Definitely the future. Great app that’s easy to use and gives good entry to the new world of finance.

Must use external exchange. Valora team was responsive to every ticket I opened and very helpful. The app is very easy to use, the best crypto app yet. There are a few shortcomings I think should be addressed but they are not critical: 1. More decimals should be added, or at least an indication of more decimals 2. Sometimes when you buy/sell CGLD the market price shifts but there isn't really explanation for people new to exchanges/markets. It would be nice to see both the current selling and buying price, sometimes the price jumps considerably! The main critical issue I have with this app/organization is that the only vendor available for me here in the USA for purchasing CUSD in the app doesn't accept any of the cards I have: - 2x MasterCard debit cards - 2x VISA debit cards - 4x VISA credit cards - 4x MasterCard credit cards - 2x American Express cards - 2x Discover cards - 1x VISA gift card - 1x MasterCard gift card They only accept card, so I couldn't try wire transfer, bank, PayPal, ApplePay, etc. After reaching out to the vendor multiple times I gave up and instead purchased CGLD with Coinbase Pro and sent it to my Valora app over from Coinbase Pro. Because of the difficulty of getting CGLD, I have convinced zero people to try the app although one has purchased CGLD on another platform. In contrast, in my social circle, I have convinced over 10 Tesla sales from people completely disinterested in electric vehicles before I took them for a test drive.

Solid alternative to Venmo and money gram. It’s a solid app so far. I’m sure it will be great for those with family in different countries.

Buggy and annoying. A friend sent me some celo dollars before had the app. Went through the lengthy process to setup and verify my account and now my balance is still zero, despite my friend sending me celo in the first place. It’s out of his account but not in mine. Seems like a scam

Complete Failure (Almost Perfect). Most of my experience was very good, until I got to the point of trying to send money. Maybe the exchange rate changed, or maybe there’s a fee for sending and it didn’t say that, but it said I didn’t have enough to send the very number that it showed me that I had available to send. The next failure was that it asked me to send a message with my CUSD. It became very unclear what should happen next, the screen changed by itself, and now I have no idea where things stand. Utter UX failure!

Only the start to something great!. Valora and Celo as a whole has a very promising future. This App is very clean and easy to use. The only thing I could ask for is direct Dapp integration from within the wallet.

This will be a game changer!. It's amazing that you can use this app to send money anywhere in the world! It's so easy to send right to somebody's phone number. It's a little rough around the edges right now. But as they get more adoption I can see this being the next big thing

Great UX!. Crypto wallets can be hit or miss, this one is definitely a hit. Plus, I have been having a great time accumulating rewards just for a balance in my wallet!

Great wallet. I use this for getting my Celo and using this to transact with the blockchain. I’ve also made purchases with this for my helium hotspot. This is very awesome app, that I can get use to the Celo price action for my trading. Also the rewards are pretty good, however I do miss the monthly rewards based off the amount of cUSD you hold, I think they stopped that reward payout. Either way, I like it and would recommend to others.

They erased my review...watch out. I'm posting this review again as they erased my review. That sent huge red flags be careful don't put your money in this app!! Finally they responded to my request after 48 hrs wait and did not help me recover my money, lost $98 USD! _______ORIGINAL REVIEW______ I sent cUSD by mistake to a CELO (CB) wallet (which happens to be mine). I missed the step where you must convert the cUSD to CELO. Since then, I've sent several messages to support, I opened the chat and after more than 12 hours still no response. It's been 24 hours since the transfer which appears to be stuck in the network going nowhere. I contacted (CB) support, through reddit and through (CB) chat and the one from the chat said he could see my transaction hash but could not access it because it was stuck on the CELO network. He said he would be able to do something if it was on the ERC-20 network. I'm not sure I understand what that means but I'm so upset about this that I took all my CELO assets and sent them to (CB)... (CB) team is always on point and ready to help. Sad, because I had gotten used to the Valora rewards, but this is a significant loss for me $98 American dollars, no amount of reward can justify a big loss like that. I do NOT recommend Valora, use (CB) instead.

Fast Cheap and in Control. This is the fastest most effective way to transfer value without losing money in transaction fees. Recommended

Useful Mobile Wallet. I’m new to crypto. I found the Valora wallet for Celo is the easiest wallet for someone with just a mobile phone. I can interact with all the dapps on Celo easily. The support team is also friendly.

International exchange, super fast!!. I’ve loved using Valora to easily send funds abroad & teach them to take advantage of the 50% interest rate. Usually arrives within seconds, the team has been amazing, and seriously have loved using this every week.

Finally got cUSD and now enjoying rewards. I had the app for while but was not able to use it since cUSD can’t be bought in USA. I stumble on article that you can actually exchange Celo Gold for cUSD in the app. Purchased CGLD on Coinbase and transfer them in the app. The transfer fee are almost nothing and compare to ETH it is free:). Transaction in app are almost instant and I did not have any negative experience or crash with the app. The platform is still being created and evolving, but what I experienced so far this will be the ways to transfer payments without borders. There is also another project that area coming about like stellar, but the ease to use intuitive UI have me use Celo now and most likely in the future.

Great app and super cheap to send money. Honestly, the app feels a lot like Venmo but you’ve gotta assume there so much going on under the hood. The fact you can send cash anywhere in the world for a fraction of a penny is astounding and can help a significant number of people. There are a few rough edges: - confusing experience for getting your number verified. They did do a good job of explaining why it happens though. - was a bit strange that you can’t purchase celo dollars in app. Need to send celo gold to the right address and then convert. - the use of “account number” is inconsistent with most crypto wallets. I feels weird to send from a wallet address to an account number. My assumption is most people are already anxious when sending digital currency around the internet. Cross border payments is a massive problem facing some of the most under represented communities in the world. I really hope this project succeeds because they seem to be driven by purpose over profits. Hope y’all do great things 🙏

Misleading little point to the app. I decided to download when prompted through Coinbase to learn about Celo and gain the rewards. However, it is misleading. It says add 10 cUSD by a certain date however, when I try it says their providers do not allow less than 20 cUSD to be added, which means I cannot gain the rewards. I am also not sure I see the point to the app.

This app works great!. Bought Celo on Coinbase in the U.S. then transferred to Valora, sold some for Celo Dollars to get $$ in account and confirmed no problem. Those rating this app lower should try this approach.

Hmmm! Clunky.... I just installed the app to give it a try without any invitation. In order to confirm my phone number to receive funds, its asking for 3 x 0.07 cUSD= 0.21cUSD! While my wallet was just created and has zero balance. How could I even get this to work?😐 I have celo in my other wallet but there is no option in this app to deposit them without a confirmed phone number. Loop hole! And the only way to confirm is using moonpay to buy celo!🤔 Not a smart start for the app. With a lot of alternative wallets plus stable coins out there this is not any better yet!

Easy to use mobile crypto wallet. A friend introduced me to the Valora wallet for Celo. I love the focus of the project and the opportunity to earn money from my Celo.

Better than a bank!. Being able to hold my cash and receive crypto is an amazing feature! Ahead of the game for sure. Only negative experience I’ve had is they don’t offer a dark mode... I check my apps in the am before getting ready for work, wife still sleeping, dark mode is a must for any finance app.

Complete trash. Nice fluff piece about this app being the most amazing decentralized payment app in existence. You literally cannot receive the money in any other currency than their own or a gift card. What are you expecting? For people to sell the token on an exchange so they have a tax burden all for using a worthless payment app? Absolutely horrible and confusing. I don’t know what market they were aiming for. Boomers that don’t understand how to send to a crypto address or people that can pay rent with a gift card?

Not sure the purpose of the app.. I was under the impression that this app will aid in remittances, but when trying to cash out I was only offered the ability to buy gift cards or send to a crypto wallet. I don’t see how this is any improvement from just sending crypto directly. That’s the only complaint. If it allowed add cash/withdrawal to a debit card/bank account, this would be 5 stars. The interface is great and I have family all over the world and this would be amazing if I could send cash via the app for just a percentage of celo. On the right track, would happily change to 5 stars when you can withdrawal cash.

Great customer service. All I can say is that I don’t have a lot of experience with crypto currency’s but I have been learning. I had made a mistake transferring money between Coinbase and my Valora wallet. Coinbase refused to even acknowledge my issue where Valora walked me through step by step how to correct the issue. They told me from the get go that there were know promises with the fix but that others had some success with it. So not only did they walk me through it but I was also able to retrieve the money that I had lost thanks to the customer service team. Coinbase customer service, on the other hand, avoided even talking to me. Bottom line is that I feel like the team here actually cares and wants to help and see everyone succeed and that’s why I’m writing this review because I hope they continue to grow and improve as well. Thank you Valora customer service!

Where money goes to die. Download this app. and learned that you can only add money to your Valora account but you cannot withdraw your money. Once it’s in their system it’s trapped forever. However, you can buy gift cards using the money you deposit in your Valora account. However the minimum dollar amount for an individual gift card is $10. I’m sure there is some kind of transaction fee too so keep that in mind. All in all, this app and crypto is a money filter for the developers. Please consider avoiding it. If you do like this app then I have some Stanley Nickels for sale. In all seriousness, please don’t actually invest in Cello or cUSD; there’s no way this is going to take off.

Getting better with time. Excellent app, as time progresses this app will be a major player in the crypto space.

Venmo without the shady stuff. Pretty easy to send money around. It’s still kinda hard to get my hands on cUSD but I’m hopeful it will get easier. Best part? They aren’t collecting and selling your financial data like all the other “free” apps!

Straight forward easy to use. I’m earning consistent yield which is paid to my account every week without fail. Every single week I get paid even when I don’t open the app or do anything at all. Buy the right crypto in the app through their Ramp partnership

Can’t do anything!. Swap is constantly failing or unavailable. Wallet has trouble connecting to any swap and will not perform any transactions. Sent multiple contacts to support and nothing gets fixed. If you love celo than find a better wallet than this one. Too many problems.

Cant send out. Money trapped. They force you to add contacts to create a network. Its impossible to send to an exchange like coinbase. I tried for 45 mins. This is for teens period. Waste of time. Cant even really use the wallet unless you add your friends contacts and invite them its a closed loop marketing gimmick for teens. Period. Its s closed banking system to force you to use celo. Im deleting it as soon as i finish this review. You can keep the 2 dollars

3 text message verification is annoying. To onboard your cell phone with this app, you have to verify three text message codes. I received the codes out of order and had to reset the process. I don’t think three text messages are significantly safer than one text message. Every other app I’ve used only requires one text message. If one text can be man in the middled, then so can three. I don’t think the additional friction outweighs the additional security here.

Good app. It’s a little complicated at first but once you play with it and read everything it’s very easy to operate I like this app it’s efficient

Wish it was smoother, or more helpful support. I love the idea of the app, but it just does not accomplish sending money to others as advertised. I sent celo dollars to family in Mexico, but we can't figure out how they can cashout/withdraw the funds. I looked all over the support page, and it's still very unclear how they can cash out.

Great App. One of the most user friendly apps Ive used in crypto. But beware, there are still easy mistake that can cost you lots of money. The biggest mistake, pay attention to where you send cUSD or CELO. Make sure the one youre sending compatible with the receiving wallet. For instance you can only send CELO to this wallet from Coinbase. You can only send CELO to coinbase. Coinbase also does not accept cUSD. VALORA does not accept ETH. Etc, etc. ALWAYS double check the token and the wallet compatibility.

Love it and great team plus customer service (Lisa). Totally in love with this wallet and dev and customer service are very responsive to any question or ticket. Thank you for free Celo;)

Great Experience for this Crypto Newbie. I’m very new to crypto and don’t really understand most of it. The simplest part of my learning experience so far has been downloading and using Valora. It was *so easy* to send a gift card to each of my nieces and nephews as a way to get them to ‘dip a toe’ into this new technology. Kudos to the developers. Best advice so far: keep the account key in a vault

Overall good! Small learning curve. I learned about Valora from Coinbase. Tried it out and it works pretty good! I was a little confused at first about Celo vs Celo dollars but I contacted support and they got right back to me. Very helpful.

Decent app. One of the better mobile apps for crypto/money exchanges. User-friendly UI, great security features, and quick and easy ways to send money internationally without breaking the bank. Feels good to get in on it this early.

Excited to see where things go. The infrastructure in the app is great. Rewards for having various balances, escrow for sending/receiving (which could be improved by eventually releasing funds if they aren’t ever accepted by the recipient) but a lot of really cool features here already in place, the app functions smoothly and does what it needs to. Sky is the limit for these guys

Excellent service, great design. The app works great, clean and intuitive design. Customer service is much better than you would expect (immediate personal contact and follow up). Only problem is lack of adoption and use options. This is still early in crypto adoption, but sending and receiving payments that are hard to move into fiat currency are a real handicap.

Not bad. Definitely a keeper!. Many of these apps I download and end up removing right away. Wanted to try it since interested in the coin and how these transfers would work. Nice option to buy vouchers/cards and products (in voucher from what I saw) from all major companies. Added the crypto and converts easy enough if you dealt with wallets etc before. Was only my 3rd time doing a transfer and it’s as easy as copypaste. Not all but many diff currencies to transfer to. Will update once I actually use it.

Getting Better and Better. I’m enjoying this app, the dashboard got a new easier look, the rewards are always on time and they are offering more ways to maximize returns, can’t wait for more good things coming so I can take advantage.

App doesn’t work, customer service is no help. I have waited 3 weeks for customer service to get back to me after I notified them that my transactions would not process. The app is completely inoperable and not user friendly. Beware of the other reviews saying the app works swimmingly.

Makes it easy for people like me to understand and use crypto. App is more elegantly designed than any apple app I’ve ever used but you can use it like a global Venmo. Makes crypto easy to understand and use for someone like me. I unfortunately can’t put money directly in the app in my region (support helped me understand how to use a crypto exchange) but once the money is there it really is as easy as sending a text! Can’t wait for more ways to get money in and out of the app within my region.

Great idea but that’s about it. Deleted the app and now can’t restore an account because I was never given the “key phrase” that I was supposed to write down apparently. I really don’t see how this app can be used by non-tech / crypto people and doubt it will hit mainstream with all these key phrases, 3 confirmation messages, etc. Great idea but way too complicated for non-crypto users.

Valora. The people looking after the wallet are awesome .. some of the dapps don’t make a lot of sense because they don’t really transact with the Valora wallet however a few work really well . As far as a way to send cash ? Literally the lowest fee crypto I have ever used and fast .. sent a buddy of mine 10$ to test the speed and it was there within 3 seconds . Sends as a stable token. Anyone that has a smart phone can use this . Update .. Valora kicked it into high gear as of July 14 2024… the users complained and Valora team heard .. then answered back with so much more then was asked for .. good job guys ! Update been using this wallet for a year now and it is still awsome .. there several off roads back to cash .. gift cards through the dapp side , back to bank if it accepts celo crypto or through credit card ..

Don't Use This App. Valora, cGLD and Celo Dollars are complicated, don't function as advertised and will just frustrate you. This entire convoluted system is poorly executed, the app has a bad layout and needs to be reworked due to the poor attention to detail (I couldn't even make a withdrawal in a section that clearly states I can make a withdrawal). There are still fees and minimum transaction amounts. There are other cryptocurrencies which are much better for transactions (XLM and ALGO come to mind). Don't waste your time or money on this project. They rely heavily on spamming your contacts and forcing them to use their app as well as loading the app with your money. Anyone shilling for this project is only doing so because they have a financial stake, not because it is a good solution to any problem.

Passive income. Great way to make passive income. Note they don’t give you Celo in lump sum. Its disturbed at their choose times equaling x reward at the end of month.

Garbage. Worst ux experience in a while. Unable to verify my account. Unable to reset the app before I removed it. The experience was so upsetting and outdated. I instantly regret installing the app and sharing my phone number. I wish 0 stars was an option.

Ease of use problems. The phone confirmation was a bear to get through. The app wouldn’t accept the third confirmation. Once on the app it is extremely difficult to get Celo Dollars. To get a system that is this complicated to gain wide spread adoption is a long shot. It sounds great in the videos made for the product, but it misses the Mark in real use cases. I have been trying to send a friend money just to see how it works and can’t even get there...

Dumb AF. It’s just so stupid. I won’t use an app that has such a stupid confirmation process. Such a stupid idea when there are other apps that do the same thing better.

Be very careful. I'm an advance computer guy, and I know crypto is a serious thing, is not just a file, it's a tal money, I gave cero balance in my account but, I gave my keys and my PIN locked up in an offline notebook. Guess what, valora says that I have a wrong 6 digit pin. And I am licked up outside, Thanks Gus U have nothing in there. but be careful, it's your money.

Locked out of account. After updating the app, I am prompted with a screen saying there has been an error and asking me to set up my account again. It is asking for a pin (which I had not made). Have I lost my account? I did not have much $$ on the app. I am now stuck on a screen asking for a pin that I do not have. Can I return back to the previous version?

Great concept but needs UX help. Hi there, I own some of the cryptocurrency that this app runs on , so I used it as a part of my due diligence and also to see if it could really replace other competitors (rhymes with KayTal) What a disappointment. The market cap of this project is hundred of millions of dollars and the feel of this app is like a someone bootstrapped it with $15k. So, let me make a recommendation that you use some of those millions to hire the best UX/UI people in the world to improve this. For instance, when you go to deposit funds you are told to choose between two third party apps. You aren’t given ANY explanation as to how they’re different. Also, as many people have said here, if you have an adddress in the USA, on at least one of these third party apps, they simply say it’s not supported and then it’s impossible to use a different bank account (essentially you get blocked). This is hyper confusing to the user because you’re converting into cUSD. At a minimum there should be an explanation ob the screen prior to entering info that you cannot use accounts based in the USA for that payment provider. During the whole process, I was wishing I could load less than $20 because you get the feeling you don’t not understand what’s going to happen with your money. So this company needs to figure out how to hide a lot of these “choices” because it’s intimidating for folks to use. It’s a wonderful concept, but this will fail if they do not make UX/UI a priority. It makes me upset that the major investors in this project like Coinbase and Andreesen Horowitz have not demanded improved usability. If this project fails, it will have a “chilling effect” and other orgs that want to do good with blockchain will have second thoughts. If you want people in developing nations to use this and adapt like wildfire, you have to reduce number of steps to load money and you have to make it so it doesn’t require any serious thought and decision making. Using this app was like taking a crash course in how blockchain works...and that’s a bad thing because people should just be able to trust it works without having to understand something extremely complicated.

cUSD is different than coinbase. I tried to transfer 500 cUSD from Valora to coinbase but according to coinbase you have a different cUSD???

V1. I’m a veteran crypto user and was very excited to hear mobile numbers would be used for transfers, but the app fails miserably every step of the way on UX. With Coinbase and top VC’s behind this, I see no excuse for this janky roll out, but hope they can figure it out.

Good app. This app is good but they need more platforms to allow exchange of this coin.
