Horrible for transfer applicants. It literally just links you to the website for transfer applicants, quite literally no app functionality, horrible.

Finally!. This is so exciting to have as a senior and it’s a lot more accesible.

common APP lol. I’m surprised this hasn’t happened earlier but I’m happy that people can use this as an app now instead of a website. The functions are all the same, but I WOULD like to say that having this app has started to add onto my application stress. My phone is my break and escape from all of my college and school stress but seeing this app has added to my anxiety. You get what you’re looking for in this app, but beware of college stress fellow applicants!

I’m annoyed.. I’m glad it works so well for first year students.... but just like the website, there are things accessible to first year students that transfer students are not able to access. So yeah, doesn’t allow transfer students to sign in. Stupid. Maybe you should fix that. I’d give you no stars if I could because I’m annoyed that I’m being discriminated against.

DO NOT APPLY THROUGH HERE. Common App did not submit my application to the college despite me having submitted everything necessary, and them having listed my application as complete and submitted. Only reason I found out that Common App did not actually submit my application as they said they did, is that I called the college after 7 weeks (normal response time from them is 6 weeks), and found they had never received my application. PLEASE do not apply to colleges through Common app, apply directly through college pages! It might be extra work, but at least your application will actually be submitted.

This is the common app app. Only gave 5 stars because it's called the common app app and that's retry funny. In terms of how useful it is, it's basically just the common app website in an app. I guess it's kind of nice but there's no huge advantage versus just using the website. It's a little nicer because it takes up the whole acreen. Unfortunately it doesn't save your login info so you must enter it every time.

Do not use Common App. I submitted my application the 8th, it’s now the 17th. The school I submitted to is saying they should have it by now and they don’t. The customer service team on live chat at common app keeps telling me different things and keep assuring me it’s been sent to the school when it hasn’t. Common App customer service doesn’t seem to want to help figure this out except say talk to the school which I did. Apply to the school directly if you can and skip Common App. Update: After battling with my application process and despite Common App customer service telling me multiple times that my application was submitted to the school and they have access to it and should be able to download it, Lo and Behold, my school didn’t have access to it. My school right out said “Common App has not released their applications to us for download”. Week after week went by and Common app finally released the applications. This is been the biggest headache of my life, Common App customer service needs to quit lying to applicants saying “It’s available for download” when it wasn’t and it was Common App holding things up. I’m trying to plan out my education here and they are making a headache of it.

Can’t open app. I try to open the app and every time I open it it just stays on the homepage for hours and hours. I unplugged my Wi-Fi box and plugged it back in and it still won’t open. I don’t know what the problem is but the website works just fine.

It works but it doesn’t fit my screen. Ive got an iphone XS and i can’t tap or use some of the icons because it doesn’t fit on my phone screen. My battery and time is covering the buttons :(

Crashing. The app is very convenient and a great idea but every time I try to submit an application it crashes. I don’t know if it’s my phone or the app.

Convenient. I like the app cause its identical to the website. Only thing I don’t like is that I keep having to re-login when I open up the app again.

Well designed app. Well... now we can carry our anxiety on our iPhones too!

Need an option to stay signed in. I’m a fan of the Common app and I’m grateful for a mobile version which allows ease of use. However… the requirement to sign in upon opening the app each time makes the app more difficult to use. Please at least give us the option to stay signed in :)

Doesn’t work on iPhone???. Could the developer reach out? When I try to sign into the transfer side it just takes me to the website and doesn’t return me to the app after signing in. What’s the point of an app if I have to use the site?

misleading. the common app is confusing to try to work. not to mention i applied for a college, which required certain information that was not included in the application. i already paid an application fee but because I did it through the common app, and I didn’t get to submit all my info, I have to reapply through and purchase the fee again.

Dead end. When you try to create an account there are no buttons to continue. Dead end. Did they test this app for even 5 minutes. How poor.

Great but needs to fix one big thing. When I go into the app, I have to login every time.

I Love It. I absolutely love the idea and the app. Only complaint is that the arrows don’t render correctly. I’m sure this’ll be fixed in the next update.

Can’t use for transfer application. Redirects to web browser, made downloading this app pointless, already deleted it.

Transfer Students Common Application App. Common App should also have an app for their transfer college students. It’s a hassle to have to go to the website every time you log in through the app. We should have the same opportunity to go through the app and use it as seniors in high school.

Does Not Work. I downloaded the app hoping it would help me keep track of my applications better but after signing in the app doesn’t even load past the logo anymore. Upon closing it out and trying to reopen it all I see is a light blue screen and nothing else.

Transfer Student Negligence. First year students are allowed to sign in, but transfer students just get taken to a phone browser instead of the app, disappointed.

Just found out this a thing now. I finished applying to colleges the day before i found out this existed. It's probably like, just enough to get by and a little useful? 3/5 prolly will just apply to colleges with waiver fees

Needs a back button. Every time i open a page for a college in more detail, I cannot get back to the main menu without logging out and signing back in. Even from the College Questions tab to the Writing Supplements tab requires you to log out

Doesn’t work for transfer?. I go to the transfer tab and it just sends me to the website. Not sure if it’s supposed to redirect me back to the app after logging in on the web but it doesn’t.

It’s alright. What’s the point if you have to re-enter your password every time you use it? Just gonna keep using it on safari.

thank you thank you thank you. i don’t even know what i would do if i didn’t have common app to help me apply to college. it’s been keeping me up and stressing me out every time i’m away from my computer because i feel like i’m not being productive and i can’t easily access my account and check my application status. now that i have it in my pocket, i feel so much more at ease

No in-app access for transfer students?. As a transfer student (not a first-year) I don’t seem to be able to access my applications through the app, it just takes me to the web and doesn’t load the page. If there is a way to access my applications through the app that would be amazing! If not I would suggest the developers consider making that work for both first-year and transfer students.

Privacy concerns. Major issues with privacy doesn’t honor what they quote. Beginning with taking conceptual ideas for the things “conceptual” and calling cops about it. It means it was a theory for technology. Idk if they wanted the method or something.

Same as Website. So it’s virtually the same as the website, which is convenient, except that I would have thought it would keep me signed in after I close out the app. My email and password is super long to type in, so it gets a little tedious having to login every time I visit. Nevertheless, it’s nice to have an app for it instead of having to use an internet browser, and I think the app has a lot of potential.

Negligent to transfer students. Title. Can’t even log into the app if you’re a transfer student lol. Was hoping this would be convenient to use when on the go and could double-check prompts easily or something like that. Didn’t expect much from it in the first place, yet it still found a way to utterly let me down.

FINALLY!!!. I’m so glad that the Common App has become an actual mobile app. I’ve been procrastinating with the college process and I’ve just been here on my phone all day. When I received an email that the Common App was now available as an app on my phone, I finished applying to all of my colleges. It’s the same as applying online but I feel that it’s a lot more convenient now that it’s an app on my phone.

Not functional for recommenders. If you are on your phone, the website will constantly steer you to use the app, which you download and find doesn’t work unless you’re a student. So common all does function at all using iOS if you are a recommender.

Definelty a great idea. Not near a laptop but realized your Early Action application you barely started is due in 2 hours? Dude. The Common App App has got you covered

Same, but worse.. I am super grateful for the Common Application. It makes college applications so much easier, and my life much less stressful. The app is basically the same as the website; however, on the website I am able to save my ID information and log in faster. On the app, though, I have to type everything out. Besides that, its ok :)

Fix please!. Good, simple app. One issue I’ve found: When logging in, the app won’t prompt my device to launch an iCloud Keychain request. I therefore have to manually enter my password. Please fix ASAP!

Good Start. Thank you for FINALLY making an app for the Common App. This literally helps a lot of us out who are doing this on the go. Obviously, the Common App is something millions of students already use for their college applications, so this review won’t really be geared toward the platform in general, but more towards the actual app performance. Now, this app is just starting out but I do believe there are some issues that need to be resolved before I can give this a higher rating. I shouldn’t have to login every time I leave the app to switch to another one. This is my phone after all, other folks aren’t going to be accessing it. At the very least, keep us logged in until an hour of inactivity has been reached, not when I go into Google Docs for a moment. Also, are there ways to increase the size/shape of the text boxes so that you can read all of the words you have written at once? The full screen button doesn’t work. Thanks.

Frozen... The first time I signed in, I had no problems. I clicked off the app for a second and got back in. It stayed on the blue loading screen with the logo. It was taking a while so I swiped out and clicked the app again. I kept doing this until I restarted my phone. Still no luck. My wifi is great too. It shouldn’t take long. I’m just trying to get into college man 🥲.

So far, so good. Too bad they didn’t launch the app earlier this fall because I think this would’ve been much easier for me to just use an app rather than having to login into a computer, and I’ve already submitted all my applications, so I don’t really need the app. I still downloaded it just bc I was curious and I’m really impressed. It's not glitchy at all. It looks exactly the same as the website, which is already convenient and organized itself. It's also fast in opening PDFs or external links. 5 stars!!!

meh. the site (and app) will show you did or added certain things immediately upon looking at them even if you haven’t. like the writing section, the transcripts, and the recommendations. i missed the early action deadlines for the colleges i wanted to go to bc the common app marked stuff as done or turned in that was actually missing. this is really upsetting bc i had paid multiple application fees just to receive emails 2 weeks after the deadlines telling me stuff was missing and needed added or sent before the deadline. ik it’s partly my fault for not triple checking that i got everything in but the common app made it very confusing
