It’s fine but annoying. I never write reviews, so I really hope feedback is taken seriously. The app is fine, though not user friendly - you have to go through a bunch of unnecessary steps just to set one light setting. It’s not as easy to use as the original version. Also too, it would be nice to go back to the settings/lighting options without having to go “back” through a ton of pages. However, it does turn my lights on and off, so I guess it does the job. The reason for my review is due to a bug of the app that no matter what section of the app I navigate to (home, library, etc) it automatically brings me back to the automation “tab”. Sometimes I can’t even set the light mode I want because of this. It’s annoying and counters the whole purpose of the app.

Errors preventing setup. An in app error is preventing me from even connecting my light. The old app was better. Update: tried again a week later, still the same network error at the same point in the process (listing the rooms in my house). The developer says to use the in-app support tool... but there is no option for it! Yes I see the developer response telling me to use it but at this stage in the process there is no means of accessing it. I even made an account (they require you to sync with either facebook, apple, or Google account, they don't even offer an email option) and I still had the same problem at the same stage! I even tried using their instructions to migrate my house from the old app. They instruct the user to download the old app again if they deleted it, but once you download it the main screen only shows for a couple seconds then shuts down. I really wish I could return my light as their ASININE app has made it useless. 🤬

Junk - nothing but issues - always!!. Honestly, the lights are great - when they work. The app is horrible. My lights always magically aren’t connected, and the only way to control them is to completely reinstall the lights like I’ve never owned them. I don’t know what happened in the past few months - but it’s been a complete nightmare whatever was done behind the scenes. I would suggest any other brand where people have no issues controlling their smart lights from their app - the lights are a dime a dozen - nothing special from others. If you can’t get your lights to consistently work with the app, the app is probably more important to customer satisfaction. I’ve gotten to the point where I just let them only work with the schedule I have set up - cause magically that works just fine, but controlling them manually now is just a gigantic hassle. I will never buy this brand again due to the horrible app - it’s that simple.

New App is harder to use.. The Wiz system is great, when it works. The system is still worth buying. However the new app makes the system questionable. I think with a major overhaul(needed) this system would be a top recommendation again. Issues with the app/system: 1. Connecting lights. The process is clunky and frustrating. I have issues connecting to my router because it doesn’t separate the signal bands like the older routers would to 2.4 GHz and 5GHz. 2. The new app is constantly glitching and difficult to use off of wifi. The old app would allow me to control my lights from outside of my house. Let’s say you pull into the driveway at 11pm and you want mood lights on to set a vibe or for basic safety. It’s hit or miss. 3. Deleting/creating a new home/room. Need I say more. The front end and back end is messy. Not sure how much QA was done from the development side with this. 4. Allow me to create a home with multiple wifi networks / connections. It’s common for homes to have multiple WiFi access points. Routers or range extenders. Maybe this wouldn’t be a problem for mesh networks. I believe in this system. To circumvent many of these issues I’ve used the remotes but the preprogrammed lighting options are limited so for the most part I’m stuck with those 4. I recommend every user of this system to pick up a remote. It’s worth it!

This app is so bad.. I mean this when I say, I’m a very, very patient person. I’ve never left a bad review for anything ever. I truly believe everyone is trying their best at all times, and it isn’t up to me to judge if they’re best is or isn’t good enough. That said, this app is honestly dogsh*t. The lights constantly drop connection for days at a time. If you have lights grouped pretty frequently one or two of them won’t respond while one will, throwing off any attempt to have a unified color scheme or even working in sync. Thank God as soon as Matter integration was released I connected all the lights to Apple Home. It isn’t great but I can turn the lights on when I need to, and they actually link. On that note, the dev’s built a “reset devices” button into the app that’s said “Stay tuned for our coming update” for 6 months and multiple updates. All of which seemingly have broke this even worse.

👋🏼👋🏼🎤… is this thing on??. Does anyone from Wiz/Philips care how awful this “v2” update is? Congrats on making an app that is one step forward in looks and 10 steps back in terms of usability. What good is an app (or the light for that matter) when you cant even add a new light without the “unknown error has occurred” message? Yes, I spent $25 dollars per light to control color, brightness, etc so I couldnt add or control at all. But hey at least when I’m trying, the app looks marginally better. Congrats on the release of a mediocre looking app with terrible end-user functionality. 30 lights (~$750) later. I hope heads roll for all who gave the green light on this release. “I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed…” Do better Wiz/Philips.

incredibly frustrating. had an incredibly frustrating experience trying to “upgrade” to the wiz app v2. i’m honestly confounded as to what the upgrade could possibly be here, since it’s so buggy it’s barely functional and the UI isn’t even really an improvement from the simplicity and functionality of v1. dark mode? “tips” that i just want to X out of? never remembering my preferred settings or allowing me to even turn off vacation mode? i was ready to give up on these bulbs completely until i realized that if i delete v2 off my phone i can go back to using v1 just fine. as soon as they fully phase out the legacy app i guess i’ll just have to switch to a different brand…

Big downgrade in V2. I concur with the negative reviews of V2. I used V1 for years without issue, but migrating to new app is a major time waster for no effect. Don’t tell me I can’t add a light because I’m “not authorized as the home owner”!! Lights that have worked fine for years now are irretrievably “offline”. And please don’t ask me like you ask other upset reviewers to engage with your tech support to help you figure out your software issues and waste more of my/our time. You created a cool product in V1 and I think you’re probably capable to clean up V3 to make it usable. But please, maybe a bit more field testing before foisting it on the world? K-I-S-S!! See if your mom can program HER lights, then you’ll have something.

Bad software. Schedules and Rhythms fight one another.. I installed this app about five days ago and so far, I haven’t been able to figure it out. Well, the idea of the Circardian cycle seems appealing. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the option to turn off the lights completely at night one possible solution to this I thought it would be to create a schedule on top of it. However, the way schedules are set up. It’s not intuitive. One would think that there would be an easier way to turn lights off. However, the way scheduling is set up toggles lights off at the end of the schedule. So you need to overlay the schedule with the cicardian rhythm. Anyway. Same exact setup for 3 different rooms and I get different results in each one of them. This app turns something as easy as turning ON and OFF a light into something impossible.

Inconsistent automation. Some of my configured automations don’t work when they’re supposed to. My garage lights don’t turn on at the scheduled time anymore. When I first upgraded to this new v2, all of my automations from v1 imported over and garage lights worked fine. Now they don’t turn on as scheduled. My living room lamp used to turn off at 11:30pm every night then Daylight Saving Time ended and my lamp now turns off at 10:30pm. I tried recreating the automation for my lamp but still turns off at 10:30pm. I removed the light bulb itself to see if it would reset or erase the setting but still no change. I’m gonna have to reinstall the v1/legacy app until the bugs are worked out of v2.

Not so great. I worked hard to understand and set up my original version 1 app and was doing pretty well with it so when they said I had to use the new app and they would migrate everything for me I thought I would be ok. But no turns out they had 3 different accounts on my list and I chose the wrong one and could not pair some bulbs even manually Finally I deleted a bunch of lights in one account and chose another which I have gotten to work after 3 HOURS of concentrated effort. If the bulbs were not so $&@#% expensive I would have smashed them. The new app is horribly counterintuitive to use and it is maddening to be forced to update and mess up something that works. You need to do some naive user testing before releasing When theses bulbs go I will not be buying Phillips again. And for the record I have used multiple brands of computers, software and handheld devices successfully for 30 years.

Constant disconnects. I have used these bulbs and the V1 app for years. I recently changed to the new Verizon router and my Alexa integration stopped working. I upgraded to the V2 app and went back to my original router and the integration never worked. In fact the V2 app never worked. The lights CONSTANTLY disconnect within 5 minutes of adding them again from scratch. No matter what tricks I use no matter what setting, I am forced to use the lights manually. I deleted this app and went back to the V1 app and my original router setup. Hopefully it can go back to working seamlessly. If this doesn’t work then I’ll be purchasing a different brand and moving on. So disappointing and a huge waste of a month of my time.

Lost one of my lights. Somehow changed a setting that keeps me from entering pairing mode for a light that was greyed out a couple months ago. I’ve tried clicking it on 3 times, 5 times, I’ve contacted support. Nothing. I’ve had this light for a while, one day it greyed out and in a desperate attempt to get it back I changed the wiz click settings to return to the last favorite mode and it is preventing me from entering pairing mode and getting my light set back up again. Trying to fix it so many times has also warmed up the bulb so hot it’s flickering and almost completely burnt out. If this doesn’t get fixed I would really like compensated because I spent a 40$ on these lights that don’t work half the time.

Broken app- v1 worked perfectly, v2 a mess. It’s been over a year since this v2 of the Wiz app came out. Though it did have a nicer looking UI at first glance, the UX has struggled since installing v2. Example: I often have to tap a light multiple times, or close the app and reopen just to turn on a light, when this used to work without a hitch in the original app. Unfortunately, things have only gotten worse over time. This last two weeks, my automations have just fully stopped working. I tried to reinstall the original Wiz app out of desperation, but it crashes upon opening, so seems I’m stuck with this now. If you still are using the original app, DON’T upgrade to this one! It is 100% a downgrade from a original app and things will no longer be working the way they once were.

Unimpressed. I was actually surprised at the high review this got. Has to be the manufacture reviewing itself… thing is super under engineered.. bought one of the wifi A19 bulbs and paired it up with their motion sensor which is bluetooth, very disappointing. What will happen is that all the system is completely useless if you turn the lights off via a switch.. these seem to be only designed if there isnt any wall switch in the room… the general rule of thumb is that even with a light switch turned off there is still some kind of voltage leak. Had they make it where that can power the wifi module in the light consistently then that wouldve made for too much sense, but if you turn the switch off you turn the app off which in turn turns the motion sensor off… not very well thought out.

Genuinely bad after they moved to version 2. Almost every time I will go into the app and the room/main screen is greyed out. Not even able to interact with my light. I’ll try to change the light and the buttons don’t even work. Every time I try to turn it on or change the light I get an “error” message. Sometimes I get no message, just fully greyed out and non-functional. I’ll close my app and open it multiple times and sometimes that works but most times it’s pure chance that I’m able to change my light. Very frustrating and just pointless to switch to a different app only for it to not work. I will probably just be switching back to a regular light bulb. I thought the colors were super cool and awesome for when you don’t want it super bright or pitch black but having to deal with this everyday multiple times a day just makes it not worth it.

Keeps losing my house. STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP— updated July ‘23. There are not enough awful things I can say about this app. Suggesting every negative reviewer message with tech support to fix an app that is clearly beyond help at this point has lost me as a customer. I’m replacing the entire house. Never again. I will actively go out of my way to keep people away from this product since it’s clear you don’t care about rolling a defective app back. New version consistently forgets my house, prompts me to do a whole new setup and has no prompt to log in again—to find my existing house. I have gone back to the old version that actually works. If you ever stop supporting it, I will stop buying these bulbs. I have already stopped recommending to friends. This so called upgrade is an epic failure. Harder to use. Buggy. Just bad. Update in May 23–still awful.

Junk. I filled my house with ceiling lights and attached them all to the original Wiz app. I saw there was an “upgrade” to this app. When installing and migrating, it deleted everything I had setup from the first app. Yes, I have an account and I was signed in. I tried to reinstall everything using this new app and there were so many issues, I’m not going waste my time trying to explain them here. I, therefore, had to re-install everything, on the original app. The developers did not test this app before launch and want the customer to solve their problems. I’m regretting buying these products for fear that in another couple years they’ll be abandoned and I’ll be left having to buy all new fixtures again. 👍 I can’t wait. Typical of today’s apps and businesses. The original app no longer works with the current IOS update 17.0.3 Genius 👍

Horrible app. I’ve been using these bulbs for well over a year now. We had some issues with the old app and they just created the V2 app but I decided to go with the original app based on all the reviews. It wasn’t smooth on the old app like everyone else says. I was having so many issue that I decided at the beginning of this year to switch. It was pretty spotty to start but then after complaining a couple times, it worked all the time with no issues for a few months. I was enjoying it and was surprised. Well, over the last month or two, this app has been complete garbage. It just randomly stops working and will only connect to one room and only one or two of the three bulbs all linked together. And it stays like that for a day or two. I have to start using the lights the way I used to with the light switch. Which defeats the reason for having these bulbs. I even spent four or five hours with customer support in the app and they never got it working. I’m with everyone else and done with these things. They would have to pay me to use these bulbs from here on out and even then I wouldn’t use this app, I would just treat them like a regular light bulb.

Bring Back the Old App!. I love my wiz lights, but the new app isn’t so unnecessary and has actively made the user experience worse. I never had any problems quickly switching between the different color options and intensities on the old app, which was perfectly streamlined and easy to use. The new app seems to have tons of new functionality, but this functionality is useless behind a rather difficult and counter-intuitive UI. The response time between choosing a light option and it activating the lights is worse as well. I have never written a review before, but I am compelled to now because this is one of if not the worse declines in UI functionality I have ever seen. The old app worked perfectly fine, was intuitive, and fulfilled all the wants I had for the service. Maybe the new UI will just take more getting used to, but the old UI was seamless and easy to use immediately. More bells and whistles is not necessarily a good thing.

Looks terrible on ipad. I've got over 50 wiz devices, been using them for several years now and I love the hardware and the v1 app was a little basic, but simple to use. This version is terrible. It's far less intuitive and more difficult to navigate. Making all that worse - it's designed for a phone size screen and doesn't scale correctly on the ipad. I get what the devs were going for, but this is a big fail. The GUI is not fun to use in any way. Urge you to keep the v1 app alive until you work things out. Take a suggestion from the devices you're running on. It'd be really nice to be able too set up my room layout like icons on my phone or tablet. Give me a 10x15 grid that I can move my lights and devices around in and setup my own custom layout. The tabs in v1 weren't perfect, but they're leaps better than the list menus in v2. I seriously don't know how you could use v1, then believe v2 is an upgraded experience in comparison. I mean come on... List menus? Really!?!!? I do like that you added some new features, looks like there's native support for motion sense now. I've not checked it out yet because I just can't bring myself to spend more that 5 min in v2. If this were a hardware alone review, it'd be 10 stars. Really really great lights and smart plugs. Wiz (Phillips) keeps adding new bulb sizes, which I really hope they keep up.

Worked well, now getting an error message. I bought a Philips light bulb because with this app, I could set a time along with a brightness. This means, I can bring up the light slowly in the morning. It worked well until recently. Now, I get: Unknown issue occurred Something went wrong please try again later. The bulb still works according to the schedule I set up. I restarted the app and my iPhone. Same problem. I tried the help through the app. After getting past the chat bot, I waited more than 10 minutes without a reply. When I got a response, I was asked to provide info, that gave me the unknown issue error. After waiting again, I gave up. I thought about deleting the app and starting all over, but decided not to. I have something that works somewhat (I cannot turn the light on or off from my phone or change the schedule , but the schedule still works). I don’t want to reinstall only to find out it it is totally useless. I have the latest version. I will look for another product. Based on my experience, don’t use this app.

Easy to use. This app is so easy to use. So far not a single glitch or problem so that’s already 5 to me, but for people who need more than that this app makes it very easy to access everything you need because of how organized it is, and this is coming from a neat freak. Although of course every app has it flaws this app’s only flaw is that it takes a while to connect to the lights. Other than that I totally recommend these lights and the app. Thank You!

Poor migration experience - lost my saved settings. I tried the migration option but all my quick settings (the one touch stuff under Simple in v1) are missing in V2. My remote seems to be missing as well. The rooms and scheduled changes seem to be there but unclear if they will continue to work as I have not really tested the app. Once I saw settings were missing I decided to remain with v1 as I do not want to recreate my settings and have zero interest in contacting support for something that still works in v1. Please improve your migration experience to move EVERYTHING. I also use Hue extensively and this same company does a FAR better job moving versions in Hue. (Hue bulbs in general are far superior but I have a mix as Hue does not support some sizes found on Wiz bulbs.)

Did not think we needed the V2 but it is great. Honestly the V1 of this app was already very good so I was skeptical why it is needed to build a V2. But V2 is even easier to use and program the light bulbs. It shows which light bulbs are connect (sometimes I turn them off from the switch), so it is now very clear which light is a hard off what is a soft off. Additionally, it is easier to program on/off schedule. Thirdly there is now a widget for simply turning on/off, which comes in handy. The widget could be slightly improved, because now it opens up the app when you pressed onitand the widget itself cannot change light color.

Constantly disconnects and changes settings. These lights aren’t reliable. It doesn’t matter what I have configured and set. The lights will randomly change color and brightness, turn on/off, or completely disconnect. I have to log in every single day to make sure the settings are adhered. I am the only owner and no one else has access to make changes. The good side of this is that when I do log in, the app accurately shows me the incorrect settings so I can quickly see which light is wrong and update it. However, the very next day it’s the same thing all over again with a different light. Frustrating. I am looking into alternative products.

Awful. New App Ruins User Experience. I can’t believe this is “2.0”… the old app was so easy to use. This new version is significantly less user friendly— basically a downgrade of the whole product line (which is crazy considering that the bulbs have only gotten more expensive). Fewer customization options, fewer accessible colors, and most annoyingly, when I automate a room there’s no way to choose which lights will participate or to what degree. What’s the point of having scenes if I can’t schedule them (outside of Circadian Rhythm, which is a useless feature for anyone who doesn’t have the exact same schedule every day). I have had hue and wiz bulbs in every room in my home for years. I use them to assist with my adhd time blindness which has been an enormous help. This app is so clunky that I actually find it eating up my time rather than helping me best utilize it. I have now redownloaded the “legacy” app to find that all of my schedules and other information have been deleted, so I will now have to re-do all of my automation by hand. Worth it to be able to delete this terrible new version. Ex: In the past I was able to have just my bedside lamps participate in the wake up phase, but with the new version every light in the room has to do the same thing. Cue horrifying bright light jarring me awake from my overhead light… so now I can’t use these lights as an alarm clock/time cue. That was the whole point of buying them in the first place.

Get these lights and this app if you hate yourself.. Idk how signify/Philips are avoiding lawsuits by putting out faulty products like this app. Clearly they’re pulling enough profits off the additional data harvesting this app has that they don’t care about quality or customer experience. I highly recommend this app to anyone who likes to waste time connecting smart lights over and over and over and over again only to be told they’re offline. Was this app developed in an after school coding program for Jr High kids in the valley? This is actually a joke right? Like, at some point do I receive a push notification saying, “the devs were just having a laugh, here’s a link to the real app, that actually works” or no?

Really needs toggle on/off option for quick actions and shortcuts. The quick actions and shortcuts don’t allow you to toggle a light on if it is off or off if it is on. This means tediously having to creative on and off versions and running out of space for quick actions on the widgets, or shortcuts on home screens. In short time using v2 app have hit some stability issues, e.g. Widget is failing to launch app when I select to add a quick action from the widget (although it can be done if you launch app yourself and can find quick actions). Update: shortcuts/quick actions are not controlling all the selected bulbs (maybe only newer generation ones?) and cause them to gray out until app restart? On off from room control? Since only the few newer bulbs have the SpaceSense (which wasn’t mentioned in the constant nagging to upgrade to app v2) this new app doesn’t seem to have been appropriately tested and appears to be a downgrade from the v1 app.

So bad I had to reinstall the old app.. I’ve tried getting used to the new controls and set up, but my area often experiences power outages which basically resets my lights and loses connection. The set up is infuriating and inconsistent. And it hurts my eyes when the process takes over 5 minutes to set up, while the lights are blinking repeatedly. So I decide to reinstall the old version, which fortunately still exists. Within a MINUTE, my lights are set up perfectly. No issues, no long wait times, just a simple click and done. Don’t bother with this new app. It’s not worth the trouble and becomes a waste of time. I don’t know what it is these days about companies ruining perfectly fine features for the sake of “customer experience” when they just make it worse! If it isn’t broken, it doesn’t need fixing or improvement.

Recent disappointment. UPDATE: my app started working again for maybe a week and then all of my lightbulbs say they are unreachable and any attempts to re pair them have been unsuccessful, when i tried to use the chatbot "help service" it told me to use self help and considered its job done if i could change my rating to a zero or a negative number at this point i would When i first started using the app and these bulbs i was super excited and they worked with almost no problems, but recently my app lags or doesnt work at all and tells me some "unknown problem ocurred". Its making the bulbs and app almost unusable and ive had to go through my alexa app just to keep using them in any capacity. Im super disappointed about this and hope they can fix it soon so i dont have to switch out the brand of bulbs for my whole home just to use them

Weird glitches in app makes it hard to use. I have it set to be on “daylight” every time I turn it on for a reason, well all of a sudden it hs been changing to this light yellow/warm light. I haven’t changed the settings and I’m unable to fix this problem, it’s really irritating. I try to change it back to daylight but a few seconds later - back to dingy warm yellow. Whatsup with that :( and sometimes when I go on the app, I can’t go into any other tab, it always forces me to go back to “automation”. I literally don’t want to do anything in automation at the moment, why is it forcing me to stay on that tab?? All these problems are recent, maybe a week. I haven’t changed anything in the app so I’m not sure why I’m having these issues all of a sudden :(

Don’t waste your $$$. UPDATE: Not only does the app not work, but support is nonexistent. You can’t just tell every individual person who is having issues with the app - which appears to be everyone who has used it - to contact support individually. It is completely apparent that the app is total crappola and these problems are not cases of user error or faulty home WiFi setups. When I asked who whom I could contact about reimbursement for my now unusable bulbs, I was completely ignored. Someone should start a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer for this. The original wiz app had its problems, but it worked well enough that I was satisfied with my purchase of the accompanying smart bulb. Satisfied enough that I replaced numerous bulbs throughout my home with them. Slowly but surely the apps glitches got worse. Then they come out with a new app that not only didn’t fix the glitches, but was even less user-friendly than the original. 90 percent of the time the lights are marked as “offline” in the app. 10 percent of the time I’m randomly able to control a random assortment (but never all) of the lights. I feel completely swindled, but Philips clearly has no interest in customer satisfaction, so I’ll just toss these now useless bulbs and take the L.

Need to restart app every time I want to control my lights. Every time I use this app to control my lights, it shows my lights as off-line. I have to restart the app EVERY time I need to use it, so it can find my lights. EVERY SINGLE TIME! Restarting the app works, but I shouldn’t have to do that every time I try to turn on or off my lights. Very frustrating! My son used to use this app with these lights and he was so frustrated. He switched to Philips Hue. I have not made the switch yet but most likely will because this is ridiculous. If anyone has any ideas on why this is doing this, please let me know so I can fix settings or something? I want to like this app. I like the idea and the lights.

New app doesn’t know itself. I had the legacy app, and it worked. But now I’ve been forced to upgrade. The app only recognizes one light. So I search help to “add a light” and it tells me to choose the room and the choose the “group”. Well, there is no group. I only have one light signed on for this room, and that’s not reading as a group. Can we only have one light per room? I’ve tried again and again to follow the instructions to add my bedside lamp, but the directions are clearly not up to date. They tell me to hit choices that aren’t there. This is my BEDROOM and I can’t turn this light on. Well, I can using the old-fashioned switch, but it only comes on big and bright. There’s no way to control it. My advice: don’t buy Wiz lights. It’s just a waste. Life is too short. Go buy a normal lightbulb off the light quality you plan to use the most and leave tech out of it.

EDIT 2023•12•11 New Version = STILL Crap. THIS UPDATE IS STILL CRAP. DEC 11, 2023 I have to completing close the app in order for it to pick up the 1/5 lights in my house that still work after this bogus release. The original app prior to this worked better. This one adds several steps in order to make the light do the same thing as it did with up to half of the taps as on the previous version. Still thumbs down. ORIGINAL COMPLAINT: Crap release. Disconnects from my set "home" by itself. I have to uninstall this app and then reinstall, re-sign in, and re-set some settings that would've otherwise stayed set if I didn't have to uninstall the app in the first place. Frustrating. Very. VERY frustrating. Will happily revise my review after wiz fixes this crap.

Worse the V1. After the release of V2 I can no longer use my virtual assistant (Google Home) to turn on my lights. I have other lights, (using Geeni) and they work fine 100% of the time. My Wiz V2 lights turn on about 1/10 times. The other times I’m met with the response “Sorry it looks like your light isn’t available right now” (3x). I’m able to open the Wiz V2 app and after about 30 seconds the light finally connects and will allow me to turn it on or off. But my virtual assistant can’t contact the all to do it at all so it has became worthless to me. I would recommend smart lights that all use the same “hub” app and finding bulbs that use Geeni or Phillips Hue rather than Wiz. I will not purchase another Wiz product.

Worst than the first!!!. You get locked into a set up screen that will drain your battery on your phone for hours because it can’t think quickly. Does it come up with a problem at the bottom of the screen and you can’t swipe to get the solution? Absolutely it will just sit there and mock you and tell you that it knows your problem but it has your money so you can go get bent. I have never in my life dealt with a more incompetent company than this one. And I was warned not to go for the cheap version. I’ve lost so much time and effort and money just tried to solve the problems that these people have created and then they don’t even know how to build the app so you can get proper technical support. Seriously these are the worst. Run from these people they have no idea what they’re doing.

New wiz app does not work with alexia. I will now have to go out and spend more money on bulbs that do not have to be set up with the wiz app. The original wiz app was great I hooked up my lights and connected it to my Alexa so all I had to do was say alexia turn on lights we have a lamp in our living room you can not reach as it’s in a corner behind sectional couch and it was great being able to turn light on and off and now I can no longer do this as the app is not working with alexa. I would put the old wiz app back onto my phone but it no longer will work for me. Why did you change apps or why jot leave old app up for those of us who already were happy with how it worked. Now like I said I have to go spend more money on all new lights that use a different app.

Useless. Where do you want the review to begin-first of all your going to force people onto an app that is nothing but problems. It’s a pain to link multiple phones to the app to control a house. Let’s now move on to the biggest issues-the app is telling me lights are on that are off and has us constantly checking those rooms. Or it won’t connect to lights that are on to turn off. I should have to worry if the light in my toddler’s bedroom is on yet I do because the app is faulty. Other issues is it won’t turn off our lights or connect to the lights in my bedroom. I have to keep resetting the app to get it to connect. As I read reviews I see I am not the only one with these issues yet you act like it’s user error when it’s clearly not. Why release an app and give people to use it when it isn’t even working half the time. FIX IT then have people use it. It’s obvious it NEVER got tested before it was rolled out onto users. And the biggest questions-why fix something that’s NOT broken and working great?

Worse than previous Version. I have been using WIZ for a couple of years now for our bedroom lights. Our bedroom doesn’t have any overhead lights so we have to use lamps, making this the most convenient options. I have them connected to my google hub for quick voice commands and I have this app. I used the previous version with virtually no issues. It rarely displayed that there wasn’t a connection or glitched out. I cannot say the same about this new app. Nearly every time I open it my lights aren’t displaying as registered and I get the error that my lights aren’t on when they clearly are. For example, I just opened and closed the app 5 times before it displayed my lights were on-before I could adjust. I don’t like the new setup either, it feels way more difficult to navigate than in the previous version. I was excited to try this new version and it’s been a big let down. There’s no point in having these lights if I can’t actually use them with the app, or even through my google hub. I just receive error after error that there was an issue and lack a connection (even sometimes when I am in the middle of adjusting brightness and color). Please fix these issues with the app so it’s actually functional.

Not bad at all. I am a newer Wiz user and have only used this V2 version. I will say that it takes a sec to figure out where everting is and how to get started, but once it’s up and running I haven’t had much of a problem. I use the app, Alexa, and I have also connected several remotes, and besides Alexa not understanding many of the mood commands (like party, tv time, etc.) the system works pretty well. I just hope this company continues to update the app and make products since I have about 500 bucks invested in lightbulbs!

Both non intuitive and unstable. Want to create a group and add lights to it? Good luck finding it - you have to be in a room - and then you can only select lights in that room for the group. Do you need to remove a light from a group or room? Good luck. Extremely non-intuitive. Add to this the entire system when paired with Philip’s lights is unstable. Lights go off line and it’s near impossible to reset them, many times lights are unresponsive and cannot be controlled and frequently a light shows up as ready to pair that I’ve already paired and errors out during the process creating a zombie. I’d say if you have two or three lights at most this app and lights are probably ok. But if you need to do a whole house lighting system, invest in a better quality system that uses a hub.

Horrible App. Constantly getting “Unable To Control” message when trying to adjust a light. Randomly lights show Off but are in fact On. If you lose internet connection or restart your router you have to manually add each bulb again to be able to control them. Sometimes when adding a new bulb, it is instantly detected but you get stuck on pairing the bulb to wifi until the bulb is no longer in pairing mode and have to start over. Every update to this app never fixes a single issue. Read your reviews! So many customers have problems yet nothing gets fixed. The first app had almost zero issues. Updating to V2 was the worst choice I’ve made. There’s definitely a lot of great results but unfortunately this app rarely works when you need it to.

Needs some work. Been using wiz lights for about 2 years now and just moved into a new place and saw that they have a new app version so decided to give it a go. Many bugs seem to be present, app is super glitchy, says my lights aren’t on when they most definitely are, simple turning off and on again seems to fix the issue. App is a big more confusing that v1, and also does not seem as user friendly, lights turning on in the middle of the night, just seems a bit messy. Hoping they fix a lot of the bugs soon. Lights are great and we’re great on the old app, just needs some fine tuning.

months in, I still am sticking to original app. it still works better lol. months in, I still am sticking to original app. it still works better lol I was going to give the new one a try at some point if the app devs got their act together but I can see from the recent reviews they are still ignoring the elephant in the room and gaslighting their own customers pretending all is well. so, I can continue using the original version 1 app. why? because it STILL works better after a year observing the lack of improvement on this what appears to be train wreck new version. devs. take it personal. i mean it. you should. i cant tell you how many reviews ive read saying this simple request: DO BETTER! until you do, stop insulting our intelligence and at least admit this version needs drastic improvements before telling people to leave the original app which still works far better technically.

Tired of the owner lockout. After switching from the original WiZ app to V2, we have had nothing but issues. Most annoyingly is that I am the primary Owner. I then go through the steps to create a profile for my wife, share it with her and then everything is good for 2-4 days. Then when I go into the app to turn on or off lights, all my rooms I have setup(which the setup process is impossible at time) then grey out and it tells me that the owner has changed my accessibility or whatever. Go to my wife’s phone to access the app(who is set to owner as well) and then it does the same thing to her. Have to delete both setups on the phones, start the process all over and sometimes when trying to setup the bulbs, it will fail on finding the bulbs for 4-6 hours. I have to wait a day or 2 before WiZ v2 will FINALLY find the bulbs and let me add them back into my rooms. And yes, rooms. I have multiple rooms setup with this app and I have to go through the whole process each time this happens. And why are you guys limiting what settings I am able to set to the 4 quick buttons? I like having Night Light, Day Light and TV Time as easy access and I can only choose 2 of those for the easy access buttons. There is just so much wrong with this app. Please bring back the old app. This one is horrid. Oh and to boot, if you download the old app, that’s still able to be downloaded from the App Store, it just crashes out so you can’t use it.

Way to ruin a perfectly app. Adding a new lightbulb went from being a seamless process that my grandmother could do to a pile of nonsensical process. The new app does not even identify what wifi the cell is connected to so I need to type the name of my router by hand along with the password. I don’t know you guys but you had something that work well and was a easy as connecting AirPods to my iPhone to something that resembles trying to come out with a workaround inside a Linux distro from the 90’s. I’m a big time geek and seeing other fellow programmers ruining an app for the sake of giving a refresh just makes me really frustrating. Older people could not figure something like this out. I wouldn’t buy it for my parents and then have to deal with all the connectivity issues for them. A good product works seamlessly and effortlessly. The process of adding a new lightbulb is neither of them in this app.

Wish I knew before I updated to v2. In the previous version I had it all set up how I liked its. I had it set up so I could use my Siri and Apple home to control my lights with a simple Apple shortcut and/or Siri command to change scenes of my lights and with the use of my HomePod I could even control the lights after I left the house incase I might have left a light on. I hope those features can be sort it out and incorporated back into the current version because it was wonderful. At the moment I have to open my phone and the app just to do anything, at this point I might as well start having to get up and use the light switch again or have to look into buying new smart bulbs that have the features I enjoyed o. The previous version of this app

Major downgrade. This new app is atrocious! I have to try opening it at least 5 times every time i need to change my lights, because every time i open it, it crashes and just shuts down. The user experience is frustrating and not simple like the old version. And most of the time it makes me do my changes like just turning off the lights more than once. Also took 3 attempts to just set my lights back up. Would rather the old app but cant use anymore. Why create a completely new app instead of just doing upgrades on the original which worked great with very few issues? I unfortunately don’t have anything i prefer on this new version compared to the original.

Terrible - no support for Google. I’ve spent a good couple hours trying to sort this app after previously having the V1. V1 worked fine and had it setup with Google home though last couple months the lights flickered and didn’t go to the desired dimness/warm setting which was annoying. Saw that the V2 app had been put on the App Store and annoyingly couldn’t import my existing home so had to reconnect the 3 lights in the apartment - all manually. So successfully setups new home in the V2 app and then I just wanted to sort it with Google home. Wow what a joke this is - you go to Google home and Wiz V2 isn’t supported. You click “Wiz” and it takes you to the V1 app which now crashes immediately and cannot link (if installed). If you only have V2 installed it doesn’t know what app to open and prompts you to download V2. The Google Home connectivity expects a 6 digit pin to connect to Wiz which isn’t apparent in the V2 app. So yeah I now have lights that dim and are controllable through this app but now they are no longer integrated to google. I will not be buying any more Wiz products and special shout out to the support “Meeraa” who was useless in assisting with the matter. Directing people to check a different app that crashes upon entry is not helpful. What an absolute joke - you don’t make a new app and force people’s hands to download it without having key functionality as sold on the product info pages. These products do not work with Google.

Widget. Widget should not open app when a quick control is tapped. Currently when turning off and on lights from a widget, the wiz v2 app is opened afterwards, which defeats the purpose of a quick touch button.

Don’t waste your money. This app is rubbish. The lights don’t connect and the buttons in the app do nothing!

Absolutely Terrible. If you want an app where none of the buttons/services work this is the app for you. Original version worked perfectly and they migrated people to the new version. Migration failure meant globe was ‘offline’. 🤬 End result is I had remove all apps, recreate accounts, recreate all IFTTT integrations and still can’t use the new app.

Waste of time if you don’t have a wifi router. If you aren’t connected to a wifi router the app will not connect to any globes, even via bluetooth ! It must have wifi router access , so no good if you don’t have one as is my case.

Glitches. Glitches.. I wish I could get this app to work. For months I have been getting “unknown error occurred”.

Disappointing Mess V1.3.0. Despite the negative reviews I decided to give this “V2” app a chance, to my disappointment it lived up to the hype in the previous reviews. The layout of the app is confusing, nothing seems to be logically organised and it takes a lot of clicking to eventually find the setting you were looking for. Trying to create a custom circadian rhythm with custom colours and brightness but every time I try to save the brightness just reverts back to what it was previously. Updating the time for the rhythm change doesn’t happen in real time so when you adjust it in the app the expected result isn’t seen on the bulb. I hope there are some big improvements in the pipeline as this version of the app is not user friendly or enjoyable to use. I am a big fan of the physical product and planned to purchase more but not with a control app in this broken state.

Yeah disappointing. The original Wiz app was fine, and honestly this new app’s interface looks nice… but it’s very buggy and I am now unable to set up a singular light bulb on either app. Manual setup is confusing and auto setup simply doesn’t work, just says ‘connecting’ and no result

Works well and app is intuitive. I hadn’t seen the reviews until I bought the bulbs. Only issue was connecting to the router during initial setup. I moved the bulb into the same room as the router and it connected immediately. Then I moved them into different rooms and everything works well. The app is intuitive too.

Terrible. I updated recently after being printed by WIZ. My lights no longer work with Siri. Even their support services can’t work it out. If my housemate turns off a light it doesn’t update the status on my app and when I try to turn off the same light, because it shows as “on” in my app, it tells me that light is offline. It’s horrendous and when coming here to review I saw it for years old! Why was I prompted to move from grout five star app to a four year old one with terrible reviews? I wish I’d read first. Honestly, with this app you’re better off sticking to regular light bulbs and using switches. If I could give it negative stars I would.

Wiz. Older version worked great new version states offline, not a good option, need to improve the software

Absolute Rubbish. This app is so bad that it’s even worse than the old one, errors connecting to cloud and Apple Shortcuts or lack of integration with Apple is horrendous. Your lights are most definitely on my to avoid list!

Easiest way is to sign in to new Wiz App through Apple sign-in. If coming from Wiz V1 App, Just sign in to new Wiz V2 App through Apple sign-in (if you have an Apple device) & all will be transferred. Just click on the Apple sign, do not click on manual migration. Don’t need any codes, the available instructions are very bad & confusing. Actually don’t need to manually transfer anything, it does it all for you. If Wiz V1 app is crashing on opening & you want it back, just turn off device & turn back on & it will work.

Worth the switch over. Migrated over despite some negative reviews. Haven’t had any issues with so far and finding the usability of this version 100x better. No more failed connections with globes either.

downhill. Used to be great. Even after migration. Now? Unknown error over and over. Useless. We were going to buy more globes. Not happening now.

Works fine for new users. Looking at all these terrible reviews it looks like the migration from v1 to v2 is what messed people up. I recently moved my whole house to these lights (from Arlec) and it’s been fine. Wiz have the best range of lights to suit my needs (white colour adjusting Edison bulbs in particular). Would be good if the widget switched the lights without opening the app, but apart from that I’ve had no issues.

V1 vs v2. I find the new app less intuitive with more clicks required to achieve the same outcome. Looks great but sacrifices ease of use

Zero stars not possible. This “update” is full of bugs and constantly crashes. I actually ended up spending $50 on a remote so that I don’t have to even open the app. Some of the many issues that have been persistent since we were forced to change to this version: - forgets user so that when you open the app, you have to set up a new home from scratch. - does not remember saved profiles. - cannot set up circadian rhythm at all. I notice above that the developers have already made “significant improvements”. Nothing has changed. Someone is not doing their job. Even the self-help system on the app is broken, for goodness sake! Delete this app and start again. I’ve never encountered a bigger failure in my life!

Continuing errors. Always states that an error has occurred and to please try again. “Unknown issue occurred. Something went wrong, please try again”. Keep having to shut down app and restart. Even this doesn’t often fix the issue. It’s virtually unusable. Very annoyed. So much promise.

Really Bad. I had no issue setting up the app and connecting the light. The new app doesn’t seem to have the nightlight function and looked way more difficult to use. Went back to the old app. Works just fine.

Great Product but V2 App Needs Work. I've tried many different brands in my home and I still believe the WiZ product is the best. There are a few reasons why I think it's a better product than most, but one of the main reasons is that when I walk into a room, I can open the app and hit the ON button and 98% of the time, the lights come on right away. Sounds silly, but if it takes more than a couple of seconds, I'd rather just use the light switch all the time. Almost every other brand I've tried in the same setup took too long, but the WiZ product has always been spot on. So now the not so positive part. Im not new to these products or apps, im qualified in networking and pretty good with tech... so if I have to contact tech support for help, it means something isn't as easy as it should be. I tried migrating to V2 at least a couple of times and I encountered similar issues to most other people here. I tried sticking at it to work through the bugs and even contacted tech support (who did their best to help) but in the end, I just wanted to be able to turn on my lights like I used to. Using v2, the lights no longer turned on right away like they did with v1 app. It doesn't make sense to me as to why and I'd be the first to say it's a network issue, but after going back to v1, everything worked perfectly again and the lights responded like the WiZ product I love. One last point and I mean this sincerely... if you reply to this, can I suggest that you don't ask me to contact tech support. It doesn't sound good when someone says they contacted tech support and didn't have any luck and then you ask them to contact tech support. Instead, maybe mention whats changed and give anyone reading this a reason to try V2 again. WiZ really is a great product.

Works really well. I bought one to turn my heater on and off from being in bed because I have a disability. It works really well and has been a lifesaver.

Keep the old app. I was excited to learn of an upgraded app. Sadly this version is so full of glitches that after many months of perseverance, I have reverted to the previous app. I can’t understand why the company would risk it’s reputation releasing this version…. UPDATE Gave the developers a few months and made the mistake of trying this new version again. Don’t do it!!! Especially if you have to undergo the extraordinarily painful task that setting up new Wifi is with Wiz. (Sonos and Swann Security make it easy.) *An hour on and still trying to connect lightbulbs *

Worst app. Makes all the wiz globes and adapter useless. The old app worked perfect but now has become useless. Don't wast your time

rubbish. Function is not available, my house lights system total error , don’t spend money on this s

Work smoothly with version 2. I was skeptical with this version due to previous bad reviews. But the feature I am looking which is to time the move sensor ( just work at night) is not available in version 1. After migrating to version 2 ( just by sign in to google) everything went very smooth no problem at all. The sensor which in version 1 has reliability problem now work consistently with schedule time. Remote control now can control more than one rooms/devices. Overall look is much better. Quite happy now.

Automation/ scheduled timing not working. Automation/ scheduled timing no longer working after software update

App is over complicated. Why take an app that works and version upgrade to something useless, over complicated and that doesn’t work. I won’t be buying Wiz’s products again. The company is clearly run by stupidity.

Rubbish. This app update is complete rubbish. Constantly getting logged out and needing to log back into app, Google home integration has stopped working. There was nothing wrong with the previous version. If you have just purchased a device that runs on the WIZ app, return it while you still can. Message to developer- I’m not interested or have time to contact support. In mine and others reviews are the many issues of this app. Just fix them.

Hopeless.. After about 2 hours of wasted time I hade deleted and continue to use the old app. Lucky I didn’t delete the old one. Very unprofessional deployment. If you can’t download the old app don’t buy the product Integration g to the new app should be seamless!!! Just saying….

Buggy. Worked fine for a month and then it couldnt detect my lights anymore. Tried reconnecting a few times but keeps showing that the lights are offline even after successfully connecting them, very strange bug with broadcast udp error. Update: worked on the older wiz app, this app is a joke. I still get the udp error on this new app when i tried it again. No issues with the older app.

Stay with the original app !. “Migrating” to Wiz V2 completely ruined my schedule for all my lights, the schedules are still present but the lights no longer stick to it, have even tried setting the times for each light again but they still turn on and off at odd times Have since rolled back to the original Wiz app only to find this didn’t fix the schedules problem, even attempted the remedies noted above with the original wiz app but the lights still do as they please…

Horrible. Would be great if the functionality to actually paid the bulbs through the app worked. All I get is “Device found” and when pressing the button, just get a grey action with nothing else happening.

What is wrong with your app?. How does it not work with the lights every other week? Seriously….I think I’ve had enough is this app. Now guys, can you make sure this app works 100% instead of this rubbish?

Timing on schedules is way out. I tried to set a couple of different schedules with 2 lights in my room. Both times only 1 light turned on. One went off over an hour early that woke me up at 5am and I had to get up to turn it off manually. Another went off two minutes early and then another one of my lights turned on for no reason during the day. How hard can it be to sync a clock in an app? Otherwise the connectivity seems to be improving, very buggy with one light turning on and the other turns off. Was hoping the new app would fix it but seems like the same problems with a different UI

+ add light is not working. I can add any light into the app without going to the old one and add it from there you guys need to fix this

Why change?. The older app (Legacy) was far superior in almost every way. I’ve had a much better experience with the older version of the app, changing colours was simple, descriptions on the shades adjuster were helpful but also absent on this newest app which is quite tedious to implement and navigate. Please update this new app to reflect the issues above…

Terrible and unreliable. In the wise words of Regurgitator “ I like your old stuff better than your new stuff” As I had been using the previous app with ZERO issues. Simple and issue free and the widget was awesome! The update? Automations ensure specific switches go on and off at specific times to ensure my working day begins without a hitch, but a need to make a single day change has left me perplexed as to how to set it and keep it set as an error continually pops up. If the app has been opened and set to the background for a moment it has a fit refuses to make the change when it’s brought back to the foreground. But even shutting down the app and restarting it does not always mend the problem. I’m not fond of the grouping of the rooms to narrow selections down when there are so many to sort through to make a change to one light. Daylight savings is here and I can’t change my light and switch sequence.

Cannot connect in app. App doesn’t appear to be properly developed/working. Please help!. Cannot connect in app. App doesn’t appear to be properly developed/working. Please help! I have downloaded it multiple times and when it comes up saying “search for light” I click the button but nothing happens. Light is on and next to wifi router. Please help.

Can’t add new bulbs. App detect new devices but when I click on start pairing nothing happens. Every time I need to pair new devices I have to download old app as it works fine. Please fix this issue thanks

User experience is terrible. I’ve had trouble with Wiz lights ever since first buying them. Sometimes they just stop pairing and then they no longer work. The app change from Legacy to v2 has been even harder. I think they legacy version was better

Buggy. App keeps navigating to “Automation” Page, whatever I do.

Mud. This app is mud

Terrible new app wont work. New app wont connect to any of the devices even those installed days ago. Smart function doesn't work, wont detect the devices even when right under the lights (x3). Manual pairing wont work either. Apple device. Google nest mesh network. Old app worked flawlessly every time, this new app = nothing. Needs work. Going back to the original.

Complex. This new app is a terrible change from the original wiz app. It is a significant move backwards. Weird features have been prioritised over the basic functions and user interface like simply turning lights on and off. It would be great if you can make available the original app again. It worked. You really need to get this fixed. I will never buy wiz again and will replace my existing lights with a new platform with a friendly user interface.

App is disappointing to say the least. This app is so glitchy and horrible, can’t even use the app to edit my lights, always comes up with unknown error occurred

New app. I love the light and while it does function, it takes a lot to make it work. The app always says “Unknown issue occurred. Something went wrong, please try again” after every single action I try to do. I end up having to enter and exit the app multiple times before it works. I don’t know if this is something just with my system but it works alright. Hoping for the system to be fixed soon :)

Terrible. I have been trying for 2 weeks to get this app to function properly. Some of the buttons on the app do not work.

App late respond. Very late respond. Sometimes doesn't work.

V2 doesn’t support iPad directly. Gee. What a great upgrade dropping device support is!

No voice control. Why can’t I get it to connect with siri? What’s the point of having smart bulb if I can’t use voice control ?

Cant join a home. Cant join my husband home even if I was invited in the previous app

Worst update. I have had these bulbs for about 4 years. I loved the previous app version. Never had an issue. Now that I was forced to upgrade to the new version I am unable to connect my bulbs to groups and I cannot use my Alexa to control the lights. They really dropped the ball with this “upgrade”

Broken app. I am very disappointed in the new app. The previous app worked perfect. The new version keeps switching back to the automation screen and I have no control over my lights. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail. I even tried going to settings or any other function of the app but it keeps switching back to automation. I recommend to stick with the previous app. This version is terrible.

New app doesn’t work at all. My lights all worked great until the new app. Now their useles and a waste now. Using normal lights thanks to this very buggy app.

Literally the worst. Do not buy this product or install app. Super hoakie with location service and will require access to your wifi, In order to connect with random servers.

this app is terrible. this is such a bad app compared to the original, why has it been changed. Super not user friendly and now requires so many extra steps

hard to use. The app is not very user friendly & hard to use. the older & simplified version was a lot easier to navigate & use

Usage. C’est à une utilisation sur une période plus longue que je pourrai accréditer une cinquième étoile à ce produit.

Poor transition. This was a horrible new app. It said that it would be a seamless transition and I couldn’t get them to work ended up throwing the bulbs away..

constantly broken. i’ve had lights in my basement that i haven’t been able to use with this app since they forced us to make the switch to the new app. the amount of times i’ve seen “unknown error occurred” is ridiculous, i can’t even connect my new lights without getting sent to a blank screen or seeing that god damn message. i recommend using any other kind of smart lights cuz this just doesn’t work at all.

Can’t sign in. Having issues getting all my lights

Bad.. Won’t even let me connect to a light. So now I have a regular lightbulb for $15 lol don’t buy lights or download app.

Worst app. Cant add my lights to this new thing 🤬

Programmation de lumière. J’adore tout les programmations qu’on peux effectuer. Bravo

Don’t download the update!!. Don’t download this terrible app if you like the features of the colour change lightbulb. This app doesn’t let you change the colours with a schedule and it’s super confusing to set up anything with the wiz lightbulbs. This app is just crowded and impossible to navigate. Keep the original version of the app as long as you can!

Uninstalled - can’t sync with Google home. The v2 app doesn’t have the code to sync to Google Home

Stay away from this garbage. Migrating is a whole other issue. Tgere is no defined way to put your settings back or even back onto the fkn internet. Just changed my wifi and ive lost all remote control and NO way to put them back on the internet. Id give them negative stars if I could. HORRIBLE

Unknown issued occurred. Every time I try using the app I get a message saying unknown issue occurred please try again. I have to close the app and try again a few times and even when it finally works the message still appears. App was fine until last monthish.

Old App was Better. This new app makes it so much more confusing and difficult to do what you want. The old one was so easy to use, just click the room, and you could change the bulb light with ease and adjust the strength. Now I have to click the room, find the option to select a lighting option that isn’t in my quick list, click there area to choose which lighting I’d like then from there I can choose and dim. Why can’t I just dim when I click on the room now? Bring back the old app. It’s clear there’s more issues than positives

Can’t pair lights or switch. Absolutely useless lights so far. Have had for 3 weeks, had two visits by electricians to try and pair the lights and had no success. App is no help. Customer support has been no help. Old legacy app won’t work. I wouldn’t buy. Electrician highly recommends using Lutron.

I would try a different app... Every time I make a change to my lighting, I get a “something went wrong”.. sometimes it does what it’s supposed to, other times it won’t do a thing.. once I tried removing an automation I had created for the plant light setting.. it doesn’t delete it, and keeps carrying on the automation.

Lacklustre at best. Boy do I miss the original app. It’s a clean interface but annoying to hit the toggles for each room - more often than not it opens the full menu for me rather than just switching the toggle. My biggest complaint is the apparent disconnections that my devices now have with this app; tonight I only had one room showing as available (one bulb) and the rest were offline - I often get one or two rooms/bulbs but never my whole house. Furthermore, lights are slow to respond. I have some of the newer version bulbs, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Among the features we need include moving bulbs between rooms.

Can’t integrate to Alexa. Old app could connect to Alexa but the new one has some bug.

Avoid. Purchased many wiz products hooked up to app fine. Tried connecting to Alexa and nothing. Reviews say the same thing. They will probably tell me to contact customer support which I have spent hours with only for them to repeatedly tell me to follow the same steps which are already listed on “how to integrate with Alexa” . I have tried 5 million times and no one will help. The worst is the chat box where the rep asks a question and disappears for 30 min to come back and ask another question

Worse app. Looks all fancy now but functionality is worse. It takes 4 taps now just to change the warmth of light. Before it was a single slider. Now it’s buried under many pages. Also changing brightness is very glitchy and hard to adjust without you over or undershooting your intent.

Worst smart accessory app. Oh man where do I even start. Pairing process is painful, the app is unresponsive, took ages to “find” my device, poor UI, seemingly no QA testing. 2 days ago this app got an update. Now my devices are listed as “currently offline”. I’m prompted to check settings to fix this. There is no option in settings to fix this. Great! Trying to re-pair my device also not working. The “+” icon in the top right to begin the pairing flow is not responding. What an absolute joke of an experience.

Technical difficulties. Reduce the loading time

New App. Terrible and not user friendly I deleted the app and reinstalled the original and it works great I think the developers need to look at the old app and follow that to fix and make the new app user friendly

Connection. Most times when I open the app the lights are unavailable and I have to switch them on and off a few times for them to work

User friendliness. Not user friendly unlike the version before. I’ve been trying to connect my bulb but it really won’t work.

Garbage app. V1 app stopped responding to my lights so I tried to connect my light on the v2 app and after several tries, nothing has worked.

Unable to have more than one user. Downloaded this new version. It does not allow to have more than one account connected or one permanent user.

Previous WIZ app is much better. I have to say I was very disappointed with the new version of the WIZ app. It has a much less intuitive layout than the previous version. I finally gave up on it and reinstalled the old version, and that’s where I intend to stay. Or at least until there’s a major upgrade that’s better than this. If they force an upgrade to v2 I’ll just have to replace all my devices with something from a competitor, or go back to dumb devices. Sometimes simpler is better.

Non functional. V1 app stopped working, V2 app unable connect. All I wanted was a dimmable lightbulb and now it’s unusable because of whatever update. Time to go install a regular dimmer and never buy from wizz again.

Absolutely garbage. What a pointless useless app. I give up…I’ll make sure to read the instructions closer next time. Do not buy WiZ connect Phillips…make sure it’s HUE.

Tiny interface on iPad. The old Wiz app properly adapted to use a full screen on ipad but the new one has a tiny phone-screen shaped interface in the middle of a mostly blank iPad screen. I use ipad to control my smart home, as many households do, and the lack of a proper, full sized tablet interface is lame. Still using the old app for this reason. Very disappointed.

My smart plugs no longer work. In the old app my Wiz smart plugs were working perfectly. Since the release of this new app, I constantly get a message indicating the devices are unresponsive. Additionally it appears as though the UI is geared towards bulbs and no other devices…? Very odd. I really hope these issues are addressed soon. This sucks.

Garbage. Original app was way better… this is complete garbage, amateur at best% Too bad

Wiz lights app. Been on this app for 20 mins need to change a time schedule …do you think I can find it ….nope !

The least intuitive app I’ve ever used. I literally hate this app. I can never find or do anything on it. The old one was so much easier to use. If I didn’t have 3 bulbs I’d just go buy a different brand.

Vacation Mode. Where is it? It was on the old app and we used it when not home. I’ve looked every and it’s nowhere to be found on the new app. It’s taken me a few days to get used to this app. Still prefer the old one which my husband still uses.

Garbage. I was never able to connect to the light bulb with it. Returned and deleted the app.

Do not use. This app took a working setup on the old app and made it nonfunctional. Basically just wasted money now, not sure how this passed any kind of internal review. DO NOT USE THIS APP. I would look elsewhere for lights, a little disappointed I can’t give this 0 stars

Wiz Alexa skill manual integration. Login to Amazon skills from browser (Wiz integration from Alexa app is not working) and complete the manual integration. Copy the code from wiz app and complete the linking process.

Stick to old app. After trying this app I’m uninstalling and returning to the previous Wiz app. As other reviewers have mentioned this lacks quick precise room control. For example the previous app you could select a room and switch between a circadian rhythm and a simple or dynamic light setting quickly. In the new app it feels like the company purchased a library of widgets and controls and then told the developers that they get paid by the control and UI page.

Issues with Matter integration. I have Philips Wiz Connected light bulbs manufactured after Q2 2021 that show up in the Wiz V2 app as Matter compatible. However, when I try to configure Matter integration by clicking Configure, I get an error message that says to try again later. Tried many times at different moments. When I try to add the bulbs in Homekit, it cannot add them either with the QR code or numbers. Bummer.

Disfunction. The app is not working properly for last couple days

Won’t work. Doesn’t connect. Have downloaded twice and can’t connect

No Issues Migrating. Migrating from the V1 app. I had refrained from migrating to this app due to the very negative reviews from other users. Tonight though I thought why not give it a shot. No issues on my front. I was logged in with my Apple account in the v1 app so I was easily able to open the new app and migrate my lights over. After a short time (2-3 minutes) to sync things over I had no issues with the lights working. I use Shortcuts automations and these also were easy to change over to v2. I did need to create a couple scenes that I didn’t have to have before specifically for my automations but no big deal. One issue with the widgets though. When I just want to turn my lights on or off. After I tap the button in the widget it opens the app for some reason.

Wiz lights are persnickety - this app makes it worse. The new app is awful. Many of the menu items are unclickable - configuration of bulbs is painful and works and then stops and the troubleshooting part of the app is worthless. I spent hours configuring a few dozen wiz bulbs - had them working wok up the next day and only one room is available - tech support’s suggestion. Set them up again and again and again. Ugh

Would be great if it worked. The old app functioned as expected. With the new app, the automations I create only apply to one of the three lights in the group. I have to power cycle it through the app to get all three lights on. In trying to create three separate groups, the 2 other lights no longer connect to the app. Very frustrating.

Love progress. This app is getting better! I haven’t had a chance to open up two way feedback yet, but I love that they invite it. Matter is integrating for certain devices. As soon as I get a hub i’m in it. The app is slowly becoming more user friendly and functional and it’s really cool. Keep it up y’all.

Absolutely terrible worst app. So so terrible. Not only does the v1 of wiz stop working completely then I do the migration thing only for my lights to get a cannot connect error after the migration was complete. App is terrible and hard to control, I can’t even use the lights I paid for and it just won’t work in general for anything I do and nothing seems to fix it. Worst app ever worst lights I hope no one buys these lights from you all again if it mean this is the struggle they will have to endure. Truly disgusting app.

Frustrating to say the least. I’ve been using these lights for a while now with no real problems. Last night I changed the name of my WiFi and now half the lights won’t connect. I’ve gone as far as deleting my entire account and nothing seems to work. During set up when I’m having problems every other button works but the support button. The old app was so much better but it just crashes now.

Why ruin a good product with a bad privacy policy. Why would anyone willingly agree to the terms outlined in the user agreement? If you care about your privacy, be sure to read thoroughly or take the time necessary to do a little research. Request a copy of the the data that is being collected on you from the vendor or any other service you subscribe to (like your cell service provider). I guarantee it will be worth the 90 day wait period. The privacy policy should be disclosed on the product’s packaging prior to purchase.

Missing features and poor design. This app does not seem to allow you to turn on vacation mode - or at least it’s incredibly hard to find. This is such a useful an important feature I can’t understand why it’s not front and center. Doing things like putting bulbs into different groups and then separating them again takes far more clicks than it should. On the positive side, it is slightly easier than the old lap to select specific themes and colors.

Made simple things much more complex. You fixed something that wasn’t broken. The original app worked fine and was simple to use. The new app makes the user take more steps to do the same things. Initially it looks like a cleaner app, but the clean look is disguised by making it more complex to do simple things like turn a single light on, or see which lights are on in a room. It is now more onerous to even scroll through different rooms. WILL NOT BE USING THIS APP. No thank you. Please revert back to the original app design, this new one is NOT GOOD!!

Cumbersome. I found the old app was terribly inconsistent. Lights would go missing regularly, schedules wouldn’t work half the time. This version is worse in every way. Setting everything up again has been a terrible experience. I’m an hour in and still can’t get lights to work in the assigned room. Some work, others don’t. If you haven’t started buying into this system do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I may have to bite the bullet and start over.

Super glitchy. We’ve owned probably a dozen Wiz bulbs and remotes over two years, and everything—from setup to operation—is consistently glitchy. I’ve given them more than a fair try and have been more often than not disappointed. The times it works, the app is okay, though clunky. Otherwise, lights and remotes often won’t pair with the app; some lights won’t respond to commands or show as active in the app; and the app has dead ends and unknown errors. It’s a major disappointment, and I wish I hadn’t invested in this system.

NEW APP NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. I used to love WIZ but This new update doesn’t work!! Assuming it even finds the correct light (10% of the time) it then will not allow you to turn it back on. I also have about 11 notifications, but every time I click the bell or the notification symbol, there’s nothing there. I’m reinstalling the legacy app, this is ridiculous. AND THENN they get on here and reply to my review telling me to contact customer service. This is not a customer service issue, this is a coding issue, fix your app. And after reading all these reviews, I am not the only one.

Slight bugs. I started using Wiz lights around mid-shutdown, so like May 2020. Still use em today, but since the new app has come, I constantly the “unknown issue has occurred”, regardless how many times I reset the app, or power off and on the lights. They do change to the setting I want to get em in, but more times than none I have to close out and reinter the app.

Pairing a device. I had recently stopped paying for wifi and only have cellular data which I cannot use on my led’s since the led’s need wifi connected to work. I am not going to be paying money for something that I cant use since it is basically useless without wifi. Whats the whole point of having an app for led’s when you need wifi for it when you can have an control for it. I have yet not been able to use my led’s for the past 5 months, what a waste.

Much improved!. The lights have become much more responsive and fast in the past month or so. Notably, the Siri run shortcuts for running WizV2 scenes are faster than they’ve ever been in the several years I’ve been using the bulbs. Thank you!

New app is very un-intuitive. I rarely write reviews but this app has been frustrating enough that I feel the urge to. Why are there suddenly so many screens to navigate to to adjust light settings when there uses to be one simple screen? And why can’t I customize the quick control? Apparently quick actions is a whole separate menu than quick control? Why can’t I manually add a light to favorites? Why is quick actions, quick control, and favorites not all the same category? So confusing.

Miss the previous app. Nothing but issues, time & time again. Super slow to connect & respond. Used the previous app for years never had an issue. I waited a year or so to post this thinking maybe bug fixes would be released as time went on. Have loved my lightbulb & being able to control turning light on/off, plus setting the different colors. But thinking I should just toss it & switch to a different brand with a better more reliable app

Glitchy. Automation was great in the old App but the new features leave it glitchy where the lights are off when they should be on. Having to open the app daily defeats the point of the app/ bulbs. At this point I might as well buy something else. These use so much internet all day that it might as well buy something that doesn’t need internet.

No Go. I deleted this app and went back to the regular app that works perfectly. This app would not load the lights at all. I went to the help section for help and followed the instructions, still did not work. Spent hours working on this. I have homework to do, so I deleted il this app and my previous app…works flawlessly if not even faster than it did before. If your deciding to download this NEW UPDATED APP…don’t. Keep your version and just update the app. Have fun and good day.

Looks better but works worse. After upgrading to this new version, dimming the lights or turn them on or off some times is just impossible. Whenever performing an action an error message pops in the bottom and nothing happens, everytime this happens we have to close the app and reopen it, same thing happens to my wife’s cellphone. Adding a new device is also impossible had to download the old app to do it.

Miss the Old App. My husband and I have so much issues with this new app, whereas the old one was easy to use and navigate. This one is not only not intuitive, a lot of the time it doesn’t even respond and when I push “living room,” for example, I continually get an error message of “unable to operate”. This is really frustrating. Not sure why the app was redone but please consider reverting back as this one is full of issues.

Please Add Apple Watch Support. I have no incentive to keep purchasing new lamps if they are not as convenient as other brands. Please add an Apple Watch app so that I can use the watch to conveniently control the lights rather than having to open my phone and opening the app. Other than that, the app works great, I love how many settings there are for the color of the lamps.

Horrible, stay w v1. Reading other reviews at least some got their bulbs paired- mine won’t even do that. It just keeps cycling no matter how I try. Also can’t read half of the writing on the app bc it gets lost under control bars. For a well known, established company, this is embarrassing. I feel like I downloaded some punk app that is stealing all my data. I went back to the first version and re-paired without issue. Still isn’t great, I wouldn’t even say good, for an app but at least it’s usable. Fix this mess.

Do Not Buy. I bought a $17 lightbulb that as an LED is supposed to last forever… it’s been 2 years and it broke. It won’t pair with the app anymore. The company says they can’t replace it without a receipt. Not one person I know save’s lightbulb receipts! So essentially I spent $17 on a lightbulb that worked as marketed for 2 years. Now it’s just a normal warm white lightbulb that is useless for its original intent. I needed full spectrum daylight for my art studio… I will never buy another thing from this company again.

Unexpected excellence. I had passed by some smart lights at target and thought I would take a look for some Apple HomeKit products particularly from Phillips and ended up purchasing Phillips Smart lights with Wiz. Not only am I impressed with The hardware and it’s performance, but the app integration is exceptional at this price point. The privacy terms are as they should be, and it does not hold back any functionality. In fact, gives you more functionality than would be expected of a product in this price range. Extremely impressed. With some refinements of the application, interface and connectivity to get started, I would give five stars.

Not working with Alexa anymore. Looks like I’m not the only one having this issue … I switched over to V2 and my lights no longer connected with Alexa. I deleted everything redownloaded and reconnected my lights. All to no avail because Alexa will not work with them. In the Alexa app under skills Wiz v2 isn’t available maybe that’s why? I have the normal Wiz skill enabled but won’t work ☹️ I loved these lights until the update!

Scheduled events missing the basics. Totally disappointed that the Wiz App does not have the option for scheduling a lights ON or lights OFF event based on a sunrise or sunset time offset for the current time zone which the Wiz App is configured for. For example, turn the lights on 15 minutes after sunset or turn the lights off at sunrise. Not having this option means having to manually change the lights ON and lights OFF event times throughout the year as the sunrise and sunset times change. Something very basic for any light controlling app.

App control crashes. Had wiz lamps for more than a couple years and honestly had nothing to complain. However, since the new app (version 2) launched, the use of the old app was made impossible and the new one is definitely far from functional. In six months I had to reset the lamps for the eight time and again cannot get them to work without crashing. It’s been insane, whenever I really do want the lamps to work, I lose access and it’s an eternity to fix it.

New app is trash. Ever since they switched to this app there’s been nothing but issues. I’m constantly having to reconnect my lights to the app several times a day and they still only connect half the time. The company tries getting fancy for no reason and creates a garbage app when the old one worked fine. They care more about making the app look cool than providing actual functionality. It’s the biggest hassle. I’m getting lights from somewhere else. I’m completely over it.

Terrible app, annoying product. This app is completely worthless and seems not to have had any UX testing at all. It’s completely non-intuitive. The old one works better but even then, the bulbs are constantly disconnecting themselves from the system and then need to be reinstalled with great difficulty. If I weren’t so invested already by having multiple lamps throughout the house fitted with the bulbs, I would switch brands. Bad products all around.

Lights frequently lose connection. Every single day, lights fail yo connect to the app, for an ‘unknown’ reason. Only way to fix it is to quickly turn the light off then on, reload the app, then maybe it will work. Usually have to do this several times to get them to connect. Then, the next time you want to change the lights have to do it again. With the goal of not having to use the light switch, this issue pretty much eliminates that as a possibility.

This app didn’t need a V2. The old app was so simple easy to use and got the job done. This app literally makes everything much more difficult. I switched my wifi password and instead of being able to easily switch the light setup it took me 30min to figure out that I had to create a new room and manually pair my lights again. It’s gotten to a point to where I’m over these bulbs and am going to get different ones just so I don’t have to deal with this headache. It shouldn’t be this hard. Wiz whoever you hired to make this app really fooled you in the interview

Overall ok. The app is decent but what bothers me is you can’t have it rotate between two colors. You can select the Christmas color option and it’ll flip between red and green but I can’t select two colors (think red and blue for the 4th of July) and have it do the same thing for a customized look? Bummer.

Zero help. This has to be the worst designed app ever the previous one was also atrocious I own the led strip light find me that when I search for it oh wait they completely forgot they sell it and didn’t include it in either app and getting it connected to the app borderline impossible I actually forgot how utterly stupid it was until today where I had to reconnect it since I get a new wifi password 10/10 would never recommend this company

Terrible. First app had no issue go to download your new one can't connect any extra bulbs that I specifically bought for my porch and balcony. It doesn't find them and also it tells you to connect to the wiz wifi that doesn't even come up for me to connect to. Very frustrating and disappointed as I am left with just looking at plain white bulbs rather than being able to change them into colors and turning switch manually because of your sucky new app that doesn't work.

Automation is having a hard time. I only have 7 lights, one room of 3 on a group for my bedroom, and tonight is the first time the automation has worked at all, and it still only did one light. From the last app to this one too the error where “light is unresponsive” only to be fixed when reopening the app is still a problem. The connection error can’t be with the light if the app refresh fixes it.

Full featured. This is a serious app and it’s clear as daylight that the development of this software is crafted elegantly and with integrity. It’s true that there are a lot of features and it can be overwhelming but the plus is that you can do really creative stuff with lighting. I’m hooked. Well done development team whoever you are. I love this software. It’s deep and creative. Superb.

V2 is impressive. I already liked my Wiz lights and was glad I’d decided to go with this brand for my house, but V2 updated app is impressive. It makes the lights even easier to use! Thank you for the time and effort the app developers put into creating this.

Frustrating. For general everyday use the app is sufficient. However, the automation settings have too many steps and even when you have it all set up to go on, the toggle on/off somehow switches during the course from on to off. Must check everyday to be sure it’s still on. Work needs to be done on this feature to simplify the process and to pick date ranges would be easier as well. The older version of this app was better.

Help please. What the heck happened! I had the original Wiz app and everything was fine (it was laggy and had its bugs but at least I knew how to work it) now on this new app I can connect my lights AT ALL :( it says device found tap here to pair but absolutely nothing happens when I press that! The lights are on pairing mode and flashing. Then I try to press the plus sign in the top right and nothing happens there either! Really sick of this and customer support has been no help. Just save your time and get different lights

Worst app ever!!!!. As the title says this is the worst app ever made. The fact that this is a next generation app that is supposed to be better then the first makes this even worse if that’s even possible. The original wiz app was simple to use and syncing bulbs was even easier now if you are even able to get one bulb to pair you can’t even turn it on or off with any remote possibility of simplicity. All around this is just a crap app that should never have been created.

MUST READ. Now I NEVER…EVER write reviews but I’m so upset and disappointed about this update. Some things should just be left alone and it was nothing wrong with the other app. This is app is hard to use, confusing and just a bunch of extra stuff for no reason I can connect my Alexa to my lights anymore it took so long to connect my lights to it. And majority of the time my lights disconnect from the app all the time I HATE THIS NEW APP. And I’m very much tech savvy so I have done every troubleshooting I can do just bring back the old app or fix this one and it’s definitely a NEGATIVE 5 stars for me

Bring back version 1. Version one was perfect. Version 2 is glitchy, slow, clumsy and routinely loses connectivity with my lights. Never even knew this was a possibility when I had version 1. Version 2 also randomly changes my settings and then gets stuck that way. 4 lights in the room, all 4 on different colors and intensity’s takes a few attempts and turning things in and off to get them to go back to normal. Great product, bad software update. Super frustrated. Bring back version 1!!!! Please.

good lights, bad app. when i first got the lights about two months ago they worked great, but for the past month maybe anytime i try to do something on the app it says “unknown issue occurred”. it still completes the action and changes the lights but it’s constantly popping up. i tried just deleting the room and re-adding the lights thinking maybe it would go away, but when i tried to do so, it said i had to delete each bulb individually before deleting the group so when i went to delete the bulbs i couldn’t find any way to even remove them, so now i’m just stuck with “unknown issue occurred” anytime i try to do anything on the app. i really like these lights and i wish they’d do something to fix it considering it’s been this long already.

A Smart Bulb that works 1% of the time. “Unknown issue occurred Something went wrong, please try again”- I get this message over and over again when ever I open the app, try to make any changes, set an alarm, connect, or use the app to do anything. I love my lightbulb and it’s features in the app but what is the point if I am unable to adjust on my phone. I might as well use a normal light bulb. -extremely disappointing

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Not sure whose genius idea it was to update the original Wiz app but this new one is absolute TRASH. Nothing functions correctly. The app freezes constantly, and I can no longer control any of my lights from the original app. At this point, I would return all of my lightbulbs and switch to a different brand if it were possible. I am trying to reinstall all of my lights without any luck, and now having issues with color and settings.

New App renders the lights useless. This new updated app is awful. I never had any issues controlling the lights from my phone with the old app. When i was finally forced to upgrade to the new one, half the lights that use this program no longer want to work or occasionally will show they are working in the all. It has turned into an expensive bulb I have to manually turn on and off. I haven’t changed my wifi, location, or set up in any way besides the app and always have issues now.

Consider staying with the original app?. It’s perplexing to find how the new version of Wiz app could be worse than the original. The intent may have been making it better with the new app, but fell short on so many aspects including one too many crashes and terrible user interface. It managed to replace what were working well with new designs that made same tasks much more complex. I just went back to the original version…

ALWAYS NOT RESPONSIVE. I got these lights due to their cheap alexa connectivity but honestly I’m thinking that I might upgrade. Any time my wifi goes down, it breaks the lights for when it’s back up. I’ll go months without wifi outage and during that time everything is perfect and the lights run fine, but the effects that the lights experience after and outage last WEEKS. I’m tired of these stupid glitches, I just wanna come home and relax, not be frustrated that only one of my five lighting fixtures turn on when I command it through alexa.

New app (V2) doesn’t work. Everything worked great… until Wiz decided that the original app needed (for some unknown reason) to be replaced. Since then my lights refuse to turn on when I ask Alexa to turn them on, instead only turning on via the switch on the wall like regular bulbs do. They also keep resetting to “cozy”, which is another equally annoying thing. Bottom line: do yourself a favor and just get actual Hue lights and avoid the cheap light issues.

as of the latest release, i can no longer control my lights. i have around a dozen wiz bulbs and smart plugs spread throughout my house. the lights are still working on their previously programmed schedules, but as of the latest update, i’m no longer able to reliably control them with this app. i get constant “unknown issue occurred” errors, my custom modes all disappeared, and their support has been utterly useless. to be clear, i haven’t changed anything regarding my setup in months, and have been using these devices for years. i’ve told support that half a dozen times and they keep telling me the problem is my network (which is otherwise working fine and hasn’t changed at all in months). at the moment, i recommend looking at other brands. if i didn’t already have everything on a schedule, these bulbs would be a waste of money.
