Just make a WhatsApp. I would definitely recommend EF Ultimate Break for trips abroad, especially for countries outside of Europe. However, on my most recent trip we used the chat feature on the app and it’s horrendous. You’ll see messages on the Lock Screen but when trying to view them and respond in the app nothing loads. We used to use WhatsApp for trips and that is much better for messaging.

0/10 Would not recommend, feels like theft. My boyfriend and I booked a trip to Europe in 2020, the trip was canceled due to Covid. We were issued a voucher for the full amount. When we decided we would do our own thing (2021) we were told it would be $600 cancellation fee each. We then decided to rebook for a Australian trip in 2023. In addition to a total $4k up charge for this trip we were informed, after booking, that this trip did not offer joint rooms and this would be an additional $1k/each if we (now married) wanted to stay in a single room. At this point we were nearly $14k all in for this trip and that was simply not going to be an option for us. When we requested to cancel a trip 9 months in advance of departure, we were charged a fee of $450/each for the “trip arrangements”. There was no offer to assist with the room even though there was no mention of the discrepancy between trips at time of booking. The fact is $900 is an aggressive amount to charge, and it makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed and feel like I was taken advantage of. Please use your money elsewhere, safe travels.

Good. Seems to be a good platform! Nice that everything is in one place. Customer service has been on par too!

No sign up. App opens but there is no option for me to create an account. It asks for my e-mail and tells me to log in but there is no create account feature.

Useless. This app does not provide anything useful for my trip, which is in 2 days. The app worked fine for the first few weeks, but starting a few days ago, I havent been able to access any information about my trip. When I click on my trip on the “Tours” page, I should be able to see options to view the group chat, itinerary, my flights, etc. All I see is that my tour is in 2 days, and nothing else.

Nothing that Hasn’t Been Said Already. It’s a good app overall, but the lack of notifications is a deal breaker especially when the tour guide posts important information. It would also be nice to have a private chat with other travelers.

App doesn’t load. The app worked a couple of months ago but now it doesn’t load at all. Tried deleting and re-installing and it still doesn’t load anything. I submitted a help ticket and have heard nothing.

What’s going on?. I have had the app for a few months now and up until a few days ago it was working great. About a week ago it only showed me a countdown to my trip and I couldn’t access anything else for my trip. Now, it won’t even load my trip and I have tried deleting the app and re-downloaded it to see if that solved the issue- NOPE. My trip is in less than a month and I’m bothered by the fact I can’t use this “convenient” tool to make preparation easier.

The app needs work. The app was working fine and then it “updated” and no longer works.

Amazing Trip & Great Tour Guide. My boyfriend and I had the most amazing trip! We were able to go in a hot air balloon, ride camels, feed monkeys, and learned about the traditional arts like leather making and ceramics in Morocco. It was a beautiful country and we had the best time. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to travel to Morocco. Rabie Farres was our tour guide and he was amazing - he worked 24/7 to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time. He went above and beyond our expectations and was the most patient, informative, and organized tour director I’ve ever had. 10/10!

Started out fine. Downloaded the app last month and it worked great. But now as of a couple of days ago, the only thing that shows up when I click of my trip is “Days until I’m traveling the world.” Everything else including the group chat doesn’t show up at all

App won’t load tour. Nothing will load no matter what I do

Would recommend. I’ll definitely be doing another tour through EF. Absolutely adore my tour guide. It was super fast paced and we got to see so much of Italy in 17 days. It went by way too fast. I love some of the people I met and hope to still be able to talk to them once we are all home. Next Greece!!!

I didn’t have to worry about anything even on free days I would always get a recommendation on great places to visit and eat. I just finished booking my second trip! You won’t regret it.

NYE 17 days Europe Road Trip. My first Europe Trip and also the longest trip ever I took solo for myself and I am so happy I chose EF Ultimate break to show me a whole new world. First time celebrating NYE in Amsterdam. First time snowtubing in Swiss Alps. First time watching soccer in Roma. First time riding Gondola in Venice and many more first time… My tour director Alejandro did an amazing job to provide and support everything I need. He is friendly and knowledgeable so I highly recommend him for your next trip.

EF Is a scam. This is the absolute worst company and I'm pretty sure it's all a scam. I booked a trip back in March and found out two months before I was set to leave that they had canceled my tour due to "low enrollment". Due to their policy, I was supposed to be able to be rebooked for a similar date. THEY RESCHEDULED MY TRIP 4 TIMES AND WERE UNABLE TO CONFIRM ME FOR A TRIP ALL 4 TIMES. They had my money for two months and were unable to rebook me each time, despite telling me I would be prioritized to be booked. They also kept trying to charge me an extra "adult fee" every time THEY had to reschedule my trip. I absolutely regret not canceling sooner, as they took 2-3 weeks each time I rescheduled to inform me that I wasn't able to be booked. In the amount of time I spent on hold and calling those incompetent clowns over the course of my rescheduling process, I would have been able to book my own trip a dozen times over. Fortunately, I ended up being able to book a trip through G Adventures at the last minute. G Adventures was able to book me and get me a flight ticket in just an hour. G Adventures was able to do in ONE HOUR what EF literally could not do in TWO MONTHS. EF is literally a scam. Don't ever give them your money.

Love it. It’s a great app and makes traveling so much easier in regards to your tour. Although I think the app should ave the feature to look and book new trips instead of going to the website (unless I’m missing it) altogether it’s easy to use and can’t wait for more trips with you guys!

Cool app and easy to use. Really like using this app for my 3rd EF trip! There are some improvements to made though. It would be great to get notified when anyone posts/comments on the group chat or mentions you. As of now, it only notifies you if someone likes or comments on a post you’ve made. So I have to manually go in and check if there are updates to the chat. Would also love a private messaging feature if we will not be using WhatsApp so you can communicate with your roommates and others on tour.

Needs work. So far it looks okay but the app crashes with money converter and trying to change it from dark to light mode and you can’t message people privately.

Really helpful features. I love the tour chat and getting to share photos with my group! Can’t wait to go to Kenya and see all the animals 🦒🐘🦁 Could use a forgot password option

Update. The new update makes the app useless.

Cannot do more than log in. When I open the app, I get the login screen. After logging in, it’s perpetually stuck on “loading your experience” no matter what connection I am on. I’m also unable to alter any settings, but I can see them.

Don’t let them rob you. You’ll have no idea where your money is going - all of the hotels, flights, and accommodations are cheap and terrible. I could have easily done this trip by myself, and for cheaper to. You’re better off traveling solo…otherwise you risk having a worse experience

Touring Japan. I had a wonderful experience in Japan, and I owe a lot of it to our tour directed Hiromi-san. She was amazing to connect with and did a wonderful job organizing all of the different events. You could tell she genuinely cared about us. I plan to schedule more trips through EF because of how much I enjoyed this trip. Thank you to everyone involved who made this possible!

BALI TROPICAL. The trip was amazing ! All of the attractions are absolutely beautiful. However , the only hotel that was very nice and up to standard was SENS HOTEL IN UBUD. Tijili Hotels are not the bet hotels. Tijili Benoa was the worst hotel by far. Very dirty , not very helpful and had many maintenance issues.

Loading forever. Nothing ever loads it just shows the little airplane logo with loading and then freezes up. I can’t open any trip because the app just freezes sometimes it won’t even let me open the app

Great trip. Best trip ever. Meet cool people . Iceland is beautiful. Dave was the best tour guide

Lots of Bugs. I was super excited to see EF created an app! It was working for a while, but ever since the last update it hasn’t loaded a single thing for me. If this is our main source of communication while on a trip, it isn’t very reliable. Hopefully once all the bugs are fixed it’ll be a great resource!

Chat needs improvement. The app is great to see a quick overview of your trip. The chat feature is completely useless. Having to open the app just to see if someone has sent something important in the chat is a pain. There’s no point in the chat feature if you can’t get push notifications and have to open the app to check. Now that my trip leaves in less than 30 days I am checking the chat every morning.

Okay…. Well I got this app because I wanted to start traveling more and I have had friends to use this app but I can’t even access the app because it won’t load in. It’s been loading for literally two days. Over. It.

New Years Tour. This was my first time traveling internationally, so I was pretty scared to take this opportunity. I’m glad I took this because it was filled with so many beautiful and silly memories. It’s difficult to find the words to describe how I felt during this trip. All I have to say is my heart was very grateful on every aspect of this trip. My tour director was Dario: he’s such an amazing and caring person. My rating for this trip is 100/100.

Issues. The page takes me to login but I don’t have an account so in effect I’m unable to access the app. Don’t see a way or option to set up account. Only login existing account.

App not working. The tour part of the app is in a constant loading screen so I’m unable to interact with my fellow travelers before departing

Alex- Budapest, Vienna & Prague 07/13-0722. From start to finish, I had a really great experience with EF. I was hesitant at first, but everything was amazing. Our your director, Alexandra blew me away with her generosity, support in everything else!

Chat update is not good. Newest version doesn’t show you who all is going on your trip, only the people who have interacted in the chat. It doesn’t even show you the amount of people in your tour group. There was already an option to hide your profile from fellow travelers (which hides your picture and travel stats but not your name), so why not just make that the default setting for all profiles unless the traveler opts in to adding a photo and sharing stats? Being able to see the list of first names from past trips has been helpful when looking at photos and remembering events. The updated version of the chat now makes it even harder for all travelers to interact - especially the shy people.

Slow App. I think the app is a good idea because for my first EF trip it didn’t exist, however it is extremely slow to load. It takes several minutes to load when you click on anything. It’s no wonder the tour directors still use WhatsApp to communicate instead of the EF app. Also when you get a new notification of any kind, the notification always says something about there being a new update available instead of saying what it’s actually about (I.e. “someone commented on the chat”).

Chat should be more prominent. App is great so far, very easy to use. The trip info and itinerary are clear and easy to navigate. But the group chat needs to be more up front and easy to see. Either it needs to be one of the first things you see upon opening the app, or have some sort of alert to new messages so we don’t have to constantly be going to the chat to see if there’s anything new.

Needs slight work. I really like the app and love what they’ve done, however I don’t know if it’s just me but everytime I open the app it doesn’t load the trips page for details, so I have to log out and log back in every time I open the app. It’s kind of annoying, but hoping it gets fixed!

Venice, Florence, and Rome NYE Trip. I had a great time on the Venice, Florence, and Rome NYE trip! Dario was an amazing and accommodating tour guide who made sure we had everything we needed to have an enriching and fun trip. EF was very easy to work with and I was quickly able to book the trip even though I booked it on the later side. I had 0 problems booking this trip or during the trip and I would definitely go on an EF trip again!

Good so far!. I just downloaded the app for my tour in late august. I like it so far! It seems a little limited on what all you can do. I think they should add a section to see all tours rather than just the one you’re booked on. I love seeing our itinerary day by day!

Greece trip. I thoroughly enjoyed myself . Our tour guide, Adam, is phenomenal at what he does ! I felt safe at all times, and he was very supportive and knowledgeable, every step of the way . Will book ANY trip Adam does in the future .

EFUB App. I’m very glad they have this app now. I feel like it will make things run a lot smoother. There are still some issues with the app. You currently won’t get any notifications, even when someone posts in your group chat.

Tour not loading. No matter how many times i install and reinstall the app continues to be blank and it won't show my tour

Group Chat Issues. Love that they made an app and it seems really useful, especially since I used to just go to their website and login on my phone every single time I wanted to check on something which was annoying. My only major issue is that after posting something in the group chat, I can't respond to what people have replied to me

I love this company to travel but this app not good. The app has a hard time loading. My group chat for my upcoming tour isn’t loading so I don’t even know if the group chat started ( my tour is in less than 30 days) or if it’s just not loading. It loads very slow or not at all to the point I still have to look on the website. I’m most worried about this group chat bc it’s not working for me or my friend and like I said we leave for this trip soon and we don’t even know who our tour guide is or what. That said this company EF is pretty amazing and we have traveled with them in the past and will continue too until we age out 😂

Ef Italy - Venice,Florence, and rome. This was an amazing trip all around, good people, good food, good sites. Our guide Dario was the most amazing guide. He has the best energy and always kept the mood fun and energetic. I highly recommend him as a guide. He showed us all the great places to go and made the trip so much more enjoyable. 10/10 recommend!!

Not working. Cant reply in group chat, can’t change profile info or picture. Reached out to support with no reply. My trip is in less than a month

Iceland April 22-27 2023. First day of arrival was unorganized and frustrating as we were waiting in the downstairs lobby for most of the day as other people slowly arrived. Instead of waiting around, I believe this time would have been better used as free time as most of us were hungry and sleep deprived from our overnight flights. We did not get our room until 3pm, so we went 12-24 hours with no food and no time to rest. We were then told to just drop our bags at 3pm in the room to start our tour around town. No one at this time had a chance to eat yet and we were all exhausted which made it difficult to enjoy the day. Second day: Waterfall tours were very well done and tour director was knowledgeable and led the day well, lunch that was included was very delicious. The northern light excursion was a great experience and I highly recommend staying with that company as it was an amazing experience despite not seeing the lights. However, due to having to wake up very early the next morning I would recommend having this on night 3 instead since we didn’t have anything planned until Blue Lagoon at 1330. Would have filled the day better and gave us more time to sleep after the lights. Third day: This days itinerary was slightly misleading as we did not get a chance to see any volcanoes up close, and only spent 10 minutes at the glacier lookout. Black sand beach was a great experience and in speaking with other members it was the favourite part of the trip. Fourth(Last) day: We had an absurd amount of free time until we left for blue lagoon at 1330. As mentioned above, the sleep in time would have been great following the lights instead. A group of us went on an excursion we booked ourselves, whale watching… and hearing from others in the group this would have been something that everyone wished would have been an included scheduled activity. It was an incredible experience. Dinner at the brewery was excellent. Tour Director: Phillipe was responsible and polite. However he is a bit on the quiet side, did not engage much with the group. I expected someone more outgoing and conversational. I found that he was very time-crunch concerned and perhaps needed to read the room better and could have cut some things shorter, leaving a little more time at the places that we really enjoyed. Overall, the tour was very enjoyable.
