Terrible. This app is awful. I spent 20 minutes coming up with a variety of passwords that meet the criteria only to be redirected to create a new password each time with the same instructions. After I finally created one that met the mysterious requirements (apparently not the 8 character minimum, case sensitive …) I finally got to the sign in page. I clicked “join to get rewards” and the app crashed. What a waste of time.

Not ready to use. Staples web connect startup / create a new account / login for app procedure is way too cumbersome to tolerate. I have old one and will continue to use it, though cannot delete my new connect account just created as the delete my account totally locks up - can’t scroll down - can only see the top where it talks about some things that will be deleted. I thought it would be handy to have a barcode in app for clerk to scan at checkout (old app doesn’t have) to make it easier. —- It’s not easier for customers to have to install new app and either leave it running or login each time with a kludgey procedure. No thank you.

THIS NEW SYSTEM STINKS!!. The LOOKYOUNEEDSIS review is spot on…this new, unbelievably stupid and useless app is the pits!!!!! Even AI wouldn’t be able to figure out all the mindless information on rewards, points etc. Once I use my $14 owed to me from recycled cartridges (not even on my account after more than a month ago) I won’t be going to Staples any more! I don’t need this frustrating and aggravating system in my life. You idiots in Corporate better rethink and fire those responsible or you’ll be out of business!

Associates hate it. You’d think after 2 app launch failures they’d learn their lesson. But no they decide to make a new company and call it something “different” so they have twice the bankruptcy power. This allows them to deliver us a half baked app that constantly crashes. Then they release updates that changes how you log in and create an account thus, screwing you out your coupons.

Slow. Great app! Don’t get me wrong it is an amazing app with great deals, but if you are going to have an app that is for a store I would suggest that it doesn’t take a long time for it to load on the phone. Us customers want to be able to tap the app and it load right away, not be sitting at check out waiting on an app to finally load and take up so much time that it takes away from doing other things.

Can’t create an Account. I tried several times to create an account with this new app (even though I already had an account, which I’ve used recently on a Windows desktop), and when I get through with entering all of the information, I cannot access the submit button at the bottom of the screen. I guess I’ll be going to Office Depot in the future.

So easy to use!. The app makes it so easy to see your reward credits and to find special reward items! Before I had to log into my regular account and switch over to the Rewards area and search for my credits. Then I had to print out the Reward Certificates to show at checkout. Now I don’t have to switch anywhere! I just open my Rewards app and show it to the cashier at the register. Thank you programmers for making my life easier!

App doesn’t work. Start over folks. After downloading the app, creating my account (even though I already had a Staples rewards account) because nothing transfers over, once I got to the store it did not recognize my sign it. So while 7 people queued behind me, and your very helpful store associate also trying to get me in, I simply gave up. I will likely shop elsewhere going forward. This is an absolutely brilliant customer DISLOYALTY app. Well done folks.

My go to store. I love this store, buy all my electronics here When i have questions this is where i come for person to person information All associates are knowledgeable & if they don’t know they find someone that does

This “new” App is Ridiculous. It’s like something from the 2000’s with a small, portrait orientated screen that doesn’t change based on the orientation of your device. It is NOT reflective of the same retailer’s website, which means you have to learn a new way of accessing anything. It has no way to send feedback to the developer or the retailer on the new App. If used on a iPad the screen pretends you are on an iPhone held in the portrait orientation. Until all of these issue are fixed, this App is worthless. It is obvious the current rating is based upon Staples requiring its employees to rate the app highly. I hope the employees at least got to use work time or got paid otherwise to lie for the company.

Employee Bridgette in Helena store. Wonderful employee service and patient with setting up my staples account. Asked if she could take a tip she replied she wasn’t able too. We should all be so lucky to have such a sweet and helpful employee.

Madison Staples. Madison Staples has the best customer service in our area, especially the printing department. Their work ethics and knowledge supersedes anyone that I have ever dealt with. I drive several miles out of my way just to use the Madison store!!

Nice but needs minor improvements. Downloaded today since the old app no longer worked/prompted to download the new app. Definitely nice improvements with the UI and the speed. The only thing I can see after making a couple of purchases (and having to log in multiple times) is the lack of Face ID to log on. Add that to the app and I will gladly come back and give you five stars. Otherwise, well done.

Nothing but issues. Constant issues. Being signed out for no reason. Not recognizing account information (although it’s confirmed to work at store level). Seems like once again Staples paid the least amount of money for development and got a crap product. Don’t use. Waste of time. In store coupons and deals are better then app deals anyway so the whole thing is completely pointless

Confusing and Long. As a Staples Associate, we recommend getting this app, but not every customer doesn't want to sit and wait for “the quick and easy sign up and download” It also doesn’t help when they sign in that there’s more to do. It would make the customer and us. The associates' lives would be more manageable if you made the signing up quicker. In general, make it less of a hassle. Also, we should recommend customers get this app, but we shouldn’t have management on us if we don’t get any. Primarily when you work at a low-traffic store. I don't get many people checking out at the register people mainly come from Print and Marketing and online returns.

Where’s the update?. Ever time I open this app, it says update to latest version. Yet, when I click on the update now button, it takes me to the App Store , which says “open”. I then deleted the app and reinstated it but it still said update! That’s not the only reason I gave a low rating. I’ve clipped. & saved digital coupons only to have them disappear before their expiration date. Terrible app.

User friendly. It would be nice to have an easier way to find the correct cartridges or toner just with the printer number. Also is there anyway to have the cartridge number with the name of the correct printer that you can use it with.

Time needed to review the site!. It’s new just opened it yesterday. Trying to use it but you interrupted. I just saw something I wanted. Time is needed to complete my thoughts. I would like to review the sale items if you let me. Will be happy to give my thoughts at a latter time!

Why remove Apple Wallet support?. Your previous app supported adding my Staples Rewards card to Apple Wallet. Why would you remove that feature in this version? If I just run into Staples to buy something, I don’t want to have to open the app (and re-log in often) just to access my card. It should pop up on my home screen using location awareness like it used to. It’s no different than having a plastic card on your keychain. Removing features like this is doing a disservice to your customers. Please re-enable Apple Wallet support.

please make it easier on us!. as a staples associate recommending the app is something we always do. but everyone always gives up in the middle of it because it’s so CONFUSING AND LONG!!! most customers just wanna get in and get out because the people we attract to the store are typically very busy and don’t wanna sit and download an app. please please make it easy so we don’t have to say it’s super quick and easy and then customers get mad at me when it’s not. for the love of everything PLEASE make it quicker. most customers are surprised that after they put in their name email and phone number it’s still some more steps. and then they get mad at me and say “you said this was quick and easy” and then my management is confused as to why i’m not getting any downloads … please… help us out here.

Make it easier on everyone!. Hello, I’m an associate at one of your stores and have been through the countless moments of having customers leave after realizing the process needed to sign in. For the sake of your customers time, please replace the initial “join now/log in” screen with the “join for free” button that appears once you finally open the wallet. This makes it simpler for the associate to direct the customer to the product we want to sell and it makes it 100x simpler on the customers who don’t have the time to create new passwords and for those who aren’t as tech savvy.

Login issue. I am a strokes associate and login/ create is so frustrating best recommendation to log in is if they have a rewards card as a login that way it auto-populates the info and create a password

Great app for everyone!!. This app is great for both store associates and customers. I enjoy the coupons that come on the app, and appreciate the fact that they change weekly. I work at Staples and am really happy that they’ve started doing this!

Excellent Customer service. A young man by the name of Anthony whom was at the register this evening was very kind, helpful and patient. He told me where to find a specific item I was looking for and he also rang me up. That is what I call customer service.

Can’t Log In. Was forced to download new app. Asked for my login email but does not see my account. I had been logging in with an ID before, but it no longer has that option. It’s making me create an account. I can log in via the browser. So guess I’ll opt out. Don’t want to screw up access to my account. The old app was fine and very convenient. Don’t know why it’s not recognizing my email?

Employees are signing customers up without their knowledge. As an ex employee I can say on the daily every store is faking a decent amount of their app signups. The app is wonky, signs you out every few days it seems. Takes too long to get customers signed up, they get confused easily and give up. Then when they do sign up it seems like everyone has trouble linking their accounts. I do not recommend using it unless to take advantage of the attention seeking coupons.

Broken app. I keep getting prompted to enter my phone/email to lookup my existing rewards account just the receive a pop-up that says Uh-oh (annoying BTW) this account already exists. OBVIOUSLY it already exists… that’s the point of a LOOKUP. The store associates… 3 of them, tried to help but couldn’t and customer service gave me an empty response directing me here for an app update. Do your job and fix your programming… please.

Very nice helpful staff- in copy center. Went there this morning to find out and use the free shredding services. The friendly young man helped me with setting up the app, explained how it worked and shredded my documents.

Staples Connect. Love how this app Truly connects everyone and helps our students with the give back program. Amazing coupons and discount. Hey I lead one of the store as a Sales Manager. Great place to be a leader and work for. They truly care about their internal and external customers. Love it.

Printing. I’m helping with a wedding and something was thrown onto me to get done in a short timeframe. Kaitlin was Amazing!!! She was beyond patient with me and helped me figure out how to make it all work. She even ran some sample prints until we had the look I was looking for. Great customer service.

Rewards number removed?. I got an email saying my rewards number was removed saying it’s tied to a different account! Now it’s asking me to create a new account. Also there is no information on how to get a new paper card-or where to see my old one. This is crazy plus the fact that if I read it correct-staples rewards for ink will change from $2 each to a point system? I will probably be going elsewhere as I used to LOVE my Staples membership..now.,Im not too sure

Changing brightness. The app turns the brightness to near max upon opening. I get the goal is to make it easier to scan in store. But if you’re going to change my brightness then you can change it back to my setting when I close the app or move off the rewards tab. UI 101 stuff.

Made by Toads. Didn’t get past signing up as the app actively omitted required information and arbitrarily worked against you. 1) Can’t paste you’re email in the email field, but you’re free to paste your email in the “confirm email” field. This tends to be more of an issue when you use alias emails (Hide my Email). 2) Password requirements are not conveyed to the user and inconsistent. Entering in you’re password you will see below the field text that states “8 letters, numbers, or special”. Yet when you enter a password like oG*#3UiJ7$%n4p9^0J&l (which meets the stated requirements) that text turns red and doesn’t tell you why. On top of that these same requirements are not applied to the “confirm password” field below, which give the green check. Pet gripe, but if signing up had this level attention I don’t have much hope for the app to function let alone keep any of the data I enter secured.

Still has old bugs. There is still some of the same bugs whenever the in-app notifications pop up. For example when a notification for classroom rewards pops up and I close it out, then click wallet, the screen is blank. I have to close out the app and reopen it. When I reopen the app, another message pops up asking to allow notifications. The other bug is when clicking on wallet, the screen brightness goes up, but when you close out the app, the screen remains bright.

Recent update is disaster!. I can only imagine how much business has been lost since update. You might want to check your sales numbers and make some quick adjustments to this updated app that completely downgraded efficiency. I could not even complete my order and missed out on the sale of the product I wanted to purchase. I wonder if Office Depot had a sudden increase in sales recently?

Staples In Wilkes Barre PA. I want to thank all the employees there. Always Honest and tell me how and what would work the best. This place is always clean and Organized. Thank you for all you do for my small business to run smoothly and give quality.

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. This NH Staples location rocks when it comes to Great Customer Service. Jaden has assisted me on multiple visits and has made my shopping experience quick and easy. He even offered to carry my heavy packages to my car.

Fairfield Store. Dominick Mesiti recommended this app to me. I’m a teacher and he informed me all about the classroom rewards program. Dominick was patient and took the time to help me set up an account through the app. He’s an exceptional asset to the Staples company! Every time I go to the Fairfield store I look for him to assist me; knowing I’ll get the best help!!! Thank The app is user friendly and I love how rewards can be earned and given to the school of my choice! What a great way to give back to the world of education.

No longer able to see in store pricing/inventory counts. The staples connect app before the most recent update was useful in viewing in store stock as well as instore pricing where the website usually doesn't show in store prices. Now after the update it seems like the staples connect app just mirrors the staples website and doesn't show in stock item counts or in store pricing at my local staples anymore.

Fixed login issue- thank you!. App works great now! But At first: (The app won’t let me log in. After I login, it allows it for 2 seconds, then says “incorrect login credentials” and takes me back to the login screen. I’m able to login through safari on my phone through the website, but not the app.)

Worst app ever. I have long loved Staples, especially the teacher rewards and have been a frequent customer for years. After my experience with the new East Rewards app, I’m not sure I will be buying at Staples any more. The products are great, prices are okay and customer service usually great. But using this app was a nightmare. The clerk and I played hide and seek with finding my card and my rewards for almost half an hours while I allowed others customers to go ahead of me. I had looked at the app earlier, then pulled up info I needed before I went into the store. Inside the store, I honestly believe the info moved from place to hide. When I managed to pull up both my card and my rewards, only one the rewards I had went through. Either Staples intentionally makes it impossible to use promised rewards and uses this app only as advertisement, or the app developers don’t know what they are doing.

Stored card?. I added my credit card to my account under Payment Method. It says I have 1 card stored. But when I look under Payment Method, it says I don’t have any stored cards A week later the problem went away. Credit card was visible and I was able to complete an order which I received

Devs, listen to your associates. Is this supposed to replace the other Staples app or are you all going to insist on having three different Staples apps?? How is this still a thing in 2024? I just logged in to this one because apparently this one is for rewards and the other one isn’t?? Anyway, I entered my phone number and it tells me “Oops, that account belongs to someone else”. It’s me, I’m the ‘someone else’ because I’m the account owner who just successfully logged in! Please, folks, even your poor associates are in here leaving reviews asking you to make things better and less confusing. Those are your internal customers and you should listen to them. Just focus on making ONE good app and scrap the rest.

Too long of a process while at the register. App requires logging in or creating an account which is too long a process for most people (including me) to want to complete at the register. I created an account once I got home and it keeps giving me an error when trying to link my Staples Rewards account. I know I'm entering the correct information. Currently a lot of hassle for no reward.

What happened to the old app?. This new Staples, easy rewards app is useless. I have been a Staples plus member for at least a decade, and I shop only at one store, my local store. However, in looking at my information that supposedly transferred from the old app to the new app, there is no information under ‘In-store purchases’ except the words “It looks like you haven’t made any in-store purchases”. What the—?? I just recycled, several ink and toner cartridges for rewards, but there is nowhere in this new app to review the rewards from the old program. Under the FAQs I found the following: Looking for your remaining Staples Rewards? Your earned rewards from the Staples Rewards® program can we found in the Rewards center, in your February eStatement email or in the Staples® app under Account, then Other Balances. Only problem was the Rewards Center was devoid of any information (‘You have no rewards’); and in the new app under ‘Account’ there is no ‘Other Balances’. I don’t know why the developers felt the need to completely retool a program that arguably lots of loyal customers loved, myself included, into this clumsy, user-unfriendly, self-promotional tool. Hate to say it, but unless y’all can fix this disaster, Office Depot may soon start to see a lot more business—including mine. There’s a good reason for the old adage “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”; you would do well to heed its advice.

Worst Reward App Causing Lost Sales. Since the app’s rollout, I tried logging into our business account to avail ourselves of the rewards we have earned. We have spent the majority of our supplies’ budget with Staples. I cannot log in - it says an account already exists with that information. Of course it exists. I am logging in not signing up. Today I spent over $300 and neither I nor the store staff member , Xavier, could log me in to my account to get to any rewards to reduce the cost of the supplies purchased. I tried explaining the app’s dismal failure to the store manager who really didn’t know what to say except “I’m sorry you’re having difficulty with the app.” I am not having difficulty with the app. I have an MS in IT. The app is badly designed and shouldn’t have been rolled out yet.

Forces me to create new account as existing user. I have a staples account and can successfully login online. The old app prompted me to download the new version which I did. The new app asks to check my email to see if there is an existing account. When entering in my email, it makes me create a new account. My email address was typed in correct, and I have a rewards balance on my account. Now I have to recreate a new account and lose my rewards and history to continue using the rewards program. I can login to the website no problem using my email address as well. It’s frustrating but I don’t need to use staples for the business.

App forces Screen brightness. The app overall is good. The coupons are easy to use. My issue is each time I use the app, it auto adjusts my screen brightness to a very bright setting. My settings for my brightness are set based on my environment, I adjust as needed for my own needs. The app should not be adjusting the phones brightness. Please fix!

Staples app is a game changer!!. Ever since I downloaded the Staples app my life has changed tremendously for the better. It has everything I need. I went from struggling on the streets to being able to buy 500 crayon box sets. Talk about started from the bottom!

Hello, I’m from Canada. While checking out Staples Canada I decided to download the app. Downloaded the app and it keeps asking for a ZIP code. I’m from Canada… we’re we have postal codes. If I could I’d give 0 stars for false advertising it being inclusive to Canadians. Very disappointed with the developers not taking this into consideration.

This app is too confusing. To write the password it’s too confusing, I tried to make it case sensitive and it’s not working I even tried google, fix your app.

Not a Canadian version. Said it worked in Canada but apparently there are no stores in Canada according to the app

This is an upgrade?. I had the old app. Old app made me download this one. Problem is, it insists I enter state and zip code to find nearby stores. I live in Canada. I downloaded this from the Canadian Apple App Store.

Disappointed. I had an account not long ago now it won’t recognize my email so I made a new one worked good till it ask me to find nearby location of the store closest to me BUT it only ask for a ZIP CODE no postal codes I do not live in the U.S.A. I’m in Canada and before from my old account and showed me my location near me and plus all the one all over my city in Canada now on the app you can’t even get past the zip code People in Canada not worth the hassle on this app to bad was a good app before what ever they did to exclude us here in Canada for the app not to recognize anything in Canada This is a real review from a human person

Bugs. Great app just wish it would work when i want to change store location or search a product.

Not working now. It was working fine last week. Whatever “bug fixes” you did a few days ago seem to have made things worse, at least on my phone.

Great App easy to use. The staples app is easy use and has all the latest sales and points you’ve earned at your fingertips.

Unable to sign up for rewards. When trying to sign up for rewards via the app it auto fills my email into both the email and the last name slots making it so I can’t fill it out. It won’t let me select the last name box at all no matter what I do so I can’t change it.

Thanks Staples. This app is so easy and I have already received so many rewards for my school.

New app is not good. The new update to the app changed the entire UI and it is a confusing mess. I say this even taking account that changes require a bit of adjustment. It is just not well thought out and messy.

Really???. Like Staples. A lot. The new app? Not so much. Already reading everyone else’s reviews. I’m right there with you, people. And to top it off, it’s only giving me a mobile phone version only, not the iPad version with the the great landscape mode that I know & love. Not a happy camper.

Why did you make an app. That is formatted for a phone for an iPad. I will admit that it works better on my phone than the last version, but if you are making an app for an iPad make it fit the screen of an iPad. You have the money to pay the developers. Get it right.

Uh Oh message. Returned some ink cartridges to my local store and was made to signup for the new app. The sales associate put in my information except the password. Now when signing into this new app to see my rewards all I get is this account already exist message. I can not move forward to see my rewards.

Sign up process is a nightmare. As an employee at staples, the app is an actual nightmare to have to sign customers up for. More than half of the time it freezes right before they are finishing the sign up process

How it helps me. It help me to get stuff for my children when they need stuff for a project, school stuff, and to get all the supplies that the teacher gives them .

Difficult to use. This may be the only retail app I use that doesn’t give the option to “stay signed in” or use fingerprint sign-in.

The. Worst.. This is by far the worst app ever developed. Staples should fire the development team with extreme prejudice. You can not add a rewards #. You must log in over and over again to see you account info even after being logged in. The guy at the highway exit selling used diapers has a better app.

Oh how I hate the new app.. I’m a supply manager for a small medical company and have been using Staples for supplies for 20 plus years. This latest app is a nightmare. Was hard to get signed into. The shopping experience is glitchy and unpleasant. I do not see any improvement on the customer end. It shouldn’t be this hard to shop an app.

Customer. Great to see coupons on app so don’t miss getting savings!!!

Step backwards. The app used to open full screen on my iPad. New version opens at about the same size as a small iphone, which makes it harder to read and navigate. Fixes something that was not broken. Pitiful.

Terrible app. Won’t load gets frozen on my iPhone & even the associate at the store was perplexed. Want to use it but can’t. I’d rate it a zero star but doesn’t give me the ability. Tried loading it again now and asking to do an update & just stays frozen.

Wow. Service was spectacular despite it being very busy! I appreciate the amazing people you have working at the Boston Road Springfield store!

App looks horrible on iPad. Downloaded the most recent version of the Staples Rewards app. I use it on my iPad but it is a horrible looking. It is designed to fit on a phone screen. I tried using the enlarge option but it loses focus and wastes screen space. I deleted the new App and will continue to use the older version I still have on my iPad, since the new one replace it!

Fine app. Haven’t had this app long but so far, so good. I like all the coupons in one place, and all my rewards. One point off because it’s been slow to open lately.

Too many apps, too many accounts. I am not going to download 3 apps and create 3 different accounts. Consolidate everything under one, and then may be I’ll give it a chance. Until then — deleting everything staples related from my phone to eliminate unnecessary complexity

From an Art Teacher. Site seems very easy to get around. Pretty user friendly even for an old guy. I look forward to using it.

Staples Connect. The app is good so far. Helped save me money and it’s easier to find my previous receipts.

Rewards number ridiculousness. Why can’t I add my rewards number to the app in app? The app itself is great but just to add my rewards number I have to go out of app and fill out a contact us form. Such a roundabout method is archaic for a modern retail rewards system and distracts users from how good the actual app is.

So easy to use. This app is so easy to use. Searches are easy and get to the desired product(s) quickly. Thanks Staples!!

Staples. …. Is amazing and has everything I need this place is like a candy store for everyone

Slow. S to many emails and notifications. If I worked one more hour for the year it would be more money than what staple’s coupons would of saved me. The time to look at all these emails and get distracted by notifications are enough to never shop at staples

App. I like being able to go on the app and checking out what’s on sale?

Old app was better. The new app will not go to full screen on my iPad, in either orientation. It would be nice if it did. The arrows at the bottom make little difference.

Keeps Logging Out. I want to love this app. There are tons of great features for a loyal shopper, but the app logs me out as soon as I log on. It says “session timed out.” I tried to delete and re-add it, be on and off wi-fi, and even change the password. Sadly, I can’t fix it.

Great Store Terrible App. Every week the app logs me out and I have to go through a horrible password reset/account linking process just to get back into the app. You have lost a loyal customer over your poorly designed login and rewards account management process.

Helpful. This is a very good way to keep track of purchases and Rewards. I have been using this app while Homeschooling for a year. I love this app.

Hard to find teacher in classroom rewards. I had to give it to the school because it’s not easy to give to a teacher. Otherwise the app is great.

Why a different app , than Staples app. Why would staples have a different app than a regular staples app which has coupons

Doesn’t give credit for recycling. I haven’t seen a receipt and recycling credit in the app. Tried calling the customer service number (the number was only given to me after I called the store. It’s not available in the app). I’m on hold for 40 minutes and counting. So, I give up. Not worth my time to use this app.

App does not work!!!. Your app no longer works.. I have no visible rewards, despite being notified of $20 in rewards plus additional 1000 pts from you for problems encountered. Can not find the teacher I support to donate to. There is no where to access the school or teacher. You need to do much better! Please fix all the glitches.

Time Waster. Both downloading and trying to access my Rewards this app caused me literally hours of frustration not only in logging in (3 x had to change password because it couldn’t identify me) but trying to get the Redemption Codes to display. Even the Staff couldn’t help me. Once my recycling rewards post, I will make an on-line purchase and will sever my ties as a Staples Customer.

Staples is my store. I love the rewards. I work for a doctor. Small office, we buy printer ink cabinet office supplies etc etc.
