Waitlist system is flawed!. Drove an hour from the house to eat at this restaurant. Got on the waiting list 20 mins before getting there it said approximately 24mins wait time. Got a text 7 mins later saying that my name was being called and by the time I got there I was deleted off of the waiting list and the new wait time was over an hour! This is the second time this has happened to me and I will not go back!

App doesn’t work. Cannot access app. Says i cannot set up new acct as my email already exists. Will not allow me to reset password - email for reset never arrives. No numbers or contact information listed to help correct the issue.

Inefficient Application and they waste our time. My initial wait time through the app was 2 hrs. In less than 20 minutes I was asked to come to the table in less than 15mins. I tried callin but the folks in Pleasanton weren’t responding. Could do better in regards with the app so you could refrain from spoiling our plans and wasting our time.

Very frustrating experience. After calling the restaurant and being told by a worker that the only way to get on a wait list is either via the app or by physically coming to the store, we opted to try the app. They mentioned they have lots of international customers and it works all the time. Once signed up, you have to add your phone number in order to join the wait list, but they will not allow numbers outside the US (including Canadian numbers). This basically renders the app completely useless otherwise and we had to drive way out of our way to go to the restaurant to get on a wait list that was over 2 hours long. If the app is the only way you want to interact with your customers, try actually employing people who know how it works and fix the experience as it’s completely garbage.

Stupid system. I live 35 minutes away. Called to see if I could reserve a spot then found out I had to download the app and join a waitlist. It said there was a wait time of 15 minutes, so I left right away. When I got here they said that it expired 15 minutes after I was called, and that I had to join the waitlist again, which was now 90 minutes.

One of the worst apps I’ve ever used. I’m talking in the whole history of iPhones, I can’t remember the last time an app has been so useless and frustrating. Since I’ve downloaded it, we’ve gone to different Kura restaurants several times and the waitlist feature has never worked. I’ve had issues with my points updating and there’s nowhere to request help. You can’t access order history anywhere. I mean, really, what is the point of this garbage? Especially for a place that seems to be touting a futuristic technology-friendly vibe, with its robot butler and tablets used for pretty much everything.

Extremely frustrating experience. I forgot my account password, and I can't receive the reset email. But when I register a new account, it asks me to get a phone verification number. When I enter the phone verification number, it says my number is registered with another account. So I'm in a dead loop and I'll never be able to eat at Kura sushi again.

Waiting list estimate is always off. The staff uses this waitlist religiously but the time you’ll actually be on it is hard to predict. It’s hard to plan if it says the wait is 50 minutes and then you're called 5 minutes later. Also the delivery is very expensive but takes forever. Kura should just go on postmates.

Poorly designed app, bad UX.. Why do I need an account just to be added to a waitlist? If anything use the yelp integration. The sign up process takes as much time as a credit card application. And page layout is not responsive at all to different display resolutions.

Awful App. I tried to get on the waitlist today. Can’t put in the location of my Kura because nothing happens when I click on the link for store. It says more locations coming and I can’t get it to work to change it. And the submit button didn’t work. My friend in the car next to me gets us on the waitlist. Go figure. I have never been able to use this app. Worthless.

App useless if you’re near two different locations. The app defaults to the closest location and I can’t pick another location that’s also nearby. As a result I have to drive closer to the location I want just to fool the app to use the right place? This makes no sense.

What’s the point if we can’t use the app while dining?. Went to the Cupertino location and wanted to use the app for both coupons and get my dishes counted toward future rewards. Ok, except because I had Verizon I couldn’t get any reception and thus couldn’t use the app at all. How the heck am I supposed to redeem these coupons then?

Awful loyalty system. Been to various locations and about 25% of the times the “points” never applies even after scanning and there is no way to add the receipt back on yourself. So you don’t really get 5 off 50…

Useless App. App is useless, they don’t honor the waitlist in person. We arrived at given time, the host asked us to wait 15 more minutes, when we came back 7 minutes later, the table had been given to someone after us and we were asked to wait again. What is the point of this app!

Just walk in, don’t use this app. Downloaded this app so I could put my name on the waiting list, but the Cupertino location does not allow this. Also, this app does not let you make an account using Apple strong passwords or email forwarding. Don’t download this app, just walk in to Kura and put your name down.

Pointless. The app is completely useless now after they changed waitlist systems. It literally doesn’t mean anything. The points you earn don’t last long enough for you to get another chance to save up enough money for sushi. Absolute garbage.

Just Ok. Downloaded the app for the waitlist feature which is very flawed. It gives you an inaccurate wait time and therefore you will probably lose your spot. And the coupons expire after around 2 weeks which seems kinda unfair.

Disappointed. All I want is to know how long the waitlist is at the restaurant. First you require me to download this app, then you require my email AND my phone number before I can find this information. That’s ridiculous. I’m deleting this app now. I wanted to try your restaurant, but I can get sushi somewhere else where they respect their customers’ time and privacy.

Point tracking is a joke!. Worst app ever. They advertise downloading the app for rewards all over the restaurant and you’d think they’d actually have a semi-decent app- this app is trash. Employees know the app is bad too, they just act like it works. Whenever I’ve asked them about it, they just tell me that my points will load later - yea right!! I’ve gone 8 times to Kura and spend well over $50 each time- not once have I gotten the discount coupon.

Didn’t get password reset email. I didn’t remember the password after getting a new iPhone. Or for some reasons, I couldn’t login. I clicked forget password. It said it would email me so I can reset my password. I didn’t get any emails from the company. Unable to login or change password. Please advise!

Waitlist is a lie. Why even create this app and say you can waitlist remotely? Waited 25 minutes until app texted that our table was ready and to check in with host. Host then explains that the “waitlist” doesn’t actually start until you physically check in even though the restaurant has multiple signs saying you can remotely check in. What is the purpose of even having a digital waitlist in the app like every other restaurant, and then make up different rules once you arrive in person. Or if you want to use different rules, just communicate them to the customer that they must physically check in with host to start the wait time. What a waste of time.

What’s with all these bad reviews?. If you want to say the restaurant had bad food or waiters, do it on their Yelp page or something, this is for the app.

This app is a complete joke. Multiple red flags with this app. There’s no place to make a reservation. When you try to make a reservation or view your spot, there’s no option to select your restaurant. If you call the closest restaurant they’ll tell you to use their website. The website is the same way and they don’t give any explanation for it. The app is notoriously slow and laggy. I hope they fix these issues soon.

waste of time. You will lose your place in line. live 5 minutes away so i figured id leave when there were 3 parties ahead. The wait was supposed to be 50 minutes with 10 parties ahead of me. The online wait went from 5 parties to “you’ve been called 1 time”. Not a chance that’s realistic. Wasted an hour and a half waiting... disappointed...

Love this place. But app update👎🏻. Not sure what the newest update has done we can no longer make reservations!! Which is necessary for this place.

Waitlist works but rewards not going through. The waitlist works just fine but my reward points aren’t going through the app. So I miss coupons all the time. They need to fix this. When I do have coupon to use, it doesn’t go through their system at the restaurant anyways sometimes.

False Advertising. Good for making reservations ahead of time (if you’re in the area), but similar experience as other commenters regarding the reward points. You don’t get 10pts/$1; rather, it’s more like around 100pts every time you dine there. 1 star for efficiency with reservations, but the rewards system is falsely advertised.

Not able to log on. Keep getting Error messages. I keep getting message error. “Network error has occurred. I delete all and install it again. It does the same thing. It’s so frustrating. I can’t use app to get points. I give up and deleted it off iPhone. I can’t even use it to reserve a spot. 😩

Terrible App, Bad UI, Worthless. Horrible app with bugs. Idiots must design it since some of the bugs are so obvious they’d be found with basic tests. Worthless rewards program because it doesn’t interface with the stores table tablets, so you’re forced to checkout with a server.

Worst app ever. What’s the point of advertising your app to be able to take waitlist then only to take walk in only in most northern ca bay area locations? It’s ridiculous. Also the point expires? People don’t go to sushi every two weeks so it’s a waste of points accumulation. There’s never coupons, all i get is promotional emails. This app is awful. Please improve it.

Needs improvement. I only use the app to get us on a waitlist and pay. Paying is fine, but the waitlist feature is unhelpful. It’ll say there’s a 50 min wait on screen, then when I make a waitlist request it’ll change to a 30 min wait. Ok great but I wasn’t expecting that, now I have to change my plans. If I waitlist 20 minutes later, it pops out a new wait time of 45 minutes, counter to the 1hr+ wait time on the screen. I would prefer accurate reporting. Also you cannot undo a waitlist request, so even though my plans have changed and I’m not going to use that spot anymore, it’s still hitting the restarting queue and they’re still having to deal with it. It’s rather inconvenient for all parties.

Very buggy. App doesn't work too well. Spent over $50 my first time there and didn't get the $5 reward. Most recently I went with my family and spent over $300 and didn't get any points added to my account. Might as well not have a reward system if it's not going to work. Only nice feature with the app is being able to join the wait list.

Doesn’t work. First off the app forces you to sign up and give your email and phone number to join the waitlist but then it doesn’t allow you to join the waitlist. The app is literally broken. So they just steal your information to add you to their mailing list and that’s it.

Terrible app. Love the food; hate the app! How can a place that is leaning so forward on food delivery have an app that is so technically inept? App doesn’t work correctly with iPhone password management and worse doesn’t allow any reservations or selection of time. Great, another app that I install just to replace an ipad at the front door. 🤦🏻‍♂️

waitlist option is useless!. sometimes it takes 2x more time waiting, but sometimes they tell u that waiting time is 60 minutes, but the line gets forward and you spot is ready in 25 minutes and u are NOT there! What is the point of that waitlist if it does not guarantee anything!!!! Allow people to simple reserve a table!

You can’t pick table or bar. This app is a piece of crap. Doesn’t allow you to pick the counter or table. It’s very confusing to check how long the wait is too. I hope they will improve the quality asap!!!

Don’t waste your time w the reward. I joined and spend $168. Server scanned barcode and had a whole conversation about it, but app doesn’t show any points. What a waste of time. I should have received $15 in rewards. There’s no customer service option like regular apps, no one to resolve my issue. Want a waste of my time.

Waitlist not working. I’m trying to reserve a spot on the app for the waitlist and it’s saying it’s unavailable. I can’t even order online through this new app. I’m not going to drive 20+ minutes to then wait 2 hours for a table. The app is there for a reason. Please make the fixes needed soon. I’ve been trying to get a table for a week.

Scam!!!!!. Don’t waste your time downloading the app! No way to keep track of points or input purchases! Spent over $500 and did not receive credit! Coupons showed up once but were gone the next day when I tried to use it. VERY BAD APP!!!! Decent food

Just call to order pick up instead. I recently placed an order for delivery using the app. Once I submitted my payment info, there was no email confirmation and no text confirmation that my order was received. I had to call the restaurant to check it was received, and there’s no way to make contact with the delivery person since they’re from Doordash apparently. I realize I ordered late in the night, but still this app is mediocre. Ordering through the app simply takes you to their website instead of handling it all within the app. I will be deleting the app after my delivery is received. Please do not waste storage space and data on this app.

This company has contempt for its customers. The app rarely works. The company apparently could care less because it has not been fixed for weeks. It doesn’t bother Kura that customers waste time attempting to get their broken app to work.

Got finessed. Kura told me to download the app to use their virtual waitlist. After downloading, I had to make an account. Name, phone number, email, text verification, etc. The whole 9. Then, when I went to the wait list section. It says walk ins only. I call them to confirm how long the wait is and they said 2 and half hours. Nah, I’m good b. Y’all some personal info scammers. Du maaaa. Finessed me for my information! Not cool man.

Worst Sushi App! Slow! Asks for name & phone txt confirmation over & over. What is the point of having a Sushi App & Reward Program if the app keeps asking for the name of the Member every time they open the app, every time they begin an order and every time they go to checkout the order, worst part is the app keeps asking for phone confirmation via sms txt every time you want to order. What a waste of time. Gimme a break.

App mostly works. The wait list is working for me, and overall seems to have been improved and working. It helps beating the long lines at the metro Phoenix, AZ locations.

It has one major function and doesn’t work. The major use for this app is to add yourself to the waitlist and monitor wait times. Having been unable to select the location makes the app pointless. Also, not empowering employees at the restaurant to add guests manually makes this a frustrating visit even before I get there. Don’t do a waitlist if you don’t want to. But don’t give an option that doesn’t work.

Order working. Tried to use the order function on the app. The app opened but the order function never did. Kura has awesome sushi but not so good app developers. -Note this resolved itself later the same day. Seemed to be a website issue rather that the app itself. Giving the app three stars for now since I won’t try the order function until my next sushi order ( perhaps next week).

Data harvesting junk. Went through the entire process of creating an account and giving them all my info and first more just to get on the wait list. I selected my store, and BAM, couldn’t register. Called the store, listened to 3 minutes of blah blah blah until I got the info to get in contact with someone (it’s the number 4). Only to be told that I couldn’t get in the wait list because of a 3 hour wait. I understand the wait, no problem. But 5-10 minutes farting around with and app and phone calls. What the H y’all.

Registration is broken. Wouldn’t let me register kept giving me a network connection error then said I had already registered and then my password didn’t work. Reset my password twice and the new passwords didn’t work either. Think it’s just broken. My connection is fine.

Works great!. Despite bad reviews I gave app a chance and it worked perfectly. Waitlist, check in and payment with ease.

Broken rewards. The rewards system is completely broken. When you pay the check through the phone, they tell you to put your email so the rewards are counted. It never happens, and they cannot do anything at the store for those check that are paid by the phone. Meantime, they encourage you to pay with the phone. Useless app. Downloaded the app for the 5$ off every 50 spent but didn’t found anywhere in the app to accept the coupon. The webpage will pop up if you try to place the order in the app, no sure what benefits you can get in this app

Cant clear my selections for location. Cant clear the Kura search/ reservation menu..

Terrible on all fronts. Not only is the app completely worthless, if you call for help they refuse, and refer you back to the app. Terrible experience all around.

Horrible app horrible experience. Horrible horrible app where twice it has given us inaccurate wait times that resulted us getting kicked of the queue and reset our wait time.

Bad system. Waitlist function is totally disfunctional. I live 30 minutes away. When I joined the waitlist it said 185 minutes. 20 minutes later my table got called. Got to the restaurant and had to argue with the waitress to get a table. Y’all should fix this!

App doesn’t work for anything!. There’s a button for selecting which restaurant, but it doesn’t work. Only jersey city is visible. Can’t change. There’s a button for “join waitlist”, but it does nothing. Restaurant’s phone message says to install the app to check wait times, but this functionality isn’t present either. I think the app is just a non-functional gimmick to capture email addresses for marketing.

Asinine Predatory Business Practice. It is disgusting to have to download an app, create an account, and verify my phone number just to join the waitlist. It’s sad we are at a point with society where I have to give up personal data and privacy just to have a fun meal.

Deceptive. Install the apps because voice mail said use it for wait list. Once installed all restaurants are walk only.

LIVE UPDATES ARE A MUST. What’s the point of joining a waiting list if your table is going to be given to someone else without your notification? This needs to be fixed, asap ☝🏾

Says walk ins only :/. The whole reason i got the app was so that i could be on the waitlist so i wouldnt have to wait as long when i got there. But it says they only accept walk in’s so the app is pretty much useless

What is the point. Downloaded the app to get on the waitlist. Waitlist isn’t available on the app for some reason. Said the estimated wait time is 6 hours. How can that be accurate??

Can't select Kura that I want.. The app automatically selects the closest kura and you can't change which one you actually want to get on the wait list for. I live near three, and the closest one isn't always the one I want to go to...

1 little issue. The app is great but I’m not getting text msgs when the order is ready.
