I miss old functionality. I sure do miss the old functionality removed from SoundHound. When I search a song, of course the first thing I want to know is what is it called and who is it by. Thats obviously there in every music ID app. I want to know about the song because I like it and its new to me. Next I want to know what album its from. SoundHound USED to list all the places that song was released (all the albums, etc). REALLY useful when trying to buy it. Also, I want to hear other music by that musician. SoundHound USED to show that—a nice list sorted by album. SoundHound is not fast compared to the other “well known” music id app. In fact, it has a fairly regular problem of not even being able to “hear” the music in the room for some reason. You have to reboot to fix (if that fixes it at all). It keeps asking if u are “humming”. Nope—but the music is loud in the background and the “other” app hears it. Hasnt been fixed for a LONG time and is irritating because often the clip you are scanning is over before u can try again. Live lyrics to sing along with used to be a big bonus feature only found here. Now lots do it. I guess what I’m feeling is that unfortunately SoundHound is pretty much like every other app now—just orange colored instead of blue—so why wouldnt I pick the fastest, most reliable one? Go back to being feature rich. Its why I paid for the full version originally

Not bad. It works. Most of the time it can get the current hits and well known oldies. I like a lot of non-current, non contemporary music. I like a lot of indie music. SoundHound has a difficult time with that type of music. It also has some difficulty with sound bytes of music that have been remixed. The remixes are better than the originals. Yeah, SoundHound has a hard time with the remixes. Still, not bad, better than many of the others which try to do the same thing

The best but latest version is broken.. Love SoundHound but the most recent version gives "no music heard" or "we can't find that one" errors. Delete & reinstall it and it works till you quit then stops again. But hey, all the new Apple Music banner ads run just fine (please get rid of the banners). And unless I'm missing something there's no way to turn off the super-annoying Ok Hound, which pops up at random times. This app is starting to get eroded with crappy decisions. Apple/Shazam will crush you if you don't get it sorted.

Won’t let me select and play a video. What a joke! This recent update on SoundHound won’t let me play a video with my songs under discoveries or favorites. Specifically, this recent update won’t let me select one particular song that is featured in any album or videos associated with that particular song. The old updates were much better than the latest update because you can choose what song you want to play along with other videos associated with the song you want to listen. Please, SoundHound, fix this problem and restore it to its former glory. I’ve been using this app since 2014.

Great Application!. I have had SoundHound for years. Started with the free version but quickly got the paid version. It was $4.99 and worth every penny. It may cost more nowadays, I think maybe $6.99 but it is easily worth $10. During the years I have used it, SoundHound has gotten better with updates and, it has never been buggy. I have used it to identify hundreds, perhaps thousands of songs. It has a live lyrics feature and you can access your music library from the app. I like the SoundHound playlist feature that creates a playlist on Apple Music and automatically adds songs identified by the app to the playlist. I can go on and on but I will only add that if you’re into music, at least try the free version. It limits the number of songs you can look up but you will see how well it works. I use it all the time to identify songs on the radio or on TV shows. If you get the paid version, and use it, you won be disappointed.

Used to be Great. I've been using SoundHound for over 10 years now, and it used to be my go to song recognition app. Now for the past dozen times, it has failed to recognize songs that are easily identified by Shazam (built into Siri). This used to hold premium real estate on both my Home Screen and Apple Watch complications. I never thought I would say this, but I'm finally retiring it for something that's more reliable.

Always on the mark!. I can always depend on SoundHound to identify the song I hear playing, even in some very noisy environments when I don’t think it’ll have a chance. And I LOVE the improvement they made in a recent release that loads the app much faster and let’s it start working right away so I don’t risk missing identifying the song that’s playing even if it’s near the end. Thanks!

Five star music star. If you love Music you will love SoundHound very reliable music source from all decades my go to app when I’m in the mood to listen to music thank you for all your dedication to making this app a great app for music lovers

Used to be great but now Shazam. I loved this so much I bought it but now it has become second to Shazam. Consistently doesn’t recognize songs when Shazam gets it the very first time. No matter how many times you repeat the search, it consistently fails when Shazam gets it.

Cover songs are back.... Cover songs are back and what better way to remember the words than SoundHound. As soon as I hear a redo worth while I screen shot the song first then follow the lyrics. Picking up the song can be a little faster though. I know their working on it!

Great App. Very good app. I have found lots of childhood songs with this app. Glad I found it. Only problem is it may think one song is another song. Not that annoying because it will eventually correct itself.

UI update!!!!!. Hi SoundHound Team, The UI needs and update, the orange and brown esthetic is ugly, and your music player should be more basic, just have it as a bar along the bottom of the screen. You definitely have the most powerful music recognition app but now it’s time to bring it into 2019. Also try simplifying the app overall.

Amazingly Useful Music Resource. Versatile music utility that adds so much to listening to music. Mostly I use it for identifying tunes and for the amazing scrolling realtime lyrics! But, it's ability to cross between music services and lookup and link other resources about a song or artist I'm interested makes this a go to app for me. Thanks to the developers for years of behind the scenes upgrades and improvements too! This one is worth paying for.

The Best Music App. I have been using Midomi since the app store first opened. It has progressed well over the years. It’s way better than my friends Shazam. SoundHound is accurate the majority of the time. I have music contests with my friends and this app always beats Shazam at finding remixes! And if it can't catch the remix, it shows you the original song. If you’re not on a network, or WiFi, it saves the snippet of the song & when you’re connected again, you can search the database at a later time. Love it!

Adding music. For the longest time when I would look something up it was added to my library. For some reason that does not happen any my. I checked my settings and according to the all my settings it should still add to my playlist. Just wish it still did.

Now have stop and restart the search. It used to be a 5-star app for me. I’ve been usinqyears without issue, but for about a year, opening the app and letting it auto-listen results in, well, no result. I have to stop the “listening/searching” function, wait 2-3 seconds, and then restart the listening, at which point it finds a title very quickly. But not helpful if I’m at a stoplight and in handsfree mode! Why do I have to send through the request *twice* every single time?!?

Music recognition. This app has been helpful on many occasions in finding the name of or lyrics to songs I like. However, I would like to recommend that you “teach” your software to recognize more Christian music, as that is what I primarily listen to. There is music by For King and Country & Shane and Shane and other artists that Sound Hound doesn’t know. Also, please make it easier to find the settings gear.

Always Reliable. The older I get, the more I want to remember old songs. Not because they are old, but because there is some phrase, some idea that I want to remember how it was precisely sung. This app has been my ‘go to’ when I need to hear those lyrics and tunes again or identify a new song I want to know. It’s the displayed lyrics that separates this app from others and that it’s always upgraded to keep up with competitive app’s. This one is great and very reliable. Why change?

Great app, worth being on your phone!. I have had this app since it’s almost release and loved it ever since. Also had Shazam, but liked the experience of this way more. Keep up the work!!!

Amazing. This is the only app I use when it comes to finding an unknown song. Or just a song you remember the words to but don’t know the name of the song. It’s quick and easy. A couple of taps and you’ve got the song that’s playing on the radio

Right on point. I use to always get into arguments with my family and friends about the name of a song I would know the lyrics and would assume the name would go with the lyrics. I see more today that that’s not the case. But thanks to SoundHound all I got to do is hit a few notes ( even off key) and they got me 😄

Shazam way better. Takes forever to load so by the time it is ready to listen, the song you’re trying to catch it over. Also, half the time it doesn’t even recognize the song. I was using Shazam and somehow this app downloads itself onto my phone. I had no idea where Shazam went so I thought maybe the company changed names. No idea how they did it. Not happy with app. Found Shazam moved from first page of my iPhone to last page. Switching back. Compare for yourself.

Mr. RICHARD. I started out using Shazam which is a great program but somehow I am more comfortable with this one I like the way it connects with iTunes and I have discovered a lot of news it and download it a lot because of this program. Great programI enjoy it.

Doesn’t work anymore. This used to be a great app, fast and accurate. The most recent “updates” have killed it. I can’t get it to identify anything, even well known songs. To test it, I put the phone right next to the speaker, silenced all other sounds in the room, and played Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.” After churning for 30 seconds, the app told me it had no idea what song it was (comparison: Shazam nailed it in under 2 seconds).

Better than Shazam, no contest. No clue why Shazam is so popular. Sound hound is better by far. UI is better, detection is better, etc. Not sure if the infinite app is still $2.99, but if it still is then it’s an absolute steal. Shazam requires an expensive subscription, this app is a single payment and it’s absurdly underpriced for some reason.

What’s happened. Used to be great but lately I have had to use Shazam. SoundHound just doesn’t recognize songs, volume not high enough, maybe....it’s just become unreliable. Too bad because I didn’t want to use Shazam. It’s a 50/50 sometimes too late to grab song because it takes long to open then this crap about flipping through juke box and 8 tracks....while searching isn’t cute to me. App takes to long to open. I would highly recommend try b4 u buy. I used to try SoundHound first but lately I just go straight to Shazam.

One of my most frequently used apps. It must be over 10 years now I’ve used this app. I have nothing but good things to say. It’s been a very seldom time over the years that it didn’t pull up the song I was listening too, no matter how obscure. Did you ever find yourself hearing a song in a crowded place that brought back old memories but you never really knew who played it? This app has your back. Did you hear a song on a random tv show and really like it but never heard it before but you’d like to hear it again? This app will save it. And you can go over all of those saves at any point no matter how long ago you saved them. It’s like having an ongoing source recording the music score of your life documentary.

Map feature gone?. The map feature was set this app apart from Shazam. I loved being able to pull up where I heard a song or to see what locations I visited that played great music. Sometimes it was just fun to make that connection between the place and the music you heard there. I noticed over the years that the location info was harder and harder to find like it was being phased out. Please bring this back!

One of my essential apps. I have come back to this app time after time for its simple yet uncannily amazing ability to recognize music I hear that I like. In an age of mostly useless or ridiculous apps, this one is indispensable.

What happened to landscape mode?. UPDATE (November 20, 2018): What happened to landscape mode? I don’t like using Soundhound in portrait mode at all. Especially on an iPad. Please put the feature back. I’m docking the app 1 star but will dock more if landscape mode but will consider docking more if the doesn’t rotate at a later date. (Old Review) I was hesitant at updating to the current version with all the negative reviews but I backed up my iPad 2 (iOS 5.1.1) and also kept a copy of the SoundHound version 5.0 app stored as a backup and updated the app. I can say, with a pleasure, that it still recognizes songs that are popular and those are less. There are songs that are not going to be recognized because they are not yet added to SoundHound's database. You can submit those to the support team. It's not a 100% guarantee that you're going to find out a song that's obscure.

10 years I’ve owned this app. This is the best app especially if you’re a music lover. I can get titles and artists of songs even and noisy places. This is the best money I’ve ever spent to purchase an app and own it. I bought it back when I had an iPhone3. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS APP!!!!!

Had It Since It Was Free. And I bought the paid version because it is SO WORTH IT. Shazam gets a lot of marketing, but this BLOWS everything else out of the water.

❤️ SoundHound Infinity!. 2020 Update: Love its ability to save song clips when I’m out and about and allow me to look up later. Then I can save the song/artist to my favorites list for future reference. Only one thing: it’s now in portrait-mode only; please make it in landscape mode also for iPad use! That said, best of its kind and highly recommended.

Maps Gone?. When did you guys remove the ability to show where I was when I searched for a song? I was trying to show a friend why he should spend the bucks on SoundHound over Shazam by demonstrating one of its coolest features - the map that shows where a song was “discovered” - but I couldn’t find it anymore. Why did you remove that?

Ruined. Ruined with the new update. 8.0.2 Where are the lyrics? I can’t type in what I’m looking for. Voice only? You’re forcing me to speak into my phone. What happens when you’re in a noisy environment? Or want to be respectful of a musician and lock up lyrics? What happens when you’re playing guitar and want to look up lyrics? Review Update. Thank you for the 8.1 update & returning the manual search option.

Gone downhill. I have been using this app since it was first released back in the day. I liked this over all other app because it was clean UI, fast load, fast music detection and no nonsense app. However, recently with every update it has gone sluggish and doesn’t even detect any music. I tried this app 5 times yesterday on a Billy Joel’s song (She’s Always A Woman) and all 5 times it failed to detect the song. Siri (Shaham) detected it within few seconds.

AppleWatch??. What ever happened to the AppleWatch compatibility/version?? Tend to like this app...lyrics have been a bit sketchy lately, but otherwise I’ve enjoyed it, especially being hearing impaired. If the lyrics get fixed and AppleWatch returns, I’ll be good to go.

I agree with Donald-t. The old gray mare just ain’t what she used to be. This app used to deploy instantly and now even with new equipment it’s like waiting for a snail to cross the road. A small snail and if your not sitting on top of a cell tower delivering LTE you are simply wasting your efforts by the time it deploys and stops telling you your not connected to the internet the song is gone. While using it in the wilds of the northwest where my carriers signal is still not the best it used to pull an I.D. Of something but no more I guess all developers think you have a cable connection in cell phone land and have started building for stay at home users. And the success rate has disappeared to next to nothing and it used to identify the most obscure music you could find. I have heard there are other music identification apps out there and I think I’m going to see what they are like. After many years of great music identified found and corralled with Soundhounds help I have reached the end of my patience to many backwards function losing updates and to many you are not connected to the internet messages I am gone now how do I take my history with me?

Not what it used to be. What used to be my favorite music ID app is no more. It used to open and ‘listen’ immediately but now it’s slow and rarely finds even the most popular of songs on the first try. I mean, seriously, can someone please tell me why it thinks I’m humming a song when my phone is right next to the speaker?? Every time. Maddening. Also, the ease of finding album info has been imbedded too deep. Just not what it used to be.

Lcokscreen widget disappeared?? What’s going on. I’ve had this app for a really long time, and I’ve been supporting it since the beginning, since even before Shazam even existed, and was really enjoying the future of having it available for my lock screen with a widget, but suddenly that has disappeared, and I don’t even have the option to add it… What’s going on would really like some answers and support for this problem

I no longer like this. The app lost its ability to auto share to Facebook and then in the new update you can’t select it to connect to auto share. I like using it while I’m driving and the auto share feature was so nice. I don’t like it now because you gave to click on things to post. That’s dangerous while driving. I rarely use it anymore because of this.

The best app for finding that song. Hate to say but everyone’s in a while I have a total brain fart and I can’t remember an artist or I hear a song I like it and I don’t know who it is just hit SoundHound this app works unbelievable I would recommend app to anyone!

👎. Falling short. I used to use this app all the time, when one day, I was streaming xm on my phone, heard a song I wanted to remember for later, I go to open the sound hound app and the music stops, ok, I go back to xm, hit play, go back to sound hound and the music stops again. It used to listen or scan what you were listening to and save it in your history.... and suddenly it stopped doing that. Now, I try to scan a song I’m listening to in my house (my house WiFi is 400mps) and I’m told by I have bad connection... I snap, I do a speed test of my WiFi to get 390 reading.... this app has become garbage. And in the garbage it will go ✌️

HIJACKS my TIDAL STREAM. Why did I just delete this App after using it for 10 years?? Started using this app when it was free. It was such a clean interface with no advertisements, unlike Sh.....m which had too many ads to be useful. I even paid ($9.95, I think, twice because of an iTunes/Apple ID screwup). During the last 2 years, SoundHound has deteriorated to the point I am about to uninstall it. I like Pre-Listening, because quite often (like during TV shows - E.G., “The Imposters,” there is only 15-20 seconds of music before the song is gone. I love building my Discoveries List from anywhere I hear music I might want to purchase (or now, stream from TIDAL. My current issue is that when streaming TIDAL to any of my Yamaha AV Receivers (mainly the RX-A3080) using Apple’s AirPlay, when I launch SoundHound, it immediately STOPS my stream and begins playing on my iPhone. If I launch SoundHound while streaming from TIDAL, it is because I want to check lyrics — and that is all. To stop my listening experience and shunt the sound back to my iPhone is UNACCEPTABLE. I will now start a search to find something which works like SoundHound used to work - for the user, NOT for the bean-counters!

The old gray mare she ain’t what she used to be. Well to be fair I haven’t tried this version but after I do I’ll check back and give my opinion of it I feel I’m entitled to that having been in a paid customer for years.I concur with many uses opinion you’ve taken out plenty of the features that made this app so enjoyable and turned it into a pile of junk. I never use it anymore once in a while when there’s an update try it just for old time sake, This app was so good I can almost cry at what you’ve done to it! Understand you want to keep making money and this is one way to do that but to me it’s a sellout.

Stop Taking Away My Bluetooth!!!. Sometimes we just want lyrics and that doesn’t require your app to override my Bluetooth to listen to my external phone speakers in order to figure out what song I’m listening too. So if you could give us the option to toggle between typing in our music selection or having your app listen in to what songs are floating around, that would be sublime. Seriously... I listen to gangsta rap at work and if I want lyrics without sharing my music with my quiet office, I should be allowed to!!!! Frustrating.

Quick Easy Accurate. It’s all of the above and more. Doesn’t matter where I am, I never have to wonder who is singing ... and if I want that track I can download it straight from the app‼️#WayCool

This app rocks!. They keep finding ways to make this app better. The app uploads the sound bite while it's listening. In about 20 seconds, I have the song title, artist, album, etc. SoundHound usually finds the information. And lyrics are usually provided for pop songs.

Used to be 5 star. Maybe a year or two ago I would have rated this 5 stars. I was able to play songs from my library and have live lyrics pop up. That feature appears to be completely gone which is definitely a shame

Excellent App. This is the best ! It’s better than Shazam. You don’t have to put your phone up to the music and have it playing loud. Sound Hound takes music your playing and plays in the app.

Hijacks music and disconnects Bluetooth headphones. What happened to this app?! It used to be great but since the last update it hijacks any music I’m already playing, disconnects my AirPods and starts BLARING the music out phone the speakers. Not cool. There doesn’t seem to be any setting to turn this off. Who decided on speaker blasting everyone on public transport as a feature?

Best music app ever. No matter where I am SoundHound always finds the song I'm searching for and it still blows my mind! I have time and again been introduced to great new artists that I could immediately purchase from iTunes by just pushing a button to activate SoundHound. I totally live all the features! There is no app that compares

Bluetooth. This app is useless in today’s day and age, I can’t play music through any of my Bluetooth devices, and even when it did play music through my Bluetooth devices it’s sounded like music through a potato.

It's ok.. I've been using SoundHound for YEARS now. I ended up buying the paid version I found myself using it that much! Sadly though it wasn't worth it and I chose wrong,Shazam is the way to go for music if apps..Plus it's free too

Astronomically fantastic. This app is probably the best music identifying app in the whole universe. I would personally say it is clearly better than shazam and it's encore edition. It was overall an app that has been worth every penny. New users can be rest assured that they are getting the value for their money. I'll provide a list of pros and cons to help new users determine if this app is for them. Pros: Easy to use Fast response on startup and shutdown Fast response on identifying music Fabulous interface Great overall style and design Cons: Can be a bit slow on edge connection better on 3g signal Music that are presented in another language can be a bit tricky to identify This app has provided me with great opportunity to identify songs that I want to get the title of. Thanks developers for creating such a brilliant app. Hopefully this review has given new users with a bit of an idea of what they are buying.

One of the true "Killer Apps"!. I love my music and have a large collection with well over 18,000 tracks. I converted all my 33 1/3 & 45 vinyls, cassette and open reel tapes to CD's 2-3 years ago. Although I've catalogued the tracks on each disc, I didn't record their track Nº's or playing times. I need this info now as I have started broadcasting on public FM radio. So it is a matter of printing out the track names for each album — then numbering and in turn recording its playing time. (Many of the original recordings didn't even bother to give playing times.) Most pet tracks I can identify right away, but you know the score, many albums are filled with an artist's "B sides". What are their names? SoundHound has proved astonishing. I tap the SoundHound button as the track starts, and very often, it has identified the track name, artist & album details during the instrumental intro even before the artist has started singing! Unbelievable!! Living in Australia, it even recognises a lot of Australian artists as well as rare jazz recordings from around the world. I used to use a rival program, but it's nowhere near as good. I'm sure this is a use that hasn't been mentioned yet so I hope it helps some folks, as so many people are abandoning vinyl then throwing their turntables away as I did.

Wonderful app. I tried few similar soft on various platforms, and this no doubt is the best of all. To identify a public available song is one thing, but to identify the song you sing is another much hard task. The app totally did it, even when the song I sing was in Chinese... I recommend this whole heartily.

Dirty tricks....I'm p.ssed. I had the original version of this app which is all I wanted. It stopped working so I removed it and wanted to install it again. Searched for it and found this version, with the same name and icon an advertised as v.2, I naturally figured that I would not get charged for this app as I already own it. The original version by the way has been removed from the app store making this look even more like just an upgrade of the original which should have been provided to existing users for free. Yes, I was charged, 3.99 for an app that I basically already owned, and is even ad supported!!! Con, con, con.......greedy crafty devs, and as other reviewers have said, Shazam is better so don't waste your money people!!! (I have pointed out the crooks these devs are so you have been warned)

FANTASTIC! Does the job!. what a fantasic app! you can prompt it to start recording as soon as you open the app and you can even sing to it AND you can put in sing lyrics. It also finds rare songs and also gives you the link straight to itunes to buy it, if you want. Before i bought this i was reading up on Shazam and the feedback was 90% bad! So i downloaded the free Sound Hound app first to get a feel for it and then after my first 3 free searches were used up i then purchased the full app. Nice way to make me buy it, but it worked. Worth every penny in my books!

Struggles to identify songs correctly. This app used to be the ultimate song identifying application however over the past few application updates it now is struggling to identify songs correctly it gets them wrong quite regularly the same songs which get Identified correctly on another song Identifying app! Looks like I will be uninstalling this app and purchasing the paid version of the other app.

Awesome!. I've tried several other apps that are in the same genre and this one is the best and fastest of the lot with a really uncluttered interface. The accuracy of identifying songs was astounding - I tested it with some really obscure tracks that were never hits and it had a 100% success rate. The option for the user to sing or hum a song was a novel feature, but I had very limited success in this mode. (I think that says more about my shocking singing than anything else, because my daughter had a much higher success rate in this mode than I did!!) An excellent app that is well worth having although I do think the price is a little bit high. Still, you get what you pay for I guess.

Pretty good.. SoundHound is usually pretty good at picking up a song, but occasionally refuses to identify a slower or acoustic version, and if the typed search details(especially the artist’s name)aren’t spelled correctly, it also struggles with similar options. It is usually quite reliable, though.

Was the best.. This was the best app of this kind unreliable functionality over the last few years means I'm going to start looking for alternatives (might have to check out current state of shazam which I've always to hated). Link to buy in itunes doesn't work. Tweeting functionality had been restored but tweet only links to song info with link to download soundhound instead of being able to sample audio of the track. 5 stars down to 3.

Revolutionary & still the best. I remember when Midomi first entered the music market; they were the first of their kind. It was a really ground-breaking idea, but it still needed some work and polish. But then the iPhone came out, and it all changed. Now everyone can tag tracks they hear anywhere they hear them -with 100% accuracy. Not only that, but the offline feature enables people who don't have 3G connections to capture the tune wherever they are. Furthermore, it absolutely obliterates the competition (I.e. Shazam). This is innovation at its best.

Amazing!!!!!. Downloaded the free version and tested it against tracks I hadnt heard for years..... I dont have a musical bone in my body, but SoundHound picked up the info for all 5 songs (despite some lousy humming from me). I like it so much I have purchased the full version. Simple to use 1 button and you have all the info you need to get the track from iTunes. Dont get stuck with the frustating.... What's That Song Called? Get SoundHound!

MINT 😏🤙. Excellent tool 😎🕺🏿

Fantastic. Worth every cent. If you hold it up to a speaker then most of the time it shows what it is and it is always 100% right. Doesn't work that well with singing but it does bring up 3 or more possible results. Also has album artwork and lyrics for the songs that you already own. Soundhound has replaced my iPod app. Definitely buy this one. It is a must have for every iPhone, though it would be nice if livelyrics worked in Australia...

Great app, but needs to have a save function.. This is a wonderful app. However, I would love to see the ability to SAVE what you record so that it can do a lookup later when you are connected to a wireless network instead of 3G or 2G network. Seems that currently the app doesn't work unless you are actually connected to a network. But sometimes (especially when traveling) you don't want to have to be connected to a 2G or 3G network because of coverage or cost, and you can't always connect to a wireless network in cars, taxi's or in restaurants and bars. Unfortunately some of us are still on expensive telco connections.

App was fantastic - but needs bug fix!. Have been using Soundhound for a long time and have used it every day and loved it. However, since the recent update there has been a glitch when accessing your history. It hangs with the word 'loading….' . I've seen on the internet that there are a lot of people experiencing this problem. I tried to leave a message for the app developer both in-app and on their website but the feedback form is erroring when you try to submit. Epic fail on both counts. Please fix the bug so that I can get back to loving Soundhound otherwise I'll probably delete and use another app.

Excellent. The best layout and info links and easy and quick to use. Great feature with the phone vibrating when the tune is recognized and often knows the tune with 5 secs.i've paid for a few similar apps & i agree with those who say this is by far the best. Shazam doesnt compete imo.

Doesn’t pick up the music!. Great app but lately or most of the time it hasn’t picked up any of the music I’ve tried listening to as it always comes back saying “There were no close matches. Try again. Tips: Hold your phone close to the music” Even after I’ve pressed the button to listen! It still does it even though I’ve got the music up loud or I’m in a cinema where they have the speakers up really loud and yet most of the time it still comes up with the same message all the time even though the bubbles on the listening section are big but still doesn’t pick up the music no matter how loud the music is playing! It’s been doing this for a long time now but sometimes it works and finds the songs but other times it doesn’t! Plus it doesn’t even pick up well known songs either even though I’ve got my iPhone up close to where the music is located at! I like the app but just wished it would work 100% of the time as it’s meant to work!

Brilliant! Worth the money.. Yes, Shazam is free, but this is better, and worth the money. Appart from being faster than Shazam, the hum feature is amazing! I almost didn't buy this because of some of the bad reviews about this feature, but I am glad I took a chance on is. My wife and I tested it by humming / singing over 20 songs. It accurately found the correct song in the top couple of matches about 80% of the time, and we are definatelly not pro singers. As a musician I can confirm we went off key a lot, even giggled while sampling. Very happy. The results showed English and some overseas versions of the song. Ok, if you can not get thos to work, you must be DOING IT WRONG! Some people don't realist just how pitch-deaf they are. I love it! The google search for lyrics is handy, and very quick. Also not on Shazam. I do not use the Facebook or Twitter integration, looks interesting but not what I bought is for. Oh, and can people stop winging about it no longer being free? I missed out on the free version, big deal. Well done on this app! I can not imagine how you got your melody detection to work so quickly, and still be flexible. 5 stars. Nice!

Midomi is *way* faster than Shazam!. Midomi nearly always finds and displays even the most obscure song before the progress 'radar' is even halfway around (5 to 10 seconds). Rival free app Shazam always takes a full (15 second) sample then asks you to wait while it sends, analyses and retrieves its results (another 5-10 seconds). In other works, Midomi is WAY faster. I do prefer the cleaner interface in Shazam when browsing historical searches, expecially the inclusion of album art (I wish Melodis Corp would copy this look). Then again, I much prefer the big orange 'go' button in Midomi. Don't let the price influence your decision. You'll notice the difference with Midomi.

2 👍🏻. Excellent app. Never used any other song searching app, never will.

Everyone should have it. I don’t usually write reviews on things, but I think this app deserves a review. I am so impressed impressed by this app as it continues to have updates on a regular basis. Every time I go onto it after an update it seems to get better and better. Well done. Plus this last update was the best so far. Thanks again for a 10/10 app.

Where is the typing gone. This a great app I find extremely valuable. This version seems to have gotten rid of the ability to write some lyrics or artist etc into a text box. This was one of the best features to me. I like the ability to say ok hound but not at the expense of the the text field. PLEASE put back the text field in the search.

What’s happened to Soundhound?. I’ve been using Soundhound for many years and have found it to be consistently better than its competitors with a high success result identifying songs. However for the last few months this has changed. Three out of five tries now bring up a “there were no close matches try again” result. I have even tried a few well known songs from the Beatles and Bob Dylan to give two examples but the result of some of these was again “no close matches try again”.

Alright. Loads slow but is able to recognise songs faster. Once app loading is instant, this will be the ultimate music recognition app.

Great app. Excellent app. Use it frequently

SoundHound. Just works Reliable

The best. I use this app on a thrice daily basis. My office colleagues are what most people would call hipsters, so without seeming like the odd one out, I use Soundhound to find out the artist. Sometimes my office plays such underground music Soundhound can't identify it, but for most artists especially underground hip hop like Hail Mary Mallon it can. Soundhound helps keep me in the loop and be perceived by my peers I'm one of them, daily. Thanks Soundhound.

Before it's time!. If other apps are anything to compare it to, soundhound is before it's time. A far superior sound identification system (which has recognized songs over a bad equalizer and a headphone speaker within 6 seconds) of speed and ability! The UI is well made, pretty and easy to use. Reasons to buy soundhound: +Clean up your music library with details from artists, titles, years, albums and anything in-between. + identify songs from the radio where you've missed the name. Reasons not to buy soundhound: - if you have vast superior knowledge of world music without flaw. Well worth it's price, identifying 97 pieces of music of an attempted 103, from all genres, artists and years!

A must have app. This application is all you will ever need if you are one of those people who can never remember the artist name or song name. Even if you are bad at singing it is still surprisingly accurate, you can even humm the song. The best feature is the music ‘grab’ where you can put your iPhone up to a radio or speaker playing the song, record it for 10 seconds and there it is the same song playing on your iPhone, Great!

So clever. This app is amazing. Never lets me down.

Totally useless now. Shazam is way better now

Amazing!. Perfect for song identification! Identifying from the radio works great! Even the sing/hum feature works really well! It gets the right song most of the time. Really really good app. Defs buy if you are going to use song identification often. The price is maybe a little too high. But in the end, it's all worth it!

👊✌️💪. Probably the most used app on my phone.

It does not work. This was great app till recently when it stopped failing and it no longer works for any songs. Since the new look was introduced app is not work it so there is no point paying for it.

Fantastic App. This is one of the best apps I have purchased for my iPad which I have owned for a month now. I have identified three songs I have heard on the radio and had no idea what they were until I used SoundHound. Since then I have bought two if them from itunes and look forward to identifying many more this way. This App is so cool so thanks to everyone involved in it's development. You have one very happy customer. Cheers Maggie

Simply Awesome, and anyone who fails to find a song should check his/her *singing* ability. I didn't get it the first time, why would you have someting like this? It's not really doing much, but then I tried singing a short version of a really really old song, guess what? It found it right away! I then tried singing in 3 different languages, it picked up all! This is a great way of searching for songs, google should definitely be looking at this when they start thinking of music search...

Great app. I cannot understand why many are using a more popular competing app - maybe it is the result of TV ads and product placement and a catchy name. Soundhound has so many more features, is fast, has the lyrics, is accurate and even recognized my terrible singing or humming of songs to give me the correct song. Give it go!

Awesome!. I just don't understand how this app gets so many bad reviews. Soundhound is brilliant ... easy to use, very accurate, fast and a great interface. I was in two minds whether to buy this app or stick with the free Shazam but I am really happy with it - it's the best $8.99 I ever spent! Apart from everything else it's a great tool for cleaning up my iTunes folder. Highly recommended!!

Excellent. I haven't had a chance to use Shazam Encore at all yet, but I have used the standard Shazam app, and never really liked it. I've been using Midomi Sound Hound since it was first released, way back when it was free, and before GUI was cleaned up and streamlined. Sound Hound is, and has always been a brilliant application. It has always been rock solid with it's detection and performance, and has consistently had improvements added that not only improved it's graphical interface, but also improvements to it's performance, even though the app has always performed brilliantly for me. I can understand how some people might be put off by the price, but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Like I said earlier, I've never used Shazam Encore, but if it's half as good as Sound Hound then it would be well worth the money. Sound Hound is a quality app that is made by a great developer, that has always exceeded all of my expectations.

Highly rated. There’s not a song that SoundHound doesn’t know. Been using for 5 + years, awesome app!!

Must Have Application. Must have application for any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. Best music recognition software currently on the market (better than Sh**am). Free version has a longer recording time (than free version of Sh**am) which means a better chance for the application to recognise a song accurately. This application still has some issues with some indie artists but will catch most mainstream stuff and some pretty obscure titles. Some examples of titles it recognised for me - Eminem: Love the Way You Lie (feat. Rihanna), Jimmy Eat World: The Middle, Martin O'Donnell: Halo: Combat Evolved Theme Song (Xbox/PC Game), Miwa: chAngE (Bleach Theme Song [Anime]) and Muse: Undisclosed Desires. So some pretty mainstream stuff and some more obscure titles. Easily worth the $5.99AUD price tag in my opinion. Hope this review is found to be helpful -stenchlord

SoundHound. I absolutely love Sound Hound. It is the best and most useful of the music apps. A must have for everyone,I use it so often and couldn't live without it and now on my Apple Watch I have a perfect partner. PT (Perth WA)

Poor connectivity. Brilliant program in past however has not evolved. Unable to work with AirPods or in car Bluetooth. Can be done via settings

Still the Best after all these years!. I have been using this for over 2 years & it's better than ever. Faster, more graphically beautiful & well laid out. I always recommend this to everyone that likes music. Scan a song & go on a musical journey of similar songs or artists to discover new music. GET THIS APP NOW!

Soundhound Rocks. This app has been invaluable to me...I had some old tunes on my computer, that did not have song names, and this is the perfect tool to find out the artist and song so quickly, within seconds! I also use it to identify new music that I hear when Im out and about, or listening to the radio..and then I can get all the latest/and best songs!

Almost Perfect. This is one of the most used apps in my library, well worth the money. I love how it syncs the lyrics with the song. Only thing to make it complete would be if you could stream Internet radio as well, even if it was via URL entry (next update maybe). Very recommended to anyone who likes music.

Love it!. Very easy to use. Easy brrrrzy!!!

Wonderful app. Extremely useful when you want to know what's that spellbounding song called. And to make killer playlists. Only reason I gave it 4 stars it doesn’t always find the song if it’s niche, please enlarge the database

“No Music Heard”. Come on guys. I’ve had this app since it first appeared on the App Store. But it no longer accesses the microphone so it can’t tag music. The app was great in the past. Please return SoundHound to its former glory.

Perfect for Latin songs. This app is just amazing. Perfect for Latin songs

Used to be good. No longer reliably IDs songs. Not sure if they gave up on adding new songs to their backend or something

If I could 1 app this is it!!!!!. This app is the best I have ever tried. Can’t live with out it. It has saved me so many times when I’m like who sings this song. 100% accurate I love it. If I had to choose one app on my phone this would be it and screw the rest don’t care. I have my music and I’m happy

It's not a good idea don't have it!!. Impossible live without! Simple like that!!!

Good app. Recognizes 97% of the songs I request.

Love it!!. I literally use this app for everything! Tv shows, commercials, movies when I'm shopping and can't tell what songs on.

Good. Doesn’t recognize as many songs as Shazam. But works with Bluetooth and my Shazam does not.

Can’t connect account to Twitter. For some reason I can’t link my account to Twitter but I can with Spotify

Had to switch back to Shazam. It was a 5 star until a few years ago. It had more and more trouble recognizing songs. I recently tried to find a popular song from a movie (using the real song as reference), and it failed miserably. Had to download Shazam to get the title and artist of the song and it worked right away. Disappointed that I purchased this app and swore by it after all these years only to end up having to switch to the free app Shazam… :(

lost some of my playlist saved. so upset cause songs I saved from 4 months back until now are gone :(

Buggy with Spotify. Using most updated version. When trying to add to a Spotify playlist, my lists don’t show up.

What’s going on ?. There is song added in my history for which I have never hit the button . SoundHound have a life of its own or try to suggest me some pretty bad random tunes . Not good .

It’s better shazam. Every update is getting worse. Always says “we going to save in your history” we can not search now.

Simply the best. loved this from say one.

Doesn’t work - save your money. SoundHound used to be great at identifying songs. Haven’t been able to find the name of songs. I’m shocked I had to pay for that. Shazam works great and is free.

Loves it 🤓❤️. SoundHound rocks!! I end up downloading songs almost each time. Fast & factual 👌🏼

Pretty good.... Gets songs most the time. However a few it should have done it could not. Shazam was the same. Hmmm... Do like it’s other features very much!

Slow launching. Take too much time to load and start searching. Sometimes I miss a last minute song

$$$ well spent. It saves/adds to my iTunes, usually has the lyrics ready. I usually laugh at what it misses, needs an add feature

Update disables “Hey Siri”. After installing this update, my iPhone (latest iOS) would no longer respond to “Hey Siri “. I found that manually activating Siri (holding the home button) would bring “hey Siri “ back to life after that. I also found that every time I started the SoundHound app, whether it was already running in the background or not, and then exited the app, “hey Siri “ would once again no longer work on my iPhone.

Simple intuitive design. Helps me find the songs and lyrics I love but do not know off hand.

Very good. Except for maybe some very new music, SoundHound always gets me the correct title, etc. And very quickly!

Doesn’t get any better than this.... Absolutely love SoundHound... Love the fact that I can hear a tune..get it and then it’s downloaded onto my playlist. Talk about saving a ton of... SoundHound, keep up the great service your offering to myself and many others that’s using this beautiful app.

Trop cool....

Improved a lot!. 💫💫💫💫 I like the fact you always have lyrics I’m missing the bubbles animation when it was looking for a song though…

Awesome music finder!. Love this app! Please con’t to increase you library!

Absolute Poo. This app continues to prove it is absolute poo. No matter how clear the song or close to the source, it never ever reads the song. Save yourself the frustration, do not download this app.

Music lyrics. Great app for music recognition and find lyrics of songs. I have found most of the songs that I have look for. Strongly recommend it

Years worth of enjoyment!. My go to app. Not just identifying songs but history about the band/performers.

Great. I’m always using it to find the name of a song or who sings it. Great for verification of 60’s song games

No1Uknow. Pretty fast, lots of features that I like: info about artists, lyrics, pictures , etc. Unfortunately sometimes doesn’t find a song that exists that you type in the title of & it shows no results and yet when you search the artist, then albums -there’s the song. Why’s that?

Used to be good. I’m not sure if others have noticed, but I’ve had this app for at least 6 years, and I noticed it’s just not finding songs like it used to. I would say I’m getting maybe 10% of my searches back with a match. And they’re not obscure songs or poor quality. It’s frustrating to say the least. Before, I would have recommended this app. Now, I would not. I hope this gets fixed.

Long time user. Love the history of all these years of searching songs.

This Ap is THE useful tool.... For performers and aficionados alike. As a musician/artist it is invaluable when covering requests - especially when requested off the cuff or on the fly. Can’t wait to see what is next...

So good. I downloaded this app for over seven years or more When it just came out an apple And I still love it today I had some beautiful Thro back songs I will never forget get them

Review. I make it a rule to never 5 star an app that asks for a rating. Often crashes after scanning a song. UI can be slow right when it matters the most.

Holy crap. It's awesome! Version 3.0 is amazing, and you can tell they put in a lot of effort. Shazam can go screw itself, this is THE music app of 2009-2010.

Fully satisfied. Thanks to the hours and days and months it must have taken(and still takes) put in by Sound Hound staff. Before I ever heard of Shazam. I don’t care to know how Sound Hound stacks up against Shazam because I’ve drawn nothing but satisfaction from SH.

Use it all the time. When a song comes across the radio that’s new and interesting, Sound Hound never lets me down. Even strange obscure stuff shows up. Can’t ask for much more than that.

App stops tagging music 6 months ago. DO NOT BUY THIS APP!!!. Updated review June 14, 2019: The updated app still does not work. It still says “no music was heard”. Don’t waste your money buying this app. Use Shazam instead. I’m using iPhone X on iOS 12.3.1 Updated review: It’s been 6 months and the app still does not tag any music since November 2018. This app has been updated many times since then but it still does not work. DO NOT BUY THIS APP!!! This app used to work great but about a month ago it stops tagging any music. It always says “no music was heard”. They are aware of the issue so until there’s a fix, this gets a 1 star

My favourite. My favourite go to music search platform, pairs well with Spotify!!

Just super awesome. 👍

Just awesome! Beats shazam. Been a very long time user of this amazing app. This is so much better than Shazam. Shazam has done more advertizing so its popular today but Soundhound is the former Midomi that I loved. You can even hum to it to match a song you have in your head. Love you guys at Soundhound!

Widget stoppedWorking iOS 13. I would give 5 starts but the widget stopped working and I rely on that a lot. Please fix

Gr8. Love it but it needs access to some of the older tunes for us baby boomers! That would get you 5 stars

Fix portrait mode. Do it

What !!!. What did you do to this app !? I am unable to open most of my search history, video, I don’t care if the song has a video, I am into music. If I wanted video I’d go to YouTube. Keep to lyrics & songs please. And give them to my quickly, please.

SoundHound. I’ve used it for years and it just keeps getting better

Great app. I love how quick the app identifies songs even if they are obscure. And the history to allow me to go back and hear older songs is great

The best by far!. I have used them all and SoundHound is the fastest and most accurate way to find music identification.

Classy , fast accurate. I love this app. It’s innovative constantly changing and works really fast. It’s taught me more about music than any app of its kind try it you’ll fall in love.

What a great app.. It works. Those two words are all I need to write, but it really does! I love the archiving and playing of songs too!

The best!. I can’t live without SoundHound because there is so much music out here I don’t know. I hear a tune and fall in love with it and reach for my phone. Boom, I find the name and purchase it. Magic.

Great App. Works really well and has helped me find new artists to listen to along with the names of musicians who I didn’t know sang certain songs.

Finally! I can ask an app instead of my friends!. What's that song playing? I think its Blink182. No, its Linkin Park! No, its Nirvana! It's Jewel! What the heck? Ah, here we go, my Soundhound says its Foo Fighters. Cool, thanks Soundhound!

What happened?. Suddenly videos are opening all over the place, can’t scroll through the different videos, functionality poor compared to previous. Swipe up sometimes opens with a google search???? What happened. Please change back, less automagic.

Bummer. I used to think this was top notch however with the latest updates it crashes every time I select most anything in the app. Also don’t care for the new layout/format was much better when it showed all albums a particular song appeared on. Please fix the crashes been using this app since around 2010

SoundHound wonderful. “What is that song?” can now be answered, and fabulous music that might be lost forever to my ears can be put on my playlist! SoundHound has played a big part in my discovery of music.

It works. Almost without fail, this app tells me the song that is playing.

Better than others. Especially for Chinese and Cantonese songs, I think it’s better than the others.

Priceless. I love SoundHound. It is how I buy music now. Truly. I hear stuff I like, usually at H&M or the like. I SoundHound. I buy. Tower and Virgin are gone. I have control; I’m not spoon fed what to listen to. Thank you.

Often can’t identify Christian music songs. In general, this app does a good job, but if you’re trying to find a Christian music song, there’s about three out of four chance that it will have no idea what you’re playing. Broaden your horizons, guys.

This App Rocks. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this app! Use it all the time. Ever heard that song you loved, but didn’t know the name? This is your app. And it gives artist and album title. Works with Apple Music. Can’t say enough good things.

Broke. Use Shazam. This used to be the best app for identifying music. Now it doesn’t identify anything. Common songs. No match found. Shazam is the better app now. Identifies the songs almost immediately. Sorry. To say Shazam is now my go to app. I wish this app worked because I paid for it a while back when it was great.

Crashes. Bought this app years ago and loved. I still use it when I need to capture a title Usually works 8 out 10 But with this latest update it just crashes Please fix this issue

Thank you SoundHound. I have found countless songs over the years, thank you

Slow, missing loads of content. The app used to work well, but today it either times out entirely, makes inaccurate guesses, or fails to arrive at results that should easily be in the database. Either the system is down, the company is down, or something else is won’t. Tried it on both WiFi and LTE on two different devices. Sorry SoundHound! If the app is fixed I’ll fix the review!

Feature crash. I am giving this a one star because of a feature that causes the app to crash. Find a song, close the app, open app again, go to the history, click the three little dots to the right of any song and BOOM. Crashes. Search a song, click on the lyrics area while you are listening to the song, click the three dots, boom crashes! Search a song, bookmark it, click the play button, click the text of any part of the lyrics, this leads you to the full lyrics page, click the three dots, BOOM! Come one guys, this is QA 101....

Don’t know the words?. Click the listen button wait 5 seconds and start singing along.

Slow start. Just little too slow until it actually listen Need faster loading time

Hope you guys will add better video PIP features…. Hope you guys will add better video PIP features in the future updates. Sometimes we just want to multitask with our phones. Please add this feature. My Device: iPhone 14 Pro Max (latest iOS), iPhone SE (1st Generation, iOS 15.7.8), iPad Pro 12.9” (3rd Generation, 2018, latest iOS/iPadOS) Note: I regularly update my review/rating for this application. With Kindest Regards-BR

Recent update shows ads and problematic. Seems the most recent update now shows ad at the top. Music detection has dropped dramatically. Keeps complaining about can’t hear anything.. move closer etc. Previous version it was snappy and detection was fantastic.

Shazam? Never heard of her. In a crowded bar, discotheque, or 12-step meeting this app will let you know what it is you’re hearing that you want to listen to that isn’t what you’re hearing. Reliable AF.

Must have app. Love music. This app enables you to identify songs that you need to have and don’t know the name of with many additional functions that are indispensable the true music lover.

Good, but not great yet.... More often than not the app doesn't recognize anything it hears (I have the paid version). When I switch over to Shazam, that app recognizes the music almost immediately. SoundHound looks great, it could use some more consistency in its performance.

Can’t live without it. It makes me crazy when I hear a song I like and don’t know what it is. So great to have Sound Hound that can tell me what every song is I hear. So fun!!

Great App!. I use SoundHound to find those songs I hear and don’t know, or can’t remember the name or artist. It works great!

Gets better with age. For the most part this app rarely fails me. I’ve used it consistently for over 8 years and it gets better and better.

Great Music App. Been using SoundHound for many years. Excellent and reliable. What more do you want?

Amazing. I’ve had SoundHound for years and the app is literally AMAZING!!! The apps ability to pick out songs in noisy restaurants, cars or other venues is incredible.

Best one out there. Not like I've tried all of them, but love the simplicity and usefulness of the interface and ability to identify songs... even tough ones.

Pretty good. Was great when I first started a few years back then had a very spotty time with it over the last 6 months but now seems back up to speed!

Works Great for Me!. Love it. I'm a radio station bouncer while driving. I love sound hounds simplicity to ID a song I've never heard before and easily add it to my music libraries!

HOLY SH**. You can hum a song and it’ll find it. And it works. It’s amazing I have no idea how this thing works but it really does

By far my favorite song app!. Lightning quick recognition. Live lyrics are fantastic - for popular songs, it's like having yours personal karaoke machine!

It even finds the unique. I was listening to SPA on DISH and James Asher Duskfire (from Tigers of the Raj) started playing and it was able to give me all the information right away

Sound Hound Rocks!. I love this app!! I use it on a regular basis, I’ve had this app for a long long time and I use it several times a week

Name that tune!. So helpful, and this app seems to keep improving in its ability to ID that song. Lyrics, background info about the artist, search history, it’s all good.

Drops Bluetooth. Normally has been a great app, but the current version drops your Bluetooth connection, which is really annoying if you're trying to use the app with headphones. The app also leaves Bluetooth disconnected so you'll have to manually reconnect to play music that you might, you know, find through this app.

Shazam much better. Decent, but after too many songs it couldn’t identify, I tried Shazam again. Not only does the Shazam database seem far superior now, but it’s a lot faster as well.

Absolutely LOvE it. Such a great app. Love all the features, especially when it shows me the lyrics along with the song!

Love it. Use it all the time when I don’t recognize a song and want to know which song is playing

Can’t hear any sounds. For a while now on my iPhone X, this claims it never hears any song sounds. However, it immediately understands my voice to tell Soundhound to give me help. It’s like the entire song conversion routine is missing. It’s now worthless, except for manually looking up lyrics on songs I know and can enter.

Great recording and identification. Every song a hold the phone up to listen to sound hound gets it.

Hasn’t Failed Me Yet!. SoundHound is a great song identifying app. I use it all the time and it has always identified the song I was listening to.

Quick Easy Accurate. It’s all of the above and more. Doesn’t matter where I am, I never have to wonder who is singing ... and if I want that track I can download it straight from the app‼️#WayCool

Not Quite Yet. I'm with SoundHound for life but being honest Shazam is faster and it “knows” lesser known artists at a higher rate! That said, SoundHound has never left my phone since the day I downloaded it many years ago because hope remains😍!!
