EBay: Buy & Sell Marketplace Comments & Reviews 2022

- Superb

I don’t write reviews for apps but I feel I’ve used this app long enough to know I should write a review. I’ve been using this app since 2015, since I got my first job and a debit card. It’s been good to me thus earning a 5 Star rating and my experience with the app or just the website in general has been superb. I’ve bought many things from impulsive to necessary which I can say has gotten me to spend a lot of money but was given the convenient opportunity of shopping from sellers all across the globe. This app is the reason why I was able to save money on camera gear and even buying a computer to start my own freelancing career in photography and art. Where I’m from, we don’t have taxes but the things I’m looking for can be a little to pricey for my wallet and I get offers on eBay to save a bit of money and free shipping. I can shop at a certain big name website ( starts with an A and ends with an N *you know what I mean ) but shipping is never free, NEVER but eBay is for me and that’s a major plus. I could sit here writing a review on my experience with this app all day long but to summarize it all in this one review, it’s a good app and it’s easy to use. Everyone has probably used eBay at one point in their lives and some probably got ripped off and ignored eBay entirely but for those who’ve stayed as long as I have probably had more good experiences that outweigh the bad ones and that’s enough to keep me around.

- eBay’s auction failure

What happened to me is not something eBay should let happen to it’s customers! I have been trying to get help for my situation but have found none. I am stuck in a ongoing experience of disappointment and poor customer service all because I won a auction. After winning a auction, ebay will send you a email to say all you have to do is pay and you can receive your item, however, if the seller decides never to ship to item and tries to cancel the sale you will get no message or notification and eBay doesn’t seem to care if you’re waiting for weeks. I have been waiting of over a month for a refund with a uncaring, unprofessional seller who tells me they’re trying to cancel the order but eBay won’t let them. As far as I can tell my seller wishes to cancel the order because they accidentally sold the item to me for less money they wanted to and they are greedy and or don’t understand how auctions work. My seller canceled my sale under “out of stock/damage” while trying to sell the EXACT same item again. That shouldn’t happen! eBay should inform sellers to set the starting bid of a item at the minimum price they want to sell the item. Everyone I know says, to win a eBay auction make your bid at the last 10 seconds of the time limit. How ridiculous! It would be smarter if every time someone places a bid the time limit is be extended for a 60 seconds. I’m never doing a eBay auction again unless they change. I really wonder if I’ll ever get my money back too

- Ridiculous eBay moderation team

I’ve been selling and buying through eBay for a long time and I also sell many different app with no negative feedback. The issues is not receiving negative or positive reviews but eBay has a team that you can request to remove negative feedback I contacted with customer agent and they do not have authorization to do it and other department can not speak with you . There is an customer agent name angela , who told me I will put a request for speaking with my supervisor whose name “ max “ and we will contact with you in 24 hours Nobody either called or sent any messages since I have received very unfair feedback that I did not even make business ( customer paid and I refunded her ) In eBay platform buyer has a right to give you a feedback even though there is no sales between buyer and seller this is ridiculous!! there is no other sales app as an example of this matter ! I will leave the platform cuz there are tons of Low iq people that can give you negative feedback for a mistake that shipping carrier makes such usps ships the box next door of buyer door and person gives you bad review for a mistake does not even in your hands either relatives your company !! But eBay does not remove the feedback don’t even waste your time they tell you speak with the person that gave u the feedback you wanna remove (very much problem solving approach)

- eBay is A-Ok!

I love eBay because they always have interesting, unusual, sometimes hard-to-find things that pop into my mind. Some of those things include a mini tape recorder, the extremely fun books The Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film by Michael Weldon, and If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor by Bruce Campbell, and any book, frankly! When it finally occurred to me I could buy second hand books for dirt cheap on eBay (perfectly readable AND in good condition), I’ll never buy a brand new book again! It just doesn’t make logical sense given the option. DVDs and Blu-rays are a little different because they COULD be scratched.. but regardless, I’ve had good luck with them. If someone says “Brand new and sealed,” odds are it’s safe. I even found MR. ARKADIN (from the brilliant Orson Welles) on Criterion. Speaking of which, it’s a great way to save on DVDs/Blu-rays on Criterion, since they’re usually $40 brand new at any Barnes & Noble. But anything you can think of, there’s a good chance they just might have it.. from a movie or book you’ve been having trouble locating, to a CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON mask. Literally. Basically, I would highly recommend eBay to anyone who loves cool, interesting things they don’t necessarily need; material things that make life even more enjoyable and satisfying. Happy hunting! 😁😎🙌🏼 A very satisfied customer, - Jake

- Upgrade your app

With many fads these days, opportunity is quick to pass by. Do not miss the opportunity to stay ahead of any competition. UPGRADE THE APP. Mobility is the path of the future. More and more people are starting to live on the go and the app is much easier to access while traveling. There are SO MANY features available on the website that are not available through the app. This costs the company tons of money by not adding many of the selling features. There are other things as well, such as the ability to send invoices, issue refunds, have better watch lists, having a better selling centers for eBay stores among others. You should also expand the ability save more drafts for a longer period of time as well as the ability to go further back on items sold by a seller. 2 months is ridiculous. Even the ability to go further back in terms of items bought would be smarter (2-3 years is great but 5-7 years would be much smarter). The search algorithms could also use some serious work. There have been numerous times where I was searching for items using key words in the titling and still have to search for 3-4 different terms to find items. You should also expand the “similar items” section and REALLY do some work on that. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out. I work for a Fortune 500 company and spend much of my free time on the app. I can provide some useful insight. Thanks.

- You Cancelled Dr. Seuss???

I was really disappointed in eBay’s decision to pull some of Dr. Seuss’s children’s books from its listings. I think the culture in America, corporate or otherwise, has given in enough to these irrational demands to rewrite our history. I also think the decision to take this course of action without being given evidence of blatant racism in Seuss’s books but rather critiques of alleged overtones found by modern critical race theorists is a scapegoat move on the part of eBay to avoid taking part in a larger discussion. I have found it to be true that people who rarelysee specific prejudice in media but instead feel that certain offensive but obscure messages are being conveyed subliminally are actually projecting their own prejudiced thoughts onto someone else’s work. Seuss wrote books about environmental conservation and social responsibility. I highly doubt he was taking the time to work cheap shots at other minorities into his stories. Were some of the conventional wisdom depictions that he used then be considered stereotypes today? Maybe to some. Would anyone, including himself, have thought the same thing when these books were being published initially? No. Does he deserved to be judged and censored by today’s ludicrous standards? Absolutely not.

- Problems inside the app....

I don’t like the new format. While building ads, I should be able to turn features off and never be asked those questions again, like allowing the seller to give me a half price offer, shipping the item for free, or if I want consider reducing the price over time. Though those options might be consider by some, they absolutely don’t work for me and it adds extra time and worry to building an eBay ad. I would like to see, easier access for creating sales, easier distribution of my sale flier (past, non- following buyers), and more apparent of the actual things I purchase. They need to remove “sell” and “selling” terms on the front page, as it makes it more confusing to navigate. Finally, though buyer protection is nice, there needs to be a better follow through investigation on return items. Many times the buyers circumvent my “no return” clause, with made up conditions just to make me look like a bad seller. Often times, the past buyer’s have confessed that they did not read my description; only the title. This gives me an unfair advantage to me because they didn’t do due diligence before that bought the item. I am always willing to further express my on going concerns. I have been a seller for a few years and have experienced several changes. I need some cooperation from EBay in order for me to continue as the luster of being a seller is starting to fade fast. Please let me know, Tom

- Convenient and Easy to Use.. PLEASE READ

I have been a seller on EBay since 2004 and to this day I still love to sell and buy. This app is my go to nowadays. Selling is a breeze and this app makes it that way. Take a picture with your phone or tablet and post your item within a few minutes. Buying can be easy as well if you find what you need and check out, especially if what you are purchasing is new. BUT.. If you are comparing used items, it can get a little tricky. When you are looking for a particular product and there are several different listings of that product, I tend to look at the same listing over and over again if the listing looks similar. This is a pain when there are 25+ of the same product. Therefor I would love to see a option to hide a sellers product that I know I definitely do not want. My idea is...from the list of items, just slide the product you are no longer considering to the left or right and touch hide so you wouldn’t be able to see that listing just for the time you are presently on the app. I’m sure I’m not the only ebay customer that is meticulous when choosing which product to purchase, especially when it’s used. It would save your buyer so much time! Please consider this option and thank you!

- A Better Shopping Experience

I’ve been with EBAY almost 20 years and I’ve never once had a bad buying or selling experience that caused me some sort of anxiety to the point I wanted to cancel my membership. I can always trust that the reviews and ratings given to both parties are accurate in helping me to decide if they are a legitimate, honest and straight forward EBAY’ER before I do business with them. A much larger online store booted me from making anymore consumer reviews through my buying profile because I was giving them too many good reviews. They said it was because of the descriptive “review wording” I was using that caused some suspicion and perhaps I was favoring that company more so over the others. Could you believe that! Reviews are meant to critique both the buyer and sellers shopping experience so other consumers can evaluate them and decide for themselves if they want to do business with them or not. Also, I don’t mind waiting a few extra days of shipping to receive my product through EBAY because I know it will be what I ordered to begin with, and If I have any issues, I can trust it will be handled in a professional and friendly manner without any hassle. For me, I’m back to doing more of my shopping on EBAY. It’ll be worth it.

- eBay is excellent

Love the eBay app .. and everything about eBay My favorite place to get the things I like Aloha .. Dean The only problem is I’ve called and explained a bad review to eBay that wasn’t erased as I spent many hours on the phone with eBay after I even finally got the buyer he gives me an unfair review making it very difficult to sell other items now plus actually lost money and spent many hours at home trying to give this guy his refund and I hope you will erase it as he claims he Accidentally pushed purchase but then how could he accidentally go to checkout and pay .. then I get all the blame it’s very sad Also I’m trying to bid on several inexpensive items and my restrictions still haven’t been lifted as I explained to the eBay customer service on the phone I’ve been in and out of the hospital from a hip replacement surgery where I wasn’t allowed access to my iPhone or laptop as they said it could interfere with the medical equipment and when I was released the items were already won at auction but unable to pay and then I got the restrictions as you can see I’ve been a loyal customer buying hundreds of items and would appreciate the bidding restrictions lifted please … thank you kindly.. Dean

- Fun place to shop “ EBay

I have been with EBay for several years now ! I have enjoyed it the whole time ! I shop on here because I can find what I want and not have to get out on the road to go find it ! Not only do you have the convenience from shopping at home but a good chance it’s going to be cheaper ! Your not burning gas and your safer shopping from your own home ! I don’t have to walk down aisle after aisle either ! I just use my fingertip ! I just found an item here on EBay that I could not find anywhere ! I’ve made a few calls and was given different phone numbers and not one helped ! I got on EBay and found it ! Yea ... I was real surprised ! I admit I did contact them several times to see if it was the real pieces I needed ! They even sent measurements of the part and everything was exactly the same size ! I just purchased it and just so happens that this review popped up ! I had to do it because this last purchase was one that I thought would not happen after all the calling I have done and a lot of internet research ! I thought all that time looking for these parts that I was not going to have any luck ! I got on EBay and found it in about 5 minutes ! I purchased it and now I will wait for it to be delivered !

- Don’t recommend them for selling anymore

I’ve been with eBay since 2008. Recently had an issue with a buyer that asked for a refund which I clearly stated it did not offer refunds all sales were final in the listing. Item was sent out packaged with double wall foam and bubble wrap as well as even more bubble wrap in the original box. He states I sent him a defective item yet stated he has the exact graphics card that is doing the exact same thing. Fact he has my card and his card doing the exact same thing equals either a driver issue or hardware incompatibility. I said look I’ll just refund you and send me the card back. But I was having so much anxiety from the whole situation and frustration I said keep the card keep the money and be done with it. After so many years with eBay I am finally going to put in a request to permanently close my account. eBay does nothing to protect its sellers and let’s you get ripped off. I’m out money and a graphics card. It is what it is though can’t let him get to me, just keep in mind buyers on eBay will do this to you, they will buy from you then don’t know what they are doing complain and get to keep your item and money. It’s just not worth it anymore to sell here. It’s been a good couple of years, that helped me offset paying for new computer builds selling my old hardware in original boxes and packaging. but if you plan to sell here keep in mind eBay will always screw the seller over.

- eBay

eBay has been my go to site for years. I find the best price on what I’m looking for about 90% of the time. It may take longer to get the price if waiting for an auction to end but if It’s not something needed immediately it’s worth the wait. Make sure to read full description of the item so it’s in the condition you want. Do not rely solely on the fist page of a listing since some may have errors such as being listed as new but full description will say open box. New open box may be fine for personal use but if you’re looking for gifts make sure it is new/never opened. If it’s not clearly stated don’t be afraid to ask the seller. Better to ask than go through the hassle of having to return the item. If a problem arises, with an item described wrong or receiving something not as pictured, eBay will work with you to get a full refund. People make mistakes, it will happen, be sure to follow guidelines for return. Do not just return an item without starting a return on eBay or getting confirmation from the seller and make sure to do it ASAP and include a packing list and return ID#. Once you get used to eBay and how it works you will find it’s a great shopping site.

- Please fix saved item removal feature.

When I go to delete some of my many old saved items, the app takes me back to the top of my shopping cart after each item that I delete. Then I have to scroll all the way back down the long list to delete the next one. This is the case with items that are no longer available as well that I just want to clear off my saved for later list. It becomes a very time consuming process especially because if I want to move an new item out of my cart for later I often cannot because the app won’t allow it because I have reached the limit of saved items. This is especially a problem when I’m trying to make a purchase of several items but have other items in my cart that I am still considering and just want to save them a while longer. I need to remove them from my cart so I can purchase the things I need for just that particular day but the app won’t allow it and so I go to delete some old items to make room but the app takes me back to the top of the list so I can’t make the purchase quickly if I want to save my previously carted items. All this causes me to delay my purchases and frustrates my shopping experience. Please fix the app so that I can just quickly remove the older items from the bottom of the saved list and still stay at the same place in the list without going back to the top. Please, please and thank you.

- App works great on iOS/iPadOS/macOS

**Update 28 September 2022** It turns out the problem with the app was my setup. I have a 2nd external monitor on my m1 mac and that triggers macOS that I'm sharing since it's using the displayLink technology. For some reason it just dawned on me today and I unplugged that monitor and was able to login. It's by design of Apple. There was no way for eBay to handle this. So other than that the app is fantastic. I can quickly view my purchase history and search for products on all of my Apple devices. Old review - Login doesn't work The app logged me out after not using it for a few weeks and the login no longer works on an m1 mac. The screen turns white after a split second. I uninstalled the app and cleared all of the cache/settings that is left over and the same problem happens. seems to be only this view also. If I try to create a new account or try to login via another method those views do NOT turn all white. I don't understand how this got past SQA. app is now useless. It is a little clunky anyways on the m1 mac, but it's nice to have an app instead of going to a website. For now I'll stick with the website since I have no other choice.

- Good for buyers, bad for sellers

My site says NO RETURNS. But recently a buyer said that my item was not as described, eBay AUTOMATICALLY accepted the return, without letting me protect myself. This was a jet black fur, which my 12 photos showed that the fur was indeed deep black, but the return was granted to the buyer who said the fur was brown. The eBay representative who looked at my 12 photos said that the photos showed that the fur was definitely Black. There was a rug on my floor in the photo which was brown, black, and beige, and you could clearly see that the black in the rug was the same as in the fur, and you could clearly see the brown color in the rug. There was photos too of this sweater on my off white sofa, and you could see that the fur was jet black. The Philippine representative told me that its an automatic return policy that eBay has if the buyer says not as described! The Philippine rep also said it’s better for me that I take back the item even if it’s buyers remorse, BUT THATS RIDICULOUS! Why should I pay the shipping both ways! Why should I lose money! WHERE IS MY SELLER PROTECTION!! EBAYS NEW POLICY IS VERY BAD. EBAY BUYERS KNOW THIS AND ARE ABUSING THE SYSTEM. My seller asked me why I’m protesting her return.. as she put it “ no one else protested her return!” She then continued to tell me that my sweater was the wrong color black! At present my fur jacket is on the way back to me. WHY IS EBAYS ALLOWING BUYERS TO ABUSE THE SYSTEM!

- New image search “feature” ruins experience

Whoever designed the new “touch the screen to start an image search” “feature” has obviously never used the mobile app. This new “feature” ruins the browsing experience. I don’t even want to spend time on the app anymore... You folks should use your own app more often; Most of us actual users do this: search for an item, then browse the long list of items that come up using our thumb by 1a) resting our thumb on the lower area of the screen until we’re done looking at the current set of items on the screen 2) then moving it up the screen to scroll and get the next set of items. Or 1b) even if we don’t rest our thumb for the entire time on the screen, there’s a delay from when we touch the screen to when we scroll (this delay is our brains processing information). Now if my thumb doesn’t IMMEDIATELY move upon touching the screen it causes the “image search” feature to pop up and it COMPLETELY ruins the experience and flow and enjoyment and everything that makes browsing eBay anything resembling good. I’m typically pretty accepting and understand that nothing is perfect and take the good and the bad with apps and other things. But this is just silly, anyone that uses the app can see how much this ruins the browsing experience. It really makes me not want to use it anymore...

- eBay screws over new sellers. Prioritize another platform!

Full of scammers and not made to support new sellers. I uploaded one product a day, for a month, only ever getting buy requests from scammers asking me to text them, which I would just ignore, only having replied to one or two to figure out if it was legit. When I finally made my first legitimate sale, eBay decided to suspend me indefinitely almost immediately because of “suspicious activity” on my account. I read all their rules of compliance and I don’t believe I did anything suspicious or harmful to the community to deserve a permanent ban. Customer service is near impossible to get a hold of. Had to resort to messaging them on Twitter and even then they wouldn’t tell me a reason as to why they banned me. It’s infuriating. They essentially have a platform full of scammers and choose to ban people who follow the rules and don’t list anything disingenuous. You can google search other people that have had the same thing happen to them. I’m not a unique case. Not only that but they waited until after I shipped my product before banning me and are withholding my funds for a month. It was sold Dec. 8th and they won’t pay out until Jan. 8th. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m not down a product, a platform and my profit because of their stupid decision. Small businesses beware and do not make eBay your primary selling platform. They’ll screw you over and will not care at all.

I just wanted to take minute and say, THANK YOU TO ALL THE EMPLOYEES AT EBAY! If you look back on your first Ebay purchase, it was AWESOME, a new way to shop, but also sell. Then another player got into the Online Seller, and yeah, I have purchased from that place, but like a good old friend, I find myself always opening my EBAY App, if for nothing more than to browse, however that usually ends in a purchase…….perhaps you shop in the BIGGEST BOX STORE CHAIN, and if you do, and are like me, buy things you don’t need because there is so much…..EBAY, SAME WAY! I purchase so many things from EBay, things I wasn’t looking for, but things I always wanted, but could never find, AND, I DID NOT HAVE TO LEAVE MY HOME!!! Unless you live under a rock, we are all aware of the ABSOLUTE LAWLESSNESS IN MANY CITIES, AND RAMPANT STEALING AND CREATING A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION FOR ONE TO BE IN, JUST BECAUSE YOU WENT INTO A STORE TO SHOP….I pray it ends and soon, but with EBAY, YOU NEVER HAVE TO PUT YOURSELF IN ONE OF THOSE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS!!! So, if you are like me, if you have wandered, reintroduce yourself to OUR FIRST ONLINE SHOPPING FRIEND, AND SAY HELLO, AND TRY AND MAKE YOU PURCHASES FROM EBAY, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!! As for me, THANK YOU MY OLE FRIEND, YOU MAKE COMING BACK, JUST LIKE ONE NEVER LEFT!!!

- Beware of scammers

Their are plenty of scammers on this app! I have been using eBay for a very long time now going on 4 years and throughout these years I’ve had items come damaged, bad seller communication, lost packages. Bu to after my last few encounters I’m going to stop using eBay. I won a bid and the items value is worth a a bit more but I got it at a great price. I was the only bidder and I kept asking the seller to ship my item first she says she’s out of town and will ship by the weekend. Never did only created a shipping label and when weeks had gone by I started to call multiple ups locations, all of them said the seller didn’t ship the item. So I opened a case and nothing ever came about it. The seller was not happy with how much she sold the item for and decided to play the blame game and blame it on ups. Then recently another seller I asked her multiple times did she have a item in stock and she says yes then when I bought the items she messages me a few days later to say she doesn’t have the item and sends out items I didn’t request anyways. Last but not least I bought shoes in a ad and it showed a left and right shoe but was shocked when only a left shoe came in the mail and the seller wanted me to buy the right too! I think eBay needs way better management and to find better ways to resolve issues because I truly don’t understand how sellers get away with these things!

- No Customer Service and Random Bans

I was banned for no reason “ Your account was suspended because it exhibits a risk to eBay and to its community. As eBay is an Internet-based business, and its members are our customers, we must carefully weigh the risks involved in allowing users on our site. From time to time, we find accounts that present a level of risk that is unacceptable and are, therefore, suspended.” I literally posted 5 pokemon cards I was trying to sell from my childhood then five days later received a ban. The contact us didn’t have an email or phone number, it had a virtual agent which claimed the issue was likely a payment issue, but couldn’t put me in contact with a live agent. I finally gave up went on my computer to view the desktop version after 30 minutes finally found a phone number which I called and it said something like“this phone number is an error” before hanging up. I finally found a form for an email and filled it out, clicked the button to receive a copy of email (which I never did), but I finally got a response back with that message. Long story short, don’t waste your time with eBay. I’m lucky and my issue doesn’t involve me losing any money (just several hours of my time in an attempt to make a few extra bucks), but you could encounter an issue with actual money on the line and literally the worst customer service of all time.

- acc locked

my acc got locked and suspended for no reason whatsoever. I had literally just created it two days prior. I was trying to start selling things. And for my efforts i get acc ban without any explanation or recourse for me to undergo. Guess what im not making a new email adress just to get banned for no reason again. Ontop of this absurdity ebay and paypal have a monopoly where the seller is forced to use paypal or have to pay 30$ a month for a "online marketplace" acc or something. And when you are using paypal they take a tax from the money u make, ebay takes a tax and in the end you wait extra week to receive 50% of the earnings you made. Also Never sell more than 1 item at a time because ebay buyers are all scammers who request refunds on items you clearly have labeled "NO REFUNDS"... Why does ebay allow a buyer to request refund and receive their money back even when a seller has set the option "no refunds". That defeats the purpose of having the option in the first place. So if you sell 2 things and 1 of them request refund when you already withdraw the money, ebay will take the money you made from the 2nd item and give them to the scammer buyer. Without question ebay returns the money to the buyer, therefore scamming the seller. I used to have a negative balance on paypal because ebay steals money from there for the buyers refund even if i have nothing on the account. Ebay is actually on the scammer side, and paypal is their method.

- eBay still reigns As the best marketplace online!

I have 20 years of experience with eBay if not more! eBay is the only place online I like to shop for almost anything! The sellers are hot held to a very high standard they both the buyers but more importantly by eBay! They have lived up and surpassed even the highest of expectations! you can actually trust you’re going to get the product, it will be as described and if you do you have a problem it will be immediately addressed by post to seller and eBay! eBay’s site as well as their app, offer a wide range of prices on items as well as the ability to make offers if the price is too high! The sellers respond quickly and if they don’t except your offer they make a counter offer. What could be more fair than that? In addition, the majority of sellers either offer free shipping or actual shipping costs! You do not find that on any other site! All of these discount sites that you see, try returning an item, or telling them you have a problem with an item. You get the runaround of your life because most of them are not in the United States. I am those buyer and I have been a seller on eBay. beyond_belief

- Stop with the updates! They're worse than ever

I have been selling on eBay for years. The last years using solely the Ebay app. I list approximately 200 items weekly. Firstly, stop with the updates. With every update the features seem to go downhill. It is becoming harder and harder to navigate. Placement of followed searches, watched items and even things you're selling are scattered all over the place. As far the as selling feature goes, the only improvement I could recommend is adding the second category option to an item being sold. That feature is only an option on a pc. It would be nice to be able to delete bought items. That used to be an option but not with the latest update. Ugh. I like a tidy bought and sold list. I love selling on eBay. The app is way simpler than the old style desktop way. eBay is the way I make ends meet and pay for my children's college. Don't think I don't appreciate the opportunity eBay gives me. Considering I pay over $18,000 in eBay fees a year perhaps you'll pay a little attention here. PLEASE stop with these downhill updates. Are the tech people trying to find things to do? Why mess up something that was ok?

- Automatically redirects from the web browser

The app itself is okay from what I got to try out. I made a purchase with it and everything worked great, and I like having the option to get notifications directly on my phone without having to keep checking the website all the time. However, I ended up deleting the app soon afterwards because I also like to access the website from my phone's browser where I can use all the features of desktop mode. Well, I was browsing on the website and it was working fine, but then when I tried to open a certain page, I was automatically redirected to the app. I don't remember now what it was I clicked on, possibly to see a seller's other items, but in any case, it had nothing whatsoever to do with the app. I went back to the browser, tried again, and was redirected again. The website refused to let me open the page in the browser until I finally removed the app altogether. I suppose it's possible there's an option somewhere to stop it redirecting, but I didn't feel like wasting my time searching. When I'm using the website, it's because I want to use the website. When I want to use the app, I will open it myself. There are pros and cons to both, and I'm not interested in having an app that decides for me when I want to switch.

- Copy cats

As an artist is very frustrating to see my ideas being reproduced over and over. Ebay does nothing about this. It would be nice if there was a setting where I can list my items so only certain buyers can see my items for sale. This would illuminate other artist from seeing my listings and duplicating the items that I’m painting on and profiting off of my creativity. This is very unfair and Ebay should step up and do something about this!!! Seems like Ebay only cares about making money and if I stop listing on Ebay, you will see a severe drop in “Yorkie handpainted” listings because people can’t seem to come up with their own ideas! Do the research and see when I list something new and unique, the next week duplicate items pop up. Several other artist friends of mine have dropped off of eBay because of this complication. Again, the solution would be for me to be able to block other artists from seeing my listings. I could care less about Private listings, it needs to be where my listings are blocked from other artists that can see my listings in copy my ideas. Step up and do something about this or I will just need to say goodbye to Ebay.

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING eBay APP!!!Okay where should i start, well let’s see i have been a eBay customer for almost a decade now and i have had my ups and downs but unfortunately i have reached my limit. Recently i ordered parts that never arrived but was said to have been delivered to an address that doesn’t exist. Obviously before the parts went out i noticed the discrepancy and immediately notified eBay, who took days to respond. By the time eBay responded. The response i got back from eBay was to contact the seller, the seller had already shipped said parts 😞. I then got the ball rolling with trying to either get a replacement or refund. When i say i immediately got on the ball for a refund or replacement i mean immediately. The seller stonewalled be and i made a request for eBay to step in but of course that was a mistake. Again eBay took weeks to respond to my request only to tell me the matter had been closed and i would not be receiving anything (refund or replacement). At this point the sellers on eBay are under not type of liability for selling you wrong, damaged, or generally bad parts or items and eBay who is supposed to act as a broker furthers this behavior by enabling the sellers behavior. eBay does nothing to protect its buyers. I for one will not be ordering anything else from this point on from eBay. PLEASE READ BEFORE USING eBay APP!!!

- eBay allows deception

Many items have a description in their title and a DIFFERENT description in fine print on the description page that deceptive sellers use to deceive. Also sometimes a photo falsely suggests strongly the size of an item (even though the actual dimensions are on the description page showing actual dimensions much smaller in metric but without a ruler or coin to suggest actual size for polite reference), KNOWING MOST WILL LOOK AT THE PHOTO AND BUY BECAUSE OF IT. This on items they know are copies / counterfeits of the real product in standard size, like a hairbrush I bought which was actually so small I couldn’t hold it to brush with it without it flopping out of my hand over and over. It’s as though they intentionally deceive because they know that NO ONE will return a $2-3 item. Also my eBay app should hold my purchase history INDEFINITELY OR UNTIL >>>I<<< delete it, and not be deleted by the eBay system. If I purchase lots of things it’s very easy to forget or lose track of an item ALREADY PAID FOR THAT I NEVER GOT. ESPECIALLY if eBay deletes my purchase history. It’s MY RECORD. DON’T DELETE IT FOR ME!!! Allow me that option. 😡 in light of what I’ve said, choose carefully and you may do well. There are some very good deals on eBay if you have good judgement and the time for all the hassles too. JD

- My review on Sellers

I have been an eBay member since 2001. That’s a total of 18 years. I think in the last three years the credibility of the eBay sellers has disintegrated. They lack credibility, integrity. My first 10 years maybe longer no matter what I purchased it was always exactly what they stated I warily ever had to return anything. I think maybe I returned two things in 10 to 15 years. Now it is just awful. The quality is bad it’s not as it described and what I find is that eBay doesn’t support the buyer when it comes to certain items. I don’t mind purchasing something if returns are not excepted, but when there is dishonesty and I purchased the item based on their truthfulness and I discovered that there is dishonesty involved regarding the product and I open a complaint and eBay supported the seller. The particular item I am talking about was a Kiehl moisturizer I purchased on eBay. I discovered The item was expired. I did my homework before I opened up the complaint. I personally met with the Kiehl representative To educate myself on skin care and expiration dates before I even opened up a complaint. I doubt that you’re bored who makes these decisions Didn’t do the research I did. So my lack of trust with eBay supporting me as a buyer has disintegrated considerably just like the sellers you allow

- Tired of the Messing up.

Lately this app has been messing up and I am not able to pay for my invoices due to the screens keep saying error I then get unpaid item strikes despite communication with the sellers. It won't let me pay for my items one at a time and then sometimes it's reverse. I have enjoyed eBay for over 10 years now and had 100% and no item strikes. But thanks to the issues and errors that pop up on the screens my experience has been horrible. Also 5 years ago I had some items that I sold. I got very sick and was in the hospital for almost three weeks. I did miss sending the items although I made communication with buyers the moment I was conscious and explained what had happened. That was just a few items some of the people wanted the item still and some didn't but that was 5 years ago. Why am I being punished and not allowed to sell 5 years later? My feedback has been at 100% for years. No unpaid item strikes until recently due to the app not working correctly I have tried on my phone, my iPad, my pc and even a friends phone. I would like this all fixed please but I don't know what to do.

- APP Review not EBAY Review

I’ve been a seller on eBay for many years, a review on the platform itself is a whole different thing. This is a review of the app. I think it’s very easy to use and helpful for both buyers and sellers. I feel the app gets rid of a lot of the extra features that get in the way on the website. However, I don’t like that as a seller the only feature is to view, edit, and list your items. There are a lot of other facets to being a seller that could make up an “Ebay Seller App” such as paying my bill, viewing my daily sales or monthly numbers, starting a promotion, etc. All of this aside, there are two actual flaws with the current Ebay app. When I click on my profile to view any new or previous feedback, the screen never loads. Also, when scrolling through my items the app loads the items in bunches. This is fine but I am never able to scroll through all of my items because after loading a few bunches as I’m scrolling it freezes and can’t load anymore items. Then I have to leave the page and go back to try to get further down the list of the items - but it’s never possible. Fix these two things and you’ll have 5 stars from me!

- EBay needs to update app

Most app features work well but they continue to fail to address the needs and suggestions if sellers. Too many circular help options. The mail reason for my low rating is eBay still has NOT fixed old purchases being “stuck” in the list of purchases. When trying to remove very old purchases (so to increase # of watched items) it says unavailable or just doesn’t let you delete them or the just reappear. Why doesn’t the developer FIX THIS???? There’s so many complaints about this going back several years! Related: why is there such slow limit of the number of watched items one can have? That makes no sense. In fact, I can guarantee eBay is losing money by not fixing this problem. If I could watch more items, I know I would be able to watch them and buy more. But if my list is “full” I simply forget about the items that I might have bought. Seriously, you guys need to step up your app or sellers and buyers (like myself) are going to leave this app. I know I’ve about had it with eBay’s lack of interest in helping its sellers. You guys purposely don’t make it easy to get help or to get improvements made. Take heed of the feedback and make changes or you’ll become the next “tumblr” and die a slow death.

- Cannot live without

To EBay: Whomever this concerns, I really need to express how grateful to EBay for so COUNTLESS REASONS BUT AT THIS TIME IN MY LIFE AT THIS POINT . eBay has actually the choice I have made, over all other the options to order everything that my needs require. You offer things that can’t at sometimes be offered but by EBay ! The month of March 2022, well you actually stopped a hacking account becoming huge! You alerted me and because of that information, I was able to contact my bank quickly. It stopped so many charges that a affidavit filed and a huge investigation that is still continuing that other business that were hacked never alerted me . EBay did. I thank you. Please , just know that we need you. I need you. I am disabled and bed ridden so ordering and it delivered is essential for my life at this time. During this time in the world, there are more than the few public services eBay is a huge part of the world in our “public service “ that is saving so many parts of the world. Well, eBay is the service is public and is screen . It’s more to that to me. Thank you again . Sincerely, Louise

- My review didn’t go through? Yeah, no.

Update : they fixed it finally. The interface and “tree” of categories in the numerous settings pages are an absolute cluster of a mess. What a disgrace. As a seller I tried to sell something (after a while of inactivity) and it takes me to a page with a FAKE CONTINUE BUTTON to verify my identity. The other option said call customer service. Inspecting the page easily shows the button is even labeled as FAKE with no action. I call eBay customer service and they tell me to press continue. What a joke. After staying on the phone with me to verify everything they said wait 24 hours and try another browser. I’ve tried several different browsers and different branded devices. I verified all my information, made sure my names and address all matches EXACTLY, and my CC and bank. I had to copy and paste several links and follow a set of arbitrary instructions suggested by THE COMMUNITY to see settings that are NOT AVAILABLE WHILE VISUALLY NAVIGATING. Fix your menu navigation. Yes, i unlinked my PayPal. What a joke. When customer service is telling you to press continue on a fake button, it’s clear the techs have no idea what’s going on. I’m not the only one complaining about this exact issue. End rant

- I feel like I’ve been robbed by eBay

My middle school English teacher introduced me to Ebay in the early 2000s. I’ve sold on the app on and off and purchased many items over the years. It was my favorite place to shop and always felt safe with all transactions until now. I purchased a ski suit overseas for $150, sender sent it and apparently the mail man misread my address and sent it back to seller. I notified seller and asked to let me know when received so that we can try again. I contacted seller 3 weeks later and seller hadn’t received it and asked me if it had a tracking number. I replied by saying it the USPS no longer tracks packages once they’re sent back. Seller stop replying after that. I asked seller for a refund, never heard from said seller. I opened a case and eBay a few days later eBay’s closed the case saying exactly this words “We’re Sorry you had a problem with your purchase. However, this item isn’t covered by the eBay Monday Back Guarantee. After reviewing all the details of this case, we determined that you won’t receive a refund. I feel like I’ve been robbed by eBay, seller stopped replying to my messages and eBay still sided with seller. I’ve never experienced this before and lost $150. How is that even right? I won’t buy on this app anymore, eBay it’s becoming just like the other dishonest apps out there.

- First steps

This recounts my first purchase on eBay, so the learning curve is near vertical. A bit confusing. Five days after purchase, I get an e-mail from the vendor asking what size. My question is: how did the purchase order get completed without that little detail? The advert I answered didn’t ask for a size so I assumed “one size fits all.” Just got an email that the merchandise shipped. Now I get to learn the tracking system. IMO the on line biz modelers need to lock a technical writer into a room with an IT coder and make the process more user friendly. Not my first unhappy experience. I placed a “notify me” order on a product that is out of stock and now I get spammed almost daily “are you still interested” and when I get to the order process, I am told it is still out of stock. Time is money, people. The online seller who comes closest to getting it right will get my patronage. If I get the product I ordered, I will be happy. Curious that E-bay is asking for this evaluation on the same day the product shipped and long before it could have arrived. Turn the screws on the tech writer, he should know better and turn up the heat on the coder because he should do better.

- The eBay app is perfect! Change nothing!

Launched the app this morning and the eBay app asked me for feedback. Not thinking, I closed it automatically. But I’ve noticed the app has been asking that a bit more than usual as if they’re looking to make changes or improvements. But as an eBay fan I’m here writing this review to tell all the executives and developers at eBay... The eBay app is absolutely perfect! Change nothing! The eBay app is simple and perfect. Everything is easy to find, to access and to adjust. Please, eBay is one of the very few apps left that I praise for it’s simplicity and ease of use. When I search I find what I’m looking for. When I’m selling I see all the information I need. When I’m buying I see all the information I need. Keep things as is. Do not feel inclined to change things for whatever the reason may be. Do not fix what is not broken. Do not be like other apps that constantly update and make unneeded changes that they THINK is making the app more refreshing and better designed. They’re only doing the opposite, breaking what does not need fixing.

So, let me start this off by saying i am not happy with eBay whatsoever. This website and app is the biggest scam to ever be made. Now let my make this clear, if you are BUYING from eBay. No problem, have fun scamming people and having eBay help you scam them because of their "selling agreement". BUT, if you are selling or trying to sell off of this website you are in for a "fun" ride. If your intent is to sell you will be shown just how easy it is for people to scam you. Here's what I mean buy this. I have sold over 20 things over eBay and 15 of those 20 things have all been the same. Even though I put in the settings that "I DON'T DO REFUNDS" the people buying from me where able to schedule a refund for my product claiming "that I had missing pieces or parts" even when I was selling something such as a cup... anyways because of this and how eBay is a buyer first type of company EBAY themselves were able to go into the PayPal and send the buyer BACK the money WHEN HE HADN'T EVEN SHIPPED MY PRODUCT BACK. So in this case he had MY product and had his $200 back... it has been over a month and I have lost over $2000 due to this ongoing scam to eBay and their "buyers". I also haven't received my product back ever. So, if you are going to use this app to buy. Have fun, if you are going to use this app to sell. Good luck because you are going to loose a lot of money.

- Price range bait and switch

First of all it’s messed up that you can’t contact eBay customer support via email and are only provided a phone number. My complaint is about how sellers have side skirted the lowest price plus shipping filter. It used to be that you could press lowest price plus shipping, and the results would be the items with the lowest prices. Now when you click lowest price plus shipping, it shows you an item with a really low price, say $.74, but when you click the item and go to its page it has a price range of $.74 to say $15. You are usually provided a few options to enter for the product and when you put in the information relevant to the item you are searching for, 9 times out of 10 the price becomes $15 instead of $.74 with the $.74 item being a worthless accessory or something not even wanted. This is annoying to no end and completely makes useless the lowest price plus shipping filter. This along with having to scroll through miles of pages of the same stock photo from the same seller of a product where each page has a price difference of a penny or a different color option or something. Individual sellers flooding the search results with jillions of pages their own stuff so nobody else’s product gets seen through the crowded mess. If nobody at ebay is fixing this, that means you must be complicit. Boooo!

- Very bad company policies

I was a new seller for 3 months I was selling no problems I sent all my items on time and in perfect condition. But there are scammers who will make offers if you accept they ask you to contact them with their cell number because they want you to buy a game card to put in box and they will reimburse. Now I figured out it was a scam obviously so never contacted them and re-listed items. Anyway 3 months in I have received no money for 43 sold and shipped items which totaled 1700$ they then made 200$ available but before I transferred they deleted my auctions and said my money was on hold and I can no longer sell on eBay! Now in USA if accused you have the right to face your accuser and at least know what your accused of they wouldn’t tell me what I did to have my money froze and account deleted they say it’s policy so I’m not even sure if the above reason which I was almost a victim is the reason I was deleted all I did was be honest and fair I had 12 positive feedbacks 0 bad reviews and did nothing outside eBay’s rules so Beware I was warned not to use them but figured they are so big how could they be bad but this experience has made me feel terrible I lost 43 items and never got my money and I’m disabled mentally and physically so this has depressed the heck out of me too if your new don’t risk their corporate tactics

- Worst customer service.

I swear, I will never ever buy items using eBay. I called customer service. They are so rude with customers I never knew that. eBay puts some number of rubbish, idiot, and dump animals other side of the phone. They even dont know how to talk to customers. Sometimes it acceptable if it happen with one person. I call a parson, just he “said how can i help you”. I dont know with whom im talking. I explained my issue, instead of answering me he just said, you can login ur app and you can see the update. So idiotic answer. I know I can see the update. But I wanted to know the exact status. Coz I paid for express delivery. If they are not able to ship on time i need return the money for express service. Which I paid. Then he cut the call. Again I called another person pickup the call. Again he said how can I help you. I said, it is eBay customer service? He said yes. I asked may I know your name? He Said John. I explained my issue, he asked which card i used, i told i forgot which card i use. I need the order update. He could find it using order number, email address, user id, etc. but he didnt . his sounds literally yelling to me. Kind of annoyed on me. Then he also cut the call. These filthy cows never deserve to run business in USA. These all activity was agains the consumer rights and law. I’m going to sue agains them.

- Useful but needs some improvements

It is very good for basic searches and checking of items for sale and ones buying or watching. Like the way it lets you enlarge the images of the items and the ease w which you can leave feedback. However there are several features I would like to see incorporated in future editions. There is no way in this program to pay for multiple purchases from one seller. It only allows you to pay for items one at a time. Also, as a seller there is no way to invoice multiple sales. The search system could be improved. Presently you have to reset the search filters with each search. I would like it to remember the previous search I did. I like to find out prices realized on items to help in pricing and I sell items mainly in one category. On the laptop version, when I am searching for a batch of items, I set the parameters once - for the category and for completed and it keeps those parameters during the entire setting. However the iPad version reverts back to the program filters after each individual search.

So I am one of the most trusted sellers and am often more considerate and less greedy than other sellers. However, last year, I sold a gameboy game system. The buyer made a false claim, to get their money back, which put my paypal account in negative balance. Here is the problem, the buyer who purchased the item, used a fake pitch black image with a silver or greyish small square, which has been a common scam image that ebay and other sellers know about but yet they fail to even let the seller defend their case AT ALL and prove authenticity. They also fail to look at the exact images of what was sold, and review both sides of the story and just side with the buyer within seconds of the buyer submitting the fake image that does not show the actual item whatsoever. I have never had a problem selling things on ebay and always got good reviews. But the fact that Ebay banned me over one fake buyer, and false claim, is outrageous. Ebay will not even answer me whatsoever in regards to this matter, I am to the point that I am ready to file a lawsuit and take them to court. I have reported this to the better business bureau twice since then, and Ebay still has never responded. DO NOT USE EBAY!!!!! SELL LOCALLY OR ON A DIFFERENT PLATFORM BECAUSE EBAY IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY ANYMORE AND THEY LET SCAM BUYERS GET AWAY WITH EVERYTHING AND REFUSE TO CARE ABOUT THE SELLER.

- There ARE other options.

I’m not a big fan on leaving negative reviews but these are issues with the company as a whole rather than an individual. 1. The messaging system is broken. The interface is disorganized and old and there’s no good way to see your sent messages or recover older ones. 2. Non-transparent fees. Ever since ebay has switched away from PayPal charges seem random and the invoice is disorganized. 3. USPS. This isn’t a problem that eBay has much control over honestly, but there are several third party selling websites which make it far easier to deal with the USPS (for trading cards these include comc and Star stock) and for the last 2 months almost every standard eBay envelope I’ve sent has gone missing. 4. Customer Service. The first time I needed to use eBay customer service it wasn’t bad. I was able to reach an agent in 10 minutes who was able to help me through the problem I had at the time. This no longer seems to be the case, as it’s very difficult to actually talk with someone let alone them be able to give accurate help. For a long time eBay’s seemed like a necessary evil and for some it may still be that way but if your buying and selling almost any kind of collectible there are plenty of other options which don’t have the numerous issues ebay has.

- Best buying and selling app.

eBay is horrible. They are bullies that don’t help at all and let scam artists sell fake stuff or things that don’t work at all and are broken then you can’t get any help at all to get your money back or contact the seller and there’s no way to contact eBay either. It’s extremely difficult and once you finally figure it out They don’t reply. if you are lucky enough to get someone to contact you back after weeks they are extremely unprofessional and rude. This company is shut down here dad and sued for millions . 100% bad business . I’ve been screwed in several items, thousands of dollars. No help from eBay at all. Don’t be fooled by their falsely advertised protection plans because they don’t work at all and you won’t get a reply. One of my many issues was when I purchased an iPhone for near $400, it didn’t work at all, tried to get ahold of seller for weeks, eBay didn’t help, finally sent it back to get my money back and they didn’t not refund my money. I somehow over looked the customers return request day and sent it 1 or 2 days after they requested. So i revived zero money back and they kept my phone and eBay didn’t help at all. They just were rude, unprofessional and did not help at all. The new iPad Pro arrive and is broken, doesn’t event turn on. I can’t get any help or reply from eBay it the seller.

- Just a bunch of hacked accounts and fake Chinese sellers

I highly recommend you stop or never start using eBay. It was become a market place of fake sellers, most with Chinese addresses or American addresses that have been hacked. Just recently bought a backpack and received a shipped notice with a tracking number. When the “item” arrived it was a letter saying i would receive it soon and I could track it at USPS. But I never received a new tracking number. When I tried to get a refund from eBay, they required me to wait another 15 days before I could even request a refund. I decided to call eBay customer service and I was on hold for over 30 minutes even though the app said it would be a one minute wait time. When I finally got through to customer service, I had to explain my situation multiple times before they took any action. After all that waiting I was told I the seller had a week to provide a refund, if they failed to do a refund then I would have to call back. Prior to that incident I won an Apple TV from someone in California, after two weeks I never received the item and when I contacted the seller I never received a response. Again eBay forced me to wait another 10 days before I could request a refund. When I finally received a refund, I was not allowed to leave feedback warn others of the fake seller.

- ebay treats new customers like they are criminals

I started a new personal (not business) account. I sold and shipped an item that is en route. Then I attempted to purchase some tank tops. I have a PayPal account already and decided to link them. The item I sold was a women’s biker riding leather gear. Day 5, when I purchased some tank tops and the gear was in route to the buyer my account was suspended for fraud! I call and am asked where I obtained the things I was selling. My account was reinstated but now the item I sold and the funds still pending are no longer available. The tank tops I ordered have been canceled but the funds are gone from my PayPal account to that vendor with no receipt or proof of sale but an email saying it was cancelled, oh, and I am an accountant so I take screen shots. Why would I be accused of scam and fraud without a call or verification? I have excellent credit and never had a felony or anything!? I have decided I would rather pay more or do without than work with the gestapo. I will be donating the rest of my riding gear and decor I no longer want to goodwill. 2 stars for selling my leathers and making me jump through hoops as if I had to prove I’m legit, instead of verifying people like a normal business would! Unless you are a business ebay is not where you want to sell your personal items.

- Account Restricted and Suspension

I have recently created an eBay account because I wanted to sell a Godzilla Playset, simple as that. Two days later, I have gotten my account suspended indefinitely for an unknown reason. I called to reinstate my account, first operator was trying to figure out what was going on and I told him who I was and what I was trying to do and then he saw that my account was restricted for some weird reason and decided to be rude about it and not let me know what was the exact reason. I literally just started my account and they told me that my account is concerning. That is all. And he told me to have a good day and wouldn’t even answer my question. I called back a minute later and a lady answered the phone and told me that my account is suspended indefinitely and I asked her why and she literally cannot answer my question to protect eBay about their “policies” and not find a way around their policies. I myself was not trying to find a way around any stupid policies. I just wanted to sell my Playset and buy a Spider-Man figure cause I’m a nerd like that and now I can’t do crap cause they can’t and won’t unsuspend my account for a stupid reason. eBay is trash and always will be trash, especially their customer service. How are you going to suspend me and not even tell me the exact reason why.

- Beware

Ever since they dropped PayPal, they have become a nightmare to deal with. They play with your money, jerk you around, tell lie After lie, keep telling you your funds will be sent in two days, the two days passes and the cycle starts over and over. Worst support staff I’ve ever dealt with that can only read prompts and scripted responses. Asking them any questions short circuits their brains into shut down mode. I was a loyal customer and seller for 16 years but as of now I have closed my account and will never use them again. What they’re doing is criminal, negligent, and borderline wire fraud. They need to be investigated, and mailed to the wall for what they’re with people’s money. It’s so sad to see what eBay’s become. It’s time to call it quits eBay. You’re done. You’ve reached that point of becoming a beached whale. You can’t function, and the end is fast approaching, all due to the greedy decision to cut PayPal out of a small percentage of transactional fees. Most cards and banks that has zero problems in any other selling platform, wrong work with eBay, and their grand solution is to demand that sellers go open multiple checking accounts instead of eBay fixing their faulty software. Good riddance, you’re now a bad memory that I’ll gladly share my experiences with whomever will listen, to warn away from you.

- Expand Number of Watched Items You Can Have!

1. Great app for the most part but for the life of Brian PLEASE expand the number of watched items you can have! On many, MANY occasions I’ve had to add items I want to watch to my cart because I’m out of space in my watched items list. Then, I run into technical problems there too (see below). Why on earth would you want to limit the number of items someone might wish to purchase! Often, especially now with new features, sellers have the option of offering you a lower price. But if it’s not in your watched item list or cart you won’t be notified. You’re costing sales with this unwarranted limit that other apps like Poshmark don’t have! Please CHANGE THIS. 2. When editing (removing OR viewing) items in your cart (which I have to use for excess watched items), when you view or delete an item you are taken back to the top of the page. Very annoying to have to scroll down to find your place each and every time. You should be able to return to the same place in this list after deleting or moving an item. Please CHANGE THIS.

- Shopping Nirvana

I have almost become addicted to eBay. Only my wife has saved me with a constant reminder about living within budget. It seems you can buy almost anything, at a cheaper price than elsewhere, from reliable sellers by either buying now, making an offer or bidding. Not only is it a perfect way to shop but it’s FUN! Most of what I buy is postage free. I deliberately look for that. eBay is highly intuitive. You don’t need a manual to navigate around, contact sellers or eBay, make your offer or bid, check your cart, look at your purchasing history and on and on and on it goes. So much content for our benefit it must have a huge engine running it all. I’ve never had a dispute with eBay. They are always accommodating and eager to please and assist. I also like that I can have multiple accounts. Another big thing for me is the fact that, once I provide my credit card details (securely) to eBay, every time I buy, the purchase goes through automatically and immediately. No need to constantly fill out personal and financial details. I often check different places for price comparison if I’m looking to buy something and eBay invariably is cheapest. I have received small gift vouchers a couple of times for no particular reason. Just loyalty I guess? I appreciate that little touch. Well, I’m hooked and I’m not embarrassed to say so. It is a sensational marketplace and the eBay Brand is solid gold. Have fun shoppers. Chili Boy

- Time for an eBay alternative

Long time ebay user. It was good. It’s not anymore. Their new payment system is terrible. First I received an email that my account would be restricted unless I supplied a licence number. So I did. 2 weeks later I got notified the account would be restricted unless I supplied photo ID. Felt like a scam but I played along. 2 days later I got another notification my account would be restricted. Went to ebay help and they told me my details just hadn’t updated for some reason but they had fixed it and it would be good to go in a couple of hours. A few days later I get an email that my account has now been restricted because I didn’t comply with supplying ID. Worse still I had an item for sale that was being actively bid on that had been delisted and completely removed from my account. Contacted help again and they told me they couldn’t do anything and had to escalate to another team that would contact me in a week or two because they are so busy dealing with these issues. If your country has an alternative use that. Avoid ebay at all costs. Don’t trust them with payment details. Don’t trust them with ID. They don’t even know what’s been uploaded so how can they protect your information. They delist items even when you complete their requests. Then act as it it’s the customers fault. I honestly hope a good alternative arrives and ebay goes broke for the way it treats people.

- What happened to eBay ?

Anybody else been charged twice for purchases ? Days after you already paid for them ? Comes up same transaction ID as one of the items in my basket when I checked out days earlier and that shows up individually on my bank statement same as the other 3 items I had in my trolley when I checked out all from seperate sellers and two days later get charged the whole carts total AGAiN! Put my bank account into debt and we were 600 Kilometres from home middle of the night two kids in the car we needed fuel food and to get home - hence why we budget our money thanks E-Bay for charging us twice for the same purchase days apart in the middle of the night cause we all know it’s so easy to get a hold of customer service or even speak to a human being employed at E-bay that can help you so easy to get a hold of them during the day - & WORK HOURS it’s a well known fact ! Try doing it 3 am after finding out you’ve practically been robbed yet I had to authorise it ? I did ! ONCE days earlier I paid for my purchases and had Anyone leave had issues actually getting a hold of ANYONE at eBay ? Phone or email or better yet has anyone had issues with getting eBay to refund the money they “accidentally” double charged you even if it is DAYS apart from the first time

- Feedback strike

I like eBay, but so many items are seriously overpriced, or postage rates are beyond ridiculous prices. A bargain can be found every now and then, which is great. I have never requested a cancellation of an order, but I had to (ONCE, in the many years of using eBay), when I realised it had overdrawn my account. I cancelled the order within 10 minutes, but the request was denied, as apparently the order (from China) had been received, processed, packed, and posted, in that time. I highly doubt it! So many shops claim to be Australian when they aren’t, why isn’t this being dealt with? The biggest issue for me is being fed up with this neediness of constantly wanting reviews/feedback, and now that I have to write an individual review for every purchase, I refuse to do them. I have better things to do than waste precious moments of my life giving feedback (not just eBay, but EVERY company does it now. Buy a rubbish bin bag, and give a review of the life changing experience it gave you….). The irony of reviewing eBay doesn’t escape me, but I had to vent. Stop hassling & emailing me to give feedback.

- Review from jackie Finch

I loved eBay so much in the past but found over the last year more and more cheep rubbish being sent out nothing like the adds and wondering why it’s not easier to get help for us customers about these retailers who just truly scam so many of us I have contacted you on so many times and have no reply it’s frustrating and although I do still shop on hear I have now closed a more customer friendly online outlet Why are none of these products being checked the one I have been in dispute with since June is just truly a terrible company if you have any interest in changing my mind you could finally look into it for me I ordered a beautiful garden stained glass crow hanging ornament it was only about $14 I think barely remember what I received was a white piece of acrylic with a crow drawn on with marker pen it’s not the money I feel like it’s only me making a stance for us customers as you don’t seem too It definitely needs a revamp of your sellers hence so many people no longer use eBay it’s not trust worthy enough I’d might as well throw $200 a year down the drain that’s how much I’ve spent on fake stuff the last year with you sadly Hope this dies finally reach a human and you upgrade to protect you few remaining customers thank you 🙏 Plus this nickname thing you have going on is so annoying as you spend 20 minutes trying to find one that’s not taken up

- Recent app update prevents seeing all items purchased

With the recent update to the app in 2022 my purchase history is limited to 80 items. Last month, I ordered over a hundred items. On average this will be over 1000 items I buy a year. Very disappointing I cannot see more than the 80 items I have purchased in my history. This is absolutely important and critical for me to check if all items ordered have been received however I can’t due to eBay’s recent update. I contacted eBay customer support when this first happened in around January to raise my concern. However, they brushed me off as if the issue remained my problem and I was not a valued customer. So ridiculous. So this is how you treat valued members! Once you sort out your IT issues and improve the app for the better (and not worse!), come and contact me and I’ll review this feedback. Let’s see if you even care.

- eBay and PayPal service

I think eBay has changed over the years and become more focused on making money rather than looking after its long term customers that are making them money. I choose not to use eBay so much these days to buy and sell as the last straw for me was an item I purchased locally went missing from our local post office before I was able to pick it up. For some reason it went to another person by mistake and was declared lost. I bought the item via eBay and payed via pay pal as I always have done because eBay would like it and push the point that all items are covered for loss with insurance. When I contacted eBay and pay pal with paperwork and evidence of my loss I was refused any compensation with a lovely friendly smile. So thank you eBay and pay pal for a great buying and selling platform but unfortunately really crappy customer service. Regards Mark

- I used to love ebay…

…then one by one all things I liked started to disappear, and the app is largely to blame. I once sold quite a bit on eBay, I used my own html in all my auctions which routinely achieved much better results than similar items because they looked much better. But now with the app you can’t use html anymore, everything just looks meh so I gave up. And if you have a problem? Once you clicked on help and usually found the answer, now the only info you can get your hands on is so basic it’s useless. And searches just don’t work properly on the app, I don’t know why, but compared to the desktop version the results are extremely limited. And why do you have to click on a listing twice to be able to read the description? Isn’t once enough? And the junk, there’s just so much of it, most of it poorly described, deceptively photographed with disingenuous pricing and locations,. eBay’s become little more than an enormous online $2 shop, so if you’re after a rainbow coloured light to put in your toilet bowl this is the app for you.

- Would have been 5 stars but 3 major problems

I am a veteran user of ebay and really like it a lot.. this review would have been 5 star but for 3 major issues 1. The recently introduced Global Shipping Program. The GSP Solved non existent issues. This doubles the cost to the buyer to get items. No-one benefits except ebay .. sellers lose scores of would-be buyers .. and buyers can no longer afford things. Meanwhile for those who do pay the extra fee .. ebay laughs its way to the bank. 2. I hate when i sort on lowest price including shipping .. i select and pay for my item .. then get a slew of eBay ads for the same product cheaper .. clean up your sorting act please ebay. 3. Since the integration of paypal to eBay... the rare times when i need ebay/paypal for solving disputes where i need a refund has become incredibly difficult .... not customer friendly at all

- Not happy

Not happy with the new eBay app. Nothing wrong with the old classic view page everything on one page and never had any trouble seeing payments, messages, 2nd chance buys, time left, feedback, how many to post, no available for 2nd chance buys everything. This new version tells me I have a message but when I try to open it doesn’t show the message, I was notified on one page that payment was made but didn’t get email confirmation that it was, I had to go to PayPal to see in my account to verify payment. 2nd chance come up as buy it now where the old version it wasn’t and I could add to invoice so as to apply postage discount this resulting in emails going back and forth and then doing refund for excess payment of postage so much extra work and frustration. All in all it is suppose to make it more simple to operate. If the old version isn’t broke why try to fix it, and old saying but true. Not Happy Pawpaw147

- Won’t use it any more

I’m simply fed up with the poor processes of eBay, though I’ve been registered for many years! Firstly, the images sellers advertise are not always the same as the product, I.e., it’s an inferior item, usually cheap knock-offs from China. That’s ok, just don’t use misleading photos. I hardly ever return anything, but whenever I have needed to the returns system freezes up or crashes whenever the return shipping label is requested. I’ve been all around the houses with them over and over trying to get past it but you just get the same old runaround every time - even though the system says it's their fault. My last gripe is that you must be wary not to order items from China that are delivered outside the 60 day refund timeframe, because if you don’t get the item or it’s faulty you’ve blown any chance of ever getting a refund. I’ve had lots of smooth purchases but I’ve not always been impressed with the quality and if you can’t return items easily, especially in these Covid times, it’s lost it's appeal. Thanks but no thanks!

- Tech Issues to note

Couldn’t figure out who to contact to notify of app glitches, but as of yesterday, when a seller sends you an offer and you are on the page where you can either click counteroffer/accept/decline/or view their listing… if you click to view their listing, it takes you back to your notifications page. There is nothing that I needed or wanted to buy urgently, but not being able to do some due diligences of look at the photos and descriptions again, it has persuaded me to decline all offers sent to me while this glitch is happening. App is normally great, just put a four star cuz I wish I could “watch” more items without having to go through my watch list and delete expired ones that have sold to other buyers or have been re-listed (i sometimes have multiple watched items for the same item re-listed too).

- Reviews!

I’ve been using eBay for quite some time now, and it has come to my attention that it’s really hard to see certain products reviews... now I am the type of person that likes to check reviews before purchasing because of many reasons... When I am on the “Wish” app you can click on the stars on a certain listing just to see the reviews of that one product you’re viewing, but on eBay you go to check the reviews on one product and all the reviews from all their different products show up and it makes it very difficult for a buyer to find reviews on that one product they want to purchase! I would like this to be changed so when you’re viewing one particular item you only see reviews on that one item, and having the option to also show some pictures on reviews would be just as great so other buyers could see the product and make a final decision.

- Glitch in the app??? Items paid not found in purchased page!

I would normally give this 5 stars... Never have I had a problem with using the app until a few days ago when I checked out with 4 items in my cart... confirmed payment and went straight to PayPal like normally would. This time, the items that were paid did not state they were paid nor was it in the purchases page. Called up ebay they said I didn't buy when clearly it went through PayPal and money has been taken out. Had to call PayPal... Now is the waiting game to see if the items paid for will arrive. I hope this is a once off problem with ebay app. Another problem is the purchase page will sometime come up as 'no purchases in the last 60 days' ever since problems with the purchases of those items.

- Good app, but uncomprehensive and annoying notifications

Generally a good app to search for things, bid and purchase. Some points need serious improvement though: - notifications should be consistent. If there is a badge on the app for item sent etc., the emails should be turned off. It is annoying to have double notifications, with the email app immediately afterwards signalling a message saying the same thing as the eBay app notification (e.g. item shipped etc.). - Please STOP misusing notification badges to spam me with adverts! This killed it me - I just turned app notifications off altogether. - sellers offer payment via bank transfer, but the app does not allow me to select it. It is annoying if the app lacks functionality and I have to switch to website - might as well go to website in the first instance.

- eBay is great but ....

As a long time frequent buyer I find eBay a safe and reliable way of buying online. I mainly use the mobile app and this, I find, is limited and hasn’t been given the attention it deserves. The process of searching for and watching / buying items is great so no immediate changes there, but once you get to Purchases it starts to fall short. Simple filters for “sent” and “feedback needed” would make a big difference in Purchases. We also need a “planned delivery” schedule so we can track items. Notifications of changes is not enough and incomplete. Finally if an item is “Paid” but not “Sent” after (say) 4 days should be queried by eBay so the buyer’s concern of being ripped off is calmed. I look forward to a major release of the mobile app in 2019

- EBay is the worst business organisation on this planet!

I have been using eBay for 10+ years they have made it to protect buyers at all costs, buyers always right, they do nothing to protect sellers, this is the last time I use eBay today, I am never going to use it again even if it was my only source of income the last couple of months I have not been working due to becoming a carer for someone with advanced cancer spread to the brain, they have allowed someone to leave false and malicious feedback claiming item was unusable without providing any proof I know what I sent out and it was perfect, I will never use eBay again and I recommend that no one else does it doesn’t matter if you do everything correctly buyer can just say this is unusable and that’s that, your sales will go down, hundreds of same item sold without issue? If there was an issue why not send an image of the issue? So be be aware if you use them for selling the buyers can make any false claims they want and eBay will do nothing.

- Turned off all notification, might delete later

Ebay has changed the way that sellers get paid apparently. This change requires that i upload a copy of some government issued ID, thats not happening because i don't trust ebay to not get hacked and lose all my info. Ebay would get hacked because they only care about being the middle man and collecting money, they do not spend money on security or anything that actually improves the site. A great example of this is how items are listed with a "from" price. With the from price being a light bulb or maybe an instruction manual and not related to the item in the listing at all. E.g. $2-$20 with the options being $2 for a light bulb but the actual lamp is $20. It is a straight scam now. But because ebay is constantly sending notifications about these new payment changes i have turned that spam off. I'm not selling on ebay ever again and i doubt i will be buying much again. Might delete the whole thing, it's just a useless scam and spam factory.

- Get your act together.

This once great trading website is now next to useless due to an ever increasing number of sellers listing multiple items under the one listing. This added to the huge numbers of sellers from Asia being allowed to include free shipping that can take up to 6 weeks to ship items. The only way to avoid the tsunami of dodgy sellers and useless listings is adjusting the search parameters manually EVER SINGLE time you use the app. Just incase the frustration levels weren’t high enough already, this only limits the influx. If you don’t know what I mean, try to buy a set of black Vans Spicoli sunglasses. eBay clean up your sellers requirements. Limit the number of identical items listed by sellers. Close this stupid drop down menu multiple items loophole, and extend the “shipping time” as a search parameter to include number of weeks.

- Still not a smooth experience

I have used this App for many years and used it to purchase items in the past, but not any more. As the previous reviewer stated - the purchases may go through PayPal but not show up in your purchase list on the eBay system. I have experienced this too and it is annoying, inconvenient and scary. If this happens to you, the best way to contact eBay is through email, if you can manage to find its email contact facility - they don’t make it easy. If you call them, it will add to the confusion. eBay confirmed to me that there is a known glitch with this App and I was advised not to use it for purchasing items. I don’t use it to purchase items any more and I am surprised that this App still has such problems. Currently, this App will not archive any of my received purchases of the last 3 years. There is no syncing with the online platform. Still not a smooth experience.

- Some good some bad

Ebay itself has an excellent platform for promoting goods for sale. The downside is 95% or more all comes from China and is often a knockoff of the original. As such it’s a real hit and miss depending on what you’re looking for. Definitely don’t bother with any cheapie hands free or Bluetooth devices as they have all been rubbish in my personal experience. Have had some luck with gardening equipment however these items weren’t cheap, they did the job satisfactory but couldn’t recommend as a daily use/trade item (even though the poor English translation promises ultra high quality). Ebay use to have a high percentage of secondhand goods but now it’s mainly new items. I guess when the fees are taking a good slice of the profit there’s reasons to sell elsewhere. I continue to purchase and case out what’s on offer but always expect the worst when the package shows up.

- The Customer Used to Be Always Right

Just be careful the sellers have more rights than what you do as a buyer. 9 years an eBay user and recently have been ripped of $290 for a R/C car I brought for my Son. It arrived defective so I sent video and it was agreed with the seller he would send me a new one, but he also knew how to play the system and made this process wind out over a month and once the month was up all my rights as a buyer are trashed. Was silly to trust his word and now know I should have opened up a ticket straight away. Have all the evidence and messages but eBay don’t care, what’s worse is that the seller has to be found to have been deceitful to 5 more people before he is removed from the platform. I am an eBay plus member as well but with proof of transaction all you get it a sorry you’ve lost your money from phone conversation. Very poor customer service time to go back to buying over the counter for me bahh.

- Sanderson w t

Trying to purchase items on eBay I find to not be a user friendly experience for the inexperienced. It is a battle to get in touch with sellers , if not almost impossible . Sometimes a message seeking a response from a seller gets rejected by eBay . I feel the system is in need of a full review by eBay , my inclination after a couple of very frustrating experiences is that I will keep away from using eBay & hope that a more enterprising company gets into the market place so I can utilise a user friendly system . When I have questions for sellers on eBay there are many similar negative responses regarding ebays poor performance. So if there ever is a competitor , eBay will become obsolete/superseded overnight . Maybe The only reason eBay has customers is the lack of real competition.

- eBay

If you run into problems with eBay which you inevitably will eBay are absolutely impossible to deal with no matter how hard you try. I was hospitalised in intensive care and wasn’t expected to live . This happened after I sold articles on eBay when I finally got home I sent everybody their things and apologised for the inconvenience and explained I was hospitalised and had just got home they apologised for informing eBay they hadn’t received their order and eBay I just couldn’t contact and they refused to let me sell I than waited until I was on 100 again and than tried to sell something than still couldn’t had to Get a whole new account in a different name fortunately I had been married in the meantime so I had a different name and address

- 50/50

It’s good when some things arrive, and the app itself is pretty good but the bad thing is, when you buy something and then later gets deleted after you recently purchase it, you get worried that you have been scammed. You have to watch sometimes who your buying off of these days, sadly. Btw I would not recommend this app for kids even 12+ more like 18-21+. As a 16 year old I get anxious with purchasing stuff online and I try to be safe as possible when doing so, but when something goes wrong I’m scared. My parents have been trying to help me but they are worried too and in the past they have had some problems with other apps similar to eBay. eBay seems like a easy usable app (besides some sellers scamming or something going wrong) but as a teenager, I don’t want to be scammed.

- Demands to Revise Listings or Listings get Delisted !

Nov 18 - More demands to revise every listing otherwise paid listings will be deleted! Then change to the mobile app which removes previously useful functions! Sept 17 - They keep changing the specifics needed to be entered for items and their categories they need to be listed in. Plus threatening to delist items if they do not have the required changes made. Item are then not preferenced in the search to be selected for purchase. This is unfair when the fees have been paid to list the item and it is a massive job to revise all the listings which I don't have time to do. Earlier Review Bring Back Old Version Not user friendly. Difficult to navigate. 10 of my listings have disappeared and cannot be found in unsold list. Cannot revise best offer prices why? Cannot see feedback so not able to respond quickly to problems. Screens are too long to scroll through. Old version was user friendly as a store seller and buyer. Cannot send combined invoices. Keeps taking back to beginning when changing between apps even if it only a moment. Very poor update would like old app version back.

- Quality decline

EBay used to be good, more genuine auctions of second hand goods. Now the site is infiltrated by overseas cheap products that look genuine in quality in the pics but the buyer is deceived and product is cheap, both in material and manufacturing. The sizing changes and esp overseas foreign countries where oversized is not understood. Also if you take a chance a purchase a product and are not happy with it the buyer has to pay return postage and ends up paying double postage so it’s not worth returning anything. Leave feedback used to be where you could leave genuine feedback. Now you’re disallowed making an unfavourable review and have to contact the seller. The seller in their ignorance just repeats ridiculous promises to do well by the buyer. They never do. I have been burnt too many times mainly by foreign sellers and unfortunately will not purchase again from eBay. My daughter tells me that Shein is a better selling site so I will try elsewhere. - Lounge room shopping

Shopping for anything from tools, IT bits through to cars and medical needs. You name it and you'll get it on eBay. What's more, you can also sell anything here. All in all, a great trading place. It would be nice to be able to turn off the ending soon notifications or at least set a time and type of notification. My last review; next time I'm asked to review I think a one star will happen. I have other things in my life that are far more important than reviewing apps. Is it also possible to stop sending notifications about items that I have already purchased? After providing top ratings I am sick of reviewing it so have dropped the rating to one star. Stop asking me to rate your app.

- Unable to leave negative review

eBay won’t allow negative reviews. Makes me question the truth of all the sellers. I was sold a broken computer. eBay would not allow a negative review. I had stupidly paid half cash/half PayPal, so PayPal refused to allow return. Because PayPal refused return (punishment for not using it for the entire purchase) eBay also refused to allow a negative review. I even appealed! No. eBay won’t allow it because the case was ‘closed’ because I didn’t pay ALL of the $1000 through PayPal...gee sorry. No recourse through them at all and won’t even allow the truth to be told. (That’s what you get for not using PayPal entirely). Woman has 100% positive. Just a complete load of rubbish. For selling a $2 pin and For a $10 hat, etc. But when it comes to an expensive computer she ripped me off and eBay allowed it because I paid half in cash. I had to take her to VCAT. I won, thanks to our common law and got my $1000 back plus costs. But even then, eBay would not allow her to be besmirched by a negative review!! Turned me off eBay completely. It never used to be like this. Ebay used to let you tell the truth about people. Now it is too concerned with keeping all the ‘shops’ positive to keep the commerce going and for punishing anyone who doesn’t use PayPal. I stopped using eBay after that. Oh? It’s for sale on eBay? Yeah, nah.

- Many duplicate item IDs

Do a search for common items, like “headphone stand” with location filter set to Australia Only and sort by Best Match. Many results are returned, often with the same item ID. So you can’t even report the item as a duplicate because the ID is the same. Other unscrupulous seller practices render the price sort option unusable: they have a title like “headphone stand” with listing variations so they can include a $1 item that is not a headphone stand, but when you pick the variation you want the price jumps up $10. It’s so tedious to report the items that it seems eBay don’t care that the search results are effectively unusable. So instead of helping me make a purchase I just give up and go to a shop.

- Please add an option to select items in cart for deletion

Hello I’m Jesse I’m a valued customer on eBay I’ve made hundreds of purchases over the years for that this app deserves five stars. But unfortunately due to some complications I have encountered it’s made the app less appealing to me. I would like it very much if you could add an option to delete multiple items from the cart rather then having to do it all individually this would be a cause for me to give you five stars but untill then I can only give four as now I can only purchass individual items due to not being able to delete items from cart fast enough it would be awesome if you could hear me and make this change for the benefit of ebays customers thankyou

- EBay Delight!

Have only been a member since beginning of coronavirus, did not have a MasterCard before then, needed one to pay for delivery of prescriptions etc. Had been a bit apprehensive of ordering online but have to say I am so glad I decided to do so. eBay has been so friendly and helpful, I so enjoy buying products online and eagerly await their delivery. I have been able to order items I didn’t think were available to buy anymore, items are easy to order, are delivered much quicker than I thought they would be and arrive in excellent condition. Am so impressed with eBay , am one very happy customer. Thanks heaps eBay 😊

as the title says . when ask do you wish to buy similar , it goes to some other completely useless junk . cannot coprehend the english language, ask to search for china marble ?? goes instead to chinese marble. then they list junk in antique section that was made by hop sing in his backyard yesterday ie china thy have vintage items in antique section visa versa . sellers that dont even know what they are even selling or its value. then feebay charge excessive fees , then they want you to pay 50 dollars fee a year for the privilege of a instant 50 dollars discount on your next purchase over 100 dollars , then you like or watch something then feebay email you the buyer has offered a discount? whoopdeefriggindoo if i wanted it for an over inflated ptice i would not be watching it . and not offered it at frebays miserly discount feebay was good now its turned into as the title says CRAPP could go on for another 1,000 words but don't have time to comment more on feebay

- Crappy experience

Never will use eBay ever again as I have bought stuff of eBay and the last two times I had stuff rock up damaged and no tracking number to tell me when it was going to be coming by the seller and when I had a issue eBay didn’t even was helping me eBay always was helping the sale person I wanted the refund for the item and eBay said nothing was wrong with the item and I do have pictures how it came and I sent it to them I would never ever use eBay ever again they can go where there should go they’re not Aussies they don’t help the customers when they have proof they just help the sale person as I bought something white was worth over $1000 and they didn’t even want to Bara soap there was going on the sale side not my side at all so I can say they can go where they belong both of them eBay I would rather go into a local store now on

- Promote listing button

Had this app for a few years now but new button pops up now when you are relisting. If you accidentally press it, it costs you over $5 to “promote listing”. Very annoying and time consuming when you have a lot to relist every day. Please get rid of it. On most other levels this app is great, but stop “fixing” things that are not broken. Another new problem is for sellers. When you go to your goods that are being sold, you used to be able to search for an item in the “find” section. Occasionally works but not all the time. When you press the “sort” button, nothing now happens. Cant find newly listed, most viewed, ending soonest, or watchers. No longer working and what was once a great site is becoming very frustrating. Please either fix these problems or go back to how it was.

- Has a massive bug

I recently made a account and it asked for my address and mobile number. I filled it in (all correctly) and the java script thing comes up where you have to wait for it to refresh. I noticed that it said something about confirming the information once it refreshes. I do it again and the same java script prompt came up. It refreshed and it wanted me to do my information again. I fill it out again and the same java script thing happens. I do it again and again hoping that the app would fix itself, it never did. A similar one happened on safari version, you would put in what country you where from and the java script would happen again, another loop. This problem I have described at the start happens on the chrome version and app version. I always use eBay so please let me use it again and fix this issue

- Crashes with IPhone XMax

This is the third time in a week I have had to delete & reload this app on my new IPhone X Max. I sell LOTS of items & am often out, however I have to wait till I get home to a desktop to do things, such as provide refunds for excess postage. This creates a poor experience for the customer. It is ridiculous in this day & age of technology that the mobile app does not have the functionality of the desktop version. App developers - PLEASE add the extra functionality for the sake of your sellers & Buyers. It is easier to use the Etsy app. & I am starting to transfer my listings there. Also fees are a LOT cheaper. You are not making it easy or encourage sellers to sell.

- Ebay always has my back on any purchase 5 star ratings for EBay

- Disappointed

EBay use to be a great marketplace with plenty of bargains and if you couldn’t find a bargain there was always an auction that you could turn to. I use to enjoy it. Now I find it next to impossible to find a bargain and when you do the item has an inflated postage price. I’ve also noticed that the price of that bargain plus the price of the postage generally matches the same price as the item is from another seller. You can’t tell me that postage is not a price fix to make sure you are footing the bargain shortfall of the product. I’ve recently looked into eBay plus as a option with no real satisfaction on obtaining a bargain. EBay you’ve lost your major draw card which was bargain buying. I sincerely hope that someone who actually cares reads this and attempts to return eBay to what it was.

- Unable to receive assistance from eBay with a matter regarding a seller

Disappointed to not receive any assistance or responses from ebay regarding an issue with a seller. I used a coupon on a purchase ($84) the item never arrived. I contacted the seller, I was given two options. First was to receive a refund, second to wait for parcel if happy to wait. I selected the second option. The next day received a refund of purchase price less coupon. The refund has now resulted in me losing the coupon which I could have used to purchase the same item at another store. The seller is still advertising the product as available on their online store. I contacted eBay for assistance but have had no response. Been waiting 2 weeks now.

- Supporter of scammers

Ebay used to be a decent platform for both buyers and sellers. In recent years, their service to sellers has dropped to zero. Anyone can buy things and then change mind and lodge a false case. Sellers don’t get the items refunded, had to refund money, then must call Ebay to get the fees credited which should have been automatic, then get a negative feedback from that same scammer. Now, when the seller request Ebay to remove the negative feedback, eBay doesn’t care and basically tells the seller to stuff it. Enough of this mistreatments, there’s lot more others platforms, closing my Ebay account for good.

- Buggy

Falls far short when it comes to managing items for sale, too many bugs and issues to count. Some item for sale is not there in active listing and not showing up in search of active listing, but is there on the classic website, same for sold items and items awaiting postage. Also not displaying offers when there meant to be. When responding to offers from buyer who request i.e “free postage”...being a seller we need to know buyers location to determine whether we can afford to throw in free postage. Also buyer feedback counter display on offers. Good app but more improvements needed to be truely useful. I like to be able to use the app exclusively, but currently having to use both app and website, so phone and computer instead of just one.

- Buggy app and annoying customer experience

The presentation of the same products every time other new items are notified in my searches is very annoying. eBay doesn’t seem to be as effective for selling as it used to be so I’m tending to go direct to company sites to purchase new items and using Facebook marketplace more often. For a start there are no outrageous fees - including a percentage of the postage costs ??? - from Facebook. And when purchasing, marketplace is easy too because I can choose how I want to pay, not be forced to pay via PayPal. Lots of opportunity to improve eBay. You’re no longer the best.

- Recent app updates reduce funtionality

What happened to the ability to view our seller listings in order of the ones most recently listed? This is a major reduction in funtionality for me. I now have to revert to my MacBook to find this info which is not always possible. Also, why are ‘item details’ embedded in a click down box in item listings? This information should be shown clearly without having to search for it. Often buyers will message asking questions that are clearly displayed if they are on a laptop but hidden if browsing on the app. It creates more work for the seller and gives seemingly less clarity for the buyer. All in all this app scrapes through to allow me to work on the run but falls way short of the full screen device experience.

- Not that great

Not sure so much about the app itself, I guess it will need time Ebay’s ranking system seems to be very poor, does not work for the small seller that try’s to obey the rules It’s pretty bad when buy swap and sell seems to work far better I’d like to be loyal to the Ebay brand But it does make you wonder If your a scammer they seem to be protected buy the the establishment The staff may appear to be helpful but truth known, there protecting there jobs There running on a different computer ai system and for what I’ve seen, it’s not good One other thing be very careful buying things for so called Freinds etc, the feds and police and customs will be involved This is also very unprofessional that we can put in any user name and buy something and hence make a costly mistake Also remember say I opened up and account in 2008 well I’ve been a member for 10 years ha Say I wanted records for the ten years I’ve been a member Ok got told we only go back 3 years Ok now come on we pay tax medical police etc and they go back decades So tell me this, how is it that Ebay seem to be exempted Well you answer it for yourself cause I at present still haven’t got an answer back Maybe the government etc should look into Ebay and there subsidies closer They may not like what they might find

- I enjoy the app due to it having a lot of variety in the products ….

It has than one of it’s competitors may have at low prices at least (through my experience so keep that in mind) but the only issue I have is the alert you get of a package arriving is shown to you after the product has been delivered by a couple of minutes at least through my experience which maybe dangerous in the scenario of the package being left in-front of the door and you not knowing about it until a couple of minutes later which could be an opportunity to porch pirates to steal your package other than that no complaints it’s a great app.

- Ripped off

I sold a gold coin in a certified holder that I bought from an actual reputable auction house. The buyer asked to return it but broke open the coin holder and sent back a fake. eBay gave the buyer the money back with out any care that I was missing the gold coin. I had proof on video and everything but they wouldn’t even let me send them the proof. eBay has no interest in looking after its customers just their profits! Face Book market place is a better place to use. eBay is VERY BAD!!! Stay away!! They make u link pay pal to the selling of items or u can’t even sell with them. Ripped of in every direction I go with eBay. How their is not yet a huge class action against the company is surprising because they don’t operate within Australian consumer law. They seem to operate at what ever way goes to their profits only. Can’t wait for them to loose all their customers over time.

- Great way to purchase items from across the globe online

I almost always check eBay for items I’m looking to buy and when I do I often end up buying through eBay. I recently wanted to purchase three of a particular item that was available from multiple sellers in multiple countries but found it impossible to determine which seller had the best deal because many had bulk buying discounts and various postage costs. It would be useful if you could add a quantity to a search and could then sort the results based on the total price + postage costs, or, if you can already do this, for it to be more intuitive as I couldn’t figure out a way to do it.

- Love eBay

I haven’t really ever used eBay but since isolation I have and I love it easy to use and easy to contact seller if you have any concerns. I love that you can put on wish list then getting at really cheap price ! A few things that might need a tweak is getting message from eBay to review a product before receiving the product, things are a little slow with receiving at this time with all that’s going on so would also be good making easy to see what country your purchasing from sometimes I find it hard to see where is coming from, purchasing from your own country is much quicker then oversea.

- IPhone 12 Pro buggy and lagging

Great app but suffers from some major issues on the iPhone 12 Pro.. at least for me personally. Every time I open or launch the app it lags up to 10 seconds before it responds to any touch. I press icons o try to navigate but it just freezes then suddenly everything I’ve tapped on it attempted to search for happens all at once… very strange. I’ve tried reinstalling and even closing all apps in the background. There are no updates that have addressed this issue for the iPhone 12 and it’s quite frustrating as I’m a regular user. Please please please address and fix this buggy lagginess. Apart from this it’s a great app but could do with some minor tweaks and changes for ease of use.

- Cannot see item description

Suddenly I can no longer see the item descriptions when I use the app. There is just a statement that says Item Description from Seller. But no link, no description. This renders that app useless so I am currently just going directly to the web page. But I would like to be able to use this app again if this flaw can be repaired

- Can be great

3 stars maybe even 2 rather then 5.... why? The eBay international global shipping program doesn't make much sense to me. I purchased something a few weeks ago, the seller was a 16 hour drive from me, yet global shipping sent it on a trip that was half way round the world from me, and took two weeks to show up. eBay needs or should have east and west central shipping depots with their international global shipping program, because I won't use it again because of this experience.

- Can't organize my Collection

Can't organize my Collection on app and add items on collections

- Worst Shopping App

Can't do half what you can on the website. Can't view purchases beyond 60days, can't view wish lists or add watched list to your wish list. Shopping experience is terrible too as the resolve on bad transactions always favours the seller even if product info is wrong or they lie.

- Not good at all

I hate it soooo much i live in Canada but every time I change the settings to Canada it changes back to United States I have tried every this app is the worst!!!!!

- Why are shipping prices so crazy

I have been on ebay a long time at one time it was a good place to shop now people are putting there shipping prices so high that it is a joke. A small $20.00 piece and $90.00 shipping. Used to love shopping on ebay. But makes more sense to shop at Amazon, sorry

- can’t sell

can’t setup an acc it always lags and crashes

The app has had an issue with not displaying the # of views for a listed item for a while now. I have seen other’s complaints regarding the same issue for some time now, but yet still no fix. I no longer really use the app other than as a buyer. As a seller I stick now to desktop.

- Bad shipping. Don’t bother.

They don’t bother shipping during the pandemic. I lost a few hundred dollars because they can’t be bothered to refund you for lost items. It’s a waste of time and money. Don’t bother with eBay.

- Where did item descriptions go?

Where did item descriptions go? Hello. Why haven’t you guys noticed this on an iPhone app? Where did the items descriptions go? Why can’t item description be selected on the app? Where did the items descriptions go? Did this get Your attention yet? Please Fix the item descriptions!!!!

- Brisé!

La description des produits n’est plus accessible…

- Aware about the new update

The items prescription disappeared. You have to go to the the website to read the details of each item. This makes the app totally useless.

- Bad

Would give 0 stars if possible, i dislike it enough to leave a review… by far the worst experience ive had with a “buy and sell” platform. Most convoluted system ive ever encountered. Also runs up your screen time even when the app is fully closed in the background.

- Ebay sucks . PERIOD

Sellers BEWARE eBay is the play-field for all the scammers.. it doesnt matter what you sell, how well and proper the description of your items is... all buyer has to do is “this is not as described” and you lose your money and items!!! And the nail on coffin is you CANT even give negative feedback to buyers.. its just NOT an option.. but buyers can “blackmail” you to post negative feedback if you dont do their demands. F eBay!

- I can’t even post a listing on the app! Fix it!

The app has bugs that it needs so fix so people can actually post listings. When I post a listing for clothing it asks for the size, and I select it but then it disappears seconds later. You can’t post a listing without selecting the size of the clothing! It needs to be fixed!

- DO NOT UPDATE Saved Searches is F’d

The new update & redesign is f'n awful. You literally screwed up the entire user experience of the Saved Searches/ Watching lists into a complete mess. DO NOT UPDATE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ANGRY EVERY TIME YOU USE THE APP.

- Saved Searches

The new saved searches feature suuuux. Put it back the way it was

- No descriptions

This app is horrible. Can’t see any item descriptions for a long time now. Can’t sell or buy without item descriptions.

- Why is there no description on items?!

There is no item description option on ads!! Theres a title that says “item description from seller” but there is no drop down menu or button on or around the title at all!! Fix this!!

- J’aime les kebabs

Les kebabs ses délicieux 🦧🦍🦏🦬🐄

- iPad, can’t read descriptions…

Can’t read description on my iPad mobile app. Ridiculous. Been a problem now for weeks and apparently known to ebay but not addressed.

- New update still didn’t fix Item Description issue

So finally after a week of frustration with the Item Description unavailable to view in the app, eBay finally sends out another app update presumably to fix this issue. Guess what? Still can’t access Item Description on the app. Ebay is a bunch of 🤡🤡🤡

- Can’t access item descriptions even after update

I just updated to the new version offered today, and the item descriptions are still inaccessible. The ‘buy again’ tab is cute—though the ‘similar items’ are often anything but—though as a buyer, the item descriptions are most vital to making purchase decisions. Please fix!

- Ebay App

You can’t “request total” on the app when purchasing multiple items from the same dealer. Also, because of the recent update, you can no longer read the item description! The app should be improving, not getting worse.

- Buggy

The latest version is too buggy to be used. Links don’t work.

- New update sucks

Unable to purchase anything on the app now , have to go on safari/ chrome apps which making this app useless

- Terrible service

Was suspended from eBay on my first day of selling with literally no reason given. Called 'customer service' which is just an automated service to try and direct you away from a human. When I finally got in touch and asked why this happened I was hung up on. Finally got through a second time to have a slightly longer conversation where I was told that I could not be told why I was suspended but that it was permanent and I couldn't speak to any supervisor. Disgusting service, all I wanted to do was sell some Yu-Gi-Oh cards...

- Does not work

I am in Canada. The field automatically fills in United Kingdom. I turned off the automatic region selection toggle in settings. The app still insists I am in the United Kingdom and will not allow me to change it. I cannot sell without filling this information. The whole experience has been very frustrating.

- Sellers: get used to waiting extra days for payments!

[edit 3: Aug, 2022] Since eBay stopped receiving payments thru PayPal, their “Managed” Payments platform demands direct access to my bank account and yet when I sell on eBay, buyers can pay by PayPal, then funds sit in a void somewhere for at least 2 days, by which point eBay alerts me that payment has cleared and it’s time to ship the item… despite still taking an indeterminate number of additional DAYS for a penny of it to reach me. Wise up, eBay. If I’m shipping product, maybe I’m relying on that payment to pay for shipping, so quit evaluating my shipping time if your system doesn’t release it to me when the buyer pays. Example: item sold Thursday, July 28. Two days later, eBay shows payment for that amount “received” in my account, but I haven’t received squat. It’s Monday, August 1. EBay says I have no payments pending; shows a payment for that item sold and paid for July 28, but 4 days later, It’s not in my account. I have a “shipping overdue” notice from eBay, but until that money is received and accessible to me, I’m not taking money from somewhere else to pay to ship what I’m not yet paid for. [edit: #2 for May, 2022: So does your app development team not pay QA testers or what? • Quit sending me to start a new listing when I click to revise an existing listing. May, 2022- Why so many functions that just sputter and do nothing? “List Similar” just sends me to a blank template. Who even tests your code?] [2nd edit for April, 2022: who runs development on this app and why the lack of QA testing?! •Latest update only offers a short list of inadequate shipping options for sellers! Will I no longer be able to use my preferred shipper? If so, you just lost ALL of my business! ALL of it! Edit: April, 2022: “Revise Listing” starts new listing. I need Revise Listing to let me revise my listings. I can find no way to revise my listings from the app now.] Canadian account. Settings: location: Canada. Address: in Canada. So why does app tell me listings offer free shipping, but when I click them, they say to contact seller for shipping quote and they aren’t offering free shipping anyway? Please fix! Very unreliable and frustrating for buyers and sellers! This must lead to bid retractions already. Sloppy. Don’t trust it. •Also: “Item Specifics” system is a mess. Sellers told to fill out as many fields as possible, so when answering “no” or “n/a” to some, then multiple other fields appear, requiring input when it doesn’t apply. Now I get error messages of “problems” in my Item Specifics entries… so show me what the problem entry is, not the entire list with no indications what the problem is! •Ebay, your Global Shipping Program (disguised as “expedited shipping” on the product page) is a racket. Items ship to Kentucky, potentially get re packed, shipped to Canada in a more cost-effective box. Did you catch that? Buyers pay for shipping twice, in one bigger shipping fee, but service deteriorates. Items often show a long process of clearing customs 3 times(why?) in a 1-day period and that is probably the last tracking update you will see before it reaches your address. Not home? Too bad. The local courier here in Vancouver offers no pickup option and makes a mere 2 “attempts” that they refuse to inform you of or offer scheduling beyond “maybe tomorrow”. The last driver from this company didn’t even buzz my apartment. I went out to meet him and he never left his car, he was just idling in the street. Rude and scummy company called “Apple Express” and their business model shows no regard for making deliveries, merely getting paid for 2 half-assed “attempts”. My previous order shipped through them and got cancelled. I phoned to inquire and eBay said the item was noted in my account as “destroyed”. Seller shipped a duplicate at their own expense.

- Add print option for business

This app needs a print option added for sellers printing business transactions.

- Charged fees in a no fee category

Sold athletic shoes and still lost around 20% due to fees despite their no fee promotion in that category. Will never sell on here again

- refunded but not enough

they give refund that not the same as i paid for that costumer service cant explain to me why.its seems like scam

- Saved searches

Not updating on new update for iPhone. Works on iPad

- ?

Its a terrible app and how little the company doesn’t do anything more to improve it and i have sold something on there but it doesn’t seem to be able to marked it as shipped

- Wildd

taxed on used items that are sold for less than original (taxed) price

- Never works

Over the past few months Every single time I open the app, no matter if I’m using wifi or data, nothing loads

- Dm

Cannot list items anymore. Crashes every effing time. Thanks

- Since Amazon

Feebay charge way too much, and screw sellers big time. It was bad before but since bezos bought it, it has gotten 1000x worse!

- EBay stands with the seller against customers

This is what’s happened to! Bought an item that took over 2 weeks to arrive. Of course arrived damaged for the second time. The first time a thought I’m not lucky and missed the return window. Bought again the same item and again arrived broken thanks to eBay or the seller. Had 60 days return policy. I contacted eBay support and and they refused to help or contact the seller saying that I missed 30 window return by 4 days. Even though the had 60 days return window. So unfair! Lost my money and a lot of my time. Just know before you buy, that may happen to you too as it happened to me.

- constantly crashes

since the last update, i can barely open the search bar before the app crashes. resetting, refreshing, reinstalling… no matter what it’s the same. gross.

- Is it worthwhile?

I sold on eBay until they changed the payment system. I live in Canada but legally buy and sell in USA. I sell comics to build my collection. If I sell on eBay I am finding they end up with 17 to 21% or more of the total sale. They double charge me by- -forcing me to convert us sales to Canadian currency at an exchange rate they set favourably to themselves. Plus a fee for the service. Part 2 is when I buy on the same site I sell on And they convert can $ to USA $ at a rate favourable to themselves Plus again charging a fee for the service Due to their arbitrary scale the different the exchange rate is the more they take So is it worthwhile? I seem to be ending up with the sales figure in cnd $ Sold for 100 us I get 100 cdn Doesn’t it seem like I’m working for eBay?

- Garbage

So sad . eBay has gotten horrible these days . Cannot get help with anything . And they want to take as much$ as they do ? No thanks . I’m done!

- Absolute garbage

eBay will not help customers when items do not arrive. They also remove the feedback button before items arrive so you cannot give 1 star reviews. eBay blows!

- Better to use web version

Leaves a lot to be desired. Not user friendly. I want to be on ebay uk but my country Canada. Can’t seem to do that. Functions hidden away, like logging out.

- App is a scam

The eBay team blocked me after I paid for an item. First time using eBay and I got blocked after paying.

- App wants me to update, App Store says its up to date

Can’t use the app because of a stupid bug. Refuse to buy a new iPhone to use eBay. Fix your stupid update or exit dialog box. App Store says app is up to date

Never never NEVER! Get my stuff on time and HORRIBLE custumer srevices.. never order on that site, rather go on amazon.. at lease they got prime for fast deliverie whit a GARENTIED delivery date!

- Authoritarian policies and customer service

Worst experience ever. Don’t recommend. Avoid

- Broken

I just opened up an account with them trying to sell my comic books fast but they put my account on hold for some reason and they won’t let me reinstate it I don’t know why.

- Foreign exchange ripp off

When I canceled my purchase I got only around 94% of the original amount. As a customer I shouldn’t have to care about the exchange fees. The way it’s operating is stupid!
