Change entry type. Can't figure out how to change entry type from gas to diesel

Great Program!. I think this is a great program for tracking this kind of thing. I bought this one because it also reminded me about oil changes and things like that. It is very customizable with the ability to change the months and miles for oil change reminders. You can completely edit entries, even the date entered. One thing I would like to see is tracking total fuel costs. Now, you only enter the gallon price and number of gallons. But you can always export it into Excel and do further analysis if you want, which is nice. I like the idea of assigning a photo to each vehicle, but since the vehichle name and current mileage show up in white, it makes it hard to read unless your photo has dark areas in the right places. So what I did was create manufacturer logos that are all black background, so the text shows up perfectly. Anyone who's interested in seeing what I mean can shoot me an email at vbmike73 at yahoo and I can share them. Just a very clean cut look to top off this already great app!! Definitely worth the purchase, and like others have said, the developer seems VERY open to ideas and suggestions to improve this program!

Works great!. I've been using this app since September 2008. Multiple vehicles, changed phones, updated, never lost anything. I’m a car guy. Always tinkering, and upgrading. Every part, every injector cleaner bottle, every cent is tracked on this app. I have great stats on every vehicle! I love this app. Will keep it forever! Just make an entry at every fillup. It makes graphs, charts and statistics. Update 01/22 Still working great on the latest phone. Thanks again !

IOS 13 not so good - now Fixed!. I’ve used this app for several years and have been mostly satisfied. However, recent update that supports IOS 13, dark mode, etc. crashes every time I try to look at the entries for each of the 3 vehicles I track. Since updates come at best 1 year intervals, am I forced to export the data (assuming that still works) and try importing to another app? Update-a new update was pushed within a day or two of leaving my review. Update solved the problem and then the developer reached out to see if the problem was resolved. Pretty good if you ask me.

Stats. After obtaining help from customer service on how to get the stats to work properly, I have to rate this application now as a 5 star! GREAT App and EXCELLENT Customer Service. Fast and Responsive! My problem was: My graphs don't seem to be updating other then Largest, most expensive & Least expensive fuel fill. Nothing else under Vehicle Stats is working/updating, and under the Fuel graphs, my fuel economy graph is not showing either. The price graph works fine however. I have input 3 gas fills as of the date of purchase (22 JUN 2009) and all entries are showing, but no stats or graphs! The feedback forum got back to me via email and informed me of the following: Do you have your tanks marked as full tanks? You will need that for the vehicle stats and graphs to work. A full tank means you have filled the tank to Full - it doesn't matter where the tank was when it began, just as long as you filled gas to the same level (full) each time. COMPLETELY BROKEN. This app is completely broken on my iPhone 7 running iOS 13.3.1. Older entries disappear upon editing, and attempting to re-enter them causes the app to crash randomly. I’ve been trying for fifteen minutes to correct and re-enter four simple gas fill-ups from my previous entries and this Car Care app has fought me every step of the way. It’s an absolute nightmare that I’m deleting from my phone immediately - not worth the headache. This app needs A LOT of work.

Used it for years.... Now, all it does is crash when I try to start it. The last update turned it to useless and the app support website crashes too. I’ve come to count on this thing now I guess u need to replace it

Still the best. Have been using this app since my first iPhone. It’s still the best app for tracking fuel, mileage and maintenance.

Feature Ideas. It would be cool to be able to see a quick breakdown of how many miles are on various parts on your vehicle especially tires for example. The app is great for reminding you to get your car serviced, but it’s less obvious (requires subtraction) to find those stats. Also, it would be cool to be able to track miles on summer and winter tires. I tried to set up a reminder to buy new tires but I realized it can’t track multiple sets. Also, it would be cool to be able to list out average miles between oil changes, etc to see how good of an owner you’ve been.

Mostly Good. I have been using this app for years, and it handles almost everything well - except for a new set of tires. I can put it under tire balance or tire rotation, but it needs a New Set of Tires option that resets all tire-related data. Then I will give it 5 stars.

Upgrade failed. “Upgrade “ from 2 days ago failed! When trying to look at entries the app immediately quits and returns you to the phone main screen. Update: Contacted the developer by email- new update fixed the problem. Back to a great app!

Very useful. Great app to track all your gas and services/repairs. Great reminders and easily customizable for your preferences. Awesome support too. Had a minor issue exporting / emailing the data and the issue was answered promptly. One minor improvement I would recommend is a modification to the notes field. It’s a bit difficult to work with and sometimes the entire note is not viewable on the entry. But a very useful app. I’ll be selling my car soon and can give the buyer a complete report (through the export function) of the maintenance and gas! A good thing for my sale negotiating. 😁

Handy for tracking the personal fleet. First ever review for me. I've been using this program for years, tracking 7 cars. Didn't I change brakes on that car? Car care remembers. When did I change the o2 sensor? Again, car care remembers. I notice some less than favorable reviews. May I suggest that you either haven't explored the app, i.e. It doesn't allow a certain entry for a reminder. I thought so once but instead of trashing the app I contacted Karl and he explained how to add categories, or otherwise make this work. I'd say half the time, I just wasn't aware of features or how to run the program. Other times, he took my suggestion and made changes to the program. So, ask. He is very responsive. The not do good. Yeah, the import export is not dead simple but is doable. Sure, it could be better and with some encouragement, maybe it will happen. Export your data before switching devices and updating the program. All in all, happy with the program and support.

Well good try but no success. Looks like they tried to fix the problem but no success. You can now see eateries but when adding new service can’t see the selections. Still broke and needs fixing or guess I will go looking for another application that works.

No Support. I had to reset my iPhone and before doing so I backed up everything to iTune. When I reinstalled everything all my other apps with stored information in them were as they had been before the reset but not this app. All my years of data for this app were gone. I have emailed the developer several times and gotten NO RESPONSE. Don't waste your money on this app as it is definitely not supported!

Unusable with this version. Crashes every time when selecting “entries”

I like it, but it needs work.. I've been using this for years. I find the number entry a little weird, hitting the decimal when going for 0. It just seems off somehow. I also have to enter the $0.009 digit for price per gallon at every fill-up. It'd be nice if it was just understood and shown that way on the screen. The coup de gras for me though was that after buying 4 new tires, I got a rotation reminder 100 miles later. That should have been reset automatically after any tire purchase. Doing multiple maintenance items from one service is a pain to enter. I just don't feel like this has been as well thought out as possible considering the number of years it has been on the market. I'm using my new car as a reason to change to something else. Good luck.

Can’t Import Data to New Phone. I replaced an aging iPhone 4s with an iPhone 12 this week. Since I couldn’t import the apps and data directly into the iPhone 12, I used the Car Care export feature to save the data on a car to a tab delimited text file. I had to pay for a new version of Car Car for the new phone, but was happy to do this since my wife and I have been using the app for all of our cars. Unfortunately, the web-based import feature is broken and I can’t import the data collected since the car was new. I can upload the formatted data into the KarlBecker utility with no problems. When I submit the form so I can receive an ID number and password so I can import the data into the phone, I see a mostly black screen with no information. While I have been happy with Car Care for many years, the inability to restore historical information after replacing a phone is a huge deal breaker.

LONG-time user on multiple platforms, first time reviewer. I’d really like to give this a 5-star review but with my last few vehicles I’ve noticed there is always one service reminder I cannot find (I track performance and mileage, etc. on both mine and my wife’s vehicles and have for over 10 years+). If 4 are showing as due, I can only find 3 in red in the app. I always rotate my tires with oil changes and I add a PTFE engine additive during oil changes as well. On every other oil change, I also have the tires balanced (in addition to rotating them). The obvious service reminders show, but one is always invisible. Why is that and where is it and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

Great app. Works great, been using it for 5-6 years now. i track 3 cars, a lawn mower, 2 generators on it (maintenance)

Back up?!?. I really like this app. It’s simple and easy to use. Plus if you set it up, you can keep easy track of all your car maintenance. I’ve used it for easily 8 years, went through two phones. Had tons of data on my vehicles and my driving. Last phone got destroyed, no back up, nothing. Gone. Forever. There should be a feature to sync it with saved file. Something. It’ll allow you to email the data. But if you have something happen to your phone out of your control, you can’t save it.

Bad update. Lousy Dark Mode support. Crashes when I try to view entries I do get on Dark Mode are difficult to read because of the darkish fonts on a dark background. Needs more work.

Just what I wanted. I've used this app for several years now, haven't had any problems. I've backed up and restored information. Graphs are useful and reminders have always worked. Fuel stops are easy to enter. If I had a wish list it would be to synchronize a single car on 2 iPhones so can follow the wife's and daughters car on my phone to see when oil changes are coming up. The other lesser item on my wish list is to be able to attach invoices to work done at service centers.

Best of the Bunch....so far. As a dyed in the wool piston-head (talk 'bout mixed metaphors!), I naturally had to buy & try all of the car-care/mpg apps out there. Have to say, this one is the best I've tried, w/ an interface that works w/out being over-simplistic, & multiple options for data entry. Nearly as feature packed as Car Cubby, but w/out that apps cumbersome interface & time-consuming feature utilization. The service reminders work w/out being intrusive, & ....here's an idea for you other developers..IT EVEN SHOWS YOUR CURRENT MPG AFTER DATA ENTRY IS COMPLETE! Yes, I'm looking at YOU Car Cubby! On the down side, it shares the Achilles heel common to every car care app to date; no convenient, elegant or productive way to download & evaluate the data you've taken so much time to enter. Look guys, if someone is nuts enough about their car to buy this type of program, and spend the time necessary to continuously update, they're gonna want to play with.....er.....analyze it in a number of ways. Peering at a pretty graph on the ipod just doesn't justify the cost & effort. So go to it KB. You're in the lead, but the car cubby guys, while not the sharpest spark plugs in the box, are diligent to a fault. 4 stars....for now!

Reminder pop ups?. Love and used this app for years. But recently I’ve noticed I no longer get reminder pop ups for services due. Just downloaded the latest update, but no change.

Used to be awesome. I’ve been using this app for 5 years to keep track of my pickup and Harley. This app hasn’t been updated for over a year and the map feature that used to put a pin on a map where ever gas was purchased does not work with my IPhone 8. Very disappointed as that was one of the features that sold me on this app to begin with. Please update this app to work with phones newer than IPhone 6 !!

Great new update Dec/08. The best program in its class. I had given this program high marks before but since the DEC 08 update it is tops. Does everything you could want. I use it religiously and love it. Have had such programs on my Palm TX for many years and this is better than anything I've had before. The developer is quick to respond to my emails and seems to be loyal to his following. I would HIGHLY recommend this program. With the option to use number pad or wheel for entry, putting in data is effortless. It even has email support for exporting AND importing data. Good idea to email yourself the data ever so often. I have never had the misfortune of losing data during an update, but backup is a good idea. And this program allows you to then import your backup. Can do partial fillups, and you can customize the maintenance events to include anything you might want. In conclusion, a great app which is definitely worth the price and makes you life more productive. I cant recommend it enough. App crashes after update. When attempting to edit fuel or service entries the app crashes and closes. Hope to get an update to fix this issue.

One of my Favorites. This and Gas Buddy get a whole lot of use! This was accurate until my link disappeared today on my new iPhone 12. When I touch the app it takes me to a page with thank you for your purchase and at the top “edit” not active and an active button to “add” a car. 😢

Waste of money. This app should be pulled from the App Store. The fact that it’s $5 is a crime. Nothing saves and the interface is from 1990. To transfer any data you have to use a desktop and it’s cumbersome and time consuming. Stay away

I Love This App BUT. Where are the updates. I have used this forbears but unit seems like the developer has disappeared. Could use some new features and bug fixes.

Latest update a bust!. It totally crashes after latest update. Lost the info for my latest entry.

No backup, lost data on phone upgrade. Like others here have complained before, I have lost all my data when I upgraded my phone. App works reasonably well and once you get used to the interface it's quick for data entry, but it doesn't see to back data up to iCloud (or anywhere else) so you can easily loose your history (which for me is the point of the app)

Terrible App. This App is terrible. Can not go back and see previous fuel entries and no way to update them. Would like my money back before I delete this app.

Keep tweaking. Useful app overall. Transferring data when changing phones is a bit of an archaic process. Still, handy for tracking maintenance intervals, etc.

Lastest update has is now crashing... & more.. When attempting to review your entries the app will crash every time. Service entry are unusable as the are all listing of service choices are unreadable, since the background and the font are the same colour. If not corrected, I look else where for an app that does what I want.

Forever User. I’ve used this app for YEARS! I like how it transfers over via iCloud. Never lost my stuff. Their customer service is also very responsive when I lost my iTunes email and account and helped transfer my data over. My asks: - the ability to save and transfer the file and not the excel and coding - PLEASE add differential flush, Brakes changed, Brake flush, radiator flush, transfer case flush, a misc category. - the ability to share on Facebook to more people will download the app

Stops tracking fuel fill entries. I’ve used this app for years with no issue, but it’s suddenly stopped keeping track of fuel entries. I’ve lost the last 2 months worth of entries. It saving some of it - the mileage I enter is current, but the fuel fills stopped saving, which makes it useless for fuel efficiency.

I have had it a long time. I have this car care app a long time.... when it first came out. Over the years with different phones and updates I have had numerous times it doesn’t save the VIN. It’s not a recent update causing the problem. Today I added another vehicle. It didn’t save the VIN.... then it didn’t save mileage. Finally got it to save the VIN after numerous tries. Then it crashed when I loaded the photo. Tried this about 6 times. Re-booted the phone after I closed all the open apps. It still crashed the app when I loaded a photo. Tried loading several more times..... it finally took the picture. I am afraid it will still lose the info like it has done on other cars I have. I have around 8 vehicles loaded.... maybe that’s too many!

CarCare. I’ve been using this app for years and as of yet, have not found a better app for tracking service, repairs and gasoline purchases. Only thing I find a little weird is when you enter mileage and the dollar amount spent. Otherwise it’s a fantastic app which is why I rate it four stars.

Excelent tool. Simply the way to control and keep my vehicles health. It helps me to remember for past condition of the vehicles, repairs, oil change, wheels rotation and all I want to have it in control

Version 1.56 broken.. Car care app is amazing however the new update totally broke the ability to view entries on any of your vehicles as lines are all on top of each other so now is a useless app

Too fiddly but very useful. I like the service interval feature and odometer/av fuel consumption with photos on car selection page and some review concerns have been addressed BUT: - it is still too fiddly scrolling to 59.9L fuel! - once metric selected for car it is too easy to accidentally change L to gal - it is still too slow starting up Fixing these concerns will result in a great app!

Mal. Far too much detail for a service reminder program. Cost of fuel? Has to go in tank anyway, so why worry. It won't reolace the log book required for tax department.

Very useful app. Finally found a mileage app which provides for import and export. Like the ability to use keypad for data entry. Would like landscape graphing feature instead of portrait.

Overpriced. This app is overpriced! It is useful but it is also slow and fiddly with dials used for entering data. With a bit of work, a few tweaks, and a price reduction this will become worthwhile. At the moment the graphics and extras just don't justify the price.

Detailed, but rewarding. Car Care offers the simultaneous benefits of mileage (fuel economy) calculations and reminding the user when service/s are due. The latter is intentionally annoying: yes, regular maintenance is critical for keeping a car on the road! Combining these two, along with user adding some hidden costs (i.e. depreciation/insurance/govt. charges) gives the opportunity to calculate the true cost per km of your car. I have used this app across three vehicles now, to show that this bottom line can vary significantly even amongst similar models! Highly recommended.

Good app, but really needs metric units. Bought this hoping the metric version will be out soon, as otherwise I cant use it. Kilometers and litres please :) Oh also would be nice if you could add a custom car in as I have cars that are not in the list as I am in a different market. Plus I have some old cars too. Keep up the good work!

Great App, Well Supprted. This is a simple fast and effective fuel recording app for the iPhone. Thanks to the recent update input is now faster, and the alerts now appear on the launch icon - great for those who need reminding!! Great work!!

Metric definately req'd. Great app, hoping that AU$ will be added to the currency, as well as free form fields for cars as Australian cars may not be listed. Unable to use app until metric update added, bought on the promise of free upgrades.

Excellent App. Does everything I need. Highly recommended. I use it for my motorcycle and I would like to be able to diarise one extra event - chain lube (required every 1000km). Otherwise, it's spot on.

Easy to use. Nice simple way to tracking car expenses and be reminded of due services. Good stats and easy data entry. Using for 2 cars. Definitely recommend.

Much better. Update - The update was a long time coming, but has fixed the issues I had with the app, well done. Now I will reccomend this to freinds. One more feature request though: gps record of fueling and service points please.

Great Application but needs an update. This is a great application for car service and maintenance, however it would be great if there was a liters option for gas input rather than just gallons. Since I already have the equivalence application for doing conversions on my phone it is an extra step, (I use the equivalence app to convert the liters to gallons) but worth it for now. Really would love to see an update though to save on this step.

Excellent app. Great and easy to use.

Great tracking, but fairly buggy. I love using this app for keeping track of my vehicles, including a motorcycle. It's also great in being able to switch units appropriate for travelling across the border (e.g.: enter gallons for your fuel but still enter odometer in kilometres) It does have some bugs in the latest updates to be ios10 compatible, mine rendered horribly and the UI was completely unusable until I rebooted my phone. It works now.

DIY. Love the app. Put 3 years of maintenance records in for the car quickly and easily. Set up reminders the way I like them, and it's a lot easier to keep track of maintenance items than my old spreadsheets. Gas feature should be handy too.

Additional features suggetion. In my opinion, there should be additional buttons for different gasoline grade not just premium or regular gas (didn't know if it has diesel options), also it could be nice if you can take pictures of the gas / maintenance receipt, photos of damage and print them. In any case, this apps works good.

Location Icon. The location icon bug still needs to be fixed... Fix it please...

Okay, but.... It can't remember any car info, just the photo and some of the gas / mileage inputs. I thought it was handy, but not reliable for a strong database. Deception. This problem is there since 2008 as it is describe by users on their support forum.

Well done... but no sync???. A great app, I use it all the time, but... why isn't there a way to sync the info with my wife a phone? This would be a really nice feature. Right now I can't see the info when she gasses up the car. That's Abhi oversight.

Great customer support!. I've been using this app for over 8 years and have seen a few updates. Overall, it's been quite reliable and holds all my fuel data for both my vehicles. The only major hiccup I can recall was with a recent bug from an iOS update preventing me from accessing my past entries. I got a hold of the developer, who got back to me quickly and was very courteous. He was able to resolve the issue within a day and issued a new update. Everyone works again as it should. After all these years, it's great to know someone is still standing behind their product and supporting their customers.

Please fix. Please fix the location service. Even after today's update it stays on all the time. Had to turn it off in settings. Other than that... AWESOME app. Used it for a long time on both my SUV and motorbike!

Bug. Location service always on. V1.45. So annoying. After the v1.45 update, the location service icon is always on. I had to turn the location option off from the location settings.

Great App & Support. This app is perfect to track the fuel consumption & maintenance of your vehicle. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to back-up the data but the developer responded to my email inquiry within minutes & everything got sorted out. I highly recommend this app!

From great to awful. I've been using this app for YEARS. It was great... at one time. It has gotten progressively worse with every update. The UI is horrible. It's graphically broken and the developer made a few attempts to update it but it gets worse every time. It's ugly and I hate to say I'm giving up on this app. Don't even bother. It's gross.

App crashes when I try and change entry date. Everyday I go on to enter service work and parts I put on the car over the weekend it crashes when I select the date

Perfect app. Exactly what I've been looking for. A place for everything from oil changes to everyday gas and car wash expenses. And No math, everything's done fore you after a few simple inputs. And the ability to add several different vehicles. Great app.

Awesome but.... The new update is causing it to crash when I try to edit some of the entry details. No big deal cause it doesn't affect all entries but a little annoying. Still rocking the 5 stars.

Excellent app with enormous potential!!. This app is just what I've been looking for! It is not only useful for the car enthusiasist, but everyone who owns a vehicle. I've been communicating with the developer to make this app more Canadian-friendly, so hang in there my fellow Canadians. Over the next couple updates, all our issues with using the metric system in this app will be rectified. Keep up the good work Karl!

Not so impressed anymore. Been using over a year, but when I changed iOS devices I lost all my data for 4 different cars. Now I'm looking for a similar app that I won't lose my data with. Prior to this I would have given it 5-stars. Developer has ignored my email enquiries so far... :(

Garbage app with bugs galore. No updates since July 2012? Fix the bugs. Can't remember if I paid for this app. If I did I certainly regret it.

Uh oh!. The last update changed all my dates entered to 1969! Not good with almost 2 years worth of data entered...

Very handy but...... Like the title says, very handy app to track the fuel economy unless you have a diesel vehicle. It doesn't but should have a diesel fuel option. Now I remember why I stopped using this app years ago because, after an update a few years ago, they deleted that option and all my vehicles are diesel.

Great App. Beats doing this all manually in an excel spreadsheet.

Brilliant. It's fast and does exactly what I want it to. Keeps track of my price at the pump and how much I'm spending per day / week or per km. It helped me decide to sell one vehicle and buy another one. I knew with confidence when dealing with the car salesman exactly what my break even price point would be on a newer, more expensive but more fuel efficient vehicle. Also keeps easy track of my business miles. Just do it.

Very useful. Really simple to use and very useful to keep track of how much your car is costing you as a whole. Reminders about maintenance are great. Only suggestion is to add an "other" category when uploading maintenance options. (Just had to get my door repaired)

Great vehicle tracking tool. I've been using the Car Care app for several years now. I love the reminders as well as the fuel consumption calculation for my car. The only thing I'd really like to see is some kind of cloud backup. Last year my iPhone had to be reset and I lost all of the data I had been keying. You can export the data but it would be so much better if this was automatic. Then maybe it could be shared amongst 2 or more devices too.

Works good. Works as I'd hoped, still learning ins and outs. Data entry is pretty easy, can you review or edit your entries online? Transferring entries from one device to another is a bit clingy and a synch function would be appreciated.

Not so great. This app is probably fine if you are the only person who fills up your vehicles. However, if you share a vehicle with your spouse or someone else, there's no way to automatically sync data between phones. You have to do it via a cumbersome browser based system, which is far from convenient, so your data will usually be out of date. The developer said he was planning to implement a cloud-based solution for this problem (that would be available after iOS 5 came out - no, that's not a typo), but has apparently decided this app is "not a big money maker" for him so he isn't going to bother. So I wouldn't bother buying this app if I were you.

Handy pocket car tracking database app. Very simple to use and intuitive. Though some have mentioned app crashing, I have not encountered this. On the contrary I have found it easy to insert forgotten gas loads if caught early. The developer is open to suggestions and has already indicated improvements to be included in future versions based on user needs. Exporting data to keep backups is a very useful feature which ensures constant availability of entries. I highly recommend the app to all who need to keep track of their car expenses for tax or reimbursement purposes.

Good analytics but.... You have to save after entering each field or it reverts to default values. Pit stop really? It is very annoying Developers should use the product to make it easier rather than exasperating to use

Top notch!. Been using Car Care for a while now. Fantastic app. Allows you to track everything about your car (expenditures, maintenance, fuel, etc.) as well as offers up reminders on when to perform maintenance, etc. Top features: - Fuel efficiency & spending tracking (including GPS data on fill-ups if you want) - Customizable reminders (oil change, tire rotation, detailing, whatever) based on time or milage/kilometres - Vehicle information storage (store your VIN, plates, insurance #, etc. and even a pic) - Data export/import. Your data is YOUR data. Incredibly easy to export everything. Makes resale a cinch as you have complete maintenance records down to the GPS of the shop you did it at if you want. - Multiple car tracking - Ongoing development. It's not stale and the developers actually ask the community what new features they want most. No I don't work for Car Care. Just really like/recommend the app.

More functional than some understand. I have used this app for a couple of years. It does a very good job with minimal negatives. Great for tracking mileage, allows user to document grade of gas (reg, plus, premium), select if tank was filled completely or partially. Lots of categories for service but can be cumbersome (my biggest con & reason for docking it one star). Insert photo for each vehicle for quick recognition. User can choose to restart fuel mileage calculations if any entries are missed. I would like to see an option to turn off the pit stop timer and a way to add photos of the receipts for service.

Great Application. I am happy I got this program. It does what it says well. It could use a bit of updating. Like custom reminders/services, and decimal of gas prices to 3 points. However, I contacted the developer with my questions and suggestions and he responded quickly and politely. He is very responsive about suggestions and will be adding many of the suggestions I have read in the other reviews. I would have given a three because it needs some small improvements here and there (so not a five star app yet). However because he is so responsive to the user's and suggestions I gave this app an extra star for that. As for the guy who can't enter miliage (miked), I don't know what he is talking about. My car has almost 80,000 miles on it and I entered it just fine. Looks like it goes up to 999,999. You have a great car if you have driven it more than that!

Does the job well and looks even more promising for the future.. I entered about 2 1/2 years worth of data and found Car Care to be quite pleasant most of the time. There are a few minor issues, some of which have already been addressed in version 1.10 and some that I am confident will be addressed in 1.20. Before purchasing Car Care, I looked at the competition and didn't find anything that looked like it would meet my needs. I have exchanged email with the author and I found him to be very receptive to suggestions. I look forward to an even better version after a couple more releases, but the current release is very good. I'm giving 5 stars in part based upon my expectations for the future, but I would certainly give the current version at least 4 stars (4 1/2, if I could).

Excellent job!. Last year I plunked down $300 for FileMaker Pro, mainly so that I could write a database program to keep track of my car stuff. Now I find an application that does the same thing for $4.99 and I can keep it in my pocket! It does everything it's advertised to do and then some. I few tweaks would bring it up to 5 stars, I think. For instance, a desktop program to sync with (although the current version allows you to email data to yourself and you could then put it in a spreadsheet) and more maintenance items with reminders would be useful. As far as one reviewer's problems with high mileage vehicles, one of my cars has 149,000 miles on it and another has 94,000. No problems on my end. Very nicely done app!

Great Application and Amazing Support!. I would like to echo the review posted by jr. meteorologist. I was also having trouble with the application, but after contacting the developer I had assistance with my issue in less than an hour. He has continued to work with me to resolve my issue. I too have been less impressed with other developers, never receiving a response at all to my request for help. This developer however really stands behind his application. The application is solid and works well. I have six vehicles that I track using this application. The future updates will address many of the issues other reviewers have pointed out. I am not aware of another application that will track your mileage and your service on multiple vehicles. I highly recommend that you give this application a try!

Good version 1 and will get better.. I like Car Car, it does more than other mileage tracking apps that I've tried. The ability to track service and get reminders sets it apart. It compares to my old favorite from my Palm days: AutoMinder. The developer responds to emails and is genuinely interested in hearing user feedback. I'd like to be able to enter trip mileage as well as odometer mileage. And I would like to be able to enter the cost of the fill-up, and not have to enter only the per gallon price. That's my 2 cents. He is going to add date editing in the near future, so I am going to look forward to more improvements. I recommend Car Care.

Now that I get it..... At first I did not know which application to purchase in this catagory as they seem fairly close except for a few differences. I purchased Car Care because it seemed to have the most features, user control and developer intrest. I noticed initially a couple of bugs in the current version 1.2, and became unsure of my decision, so I notified the developer. The response was excellent and updates to correct them I'm told are to follow. I also had problems initially understanding how the application decided when my services were due and thought this too was a bug. To my relief the developer was very helpful and responsive understanding my concerns. Seems like a very nice guy who cares about his progam and wants his customers to be satisfied. Now that I get it, the aplication is just what I wanted and the support gives me confidence in my purchase. Easily recommended!

Great app to help track MPG and keep your car in top shape!. Not only does this application have great MPG functionality but it comes with other features that allow you to track maintenance performed on your car. I'm constantly forgetting when I have to change the oil in my car (despite the stickers in the window). This is more my style as when I’m entering fill ups I will be reminded if I’m due for service. Without much data to chart I can’t give a good review of the graphing functionality. It looks like it will do just find but I think I would have preferred a graph similar to what is in the stocks application. Finally, and most important the developer seems to be constantly adding new functionality based on customer feedback.

EASY TO USE - A MUST HAVE APP. For anyone wanting a simple app to keep track of auto details, this one hits the mark. Please disreguard any one complaining about this product. We have it on all four iPod/phones 2G/3G and it works like magic. People who whine need to go write there own apps with all the nick picking features they want. Ya rrrright, that won't happen. For five dollars you get a simple, easy to use app that will give you some fast basic information about your auto use and exspences. And they keep updating and adding new features all the time. Hats off to the app developers and keep up the wonderful job you are doing and let all the nay Sayers go bigger off.

Great little app!. I have had this App for at least 2 fill ups and I love it. As someone who loves cars, and takes care of their own maintenance, this is so much better than the old white notebook in the glove box! Of course there are a few minor bugs, but they are being fixed. I sent in some feedback and suggestions and it sounds like there is already more good stuff coming! There are other Apps out there that do the same thing, but the layout and interface is really clean and simple in this app, plus it's wide open to possibilities for improvement! I think this has the potential to be the best car maintenance app available, especially with a developer willing to listen to our feedback! I have already recommended this one to all my car club friends. :-)

Best car app available for iPhone & iPod touch. I chose Car Care specifically for its ability to track vehicle servicing. The other apps only recorded gas/mileage. I'm a recent convert from PalmOS and used Teal Auto which had quite a number of great features. There's a big gap between the two, but Car Care is the closest thing in the App Store to Teal Auto. Excellent tech support! I had a problem with the app freezing on me when I selected Fuel Graphs. The developer was prompt to respond to my email and help me fix the problem. I'm looking forward to future updates and releases of Car Care! Thanks Karl!

Love this app. I have a love hate relationship with this app. I love the fact that I can track milage and service. I hate the fact that I now know my 05 Durango gets dismal gas milage. I actually already knew that but now I know exactly how dismal it is. NIcely done interface but I too wish you didn't have to use the wheel to select how many gallons you put in. It'd also be nice if the gallons went to the second decimal but I can live with the way it is now. I'll also seconed the request for a notes field for service. I used this app to track milage and gas expense on a recent cross country trip and it works great! I highly recommend it.

Very Nice. I've used this for about a year now. I have to say, the point of the new "Pit Stop" feature is lost on me, and I'm still struggling with a GPS tracker that won't turn off, even after I quit the program. Can that bug be ironed all the way out? My other two suggestions are minor data-entry ones. First, if the program is going to allow me to input my current mileage in tenths of a mile, then it should base its calculations on that number or round up or down as needed. As it is it always rounds DOWN. "103.8" miles becomes "103" in the Entries list. Second, I already have a gas-price tracking program, GasBuddy. It is very comprehensive and I don't need another app to do the same thing. But one thing that GB does that Car Care doesn't is correctly assume the ending of every gas price in the US to end in ".9". I should at least have the option to enter only "3.65" and have the program go ahead and turn it into "3.659" for me. Otherwise a very useful and user-friendly app.

Annoying scroller for liquid volume. The interface, requiring you to scroll through the volume with a single spinner, is incredibly annoying. Might be okay for gallons, but for people using liters, it can take a couple of minutes to scroll from a small amount to a large amount, like from 10 liters to 65. This is unbelievably frustrating, not just for me, but for the people waiting behind me. I've sat there, with people angry behind me, trying desperately to get to the right number, because it can take so long to scroll through a large range. I wouldn't mind the wheel interface if you could select each column separately, but this current approach is absurd. Also, the records always show "partial" fill even if you select full fillup.

All you need.. Pros: Create more than one car Get info in either mpg or L/100KM or other conversion, which is nice when European used to the different system. Get filling location automatically Reporting is interesting. Not sure I care about CO2 emission based on my fuel usage, but it doesn't hurt. I haven't checked all the features, but they seem pretty good so far. Emailing feature of reports is very useful. Cons: I didn't know first I could enter the location. The screen isn't too clear about what you can do from it. Odometer, price fuel, quantity fuel is clear, but the date if you have to enter previous information, and entering the location is not intuitive. Once you know it is there, no problem. I am not sure how I'll enter the location of my holiday fuel stations as what you see is a map of the local area you are in... I'll get there sometime I guess. Overall: Good price for the tool. Nice features

Amazing! Very customizable, very easy to use and extremely informative. I was hesitant to pay for this app with so many free ones out there that basically do the the same thing. My judgment could not have been more wrong. This app is incredible. Extremely flexible and customizable, even to a point that you can edit the currency of your purchase. Quite important for me since I pay in all sorts of currencies when I travel. Also any of the entries can be edited at a later time, even a location where you filled up (its recorded automatically when you add an entry) can be modified. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to keep track of their vehicles expenses.

Best Car App in the Store. Car Care is a step above other car and mileage apps in the app store. Not only does it track your mileage, but it keeps a complete record of all your scheduled services, repairs, and maintenance, as well as costs for all of it. This is especially true now that the developer has planned custom maintenance entries. Other apps are only interested in tracking mileage, or only use a simple list. But Car Care is a complete record of everything done to your car. It has a smooth, friendly interface and even includes graphs which are both useful and fun. Finally, I'm most impressed with the developer. He's truly interested in what his users have to say, and is dedicated to making an app which meets their needs. Buy this app and he won't disappoint.

Good Application & Great Support. This is the best application that monitors your vehicles maintenace history and calculates MPG. While its is one of the more expensive apps that does this, it is well worth the money. The developer is extremely responsive to any requests. The day I purchased it, I emailed him and requested a few features in an upcoming build and he responded within a few hours. The developer is more than willing to listen to feedback to improve his product for his customers. In my mind, that makes this a 5 star application

Good but needs a few changes still.. Several recent updates but still no ability to select multiple categories for services. If you have a major service involving several items, you have to enter each one individually. Tedious. Also needs user definable options for mileage and gas price. No modern car today has tenths on the odometer (trip yes but not odometer). Adding entries requires you to delete tenths just to get to mileage. Unnecessary. Same with gas prices. I don't know of any U.S. Station that doesn't price gas with 9/100ths. So why not have that as a default and save the user from repeatedly having to enter it every time.

Great, will be Greater with updates. After checking out all the other car apps this was the one I purchased, and I don't regret it. Yes, a few things will be better after updates, but based on the rapid and respectful reply from the developer when I wrote with my suggestions, I expect that he WILL come through with the improvements. Things I love: The charts, which give a nice graphical take on the lists, the service entries and reminders, the cute custom photo of my car, the UI. Things needed: date and location entries, ability to roll the odometer backwards (I find it easier to flick down than up when scrolling through the numbers), ability to edit saved entries (which he said is coming). Extra bonus - the price point.

Great App For Intended Use. Tracks MPG and various maintenance items (oil, tire balance and rotation and a few more) for up to 4 vehicles. Best feature is that you set the mileage the first time you use it for a particular function. Then all you need do is enter the subsequent mileage the next time the service is performed and it does the caculations for you. Sweet!. Most people will probably use it for the MPG function. It's a great tool to determine which brand/type of gas provides the best mileage assuming your driving percentage is consistent city or highway and doesn't vary too much day to day.

A lot of potential!. Car Care is a great little application to help track vehicle maintenance and gas mileage. The user interface for this application is extremely well thought out and easy to use. Adding my first vehicle and fill-up was quick and easy. I would like to see the ability to view/edit data on a website via a PC - this could allow users to customize some graphs (start/end dates, etc); as well as print out a record for when the vehicle is sold. After playing with the application for awhile, I noticed you can add user-defined makes and models (by clicking on the + sign in the make or model menu). This allowed me to add my Kawasaki ZX-6 to Car Care. This little application is off to a great start, I look forward to future updates.

Not a Bad way to start. This application is a little more well rounded and polished then some of the other automotive apps. I have not had any performance or stability issues while playing with it and I have entered several data points. It lets you enter the odometer reading for each type of service and has a nice graph of MPG and fuel cost over time. If you go to the author's site there is a nice screen cast that can let you see what this app can do. The author also mentions some coming features as well. Not bad for a 1.0 release. As for the price I felt that if the author delivers on all the promises in the demo video this app could grow into its cost.

Just what I was looking for.... Been using Car Care now for a couple of months and have found it to be extremely useful, especially after the last couple of updates. The only minor annoyance I've had with this app is using the import function via the developer's website. If you import some of the same data twice, it doesn't detect and warn you of duplicate entries. On the plus side, the developer was VERY responsive when offered some feedback on the issue and he assured me that it would be fixed in a future update. Again, this minor issue does not detract from the overall functionality of the application itself. Initially I was considering giving the app a 4 star rating for this one issue but because of the responsivness of the developer, I'm giving it 5 stars.

Working out great.. I've had this app since the very early version and there were some little annoying bugs. It works really well but was just a bit annoying because of little bugs. I started to look for other apps that might be able to do it better than this app and they just were not up to par. They all had clunky input methods and the polish was no where near. Karl finally got his latest version out and so far all the little bugs seem to have been squashed. It was a great app before with some minor little glitches but now it us just an awesome app that is working great. I have faith in the guy to keep adding to this app and his support is stellar.

Great Potential some issues. This is a great app and after some small fixes it should be well worth the money. Right now, my gas fill ups are not saving regularly. After editing them they don't seem to order themselves by date but rather by last edited. When coming back into the app it didn't save the changes I made from the night before. I'm sure most of these issues will be addressed in up coming updates and when this app has been perfected it should be able to save you money so you can see your habits easily and your maintenance schedule. Being able to save multiple vehicles is awesome too. Wait for some updates maybe but I think this is a great one for the people that like to keep up with there cars.

Hands-down, the most useful app on my phone. hard to believe the most useful app i own cost so little - especially since it protects one of my most expensive purchases. a lifesaver for my scheduled maintenance reminders (i tend to forget things), and with all the data trends, i know what my vehicle is costing me and for long trips i can even determine how much time we waste during stops. one of the very first apps i ever bought and despite the hundred or so i have since then (that i seldom use), this one remains among the most valuable. quality support too!

Useful but limited. I don't know about the average car owner, but I am a car enthusiast. That means I do most of the work myself, whether it's an oil change or a cooling system overhaul. I want a lot of flexibility in the details of my record keeping. This program comes with service categories, and you can add sub categories, but you can't delete anything. I made a mistake on a record, then added the correct record, but could not remove the original record. The service sub category screen is so small, only a small part of it is viewable when adding a record. Having a section called the "garage" would be nice, like most car forums have on the internet. Then I could load up all my modofications and costs into the program. Maybe it's just me, but this program is too simple for my tastes. Too bad becasue I already paid the $4.99 and loaded all my tune up & oil change records into it.

UnResponsive customer service.. I left my previous review at the bottom of this new review to show that I am an impartial reviewer. I had previously good experience with the author reformatting my data reimportation as the website frequently chokes on large data sets. After my most recent import attempt however I was promised a response and then received no reply to my subsequent emails. It would appear to me that this software is no longer supported. I have since found an alternate which is superior in design and implementation "road trip" I would encourage othersto avoid this app unless an update is released demonstrating a commitment to continue support. At this time however, I would consider this app unsupported. Had a problem with importing data. Emailed author. He fixed problem immediately. Wonderful service!

Good, but slightly lacking. this app is great for tracking your gas mileage on several cars as well as keeping a log of services you've had done on your car(s). it will let you know when you need an oil change and other basic servicing. i drive a big suv and its fuel tank is big enough that when i have to enter the number of gallons i put in the tank, using the scroll wheel takes a while. if i could just enter the number in a standard blank field, i would give this app 5 stars. you can even store a picture of your vehicle to distinguish between multiple vehicles you have or in your household... great work!

Powerful import/export capability. I was looking for a mileage app which supported import/export after I found out my old one did not have this feature, and I came across this one. It's the real thing, and then some. Want to import a large list of existing entries into the app? Load in a couple of entries manually, then email the export file to yourself. If you're comfortable with using a spreadsheet, it's quite easy to then edit that file and add all of your entries. The app will then walk you through the import process to get the data back in again. I had no idea the import/export was so powerful - I had manually entered 6 entries. It would have been faster if I had used the spreadsheet edit option. Next time! I can't recommend this app highly enough for anyone that actually wants to export all of their mileage data in a spreadsheet-compatible file.

Frustrating. I just tried using the app again, now I'm upset I just wasted my money. Not only did the app lose all my vehicle I formation, it changed the picture of my vehicle. Save your money! Original review below. Interesting concept however poorly executed. App crashes often. Did a hard restart of my iPhone 4S, that did not help. Still experience random crashes. Another problem, for some reason the app does not save some the information you enter. For instance, I was entering information for vehicle maintenance that I did, after I hit save, the odometer reset back to zero. Another instance, all my notes just disappeared for all my entries. As you can imagine, very frustrating. There is no drop box or iCloud support. Don't get me wrong, the app looks pretty, unfortunately doesn't function as advertised. Therefore, rendering it useless. I was looking for something that would replace my spreadsheet on my home computer, I guess I need to continue looking. On a side note, Apple should institute a try it before you buy it policy. If I uninstall the app within 30 minutes of purchase, I should not be charged for it. This would ensure much better app development, and much happier customers. I have no problem paying for an app as long as it functions as advertised. I get upset if I pay for an app that doesn't work and just randomly crashes.

Pretty good app - has a lot of features and potential. I looked at the competitors and this one seemed to have the most features. It works pretty well, I use it to track 3 different vehicles. I wanted an app that graphs my mpg, graphs fuel costs and supports multiple vehicles. This does it all. The downsides are that the Graphs look OK, not the same fantastic graphics you see on other iPhone apps. The data entry has some quirks, for example scrolling from 0-9 goes only in one direction so if you need to change a zero to a nine you have to scroll down 9 spots -- seems like you could just bump up one spot to the nine. Overall it's pretty good, and would expect these details to get ironed out in future releases.

The only app of its kind. I have been using this application since its debut in the App Store. The developer is VERY responsive to suggestions and feedback. I can tell the developer has put, and continues to put, a lot of effort into this app. I'm looking forward to the updates that are on the horizon, and think this app is a bargain at its current price. I paid almost $20 for a similar app when I was using a Treo. Grab it while you still can at this price. I don't think it will be this cheap for long!

Keep a Backup of Your Information. The app works great - very convenient for recording the information while you are at the pump. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but when I received my first update after installing the app, all of my information about the car was wiped out and it thanked me for purchasing the app. I thought this may have been a fluke, but when I updated it today, it did the same thing. I'm still going to use the app, but I will be going back to recording my gas mileage the way I did before purchasing the app, using the iPod Touch Notes, Calculator, and Calendar for reminders. If this is happening to anyone else, the developers need to be aware of this. I usually download my updates from the iPod Touch over the WiFi rather than through my computer at home, in case this may make a difference in how the previous information is backed up during updates. Great Service-. To me, a great product means great service and Car Care's developer provided me just that. I had a problem upgrading my 3G to 3G[S] and contacted Car Care and was back on track with all data transferred in a matter of minutes. The response to my inquiry was lightning quick, accurate and concerned. Just has been my experience with Apple in regards to my MacBook Pro- I highly recommend Car Care not just for its functionality but for the most important customer satisfaction. Can't be beat.

Just what I was looking for!. I had been hoping to find an app that would replace what I had been using on my Palm; this seems to be it. The data import process, while not trivial, did work and I pulled in information of over 100 gas fill-ups from the other platform. Data entry appears to be pretty easy and straightforward and the service reminders are more than adequate for me. The author was quick to respond to a question I had and based on other reviews, he's willing and able to fix and upgrade his program as users require. Easily worth the cost of a Starbuck's coffee!

Ok program, could use some improvements. Get rid of the stupid scroll wheel for the gallons. Most people want a little more accuracy. The gallons should go out to at least 2 decimel points. Not a single gas receipt prints out 1 decimal point. Try to match what you will actually get on a receipt. The cost per gallon should go out to 3 decimal points. The odometer should allow you to put in the tenths of a mile. All of these oversites make for inacurate output. Sometimes of up to a mile and a half on the mpg. This can easily be checked with a excel spreadsheet. You would think for $4.99 you would get a little more accuracy. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future. For now I run two programs on my iphone. The other is way more accurate. I only keep running this one in hopes they will add the accuracy in future updates. Not holding my breath though. Haven't seen any updates. Typical take the money and run. If you are looking for accurate numbers look elsewhere.

Best program to track vehicle stats. I've been using this app for over a year now with my Nissan Pathfinder, Kawasaki KLR 650 and my work vehicle to track cost, mpg stats, and keep track of service (oil changes tire rotation and cost of operation). I've used it every time I fill up or do service on my vehicle and it's great. I'm able to track my fuel costs and performance of my vehicle, map where i get fuel most often and it reminds me of when service is due. Just a great tool for your iPhone and I'd highly recommend it if you are into keeping your vehicle operation costs in check.

Still needs minor work, but good attempt. Has desirable set of features. Was needing an app with car maintenance scheduler and fuel economy tracker. Good interface and set of info. Will keep app in hopes minor bug will be fixed. Has database problem, but could be fixed, which would make it an excellent app. On first run of app, Entered 2 fuel entries, displayed proper mpg. Closed app, th re-opened. Previous mpg was displayed, but secon fuel entry was gone. Also car I own has been out since 2009, but is not in your database, Kia Soul. Please add way to enter unlisted vehicles, at least as an "unlisted" vehicle. That will allows users to add new vehicles you don't yet have, until your database is updated. Also you could allows users to add new vehicles, and have notify you of new vehicles. Please fix bug and update, I do look forward to using when problems are corrected. I am giving 3 stars due to good interface, and good overall approach. I took away 2 stars due to bug, and car database needing updating. Otherwise it is deserving of 5 stars,if not for the 2 bugs. Wait for upgraded version. I downloaded Car Care and put it to immediate use, since my car was in need of an oil change. It's a very well conceived program, and it will even graph gas mileage over time. However, this version is not fully developed. For example, when I entered the mileage at the time of the oil change, I made an error and could not correct it, since this version does not permit any editing of entries (it said the new version would). It would also not permit me to enter the cost of the oil change. Accordingly, my advice for anyone interested in this program is to wait for the new version. In its current form it has some serious missing elements.

Car Care 1.xx. The previous version to this upgrade was pretty bad. There is no point in my continuing with this product. The stated metaphor by the author of the software is how it compares to paper records (similar to a journal kept for tracking fuel and repair records). Here is how this stacks up in my opinion. Problems with this product on iPhone 3G version 2.2.1 software - Doesn't run, crashes. Problems with this product on iPhone 3G version 2.1 software (and earlier) - No way to share history of fuel to the desktop. - No way to see records or add to records of fuel purchases when adding previous purchases. - No way to see maintenance record entries. - No way to add previous records (previous dates). - No way to track costs and/or assign to categories of repair. - No way to compare vehicles' maintenance between each other. - No output of repair, fuel use history.

Great App. I've used Car Care for several years. During that time I've recorded data for three cars and a motorcycle and never had an issue. The only complaint I've ever had was I thought I was going to have to pay for it a second time when I upgraded my iPhone. But once the upgrade began, the App Store figured out I had already paid and reinstalled it again My only wish is that the data backed up online so that I wouldn't have to worry about losing it if my iPhone were to crash.

Great first couple versions; little room for improvement. I got this app when it first came out and it was a little rough around the edges but showed great promise. I contacted the author about some suggestions and my thoughts on the app. He was very receptive to user input and ways to improve it (feature-wise or interface). Since then he has been steadily adding useful features and interface tweaks to improve the app. If Car Care doesn't do exactly what you want right now, check back and he may have just added the feature you were looking for. Or better yet, contact him. He may already be working on just that feature. I use Car Care for tracking my two cars and motorcycle. I find it immensely useful. I'm giving it 4 stars because it is a very good app, is very useful now and has a lot of potential to be a great car maintenance and mpg tracker.

Great App for Tracking Fuel and Maintenance. Car Care is really a great app for keeping a log of everything vehicle related. The maintenance menu items are very customizable and you can set up custom alerts so you'll always know when maintenance is needed. Car Care makes keeping track of multiple vehicles a breeze. I highly recommend this app for anyone who does a lot of their own vehicle maintenance but it would also be great for tracking fuel mileage alone. All the data entry screens are easy to use and quick to get to, so it takes very little time to track fuel consumption.

Good Product; good support. This is a well-done, thoughtful and useful app. I've had a lot of fun in the new App Store, but as a frugal fellow, I must note that this is the ONLY app for which I have paid. It is well worth the money and then some. Additionally, the developer is very responsive. In a same-day response the developer indicated he might be adding some of the service items mentioned by my shop and that customization is coming also. While I look forward to successive updates, this app is already a functional and useable app.

Bad quality.. This app consistently fails to edit entries correctly. If you have to change any part of the gas or service entry, it will randomly clear all or parts of the fields on the edit screen, then refuse to save the fixed data on the screen. This is pretty sad as programming 101 tells you to put it in the screen when you enter the screen, then save it all when they press the save button. Someone wasted their time on UI/graphics and forgot how to do the simple brain dead stuff. It also crashes when scrolling down the vehicle stats screen, so you better not care about any stats at the bottom of that page. Why? Seems like some hotshot probably decided to start reading the details for one of the sub screens when that menu choice became visible on the screen and was not bright enough to put in catch block for exceptions. Since I only had 2 service entries, I assume he did not bother to test with partial data sets. Who was managing these rookies? Sigh.

Good App - Could use some tweaks.... I bought this app to eliminate the pile of gas pump reciepts that I keep in my car with hand written mpg calculations on the back. It's definitely better than that, but it could use a few tweaks. I have noticed some of the glitches that other reviewers have mentioned like a new gas fill being logged as a partial tank when I swear I've touched full tank. I also think there must be a better way to input the amount of fuel. In addition to putting the whole number and the fraction on separate wheels, it would also help if instead of starting at 2.2, it could default to the amount you last entered on the previous fill up. Or just start at a higher, more reasonable number. I'd also like to be able to enter my own service types for both reminders and new service entries. Like, changing the air filter. Even with the items mentioned above, it's a good app. It just has some more room for improvement.

Only just purchased this app. Will try it out over the next few months. The only thing that scares me is sinking all the time and effort to track the data only to lose it. I see that there is an import/export feature, but it seems very dated. I implore the developer to look into some sort of account type service. Something that will automatically sync any entries to the cloud, allow updating through a browser and easily re-sycing with any iOS device with a simple login. It's the way most apps like this work. Data trapped inside the iPhone and not backed up to an account with service attached is doomed to fail with time. The app seems really cool. Please look into moving to an account based service. Thanks!

An Excellent Full Featured Application. Shaping up to be a very useful utility, with an excellent feature set ....Version 1.1 added a notes field, ability to add historical gas data into the app, ability to export data and soon to import data from the web site. This is an important feature if you value the historical trends and don't want to lose data (you can always transfer it to an excel spreadsheet). Karl, the developer, has been exceptionally responsive on multiple occasions (within a few minutes, but then he was probably on line) and helpful if you have any questions. Suggestions are taken seriously, and Karl will include them in future updates; examples are input options for total cost of fill, option to use the keyboard for numerical entry (rather than the "wheel"), etc. If you enter some historical data, then the graph provides a cool view of the mileage and gas pricing trend......keep up the good work
