Douglas. It took several tries to load my favorite airports, but with patience and numerous tries, I had success. The download site showed images of IFR and Sectional charts. Finding the charts is not immediately intuitive. There is a "charts" button on the bottom of the screen. This is to access weather charts only. To access nav charts, one must first select an airport, then select a METAR report. On the METAR page one can then select a variety of charts associated with that airport. The weather aspect seems to work fine. The "nearest" function was slick and also provides a quick link to add these to "favorites." Another handy function is that when having selected a specific airport, one can push a "call AWOS" button to hear the current report. One can also select an AFD (Airport Facilities Directory) to view a variety of additional information. Now, if it would only show the current fuel prices!

CFII. Great app! I am a flight instructor and I use this for every flight. Being able to review the sectional and IFR charts, weather maps and approach charts for myself or with students is a huge plus. This app is worth every cent. The only minor bugs I come across is the cancel button does not work and old indentifiers not updated like F29 is now KRCE and has ASOS which this app doesn't find. Other than that a great app I would recommend to all pilots.

Great App!. USAF Pilot here. Recent updates have made this already amazing app even better. METARs, TAFs, NOTAMs, Airfield Diagrams & Approaches, Sectional Charts, AWOS, winds aloft...the list goes on and on. I recently discovered a small bug in the program. I emailed their customer support (from within the app) on a Saturday afternoon. Within 3 hours they wrote back...they fixed it and submitted the fix to Apple. Update should arrive soon. NOW that is customer support!!! As a USAF pilot, I'm not allowed to use this app as my sole means of weather info. However, it's an excellent tool to gain added SA prior to the weather brief. Because this information is universal, I'm already ahead of the game after the official weather brief. If you are a serious aviator and have an iPhone or iPad...I highly recommend this app. I promise, it's the best flying related app for your iDevice. Developers: Excellent job, keep it up! If I could give more stars I would!"

good app room for improvement. I'm a student pilot and I find this app very useful. There are a couple of things that I would like to see change though. Lots of work on the E6B feature. One major change i'd like to see is in the Density altitude. It only lets you input temperature in Farenheight. Most weather reports are given in Celcius. But everyone has mentioned different things about the E6B that need work. It would be nice to save a template for weight and balance. One other thing I'd like to see with weather is Winds aloft. and maybe more variety in the charts. another handy thing to see on here would be ZULU time since almost all things aviationare refered to by this measurment of time! For what it's worth though I like the App and I use it all the time planning flights and even at work as a flight attendant when people ask about weather at their destination.

You get what you pay for I guess. Very clunky to use. It sometimes crashes when trying to view approach plates and also intermittently hangs while I'm guessing its trying to get the weather. If this is version 1.9 I'd hate to imagine what version 1.0 was like. Fixing the crashes/hanging will definitely help, though. I also can't give any good review on the support, I have sent an email twice regarding these issues and have never gotten a response.

Great Aviation App. I have used this app for 3 months and it is a very helpful tool in preflight as well as up to date data. I can request WX and receive it quicker than in the cockpit using AFIS. I can't think of anything I would change or improve upon. This is one of my most used apps.

Great app! Great updates!. Constantly updated to add features, perfectly stable program. As an airline captain, my favorite is the radar images page. Great for getting METARs, TAFs and national/regional radar images. Haven't used the E6B function yet and don't play with the Nearest Airport button except just to see the private fields close by. Great tool though for getting a snapshot of the weather every leg, especially on days when the hubs are shut down for storms...

Good Start. This is a pretty good start at a very useful app. I really like the interface, and the author seems to have incorporated a lot of suggested upgrades. As others have said, it really needs Graphical TFR's/NOTAMS and a zoom/pan function for the charts. The icing on the cake would be a simple flight planning tool such as can be found on the actual Sky Vector website. It would be great to see this eventually become a full one-stop pre-flight planning tool.

Notams. Nice app. Notams not downloading for the last couple of days.. fix pls

TOTALLY AWESOME!!!. This app is an incredible bargain. I work as a flight instructor and have tried other apps similiar to this and ForeFlight is really the only other app that comes close, and it has a hefty price tag. (I think $75 or something ridiculous like that) I can't wait for the update to be able to zoom and swipe the sectional and low-enroute charts! You can still do this with the current version you just have to press a button instead of swiping and pinching. The approach plates look great and you are able to swipe and pinch zoom in and out with them already! FANTASTIC APP! Keep up the great work! Once pinching and swiping is available for all charts this app will be severely underpriced in my opinion!

Very useful. I was surprised to find that this app was very detailed in the information it provides. Not only do you get the latest weather information but you also get an airport directory, E6B calculator, sectional charts and the list goes on. For this price, it is definetaly a good purchase.

What were you thinking? 3.0. It takes a special kind of developer to replace a near perfect app with an update that lacks half the features of the previous version and admit that it lacks those features in the app with a note that also says "We're working on it. Don't contact us. We are aware." If you are aware enough to put a note in the update then DON'T RELEASE THE UPDATE!!! Are you high? Also if you are leaning on their plain text description, don't. In 3 minutes of use (including the time it took to reload all my favorited airports,, thanks for that as well) I already saw that TEMPO groups are not included. I would spend time looking for other deficiencies but I'm too busy looking at the abundant number of other aviation weather apps to decide which to replace this one with. Very disappointed after years of happiness with your product.

Awesome app worth the price. For a student pilot who lives 45 minutes away from the airport I fly at, this app can be a great tool. All I have to do is pull out my phone and I instantly have the weather. For the quality of the application, the price is definitely worth it.

PPC 1. Nice app.... but for some reason, I keep loosing the wind speed aloft portion !!

Good content poor user interface. The program could be more useful if: 1. The pan & zoom functions are consistent with Apple's user interface. 2. To get the airport's weather condition, you need to make two selections. A good example to follow is the nice user interface from the Aerowsather. The top page shows the current airports' VFR, IFR and one selection will display all the metar, taf.

GREAT APP! GOOD INVESTMENT. First app I have purchased. Active duty military aviator. Read all the reviews on this one and jumped in while stock price still low.. The outlook looks positive and current functionality is well worth the price at $5. Encouraged by apparent responsive developer. Recommended updates: Minors: 1. Access metars/tafs on same page and allow scroll down, vice seperate buttons for individual pages to go back-and-forth (awkward). Could still keep seperate button to pireps. 2. Provide access to notams via dins internet service. 3. Would be nice to list metars/tafs for a series of airfields (favorites). Same for notams. This is helpful when reviewing suitable alternates. 4. Change airfield "Maps" button name to "Charts" button for access to VFR/IFR charts. Majors: 1. Zoom in more for greater resolution on wx radar. 2. Pan & zoom charts. "Majors" don't suggest a flaw, but only what I would consider to be extensive software development. Great job so far. Well worth it, keep up the good work and I will surely demo to others.

Useful app. I like it; very handy app. The ability to zoom in on the weather charts is sorely lacking, though - the entire US compressed into 2 inches does me little good. Like the option to call the AWOS, nice integration there. Also the ability to pan the sectionals combined with the phone's location determination a la Google maps might be very cool.

Great Application & Very USeful. I love this App. I especially love the constant, and useful, upgrades. I think it is the most useful app I have bought so far. I cannot wait for future upgrades to come along. I am a programmer and a student pilot. I love the addition of the basic e6b functions.

Finally! It just works .... While there are certainly other aviation apps out there serving every level of critical weather analysis, few display the simple “where, wind, weather” status as well as this does. I wouldn't change a thing.

Very efficient. You get a lot for you $ with this app. Its layered with easy to understand information for multiple airports with minimal navigation within the program. It gets better with every update.

Great app. I have had this app for years. It has never crashed on me. I use it all the time whether im flying or not it has been my favorite weather app. I dont have the purchased version so cant comment on it but i have been very pleased and never had any problems with it, hope im not jinxing myself :)

A fantastic start!. This is a fantastic program that is exactly as advertised--it gives a pilot METARs. The author seems to have experience with other features (e.g. TAFs, Radar, Airport Info, etc.) using mobile phone browser technology; I trust he will bring this experience to this phenomenal new iPhone platform so that pilots, like me, will benefit. This program, even though it only checks METARs now is worth every bit of 2 whole dollars. It will be worth more when he adds the other features. There is no reason he should spend his time working on delivering these benefits to us for free. Another reviewer questioned why people who haven't purchased the programs are allowed to write reviews. It's a good question. But I didn't see where that reviewer actually said anything meaningful about this particular program, a review he was actually supposed to be writing. Did you like it? Well, I did. It's wonderfully simple, useful, and I look forward to more from this author and others like him.

Great app. I was one of the first to buy this app when it was first released. I use it on every flight. I'm an instructor and recommend this app to anyone that flys. This is truly a must have.

Very useful - Please add iPad version. This is a very useful app - as an air traffic controller, I can say that it's better than what the FAA gives us to access weather at any field other than our own primary airport. (Yes, I know, our airport must be in the dark ages, but nobody wants to spend a dime on our place.) Plus, it has access to maps, charts, etc. I would love it if an iPad version was available, so as to take advantage of the full real estate of the screen, without making it grainy when just using the "2x" button.

Not happy. I think i wasted $10. I expected that the Wx (nexrad) would appear over the sectional. This is not the case. Also, when you load a sectional or try to zoom or move around, it takes a REALLY long time. There are other integrated flight systems out there that do a much better job. This app would be great if I could get NEXRAD overlayed over the sectional. This is what I thought I was getting. Dissapointing. Sorry !

Just okay. Too slow for iPhone. I've had this app now for a most two years. After each app upgrade, the app seems to work slower and slower. Sometimes it takes so long to retrieve data, that I've given up all together and just called the local ASOS number. I have the latest iPhone and it continues to be a slow app. I've switched to another aviation weather app that is lightening fast, with no b.s. This on has the potential to be great with its easy features, but it just drags. This is unacceptable when in the flight line to get a last minute and up to speed wx check.

Glad your back. Happy to see that whatever issue you were having has been resolved. As a supervisor of a group of air ambulance pilots I have been using and recommending air wx since I signed on over 3 years ago. Great app does exactly what we need.

Not really worth it. The primary function for which I bought this app (the e6b) is very limited - It has no fuel calculations, and it does not calculate wind correction angle or ground speed. (Its wind calculation can only find wind speed and direction given airspeed, ground speed, heading, and course.) Thus, it really lacks the most basic e6b functionality. The weather functionality is all available on the developer's website for free. The only reason to get this app is for the A/FD and terminal charts (if you don't have an AOPA membership and thus can't use their Airports app). The interface is intuitive though. Many thanks to the iTunes Store Support for their assistance!

Reodering. This is a great application for the price. I can easily and quickly check METARS, TAFs, and PIREPS without having to wait for my PC to boot. Ability to view weather charts is a big plus also. I can then make decisions on cancelling or changing flights. The only anomally I have encountered with this interim release is the reordering function; reordering either duplicates or removes airports that I have already added to my favorites. I am using this on an iPhone3GS. Hopefully, this will be resolved either in an interim release or v2.0. Kudos....

Quite a Handful for Your $10. While the METAR/TAF and E6B functions can also be found elsewhere, only AirWX gives you: (1) surface wx and radar maps; (2) PIREPs; (3) sectional and IFR charts; (4) terminal procedures, aka approach plates; and (5) AFD info. That's quite a handful for your $10, don't you think? The developer, Felix Khazin, responds to feature suggestions and says he is working on improvements, such as ability to access data offline. Be patient.

Human. I'm so glad this app is working again! I'm a professional pilot and used this app all the time. It quit working for a long time. I tried other apps but this one does exactly what I want. Great for quickly and easily pulling up weather and notams without any nonsense.

Very helpful. Was skeptical before buying, I had read a few bad reviews for this app on iTunes, then I realized they were from 2008. Decided the $10 was worth a shot for this app, considering a year subscription to a competing app was clocking in at $75. Very convenient to add airports and get a METAR or TAF weather report, with a nice icon summary for VFR, IFR, etc. Then I dug into the app a bit more and found they have the sectional I wanted (NY), and airport maps even. There is a bunch of other stuff for IFR (not IFR certified myself yet), so I can't comment yet on its helpfulness. Point is, I like it.

For 2 bucks you dont need much more. It does what it says it should, and does it well. We've had a bad summer for flying were i live, and its nice to have the metars available so convieniently. The nearby airports function works good, i imagine that would be very useful when you're in unfarmiliar teritory.

NOTAMS. NOTAMS were wrong. Way out of date.

Works Well. This app works well and does as it says. I'm looking forward to new features (such as TAF and local/regional radar). Otherwise a solid app that allows me quick access to very useful information. Why are people complaining about the price? If you want the info. for free watch the WX channel or call flight service. If you want the convenience of having the info. in your pocket pony up the two bucks. Feature Request - I'd like to be able to customize the METAR display, some information I don't care to see (such as Lat. and Lon.)

Ridiculous!. Items that were once features were removed by the new developer six months ago. We complained. Now those items are back as IAPs... and we're supposed to rejoice our good fortune?!? No thanks.

My My ... GREAT!. I have only been a pilot since 1976, oh, that is a couple years... Ouch! Must be getting old; I thought it was a couple weeks! Ok, if you are a pilot and have an iPhone. DON'T MISS THIS APP! I have not seen a better tool that is this new in development in my 32+ years as a pilot. The 4 stars is only because it is new and growing. Could get a 10 the way it is going. A MUST HAVE. Yes; you can get this info other places, some on an iPhone but it is so easy and all right here. Let's support the development! Keep up the good work! Thank You! Ken PS, Maybe you can do a better iPhone keyboard after you are done here.

Great.....Just Great!!!!. For the price, this is the best aviation app for the Ipod or iphone. It is being updated almost every week it seems with news features. You actually have access to AFD's, METARS, TAF's, Sectional and IFR enroute views of each of the selected airports. It is just simply amazing.

Amazing. I own WX and a few other great flying apps for iPhone but to have a near seamless and zoomable sectional is AWESOME complete with your gps location on top. Great job! Any option to add terminal charts in the future? And also already love the favorite airports, great to quickly see how the day is looking to go fly.

Great app for aviators. The application works as advertised, and is very useful. The favorites feature lets you add the airports you care about, and it is quick and easy to get the weather, charts, and plates for any airport you want. The nearest feature is really nice too.

Air Wx. This is a great product and the support is wonderful. I review it daily and it is a quick reference to alot of items. I look forward to the future improvements that will make it even better. Every pilot should have this app.

Worth it. Great app. As a military 130 guy the only thing I would like to see is a winds aloft chart for the country at FL180, 240 and 300, probably throw in some lower and higher flight levels to make everyone else happy. With the winds aloft in there i would have given it 5 stars. But all in all great app, looking forward to the next update.

It's back and the new upgrade is awesome. Great app for serious pilots. The dashboard concept loads all you favorite airports and in a quick look you can plan a go or no go with VFR/IFR/MVFR, Winds direction and velocity on each airport in realtime. Review your intended flight plan with the dashboard giving you a glimpse then touch each One for all data you need. Naturally you will confirm your route before you file however it's a time saver for flight instructors. It's still a work in progress with charts and maps returning.

Bravo to developer responsiveness. In a recent review (see "Very good: 1 significant annoyance”) I commended several features of this app but had to subtract 2 stars (rating 3 stars) due to the erroneous way that sky condition was reported. Within 24 hours the developer responded with a fix (of sorts). For this responsiveness, and for mostly fixing the bug, I am adjusting my rating to 5. But, note to developer: To report a sky condition with something like “SCT040 OVC050” is just sloppy. In this example it should just be stated in plain words as “Overcast” (i.e. Rule: State the highest cloud condition in plain words). For a truly winning touch you would add a field for ceiling. If only SCT or FEW were present as cloud conditions then the field would be filled with “N/A”. Otherwise, take the lowest condition of BKN and/or OVC (e.g. “BKN040 OVC050” would be “Ceiling: 4,000 ft”). I applaud your response time and hope that you will be able to make these needed improvements

Use it all the time!. Been an airline pilot for 10 years and this is one of the first apps I got when I got my first iPhone. Fast up to date weather. Airports at a glance vfr or ifr and winds. Wx Maps. E6b functions(I don't use to much). Naca charts which you can down load(don't know if they're legal to use). Fantastic!

Best Airport Info App I've seen. Has everything to help do prelim flight planning. It's amazing! It has the VFR & IFR Charts available along with all approach FLIP charts, not to mention all the real time METAR, TAF, PIREP, AvChart and even NOTAM info. The calculation tools are pretty handy as well. Of course, you need the actual FAA approved docs in the plane, but it's a pretty neat preflight tool all around. A nice addition (hint, hint) would be to add a point to point distance calculator to provide the distance between airports, NAVAIDs, or GPS points. All around though, a pretty amazing and useful App!

Great application. I bought this when it first came out. At that time it was very limited, and only did a portion of the things you could easily do in safari using a couple of web sites. Since then, it has been updated with many new features on a frequent basis. There's still lots of features that I would like (graphical TFRs??), so hopefully they will be added over time. Great app for the money.

Great for quick reference. I've used this app for several years and really like it. The interface changed recently (Jan 2017) and although it is esthetically more pleasing the METAR decoder isn't as good. I still recommend it. It gives you the basic information you need at a glance.

Absolutely outstanding. My favorite aviation weather app. I have been using this app for years. As a airline Captain and Line Check Airman this is my “go to” app for aviation weather. I use this to supplement dispatch weather and NOTAMS. This app is user friendly, intuitive and accurate. My strongest recommendation.

Nice features added in version 1.2. This version is nicely done and it does what is says it does. Author implemented what he said he would in 1.2 Once you get the the selected airport it needs to have a button that lets you switch between TAF and METAR for the selected airport rather than having to backup and reselect the airport again in the TAF or METAR screens. Would like to see regional and local radar screens added similar to NOAA Aviation site. Would be nice if you could tilt and resize the charts. The addition of Winds and Temps as well as AIRMETS and SIGMENTS would make this a 5 star app.

AWESOME. If you are a pilot ypu have to get it

Ok.... Not a great product. Very bare bones and does not have very many Canadian airports and wx. A TAF function would be nice to see as well

Great Aviation App. I have used this app for 3 months and it is a very helpful tool in preflight as well as up to date data. I can request WX and receive it quicker than in the cockpit using AFIS. I can't think of anything I would change or improve upon. This is one of my most used apps.

AMAZING. Im working on my CFI. I have downloaded just about every possible weather app. This is by far the best aviation app out there. Definitely worth every penny! Tons of useful CURRENT information. VERY IMPRESSED!!!

Fantastic. Awesome app for all pilots, breaks down raw weather reports into easy to read sections. I love it and have had it for barely an hour :D

Air Wx. This is a great product and the support is wonderful. I review it daily and it is a quick reference to alot of items. I look forward to the future improvements that will make it even better. Every pilot should have this app.

Works about 50% of the time. I have used this app for several years and have recommended it to many pilots. However, over the last year the App doesn't open on the IPad about 75% of the time and on the IPhone it doesn't open about 25% of the time. In other words, it is no longer a reliable weather app.

iPhone 4. Please fix the pixel setting to the new resolution of the iPhone 4. It looks terrible. But other than that I love it and use it mostly everyday

My My ... GREAT!. I have only been a pilot since 1976, oh, that is a couple years... Ouch! Must be getting old; I thought it was a couple weeks! Ok, if you are a pilot and have an iPhone. Excellent. Excellent app. Does everything it claims and more. Worthwhile for every pilot. Would be even better if sectional charts moved and expanded with normal iPhone gestures, rather than old-fashioned arrows.

Great app!. Great app! Lots of info in one package. Can't go wrong getting this app. Wish it had EHA's also. Problem with cancel tab. Will not activate consistantly when touched on the iPhone.

Human. I'm so glad this app is working again! I'm a professional pilot and used this app all the time. It quit working for a long time. I tried other apps but this one does exactly what I want. Great for quickly and easily pulling up weather and notams without any nonsense.

Great app. I was one of the first to buy this app when it was first released. I use it on every flight. I'm an instructor and recommend this app to anyone that flys. This is truly a must have.

Frequent Crashes. I like most most everything about the app but it crashes a lot when loading sectional maps. I don't know about this new price either, I swear I only paid $3.99.

Amazing. I own WX and a few other great flying apps for iPhone but to have a near seamless and zoomable sectional is AWESOME complete with your gps location on top. Great job! CFII. Great app! I am a flight instructor and I use this for every flight. Great Application & Very USeful. I love this App. I especially love the constant, and useful, upgrades. I think it is the most useful app I have bought so far. I cannot wait for future upgrades to come along. I am a programmer and a student pilot. I love the addition of the basic e6b functions.

Fantastic!

CFII. Real time radar and TFR would make it perfect. I know the charts are 4 ref only but you can't have the phone on anyway in the cockpit or get a signal (even in airplane mode put it 2 your mag compass). Love it great for flight planing as long as u cross check a FAA

Great for quick reference. I've used this app for several years and really like it. The interface changed recently (Jan 2017) and although it is esthetically more pleasing the METAR decoder isn't as good. I still recommend it. It gives you the basic information you need at a glance.

Best App. Always room for improvements but this app alone makes the iPhone's price worth while. I'd like to see graphical TFR's added. This is by far the best app for iphone period!

Very Not Bad :). For the price, this is a nifty little app. I especially like the map feature but would love to see that zoom and pan feature enabled. Nice job, good first release!

why $9.99. this app is very useful especially for a student pilot like myself. however is now extremely overpriced. I purchased it a few months ago for much, much less.

Excellent App for Active Pilots. I use this app every day. It makes short the time required to understand what is needed to complete a safe flight. One of the top aviation weather related applications.

Solid. Needs a few features though -- eg current position to any airport you select

Old app was better. Old app crashed. The update doesn't have the buttons to just select a report. Now you have to scroll through each one. Not as quick of a resource as the older version. Wait for update.

Great. I'm a CFi and it works great for what I need it for weather for all the surrounding airports at a quick glance easy to pull up charts afd and approaches to go over with students great app.

Great App. This is a really usful and helpful app and on top of that the updates are free and the creator keeps you updated on what is coming in future updates. Oh an it's only $2 compared to $70

It's Alive!. Hello, I have been using this app for several years and I am very happy to see development restart! It already appears to be more stable than ever. The frequent crashes I would get on start seem to have disappeared! One feature I have been looking for in a weather app for ever is the ability to sort airport alphabetically! Just a thought. Thank you for continuing to work and support this app!

?. Well conceived, great support (Felix). Accessing all the info except radar; faster access versus other aviation programs. For the money, can't go wrong.

DON'T BOTHER - SAVE YOUR MONEY!. I would give this app a zero star but it won't let me. It has crashed every time I've opened it. App does not do what the developer claims. No support - I've emailed support a month ago and no response. Very confusing menu system. Way too many steps just to find an airports info! Claims there are IFR charts, but the same VFR sectional loads. Misleading! There is no pinch zoom feature. The radar charts has no animated motion? Very useless! There no way to store your aircraft's information for use with the E6B feature. Once again - Useless! Anyone can get all this info at NOAA or Skyvector for free. Why pay for something that crashes and wastes my time? SAVE YOUR MONEY - DON'T PURCHASE!

Sorry !

MEI & CFII. I always enjoy an update to this program. To our hard working developer: What would make this application a winner would be animated radar and flight plan filing or weather briefing ability. Keep it up! and thank you.

Great App!. I fly for a major airline and use this all the time. I've recommended it many others with iPhone's. The new international airports make in invaluable to me!

Great app. Well worth the 10 bucks. Charts I use are up to date. To the developer(s)- great job putting this together, it is impressive.

Disappointed. I was very happy with this application until I tried using it while in the cockpit at Fl10. I was reminded that this is only as good as long as you can get service on your phone. So the use of all those wonderful bits of info are only good while on the ground. So much for that, I guess the onborad G1000 will still be king. Good planing tool if nothing else is avaliable, if that is so, stay grounded.

Very useful App for any pilot.. Everything a pilot needs to get a clear and accurate picture. Lots of goodies, and responsive customer support. $10 very well spent.

Good iPhone Weather App. Didn't realize the developer did this on his own time as a hobby. An older version was crashing when I clicked on winds aloft. The problem was fixed. Can't wait to see more extra features.

Finally! It just works .... While there are certainly other aviation apps out there serving every level of critical weather analysis, few display the simple “where, wind, weather” status as well as this does. I wouldn't change a thing.

App consistently crashes, avoid this app!. I used to use this app daily due to its user interface and over the past few months the app doesn't open, it immediately crashes. I've gone from an iPhone 5 to a 7 plus from older OS's to newer ones and it does the same thing. My guess is the software hasn't been updated. Regardless, don't waste your money like I did
