Anne. I have nothing but positive things to say about Varo. I absolutely love this bank!! They are there for the people who literally live from paycheck to paycheck and cover for me if the need be. Every other bank I had stole so much of my money from me!! It actually sickens me to calculate the expenses that they sucked from me in overdrafts and even extra overdraft fees on top of the $35 every single time I needed them to be there for as a valued customer who banked with them for years. Not once in 10 years did they help me. The worst part is I now know how badly they treated me by holding my money for weeks at a time holding back my government benefits every month for 10 years. It’s unethical and wrong to treat anyone that way charge me an overdraft fee when you have had my money when I needed it most and charged me over and over and over the figure comes up to several thousand dollars when I actually saw what they had so unfairly done to me by switching to Varo holy cow praise Jesus they have treated me more than fair and I will always give VARO praise. Thank goodness you showed me what the old bank had been doing to me I am so glad I switched to Varo they are the best bank and their customer service over the phone is outstanding. Like I said in the beginning I have nothing but praise to say about this bank Varo is the best bank I ever had!!!! VARO ROCkS

Worst online bank…Stay away. Varo is an excellent bank if you never have an issue, but if you do even if it’s a serious problem which I have had. They have the worst customer service, they never stick to their own policies. I was told 3 days ago after numerous phone calls and emails over the past 45 days that the only people in all of Varo’s banking staff that the only people that can refund a fraudulent charge is the dispute team. I have never had an overdraft, nor filed a dispute before. But I have 2 fraudulent charges that has left our family very tight on eating much less paying bills that are stacking up because $400 is a lot of money to a family of 5. I followed everything Varo said to do in case of fraudulent charges, just to be ignored, lied too every time I call, and been hung up on. The help section on this issue has been going on since 2018 and they acknowledged the problem and it’s the same for Everyone. 2 months or more before they refund money on fraudulent charges IF you get reimbursed at all. I have never wasted my time to write something like this on s business because I know the struggle it is to run one but this has been criminal. Varo should not be in the financial industry. Crooks don’t think about it and run to another bank!

Started off good. This bank started off great- I was getting my direct deposits a day earlier m in the evening and I also like how you can change your pin on the app whenever and not to mention, you can also turn on notifications for any and all transactions with your bank account/debit card. Here’s the bad: there’s been numerous times where I’ve made instant Deposit transfers from cash app and Venmo and they took a day to deposit into my account (they should’ve deposited instantly). When I called Varo about it, each and everytime they would say it was an error with the system and no eta on when it would be resolved. Today , for the third time…. My direct deposit did not deposit on the scheduled day (today) and their excuse was that they haven’t received direct deposits today due to an error in the system and that there would be no eta on when I’d get my direct deposit. Ok, then why is that my other bank accounts received my direct deposits?? (I have my DD split into 3 accounts) This isn’t ok at all seeing as some people have bills and if you’re direct deposit is “delayed” on your pay day and you have important bills to pay on that day, you’re basically screwed. Once my direct deposit posts I will be deleting my account.

Always has been extremely easy to use & works even better on me new device!. I love that the app has chat with customer service available to use if u don’t really feel like calling the 800 numbers like me lol especially when it’s a really simple issue like changing ur phone #, or a gene question Love the features that Varo Bank has to offer such as save your change and taking a percentage out of your direct deposit(s) & then automatically going into savings I do wish they had a feature where if u put something in savings to set an amount of time to not be able to have access to it and then also being able to edit it yourself if u needed it in case of an emergency or something but ya I have trouble saving my $ sometimes cuz then I know I have $ that I can just as easily transfer it to my regular checking account and then being broke till payday regardless lol In this day and age it’s hard to not live paycheck to paycheck no matter how much u make Thx Varo, I love my account!

Do not use this bank!. I opened an account in March with Varo for their interest rate to help grow my savings. Made a few initial depots and pretty much just left it like that. Then, a few weeks ago I was notified that my account had been closed. No reason, no notification beforehand that anything strange was going on. “We will email you in 2-3 business days,” was their only comment. Attempts to log in on the app and website were met with an alert that my account was locked. A week went by with no contact from them. Couldn’t get through via the automated customer support because my account number couldn’t be found. Finally, after being disconnected several times and spending actual hours on hold, a human told me that she was “elevating my case” and that someone would get back to me via email within 24 hours. Again, nothing. So far, it has been two weeks and I have yet to receive any communication from Varo. My account is closed, I have no access to the funds I had deposited, no way of contacting anyone who can actually help me, and I still don’t even know why any of this happened. Zero stars for communication and customer service. I just want my funds back so I can put this terrible bank behind me.

It's Pretty Cool. My bank currently closed after many years, so I was forced to find another provider. Varo is pretty close to my previous simple account, and they have all the features you could want in an account. I just wish a few extra items were tweaked in there. Such as transaction search by name. And the ability to earn interest on anything over $5k in savings. For some reason, my Varo account also does not work with a few service providers, such as Paypal (as a bank account - it only accepts the debit card number), Target RedCard (to make payments), Earnin app (to receive), and a few others. I find this all highly inconvenient, and its unclear why these connections don't work. I also don't appreciate the limits of deposit or the fact you make me write "check for deposit with varo bank only" but then refuse a check because the person who gave it to me cut it off too fast and the edges aren't 100% perfect.

Use to be great. I’ve been a member with varo for 2 years now, an they used to be great, I would have recommended Varo to anyone who was looking for a new bank, but recently they’ve been getting bad, I’ve deposited countless mobile check deposit, it’s the main way I put money into my account that I get from work, normally if I deposit the check before 6pm on a week day, they review the check accept it an release it the next day. For whatever reason last week when I deposited my work check like I usually do before 6, Varo reviews an accepts my check, but wouldn’t release my funds until a week later. After calling an being left on hold for 2 hours, nobody was able to give me a definitive reason or answer as to why the wait time was so long even though the check has already been accepted, and I’m an established member. Like the whole thing was very unprofessional, I’m very close to jus closing my account, the whole point of me getting this bank was for the efficiency, an convenience which doesn’t feel like I’m getting either.

Going on 3yrs. I’ve been using Varo since 2018, and it’s pretty cool. I’ve also banked with Chase, IBC, and MidFirst. A physical bank comes in handy if you’re living paycheck to paycheck and need that money on your card that day. Varos’ answer; if you have direct deposit then you can get paid early like with other popular apps. So that’s even better. And if you’re not in a rush you can just take a picture of the check and it’ll be in there the next day of the week. And you can deposit cash by green dot cards. But the customer service is better than any other bank I’ve had. And I’ve yet to run into any issues. They are also always ontop of the new. They were one of the first to get the cards you can just tap like Apple Pay etc. idk I’m easy going so this bank works out well for me. And the early pay is cool. If you need a bank I’d recommend this Forsure. If your bank is troublesome or anything switch over. If it’s not then only switch if you need to get paid earlier

I wish I could love it like I used to. I’ve been with varo for almost 3 years and loved every minute of the experience with the old Varo money!, every notification, the customer service, and of course timely direct deposits. Imagine my surprise when I crossed over to the “New & So called Improved” Varo bank :(.. I don’t get none of my notifications anymore for my transactions and that’s a huge thing for me. Not knowing when things come or go and then dealing with Calling customer service, being on hold for hours, just to be told “I’m not sure why your notifications are not working, but they should be”.. DUH!!, I know they should be but for whatever reason ever since crossing over to this new bank, everything has taken a downfall which made me start moving my money back to my chime account. Please get it together Varo so I could come back to you. I’m obviously not the only experiencing this because if you look at other reviews other users have the same problem!!, New customers may not have this issue, but people who’ve had to transfer over surely do!!! Please fix this

It’s was all LOVE, until the “merge “?!. I’ve been with varo for years now, and I have had nothing but the best experience I’ve ever had with a bank in my life, until the dark day… when VARO GREW UP FROM O BRCOME VARO BANK!! I’ve have been unknowingly drained financially, and when I realized it was happening I have been given anything but answers , and I’m still trying to figure out how I am missing almost $7k!!! Varo never sent me anything to tip me off my account had a hole in it, and I was just waiting for my new and old accounts to merge together at some point and I had such faith in varo I was giving them the benefit of the doubt on the time it seemed to be taking. Fast forward , and I am very disappointed and terrified that my life savings is gone and I’m not going to be able to get a dime of it back no matter how much I try.. my opinion is to bank with anywhere else, and don’t even consider varo until they get it all together and then pay close attention to the details so your life won’t be thrown off track with no one to help you out..

No longer the same. Varo USED to be an amazing bank. They USED be unique and miles above other mobile and even brick and mortar banks. They USED to be 100% run and serviced and based in the US. You could call in and get a normal person on the phone with barely a a 5 minute wait. ACH transfers from outside never took more than 36 hours. Now, you can't call you can't only chat. And the chat support uses Google translate and 90% of the time don't understand the issue you explain to them and simply copy/paste pre-written responses that correlate to a word in your message but not the actual issue. Ie - if you said "my bike isn't turning the wheels when I pedal." They would respond with instructions on how to remove training wheels. There's literally no personality in their customer service anymore whatsoever. I used to love varo and brought a lot of friends in without even utilizing the referral bonus just because they were so great and worth sharing. Note, we're waiting for our direct deposit changes to go into effect and my family will be closing all of our accounts and opening with another institution. Very disappointing.

Love this Bank. This bank has been nothing but great . I can’t stop praising them. They offered me to sign up for their Believe card. This claims it will help build your credit. Let me tell ypu this place delivers. It took about three months and a we bit of a credit score drop for applying . BANG my credit score went up 111 points . Could be more but I still have a few bills left to take care of that take a point off here and there . I recommend this bank and they deliver what they promise. Great customer service. Only bank that has ever retrieved my money from fraudulent charges . Only bank. Never had an issue with customer service even when I was melting down. Lost my card needed money for car gas etc and they got me to be able to access my account with a card o r time access and rushed me a new card and a new account very fast response. They called me down they siding hang up on me like other banks do . I wasn’t rude just melting down cuz I was stranded and they un stranded me very quickly . Thank you Varo for always being their for me . Kudos to each and everyone of you

This is honestly "VAR-Out" dudes!. Simply put, it's no hassle and a great main, or even back up, checking / checking + saving account based platform. Works as advertised and is as painless for me as they come. I have yet to have any issue with the service for over a year, I believe atleast a year if not two, and it's come in very handy on numerous occasions. Plus the straight forward "fee's (or lack thereof) and interest rates" are pretty nifty. Keep up the great service and I'll keep my eyes peeled for maybe some cool new features coming in future updates *hint *hint lol (but honestly, my only recommendation would be that we get to see you folks additing some cool new twists, bells, whistles and even small touches, even if for a test run. It's that extra special spice that keeps a service like Varo feeling just as fresh, and down to earth, as it was on day one.)

Technically disappointing. The bank was amazing for my first 5 years but the last year I have had many issues going on . First issue is I withdrawaled money from the atm and apparently they didn’t take it out of my account but almost 2 months later they decide to take it out of my account causing my account to go negative and they did nothing to correct this issue. Number two issue is my varo believe card went negative-117$ after I made my monthly payment pay off and I wasn’t able to use my account for over 7 months and they finally fixed the issue (on oct3rd22) it finally brought my account back to positive $ amount where they had finally fixed it. But is very disappointing they had not compensated me or done anything for me for being unable to use my credit card for over 7 months and that is very upsetting as my credit could have been raised tremendously..

Great banking, non-existent customer service. I’ve been a member of Varo for 2 years, and have to say that since it’s become Varo Bank, getting through to customer service seems impossible. With the old Varo, I had nothing but excellent customer service. They always answered the calls or emails. I’ve been trying to get through to customer service for a week now, but no luck 😑 I start calling each morning at 8:00 when they open for business. There’s no wait time mentioned then, but no one answers. I’ll wait for an hour, then am told by the automated system that the wait time is less than 15 minutes. Um, no. It’s more like an hour. I don’t stay on beyond that. When called after 10:00 am, the estimated wait time is “ greater than 60 minutes “. Ugh. I just want to find out some important ( to me) information about a direct deposit that seems to be floating around in my old account. Emails aren’t answered either. Their inefficiency has become my problem, and there’s no way to get in touch. I hope someone from Varo bank reads this and makes it right. I don’t like being disappointed in Varo!

1 star too many. I have been using Varo Bank for about a month now. The first two weeks went fine, no real issues. I got all of my funds transferred into their bank, and then they froze my account, stating that there was a problem with their system that should be cleared up by the end of the day. So I waited. 2 days later, I still have no access to my money. I call again, each time with over an hour hold time. I get another rep that tells me the same thing, almost word for word like it’s memorized. You’ll have your funds by the end of today, tomorrow at the latest. I wait a couple more days, spend an hour and a half on hold. Same memorized speech. I’m leaving for a work trip in an hour with a $20 bill and a prayer that they will fix it so I can get home. My mortgage is past due, bills are stacking up, and all my money is controlled by Varo. After explaining this to the rep, he just hung up on me. I’m completely at a loss here with no money, and now am seeking legal action to obtain my funds and close that account. Oh yeah, I can’t even close my account, did I mention that? This company has cleaned out all of my funds overnight, and I’ve had it. Stay away!

Everyone should read through their privacy policy. Update: If you notice the developers response says nothing addressing this horrendous privacy policy other than they aren’t “committing fraud.” If the developer wants to respond to me and tell us whether or not Varo shares your transaction data with 3rd parties than they are free too. Why block VPN access? Why does “Varo” own my transaction data? Why are they collecting every piece of data they can? “Varo owns your Transaction Data.” Varo collects your IP address, browser type, display settings, data about your mobile device, location, social media preferences advertising identifiers. This is all verbatim from their privacy policy. They even go as far as blocking the use of a VPN presumably to force you to give more accurate location data. Think about what this means, every time you swipe your card they use what you purchase to then provide advertisers that information. Banks are supposed to be trusted and private entities. In the 6 months I’ve used them they also have changed the interest rates and agreements multiple times. This is not a bank it’s a data farming scam.

Awesome app and very user friendly. I’ve been a Varo member for 5 years now and I can say I’ve gone back and forth between them and other online banks over time as well as traditional banks band credit unions and Varo has been very consistent and never let me down at any point. The app has had some much needed upgrades and is still fairly simple but I’d argue that is definitely a good thing. It is very user friendly and the features you get with Varo are MUCH more convenient imo than other online banks such as chime. The main reason being that Varo has Zelle as a transfer option which is huge because I also use traditional banks which rely on Zelle as well so it makes it very convenient at least for me. But overall great experience and would recommend to any one that is looking for an online banking experience.

Pitiful excuse for a bank and their customer no-service is horrible. The mobile deposit feature is pretty useless. I’ve deposited several checks over time, most of my deposits are direct though, and it’s Willy nilly as to whether or not they feel like approving them. I have a check made out to my middle name, rather than first, and they will not accept the check due to that one thing. Oddly enough they’ve accepted a check made out the same way and deposited it into my account earlier this year. I call customer no-service and am on hold for an hour then speak to someone who basically told me there’s nothing I can do but send an endorsement override email so you can take the check to another place and cash it then deposit the cash. Never could tell me why one check was approved and this one is denied nor could they put me on the phone with anyone who could explain. After several minutes on the phone and many emails I’m trying to find a reputable bank to cash my check with the Varo bank name smeared all over the back of it,and me not have to pay to cash it and then pay to deposit it into this account. If it weren’t for my paycheck being direct deposited next week I’d close my account today. Real sad excuse for a bank. Stay far away.

Fraud issue time. Everything has been smooth sailing no issues until I had to report my account for fraud I had to freeze my account so now I have no access to it until fraud department contacts me and I’m being told it can take 2-3 days my opinion fraud issue should be taken care ASAP and you talk to someone the same day to start a report most banks you do talk to someone immediately but this bank is making me wait . I have field a police report and still haven’t filed a report with the bank except freezing my account to stop anymore money coming out so no access to money at all and they don’t seem concerned when this is your main account and have a family to provide for they expect you to wait for them for god knows how long.. bills don’t freeze nor do day to day expenses. I just think these issues should be handled right away and not have to wait days for a phone call . I am not the suspect I am the victim that someone stole a large amount of money from my account it wasn’t just a little .

Bad choice. I opened an account with Varo, they issued me a virtual debit card which was amazing. Unfortunately when I activated the physical card when I arrived the virtual card was canceled. Having a curious, very helpful 3 1/2 year old daughter who was helping clean up around the house happened to throw away dads wallet and buy the time we found out it was long gone. I reported the card lost and they canceled that card. I have absolutely no access to my money other than to link a card and transfer money. I did in fact do that and was told it takes 3-5 days for the transfer, it’s now day 9 of waiting for my transfer and some bills are now behind. I talked with Varo support and was told they could not issue another virtual debt card because not everyone is eligible, I told them that I was in fact issued one when I opened my account, why can’t that one be reopened or i issued another one, they are unwilling to issue or help me, I’m stuck with no money until the new card arrives. I reported the card lost on 11/20 and the card will not arrive until 12/6 that is very unfortunate for me and my family. All my checks are direct deposited so there is no access until the card arrives. They should partner with a sister bank and actual physical bank where someone in a similar situation can go and withdraw their funds.

🤦🏽‍♀️. It doesn’t make sense that you have to make 1,000 dollars within 30 days in order to use the advance feature which lets you borrow money until pay day but if I was making 1,000 a week or could have it within 30 days I wouldn’t be borrowing money from you all that really makes the feature pointless to those who really need it it doesn’t make sense nor does it seem fair especially to a loyal customer who’s been with you all for a while and never let my account go into the negative until I recently was told I had to make 1,000 within 30 days to even be qualified for an advance. I really thought about just closing my account because of that simple inconvenience being that it was the only reason I had started with Varo and because I could save more with having a saving account, but many other apps have the same feature at this point and would be reasonable when it comes to borrowing money until payday. Also I’ve been with you all since the first varo app that was out all the way up until the new app so I feel as if there should at least a membership where if you’ve been so long and have direct deposit set up then you should qualify it’s not like it’s not already setup where you all will receive your money soon as it hits the account so it’s something to put into consideration not only for me a loyal customer but for the rest of your customers in general. Thank you

Loved This App, But Now Don’t Recommend. I loved this app, joined back when it was Varo Money. I have a collection of some their first ever debit cards and was thinking about getting the credit card. The saving and checking was awesome and worked just like a real bank but fully online. Even had mobile check deposit, disputes and direct deposits. It becoming Varo Bank made me leave my old bank. But now I cannot say that, in recent years they have been denying disputes for most customers even when it legitimate. I seen a lot people talk about this online as well. But I haven’t had to many issues but recently haven’t been using the account but made an order online I never got. I filed the dispute and got the money back but then they closed my account. I have never had an account closed for a dispute before! Idk what happened in the last year or so but Varo is gone down hill and would not recommend. I used to see a lot hate for Chime but it’s looking as good or better then Varo now so I might give it a chance. But idk will be using Varo again…

Horrendous deposit limits that competitors don’t have. Came for the high interest yield savings (like most people) and cancelled my account within a month. Would’ve cancelled sooner but I wanted to give the bank a chance. It’s the 1st of December and I still haven’t received my funds and it’s been over three weeks since I cancelled. Customer service’s feedback was “they’re escalating it and they’re not sure a check was even issued...”.I still don’t have my money which I saved for Christmas shopping and I don’t even know when I’ll get it. To be more specific Varo has ridiculous limits (like tiny limit i.e $50) for the amount you can deposit into your savings from an outside institution. You can avoid the limit if you originate the transfer from the outside institution but many banks charge a fee for doing that. Ally bank, a direct competitor, doesn’t have any limits or restrictions like that. Essentially Varo tries to get you to utilize more of their services like their checking account (obligatory checking account by the way). They want you to get automatic deposits too, for example, and in return they will increase your deposit limits. On top of everything they made the cancellation process a nightmare. There are so many better options out there. Stay away

Get it together.. I’ll just keep adding to this until someone does something. Varo emailed me after the review below. Nothing since 11/22 and nothing back from my email on 11/26 asking for an update. The issue is still there. NO View Card button unless I close the app and start over. I even spoke to a phone rep before writing this - they said they’d escalate it and email me, that didn’t happen. I’m about to close my account. Original review: I switched to Varo from another online bank that constantly had technical issues. It’s been fine until recently. Upon logging in, the View Card button is gone, and I have to close the app and start over to make it reappear. Every single time. I updated the app, did the software update, etc. I submitted a support request, and finally got an “automated” email six days later with seven different suggestions for login help. I don’t need help logging in. I need you to fix this issue that only started a couple weeks ago. It’s very inconvenient. I use the View Card feature all the time to lock and unlock my card since I had my old debit card number stolen. Make it easier to connect with an actual person. Don’t take almost a week to respond and then send me a bunch of mumbo jumbo that has nothing to do with my request. Obviously no one read it. Not happy.

Poor choice to use. Takes almost an hour to reach customer service and then when you do they give you a two minute explanation hangup, forcing you to call back again and wait another hour if you enjoy wasting time on the phone, hoping and praying that they will answer at some point great card, they do not offer any reasons into any decisions they make regarding the card or your account they give no explanation why they close your account. They give no explanation as to what happens to the remaining funds in your account once it is closed, this overall is a very poor company very poor card to use. There are other cards out there that are much more friendlier much more convenient than Varo. There’s many good stories about this card but I’m sure there’s many others out there who just don’t wanna waste any more time on this card and leaving a review they figure let you find out the hard way I give it -5. Somebody really should call the Better Business Bureau and have this company reviewed.

I LOVE Varo!. I’ve been with Varo for awhile now and it just gets better and better! My only complaint ever is I don’t have direct deposit so ACH transfers do take awhile, roughly 3-4 days but money gets there. Transfers within the account are instant though. ALSO I’ve had a few ACH transfers take an extra day or two. I didn’t even send any complaints and they just GAVE ME MONEY! I’ve gotten $25 twice now for delayed transfers as an apology from them. Most recently my reason for making this review was their email responses. I sent an email noticing I couldn’t make any ACH transfers. Their automated reply said 3-4 days so I thought they’d get back to me by Monday or Tuesday. THEY REPLIED NEXT DAY ON A SUNDAY! This may sound silly because this is a bank. But from my experience it really feels like they care! It’s like a small town bank with the bigger bank benefits. If you’re on the ropes definitely join Varo! You’ll soon find out for yourself why it’s so great!

WORST ONLINE BANK EVER!!!. This bank is the WORST bank in the history of online banks! They are never on time with stuff they mail you, customer service is absolutely horrible, and if you have to call them don’t expect any kind of help! The app is terrible and you can’t do anything with your money until you receive the card even if it’s a varo to varo transfer, which has nothing to do with a card! Hardly any kind of transfer is instant! It’s all around a horrible bank! I sat in the dark for 4 days all because my card didn’t come on time and customer service couldn’t help me in any kind of way with “MY” Money to pay my lights until the card came! I was supposed to receive said card on Friday well it didn’t come, even though the crappy app said the 14th which was 3-4 days before the Friday date that customer service told me. They also preceded to tell me they couldn’t give me my card number over the phone! I was gonna connect it to my Chime (awesome bank btw)and transfer my money out which they couldn’t help me with. So once I finally get my money out of this bank and turn my electric on I will definitely be closing my account down!!!

I used to love them now they are Horrible!. I loved this bank and referred them to all my friends but when I got the $50 bonus for doing so they took it back 33 days later. They just locked me out of my account because my husband put us in a family plan with AT&T and they gave us new phone numbers but I still have the same phone. So I had noticed that my save my change feature was really going right in their pockets because they don’t put it in my savings account, 2 months ago I made a purchase for $27 and had $87 in my account my remaining bal was $16 how is that possible? I just had $280 in my main account and $105 in my savings so since I’ve got a new number I cannot access that money, my card is being declined and I called and they said that my balance is $0 that all my money was transferred but they don’t know where or to whom! So they have been stealing my money for a year now and now they completely screwed me over. They are now saying that I haven’t had an account with them since November 2020 when I just had $1000 deposited into my account in the 23rd of this month! The representative who updated my phone number 7 times said she has never seen anything like this and she is very sorry but she doesn’t know how to help me. So beware and pay close attention, keep your own documentation of spending and your in a note book do not depend on the app like I did! Good Luck 🤞🏽

Nothing but ongoing issues since they switched to Varo Bank. Since Varo received their charter to become a bank there has been nothing but ongoing issues with them ever since. From glitches with activation to account glitches, swiping your card and paying for items glitches, weird account error message glitches...I got annoyed with it all and moved my DD back to Chime temporarily hoping that maybe one day Varo will get it together and I would potentially switch back. I did leave my account opened to deposit and cash checks via mobile deposit. They used to have a great turn around time with that. I have been using this service for over a year or two. Well now they are slacking in that area also. Banks make their money based on how much funds you hold in your account at the end of the day. So you would think they would be doing everything they can to keep their customers happy. Hmph not this bank. It was fine when they were Varo Money. I don’t understand why they chose to switch over. It’s been nothing but chaos ever since. I’m to the point where I am so disappointed with these folks that I am about to close my account completely. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I gave them many chances and months to redeem themselves. I’m so disappointed especially after speaking so highly of their services. It’s very saddening and very unfortunate.

Varo is a Scam of a Bank. Beware of this bank!!! I don’t leave reviews but had to in this case. Varo originally had super attractive savings rates, but made you jump through a bunch of hoops to get those rates. Absurd hoops that no other institutions require, like specific balances down to the dollar amount, and number of debit transactions in a month. I didn’t mind in the beginning because the rates were so good. But once I had moved a bunch of my money into Varo, they put new restrictions every few months on how much interest your money could earn. They also cut the rates every few months and revised their policies and just mailed you the new, lower rates. Complete BAIT AND SWITCH. Then, when I tried to remove money from Varo, they made it really difficult to pull money out. They imposed really restrictive transfer amounts. And they don’t play nice with major US banks, making external transfers even more difficult. In other words, they tricked me into bringing my money to their bank and then tried everything possible to keep my money. Horrible way to run a bank. The advertisement of being “the bank for all of us” is a complete lie.

Missing funds. Yesterday afternoon I cash out money from my cash app to my Varo debit card and went to check my account and the money was NOT THERE ! Then Varo posted on the same day that they are experiencing technical issues with app and your balance might not be correct. I waited all day for the issue to be resolved and it wasn’t. I called Varo this morning and spoke to a representative and she tells me the supervisor is taking care of the problem and I should receive a email by the end of today about my funds and my account. Remember, this has been like this since yesterday and yesterday was my birthday. If I was really dependent on this money or had a emergency I would have been screwed because of Varo issues. Once this problem is resolved, I will deactivate my account Varo and move on to a better company. Varo was a great app to use til the New Varo debit cards came out and the new Varo app. Varo you have officially lost a long time customer because of lack of communication and the long waiting period for my funds to be shown on my account. I will NOT recommend Varo to any friends or family.

I love Varo Debit & Credit!!. Varo is helping to boost my credit score with the Varo Believe card which did take me a little while to get due to switching multiple jobs during Covid. I’ve never had any issues with Varo. The only problem I am having right now is with the App most recent update here in November 2022. When I try to sign in on my iPhone 13pro max, it makes me type in the email address everytime now. Before the update, it would just scan my face and sign itself in. It’s kind of weird cause now sometimes it will try to scan my face after I have already signed in with the email and password. It’s not a major issue cause I definitely love the new Layout! Keep it up! Just 1 small issue I found with this update that annoys me cause as a Crypto/Stock investor, I check my accounts multiple times per day and also transfer funds all the time. It’s very important to me that I can log in quickly when needed. Love you guys over at the Varo team (live chat & customer’s service too)!! ❤️

Helps Me Budget & Really Nice Credit Building Card. I’m a college student, with let’s be real these past 3 years I accrued quite a decent amount of debt between student loans and a couple credit cards. It’s very hard for me to not use my credit cards especially since I live in an area where card fraud is rampant and getting money back from your bank when your debit card number gets stolen is like pulling teeth. This card is awesome because I recently got a decent paying but low hours internship and I have all my internship money put on this card for my spending. My part time job goes straight to my bank for bills. The transfers are so easy, many ATM availability options (literally one less than a minute from my house), has a credit building card that can help you boost your score without acruing more crippling debt and fees. This card has really helped me put my life in perspective as put me on path to making better financial decisions.

Fast and Efficient. I was really surprised by VARO’S ease of use and absence of unnecessary stuff. I don’t expect much from online only banking platforms, I guess because of the abundance of them. Throughout the past year however, on lock down, and now transitioning back to work, transactions that go through VARO move very fast and the security system is completely reliable without being as over the top as some of the competition’s, which, despite having an account for over two years (with one service in particular) and having used the same device for banking for nearly a year, requires my full web login and 2-factor authorization, on TOP of biometrics. VARO also had a feature that will cover you if you’re in a jam. When I needed $50 and just didn’t have it on me, I launched VARO and set up a loan in about 2 minutes.

Soo disappointed and MAD. Before they switched I never had a problem! I am a Varo user for years! Mid last week, I actually ran into a problem where I felt my account was compromised, I called them, and they froze my account for potential fraud. Ok that’s fine. That was on Wednesday. It is not the following SATURDAY and I still have NO ACCESS to my money. I have called EVERY DAY waiting on hold for nothing under an hour..Thursday once I got thru the call “dropped” so guess who had to stay on hold another HOUR!?. I have bills to pay and no access to MY MONEY. I keep hearing “I’m so sorry...fraud will contact you”. I have gotten 1 email from them and that’s it! This is crap. And the only way to reach someone is by email? I’ve emailed support and “fraud” so many times I’m sure they know my name by heart now. I’m tired of this and I need my money. It’s not fair...it has been 10 days and bills are due. All of my money is frozen like art on a wall...this is ridiculous. After this whole situation and the way it’s handled, I’m considering pulling all my money once it’s open again and closing this account. I’m totally disgusted....

Worse customer service ever. At first I recommended this to everyone I knew but in the last year their customer service has become a joke excessive hold times, hung up on multiple times, ask for supervisor and they transfer you back into the call que now because they do not have a declined transaction info system set up I am being charged a $30 fee a $50 fee because they declined a $20 transaction and are now telling me basically that I’m lying I couldn’t have seen the transaction pending if I didn’t use my card and asking me if I had a screen shot of something I tried to pay last month well had I thought I needed to prove I’m not a liar I would have taken one,seriously? So now because no one thought to make all the account transactions available to customers I will be paying $80 instead of the original $20 reinstatement fee I thought had been paid already. And got hung up on by Lenny yet another supervisor that did not bother to even call me back. DO NOT GET THIS!!! I can’t stress that enough it’s not worth it. After I close this if they can’t take cash then they don’t get paid because I will never trust another banking institution again.

Varo. This online banking app is only good until you come across an issue. Good luck getting phone support and if you get scammed, say bye to those funds as well as Varo won’t help you recover anything. The only thing good I see is getting early deposit. Other than that everything is a headache. So many limitation when it comes to sending money. They finally incorporated zelle but you still have very low limits to how much you can transfer. Security and safety is their least concern. I will be closing my account once I get my deposit and stick to a traditional bank with more safety nets and better banking process. *** update*** I don’t why emailed again even though I knew what they where going to say. They basically copied and pasted the same reasoning they provided last time as to why I was not protected from the scam. They don’t even have the decency or professionalism to assign you a representative to actually look into the issue further. Please stay away from this bank. I have been transferring my funds already. Stick to Chase or big name banks that’s actually internationally organized. Don’t get tricked into the early pay day shenanigans!!!! *** again please do not use Varo. No support after 4 mountain time which is laughable for a bank that claims to be good.

High interest rate but at VERY high frustration cost. Sure the interest rate is great, but what use is it when they won’t even allow external transfers to a different bank—an incredibly simple core functionality of any standard bank! When I emailed and called to understand what was going on, and why I was receiving an error message that said “your transfer didn’t go through. An unexpected error occurred,” they said “periodically our automatic system has new requirements that allow certain accounts to conduct external transfers” —zero transparency as to what these “new requirements” are and zero clarity as to why I am supposedly “ineligible” ?? PLUS after I click on the “try again” button in the error screen, it then says the transfer was successful even though the Transfer history page shows every attempt of a transfer has been cancelled (and no actual money was transferred out). Inconsistencies in UX across different pages. How am I supposed to know if the transfer went through or not? How am I supposed to figure out what to fix on my end, to make it work??

Why did you take away so many useful things?. This app is worse than the original app. You should have kept the old one. I shouldn’t have to open the app to view my updated balance. The old app would let you see your balance via notification if you spend anything. Also when you make a transfer from savings to checking or visa versa there is no notification at all. You guys took one step forwards and 10 steps back. When someone send you money via Zelle for example, still no notification saying the money is received as well. You have to log in and wait to see the funds. It use to be almost instant with the old app. This update was the worst thing you guys have done. I was ok with updating my direct deposit and all those other things, but not giving the user proper notifications is not good. I need to be able to see what goes in and out of my account, and I see other reviews saying the same things. Why change something that wasn’t broken? At least keep the useful things. It’s useful to be able to view your current balance after you spent some money without having to log in completely. Whoever took away these features should give me their job. You had one job. One job. Now I need to find another bank.

In a downward spiral of disappointment. This bank was great when they first launched. I loved banking with them. Over the last two years, they’ve become increasingly disappointing and as of today, seem just downright incompetent. Their customer service has completely evaporated and their banking practices are ridiculously inconvenient and frustrating. All they seem to care about is safeguarding themselves, no matter what the cost to their customers. They “accidentally” refused a refund I had waited a full two weeks for them to process, only to be left stranded with nothing in a strange town when the money never made it to my account. This was back when customer service was reachable, but all they could say was “0ops” and that I had to have the refund issued again and wait for it to process - again! Unbelievable. Now, you cannot even get a person to assist you, and when they respond by email 3 days later, they offer you an automated response that is completely worthless and unhelpful. Like I said, I was a huge fan of this so-called bank for a couple of years there. But now I have to warn you all - BEWARE.

Update: I must not be the only one to complain about how difficult it is to just change the cell phone number…because just the other day, surprise surprise! I can change my cell phone number easily on the app (which took seconds). Thank you Varo. On 28 March, I tried to contact customer service, because there is no way to change my cellphone number on the app (they send a canned response requiring me to send a pic of my id AND a pic of me holding my id. Hmmm... didn’t have to produce those pics to start the account with varo. Wait time was “over an hour”. They replied to my complaint online, saying it (hold time was temporary). 19 of April, again, heard “your wait time is over one hour.” All I wanna do is change my cell phone number! What if I had a deposit that never showed up? What if I need to dispute a charge on my account? Look at other reviews, that’s what ppl are saying about varo. So good luck to you if you decide to bank with these guys.

Long time using. I’ve been using Varo for a few years now and I haven’t had any issues with them. The let borrow any money to pay bills or advance time and you could build that up and raise your limit as long as petite pay them back on time. Once you don’t pay them know that they don’t allow each while any money more they cut you off, but after about a year now I say they want to stand allows the option to be able to do that starting back down at just $20 but as I pay that off every time I borrow it then he’ll reset again,Which is pretty cool. They also offer a credit card options , it’s like secured credit card. you can put money on it and then they paid on time for you every month to help raise your credit Score. I always to take my money from my savings account. That way I can sit there and then move it to my regular account. Which is my debit card account and then from there I move it to my credit card I have time I make a purchase I used to be pretty and so far is raise my credit score up month after month. This last month alone it has route seven points. So if someone who is looking for a way to raise your credit score, but your dad and be able to borrow money, will they pay the interest on your savings account.

Beware!!!. Varo allows you to borrow an advance but if you don’t pay it back within 30 days of borrowing you are never allowed to borrow again no matter how many times you’ve paid back on time. With my specific situation I was late paying back my advance due to a pay check error with my employer. Due to this error I was very low on funds. I got an email from VaroAFTER I was 30 days past due and no longer eligible for an advance stating “woo hoo! Your advance amount has increased !” So of course with me being low on cash I figured I was still eligible and paid it back assuming I’d be able to not only borrow again but borrow a bit more. WRONG. I called them and I complained about the email which wasn’t automated because it had very specific account info and I had received daily emailes reminding me about the past due advance balance , so their system was updated In regards to that fact. When I contacted Varo to see if my ability to take an advance could be reinstated they just said sorry they sent out the email on “accident “ and oh well basically. Terrible terrible terrible. I have never had a bank literally LIE in an email!

Do not use Varo. Unless you don’t mind Varo holding double what you pay. I can’t even buy food for my family because I made a payment yesterday and they are holding double what the payment was. So I have no money for food. They said maybe 7 days it’ll be back in my account. What am I supposed to do for food for 7 days Varo? I hate this bank and the customer service is so bad. You can only chat with someone. You can’t talk to anyone ever. Worst bank ever. Do not use varo!!!!!!!!!! So now it’s 5 days after I made the first legit transaction and the 2 nd fraudulent transaction is still pending. The merchant says it’s the bank Varo says it’s the merchant. I’ve sent numerous emails to varo customer support. With zero response!!! Use any bank app besides Varo. Soon as this b.s. is settled I will never use Varo again. It’s been 6 days with no response from Varo. No response no nothing. Thanks for nothing Varo. No Varo I am not going to waste any more of my time trying to contact you. I will never use Varo again. Varo is the worst bank app available. DO NOT USE VARO !!!!

DO NOT USE AS APPLE PAY. Every month I wake up to a NEGATIVE balance and their response is “Apple is a big company so it might not send the money payment right then. So keep the fund available until it clears. Walmart is another big company…” Any bank institution I’ve been with and sent a Apple Pay it takes out immediately. I transfer funds often to avoid overdraft due to the previous months. When I go to Walmart to swipe my card, I transfer thr exact amount from my SAVINGS into my CHECKINGS VARO ACCOUNT and the money is IMMEDIATELY taken off. Last time they said they never took out $100 and took my last available $100. Which they can never provide PROOF. The STATEMENTS are difficult to understand because they leave out the remaining balance. They have this “available balance “ and “pending balance “ thing going on. VARO is a PENDING BANK. When you think you’ve already made a purchase and have received your goods VARO will come and take your money. ALSO, REFUND notifications are NOT available. So if you’re waiting on a refund, you’ll just have to keep checc’n it. Cause even with the notifications ON, still they only show DIRECT DEPOSITS and SPENDING/ REMAINING Balance AFTER MAKING A PURCHASE. With this being said, I tried to sticc with Online banking because I travel around the world, but I’m canceling my account. I can’t depend on VARO to be there and have my funds available when I need it. Do not link your account to Apple Pay for 100% SURE

Mobile check deposit. I have no idea what happened but if a few bad apples fell from a tree throw them away and not the whole tree. I signed up a friend saying that this bank was hands down the best and he wanted to add a check he received from Carvana. What happens… no check capability. Been like that for quite a bit. He is upset and gave a thumbs down. I also needed to get the 50 for signing him but he did not use my link. I sent an email to customer service and the answer was so confusing. So I don’t know if I can still get the referral bonus or not. I hope I don’t have to change banks been with varo since it opened. No one should have to do direct deposit to cash a check. The first payment once set up with a company is normally a check. So explain how I’m supposed to do direct deposit before getting to cash a check????? Check cashing is a must have feature for banking. With or without direct deposit. If you have fraudulent checks then you need to put in place a way for them to be stopped. New check 10 day waiting period. Different payor then a 7 day waiting fee if your account is established. Large amount again waiting period. If your account is in good standing no issues then these stop gaps would not be in place…but direct deposit in order to cash… not good practice.

Use anything besides Varo. I started with chime. Phenomenal bank. Then I tried Varo. Worst experience for online bank. Terrible customer service. They don’t even have an in app way to chat to customer service. You can’t even request a new card within the app. I had my account charged or hacked 5-10 separate times. Sometimes for 99 cents other times for 40, then hundreds. At least they disputed and gave it back or this would be way different. Varo advance is trash. Doesn’t pay it back on when you get direct deposited you have to schedule it and if you miss like I apparently did you can NEVER be eligible wow for 20 dollars. Chime let me 25,45 then 90. Even 200 when Covid started. Never a fee always paid back and able to be used again after I got paid or deposited. I now use current which visually looks better and has better features. I CANNOT for the life of me could see how Varo could even earn praise let alone preference when there way better banks. You can’t link Varo with other services like plaid since apparently not famous enough but either choose Chime or current. Albert or anything. Varo is trash.

Used to love them. I used Varo for a couple of years with no issues and loved it. I have/had the advance line and would use it between paydays if I was running short. Made my repayment in full, have screenshots SHOWING the payment was successful (since they don’t give you a confirmation #) and they still say I have a $94 balance on my advance and will withhold any incoming $. I reached out to customer service and was told the payment failed even tho I sent in the screen shots that gave the successful payment message as well as the balance deducted from my account. That was when I stopped using them. They’ve already gotten their $ back, but continue to tell me I owe it. The only reason the account is still open at this point is because it’s the deposit acct that was listed for my income taxes and I unfortunately can’t change it with the state. So I’m assuming I’ll lose that $94 AGAIN when that deposit is made, but at least at that point it’s excess $ that I don’t necessarily NEED to run my household and I can finally be rid of Varo for good.

Better than Chime. I started out using Chime Bank because of the early paycheck and spotme benefits. However, over time Chime started taking away spotme amounts and experienced several nationwide outages where you couldn’t even load your account or the app. They would also deny you access to your funds after your check deposited for hours if not days. Finally decided to try out Varo and ditch chime and I am happy. Varo let’s you receive your check early, borrow funds when you need it, and even offers a credit builder that actually works as Chimes Credit builder never raised my credit 1 point smh. Only drawback is the small fee you pay to take out an advance but I get twice the amount to borrow lol. I’ve tried at least 15 banks and Varo is the best by far. Oh and you get a $50 referral bonus that you don’t have to wait weeks for.

Ease of use … very easy and appealing !!. The app is really easy to use . I love the colors . I love the layout . I had Varo a few years now, but just started using them for my second job direct deposit . They paid 1 day early on Thursday as expected (most always give me on Thursday and I’m okay with that)…. Great potential. I’ve been with Varo for over for A few years now and I have to say this is been one of the happiest that I’ve been with a bank however there are some flaws that need to be worked out. Other than the slow response time in getting a new replacement card and the lack of Quick turnaround with the claims process when disputing charges, Varo seems to be a force to be reckoned with and should make other banks VERY scared. I went from having a Chase account to having only Varo due to how happy I have been with this institution so much to where I have been very patient with the process for claims and replacement cards lol. Definitely a bank that I recommend to other people as well as I’m hoping new features including adding multiple people to accounts for couples etc.

Happy With the Bank, Not So Much the App. I love Varo bank. I have no complaints. I get my direct deposits earlier, it’s easy to get a hold of someone when I have an issue (which is few and far in between), and their advance option is super convenient with flexible payback options. My issue is with the app itself. It started with me opening the app and not seeing any options to log in. I would click out of the app, go to one of my other open apps, and then go back to the Varo app and the log in options would display. For the past couple of weeks, that has not been helping. The login options still don’t display but now going into another open app doesn’t work. Even restarting the app and a soft reset of my phone don’t help either. It’s like I can only get into the app when it feels like displaying the login options or I just check my balance via Safari. Not too much of a pain but it’s like why do I have the app?

If your money is stolen kiss it goodbye. I was charged for some that I wasn’t supposed to Varo did not issue a credit for starters. Then said the investigation would take 90 days it’s been way past 90 days we’re on day 105 I called them and they said “we want to give the company a little more time to respond”. Excuse me? The multi-billion dollar company that my money wouldn’t even make a dent in? I bank with you and you are supposed to fight for me not them. Could you imagine going 105 days without a load of money? I can’t tell a company that I can’t pay my bill for 90 days. I also have a card with chase something similar happened a year and a half ago and was refunded instantly. Ladies and gentlemen that’s the difference between real banks and banks like Varo and chime. Choose a bank that’s fights for you not a bank that fights for the multi-billion dollar company that stole your money.

Most under- rated banking app!. I love the fact that Varo is an online banking service. There are no ridiculous fees. I don’t have to worry about getting to the bank before it closes, because they have several open-late locations. Transferring money to my partner for bills has never been easier, and the app itself is really easy to navigate- all the information needed is where you’d expect it to be, no more hunting down account details or struggling to find transaction history. The Varo customer service has been more than dedicated to helping me with a multitude of things, and are always so friendly whenever I call. I recommend Varo to everyone who is considering a switch or even just a new bank.

I’ve been apart of Varo Money since 2017. Varo refuses to recognize how long I’ve been a valued member. Only claims I’ve used it for less than 3 years which is an absolute lie. Customer service is asinine and provides zero English speaking individuals with an IQ high enough to understand my problem let alone solve my problem without hanging up on me in the rudest unamerican manner. I’ve been receiving advances for since May 2023 and as of this month varo refuses to allow me an advance of more than 20 dollars even though I only get paid monthly, I am disabled and this is olgicarical tyrany. Discrimination of my disability. Varo robbed $25 of my imcome from me this month so now my income is even lower than what it is supposed to legally be. I need immediate attention on this matter because if this doesn’t stop people are getting dropped.

Bad. Been having quite a lot of issues with this app ever since they switched to a bee version of the app. I had $700 in my account and couldn’t pay for gas or buy groceries for a few days, luckily I had another bank. In the past when I had issues with my car it was just a phone call and a few options to choose, then speak with someone and I’d be able to have my issue fixed. Now there’s way more options to go through and I haven’t been able to speak to any one. And now some has hacked my account was moving money through it illegally. I luckily only had $5 left in there since I took everything out, but it jumped to $50, then $30 then $80 and then $12. I wish I took a photo of it but with so much going on it my life I forgot. I want to cancel my account with them but they won’t answer my calls. Never using this app again, there’s Lilly and real banks and BoA and chase so that’s good

Can’t beat the interest rate or the ease of use!. I wish they would go back to letting me have over $5k and earn the 3% but it’s the only bank that I know of currently letting you earn over 1%. I understand the limit. Its quick and easy to move money when you need to. I have been able to set my credit cards to be paid directly from my savings account which is super fantastic and saves me from hassle. I’ve made this my primary bank. Notifications are instant when any transactions occur and deposits are practically instant. My company pays on Friday but the portion of my check deposited to Varo is available on Wednesday evening. I recommend Varo to everyone!

Horrible and very limited customer service.. I was happy as could be with Varo right up until they randomly blocked my ability to utilize Zelle for transfers in and out of my account. This wasn’t just a minor inconvenience for me as I get paid from my employer and contract jobs via Zelle so they really threw a wrench in my life. No notice, no warning and worst of all, ZERO explanations. After calling their lame support several times to try to get an answer as to WHY this decision was made, nothing. Not even the courtesy of an email that THEY SPECIFICALLY SAID THEY WOULD SEND!! i’m baffled and disgusted by my experience and because I don’t like being treated like a criminal by my own bank I’ll be moving my funds elsewhere. Btw I am still happily using Zelle through my other bank so this was not Zelle doing this to me it was Varo. Also, their app is garbage. It’s ALWAYS having issues and is actually currently down right now 😂 can’t even make a transfer from my savings into my bank account with them. Horrible horrible horrible

Easy to Use. The app is easy to use. The app provides you with a virtual card while waiting for your physical card to arrive. You can link external bank accounts to see available balances and to transfer funds between accounts easily. The only think I dislike so far is the fact that I cannot use the Zelle feature unless I have a direct deposit coming into the account. Direct deposit should not be a requirement to use the Zelle feature. Zelle was created to allow easy transfer of monies from one person to another person or to make purchases quickly and easily online. I would recommend removing the requirement of the direct deposit for the use of Zelle to make your app and banking product more favorable to clients. People who don’t qualify for traditional banking need this feature as well. Personally, my landlord would only accept rent payments through Zelle or Venmo. If my Venmo account would be compromised I would use Zelle to make rent payments. If this feature isn’t available for someone unless they have direct deposit available from an employer, the customer would be unable to make payments such as the example above.

Good experience until it was terrible. I’ve never written a review before but I’ve been driven to do so. I have been using Varo for a few years now and haven’t really had any issues with them. However, I recently received an email with no previous notice or reason, stating that my savings and checking accounts have been closed. I have no way to access my money that I had left in the bank, and I could only put in a request for a refund check. There are no options to chat with a representative via live chat because they shut my account down, and even by calling customer support there’s no way to speak with a real person. After this happened I hopped on the internet to see what I could do, and apparently this has happened to many many other people. When considering Varo as a bank please be wary and make sure to read their terms and conditions!

Worst App Ever!!!!!. After seeing this app and believing the positive reviews about this bank, I decided to give it a chance. At first it seems legit and going well as I linked my work account onto it, so that my pay is transferred to Varo. BIG MISTAKE! After I got paid and Varo has my money, I was not able at all to get a hold of my money that I earned. I even wasn’t able to get the money to be transferred to my main Bank! I tried for days to have Varo give me my money but it keeps canceling the transfer, even though I successfully linked/added my bank on the app. Not to mention that their Live-Chat system is beyond ridiculous and useless! Don’t rely on getting the best help on there because, when you get a customer service representative, their response takes forever to wait and — even then — you get no help whatsoever!!! This is worse app I’ve ever downloaded and a huge mistake of ever trying! After I resolve this issue and get my money, I will deactivate this immediately! They do nothing but steal your money. I do not recommend downloading this bank!!!

Disappointed. I was asking to speak with a supervisor or department that handles applications so I could discuss why Varo shouldn’t automatically decline me. When the agent kept denying me that opportunity I asked why and she said “you have to have an open account for me to connect you with anyone because the people that handle that are in the back office, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT.” So condescending and silly because it shouldn’t be my job to know that, not every bank is ran the same and to add insult to injury to the whole ordeal with Varo declining me when I didn’t do anything fraudulent or wrong and just wanted to discuss my situation and straighten out any concerns they have with me opening another account, I was still never transferred anyone or heard out and helped. Not through email support and not over he phone. Guess not meant to be, when they say final it’s final. Chime it is then

False Advertisement. Hello people. This “bank” is the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. I’m 54… I’ve gone through some banks in my life time THIS COMPANY THAT CALLS THEMSELVES A BANK…far far far and away from a bank. They claim to pay $50 as a referral fee to the referrer and $50 to the referee right?! Then TELL ME WHY…after 2 weeks I just received my card yes 2 weeks… no temporary digital card either… there were no updates about the fee. I called into customer service waited 63 minutes on hold representative says “you didn’t click on the link” Yes the wholly crap I did!!!!! If you start an application but don’t finish the process flow then it doesn’t count €}¥?\%WHAT? I was working to put funds in this crappy account that was only opened as a favor!!! People don’t… it’s the app’s against us with false Advertisement and excuses AFTER gathering all of our personal and financial information we don’t qualify….. hold your breath and pass out Varo because I held mine for 2 weeks!!!!!!

Not a real bank. Mobile check deposits do take more than a week to deposit at real banks. Direct deposits do not deposit the DAY AFTER they’re scheduled at normal banks. Varo is just another financial tech scam like Chime created to prey on low income people. I opened an account with Varo recently and deposited a small check for forty dollars to test their system with an amount of money I could sacrifice - as stated I found that it takes more than a week to become available. As we all know at an actual bank this check for the same amount would’ve become available immediately and a larger check would have made some of the amount available with the remainder processing over the next day or so but never as a long as a week. This only happens at scam banks. Varo isn’t a bank they’re just an app they hire out a third party “bank” to hold money. You’ve been warned. Just another barely regulated scam. I’ve already reported them to the fdic. The App Store should allow these kinds of apps that prey on people.

Love it. This has really been a great bank for me so far. The app is up-to-date, and they are still a growing bank and I look forward to seeing their new products as they come out. The only drawback recently has been due to the pandemic with lower federal interest rates so their savings account perks have dwindled a little bit but in my opinion they’re doing their best with what they have. For example their 2.8% savings cap used to be on $50,000 and then lowered to 10,000 and now it’s 5000 here recently but they increased the percentage from 2.8 to 3. So it’s definitely a good savings account for somebody that’s just starting their savings. Hey Varo! Increase your savings cap back to where it was when you can, please! Lol

Perfect. Varo Bank is an amazing financial institution that has so many perks that go alongside it. The interest rate for your savings account has great profit opportunities. You can see your account information, plus withdrawal and deposit information. Easily transfer money between different banks. No fees like other cards, and I get my check 2 days earlier than my pay date. I’ve been using this bank for a decent amount of time, and wanted to make sure my review was accurate and not just some random 1 day user. I don’t plan on going anywhere with Varo. Oh, and they also have this tool that will fill in the blanks for your direct deposit information, and you can print it out and hand it to your employer.

This is a real review.. Guys do not get chime. My work does not offer direct deposit so I could not really do anything with chime. I made a chime account three days ago and I woke up today and it was suspended. They claim that I already had a account and now have to send them my identification documents to prove myself. I decided to look online for similar mobile apps and I found Varo. Instantly it was easy to make my account and get everything set up in less than five minutes. Also on chime it wouldn’t let me transfer money from my local bank savings account to my chime. VARO LETS ME DO THAT. I love this App, absolutely outstanding! Wish I could give you guys ten stars and a donation!

Full bank with limits. As a full real bank ( not cash app , chime etc) this is not prepaid. It backs itself not with another bank. I had a problem with a hotel that insisted it was a prepaid bank. Not arguing fussing too much I used my work debit which was a prepaid but because the label said D….. credit union it was believed to be non pre paid . Now granted it was a credit union, but it was paid through paycheck plus service and the credit union was the money backer such as you see in cash app with Sutton bank. Needless to say, that manager is no longer with that hotel, and after a small concern mention to the hotel main office I receive a free night So in short, don’t judge a book by its cover, or in this case, the bank Varo bank may be not the high end like BoA or chase etc but I get my pay on Wednesday vs Friday. The customer service is limited in hard to get a hold you over the phone, but when I lost my wallet and had to report cards, replace my Varo card arrived sooner than all the others which were in the big 3 of banks. Need to have more credit card options even if secure.

Love this bank but recently…. I’ve had this bank for about 2 and a half years. While I lived on the east coast and California, I received my deposits early in the morning and on time. Had no issues then. Now that I live in Nevada, my deposits come in at night time but at different times. It could be 8:25pm, 8:40 pm or later. It’s currently past 9 pm and still no deposit. Also sometimes when transferring money from your savings account to your checking account, the funds you just transferred don’t show and some times it takes longer than it should to display the transfer. It could take an hour. I don’t want to keep waiting, worrying and wondering about when the money, that I worked long hours for, is going to show up so I can pay my bills!

UPDATE pt 2. Varo is the worst banking app ever do not sign up!!! This is the third time in ONE week that they have suspended my account due to “verifying” like what? They are verifying nothing there is nothing to verify i dont even get paid in that account and barely use it. But every time I come to use my funds or check on it my account is suspended. Fix the app or i am transferring funds and moving to a better bank leave me out of your technical stuff Still have not been able to properly access my account or send money to it because everyday it is suspended for security. Varo lacks professional and lacks a real sophisticated security system. If their system was so sophisticated it would be smart enough to identify the difference between fraud and a log in! Once again Varo locked my account for 8 days total due to “suspicious” activity and now they have deleted my account. They don’t even know why they did that.

Was a customer for 3+ years. Overall I was very happy to have had VARO, they were a lifesaver in that particular moment in my life and I stayed with them through everything since, I’ve had some issues a few times with transactions and they solved my problems quick and were very helpful everytime. Also always linkable and convenient. I have recommended them to at least 50+ people in the time I had them...now I would have given 5 stars, if it weren’t that they closed my account 2 days ago...apparently in the user agreement, the account is not to be used as a business account and I had my SBA loan deposited to this account...they told me that it violated the agreement which was terms for account closure..it’s unfortunate...but I would still recommend this bank...just don’t have an SBA loan deposited to it.

Great Bank deserves all the stars. Varo is a great bank and constantly adding features and things. They are customer focused and do the right thing and always look out for their customers! I have used other banks (chime, brick and mortar banks, BOA, etc.) and felt like they were only using their customers to make money. Any questions I have had are answered promptly and when I had a transaction dispute they fought for me and got the money back without me having to really do anything. They didn’t take no for an answers when the merchant took multiple payments for items that were not delivered and even when the merchant stopped answering they still fought for me and I got every penny of my money back! Chose this bank they actually save you money and offer great rewards! Amazing bank. They do banking the way it should be done 🤩🤩💰❤️

Terrible Experience. I signed up for this bank because of the promotional earn $50 when you spend $20 on your Varo debit card. I did all as said, I spent the $20 and waited around for my credit to hit my account for about 2 weeks. I eventually call customer service to speak with a representative regarding this. He told me all is well and I’d be receiving the credit any day up to a week & asked to be patient until I received my credit of $50. So I waited another week and a half. still never received it. called customer service again and this lady was very rude, told me I was not eligible even though I had just spoken to representative literally a week earlier and told that I was she said if I wasn’t happy with Varo to you just close my account, that I’m not obligated to bank with them. I told her to go ahead and do it because I don’t want any business with banks that are this unprofessional! Very dissatisfied customer.

I used to be all smiles…. No more. Varo started off with promise, I saw the investments roll in. Progress in the app went in line with better services, faster app, new design, etc. just all these milestones helped Varo become more and more important and legitimate. But then. The ugly underbelly showed up. The support line: outsourced. Virtual team with no real authority to act on your behalf. Better design, but slow loading times. Can't mobile check deposit; they don't know when it will be available. Can't Varo to Varo transfer; they don't know when it will be available. The Zelle interface is awful and clunky - completely different from the Zelle app. But can't even use Zelle; that service is down too. It's all around and Support can't help. They're even willing to tell you to go to another bank. When your own "team" helps your clients find the EXIT door...you might want to rethink things. Good-bye.

Love it!!!. Varo has made banking so much easier for me. I’m able to get all my banking done in no time and I never have to make any extra trips to the bank I also love that I don’t have to any monthly fees for my account ever which is a must for me why should anyone have to pay a bank to put money in it? When my card was stolen they had me a new card in the mail the same day I reported it stolen plus made sure all the transactions were mine as well and there was no charge for a new card like most online banks I’m looking forward to using the new app and card hopefully it just adds to the good job they are doing. So far Varo has been a good choice for me and my already busy life I tell all my friends and family about it and recommend it to anyone looking for a new bank.

Slow and rude customer service. If your bank card is compromised , it will take 14 business days to get a new one. In this day and age, that is ridiculous. If you use the Varo believe they will only let you have access of your money at their discretion. They will not email you until after the fact on things they do within your account that affect your livelihood. Their customer service agents lie and say supervisors are on the phone with them when they are not actually they are in a chat with the agent so you cannot talk to the supervisor directly. I have had a customer service agent clapping at me while she is talking at me rather than listening and trying to help. They use tactics to try and make it seem like you are the problem when they are “transferring” you but not actually transferring you. Supervisors apparently can’t call you, only email you, like what is that? Shady, shady, frustrating organization, do not recommend.

Closed bank account with no reason given.. Varo bank emailed me after 12am stating my account was closed with no reason given. Stating “We can confirm that the closure was appropriate. Per terms of contract with varo bank. We have the right to close your account at any given time for any reason at our sole discretion” Then refer me to their licenses, policies, notices and agreements. Yet they still haven’t given me any specific details as to why my account was closed. As many of banks I have dealt with I’ve never had my account closed without any reason given. *IF* I violated any terms of your conditions or you just no longer consider me a part of Varo bank just state that! Everyone please go to a legitimate bank and create an account. I’ve been dealing with this bank for years and just for them to randomly closed my bank account without any reason and notice days prior to closing plus closing it after midnight when people are usually sleep is beyond insane.

Surprised in a bad way. I have had varo for over a year now and have seen the changes they made. I noticed their customer service has gotten way better from when I first started but now my rating has changed from 5 stars to 3 because I can’t even get an answer from the dispute line. I tried calling during answering hours being Weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm standard mountain time and it wasn’t even 4 pm and they didn’t answer. I’m quite upset. I can’t get ahold of anybody from my own bank to talk about security and fraudulent transactions. Their automatic machine that handles calls always directs me to end the call and call back during open hours EVEN When it IS working hours. If this isn’t fixed soon I will be switching banks and taking my money elsewhere. So for new users that are serious about customer service and getting help asap I’m not sure this app or bank is for you.

Just when you think it’s good, it gets greater!. I’ve been with Varo for a year and a half now and couldn’t get any other bank to open an account for me because of past mistakes. (Yes they do come back to haunt you so stop making them) lol One of the easiest banks to work with and it’s helped out in so many other ways with sending money to my daughter when she needs help to sending checks to my son. ****** (Hoping checks come back soon) ****** Varo checks was the best part and now Varo helps with small loans in the checking department when needed. As long as this company stays online and open I’ll be a Varo customer until the internet gets unplugged lol I’d give Varo 10 stars if it was able to do so.

Loved This App, But Now Don’t Recommend. I loved this app, joined back when it was Varo Money. I have a collection of some their first ever debit cards and was thinking about getting the credit card. The saving and checking was awesome and worked just like a real bank but fully online. Even had mobile check deposit, disputes and direct deposits. It becoming Varo Bank made me leave my old bank. But now I cannot say that, in recent years they have been denying disputes for most customers even when it legitimate. I seen a lot people talk about this online as well. But I haven’t had to many issues but recently haven’t been using the account but made an order online I never got. I filed the dispute and got the money back but then they closed my account. I have never had an account closed for a dispute before! Idk what happened in the last year or so but Varo is gone down hill and would not recommend. I used to see a lot hate for Chime but it’s looking as good or better then Varo now so I might give it a chance. But idk will be using Varo again…

No good. This use to be a great bank 🏦 but not anymore, so apparently my account was reported from fraud locked 🔒 out and everything so I keep getting this notification every time I try to log back in that my account is under review and they’ll email me within 4 days I’m not understanding why is it 4 days so it’s going to take whatever u guys are up to try to find what the issue is and solve it well it’s been over 4 days…try calling the hotline there’s no option to speak 🗣️ to anyone also thanks for locking my account which I’m not able to chat 💬 live with anyone hadn’t I known this bank was going to be problem I never would’ve been so supportive on them receiving there charter it was fine the way it was now it’s just unorganized, I borrowed $50 for advance because I had direct deposit through u so do u guys think that I would really keep my direct deposit through u & than lock me out no thanks jokes on u guys good thing I had time to change it I’m always 2 steps ahead

This is honestly "VAR-Out" dudes!. Simply put, it's no hassle and a great main, or even back up, checking / checking + saving account based platform. Works as advertised and is as painless for me as they come. I have yet to have any issue with the service for over a year, I believe atleast a year if not two, and it's come in very handy on numerous occasions. Plus the straight forward "fee's (or lack thereof) and interest rates" are pretty nifty. Keep up the great service and I'll keep my eyes peeled for maybe some cool new features coming in future updates *hint *hint lol (but honestly, my only recommendation would be that we get to see you folks additing some cool new twists, bells, whistles and even small touches, even if for a test run. It's that extra special spice that keeps a service like Varo feeling just as fresh, and down to earth, as it was on day one.)

Poor choice to use. Takes almost an hour to reach customer service and then when you do they give you a two minute explanation hangup, forcing you to call back again and wait another hour if you enjoy wasting time on the phone, hoping and praying that they will answer at some point great card, they do not offer any reasons into any decisions they make regarding the card or your account they give no explanation why they close your account. They give no explanation as to what happens to the remaining funds in your account once it is closed, this overall is a very poor company very poor card to use. There are other cards out there that are much more friendlier much more convenient than Varo. There’s many good stories about this card but I’m sure there’s many others out there who just don’t wanna waste any more time on this card and leaving a review they figure let you find out the hard way I give it -5. Somebody really should call the Better Business Bureau and have this company reviewed.

Unprofessional. I had Varo for about 6 months now and they were great until they weren’t. I tried to mobile deposit a check from a new job and when signing it I ran out of ink and switched it. They denied my check and they just closed my account. No warning. No questions. I have proof and the company to verify the check was real and I don’t even have an option to appeal it. The money I had in there automatically got sent in check form that I will receive in 14 days … leaving me with nothing rn. They wouldn’t give me a straight answer on why the account was closed they just told me they can and will do it if they feel it’s necessary but no real reason why. It doesn’t make sense. On top of it, supervisor AJ, was rude and as I kept trying to ask him so I could understand why and what happened he told me he wasn’t going to go back and forth with me and explain it over and over again. No sympathy for the fact that I have no access to my funds at all. Feel just dumb for putting trust in this company.

Do not use Varo. Unless you don’t mind Varo holding double what you pay. I can’t even buy food for my family because I made a payment yesterday and they are holding double what the payment was. So I have no money for food. They said maybe 7 days it’ll be back in my account. What am I supposed to do for food for 7 days Varo? I hate this bank and the customer service is so bad. You can only chat with someone. You can’t talk to anyone ever. Worst bank ever. Do not use varo!!!!!!!!!! So now it’s 5 days after I made the first legit transaction and the 2 nd fraudulent transaction is still pending. The merchant says it’s the bank Varo says it’s the merchant. I’ve sent numerous emails to varo customer support. With zero response!!! Use any bank app besides Varo. Soon as this b.s. is settled I will never use Varo again. It’s been 6 days with no response from Varo. No response no nothing. Thanks for nothing Varo. No Varo I am not going to waste any more of my time trying to contact you. I will never use Varo again. Varo is the worst bank app available. DO NOT USE VARO !!!!

Worst bank. Had Varo set up autopay on their end and once my due date arrived. Loan balance has decreased after autopay kicked in, but some sort of glitch occurred. The amount due hasn’t deducted from my checkings account, but every time I make a purchase, the push notifications displays a whole different amount. Notifications and in app balance show different balances… called and waited two decades for them to answer and it’s been over a week, they still haven’t fixed it!!!! But WAIT THERE’S MORE…. Recently I experienced a unauthorized charge and filed a dispute… No provisional credit was given and will take nearly 2 weeks to receive my card compare to other banks…. Like I have bills to pay and they expect me to call back every time I need to make a payment or withdraw money…. Currently I have to wait greater than 60 MINUTES IN ORDER FOR THEM TEMPORARILY ACTIVATE MY CARD and withdraw money (im waiting by the atm for them to answer)…. THESE ARE THE PERKS OF NO FEES BANK!

No help until fraudulent charges are posted. I was happy with Varo until I suddenly had 4 charges from the Philippines post in 5 minutes. I immediately called customer service, and (after a good while on hold) was to,d nothing could be done until the charges showed as posted and were no longer in pending status. When I had a similar issue at PNC, they immediately refunded the charges to my account while they investigated, so my bills would still be paid. Not the case with Varo, so I will be returning to PNC. Very disappointing. Oh, and estimated hold time is 60 minutes, adding insult to injury. ***UPDATE*** Once I finally got through, the rep was helpful, and it only took a few minutes to file the dispute. Looks like I should be able to transfer funds from this account to my PNC account and use that card for funds. I guess if you have no other account, your money is just held hostage for a couple of weeks.

Try Wealthfront!. I would just like to say to everyone having a bad time with Varo (and there are a lot of them - sort the reviews by "Most Recent" to see users' *real* and current opinions of any app/service on the App Store) that they should try Wealthfront instead. Wealthfront is very professionally run, offers top-quality customer service with reps whose first language is English, and is affiliated with a real bank (Green Dot) to provide real banking features (including FDIC insurance, I believe). They also offer excellent robo-investing and the highest interest rate of any financial institution I've found since I opened my first bank account in the 1970s. I've been using Wealthfront for about a year and a half now and have never been so satisfied with any banking/fintech experience. I recommend them to everyone who'll listen. (And I'm not affiliated with Wealthfront in any way other than being a *very* satisfied customer.) 🙂🙏🏻

Perfect option for me, not perfect for everyone. I absolutely love this bank. In fact, it’s what I use on a daily basis. But what I don’t like is the lack of mortgages, check writing availability, and no credit card cash back rewards. Ok, maybe I’m going a bit far on the lack of cash back rewards on the credit card since it’s a credit builder card. I would just like more options for credit cards with this bank, kind of like Ally Bank has. Varo could have a credit builder card, with every feature and advantage it has already, then another credit card for more advanced people in the credit card world, where they could earn points and cash back rewards, just with a slight disadvantage of a credit inquiry. But other than that, great bank. I love the referral bonus, and the app design. I would 100% recommend this to my friends or family.

Definitely 5-Stars. There is nothing more than positive words about Varo. I have been a member since around 2018 and they have never let me down. Varo is definitely my go to bank, and I would not chose any other bank over them. They are extremely accurate with all transactions, eg. if you were to swipe your card at a gas pump outside, they typically pull out from $75-$100, let’s say you get $71 in gas. Some card holders, or banks, typically take an hour or so before they update your balance, and total of the transaction, well Varo probably takes if even 15 minutes to update all of that need-to-know info. Like I said before, there is nothing but positive things to say about Varo and trust me, this bank is definitely a 5-star bank.

Varo has the worst customer service ever. The absolute worst company to deal with. Waste management is about the best they get. They have been holding a hotel deposit for over thirty days. And also charged a transaction to my account that says it’s Varo initiated transaction. When I ask for details about why and what the transaction is for…. I receive the most generic answers. I have been asking them every day for 2 weeks. And still don’t know anything more then it was a transaction and that’s it. The chat support is such a headache I just use text to talk and ramble on and on because I doubt the support staff even knows how to read. It’s the same generic reply from them every time. It’s a worthless argument with them. I just want my money that is owed so I can close my account. I’m sick of hearing them say sorry. I just want to end my business relationship with them. Poor everything at Varo.

My experience within over a year with Varo. I’ve join Varo back in July or sometimes August of 2021. I don’t have much complaints with this mobile. It’s been consistent within the past year of me being a member. I noticed that I don’t get paid two days prior to my pay date and at times there are inconsistencies with receiving my deposit on time. Hopefully that it’s only a glitch in their system but it defeats the purpose of the early direct pay if my deposit is the day before my pay period or on the day of it. Also there’s not much led way with overdraft protection and advances. Once you’re late on payments you’re fully exempt from advanced in the future which makes me second guess if I need to switch banks. Those are the few concerns but when chatting with support about issues they are helpful and they make sure to solve your issues in a timely manner.

The Next Best Thing to Chime. Chime seems to beat out Varo at everything except the savings APY. I’ve been using Varo with direct deposit for about a month now. I do get my paycheck almost 6 hours earlier in the day than I did using chime so that’s a plus. But chime’s app design is better, offers credit builder credit card, and has support chat in the app. Honestly the only thing that I don’t like about this bank is that their app is so boring and simple. The GUI is about as simple as it gets. Grateful they included a balance widget at least for the Home Screen . I’m not extremely concerned though because Varo is a reputable bank but just created this new app to switch to a better banking system so I can’t to wait see what the future has in store for Varo. Please keep your customers satisfaction the number one goal for this bank and it will be better than chime.

Ok bank. I have used Varo for 4+ years the app works fine for the most part but the lack of real customer service and dispute system makes this bank questionable probably the worst any bank has to offer. The advance system is ok but miss your due date you will not be able to use it any more plus they will take your money to repay it no matter how much money is in your account I have filed one dispute in the past when the bank first started and i had no problem but my most recent experience was horrible basically was told that a over a 1,000 charge was made in my card with proof of refund it’s nothing that can be done even though it’s been over the waiting period for the funds Major banks have no problem returning your charges with no problem with proof but the Varo rep basically told me i had to wait a extra 10+ days for any thing to change

No fees, is misleading. Customer service online is very slow.. Saw Varo advertise no fee checking accounts. So I opened one and transferred some money to the account. Then I read the fine print. you are charged a fee to do cash deposits. I had emailed Varo about getting the card emailed to my PO Box. This was a major task. I never got the first card that was sent to my street address through USPS because I have a PO Box. Varo wanted a copy of the PO Box lease agreement even after I had sent a copy of my driver’s license. I sent them the lease agreement twice and didn’t hear anything for days. I had transferred money into the account over two weeks before. I don’t know what they needed but I called and told them if it was that big of a deal to close my account. They didn’t want me to, but after explaining it was really not a no fee account. They said they could send me a check for my balance and it would take two weeks. I liked the idea of Varo but I knew there had to be a catch and of course there was.

This is one messed up outfit. Any of the pluses for doing business with this bank you can get from other banks with way less haste. The $50 overdraft is a joke. Even if you pay it all back, it’s unavailable until the transactions that overdrew your account settle. I have never had a bank do this. My money frequently disappears and reappears a day or two later. I am pretty sure they take more than they show you when you use your card at a place that involves a tip. They won’t show you a running balance, so verifying this requires starting at your last statement balance and doing the math of all your transactions to see what they are shorting you. Really dishonest. If anything happens to your card, you lose it, they think it maybe compromised, they will shut it off immediately and make you wait two weeks for a new one to come in the mail. There is no way to access your money while they are doing this. The wait times when you ah e to call in are ridiculous. They cut off my card for fraud and I had to sit in hold for two hours to try to pay at 7 eleven. If you have to do a charge back, they won’t communicate with you at all through the process. No one will get on the phone with you and if you do speak to someone they will make you feel like a criminal when you’re the victim. Just choose another bank!!

Was good But Now…. I have been Using Varo since before the Change to Bank. I have enjoyed it. It has been easy to use and good customer service. Unfortunately lately I have had multiple fraudulent transactions coming out of my account. Locking my card did no good and the only way to deal with the issue is to call in and then have to wait for a whole new card. While I understand the process, it means all other deposits and transactions are now put on hold and just makes the process very tedious. As it will take more time to switch all things over to a new card as I wait for the Varo replacement. So no access to my funds. I do not use this card in person and I only use it in certain places online. I’m not happy with this security breach. Or the ways to handle it.

Technically disappointing. The bank was amazing for my first 5 years but the last year I have had many issues going on . First issue is I withdrawaled money from the atm and apparently they didn’t take it out of my account but almost 2 months later they decide to take it out of my account causing my account to go negative and they did nothing to correct this issue. Number two issue is my varo believe card went negative-117$ after I made my monthly payment pay off and I wasn’t able to use my account for over 7 months and they finally fixed the issue (on oct3rd22) it finally brought my account back to positive $ amount where they had finally fixed it. But is very disappointing they had not compensated me or done anything for me for being unable to use my credit card for over 7 months and that is very upsetting as my credit could have been raised tremendously..

Scam. They are really good at first but after a little bit of time you see all the signs of a scam. There just a better scam than the others. I’ve reported them in both play store and here and sent an referral to better business bureau. Now I’m contacting an attorney to see about starting a class action law suit. After reading other reviews I’m surprised I’m the first to draw attention to just how much money this company has gotten away with stealing from people. Seriously Apple look at the reviews, one after another says there money was taken and if they can reach anyone to discuss it there told that Varo can’t help out the blame is shifted. Amounts from $50 to over $1000 there should be better monitoring of stuff like this seeing as how if you call Varo the customer service rep will always tell you they can’t help and there is no extension for a supervisor or department they only deal with that stuff through automated emails.
