AWESOME APPLICATION!!!!. If you look around and compare all of the apps that do what this one does, this one STANDS ALONE!!! I will all of the apps were done as proper as this one - my wife and I both use it all of the time. Can't wait to see what is next!

Hard to use. Even in version 2.0 this remains a difficult app to use. All the controls are too close together and too small to activate with ease. The slider controls are very difficult to move, and the app is sluggish. There should be an option to save a default number of ways to split the check. On the iPhone, the user interface makes or breaks an app. Regrettably, this one is broken.

Great app! One simple downside.. This application is amazing. It is so useful. The only downside is the icon. I know it is not that big, which is why it still received 5 stars. Well the icon is SO dark that you can barley tell what it is on the iphone. Well considering it's only downside, I definitely recommend downloading this application.

Would not recommend to my mom.. I like the idea, not the execution. This should be easier to use than the iPhone's calculator (which can perform the same function). It's also technically not ready: sliders are sticky, you have to manually click in each box (rather than getting next/prev buttons), etc. Also, some people tip on total bill (including tax) while this app implies you should not. Since this is a highly debated point, apps like this should include a tip-on-tax toggle. Overall: not recommended.

One of my most used apps. I hate math and when I'm out that's the last thing on my mind no matter how small the bill may be. This app is great and i like the fact that it pretaxes the tip if you so choose!! Great job

great free application. I use this application quite often and it works perfectly everytime. Normally after dinner I spend about 5 minutes trying to split the check and calculate the tip, but this app does it instantly, and it's free! Thanks for a good free app

Much better out there. If you are concerned about tipping then you must not be too tight with your money -or else you wouldn't tip. ;) It is no longer free and now costs a whopping .99 but you should check out "Tip". I tried this tip app first and then "Tip". I honestly liked them about the same at first. I tried all the freebies. This app got worse with the updates. I kept it on my iPod longer than I should have. If you enter your bill totals and exit the program, it doesn't remember the data you just entered. The sliders are too small and difficult to work with. The sales tax % gets rounded off..... GONE, removed from my iPod. Glad I got Tip when it was free but it is WELL worth the .99 so check it out.

Suggestions. I like this program, but in the latest update it is impossible to tell when it is set to "Exact" and when it is set to "Rounded," and I am unable to figure out why the result is so skewed depending on which setting I am on. (Thankfully, there is an option to use the "old" version of the program, the way it was before the update.)

Update version is great!!!. Before update version was kinda whatever~ BUT the current update version is really well designed that is very helpful and practical! Strongly recommanded!

Version 3.0 Is As Good As The Paid Apps!. I got this when I first got the iPhone. Was not very good but it was free so I kept it. It got better but still not as good as the paid apps. NOW - it is right up there with the paid apps and it's still FREE! I'm glad I didn't buy one of the other tipping apps. Great job!!! Best update ever!

The new interface is excellent!. I have been using this since it first came out and it has worked well. I just got the update and the new interface has been really well done. I like it this way much better - thanks for the update!

Fractions. This does the advertised job and FREE makes it better. If there is shortfall it's that it only does round percentages. For example I'd like to tip 17.5% but have to choose between 17 or 18. That would be more valuable then being able to split the bill across 100 people. How long is the typical wait for a table for 89? Ads are not invasive in any way.

Doesn't Crash. I got this app because a friend of mine had it. I've been using it for 3 or 4 days and haven't had a problem yet. Great interface too, very easy to use. I use it to find percentages of any number, not just checks.

Easy math and life lesson. Did anyone ever figure out by moving the decimal point in the subtotal on your bill one spot to the left, and multiplying by 2 you will have 20%? AMAZING! And, if your service was terrible and you want revenge move the decimal one point left and there ya have it! Also amazing! I know there's some pennies in there to worry about but hey, that's life. You've wasted money on worse things than waitstaff... Like that time you bought that pair of jeans you had to unbutton after eating, while trying to figure out the tip.

Adware now...Move on to another tip app.. This WAS the best free tip app. Now after being free for months they throw in ads. There are too many free tip apps out there and one of the simplest apps to make. Time to move on. If you wanted to make money, improve some things and charge for it. Tip apps are relatively useless but the best thing about them is it is a fun graphical way to calculate your tips. The ads defeat the whole purpose of a cool looking tip app. I hope these reviews change your mind and revert it back to the ad-free style.

Great tip calculator. All I wanted was a free, easy to use, easy to read, tip calculator for my Iphone. That's exactly what I got with CheckPlease. I keep this app on my 1st home screen and use it everytime I'm out at a restaurant. Highly recommended.

Easy and Simple, but functional. I was looking for an app that had the least functions but still did it's job. This app let's you set the percentage, number of people, and it rounds. This is so simple and easy to use without any of the extra nonesense that I found in other apps. And it's free! What a bonus!

Problems loading and running. Had several problems getting the app loaded and running. 1) when I synced my iphone with my iMac, it did not sync the first time. tried it again and it sync'd !! 2) the CheckPlease icon on the iphone appears at 1/2 intensity as all the other apps !! my guess is that it didn't completely load !! 3) when I touched the icon on the iPhone after being installed, I get a blank screen for 1-2 seconds, then it reverts back to my home page (with all the icons) !!

Loudmouthsr. Not bad, handy little app for those who either aren't good at mental math or just don't wanna take the time to figure it out in their head rather than just whip our your iPhone and a couple clicks later there's your tip. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done for the basics - tip percentage, bill total, option to split the check and tip. Does what it's supposed to do.

Good App. Works great, can use some refining. The slider for guests is too sensitive; an input box with a default setting might work better. A second tax box might come in handy where food tax & alcohol tax are separate, or there are county & city taxes. Worth downloading!

GREAT!. Everytime I go out to eat with my parents, they always fight bout how much they are gonna leave for the tip but thanks to this app this will no longer happen. P.s. everyone here says the app doesn't work...um, it does.

DO NOT UPGRADE TO PAID VERSION!. There is a bug in the paid version that is not present in the free version. If you enter The subtotal instead of the total, the tax rate will be zeroed out. This is not a problem with the free version. I upgraded to get rid of the ads because I kept hitting them accidentally. The lines are really tiny. It turns out you can scroll through the items like subtotal, tax, tip, and total just by repeatedly tapping that section of the screen and don't have to actually tap the specific one you want. So far as I can tell, the free version calculates perfectly and is a dream to use. Very nicely done.

Does exactly what I need it to do.. The app doesn't have a calculation problem that I have encountered. I use this app every time I am out and want to quickly figure out the tip. Have had it for a while and have never had any problems.

Default tax rate not working properly. Its great to people are developing free apps, that said; Over all app is ok. I loved the fact that 2.0 version automatically subtracts tax from the total and then calculates the tip on subtotal only. Unfortunately this feature has been lost on version 3.0, furthermore, tax amount is calculated incorrectly which makes this app useless. Please fix this!

Not Accurate. I don't know what happened to this app. It worked fine and then developed a problem with its calculations. It started saying that a 15% tip for $10 is $0.87, etc.. This app wasn't even close to being accurate anymore. I deleted it as soon as I figured out that I've been stiffing people and reinstalled it. It appears to be working fine again. I will give it another try, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Update makes it fantabulous!. K So I downloaded it when I'd first came out but never really liked it. The update makes it look so awesome and easy to use! I definitely would recomend.

great app. For free, this app is awesome. I have used it multiple times and never had it crash. Scrolling bars makes choosing a tip easy. Only would suggest a rounding option. It could be placed in preference to keep the screen uncluttered. Great work though.

Works as advertised, but needs more!. I use this app often and would upgrade Instantly with $$ (up to $5) if only I could save my history for analysis! Would need: - name of establishment and server, with optional notes. - export CSV to a spreadsheet so I can work the data. Better still if one was integrated!

Better interface, but calc errors. Rounding gives the completely wrong tip amount but the correct total. Exact works fine. It's difficult to tell which option is selected because of the operation and color of the button. A nice feature would be a "clear" button. I agree with another reviewer that this interface seems to be heavily influenced, aka copied, from "Tip" by Carlos Perez -- Not cool! Shame on you!

Awesome. this is the only app where u can adjsut for everything on one page. i downloaded tip calculator for $0.99 where you have to goto different screen to make changes....this is simply the best ...i dont know what's the differece in the paid version..maybe its add free

Great!. This tip calculator is great! Very easy to use and a lot quicker than a calculator. I can't imagine any of the other tip calculators that you have to pay for being any better than this.

Love it. One of my most used apps. Elegant design! Much better looking than many paid apps. Always recommend. Never had an issue in 2 years.

3.0 finally got it right.. 2.0 worked, but was a pain to use, in all honesty. 3.0 is a total rework and is not a letdown. Nice work! Gets the job done quickly and easily. For an app like this, that's what matters. 5 stars.

Works great. I love how easy it is to enter information (bill amount, # of people, % tip, etc). Of course, being a math person, I immediately made sure it was calculating the tip correctly. I especially like all the rounding options.

Most useful tip calculator + video. I liked this the best of the free tip calculators. Even before I took advantage of 'view audio.' The simple, basic video tour showed that the app's even better than I thought. Very simple, but also comprehensive.

I really surprised by you one Star wonders.. This is a great and handy app. For those of you who say "if you cant do the math in your head..etc". I have too much to think about during the day its refreshing to not have to add yet another. I believe if the app is "crashing" its because of user error.

Almost perfect.... Unlike most of the others, this tip calculator let's you enter the tax rate. It has all the features I could ask for and it is free! The only negatives would be the advertisement bar and the buttons could be a little bigger. Otherwise, I it I'd easily the best of the free tip calculators!

No complaints. I've never had a single complaint about this app. It's quick, efficient, all around good. The latest update added in a video ad, which is annoying, but you can exit it quickly.

Well... its not really a splitter. This its not the program for those who embarrass you by always asking for separate checks. It splits the total equally by the number of people, not how much each persons total was. That's what I'd like to see.

Great app!. Probably the best tip calculator out there, even among the ones you pay for. I really like the new interface upgrade, and works great with the developer's other app, Pocket Money, which is also a really useful program for keeping track of daily expenses; simple yet powerful.

Great app very useful!. Works great but i like the graphics before the update. If anyone has doubts about how the program calculates the tip or bill, read the help section, it explains everything clearly and youll realize its works fine.

10% Tip?? Are you serious?. It's highly insulting that this app lists a 10% tip in the pop-up example when you open the app. Most servers are paid under Minimum Wage due to the fact that they receive an average of %18 tips. They are also taxed on the assumption that they are making at least 15%. On this app, 0% through 14% are utterly inappropriate. Anyone who would consider leaving such a cheap tip should not be allowed to eat out and therefore would have no use for this app.

Great Application. Works incredibly well, does everything and anything I need a tip calculator for, and it's free. I couldn't ask for anything more and the updates just get better and better.

I don’t buy the “it’s free”, so we can chew up your bandwidth attitude. Apart from touching the ads by mistake, who is going to need this LOUD BRIGHT PAP? Take a really good idea, keep adding features, re-release constantly with new features, fix bugs, re-release bug fixes, add new features etc…

Good app, perfect calculations!. I have been using this app for years with no problems. It allows you to specify a tax percentage for those that you don't pay tip on tax. If you set the tax to 0% it will calculate the tip on the total. Seeing all these "incorrect calculation" reviews just shows we need to spend more on math education.

Great app. I don't understand what people don't like. Maybe earlier versions did not work well but this one is great, My phone does not crash it just works as it should. I think people just like writing negative stuff.
