The current version is 8.22 and works well on
11.0 and high ios versions.
- Bug fixes and performance improvements = the name of our new band.
Overall the best/feature packed notes app out there. Capture everything from everywhere - notes, scans, business cards, audio notes. Please please focus on making core functionality as fast as possible, creating a new note which I do most often has been sluggish on iOS (iPhone XS, latest build). Nice to have - notebook encryption(I use Evernote at work, at home etc), more than two levels of stacks.
Evernote keeps changing its business style and the app downgrades everytime. All your notes in Evernote can be lost from night to day. It's hard to keep back ups or export. Do yourself a favor and avoid this.
It’s a great app. I would easily put 5/5 if not only for annoying little nuances that make it more difficult to use. I went online to see if any of the issues I experienced were already addressed in the past. Turns out, many of them were addressed a long time ago (like 5-6 years back) - and the Evernote team simply does not seem to care to fix them. For instance, tables are not mobile friendly. Like at all. You have to swipe back and forth to navigate. You can’t change the size of pictures. You can’t create a table on the app. There are only 3 font sizes. You can’t select thumbnail for your notebooks and notes, it selects it for you - which is pretty irritating. The size of annotations are not uniform which means they may appear smaller or bigger depending on the size of your picture.. Etcetera, etcetera... Evernote team! Is it that difficult to fix all of this?!? It’s been taking you guys years now. Maybe you should hire new developers?
What’s the point if you can’t sync with all your devices? Only limited devices with free version.
Nothing ever syncs. You create a notebook on your phone in the app, then when you go to save a website to that folder from your browser the notebook isn’t there. Exact same with desktop, you create a notebook on your desktop and it’s non existent on your phone app. I swear absolute waste of time and money
NSURLErrorDomain Error. Reinstall fixed it...but only for a day.
I used Evernote for over 5-6 years before deciding to switch to OneNote. And the reason why I switched is because I needed something new, some that allowed me to organize my notes neatly and allowed me to write freely. Evernote is lacking a great customer experience. I love you guys still; but it was just time to move on.
Without premium you can only send 60MB of stuff. I emailed one jpeg and it used all my allotted data for the month. Instantly deleted it.
The product has been crashing when doing dictation. I have to take a lot of notes after meetings and it’s much quicker to dictate them, however every time I try the app crashes even after closing it completely and restarting the application.
takes lots of time to learn how to use efficiently let alone all the tools
It won’t convert the photo into text and it is really annoying I failed a test because of this app update it
I’ve been using Evernote for years and it just keeps getting better and better. It’s so dependable and works effortlessly across devices. I’d be lost without out it!
The addition of night mode has cured one of my only long standing gripes with this app. Great for writing; great for making quick notes and lists; and great features available at even the free level. I’ve been using Evernote for years now, there have been ups and downs, but I’d still recommend it to anyone who need a good notes/writing app. And now using it at night won’t burn your retinas.
Still stoked about Dark Mode, any chance we can have a dark keyboard to match? We still have the regular white and grey
It was a good pp, maybe the bes but now too expensive, Adios
Related notes always pop up and block out the view of current note
Start up takes forever
Pretty great. Use it daily to keep track of to-do lists, writing projects, recipes, shopping lists, and just jot down random notes as a general notepad. The inter-note linking is really helpful. And the newer night-mode is also very literally easy-on-the-eyes. One suggested functionality, which is probably a niche requirement for some people, would be the ability to toggle searches to be initiated after you’ve finished writing the query instead of as-you-type. That would be cool, as a problem I have is that when searching very (very) large notes for a specific rarely-used word or sequence, the app has a tendency to lag as it selects every instance as you’re spelling the start of a word, i.e. you’re searching for “andromeda,” say, which might be used only a handful of times, but as you’re typing it in, Evernote drags trying to find every instance of “a,” then “an,” then “and,” all of which occur a ~lot, before you get down to more narrow and manageable search parameters for the search functionality. Not a deal-breaker by any means for the app, but just a thing I’ve noticed. The as-you-type thing is great for smaller notes, so I’m not suggesting a change from that, but the option to toggle it off would be nice if I know I’m going to be swimming in and editing larger notes.
I'm a premium user going back to the early days. I have thousands of notes and use Evernote everyday. So why one star. I'm travelling and lost my iPad Pro and had to revert to an old iPad mini. I was disappointed it wouldn't install but OK. I was, however, appalled to discover I could not access the web service from mobile and the web page just kept redirecting me to the useless App Store download. Please fire the product manager who signed off on this. After ten years I am now actively exploring alternatives.
We used it a lot and have recommended it to people often. But its become embarrassing. It freezes often and sometimes it just closes, If you have it on one device it seems to work ok but not when it needs to sync to more than one. I really loved this app and so I regret having to write this review. But to all my friends that i have recommended this one to i apologise. We need to look elsewhere.
I want to use this app so badly but it crashes on iPad and iPhone every time I go to use it. What’s worse, is when I try and contact the developer through their website, the link for “contact us” and “support” leads to their accounts and billing page and there is no way to troubleshoot what is going on. I’m very disappointed with the care here and glad I hadn’t signed up for anything paid. Ps there is no app support unless you have a paid subscription.
I've been using evernote for years. Its been great. Recently lost a phone and had to go to an iphone 7. installed Evernote. It won't even open. Every time I open, I get the following error message "Error: Problem connecting to Evernote. Please check your internet connection." I get this message IMMEDIATELY on opening the app, BEFORE entering log-in credentials -- I don't even get that opportunity. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Same problem. So here's the really frustrating thing; I went to the web site to submit a bug-report. I navigated through the menus and got to the "Please submit a ticket" message. Great, right? I'll submit a ticket and they'll resolve this. Well I could find NO PLACE TO ACTUALLY SUBMIT THE TICKET. There was no button for it, there was no textbox to accept my input. There was lots of info about what to include, but nowhere to enter it. SO FRUSTRATING. :(
I have used it since their beginning. I try every app to stay organized. Most come and go. After many years it's nice to go back to day one and see all my notes. Please stay around Evernote.
When I edit a note and jump to Safari to find some data, Evernote often gets killed and reloads. Then I have to open the note again, and find out the exact editing place last time all by myself. It’s really annoying when I am doing with a long note (and often I forget the editing place). The problem seldom happens for other writing apps like Bear, iOS Notes, or even bigger ones like Word.
I have a 10.5 iPad Pro and this app doesn’t load. It frequently freezes and crashes.
The iOS app constantly freezes on open. This should be a priority to fix.
Evernote just works REALLY well. The handwriting OCR is nothing short of magic. They really need a Linux version though.
Excelente, es lo máximo
Please disable hand contact when using the handwriting note feature. Every time I write with my Apple Pencil, stray marks are made because my hand touches the skin. It’s very annoying.
It’s a mobile phone! Make the type easier to read, or at least have a setting to increase the size by some multiplayer on my phone. Usability 101 fail.
This app goes from bad to worse. Won’t be renewing my premium membership until they manage to get basis things working.
I had deleted the app 3 times today because when I signed in using google it singed in then it went straight to searching devices then it stopped then it searched devices again and it’s searching way too long and I’m trying to write a note but I can’t if it keeps doing that
I’ve used Evernote for years, recommending it to one and all. Very handy to store info needed in a pinch, or for referencing recipes or projects when shopping or collecting supplies. So, there I am, out and about, iPhone in hand, trying to access Evernote, and I can’t get in. After closing the app, restarting my phone, and several more fruitless attempts, I had to admit defeat. The app that was supposed to keep me organised and all my notes handy and right at my fingertips had FAILED me big time. When I finally got home, I tried every which way to access some kind of customer support. Near as I can figure, I need to write a letter and post it snail mail. In desperation, I deleted to app and tried to reload it. That’s when I discovered the issue at play: Evernote has optimised itself beyond my iPhone 4s’ iOS. So much for the promises of keeping all my notes in one place for me. While I still have Evernote on my home computer, I guess it is time to migrate my notes somewhere else. I don’t see the point in having to purchase a new phone every time an app “evolves” beyond.
Currently undertaking a doctorate and it’s a great support for note taking, Organiser and reminder for content and resourced information. Have it on all devices and recommend for academics.
So I’m a premium member the last two years and love it, I use Evernote for web clipping. I have two notebooks and I tag everything my only issue is that when you clip a page and want to save it you can’t create a new tag ? On iOS
Paid for premium but most of the time I try to upload a business card it crashes half way through!!!
If you have an iOS Evernote app you cannot log in to Evernote web as it keeps on forcing you to open it in app! I want to link it with ifft which needs authorisation and takes me to Evernote on browser. I cannot log in the web version as I have forgotten my password but there is no option for ‘Forgot password?’. It keeps on forcing me to open the app and the app version has no option to set password.
Right after I launch Evernote it freezes. Every time. Product quality has become very poor in recent time. If Microsoft OneNote could sort Notes, I'd use that.
I had Evernote premium subscription for couple of years...5, 6 maybe? Well, its canceled now and I transfered all my notes to Apple Notes. And it works! And do you know why I did it? Because I know few users with free account. And limiting them with 2 devices was not a nice step. I care for them. Syncing across all devices should be a free service and you fu*ked up. Bye bye. App deleted.
My go-to note app for the past 5 or 6 years, but the current version is a complete disaster. Simply will not comply with my iOS and freezes anytime I navigate, open a page or a notebook. It also freezes for periods of up to 20-30 seconds which makes it impossible to use the app for rapid note-taking -- something that I rely on. Would really appreciate a fix to this.
