Can’t stop playing. Story not connected at all, so you don’t know what to do next. Everything else is okay

Waste of money. I agree with some of the other reveiws. The lighthouse switch to turn the power on has been not possible. Barely into the game and stuck. When you try to hit the switch the panel recedes back. Sorry I spent money on this.

fun game with a good story. I hope it can be longer. After searching for the back story, I decide to play it again.

Have to stop playing, so sad. Great concept and interface for the hints and walk thru video BUT I just can’t get the switch in the room turn on after it is revealed in the light from the lighthouse. Got the parts to line up but try as I might the switch never moves, after over 100 try’s …I’m out of here… looks lovely though.

Not good on iPad. It’s obvious how much thought and work went into this game, and I really wanted to love it. It’s unfortunately terrible on the iPad—you can know how to solve a puzzle, and try it twenty times, and go check a walkthrough to make sure it’s correct, and the touch interface still won’t allow you do solve the puzzle (in part because of the double tap-zoom out issue). Too bad. The puzzles themselves are really nice.

Not as clever as the developers think they are.. There are several things about this game that are quite glitchy. I’m sure they had a lot of fun making it, but all it really becomes is tedious and annoying, not fun. Definitely should not have won any awards. Do not buy. I wish I could get a refund.

Tolerances on matches a little too tight. I love the game but several of the matches are just a little too tight - once you find the match you shouldn’t have to fiddle with it endlessly to make it fit..

Beautiful Journey. Besides being an incredibly clever puzzle game, this also offers a touching tale. Challenging enough to need the helpful hints (which recharge on their own) but so rewarding when you figure it out on your own! Wonderfully done!!

Kind of exhausting. The idea is neat, but the puzzles are so unintuitive that they become thoroughly frustrating pretty early on. I found myself not only waiting for hints, which I almost never do in games, but watching the videos. And even then, I still didn’t really grasp how or why I ever would have guessed a particular action. It’s not a bad game, but it’s not a particularly fun or satisfying one either.

Beautiful and challenging. If you’re like me and feel disappointed by puzzle games that are too easy… this one’s for you!

Why is the bottle glitched out. I have been enjoying it but I got to the point where you turn the bottle to move on and I can’t get passed it. According to the hints when you turn the bottle the label is supposed to turn to and then you can complete the section. I can turn the bottle but in the second position the label disappears, making it impossible to complete. Is this a glitch? Besides that, love the game. Edit: I ended up deleting and re-downloading the game and it fixed the bug

Delightful and original. A bit tricky at times, but also has a really well-designed hint system to get you unstuck.

Great game but definitely not for IPhone. So so so hard to merge 2 scenes together while trying to pull the trigger… the connection frequently breaks or my action is always perceived as double tap and exit….very difficult to proceed…the cubic in my iPhone also appears small and makes it hard to find any clue…. The only good thing is hints are free and has video instruction

Beautiful but not a great puzzle game. The art of this game is fantastic and the core perspective mechanic of the is really fun, but the touch controls and various states that the cube can be in make it frustrating. Any given side of the cube can have layers of zoom and if you just so happen to not be on the right layer while rotating the cube it’s very easy to miss solutions, resulting in having to constantly move between states of the cube just to see what works. When you add on things like lighting states affecting how things merge, the amount of possible ways to observe one face of the cube gets too high. Ultimately by the end the novelty had long worn off and I just wanted to be done with it.

Such a great idea but….. Update: I had to take a star back. I had tried the radio puzzle 19 times and couldn’t get it to link. Finally I viewed the video-i hate to resort to a walkthrough-only to find out I was doing it exactly right. Yes, I’m on a new IPad. A lot like Vignettes but less finicky. Also each puzzle does not rely solely on the correct position to merge two items — other aspects come in to solve puzzles. So if nothing happens when you’ve managed to create a beautifully merged item, it does not mean you’ve got the wrong solution — just not the entire solution. Also try the solution at least twice. Its a matter of touching the switch (or whatever) juuuuuuussst right. My source of frustration.

Bug or problem on the first screen kills it. Unfortunately, I can't get past the first puzzle because of a bug that doesn't allow me to move an object I'm supposed to move, nor does it allow me to save my progress. I watched the walkthrough and I'm clearly doing the right thing. It just doesn't respond properly on my device, an iPad Pro. Really disappointing that it stopped working at the very beginning. I was really looking forward to this game. Sad.

Best game ever. I don’t write reviews but this game is beautiful! I completed it and wish there was another like it.

I started to like this, but then it got to a point where it just got ridiculous!. When you have an interface that insists on doing certain actions in a specific order, AND also insists on you tapping to complete an action to turn something on while having you trying to maintain the merging of two separate images, this not only goes beyond ridiculous, this gets downright frustrating and makes ordinary patient people want to break their iPads in half and course the developers of the game. I love the concept. However, the devs need to keep in mind that if two actions require you to tap at the same time, once to merge and then once to complete a separate action, like turning on a light, then the program recognizes that as a double-tap and backs you out. This game was never meant for tablets and should have never been set up for tablets unless you could have come up with additional instructions for merging or having the scene merging lock itself in some way. Next time, thoroughly test your games before releasing them out into the world. It would save a lot of time and frustration. The concept is awesome and would've worked had you workshopped it a little more, but nothing frustrates me more than a game that is incomplete and frustrates the user because the devs didn't take the time to figure out how to handle merging scenes.

Almost fun. The effort required to get all sequences exactly right and alignments exactly right and colors exactly right and night vs. day exactly right . . . well, you get my drift. This game rapidly ceases to be fun. And using headphones does nothing to improve the experience.

Beautiful and satisfying. This is a beautiful game with satisfying moments of intuition. The looping nature was nice and the hints were often enough to get me going without giving it away.

Took some practice. Needed a lot of help along the way but got the hang of it. There is definitely a story line there. But darned if I can get anything more than a whiff of it. Overall glad I played through to the end.

Just about an old man who wants to be with his boy.. And what a beautiful and seamless way to tell this story. I found myself in tears at the end. Love it.

I give up. It’s a pretty experience with a fascinating puzzle dynamic, but turns out it is next to impossible to play, and you don’t even have any interest in playing because there is no story (sorry, cryptic faceless photographs don’t count). The hint system is crucial because you never know what to do. If the developers had done any testing with real people this should have been a red flag. I finally gave up when it was impossible to replicate what the hint video did with the lighthouse light. I want my money back.

Dope game. Fun but challenging puzzles.. I would even pay $5 for this game. Hopefully they make more in the future. Unique concept.

Beautiful but arbitrary. Beautiful game and a clever mechanic. Hat’s off to the designer’s for creativity. But the puzzles are arbitrary and disjointed. There’s a lot of time spent just figuring out what to do next. That leads to a slow game pace which can get frustrating.

Not for the impatient. Amazing game… beautiful and CHALLENGING. Everyone has different minds and ways they perceive the world… I can’t speak for bugs since I didn’t have any issues on my 2021 iPad Pro… but to read some of the comments condemning the game cause they couldn’t figure a puzzle out is hilarious and prompted me to review this game. There’s hundreds of threads on Reddit and websites people can easily turn to… giving a one star for lack of patience or cognitive functioning is hilarious

Beautiful. Beautiful, interesting and challenging game. I never write reviews, but this was too good not to praise. Highly recommend for anyone that likes relaxing, visual puzzle-type games.

Prepare to be bored and frustrated. Bought this game because it was on the Apple awards page for bests of the year. I wish I wouldn’t have. It’s not a very good game. It tries to be escape room but fails in its attempt. There is no “ figuring of a puzzle out”. It’s basically blind luck, hoping to match up shapes to get to the next screen. I tryed to give it a chance. Played it for 2 hours, aimlessly turning the cube. I think it made my eyesight worse, straining to look at the small pictures on an iPhone screen. This game isn’t fun, it’s pain.

Great puzzle. I really enjoyed this puzzle game. Actually, there are puzzles within puzzles in this game. I think the game required quite a bit of intuition, as there are no written rules to guide you. If you get stuck, sleep on it, the solution will come to you. It reminded me a bit of Gorogoa, which I also really enjoyed. I appreciate all the thought and attention to the developers took with the puzzle.

Marred by terrible touch interface. The game is clever and challenging in all the right ways, BUT it was clearly designed for a non-touch interface, as the alignments necessary to get the puzzles to click into place are WAY too finicky. The result is that you know what you need to do but the UI makes it nearly impossible. I gave up at a light switch that was so near another item it was literally impossible to activate without shifting the view and making the switch inaccessible. After 20 mins of frustration I decided to stop wasting my time. Disappointing.

Doesn’t work. Was enjoying this until I got to a part that doesn’t work. I am supposed to use the lighthouse to turn a light on but it doesn’t work. I’ve seen the video of what to do but there’s a bug that won’t allow it to work.

Best game ever!. This is a unique game that intertwines images to finish a puzzle. I’ve never played anything like this and hope they come out with more!

Difficult but fabulous game. It is really difficult, you might have to rely on the hints a lot, but if you played too much puzzle game like me, I would say this is THAT game you are looking for. Story is touching but it is definitely too blurry to know the detail, not a big deal to me. It is so difficult that developer literally have to use hints to push the game forward, but the logic becomes clear after two or three chapters and it starts to get interesting. Graphic, music and animation are nice. 5 star game⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So good. I loved this game. The puzzles were challenging but not out of this world far fetched like some puzzle games. The animation was beautiful, the visuals were stunning. My largest and only complaint is that it seemed a touch short. Basically I want more

No sound on iOS. “Wear headphones for a better experience” of no sound. Update: Make sure Silent Mode is off. This is the only game I’ve seen that’s affected by silent mode.

Impossible to work on iPhone. I’m twenty minutes in and had to delete the game. The game gives you the solution and it is still impossible to touch the screen in any way to make the solution work. I’ve looked online and several others also deleted the game at this stage.

Terrific game,. But I cannot get the light switch on from the lighthouse! I have lined up the birdcage, seen the switch, but when I touch it, the pictures move and I’m still in the dark! I am ready to delete it but would love to know how to proceed instead! Help! Ps and I’m playing on my IPad.

Fix the bike wheel!. I am BARELY into this game an I am sooo done. I am on the gate lock puzzle and the alignment of the bike wheel is supposedly perfect, per the glow..and no matter what I do the pedal will not turn. I zoom out. Reset the bottom picture to teddy bear, zoom back in to the perfectly aligned bike wheel and it’s not turning. Puzzle games should not be this hard.

Dead end bug!. This game started out great and was progressing smoothly, but when it came time to drop the blue battery into the toy train, there was no train anywhere and the room shown on video was not visible either. That scene was not there and something else was. I deleted app and reinstalled twice and wound up at the same dead end each time. There is no tech support in English. Sounded great, but a big frustration and waste of money!

Beautiful and challenging. This game is phenomenal. I love these perspective-based puzzles and this definitely scratched that itch for me The art is beautiful and the sound design is incredible. Each cube having its own sound really immerses you in the experience. They always make good use of the premise. The only cons for me would be that some of the puzzles are a bit too obtuse. I would never have figured them out without hints. Fortunately they provide a generous hint system (along with a video if you get TOO stuck) The other con is that the story doesn’t feel like it sticks the landing. I was engaged the entire time, but the ending left me wondering what the ultimate point was. Those points are really minor though, overall I think this game is wonderful

Amazing, but some logic and design issues.. I’d recommend playing this to anyone for its unique and fun puzzle design, but there have been some weird decisions that have irked me. Decisions like having the solution to exclusively one puzzle (iirc) involve matching on the same side of the cube, like going with weird logic like matching one door frame causes a door to open versus its own door frame. The hint system is pretty good, which alleviates these issues a bit so again, still highly recommended. Make sure you go for the true ending.

Not worth the time. You have to line up the image exactly before it will let you move on. I spent 10 minutes trying to get an image to work with no success. I thought I was doing it wrong so I watched the video and I was doing it correctly. But still it was not letting me place the image on. It’s a game it should be fun. If you’re way off it’s understandable, but to be a hair width off is another thing.

Absolutely brilliant. This game is so beautifully designed. I’d recommend playing this to anyone and everyone with a sweet spot for storyline puzzles. I wish it would never end

Flawless.. This game has worked nothing but perfect, and I am confounded by the bad press it seems to be getting. If this game is challenging, use the hints. If you don’t like that it’s too hard, you shouldn’t have downloaded a puzzle game. Thank you for making Moncage, it has served me well and I have now done it several times and gotten every achievement. For some reason playing Before Your Eyes reminded me of this game, so here I am again. Anyway.

Gorgeous game, very hard. I loved this, though it was very hard to figure out some of the puzzles. I used the hints a lot. Very satisfying though.

Mind blowing beautiful game. I enjoyed playing this game, such a smart game play system and beautiful storyline. The in game hints are really helpful when stuck, and interesting achievement settings as well. I haven’t collect all the photos through my first run, so doing a second play through. Love how the end and the begging of the game connect to each other, feeling like a perfect time loop. Strongly recommended for ppl who like challenges and unique game design. And please do a sequel!!!!

Brilliant. Very impressed with how intricate the puzzles are and how how all string together. It seems like you’re just working your way through obscure puzzles until the end when you realise there’s actually a story which was unfolding the entire time which fits beautifully with the scenes you’ve worked through. Disappointing. Purchased this app which said is was compatible with my IPad. It crashes and shuts down whenever I try to open the app. Buyer beware!

Mind-bendingly clever.. This gorgeous puzzle game is challenging and ingenious. The key to solving the puzzles in Moncage is to find the right perspective, either by matching objects or simply finding them. A backstory is subtly pieced together not only by the scenery but by the photos littered through the landscapes, which offers some replay value in hunting for all the pictures. The difficulty is modest to begin with but quickly ramps up, with some puzzles having very obscure solutions. Thank goodness for the hint system, because I kept getting stuck! If you want a vigorous workout for your eyes and brain, Moncage is a worthy choice. The care that’s gone into creating this game, along with the peaceful gameplay experience free of annoying ads or in-app purchases, make it well worth the price to download.

Inventive puzzles. Rare to find a game in the puzzle genre which actually brings something new and interesting. The art style is simple but still manages to tell a gorgeous story. The collectibles that you come across add extra depth to what you’re unveiling as the game goes on. The final act of the player before the game is finished is just gorgeous. I’m very glad I’ve come across this game and have really enjoyed playing it.

Loved this. Relaxing, challenging, hooking. So enjoyable. Once i finished it and knew everything i quickly played it through again just to enjoy it all in one hit. Thank you developers for this game. Please make more like it

Amazing game but has a frustrating bug.. This is a delightfully clever game until you come across the lighthouse scene with the electrical switch that will take you approximately 200 taps to switch on. I wish they would fix this as no one has that kind of patience.

Fantastic game!!!!!!!. I came across the game on social media and after playing I am absolutely amazed by the imagination of the devs (even after going through the entire game twice). The only issue is that the game is a little short and I was able to complete it in a few hours. It would be great if the devs can come up with more levels or stories or something!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Great Game. I love The Room Series, Eyes of Ara etc. This game is similar to Gorogoa which I also really enjoyed. First time playing needed the hints sometimes, but some really clever puzzles. Graphics beautiful.

Stuck on level with lighthouse switch. I was loving this game, however the level where the lighthouse is shining the light on the dark room that lights up the switch won’t let me flick the switch and I am incredibly frustrated!

The mechanics distract too much from puzzle solving. The game is far too finicky. I often can figure out the solution but just getting things to line up “just so” is harder than it needs to be. The idea should be solving, not dexterity. I found that I couldn’t care about the story because I was too annoyed by the game mechanics.

Challenging and fun. This game was pretty challenging, and I used a lot of hints to help me through. I liked that the hints weren’t readily available, so you could try to figure things out on your own for a bit first. I would play the sequel if it becomes available! Give it a try!

Ridiculously tiny images. My iphone 14 is about 3x6.5 inches, this game uses a 2 inch square rotating cube containing the images that are the game. That is about 20% of the screen. Then you have to touch the screen with two fingers to highlight essential objects. But nothing happens when you click on those objects and the width of my fingers nearly covers up the entire 2 inch image. What a piece of garbage. Stay away!!!

O.m.g.. What a game. This is pure magic, the music, the graphic. We NEED more! Brilliant. It gets harder by the level, the visual and audio makes the experience x 100. Great job! Can't wait for a sequel, I will be the first to buy.

Emotional story with good puzzles. I’m very impressed by this game, honestly. The emotion towards the end when the story comes together is beautiful. I struggled with some of the puzzle mechanics following different rules (lining up items within the same scene for instance all of a sudden), and I wish the snap was a bit stronger for lining things up as that felt finicky. Once I got past those challenges though it was enjoyable. Thanks for developing it! It’s been worth sharing with friends.

24 hours of fun.. Gorgeous game. Problem is that i bave finished it all in less than 24 hours. I don’t want to sound cheap and I am not really sorry for the money spent but in this day and age for its price it should give me more than a day of entertainment . Given a week or so I would have rated it 5 star.

買了遊戲只能玩十幾分鐘？. 這個價位確實貴了點，而且遊戲內部分體驗也不好，例如燈塔照明的那個光線，我知道是要打開電源開關，就是一直都點不到那個房間電源總開關，無論怎麼避開燈塔，都還是點不到後面的位置，總來說遊戲點擊精準度不高，而且還沒修復，一直就卡在點不到的地方，也不能跳過，就因為這樣體驗了十幾分鐘遊戲，之後的都沒得玩了呵呵

Pay for frustration. It does not surprise me that there is a certain segment of the gaming population that enjoys this type of game. However, I assumed the iPad game of the year would have more of a broad appeal. I was wrong. $4 wasted. Caveat emptor.

Don’t buy just because it got “game of the year” award. Interface BUGS galore. Can’t align wheel to trap door no matter what angle I try. And this is on the new iPad Pro M2!!!

Waste if money. Even when things line up nothing else happens. Solving the step just reverts back to the initial problem.

创意不错，剧情及解密性有待提高。. 作为机械迷城，画中世界，the room，lumino city等解密类游戏玩家，次游戏一开始上手确实让人眼前一亮，但是玩一下之后就感觉完全不知所云，陷入了为了解密而解密的局面，也不知道为什么要这么做。行李箱指南针和炸弹几个情节下来，感觉越来越无厘头，甚至玩出动作游戏的感觉出来了，一度想放弃，看了视频提示做了好几遍才彻底搞明白这一连串的关卡。完全没有兴趣再玩下去了，没有把主线剧情给讲清楚只是零散关卡的解密并没有什么意思，我想这也是此游戏跟上述游戏之间最大的差别，技术性方面确实是硬核，体验方面差一些，还是建议大家体检。

It’s a fun concept and beautiful interface but there are bugs and some things don’t make sense. A lot of these solutions are illogical or weirdly convoluted. I found myself using hints on a many of them. I never would have deduced some of these solutions. For example, the light switch only able to be used in the split-second it’s illuminated. And the pressure plate. There are also some issues with items not connecting that appear to be aligned perfectly but aren’t.
