Should work, but doesn’t.. I have a 4 year-old, curved Samsung Smart TV. All my settings are correct. I wouldn’t have paid $15 because it doesn’t work, but the app prompts you to pay BEFORE you even seeing if it will work with your TV. Really shady. Even if it DID work, that’s shady.

Worthless without paying for premium. It seems like the app could be useful but I can’t push more than 1 button before I get asked to upgrade AND add pop up. It would be helpful if the app was usable without forcing an upgrade. Ads I understand but not after every single key stroke.

Not the Samsung app!!. Don’t get fooled and pay for this app. It’s not the Samsung app - just a developer pulling a fast one by playing off the name of the actual Samsung app - and once you’ve paid for their app (that doesn’t work by the way), there is no way to get a refund!!! Bad, Requires TV Authorization. I got this to replace my broken Samsung remote, but it does not work like that. Every time you open this app to use it as a universal remote, you must first authorize it on your Samsung TV by clicking YES on your old remote. Its counter-intuitive. It’s a requirement by Samsung. I was duped into believing this would replace the physical remote. This cannot replace your remote. Would not buy again. Would not recommend. Will delete. Need refund.

One of the worst!. Soon as I open the app I get hit with a rating asking for five stars and every time I click out of it it pops up again three seconds later like how do you expect me to write your app if I haven’t even used it more than three seconds first off when I connected to the TV controls do not work properly and then I click one of the buttons five times and I get a pop-up screen saying that I have to pay $14 a month if I want “unlimited clicks” which means you can only use the controller for a couple clicks when I say a couple I mean like three or four and then you have to pay $14 a month extremely poor marketing and not to mention a waste of time personal opinion if you’re going to make an app like this there should be a free version that doesn’t bombard you with pop-up saying that you have to pay every five seconds I only got to use the remote for literally less than a minute before it said I can’t use it anymore unless I pay I do not suggest downloading this I don’t understand why the ratings are so high probably fake ratings download the app yourself and you’ll understand why I say this unless you want to waste $14 a month on something you probably won’t use just go buy a keyboard and mouse for the same price of one month and then you’ll never have to pay again

Too busy trying to sell me. Kind of hard to evaluate something that takes you through four screens of sales material every time you try to use it during the evaluation phase. Not enough good about it to make me overlook this VERY undesirable front end.

Don’t use. Paid for this app and if tv is off it won’t turn back on and it only work with two of my smart tv’s in my house and can get it to fine the other. Plus it has trouble connect to our WiFi and staying connected.

Worst purchase I’ve ever made. It’s not convenient if I have to always find my actual remote just to connect the app every time I try to use it…. That’s ridiculous! No matter how many time I press don’t ask again or always allow! I would not have waisted my money had I known this

can’t use the app. This app is recommended for people who need to replace a lost remote, however in order to connect to Samsung TV you have to click “ok” on the TV to allow the connection - you need the remote for this.

NOT The Samsung app!. Downloaded this thinking it was the Samsung app. Initial walkthrough tried to get me to purchase for $15. Asks to rate every 2 minutes while using. Every other tap on the screen tries to get you to spend $15 to buy. Seemed fishy for Samsung. Only after reading the other reviews I realized this is just a scam. Deleted.

I’d rather buy another remote than endure this terrible app. It will not allow me to use it with ads (for free) and basically attempts to force me into buying the app for over $14. Plus, it bombards you with requests for reviews before you’ve even used the app one time to actually control the television. I’ve wasted enough of my time - don’t waste yours.

Keeps asking for permission. I bought the premium version of this app for 15$. Everytime I try to use it, I get a question for permission on the TV that takes a real remote to answer! Dear developer, does that make sense to you at all? I’m checking the review now (unfortunately late) and I see people talking about this problem before but apparently the developer doesn’t seem to care. Moreover, it keeps freezing and the buttons do not work a lot or times I deleting this app.

Not the actual SmartThings app!. Downloaded this and while it worked as a remote it could not do everything it was supposed to and the UI looked really poor. Luckily I did not pay like some other people before realizing the real Samsung app is different. It is SmartThings with a capital T!!! Don’t pay for this awful thing.

Lack of communication. I bought this remote control app and immediately found that it did not work for my situation. I therefore sent an email within minutes of purchasing it asking for a refund. I have not received a response - and I’m guessing that I probably won’t. Thanks for nothing

Scam. I feel very stupid for downloading this app. It would not let me past the set up screen so I paid the $25 lifetime premium. That made no difference and I still cannot set the app up. I saw all the five star reviews but afterwards I went in and realized most of them are garbage reviews and it looks like bots or people paid to leave reviews. I hope you read this one and save yourself some money. Don’t be stupid like me stay away from this app.

Big disappointment. I just inadvertently purchased this app and I’m so sorry that I did. There are no instructions on how to connect and I keep getting the same message as another user said and that is to constantly bring asked to sign in. There is absolutely no support. What a ripoff. I will be contacting Apple.

I wish i could give it no stars. The app didnt even work for my tv and before i knew it didnt it was too late because the app charges you before you even get the chance to find out if it even works for you 😩 very unsatisfied and upset over losing money on an app i won't be able to use

Scam. Look like this is a scam. I bought the product premium and the buttons are not working. I try to contact the developers, try to send email and went to for support but there is not access to anything.

Doesn’t work. It identifies and finds my tv. It didn’t let me use any of the functions. The free version doesn’t let you control anything. The paid version doesn’t seem to function correctly with my Samsung TV. Better off buying an actual universal remote

Lesson learned. App is trash, paid the $14+ and it didn’t work. Recognized the tv but would connect to let me use it. Kept saying to connect to wifi and it doesn’t even have an option. I should of read the reviews first instead of going by the stars. Smdh

Terrible developer style. Asks you to buy it and rate it every 10 seconds. I connected it to my TV and changed the channel then I ran out of key presses and they want me to buy it. Like seriously, how would I know if I want to buy your app after 60 seconds.

Not great. Have to get approval everytime.. can’t be a solo remote unless you get up and turn tv on with buttons on the tv.. love that I have remote on phone but dang hate these two issues.

Total scam. I paid the price to have this and have all the features and it’s a complete crock and nobody will answer my emails. The TV constantly asks for permission because the remote is constantly disconnecting and you have to use an actual remote to give it permission so unless you have a remote somewhere in your home buying the remote does not work. This is garbage.

This is a scam. I purchased the frame TV. And it tells you to download smart things app. They are gaming the system by calling the stick smart things app. They than force you to make the purchase of this and also force you to make a five star review. Remove this app.

Newest Update Doesn’t Work. Newest Update now requires a 4 digit pin on your tv and the pin never registers so this app is useless and without a physical remote I literally have to get up to change channels which doesn’t work well for this disabled customer. $15 wasted, don’t pay there has to be better.

Pay to control your tv. Just know, you will have to pay to be able to control your tv with the app. Limited number of button touches then you have to pay. Just easier to use the remote with the Tv.

Need to use original remote to get past “Allow”. It doesn’t make sense that I have to keep hitting allow every time I use it. If I knew this I would not have spent the money on it. I just threw away $15. I will try to cancel it soon as I can if possible. Useless if I have to use my other remote every time when it’s broken.

Doesn’t work. Sometimes it works. Most times it doesn’t. Sometimes it needs the TV remote to confirm the phone is authorized. The reason I wanted to have this option was in the event we couldn’t find the tiny Frame TV remote. The app is useless in this case. Too often it’s useless anyway.

Connection Issues. App would be great if it didn’t lose connection all the time. Sometimes it isn’t able to find my tv.

Bull crap app. You can only hit a button so many times or you have to pay for it so you can only turn your volume up five times then if you wanna turn it up more you have to pay $15 for the app or $1.99 a week it only allows you so many “keypresses“ a day.I guess $15 isn’t too bad for a remote but I’m pretty sure there’s other free apps that you can use

Samsung trying to squeeze an extra buck. Dear Samsung, you’ve already got a bunch of money for the TV, why are you filling the app with ads and then begging for the $14+ …. Just make the remote free an charge an extra $1 on the TV price upfront, it is likely that only 1 in 20 people try the app anyway. Your reputation is at stake and the bad reviews are probably costing you more than the $14+.

Don’t bother. Pay and then get to pay again.. The app is ok. It works. I paid for the lifetime subscription and it is now asking me to pay for it again. There is no way to get the money back and no way to get it to believe I’ve paid.

Used to work till update. I’ve used this app for a year now after the paywall it worked well. Though since the last update it wants to constantly search for a tv while before it’d find the tv in less than 30 seconds.

Very upset. Got this app to connect to my tv because every time I try to connect on the real smart things app the app closes down after it begins pairing. On this app your prompted to pay 35 dollars and told you will be able to contact support at any time if needed, but I instead found nothing but 3 buttons that don’t work!!! Complete Garbage. This app is very poor. Would have given zero stars if I could have. It has very basic functions. $15 is a raping for what it does. Every time I open that app, I have to use the TV remote to allow the app access...I may as well just use the TV remote to control the TV. I want a refund!

paid for the lifetime remote. now getting ads to buy lifetime remote. this remote is worthless. as others have mentioned, it requires that you have your original remote to allow access this remote. so every time you want to use it, you need to find your original remote. it makes no sense and is a waste of money. now! they are giving me ads each time i try to access the remote to buy what i already purchased. unethical company. asked for a refund. no response.

Fake out. This is not the free app that Samsung developed for use with their products. Not only is it an attempt to trick you with its name, it starts by showing slides meant to introduce its features and then if you proceed past the last slide you jump right into an unwanted $15 purchase. I cancelled quickly enough to avoid the charge, went back, and noticed a faint icon (Skip or X or something I don’t recall exactly) that allowed you to use the app without paying. Then I hit a registration wall. Seems like a blatant scam job. Should be immediately removed from the App Store.

Don’t download!!! Not for Samsung TV set up. If you are setting up a Samsung TV an app is not needed, even though the TV set up suggests it is and the directions provided are terrible! Do not download this app!!! Downloaded by accident while trying set up Samsung TV. Wrong app but realized it too late. App says that it will not charge my credit card but it resulted in a fraud alert. When I called my credit card provider I learned that there were several charges to my account.

Asking for approval every time. I gave it 3 stars only because when I turn off the TV then on, the TV asks for approval again . If you please can fix this issue and make a stronger connection . something that is linked to tv without asking for approval every time.

It’s fine. This app works as Intended but I got tired of ads so I decided to buy the one time purchase subscription but it charged me without giving me access to the subscription. I still get ads and all that. When I hit “restore purchases” it loaded then crashes. Honesty might report to BBB because I’ve contacted the owner of the app but have gotten no response…

Does not work after you have to pay to unlock it.. Does not work after it requires you to pay in order to unlock it. Once you unlock it you find out that it will connect to the TV but will not control it.

Refund. I’m trying to get a refund because I purchased on accident. It says I need to create and account in settings but in settings there is no way to make an account. Please help.

Doesn’t work. So I paid the $20 for this app because I (my children actually) LOST our original remote. Let me say that again. I LOST my original remote. But when one tries to connect the app to the TV a pop up comes up on the TV asking the user to accept the new “device” connected to the tv. Which you can’t do if you have no remote!! Kinda defeats the purpose. No?! Not happy. :(

Does not work - may be a scam?. I never ever write reviews - but so rely on them. I have a smart TV and have uses other apps to control it - this one does not work. They should have a demo option, it makes zero sense to me how it is so highly rated - it is the only reason I purchased it.

DO NOT BUY THIS REMOTE. Don’t buy this remote! What a waste of money! For it to be used you must constantly “allow” its use with your physical remote (the one that originally came with your tv). What is the point of having a remote on your phone if you constantly need to find and use the physical remote in order to use it? This is a completely useless app and I do not recommend spending your money on it AT ALL. I downloaded it because I often misplace my actual remote and yet it demands its constant presence in order to work properly. Very dumb!

You can download the app for free and then when you are setting it up without realizing it, it will charge you 35 dollars for premium use and you can’t undo the purchase… also doesn’t connect with tv unless you have the physical remote to do so. Not Samsung SmartThings. Which is free. Paid 20 bucks for this app - doesn’t work and THEN realized it wasn’t the correct APP. Samsung SmartThings has a different image and is written as one word. I feel like I just totally allowed myself to be SCAMMED.

It updated. It updated and the ‘lifetime’ that I paid for was very short lived when it updated and it won’t let me sign in anywheres to get ahold of someone so I can get my subscription that I paid for back or at least the service to work again.

Barely useful. Save your money. I’ve never written a review before, but I am so disappointed in this app that I had to warn other people. I paid $20.99 CAD to unlock the permanent version assuming it would be better. I bought it assuming it could replace our lost tv remote, but it wants permission every single time on the tv whether to allow the phone to connect as a remote. Which is impossible to do without the actual physical remote. Utterly ridiculous. Found the physical remote, connected the app, but it still wants permission every time. It also won’t detect the tv unless it’s already on. So, the only way this app works is if you turn on the tv with the manual button or remote, connect your phone with your remote (or manual button if you’re lucky enough to have that option), and then you can use it. Total garbage.

The only thing this app can do is steal your money. I downloaded this app and before I could even select my TV was prompted to select a three day free trial then 49.99 yearly, and then I was charged $63 immediately and the app doesn’t even work. Apple support said IF they decide to refund me then hopefully I’ll see it back in my bank account within 30 days 😒

Doesn’t Work - No Support - Full Payment. I downloaded and installed this app thinking I would have the option to cancel before the free trial period ended of it didn’t work with my television. Well it didn’t work with my television and I contacted support, and there’s been no reply. I was charged the full amount ($23.99) and there was no trial period or way to cancel my payment. I have tried contacting the developer via the support option within the app but still I’ll have yet to receive a reply or refund. Save your money, folks. I’ll repost if I hear back from the developer.

No longer working. I thought I was doing a trial of the app but it turned out I paid for premium. So I used it for quite awhile with no real issues. Since the latest update it remains stuck on “sync remote in app products” and will not open. I paid money for this app and would like it to work. I will change my 1 star review once this issue is fixed as before that the remote worked well for me. I am on an iPhone 11 Pro if that makes a difference.

Canadian residents cannot apply. The app knows where you are but doesn’t have ability to adjust for Canadian residents. A US Postal code is required. It would be great to utilize this application.

Doesn’t Work Unless TV Is On. When I purchased this app and the times I have tried to use it, it won’t work because the TV is “idle.” That’s the whole reason I wanted the app…for if I can’t find the remote or it’s not charged. This app is 100% useless.

Worthless. I was directed to purchase this app by my Samsung 55” TV when I reset the TV to factory settings. This app is worthless. Not necessary to run the TV. Don’t waste your time downloading it. I’m attempting to get a refund. We will see.

Not the real SmartThings app. Don’t be fooled like I was. This is not the real SmartThings app by Samsung. I was unable to get it to work correctly with my Samsung The Frame television. The real SmartThings app has a capital S and T. I’m surprised that Apple allows this app to be on their site with the same name.

I wouldn’t use your app if I had my physical remote.. It asks you to pay to use, then asks you to accept using the physical remote. This negates the entire reason for the app.

I am not happy. I do not like this app and would like a refund. I’m not even able to send an email without creating some type of account under my phone’s settings menu.

Not worth it. It only worked for a few days before my TV denied access. I cannot give permission because my remote died and no manual acceptance on the TV itself.

Don’t install tricks you out of money. Before even get it going it will try to get you to commit to $15. If you do try it, go slow and read each prompt.

SmartThings. The app keeps pushing you to the premium version for a pay to use version with tiny fonts offering to remain on the free version. Feel like I am in a bait and switch situation.

Duped!. I thought it was Samsung App. It is not!!!!! Every time you use this remote, you must firstly Allow on tv with regular remote, totally nullifying the need for the control initiated by the phone. I need refund for this charge.

Unsatisfactory. I purchased this app but it does not work. It connects and disconnects constantly. It does not register one of my TVs. The ambiance mode for my TV is not there. I sent an email and have not received any response in 24 hours. I have asked for a refund.

Has never worked. Waste of money. This app has never worked and waste of $15 bucks. I’m connected to internet and it never finds my Samsung smart tv.

New. As far as this time goes (first) ,very good

Nothing. Screen shows connection but nothing works. Volume changes on screen when tv remote volume is adjusted but no other feature is working.

It’s pretty trash. Doesn’t work. Literally connected my tv and did nothing but try to get me to pay every time I tried to turn the volume down or use the app in any way. Waste of space.

Paid for this app and it does NOT work!. I went to their support and can’t get through to them. Oh and they are in the Philippines. Hmmmmm. If they can help me fix this I will remove this review. Until then stay away!

Worked once then crashes. Worked the first time and then never again. I cannot get any support. I want my money back.

Pointless app. What’s the point of having the app if i still have to grant permission for it to be used? If I’m using the app because i can’t find the remote, then asking for access is stupid since I CAN’T FIND THE REMOTE

Return my money. It’s a scam that doesn’t work and asks for money and rating before even using . I paid the lifetime amount only to see it disconnecting 2 seconds later

Crap. At first it would turn on my Samsung TV. Then it wouldn’t. And yes, I enabled “turn on with app” on advanced network settings. Now it’s not controlling my TV at all, even when the TV is on and it’s connected. What a waste of money.

Don’t waste your money!!!. App doesn’t work majority of the time and has to be completely closed down before being able to connect to the tv again. What a scam!

Need physical remote to make iOS remote work. Don’t buy this. On my Samsung TV I have to approve the connection to this remote app every time I want to use the iOS version. Trying to get my money back.

Does Not Work. It keeps asking me to pay to upgrade when I already have. In the meantime it won’t let me use the remote. Please either repair the problem, or refund me my money.

DO NOT GIVE THIS APP YOUR MONEY. Guys this is a classic scam, if you only realized this after paying, take it up with your bank and you should get your money back. The app is designed to steal your money without repercussion.

Free version is trash nagware. Dog chewed up remote and needed something simple for turning TV on and off. Can’t open the app or use volume without purchase prompts. Y’all already have ads running on the free version.

Can’t select type/brand of device. Page one step one states please select type of electronic device. Choices are LG Samsung and Roku. Can’t select any. Dead in the water. Scam. Already paid and couldn’t even launch the darn remote. Buyer beware. Scam.

Difficult to setup. Hard to get working. It’s a process! Not user friendly

Remote. I lost my remote and I need this one to wipe the tv but the TV I’d swing to clock allow to let me use the remote with the original remote but I don’t have the original!!

This is not hard.. Too hard to figure out stew confusing the hand control

Worthless. Can’t turn on tv.. Bought app to replace lost remote. Can’t turn on tv with app unless tv is already connected to app. Can’t turn on tv without remote. Hence can’t connect to app. Just buy a replacement remote instead
