Not so professional. Back when Angi was Handy For Pros, the app worked without any problems and I had no issue contacting support. But then it changed to Angi. The app required me to go through the background check and all the other new app stuff, and so I did. At the time I had torn my rotator cuff and could not work, but almost a year later after I had fully recovered I went back to the app and saw it was still processing my background check. Also, I am not able to set my hours and availability - I see only a blank screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app with no luck. I emailed support and got a reply the same day from Ryshan, then got another the next day from Ira, both asking for personal information. A week later, and after sending a couple more emails to see what is going on, there has been no reply from either of them and the app has not progressed at all. All I wanted to do was work. I am somewhat worried that the individuals I was emailing were not actual employees of whatever company operates this app, but phishers or some other kind of scammer. While this app may be legitimate, there’s always the possibility that someone can hack into it.

Great for finding job, ABYSMAL support for pros. Been using the app for a couple of years now, and ever since Angi took over support quality for the pros has turned to absolute garbage. Most recent situation I have had to deal with is that I completed a job I have done all summer long. I have talked a handful of times with the customer about showing up to mow times other than the specific time listed. Upon completing the job, the customer informed me that it was the last time for the year that he wanted the service. I informed him that he was going to want to contact Angi and cancel the future bookings because otherwise they were going to keep auto booking and charging him. Well, because of me completing the job before the official start time, the booking for that day also got canceled, screwing me out of payment for completing the job. I have been in contact with support numerous times, and they keep telling me there is nothing they can do and I’m not owed payment unless they succeed in contacting the customer through email. That is apparently the only option, period. They won’t call him or do anything else. So I’ve completed a job, and I’m not being compensated because of technicalities and Angi support refuses to actively help me solve the issue

Great idea, Poor execution.. I love the idea of this app, and being able to claim your jobs to assist with your schedule. Well I myself am from a big city and jobs weren’t available on this app for long. If you aren’t watching your phone constantly for a job to pop up, chances are somebody else will claim it first. So after a few days of trying to find jobs to claim I was finally fast enough to claim my first one. Excited that I finally have my first job to go do on Monday morning I make note of it on my personal schedule for that day. Well Saturday night before I worked security gig overnight for a friend. Got in early Sunday morning and went to sleep. I wake up to 2 notifications. One was a request to confirm my job again for Monday, that I had already confirmed and then 3 hours late another text saying my job was removed because I didn’t respond. So after stalking this app for 2 days trying to be fast enough to get a job claimed, it gets removed on me while I’m sleeping the day before it’s scheduled to be completed?! Oh and you do get penalized with fees for cancellation of claimed jobs. So just a heads up to those interested in this app.

Contact. I absolutely love working as a Handy Pro. The app is great, so far all the customers have been great, very easy to use and navigate. However, there should definitely be a way to connect with a “Handy Pro” representative on a immediate/emergency basis. For example, I REALLY needed to SPEAK with a “Handy Pro” rep, while I was STILL at the customers home. I checked in, on the “Handy Pro” app, when I got to the house as I always do. I went to the door and there was no answer, I knocked and rang the bell many times. I went back to my car to try calling and messaging the customer. After about 10 minutes of calling, texting and knocking at the door, I finally tried to contact “Handy Pro”. I’ve never had this happen before and didn’t know what to do. I drove 1 HOUR AND 45 MINS to get to this job and it was another hour and 45 mins to get home. So I didn’t want to just leave and risk not being paid for at least the time that I wasted driving to this job and then back again. Especially when I could’ve been doing a job where the person answered the door. So a way to contact you guys directly in cases like this, would be really helpful for us on the “Handy Pro” service providers end. Thank you

It’s ok if you need just some money but not good for skilled tradesmen.. I downloaded this app in hopes of maybe wrangling in some new clients but the pay scale is not worth what I could be making. For instance the most fair price I saw was still under valued. The job was to demo and replace a 14 foot section of fencing, one frost footed post, and haul debris for $180.. As someone who professionally works as a general contractor, that amount for the job is laughable. The dump run alone is $60, and setting the concrete should be left to cure for at least 12 hours while the post is braced. Atop the insulting pricing Handy has all sorts of fees that are floating around. One for booking with less than 4 hours to start time even. $40! That’s insane. All in all I think this would be a 20x better app if I could 1.)Talk to the client prior to accepting a job as in the field you’ll shoot yourself in the foot real quick if you can’t gather your own intel’s data establish a relationship with a client. 2.) If the system didn’t pre-determine what the prices were. That’s super insane. 3.) Get paid outside the app. This app either doesn’t care about “Pros” or simply doesn’t understand what goes into jobs. When acquiring materials there needs to be a mark up because it is labor and risk and should seen as such. Also, many of these jobs are not just 2 hour jobs they claim.

Do not download this app. I worked here for 3 months and they suddenly deleted my account bc I went to a job and the customer cancelled the job right when I got there. I told them this but they said no and that I never showed up. I told them I had proof (screenshots of my location at the time and I had a whole chat with an agent sitting in front of the customers house) and they simply said “it’s company policy” and they didn’t want to see my proof. Completely ridiculous. I cannot believe the disrespect and outright fraudulent nature of their customer support and pro support systems. Do not download this app. I’m sure they will say “ contact us at email to resolve these issues” but if I do they either won’t respond or won’t help lol. Just do not get this app. They will charge you insane fees for nothing. Just have them show up on your account and take your money. Ridiculous.

They will REFUSE to delete your information!. I signed up to see what the app was all about and the jobs weren’t what I was looking for (doesn’t pay well) so I went to close my account. They are refusing to delete my information even though I’ve never taken any jobs through them! This includes my SSN, home address, and banking information. Data leaks are a problem and their refusal is unprofessional and ridiculous, please don’t sign up for this! I wish someone had warned me first. Also, why are there multiple 5 star reviews that have very negative comments? Looks suspiciously like their trying to prop up their ratings **Edit** after posting this someone else reached out and said that they were able to remove my information from their system. I won’t change my rating because of how persistent I had to be to accomplish this. I’ve also added one of the emails I received from their support staff after making multiple requests to remove my information from their system. Again, I had never performed any work for Angi, iust signed up to see if the jobs were worthwhile… here’s the email I received… “Hi, Thank you for keeping in touch. We're sorry but no-one will be able to delete your information on file. Everyone here will offer the same response because we have to adhere to the same policy. Our policies are set in place to ensure we're accurate and efficient. We hope we were able to clarify this to you. Please let us know if you need further assistance. Best, Keisvonne”

Contact.... At this point I will never use handy as a way to get jobs done or be a pro simply based off of your lack of ability to contact someone in case of emergencies.. My bfs phone was stolen last night and he had a job to get to this morning.. without his phone he had no way of knowing the address or contact info for the client. After trying to email support repeatedly for help he’s gotten no where and no one has called (we supplied my phone number) and nothing but an automated email back. He says he will now undoubtedly be charged a fee for not showing up. All of that could have been avoided if you were truly there for your pros. Instead of only caring to make money off of them. I am a house keeper and had been contemplating using your platform, now not a chance in hello. Nor will I ever recommend not only because instances such as this but as a woman doing housekeeping alone in someone’s home there’s no way to contact someone for help or if I feel unsafe! Shame on you handy, and anyone whose thinking about using this platform do so knowing you are truly on your own. This company does not care about its pros at all.

Horrible System - doesn’t care for workers. Do not use this app. When I started working for handy my first job was 6 hours and I was surprised when I was only compensated for two. I was told that unless the customer adds time then I wouldn’t not be paid and thanks for the hard work. I reach out to customer of course to no reply. I then followed there method and still had trouble being compensated on further moves either because customers claim to have trouble with app or not actually having the app at all. Some customers set up appointments from where they bought furniture or what they need assembled not through handy this is something else I was unaware. So customer do not have handy number and neither do we as workers as it is all through email. This more than likely leads to customers never contacting handy to tell them you worked past the time. Handy tells you to leave when the time is up if customers don’t add time but then you get a bad rating in review. I had all five stars until I left a job cause a customer told me they didn’t know how to add time and received a one star review. On top of that I was charged 40$ when I needed to cancel a move one time. So basically they will charge for having to cancel but won’t compensate you for your actual work.

Not worth it!!!. I was a home cleaner in California for a while (last year), I did 16 jobs with them, before they merged into “Angi” and was just “Handy”. Things were fine, I got paid $20 per hour, it’s not a whole lot, but it was worth it at the time for me. I move to Arizona at the end of last year and now my pay rate is $16 per hour. I have to clean for HOURS (there’s no telling how bad the mess is as they don’t provide pictures or a thorough description of the level of uncleanliness), buy my own cleaning supplies constantly(costs for using new rags frequently and new products), and use gas to go to and from appointments, for $16 and hour?? That’s RIDICULOUS for ANYONE, but especially someone who has already been paid more. The location shouldn’t matter. The job isn’t worth it at all….you’re better off cleaning for a company who pays better & provides supplies, or starting your own cleaning business. DEFINITELY NEED TO DO BETTER! The sad part is that this company gets paid well from the customers, they book YOU for a low fee, and keep the rest while you break your back!! And don’t have the decency to pay well for it!!! Scandalous!

Disappointed. While I enjoyed working with the clients handy allowed me to meet. I was very disappointed in the way the agents or customer service reps handled jobs. Several times I would say 4 of 7 jobs were miss quotes or out right ridiculous ones. For instance a quote was given to a customer for me to come out and pour 15 yards of concrete for $350. In addition also estimated a four room house 2400 sq feet to stain concrete for $270. Of course the handy professional was on the front line of dealing with the customer and explaining that those prices don’t even cover the cost of supplies oh which the handy professional is required to supply. Then when there is a problem the handy professional is always in the wrong when it comes to fees. No matter what the issues is we were wrong. Even if we had out right written communication with the customer we are still charged. There is a tremendous breakdown between agents for the consumer and the professionals I hope someday they can fix this because this really could be a great service but the person behind the computer has no business bidding construction jobs.

This App is Horrible. They don’t have respect for the customer nor the professionals , they have very bad security and privacy issues , they customer service for pros is a joke, they are just pre-programmed people or robots that will just keep repeat themselves and disconnecting from your support chats, mess around with them, might end up in debt they , just like pirates they’ll just take your money , no matter how hard you try to reach any superior is just horrible is like you turn into a slave if you become a member , is what they say and that’s it. I think is a way of just launder money , no matter what proof you have off being at customer’s home and of the work if they say you didn’t show you just didn’t show up now I’m-498 dollars all because the customer said I didn’t show up , is not the first time they do it they have done actually a few times before, I’m pretty sure up to date they have taken more than 250 + this 495 more is ridiculous, the customer service for the pros is horrible once you prove them wrong they just block you out the app, it was way better when it was Handy Pros , all this apps are for taking money from us on top of our information too.

Terrible company to work for. They will fine you/penalize you for anything that the customer says whether it’s true or not. You could drive to a completely different city do everything you were supposed to do and all the customer has to say is something negative and you won’t get paid for it. No matter how far you drove or how much work you’ve done. I took a job for $88, and because I finished it in less than four hours they only paid me $44 for it. I literally got penalized because I am good at what I do. They will not go to bat for you at all…. all the customer has to say is whatever they want to say and they will just believe that and penalize the professional for it. The service team is extremely rude ,And their method of communication is a joke, you can either email them and wait 24 to 48 hours for a response or you can instant message them and they’ll be short and rude And try to discredit everything you say to them… i’m sure they will respond to this by saying message us directly but that will be ineffective, they would just try to justify their actions and deflect the point that they are a terrible company to work for. Work for them for one week let something negative with a customer happen and see my point….

Worst experience ever!!. I have great respect for Angie’s list, but this was by far the worst partnership they ever made and it will end up making them look bad. I have done 4 jobs now with this service and it’s been the same story every time. They overcharge the customer, and underpay the contractor. More than that, they estimate without looking at the job! I have arrived on jobs that the customer asks surprisingly “it’s just you?! I thought it was going to be a crew!” They paid the amount that spoils pay for a crew. The estimate was for far less hours than it should be. Whoever is bidding these jobs has no idea! Just throwing out numbers hoping some stick! I decided to cash out and add my bank info. It wouldn’t save. Entered it again and still wouldn’t save. I tried this three times and it wouldn’t save. Is there a helpline to call? No just an option to chat. I explained the issue to the person from the chat and they can’t help me so they tell me they’re transferring me. I wait and wait and and hear nothing back. I hope it’s just me having this experience, but if not, this app is going to reflect poorly on its partners if it doesn’t get this kind of stuff fixed.

Unprofessional. You have to be careful with them. They charged me fees out of nowhere saying that they over paid me. If I a client cancels last minute which is at the time of cleaning or after you are supposed to get paid up to 2 hours but if the client lies and says that you never showed up they only pay you $15 compensation. Even if you tell them you did show up they will not listen to you or believe you. I also hate that you can not speak to anyone over the phone when you have an issue that needs to be resolved. They do not listen to the worker they dismiss you and keep replying with the same answers. They show no proof of charges that just add or reduce charges as they please. They do not care if you work for them or not they’re not scared to loose workers they treat them unfair. If you ask to speak to a manager or a phone call they say that email or chat is the highest form of communication. If you chat with them through the app they take forever to respond and if you leave the app the whole chat ends. Also if you continue to ask them for proof of charges they will end the chat. It’s very frustrating to get in contact with them. They play with your money and don’t have any consideration. They also charge the client way more than what you get paid because the clients voluntarily tell us. Also I don’t understand why this has more than 4 stars being that almost all the reviews were negative 🤔

Today I paused my Handy. Today, after weeks of trying out Handy, I paused my account. I’m willing to go back but they have to have better pro support. At some of the jobs, I’ve been insulted, ridiculed and disrespected. Today, I had a customer make me feel uncomfortable. It came over as a home cleaning, make the bed, etc… it was actually a new home construction cleaning. No notes from the customer. Not even at the right address (it was next door granted) she wanted me to go buy materials out of my own pocket for this construction clean, no reimbursement. I advised her that maybe someone else can accommodate her request but I couldn’t. My gripe isn’t with the customer but Handy. They do not ask their customers enough questions about what work they want done. Pros could actually be prepared if they did. They have no live support. Only the customer can make changes to the service. Etc. I would totally go back if they vetted the customers more and set real expectations between customers and pros. It’s a shame because on Thumbtack I have a 4.8 star rating. Everyone knows what’s going on between each project etc. Please fix this and I’ll gladly come back.

Angi’s HomeAdvisor, Handy, all the same. I’ve used all as a homeowner and a pro. These companies are a scam and do not care for either party, just making their money. There’s actually a lawsuit against them from the FCC. What homeowners don’t understand is that the pros are being charged for each “lead” that comes in. That is why they call so many times. You are never given a refund (credit, they’d never give you money back). You have to prove that you’ve tried calling/texting/email 3 times the first day, 2 the second day and once the third before a credit is given. Homeowners try to find a company and land on these sites/apps thinking they will get a list of ppl in their area. Fill out the contact info and address having no idea that they are selling your information to the highest bidder. Both parties usually have no idea what they are signing up for when they try and use these 3 companies. All three companies are actually one company now, but charge the Pros 3 different ways saying it’s 3 different companies. But the lead goes thru all 3 of the companies so then the pros get changed essentially for each of the three Angi’s companies. Go on google maps to try and find companies near you. Ask friends and family or neighbors who they’ve used. Do not trust companies that sell your information.

4.6 STARS?. I just filled out they’re application and downloaded the app. I haven’t opened the app to actually get started yet. Typically I like to read and check the reviews on apps. Especially if they’re claim to have 4.6 / 5.0 stars. But strangely enough 36 out of 40 reviews I read were all extremely bad. These are reviews of workers not of people looking to have work completed. It’s truly sad. I’m a licensed electrician and I work full time so thankfully I don’t need this app or their scams of service. I honestly was just looking to do a few side jobs on the weekends but after reading these bad reviews I want nothing to do with them. And almost feel like letting my cousin who’s a news anchor at local news station know about this. It’s truly a scam and taking time and money from workers. Everything I’ve read clearly shows that their only in it for the money. Having no number or direct line for the workers to contact just goes to show that it’s just a few people who had extra funds and created a platform app to further deepen their pockets. You should feel ashamed of yourself. This makes me extremely upset after hearing all these horrible experiences. Sure people lie on reviews, that can be expected but 36 out of 40. Someone seriously needs to investigate them. I’ll be sure to report them to the BBB.

it's not professional. They do not trust the Pro, I have a bad experience since I did a full day job and then they tell me that customer canceled the job in the morning when that is not true I have sent them proof of the work done through email, with photos of the work and hours and they still do not believe you they do not support the worker at any time and now they want to charge me for the work I did, I find it shameful that one is honest and does their job and has to be going through bad times without reason and without asking me to me directly if there was a problem !! I was able to contact the customer and the customer was as impressed as I was and the customer himself contacted them to explain that I did my job and that he was at work all day and they don't care they just care to stay with the money!! I put my car, gasoline, tools and my work and they, without doing anything, keep 70% of the earnings from work without doing anything and then they don't even support you and when you have a problem you can only contact by email ... There have been times that I have driven 1 hour to the customer's house and the customer has wanted to cancel the work because it cannot be done or because the product did not arrive and Handy pays you only $ 15 and also they do not have a contact phone number.

HORRIBLE AND UNFAIR. I would give this 0 stars if i could, at first everything was great until I had a customer who’s dog bit me, after this happened the customer wanted me to come back and do a job however I spoke the customer and explain to her why I would not. Angi then counted me as a no show and that I canceled (which was false).. they charged me a $50 fee as well for this… I went and completed another job the same day which ended up covering the fee but I called customer service because I felt like I was wrongly charged.. they said that they couldn’t help me and a couple hours later my account got deactivated due to “violation of policy” because of it being a canceled job. I’ve tried numerous times to sign back up and they’ve told me I’ve been blocked from the platform. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had with a company as large as Angis Services, not to mention how underpaid we already were. For jobs that cost the customers $150 through the app, us pros only see about $20/$25 dollars. Just completely a rip off, a scam, a waste of time and money.

Smells like class action. Just like the OG Angi list (now ads) this Angi services is also a scam! Like others on here that complained I have been charged fees for customers stating I did no shows when they 1- never requested a cleaner as they say 2- not even the customer be at the home 3- want to cancel but then put I did a no show, even when I show proof of what I did or what was said In messages with a customer I STILL GET FINED, they have also cut my pay when a customer cancels. Not to mention we the cleaners don’t even get 50% of what the customer really pays, and if i complain about the job to the reps forget it I still gotta clean the home or I get fined AGAIN! So SCAM I SAY, I already made them aware I would be going for governmental help against them for lying and going against contracts. To sign the class action please email me. It’ll be a Gmail account with the beginning of xzysservices. Please reach out to be apart of the class action! And I’m sorry that we’re being treated like this after all our hard work. Angi do better.

Christopher Macvicar. Many problems with this company especially with extra hours and I pay 8.00 a week for pro to see 10 days of jobs instead of seven but for over a year now I only see 7 days and have chatted about this problem multiple times never any body fix but every Monday angis makes sure they take that 8.00dollars from me and also job descriptions are very lacking on Angie’s end your people don’t ask right questions to customers but your people don’t know about how to work a job so they are not capable of asking. Right questions never enough time to do these jobs because yous don’t add time for set up cleanup and unpacking the product and I’m hate adding time because I follow your rules but seldom get paid for extra hours and when customers approve of time then I have to spend more time chasing through chat to not get it solved so more time wasted and I have customers show me they tipped threw the app never do I get that many problems and the problems will remain because no one wants to follow up and make changes we pros are the face of your company but yous have still not figured that out I talk to your customers and many are disappointed with the Angie’s side of it your company will not be in business that much longer if yous don’t change the platform I have many more but I figured I just wasted this much time it’s enough and I’m sure there will be no follow up to this review either can’t fix what you don’t want to fix

Zero stars maybe?. Honestly, just don’t do it unless you like problems and frustration. First of all, the jobs do not pay nearly what they are actually worth. They are generally always not scheduled for enough time to complete the job. Yes, you can get the customer to ask for more time, but it’s a bad pattern. I’ve done a lot of building projects, and use power tools and not the tiny hand tools provided, am good at it, and still almost always need more time. I’ve had numerous problems with pay and job times and other things, so I stopped using the app. The problem that brought me to write a review: I got an email saying we miss you come back, here’s a quest. Complete 2 jobs in a given date range and earned an extra $125 bonus. So I decided to do a couple of jobs for the bonus, I selected 2 jobs with trophies which means they qualify for the bonus. Angie tells me I did not complete the quest and only 1 job qualified for it. I spoke to a person via their chat (phone is not an option). This is a flat out lie. I really dislike this service and only took jobs for the bonus. I did not make a mistake. They insist I did not complete the quest. And to top everything off, their help features are atrocious and when you eventually speak to someone they aren’t any help and obviously don’t care. This is a really bad service. I HIGHLY recommend you do not join

Liars!!. I have been on angi for 3 years now, back when it was called handy. The pro support is a joke. The customer support is nonexistent. No phone number to call just a text bubble on the pro side only. Jobs that pay $50+, the customer actually paid closer to $500 for assembly. The fees are ridiculous, cancel a job within 24 hours and get charged $10. Wanna cash out the money you have made so far this week? That’s gonna cost you too. I also noticed a few of the reviews on here saying that they left a 1 star review but somehow the review says 5 stars. So they are embellishing the reviews as well. Their computer generated maps to tell you how far away the job is, is how the bird flies not the actual driving path that needs to be driven to get to the address. So if the job says 13 miles away it’s closer to 20 miles away. Showing up to these bookings for a customer that did not want the service is astounding. I have been yellled at, stuff thrown at me, called names, asked who paid for the service since they didn’t. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I would give this business -5 stars if I could.

Deceitful policies & outright lies. I like the concept of this but in practice it is nothing but deceitful policies and outright lies. The yard cleanups I’ve done were scheduled for two hours, however upon arrival at these jobs it is blatantly obvious that these properties haven’t been maintained for years and at least 6-8 hours would be needed to clean the yards. Customer doesn’t want to hear that and demand you stay and work for free for the extra time or else they’ll file a complaint about you, so you’ll end up getting paid $2 per hour when it’s all said and done. Also, they claim to have “quests” where you can earn a bonus for completing 4 jobs in a week but they just don’t pay out on that bonus. Don’t fall for it, they’re bonus talk is nothing but outright lies. There is no bonus, it’s a ploy to get you to do more work that you won’t be paid for. The point of this app is simply to take advantage of contractors who are just getting started that don’t know better, you’ll go broke and lose your mind if you try working on this platform. A one star review is too generous for these crooks, I really wish I could give them a -10 star review for the miserable experience I had with this thing

Terrible organization. Worked one week for handy pro. More than half the jobs had wrong addresses all the jobs are spread out so you’ll have to do some serious commuting. There is practically no support takes at least half an hour to an hour for them to contact you and half the time they do not understand the situation that you are contacting them about so it takes an hour and a half to two hours to resolve any situation. I only completed three jobs because of miss communication between customers and handy parties and inaccessible jobs due to incorrect or non existing addresses and not being able to contact the customers. I was removed from the app for low ratings even though I only did three jobs and they did not even disclose as to why I was receiving poor ratings although I was on time to all jobs and left the customers happy. Ultimately you will not have enough time improve your ratings before they let you go. Company is poorly managed and really unfair to the people they employ. I have never seen an organization as messed up as this.

Really need to work on a few things. Firstly, the first job you accept using the app is daunting because of the cancellation policy and that it doesn’t provide any information about the job besides the pay offered and City it’s located in. You could easily be committed to a job that exceeds your scope of practice/capability on that first blind booking. Please fix that. Also, pay for these jobs don’t account for travel expenses ie $6/gallon of gasoline and higher for diesel. However handy and wayfair need to figure it out so you can pay higher, you should absolutely do it. There was an assembly job I had to cancel because I needed an additional person and a truck to bring the equipment I’d need to hoist the parts but the job only paid about $80. There’s no way these low amounts make sense to accept the job. Like if you’re a highschool student, some jobs are worth WALKING to and being picked up by parents. For an actual Professional the rates are PRETTY low.

New update killed the app. It started out amazing, I was making great money on tons of different handyman jobs. Then they started assigning 2 people to some jobs. You have no idea who the other “pro” is, and it makes a job take 3x longer. And the customer can’t review each pro individually, so if the other guy leaves a bad impression, your rating goes down. Also, the new update killed my alerts. I just don’t get them anymore. I don’t like to pull this card, but as a SW engineer moonlighting as a handyman, I can definitely say the updated app needs work.. random crashing, horrible in-app messaging with customers, and just not alerting you when messages come in or jobs become available. I was really excited about this app initially, but now it’s just a pain. Don’t waste your time. Update: all of these developer responses should show anyone exactly how little they care. Cheap canned responses that don’t actually address the problem, or more importantly, the person they fked over. This is exactly how their in-app support is. Thanks Angi for proving everyone’s point!

I worked for this app full time for 9 months. I used this app for 9 months i till I got a full time job working for bitcoin i recently turn this app off because they’ll put you through h*ll, Most the handymen on this app don’t realize that half of what you make your gonna end up owing in taxes so if you do a job for 50$ it’s actually 25 then gas and supplies 5$-10$ and bring your own tool and approximately a hour or two of work with 50 min drive o don’t forget the customer scams you 10$ fee you’ll make about 3-5 dollars and that’s typical I did a job for 25$ to put a desk together it wasn’t even sure if it was the same disk he order with this service there was over a 2000 screws it’s was a huge executive desk that need 9 hours assembly the app told me 2 I did the 2 hours and had to go to my next job I couldn’t finish the disk and I used power tools the customer was yelling screaming arguing and then spit in my face, majority of their customers are horrible people or weirdo’s, and then if it doesn’t get any worse when the work stops it comes to a dead stop for weeks maybe months know telling when it’ll comeback but yea this app will have you homeless in no time cause your not gonna be able to afford a phone bill anymore

WONT DELETE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. 1 signed up to see what the app was all about and the jobs weren't what I was looking for (doesn't pay well) so I went to close my account. They are refusing to delete my information even though I've never taken any jobs through them! This includes my SSN, home address, and banking information. Data leaks are a problem and their refusal is unprofessional and ridiculous, please don't sign up for this! I wish someone had warned me first. Also, why are there multiple 5 star reviews that have very negative comments? Looks suspiciously like their trying to prop up their ratings ALSO..I kept getting fees for job cancellation when I was told by the customer to cancel the job. I also called one of my customers to talk about my arrival to clean their house and she told me that she never posted a cleaning job and that she hadn’t been logged into the app in months. She was confused on why there was a job posting with her name and address when she didn’t post it. All this is suspect and I’m done with the app. DO NOT USE OR RECOMMEND!! I want my information deleted!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!. This app is terrible if your thinking about making some money on the side. I have been on her for some month now and can tell you from personal experience it’s NOTHING great. From the lack of details for the job descriptions, and the LACK OF PAY compared to what the customer ACTUALLY pays, and the “customer service” for the contractors side is RIDICULOUS!!!! I am in the home cleaning business and when i tell you they completely jip us out of a lot of money! They don’t factor in the distance you have to drive let alone the gas you use up. Will charge customers a arm and leg for services but you don’t even receive half of the payout and your doing all of the work. How does a 3 bed 2.5 bath move out clean ever amount to 85$?? And they say you can tell the customer that you need more time to complete what they requested but customers never agree. Plus if you happen to get a slimy customer who will say you never came to the job they automatically charge you the job cost plus an extra 50$ and will clear your schedule!! But you have to jump through hoops to prove your side and our “customer service” side of things makes up every excuse in the book just so they don’t have fix anything or pay you your hard earned money!! It’s giving RACHET!!

Angi services. I highly not recommend this app I have claimed multiple jobs My first job I clean was a lawnmowing and two days before I would drive up it disappeared, and I could not figure out what happened. I did not receive a text saying that they canceled or anything. They just disappeared. The second lawnmowing job I had. I was on my way driving up there and they disappeared. I get to the house and ask them if they canceled. And they said yes, I did not receive a single text or email or anything saying they canceled and wasted gas and my time I just cleaned a job fixing a guy‘s fence for Friday and 20 minutes ago. It disappeared I have no text no emails no information that they canceled and I’ve already bought supplies to fix their fence. This app is the most stupidest app I’ve ever seen and yet us as the ones who claimed the jobs get a fine if we cancel the jobs yet there’s no information us about them canceling the job This is a stupid app. And completely unprofessional I contacted customer support they were super unprofessional and rude. I will not be using this app ever again. me and my dad also used the app and I saw more jobs 50 to 75 miles away where he lives, and he some more jobs 57 miles away where I live more than we saw Jobs next to us

HORRIBLE customer service. I really wanted to love the freedom of working through this app but now I’m ready to uninstall it & move on with my life. On multiple occasions I have set myself as “I’m Not Available” weeks in advance when I know I’m leaving town & yet & still they will automatically book people & have the nerve to treat me as if I accepted these jobs & now have to be responsible for cancelling them!! As we know cancelling comes along with fees & lowering your score etc but why on earth would I cancel OR accept a fee/penalties for mistakes made by Handy? In addition to that when you email customer service because you know there’s no way to speak to a living human; I often find myself feeling like I’m dealing with someone who has very low reading comprehension skills. Then you gotta keep on explaining yourself which causes major frustrations & half the time my problems are left unfixed & then I have to use my own problem solving skills. Handy….DO BETTER!! There are also customers who have complained to me about how frustrating your app is on there end so you’re basically irritating all parties involved

Do NOT get trapped into using this app!. First of all, as a skilled tradesman you should be getting paid fair. I did a job for a customer that paid $262, after completing the job it charged me a $49 fee that it said nothing about in the description. The next job I took I talked to the customer which wanted someone to build a 15’x8’ porch for $75! Not only build it but pick up materials, design the porch and build it (2 person job) all for $75. Then when I didn’t do it bc I’m definitely worth more than that the app charged me $50 because I took the job and didn’t do it but in the job description it said they needed to build a lean to that was 6’x6’ I did everything I could and it still charged me $50. Not only that, I was looking at installing solar panels for someone the job paid $80. So I did some investigating and acted like I wanted to pay someone to have the exact same thing installed, to my surprise, they charged the customer $296 to have it installed. That’s outright robbery. Do your own advertising and get your jobs. You don’t get paid just for the job, you get paid for the years of experience you have on the job!!!

Laughing it’s so bad. I’ve been in the construction game a long time. I’ve been branching out doing my own thing lately picking up my own jobs with no middle man. Out of curiosity I downloaded this app. First off the pay is horrendous I’d probably make more money if I digressed back to that of a laborer working a 50 hour week. I saw one job today to pick up a mattress an hour away for 49 bucks haul it to the dump and Angie services doesn’t even take care of the dump fee? Between fuel and dump costs id make about 5 bucks lol. Another job was to put furniture together for 2 hours they were offering 26 bucks. That’s 13 bucks an hour are these people serious? I can only imagine what would happen if I got a bathroom remodel how much they would rake me over the coals. I was reading jobs where the want you to wear masks indoors, disinfect work areas before and after. Recycle this and recycle that; you must be in compliance with their standards blah blah. You’d have more freedom and probably make more money doing DoorDash. Do yourself a favor make business cards and get business the old fashion way through word of mouth referrals. Don’t let these clowns pick your pocket!!

Handy for Pro’s. Handy does not have any support available for their pro’s. They charge have charged me multiple fees that I cannot get in touch with anybody to dispute. They have charged me for completing a job early which I think is absolutely ridiculous. I have multiple 5 star ratings and I have multiple repeat customers but yet I get charged for being efficient? I have had customers that forgot about their cleaning call into handy and report me as a no show even after reached out to my customer multiple times explaining how to reschedule their cleaning. Handy does not have an option for the pro to reschedule a job, it is solely up to the customer. They charge our customers 3 times what they pay us, and they do not give any pictures or real description of the property. If you show up to a property and the customer lied on the application ( this has happened 4 times) by reporting their home smaller than it is, you get charged for not doing the property and there is no way to inform handy of this. All of this during a pandemic where people need their homes cleaned and sanitized to stay free of harmful bacteria. All of this while those of us working hard to survive can’t afford to lose money on the jobs you are barely paying us for in the first place. Bad business, I do not recommend working for or with handy at all.

A great way to make money. Been doing this for a couple months now. I’ve had a few issues while learning the finer intricacies of the job. But they are pretty good to me and somewhat understanding most of the time when I do something wrong, a customer has an issue or the application has a small bug. It was easy to get hired, took a few days. Rarely do you need to even talk to anyone. And when you do it’s usually through emails and texts. You can do any number of handyman work for money. Cleaning, repair, assembling furniture, lawn work, painting, etc. just choose the jobs that suit you best. Sometimes you don’t get enough information on the jobs you sign up for, they could be labeled wrong, or the customer could be trying to trick extra work out of you for low low rates. This it can make going into a job blind very stressful, but what can you do? Most of the time everyone is super nice. I have a few ideas for how this application could be much more effective and profitable, but unfortunately I know not what to do with my suggestions.

For any pro this is a real review. Avoid this platform angis list has no customer service number for pros. The company takes 50% of total price a lot right. Then they charge $10-15 for being late which is crazy The worse of them all is when you complete a job but they favor the customer who says you no showed and they take back money and claim overpayment. The last thing is the poor and misleading descriptions and details for job scope the service reps on the phone are so uneducated about any of this stuff it’s unreal they are no help to the clients that need work done most of the time I have to direct them to what needs to be done and also picture should be mandatory and displayed before the claim box shows up And at last I have 45 completed jobs $8000 made on the platform some clients where gems Most where horrible and very cheap to the point of making 7-12$ a hour not including traveling the platform and your able to leave at the time given problem is I did one time and they said I left the job incomplete and I said you refused to pay for the additional time needs as angi pays by the hour not the job it’s a complete money grab I found it best to give these Clients my direct number and cancel Job do it private as angi for pros and angi leads are both scams I did both of them word to mouth is best hand cards and flyers out and you will be fine

Only if zero stars is possible. Working with handy is a pain… I don’t care what you do and how much you followed the instructions, they will always take their customer’s side. They are very sneaky and not trustworthy. They would lie against you as a pro just to satisfy their clients. I worked with them for three years before leaving this review so I know exactly what I have endured. Handy would slap you in the face and make you feel stupid for your hard labor. If you can find other companies… do it cause they’ll probably treat you way better. Let’s not even get into talking about most of their customers 🤦🏾‍♀️. Most are Very rude and unappreciative ( over time, I found out that’s handy’s fault ). Never have an emergency because even if it has to do with your life… you still gonna get charged for it. Jobs get canceled up to a few hours before the booking. You labor hard and only very few customers makes it worth it. Before you sign a contract with them, understand that they don’t care about you as a pro, the only thing that matters is satisfying their customers even if it means kissing A**es or incurring $345 for a job you did right or followed all procedures.

Livable wages BUT BEWARE. It’s a constant battle between customers and the app. They will always take the customers side and fine you $50+ then you have to email them and dispute the issue. They don’t have a phone number for pros but have one for customers. Example is recently a customer didn’t show up at the appointed time so I marked it a no show and got paid and went on my way. Then 30 minutes down the road they call me and begged me to come back telling me every sob story in the book. So here I am going above and beyond I turned around and did a variety of tasks for the customer In the allotted time that I was given. I told the customer she lost an hour because I already was here and she didn’t show up and I had other appointments after hers so I couldn’t stay later. I even hauled bulk waste from her house to make the customer happy which wasn’t in the job order. She complained I didn’t show up on time after I left and now I’m down 50 bucks off a $75 job. It’s been 4 days and no reply from the app. I have a bunch of other instances where a cheap-o customer rips off the app and therefore rips off the tech. Good news is I made $3000 last month working 6 days a week. Definitely not a solid job. Both the app and the customer expect you to be a miracle worker. Good Luck!

Nice but some quirks. Love the concept. More can be done with the app though. - why can’t pros read reviews? Would help to know what the issues were rather than only see our overall rating. - allow communication before a “claim” - have to claim job just to get useful details,.... then get a negative reaction to your keep rate simply because you wanted to make sure the job was specifically something you could handle. - allow a search radius - should be my choice if I want to see jobs 95 miles away - allow a price filter - would be nice to be able to see the higher paying jobs sometimes - don’t allow recurring jobs for work not scheduled through handy - sometimes they don’t know what they’ve done and aren’t expecting people - allow rescheduling back to an earlier date/time - if job is set for Saturday at noon and change it to Saturday at 3pm for a reason BUT I should be allowed to go back Saturday at noon - helps customer sometimes. - force customer to have some sort of communication listed - makes things easier - did not like getting a 1 star review for arriving on time, checking into job, speaking with customer directly, being told work was completed from outside source, checking out and getting 1 star review - negatively affects my potential for something outside of my control Overall, love the concept. Love the work. Love the quests. Money is great too. Everything can’t be fixed but there are some items that can be improved. Thanks.

Scam!!!!. I went to the booking location of the Customers home and made every attempt to contact them as in ringing the doorbell knocking on their door calling and messaging and they still do not answer. I wait, mark to job as customer no show in the app. I leave. 30 minutes later I get a notification Confirming the job for today at 12:00. This message came in at 12:30pm. I pull open the app. The booking now says $0!!!!! (Was $118) I was expecting $118! I made every attempt to do this job and contact the customer when they were not answering the door. The customer was not there so I wasn’t able to retrieve the item (mattress) to be hauled away!!!! It’s stated in the contract about this!!! This is upsurd! The pro (me) use this app for that reason, the security in transactions that I won’t be scammed by the customer. So you’re telling me I rented a truck, drive 20 miles to this location and because the customer wasn’t home (when it clearly states on the booking that they will be) and I get $0!!!???? So I’m OUT the money spent not only MY TIME, THE TRUCK, AND GAS AND MILEAGE FOR No PAY WHEN I WAS PROMISED $118!!! THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL A SCAM!!!! Unless you like working for free and using all your resources for free STAY CLEAR OF THIS APP!

Handyman. I thought this app was the best thing ever up until the other day when I tried going on and couldn’t. I’ve had to deal with so many issues the past week customers not home customers not wanting to approve more time to get the job done but yet they want you to finish. Come to find out I can’t log on because I was deactivated? I don’t know why? It said something about my rating however it was 3.16 I guess that’s bad. How is it that jobs that canceled or where a no show are allowed to give you a rating? What are they rating you on? It shouldn’t count but it does and they hold it against you. I know for a fact that customers that I did do work for where very happy with my work. I’ve tried reaching out to pro support I haven’t heard back. Getting anyone on the phone is impossible. I don’t recommend this app. I actually recommend people that use it to find a different one. I read these reviews and I wish I would have done it before. All I have to say is I’m going to talk to a lawyer. CLASS ACTION SOON TO COME!! Is it me or are all the responses from the app are the same. It seems like it’s computer generated.

Be careful( updated at bottom DO NOT TRuST). I recently used these guys to fill in some time while waiting for a large job to start. I’ve been lucky on most but the descriptions are not satisfactory, I went to one job that was described as sealing a leaky window and it was actually replace a door, interior/exterior trim, remove a window- fram around in, install new window. Most recently I went to hang a tv on my day off. I could not get into the customers unit and followed the instructions on the app to the letter. They later tried to send me a fee for missing a job. After way too much time trying to reach someone, the arguing, they agreed to remove the fee but then also removed my pay claiming I was 4 min late on. A job I am certain I was 12 min early. They basically told me that I was late because they said so(all the digital proof on my app conveniently had been removed). A couple odd jobs would consider them but if you’re looking for regular work you’d be better off on your own.... UPDATE. After arguing for the money they owe me. They started sending me missed job reports for jobs I didn’t schedule. And adding fees for missing jobs that didn’t exist!

Flexibility is great, customer support is terrible!!. I’ve been an independent contractor on the platform for over a year with hundreds of completed jobs and a five star rating! First, I’d like to put out there this is a great way to make money on the side and as long as you’re good at the job you’ll continue to gain more clients and experience. You can 100% tailor your own schedule and take time off when needed since you are your own boss. Here’s the part I’m not fond of. Customer support is terrible. Not all booking have accurate info, such as; incomplete addresses, disconnected phone numbers, incorrect dates/times, etc and if you need help with a booking you will be resortibsck to the customer that has a disconnect phone number. Cons- Customer support will only pay you for two hours of time if your customer cancels upon arrival. Some contractors depend on every penny they’re scheduled to make and some contractors commute long distances. Angi also charges a fee to “CASH OUT” our own hard earned money ontop of the fee Angi charges to have a “Pro” status. Customer can cancel up to 12 hours before booking with no penalty. Independent contractor are charged $20 if cancelling 48 hours or less. Angi doesn’t pay for gas, suppplies, holiday pay or reward their high ranking contractors.

Stay clear. The app is horrible! Angi has cancellation fees through the roof! (Just for the PROs, customers can cancel at anytime and without any penalties, but if you dare to cancel within 24-48 hours you’ll be charged! The payments don’t make any sense! One job can be $100 for 2 hours and another will be $200 for the same job and time! They is no clarity of how the money is split up, leaving you questions what the customer is paying. I had a roof job in a two story house where I was paid $400 and the customer was charged $750. If your looking to work harder this is the app for you. Make sure to wait 30 minutes and call and text the customer when they are not home, or they’ll charge you for not showing up. Don’t get me started on customer service, or the lack of any, it’s a text message system with no calling! So you’ll spend 30 minutes for no conclusion. They 100% outsource to cheaper labor in India for that part. They’ll give you the round about without without answering any questions. ( just the good old copy and past) I don’t know why there hasn’t been a class action lawsuit against them, but it won’t surprise me if there is on in the future! Bottom line this app is garbage, tryout, TaskRabbit or something different. They definitely scam workers (that provide them money with their own tools and labor for no benefits and crappy pay) really really really hard.

Overcharge Pro’s & WORK FOR FREE. First, let me just say this so you don’t have to read the entire review to RUN! Look at the reviews. All of us say pretty much the same thing. I’ve been working for Handy since 2017. At one point they harassed me until I came back to the app. They charge customers $50/hr but you won’t make 1/2 of that. 1/10th of the customers tip. If customers don’t want to pay for your service they will simply lie and state that you never showed up. Then Handy will charge you fees and take back everything paid for the job. No matter what proof you provide. I’ve seen them go back as far as up to a year. Yes, they take back the money they paid you, charge you fees and now you are forced to work for free. I’ve taken before and after pictures. Outside pictures of the home with the time stamp clearly labeled etc. this company as a whole is the biggest scammer of professionals. Start your own cleaning company and market yourself. You will make more money and get better clients then the nasty houses they schedule you for 2-3 hours (that’s not even safe). When I provided all the proof they needed they deactivated me from the app, removed all of my jobs and charged me. BEWARE!!!! Lastly, customer’s expectations are that you bring a helper at no additional costs to them.

Customer Scheduling. I’m a contractor that uses the handy pro app. One thing I’m happy about is it a great way to keep my guys busy when there is a slow day. I marked the review with one star for several reasons. I’ve received a lot of negative feedback by the customers. I’ve received several complaints due to the lack of communication by Handy. One customer in particular complained having to schedule eight different times. This equates to six to eight weeks of a very unhappy customer. In some instances handy would schedule the job without ever communicating with the customer. This brings me to my next reason. I’ve accepted jobs through the handy app and either the customer had no idea I was coming, wasn’t home, or it was the wrong job or address. I consider myself as reliable and dependable. If I accept a job, I’m going to be there to do the job on time. I live remote and accept jobs typ an hour away. When I accept a job, my expectation are that Handy has communicated with the customer and they know I’m coming. Per Sarah Ottosen Handy rep, Handy only gives $50 for a trip charge. When the job is more than an hour and customer isn’t home $50 barely pays the fuel. I half day was waisted. I don’t believe she represented Handy very well in this instance. The customer not being home was no fault of my own and the contractor should not be penalized.

Issues with rates and pay. I loved working with Handy Pro but Angi! Still the same problems I had when I worked with Angi List Pro. Terrible customer service. I use the app for a side hustle but I constantly am put in positions to where I am paid for only an hour and a half for a 2-3 hour job. Then you feel guilty for not completing the job even time is up, but we as the contractor can not extend time nor does the customer know they need to. To make $24 for 2-3 hours of work along with driving. It wouldn’t be worth it without a quest. Now when it comes to the payout, I feel scammed. I will complete a quest and let’s say I have $198 on my balance to be paid out on. My actual payout reported will be $98. Where did the $100 go? Why do I always get an automated response about wait 5 days to receive it. No, I shouldn’t wait 5 days to get $98 then be told wait AGAIN to receive the $100. Just to include them getting $1.99 fee for BOTH transactions when it should’ve been one. I am honestly at my end on giving Angi a chance to show improvement on their services.

Ripp Off. I wish I can give them a negative 1… the support team is very un- professional, rude, and just plain nasty toward cleaners and they are NOT clear on they rules and charging fees for no reason… if you show up at the house and the customer is a no show you suppose to get paid for the job… wrong … if the customer lie and said they were there they charge you a$125 fee even if you got the prof u were there.. they already ripping cleaners off they charging the customer $230 while the cleaner only make $68… no matter how bad the house is or how big the house they still pay you $68 while they charge the customer for everything extra and sometimes the customers told me they pay they like $286… really sad wen the cleaners do all the work and supply the cleaning products… Do yourself a favor and don’t get involved with this app… they don’t care about the cleaners all they care about is making money off of your hard work while you work yourself to the bone for scraps… they don’t even have the balls to back you up when a client is lying… when u work for them u are guaranteed to work yourself to death for pennies and your money is a gamble because they will take it back from you if the customer say any tiny thing.. and don’t bother defending yourself becuz they don’t want to hear it

Predatory to the extreme.. They pay you less than half of what they are charging the customer on wayfair. Look up any job or item installation charge in wayfair and then see what they are cutting you in for. It’s abysmal.

Thieves and scammers.Taking money from the workers work for the company.. Their system does not make sense. If you want to work start your own or work with task rabbit. It’s a great app but NEVER EVER WORK FOR ANGI SERVICES . They had deducted more than 500$ of my pay. Every time they make excuses that you did not do this or that. I had worked more than 80 jobs with handy so far. Every time they have some issue. They always look for places to cut your pay. They don’t trust their handy man they only trust what customer says. If you do the great services for customer complete the job on time even though they deduct the money for no show or pate arrivals. Upon asking that this is the wrong charge they start making excuses. Lastly I was having a customer name Elizabeth Meuser. Half hour before the job she called me and told me that the furniture is not arrived please don’t come She wants to reschedule. So technically I did not go as customer said no need to come. She did not know how to reschedule so I told her how to do it. And then she told handy office that the handyman did not arrived. So Handy directly deducted 50$ for not show and did not even compensate for late cancellation. I was almost reached the customers house. Drove 1 hr.How does it make sense if the customer did not want you to come at her house even though you go and disturb Worst app and worst business I don’t even want to give 1 star to this beggars. THEY TAKE MORE THAN 80% OF WHAT THEY CHARGE TO CUSTOMERS.

This app should be shut down. I got my app revoked and my $1000 I earned didn’t go through. I tried to update my account but it didn’t go through. This is a scam!! And the owner is very disrespectful!!!

Pathetic Support for Prefessionals. There are no options to put negative stars I wish there was. Anyway, to all professionals and those are thinking to become one. Please note angi or handy or whatever they believe you are robots with at least 4 hands configuration on your body and can do jobs for example fix a complex double bed or one those gigantic dressers which have at least 8 drawers in less than 1.5 hours. And when you request for extra hours those which confirmed by client via chat messages (as advised by angi job description) they will keep saying they need to confirm from client as they cannot do it. So they want the Job to be done in immaculate way but wont pay for it. You may feel its a good gig and you will do your best to make a customer happy and satisfied, unfortunately the company thinks differently. Rest up to the individual. It is what it is. Cheers!

So damned app. You can be deactivated for no reason. This is a heartbreaking issue as well as showing the low quality of the company. Imagine you are a good handyman but got deactivation and even no word about the reason after 10 days. Be careful if the estimated time for job is exceed. According to rules handyman should ask for extension time. but if client asks handy team about it, handy team says the company will accommodate you then they gonna bother you. Angi. Why have you people not paid me for all my jobs I keep sending mails and yet you don’t respond to them I think I should report to Canada authorities

I have never seen a worst support team than this app, they’re promoting false information about their bonuses and when you do what they ask for the bonus, they did not pay me when I reached the support team, he told me that you should have done some other type of job to be eligible for the bonus! And when I asked him how can I find out about the job type or there was no information about the job type in the email they sent me, his answer was that’s all I can do for you!

DO NOT USE OR TRUST HANDY. Never trust a work sharing app that does not allow you to call them directly, Handy is one of those apps. Anyone who is doing work for any entity should have a direct and reliable point of contact with that entity to address concerns and disputes with. Handy is a professional at sweeping your issues under the rug. They will ignore your emails and brush you off as long as humanly possible to avoid paying what they owe you. They will charge you fees for things that are out of your control, and the worst part is that you agreed to allow them to do that when you accepted the term policy at sign-up, a lot of people must not have read through it but I did on the other hand. Do not trust Handy. I recommend you to print a business card and take their customers if you do use this app. Their business practices are so deceptive and horrible I’d be willing to bet that the developer response to this review is the same generic cut and paste response that they left for all the other 1 star reviews. Expect the same type of cut and paste response to any emails you send them in regards to disputes about your earnings. The email they are going to respond to this review by telling me to reach out to, is the same email they’ve been ignoring me on for weeks. F*** you handy.

Haven’t been able to login. Upon signing up for the app I entered the wrong phone number. I fixed it and for a month now have been trying to get a hold of someone in your customer service to help me login. No one has helped me. BIG waste of time. I am concerned now though that you have private information of mine and I am not able to access my own account. No one is getting back to me. Not impressed and down right concerned at this point.

Utter crap. App has horrible support available. Had issues with setting up my account, wasn’t able to fix myself so I went to an agent. The agent didn’t even know what the app provided and it was clear the agent had no idea what they were talking about.

This should be banned. I started using this app in Vancouver, Canada, at the beginning I was exited because looked a very easy and friendly app but the paying amounts are nothing, most of the jobs you’ll get are furniture assembly from wayfare, so they charged to the costumer “expert assembly” for a desk $137.99 and they want to pay you $31.5 dollars for a job that they expect you would finished in 1.25 hrs, and like that one you will see tons of jobs, then if you spend more time is a pain in the …. Get paid for that extra time, if you wanna make money using self employed apps, do deliveries or Uber, anything else but this. You will lose money whit this joke rates. Plus the support is the worst I never seen before, all those reviews “they were so friendly working with them” totally fake!!

Lowest of low company. I’ve done 100+ jobs on this app. Now what’s the issue you might say? If you value your schedule even my a little bit I wouldn’t use this app. I run my own business as well, as being a handy pro is definitely not a way to live in Toronto. When you schedule a job and decide to cancel later, you get charged a fee! No negotiations, that’s it. Handy automated god system doesn’t make mistakes in the world of service business where humans are involved and being a robot isn’t as easy as the guys in who work in handy offices. On the other hand when a customer cancels on you or decides last minute. You don’t even get notified of the cancelation. Now next day you wake up thinking you had jobs and you will be able to pay your bills no problem. But think again, if you haven’t checked your app for a cancellation in the previous 12 hours, you might be disappointed. This app is the lowest of the low type of culture, non existent respect. App steals your money. I signed up as a pro and went to a job to assemble some furniture. I did complete the task and the customer was happy. I did check in and check out in the app as per instructions. Later on this app marks the job as a no show and charged me a $100 fee. So essentially you are working for them and you pay them on top of that. Wouldn’t recommend this app to my worst enemy. Beware if you are going to sign up and work through them.

Very poor employee support. Trash. You have to earn $50 to get paid immediately. Totally trash when it comes to employee relations. A customer was not home per my arrival. I followed all procedures. I arrived 3 minutes early, I rang the doorbell, texted, took a picture, waited in the area 33 minutes before leaving (all procedure steps). After the procedures were followed I logged the customer was not home which constitutes a cancellation fee. The customer texted back 38 minutes later, the key was under the mat, then proceeded to log into the app I was late. I immediately contacted support to be told there’s nothing that can be done because they can’t track my location which was sent in the picture and they don’t see my check in. I could not report the client not being home without checking in. Worst company ever. Waste of my time and gas. All texts go through the app there’s no way they did not see me there or didn’t see our texts. Trash company

Thieves, will gauge on pro’s labor and payment.. Dear pros, handyman’s and such. Beware they’ll try often to still and blame “the system” and they can’t make adjustments. If the app glitch and you can’t check in out out or if you need more time they will not pay you!!! No matter how much you explain them, they will blame the system. Already on top of taking up to 66% of what the customer pay them. Example, I installed a TV, got paid $71 and customer paid $221 and was disgusted. I strongly suggest you just use this app to get new customers and have them call you directly after. Another example, I put together 2 tables and 6 chairs, wasn’t able to put the last 2 chairs together because hardware was missing, they only paid me half although I finished 80% of the job, disgusting…they are thieves…every time I tell the customer how much Angi keep they are outraged.

From an honest handy man. Hey y’all, So I’ve been using this app for probably 5-6 months now. All honesty it’s the simplest handyman app out there. Nothing quite competes. You know what you’re getting paid for the jobs. You know what the job is. Best thing is you get free direct deposit same day with no charge for the time being. There’s also these quests that give you extra money that pop up every so often. Worst thing about the app in my opinion is the job description for the quote “handyman” jobs. Or jobs from other apps like home advisor. They lack on telling you what exactly you’ll be doing. My recommendation for the app makers is to allow customers to add photos to the job so the professional knows what equipment is needed for the job.

They Let Customers Steal Services For Free!. I never write reviews for anything but this experience has been terrible. I had a customer agree to have us come out two days ahead of the date scheduled. We performed the service and payments are made through the app. The app does not allow you to show that you performed the work at any other time than the exact hour window on the schedule. So even though we performed the “Friday” job on a Wednesday, the scum customer “canceled” the job the next day on Thursday and now Angi refuses to pay us. I have a detailed chat confirming the early service date as well as detailed before and after pictures of the work. 1 month and 4 representatives later and Angi is still refusing to pay for a simple $50 job. Also found out from another customer that they are being charged roughly triple what the service professionals are being paid. We were being paid $75 for a small job and the customer showed me their Angi bill of $210! WILL NEVER USE AGAIN

I liked this app better when handy owned it. It’s very annoying when a customer is a no show after spending gas and money on supplies and only get paid a small portion of the job! I spent almost 30 bucks on supplies for the customer to be a no show and only get 30 bucks I literally made a 4 dollar profit not including wasted gas! It takes so long for a customer service rep to even get back with you and even then nothing is really done about it. With inflation and the holidays people with kids can’t afford to waste money or time and that’s exactly what’s happening on this app a little too much! It’s so infuriating to have to spend your money on supplies and then get stiffed in the end! Not to mention these jobs where the client thinks you’re supposed to do a whole house for 45 dollars (3 bedroom 2bath most of the time) and get upset when you leave once their time frame is over complaining how much they paid for a booking and I can’t be super sympathetic because I’m only getting paid a very small portion of what you paid!

Do not work here!. I like the app and how easy is to navigate and schedule your appointments, etc etc in my experience so far the app should include a better description in details about the job we are doing,Some customers don’t fill out enough info(dishonest) so you are clueless when you get there, and most of the time there is extra work and not enough time to finish and customers don’t want to add anymore time, Handy for pros charge way much for jobs and we get so little, customers add extra task and want to pay so little, “Do not work here waste of gas and time” must drive miles to do a job, when you add multiple tasks during the day handy for pros cancels your jobs in purpose, rip off by handy for pros and customers. Handy for pros controls everything and won’t let you obtain those incentives. Very discouraging company.

Lacks clarity and honesty, under compensates jobs. Upon sign up, I received what appeared to be a promising lead, I accepted the job. Handy pro app booked me, then didn’t reveal the details of the work until my account was fully processed. Once the job appeared, the work to be done is hundred if not low thousands in normal electrical work, the app says my profile will receive a negative rating if I cancel it. Further it’s over an hour away from the city I signed up in. I’ll spend half the compensation on fuel just traveling to the job. I submitted a support request to address it and received an automated response that someone would contact me in 3 hours. I’ve been waiting all day without a response. I searched the frequently asked questions, and only determined that if I cancel early there’s no fee, but when I try and cancel it warns of a negative impact to my rating. This particular job should cost nearly 5-10x the amount offered, depending on situation on site. No way I would waste my time otherwise, I may remain independent if it isn’t resolved.

The APP itself and Handy Pro support. The app itself is absolute garbage. Something as simple as removing a service from your skills (ie. I want to remove Home Cleaning as a service I provide and whenever I update that, it takes me right back to the list of available jobs and still shows all the home cleaning jobs), the app is purely a lackluster copy and paste machine from wherever the furniture or yard work, etc. was scheduled. These are just a couple baseline issues. There is absolutely 0 support from Handy the company. You can’t speak to anyone on the phone and the responses from email/chat are just copy and paste from a script the customer service reps have. Customers can cancel jobs that you’ve had on your schedule for almost 2 weeks the day before so you as the Pro have been missing out on other potential jobs and receive no Compensation and at this point have lost money. The concept of this app and service is fantastic but you as the Pro are often times the one being shafted.

Don’t waste your time ripoff. I would give no stars but U have to. If you want to get ripped off and not payed then use them. I have worked for this company for almost a year and I can tell you don’t waste your time. The app is horrible and crashes all the time, they use gos from your phone so guess what no service the say you were never there and charge you. I have contacted them numerous times about this and get a run around. Customer service is even worse, no loyalty to the worker. The latest was them removing me from the platform because I missed a job on the 31st, I received this notice on the 26th and 28th, both times before the job date. The customer actually canceled and they went and charged me fees and cleared my schedule. I have proof of all this from the chat transcripts they send. They say they will fix it but never do then just terminate you for no reason and never pay what is owed. Still waiting for a email response.

Worst gig app ever. Literally they punish you by not paying you if their system is messed up and they just say “we are sorry” and that’s it. I was owed $85 for a job that the customer never showed up for even though it was a job I needed to do inside and after waiting for literally a hour and a half after I checked in and I reported the customer not home they said that the system showed I was only there for 10 minutes. I showed them proof of the time I got there from a picture and a picture after I left with the time but they said they can’t do anything about it. I lost all this money even though it was a 2 hour drive. Don’t waste ur time. If u do it just tell the customer to pay u cash and cancel the job on their end. U will get paid more because this app takes literally 80% of the pay. The job I was on paid me originally $100 but costs the customer $700 from the app. So yeah.

A HASSLE!!. This app is only good for convenience and building your clientele. They charge clients a certain amount and then determine what percentage you get. I’ve talked to numerous customers and I felt ripped off because I sometimes received LESS than half of what they were charged. I’m not sure how payment is determined but someone booking should not be making more than someone doing the job. I’ve also had too many instances where I had to FIGHT for my payment between incorrect payment amounts, payment not showing, and job description not matching work/pay. Then when you ask for help/update, will tell you that you can just cancel the job. Just an overall headache because there’s not even a number you can call, everything is chat/computer operated.

Absolute Trash - Will cost YOU time/money.. App is garbage. No way to see your schedule and the jobs available calendar at the same time so no way to identify if you are open that time/day. as jobs come in you only have one opportunity to claim them before they are either claimed by someone else or disappear from your profile. When a new job pops up you cannot see what job details are unless opening it in the app. Notifications for jobs only show the job city/price/date. Support if chat or email only. Angi will auto assign jobs to your schedule that are below your set pay scale and then remove the options from that booking so that you can’t cancel the auto-booming unless you chat with Angi support for 30 mins to get it cancelled. Total waste of time. If you are a cleaner or lawn person forget about it as the rates are like $35 for a 4 bedroom house cleaning all rooms and surfaces. The Angi is ripping off homeowners and workers at the same time. They charge at least 100% markup of whatever you are being paid.

Angi. Y’all tripping saying it’s fraud or scam. Not true I claims lots of assembly gigs. 4 gigs a day at 45 per gig that’s 180 a day times that by 7 days a week that’s 1,260 a week. Y’all need to give your phone notifications on and volume up because any gigs can be claim by other contractors quick. Then there’s cash tips from customers and they will book you for future gigs. The ones that being negative just don’t get mad patience play a big role. I now have more freedom to be home spend more time with the kids. I’m living good now, customer service is not rude or disrespectful. Even in bad or very bad situations never lose your composure or character. Always try to be kind and respectful to others because we are not perfect. The only thing you can do is perfect yourself to better yourself.

Pro worker. Today I had a job assignment, The title was called: furniture assembly. I got to the address, I ring the doorbell, the owner answered the door, very polite with a great sense of humor. As we’re walking through I’m looking for the ( TV STAND ) that I’m supposed to put together. He takes me to the sink in the kitchen he says “here’s the sink” at this point I’m confused and I’m still thinking “TV STAND” well the guy continues talking about the sink. Now I’m thinking “oh man, wrong information again omg” someone doesn’t know what there doing on the booking side of things. The owner called “ Wayfair the company that sold and booked the installation. The tools recommended for this job was listed as ( Drill, Hammer, and screwdriver. You cannot install a sink with the handrail a hammer and a screwdriver those were the only tools recommended to install this sink. Those are the tools needed to build a TV stand.

Stay Away. This is a horrible company to work with. First off they charge a customer $80 per hour and you get $20. The customer chooses how many hours a project should take, so the amount of time it takes is always wrong, when you tell the customer it’s gonna take twice as long and you need to charge extra they get mad at you and mostly don’t pay. So now you’re making $10 per hour plus the drive time. Their support for you doesn’t exist, you can send an email and you’re lucky if they reply. You can’t connect with a customer to ask questions until after you accept the job, if it turns the job is not what you expected and decide to turn down job Handy usually fines you. The date and time is already determined so trying to create an efficient schedule is nearly impossible. By time you get there to do a job the customer has been rescheduled on, sometimes twice. This is a horrible company , for crap pay with no support. Stay away

It shouldn’t take so long to be paid... So far my experience has been really good. I’ve only completed 5 jobs so far and they went really well. My only issue is the amount of time it takes to be paid. Cash Out Now should be called Get Your Cash in 10 day regardless. I’m pretty used to gig work through apps and every other one you can cash out the same day for a smaller fee than Angi charges. It is a a problem waiting so long to be paid because we have to pay for gas and supplies.. I have jobs lined up that I’m going to have to cancel until I finally get paid just so that I can purchase what I need to work. Angi please fix the time it takes to pay your pros, customers have already paid so the money is there. It should not take so long to get paid.

CALLS ME A LIAR WHEN I HAVE PROOF OTHERWISE!. Handy says I missed a job, which is not true. I have screenshots from their app proving my check in time of 3:06 and check out time of 3:54pm. Jon started at 3pm. Handy charged me $50 for a no show and removed another $50 because they said they overpaid me for a $100 total charge. Handy lied and said the app says I got there at 3:54pm. I have screenshots and proof is still in the app that I was there at 3:06pm and left at 3:54pm. I have talked to support over 10 times and they will not fix this unless the customer contacts them. I have told them what the item was, the address, who was there, provided screenshots from their app proving I was there. Handy doesn’t trust their contractor even when the contractor has proof of completing the job. Handy still won’t resolve the issue, rather calling me a liar and insinuating my screenshots aren’t good enough. Also, the customer never contacted Handy. Handy took it upon themselves to rip me off. I have shown them with their own app that Handy is in the wrong and the back and forth for over 2 weeks over a simple issue has forced me to file complaints with: California Labor Board BBB and more……….. Handy won’t give me my money earned because a customer won’t contact them back. How is this my fault? I did the job, checked in on time and checked out.

Cutting our pay. I like being able to service the customers I think I do a very good job at my job and the company is cutting our pay at a crucial time instead of cutting our pay because without us it wouldn’t be a company should be going up on the customers gas as I keep putting a lot of miles on our car to get to these customers products are right now even the dollar tree don’t wanna sell to be cutting our pay is such a crucial time I don’t think it’s right you have companies like Uber that’s charging extra just for gas because of the prices some of these jobs aren’t even worth what we’re getting paid so I’m hoping to see an improvement soon

Workers Beware!. Wish I could give them a -5 or more. They truly don’t care to let you know if a job is cancelled, but if you need to cancel they charge you a fee. They only ever take the customers word, so if they lie and say “the worker damaged my property” that’s your account and you get blocked without notice. Don’t even think they’ll hear you out about trying to defend yourself. If you need more hours, sometimes the customer doesn’t even call them to let them know, so you end up working for free because “the customer is always right”. Need to call them while you’re at a job? They don’t have a phone number for workers, but they do have an email that they’ll reach out to you again within 1-3 hours.. The list goes on and on. I would say this app is for temporary use or even to gain clientele. That’s about it. I really hope they fix these things because the talk about this company is like the price of gas nowadays… terrible.

Pay rate. The pay rate is unfair specially when I’ve been working for handy for 4plus years. Walmart employees make more than a handy cleaner. I moved from west palm beach to Tampa and my pay rate went from 15 to 12hr. Handy doesn’t supply any products and doesn’t pay for gas. Pay should be based on performance and how many years of experience. I found my own clients that are paying me 20 to 25hr. The customers cancel within 24hrs I don’t receive a dime but if I need to cancel I get charged a fee. They don’t charge to cash out anymore which is nice. Fees and pay rates need improvement. Please screenshot check ins and check outs, msgs from customers if you’re currently working for handy it will help if there are any issues with payment.

Terrible for Pros. I’ve been using this for 2 years (back when it was Handy) so I know what I’m talking about. It wasn’t great then but I tolerated it for the smattering of moonlight gigs I could get. Since Angi has taken over it has become useless. Most recently I was assessed a “fee” of $175 claiming I had not shown up for a job 2 MONTHS AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETED. The job took 3 hours longer than the usual under estimated hours they allot you and I didn’t charge Angi for that. The customer hated the experience on their end so much they never want to use it ever again. “Pro service” claims they can’t reverse the fee until they contact the client, who by the way NEVER COMPLAINED THE JOB WASNT DONE! Also, hackers have figured out a way to snipe jobs from the job board and I’ve been complaining about this for a year with no response. Bottom line. Angi just wants money and they don’t care how they get it. Their support staff under Angi is useless. DO NOT USE THIS APP FOR WORK - YOU WILL BE USED AND RIPPED OFF!

Negative Stars. Compete and total rip off for customers and Pros. Angie took over handy and sent it straight off a cliff. They charge the customers 2 to 3x what they pay Pros. And us pros are licensed and insured independent constructors (or supposed to be) you’re better off meeting the customer JUST to tell them to never use Angie for anything ever again. Can you imagine paying $400 for a service just to have someone show up and only make $75? I mean wouldn’t you rather just pay the Man doing the work. There is no benefit of Angie, it is a scam. I have personally seen Angie charge a customer HUNDREDS more for a call back when the first pro didn’t do the job correctly. And still only pay the second guy Pennie’s on the dollar

DONT GET THIS APP. At first I got this app because it allowed flexibility in work schedule. After using the app it does not let you speak with the customer to ensure that you have everything you need for the job nor what you are getting into. RED FLAG 1. As a professional you are charged cancelation fees if the job is canceled within certain time frames but guess what! The customer is not charged any kind of cancelation fee if they cancel last minute and you do not receive any payment. RED FLAG 2 If you have any issues and need to contact support you are better off talking with a 3 year old to solve the issue than them. They don’t believe what you say and only the customer is right. If the customer reports you as a now show even if you have proof that you did show up they will not pay you but also CHARGE YOU. RED FLAG 3 I have used plenty of other apps similar to this one and they are so much better. The customer is ripped off just as much. Customers are charged over 3x of what we get paid and are under false presumptions. We are limited to an amount of time and if we need to get pad for additional time the customer is the only one allowed to approve it but they get charged even more than what they already paid. This is unfortunate because you are out in a dangerous position as the face of the organization and at the same time not protected against any injustice. Anyone looking to use this app for extra cash or full time job don’t. There are better alternatives.

Disrespectful of time. I’ve worked for Handy for some time. I was charged for cancelations but the clients can cancel and the cleaner is not adequately compensated yet Handy is compensated when either party cancels. It’s a predatory business that generates a lot of negative energy between cleaners and clients. I’m no longer working with the company as I was earning less than I was cleaning on my own which is 40 per hour. The cleaners are docked pay and are expected to pay handy if they cancel or are late. The client deserves a peaceful experience and the cleaner deserves adequate compensation. I won’t hire handy but I would possibly hire a cleaner from handy off of the platform. I was a hard worker and several clients would have prefffered I worked directly with them. I chose to quit those jobs as well because it didn’t feel ethical. I think handy would go best to connect cleaners with clients at a 10 dollar fee per cleaning. Allow the cleaners to be adequately compensated.

Garbage system. A very nasty platform, a head-to-toe garbage system. Everywhere deception everywhere lies all that the rules of the type are written but not how they do not work for workers. We did everything in order to deceive people and earn money through our labor! It is better not to get involved with such not honest and false programs and not when not to go to such. There are super platforms that honestly clearly and specifically do everything and you get money for all orders as soon as you wish! And then they spin your money for days and make more money on them and after a week they give you back! And like in the rules there is that you can withdraw money at any time, but there is no such thing because the stupid employees of the system are stupidly repeating the same thing like a parrot! And how they want to talk to you like that, they do not care about our work and their work is interested in money that they take from us by fraud! In a word, I do not advise anyone to download this deceitful APPLICATION!

I don’t understand how this is so highly rated. Customer service for pros is practically non existent(there’s not even a phone number) The job descriptions barley give you any information about the jobs and you cannot talk to the customer(if they even have the actual app/answer) until after you claim and 24 hours before the job. If you do furniture assembly they no longer tell you what you are assembling and frequently underestimate the amount of time(and payment). Essentially they want you to blindly claim jobs so you can’t cherry pick the ones that are actually worth doing. Handy tries their hardest to fee you for anything and everything. The fees are not cheep either. Half the phone numbers they give you for customers aren’t even the correct number. It’s not worth it to work for handy unless you absolutely have too. You are better off advertising on Craigslist.

Ratings. I recently received an email that my ratings were not up to par, when all of my ratings were 5 stars, and One client rated me 3 stars because I couldn’t finish her place due to her not putting her pets away as i requested when i arrived. She had 3 dogs, and three cats, one dog was left out and the 3 cats kept popping up out of nowhere scaring the crap outta me, one jumped across the kitchen counter as i tried to clean it. So i cleaned everything as much as I could, i didn’t clean rest of cabinets because of the animals in the way, and it just was wrong that Handy threatened to remove me from the platform for this. This app doesn’t care about the people working, they believe the customer over you . Also you never know who rated you for sure. And it should let us add feed back on each customer.

Please fix. Loving the app so far. One week in and all the clients have been nice and the work requested has been solid pay out. One thing that needs to be addressed, is an error with jobs requiring 2 Pros and only 1 Pro showing up. This has happened to me one both sides. I was 10 minutes tardy to showing up to a job (I know) and the Pro I was supposed to be working along side of was already finished. It was a relatively small job that honestly didn’t require 2 people to begin with, but I digress. None the less I got paid (not proud of getting paid for work I didn’t do…) My most recent job involved a light fixture install, that was more time consuming than anything because of the design of the fixture needing to be decorated. The pay out was about $150 per pro. So if this is the case I did all the work and get half the money?…. This needs to get fixed ASAP. I suggest the absent pro gets audited or the pro that did all the work collects both bounties so to speak. IDK. This could be big potential problem for both Pros and clients alike. Seeing as less pros might not accept 2 pro jobs and client satisfaction might suffer when only 1 pro is present on a 2 pro job.

Scams Lies & Greed.. I have paid handy well over $1000 in fees alone since I’ve been on the platform. I’ve had money stolen out of my account. I’ve done bonuses and had them not pay me out. They are a customer service company with no customer service or contractor service for that matter. Handys business model is excellent in how they acquire and provide jobs. But when it comes to getting the job done and paying you they will give you the run around on virtually anything? Customer not home? I’ve been charged. I completed a job and they marked it as a customer no show (which I did not) and decided not to pay out a bonus for a job I actually did. They don’t communicate why you’re getting charged until after the money’s been docked and won’t talk to you about it. When you email customer service your ticket isn’t handled by a specific person, it’s added to a queue and responded to in the order that the people get it. It’s not the same people so issues don’t get escalated to higher ups. You get automated messages and a new person responds to each of your replies with the exact same messages. Long story short, if you love yourself and genuinely want to make money without the stress of a dictatorial overlord stay far away from this horrid app chances are you may end up paying more than you make and if you’re lucky you might even break even 🥴

Handy does not care about its Pros. First and foremost: there is no live support for Handy Pros. It is the most frustrating thing in the world. Next, Handy does not care about its pros. The customer is always right, and when stuff happens to us we aren’t compensated. Read the fine print, if a customer doesn’t show up it’s “full pay UP TO THREE HOURS” so for a five out job you’d only be paid three hours if they don’t show up. You have no idea how hard it is to work for Handy as a living when people can just not show up or cancel the night before and you are just left screwed with no income. On top of that, we can’t rate customers. Like the creepy old man today that was mad I wouldn’t sit and talk with him for two hours. Do better handy, because I’m sick of it. And get LIVE support.

Amazing company from pro and customer sides. This is an amazing way to get your self started in your own business. They provide you with all the connections you need to build a customer base and work as your customer support and resources department along the way to insured that you and your customers are protected good example of that is a job I just did where I was only able to complete about half of it due to the customer misrepresenting the paper work done and then not being present while to work is being done as they are required to be as soon as I reached out to support representative They looked into the SUV, beauty accounts and handled the issue for me immediately while still making sure that I was paid for the work that I had done. I will recommend this app to everybody I know.

Abhorrent labor practices. These people are basically scammers. They pay these “pros” $20 an hour as a 1099 employee and charge them fees for every minor thing. That means these people make 3x what they pro makes. A pro doesn’t show up because he has a family emergency, they charge him up to the cost of the job. Most pros incur fees and then it’s no longer feasible to do any more jobs because you won’t get paid. Not to mention no live customer service, but we’re expected to be live customer service for their customers for free. With gas prices at $5 it’s even worse. And on top of that they usually treat the customers pretty poorly. It’s not much different than an indentured servitude, except thank god this one is voluntary. And then on top of all the fees they charge their pros, they don’t refund customers so they make money hand over fist and produce few results. Another name change because that’s what scam companies do. Can’t wait to see these leeches for under.

WARNING!! They don’t care about you.. You will never hear the voice of an actual rep. Just a bunch of online chatting. Didn’t our parents teach us to communicate verbally. Apparently this company doesn’t believe so. I was left hanging by a rep while trying to explain what happened on a job where I was charged 50$ for a customer wanting to cancel. A customer cancelled and I was charged -50$, for a customer canceling a job. The CUSTOMER, CANCELLED. I(ME), incurred a fee. The rep on the online chat gave me a “I’m sorry but I have to attend another pro/worker”. After exchanging a few texts in chat via their best form of contact. I can’t sit here and write all of my experiences. It’s difficult enough giving this app so much of my time to get paid the bare minimum to begin with. Simply I’ll say, you can make money with this app, will you get ripped off from time to time? ABSOLUTELY YES. YOU MOST DEFINITELY WILL.

Scam. This company is a scam. Did a job for them and they never paid me. Thought they were going to send a check because they didn’t ask for my bank account. I emailed them because there is no number to call and they said I needed to add a bank account. After they got my bank info , they bombarded me with emails and it added a bunch of jobs for the same day and the same time 30 miles away from each other and don’t let you know and charge you 50 bucks for not showing up for each one. Now you owe them money so you don’t get paid. There is no phone number to call to talk to anyone or answer any questions. They called me saying were involved In a Nest thermostat program. I wish I never got involved with them. They claim to be affiliated with Angie list and Home advisor. I’m not sure if that is how their companies work also. Now I am afraid they are going to try to take money out of my bank account. I don’t know who these people are. BEWARE

Big Scam and does not care for workers. Handy is a Scam! If a Customer No Show is reported the customer can still rate and lower youre rating so if you catch it then contact them through email ASAP and fight the bad rating and hope they remove it. I had 5 Stars rating and had gotten sick so to be safe I canceled the jobs I had scheduled until I get tested, I emailed them regarding this and they STILL terminated my account. It’s a money scam. You think you’re making money until they make up a false allegation without telling you then take the money you’ve made and charged a penalty fee on top of it. There’s no way to contact them unless it’s through email and all the replies are robo replies so you only get certain automated replies back. Perfect example of that is watch now the developer reply back to this review with a automated reply and tell me to contact them through email, which is pointless because they’re just gonna reply back to the email with an automated reply and nothing will be resolved.

Do at your own risk. First off their customer service team is horrible and there is no phone number to call if you have an issue they are rude and will end your chats if you try to get to the bottom of your situation. Second they charge you ridiculous 125 fee if you went to the customers home and the job can’t be can’t be completed and take what you would have made for that job. They don’t compensate out pros for anything that the customer if anything we are penalized harder. Lastly their pay structure is very weird they have a 60/40 or 70/30 split with the pros where the also they have dropped the price of how much pros make by 10-15% just this year alone. With the global economy increasing this is not a direct reflection of core company values to support employees It may be a direct reflection of their company value losing over 70% of its stock market value. All in all horrible company.

THEY DIDIN’T PAY ME FOR THE JOB! SCAM!. The first thing I want to say is that they take 70% of each task and do not provide any technical support for this. this 70% is absolutely not justified! I was working by three month with this app. And they didn't pay me for the job I spent 7 hours on. I took a task that must be completed with the participation of THREE people. They wrote to me that I would have to work with only one. but when I arrived, there was NO ONE THERE, and I began to work ALONE and asked support about add more time to my task cause I will work alone (as they say they will make a decision on adding time within 48 hours). I spent 7 hours when the task was only 5, and did not have time to finish the work. I asked my customer to write so that they could send help (another person who will help me). but instead, they simply CANCELED my task and DID NOT SEND ME ANY MONEY to my account. And now Technical Support simply DOES NOT ANSWER me for the second request. I've been waiting for several days now but they just don't answer me.

Horrible wish I knew how to report. This review is just according to how everyone else is commenting. The customer service is terrible and the policies are down right unfair, also some reps assist you and look at the notes you left behind and go based off of that! I had this one customer that wanted an appliance looked at, keyword looked at first! I inspected appliance and informed the customer which part was needed and where to order! I was even nice enough to tell them that I would return to install all they had to do is give me a call! Well a couple a days later I get a charge of 220 one for the job and the other for the bonus return. This customer actually lied and stated that I never returned and complete the job! That was true but I also never got a call from them to replace the part. I think this customer just used my expertise and installed the part themselves, also called and lied stating that I didn’t replace the part so they can get a full refund on it. Bogus app don’t use it

Horrible. This company does not care for their workers. I went to a job that was labeled organizing garage. When I showed up it was a junk hauling job, not an organizing job. They had things that need 4 ppl to carry out and put in a dumpster. I have a truck and couldn't take their junk. I offered to stay and clean up and organize as that's what the job was supposed to be. They said no we will cancel the service. I spent an hour out of my day driving 50 miles for this job that got canceled after I was there and already started. For canceling after I started I should have gotten the full amount according to handys agreement. But I got 15 dollars for my time and gas. I lost money. Also there is no way to call this company they only respond to emails, also unprofessional. I was impressed with the app at first but once I'm losing money working the jobs for someone else's fault for not describing the right job it took a turn for the worse. It's Covid and I got this app to make money for the holidays not lose it. Thanks Handy for making my holidays more stressful.

A lot of headache and no real support. They will side with a client before getting your feedback on how well it did or did not go. They will send you into homes with bedbugs. Not compensate you. They will not cover any financial loss associated to said exposure. Or take you off cleanings to keep the next scheduled client from exposure. They will not pay you even when you’ve messaged the client all morning and go to the clients booked home to get no answer. And then accuse you of not going and having actually cancelled the job yourself. They will auto rebook older clients , whom are targeted , as well. They will charge you instant payment fees for the collecting of your own SUBCONTRACTED PAYMENTS. They will speak to you as if your are inherently trying to scam and get things by them and charge a SUBCONTRACTOR fees associated with executing the work and enforce their company expectation and rules but will not stand by you , EVER. They will change your payouts without telling you. Take screenshots of everything you do on this app from the moment you book until until the moment you close the job out. They do not want to pay you. For anything and will do thing to justify working you and exploiting your resources…car, car insurance , your time, money spent on supplies , gas, tune up’s , took expenses , none of it. So to network you may take the dive. Protect your end. They will remove jobs from your schedule and then charge you no show fees. User beware.

Thieves, liars and unlicensed “contractors”. It’s crazy how quick Handy is to stealing Pro pay even when they’re submitting picture and video proof they were on-site but I guess that’s how they make their profits, every single contractor I work with has sadly the same stories. Sometimes they reschedule a job and tell you nothing, you just notice it’s gone from your schedule when you’re already checked in, and you get told lies so they can steal your cancellation pay. Crazy. I’ve never had a more rude, unwilling to help, and just over all useless customer service and job support, when we’re the ones out here doing the real work, my law team has received no answer from arbitration requests, customers always claim they have No idea how to review a pro and Handy would never be honest enough to say “4star reviews will assure we fire that contractor, we’re a terrible company that relies on Only 5 star reviews MOST of our customers have NO IDEA how to leave”.

Waste of time.. I started off with this app with high hopes…. Well long story short they don’t have the work flow needed to make any kind of legitimate money. Aside from the amount of work, another reason why you can’t ever make anything is because any chance they have they will fee employees and take even the small amount of money you made off the jobs for the week and tell you that essentially you didn’t complete the work. Don’t go to a job where cell service may be bad also. I did a whole job for free because I incurred a “late fee” which was WAY above what a traditional late fee would be due to the fact I couldn’t log onto the app without service (I was on time ) so I went to dispute the charge and now have been told the client claimed no work was completed so I’m the one out the time and money for the day. Not that it matters to a team of people taking 80% cuts of profit from the trades people they employ.

Worst platform ever. I did the job and instead of paying me $156 they charged me $50, because allegedly I missed a job. But I did the job and have all the proofs. Yet customer marked me as no show so I did the job and the charged me! I paid for the part and for gas and they charged me!!! I did the job and lost $145 of my expenses for this job! They basically engaged in slavery and even worse, they make you pay for doing the job! I would give negative 5 stars if I could. That said they need confirmation from the customer that job was done and they can’t even call her! They only writing emails that probably just go to spam folders. And you can’t speak with a person. They only text with you through email or app chat. They don’t have supervisors or managers and they don’t give an f. You are going down, I will sue you for slavery and my health problems that I have because of you. See you in court

Run from this job. I started handy for a part time job and ended up not getting paid for my service and you don’t ever talk to anyone they just only email you on their time and remove bookings from your schedule after driving there and showing up no matter how far you drive. Handy is a joke and full of cons who just pay you 1/3 what they are charging the customer and you have to have all your own supplies and required to purchase stuff on the customers behalf and hope they pay you back for the money spent. I would run from this app and should be shut down for false Advertisement and ripping there employees off with fees that are automatically added and deducted from your pay if you even get paid.

Handy pro app review. This app has supported me in getting jobs when I couldn’t round them up myself. Pro support isn’t as great as I would like due to they charge fees for everything. I have had customers that no showed and did not communicate; meaning no response to calls or texts or locked gates. I have been charged the full amount I was paid due to leaving early when a customer never responded. I am charged a fee even during covid for canceling in too short of notice even though handy highly recommended to cancel if I wasn’t feeling well. You are paid for the time customer and handy bid and don’t get the extra pay unless customer calls it in. And like today customer had very little room to work in and I spent time moving furniture around. So it’s defined got its pros and cons. Overall I say it’s worth it. Just be aware at all times of what is going on.

Overall bad. App is okay when it works. However, it’s a horrible app/company overall. I have a 4.8/5 star rating out of 168 completed jobs on the app for reference. Job descriptions are written mainly by people who don’t speak English, so words/sentences/addresses sometimes don’t make sense or lacks much needed information. Whenever you dispute a fee or have a complaint, customer support responds with a prewritten email usually telling you their policies and a poor excuse to why they did what they did. A lot of the times they don’t even address your problem! I have many emails of them apologizing admitting their mistake. Which they do pretty often. You have to be persistent (take pictures of each job/messages/map location/EVERYTHING, even if you don’t have problems, you might later on... it helps when you present evidence to them) otherwise they will not give you a second thought. This is what irritates me the most. The unprofessional, untrained customer support. They take about 30-50% of what the customer is paying initially depending on the job. I understand they need to make money but 50%? By god! Having said all that, I still choose to accept and complete jobs because it’s a good way to meet clients. Get a business card and offer your services directly after each job. Great app concept, poorly run company.

Very pushy. They wanted me to say yes, that I would sign onto this without knowing any details of their company. The lady was very pushy and then when I told her I would like to take some time to research some information of this, she automatically said well I know I won’t get a call back, but she kept pushing me to tell me the prices and stuff that I had to say yes I was interested in the program and I was gonna go with the program. She was sure doing everything she could possibly do to push me to sign on. I’m not interested in a company that is gonna be so pushy and now that I’ve had time to take a look over the reviews. It sounds like it’s very common for your company. I don’t want company like that posting ads that doesn’t have very good feedback because it doesn’t make my company as well. And also puts words on my company and makes it look like I don’t care and I highly care about the company I run I’m not willing to let somebody destroy it with a few ads..

Ethics are not into consideration on this app. First of all I have had 110 task completed on this app for the past months. When I arrive to the job every other one of them states that I am the 2nd, 3rd or 4th person supposed to be doing he job. When materials need to be purchase is on Regular for Pro NOT to be paid back the money He spent - simply because neither pro can request it or client to add as payment method. People are charged if not double on what Pro gets paid- clients have expectations of having a Contractor doing just as they will for a hundred dollars- when job must be a thousand. Customer service for the Pro’s doesn’t exist- there is question you select on the app and then you receive return mail that you can not reply. When the Handy team find themselves tight in situation- they log you out, they delete any evidence from the job , take 50 fee and that’s about it. There is never clear understanding what actually is happening and what have to happen.

It’s ok. I really like the idea of being able to pick up our jobs that are convenient for my schedule. Couple things that one should be aware of when they’re using the service. Two out of three times customers expected one thing and when I showed up I was under the impression of something else. Fortunately customers are great to work with and so far have been very kind and accommodating. As a pro don’t expect to get excellent service if you need help or if you need to contact handy. I had a job that needed more time and I wanted to complete the job for the customer butNeither one of us were able to get a hold of somebody to make that work. Another downside is you can’t send out questions to customers before you accept the booking.
