bannable offense. What a load of hypocrisy!! So you mean to tell me, all the ways you're promoting gambling addictions is less offensive than people talking trash on a sports app…? Be honest, have any of you been to a sporting event? They’re not made for sensitive people, and the trash talk is supposed to be in fun nature, monitoring comments sections requires a substantial amount of ego to believe that you know what someone you’ve never met, should, and shouldn’t be saying…but that part bothers you enough to ban someone from commenting ever again, meanwhile you’re working hard to create the gambling addicts of the future even invested some capital in that market…. You sound ridiculous, your community policies are a joke, and you’re hypocritical for believing that cleaning up the trash talk in sports while PROMOTING GAMBLING ADDICTIONS in sports is the right way to go. Apparently being a ‘potty mouth’ is worse than being a gambling addict. Get a grip, you’re completely out of touch with reality, monetizing as much as possible at the cost of ruining people’s lives but I’m glad you stopped Kenny from using the B-word 😒😒😒😒😒😒 GFY

The New and Improved American Dream. Last spring, I heard the greatness news in my life since the birth of my children. I heard “the Supreme Court has just overturned the illegality of sports betting in America. It’s now legal for states to legalize sports betting everywhere instead of just Vegas and Atlantic City”. At that precise moment, TheScore became my most important application on my phone besides the news apps. Without this app, I would not be on my quest to becoming a professional sports bettor. It’s up to date betting info has become so important to a bettor, I can’t see not having this app and not making a profit in the business. The chat section has brought interactivity to fans and professionals alike. The only thing missing from this app is the game numbers assigned by Vegas. I see this app becoming an instrument for betting in the near future as well based on jurisdictions. Even though it’s an informational data generator, it too will be huge to novices that want to dabble... I love you The Score. We will be together forever...

Notifications. I’ve used the app for the last 7+ years, it’s been the best and way better than espn. Best at stats, news, etc. From the most recent update 2 weeks ago notifications have started giving bare bones info. To the point where they are clearly driving you to click on the notification because they just give the tiniest bit of info wanting you to go into the app. Today for example “Jimmy G suspended 2 games” and that was it. Why was he suspended? You have to click to get that info. It used to provide subject then a sentence or 2 about it, giving you a good idea of the news piece. Would click if I wanted to read more. The score gets the benefit of driving engagement but I think I’ll look elsewhere if this is the direction you are moving. I get it your a business at the end of the day. Happy to be wrong but I looked at all my settings and couldn’t find a way to fix this issue.

Fix the notifications. With the latest update, they changed the way notifications are. Instead of actually giving users the full information, they now give a short sentence that’s almost clickbait-y to get people to open the app and I assume look at advertisements. They’ve done this before, and it’s always been horrible. Just give us the information that we need. Just a few minutes ago I got a notification saying “Glasnow injured”, and without giving any specifics, so I’m incentivized to open the app and read the story. I’m just going to Google it instead and get the headline and information elsewhere instead. Please change it back because I don’t need anymore useless notifications and I don’t want to delete the app after all these years but I will if I have to.

Widget Issues *fixed*. Edit: After receiving a response from the developer I was able to reset my device and get back the widget I love. Rating changed to 5 stars to reflect overall quality of the app as well as developer communication. You guys just released the “new and improved” widget but it’s worse. For example, with MLB games you could see not only the score and the inning but also runners on base and how many outs, as well as upcoming games for your favorite teams. This was all within the widget so you could just swipe right for a quick view without having to actually open the app. Now all you get is the score and the inning. Nothing else. Please fix this! I want more info about my favorite teams in the widget, not less! I’ve used this app for a long time and it’s still a great app overall, but the widget is terrible now.

Great app; Some suggestions. This is now my new favorite sports app after deleting ESPN due to bias throughout the entire network. This app has almost everything & I only have a few complaints or suggestions to add. One suggestions would be the add the score for each team when looking at the “plays” tab. Without this it is very unclear what is happening. It would also be nice to see stats such as “biggest lead” be used as well as “lead changes” & “ties”. Top performers should also be organized by categories & critiqued a little bit. There was one game I looked at for the stats that was final & the top performer had 2 points. Another feature that would be entertaining for many is the ability to pick games throughout major sports to see who most people think will win. One last thing to add is the ability to have an ad free version. The ads are terrible but would definitely look & feel better without them. Overall great app.

Must have app!!. I’m a pretty big sports fanatic. I make pretty decent earnings from sports so I’m always researching information. The score app is one of my most frequently visited app. I love how it’s put together. Being able to scroll through news articles and highlights are amazing. But there is a reason why I only gave it 4 stars. First reason, I wish there was a section for an athlete’s career stats. In my opinion that is critical information. Reason number two, there is an option to favorite individual athlete’s and is a game changer, BUT there is not an option to do this with Tennis player’s. I feel sorry for the people that didn’t watch Serena Williams last match. One of the best athlete’s to ever do it!!

Please limit the characters, enable slow mode in chat!. Some people unfortunately abuse the chat within each game because they manipulate one character and type enter multiple times in a row to no end, which makes the chat completely unusable. I’ve already emailed about this three times within the last year so I guess I’m leaving a review. Honestly besides checking the score and showing updates on an app, the live chat alone makes this app worth using because it’s fun to trash talk opponents and their fans and honestly grow some what of a community. Sadly though, TheScore doesn’t seem to care enough to fix something so simple for app developers. All that needs to be done is limit the characters that can be typed within the chat, limit the speed at which someone can send messages, and also do not allow repeated lines without characters. Force the limitation of consecutive space characters if possible. Please fix this and this app gets my 5 stars. The app has room for improvement, and I’d love to be a beta tester if possible and test the app for you guys. I would be a solid contributor since I use your app already everyday and want to help improve it. I don’t want to see it get ram sacked by some new app that “does it all” and starts to get recommendations over theScore. I’ve stuck around because no one has recommended any other app to me (YET). Either way, sorry for the long review but please fix the initial issues. Thank you!

Love the app but some glitches. UPDATE: Docked another start because the widgets do not update. The scores shown on my widgets have not updated since 10/30 ( today is 11/2). Worked fine until then. *********************** This app is great and generally has worked well for me providing the sports news I want. However there are some glitches. One, when using the app and trying to contact the developers through the Help section it asks for an email to be setup in order to use that function which I have set up an email through the app, so that's useless (which is why I'm leaving a review on the App Store). Two, the main issue I've had is using the widgets as a "stack" on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I've used the stack to add the Score widget for my favorite teams that I want to keep track of so I can scroll through the stack easily; however I've noticed that after working for a little while it always reverts to a state where some of the widgets in the stack work fine but other widgets in the same stack will revert to a blank state - the widget is still there and I can edit it, but even afyer editing it stays in the same blank state in the stack. I've had to set the stack up multiple times and it always glitches in this way. If they could just fix this issue the app would be almost perfect. However due to the issues using the widgets I will have to leave this as a 3 start review until it gets fixed.

Best Sports App on the Market.. been using various sports app for years…. deleted every single one of them including ESPN simply because nothing compares to this one. so much information about every single sport category, so many videos/media about your favorite sports, live chat feeds before/during/after games/matches/rounds. hands down the single greatest app for sports period. nothing else matters other than theScore. i use this app religiously for scores, schedules, team/player information, and heavily for sports betting on the go. on a scale of 1-10 (1 being atrocious and 10 being absolutely unbeatable) is a 10 every single time. if you love sports, are a die hard fan for your favorite team(s), or just want a new platform for anything sports… GET THIS APP. if you are a fan of any team/player/racer and don’t have this app you’re dumb.

Toxic community.. The score is the one of the best all-in-one sports stars and news app that I have used. Besides their lack of statistical coverage of some lesser-watched sports (ex. WNBA), they have managed to keep everything in one platform, where you don’t have to click a link and go to an external website. The only negative is the lack of enforcement of the community’s comment guidelines. News stories are filled with commenters bashing players for performances, injuries, etc. These types of comments are common on other platforms as well, but they’re not as overwhelming. I believe this is do to a lack of guideline enforcement, that has lead to a negative comment culture. I have to delete this app from time to time because I don’t want to see such bold negativity constantly.

New update ruined the best sports app. I've been using theScore for years and not once considered switching, but this new update is unbelievably frustrating to me and making me shop around for a new app. Its beauty was its simplicity. I used to love browsing all of the news feeds to catch up on all the major and minor stories outside my followed teams, but now the feeds are separated by sport instead of in one continuous view. The discover tab is almost unusable for me - it's mostly just a twitter feed. Why when I tap an article does it take me to a view of a twitter post where I then have to click a link to get to the article??? Scrolling horizontally through small images for (a now limited set) of the top stories is not a good mobile experience.

Worthless media player. OMG, how are there positive ratings with the worthless media player on this app. By the time you can activate the controls to make it full screen the clip is halfway over. You’d think you can just rewind it and restart it. But no, you can’t. Abysmal programming for 2019. Other apps let you hard press and view the highlight in the notification too, but no, that’s beyond there comprehension too. Don’t get it. Just go with other sports apps. It will frustrate you to no end as much as they push videos but you can’t view or control them correctly. Horrible. Edit: The developer response is worthless. It’s not an issue with the device. There is no slider to rewind the videos. Again, by the time you maximize the video on an iPhone you miss the first half the video. Which would be fine if there was a slider. But no, apparently this company didn’t hire any user interface reviewers. The only way to replay is to wait for the video to end, then replay. But the o lay way to replay is in the small window and you go through the entire process again. Seriously, this should have much worse ratings.

Ads take up screen space!!. First, I’ve been using Score for a few years now and have loved it. Best sports app out there. Unfortunately I can’t rate this 5 stars right now because in the past few updates, there must have been some changes in ownership of the app or ad deals done because it is now overrun with ads when I am trying to read news articles and they take up 80% of the screen and I can’t read the article cause the ads don’t go away once they play through. The original ads showed up in a bar along the bottom and did not take up room. They need to return to that. The app was better before advertising got pushed to the forefront of the app. Please change it back so I can rate 5 stars. I do enjoy this app overall though!

Easily my favorite sports app. I love the theScore app because its notifications/alerts are far more relevant to my interests than those of any other sports app. Its notification frequency incorporates an ideal blend of being very relevant but not being too frequent and/or abundant, which is nice because it keeps me from getting annoyed by my phone constantly going off. With that being said, I can only give it a 4 star rating out of 5 as of now because of one thing: I really just do not like how one must watch a highlight video all the way through to get back to a given point in the video, as opposed to how one can simply rewind the highlight video(s) to an exact second of any given video on apps like Twitter and Yahoo Sports, etc. If that feature could be implemented into the app, I couldn’t give it enough 5 stars rating - it would be perfect.

Finally moving on from theScore. I’ve previously reviewed the app and have always felt that the score tracking has been phenomenal compared to other apps. But I’ve also always had an issue with the news content. Sports is an escape from other things going on in most people’s lives, but far too often theScore brings politically opinionated articles into their feed. I rely on the news feed to stay on top of things going on in the sports that I wish to follow, but I do not expect to see articles that vaguely have anything to do with sports, and are instead geared towards influencing reader’s politically opinions. I cannot simply filter out these articles either as I have to scroll past them, seeing their titles which inferiorates me that this app would post such bias garbage. I’m moving on and not coming back this time. They already had a second chance from me when they stopped posting an ex-writer’s articles that were much of the same. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO THE DEVELOPER: The political bias on the app and the censoring of comments that don’t agree with that bias do not support your claim of politics and sports “naturally” intersecting. If your claim was true, we would not be subject to the writers opinions on the matter, rather just be presented with what occurred (which I would be fine with by the way). Unfortunately, the writers give their opinions and portray different viewpoints negatively.

Great Fantasy Football Analysis. I’ve only been playing FF for a few years and discovered The Score and Justin Boone late last season. I appreciate how he gets right to it, synthesizes a lot of information, works hard on podcasts and provides tons of free content that is timely and thorough. I also want to note how helpful his advice was in preparation for the draft. Not just who might be good— but approaches and philosophies when assembling a fantasy team. He is articulate and intelligent in his presentation and clearly works his tail off. He also comes across as a very nice, authentic person. I listen to a bunch of podcasts each week, this is one of my can’t miss ones.

Arguably the best sports app for someone new into sports.. So I recently just got into following the NBA and NFL and wanted a good app to track teams and leagues and this app is easily the best app for that. This app pretty much gives me everything I want from scores to game times to news about teams and leagues. On top of that it is very snappy and fast. It gives score updates very quickly and is extremely readable and easy to digest. Also signing up for an account is optional for most parts of this app (I don’t use any of the community features). I recommend this app for people looking to get into sports as it is very user friendly and detailed.

Mixed feelings. I love some of the push notifications and news stories. I do not love that I remove sports, like football, but when I open the app I’m inundated with Footballs news. I don’t care. I don’t want to see or support that. My “top news” feed is always polluted with sports I have no interest in and I can’t seem to be able to change it. I like being able to “favorite” certain sports and leagues. I’d also very much like to block others so I never have to see them. Updated: 1 Star. I’ve asked for all kinds of changes to make the app feel more personalized. I’ve asked to be able to remove categories or change the order. I’ve also asked to disable the pop up that happens when you screenshot something. All of my requests have been ignored or shot down by the developer(s). Now Apple has released their own app that does all the things I originally requested from this app. 1 star overall now. And I’m uninstalling and switching.

Gotten better. I hardly EVER write reviews about apps but I felt that I needed to on this one. So I’m a hardcore American Football fan. Fantasy Football / College the whole shabang. Sports apps are everything in my little corner of the world. I used the Score back in 2016 and it was ok. So I bounced between ESPN, Athletic, Yahoo Sports, CBS Sports, and the cluttered Bleacher Report. All of them can’t hold a cup of water to the Score. The Score’s UI is so much smoother and informative than all the others. Anything from news, breaking news notifications, scores it’s just overall better than the others! If your trying to find a good sports app with the perfect balance between usability, information, and overall smoothness then the Score is your McCoy!!!!

What happened to the Mute button?. Update. I did get a response from the developers but why is the mute button so hidden now? Bring it back to the iwatch. I used to get a scoring notification on my watch and I could dismiss it and keep getting updates or I could mute it and it would stop for that game. So when just my watch is with me I cannot mute and I keep getting notifications before they happen on the delayed telecast. Please bring back! Went from one of my favorite apps to most frustrating. Hey can you bring back the mute button? I get scoring notifications 20 seconds before I get to see it due to TV delay. Really annoying that I cannot mute when I’m actually watching the game. Please add it back. Thanks, Dan.

Horrible app that actively allows and promotes hate speech. Got this app back before the chat and betting features were available. Decent articles and reliable live game reporting have been the only thing keeping me around. However, after the betting and chat features have been added this app has become a place where you’ll learn slurs you didn’t even know existed. 95% of all chats and comments on articles or games are people either complaining about losing money to bets or people saying the most horrifying things about people of colour, the lgbtqia+ community, and women in general. The “moderation” team doesn’t even care. You’ll report comments calling for death threats and they’ll stay up forever, but if you respond with any fruity language calling out these degenerates your comment is immediately removed. This app is not only a safe haven for the degenerates of society it actively promotes death threats, harassment, and hate speech on every aspect of their platform.

A couple of updates I’d like to see. The Score is still my favorite sports app, but I feel that it is falling behind in a couple of regards. One is the ability to pay for an ad-free option. Particularly with soccer apps, an ad-free option is standard for a small annual fee. It would be nice if the Score could offer something similar - the ads are not only annoying, but cause the app to become a battery hog at times, limiting the amount of time I spend on the app. Secondly, the app struggles to render external links. Apps like Yahoo Sports, One Football, etc. have gotten a lot better about featuring content from external sites but rendered cleanly in-app rather than forcing you to go to the external site itself. But even when they do force to go outside the app, those pages load much more quickly and clearly than they do inside the Score (and avoid the big intrusive black bar at the top of the screen that the Score always seems to have). Twitter videos also embed much more cleanly in their articles than they do on the Score. It’s getting to the point where I ignore the “favorites” section altogether, because it is predominantly populated with external links.

Unbelievable. The most important weekend in the NFL and your app decides to not update any scores from any sports. Seriously guys? Terrible time to have a glitch. You would think the developers would ensure that the app is working for wildcard weekend for God’s sake. I appreciate the quick response from you guys, I have enjoyed thescore for a couple of years now. Each update seemed to create more and more glitches along with making the more user friendly which was a mistake on thescore’s part. You should have left well enough alone. Gabby I was working this weekend and having a sports app that is accurate and can updates your when it should is paramount. I would think that the developers and engineers would have tested the system especially because of this important football weekend we are having. After this last glitch today it was the final straw for me. I downloaded the ESPN app and surprisingly it has way more features than your app and is significantly less in megabytes. How is that possible? An app that does more than your app and is more than 50% less in megabytes? It also links into my cable provider so i can watch games outside the house. I had a nice run with you all and enjoyed your app, but glitching on wildcard weekend is absolutely unacceptable. Good luck to you in the future!!!

Great app, needs some tweaks. This is a great sports app, love the scores, news and updates plus they even have the Canadian Football League, I’m a big fan! Having said that, the in-game portions of the app could use some work. For football games, ESPN and CBS Sports show the field and player pictures and arrows to see exactly what’s happening and the most recent play. TheScore’s “field” is far less like a real football field. For baseball, competitor apps show the batter, where pitches were located and where the ball was hit. TheScore doesn’t do those things. Hockey, should show an ice surface to see where shots and goals come from. Additionally, the dark theme on theScore app is ok, but you should have an option for a light theme. Lastly, when you click on a particular player, it should show their career stats, not just the stats from this game and this season. I like to see a player’s full career numbers. Also, maybe remove the Chat section from games. It often becomes mean-spirited with fans going too far with verbal taunts and I just don’t enjoy it. I don’t like reading that sort of thing. In my opinion if all those changes were made, this app would be FLAWLESS. Thanks Wade

Best sports app. IMO it’s the best sports app. I switched away from ESPN at least 5 years ago now. There is one thing that bothers me a bit though. Instead of saying “England Soccer, Italy Soccer, and Spain Soccer’” use “English Soccer, Italian Soccer, and Spanish Soccer” so that it is proper English. If you don’t want to do that, then just change it to EPL, Serie A, and La Liga! One more thing... please create a separate league for the Championship (England’s Second Tier), Serie B, (Italy’s second tier) and Spain’s second tier (called Segunda División). I know that you can slide to change to the championship in the “England League,” but having it as it’s own league would be great! This is very important to follow due to the promotion and relegation of European Soccer and if you have a team to follow. Thanks!

Too many useless notifications. I’ll start by saying this is the best sports app I can find for news and scores. The problem is, I find myself drowning in “breaking news” notifications such as “this week in footy” and “vote for the best performance of the week!”. There should be an option to separate the ACTUAL breaking news from the fluff articles that happen to mention the team or league you want to follow. EDIT: the developer response was helpful, but this option is not available to all leagues and teams. There is no option to turn off social, video, and features for English Football, Champions League, or English football teams (such as Liverpool) - and these leagues are the worst of the bunch in this regard. Please standardize this ability to filter news notifications and this will become 5 stars and hands down the best sports app ever! EDIT 2: been months and no change on this front. Getting tireless push notifications for things like ‘wacky transfers gone wrong!!!!!’ Not sure how the ability to filter breaking news from the rest of the drivel hasn’t been standardized across all leagues / teams. Downgraded review to one star due to this frustrating oversight.

My fav sports app. For years, I used the big names like the espn or cbs sports apps, but once I found the Score about 7 yrs ago, I’ve been using it exclusively since then. I like the interface and look of the app a lot, and there’s a lot of good stories that are very timely, especially breaking news - The Score alerts me faster than other apps. Tracking your fav teams and players is super easy. In the latest update, it has gotten a little clumsier to find things like the standings.. it takes (sometimes a lot ) more clicking than it used to if you’re further into the app. I also really liked a previous update better as it included more detail on scoring plays, like where on the field/court/rink scoring plays were made, and where on the baseball diamond a HR went, etc. But I don’t have many complaints. This is really 4.5 stars but I can’t give a half a star… it would easily be 5 stars if those features came back.

Pit-i-ful!. What in the world are you doing to this app! I’ve used it for years and now you demand that I sign over my privacy by allowing unfettered access to my phone and how I use various other services or I can’t use the app anymore? No thanks! I’d rather pay for another app than allow this! This is sports, no one’s gonna force me to violate my own right to privacy over an app that’s based upon a bunch of over paid spoiled athletes… this is where I draw the line. I encourage everyone to dump this app so other developers stop doing this! —————————- Now I can’t even delete this app because the actual ICON hides on your phone after you delete it. This may be related to using the widget and not deleting it first. I tried going back and deleting the widget but then the app was still there. So I reinstalled the app, deleted the widget, deleted the app, and the app is still on my phone. How do I know that? Because it still shows up under “system” and in the App Store it says “update” not “download!” Buyer beware… this new privacy thing they’re trying to implement is not a good thing at all! Something very strange and distasteful is happening ti this app that I really hate!

Go to sports app but why the changes?. This has been my go to sports app for a long time. I like the set up for the most part and it’s pretty up to date with some good features, but there are some features that have been taken away and I’m wondering why. I frequently look at stats of a player (mainly nba and nfl) or of a team, and turned my phone to landscape to enable the feature to see all the stats easily across the screen. It also use to show the stats for the entire year of that player at the top (I.e. shots made/shots attempted, among other stats) and you took it away? A while back you also took away the ability to compare player stats. And there have been another unique features that set you apart from other sports apps that you’ve removed. Hoping these things come back. And if users have been complaining about those features then maybe include the ability to turn them on or off in settings?

Enough Already. This has been my go-to sports app since it came out. I’ve enjoyed the improvements the developers have made throughout the years. However... how long does it take before someone fixes the scroll issue on the iPad Pro? I’m not sure if it’s happening on other devices (doesn’t happen on my iPhone X), but it keeps cutting off the top of a lot of pages (team and player pages) and I’m forced to “pull” the screen down just to see the top (as if I were trying to refresh the page), then of course as soon as I let it go, it scrolls right back up like it would normally do if the screen was adjusted properly. It’s not an iOS 13 issue, as it’s been happening since 12. You’ve cranked out about ten fixes since this has started, but not one that addresses this. Each time I see a new update I think, “this is it”. Nope.

Great app, would pay to remove ads. Overall, theScore is the best sports tracking app out there beating all the big name guys who make bloated, non-intuitive apps. I love the notifications that theScore sends out for my favorite sports and teams, I’m always up to date with the latest info. I also appreciate the little enhancements like the ability to quickly see the last time all the matched teams in the the NFL playoffs last played each other and the scores. All the stats are readily available and the app is well thought out. The ads aren’t overly intrusive, but I would certainly pay a one-time fee to remove them all.

Overall good, but attention to detail slipping. I have used this app for many years. I enjoy it overall. I get that there may be lesser staffing or simply that priorities have shifted. However, there’s some issues they have become recent issues that are disappointing: 1) With respect to NFL and NBA teams and player profiles, details such as draft positions are no longer updated or included. 2) The quality of articles has gone down. I’ve read multiple articles with spelling mistakes, confusing grammar, and other issues that make the published content lacking. 3) Specifically with the NFL, the graphics for who has made or missed the playoffs have not been updated all season. There are teams that have clinched for a couple weeks, that according to this app, have actually not clinched a playoff spot. 4) Links within articles are frequently broken. They will lead to back to the article or to an external website, instead of to the article which was previously published within the app. Player mentions often lead to nowhere. Otherwise, I still believe this is a solid app and I appreciate what the staff at TheScore do. It is not an easy job. I only leave this comment in hope of the app improving for the better.

Increased ads are deteriorating great app. A fantastic app, particularly for those outside of Canada. However recently the video ads that pop up every two minutes is very frustrating. Please amend as you'll lose a lot more subscribers.

Good program. Very good program. A few minor issues, it crashes a fair bit and can be pretty slow. Also I don't like the new stats layout for the NBA players. Minor stuff though, I still use it all the time.

Great app but sharing platform needs work. This is a fantastic app that I use everyday for checking NBA scores and news. However, sharing info from the app with friends is slightly annoying because it is not linked up with Facebook Messenger. Other than that, great app, definitely recommend it to anyone interested in sports news, stats and scores.

Good but needs afl and rugby. This app is good but it nneeeeeeds 2 have afl, nrl, and rugby union. Tennis would also be good but not as important. A-league is also very important I'll probably delete this app and giv it bad review if my requests r not met

Best sports app!!!. I live in Australia and was finding it difficult to keep up with all the sporting events around the world... Until I found this sports app! Not only can I follow my teams especially from North America, but I also get updates when there is a close game about to end.

NBA fan. I'm an NBA fan, and it covers everything I need from stats to highlight videos of the games to keep up to date. Nrl would be cool...overall great app.

Great scoring app!!. Had score mobile for almost 2 years and couldn't be happier with it. Over the two years new features just keep coming.

Great for scores, but needs to ease off the clickbait. I don't often write app reviews, but felt compelled to provide feedback on The Score. Fundamentally it's a very good app. Lightning-fast scores, accurate data and very strong Apple Watch integration. Where it really lets itself down however is the "news" push notifications and the team's editorial judgment as to what's newsworthy (which is not as much as they think)... I want to be kept up to date with KEY sports information such as injuries, schedule changes, player transactions etc. What I don't want is "Could this team of free agents beat the Browns? 🤔" or "Watch this amazing goal 👀" - which is not only annoying click bait, but is also superfluous given the primary reason I have this app is for the AW integration. No guys, I'm not going to watch that video or read this listicle on my wrist. I just want a simple buzz when my team's ace gets hurt or when the league MVP is traded. I reached out to provide this feedback directly and the team was quick to acknowledge but also said they could not (or had no plans to) segment news which was disappointing. I appreciate content generating entities need clicks and views to sustain them, but surely not at the cost of alienating other users? Why not allow greater personal control and customisation as to what content the end user is served? I'm more than happy to amend/update this rating if the situation changes in future, however it's disappointing that I've ultimately disabled most of the news functions because there's no way to toggle actual news and what I would categorise as clickbait. Otherwise, it's the best sports score product I've seen for the Apple Watch.

Best sports app going. This is easily the most comprehensive sports app in the iTunes Store. It has a crazy amount of sports and not just American sports. Many of my friends have converted to this app from the sports apps they were using previously

Best NHL Sports App. Best app with detailed game and player information. Player info can be improved by showing past years stats. Other than that, 3 thumbs up.

One of the best!. One of the best sports apps ever, gives you choice of results of most US sports plus European soccer, Motorsport & tennis. Can pick favourite teams & players to get quick, fast access to results. Can also add fixtures to calendar so you don't miss when your fab teams play.

Empty black lines. When loading up a new day for scores, those empty black lines still an issue!!! Very disappointed thats its still not fixed. Moving to another app. Fed up of sending emails and screenshots. Plus shallow coverage for ncaa div 2 games.

5 star app. I reckon that there should be 1 live game from each sporting category per week. It will be that much better

Great app but no sound on videos. Really like this app, it give me all the stats I need from basketball to NFL to soccer and I use it everyday. Only issue is I don't get volume when watching videos within the app, and I have had this issue since I got the app a while ago.

Poor developers. All the games are on different days since I Am not in an American Timezone. After contacting developers several times, no fix has been reached

Great all-around Sports App. Title says all, reliable and well-designed app to keep track of most sports in a rather detailed way. Only improvement I’d like is a shot chart for NBA games’ players. Right now we only get box score stats live, but it would add so much value to have a shot chart like SofaScore does, to see where players are taking the shots during the game.

Really good app. A very good app to keep yourself updated with things going on, in the sports world. Its fast, accurate, configurable and simple. It stands far superior to all other similar apps I'd used before.

App is wonderful but with so much spam. The app has been awesome all this while. Not sure with the last updates there is ridiculous amounts of spam pop ups like old school internet explorer back in the day. I am happy with getting ads but not every 10 seconds to the point can't read the article. Would love for them to clean this or offer an ad free version.

I have some recommendations. Please add the ability to follow ATP and WTA tennis players. Also, whilst scrolling through my feed I find that a number of stories/player profiles appear twice, so please fix this bug.

Its more than what I asked for!. I don't often review apps, but I had to with this one. The amount of times I've downloaded sports scores apps only to delete them the same is absolutely ridiculous. I could never find the complete app. Some might have lots of sports, but the app looks atrocious. Some vice versa. I've used theScore on such a regular basis, it's so in depth and I'm finding new things about it every time I'm on the app. Download and see for yourself, you might as well try - it's free. Just a heads up for the devs, I wouldn't mind to pay for an version without ads. It's an app that's totally worth it. Thanks heaps

Few issues. Had some alerts come through backwards on an NHL game that had finished hours before. Ad at the bottom is annoying. But otherwise solid app.

Best sports app on the market. Easy to use and customise.. Great interface which let's you customise for your teams and has all the info you need. The live feed during games is amazing, integrating twitter reactions seamlessly.

Good app, except if you've got older tech. This is a great app with wide ranging sports and a very good way of showing stats. My only gripe is that it crashes 1/3 of the time, usually on the loading screen. But then again, I'm using an 8Gb iPod touch, 2nd gen.

Scores All Around. A really good app for keeping up with popular American, English and Global sports. Hopefully it will one day include some Aussie sporting events like NRL & AFL, soccer, netball, basketball and hockey to name a few. App has some great break down of the scores it does provide. Widget and Live Activity Support Please!. Adding support for customized widgets (Home and Lock Screen) and Live Activities for favourite teams (or followed games) would make this app the best available. Would love using a single sports app…right now I have to flip between two or three to get everything I need.

Score is what any sports junkie needs.. On time score updates and the full package. Keeps me up to date on the latest hockey knowledge and keeps me reading more and more. Love this app but a few things could be a bit better. Like for ufc coverage and into detail profiles. Still a 5 star in my books.

Spamming/Trolling and nothing is done. No point in reporting someone who is chatting derogatory things, racist things, and spamming/trolling. This app does nothing about reporting. Not sure how that Vargas account is still active

What happened?. Where are the full team schedules that can be added to iCal? The new layout is pretty nice, but it looks like some major features were removed in exchange.

The Score App. Love the Score App as it is my Go To App for all Sports!! Got all the scores of all the events I want and great background stories!! The only thing I would change is the “Chats” during any Sporting Event as there has to be a way to monitor it for Stupid things like inserting pictures in the conversation or saying false things. It is so bad some times I leave the App. Otherwise / great job!!

Bring the old app back. App was perfect the way it was before. The new update makes it a pain to use, no longer user friendly. Always takes more time to get where I want to go as opposed to before. Bring back the old interface now.

Could be great. The fact that people who spam the chats constantly and never get banned is insane. I know you want to have as many subs as possible but people like that ruin the whole thing and there’s no repercussions.

Download anything but this app. Terribly written stories, and toxic comment section that bans the wrong people, tsn, sportsnet even espn are better choices then this app

2.5 **^. The score app is ok. It’s a great app for sports updates and scores. But so are many others. The score lacks in keeping up to date. Why is there no way to view the knock out round bracket in the World Cup. Why is there no world juniors where it shows what teams are playing and what time and point leaders just news articles. And don’t even get me started on the terrible terrible betting app they have.

The Score. Overall this app is amazing! Everything about it they have done perfectly, FAST notifications for everything you need to see! Good job 👏🏻

Garbage app. The app won’t let you type “Trump” in the comments. What a joke of an app, censorship at its finest.

Unfair blocking!. Zero star if there’s an option. You guys blocked me for talking facts about sports & trolls and yet you let guys like “payday” “thrgozthtman” “hfry” “lebronto6” “staaaayinurlan “ “Smoogles” “tdot8mom” and the list goes on. They disrespect, swear and insult the Raptors team, Raptors fans & even the country Canada. Below the belt slanders are so toxic I can’t understand why you guys are allowing it to happen. They’re all xenophobic. Your app is subpar that you guys talk about “respectful community” but don’t have any moderator on your chat. Such a shame!

Unmanageable Alerts. I used to have alerts to inform me of all touchdowns on Sundays. Now when you try to manage NFL alerts there's nothing there. Moving to a different app

Useless in a time like this. Before the virus, our values and a lot of money were in sports. Now it shows how our values were wrong, sport players were getting the spotlight and way too much money while most of the essential workers were scraping. There’s a positive in a time like this. It puts our values straight and show how these sport players are useless. The app becomes useless now deserves a delete. Thank you for those who worked on this app. You can now perhaps move on to actually help others in better ways.

Disappointing. They removed the comment section on articles. Some people on there were hilarious and it was fun reading the arguments. Very disappointing, it was the best feature. Still functions as advertised I guess.

App Makes No Use of the Dynamic Island. Please update your app to make use of the Dynamic Island. I want to simply follow a game with the score displayed at the top inside the Dynamic Island. Stop waiting around to make this happen - just do it asap, it’s not difficult to code the feature.

Too easy to get Banned. The app itself, fantastic. Hands down the easiest app to use for scores. HOWEVER, this app gets 1 star from me! I’ve been banned NUMEROUS times for making comments in live chats with ZERO profanity or racial slurs etc. Yet, I constantly get banned. Which I find hilarious because all I see is racial slurs and profanity literally every second I’m on the app! Would rate 0 if I could, it’s a sports app.... when did people get so soft? Do you watch sports? I’m sure you’ve heard worse watching love tv. TheScore = Dumpster fire

Chat. My review keeps getting removed because I speak the truth?!? Your chat section on each and every Leafs game is nothing but toxic hate. And you allow this to happen because reporting anyone does nothing and you do nothing about it or them. Anti Leafs app most definitely!

best sports app, but there’s one problem. this is easily the best sports app available on the app store, and it’s not close. the game updates are quick, and everything is smooth and easily accessible. however there is one huge problem, and that is the chat feature. this app is filled with some of the most delusional and straight up embarrassing users that flood the chats with the most outrageous things. i don’t let the constant negativity and toxicity get to me, but i think the app is SO MUCH BETTER without the chat feature. it’s sad reading what garbage everyone has to say in the chat rooms, it really makes sports fans look terrible. my advice is to please get rid of the chat feature and never even consider adding it back. the people that use it are disgraceful.

Good app, BUT…. App is perfect for any sports fan. Pretty straightforward. BUT, the widgets need some MAJOR work. If there are multiple widgets on my screen with different teams, sometimes they’ll just switch to teams I didn’t set, by itself. On top of that, they are VERY slow at updating. Sometimes a game will be over and the score and time remaining from almost an hour ago is still up.

Still a ways to go. This app has so much potential but is still has a ways to go. As far as usability and convenience go, I have a few issues. First, it’s easy enough to accept a friend request but good luck trying to clean up your friend list. I see no option to delete inactive friends, only a mute or report abuse option. Also, I mute all users who display racist or extreme juvenile behaviour. When viewing the list of those I’ve muted I can not scroll through the list. It doesn’t move. The live game chats are atrocious (there should be a moderator or something) and reporting users does nothing. It is definitely not an environment for impressionable youth. This needs to be addressed.

Poor chat feature. No moderators to remove spamming. Cannot scroll to review previous messages as chat resets to latest after every post.

Battery Drain. Serious battery drain on iPhone 11 Pro from the latest update. Won’t stop running in the background unless force quit, and phone gets hot within seconds of on screen usage. Never had these problems before.

Harassment. I use to love this app I used it for years but right when the betting stuff came in it just became awful. I can’t even comment on a game or whatever with out getting threatened by random people and it’s every time I comment so if you wanna be bullied or harassed down load this app

Live Activites. App is great but really needs the “live activities” feature already, would be awesome to see the score of games in the Lock Screen!

Widget for iOS 14?. Is there going to be a widget for the Home Screen coming out?

Horrible Layout. I’ve been a loyal user since 2009, and this layout is brutally bad. It’s not intuitive at all, and I can’t find what I want to find quickly.

Unable to use The Score app on iPad Mini 2 running iOS 12.5.7!!!!. Our iPad Mini 2 can only run iOS 12.5.7. After the latest restriction of iOS 15, our The Score app is rendered USELESS!!!! 😡😡😡😡 Please remove the iOS 15 restriction. Many of use still run iOS 12.5.7!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Top screen banner ads make refreshing annoying. Keep ads at the bottom of the screen. The banner ads at the top of the screen typically bug out and won’t let you pull down to refresh the screen.

Trash app. They can’t even control their own app. I keep getting added to random groups by these low life losers and when I email thescore to help me I get the same script saying their “moderators are working tirelessly to resolve the issue” Save your time and don’t download this garbage app

Frustrating Ads. I’ve been using this app for years now and I’ve loved it. It’s very easy and enjoyable to use, it is my primary source for sports news. My only complaint is that the ads on the app are so annoying. One touch immediately opens another app, whether it be the App Store or my internet browser. Not like, an isolated tap on the ad, but just while scrolling through the news stories. I can’t interact with the ads at all, intentional or otherwise without being forced to another platform. The Score is great, but that really needs fixing

Wrong dates. I have been using the app for a while now and I thinks it's perfect it lets you do many things selecting a team or a league which I love. And it also gives you the news according to the sport and teams you follow, I love it. But now I am confused I follow the UEFA champions league and for the semi- finals the have the dates mixed, when I click in the upper date (blue) that's scrolled to the side it says one date but when I click in it it says another date right above the teams the same date appears on the alert icon 🛎 it's confusing. Could you check that please.

Web Browser STINKS. These guys are the best in business when it comes to compiling content from across various sites. They hit a lot of sites that provide great content daily. I’ve used TheScore to replace that sad site Twitter. However this web browser they use it completely worthless. If you don’t scroll perfectly down the website refreshes and it jumps back to the top. Suggestion to developers: it’s being cause by your feature to swipe left and right between articles. Get rid of this dude. I’m never using it and it’s ducking up my experience. I’ve starting using chrome to read articles cause I can’t get through Sports Illustrated articles uninterrupted. Im on an iPhone 12 too.

New update hate. I’ve loved this app for several years. Specifically the alerts. With the most recent update, I now constantly have the red number alert counter for the app which never existed before. So now it just constantly shows the app has 20+ notifications. Since I have every NFL and every NBA team, I can go in and get rid of them momentarily by selecting each team but then they just come back eventually. I have to hide the app so it’s not longer an eye sore. Huge let down IMO. Would love to know how to disable this part but still receive banner alerts etc

Quality of App. I am on WIFI but I continue to get freeze frames often. The Ads are a necessary evil of free usage but they can completely block the content. Very annoying. Lastly the scores updates and stats seems to take more time then needed. I will have watched a game and those results will come instantly. But the league stats and player stats are very slow and at times not updated till the following day. I’ll still give you 4 stars for the simplicity baked into your App. Still a fan Alan

App is terrible and unreliable. This app crashes often and the news from Score is often inaccurate and very amateur. The email address I used for this app now gets a lot of spam messages. I did not use this email for other apps because I suspected Score to use my info for spam and their own benefit. Yikes I was correct and will not be using this app anymore. This app recently started a comment section. It is not monitored very well and it allows a lot of users to curse and make offensive comments. It also deletes common words. The app try’s to import news from other sources but instead pretty much turns into a twitter feed even if you try to turn this option off. Will be deleting this app because it crashes a lot, does not provide meaningful news and sends spam to my email.

Screw LeBron James. Not a bad app for sports news. Main problem is that they seem to try publishing as many stories about LeBron James as humanly possible. On a day when that bum doesn't even play, you can easily see 3-4 stories about him, and usually the first one or two. I can't stand that guy and don't want an app that seems so biased in his favor. No matter what's going on in the world of sports, they seem to tie almost any story to LeFlop somehow. He slam dunks a ball? It's the lead story. Anyone else does the same? Not even a mention. Something happens in the world of Major League Baseball or NFL football? Let's see what LeBum has to say about it. Knock off the useless LeBron stories and you'll have a much better app.

The only score app you used to need. The only reason I downloaded this app years ago was because it was the only sports app that gave you the channel of each event. Now the only thing separating this from espn is that it displays betting odds (if you bet, you probably get the odds from your “betting manager” or sportsbook). I understand the concept of paid advertising but this update is very disappointing. UPDATE: Attention to detail is usually my thing but apparently not. I didn’t notice that they moved the channel to the top right of the matchup so please ignore my initial panic. TheScore is once again my go to sports app! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Perfect. I don’t write reviews often and I really hope this is seen - I love this app. I’m a huge sports guy and this is the perfect app for keeping track of scores, stats, and start/end times for every team and league I follow. I can’t describe how much I would love for this app to make a widget, like something that displays scores and stuff, that would be incredible. Don’t know if that’s in the works for the future but if that happened I’d be so happy. Regardless, a must have app for any sports fan. Miles better than espn, bleacher report, and every other app on the market

Good platform with some glaring issues. Great user interface. A few things that stopped me from switching to this full time would be the factor that if you forget to unfavorite a game after it’s over, it stayed on your favorite list forever without a way to remove it. This get particularly annoying when you sync to an smart watch as I have to scroll down for the current games. Another detail is there is no update on the current score for NBA once you go into the play by play section. I would have to track back to keep up with the score! Would definitely consolidate all my sport tracking if these issues are fixed!

Great app for someone following a lot of sports!. I love this app! I play in a lot of fantasy football leagues( around 20 a season), and i’m obsessed with following every game to see which of the players did score a TD or caught a pass for long yards etc. I also follow many sports: soccer, basketball, tennis, football....So I also set up push notifications to get notified. I’ve tried many other apps for live updates and this app is by far the best. The visualizations are great, and the updates are really accurate within seconds of what’s happening in each game. Keep it up TheScore! Love the experience.

Built in censor is stopping EVERYTHING. The app is now out of control. I tried to post this: “NE has a great defense? They gave up 454 yards and 2 sacks to CO. That’s not a great defense”, exactly like that. HOW IS THAT OFFENSIVE AND VIOLATES COMMUNITY STANDARDS? I tried to “fix” whatever it was that was wrong with my post and now I’m told to SLOW DOWN. Your censorship is out of control and prevents legitimate posts from appearing in the chat. It’s amazing to me that my post is blocked, but openly racist and anti-gay tropes make it through on a regular basis. UPDATE to developer response: You ignored my point about my message being censored. How does my message above not meet community standards?? In what way is it offensive? If I hadn’t had been censored, I wouldn’t have tried to guess how to fix it and then I wouldn’t have been benched. You are enforcing restrictions that appear to be impossible to meet.

Awesome App. I usually do not write app reviews, but ever since I discovered this app several months ago, it’s easily been the best sports app out there vs. ESPN, CBS, Yahoo, Fox Sports whatever. I also noticed that a lot of the reviews get a developer response and just have 1 problem; every time I re-order my favorite teams and leagues list it somehow always gets rearranged into some random order and just wanted to know if there would be an update covering this bug. But like I said I’ve used every app out there, the score is easily the best. Multiple articles from many different media sources on a single feed/timeline makes for an amazing sports app experience.

Outstanding source. The Score is outstanding ,It keeps me completely updated on all the scores of every team for that day . The way it has such valuable information on every team and all daily events is one of the many reason I rely so heavily on it . Your writers are so versed and knowledgeable of everything that is happening in the sports world that I don’t need to read any other sports app attributed to the fact that they literally cover and explain everything on the topic they are discussing. I thank you and keep up the great work .

New to app. I am new to this app so maybe just haven’t found this infor yet, but I would like to see what TV channel some of the games I’m interested in are playing on. I find this infor for some events but not for all. Thanks! Thanks for your response. I do find TV listings in the locations you mentioned; however, there are no TV listings for some games that are actually being broadcast on stations I get. An example is last Friday’s Sporting KC match against Orlando. The app never showed where to watch, but I ended up running across the match on TV. Just saying it would be nice if this information was listed for all events, not just some. Thank you.

Inconsistent notifications. I always assumed I was doing something wrong because the reviews never mention this issue. I will get notifications for some teams and not for others. I checked my settings several times and even I installed the app 2-3 times. Today there was a game and never received a single notification. Great one point game and I didn’t even know it was on. Very frustrating. I immediately checked my settings and sure enough it’s set to notify me at game start, halftime, close game, final. Also, I’ll get news updates but unless I click on that notification it’s gone forever. I can’t even find the article when I search news

Innovation improving 💪. Use the app everyday since 07 have seen some minor improvements but i still think you guys are lacking behind the competition (Yahoo, ESPN, Etc) Would love to see more up to date (real time) updates, Line ups/Starting. simulation of live action during a game. Sometimes i use the app when an out of market game is on and the play by play seems a bit laggy..Old info on game details not being accurate. Just feels a little outdated when it comes to real time accurate information on games..I use this app faithfully for game time and pre game information and would love to see some more accurate and updated info being available.

More variety. In my opinion the score is 10x better than other sports apps because it gives you free access to a whole variety of videos, highlights, interviews etc. But the better part about it compared to let’s say ESPN is that you can search for a video or player highlights or team highlights and it will not just give you 1 option of videos, it gives you a whole list of upcoming lineups and anything about that player, team, coach etc. that you need.

Absolutely well done; one suggestion. I use this app year in and year out; I’m absolutely a fan. My ONLY recommendation is that there be an option to see a team or particular athlete’s (single-player sports) past record (potentially, from their debut). For team sports, previous record, stats, and roster, for examples. The point of this is to appeal to the history of a franchise or specific player for people who want to dive deeper into looking at the bigger picture and longevity! Either way, I love the app and it’s user-friendly interface!

Solid but dumb rules. Pretty cool app to get betting odds and lines. The games also refresh pretty quickly on big games but smaller games get tossed in the trash and sometimes even get stuck on time and score. That’s not why I demoted a star though. The rules are pretty dumb in the chat. You can’t give play by plays because you get banned 24h. So if you have a nice guy in chat giving you play by play, well The Score hates it. Probably in bed with a cable provider. You can also get banned 24h for using an emoji. Used one in chat by accident and was hit with a ban. Pretty stupid if you ask me. Edit; Have to say I stick with the 4 star review. Everyone on chat wants the play by play, yet the apps updates are beyond slow. At times, even 3-4 plays behind. If you truly would like to keep banning people for play by plays, then make sure your app is updating quick enough so others aren’t asking what happened. Update: was banned for 6days for simply talking about future football games. That’s it, this app is terrible for other getting LATE score updates. 1 Star. Update: Received a definitive ban for saying I want to know all the facts in the Blake case. I guess this app is ran by the Extreme left. Will be leaving over to a different app

What about other NCAAF teams?. When are you going to update your site to allow more features and alerts for teams like San Diego State University Football and other schools?? It’s sad that only select high profile teams are being recognized for alerts and I bet it’s not difficult to provide the same feature to all college teams. If you are going to offer this service to only select teams, then advertise it that way so I won’t get my hopes up that it will ever change. I like your app but going back to ESPN and disabling all theScore alerts. My response to your reply AW is unacceptable. You offer alerts for many other schools like, Miami, Wisconsin, and UCLA, but yet nobody in the Mountain West Conference. ESPN offers the same alerts for all schools, so I can only assume theScore chooses who will receive alerts. How many more years will it take to make a change?

Want the old version back. I used to love this app, was the best one in the market (in my opinion). However, after a big update a little while ago, the app just hasn’t been the same. I’m constantly having the app crash and restart, live games not updating the game details (ie. scores, times, plays, etc), in game chats completely disappearing forcing me to restart the app to try to bring it all back. Another downfall (IMO) is with the baseball portion...they used to have a spot were you could see the live pitches, bats, pitch count, batters bat record for that game, etc. now it’s all gone and feels like the app is more focused on their form of betting. It’s still an OK app, but I personally felt it was SO much better before all of this “updating” began.

Good, but Needs More Content. I’ve used the Yahoo Sports app for years, and it (along with Bleacher Report) satisfied my sports information needs. But recently, Yahoo has become lax on timely updating things like standings, and stats. So I explored switching to the Score Sports app. So far, I like Score a lot (thus, the 4 stars). One (big) area where Score is lacking (compared to Yahoo) is separate entries for domestic soccer tournaments in Western European nations, like the League Cup and the FA Cup in England. The App has schedule and score information (by the date), but nothing that allows for a broader picture of said tournaments.

NHL box scores need attention. The primary and secondary assists are often mixed up in NHL box scores. It seems to be random. This has been happening for at least the last two seasons. Any penalties that are served by another player (eg. when someone take two minor penalties at the same time so one of them is served by a teammate; or when a goalie commits a penalty) the penalty is shown as being committed by the player serving the penalty rather than the player who actually committed the infraction. The penalties are also shown in a weird order. It goes period by period, but with the earliest penalties in each period at the bottom. They should read in chronological order from top to bottom. I know these things seem insignificant, but it’s those little details that bothered me enough to stop using the app last year. I occasionally check back in because to see if these issues have been fixed so I can stop using other apps, but am disappointed every time to see that they persist. It’s the incorrect box score stats that bother me the most.

Great App, but could do with less Politics. I enjoy the app a lot! I Like the layout and it's very user friendly. My complaint is more with political meddling. When I want to read about sports I'd like to come here to read about sports not politics or coverage of Athletes political commentary. I'm not interested in what the President feelings or thoughts on how sports are played, just as much as I'm not interested in athletes politicking on the court. If I want to read about what they think politically they have social media outlets I can follow and read what they think. I remember when Sports use to be the one place I felt was safe from politics and where we could come together to get away from it. Not so much anymore.

Why can’t you get it right. I really do like this app and had it for years but what is goin on lately? Your way behind on score updates sometimes not even having the scores up till 2nd quarter of basketball to were I have to open the ESPN app which is always faster and at least a min or two ahead of THE SCORE..then sometimes you you guys put the hockey goals on the wrong team or are wrong with your play by play and for a gambling man like myself is a huge problem..the NBA play by play is unexplainable I have no idea who or how you guys get the play by play but terrible. I can go on and on like I said I really to like the app it’s pretty simple and easy I love the black background I’m not ready to give up on it yet but I’m not to far off from deleting it..I hope you are aware of all the problems can’t see how you couldn’t be but please fix these problems thank you....

Hands down best sports app I've found yet. The new update is amazing, at first it was kinda confusing not going to lie and I was very skeptical because I generally like simple and easy vs complicated and busy, but after about 2-3 days of playing with the app I found it to be possibly the best sports app I have found! It's got almost a Snapchat (the app) like story build in the discover section and I love it! The only issue I have with it is very rarely it will crash when I try to load a story but always works after I reload the app so no major complaints because I'm sure they will fix that soon. -Overall this is by far the best sports app I have yet to use

Great. Could be better.. Love this app. It would be my go-to score app if it had just one change! When viewing the weekly schedule of games for any league or team it would be nice to see them list which games are nationally televised and what station. This could be done underneath the time of the games. ESPN does this, and it makes it so much easier to plan which games I’ll be watching. Instead, we have to tap each individual game to check for tv listing info. I really hope you guys make this change! Great app.

Where did NCAA football scores by conference go????. Love tha app, but don't love lost features of new changes! This has been my go-to app for sports scores, news & reference. Further I have referred many friends. The baseball app has had a problem for over a week, in which the ability to hit on “stats” to view specific team stats is maddening. When it malfunctions it refers to showing one teams stats, but the bar at the top that allows you to toggle between teams is gone...only way to recover functionality is to do a phone restart. This is on an iPhone. Help!!

Technical issue with notifications. I'm currently experiencing some technical issues with alerts and notifications. But Over all I love the app, and the accessibility with voiceover on the app. I hope the notification issue will be resolved soon. I went into my system settings, and they're enabled. I tried to sentthe test alert, but it didn't work. That's how I know that there's an issue with notifications. Just wanted to make the devs a aware of this.. Update: The notification problem is still persisting. I've submitted a bug report on the app, and you guys did respond quickly. However the suggestion that was given didn't help.

Excellent Customer Service. Since my last review knocking the app for constantly crashing, the team at theScore reached out multiple times with suggestions and the devs released an update. I think deleting the app and reinstalling did the trick, but they also released an update which might have helped too. Regardless, I’m glad my go-to sports app isn’t crashing anymore! Thanks to everyone at theScore who are listening to us and put the work in! If I were to suggest anything, it would be to have the option to view a traditional style playoff brackets under standings.

Make score app great again. The app as of late has been constantly crashing...I honestly don’t even know what else to say besides that, I’ll be scrolling through scores, looking at schedules, player stats or doing anything on the app and it just crashes and I’m instantly at my iPhone home screen. I re open the app and get back to what I’m doing, and it’ll crash in maybe 4-5 minutes. Gotten to the point where I feel rushed using the app just so it doesn’t crash on me. I can’t just leave the app open while I’m watching a game on tv and tracking the others with the app, because guess what (you guessed it) it’ll crash. Great app, love the setup, just please fix what seems to be a bug.

Review for App, News. I’d like to hit the sport that you are looking for a particular article on and go to the news of that specific sport at least that sport first , as of now no matter what sport you want to look up it goes to headlines of the day and it is those headlines no matter sport you are looking for . II gave a 4 star review, only trying to help to get to a five . Update your standings faster after games are complete would be one more thing that would help . But overall it’s a great app and I use it more than any other daily schedules , scores , live scoring etc. thanks for the service .

Ads getting worse. I have been praying for a paid option to remove ads in this app forever, but the developer is against it. They don't want to offer their customers any option to pay for an advertisement free experience. They want to force you to read ads in their app. It used to be that the ads were not too bad, just a banner at the top or bottom of the page. But they keep adding more and more. Now they have big ads right in the middle of a page you're scrolling down. Worse yet, occasionally they now have pop up ads that take over the whole screen so you can't avoid them, and you have to tap a very hard to read Done button to go back to reading your list of articles. This completely kills the user experience. I didn't think it was possible for any sports app to be worse at ads than ESPN, but the Score has manage to do just that. It's a shame because this could be the best sports app out there, but the increasing ads make it unusable for me. If they ever offer a ad free paid option, I'll start using it again. Until then, time to switch.

Best Sports News App, Period.. I have been using this app for a while to follow my favorite teams. I've tried plenty of others, from the obscure to the mainstream like ESPN and Bleacher Report. In my experience, no other app compares to theScore. theScore has superior customization and personalization when it comes to notifications. I haven't seen another app that lets you follow a specific game, but with theScore you can go to the calendar and follow a game, getting notification updates even if you don't follow either team. Additionally, this app has more sports selections than any other. This is the end all be all of sports apps, and I will never look elsewhere. (With this said, there seems to be a bug currently that won't display my favorites properly in the home screen widget. It only happens with the Los Angeles Kings [NHL]. My other teams display fine. In my opinion this doesn't warrant losing any stars as my experience with the app is still stellar. I'm just putting this here to hopefully get some dev attention.)

No more emoji’s. I’ve been using this app for over a year now and enjoy it much more than any other sports app. It contains all the information and stats that I could ever need. However there is one thing about this app that drives me crazy. I can’t see that I am the only one that feels that the addition of emojis within the app is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. There is no reason for this. It isn’t hip or cool. It’s just annoying. When I get a notification I don’t want to see emoji’s. I wan’t sports. It’s silly. I like emoji’s. They’re fun... But they don’t belong in a sports app that wants to be taken seriously by sports fans.

The Widgets…. Y’all are killing me with the widget options. The new (2x2) score widget is super limited (why even bother?). I wonder about how this or that game is going? Okay, flip through my stack of score widgets to find each one… really? And the old Today screen widget keeps working, then not working, then working, then disappearing all together, then coming back… goodness! Why not just build a new 4x4 news widget with the same four articles as on the old widget, a 4x4 scoreboard widget similar to the old widget, and be done with it already? I know there are more use cases that some folks would want with widgets, but that would likely satisfy the majority…

Getting Too Political. In the last few weeks, I’ve deleted all of my sports apps because they were starting to post too many political stories. I don’t watch sport for politics. In fact, I watch sports to escape politics. However, we know that players are becoming more and more political and it’s because news outlets keep carrying on their one-sided message. Now, I consider myself a moderate independent Veteran, so its easy for me to figure out that the Score is slowly revealing a left leaning agenda, constantly posting up stories where athletes and coaches are bashing this country and our President. If The Score continues on this political path, I will have no choice but to delete this app and tell everyone not to download it.

Good, but too soccer-centric. This app is good for scores and common stats, but it lacks key American sports in favor of 10+ different soccer categories. World Cup coverage and World Cup qualifying are separate categories. They have omitted a FIFA human rights abuses category (should be the biggest story in soccer, but only 4000 slaves have died in Qatar, so soccer fans can let that ride for another 4 years before accepting that their sport has caused more deaths than the NFL has concussions), so maybe they do have some limits on soccer coverage. It’s harder for me to get to BigTen football than mid-level soccer leagues I’ve never heard of. Also, how about NCAAW as a category? The stats for men are great!

Love it. I’m only use the regular score app I don’t have the sport book one because I live in New York and can’t gamble and have to go all the way to Atlantic City to place a bet, why can’t I download the sports book app and use it, once you download it ask for your location and then doesn’t even let me use the app, make it so you can bet based on the location on your phone. It’s just a thought I have other than that the app is awesome it’s my go to app for every thing I want to know about any team before I make a bet thank you for the awesome app

Apple Watch Version of the app is Useless. I love this app on my iPhone 11, everything works normally. The app won’t even function on my Apple Watch. The notifications occasionally work. Then, when I go to launch the app on my watch to check other sports scores, it immediately crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME! The developers have to fix this. There’s no other app on the watch App Store that gives you updated scores for sports other than the ESPN app and I don’t want to waste the space on my iPhone for an app that I won’t use that has non user friendly controls. I’d wish that the MLB would make a deal with Apple so that each team could have there own official app like the NFL does instead of these third party apps that cover each individual team from who knows where in the United States.

Left wing propaganda. Liberal app. The score is supposed to be a sports news and results app. But instead these morons create comment sections so anyone who downloads the app can comment on an article. The majority of the comments are nothing but people bickering and fighting over absolute nonsense that has nothing to do with sports. Almost every article contains comments from brain dead liberals who believe that Joe Biden was legitimately elected, that the clot shot vaccine is God, & that Covid was real. Anyone who doesn’t follow these liberal propaganda narratives will be banned from the app and silenced. Off topic comment that follows the liberal propaganda overlords? Stays. Off comment comment challenging the liberal lies? Banned. So what happens when a story surfaces that proved their idiocy all along? Closed comments. This is basically a CNN sports app.

Not always sending alerts. I have been using this app for a very long time. It’s my go to sports scores app. Recently I have noticed that receiving alerts depending on my preferences, is a hit or miss at best. I can set the app to alert me for specific games & notice that I will never get alerts for them. It’s also messing with my favorite teams, as I stop getting alerts for them too. If I restart my phone it’s works for a short time, then stops again. I have checked all of the app settings & phone settings and they are as they should be for me to get alerts. I have even deleted the app & reinstalled to have the problem still come back. Any help?

Good, but kill the politics. I like being updated on sports and where people are going regarding teams and I think TheScore does a really good job with this. I do follow TheScore on Instagram as well, and I have two problems. This one's not a big deal and most people probably enjoy this, but as someone who doesn't play 2k, I don't care about what everyone's rated on a game I don't play. My major problem with the app is that there's too much politics. The app is clearly has a liberal bias and as a conservative I am a bit annoyed by this. I watch MSNBC occasionally and have the Fox News app for politics when I care, but that's really all. Stick with sports, it's what the app is great for.

A great thing going bad. The Score was a wonderful find for me several years ago. However, it has now degraded to the point of being annoying rather than informative. Two things would bring it back to greatness: 1.) Please stop putting up content that requires a subscription to read. If I wanted to subscribe to every sports related blog, I wouldn’t need the Score. Now I have to pay attention to where the posting comes from to determine if I can retrieve the information behind it. 2.) Require the ads to be small and quickly dismissible - these are ridiculously bad coming from newspapers and tv news outlets, to the point of covering the whole screen and not allowing the reader to dismiss for a minute or more. It is maddening to try to read the articles.

Nice except for the Apple Watch App. * Update to my previous review. Restarting my watch and forcing a few updates through got the watch app to show scores after it showed “offseason” for a day. Overall I like this app. It seems to be decently organized and there is a lot of good functionality. The interface isn’t cluttered and there are a lot of different leagues that are not in other apps. However, I got this app because I wanted to see scores on my Apple Watch and that is pretty basic. The only thing it does show is the teams you select as favorites. The previous app I used showed the favorites on one tab and all of scores from leagues you marked as favorites on other tabs.

Great app for all sports. If i could tweak one thing, I’d love to have the option on football games of only getting alerts on touchdowns after the extra point try is completed. Two reasons: 1) Right now i get two alerts for every touchdown [td & xp]; and 2) I occasionally get alerts for touchdowns that are subsequently reviewed and reversed. Having the option of only being notified after the xp would condense and simplify notifications during games and would encourage me to set more games for alerts. It’s a small gripe, and otherwise i love the app!

Fix the chats. Good idea of a app especially the chat where we can get quicker updates from people watching the game Bc there are times when the app displays wrong score or doesn’t update properly. But there are certain people who love to troll including “ivargas” who will spam super long chats to clown those who attempt to report him. These clog up the entire chat and make it impossible to see what people are saying about the game. To make matters worse, your “report” option doesn’t do anything. I can say I’ve reported him over 50 times and Ik the rest of the chat does too. The saddest thing is I’ve been Please Find his Apple ID and ban him permanently and your app will benefit immensely. Thank you.

Definitely better than bleacher report. This app is definitely better than Bleacher Report for the fact that it lets me go and add teams and edit them anytime I want to cause I’m like Bleacher Report which refuses to let me add any teams and the app gets so cluttered. The score is much better my only request is when you announce teams that are gonna be live in 15 minutes in addition to saying their odds, can you also include their current standing because that might help me so I can know where teams are ranked within their division.
