Easy and reliable (in Maine at least). Umo was super reliable for me. I see other reviews claiming that it was inaccurate and difficult to use, but my experience was the opposite. I opted to upload a cash balance to the app, and boarding the bus worked perfectly every time. The app was also super reliable and accurate in my experience. I was staying in Portland, ME at the time, and the arrival times were always accurate. I loved that you could type in your destination and it would give full directions to that location(directions to bus stop, bus route, then direction from bus stop, etc). I also loved the gps feature allowing you to track the bus as it approached different stops, I even got notifications when I was close to my stop so that I could signal to stop. This app was incredibly helpful for me, I 100% recommend.

Good service most of the time. I find this service and mode of transportation very reliable, Most drivers are very nice and accommodating. My only issue is when the driver takes off moving before I’ve found a seat. It has caused a pulled arm muscle on occasion because I’m visually impaired ( not blind) and I’m focused on getting myself to a seat and not on the driver. I also like when the tilt is used for shorter folks like myself that find the stepping up onto the bus a bit of a challenge. Other drivers don’t even bother with it. Overall I think LTD does an amazing job.

Way to much going on. I work in IT and I can imagine the elderly trying to get information from this app, user interface wise it takes WAY to many clicks to find what you are looking for let alone if you don’t know what you are looking for. The idea of passes activating on purchasing is very odd I personally don’t want to wait in line for people trying to buy their passes depending on their cellular service ( what if someone doesn’t have service do they just not get to use the bus?!), carrying bags, children, etc is hard enough now you have to purchase your pass on the bus while juggling these things👎. There was obviously a lot of work put into this app but it doesn’t seem like it was designed around users of all ages/ technical skill. I will continue to use ride MCTS until it shut down and luckily I have a physical bus pass because I will be avoiding buying passes through the app.

Not easy. It’s not very easy, I would say impossible, to change anything on my account (like a credit card number).

I miss the old app. With the old app I use to purchase tickets in advance so that it’ll be ready for when I need them. I purchased tickets tonight since I have to be somewhere tomorrow and the ticket is already ACTIVATED!!! So I’m now out of $2 and when I tried to see if it’ll let add my kids to my account like the old account does, and nope… doesn’t give the option to add multiple passengers AND it removed my $2 pass and told me “ this ticket is no longer active” ummmm excuse me, how??? Only 3mins went pass. I’m uninstalling this app and will go back to the m-card. This here not it! Everything doesn’t need a change, and this is one of them. The old app was much better.

The app doesn’t work. “Something went wrong” has been on here for two days

Terrible User Interface and Inaccurate Information. I have never taken the time to write a review for an app before but my experience attempting to use UMO has been so frustrating thus far I actually feel compelled to dissuade anyone else from trying the same unless it is absolutely necessary. Firstly, the user interface is awful, confusing, unresponsive, and forces you to backtrack constantly for no reason. Secondly, the filters that are supposed to allow you to more accurately search for bus routes don’t clarify anything or provide you with the actual bus schedule I had to look up the schedule for both bus lines that I was trying to use online because the app was so unreliable. Overhaul literally the entire thing if you’re trying to fix it I can’t fit in a single blurb every poor design choice that I’ve noticed right off the bat like the map’s poor functionality, the strange account creation method, etc. Not Good.

It’s alright but still needs some attention and work. I’m at 15 year old high school student in San Francisco and since my mom is a hard working person she can’t take me school often. Instead of assuming a wait time for the bus I downloaded UMO. It was actually fine at first and I actually got to school in time sometimes. But later in the year (this year) the app will tell me the time for when my bus arrives but shows up 3 minutes before that. And this doesn’t happens sometimes this happens A LOT. If y’all can UPDATE y’all app or something cuz it’s not being useful rn

Where did my locations go?. This app never was particularly easy to use with the need to scroll endlessly thru transportation organizations far from my location. It did allow for the saving of common destinations and then would recommend the correct transportation service available. Recently is stopped tracking on of the two more common lines that I would use. Then today it dropped the saved locations entirely with no apparent way to create them again. The only thing it was allowing me was to hail Uber or Lyft, with no information being available about transportation stops near me, or even ones I’d manually selected. If I scrolled thru the dozens of localities services that have no use to me (taking more than a few minutes) until my own services were available all it would tell me is that that line/service is no longer available. This being untrue as I watched busses and trains roll on by. Maybe this will be fixed in an update, maybe this app will go away later today. Who knows, and I don’t care. It is completely unreliable and poorly constructed UI makes it painful to use.

Trash. This app is trash, for many reasons. There’s no live tracking of the buses like nextbus used to do. Not only seeing where the bus is on a map but now the estimate of minutes till arrival is gone. Which overall makes the app pretty useless. If I wanted the set schedule of the bus, I would check the bus’s website. So, if and when a bus is early or late, too bad for you because this app won’t tell you. There’s no interface to show you all the nearby buses at once. So when trying to decide which line to hop on, you have to toggle between the map and clicking that individual bus stop. IF you already know where the stop is. Next, the stations map automatically puts you where you were when you last used it, instead of where you are at the moment, which is not intuitive? Not these tech people, who have probably never ridden a single bus, make an app for people who rely on transit to get around and make it 10x more difficult. And no I don’t want your boiler plate reply, “we appreciate your feedback” - just fixing your trash app.

Better platform but there are issues. Nice platform, easy to navigate but some of the tracking times disappear for some lines which can confuse users on when a bus will be coming. I also don’t like that you can’t save your tickets to use when needed. I personally like buying more than one ticket at a time so I have it ready for the days of the week that I use the bus system and I’m not able to do that which has made tickets that I have bought as a waste rather than a gain. The previous manager this better.

Adjusting But Great App, Very Intuitive!. Great developers, I can tell this was a collaboration of great minds coming together. I love and rely on Public Transportation. It has been a part of my Transformation as a Human Being, it is important to slow down and connect with people of all races, creeds, and religions in different ways. And what better way than crossing paths in our journey to our destination. The Joy is not getting there it is who you meet along the way! Great Job to Everyone Involved in this Apps Conception, Development, Implementation and Deployment!

Fix this please!. I decided to buy a bus pass from this app to test it out. The app is a bit confusing to use. There should also be more features when it comes to updating your profile like adding/changing payment methods, the option to delete your account, etc and not just updating your name and contact information. The bus schedules were also confusing to read, and the alert when bus is near feature didn’t even work. There might be things that I just didn’t know how to use, but the app is definitely not user friendly like the MCTS app. With the old app, it’s just one and done. That’s it. When I showed the bus driver the new pass, they didn’t even know what it was! I was almost not let on the bus, but luckily they let me on. Please, if y’all are going to introduce a new app, at least let all the bus drivers know about it and what the new pass looks like. Gonna stick to the old app for now. Please fix this!

Very Unreliable. Has given me incorrect times on when I’m going to reach my destination and does not give me updates on route changes. The notification that’s supposed to let you know when you’re bus is coming almost never works.

Wastes my time and money.. I can’t tell you the amount of times this app has made me late for stops and has overlapped two buses to an insane degree. It put me on a route where the trip to my next bus was 30 minutes when the bus itself was arriving in 20. I don’t understand why it insists on overlapping rides that you can’t make. I end up having to waste money on an Uber because the UMO app is too unreliable. Not only that but even when I’m on schedule it just won’t show some arrival times if they’re too small. For example, I had a bus that was 5 minutes away and then another that was 40. It would only show the 40 minute one until last minute making me think I missed my bus. What is this bizarre system where you get punished for time management?

Deletes passes and history. Bus passes are scammy purchase at your own risk 😬

Timing off. Your timing is off way off. He told me to leave at 9:59 AM to catch this bus. This bus has been passed me by two minutes but it just gave me notification that my bus is arriving. I don’t know what is wrong with this app but when it comes to the red line, the 80 and 12 is not up, not to mention, it tells me to get off in 39 I’m not going to the end of the line, please figure this out I ain’t got time for this unload and reload a different app and remind you from where I live on 14th St. and it is exactly a nine minute walk to the bus stop not a four minute walk. Not a five minute walk. You guys have got to figure this out because because you’re causing an inconvenience. And the route 80 I’m about to get on it not even instead of part of the list. It’s 10:17 PM.

It’s fine but needs work. All the stuff works. Planning stuff is kind of confusing tho. When I want to go to a bar and the bus is a 10 minute walk it doesn’t account for that walk. It only tells you how long until the bus comes, not when you should start walking. It would help if it told you when to leave your house/starting point rather than just how long till bus comes. Missed multiple busses because of that. Also I wish there was a way to quickly access the bus pass to scan so I’m not fiddling with my phone while the bus is waiting for me to scan. It should be a quick button to tap to access pass from wherever you may be on the app so you tap scan and then go back to the commute

Technology literate and still frustrated.. This app has nonsensical time suggestions, such as my current issue. According to Umo there will be no bus at Prospect & Juneau until 11pm. Seeing as it’s 8:41pm and I’m currently physically on a bus going to that stop, a fifteen minute ride at most, one might be able to understand my irritation. The time suggestions are also useless - I don’t want to do math just to figure out when a bus will come. I don’t care if it’ll be at the stop in 3, 17, and 39 minutes — just show me the actual (estimated) times.

Apps ok but it needs a lot of work.. Positive: being able to see what routes need to get to destination and time frame Negative: if a bus stop is temporarily out of service the app shouldn’t be saying that this is your stop if your route requires transfers especially when you enter in the information on where your headed and where you are starting from. Because of this I ended up have to wait for about an hour for a bus the app was saying to arrive at my location but it wasn’t and ended up have to pay for another bus fair since my transfer right expired because of the misinformation

No option to get a basic one way fare. In my city a one way ticket is 1.50. But in the app you can load your account with a 5 dollar minimum, or you can buy a day pass for a dollar more. There isn’t a good reason to omit the 1.50 option. If you going to do business with our community than you need to respect the pricing we set. It really is that simple.

Upgrade. Once I learned how to work the new app I found it to be more accurate then the last app. However, I think the Bus Drivers still has access to change the time like they on their route because it showed a Bus at my stop in five minutes. The Bus showed up almost twenty minutes later. So I thought I had to wait 40 minutes on a Sunday for ttt he e next bus. But the bus showed up twenty minutes laterlike it wasn’t late.

As of 7/5/21, awesome app. Umo may be having growing pains, but I’m finding it extremely useful and full-featured. It’s clear that the developers have listened to feedback and made improvements to address pain-points in the app. I have to believe that many of the negative reviews are from folks that missed the in-app notifications that real-time data wasn’t yet available in their neighborhood. As a software interface professional, I might quibble with some of the minor design decisions made, but all-in-all, I find it quite usable. Regarding the complaints about the app being too dense, bear in mind that the app is displaying information for *all* the transportation options in your area, e.g. bus, lightrail, heavyrail/train, ferry, bike, walking, and ride sharing services like Lyft/Uber; that’s eight categories and each of the transit options may have multiple routes. If you want to narrow the choices down, try using the Filter drop-down menu that’s above most lists of route options. Once you find the route or station you’re looking for, you can favorite it so it’s super easy and fast to locate again. Kudos the the developers for tackling a challenging problem—with tens, if not hundreds of use-cases—and delivering a very accessible and relatively easy-to-use solution.

Getting better…. I see a lot of complaints from one agency’s riders. They liked the old app better. Change is rough. And if ain’t broke don’t fix it… as for my experience being new to any app for ticketing, using Umo for the first time was confusing, but they seem to be making progress. Now that I’ve been using it for a while I like it. I wish the trip planning feature included the bus tracking (being able to see the bus in real-time feature) like transit app. Transit app is amazing. But they don’t have my tickets. I’d love to have transit app sell tickets to my local agency that is using Umo’s fareboxes. Also sometimes the app doesn’t work when I board. Or takes the incorrect fare. The driver says “everything looks good” on their end, like the route sign is correct etc. but for some reason the app or reader takes more money or doesn’t like my pass… Because I transfer a lot I like the trip planner. Just wish it was more like transit app. And because I rider regularly I like the convenience of the mobile tickets and the discounts!!

A nice all-in-one app for my daily commute. I was tired of running to the ticket machine or making sure my card was always charged up with money, and this app makes it easy to make sure I’m prepared to board as I’m sprinting for the bus. I don’t understand the bad reviews where people complain about the bus being late and blaming the app for it. The app is powerful but it can’t control traffic! It’s a great app, though I wish the directions map showed my bud in real-time so I know where it is exactly. Please add this!

Nope. Don’t leave a copy pasted answer. Thanks. :) Attempted to give the app the benefit of the doubt and was excited to do so. Made an account and was willing to buy a pass (even though it auto activates) to test it out. But nope. My card details are wrong. How are you going to tell me my card number, expiration date and cvv are wrong ? It’s my card. It’s a normal debit Mastercard and there’s no mention on the app of no debit Mastercards. I had no problem adding it on the old app. Clearly, you all need to go back to the drawing board considering the VARIOUS issues and COMPLAINTS that you’re having. I’ll take my chances with the M Card and the MCTS Tracker until this improves.

Least helpful search function, huge disappointment. HUGE disappointment to say the least, essay below. It’s pretty clear of the design team of this app has never used their product before, doesn’t do so regularly, or just don’t care about ease of use. Imagine yourself in the following typical user scenario: You set the metro location you want routes for. You authorize the application to use your location. You go to search for something, input the name & city. The first results are listings out of state, and nothing nearby. You put in an exact street address and it routes to a location miles away. Now tell me, what logic went into making the algorithm for searching not show things by distance first? What logic went into having the algorithm know the metro area that you use and your location and did not show you the results close to you first? Rhetorical questions of course. If you don’t know for sure the name of the business or if it is in your city, the app is absolutely worthless. You’re better off using you’re devices native navigation app, even if it doesn’t come with one.

Would not recommend. At first I made my account and added $10 worth of fare money onto the app to use on the ORBT bus (the only bus I ride) and the first trip worked out alright, cost $1.25. Then a few days later the remaining $8.75 disappeared from my account so I emailed their support and never heard back. I then found ORBT on twitter and commented my issue on one of their tweets and a few days later they helped me out reimbursing me the full $10 as well as offering to have the money put onto a physical card which I did! Once I received the card in the mail, I wasn’t sure if it was activated or if it had the funds added yet so I went back to the Umo app, tried to sign in but my account username/password was wrong? I changed the password and tried again to sign in but it would not let me sign in no matter what. After deciding to go to their kiosk at the 24th and Dodge stop to pay for a pass there with the card the machine declined the Umo card. What the heck. At this point I don’t even care about losing my money. I’m just going to go back to paying for a pass whenever I need one at the physical kiosk. Not worth all the technical problems.

Poor real time location of bus.. This app does a much worse job of giving you the real time arrival time of a bus that it shows you when it routes your trip. It is rare that it gives you a close prediction. I have often walked away from a stop because it tells me the next bus is 15 minutes away only to have the bus roar past me when I am one block away. Old app used to be pretty accurate on real time arrival projections. This app is awful. Real time bus locations just can’t be counted on in any way.

Fairly useful, but could use improvements. This app is handy to use and easy to use. I would suggest that maybe they add a little more detail about where to find the specific numbers if busses at the stations. The transit district I use has alphabetical bays, but busses are identified by number. The station itself could do a better job of identifying where to find specific bus numbers, but it would help to have this app provide the bay letters to find busses at stations as well. It would also be handy to have a better idea of where the bus is in the route to better determine if the bus is running late when not at a specific stop when expected or if maybe clocks are off and the bus had already gone by.

My go to for trip planning by bike and transit. I’m a long time commuter who likes to bike/walk to the bus or train and take public transportation the rest of the trip. My previous go to was Google Maps when I lived in Sydney and then Transit when I moved back to America. Lately, however, I find myself using Umo more often than either of those apps. Umo always recommends multi-modal routes that the other apps won’t for some reason. Additionally I’ve found it’s usually more accurate than the alternatives. More than once in the last month I’ve caught the bus after a bike ride, making my connection and shaving time off my trip.

Late buses. Seems like the tracker doesn’t work, people intend to get on certain buses to get to work or school on time we can’t do that if they’re always late

Can’t do simple tasks. I just want to check using real time tracking when my bus will come to my stop. I can’t do that easily. It’s very frustrating because the app seemings well designed but completely fails to just let me see when my bus is coming. It’s clear the developers live somewhere urban with many transport options and try to provide rich solutions for transport. However, for those of us who don’t live in San Diego it’s excessively complex to the point of being unusably frustrating to check a live bus arrival time. Incredibly disappointing an app with this much work put into it fails to deliver the most simple task. I don’t want to have to sort through 15 bus lines at a potential stop, I want to just check one bus at one stop, I don’t want to have to tell you where I live to check that bus or where I’m going. I just want to check for my bus.

Frustrating app. I am a student and this app is the most frustrating thing. First off to get free student passes its an extremely confusing process. My tuition pays for this yet I can barley use the benefits. Second off the app constantly logs me off and when I put in my phone number or log in information it doesn't work. So when I cant use my student pass and try to buy a pass it doesnt let me due to the fact I need to log in or use my number. And if by some miracle it does work, half the time it doesnt even let me buy a pass. One of the worst things was taking away showing our student IDs as a pass cause the app barley works. Not to mention if a phone dies you cant do anything.

I will never understand …. My county bus had its OWN app for years. Why they switched to this is beyond me. The other app let you select routes based on their number and showed you fairly accurate GPS locations for all of the active buses on said route. This app, you buy a ticket that AUTOMATICALLY activates!! Which means if you’ve got your day planned and buy a 105min ticket in advance, it could be expired by the time you leave. Which is an absolute nightmare! Not to mention, it doesn’t account for walking to and from stops like the other app did. You have NO idea where the buses are; you’re at the mercy of the number of minutes the app says being accurate. It has icons for delays and detours but doesn’t explain what, why or how long. So what’s the point of that if the arrival time is supposedly accurate? We have all this wonderful technology - why did we go backwards by switching to a vastly inferior app? But the other is no longer supported so you literally have no choice.

Stuck at the bus stop for long periods of time. Umo kind of worked when I started using it a few weeks ago, I like the aesthetics, but it is insanely unhelpful and leaves me sitting at the bus stop for 15 minutes on more than one occasion. The times are definitely misleading, and you have to click the stop to actually see when it MIGHT come instead of seeing times in real time. Also it’s not very intuitive when you are trying to look up various routes, you have to sift through so many different bus lines that aren’t even in the area. It’s a pain and I miss the NextBus app 😞

REPORT TO APPLE IMMEDIATELY. This app has been continuously messing up, and the only thing that developers are doing our plane in the T pose even know the details are saying they have nothing to do with it. I can’t imagine it would be the depot so if it’s happening to everybody on this app, just look at the reviews this is happening across multiple depots in the developers on the app. Do not want to take responsibility. They just want to keep taking peoples money. Go to the bottom of this apps page and REPORT TO APPLE for fraudulent scam activity. If they will not do anything about it, the more people that report this app can get this app taken down through Apple.

Needs to be improved. This app should have a GPS on the bus to see where the bus is since sometimes it is early or late. The schedule continues to grey out the time even if the bus hasn’t actually arrived. This is misleading as then passengers won’t know if they are late or early and cannot make proper accommodations afterwards. The only way I can see the live location of a bus is if I have directions on and am on the bus myself. Ridiculous. I already know where it is in that case! Other than that, app would probably be 3.5/5. I think the design could be improved to be more user friendly and efficient.

Payment method hard to update. Like another user stated, changing the method of payment (new credit card) was very difficult. You go to Change, add new payment method, enter in all details, Continue, and the next screen doesn’t load. I deleted the app and re-downloaded it in the hopes that would fix the issue. Read the reviews while I was here… on my third try entering in the card details, I wondered if Line 2 of the Billing Address needed to be filled in. despite the fact that it’s indicated as an optional field. I entered in “1” for Line 2 of the Address even though I don’t live in an apartment and lo and behold the new card payment method was able to be submitted. App developers need to address this problem because other folks will likely not figure out this workaround.

This app steals your passes. When passes get low in a pre-paid package, the app will display 4 (or 6) available, then you try to get on the bus and you have ZERO. If you don’t have cash, now you have to pay for Uber. Your whole ride history is gone, too. You have no proof and no passes. They take no responsibility and direct you to the transit authority instead. It’s a scam.

I’m not liking this. How are tracked bus times wrong? The app said my bus (58) was supposed to get to me 45 minutes later and set me on another bus stop (12). The 58 came about 10 minutes later. The 12 was supposed to come in 7 minutes, said it was approaching and no bus came. Luckily I had money for an Uber, but guess what? The 12 that wasn’t supposed to come for another 6 minutes came right after. That’s $30 I just spent instead of $5 to get to work today, that’s not okay. The fact I HAVE to rely on this app is the worst part of the whole thing

Pathetic. After all this time and it’s still the absolutely worse transit app around. Those that respond to these reviews always blame SFMTA on the wrong data, yet NextBus has the correct times 95% of the time. Umo is 98% wrong. For example, it said my next train was 11 minutes away. NextBus said 2. Guess who was right; it was not Umo. Pathetic. Fix your app and stop blaming others

Feedback on the Transfer Times. They’re too short to get from one bus to another in the location of Wichita Falls Texas, making it almost to get around. The buses only run every hour here, and it takes almost 45 minutes to get from the east side bus pickup stop to the southeast bus pickup stop.

Great hub-based app. I’m really intrigued at how there’s so much negative feedback on this app. Compared to transit apps in other major metros, this is by far one of the most comprehensive I’ve seen. Routes and directions just based on a location is what Google Maps can do, but this has everything streamlined. I couldn’t believe the annoyance of having to load fare cards before with MCTS, how much of a process it was, etc. Having real-time fare payments added to this, as well as a nice interface is a total godsend compared to most apps out there. Not sure how recent the departure options were added as a feature on route planning, but that addresses 90% of the negative comments I see here.

This is not a transit app. I take the city bus to work, five days a week, and my city recently transitioned to this app for public transit payments and schedules. NOTHING about this app is designed for this use case. The home screen is focused around “getting directions”, the logo is insultingly childish, ads for Uber and Lyft are suggested as “alternatives” to the bus route, and the whole app seems designed for some hypothetical naive youth excited to explore a new city, not adults who rely on public transit as part of their regular transportation. Y’all should consider hiring someone who has actually used public transit and the user experience will immediately improve.

Frustrated with its inaccuracy. I have missed every single bus due to inaccuracy of the stop location or time. The routes on the app have the correct routing but the times and specific bus stop locations are not accurate. There needs to be a tool to submit location changes to stops on the app because every time I either need to cross a busy intersection or chase the bus down because I end up in the wrong spot. Maybe I’m not a frequent enough rider to have some common sense but this wasn’t exactly accurate. Payment is easy though.

Poor replacement for Nextbus. This app came along, unwanted and unexpectedly, as a replacement for Nextbus. It’s a poor substitute. It’s most annoying feature is that it requires you to state a destination as well as a starting point. Once you’ve done, it only shows you how long it will be before the bus arrives at the pickup spot and the route between pickup and destination. All other information on the busses along the route are not shown. Are there three buses coming in a row? Is a second bus way behind the first or close? This app won’t tell you. It also makes you jump through a lot of hoops to see the entire route, and even then doesn’t clear information on the route. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Useless. Standing at a bus stop and wanting to figure out when the next bus will arrive. I just had to give up. They try to sell me tickets, they give me a route planning feature (which the maps app does better), but the one and only function this could be useful for is either hidden extremely well, or simply missing The developer’s response, unfortunately, is just as besides the point as the app is useless: If the app cannot display arrival times of the next bus at my current location, it does not matter if my transit agency has a good or a bad GPS system on their buses. A hint for the developers: How about making an app that users actually WANT to use - before trying to sell them something? The low average rating of the app, unfortunately, says it all

Lack of Transparency & Buses not Running. THIS CITY NEEDS TO GET ITS TRANSPORTATION ACT TOGETHER!!! We like to ride the ORBT downtown for Creighton games and events at The Riverfront. Metro has removed the schedule from the Umo app and the info on the app is woefully delayed. HOWEVER, there are people who use the bus for school and work. THEY NEED RELIABILITY! It is ironic that the city is adding a street car when Metro can't keep buses running on schedule - perhaps due to lack of employees? And soon there will be more need for drivers. You want to stop the brain drain - run the buses like a real city so people can use them reliably & consistently. The youth actually give a hoot about the environment and using cars less.

Terrible!!. So many glitches make it impossible to reload more cash! I reach out for help & their solution was to tell me I was entering my card information wrong. Even though the money came out of my bank account! I showed them it was deducted from my bank so obviously the payment information i entered was correct. But Instead of loading the money to my UMO account they refunded me! I didn’t want a refund I wanted the cash transferred to my account so I could have a ride that week! This service is garbage and they make it so much harder than it needs to be for the customer.. I uninstalled and downloaded the app again, I also made a new account. Still won’t work so I still can’t ride the bus. Great job public transit.

Excellent with one note. During the signup process there wasn’t the option to auto fill fields such as email. It also made me go about creating a password in somewhat more cumbersome way than using the feature built into iPhones to allow passwords to be autogenerated. I also don’t see the option for 2FA which is pretty standard as an option for an account with stored financial value.

Senior access. This app is too hard to use. I don’t understand how to register for a senior fare for events. I did get a response from Umo that the senior and discount fares are handled through the transit company. Found you can use your credit card directly on bus. So not sure why you would need this app.

Awful….. seriously just awful. This app is awful, hard to navigate. Can’t use Apple Pay, can’t pre pay for tickets or transfers, no real time GPS, just says the bus schedule, also has too many adds for Lyft and Uber. Why is a Milwaukee county transit app, promoting Lyft and Uber? GARBAGE! I would not recommend downloading or using at all. Whoever made this obviously doesn’t use the Milwaukee transit system and is completely out of touch with its patrons.

App would be fine if the payment processor functioned consistently. I don’t use the app for tracking my bus line, since I’ve got a more accurate tracking app already. My issue is that for some reason, about 80% of the time, the app won’t let me change a payment method, so I end up missing my bus because the app won’t function. This would be fine if the app would at least let you save multiple payment methods, but no. Please add Apple Pay support or at least the ability to save more than one payment method.

Inaccurate. ETAs for the bus is always off. I’ve missed two just this past week because it will say the bus is 8 minutes away and then 30 seconds later it’s 4 minutes away. What?! The schedule and lines function always give different information. This app is a hot mess. But I guess good service is hard to find when it comes to public sectors.

Needs improvement. It’s convenient and I like that. I would like to see an in-depth transaction history. I would like to see each time the money is removed when I ride the bus. It’s a little strange how sometimes it does it seem to take money off and then famine takes a larger some off at one time so it’s hard to know exactly where you are. Please fix this. otherwise I do like the convenience of the app.

Absolute garbage. Why can't Milwaukee figure out how to have a fully functional and reliable app? Cities all around the world have done it, but this app like the last one is garbage. It's difficult to get information about the next two or three buses and even the supposed "real time" GPS based tracking is a lie. Over and over I have been left standing at the bus stop when according to the app a bus arrived and left while I was standing there. The only bus at this stop is the 15 so it's not like I am misreading the bus numbers. The phantom bus never arrived! Get your crap together MCTS!

Virtually Useless. This app is virtually useless for actually finding out when a bus is coming. It almost never displays real-time data, and essentially just displays the bus schedule- it’s about as useful as looking at a piece of paper with the expected bus arrival times. On numerous occasions it has told me a bus is coming at a certain time when it has already passed, and also has told me a bus has already passed when in reality it hasn’t. I’m going back to Next Bus.

Absolutely awful. This app is so god awful …….It never gives me correct information. there was a detour in my normal route and it ended up taking me nowhere near my actual destination with no way to get back except uber, and this has happened several times. I hate this app with a passion. The setup is also super confusing and good luck figuring anything out without taking ten wrong routes first.

App not fully accessible. I have a very difficult time with the app, because I am blind and it is not fully accessible, which is very disappointing, considering you have two blind people on the chair of your business. hi Kris and Judy Jones, maybe you could do something about this or push it through so it's more accessible for everyone?

Won’t take my payment. For over two weeks, I received a “try again later” message when I tried to use a saved debit card to pay for a bus pass. After a few days, I added a different payment method, in case it was me/ that bank. Nope. I still have not been able to ride the bus with this app, and there seems to be no way to get actual help. What a waste of Milwaukee’s energy, to work with this company. The transit system’s own app was 1000 times more user friendly.

Seems cool, but it’s not. The app is really hard to use when trying to nail down a schedule. Do a search and it’ll tell you when a bus is leaving from a stop. Select that ride and the departure time is suddenly changed to something completely different and you wind up wasting time at the stop waiting for a bus arriving much later than proposed

Slow worse than NextBus. The app is slow to calculate. Does not show many options into the future and you have to close out and start over because it doesn’t refresh. No option to ask what routes are near me without putting in an address

I would give this a 5 star but. I’ve been using Umo for months and and had no problem with it until recently! I would use Umo to get home and go to work just one tap away and it would give me various bus routes with nearly 100% exact time of arrival. No problems at all and I loved the app! But now when I try to get anywhere it is not showing my a list of bus lines ! It’s not showing me anything except how much the Uber/Lyft rides are and how long it takes me by bike! What happened to the bus routes and bus times! What happened Umo!

Always late for the bus. They need to fix their bus times. Every time I check the umo app to see when the bus comes, I leave on time and then the bus comes 10-15 minutes before the umo app says it’s supposed to. I’m always close enough where I can see the bus go by, but too far away to run for it. Being late for the bus is super frustrating because then I have to pay for an uber to go where I need to go instead. The bus times just need to be more accurate. Otherwise, the app is great.

Horrible and too busy. I’m just trying to see the next real time bus arrivals times like I used to every morning. This app is all over the place with icons and maps. There should be a way to simplify to just see real time arrivals at the line you are at for people who commute everyday rather than tourists. It’s mixing scheduled times with real times and different agencies and stops etc. I don’t need a video game to see what time my bus is coming

Bus app. The last bus app was a lot better, you we’re able to see where the bus was. This still has real time so you may have it half right. Also when purchasing a ticket, it’s automatically activate it self. That’s no good, what if I want to buy some passes for the week? Can’t do that, the person who buys the ticket should be able to activate it her/him self when getting on the bus. Please change that if you don’t change anything else please change that. Now you don’t have day passes and I hate that.

Will not update payment method. I used Umo happily for a couple years. Recently, I had a security issue and changed my credit card. After putting in all the details on the change payment page, I hit Continue and nothing happens. I have tried several times over the last month. I guess I will have to stop using it when my current pass runs out. The website is no help, either.

Only works when it feels like it. Half the time it won’t notify me when my line’s arriving. Sometimes it’ll say so when I’m actually on the bus and pulling away from the station. Arrival times are off too, especially the #5 here. Today I had to get a cab because the app didn’t track a bus right (again). It just skipped to the next bus, so the bus I was there for and the cab arrived at the same time.

Don’t count on this app for accuracy. Just to list one of example. Yesterday, I was attempting to get the 3:05 bus at Mercy Fore River. The app said 7 minutes for bus arrival, which would have around 3:07. As I walked to the bus stop at 3pm, the bus went flying by at 3:03! There have been times when I’m at the bus stop and the app says, for example, 7 minutes and the bus is literally 60 seconds from the stop. Or, the time for bus arrival can jump from 12 minutes to 3 minute and back up to 14 minutes. Useless app!

Logistical Nightmare. Literally overly complicated for no reason. I found it almost impossible to make any sense of the app for my needs (find the live time of bus arrivals). Instead the app seems to be focused on being an alternative waymo/google maps. But it hasn’t gotten down the foundation of why most of its users are even aware of its existence….transit arrival times. Advice: Properly fulfill the needs of your users before moving on to being mediocre at something else that already exists.

Useless. Easily to most useless app I’ve ever tried. I can get the bus schedule from their website, and do you really think I need you to tell me how long it will take me to walk to my local bus stop? How sad that this crap is intended to be a replacement for Next Bus, which actually showed useful info like when the next bus was going to arrive. The good news is it’s easy to delete; guess what I’m doing next…

Worse than NextBus. In a lot of ways this is a better looking, worse version of NextBus. Just this morning I stood waiting for a bus that would never show up. While I stood there I checked NextBus and it showed me the bus wasn’t coming and I could see on the map where the next bus was. It’s frustrating when you know it’s possible for them to get it right and they don’t.

Lack of help. I have tried to get in contact with the service no one is helping me, I have had several transaction history with the same credit card and the app keep saying something went wrong or the card details are wrong. The card details are not wrong and I’ve constantly had to miss the bus to work because the app would not work for me.

Five Shining Stars. I am really thankful for this app! I love that I can enter my arrival time. It’s also gives a friendly assist when typing in places. I’ve found it to be smart in a few additional ways as well. Bravo!

fine but frequently wrong about times. This app was working fairly well until recently when I’ve missed several buses due to incorrect times being posted...not sure where to look for accurate times

Agreed. I have to agree with previous reviewer, the data is there to show real-time location of a bus as another “transit” app uses the same data from our transit provider and shows where the bus is. While it’s location may be off by about a minute you at least have a general idea. The app is good at route planning and the times are generally accurate but having bus location is a plus.

Same issues. I just got a brand new phone I was able to port some things onto it and I was able to port the app on this new phone but it’s showing that is empty on the old phone. It has money on there and I know what you’re probably thinking use that old phone but I would like to be on this phone that I have now how can I do that, by the way, I do not like the new system

Wish it had live mapping. I wish this app had live bus tracking like my old app did. I do like that it gives you multiple commute options and includes walk time, however it doesn’t let you change to select your preferred route if 2 are very similar. The app works well and is a good basic, but I look forward to seeing the enhancements they make as the app grows.

Easy to use and convenient!. I visited a new area and was a bit lost and unsure which bus line to take. The app made it super easy to find the fastest route home. Probably would’ve gotten lost without it!

Constantly having payment issues. It’s frustrating enough that the bus tracking capability in the app has recently stopped working (especially when drivers are always late or early, it’s really hard to plan). The biggest issue is that the developers are VERY aware that users are repeatedly experiencing issues adding money to their pass on the app, and the feedback is just to make sure the card is not expired. That’s clearly not the issue, but they’re not working to fix it.

Stop overriding my accessibility settings. This app is great for handling my bus fare every day, but every time I launch it, it overrides my screen brightness settings and pumps it up to maximum. I have migraines and maximum brightness is painful even in dark mode. There is nowhere on the developer's website to report this issue, either. I can't tell if that's a massive oversight or a shunting of responsibility. Either option does not inspire confidence in the developers.

Marginally functional. Number one, why does a pass activate automatically the minute you purchase it? Why can’t I buy it and then choose to activate it later at a time of my choice? Most other transit apps allow this. Number two, why does the routing function regularly tell me to walk past multiple stops on mh route? It makes all times completely inaccurate. Number three, why is there no GPS bus tracking? This is another pretty basic transit app feature.

Buying passes. The app was great at first I was able to get my bus pass but for the last three months I haven’t been able to it continually says an error has occurred no matter what I do I keep having to go to the bus station office to get my bus pass I would definitely look into getting this fixed it is majorly inconvenient

Inconsistent. Why can I not get money on my account sometimes but sometimes it works? I randomly get (something went wrong try again later) notices for a week then it will work again. This app should work better if it’s tied to a real world infrastructure. I understand we live in a world where complacency is ok but you folks aren’t doing a good job and people depend on you. Be better.

Buggy, fails without explanation. I can’t add funds because my credit card expired. When I go to enter a new card (which of course doesn’t allow use of Apple’s built-in saved credit card numbers), nothing happens when I press “continue.” No failure message, but my card is not updated. Just brings me back to the same screen to enter my card information. So I can’t use the app at all.

App won’t even load. I open the app and it won’t even load. Simply gives the error message “Something is not working. Make sure you have an active internet connection and try again.” I have triple checked my WiFi connection, have tried shutting off WiFi and use only 5G, have shut down the app and reopened, have turned off my phone and restarted, and have verified that I am running the most current version of the app. Nothing fixes the issue and allows it to load.

Gives directions and Uber/Lyft options! SMH. Why would I need a bus app to tell me to Uber? Then when you finally find the bus, the bus that says you can only buy a ticket through this app, Guess what!? Yeah you can’t buy a ticket smh But thanks for the directions and the map you provide that would work great to run behind the bus hearing people yell something about Forest. Stop with all the extra worthless functionality that 5 other billion dollar apps already do and work on the 50cent thing this goofy app is suppose to do!

Needs Work. Needs a lot of work. I’m tired of spending time listing all the things that are wrong with a particular app. It’s not my job to fix your app. Just try to use it as a regular person would use it. Then you’ll see how annoying and frustrating your app is, which will hopefully provide motivation to fix it.

Awful. UI is so counter intuitive. The basic feature I would want like the live feed of arrivals for 3-4 stations I typically use, bookmarked on the main screen. I don’t need the “plan a trip” for everyday transit. I know my commute. What I want to know is when the bus is coming so I can head to the stop ok time. This app is so clunky and cumbersome to use.

Opinion on the app. In our settings you should be able to set your preferences to whatever one you want but it stays stuck on the bus transit and I can’t get the preference to change to the buses. Which would help by a long shot if you could choose your bus car share or bike in the beginning whenever you’re setting up your transportation Locations.

Frustrating. I downloaded the app successfully, added about $15 successfully, and suddenly when I try to add money to my account now, it doesn’t work? I’ve “come back later” multiple times and still nothing. Really not interested in a battle with an app every time I try to re-load with money.

ORBT. I have lived in many places and I am very grateful for the service that is provided for public transportation. I only ride the ORBT but it is clean punctual and the drivers are professional and helpful to passengers. Please continue to provide the public with safe and affordable transportation. Thank you.

Why is it so expensive!!!. I buy month passes I heard of this app thinking it’d make my life easier, nope not at all. I buy month passes online or at the station and it’s only 28 bucks. But on the app it’s 56 bucks and doesn’t matter what day you start on it’s not gonna be a full months worth of rides unless you start at the very beginning of the month, waste of time and money I’ll just stick to the old ways. Thanks for a crappy experience!!!

Totally bad directions. This app insisted that my bus was only .4 miles away, but failed to mention that it required me to walk through an impossibly thick patch of woods. So yeah, I walked 3 miles in the 90° weather today and was late, even though I left the house 45 minutes early. I’m sure there are other functions that work, but I’m not trusting a navigation app that can’t give simple directions.

Not Impressed. Milwaukee apparently switched their app to Umo. Despite using the bus lines daily, the first I heard of it was when the Ride MCTS app stopped working on Friday. This app is terrible - and it’s definitely more than growing pains. The maps and schedules don’t work. According to the app, the next bus is at 1am tomorrow (it’s 6pm). But the worst part is the tickets. Yes, it looks like $2 ticket is good for a longer time, but they activate on purchase. That’s going to be annoying while it’s warm out - juggling bags and masks and trying to buy your ticket. It’ll be terrible when you add gloves during the cold weather.

Pass activates the moment you buy. Getting the hang of this app a bit but one complaint I have is that when you purchase a ticket it automatically activated it. I should be able to activate my pass whenever I choose to, not upon buying the ticket. Besides that I kind of like the new app

Horrible. The worst. When selecting my destination the app would give a false time of arrival. This was often due to the arrival of the next bus going the opposite way. It gives the time to travel first and a small indication of bus arrival at that location (usually wrong). As a regular rider I’d prefer to know when the bus comes rather than how long it takes to get to my destination. On map there is no indicator for where bus is as in other apps. Overall it works but not very well.

Made great use out of!. I’m a first year college student whose saving up for a car, in the meantime I’ve needed a way to get to college and home. I was worried about it but when I started to use Umo I could plan out my bus routes and scheduling efficiently! The app is easy to navigate and use even if I’m still getting the hang of it. It’s become a great tool to help me and make college a bit less stressful.

Bugged. I have used this app for over two years now and was working great. I just got a new phone and tried to login to my account a few days ago and it wouldn’t let me in, or send an email confirmation, nothing. I went to my local bus station to see if anybody has been dealing with the same thing and the person at the front desk said it hasn’t been letting them into people’s accounts on their end. Super disappointing, I have a whole week of bus fare on there still and I need it to commute to work this week.

WILL NOT LET ME BUY PASSES. Multiple times I’ve tried and I can’t buy a pass. My card is hooked up and has money on it so it should NOT be a problem and a NUMBER OF TIMES I have gotten kicked off the bus for this inconvenience and have been late to work and getting home which has caused me a number of issues that have affected me greatly. Truly disappointed they don’t make this easier for people like me who really don’t have much
