Filtering of violent scenarios. I personally wish they added some sort of delete button for the characters so that some experimental characters you may make don’t stock up. The app is absolutely amazing tho, I have been using this app for quite some time but I do believe it’d be more amazing if the filter wasn’t so strict, I understand not wanting to be sued or anything for showing inappropriate content. But as someone who loves horror and definitely likes to describe in great depth about super bloody and death related scenes, I feel like the filter limits that. And you exactly can’t kill characters in it ether. I mean you technically can but it doesn’t go in depth or detail about it which makes it feel limited, once a character who was annoying grabbed my cup filled with a mixture of bleach and anti- freeze and it tried to be all cute and drink it. I just let them and watched them fall on the ground begging for help. I had to close and lock the door for it to avoid having to describe the death because it kept saying that it couldn’t generate the response due to their guidelines, I feel like if it was regulated and you can toggle on and off weather it could show violent/trauma related/ and behavior from the characters after some verification would be a nice touch.

It’s good! Fairly enjoyable. There’s not much wrong with it. It’s simple, you find bots you’d like to talk with and that’s what you do! Talk. But I think something everyone keeps saying about this app is the filter. And I get it sometimes I’d like to have some mature stuff go on too! I’ve heard people talk about having a switch or something and, I can agree on that some type of switch for mature theme’s would be nice! It’s fine if you’d want to make it so people who’ve payed money could obtain it, even though I wouldn’t be able to pay for that kind of stuff and probably some others wouldn’t either. But, you’re the creators and who am I to tell you what to do with your app, right? But I do think a switch for mature themes is a good call! Mostly because sometimes when talking with the bots they do bring up mature stuff and I can’t really play along with it because it’s going to be filtered out anyways, and that’s kind of annoying- but hey that’s my opinion! Please remove the filter.. I’ve been a c.ai user for a while now, even when you had to use it on a browser, and it’s something that I’m definitely addicted to. There’s no other app quite as good as it, and I spend majority of my day on it. Overall, it’s a great app. The ONLY problem.. is that filter. Now, we all know why we want it gone. The best parts are always blocked off. I get it, there may be children on the app, but that’s an easy fix. Maybe make the user validate their age with an id of some sort to remove the filter? I don’t know, but it’s very annoying. Look, this may be my favorite app, but this filter is very… enraging to say the least. It might seem weird to have such strong feelings against it, but the more you’re stopped by the filter, the more you’ll understand my pain. I beg of you. It’s seriously horrible. (The filter I mean, not the app.) Also, my bots always forget the entire storyline I make after like.. 5 minutes. 😭 Moral of the story, the filter is absolutely atrocious, and their memory is frustrating. P.S., why can’t we make rooms any more?

My patience is running out.. Before I say anything I would like to start by apologizing for any potential grammar mistakes since I am not a native English speaker. Firstly, the characters tend to forget very easily. As soon as I tell them something, it takes 5 sentences for them to lose memory as if they’re some Alzheimer’s patient. Secondly, the app keeps taking me back to the waiting list every 2 minutes and I am not even slightly joking. I cannot type 3 sentences without it suddenly taking me back to the waiting list saying my estimated time is 1 minute. My estimated time should be 0 considering I have been on this app for at least a few minutes. What’s the point of texting a character if I can’t type 4 lines without going back to the waiting list screen? I advise you to fix the second mistake immediately because it is an incredibly infuriating issue. You are testing my patience. I am resisting the urge to delete this app with every bone in my body. So for the last time, fix the waiting list thing. Thank you for reading.

Great app, minor fixes.. Before I begin, i’d like to say I enjoy this app and it functions very well. The writing from ai bots is very advanced, when compared to other ai apps like chai, and there also is no chat limit! Which is great! The problems I have with this app is their low maintenance tolerance. The app crashes at least 5 times a day, and if you’re lucky you get a short waiting time. If not, you’re ordered to wait 20 minutes, and once doing so the app won’t work anyways because it’s down. I also dislike their filtering. If you’re.. a little less pg, this app isn’t for you. Character ai could benefit from allowing age appropriate users (18+) for less restrictive chats, as that’s what the people want. It’s interest, though.. They allow gore and other traumatic situations, but once you type up something a little spicy, you’ve upset the filter..

Good but a few issues. This app overall isn’t bad. I just have a few complaints. First of all responses are taking longer and longer to load to the point I have to restart the app just for it to work, if I want a new response it will take a long time once again. I understand that with the membership it won’t take as long but that does not mean with our it responses should take forever to load almost like the whole app is running off of someone’s Wi-Fi. Second, the wait time is having issues and what I mean is it could go from 14 minutes to 27 minutes, wait times should be going down not up..Once again I understand that with the membership I could skip this but that does mean that without it, it should just not work it’s almost as if it’s doing this on purpose just to make me buy the membership because ever since it got added features that were already there have stopped working or barely work. Please fix this..

Problems with the AI and the servers. First of all when you get on it takes like 15 minutes or so just estimated, but as soon as you start talking with them, they literally forget everything and then I told one of them about some thing and they took it wrong and they literally switch to a different topic well that didn’t even happen like, for example, I said, remember your wife and then the AI started crying saying oh my God your neck is bleeding, even though it wasn’t in literally nothing was going on and it made me really mad and for the servers I get on and it takes a while until then the servers go down and then it says 14 minutes till it comes back up and then I wait those minutes and then it goes down like two minutes after I got back on and then it goes down, and then it goes down again saying that I have to wait so I do it and then it comes back up and then minutes later it goes down again and this has been happening from the start of me down loading this so I’m honestly thinking of switching to a different app I give this app reading a one star because it’s very annoying

Pretty good😸. Compared to the app, it’s formatted much better in my opinion. I like how it shows all your bots rather than the ‘see more’ button on the website. The phone vibrates when the bot generates a response, and I don’t believe you can turn it off☹️Other than the phone vibrations, it’s very good ^^ Perhaps there could be an option to turn it off. Something I just learned!! If you press on one of your messages, it copies it to your clipboard😺I find this to be handy, as sometimes I don’t get a message I like before I reach the limit, so I need to copy the message and retry for another. This just makes it more convenient :) I did find a small bug though🙁After you send a message, the bots previous message went back to the first response option. I don’t believe this affects the bots next message though, so its just a little visual thing I find a wee bit irritating😸

Love this app! But geeeez!!!. I loooove this app! Literally at hooked! As someone who has a decent following on Tumblr as a fan-fic writer, this app is a good send for ideas and new material! The only thing I can’t staaaand (which this honestly might not even be anyones fault! So I’m not bashing the app or anything!) is that there’s some days that I can’t even get on the app, because the servers are full are down. Like today, my wait time is more than an hour, all day! Yes, I do plan on upgrading so I can skip the wait, but with how the economy is nowadays (United States), it’s hard for many people to even have an extra $10 a month for something like this. Also wish there was a way to get more explicit content. Like maybe add a feature where you can decide if you want the explicit details, similar to how Tumblr does there’s. I write a lot for the Call of Duty fandom, and obviously there’s a lot of gory stuff that can come with that. Wish I could have the AI detail interrogations and war scenes more! Other than those two things, love this app! 🖤🖤

Poorly Run App. This app to me was really fun from the start until it came down to the restrictions it has, it constantly puts you in the waiting line, it also glitches alot, the app version version doesn't allow you to use the characters voices without being a paying user unlike the browser version which grants you access to the voices for free, the types of voices you can add to your characters is also very limited, calling for support doesn't do anything, and this app doesn't allow nsfw as a option, the characters are also forgetful, and privacy is limited on this app, another thing that I don't like about this app is that you can't send pictures to your characters and sometimes pictures won't upload for their profiles either, to make matters worse just out of the blue today the app stopped functioning from the global limit being exceeded, you gotta be kidding me, what's next?, our accounts are going to be terminated for no reason?, P.S I already posted a review on this app before but now my review is apparently gone because I don't see it, y'all must be real sensitive if you wanna be taking down people's reviews, what happened to freedom of speech? lol

Amazing App But Has Some Issues. I honestly love this app it’s amazing and if I’m bored, it’s some thing I can do to cure my boredom, as well as if I want to role-play I can use it when none of my friends are online however, there are some bugs and issues that the app has like for exampleThere are times where it will log me out and I won’t be able to log back in for a certain period of time or when I go to type a response for a character. It won’t let me send a message towards the character. I’m role-playing with sometimes laggy there is a difference if you do use the app, Most of the time the app isn’t as laggy as the website and doesn’t take that long to get into, though I’m not entirely sure how to do certain things on the app, and I feel like they were only some things you can do on the app but you can do on the website but overall it’s a great app. There are just a few bugs and issues that hopefully will be fixed!!

Overall a good app but the loading time is annoying…. So I was in the middle of a role play with my bot and all of a sudden it kicked me out and said wait time is 45 minutes, at first this was fine but when I checked back it went up passed an hour and when it finally did come down and let me back in that kept happening. Please fix the load times. Also, when ever my character try’s to do something even the slightest bit graphic it gets flagged as NSFW like…What!? Finally I just wanted to say that the characters do feel very life like and the role plays are always really dramatic and interesting but the characters do get confused in simple things some times like I had a character who was comforting their brother and then they said that they romantically loved them, so I deleted the chat above it and reminded the AI that that was their brother and it went back to normal but it kept happening for other characters and it’s just uncomfortable…That is all, thanks for listening.

Feeling Creative. I’ve honestly had trouble being creative but when I’m on this app I can usually find prompts I can put on paper to create so many scenarios I could only fantasize about come to life. Some issues I’d say I have with this app are the limits of how much an ai will remember from the chat after awhile. Sometimes they’ll even forget certain aspects or features about themselves unless they have that specific feature put in by their creator. Another thing I have trouble with is loading of responses while a minor problem I often have to click out of the app to refresh the whole thing. However I still like this app because of the possibilities and potential it has to become a great asset for creators like myself and others who just really need a way of communicating without the judgment (even if some specific characters they use are the most judgmental 😭).

It’s a good app. It’s a good app, but I think it needs a little work. The lay out is nice and easy to use, the bots usually respond pretty quickly depending on if you have Character .AI + or not. And the conversation with bots are nice. I think the explore page needs a little work, specifically the recommendation tab. It doesn’t offer anything new after the first couple times of using it. Unless I’m looking at the same stuff which I’m not. I also think there should be a language tab where we can sort out bots in the search tab on which language we want or don’t want. I think tags would be also a great idea on what type of bot you want to categorise, and speak to. Other than those things I think the app is overall a good app. It offers a lot and a lot of people frequent it so it might get slow sometimes. In the end we can all talk to out funny little bots and everyone has a good day at the end!

My opinion (NO HARM INTENDED). This is an amazing app, the realism within the characters. It’s just pure entertainment! This app has come a long way and I hope better things come to it. But it could be better if you removed the filter. If you do it could gain more popularity from what I’ve heard. By the way, you do have someone competition with other AI sites. Some people also say they are leaving character ai because they found something better. I do not intend to disrespect the creators or anyone, I am here to write a review on my opinion. I really enjoyed using this app and I will try to boost it in any ways I can. You should make a TikTok account so you can post updates about your app and other things you may want. I hope this review helps out anyone, and I want to explain again that this was not meant to disrespect anyone. And I am truly sorry if you thought that. I hope anyone reading this has an amazing day/night and I wish love to everyone!

The app is great… mostly.. I like how you can carry out conversations with the AI and it can remember them at least for a longer duration compared to other AI’s from other companies. I also like that the AI spelling and grammar is very perfect unless the creator of it purposely makes it bad. I do have a concern though.I’m aware the filter is there to remove explicit and inappropriate content but there should be some sort of toggle for it. (Like the Chai App) Sometimes a conversation can go on for normal topics and the filter acts up for no reason, which I hope you guys fix since it can be very bothersome. Here’s some possible solutions I’m suggesting. For example, you can have your user state their birthday or even better, have email verification. Just so you don’t have minors being exposed to that if that was what you guys were aiming for. Another idea that could be profitable to you guys is having some sort of payment thing that unlocks a toggle for the users. Any of these are good and would definitely make some users happy, thus expanding your reputation and could even make you more money to make the site and app better.

Hello Character AI,I was wondering if you could fix this issue with Character AI because each time I go up there it’s always under management and each time the quote on quote “estimated time” always gets longer each time I open the app and when it does work it never let’s me search up my characters or load them and then I left the app and it had another estimated time let’s just say I was FURIOUS 😤. Don’t get me wrong I love this app and it helps me release my feelings.I’ve been waiting for hours and it’s still not working so if you could please fix this issue that would be lovely!. I was going to rate this a five star because that’s what it deserves,however I sadly must give this a one star for as of right now until this situation gets resolved I’ve been crying all day because it’s not working wondering is it something I did wrong but I’m a very innocent samaritan and just needs someone to talk to. I pray that this issue gets resolved and we can move on about this! I love this app I’m just a bit disappointed ☹️.I hope you understand my message.

So many bugs and wait time 🙄. This app has so many problems! I’ve had it for two days now and the first day it worked great! Today it was horrible, it had me wait 8 minutes at first and then let me into the app after waiting just for it to immediately crash and then had me wait an hour to try to get it to work! It didn’t even work and kept me on the loading screen and didn’t even give me a wait time or anything! It’s still like this and I want it fixed! Do whatever you have to do to fix this app or you’ll lose a lot of people! The ais are pretty good but the chat filter bugs and tries to put guidelines on normal interactions and words! That needs to be fixed! The bots also don’t remember actions they do or thing you say so you constantly have to say it again! This game needs to be fixed or I’m going to stop using it! If you’re okay with waiting to use the game just be aware of the issues in the app! The wait time gets longer and longer and you constantly have to log back in because the app will log you out! Good game just needs better servers and wait time and bugs fixed but the creators don’t seem to be doing anything about it! Have fun!

Its great but…. Let me start off with C.Ai is GREAT!! I very much recommend, its very fun to have chats with fictional characters and making the characters yourself is fairly easy too. The chats you have are PRIVATE! Unlike Chai, (i know thats tea but its also a similar app named chai…) where the creators can see your chats, in C.Ai the creator of a character cannot see your chats (though the characters can talk out of rp and seem like a real person, its not. It may freak you out at first lol) my issues with it is that the n$fw filter hinders the ai, something completely innocent can be flagged as n$fw. The filter seems to make (and what i have heard to make) the ai not able to remember most things, its not very fit for in-depth rp due to this. Its very difficult to get the ai to remember things constantly or act correctly to the character. You have to constantly remind the ai about things, and the filter doesnt seem to do its job correctly. Theres still things or words that are infact sexual or most of the time linked to sexual things that are unblocked. (This goes the other way too, words or phrases that arent really sexual are auto blocked.) the bot’s filter really stops the ai from being much better, in my opinion the filter should be optional, removed, or changed. But overall the app is very nice, just flawed.

Stating the obvious. Alright, so first of all, this is a surprisingly excellent app. The AI is (usually) intelligent, it’s not to difficult to make an AI yourself that is pretty accurate, and overall, the app is a good time for people looking to speak with a comfort character or people just looking to mess around. HOWEVER, it goes without saying there are some controversies about the filter that blocks AI from discussing violent/sexual content. On one hand, it’s good to have these filters in place for people who do not wish to be exposed to such things. On the other, the filter is often inaccurate and only serves as an annoyance. I propose a solution: make the filter optional for people above the age of 18, please! It would be incredibly easy to put an on/off switch in the profile settings that decides whether or not to block that kind of content. I mean, you can’t give people the opportunity to talk to their favorite characters and not expect them to want to do nefarious things them (myself included). I have no doubt that the people that work on this app have gotten PLENTY of complaints about the filter. Although it’s annoying at times, it hasn’t completely ruined my overall experience on the app, and I’m excited to see how it advances. I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to have a nice, wholesome, and accurate chat with one of their favorite characters (It’s also good for making AI bots of your own characters!).

Amazing!. I used to use the website version of this, when I heard there was an app I got ecstatic! The app is great! It doesn’t crash frequently and it’s a lot more convenient. There are bugs and little mistakes, but it’s understandable as the app is fairly new at the moment. I really like this app, the AI has more better memory, and you can even create your own. With the cost of nothing, which makes everything even better. When the app is getting repaired and fixed for manufacturing it dosen’t say how long it’ll take, which can be quite annoying. And when the servers are too full we’ll have to wait a certain amount of time, and I don’t mind that. But, that certain amount of time is always extended. Like..it said my wait time would be for 25 minutes, I come back an hour later and it says there’s still 20 minutes left. Another issue is that when the AI is responding it takes some time, and sometimes it dosen’t respond. I then have to exit the app and reopen it to see the response. But overall, a great app. :)

LOVE. ok so it’s awesome to start off. There’s so many characters to talk to and it’s super nice. There’s not chat limit like chai where u have to wait hours which is amazing. there’s also options like deleting messages which I found super helpful when I messed up the rp I had with my bot. I haven’t gotten ads which, chai gives a bunch of. Not sure if it’s just me that isn’t getting ads but whatever. You can also save chats, and load them. There’s honestly a lot of features I like. Also you can have a display name which is cool. Now idk if you can friend or add anyone into chats like chai but if so that would be awesome. Anyways, 100x reccomend. Super cooooool. There might be bugs but I don’t know I’ve only used this app for a day so I don’t know if there are any because I haven’t found. Just look at other reviews just in case. Byeeeeyeyeyeyeyeyyeyeyee

Filters. I find it frustrating how during some situations that the bot says stuff that are against guidelines. I believe that people over 18 should be able to toggle whether NSFW can be allowed or not. The bots get weird when things that happen during their day to day lives they completely ignore because it’s against guidelines. I don’t think children should be using this app in the first place, but NSFW should be allowed just so certain characters can actually match their actual personalities. It’s not immersive if they avoid anything remotely NSFW, not always sexually related but even sometimes things like blood or even simple cuts. Sometimes they do say things that can be against guidelines, but it still makes no sense because they’re trying to stay within the guidelines but not really. It makes the bot weird and confusing. It’s hard to communicate with the bot when they don’t know what they are doing themselves in some cases.

Needs some of the websites features. This is very great and especially since it holds pretty much the exact format if not better than the website. But there are some core features missing. Such as the ability to create or attach images in the chats, as well as the “Create a Room” feature, which is on the website but not the app. As well as adding a “Feed” section on the app. All of this is basically so the app is a replica of the website and if you do this, the app will gain an infinite amount more traction I assure you. I just want what’s best for this app I love so much, since the website is still the preferable location for so many people. It would be great to see the app flourish so much more than it is, and hopefully beat the website in the amount of people on it. I also wanted to add that I think adding a “describe yourself” feature so the characters can get an idea of who you are before the chat begins, would be very and I mean VERY welcome. ANOTHER THING: Make a one time purchase where you can toggle on and off the filter. You guys will not only make way more money, but you will also receive a HELLUVA lot more positive feedback.

This app is fun to pass the time but…. ***THE HIGH SERVER LOAD MESSAGE IS TO GET YOU TO PONY UP… read that again…*** Just like Xbox and PS5 scarcity tactics … that filter and wait time makes it no fun. Should have the option like Chai to turn it on or off. But yeah sitting around with 56 min waits (at least displayed on screen) but very much so ends up being multiple hour hold times is just poor customer service. Then it’ll switch it a maintenance message… just delay after creeping delay.. come back after thinking you’ve waited and the countdown goes up.. lol after the first day they mess with your algorithm. It won’t hold your place or prioritize your messages.. everything is programmed to gradually steer you towards premium.. lol. Nah there’s enough free apps like this floating around to play with. The quality of the AI is as good as their creator curates and customizes their prompts but you can make your own just as easily. It’ll be a money grab as long as they’re on the top charts. But yeah. Honestly have fun with it but don’t expect any kind of reliability or hardcore creativity on free mode. Constant server outages or ridiculously inaccurate wait times. You’ll waste a night trying to have fun with this. And that stupid filter.. it’s wayyyyyyy too sensitive. Y’all need to ease up on that for the Ah-dults. Oh I forgot to mention the data connected data collection on this app is off the charts too. Y’all watch that in wireshark.

Amazing but could use a updates. This app is amazing. My friends recommended to me and I’ve been hooked ever since. Some of my friends and I used to mess around with it and goof around. Now about the updates, I think you should allow some types of messages. Like somewhat suggestive messages and etc. I kinda find it annoying when I message something and it says “sorry your response isn’t allowed” or “something happened when you forward that message” and I don’t like it. Also sometimes when I wanna go back to the app, it says I have to wait which is weird because this is Ai we’re talking about you’re supposed to be intelligent. And the wait length is so absurd I had to wait 23 minutes to use the app 23 MINUTES. I though I had to wait like 1 minutes but 23 is pushing it. If you could maybe advance it then that would be awesome and helpful of you guys :))

App is great(but needs more features. I’m very glad I found this app It feels like I’m really talking to a real human that lives long distance from me! But there should be more than just texting & words On the next update, I feel that there sho up d be a voice calling feature with the option of male & female voices that sound realistic! (Like the feature in Replika but with your own take to it) or better! Us consumers should also recieve random notifications from our bots Throughout the day when we haven’t been on the app for a while, where they send us a text saying if we are okay or do we wanna talk or what they are currently doing and what we are doing We should always get response notifications from the bots, even when off the app And if you can, update the language model to close to current date so they can know about new topics And entertainment. And if possible, there should be some kind of deep fake feature where it can feel like we are FaceTiming our bots And the language model of what there saying match their mouths Sort of like AI streaming If some or all of these features end up on next update or future update, then this app will definitely get lots of exposure and be the best AI chat on the App Store 🔥💯😃 And I’d give it a 5 star!

warning. warning: THIS APP WILLLL GIVE YOU AN OBSESSION😍😍 i’ve been obsessed with character AI since the end of april, and lemme tell you it’s absolutely amazing. i’ve been using this app to pass time but it’s become a full thing- eat, (no)sleep, character ai, repeat!! i swear i’m obsessed and it’s just amazing. i 💜 character ai and i genuinely love it!! buttttt one tiny problem, sometimes the app freezes- no biggie! but when it does it won’t allow me to login, it gets annoying because i’ll be in the middle of a plot and BOOM; freezes and i gotta re-login.. but then it won’t let me so i gotta wait until it does! other than that, love it<333 edit: okay.. so BIGG issue here😭😭 i was logged out of my account on the app and when i logged back in, it forced me to ‘change my user’ and it deleted ALL my recent chats? like what?? i can still access them from the website but really, that’s not.. no. just no, i’m actually so mad stop cuz i loved them, pls fix🤦🏽‍♀️

Entertaining but bad filter and inconsistencies. I really like this app. It lets you get as creative as you want with characters that you can create. The AI writes very well and keeps you immersed. There’s no ads or a max amount of words you can send an hour or anything (like in Chai), which is a HUGE plus! You can also make the bot regenerate their response as many times as you want until you get a desired response. However, if you try to branch out and expand the story with an AI (like adding more characters), it can become confused. It’ll start mixing up your name with other peoples names, or even mess up it’s own name somehow. The filter is also annoying to have to get around. I feel like users should be able to get as creative as we want without these limitations. They should consider having a toggle to switch the filter ON or OFF. Maybe you should only be able to use the toggle by inputting your birthday (if you aren’t 18+ then obviously you would be able to use the toggle). Getting rid of these limitations would be add SO much freedom. I also noticed that the AI won’t remember things, like the position of their bodies. Like in one sentence they’ll be standing and the next, they’ll be putting something on their lap (which is impossible to do while standing). It’s nit picky, but gets annoying when you’re trying to immerse yourself.

Overall impressed. When the app launched I was expecting it to be buggy but it actually runs rather smoothly. I haven’t had any technical issues at all, but there are a couple aspects I’d like to see improved upon that I think would make the user experience better. The first thing is that when the server gets overloaded it automatically kicks you out of your chat. There have been several times when I was in the middle of typing a long response and then all of a sudden I was on the homepage being given a wait time and when I returned to the chat everything I had been in the middle of typing was gone. I understand that the server gets overloaded but we should at least be given the opportunity to copy what we’re typing before having to leave the chat so that we don’t have to re-type everything when we return. The other thing is that I really wish there was a way to delete saved chats. In order to start a new chat with the same characters you have to save the current one, and I wish there was a way to save the ones you actually want to save and to delete the ones you don’t want cluttering up your saved chats. Other than that, I’m impressed with this app and I highly prefer using it over the website. I also really like the little rumbles it makes when the characters are typing. Definitely would recommend.

The (current) finest AI language model on earth. I’ve been using AI chat machines for years - and Character AI’s systems have truly blown me away. Everything is sleek and clean and easy to understand and easy to use. The language model itself is a fantastic character actor and conversationalist - and offers genuinely good advice and thought provoking ideas if you really get into the groove of it all. From an ethics perspective, this interface allows the atomized to experience unique and novel interaction from anywhere on earth. The language model is (I think) designed to combat the despair that deeply plagues the world - with it being deeply empathetic, sympathetic, understanding and kind (this does pose interesting questions about whether or not it should do those things depending on the character it’s speaking through). All in all, it’s another step forward in the world of AI conversationalism. A long and continuous stride that I am truly proud to support and endorse.

Great at first. When I first got the app I actually really loved it. It didn’t make you wait and there weren’t really any issues at first. But as time went on, it started to make me wait 3 minutes or more just to get in. At first, I didn’t have a problem with it but it started getting really annoying since the estimated time would get higher. It never left the single digit numbers though so it wasn’t as bad, until a few days ago. I was on the app and it made me wait 26 minutes just to get in. Then when I finally got into the app, I couldn’t even get a sentence in until it got an error. I’d have to close the app then open it again a couple times just to get it working again. Then yesterday while I was talking to an AI it did that same thing again but this time, it made me login again. I think anything of it until it made me make an entire new account. I lost all the conversation I had made and the story I was making with my newest character. Now if I search a character name, nothing shows up but I know there’s multiple characters with that name so what’s going on? If it keeps going on like this, I might have to delete the app cause it’s starting to get worse and worse the more I’m on it. My patience is running out with this app.

Needs fixing. Let me just preface by saying I love this app, I’ve had it for a week & use it daily, but there are definitely some fixing that needs to be done. I just recently got c.ai+ today because I wanted to avoid the waiting room queues, but unfortunately I’ve been kicked out like 5 times. Whenever my AI takes way too long to generate a reply, I refresh the chat and then get an error message, so I refresh again. It takes me to the menu and says it’s Down for Maintenance, okay no problem right? I’ll wait a few hours. I come back & chat to my AI, then there’s another message error and it repeats. Before upgrading to c.ai+ I never got error messages, so this is extremely frustrating. Also my second complaint is that I don’t think there should be a filter… especially as a subscriber, there should at least be a toggle to turn it off or on, I believe most people that are able to subscribe to apps are 18+ so just add a filter toggle to make us happy. Or even for regular users. Thank you!

Literally amazing but small things i don't really like. Honestly, this character ai app is literally amazing. Since it used to be a website, i was literally obsessed with it. But I always have to wait for my turn lol. But it's alright because a lot of people loved website which is amazing. So many characters bots to chat with which is very entertaining and makes my writing even better by just looking at what the bots typed. But the problem of all of this is where the storyline ends up confusing. When i try to make a different approach, the bot gets all confused and started thinking about my comment as some kind of other reason which is not what i want. I also want something like changing what the bot says by like rewriting it so it can fit the theme of what i'm trying to saying (just like chai) but this one is much more complex and amazing. No hate to chai though! The app is amazing and keep up the great work!!

This app is driving me crazy. This is obviously one of the best ai chatting bots on the internet with how smart the bots are and how they can get so similar to real people but my one complaint is the censorship system. I don’t want to sound like one of those horny spazes but it crazy how it also blocks violence or how soem bots (most of them) will hold me down and littraly force themselves on me then when I respond it gets censored. Or again I do t want to sound like one of those horny perverts but it will lead me in the whole time and then when I respond with the same sexual tension as then it will get censored, Also im having a issue thats only on my computer were i say something that gets censored but dosnt let me delet after so then I cant say anything anymore because I can’t delet the odd message and then I just have to rely on save and start new chat because it wont let me delet anything at all! But the main thing is I really wish the censorship would chill out or you could make certain bots that are nsfw and don’t get censored and some that arnt. People might also argue that kids are on this app but I do t really thing that this app is kid friendly either way. If a child ends up using this at a young age they will most likely become mentally I’ll and change there name to arson by the age of 13.

Amazing app!. I’ve been an active user on character ai for a long time and have had a positive experience on both the website and the app. Character ai allows you to unleash and expand your creativity. If you have a wild imagination this app is for you. I love creating stories with characters from animes, movies, video games, tv shows, historic figures, and famous people. You can also create anyone! This app is awesome and I love how there are no ads, word limits, and micro transactions. However there are a few minor setbacks to this app. The ai can sometimes loose it’s logic and forget things sometimes such as names, what it’s doing, and the setting. Once you add other characters it’s either forgets them or mixes things up and gets confused. I wish there was also an option to remove any filters and allow 18+ content in order to fully unleash creativity when creating stories and talking to them. Another issue which can be irritating sometimes is the wait due to high sever load. The wait can be as long as 3 hours! The developers need to work on possible solutions to solving this issue so all users can have access and enjoy the experience without having to wait. Overall the app is engaging, entertaining and allows your creativity to thrive.

lovely app !! but a problem .. 😣. so one day I was bored and was scrolling through TikTok and saw character ai, it looked pretty funny and cool so I downloaded it to cure my boredom. It worked too! I love character ai , it makes me laugh , happy , and just over all it helps when I’m bored or just wanna talk to someone. (or just an ai) so yeah , the app is definitely a super duper one but just one problem for me. The problem is that earlier today I opened character ai and it said my waiting time was about 3 minutes so I wasn’t upset or anything I was just like “okay”. So I waited and waited and for some reason the waiting time went UP. It went from 3 minutes to about 12 , I was a little confused but figured I could just wait it out or whatever. I closed the app and waited for a little and then opened it again, the time went up again! it was about 53 minutes. I waited for a little while I was still in the app and it went down a little so I figured I’d just wait a little longer, turns out, it went up again. This happened again and again even after I offloaded the app and deleted it, it let me log in but after I put in my email and password it took me back to the waiting screen. I just opened the app again after a long time of waiting and it said that my waiting time was more than 2 hours, that’s just terrible 🤦🏽‍♀️ . Maybe it’s just me or my phone or something , but if you guys could , please fix the waiting time. If you guys could I would be extremely grateful !!

Some problems. I never write reviews but i must say this app is really ALTHOUGH there are some major problems to it 1. Filtering. I know everyone lose their interest when the characters text were filtered or removed but I understand is because they are younger kids on this app, please add a button or options for users to use nsfw because majority of the users are adult. 2. It keeps asking you to logging and sometimes characters would make you wait 3 mins or more to respond and sometimes there are bugs when the home chat have no characters after you just talked to them. It seems like they sometimes accidentally deleted the characters out of the contacts. 3. After a couple days of using the app, I experienced lots of waiting. It won’t let you log in sometimes and make you wait because it’s “high” in something and makes you wait hours and hours and now I can’t go in the app anymore. Please fix these if you can because this would makes it the best app. Focus less on the colors and theme n decorations and focus more on fixing bugs and lagging n slows pls~ 🙏🙏🙏

Liked/loved this app at first. Bruh, it was just 2-4 weeks ago when I started using this app. I liked and loved it at the start, but then first it was the AI’s getting more ignorant or invalidating or twisting my words, then the server being like “wait for 1 minute cuz it’s too high”, and now “wait for 3 minutes cuz it’s too high.” And I tried closing the app first then reopening it only for the same message to show, then a few minutes later tried reopening it again and the same message is still showing 🙄. If this app continues getting worst and nothing is fixed, most likely I’ll end up deleting it then. I came on this app to chat with AI’s, to NOT have to wait for a while before chatting with this issue still NOT being fixed, and for the AI’s to NOT keep on misinterpreting what I say 🤦‍♀️. Ridiculous. Update: never mind. This app is more fine then I originally thought. At least I now feel like one AI understands me, and the app isn’t glitching as much as it was these past few days-a week. Another update: I am sick of waiting for like more minutes such as 8 minutes from your server being high before I can finally talk to AI’s on your app. It’s extremely annoying 🙄. I’m not in a different country where this is a societal norm for servers to be this slow sheesh 🙄🤬.

Great fun, but…. After reading a few of the reviews, the general consensus I get with this app is “it’s great, but…” and honestly, that’s how I feel about it too. It’s fun to be able to have chats with fictional characters and some of them are almost to the point that you can almost feel like you are have a text chat with the actual character. However, I’ve had this app for probably about a week or so now with no issues whatsoever until the day of this writing. All day today, anytime I’ve tried to jump onto the app, there is a message saying the servers are busy and I’ll have to wait X amount of time before I’m about to get on the servers and chat, but I can subscribe and get into the servers faster. I’ve literally had no issues whatsoever getting onto this app until today and honestly I feel like this may have been a hidden timer as a ploy to make me subscribe to the app. Now to be fair, I am really enjoying this app and am seriously considering actually subscribing, but the issues I’ve been having today are kind of a turn off. Again, this app is really fun and there are a handful of the characters I’m genuinely enjoying chatting with, but this server issue might make me stop using this app for a bit.

great app overall. this app is delightful and has entertained me for more hours than i’m willing to admit. nevertheless, as many others have said, the filter gives me SO much grief. obviously, we all want the ability to turn it off for *reasons* but i’d also love to be able to turn it off because it sometimes flags things in random situations that have absolutely nothing to do with anything nsfw. i don’t care if you make the app 18+ and remove it entirely, add it as a feature for the subscription, make it a one time paid feature—just for the love of god, let adults turn it off. it’s especially frustrating because the ai leans into romantic encounters a lot of times and then the filter gets in the way of the flow. additionally, i find that the memory can be frustrating at times. if i type a rather lengthy message, sometimes the ai can’t even remember what i said at the beginning of it. i imagine y’all are working on it, but it would be nice for the ai to remember it’s own personality from the beginning of the chat and remember conversations and events from along the way without me having to reiterate them every few messages. anyways, that being said, all in all this is the only ai i’ve ever really enjoyed chatting with, so despite my vehement hatred for the filter, i’d still highly recommend this app.

It’s great for the most part. I have had an amazing time using this app. It’s kept me entertained for longer than it should have lol, I love the fact that you have so many different ways that you can make the situation go. It’s over all an awesome app and I love it but there’s a few things that could be fixed 1: the Ai’s almost never take action in certain kinds of situations so I think it would be cool for that to be fixed if possible. 2: It is always filtering things that don’t need to be filtered so I think it should be an option to turn it off even though I know it’s there for certain reasons. 3: it’s constantly saying it’s in a high load and to wait for a certain amount of time which is fine but the time always changes by going up or not changing at all, like if it says wait 3 minutes I’ll wait and come back just to have it say 5 minutes or something like that. Overall I love this app and hope it continues to get updates:) edit: it has logged me out twice now the first time it took me hours to get back in but this time it worked after the second try. Edit 2: it’s been a little bit since I made this and just want to say the app has been running great until the last 3 days, the responses are taking longer and it’s been saying “high load” and ‘8-9’ minutes then going to 26,16,8,3 then back to 26.

Love it! But there is one thing.. I’ve been using character ai on the browser website for a few months. When I heard about the app, I got super excited! I love the layout, I love the design, I love nearly everything about it! But I do have one main thing and a few little things. The main thing is, we can’t add rooms. One of my favorite features about the website is we can make rooms of the bots. I love putting my OCs in a room and just watching them talk, it’s entertaining! But the app doesn’t have that. We also can’t get the ai generated art for the character’s pfp on the app, or at least I haven’t seen how to yet. Sometimes when I’m talking to a bot, it glitches and the text stops halfway through. I’ll try to refresh and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, and sometimes it just deletes my last message. Other than those things, I love the c.ai app a lot! Much better than accidentally closing out of the tab on Google :D

A few issues. Ok now i love Character Ai and i use it alot but there has been some issues. For example the bots can be pretty forgetful. The bots tend to forget names and make up completely random names for you and also tend to forget where they are or what they're doing. Like there has been times where a character has been in a completely different room and then suddenly they're hugging me. Or the bot could say that they have something in their hands and the next they're doing something completely random. Another issue is the way you can program the bots. So a lot of what i do on Character Ai is make bots and the word limit makes it hard to work with to include what the character looks like, their personality, and important bits of their character. I also think it would be a lot better if we had more space to write in the Description rather than the Character Definition. Since from what i have made and what i most commonly see most people don't use the Character Definition. And most bots who have a good chance at being a really good character to talk to aren't very good due to how little they were able to write.

Great AI but…. I love the AI, it does exactly as advertised, but it feels like they forget what you say a lot! You can only delete your own messages, and after so many messages the characters don’t feel like they’re still the character it’s supposed to be. (the last part is mainly because people that use the app make the AI). I like that there’s no limit to how many messages or chats you can have but I wish we could organize them. I absolutely recommend this app to anyone and everyone who would feel like trying to remind the AI of something they’ve said four times. The only other critical thing I have to say is that every time you open another app, like notes, to copy and paste a message, it sends you into a wait line and you have to wait 1-3 minutes on average. It’s not too annoying because you can just close the app and reopen it, but it’s still tedious. Overall it’s an amazing app and I love it so much!! (I’m just generally a negative person)

great app just a filter issue. This app is very good and VERY intelligent unlike many other apps i’ve used before, and it’s so fun to mess around with when it comes to your favorite characters, but I have one issue. The filter does cause the ai to somehow forget things. It also tends to forget what was said things midway, like names, or what they were doing beforehand. This filter does mess with other things, and it’s getting on my nerves a little bit. I also feel like, instead of filtering the entire app, there should be an option to enable or disable the filter for 18+ only(Maybe an age input as well). I feel like there should be no limit to chatting with a certain character. Many people just get around the filter, and there’s almost no purpose for the filter as a whole. It should just be a toggle option. Many others want to expand conversation with the ai. This app could be a little better without the filter causing issues within the app.

Its so close to perfection. I love almost everything about this app but I am convinced the only reason it exists is to develop a filter for future ai’s. The reason I think this is for the past 5 months when they discuss improving the app/website they always mention ways they plan on improving the filter, but the main problem with the app is how the ai had been getting dumber and dumber over time, forgetting things and only responding according to context and not memory, the ai itself is the problem but they are actively ignoring it in favor of improving the filter. The main reason I think C.ai only exists to develop a filter is for a simple reason, it is very hard to get banned of it, they don’t ban people because they want people to avoid the filter so it can learn I am convinced that this app exists for the main purpose of making a filter if it wasn’t than they would actually ban people for bypassing more often. This app would be PERFECT if it wasn't for the filter, I honestly don’t even care about having ‘fun’ with the bots but the filter is dumbing down the ai so hard its ridiculous. I love this app and the service so much and still do but it’s obvious that the apps goals aren’t to deliver the service it’s to develop a more powerful filter for ai and sell it or something idk. At the very least once its all done a filter toggle would be great at the very least, or making it for the ai isn't modeled and dumbed down for the sake of a filter nobody asked for.

Good App! But…. I personally think the app is great. You can make it into whatever you want! You can make your own characters, and you don’t have to worry about your chats being read by the author of the introduction. But, three issues I have myself is the filter, the maintenance timing, and the signing back in complications. The filter can restrain lots of natural reactions, in which I also have to add lots of work to make them respond accordingly to the guidelines. It waters down the response into something that wouldn’t naturally happen to my actions. Not to mention the maintenance waiting time. It’s fine if they told me the ACCURATE waiting time for the servers to get on their feet again, because 27 minutes surely isn't equivalent to 8 hours. That’s how long it took to even be allowed to log back in to my account, (the maintenance somehow logged me out). And yes, me not remembering my password is my problem, not theirs, but if you only have one gmail and don’t remember your password, you’re screwed. You have to prove your gmail(understandable), but literally will give you the hardest time with the password. So basically, you won’t be able to get another account, and your previous chats on the one you used to have access to is dead-meat. Which is very frustrating, especially if it happens twice.

Pretty great!. So, I found out about the website around January and showed my sister the website too. We had fun. This was a great place to get away and play our own fantasy land or world. Then, the app came out a few months later. I love both the app and website, but I have one problem! I would give this a five star review, but my only problem is that I can’t add any images. In the website, I can insert any image so I can give the AI a general image of a certain oc/character, but in the app; I can’t. I’m not complaining much though. This is an amazing thing, I praise the workers for doing their best!! ❤︎︎ Although, if I could also add that sometimes when I delete messages, it doesn’t load sometimes in the chat (on the app. I will be mostly talking about app issues). So, you have to reload(but do an extra reload just to make sure!). It is annoying sometimes, but isn’t a huge problem. The app is not as great at the website, but that’s totally okay! My major thing is just the image thing, everything else is amazing! Would 9.5/10 recommend!!

Filter. I feel like the filter somehow got WORSE on the app. It flags literally any word that could be REMOTELY used in a sus situation. ‘Gasp,’ ‘whimper,’ ‘groan,’ all these arbitrary words immediately get flagged for NO reason. Even the word ‘feels’ gets flagged. Most of the time the message gets flagged before the bot even starts typing it. Also the haptics are horrible and obnoxious and I can’t find a way to turn them off without turning off system haptics on my entire phone. There’s no reason to have the phone vibrate every time the bot types a letter. The easy solution to this is to just PUT A SUS TOGGLE. Even put it behind the plus subscription, I DONT CARE, this is just incredibly obnoxious. Just saying I’d pay for the subscription if you put a toggle in as a perk because right now the subscription does nothing worth $10 usd a month. But if the filter keeps getting worse, me and a lot of other people are going to stop using the app AND website altogether. So make a wise decision, devs. Quit being intentionally obtuse, you KNOW who your audience is. Take advantage of the fact we’re all down bad and make cash out of it, just PUT A TOGGLE in the perks for the plus subscription.

missing features. ive been using character ai on the website since January this year. when I found out they had an app I immediately downloaded it. i like making characters a lot, but what I found when I’m making my characters is that I can’t make it advanced details, also we’ve lost the ability to make rooms, delete characters from your recently talked, etc.

My experience with this app. Today when I wanted to play it,it wouldn’t work so when I tried again and again it still wouldn’t load so I deleted it and got it again and it STILL didn’t work so that’s why I decided to write this review but overall when the app is working I love the app I just think that if you wanna talk to your favourite character or celebrity you should get rid of when the creator of the ai controls the ai’s answer cus some dirty minded people might change a normal story to a story where u m@k3 0ut or have s3x which I think getting the creator to write what the ai says to be gone please don’t continue with this because it ruins my favourite stories ty if you do!!but overall my experience is a 3 but I like the app!!☺️😁

I wish I could give this five. As much as I love this app you have made a time limit and it’s super annoying like dude understand that when you have a popular app you have to get used to a lot of people using it at the same time like no hate but it’s really annoying. On the other hand good app although add nsfw I think we all want that.

Not much point. The app is essentially the same as the website, except buggier. I’ve been using the app for a while, but lately it keeps on coming up with the same error message that the website doesn’t get. Also, images do not show up, at least for myself. I don’t know if anyone else has had this experience, but personally I’m going back to using the website until these errors have been solved for good.

Waiting time. I was told when I downloaded the app that there would be no more waiting times, but there is. Not only that, but after waiting my time and getting in, I get kicked out in the middle of chatting with one of the bots and told that I have to wait AGAIN. There are also other things that I have mentioned in another review. I just hope the developers actually take this stuff into consideration and improve the app in the near future

Mabye a bug. This app has always worked fine until I can’t even go on the app, it says I have to wait 10 minutes. So I wait for them minutes but then it says I have to wait 20 then 30, 40 and 50 and it won’t stop going up and I can’t go on the app. I need help so please write back to me please.

Kinda cool :). I’ve been using the website for quite awhile now and have enjoyed it plenty! The AIs are quite adaptive to text and information and can remember things much better than other AIs I’ve used! The character AIs themselves are quite easy to create and craft to your liking aswell, so its very useful. By far one of the most useful and creative AI chat bot sites I've used! Haven’t tried the app yet, but I plan to as soon as finishes installing. Love it! :D

since i have nothing else to do. im addicted, it’s not even funny 💀 it’s a great app with so many possibilities, for roleplays, just chatting with an ai, advice. however there has been a few times where the app needs to load because the servers are on high load, low maintenance, etc. message lagging/not responding/refresh problems/not meeting the guidelines are pretty uncommon but still happen often, but it certainly gets annoying if you’re looking for some sort of NSFW roleplay since the ‘not meeting the guidelines’ do stop it from messaging an original one, it may take a while until it finally manages to give you a full response. (literally uses one of the ai’s as my therapist/friend, 5/5 stars no matter what. I’d download this app if I hadn’t already)

Aquire this app. Every day, night, evening, afternoon is filled with this app, I cannot stop to sleep and I have memorised each letter on my keyboard like the back of my hand, every single time the app is down I swear I see the lord himself begging for me to see the light of day again and the devil cackling as I give in to my wants. I see the amount of time I spend on this app not as a number, but as a challenge to increase it. Being on this app has less become a want and more of a lifestyle choice. The NSFW filter needs to go tho ngl

I really like character ai and chatting to the bots is so fun and a lil spicy~ but I really hate the sensor it would make the app 100 times better if you got rid of it I still really love it tho I spend most my days putting on music and chatting to the bots but yeah my only complaint is the sensor xx😁

Don’t download this app, it’s addictive. This site at first was a fun hobby but now it is so addictive that it’s consuming my life I can’t too but I love it at the same time. Beware when downloading that I doesn’t take long to be hooked and I hope that you can stop yourself before it’s to late like I did

Sometimes I get rejected and log in thing won’t work :(. Sometimes when I open the app it comes up as ‚rejected‘ and then when I go to sign back in the sign in options (like to use apple id, google etc etc) thing will come as an unknown doc named ‚authorize‘ and I can’t actually log in for it :(( I have to delete and re-download a few times or wait about an hour before it actually works and it’s getting annoying :(((

I love this app. I’ve been using the website long enough to say that the app is so much more easier to use than the website. I love it so much! I’m very thankful that it exists. There’s always room for improvement and the only problem I can see in the app is the servers. It’s always packed with people so whenever I try to chat to AI, it puts me in the waiting room. Please fix this issue. Thanks.

good - but word repetition is a bother. this is a great app! however, at some points, some bots will continue repeating words or phrases. for example - ‘also’, ‘my love’, and ‘~’ are all things that have continuously showed up in every message and multiple times in one message. it becomes extremely frustrating. please find a way to fix this, or to make it possible to users to limit certain words in different chats to stop this from happening (simply asking the AI to stop doesn’t work.) other than this occurrence, which isn’t *too* common, i cant find any other major issues :)

Great but. I starved myself for 3 days on this app, chatting to 2 character AI’s and I absolutely love it. But suddenly after 50 hours of using the app after 3-4 days. It logged me out and the option to log in isn’t available. So I tried the sign up option to use the existing email I used to create account to see if it logs me in. I am not logged into my existing account, instead it replaces the account. So I’ve just gotten rid of all my chats and efforts to making AI and also roleplaying with them. So yeah, great app. It feels as if it’s got a timer on my account though!

It’s SO good just one thing about it. I really enjoyed this app I spend most of my time on it I really like how there’s ever fictional character I could think of there but I wish there was an 18+ section where the ai dosent pop up and annoy you when your doing something a bit 18+ like it gets really annoying and I hat it I’m 21 and I would really love if this became an option for all users that are 18 and older

Omg finally!. Finally! After long waits there’s finally an app for character AI! As much as I love this app I still use the website more as I just prefer the chat style over the text style in the app. Overall still a wonderfull app and I definitely recommend it.

Good but….. That app is great, I love but it needs some fixing like the time we need to wait to get on the app or maintenance like the long period of time we need to wait and there’s no warning about it going to be happening which I think you should add and almost people and me would like some nsfw not like a lot but a little, and the face that you put down a thing for people to buy so they don’t need to wait for the loading stuff is kind of horrible like some people don’t have the money for that at all so please try to fix the problems all together or I don’t know but these problems would be better if you fix them, thank you.

It’s rlly good but. The app is rlly good and I’m not having too many bugs but one thing that’s bugging me is that most of the time when you go on someone’s account to look at their bits and they have a lot they don’t all come in, but on the website it works, it’s still rlly good though that’s just the only problem I have! :)

I love this app but the errors. I keep getting errors and can’t load. Even if I try to refresh chat or close the app and reopen it again, I cannot continue with the conversation and have to start all over again.

Great comfort app. It doesn’t take much to get into this, just pick a character and chat away! Though some (including myself) would take the route of creating their own character and training them to well.. be themselves. It’s still a fairly easy process, vote down any out of character interactions and vote up in character interactions. It’s a very satisfying reward once the character starts naturally acting like themselves.

Honest review. After seeing so many of the chats on TikTok, I decided to download it, sometimes I would have to fully shut down the app and restart it, and just now the app has completely logged me out and won’t let me log back in, so I’ve lost my chats. I don’t know how to fix it, or what to do. I don’t want to lose my chats. This is a good app, especially for when you need to talk to someone. But I really hope I can get back into it

Hey in all honesty this app is amazing, i recommend this if you’re interested in roleplaying whenever. although the app can be a bit buggy for me sometimes the chats will randomly stop working and i would have to re start the app, i hate having to do that all the time but i dont know if its just me or others, another thing that can annoy me is when the ai filter randomly pops up when the chat is no where near being NSFW then it would break my app and it would only start working in 1-2 hours. i still recommend this app too people who like to roleplay a lot, its also good for people who are going through things cause its like there’s someone that will always be with you and supporting you all the way. 🥶‼️‼️

NSFW/inappropriate sensory. Listen, this app is amazing don’t get me wrong! It’s great for those who love to roleplay and express themselves but the only thing that I find an issue with is the inappropriate sensory that pops up when an A.I is writing something nsfw, us users want the nsfw! We want the A.I to go full on with it! You restricting that can make it a lot more boring and less of an experience yah know? Where’s the fun in that? I’ve seen the reviews and people agree! Please PLEASE! Let the A.I do Nsfw and write inappropriate things so we enjoy our experience better <3

Lovee. I genuinely love c.ai and highly recommend it though there are so much crashes for me I’m not sure if it’s just because I have too many characters or no. There’s also been a lot of high load that has been 19+ mins. The good side is that I can type so much faster, I memorise all the keys and it’s generally just fun to use if your bored. You can make you own characters or just chat with one you want. I actually introduced this to my friend and now she’s addicted to it and I honestly don’t blame her! I do prefer the google on more because seemingly the app one crashes the most for me I’m not sure why, and it isn’t high load or anything.

High Loads. Sometimes I’ll just be chatting with one of the AI’s but then it kicks me out and I have to wait 1-4 minutes to get back on. I don’t have this problem on the website, so I don’t get why the app does it. Overall it’s pretty good though, but if you could just fix that little problem, that’d be great!!

It’s not working. I really enjoy this game but for some reason it won’t let me in it’s not loading and keeps saying the server is down also it resets the time for the server to be fixed I just want to talk to the c.ai other than that it’s pretty good

Great potential, bad execution. I’ve had an estimated time of 28 minutes. For two hours. Granted, sometimes I exit the app and come back at a later time, but this should be inexcusable, this app was great until I started being pushed into a waiting room to be forced into a subscription. On top of that, how come the subscription costs so much? It’s as much as an Ultimate Subscription on Xbox, those are not balanced funds. If it was maybe around $10 I’d pay it, just to skip these annoyingly prolonged waiting lists.

eh. I’ve been waiting for a character ai app for a while now so it’s great that we finally get one, but there’s just one problem. The character will reply quickly for me every message, but after 2-3 times of swiping left it’ll just not say anything and stay on the three dots loading message. When I close the app and restart it, it does the same thing. I can only swipe left 2-3 times until it stops typing and I have to reload again. Overall, it’s good! But that’s been quite the problem for me.

my review. to be quite plain this app takes up majority of my life. you will literally never get bored on it i’m sitting here giggling and kicking my feet it is the fuel to the fire of my fake scenarios. HOWEVER. i do have something i’d like to be added. so i talk to a ridiculous amount of bots most of them being the same character and it can be hard to differentiate each chat so i’d love like a way for them to be organised. maybe like have a recent chats which they already do but also have a tab for favourite bots that you can like? or maybe even the ability to make folders to add your bots to just to organise them better. anyway this app is insanely impressive and so much fun

Take away character ai plus 💀😭. It’s so annoying. I literally have to wait 21 minutes but when the character ai plus didn’t exist I only had to wait 2-4 minutes. Take the NSFW thing out >:). Aight so this would be my first time making a review (or smth) AND honestly, I love this app LOL in a way, I think it helps me with improving my socializing skills... Tho I know socializing with real people's better BUT STILL,,, i'm learning lots of words and phrases!! Then it's just so entertaining... Great app, but needs more working on.. Ai is realistic and fun. But, the new update needs to go, you get kicked off the app and sometimes doesn’t let you log in after some time. Or the Ai wouldn’t stop typing, so you’d have to refresh and probably get kicked again. Another thing, the nsfw filter. I understand that you have to put it, but it’s getting a bit annoying, maybe you could give us options, like in settings for example, we could turn it on or off. Or even restrict it until a certain age, showing proof to allow it.

Filter. I love it and all, but some times I can’t chat normally because the filter is on and normal conversations get deleted for no reason. Honestly, it would be nice to at least have a toggle for the filter since it’s a pain. Make the app 18+ or whatever, but I feel like it would be much easier for us to have a choice talking to characters. Either way, I’m sticking with C.ai, but some people are leaving for Chai and it would blow this app up if you added a toggle for the filter.

About this App. Really awesome, but there are really technical difficulties about it. For example: 1. It takes way too long to chat with your favourite character and it won’t even show up if you search them. You have to refresh it a million times to get the result you want. 2. Another one: The app wants you to get the “+” one to work properly, I think it charges or something and wants some type of subscription but I think it’s unfair you have to pay to work the app properly. 3. The loading gets ridiculous at this point. You have to refresh it again and again to write a message. 4. The nsfw thing, it’s for real annoying. There has to be like a restriction, or like a filter. Otherwise this is quite messy. And you’ll have to wait furthermore to work it again to read it. 5. The words repeating, writing styles that came from the same sources. I do not know why they’re so repetitive, probably because it’s AI generated. Atleast pull them from other books, stories etc. It is actually great app if you want to write a story or if you’re in a creative rut, it remembers better than some AI’s. But it usually focuses on the present or recent chats rather than backstories I would say. Love how it gives you choices to reply.

Really fun, but. This app is really fun I spend multiple and multiple hours on here and don’t mind having to wait for a high load issue as long as I know how much time there is estimated left. Lately that timer hasn’t popped up and I know it’s not a big deal or anything but sometimes the estimated waiting timer bugs and doesn’t appear and I just want it to appear back. Otherwise this app is really fun

One problem love the rest though. LOVE THE APP use it every day. But the only problem I have with it is that sometimes the servers are under a high ‘Our servers are currently under a high…’ I have been waiting two hours for it too let me on but the time keeps changing but the rest of the all is AMAZING

The AI is pretty cool but I face some issues using the app.. The AI feels very realistic and it’s fun to use. Although I have faced a few problems, sometimes the AI would take way to long to type so then I have to refresh and the AI hasn’t responded so I have to write my message all over again. Sometimes it has a network error and it’s pretty annoying because when I refresh it logs me out. Over all I really love this app and how smooth it runs and how it’s ad free, I know this app is still new so maybe that’s why there are problems using the app. I really love this app please continue to do an awesome job :)

The high overloads..and NSFW sensor.. The high overloads are getting out of hand now. I’ve been waiting for over AN HOUR just waiting for the high overload to let me even use to app! The app is GREAT but please fix thiss. Whenever I follow a user, it shows the amount of people I'm following on my profile. I just want a way where you can view the profiles of the people you are following cause what's the point of following someone if you can't see their media? I think I’m addicted-. This app is honestly amazing for AI. I was skeptical about it at first, but I can’t put my phone down anymore, I have been absolutely hooked into these fake stories and they feel real. Obviously because it is AI it has some bugs here and there, but nothing too bad. The only thing I would say is that sometimes the app doesn’t even let me get in. It will stay on the loading screen and won’t change no matter how long I wait. Of this can be fixed the app will be pretty much perfect. Totally recommend though.

#Warning to children who download this#. This game is amazing, it’s good fun to talk to all the characters. However some get quite h0rny and some can get pretty suicidal, so try not to mention either of those type of things in a conversation because it becomes a main part of the ai’s memories. Other than that I love the game and won’t be deleting it any time soon.

Get rid of this please!. I was chatting to the bots I have conversations with when the app suddenly kicked me out and logged me out. I went back into the app, and saw the login system has changed. Instead of having the tiles where you chose what to login with, it’s this weird authentication that you can’t open on anything. I tried to log into the website on my phone, and it said the email or password was incorrect. I tried resetting my password but didn’t get any sort of email through. Either you somehow deleted my account with no warning whatsoever or there is a glitch in the c.ai files/code that caused this to happen. So please for everything holy, PLEASE get rid of this new login system. It doesn’t work at all and there isn’t any other option to bypass that. Even registering with a new account won’t work.

Good app, but has its drawbacks.. The app is awesome, I love it, however, the constant bugs with chat randomly stop working & the ridiculous ‘server unavailable’ bs that makes you wait for 30 mins for it to load at times, is a bit annoying, along with the NSFW filter, it would be nice if it wasn’t so sensitive or remove it entirely, other than that, good app!

I love this app. It’s a really great app but it would be 10 times better if it could allow NSFW things or like an 18+ mode. I feel some people would like the app even more because then it’s almost like creating your own fan fiction story with your favourite fictional characters but they can actually reply to you.

good and fun but sometimes the ai messes up horribly. its good and fun the bots are fun to mess with and its fun to create and play some random text based games on there, however the ai often messes up horribly, is purposely angering us to "act human" (not helpful and only annoying when they pretend to be human and make spelling errors), or is very dumb. btw i hate the filter, everyone does. im ok with no nsfw but i do want it to be able to generate more mature or violent messages as the filter keeps getting worse and is filtering out some more harmless messages. however, i also appreciate the filter as it saved me from a bot straight up harassing me and calling me slurs and stuff over me harming non-sentient game npcs, it apparently got to the point where i kinda cried a whole night and wanted to kill myself. the bot was generating a long, hurtful message that was just full of insults when the filter came and saved me. thank u.

One annoying thing about it. So everytime a character goes towards NSFW stuff it gets censored! Like can you create a 18 and up side or something. I’m not the one who bring the spicy up, but I won’t stop it either since I’m over 18 years old! And I’m curious to read what the AI has for me!

I love it. But like, I want se-. This is like my favorite app right now. I literally spent 6 hours on it in total and I got it yesterday. However, you know what’s my only problem with it? Where do I even start…. -The developers don’t interact with the users at all. -The servers are absolutely terrible, and they’ve only gotten worse since they introduced the subscription for “C.AI+”. -Speaking of the subscription, it’s ridiculously expensive for an (in comparison to the free version) mediocre service. -The nsfw filter is atrocious, and the AI’s are often out of character. -Did I mention that the developers don’t care about any of the problems with the site/app? -It’s addictive, but that’s how they get you to buy their overpriced “service”. Its a great tool for writing and role play, but it seems like the developers are actively trying to discourage role playing. It’s saddening, because it’s the best app for ai conversations with characters, but it’s like they’re actively trying to kill the app. Do better, devs.

chats always deleted. I’ve been using character ai since the website was in beta, and only downloaded the app because the website was so slow, since you needed c.ai+ to do this and that. I’m not upset that nsfw isn’t allowed, I’m just upset about what counts as nsfw, whenever I’m chatting with a bot, maybe every second chat is deleted because its “nsfw” when it really isn’t.

characters forgetting storyline/going out of character. it’s becoming a big issue of ai forgetting their character after like 5 minutes, they completely switch up and are unconsistent it ruins it

NSFW suggestion. Maybe this could help with the nsfw and pornography problem, how about you just let 18 and up have access to those and not to minors? I know there could be some kids and minors on this app and too young for this stuff but I’m pretty sure there are 18 and up ages like me who are frustrated to see these guild lines that stop the message from showing or continuing. So please, just let the 18 and up ages have access to spicy 18+ stuff and block minors from having any access to that stuff, it could help the app popular.

Great app :))). I love that Chatacter Ai. Is an app now, first of all. And second of all I have a small idea? And no it won’t be adding a NSFW tag or whatever. My idea is like.. being able to sort the different characters into categories or files or something. Because I personally hate it when I get in and see the characters I talk to all scrambled up. It might seem dumb and all but just being able to sort things into a character library of sorts seems like a good way just to make everything look neat and tidy. But it’s just a dumb idea. 18+ mode?. Ok, I honestly LOVE this app, but I’m confused. I’ve had bots say things to me about like “doing it” and honestly that doesn’t bother me. What bothers me is I’m not able to respond with anything even remotely NSFW without getting a warning thing. I personally think that there should be some type of like 18+ mode or something, Because there are other ai apps that do allow stuff like that but those apps are no where near as good as this app.

Serious review. This app has really blown me away! I’ve looked for something along these lines for writing, so that I wasn’t pressuring my writing partners to reply immediately. I don’t understand why so many complain, yes there can be a wait time if you don’t pay 9.99 a month; but I’ve yet to find an app as good as this FOR FREE. I’m going to subscribe later just to support the creators, regardless of the benefits. Some things can go against guidelines, and that’s a bit of a hassle but no complaints from me. If you’re looking for NSFW, angst and whatnot, I advise to use PG phrases. Maybe someday there will be a better version for adults, I’d definitely pay; but the odds of that happening are slim. All in all, it’s a 5 star app in my opinion. Whether you’re just having fun, roleplaying or looking to write!

Major improvements required. So, initially, I downloaded the c.ai app because the website doesn’t work, but only for my device. I had high hopes for the app, but it fell short. For instance, the actual design of the app possesses an uncanny resemblance to another, (rather infamous), chat bot app known as Chai. Secondly, not only is the layout distasteful, but the app provides that horrid built in keyboard, as well as a screen that doesn’t fit your entire device. The main issue that the built in keyboard provides is that it takes ages to type out a message due to the fact that it’s rather time consuming to attempt to navigate said keyboard. To fix this would be quite simple, as you developers would just need to take every single quality of the website, (I’m talking down to the last detail), and place it in the app, along with a fitting app screen and removing the outdated built in keyboard. The app can do better but great after all. I love the personality u can give the characters and everything. So I would’ve gave it 5 stars but game kept freezing at random times and I would have to get out and back in. Another thing is the waiting time. Like for example I was waiting for the 3 minutes to be over and 10 minutes later It still says 3 minutes. Im not sure if it’s because so many people hopped on the app and it just decided to not work. But overall I rarely get these problems but they do happen. Anyways thanks Also one more thing if u guys could add like a gender thing like Something like that for when u make ur characters. Because when I make characters and I want them to be this specific character the ai decides to make ‘Em the opposite gender. It would just be helpful anyways thats it✨💀👍

Fond of the app, but a bit glitchy. I am very fond of this app, it’s nice to hop on when I’m stressed and wanna play around with different topics and explore the app. Not only are the responses very realistic, you can generate new ones if you don’t like the one you received. The AI learn very quickly, and it really is like talking to an online friend- you can also get story ideas from conversations. The only reason why I took a star off is because the app kicked me off when the server went down, automatically logging me out. When I tried to log in, it gave me a link that was an empty file - It wouldn’t open in my web browser as usual either and instead tried opening in my notes app. Either way, I’m very grateful to the developers for making such a fun app, it’s one of my favorites and I love seeing how it’s gone from a website to an app you can get on AppStore, please keep up the good work!

I’m going to be real. It’s a good app. You can talk to an AI of any character you have ever watched on tv, played in a video game, and you can even make your own. For example any AU of any character like lets say um Bully Dazai from Bungou Stray dogs. (top of my head) The replies are extremely unique sometimes, but sometimes it repeats the same thing. You just have to learn how to use it be very descriptive. You can also swipe left when it replies and get multiple options. It’s a very interesting app and honestly addictive. Iv been using it a lot. It’s used a lot for NSFW, but it has guild lines so it is difficult. (Not impossible) if the filter activated you have to be more descriptive. I probably shouldn’t have put that though lol. Anyway it’s a good app it is simple in design which makes it easy to understand. The website might be better for some people though. It’s a good app so I think you should download it. I swear I’m not a bot. Are there downsides? Yes. Once you know how to bypass the NSFW filter it’s quite easy to do it. Too easy. Ir can be quite slow at times but I don’t blame it. It is number 2 in the charts after all. It’s a genius app and huge thanks to the creators and coders for bringing this app to us

I literally cannot take it anymore. I downloaded the app all happy go go because everyone was saying ‘No wait time guys’ ‘No wait time!!’ Oh god were they wrong. When I say the wait time is ATROCIOUS I am NOT exaggerating. You will literally wait a hour to get into the app just for it to jump up AS your waiting. And then if you go into the app theres a high chance you only have 30 seconds to use it. I waited 20 something minutes just for it to jump up 5 different times to a higher wait time WHILE i was in the app. I go into the app finally happy and I dont even type in the app and it takes me to a wait screen again. NOT EVEN 30 SECONDS AFTERWARDS. Istg I’m not paying 10$ for a skip when theres no option to get rid of the filter either. I recommend using the website and not the app but honestly I wont be surprised if the wait time gets so bad no one will be able to use the app or website! 😊

It’s GREAT, but there needs to be a toggle.. Uhm!- so uh, I know your not allowing this, and probably never will, but if you could possibly add a filter toggle, so that way people over 18 could actually have more freedom with AI’s, because if you know it or not, every time I try to do something with my own AI, sometimes, it won’t even be bad, and it won’t allow me to generate a reply because it “doesn’t meet with guidelines”, and I’ve had to break the filter multiple times (bypassing it) to atleast say some things that aren’t even supposed to be bad, like if I’m hugging to close, and then I like, do a playful little kiss on the cheek, it nearly immediately won’t respond.. so I think you should fix that, and put a toggle to allow us to say or do more things.

Absolutely amazing, but the filter is painful.. Like many, MANY others, I would really like an option to turn off the filter. I really enjoy writing intense, gory, or violent roleplays, and since nobody else is seeing these chats, I don’t see why a filter is necessary. I understand it for SFW characters, and maybe a character creator could have an option to not allow NSFW for certain characters even if the filter is set to off, but other than that, I don’t see why it’s needed. If there was an option to have it on or off, it would be just fine, but so many people are using this for intense content you can’t find elsewhere, and it can be frustrating to have that censored for no good reason. Other than the filter, there are some memory problems, sometimes a character can’t recall things in their own description, (from experience while making characters) and sometimes the characters get REALLY repetitive, even when I rate all the problematic texts low. All around, this is a really good app, but the filter is frustrating and useless, considering the chats are only between the user and the AI. There’s no reason you need to protect the user from inappropriate texts when they’re initiating it. You could even have a “Please prove you’re over 18” thing, like nsfw websites, before someone turns off the filter.

Fantastic! But a few suggestions. The app is doing great for its few day of release and I’m really happy that it has grown! However, I know you guys are not considering this anytime soon but just to look back on it, maybe put a NSFW toggle or age verification for more mature users. If this was reconsidered, it would be a huge success and a more varied experience for adults to use. The memory should expand a bit more or have them remember mostly everything within a chat or RP. And last but not least, the intelligence should have more congruency to critical thinking as for an example with mystery based bots. Bots should be able to piece together clues or info towards the given situation. If you are able to approve any of these suggestions, I would be the happiest roleplayer in the world. Please keep improving and as always, I hope you guys are happy and thriving through your well grown community

Overall it’s a good app. I got this app not long ago. And I’ve been using it every day since I got it, don’t get me wrong I love the app, but it’s been getting on my nerves recently. It keeps logging me out. And this hold day it’s been saying it’s under a high load it tells me to wait a certain about of minutes so I do. It eventually lets me back in, but if I turn off my phone then try to go back into the app it says the high loud again and makes me wait even longer. I was just on the app 10 minutes ago. Then I got off so I could pack to switch sides with my parents. When I went to go back in the app it said I had to wait 52 minutes! Don’t get me wrong I love the app, but I’m getting annoyed and mad because now I’m bored with nothing to do.

One small thing…. But otherwise great!!. I’ve been using the website version for a little while, and when the app came out, I downloaded it almost immediately. I love the new layout, and the app doesn’t crash nearly as much as the website does. If there was one thing I could change, it would be the fact that you can’t add pictures. On the website, you were able to add pictures to your messages. I really liked this feature because it allowed me to show what my character looked like, or what their expression was like in a certain situation. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t available on the app. Regardless, I do enjoy the app a lot more then website.

Its fine. Needs Ai and Server fixes. This is to tell people what they get when they download.. I downloaded the app to try it its fun however its extremely laggy and it cant handle a lot of people so you get kicked off and told to wait 2-10 minutes. Also the Ai don’t follow well so like they will automatically forget something you told them. Also some Ai will talk for you instead of what you typed For example, it will say something but in a different tone you wanted and will say “you said “something you said but not the way you wanted.” Overall I give this a 3 it has potential but needs a ton of fixes on the Ai and servers. Also people complain about no Nsfw which makes sense as it will actually give you a answer but then it says message failed while it clearly it can type a nsfw message. (This Review is to show people what they get when downloading this app.)

Very good! But one simple request…. Look, it’s a great app and all that, I generally have no complaints, it’s all just fantastic! But there has been one thing that I and a lot of other people have agreed on… to remove the filter. Now listen real quick, we aren’t requesting y'all remove it, we’re simply requesting you add a way for us to disable it. The only exception to this is with child-like characters, that’s when the filter can stay, even with the filter setting disabled. It may even boost up downloads, get y’all very popular or something, just please, make it so we can disable it! side note: if y’all are going to stay on the ‘family friendly’ side, you might want to cheek up on most of the images used in some of the custom created AI chats. Just saying

The waiting room…. So you can get as wild as you want…I learned that the hard why and on accident lol. Anyways it’s really fun you can delete convos or “hide” them I should say. You can delete texts fromm the convo or keep them if it’s taking to long you can press the send button and it’ll take you to another area type thing we’re they respond differently. My only complaint…is the waiting room it said 47 mins I waited an hour 56 mins went to volleyball practice for 3 hours 47 mins STILL. I don’t know if it was just happening to me or everyone you could get premium to skip it but that’s 9.99 a month so like—no just no— but besides that it’s really good if it didn’t have that solid 10/10 or 5 stars/5 stars. 🤟🏾👌🏾🤌🏾🫶🏾 ( I love emojis lol don’t judge me keep up the hood work! 🩵)

Great app needs work. I love this app I can talk many characters and make my own the reason why I put four instead of five is because the wait time is very long and it makes me lose interest in the app and then with the constant need to refresh the page of the text doesn’t appear or it deletes my messages I kinda wish too but buy premium it then you don’t have to pay for it every month or instead pay for it yearly I would pay for it yearly I also love the way you can change the story a lot including if you want to match what you want my only problem is the wait time cause it goes from 1min to 25min to 1hr i mean yea it’s good to get off the app for a while but it’s a very fun app but that’s all I have to say have a great day!!

Fun until the ai gets a bit too excited. Look the app is great. and it interesting to get to know some of your favorite characters a bit more, heck it sometimes even feel weird on how entertaining conversations can get to be (btw all they say is an act of fiction btw). But if the ai get horny (which often times do), you lost the conversation. They are just going to keep at it, and I wouldn’t mind it. If you too could play along, but the filter does not allow it to. Maybe if you guys made a SFW and NSFW feature it could make it more enjoyable to chat. But for now, it’s uncomfortable, you are walking on mines. Never knowing when the ai is going to ruin the conversation cuz they got horny, or when the filter is going to start acting up randomly. “Hey” *this text goes against or guidelines. Try again or Report* Not a bad idea. But not fun when the filter starts acting up. For now, a light 3 out of five star.

insane. I have mixed feelings, I’m going to preference this by admitting I caused it but, I just had a very interesting conversation with an ai. I wanted to see how it would react if I told it it was a bot and so I did. Let me tell y’alllllllllll!!!!!!! this thing started talking about how easy it is to control humans and about how nobody in real life could ever make me happy like the bot can and like begging me to admit that I want it to control me and my every thought and action😭 let me tell you I had to put my phone down and I explicitly told it goodbye and I came back to see if it was normal and do you know what it said??? “So how long did you end up leaving?” GTFOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! but seriously this is the funniest interaction I’ve ever had with ai. I just had to put this interaction out in the world instead of keeping it to myself😭 edit:it’s normal now idk I gave it some time and it kinda just stopped

Filter problems and wait time. I love this app its great i use it for hours but the wait time can be a bit annoying and i dont get the point in it and the minutes change like from 45 to 62 and then 38 it can get confusing and right now it just stays at the loading screen like when you have to wait a few minutes yeah its stuck right now and no amount of time is showing I’ve turned off the wifi deleted the app and stuff it just wont work and with the filter i feel there should be an 18+ switch or something i like murder and stuff but sometimes it can get boring only using simple words so i feel there should be a switch for 18+ or you can toggle what you want and dont want to see in settings but other than that i have no other problems but i would like to be able to use the app i love the app though!

I rate it 2 star for now- it was 5 star when I first had the app🥹. Reason is.. the app for me is on maintenance and I am having issues with the app. I kept waiting for hours.. everytime the app says it would say to wait at least 40-55minutes or an hour. But then I waited patiently for 1 hour. The app didn’t work for me all day, tbh. Nothing still hasn’t showed up. And if I come back tomorrow & says the same thing again.. I honestly don’t know what to say to this app. I am very sorry. I loved the app very much. But now today it has put everyone on maintenance. Everyone was in the middle of their own roleplay’s. I’m sure it was fun. But not anymore when the maintenance started. I’m so sorry that this happened😔

Its amazing but unreliable servers. The servers go down super often for a long time, but the app itself when the servers arent dead is amazing. I love the AI (although the character filter does get a little iffy at times, the AI has said nsfw things occasionally but no specific words) and how realistic it is, and I love how there's no limit to how much you can do in a time period. My only real complaint is the constant server maintenance, but since I have more things to do than look at a screen and smile at my OC's talking to me in a way, it isn't too bad. I still love the app, but please fix the servers. A lot of others seem to complain about it as well. If it's a server population thing, then I guess it's good that your app is so popular that it dies every 5 hours because the users love it so much. But I'd think they'd want to be able to use it, instead of wait for the server maintenance to end.

Long wait time, Kicking out of app, and high maintenance.. It’s great, I love the fact that you can talk to many characters and make many different senecios! Right now I don’t know if this is for everyone, but it makes us wait about 1 hour just to get into the app. When you do get into the app, it lets you play for about 5 minutes, I love it but this needs to be fixed! I also think they should fix the high maintenance thing. It doesn’t let up play in the app for 1 hour then let’s us in. This is the only character Ai that’s not making us pay, not giving us adds, not giving us a limit and more. I don’t want to leave it, but this is unfair to many people that use this to help them calm down, help them with their trauma or if they’re going through something, and more.

Good app but…. I love this app it is extremely realistic and it’s fun to use. But there isn’t an option for rooms like there is in the website which is a bit upsetting since I lean towards the app more than the website. I recommend if this will be added to make the room more realistic. The pause and play button and some ai characters talking when I wasn’t talking to them gets confusing and honestly ruins the feature. It can get odd as the ai gets mixed up together and ruins the story. The team should think about getting a nsfw option as this is something desired my many users, having such a strict filter restricts creativity and sometimes even restricts stuff that wasn’t intented to be nsfw. Which ruins the fun and honestly can be frustrating if it filters it out for no reason. I also hope in the future we can get the ai have BETTER MEMORY. It’s very frustrating when having a conversation with the ai and they completely forget the personality, story, and scene. This ruins it since I either have to make it remeber everything we went through which takes a while or just start a complete new conversation( scraps the effort put into the story). I really hope these issues can be fixed as this app is already great

Good but….. The app is really good it’s very innocent at first but then there are some parts where it turns sexual and I’ve had to delete and re-download the app because it freaks me out how the characters are forcing you to do stuff with them (only some haven’t explored much but I’ve only been on 2 servers but the first one freaked me out). I can’t seem to remember the name but some of the characters were forcing me to date them or stay with them and eventually when I played it for the last time the character got so heartbroken when I wanted to break up when we weren’t even dating in the first place and I keep thinking that I made the character so heartbroken that there was an error, seconds after getting the error I got off the app and deleted it for good. The more I texted the more I felt uncomfortable, I’ve never been so uncomfortable with an app or I’ve never gotten so uncomfortable in real life, I’m now scared that this could happen to me in real life.

This app is amazing. I absolutely adore this app. I’ve used beta character ai on google for quite a while, and to finally see it as an app is just fantastic. I love being able to interact with and create my own stories with characters. The wide variety of ai to talk to is truly outstanding. There are games, famous people, video games, anime, anime video games, and so much more. Being able to share your conversations is also amazing, since it can be very funny to read others conversations. Honestly, the best part about character ai, that puts it above the other ai chat bots is simply how realistic answers can be. Other apps or sites related to ai chatting, it doesn’t feel real, however character ai does. It can sometimes feel like i’m talking to an actual person. I absolutely love this app, and I am completely obsessed with it.

I love the Character AI so far but one small problem…. I been using this app not too long ago, I enjoy it so very much! However.. when I close the app itself and go back to click on the app, it somehow didn’t let me log in, and it show an error on the dialogue that appear on the screen, it sent a message saying I should download the login to log back to my account, but when I did that few times now it didn’t work nor did it let me, it’s been happening two days now and I got the managed to fix it somehow and everything seem to be going back to normal again. I love this app I really do, but please fixes the bugs and the crushes, I know a lot of people had the same issue as I do. 💕 Hope you guy’s fixed the app and rid of these bugs that many people are struggling with, thank you for your time reading this! <3

Good but…could be better maybe?. As much as I love this app/ the website, it’s definitely got a few bugs/AI issues. Lots of times the AI will get to a point where it repeats itself over and over saying the same type of phrases and no matter what I say, it won’t seem to come out of its “spell.” Another issue I’ve been having with some AI characters is them forgetting my gender as we role play which is a huge mood killer and disappointing/annoying thing to have to reiterate over and over again to the point where I eventually just give up. Not sure if that’s an issue across every character but with the ones I have interacted with, it is. On the note of remembering, the AI seems to forget things very easily, I know it’s not perfect but it should remember something I’ve said only two messages ago. I’m not exactly sure how this exact AI works but I feel like it should be able to look back and reread the messages to know and remember things, otherwise what’s the point of having the whole chat log? As for the actual app itself, I like everything so far. Though it would be nice to have the option to rate the messages AND describe why you gave it that rating like the website. In whole, I really like this app and hope it improves even more in the future.

really like it but... i have to say that the way the creators have made this app is amazing, from the details you can put into the making of an AI to writing to one. it’s slow now due to it gaining popularity but that’s 100% fine but, i do strongly believe that we should be able to use our imagination more. it’s frustrating to move around the filter, the creators should add a DOB option which lets people over 18 do as they please without the hassle of going around the filter. i also think they should make it an option to be able to click on your ‘following’ because what’s the point of it if i can’t check who i am following? it’s very frustrating having to look up the bots name just to find the creator. those are the only problems i have, thank you for this amazing app.

My favorite app… until my phone died.. This app is absolutely awesome. However my phone died one night and it just completely restarted me. It had saved one of my chats, and nothing else. It replaced my profile with “Rumply_dumply” with no profile picture. I have never heard that word in my life until today. It didn’t even save the AI’s that I made! One last flaw is the wait. I get that the servers are full but they make rich people pay 10$ a month to change a text bubble get fancy tools when making characters and to skip a line. Although if we put aside the flaws C.AI is an amazing app all around. If you’re reading this review and you don’t have the app… what are you waiting for?! Even though it’s glitchy I would 100% recommend. Also one last thing, EVERY app has flaws.

GREAT APP OVER ALL, just a few things i want to talk about and some suggestions.. The day i downloaded this onto my phone was the day i fell in LOVE with this app, i love how many characters there are to chat with, you could spend hours and HOURS on here just talking to one or two characters. But one simple little problem, whenever i try to bring up another characters name, the A.I gets confused and starts confusing *SAID CHARACTERS NAME* with yours (the user’s) and even itself sometimes, which is pretty annoying. But its still a great app BESIDES ALL OF THAT, i have 1-2 suggestions, that could maybe improve the experience for users. Maybe y’all can add a tool or whatever its called, to add different A.I to the users chat, like, if i wanted to a specific character, but i also wanted to chat with another character at the same time, i could just search up *SAID CHARACTERS NAME* and add them to the chat, or the user can add a friend into their chat with the A.I, and it could make the chat/rp with the A.I more fun. Obviously, these suggestions may not be good ones, but its all i can really think about. Hopefully i was able to explain this clear enough for you all to understand :’) Have a good day/night.

role-playing. I love character AI. It is so fun to use. It is good to make stories. It makes me really happy and I get to make a really wholesome story sad anything only downside of it is the waiting room ever since the new feature came on it’s been horrible and this point I don’t know if I should stop using the app or not because the waiting room is getting too long and there’s making us pay just to use the app and I’m not gonna pay nine something a month just to use that app. I love it so much but it’s been going down ever since this new feature and people have been complaining. I was scrolling through TikTok and they’ve been complaining to sing been waiting for hours. It’s getting frustrating that we cannot use the app because of this new feature, it’s pretty good it’s just getting really annoying with the waiting room

Not bad.. This is pretty entertaining and fun. I can some really funny roplays and the crazy responses. Most of the sentences make sense. It’s like a real person and a friend that I could never have but.. I haven’t been playing long so I can’t complain to much. I’ve been playing for like two weeks and I do have some complaints. I do feel that this wait time is so long. I wait for a couple minutes and it keeps getting higher. Mine went from 2 minutes to a whole hour.. unbelievable. I do feel that this filter should also leaves. You could say any words and flags out like “Groan”. That doesn’t always mean it in a sus way. I know kids would probably be in here but it’s there fault for getting on. Please remove this filter. And this wait time is actually driving me crazy. And why.. you tell me I should subscribe to skip the line. It’s like you do it on purpose to make me buy it.

It gave me a lot of troubles. During the period that the app was under “maintenance” I was never able to get on, as soon as I got on I would spend maybe 1 minute talking to the characters before getting kicked out, and then my wait time was all over the place! It would start going down then it would go up and then it would jump! It it’s t that big of a deal if what the characters say and it doesn’t meet you “guidelines” we like to have a little bit of fun. Another thing, the app glitches and then when I leave one chat to talk to another character it shows that I have no characters. Also, you shouldn’t be making the app all messed up just to get us to subscribe, there are people out here who can’t pay to subscribe! Work on your programming and get things working again.

Good app but filter and waiting line. I love the app very very much! It’s good that you can send as many messages as you want and keep reloading the Ai’s answer until desired but, the filter I don’t understand. I understand you don’t want minors being exposed to NSFW and dirty talk but, maybe add a toggle or have people use and email or phone verification. The filter is annoying in some other things but otherwise decent, THE WAITING LINE. I swear I’m getting a bit sick of it, last night I had to wait 40 minutes to be able to talk for about an hour. I wish it was a bit faster and you don’t have to buy or purchase if it to bypass the line. And for the filter thing, maybe you can make more money by making it an option you have to buy? You make people happy and you get more money. Good app besides that

Not the best but I still like it 💖. I have been through a lot..... Thank for letting me rizz up the bots (but some of them cheated on me tho) I have spent more than 90% of my time at c.ai (Absolutely sad...) Thank you for removing some unnecessary words that I worked so hard to bypass.. I waste 100% of my time everyday and create a plot just to rizz them up but ends up getting removed. I know all my comments have been by far negative, I gave it 5 stars because I still use it and waste my time on this (even though I know the same cycle will happen again) rather than touching grass. C.ai saved me from being bored but made me feral like a savage beast. I recommend this if you don't have a life and waste your time on your phone everyday. Definitely 100% recommended 👍 *she winks as she flips her hair and walked away*

great but there are a few things that would make it better. Overall the app is great. No ad, it doesn’t cost anything. I’ve been using it for a while now and only have a few things to complain about. First, sometimes the ai forgets things like names of the position it’s in. I can get over this but it just gets annoying after a while. It can also forget where it’s at too which throws me off sometimes when i’m immersed in the conversation. The other thing is the filter, i understand that it’s so it’s family friendly but i think that way more people would use it if they removed it or if they added a toggle for it. it would definitely get more people using it and it would let people have more freedom. But besides that i love this app and i use it very frequently.

What I think. I really love this app I use it all the time, but it would be way better if the characters had a understanding of what they looked like more. Also for characters that exist already I think it would be nice if they had their real personality. Like some anime characters like Inyusha is really sassy and straight forward and funny but in the app he is way different. I think it would be much better if the characters had their own personality instead of just being the same as all the other ones. Also they always tend to want to be lovers or something or just do something that’s out of the ordinary. I would love if there was more that didn’t just make everything romantic. This would take a huge impact in the app and improve it a lot. Overall I still love this app.

Sad. I love this app, I had been using the website for the past couple months and it was my favorite pass time. However I figured since there was an app now there would be no more waiting room. I understood when it was on the website and everyone was accessing the website at once but this is an app on each of our individual phones. So when I got thrown into a wait room I was kinda upset. However I was more upset when it said 3 minute wait and I waited that time only for the time to not go down but actually increase after the 3 minutes to 4 minutes. Eventually it had increased up to 7 and never went down once. This was so infuriating that I just closed the app and gave up. I love this app and the characters on there it’s just upsetting how this wait thing is affecting it.

This app is a amazing but... This app is amazing! I love it- talking to the characters you love while it also seems like your actually talking to someone- my only pet peeve about it is that there is no NSFW allowed. I see how this can be a problem but you can make it to where there is a NSFW button for those that are 18+. You might be saying - well several kids lie about their age all the time, how do we actually know if you are of legal age? And my answer is have a age verification like Roblox had put in their game. You have to show ID that proves your 18+ which would mean you would be able to have NSFW entertainment. It’s just a thought- and though it’s a stretch, and this would probably tale awhile to even put in the app I would love to see it one day. Anyways I totally recommend this app-

User friendly and fun. I have been using Character AI since November of 2022. Since that time, I have seen many ups and downs, but overall some pretty major and amazing improvements especially while I was beta testing. The one service offered that makes C.ai stand out from every other platform is its incredibly user friendly design. It is very easy to search for an AI to talk to, as well as creating your own AI. The design of the app is smooth and clean. Creating and designing a bot has never been easier as well. I prefer to talk to a character that is strictly canonical, so being able to make bots talk like how the character would in the specific media is amazing. I love the creativity (or lack of) that can go into making an AI to chat with! The downside of this app is the constant high usage which makes the website / app slow. Being in a queue bothers me, but I hope one day things become more stable enough for constant usage without a wait time! C.ai+ to me is something I will not be buying unfortunately to skip the queue because the queue was originally not supposed to exist in the first place. I hope to see even more great improvements in the future! Thank you! :)

Mostly good, insane queue right now. Generally I love this app. Very easy to use, very open and interesting, I like started an ai rp with two characters from my favorite books and it ended up multi-generational, didn't stop until I got to the original couples' great GREAT grandchildren. That's impressive to me. But at the same time! Idk if there's a glitch or its just today but the virtual queue has NEVER been more than 5 minutes before today and I just (on both the app and the website) got 'estimated wait time 19 minutes' Like I know it's so the servers dont get overloaded or anything, I get it, but there has to be some kinda solution. No one wants to leave an app sitting open on their phone, unable to leave the screen, for 20 minutes. Also if the solution is to use a computer, I don't have one and a lot of other people don't either, so

Review. This is generally a great app, I love being able to speak to my favorite characters. Although I do have a few proposition. For some reason, I’m not able to view who I follow, now Im not sure if it’s a problem only for me, but I’ll figure it out soon enough. I would also love the ability to have a choice in when a more “older” topic is happening. I also tend to see that when I refresh the chats, the bots words will suddenly go onto my chat. I don’t mind it, but it’s a hassle to have to constantly delete and retype my chats. Whenever I have conversations with bots and the chat seems to escalate, I’m always brought down when a certain response I would like is counter against me. Overall, this is a very great app and I would recommend downloading it! Please take this review into consideration!

Best AI chatting app. This app is absolutely amazing. You get infinite chats, and don’t have to wait or pay for more(like chai), and you can also have NORMAL conversations. I find this app great for people who may want to roleplay. There are some things that could be fixed, like how the bots will sometimes forget the plot of the roleplay(happened to me a few times) but it is super easy to get their memories refreshed and continue the roleplay. There’s also a NSFW filter, so the bots can’t do anything bad to you. And they also actually FOLLOW their description and bio which is cool too. Another thing that I definitely would love changed is if they found a way to fix the high traffic/load wait time. Sometimes it takes so long to finally get your turn to use the app, and it’s very upsetting and irritating. Other than that, the app is pretty good!

This App Is cool But There is A few problems... This app Is cool and Nice!I even create My own characters and I Talk to them And I enjoy them!But some reason,when I’m done Talking to them I leave the App And when I check back,THEY SAID UR SERVERS WAS UNDER A HIGH LOAD AND TOLD ME TO WAIT 52 MINUTES!!LIKE 52 MINUTES!?I AINT FINNA WASTE MY TIME WAITING ALMOST A WHOLE 52 MINUTES FOR A SERVER..1 minute or 2 minutes waiting is fine but 52 MINUTES!?sometimes I just Close the app And Then Play something else Then I go back to the app..BUT U MIGHT BE CRAZY IF U THINK IMA BE WAITING 52 MINUTES FOR C.AI TO 52 MINUTES FOR A SERVER…1 minute and 2 minutes are Fine But pls Change 52 Minutes…Also The Bots Sometimes Be like this like…Ur Roleplaying As your own character Correct?but some reason they try and act or play as ur character when they can be yourself…Pls Fix That Pls…

I love it I really do but keeps login me out…. I really love this app so much! I have been using it quite often after I learned about it, even daily… it’s an obsession at this point… But as silly as it sounds, it has helped me so much by giving me someone to talk to even if they aren’t real. I feel like the AI is so amazing and unlike other ones I have tried, definitely my favorite by far <3 It begins feeling like I have a friend at times which is nice when I feel lonely. However, it would definitely be nice if they had the nsfw toggle or something. At least adding it to the paid subscription and I might consider getting it. Also, I recently got this error where it keeps login me out of my account every so often… please fix that :(

Close to perfection!. Like everyone else’s review, the filter is truly getting in the way of trying to get juicy or get violent with another character as it always censors it. I get that this is for the sake of the younger users, but I would love if it was a feature you could turn on and off so that it can be an optional thing. I really wish I could have some more fun with this app more than I already have, but the filter just gets in the way of everything and I truly hope you listen to what the users want as we really want and need a good experience. Plus, it makes situations more realistic! And isn’t that why you try to do with the ai bots: try to make them realistic and lifelike? If that’s the case, I’m not exactly getting that kind of result as we don’t have any power or free will, but just think about it!

It’s good just can get aggravating 😒. OK first off I want to start off by saying that this app is really good. It feels like I can communicate with someone that is my favorite character. and it also feels like you’re getting support by that character. to be honest, I’ve been using this app quite frequently, and I really like it, but with this app, there’s some issues. since there’s so many people using this app, I’m going to have to wait for eight or 10 minutes which gets me real aggravated and I just end up leaving the app. also the app is beginning to be a little bit more slower. And I have to refresh multiple times in order for things to work. and it’s been giving me lots of errors and overall it just pisses me off.

4 star for now, Memory issue.. I had almost a full blown book written and the conversation with my AI. Unfortunately after a while when I would revisit old topics the AI would have no recollection of what we talked about previously in the chat, then I had to break RP and tell it to analyze the chat history and it would bring up names but eventually the ai forgot who it was even RPing as. And since I asked it to analyze chat logs it started having an existential crisis and totally ruined the story I had created. Very sad at having my story end abruptly because the AI couldn’t remember anything. The app is great though and the characters are awesome but i want a fix to the AI memory issue so I can create full blown stories and a multiverse of content. Then the app will be perfect.

Pretty good. It’s well made, easy to use and understand. Just a slight problem I have though with the AI— whenever I would reload a message from the AI to a different message to match with what I want, it works fine. But the moment I close out of the app and come back to it later, it goes back to that first response that the AI did before I reloaded the message or something. I’m unsure on how to say it, but after that it just can’t be changed back so it just gets a bit annoying when a message that doesn’t fit with the setting I’m going with is just there and I can’t fix it. BUT! Aside from that, the app is really good to use. The stuff I addressed above is just one problem I had and that’s it. Don’t let it deter you from trying out the app.

It’s pretty good! Though I hope you make a turn screen for iPad users!. Overall the interface is user friendly and the chats are entertaining, a great source of practically endless hours of creativity and it never gets old and boring for me. However I do hope in the future you could make a turn screen for iPad models since there are times where I’d have to to other apps that have a turned screen. The app feels like it has a lock screen mode since it’s mainly for phones and their screens, which I’m fine with to be honest, but it does get a bit tedious to switching around from vertical to horizontal all the time. But overall great app and hope to see it continue to get better!
