EBay: The shopping marketplace Comments & Reviews 2022

- Hate the app update

Ebay has wrecked this app. The easily usable & navigatable app is gone! Ebay has disabled the older version of the app which I really liked and left me with this new version 5.18.0 which I can't stand. There is no user customization anywhere! Now the home page is nothing but suggestions, “deals of the day” & ads, where is my user data? I have saved searches, members & collections which I am not able to set as my home page nor am I able to view anywhere else either. At least on the desktop version I can switch from the home page to the “saved” page but that option doesn’t exist on the app. The “my ebay” page also has no user customization, I would collapse the left hand column while looking at items in my watch, purchased & recently viewed lists, instead the viewing window is only 1/2 the screen while the left hand column just takes up valuable screen space. There are a myriad of other issues I would alter through user customization but I can’t go over all of them here. When Ebay updates their app; give the users, whose sales and purchases finance Ebay, the opportunity to customize their experience. I’ve been an Ebay user for over 16 years and I hope the designers of the Ebay app read these reviews and incorporate the users suggestions into the next round of updates. I won’t be using this app until further updates are made, instead I’ll use the desktop version on my ipad, which is set up with my preferences.

- eBay’s auction failure

What happened to me is not something eBay should let happen to it’s customers! I have been trying to get help for my situation but have found none. I am stuck in a ongoing experience of disappointment and poor customer service all because I won a auction. After winning a auction, ebay will send you a email to say all you have to do is pay and you can receive your item, however, if the seller decides never to ship to item and tries to cancel the sale you will get no message or notification and eBay doesn’t seem to care if you’re waiting for weeks. I have been waiting of over a month for a refund with a uncaring, unprofessional seller who tells me they’re trying to cancel the order but eBay won’t let them. As far as I can tell my seller wishes to cancel the order because they accidentally sold the item to me for less money they wanted to and they are greedy and or don’t understand how auctions work. My seller canceled my sale under “out of stock/damage” while trying to sell the EXACT same item again. That shouldn’t happen! eBay should inform sellers to set the starting bid of a item at the minimum price they want to sell the item. Everyone I know says, to win a eBay auction make your bid at the last 10 seconds of the time limit. How ridiculous! It would be smarter if every time someone places a bid the time limit is be extended for a 60 seconds. I’m never doing a eBay auction again unless they change. I really wonder if I’ll ever get my money back too

- Superb

I don’t write reviews for apps but I feel I’ve used this app long enough to know I should write a review. I’ve been using this app since 2015, since I got my first job and a debit card. It’s been good to me thus earning a 5 Star rating and my experience with the app or just the website in general has been superb. I’ve bought many things from impulsive to necessary which I can say has gotten me to spend a lot of money but was given the convenient opportunity of shopping from sellers all across the globe. This app is the reason why I was able to save money on camera gear and even buying a computer to start my own freelancing career in photography and art. Where I’m from, we don’t have taxes but the things I’m looking for can be a little to pricey for my wallet and I get offers on eBay to save a bit of money and free shipping. I can shop at a certain big name website ( starts with an A and ends with an N *you know what I mean ) but shipping is never free, NEVER but eBay is for me and that’s a major plus. I could sit here writing a review on my experience with this app all day long but to summarize it all in this one review, it’s a good app and it’s easy to use. Everyone has probably used eBay at one point in their lives and some probably got ripped off and ignored eBay entirely but for those who’ve stayed as long as I have probably had more good experiences that outweigh the bad ones and that’s enough to keep me around.

- A Better Shopping Experience

I’ve been with EBAY almost 20 years and I’ve never once had a bad buying or selling experience that caused me some sort of anxiety to the point I wanted to cancel my membership. I can always trust that the reviews and ratings given to both parties are accurate in helping me to decide if they are a legitimate, honest and straight forward EBAY’ER before I do business with them. A much larger online store booted me from making anymore consumer reviews through my buying profile because I was giving them too many good reviews. They said it was because of the descriptive “review wording” I was using that caused some suspicion and perhaps I was favoring that company more so over the others. Could you believe that! Reviews are meant to critique both the buyer and sellers shopping experience so other consumers can evaluate them and decide for themselves if they want to do business with them or not. Also, I don’t mind waiting a few extra days of shipping to receive my product through EBAY because I know it will be what I ordered to begin with, and If I have any issues, I can trust it will be handled in a professional and friendly manner without any hassle. For me, I’m back to doing more of my shopping on EBAY. It’ll be worth it.

- Problems inside the app....

I don’t like the new format. While building ads, I should be able to turn features off and never be asked those questions again, like allowing the seller to give me a half price offer, shipping the item for free, or if I want consider reducing the price over time. Though those options might be consider by some, they absolutely don’t work for me and it adds extra time and worry to building an eBay ad. I would like to see, easier access for creating sales, easier distribution of my sale flier (past, non- following buyers), and more apparent of the actual things I purchase. They need to remove “sell” and “selling” terms on the front page, as it makes it more confusing to navigate. Finally, though buyer protection is nice, there needs to be a better follow through investigation on return items. Many times the buyers circumvent my “no return” clause, with made up conditions just to make me look like a bad seller. Often times, the past buyer’s have confessed that they did not read my description; only the title. This gives me an unfair advantage to me because they didn’t do due diligence before that bought the item. I am always willing to further express my on going concerns. I have been a seller for a few years and have experienced several changes. I need some cooperation from EBay in order for me to continue as the luster of being a seller is starting to fade fast. Please let me know, Tom

- Convenient and Easy to Use.. PLEASE READ

I have been a seller on EBay since 2004 and to this day I still love to sell and buy. This app is my go to nowadays. Selling is a breeze and this app makes it that way. Take a picture with your phone or tablet and post your item within a few minutes. Buying can be easy as well if you find what you need and check out, especially if what you are purchasing is new. BUT.. If you are comparing used items, it can get a little tricky. When you are looking for a particular product and there are several different listings of that product, I tend to look at the same listing over and over again if the listing looks similar. This is a pain when there are 25+ of the same product. Therefor I would love to see a option to hide a sellers product that I know I definitely do not want. My idea is...from the list of items, just slide the product you are no longer considering to the left or right and touch hide so you wouldn’t be able to see that listing just for the time you are presently on the app. I’m sure I’m not the only ebay customer that is meticulous when choosing which product to purchase, especially when it’s used. It would save your buyer so much time! Please consider this option and thank you!

- Fun place to shop “ EBay

I have been with EBay for several years now ! I have enjoyed it the whole time ! I shop on here because I can find what I want and not have to get out on the road to go find it ! Not only do you have the convenience from shopping at home but a good chance it’s going to be cheaper ! Your not burning gas and your safer shopping from your own home ! I don’t have to walk down aisle after aisle either ! I just use my fingertip ! I just found an item here on EBay that I could not find anywhere ! I’ve made a few calls and was given different phone numbers and not one helped ! I got on EBay and found it ! Yea ... I was real surprised ! I admit I did contact them several times to see if it was the real pieces I needed ! They even sent measurements of the part and everything was exactly the same size ! I just purchased it and just so happens that this review popped up ! I had to do it because this last purchase was one that I thought would not happen after all the calling I have done and a lot of internet research ! I thought all that time looking for these parts that I was not going to have any luck ! I got on EBay and found it in about 5 minutes ! I purchased it and now I will wait for it to be delivered !

- Don’t recommend them for selling anymore

I’ve been with eBay since 2008. Recently had an issue with a buyer that asked for a refund which I clearly stated it did not offer refunds all sales were final in the listing. Item was sent out packaged with double wall foam and bubble wrap as well as even more bubble wrap in the original box. He states I sent him a defective item yet stated he has the exact graphics card that is doing the exact same thing. Fact he has my card and his card doing the exact same thing equals either a driver issue or hardware incompatibility. I said look I’ll just refund you and send me the card back. But I was having so much anxiety from the whole situation and frustration I said keep the card keep the money and be done with it. After so many years with eBay I am finally going to put in a request to permanently close my account. eBay does nothing to protect its sellers and let’s you get ripped off. I’m out money and a graphics card. It is what it is though can’t let him get to me, just keep in mind buyers on eBay will do this to you, they will buy from you then don’t know what they are doing complain and get to keep your item and money. It’s just not worth it anymore to sell here. It’s been a good couple of years, that helped me offset paying for new computer builds selling my old hardware in original boxes and packaging. but if you plan to sell here keep in mind eBay will always screw the seller over.

- eBay

eBay has been my go to site for years. I find the best price on what I’m looking for about 90% of the time. It may take longer to get the price if waiting for an auction to end but if It’s not something needed immediately it’s worth the wait. Make sure to read full description of the item so it’s in the condition you want. Do not rely solely on the fist page of a listing since some may have errors such as being listed as new but full description will say open box. New open box may be fine for personal use but if you’re looking for gifts make sure it is new/never opened. If it’s not clearly stated don’t be afraid to ask the seller. Better to ask than go through the hassle of having to return the item. If a problem arises, with an item described wrong or receiving something not as pictured, eBay will work with you to get a full refund. People make mistakes, it will happen, be sure to follow guidelines for return. Do not just return an item without starting a return on eBay or getting confirmation from the seller and make sure to do it ASAP and include a packing list and return ID#. Once you get used to eBay and how it works you will find it’s a great shopping site.

I just wanted to take minute and say, THANK YOU TO ALL THE EMPLOYEES AT EBAY! If you look back on your first Ebay purchase, it was AWESOME, a new way to shop, but also sell. Then another player got into the Online Seller, and yeah, I have purchased from that place, but like a good old friend, I find myself always opening my EBAY App, if for nothing more than to browse, however that usually ends in a purchase…….perhaps you shop in the BIGGEST BOX STORE CHAIN, and if you do, and are like me, buy things you don’t need because there is so much…..EBAY, SAME WAY! I purchase so many things from EBay, things I wasn’t looking for, but things I always wanted, but could never find, AND, I DID NOT HAVE TO LEAVE MY HOME!!! Unless you live under a rock, we are all aware of the ABSOLUTE LAWLESSNESS IN MANY CITIES, AND RAMPANT STEALING AND CREATING A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION FOR ONE TO BE IN, JUST BECAUSE YOU WENT INTO A STORE TO SHOP….I pray it ends and soon, but with EBAY, YOU NEVER HAVE TO PUT YOURSELF IN ONE OF THOSE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS!!! So, if you are like me, if you have wandered, reintroduce yourself to OUR FIRST ONLINE SHOPPING FRIEND, AND SAY HELLO, AND TRY AND MAKE YOU PURCHASES FROM EBAY, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!! As for me, THANK YOU MY OLE FRIEND, YOU MAKE COMING BACK, JUST LIKE ONE NEVER LEFT!!!

- Good for buyers, bad for sellers

My site says NO RETURNS. But recently a buyer said that my item was not as described, eBay AUTOMATICALLY accepted the return, without letting me protect myself. This was a jet black fur, which my 12 photos showed that the fur was indeed deep black, but the return was granted to the buyer who said the fur was brown. The eBay representative who looked at my 12 photos said that the photos showed that the fur was definitely Black. There was a rug on my floor in the photo which was brown, black, and beige, and you could clearly see that the black in the rug was the same as in the fur, and you could clearly see the brown color in the rug. There was photos too of this sweater on my off white sofa, and you could see that the fur was jet black. The Philippine representative told me that its an automatic return policy that eBay has if the buyer says not as described! The Philippine rep also said it’s better for me that I take back the item even if it’s buyers remorse, BUT THATS RIDICULOUS! Why should I pay the shipping both ways! Why should I lose money! WHERE IS MY SELLER PROTECTION!! EBAYS NEW POLICY IS VERY BAD. EBAY BUYERS KNOW THIS AND ARE ABUSING THE SYSTEM. My seller asked me why I’m protesting her return.. as she put it “ no one else protested her return!” She then continued to tell me that my sweater was the wrong color black! At present my fur jacket is on the way back to me. WHY IS EBAYS ALLOWING BUYERS TO ABUSE THE SYSTEM!

- New image search “feature” ruins experience

Whoever designed the new “touch the screen to start an image search” “feature” has obviously never used the mobile app. This new “feature” ruins the browsing experience. I don’t even want to spend time on the app anymore... You folks should use your own app more often; Most of us actual users do this: search for an item, then browse the long list of items that come up using our thumb by 1a) resting our thumb on the lower area of the screen until we’re done looking at the current set of items on the screen 2) then moving it up the screen to scroll and get the next set of items. Or 1b) even if we don’t rest our thumb for the entire time on the screen, there’s a delay from when we touch the screen to when we scroll (this delay is our brains processing information). Now if my thumb doesn’t IMMEDIATELY move upon touching the screen it causes the “image search” feature to pop up and it COMPLETELY ruins the experience and flow and enjoyment and everything that makes browsing eBay anything resembling good. I’m typically pretty accepting and understand that nothing is perfect and take the good and the bad with apps and other things. But this is just silly, anyone that uses the app can see how much this ruins the browsing experience. It really makes me not want to use it anymore...

- eBay screws over new sellers. Prioritize another platform!

Full of scammers and not made to support new sellers. I uploaded one product a day, for a month, only ever getting buy requests from scammers asking me to text them, which I would just ignore, only having replied to one or two to figure out if it was legit. When I finally made my first legitimate sale, eBay decided to suspend me indefinitely almost immediately because of “suspicious activity” on my account. I read all their rules of compliance and I don’t believe I did anything suspicious or harmful to the community to deserve a permanent ban. Customer service is near impossible to get a hold of. Had to resort to messaging them on Twitter and even then they wouldn’t tell me a reason as to why they banned me. It’s infuriating. They essentially have a platform full of scammers and choose to ban people who follow the rules and don’t list anything disingenuous. You can google search other people that have had the same thing happen to them. I’m not a unique case. Not only that but they waited until after I shipped my product before banning me and are withholding my funds for a month. It was sold Dec. 8th and they won’t pay out until Jan. 8th. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m not down a product, a platform and my profit because of their stupid decision. Small businesses beware and do not make eBay your primary selling platform. They’ll screw you over and will not care at all.

- eBay still reigns As the best marketplace online!

I have 20 years of experience with eBay if not more! eBay is the only place online I like to shop for almost anything! The sellers are hot held to a very high standard they both the buyers but more importantly by eBay! They have lived up and surpassed even the highest of expectations! you can actually trust you’re going to get the product, it will be as described and if you do you have a problem it will be immediately addressed by post to seller and eBay! eBay’s site as well as their app, offer a wide range of prices on items as well as the ability to make offers if the price is too high! The sellers respond quickly and if they don’t except your offer they make a counter offer. What could be more fair than that? In addition, the majority of sellers either offer free shipping or actual shipping costs! You do not find that on any other site! All of these discount sites that you see, try returning an item, or telling them you have a problem with an item. You get the runaround of your life because most of them are not in the United States. I am those buyer and I have been a seller on eBay. beyond_belief

- No Customer Service and Random Bans

I was banned for no reason “ Your account was suspended because it exhibits a risk to eBay and to its community. As eBay is an Internet-based business, and its members are our customers, we must carefully weigh the risks involved in allowing users on our site. From time to time, we find accounts that present a level of risk that is unacceptable and are, therefore, suspended.” I literally posted 5 pokemon cards I was trying to sell from my childhood then five days later received a ban. The contact us didn’t have an email or phone number, it had a virtual agent which claimed the issue was likely a payment issue, but couldn’t put me in contact with a live agent. I finally gave up went on my computer to view the desktop version after 30 minutes finally found a phone number which I called and it said something like“this phone number is an error” before hanging up. I finally found a form for an email and filled it out, clicked the button to receive a copy of email (which I never did), but I finally got a response back with that message. Long story short, don’t waste your time with eBay. I’m lucky and my issue doesn’t involve me losing any money (just several hours of my time in an attempt to make a few extra bucks), but you could encounter an issue with actual money on the line and literally the worst customer service of all time.

- acc locked

my acc got locked and suspended for no reason whatsoever. I had literally just created it two days prior. I was trying to start selling things. And for my efforts i get acc ban without any explanation or recourse for me to undergo. Guess what im not making a new email adress just to get banned for no reason again. Ontop of this absurdity ebay and paypal have a monopoly where the seller is forced to use paypal or have to pay 30$ a month for a "online marketplace" acc or something. And when you are using paypal they take a tax from the money u make, ebay takes a tax and in the end you wait extra week to receive 50% of the earnings you made. Also Never sell more than 1 item at a time because ebay buyers are all scammers who request refunds on items you clearly have labeled "NO REFUNDS"... Why does ebay allow a buyer to request refund and receive their money back even when a seller has set the option "no refunds". That defeats the purpose of having the option in the first place. So if you sell 2 things and 1 of them request refund when you already withdraw the money, ebay will take the money you made from the 2nd item and give them to the scammer buyer. Without question ebay returns the money to the buyer, therefore scamming the seller. I used to have a negative balance on paypal because ebay steals money from there for the buyers refund even if i have nothing on the account. Ebay is actually on the scammer side, and paypal is their method.

- Stop with the updates! They're worse than ever

I have been selling on eBay for years. The last years using solely the Ebay app. I list approximately 200 items weekly. Firstly, stop with the updates. With every update the features seem to go downhill. It is becoming harder and harder to navigate. Placement of followed searches, watched items and even things you're selling are scattered all over the place. As far the as selling feature goes, the only improvement I could recommend is adding the second category option to an item being sold. That feature is only an option on a pc. It would be nice to be able to delete bought items. That used to be an option but not with the latest update. Ugh. I like a tidy bought and sold list. I love selling on eBay. The app is way simpler than the old style desktop way. eBay is the way I make ends meet and pay for my children's college. Don't think I don't appreciate the opportunity eBay gives me. Considering I pay over $18,000 in eBay fees a year perhaps you'll pay a little attention here. PLEASE stop with these downhill updates. Are the tech people trying to find things to do? Why mess up something that was ok?

- Automatically redirects from the web browser

The app itself is okay from what I got to try out. I made a purchase with it and everything worked great, and I like having the option to get notifications directly on my phone without having to keep checking the website all the time. However, I ended up deleting the app soon afterwards because I also like to access the website from my phone's browser where I can use all the features of desktop mode. Well, I was browsing on the website and it was working fine, but then when I tried to open a certain page, I was automatically redirected to the app. I don't remember now what it was I clicked on, possibly to see a seller's other items, but in any case, it had nothing whatsoever to do with the app. I went back to the browser, tried again, and was redirected again. The website refused to let me open the page in the browser until I finally removed the app altogether. I suppose it's possible there's an option somewhere to stop it redirecting, but I didn't feel like wasting my time searching. When I'm using the website, it's because I want to use the website. When I want to use the app, I will open it myself. There are pros and cons to both, and I'm not interested in having an app that decides for me when I want to switch.

- Copy cats

As an artist is very frustrating to see my ideas being reproduced over and over. Ebay does nothing about this. It would be nice if there was a setting where I can list my items so only certain buyers can see my items for sale. This would illuminate other artist from seeing my listings and duplicating the items that I’m painting on and profiting off of my creativity. This is very unfair and Ebay should step up and do something about this!!! Seems like Ebay only cares about making money and if I stop listing on Ebay, you will see a severe drop in “Yorkie handpainted” listings because people can’t seem to come up with their own ideas! Do the research and see when I list something new and unique, the next week duplicate items pop up. Several other artist friends of mine have dropped off of eBay because of this complication. Again, the solution would be for me to be able to block other artists from seeing my listings. I could care less about Private listings, it needs to be where my listings are blocked from other artists that can see my listings in copy my ideas. Step up and do something about this or I will just need to say goodbye to Ebay.

- Ridiculous eBay moderation team

I’ve been selling and buying through eBay for a long time and I also sell many different app with no negative feedback. The issues is not receiving negative or positive reviews but eBay has a team that you can request to remove negative feedback I contacted with customer agent and they do not have authorization to do it and other department can not speak with you . There is an customer agent name angela , who told me I will put a request for speaking with my supervisor whose name “ max “ and we will contact with you in 24 hours Nobody either called or sent any messages since I have received very unfair feedback that I did not even make business ( customer paid and I refunded her ) In eBay platform buyer has a right to give you a feedback even though there is no sales between buyer and seller this is ridiculous!! there is no other sales app as an example of this matter ! I will leave the platform cuz there are tons of Low iq people that can give you negative feedback for a mistake that shipping carrier makes such usps ships the box next door of buyer door and person gives you bad review for a mistake does not even in your hands either relatives your company !! But eBay does not remove the feedback don’t even waste your time they tell you speak with the person that gave u the feedback you wanna remove (very much problem solving approach)

So, let me start this off by saying i am not happy with eBay whatsoever. This website and app is the biggest scam to ever be made. Now let my make this clear, if you are BUYING from eBay. No problem, have fun scamming people and having eBay help you scam them because of their "selling agreement". BUT, if you are selling or trying to sell off of this website you are in for a "fun" ride. If your intent is to sell you will be shown just how easy it is for people to scam you. Here's what I mean buy this. I have sold over 20 things over eBay and 15 of those 20 things have all been the same. Even though I put in the settings that "I DON'T DO REFUNDS" the people buying from me where able to schedule a refund for my product claiming "that I had missing pieces or parts" even when I was selling something such as a cup... anyways because of this and how eBay is a buyer first type of company EBAY themselves were able to go into the PayPal and send the buyer BACK the money WHEN HE HADN'T EVEN SHIPPED MY PRODUCT BACK. So in this case he had MY product and had his $200 back... it has been over a month and I have lost over $2000 due to this ongoing scam to eBay and their "buyers". I also haven't received my product back ever. So, if you are going to use this app to buy. Have fun, if you are going to use this app to sell. Good luck because you are going to loose a lot of money.

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING eBay APP!!!Okay where should i start, well let’s see i have been a eBay customer for almost a decade now and i have had my ups and downs but unfortunately i have reached my limit. Recently i ordered parts that never arrived but was said to have been delivered to an address that doesn’t exist. Obviously before the parts went out i noticed the discrepancy and immediately notified eBay, who took days to respond. By the time eBay responded. The response i got back from eBay was to contact the seller, the seller had already shipped said parts 😞. I then got the ball rolling with trying to either get a replacement or refund. When i say i immediately got on the ball for a refund or replacement i mean immediately. The seller stonewalled be and i made a request for eBay to step in but of course that was a mistake. Again eBay took weeks to respond to my request only to tell me the matter had been closed and i would not be receiving anything (refund or replacement). At this point the sellers on eBay are under not type of liability for selling you wrong, damaged, or generally bad parts or items and eBay who is supposed to act as a broker furthers this behavior by enabling the sellers behavior. eBay does nothing to protect its buyers. I for one will not be ordering anything else from this point on from eBay. PLEASE READ BEFORE USING eBay APP!!!

- Tired of the Messing up.

Lately this app has been messing up and I am not able to pay for my invoices due to the screens keep saying error I then get unpaid item strikes despite communication with the sellers. It won't let me pay for my items one at a time and then sometimes it's reverse. I have enjoyed eBay for over 10 years now and had 100% and no item strikes. But thanks to the issues and errors that pop up on the screens my experience has been horrible. Also 5 years ago I had some items that I sold. I got very sick and was in the hospital for almost three weeks. I did miss sending the items although I made communication with buyers the moment I was conscious and explained what had happened. That was just a few items some of the people wanted the item still and some didn't but that was 5 years ago. Why am I being punished and not allowed to sell 5 years later? My feedback has been at 100% for years. No unpaid item strikes until recently due to the app not working correctly I have tried on my phone, my iPad, my pc and even a friends phone. I would like this all fixed please but I don't know what to do.

- eBay allows deception

Many items have a description in their title and a DIFFERENT description in fine print on the description page that deceptive sellers use to deceive. Also sometimes a photo falsely suggests strongly the size of an item (even though the actual dimensions are on the description page showing actual dimensions much smaller in metric but without a ruler or coin to suggest actual size for polite reference), KNOWING MOST WILL LOOK AT THE PHOTO AND BUY BECAUSE OF IT. This on items they know are copies / counterfeits of the real product in standard size, like a hairbrush I bought which was actually so small I couldn’t hold it to brush with it without it flopping out of my hand over and over. It’s as though they intentionally deceive because they know that NO ONE will return a $2-3 item. Also my eBay app should hold my purchase history INDEFINITELY OR UNTIL >>>I<<< delete it, and not be deleted by the eBay system. If I purchase lots of things it’s very easy to forget or lose track of an item ALREADY PAID FOR THAT I NEVER GOT. ESPECIALLY if eBay deletes my purchase history. It’s MY RECORD. DON’T DELETE IT FOR ME!!! Allow me that option. 😡 in light of what I’ve said, choose carefully and you may do well. There are some very good deals on eBay if you have good judgement and the time for all the hassles too. JD

- My review on Sellers

I have been an eBay member since 2001. That’s a total of 18 years. I think in the last three years the credibility of the eBay sellers has disintegrated. They lack credibility, integrity. My first 10 years maybe longer no matter what I purchased it was always exactly what they stated I warily ever had to return anything. I think maybe I returned two things in 10 to 15 years. Now it is just awful. The quality is bad it’s not as it described and what I find is that eBay doesn’t support the buyer when it comes to certain items. I don’t mind purchasing something if returns are not excepted, but when there is dishonesty and I purchased the item based on their truthfulness and I discovered that there is dishonesty involved regarding the product and I open a complaint and eBay supported the seller. The particular item I am talking about was a Kiehl moisturizer I purchased on eBay. I discovered The item was expired. I did my homework before I opened up the complaint. I personally met with the Kiehl representative To educate myself on skin care and expiration dates before I even opened up a complaint. I doubt that you’re bored who makes these decisions Didn’t do the research I did. So my lack of trust with eBay supporting me as a buyer has disintegrated considerably just like the sellers you allow

- Best buying and selling app.

eBay is horrible. They are bullies that don’t help at all and let scam artists sell fake stuff or things that don’t work at all and are broken then you can’t get any help at all to get your money back or contact the seller and there’s no way to contact eBay either. It’s extremely difficult and once you finally figure it out They don’t reply. if you are lucky enough to get someone to contact you back after weeks they are extremely unprofessional and rude. This company is shut down here dad and sued for millions . 100% bad business . I’ve been screwed in several items, thousands of dollars. No help from eBay at all. Don’t be fooled by their falsely advertised protection plans because they don’t work at all and you won’t get a reply. One of my many issues was when I purchased an iPhone for near $400, it didn’t work at all, tried to get ahold of seller for weeks, eBay didn’t help, finally sent it back to get my money back and they didn’t not refund my money. I somehow over looked the customers return request day and sent it 1 or 2 days after they requested. So i revived zero money back and they kept my phone and eBay didn’t help at all. They just were rude, unprofessional and did not help at all. The new iPad Pro arrive and is broken, doesn’t event turn on. I can’t get any help or reply from eBay it the seller.

- Terrible sneaker authentication

I’ve been using eBay for over 10 years and the app used to be great but this last order is the worst I’ve ever had on eBay. I bought a pair of shoes from a seller that was supposed to ship them to an authenticator. The seller printed the label but never sent the shoes. I’ve been waiting 11 days for the seller to ship them and have tried to file a claim with eBay but they said I cannot file a claim until the expected delivery date which is 3 weeks after the date I ordered! The seller has a bunch of feedback saying they never shipped the shoes people purchased to be authenticated now. He clearly is trying to scam people but eBay support is too stupid and pathetic to realize that and step in. They are letting a scammer continue to use their platform and the shoes I bought are going to cost me over $100 more than I paid when I finally get my refund because they went up in price. StockX and GOAT only give sellers 2 days to ship. eBay gives them 3 weeks. That just shows how clueless eBay is and how flawed their system is. They need to change the amount of time a seller has to ship or else there is absolutely no reason to use eBay to buy sneakers and I would highly advise against using eBay to buy sneakers unless you want your money held up for weeks by stupid scammers and equally stupid eBay customer support workers.

- APP Review not EBAY Review

I’ve been a seller on eBay for many years, a review on the platform itself is a whole different thing. This is a review of the app. I think it’s very easy to use and helpful for both buyers and sellers. I feel the app gets rid of a lot of the extra features that get in the way on the website. However, I don’t like that as a seller the only feature is to view, edit, and list your items. There are a lot of other facets to being a seller that could make up an “Ebay Seller App” such as paying my bill, viewing my daily sales or monthly numbers, starting a promotion, etc. All of this aside, there are two actual flaws with the current Ebay app. When I click on my profile to view any new or previous feedback, the screen never loads. Also, when scrolling through my items the app loads the items in bunches. This is fine but I am never able to scroll through all of my items because after loading a few bunches as I’m scrolling it freezes and can’t load anymore items. Then I have to leave the page and go back to try to get further down the list of the items - but it’s never possible. Fix these two things and you’ll have 5 stars from me!

- First steps

This recounts my first purchase on eBay, so the learning curve is near vertical. A bit confusing. Five days after purchase, I get an e-mail from the vendor asking what size. My question is: how did the purchase order get completed without that little detail? The advert I answered didn’t ask for a size so I assumed “one size fits all.” Just got an email that the merchandise shipped. Now I get to learn the tracking system. IMO the on line biz modelers need to lock a technical writer into a room with an IT coder and make the process more user friendly. Not my first unhappy experience. I placed a “notify me” order on a product that is out of stock and now I get spammed almost daily “are you still interested” and when I get to the order process, I am told it is still out of stock. Time is money, people. The online seller who comes closest to getting it right will get my patronage. If I get the product I ordered, I will be happy. Curious that E-bay is asking for this evaluation on the same day the product shipped and long before it could have arrived. Turn the screws on the tech writer, he should know better and turn up the heat on the coder because he should do better.

- EBay needs to update app

Most app features work well but they continue to fail to address the needs and suggestions if sellers. Too many circular help options. The mail reason for my low rating is eBay still has NOT fixed old purchases being “stuck” in the list of purchases. When trying to remove very old purchases (so to increase # of watched items) it says unavailable or just doesn’t let you delete them or the just reappear. Why doesn’t the developer FIX THIS???? There’s so many complaints about this going back several years! Related: why is there such slow limit of the number of watched items one can have? That makes no sense. In fact, I can guarantee eBay is losing money by not fixing this problem. If I could watch more items, I know I would be able to watch them and buy more. But if my list is “full” I simply forget about the items that I might have bought. Seriously, you guys need to step up your app or sellers and buyers (like myself) are going to leave this app. I know I’ve about had it with eBay’s lack of interest in helping its sellers. You guys purposely don’t make it easy to get help or to get improvements made. Take heed of the feedback and make changes or you’ll become the next “tumblr” and die a slow death.

- The eBay app is perfect! Change nothing!

Launched the app this morning and the eBay app asked me for feedback. Not thinking, I closed it automatically. But I’ve noticed the app has been asking that a bit more than usual as if they’re looking to make changes or improvements. But as an eBay fan I’m here writing this review to tell all the executives and developers at eBay... The eBay app is absolutely perfect! Change nothing! The eBay app is simple and perfect. Everything is easy to find, to access and to adjust. Please, eBay is one of the very few apps left that I praise for it’s simplicity and ease of use. When I search I find what I’m looking for. When I’m selling I see all the information I need. When I’m buying I see all the information I need. Keep things as is. Do not feel inclined to change things for whatever the reason may be. Do not fix what is not broken. Do not be like other apps that constantly update and make unneeded changes that they THINK is making the app more refreshing and better designed. They’re only doing the opposite, breaking what does not need fixing.

- I feel like I’ve been robbed by eBay

My middle school English teacher introduced me to Ebay in the early 2000s. I’ve sold on the app on and off and purchased many items over the years. It was my favorite place to shop and always felt safe with all transactions until now. I purchased a ski suit overseas for $150, sender sent it and apparently the mail man misread my address and sent it back to seller. I notified seller and asked to let me know when received so that we can try again. I contacted seller 3 weeks later and seller hadn’t received it and asked me if it had a tracking number. I replied by saying it the USPS no longer tracks packages once they’re sent back. Seller stop replying after that. I asked seller for a refund, never heard from said seller. I opened a case and eBay a few days later eBay’s closed the case saying exactly this words “We’re Sorry you had a problem with your purchase. However, this item isn’t covered by the eBay Monday Back Guarantee. After reviewing all the details of this case, we determined that you won’t receive a refund. I feel like I’ve been robbed by eBay, seller stopped replying to my messages and eBay still sided with seller. I’ve never experienced this before and lost $150. How is that even right? I won’t buy on this app anymore, eBay it’s becoming just like the other dishonest apps out there.

- Price range bait and switch

First of all it’s messed up that you can’t contact eBay customer support via email and are only provided a phone number. My complaint is about how sellers have side skirted the lowest price plus shipping filter. It used to be that you could press lowest price plus shipping, and the results would be the items with the lowest prices. Now when you click lowest price plus shipping, it shows you an item with a really low price, say $.74, but when you click the item and go to its page it has a price range of $.74 to say $15. You are usually provided a few options to enter for the product and when you put in the information relevant to the item you are searching for, 9 times out of 10 the price becomes $15 instead of $.74 with the $.74 item being a worthless accessory or something not even wanted. This is annoying to no end and completely makes useless the lowest price plus shipping filter. This along with having to scroll through miles of pages of the same stock photo from the same seller of a product where each page has a price difference of a penny or a different color option or something. Individual sellers flooding the search results with jillions of pages their own stuff so nobody else’s product gets seen through the crowded mess. If nobody at ebay is fixing this, that means you must be complicit. Boooo!

- Useful but needs some improvements

It is very good for basic searches and checking of items for sale and ones buying or watching. Like the way it lets you enlarge the images of the items and the ease w which you can leave feedback. However there are several features I would like to see incorporated in future editions. There is no way in this program to pay for multiple purchases from one seller. It only allows you to pay for items one at a time. Also, as a seller there is no way to invoice multiple sales. The search system could be improved. Presently you have to reset the search filters with each search. I would like it to remember the previous search I did. I like to find out prices realized on items to help in pricing and I sell items mainly in one category. On the laptop version, when I am searching for a batch of items, I set the parameters once - for the category and for completed and it keeps those parameters during the entire setting. However the iPad version reverts back to the program filters after each individual search.

- App lacks features, ebay takes your $$

I’ve been using ebay since its early days for over 20 yrs. You used to be able to make a profit when you sold your good, almost new or new items from your own closet or home. Now ebay charges you so many fees, including shipping fees, that it’s impossible to get your money back on items you’ve bought but don’t need. Ebay also almost always sides with the buyer on disputes, even when the buyer intentionally damages an item in order to return it. When i add it all up, I’m probably losing money, so I’m shutting it down as a seller and going to a competitor. I still have lots of items I’m trying to get rid of in my home, but ebay is just too painful to deal with now. As for the App, it’s not bad, but it does not include all the features you need as a seller or buyer. You cannot do a dispute, manage your account very well, or find information. That’s a problem with ebay in general. They do not make it easy for you to get answers. It’s intentional so you give up and don’t bother. If you want to browse for items and purchase, it’s fine. But the negatives for ebay far outweigh the positives. Plus the support is overseas and there is at times language barriers and they read off of scripts. It’s time to go.

So I am one of the most trusted sellers and am often more considerate and less greedy than other sellers. However, last year, I sold a gameboy game system. The buyer made a false claim, to get their money back, which put my paypal account in negative balance. Here is the problem, the buyer who purchased the item, used a fake pitch black image with a silver or greyish small square, which has been a common scam image that ebay and other sellers know about but yet they fail to even let the seller defend their case AT ALL and prove authenticity. They also fail to look at the exact images of what was sold, and review both sides of the story and just side with the buyer within seconds of the buyer submitting the fake image that does not show the actual item whatsoever. I have never had a problem selling things on ebay and always got good reviews. But the fact that Ebay banned me over one fake buyer, and false claim, is outrageous. Ebay will not even answer me whatsoever in regards to this matter, I am to the point that I am ready to file a lawsuit and take them to court. I have reported this to the better business bureau twice since then, and Ebay still has never responded. DO NOT USE EBAY!!!!! SELL LOCALLY OR ON A DIFFERENT PLATFORM BECAUSE EBAY IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY ANYMORE AND THEY LET SCAM BUYERS GET AWAY WITH EVERYTHING AND REFUSE TO CARE ABOUT THE SELLER.

- There ARE other options.

I’m not a big fan on leaving negative reviews but these are issues with the company as a whole rather than an individual. 1. The messaging system is broken. The interface is disorganized and old and there’s no good way to see your sent messages or recover older ones. 2. Non-transparent fees. Ever since ebay has switched away from PayPal charges seem random and the invoice is disorganized. 3. USPS. This isn’t a problem that eBay has much control over honestly, but there are several third party selling websites which make it far easier to deal with the USPS (for trading cards these include comc and Star stock) and for the last 2 months almost every standard eBay envelope I’ve sent has gone missing. 4. Customer Service. The first time I needed to use eBay customer service it wasn’t bad. I was able to reach an agent in 10 minutes who was able to help me through the problem I had at the time. This no longer seems to be the case, as it’s very difficult to actually talk with someone let alone them be able to give accurate help. For a long time eBay’s seemed like a necessary evil and for some it may still be that way but if your buying and selling almost any kind of collectible there are plenty of other options which don’t have the numerous issues ebay has.

- Just a bunch of hacked accounts and fake Chinese sellers

I highly recommend you stop or never start using eBay. It was become a market place of fake sellers, most with Chinese addresses or American addresses that have been hacked. Just recently bought a backpack and received a shipped notice with a tracking number. When the “item” arrived it was a letter saying i would receive it soon and I could track it at USPS. But I never received a new tracking number. When I tried to get a refund from eBay, they required me to wait another 15 days before I could even request a refund. I decided to call eBay customer service and I was on hold for over 30 minutes even though the app said it would be a one minute wait time. When I finally got through to customer service, I had to explain my situation multiple times before they took any action. After all that waiting I was told I the seller had a week to provide a refund, if they failed to do a refund then I would have to call back. Prior to that incident I won an Apple TV from someone in California, after two weeks I never received the item and when I contacted the seller I never received a response. Again eBay forced me to wait another 10 days before I could request a refund. When I finally received a refund, I was not allowed to leave feedback warn others of the fake seller.

- ebay treats new customers like they are criminals

I started a new personal (not business) account. I sold and shipped an item that is en route. Then I attempted to purchase some tank tops. I have a PayPal account already and decided to link them. The item I sold was a women’s biker riding leather gear. Day 5, when I purchased some tank tops and the gear was in route to the buyer my account was suspended for fraud! I call and am asked where I obtained the things I was selling. My account was reinstated but now the item I sold and the funds still pending are no longer available. The tank tops I ordered have been canceled but the funds are gone from my PayPal account to that vendor with no receipt or proof of sale but an email saying it was cancelled, oh, and I am an accountant so I take screen shots. Why would I be accused of scam and fraud without a call or verification? I have excellent credit and never had a felony or anything!? I have decided I would rather pay more or do without than work with the gestapo. I will be donating the rest of my riding gear and decor I no longer want to goodwill. 2 stars for selling my leathers and making me jump through hoops as if I had to prove I’m legit, instead of verifying people like a normal business would! Unless you are a business ebay is not where you want to sell your personal items.

- Account Restricted and Suspension

I have recently created an eBay account because I wanted to sell a Godzilla Playset, simple as that. Two days later, I have gotten my account suspended indefinitely for an unknown reason. I called to reinstate my account, first operator was trying to figure out what was going on and I told him who I was and what I was trying to do and then he saw that my account was restricted for some weird reason and decided to be rude about it and not let me know what was the exact reason. I literally just started my account and they told me that my account is concerning. That is all. And he told me to have a good day and wouldn’t even answer my question. I called back a minute later and a lady answered the phone and told me that my account is suspended indefinitely and I asked her why and she literally cannot answer my question to protect eBay about their “policies” and not find a way around their policies. I myself was not trying to find a way around any stupid policies. I just wanted to sell my Playset and buy a Spider-Man figure cause I’m a nerd like that and now I can’t do crap cause they can’t and won’t unsuspend my account for a stupid reason. eBay is trash and always will be trash, especially their customer service. How are you going to suspend me and not even tell me the exact reason why.

- Expand Number of Watched Items You Can Have!

1. Great app for the most part but for the life of Brian PLEASE expand the number of watched items you can have! On many, MANY occasions I’ve had to add items I want to watch to my cart because I’m out of space in my watched items list. Then, I run into technical problems there too (see below). Why on earth would you want to limit the number of items someone might wish to purchase! Often, especially now with new features, sellers have the option of offering you a lower price. But if it’s not in your watched item list or cart you won’t be notified. You’re costing sales with this unwarranted limit that other apps like Poshmark don’t have! Please CHANGE THIS. 2. When editing (removing OR viewing) items in your cart (which I have to use for excess watched items), when you view or delete an item you are taken back to the top of the page. Very annoying to have to scroll down to find your place each and every time. You should be able to return to the same place in this list after deleting or moving an item. Please CHANGE THIS.

Why doesn’t my review show up? Could it be because it isn’t good? SELLERS BEWARE!!! EBay is no longer a place for buyers AND sellers!! If you list with EBay, be prepared to defend your price every day!! They go as far as changing my acceptable bids daily without a word to me about it. Becoming a scam!! Here’s how to destroy a billion dollar business in one fell swoop. I have used EBay for close to 20 years, and have sold and bought almost equally. In my experience, I’ve never had a problem. Recently, I listed about 30 pieces of jewelry, and I have had nothing but trouble...not with the sales, but with EBay wanting to give my items away!! Every day I have to go to my listings, and see what EBay has done to my listings. They keep dropping the price of what offer I will accept. Every day. It’s almost like EBay is working for the buyers, and are working to get the best deal for them! I’m paying for the listings, so seems the price should my decision, not theirs!! I was told if I would accept offers and set my lowest price, EBay would stop harassing me about lowering my prices, but, no. They harass me every day.

- The eBay app is . . .

Very dangerous! The app is so convenient and easy to use that I find myself for hours looking through things for sale and I love it. Anytime that I have ever had to speak with the eBay representative they have been extremely professional and 100% attentive and really wants to get involved with solving your problem, explaining the rules so that maybe you don’t experience that issue again, and they will also reach out to the seller if the seller is the one that’s wrong and explain to them why they are. I love the app and I love to work with the representatives. I do you not feel anxiety that I need to call the eBay customer service reps and I’m like “oh great it’s going to be a problem”, it is the exact opposite. Again like I said the reps are so professional and extremely helpful I love to get to work with them. I do not like having an issue with the seller but I absolutely love to work with eBay’s customer service reps. So if you have a little bit of time check out the eBay app and you just might find yourself doing the same as me, and staying on it all day long.

- Problems

As a frequent eBay buyer, don’t like: 1) Seller out of the blue offers you a discount, but the buyer then doesn’t have options to reject or counter. Needs to be less seller-centric. 2) I would like to have buyer-personal settings that occur when I do a search, rather than eBay default setting. I seldom will use eBay’s ‘Best Match’ algorithm, it almost never meets my desires so I waste my time un-setting searches. Aggravating. 3) Sellers need an auto prompt when weeks pass and they have an untenable high price on things, which is never sell. 4) Sellers about 50-50 of the time don’t accurately describe used items. They need to have more caution via e-training. Maybe they’re trying to take advantage of novice buyers. 5) Very dissatisfied with seed packets coming out of China. Fraud might be going on. 6) Despite occurrences, when sellers send me the wrong item and they tell me to return it...have never seen it work correctly. Something is wrong with the process. 7) Foreign sellers tend to be sloppy in their products—if they say 30x40mm jewelry fittings, it may be 31x41mm and not fit 30x40mm added cabochons as would US fittings.

- Ebay employees don’t use it?

Although some core features work well, The Ebay mobile phone app is clunky, has incomplete features, does not follow the same layout as a computer interface. Newly posted items for sale are buried by default, have to sort each time for Ended Latest. Every time you create a listing your forced to close 2 pop ups regarding automatic price lowering. No option to block in future. Every item for Sale says “Buy it Now” also says “Live until sold or cancelled” which is redundant. Every item for Sale just has “Shipping” next to it, instead of any reference to “Free” “Flat” or “Calculated” so before adjusting any price you commonly have to go into each one, open shipping section, review, back, then adjust price. No way to select specific notifications, rather they all come or none. App is covered with google ad results. Even when your looking at your own Orders, eBay thinks a Seller may be interested to see some Google Ad Results. This type of garbage makes it clear that eBay is just trying to milk out as much money as possible on the short term despite the negative impact in the long term. Recommend you have eBay employees sell a few dozen items from mobile app and they will see what deal with. Thanks for reading! Hope to see some changes make this app smoother!

- New to this

As my title states Iam new to eBay. I give you a rating of 3 stars at this point considering you ask me at my present experience. So I can only hope there will be a follow up questionnaire after further dealings. I've purchased two products so far that have made it to or past the shipping stage. The first, greatly impressed me with accuracy of description and shipping speed. The second, was a pair of shorts. I bid and waited and won. I then receive a message about the product stating it is not as posted and isn't even the same color. I responded saying I was not interested in the color they wanted to give me, that I'm willing to work with them but that particular color I didnt want. I then receive a shipping notification that the shorts have been shipped. I then send multiple messages to seller saying I didn't want the color they offered me, that I wanted what was pictured. They have not responded. So I've yet to leave a review as I see I'm not even able to do until I've been a member for 5 days. So, I leave and stand by my rating of 3 stars since I've had a mixed experience. I hope to hear from you in hopes you can resolve my issue since your app doesn't allow new members to review.

- do not sell here

Great for buyers maybe, but sellers beware. Very little selling protection and they always side with buyers even if they are fraudulent and scamming you. Horrible website and app with horrible people running it who just don’t give a darn about the sellers and their reputation and only if they get the money. I sell for a living and have never had a worse experience than eBay. I was drawn here for being able to sell higher priced items and the lower fee than others take but learned it’s not worth it. I sold a very high end coat for $600 days before Christmas that came with original tags and all proof of authenticity. Buyer decided to open a return case for it being unauthentic within 5 minutes of opening it. I purchase items from the stores myself and KNOW it is not fake. I do not accept returns either but eBay forced me to without even listening to me or letting me talk to somebody. Buyer purchased just to wear on vacation and return and I can’t do anything about it and lost my christmas money and item until she decides she is ready to ship it back. DO NOT SELL HERE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ! Customer service is non existent unless you take the time to call and even then they don’t do anything. Depop, Poshmark, TheRealReal, or literally anything but eBay is the better option. They will at least try and help.

- 3/10

Unless you tend on only buying items on eBay, don’t bother selling. You can only list up to 5 items a month, or earn $465 a MONTH. Which is less than what rent costs in a one room apartment. So if you have something to sell on eBay and it’s worth more than $500, don’t bother. You’ll have to request for higher selling limits and that requires you to have an actual business outside of eBay. Address included. Which is stupid and pathetic. These limits are horrible and outrageous. I sold two things on that app before i got an email saying my account was suspended INDEFINITELY for no reason. A few years ago, I didn’t like eBay because I couldn’t sell much and the algorithm was messed up. But now, it’s even worse. You can get your account taken as a seller if one buyer reports you just because they don’t like you. And the selling limits are so pathetic and limited, you have no room to breathe. They advertise it as user friendly but then put so many obstacles for you to jump over in the process and expect you to do so. The selling limits need to change. And the limiting of posts? There’s no point to do that. Especially around Christmas when people are buying your items. If you’ve got more to sell, don’t bother with eBay.

- Horrible Selling app. You’re way better off using Facebook or something else

There’s many reasons why eBay is a horrible app to sell on. We can start off with their ridiculous fees that take a good chunk off the top of whatever you sell. Or perhaps we can go with the fact that sellers have very little protection on this app. For instance, I sold sealed packs of sports cards and the buyer claimed they were ‘resealed’. Not a problem just ship them back and I’ll issue a refund... No big deal right?? Wrong. What I received in return were the cards from these packs that the customer had opened and what I assumed he cherry-picked through and took whatever he wanted. Once I contacted eBay support about the issue they were very unhelpful and didn’t even understand what I was saying as they are obviously foreigners, from some call center, that don’t know English very well. So now I’m out of 400 dollars as I was forced to issue a refund though PayPal, with no recourse to solve the issue. On top of all these problems.. eBay had the nerve to invoice me a bill for 76 dollars that I obviously did not wish to pay.. however it isn’t up to me as they just took it out of my bank account against my wish. Do not use this app... please just save yourself the trouble and sell elsewhere!

- Sellers - Limited Accesibility on App

I love everything about selling through the eBay app, except a few major flaws that need to be addressed before I would give the app anything close to a 5 star rating. While I am able to create/revise listings with single variations through the app directly, there is no option to create/revise multiple variation listings through the app itself. I only sell through multiple variation listings, as creating listings for item variations individually would be way too time consuming and costly. But multi-variation listings is only accessible through a computer’s web browser, (note: I have tried using my iPhones safari web browser to create/revise listings that feature multiple variations, but my efforts here have been unsuccessful due to issues loading the classic desktop webpage in my iOS mobile browser). Another major issue is communication with my buyers-when I reply to their questions from the eBay app on my phone, it doesn’t register my responses as ‘answers’ to the buyers questions, despite the fact that I have answered them. As a result, my eBay seller hub thinks that I have countless unanswered questions from buyers, yet I have answered every last one. If these two issues were addressed, I would most definitely change this review to 5 stars!

- Shopping Nirvana

I have almost become addicted to eBay. Only my wife has saved me with a constant reminder about living within budget. It seems you can buy almost anything, at a cheaper price than elsewhere, from reliable sellers by either buying now, making an offer or bidding. Not only is it a perfect way to shop but it’s FUN! Most of what I buy is postage free. I deliberately look for that. eBay is highly intuitive. You don’t need a manual to navigate around, contact sellers or eBay, make your offer or bid, check your cart, look at your purchasing history and on and on and on it goes. So much content for our benefit it must have a huge engine running it all. I’ve never had a dispute with eBay. They are always accommodating and eager to please and assist. I also like that I can have multiple accounts. Another big thing for me is the fact that, once I provide my credit card details (securely) to eBay, every time I buy, the purchase goes through automatically and immediately. No need to constantly fill out personal and financial details. I often check different places for price comparison if I’m looking to buy something and eBay invariably is cheapest. I have received small gift vouchers a couple of times for no particular reason. Just loyalty I guess? I appreciate that little touch. Well, I’m hooked and I’m not embarrassed to say so. It is a sensational marketplace and the eBay Brand is solid gold. Have fun shoppers. Chili Boy

- Glitch in the app??? Items paid not found in purchased page!

I would normally give this 5 stars... Never have I had a problem with using the app until a few days ago when I checked out with 4 items in my cart... confirmed payment and went straight to PayPal like normally would. This time, the items that were paid did not state they were paid nor was it in the purchases page. Called up ebay they said I didn't buy when clearly it went through PayPal and money has been taken out. Had to call PayPal... Now is the waiting game to see if the items paid for will arrive. I hope this is a once off problem with ebay app. Another problem is the purchase page will sometime come up as 'no purchases in the last 60 days' ever since problems with the purchases of those items.

- Won’t use it any more

I’m simply fed up with the poor processes of eBay, though I’ve been registered for many years! Firstly, the images sellers advertise are not always the same as the product, I.e., it’s an inferior item, usually cheap knock-offs from China. That’s ok, just don’t use misleading photos. I hardly ever return anything, but whenever I have needed to the returns system freezes up or crashes whenever the return shipping label is requested. I’ve been all around the houses with them over and over trying to get past it but you just get the same old runaround every time - even though the system says it's their fault. My last gripe is that you must be wary not to order items from China that are delivered outside the 60 day refund timeframe, because if you don’t get the item or it’s faulty you’ve blown any chance of ever getting a refund. I’ve had lots of smooth purchases but I’ve not always been impressed with the quality and if you can’t return items easily, especially in these Covid times, it’s lost it's appeal. Thanks but no thanks!

- Good app, but uncomprehensive and annoying notifications

Generally a good app to search for things, bid and purchase. Some points need serious improvement though: - notifications should be consistent. If there is a badge on the app for item sent etc., the emails should be turned off. It is annoying to have double notifications, with the email app immediately afterwards signalling a message saying the same thing as the eBay app notification (e.g. item shipped etc.). - Please STOP misusing notification badges to spam me with adverts! This killed it me - I just turned app notifications off altogether. - sellers offer payment via bank transfer, but the app does not allow me to select it. It is annoying if the app lacks functionality and I have to switch to website - might as well go to website in the first instance.

- Reviews!

I’ve been using eBay for quite some time now, and it has come to my attention that it’s really hard to see certain products reviews... now I am the type of person that likes to check reviews before purchasing because of many reasons... When I am on the “Wish” app you can click on the stars on a certain listing just to see the reviews of that one product you’re viewing, but on eBay you go to check the reviews on one product and all the reviews from all their different products show up and it makes it very difficult for a buyer to find reviews on that one product they want to purchase! I would like this to be changed so when you’re viewing one particular item you only see reviews on that one item, and having the option to also show some pictures on reviews would be just as great so other buyers could see the product and make a final decision.

- Sanderson w t

Trying to purchase items on eBay I find to not be a user friendly experience for the inexperienced. It is a battle to get in touch with sellers , if not almost impossible . Sometimes a message seeking a response from a seller gets rejected by eBay . I feel the system is in need of a full review by eBay , my inclination after a couple of very frustrating experiences is that I will keep away from using eBay & hope that a more enterprising company gets into the market place so I can utilise a user friendly system . When I have questions for sellers on eBay there are many similar negative responses regarding ebays poor performance. So if there ever is a competitor , eBay will become obsolete/superseded overnight . Maybe The only reason eBay has customers is the lack of real competition.

- Some good some bad

Ebay itself has an excellent platform for promoting goods for sale. The downside is 95% or more all comes from China and is often a knockoff of the original. As such it’s a real hit and miss depending on what you’re looking for. Definitely don’t bother with any cheapie hands free or Bluetooth devices as they have all been rubbish in my personal experience. Have had some luck with gardening equipment however these items weren’t cheap, they did the job satisfactory but couldn’t recommend as a daily use/trade item (even though the poor English translation promises ultra high quality). Ebay use to have a high percentage of secondhand goods but now it’s mainly new items. I guess when the fees are taking a good slice of the profit there’s reasons to sell elsewhere. I continue to purchase and case out what’s on offer but always expect the worst when the package shows up.

- Still not a smooth experience

I have used this App for many years and used it to purchase items in the past, but not any more. As the previous reviewer stated - the purchases may go through PayPal but not show up in your purchase list on the eBay system. I have experienced this too and it is annoying, inconvenient and scary. If this happens to you, the best way to contact eBay is through email, if you can manage to find its email contact facility - they don’t make it easy. If you call them, it will add to the confusion. eBay confirmed to me that there is a known glitch with this App and I was advised not to use it for purchasing items. I don’t use it to purchase items any more and I am surprised that this App still has such problems. Currently, this App will not archive any of my received purchases of the last 3 years. There is no syncing with the online platform. Still not a smooth experience.

- Would have been 5 stars but 3 major problems

I am a veteran user of ebay and really like it a lot.. this review would have been 5 star but for 3 major issues 1. The recently introduced Global Shipping Program. The GSP Solved non existent issues. This doubles the cost to the buyer to get items. No-one benefits except ebay .. sellers lose scores of would-be buyers .. and buyers can no longer afford things. Meanwhile for those who do pay the extra fee .. ebay laughs its way to the bank. 2. I hate when i sort on lowest price including shipping .. i select and pay for my item .. then get a slew of eBay ads for the same product cheaper .. clean up your sorting act please ebay. 3. Since the integration of paypal to eBay... the rare times when i need ebay/paypal for solving disputes where i need a refund has become incredibly difficult .... not customer friendly at all

- eBay

If you run into problems with eBay which you inevitably will eBay are absolutely impossible to deal with no matter how hard you try. I was hospitalised in intensive care and wasn’t expected to live . This happened after I sold articles on eBay when I finally got home I sent everybody their things and apologised for the inconvenience and explained I was hospitalised and had just got home they apologised for informing eBay they hadn’t received their order and eBay I just couldn’t contact and they refused to let me sell I than waited until I was on 100 again and than tried to sell something than still couldn’t had to Get a whole new account in a different name fortunately I had been married in the meantime so I had a different name and address

- Lounge room shopping

Shopping for anything from tools, IT bits through to cars and medical needs. You name it and you'll get it on eBay. What's more, you can also sell anything here. All in all, a great trading place. It would be nice to be able to turn off the ending soon notifications or at least set a time and type of notification. My last review; next time I'm asked to review I think a one star will happen. I have other things in my life that are far more important than reviewing apps. Is it also possible to stop sending notifications about items that I have already purchased? After providing top ratings I am sick of reviewing it so have dropped the rating to one star. Stop asking me to rate your app.

- 50/50

It’s good when some things arrive, and the app itself is pretty good but the bad thing is, when you buy something and then later gets deleted after you recently purchase it, you get worried that you have been scammed. You have to watch sometimes who your buying off of these days, sadly. Btw I would not recommend this app for kids even 12+ more like 18-21+. As a 16 year old I get anxious with purchasing stuff online and I try to be safe as possible when doing so, but when something goes wrong I’m scared. My parents have been trying to help me but they are worried too and in the past they have had some problems with other apps similar to eBay. eBay seems like a easy usable app (besides some sellers scamming or something going wrong) but as a teenager, I don’t want to be scammed.

- Not happy

Not happy with the new eBay app. Nothing wrong with the old classic view page everything on one page and never had any trouble seeing payments, messages, 2nd chance buys, time left, feedback, how many to post, no available for 2nd chance buys everything. This new version tells me I have a message but when I try to open it doesn’t show the message, I was notified on one page that payment was made but didn’t get email confirmation that it was, I had to go to PayPal to see in my account to verify payment. 2nd chance come up as buy it now where the old version it wasn’t and I could add to invoice so as to apply postage discount this resulting in emails going back and forth and then doing refund for excess payment of postage so much extra work and frustration. All in all it is suppose to make it more simple to operate. If the old version isn’t broke why try to fix it, and old saying but true. Not Happy Pawpaw147

- Many duplicate item IDs

Do a search for common items, like “headphone stand” with location filter set to Australia Only and sort by Best Match. Many results are returned, often with the same item ID. So you can’t even report the item as a duplicate because the ID is the same. Other unscrupulous seller practices render the price sort option unusable: they have a title like “headphone stand” with listing variations so they can include a $1 item that is not a headphone stand, but when you pick the variation you want the price jumps up $10. It’s so tedious to report the items that it seems eBay don’t care that the search results are effectively unusable. So instead of helping me make a purchase I just give up and go to a shop.

as the title says . when ask do you wish to buy similar , it goes to some other completely useless junk . cannot coprehend the english language, ask to search for china marble ?? goes instead to chinese marble. then they list junk in antique section that was made by hop sing in his backyard yesterday ie china thy have vintage items in antique section visa versa . sellers that dont even know what they are even selling or its value. then feebay charge excessive fees , then they want you to pay 50 dollars fee a year for the privilege of a instant 50 dollars discount on your next purchase over 100 dollars , then you like or watch something then feebay email you the buyer has offered a discount? whoopdeefriggindoo if i wanted it for an over inflated ptice i would not be watching it . and not offered it at frebays miserly discount feebay was good now its turned into as the title says CRAPP could go on for another 1,000 words but don't have time to comment more on feebay

- Crashes with IPhone XMax

This is the third time in a week I have had to delete & reload this app on my new IPhone X Max. I sell LOTS of items & am often out, however I have to wait till I get home to a desktop to do things, such as provide refunds for excess postage. This creates a poor experience for the customer. It is ridiculous in this day & age of technology that the mobile app does not have the functionality of the desktop version. App developers - PLEASE add the extra functionality for the sake of your sellers & Buyers. It is easier to use the Etsy app. & I am starting to transfer my listings there. Also fees are a LOT cheaper. You are not making it easy or encourage sellers to sell.

- Has a massive bug

I recently made a account and it asked for my address and mobile number. I filled it in (all correctly) and the java script thing comes up where you have to wait for it to refresh. I noticed that it said something about confirming the information once it refreshes. I do it again and the same java script prompt came up. It refreshed and it wanted me to do my information again. I fill it out again and the same java script thing happens. I do it again and again hoping that the app would fix itself, it never did. A similar one happened on safari version, you would put in what country you where from and the java script would happen again, another loop. This problem I have described at the start happens on the chrome version and app version. I always use eBay so please let me use it again and fix this issue

- A few annoying things

The app is generally good but it’s annoying that when you hide purchased items they come back later on to try to get you to buy more. They should be hidden permanently. It’s annoying when you buy multiple items from the one seller that you can’t hide them. Especially annoying when you’ve hidden them as they are a present for your kids. Also annoying that it’s difficult to report a terrible buyer or seller or apply for a refund when goods don’t turn up. It’s basically designed to make those things hard so that most people give up and don’t bother.

- Demands to Revise Listings or Listings get Delisted !

Nov 18 - More demands to revise every listing otherwise paid listings will be deleted! Then change to the mobile app which removes previously useful functions! Sept 17 - They keep changing the specifics needed to be entered for items and their categories they need to be listed in. Plus threatening to delist items if they do not have the required changes made. Item are then not preferenced in the search to be selected for purchase. This is unfair when the fees have been paid to list the item and it is a massive job to revise all the listings which I don't have time to do. Earlier Review Bring Back Old Version Not user friendly. Difficult to navigate. 10 of my listings have disappeared and cannot be found in unsold list. Cannot revise best offer prices why? Cannot see feedback so not able to respond quickly to problems. Screens are too long to scroll through. Old version was user friendly as a store seller and buyer. Cannot send combined invoices. Keeps taking back to beginning when changing between apps even if it only a moment. Very poor update would like old app version back.

- Get your act together.

This once great trading website is now next to useless due to an ever increasing number of sellers listing multiple items under the one listing. This added to the huge numbers of sellers from Asia being allowed to include free shipping that can take up to 6 weeks to ship items. The only way to avoid the tsunami of dodgy sellers and useless listings is adjusting the search parameters manually EVER SINGLE time you use the app. Just incase the frustration levels weren’t high enough already, this only limits the influx. If you don’t know what I mean, try to buy a set of black Vans Spicoli sunglasses. eBay clean up your sellers requirements. Limit the number of identical items listed by sellers. Close this stupid drop down menu multiple items loophole, and extend the “shipping time” as a search parameter to include number of weeks.

- eBay and PayPal service

I think eBay has changed over the years and become more focused on making money rather than looking after its long term customers that are making them money. I choose not to use eBay so much these days to buy and sell as the last straw for me was an item I purchased locally went missing from our local post office before I was able to pick it up. For some reason it went to another person by mistake and was declared lost. I bought the item via eBay and payed via pay pal as I always have done because eBay would like it and push the point that all items are covered for loss with insurance. When I contacted eBay and pay pal with paperwork and evidence of my loss I was refused any compensation with a lovely friendly smile. So thank you eBay and pay pal for a great buying and selling platform but unfortunately really crappy customer service. Regards Mark

- Ripped off

I sold a gold coin in a certified holder that I bought from an actual reputable auction house. The buyer asked to return it but broke open the coin holder and sent back a fake. eBay gave the buyer the money back with out any care that I was missing the gold coin. I had proof on video and everything but they wouldn’t even let me send them the proof. eBay has no interest in looking after its customers just their profits! Face Book market place is a better place to use. eBay is VERY BAD!!! Stay away!! They make u link pay pal to the selling of items or u can’t even sell with them. Ripped of in every direction I go with eBay. How their is not yet a huge class action against the company is surprising because they don’t operate within Australian consumer law. They seem to operate at what ever way goes to their profits only. Can’t wait for them to loose all their customers over time.

- Buggy

Falls far short when it comes to managing items for sale, too many bugs and issues to count. Some item for sale is not there in active listing and not showing up in search of active listing, but is there on the classic website, same for sold items and items awaiting postage. Also not displaying offers when there meant to be. When responding to offers from buyer who request i.e “free postage”...being a seller we need to know buyers location to determine whether we can afford to throw in free postage. Also buyer feedback counter display on offers. Good app but more improvements needed to be truely useful. I like to be able to use the app exclusively, but currently having to use both app and website, so phone and computer instead of just one.

- Recent app updates reduce funtionality

What happened to the ability to view our seller listings in order of the ones most recently listed? This is a major reduction in funtionality for me. I now have to revert to my MacBook to find this info which is not always possible. Also, why are ‘item details’ embedded in a click down box in item listings? This information should be shown clearly without having to search for it. Often buyers will message asking questions that are clearly displayed if they are on a laptop but hidden if browsing on the app. It creates more work for the seller and gives seemingly less clarity for the buyer. All in all this app scrapes through to allow me to work on the run but falls way short of the full screen device experience.

- Not that great

Not sure so much about the app itself, I guess it will need time Ebay’s ranking system seems to be very poor, does not work for the small seller that try’s to obey the rules It’s pretty bad when buy swap and sell seems to work far better I’d like to be loyal to the Ebay brand But it does make you wonder If your a scammer they seem to be protected buy the the establishment The staff may appear to be helpful but truth known, there protecting there jobs There running on a different computer ai system and for what I’ve seen, it’s not good One other thing be very careful buying things for so called Freinds etc, the feds and police and customs will be involved This is also very unprofessional that we can put in any user name and buy something and hence make a costly mistake Also remember say I opened up and account in 2008 well I’ve been a member for 10 years ha Say I wanted records for the ten years I’ve been a member Ok got told we only go back 3 years Ok now come on we pay tax medical police etc and they go back decades So tell me this, how is it that Ebay seem to be exempted Well you answer it for yourself cause I at present still haven’t got an answer back Maybe the government etc should look into Ebay and there subsidies closer They may not like what they might find

- Dodgy Buyers

There needs to be a better system in place to make it easier to open unpaid item disputes within the app. It keeps switching from app to what looks like the mobile site and back again. Also need to get rid of this 4 days business. If they win an item they have 4 days to pay and another 4 for dispute to close. Probably to multiple sellers at a time. These people should be straight up banned from bidding and their accounts, both eBay and PayPal closed. You have all their details so you would know if they just tried to re open an account to their address or bank account. So much wasted time and lost sales. What is our 10% fees going towards exactly??? Should also be able to instantly block users rather than having to add usernames to a list each time.

- Love eBay

I haven’t really ever used eBay but since isolation I have and I love it easy to use and easy to contact seller if you have any concerns. I love that you can put on wish list then getting at really cheap price ! A few things that might need a tweak is getting message from eBay to review a product before receiving the product, things are a little slow with receiving at this time with all that’s going on so would also be good making easy to see what country your purchasing from sometimes I find it hard to see where is coming from, purchasing from your own country is much quicker then oversea.

- Lots of limitations with this app

As a long-term seller on eBay I find the app extremely frustrating that you can’t perform the same functions that you can old fashioned desktop. You can’t cancel sales from the app, you can’t lodge complaints with eBay regarding problems to do with sales, very difficult to list items and the biggest frustration is not being able to see my feedback score on the profile page it just continually has a loading symbol and no detail comes up resulting in having to log into a workstation all the time it drives me insane! I find listing things on marketplace with Facebook is so easy that I’m starting to move my business over there because eBay have just made everything so complicated over the years and have driven all the long-term sellers absolutely crazy. It’s time to simplify your process eBay!!

- EBay Delight!

Have only been a member since beginning of coronavirus, did not have a MasterCard before then, needed one to pay for delivery of prescriptions etc. Had been a bit apprehensive of ordering online but have to say I am so glad I decided to do so. eBay has been so friendly and helpful, I so enjoy buying products online and eagerly await their delivery. I have been able to order items I didn’t think were available to buy anymore, items are easy to order, are delivered much quicker than I thought they would be and arrive in excellent condition. Am so impressed with eBay , am one very happy customer. Thanks heaps eBay 😊

- eBay’s lacks clear steps in for purchasers when a seller disappears

I had previously given eBay 5 Stars which I have reduced to 1 as when a customer is in trouble and needs help, like in the instance when a seller has sold a product, taken the money and then withdrawn the item, the action a customer can take aren’t clear at all. One can’t easily go onto ones purchase list and click on the item as it has been withdrawn. Any website can sell, it’s when the customer doesn’t get the goods and the seller has disappeared is when the process should be more visible and transparent.

- App not working

I've been using eBay for 10 years and this app for probably 8 years or since it came out. Never had any problems until recently it doesn't work on my iPad. Says I need to update the app but I have the updated version. It opens the app and looks fine but shows a notification saying update or exit, but behind the notification the app looks fine just as it always has. When it goes to the App Store it will say "sorry this app is not available or updated for Australia. Can you guys please fix it so I can leave a better review ? Not sure what the deal is. I would otherwise give it 5 stars because I'm a fan but this has just been a real let down with trying to use this app.

- Oh eBay!

The app itself isn’t too bad. What is bad is the search function, and eBay itself!!!! It seems that through the years it has allowed numerous sellers to advertise as if they have products locally or in certain Australian cities. But under close inspection the sellers are all registered in China or Hong Kong, and express post charges are extremely high (one way of identifying them). This brings me to the search function. If you try and search, most of the time(even when applying filters) it appears that most results are either eBay sponsored results or Chinese sellers. I don’t mind waiting a few days for my items, but I would rather pay higher to buy local and not wait weeks. But if I do find a seller selling locally it is a Chinese seller claiming he is in an Australian city but actually isn’t. But eBay doesn’t appear to care!!!!!

- Great way to purchase items from across the globe online

I almost always check eBay for items I’m looking to buy and when I do I often end up buying through eBay. I recently wanted to purchase three of a particular item that was available from multiple sellers in multiple countries but found it impossible to determine which seller had the best deal because many had bulk buying discounts and various postage costs. It would be useful if you could add a quantity to a search and could then sort the results based on the total price + postage costs, or, if you can already do this, for it to be more intuitive as I couldn’t figure out a way to do it.

- Dealing with EBay

eBay is a great site until you have to deal with the administration side of EBay then it becomes your worst nightmare. I have spoken to several various people who all say the same and that’s now why they won’t deal with EBay anymore. My experience with EBay showed me they will not listen and/or answer your requests. It’s scripted and that what the continually send no matter how many times you send a request. Australians would take this as ignorance. It’s a shame EBay have taken this line as they will continue to loose clients due to being too hard to deal with if anything goes wrong and something always go wrong.

- Supporter of scammers

Ebay used to be a decent platform for both buyers and sellers. In recent years, their service to sellers has dropped to zero. Anyone can buy things and then change mind and lodge a false case. Sellers don’t get the items refunded, had to refund money, then must call Ebay to get the fees credited which should have been automatic, then get a negative feedback from that same scammer. Now, when the seller request Ebay to remove the negative feedback, eBay doesn’t care and basically tells the seller to stuff it. Enough of this mistreatments, there’s lot more others platforms, closing my Ebay account for good.

- Charged $40 more

I just bought an Evacool KTM 65 fridge freezer from Caravans RVs add was for $829 no postage then once I purchased it showed it charged $869. I have a screenshot to prove it. Can’t get any response from them except they have got my order suscessfully. Hasn’t been dispatched yet I don’t think. I want the fridge and don’t want to cancel order. Just get charged advertised price. I like eBay have the app on my phone but one thing I don’t like is every now and then they want me to sign in. Why!! Very annoying when they tell me my password isn’t sting enough they talk me into changing it then next time I can’t remember it but would have if they didn’t get me to chance it. Very very annoying!!!!!!

- Love it, but..

Really like the usage of the app, easy too use. Only thing that its lacking is the feature to be able to open a case if your having an issue with a seller, the only way too do that is through the desktop app version which the app refers you too, when you are about too open a claims case. There should be an easier way to do it through the app. Other than that bidding and buying items is a breeze and real easy too use, and linking your paypal account is seemless. Summary, good app easy too use but needs a feature for opening cases easier.

- No new items in saved searches

Since the last update, I’m getting no results for all my saved searches. There are no blue dots indicating there are “new items” and on viewing the results of a saved search, which sorts by newly listed, the results are all almost a week old. If I manually search for the keyword newer results display, however it seems the postcode based search is what’s breaking search results. Normally each saved search normally gets new items every hour and now all my searches get no results, so it’s not simply that there aren’t any searches to display. But it means all my searches in my area are useless. I’ve tried resaving my saved searches and reinstalling the app but with no success. Right now there’s no way to look for local results.

- Horrible service /shopping experience

I have been a long term customer on eBay . But recently I have been through the worst service/ shopping experience which made me delete the app immediately. I purchased one item and paid$2.5 the postage from an recommended store from eBay. The item has no description at all. When the item arrived, it didn’t fit the device I have, which became totally useless to me. So I request a refund. But because I chose “ the item doesn’t fit” so the stupid eBay system considered my case as ” change my mind “ scenario, which left me to pay the return postage and provide the tracking number which will cost $8.95 But the postage from seller was packed with normal envelopes with 2 stamps which costs $2.2 that I already paid for. Which means if I want to return the item, I have to pay more than the value of the actual item($7.5) This is really ridiculous / unfair way that eBay setup for refund cause lots of trouble and stress to me. Now my request still sitting there as I don’t have a tracking number to provide. Don’t think I get my money back at all. Wasted $ 10 for a lesson/ horrible experience. I have done with stupid eBay. Won’t recommend to anyone!!!!

- Where else would you look

My go to shopping centre for everything I need...electronics, automotive, tooling, household items, fashion etc (except food haha). I’m a long time member so I’ve bought many things from sellers from different corners of the globe...and true to their word the products have arrived on time and in there described state. You can communicate sellers too to ensure the product is the right one for you and rate them also when you receive your goods. Make sure you read the item descriptions properly as some products can not be returned....happy shopping

- Buggy app and annoying customer experience

The presentation of the same products every time other new items are notified in my searches is very annoying. eBay doesn’t seem to be as effective for selling as it used to be so I’m tending to go direct to company sites to purchase new items and using Facebook marketplace more often. For a start there are no outrageous fees - including a percentage of the postage costs ??? - from Facebook. And when purchasing, marketplace is easy too because I can choose how I want to pay, not be forced to pay via PayPal. Lots of opportunity to improve eBay. You’re no longer the best.

- Terrible Update - Less functional

As a seller I like to keep an eye on every aspect of selling an item; from payment status right through to feedback from both parties. The previous app did that at a glance, on one page, for all items I am selling, by using the same icons that are used in the website for payment, shipping and feedback sent and received. The new app does some of this by showing the 'current status' as text, eg: SENT, but these four steps don't always happen in the same order every time. Feedback may arrive before shipping esp. when buying. Even when you click on the item for more info, it only shows you the auction details, not the 'after auction' details. I cant see in this list when a sold item receives feedback. Quite frustrating. Layout is clunky and chunky. In this case less is not more. It may become more familiar after some use, but it still won't easily show me feedback status. Latest version: freezes when viewing item photos! And takes ages to load base pages such as Purchases.

- More options in Purchased section

I love Ebay and the app however could we please have a ‘leave feedback’ column in the purchased section? I used to leave feedback then delete the item so I knew what was left to arrive but I can’t do that anymore :( it’s terrible I’m forgetful and I buy lots of things every week it’s so hard now keeping track of what’s arrived because nothing can be deleted anymore. It’s great seeing everything I’ve ever purchased but having a separate column for things that need feedback would make the app perfect :) thank you :)

- Latest update is poor

The latest update removed the ability to see whether I’d left feedback for an item in my Purchased items list. I use this as my way of keeping track of whether I have physically received and checked my item. The “Delivered” status is of no use to me because sometimes they say “Delivered” when I haven’t yet received them. Seeing whether I’ve left feedback is an important feature! Why remove it!??!? And there’s no bug report method or anywhere to leave any feedback for the app other than here. Not happy.

- Ebayer’s

This site gives you the opportunity to immediately compare prices on any product , including postage costs , while Street Shopping or Shopping Centre Malls ; comparing prices instantly ; which puts the bargaining power back into the consumers hands worldwide comparison price , makes & models etc etc Another great feature is the alerts to lower price of products in advance or Ebay’s % discount offers to Ebay members & guarantees on products ; safety netting the purchaser by become the worldwide consumer watch dog & protector of everyone’s private details & purchases Thank you

- Terrible upgrade

eBay does not seem to care, despite hundreds of thousands users pointing out search manipulation by unscrupulous sellers. The app has progressive made it harder for buyers to search for items with a LOT of sellers using multiple listings with a cheap item to get to the top of a search result. The first app had a notice “more options” right when you searched it. Then eBay did away with that but you could still catch these listings because the price was displayed as a range. Now the latest edition displays only one price, the lowest, and you actually have to go in to the listing to be cheated. Very poor, eBay.

- Incredibly annoying App

Repeated requests to write a review every few clicks - well here you go: Too frequent app updates just so eBay can spam you with advertisements -the app experience doesn’t actually improve, you just waste vast amounts of data updating the app so you can get new advertisements thrown at you Search function drives you nuts as it clears the filter every new search -even for very minor text edits / refinements you need to re- apply the whole filter over and over and over and over again In App functionality very limited -eg your purchase history almost doesn’t exist Confusing terminology: you “watch” an item, but on the home screen watched items are called “saved” items and you get alerts for “watched” items And why do apps like this always want to email notifications to you? Yes you can turn them off, but even having email notifications is such a 1990s thing. Who needs more emails? And finally why doesn’t the AU App have a proper eBay motors App?

- In it's own time zone

I've had this problem for quite a while and it is getting worse! I have my phone set in the automatic time setting and know for a fact it is spot on on time, yet when I use the eBay app it runs to a different time that's currently about 1 minute and 10 seconds faster than the actual time. As eBay is an auction site that is pretty much dependant on actual time this creates a very large problem when you bid and the auction in your app finishes over a minute before it does for anyone else and as a result I've been outbid several times when this has happened. Can you fix this!!?? It used to be around 10 seconds different but now it's over a minute I think it is beyond a joke!!

- The shopping app that sets the bar.

Should be five stars, but, Please fix four very annoying problems. Buying history disappears too quickly. I can't see what items haven't turned up so loose money too often, and often don't get to leave feedback. Also why are sellers allowed to show a different cheaper price to what is pictured? Just because they offer an item in the list for $1. The item in the main photo is much more expensive. The cheaper item should be a separate listing, this makes shopping too time consuming and is not very ethical or easy to navigate, especially items such as mobile phones. Very annoying. Items that are in countries that do not ship to Australia should not be in my feed. Your settings should be kept instead of resetting them again for every new search. Other than this, great app. I'm a unashamed self confessed eBay addict. I use it every day. These issues need to be addressed please. Then this app will be perfect. Thank you, Lisa.

- Great App but...

I love eBay on any device however, there's some things you just can't get to on the iPad & iPhone, which you can on the laptop or desktop. For instance if I want to search my purchase history, on my iPad or iPhone, I just can't do it. But it shows my entire watch list okay. I can't block buyers who commit to buying & then don't pay & there's a few other small things I can't think of right now. It would be great to be able to fully use this app, just like I can on the laptop. But overall it's a reasonably good app to use.

- Can be great

3 stars maybe even 2 rather then 5.... why? The eBay international global shipping program doesn't make much sense to me. I purchased something a few weeks ago, the seller was a 16 hour drive from me, yet global shipping sent it on a trip that was half way round the world from me, and took two weeks to show up. eBay needs or should have east and west central shipping depots with their international global shipping program, because I won't use it again because of this experience.

- Can't organize my Collection

Can't organize my Collection on app and add items on collections

- Not good at all

I hate it soooo much i live in Canada but every time I change the settings to Canada it changes back to United States I have tried every this app is the worst!!!!!

- Bad shipping. Don’t bother.

They don’t bother shipping during the pandemic. I lost a few hundred dollars because they can’t be bothered to refund you for lost items. It’s a waste of time and money. Don’t bother with eBay.

- can’t sell

can’t setup an acc it always lags and crashes

- Why are shipping prices so crazy

I have been on ebay a long time at one time it was a good place to shop now people are putting there shipping prices so high that it is a joke. A small $20.00 piece and $90.00 shipping. Used to love shopping on ebay. But makes more sense to shop at Amazon, sorry

- Camera bugs

A lot of camera bugs while posting pictures with iPhone app 🤷🏼‍♂️

- Most devs would finish an app before releasing it.

Even with filters it feels like sifting through a landfill. Fix overbearing tags/ tag spam. Fix duplicate posts so you don’t scroll for 5 minutes and see the same three listings over and over.

- My purchase not activated to check even the item hasn’t come yet.

In my purchase history, some of my purchased items may take months to come. These items were disabled to check the delivery or leave feedback. System may treat these historical, however they’re still on the go.

- Global shipping is a scam

I have been an eBay seller and buyer for over 10 years and eBay now is ripping people off with their global shipping program. They charge duties on things that don’t need duties charged and as well they charge duties in American dollar which which adds an additional 30-40% cost to the actual amount you should be paying at the door. I realize there is a cost of doing business but this is ridiculous. There’s one more item that I am looking for and then after that my decade with eBay will be over. I recommend All Canadians should boycott eBay.

- update, cant use the app anymore

it’s really great that the latest update requires ios12 or later deleting the app

- Needs Dark mode

Dark mode still isn’t available. I literally find myself avoiding the app because of it.

- Wonderful app very fast service

Excellent products Fully satisfied Whole range of products Most competitive and complete site

- Ebay sucks . PERIOD

Sellers BEWARE eBay is the play-field for all the scammers.. it doesnt matter what you sell, how well and proper the description of your items is... all buyer has to do is “this is not as described” and you lose your money and items!!! And the nail on coffin is you CANT even give negative feedback to buyers.. its just NOT an option.. but buyers can “blackmail” you to post negative feedback if you dont do their demands. F eBay!

- Can’t cancel payments

Accendently purchased something and I couldn’t cancel it immediately right after.

- I can’t even post a listing on the app! Fix it!

The app has bugs that it needs so fix so people can actually post listings. When I post a listing for clothing it asks for the size, and I select it but then it disappears seconds later. You can’t post a listing without selecting the size of the clothing! It needs to be fixed!

- Just terrible

I’ve been an eBay member for 11 years. I’m finally calling it quits because of the terrible terrible resolution center. The high bidders on my items never pay, the items I buy never arrive, and just recently a seller would not accept a return on a broken dslr they sold me. eBay won’t even let me delete my account, google it and you’ll see it’s actually not possible due to a “programming error” that has existed for at least 7 years. eBay is dead. Long live amazon.

- Terrible service if your a seller , great if your a buyer

If you try to sell stuff on eBay watch out there are so many scammers out there claiming your products never arrived or damaged or fakes and you have to give them a full refund. eBay sides with the buyer in a heart beat. If your buying stuff it’s a great place to get free stuff apparently. Just claim it never arrived and you get full refund back ! Can’t go wrong

- Works, mostly

I like the convenience of eBay on the phone. But, one thing my app used to do, but has stopped is swipe for save for later. Now both options are remove from cart. ??? I have tried to find out why.

- Ebay is the best.

Simple, I love all the safety in place for the buyers.

- eBay

Not working well on my iPad! Information dropped, freezes in certain data entry pop-ups. Switched to browser mode, information dropped there as well. What’s going on at eBay?

- Bad seller and also worst policy and customer response system by ebay

Zero star Seller telling to wait more a month and the product order 5 months ago and still waiting. Now ending up by seller said he cant refund because of long time and pay pall policy

EBay raised their fee to 15%. I did the calculation on multiple sold stuff on my eBay. 15% IS WAY TOO MUCH. At this point, I highly recommend to not use eBay for sales 🤦‍♂️ this is ridiculous.

- Perfect

Great quality, exactly as described.

- Calculated shipping not working on app

I input my weight and dimensions and go to select the shipping carrier and it does not show the calculated shipping option

- Buggy

The app is buggy, it makes you sign in dozens of times though out registration process and when I could finally make posts the app made me sign in with a security code that didn’t work. Infuriating. Wasted an hour.

- Just trying it out

So far so good

- Great app

The eBay app is really great, however I have to go on the desktop sometimes to complete certain tasks. I’m hoping the developers will fix this soon, so I can do everything I need to do from the app. Absolutely love using the app though!!

- App Sucks Right Now

This app totally sucks right now. They’ve made a change so now you’re only allowed to charge a flat rate for shipping, or offer free shipping. If you want to enter the package details and have eBay calculate the shipping, you must use the desktop computer - since all the photos are on my phone, I have to start the listing on my phone, then login on my computer to actually list the item. Very poor!

- It’s eBay

So, it’s eBay... If you don’t know eBay you should.

- Spend money

I’ve bought so many hockey cards I feel like a hockey player:)

- Customer service Is trash

Ebay just suddenly blocked my account for 0 reasons. After contacting customer service, Lisa, the customer representative assigned to me took extremely a long time to answer questions that did not answer the questions at all. Example Question: Why are you blocking me? her answer: Ebay has restricted your account. Super not helpful and wouldn't want to bring her manager. Terrible service from Ebay and Lisa

- Ebay love

Thank you for existing!

- Over charged

I was charged $2496.57 when the approximate about shown on my order was $2243.10which is $254 over the approximate amount. I had to cancel my order due to the wrong shipping address. A refund $2354.49 was refunded to my account for cancelling my order due to the wrong address. My refund was short of $142.08 I placed my order again with the correct shipping address. I was charged again $2496.57 again for my order. Total charges $2496.57 x 2 = $4993.14 Refund $2354.96 I’m charged $2638.65 for an order that was supposed to be $2243.10 My card is over charged $395.55 just because I had to cancel my order due to wrong shipping address. I found a phone number to contact eBay which is no longer in service. I contacted the seller and was told eBay handles changes. If this matter isn’t resolved I will be cancelling my entire order under full refund money back guarantee.

- Amazing

I’ve used eBay for as long as I can remember. This mobile app is the way to do it. It’s so simple to use, and not as pricey as amazon.

- Create account

I can’t even create a account with my iPhoneX I put in my name and email and it tells me to put a password. It wouldn’t even let me put a password to continue..... it just highlights the area with “strong password” in all yellow..... it wouldn’t even let type my password..... I would give it half a star but the lowest I can give is 1 star.

- The best platform online

Awesome support, had to open a live chat twice and got very well served by intelligent people! Thanks for existing eBay ! Pristinecards87

- Worst customer service

My account is blocked for no reason ans there’s way to talk to customer service. What a f joke.

- eBay update 2021

New updates sucks I can’t even update the damm app Apple needs to fix this please

- Wth

I keep trying to set mu location back to canada and it keeps logging me out and setting it to america also my password never works what the hell its so frustrating

- Bad news

Merci EBay !!!!

- Changes

Get rid of the watch reminders. have a setting to turn off offers. I dont need a stupid offer every two days for my watch list of 4 items.

- Best place to shop

Theres really no competition. From electric hardware to phone accessories all the way to mid-range watches - this is my go-to store for anything online.

- Glitchy and Scammy

The app can be glitchy in the various steps required to list items for sale. For this reason and because of the many item details required to post, it takes a long time to get an item officially up for sale through the app. After finally listing my items, they were almost immediately ‘purchased’ by scammers. eBay obviously does not vet buyer accounts in any way. eBay did spot the scam before I reported it, but the result was that they deleted my listings? So I cannot relist and need to start from scratch with the glitchy, time consuming listing process because of a problem with THEIR system. Seeking help/info within the app does not flow and is far easier on desktop. Really disappointed with eBay as a seller.

- Amazing app. Even better than the web because I can search my watch list!!!

Thank goodness

- Garbage app

Use alibaba much better

- Almost Twenty Years on eBay

Over the years many improvements have been made to make it is easier to use eBay for selling. The most significant for me is the fact I no longer have to keep manual records to control shipping and payments, etc. The evolution of eBay has worked in my favour, to sell what I no longer need and to buy to feed my need to collect things.
