Terrible App. I just purchased a smart Samsung TV. It’s connected to WiFi, but it keeps having a “network interference” error when I try to accept the terms and conditions, so it won’t let me use any of the features or services. So I download this app to try and work around, but the app can’t find my TV on the same network and keeps freezing up. Evidently both my problem with the TV and with this app are common issues. I highly recommend going with a different brand for the TV, and don’t waste your time with this app.

Great app!. Honestly, I didn’t expect it to work so easily and accurately but it really does. I’m leaving a 5 star review, but would also love to see a “dark mode” that could be turned on in the settings because dayum this thing looks bright at night time.

Can’t get it to work & got no help. It lists my tv but will not connect. Contacted the app customer service, got a response requesting more info with screenshots, which I sent and never heard back from them. Tried to request a refund but of course it’s outside the allotted window. I tried to get help and conveniently the app developer never responded within the window of time allowed to request a refund. Don’t waste your money. I know my phone will connect and stream to the tv because other apps do it so it’s definitely this app specifically.

Keep it simple Stupid!. All I wanted was a simple Samsung remote that could be download and operate from my phone. Why do I have to pay for crap I don’t want and wouldn’t use? It’s just supposed to be an app to control my TV. When it works it was great. Anytime I did want to use it, I had to re-log in for it to work and some of those times, it would log in. So, forget it. The TV remote that came with the TV works fine.

Does not work on my iPhone to Samsung tv. Impossible to keep working iPhone pro max 11 to my tv worked for 1 picture then locked up can not get to work will not discover tv and vice versa add keeps popping up to pay for premium and I just want it to work in standard version junk glitchy waste of time for me. I will never buy a incompatible tv probably never buy another Samsung product again im upset.

Worthless. So nevermind that one shouldn’t ever have to PAY for functionality they shipped with the TV (and then took away with this app “upgrade” aka money grab). Even if I were to be comfortable with that as acceptable, vs abuse ofconsumer trust… this app is WORTHLESS -it simply jumps between “connect to tv” and “connecting…” and never gets there -the app literally doesn’t work! I’m on the same wireless network, my TV and phone firmware are the latest, and this piece of junk just doesn’t do a darn thing.

Samsung x 2. This the second Samsung smart tv that I purchased since Christmas. The first one had a major crack in the frame upon delivery. Now, the second one has a long vertical line spanning the length of the screen. I DO NOT like returning purchases. As a thoughtful shopper who researches items, I seldom write reviews because I am accustomed to getting what I pay for . HOWEVER, the nuisance factor of returning two tvs within as many months is simply unacceptable. I’d rate this product lower if I could .

Smart indeed. I’ve tried a number of “Make your iPhone a remote control” programs and not a single one hasn’t worked until now. This remote tells me I need to be connected to the same WiFi network as my SamsungTV. That’s it. Underneath a six dot caterpillar tries to wriggle it’s way left but makes no progress. Neither will you, until... You press just left of the button and you’re connected “to the same WiFi network as your SamsungTV “ a small arrow and “press to connect” four stars, Or Maybe... skip the step altogether. Now you get five stars. Keep it simple, stupid.

Don’t purchase. I’ve tried to reach out three times and I haven’t gotten a response once. The app doesn’t connect to my tv. It had for the first 2 or 3 days. I originally tried to click on the free trial and cancelled immediately because my wife ordered a remote online. They still charged me, and now I have a year subscription. It hasn’t been working since then it’s really frustrating that I was charged even though it was a free trial.

Too much money for too many limits. 3 stars cause it does “Remote”. App and tv Need to connect to same Wi-Fi. How can I when I can’t use the app remote for the tv to do so???😡😡😡😡 What’s the point of a virtual remote. When you can’t use it? When I can use it. It times out to quick and does what it supposed to do when you (again) can access it.

Don’t bother getting this app.. This app is terrible! You have to pay to screen mirror your pictures! I just got back from vacation, and it was so easy to screen mirror our pictures every night. But this app lags behind, so that what you see on your phone isn’t even on the screen. It also keeps skipping pictures, and a picture you want to show everyone won’t display. You can’t edit, or even favorite a picture, so it’s useless if you want to decide which pics to keep and which to delete. What a waste of time! And if this is what you have to use to screen mirror on a Samsung TV, I’ll buy another brand of TV next time!

Deserves 0 Stars. Does not work Don’t bother.. I just figured out that these con artists keep you online with them (sending detailed info, screenshots, etc) then never get back to you. Why? They held you past the 2 day limit to cancel the paid subscription in time (day before the 3 day free trial expires and the paid subscription starts). Clever, but highly unethical - especially under Apple’s terms and conditions. I got the 3 day free subscription just now. Tried the app on 3 different iPhones running different iOS versions. All on same WiFi as smart TV. Each recognized the TV but nothing would work. Just a spinning wheel that never stops. Total waste of time. Apple needs to verify these con apps. (I’ve forwarded all the details to Apple already). Should have suspected something was wrong when there was no free version to test if the app really works! I canceled my subscription within 5 minutes. The help section on the app takes me to websites of their other apps - nothing about this app. Makes sense, because this isn’t an app that works.

Pay a monthly fee for a remote app? 🤷‍♂️. I bought a brand new expensive Samsung television but they still want to squeeze more money out of me by charging a monthly fee just to use a remote control app. This is beyond ridiculous, I honestly can’t believe anyone would actually be willing to pay this fee. I don’t care about any of the other stupid “features” that the “premium” version of this app has, I just wound line to be able to use my phone as a remote but it won’t work unless I pay a monthly fee. They even expect people to pay this fee just to use the app to do the initial setup. The first thing the TV tells you to do is to download this app to setup your tv and the first thing the app does is tell you to upgrade to “Premium” which really means you have to pay for the app to work. Definitely will not be considering anymore Samsung purchases. I also tried contacting them through the “contact us “ feature of the app, that was well over a week ago and surprise surprise surprise...no response. I would give negative stars if that were an option. Still no response after multiple emails sent to “app support”. Beyond Worthless!!!!

Not cool. Signed up for for 3 day trial to see if it even worked before buying the full access. After minutes of having app I uninstalled it due to lack of compatibility. Went to cancel subscription and it had already purchased it, even stating that if I did cancel it I will have access until summer of 2022. Super lame paying for an app for the next year that cant’t use it. Frustrating.

A reminder of why I left Samsung. I downloaded the app out of convenience to have an additional remote control for my tv. However, after only 1 minute of use, I'm told I have to pay for premium in order to continue using the app which is $15 a year. No thanks. I'll continue using my remote control. I will never buy another Samsung product again as they have proven that they only care about nickle and diming their customers for full utilization of products and liscences I have purchased

It actually works. So originally I left a two star review on this because I couldn't figure out how to allow permissions on my TV considering the fact that it needed me to use a remote on the TV to actually access the remote app (circular I know) but I couldn't use the remote to actually allow the permissions. But then I realized you can just plug in a keyboard into your smart TV. and press the enter button when it asks you to allow permissions and it'll work and now the application works perfectly and died so crazy turning up the volume changing channels everything works and i'm fixing to buy it once my free trial ends

This app is misleading, a complete ripoff, and should be considered a scam. This app is named very similar to a popular consumer app. Once installed and given permission to the TV, it brings up an interface to control said TV. There is a basic function and a premium function. With my experience in this app you cannot do anything, for example you can no turn up and down the volume, you can not navigate any menus of the TV, nor can you even turn on and off the TV without upgrading to premium. You can however view ads. This should be removed from the App Store.

Samsung greed. This app is not necessary to get your Samsung TV connected to the sound bar. It’s just another way greedy companies nickel and dime customers. I purchased a Samsung sound bar and was directed to this app in the setup instructions. It was not needed and you can complete the setup using the remotes for the TV and sound bar. Just look at the ridiculous subscription rate Samsung is charging. Not worth it folks.

Disappointing. This would be great if it didn’t require you to press accept on your tv, with the remote that doesn’t work….which is why you using the app to begin with. Both my phone and tv are connected to the same WiFi… but it can’t find my TV. Lots of things to fix here… but if it’s fixed it would be a life saver

Not working. I paid $20 to use my phone as a remote with this app only for it to stop working . I get a yellow exclamation point everytime I open it. I have tried deleting app and getting it again, but it didn’t work. I want a refund. I know it did not cost much, but it it the principle that the app is not working anymore. When it did work , it was great !

Deceptive App. I was setting up my new Samsung TV and the setup routine said install the SmartThings App. Somehow this app inserted a screen “Smart TV Things for Sam” and wouldn’t let me get past it until I signed up for at least a three day “Free Trial”. When it didn’t work to set up the TV, I did it over again and this time I signed up for the 19 dollar “Lifetime” license. Then I finally made it to the actual SmartThings App. I’m trying to get my money back. Really deceptive. I wouldn’t get this now if they paid me.

Hate the remote, hate this app. It was working at first but now it can’t find my tv. I’ve tried restarting the WiFi (which is already too much effort for a paid app) and still the app won’t connect. It’s already a hassle having to connect the tv every single time you open the app. Even if I switch apps for two seconds it need to reconnect. The scroll pad is too sensitive like others say. Sometimes I have to hit a button twice. It’s just too much to deal with. I wish I could refund my money.

Warning: this is not the official Samsung SmartThings app. I clicked through the App Store quickly and downloaded this app while trying to connect to my TV. This app is not from Samsung. It’s trying to look like Samsung. It connected to my TV and performed some functions. When it couldn’t do what I needed, I realized this is a third party app. Samsung’s app is “SmartThings” (one word). However, I realized this AFTER paying the app developer $20 for a perpetual license (versus $3 weekly). The pricing should have been a tip-off that this is a scammy setup. My mistake. The developer is likely making a great living from this! Congratulations! Enjoy my $20. But Samsung should complain to Apple about the brand impersonation. This is a bad experience for both Samsung and Apple customers.

Get free APP!. Every time you open app it is a two step process to connect to the TV. Free apps maintain your connectivity making it easier yo control your TV. Tried to ask a question through “contact us” and other than allowing you to create the email there send functionality is not working. Only option that works is yo cancel the email - go figure. Waste of money. Get the free Apss - GUI is much nicer as well in free App.

This is a trap. I purchased this app under the impression that it was the app I needed for my new sound bar. After I tried to use this app, i found out it did not work. No matter what i did and how much troubleshooting i did, it would not connect to my sound bar. After doing some more research I found out this wasn't even the real SmartThings app I needed. This app disguises itself as something its not to fool people and get your money. I emailed their customer service and have received no response, its been days since and not a peep from them. Stay away from this one!!

Not bad but not great. It’s definitely easier than some of the Samsung remotes however the touch pad is to sensitive sometimes when scrolling you will click on a selection when you didn’t mean to. Secondly, I cannot just walk in a room and turn on the tv. The tv must be connected to it to use it and when the tv is turned off it will not connect so you cannot use this as the sole remote. Thirdly, every time you would like to use the remote on your phone you need to connect it to the tv, I cannot find an auto connect and each time this happens you need your tv remote to then give the phone permission to connect , very annoying and cumbersome

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. This app is a scam!!!!!!!! This app contains ads that lead you to believe that you’re signing into the site but you’ve actually been directed to a fraudulent website for a streaming service. It also asked for my credit card number and said I would not be billed for the free service. However, within minutes I received two fraud notifications from my credit card company - both were for escort services…seriously. I am fortunate that I have never received fraud notifications from my credit card company, that is until today, minutes after downloading this app and trying to connect to my TV. It maybe purely coincidental that timing of these incidents occurred following the downloading of this app but I don’t think so. Deleted and feeling more at ease.

Crappy software gets in the way of great hardware!. Pay up or else. If like me you bought a TV and wanted supporting software that just did its job, you are out of luck!! The geniuses at Samsung have done a switch and bait. The crappy Smart things app was upgraded and now even the basic TV remote features is are locked behind a premium pay wall! The TV itself is great but is now crippled by pay walls, crappy software menus that haven’t changed in decades, and greed that planes user experience and satisfaction at the back. My recommendation: shop elsewhere.

Not good. If you lost your remote in the pillows and blankets and thought this app would solve the problem…you’d be wrong. The tv has to be on in order for the app to “connect”. Which means you have to actually HAVE your remote in hand. Kinda makes the app unnecessary at that point. Had the app for less than 5 mins. It has ads as well as a $20 price tag for the complete version. I’d skip this one. Just go dig for your remote.

This app is pure trash.. This app for months force closed every time I tried to open it for the first couple months I owned a Samsung TV. Then one day I decided to try it again and it took me way longer then it should to even get it to find the tv (yes my phone was connected to the same WiFi network the entire time). Once it finally found the tv I was able to connect. So after that I finally have my phone connected to the tv and I see that you have to spend 5 bucks a month to use the remote feature…. What a joke, buy a Roku tv. Comes with an easy to use remote and a phone app that isn’t garbage. Did I mention you can use everything on the Roku app for free?

So far No good. So far this app has been terrible. I have my TV connected to my Wi-Fi network. I have my phone connected to the same Wi-Fi network and have the network enabled on the app and I just get the spinning wheel of death when I try and connect my phone to my TV. I’ve submitted two requests for support and have yet to receive a confirmation that the requests were received.

App is so bad. Should you want to use the Samsung remote app, you will need to buy it. No, it doesn’t come with your multi-thousand dollar TV. You must get a monthly subscription. Can you pay extra to have your TV not listen to you and sell your data? No. Either make the app part of the support model of owning the set, or get off of the market. You are already harvesting our data, at least pretend to think of us as customers.

Do not download. Your app charged my card after I sent multiple emails trying to get the subscription canceled after I had already canceled it 5 times. Worst TV APP.

Not true that you can try for 3 days free. I bought a new Samsung TV and was hoping this app would help with smarter navigation. Subscribed to a year thinking I had 3 days to decide if would work for me or not. After 1 day, realized it wasn’t the right thing for me and cancelled immediately. Now I’m fighting with my credit card to remove the annual charge, despite it clearly being indicated in the profile. Kind of cheesy. Really hate these bait and switch approaches.

Why did I have to pay for this?. I upgraded to the premium to be able to stream a photo album but this is terrible. It is not easy to add photos to the photo album to stream. During a slideshow the options menu pops up across the bottom with a mini photo on top of every photo in the slide show, it looks terrible and is distracting. This is a poor quality app and not user friendly. Not sure why this costs money to upgrade to.

Just buy it.. it’s worth the money. All seriousness I believe most people have tried to get an app that will work with their TV. I know I have and they never worked or even was able to connect with the TV. I lost my remote and wasn’t very concerned about, but fast forward a year I wanted a remote back. I decided to look for an app again, and came across this one. The free version connected, as well as changed my TVs volume an channel once before it prompted for the purchase version. I was excited to see it had performed those functions when others hadn’t. I quickly purchased and have been loving using the app as the remote. Buy it!!

Impossible to use art mode without paying for a subscription. Not worth paying for a subscription. Doesn’t let me use art mode or is making it very difficult to use. Payed lots of money for the tv. I expect to be able to have basic features on the remote app so I can upload basic photos this way. Just makes sense that this would be included without having to upgrade to premium mode. I’m bummed.

Parochially working. The Smart TV app does work great on my tv from my iPhone12, however the problem I have with it is that on the remote from the Smart app my iPhone can’t connect or use the numbers on it, when I switch to the number part of the app remote the numbers do not work at all and also the last slide is inoperable too.

Not worth the $30. I purchased this app with our new TV. Are you cannot get the app to work. It constantly spins and says it’s trying to connect to the TV but it never does. We’ve had it for about three weeks now and I have tried on a regular basis with no luck. I emailed support and have not heard anything back either. Very disappointing especially right now since my kids lost the remote and now I’m stuck. I have Roku hooked up to my phone with no issues along with several other apps, this isn’t a new feature for me, I know what I’m doing. Something is clearly wrong and it’s disappointing that nobody has reached out to me.

Needs QWERTY. Good app and does it all. I have had no problems or ads that other people complain about. I opted for the paid version and it’s been flawless. My only complaint is that I wish this offered a QWERTY keyboard in app. When I search for things it’s a pain without QWERTY. please add this option!!

Low performance. I have 2 frameless TVs. One of the features is to play a slideshow of photos on the TV via the app. However, the app is awful! I followed the steps and the it states, error, try again later. I called technical support which is horrendous! You can’t get a knowledgeable tech on the phone you have to email. I have spent countless hours trying to get it to work. I’m considering returning the TVs!

Can’t display my own pictures. When I first got the tv, the app allowed you to upload your own photos. It was janky but doable. Now I just updated my app and all that is gone. They want you to upgrade to a paid app to cast your photos! You can cast your photos to any device with the iPhone. Such a scam. Plus when I first got the tv there were some beautiful classic paintings available. Those are now gone. The only free paintings are ugly geometric shapes.

I want my money back. I paid $20 for the lifetime premium version after coming home to my dogs chewing up the remote that came with the tv. Since there was no way to click “allow” to allow the app to access the TV, the app was pretty much useless. I still ended up having to buy a new remote, therefore not even needing the $20 app I just purchased. I’m sure it’s great if you also have your remote in hand, but again, at that point, why not just use the remote.

Worthless app…ZERO STARS!!!. I have downloaded this app multiple times now after they release an updated version. It might connect the first time I use it but as soon as I turn off my TV and close the app, it is done. Every time after that it will not connect. TV is on and yet the app shows it is offline and so I can’t use it. I have to delete my TV and then add the device again. Just a waste of time. No way would I spend money on this app because it has yet to prove it is worth any money. I wish I could leave zero stars, but that’s not an option.

Ripoff. In my opinion this app is a total ripoff! It does not work when my tv and my phone at on the same network. The first time I contacted them they responded. I have since contacted them twice with information they requested, but since the first contact have received no further responses from them. What do they care, they have the $20! If the app works for you, you are one lucky individual.

Not sure if this app is a joke or legit.... Says I have a “3-day free trial” yet anything I click on in the app gives me a limitation and prompts me to go premium. Now, I can either pay $3.99/ a week or $4.99/ a month? I can’t think of one person that would pay for a weekly subscription to use this app. Honestly, both offers are a rip off considering you can do everything and more with a $30 Chromecast... The only reason I downloaded the app was to try out the Arlo camera feature, which I don’t even see in the app. Am I missing something or did I just install a virus?

The free version is not a remote.. Literally zero necessary features will work. Cannot change volume, cannot move cursor, cannot select. What is the purpose? I could not find a single feature that worked, everything says “this is a premium feature”. Unless you want to pay for it, just don’t download this, it doesn’t work. I won’t give a 1 star because it seems like the remote itself would work nicely, it’s just that it’s false advertising by setting it as a free app that you then have you buy premium for it to work for anything. It’s just intentionally deceptive.

Spam. 99% sure this is spam. Shortly after I realized I potentially downloaded a virus, I deleted the app/data and received a spam link via text message nearly immediately. For those thinking its Samsung’s app for connectivity or screen sharing - stay away. The app you’re trying to find is called SmartThings. Apple should delete this App from its store immediately. Knowing its available with fake reviews is seriously a liability to its users.

Absolutely awful. An absolutely terrible app. It costs an exuberant amount to use premium, and if you don’t upgrade to premium, the app is literally useless. You can’t even press “home” or turn the volume down with it, and every time you re-open the app to use it you get a huge ad that is difficult to tap around and close. I don’t usually write reviews and I did this time to hopefully warn somebody else before they waste their time.

Too slow to connect. This looked like it was going to be a good app to use on my Samsung Smart TV. Unfortunately, it takes to long to connect. It will either say connected or connecting to the TV but the circle keep spinning. When it finally connects, the remote worked fairly well. For me, it doesn’t make sense to disconnect when you turn off the TV. It would be better to be able to auto connect to WiFi when open the app. I was not able to turn on the TV with this remote when the TV was off. It would not connect. Then would take forever to connect. I have a mesh router with an extender in the room with the TV and has excellent signal so I doubt it’s the internet connection. I tried the Channels tab and nothing loaded after 5 minutes. I would have purchased the lifetime subscription it’d this worked better.

Useless. Couldn’t achieve anything with this app, so disappointed, charged me $45 and did nothing. I feel scammed.

Milking the customer for another penny.. What a load of rubbish to charge a subscription to have more functionality of a product “The Frame” which has already been purchased. Rubbish TV with poor sound quality. Disappointing purchase and still milking the customer for the app. It should be free. No one said at point of sale they would actually charge you to cast your own photos as art. So rude!

Atrocious set up. My experience with my new Samsung tv setup has been terrible. The instructions have been very hard to follow and the fancy solar powered remote didn't work. The quality control at the factory is obviously very poor. I will NEVER buy a Samsung TV again and if I could I'd return this one. In fact I will avoid Samsung products altogether and encourage all my friends and colleagues to do the same. Oh and the fact I can't put my name to this review is equally annoying!!!!

So unfriendly. Does not do as claimed, there is no functional free app to use after you purchase your $3000 TV and every time you try to use it you get this rubbish premium option blocking you. So I buy it and it is useless. I just want to find the add art button. How hard does it have to be.

Terrible app and poor option for expensive tv. There’s no way to directly operate a lot of functions on the Samsung Frame without downloading this slow, useless app with non stop ads.

Buyer beware- does not work! Trial will lock you in.. read below. Disgraceful it does not work with an older Samsung Smart TV. I cancelled the trial immediately as it didn’t work. Since the app wasn’t deleted I was still charged for 1 year!!! Read fine print… buyer & trial users beware!!! This is very misleading I have no problem with other apps to cast only this one. I have trialled a couple to see which works and they all work except this one. I can’t use this app at all & still need to pay for 1 year despite cancelling trial. Important Note - If you have downloaded it as a trial and would like to cancel PLEASE ensure you remove the app too!!! Or u will still be charged. It’s in their fine print. The other apps do not do this. It’s very misleading and dishonest. I’m now locked in.

What a scam. Sneakily calls itself “Smart things for Sam…” but isn’t the actual legitimate Samsung app. Charges you $32 for lifetime access but the REAL app doesn’t glitch and does way more for FREE. Shows up first In the App Store before Samsung - don’t know why, DO NOT BUY 😡

Warning Scam App!. I’m disappointed that Apple allows this app to remain in the store and has it appear at the top of the search for ‘Smart Things’. This result and the name and the icon are all designed to trick new purchasers of a Samsung TV into thinking this is the official app and to get them to sign up for a useless and expensive subscription. Disgusting! As you can see from the reviews a lot of users were fooled and it’s tarnishing Samsung’s reputation too.

My tv not compatible.. I downloaded the app thinking it would work on my tv. But it doesn’t. Also the app doesn’t allow you to exit or unsubscribe. Even for the 3 day free trial. I sent an email and now waiting for a response.

Incorrect Subscription charges. Hi Team, The app showed that there is a 3 day trial period for the annual subscription. However it deducted the whole amount instead of providing the trial period. Also I am not able to get in touch with your team. Please sort it out at the earliest.

Doesn’t work. Doesn’t work. Every time you reopen the app, it has to connect to the tv against. But 9 times out of 10, this has to be done manually. It doesn’t stay connected or automatically connect. Waste of my money.

Terrible. I had to reset all my settings to factory settings because the TV kept on providing audio feedback on everything I did with the remote control. Only resetting the factory settings would stop that. This app was totally useless in setting up the TV. It wouldn’t work until the TV was actually set up using the manual remote. that’s because the TV has to be connected to the network, but you have to do that via the manual remote. Furthermore, it may me pay for the app! Now I have to cancel the subscription manually.

Terrible!. I was looking for the Samsung app to download for my new frame tv and downloaded this app thinking it was the Samsung one. Paid $30 for the lifetime subscription thinking it’s the Samsung app and realized later on after talking to people that this is a third party company app! The name Of it sounds the same as the Samsung app and it is the first app you see as you search for the Samsung one. Very misleading! I hve tried to get help and support to refund my money and have had no one contact me. Absolutely dodgy - beware. Not to mention couldn’t connect my tv to this app at all. Once I downloaded the Samsung app had no issues connecting at all!

Keeps disconnecting. The app keeps trying to connect to my tv and it has successfully connected once in 10 attempts. I finally thought the nightmare was over when I was connected but then I turned the TV off and the app needed me to reconnect to the TV again. I was unable to connect the second time. I am on an iPhone so perhaps that could be an issue. I want to cancel my subscription but there is no email to unsubscribe and my apple subscriptions don’t show it as a current subscription and I am guessing the free 3 day trial period did not apply for the lifetime plan of $30 or so dollars. The app appears to have withdrawn funds from my bank account on the same day of downloading the app.

Did not get the 3 day free trial, I can’t cancel it. I accidentally pushed the life time button subscription but the app said you get 3 days free trial, however the money was debited out of my account immediately. The option of canceling after the 3 day free trial is not in my purchased apps. Need to find out how to cancel it. This app doesn’t provide a lot of options.

Not Official App. This is not the official Samsung app which is available for free. They have made a crappy version which doesn’t event work properly and named it similar to catch people out like me who paid for a service I could have had for free. Not impressed.

Get rid of the pop up ads. I have downloaded the app and managed to avoid signing up for the premium paid subscription. Now operating the app is interrupted by the presence of pop up ads. Why bother! I bought a very expensive TV - why must I pay even more to access it!!!

Not worth it. Takes forever to connect.. Connecting the app to my TV takes over a minute every time I launch the app. Not very useful. Also not many features available without the $28 premium upgrade. If the app worked great I might consider the upgrade, but with the connection issues, the whole app is just not worth it.

Fed up with the solar remote.. The reason I use it is when the solar remote is not working (which is more often than not). I have 3 Samsungs and NONE of the remotes work. I tried calling their help centre and the guy was rude. I told him I couldn’t get a serial number for one of the TV’s at this time so he gave me a number to text him. When I did (about a day later) he never responded back. So I thought I would use the app. It works decent when you can use it BUT you have to have the solar remote working to accept using this app! Defeats the purpose for me. I went back to the store I bought the TV’s from and they said it was past a certain amount of time (I think 3 months) I could try calling Samsung or buy one of their big and bulky remotes for $80 CAD. I WAS EVEN A SUCKER AND BOUGHT THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY! This may be my last Samsung TV. I gave the app 2 stars only because when you can get it working it’s decent. Remember, after a while you have to allow the app to work again! I tread thinking about being on hold and getting not results from their call centre somewhere in far away.

In-app purchase to control TV!?. How crappy. Samsung sells us the TV, then we need to pay extra for each user who wants to control it remotely? What a disappointment. Very misleading IMHO NOT Samsung’s App. They use the same name as the Samsung TV App and it “looks” like it is Samsung when the app is in the store as the screen just shows the first 3 letters. But this is NOT Samsung. This company appears to be relying partly on tricking people into thinking it is Samsung to obtain personal data, payment, and use data to sell to third parties.

Can’t get it to connect to my tv. Having serious connection issues.

Not Responsive at the moment. This app is not very responsive at the moment to the Television. The features for channels or casting is not currently responding. Once you turn the TV off, you will have to turn the TV on again with original remote, before you can use this phone remote after reconnecting to the TV.

Way too hard to setup. I can’t believe how hard this is to setup in SmartThings!!! I just bought a security system. Downloaded the app took a picture of the barcode for each camera and everything was set up correctly. Samsung needs to put more money in the R&D for software development

This is not SmartThings. I accidentally downloaded this app thinking it was “SmartThings” to connect my Samsung appliances but it was “Smart Things”. I paid for the membership as it said I can cancel anytime. I emailed the customer service twice, and it’s been almost a month but they never replied. If this app is not what you’re looking, you’re stuck

Waste of time. I kept trying to create an account but the email that was supposed to verify my account never showed up. Yes, I checked my spam file. I managed to get the remote on my phone but big deal. I already have a remote. I never could download any apps. Worst thing I ever purchased. I can’t even find a subscription to cancel. Good luck.

This app suuuuucks!. Every two seconds it asks to upgrade to the paid version, which is pretty expensive for something I’m gonna use maybe once a month. And there is a constant buffering for playing videos. Not to mention the other adds that try to trick you to buying unrelated service.

I Don’t Get It. How can such a well renowned company have such a poorly functioning remote application? Having ads? Slow loading times? I don’t understand. I had a TCL Roku TV before this and there were no noticeable ads and the remote app as well functioning. I love the TV picture, but everything else is just a huge let down.

Terrible. I wish I could give this zero stars. This app is a joke. It less than half the time I have top-of-the-line Internet. Everything is connected properly and I’m 6 feet from my television. Even with that it will not scroll through photos it staggers on videos and it’s difficult to use. Don’t waste your money on this piece of crap app.

Good could be better.. Could have all the most used controls on the main screen. Every company nickel and dimes you. Every $5 adds up end of the month it’s hundreds.

Not recommend.. To connect smart things to the tv you need the actual remote to tell the tv it’s ok. And every time you turn the tv off it will not work to turn the tv on because it disconnects from the WiFi. Also I had my tv plugged in to the router to allow everything else more WiFi and for this to work it must be on WiFi. Not happy with this.

Wow…always asks me to go premium. Maybe this is a bug, but the app let me turn up the volume once and mute the tv. After that, all actions (unmute, change volume again, etc.) resulted in a popup telling me to go premium. I’m unable to evaluate the app without going premium and from what little I’ve seen I’m not willing to take a risk of being charged.

Better if stayed connected to WiFi. Convenient, easy to use, but doesn’t stay connected to WiFi and you have to connect each time to use, change volume, channel etc. expected more for the money.

Don’t buy it!. I listened to the “just buy it” review thinking finally this app must work!! But no, wouldn’t even connect to my tv, I did all things I was supposed to, made sure my tv was compatible blah blah blah… no dice. If I had the remote I wouldn’t need an app. I’m looking for a remote app, because my remote is not working (which is another issue- the remote just stops working randomly). So why would you make it so I can’t use the app unless I okay it with my remote? Why would I need a remote app if I had the remote to press “approve”?! Seems pretty useless if you ask me.

Disappointing. It’s pretty expensive to have to pay weekly for this app in order to be able to put my photos on my Frame tv. The one time fee is not much better. This should be included with the tv imo.

Just can’t get it to work.. I paid for a life time use of this app and it will not connect to my network. The same network my smart TV is connected to. After 3 different installs it still will not work. Now I can’t get to the subscription to cancel and hopefully get a refund. Very dissatisfied with it all.

Be careful. The company is selling ad space to companies that are attempting to steal your credit card information . The ads redirect you from the app and when you think you are entering card information to purchase a subscription to the Samsung app it is for the SCAM site. The ads carry the same color as the Samsung App. Please be aware and Samsung should be ashamed.

Poor. Need to use this because I miss place my remote. But if you don’t have the remote to accept the device you can not use this app. I tired it on a tv that has the remote and was able to connect it but once your phone locks you have to reconnect the remote and accept the device every time

Be careful with this app. Be careful with this app, it automatically transfers you to the third party website. You think you are creating account for this app, but the other company is collecting credit card info for automated subscription. Plus, to cancel it you need to call customer service, you can’t do it on your account.

Samsung Smart TV Remote stopped working. This app is great! I’m able to use it to access my Smart TV apps. I wish I had known about it before I ordered a replacement remote for $50!

Doesn’t stay connected. This does come in handy if you already have your remote to connect to your tv first. Biggest problem is it doesn’t stay connected. You always have to connect again and if your remote is missing that could be a problem.

Money for a Remote App. Never make a remote app cost a monthly payment. The whole reason I wanted this is because I lost my remote and needed someway to access the menu, but silly me I must pay a monthly fee to press a simple button. The people that can up with this idea are the literal definition of a robber baron. You don’t have to make everything a monthly payment. Especially a freaking remote. Idiots.

I probably wouldn’t use this app even if it was free. Very glitchy, won’t stay connected and absolutely not worth $15, let alone the absurd weekly/monthly prices. The basic remote that comes with the TV is better than this. No lag on that one and you don’t have to wait for it to reconnect every single time you want to do something. For $15, at least add a keyboard for when you need to type something out. Garbage app.

Don’t download this. I was an idiot and paid for a subscription. This app just pretends to try and connect to my smart TV but never actually does. I’ve tried multiple ways to get customer support and never received a response. I even hit the link on the automated response under other poor reviews - no dice.

It’s ok but it’s the nit picky stuff that gets me. I have no problem screen mirroring. But the videos quality is very poor. That’s all I have to say if someone could help me it would be very appreciated. :)

Poor customer support. I just downloaded app based on info on Samsung instructions. Free app requires a credit card, loaded the info, app doesn't recognize a valid Cjase Bank credit card. Called support number, was told to either use a different card or call my bank and they hung up on me!!!!

Can’t load your own pictures. The only reason I wanted this app was so that I could load my own pictures to the art frame TV as was advertised. There is no option to do this apparently it has been removed from the app. I even paid extra to get a subscription thinking that that might help don’t waste your money!

Need remote to approve the phone.. Every time I want to use the phone as remote, I need to approve on the tv using the remote control. If I need the remote control to approve the app is useless. All options is using good once the phone is connected, just so annoying I have to find and use the remote control to approve first, every time I turn on the tv.

You need the remote to connect to App. I downloaded this because my remote is missing. I tried to connect to my TV but a pop up appears on my TV asking for permission for the app to connect to my TV. I have no way of clicking “allow” on the TV without the remote! If I had the remote, I wouldn’t need the app. I wouldn’t need the app if I had a job. I can’t get a job because I didn’t go to school....

Doesn’t work. I paid $20 bucks for this app for my new tv and it doesn’t really work. I finally got the remote part to function. But every time I reopen the app it’s not connected. Plus, there is a constant circle (like it’s trying to connect once it says “connected.”) Definitely not worth the money. Wish I could get my $$$ back.

Intuitive interface, minimal clutter. I reset my Samsung Smart tv, updated the firmware and finished configuring the tv with the smart tv things. I'm content.

Not the real smart things app. If you are looking for the “SmartThings” app for your Samsung tv this is not it. This is a scam and should not be allowed on the App Store. The real SmartThings app is free with your Samsung product and does work well, this app is a scam designed to trick you into spending money on their garbage, look again in the App Store for the real SmartThings app, you’ll find it.

Won’t stop selling premium upgrade. App takes forever to connect to tv and you can’t go more than a few minutes without trying a feature that is not included in the free version and then you are pressured into paying for the upgrade.

Needs to be reconnected every time we turn the tv on.. I downloaded the app because we lost our remote. Have to have a tv remote or a keyboard in order to connect the app to the tv, so we brought our keyboard over to connect and we were set. But the app needs this “permission” with the tv constantly. So I would need to keep connecting the keyboard (or purchase a new remote) to make this app work. Completely defeats the purpose of the app.

They are trying to trick you into believing that this is the authorized Samsung app. Instead they only want to obtain your credit card information to charge you for a bunch of unrelated dating sites. Would not recommend. This is not a good purchase I paid for it and it only worked the first time every time I want to connect to it it does not and does not find my tv even though bothe my devices are connected to the same wifi. My other app for my other tv work a lot better without paying a monthly subscription.

Paid $20 for this garbage app to control my Samsung frame tv but more importantly to upload photos for the frame art which is supposedly done through this app. It does not even have the option for that feature & it will not even find my tv connected to the same WiFi. It’s Ridiculous to pay to change the channels. I wanted an app simply to change the screen saver pictures. But the only option that you get is a Premium Paid Subscription, if you simply want to change the channel. Why in the world would I pay for that??? Get a grip!!!

A shameless app. I see more app than i even get to use the limited feature that they offer for a 1,500 TV that ask for SmartThings so that i can put my photos as art on the TV. I seriously didn’t expect to be asked to pay for “Premium” feature like opening the TV Channel Guide on the app. This is beyond ridiculous, i am considering returning this TV and deleting the App altogether.

Poor service. My cable is not work for the last week, finally get an appointment date of today only for a tech not to show up for the second time. This is totally unacceptable, however I paid the total price of my bill for a service that isn’t working.

Deceiving app. Warning! This is not the Samsung smart things app. I downloaded it thinking it was the correct app and the incessant, annoying pop-ups kept telling me I needed to pay for a premium subscription in order to access everything. Once I downloaded the correct app I figured out why I could not access art mode from this app. It’s not the Samsung app!

Randomly stopped working. I loved this for a while and it was great. However now it won’t search for my TV. WiFi is on both my phone and TV but it won’t find my TV or the other TV in the house which wasn’t a problem. If I’m paying so much for this I’d like to at least be able to use it.

What’s the point?. I lost my remote and then in order to use this remote on my phone I needed the TV remote to click the “allow” icon on TV. ….and the TV does not have any buttons on it to do this. Therefore, the only reason for getting roped into buying this option is irrelevant now since I need the remote to allow it access. 🤦‍♂️
