Engrossing game, but the lack of auto-save is a major issue.. This is a really cute game, and very engrossing. It takes a while to master the controls, and the various aspects of crafting, building, cooking, and so on. Teaching monkeys to do stuff for you also take a bit of trial and error. But before long—especially once you start finding a serious supply of metal ingots—you’re up and running. For those of us wishing Age of Empires had come to iOS, this isn’t a direct replacement, but it has that kind of feel to it. It also shares some similarities with Outlanders, which is another good game. However, Survivalists has combat, which gives it an edge as far as I’m concerned. Oh, and of course monkeys; who doesn’t like monkeys! But a *huge* downside is the fact that it doesn’t auto-save your progress. That, coupled with the game’s instability — in particular on a first gen iPad Pro, on which it crashes every few hours — means that although I like playing the game, it also makes me want to chuck my iPad against the wall every time I do [whatever random thing triggers a crash] and I realize I’d forgotten to save for a while. I’d give the game a full five stars in and of itself, but the frustrating need to manually save drops it down to three stars.

please update!. I want more updates to improve your game so it might get better reviews. I like this work very much but I also found some problems. The main problem is the short duration of the game, it only took me three days to unlock all the islands. I hope to update some new islands and props. The props in the game are too monotonous and difficult to collect, and some interesting content can also be added to the game. Love this game. I love this game! For me, it is the perfect balance between structure and free play. There’s just enough of a story/overall goal to keep me playing, but I don’t feel rushed to get there and have plenty of flexibility to explore and create along the way. I generally like the manual saves when I remember to use them strategically (not going to lie, there have been a few times where a strategically timed quit and reload has brought me back from the dead). However, as others have mentioned, the iPad version of the game seems to freeze and crash from time to time. I’ve had a few frustrating times where I haven’t saved recently and lost a lot of progress because I had to force quit the app and restart at the last saved point.

Seems to be fun, but it is frustrating. The game in itself show the potential of being a fun survival game, but the controls, at least on iOS without a controller, are frustrating to the point that I am going to wait for a few updates. First, the combat experience. I have no idea if I have to face the enemy, and if I do, that is going to be incredibly difficult. I just read a couple of reviews where they talk about “hit boxes”. Maybe I have to touch the enemy on the screen? If so, the basic combat tutorial is lacking of useful information. Second, the monkeys. I want to see which monkey has a certain tool, so I select one, and it’s the wrong one, so I need to exit from the monkey selection interface, the monkeys go their way, I need to remember which monkey I selected early, and try to select another one. That is because there is no way to deselect the monkey. Is that really supposed to be like this? Sounds like a bug. Also the training. Good luck training a monkey to combat while you are being hammered by something. Other minor points are related to crafting. I am trying hard to teach a monkey how to craft, but believe me, it is not an easy task. Overall I would like the game to be polished, but at this point is more frustrating than fun.

Couple of glitches. To start off on a good note, this games really fun. I would definitely play this more often if there wasn’t these few glitches. One of the glitches isn’t that bad, it’s when you get hit while crafting items. This glitch just doesn’t allow you to craft anything or touch anything; so just basically not being able to do anything. I found this out while being hit by a bat while crafting a rock. This glitch can be fixed by just exiting and entering the game. Another one is that whenever you exit the game while a tamed monkey that you have is holding a chest, I haven’t found out a way to get back the chest. I learned the hard way when I put all of my stuff in the chest. A minor issue is that day-night cycles won’t happen if you quit the game and load back in while sailing in a boat. I would love to keep playing but the chest disappearing while the monkey was holding it was just a major turn off for me.

Game freezes, Save corrupted. Had to start over.. I’d been playing this game for a while and had progressed through multiple islands. The game starts to freeze after a while. I got good at saving after making any important progress (ditto other reviewers, the lack of an auto save is super annoying) but when it would freeze, I would have to close out to get the game to be playable again. This could happen multiple times a day, especially at night for some weird reason. The last time this happened I logged back in to see that the data in that game had been corrupted and the only option was to override my saved game. I hoped this meant that it would override the last save but NOPE it deleted all game data. I am deleting this game. That was way too much work to start again from the beginning. I suggest that if you choose to download, try to become less invested in your progress in case you have to start over.

Amazing gameplay but lacking integral feature. This game is amazing and I have been loving playing it for the past week but I am writing this review to talk about the issue in there being no auto saving. Just today I spent about 8 hours grinding the game finally making massive amounts of progress just for my game to crash before I could save on my iPhone 11. All the progress is entirely gone now. In a game like this the inability to save unless you are at a bed and the fact that it doesn’t automatically save anything at all royally messes you up with how often the game unexpectedly crashes. The fact that I have lost all that progress leaves me feeling like I don’t want to play the game at all anymore unfortunately :(

The monkeys need work and auto save. Once you teach a monkey you should be able to put them in say combat mode or collect mode...etc. It is not even fun to try to teach them stuff all the time. Also being able to hold only 1 item is not good. Let them hold a weapon and have a small backpack that you craft for them. Let them hold like 3-4 items and a weapon. Also trying to manage weapons on them is just rediculous. They break mid battle and then your done.... you have to run and hopefully can save your monkeys. Not sure how this has 4 stars. graphics are nice but gameplay needs work. Attacing is not fun. Its hard to just hit things with bow, spear....club seems to be the best. I will check back in a couple months but not fun to play currently. Autosave and maybe check points.....required! and faster saves

Must have for Apple Arcade. I’ve been a subscriber of Apple Arcade since day one, waiting for the first “must have” app. This is it! Full to form action survival game with high quality graphics and easy to use multiplayer. If you’ve been waiting to jump on Apple Arcade, this title may sway your mind. Plus it has monkeys.. monkeys you can put cute hats on and give them any fur color. You can customize your character with several different unique hairstyles, colors and accessories (including beards). The crafting system is in depth, with a blueprints system similar to that of the forest.

It is fun until the game does things you do t expect.. I was enjoying playing the game and had to get used to the lack of auto-save. There were a couple of times when I did not sleep to save and that got a little frustrating in the beginning when I was surviving bucks with a hand axe. All good, we got through it. I got better and had a stash at home of all the foods and gold ingots and everything. It was fun. Then I read in the app that you could give a monkey a chest and take it all with you! Awesome! No more super long trips there and back. I save the game and then went out. I fought a buck and won but had to leave the game. Saved it via the pause button and then went about my way. When I got back my chest was gone from my monkey and all of the things I had purchased from mystery guy and food I had prepared and so on. That was so frustrating. To do all of that and then lose it somehow for no reason?! If this is how the game is supposed to work for the “survival” aspect then wow that’s very realistic, but being that when I have a chest and save the game and then come back to no chest, it doesn’t seem like that’s normal game play. It’s a fun game but the saving aspect is weird or maybe I just don’t know where my monkey buried the chest?

The bugs when you die need to be fixed!!!!!. First off I absolutely love this game. Amazing concept and just a all around great game. That said there are two huge issues with this game. The first is like everyone else is saying. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN AUTO-SAVE!!!!!!! I can see where the devs were going with immersion in this survival space . The force manual saves will make things feel more ‘hardcore’. But it comes off as just plain annoying and tedious. Like please devs, please, just listen to your fan base. It’s a quality of life feature that just makes sense. The second and honestly bigger issue with this game is the clearly game breaking bug of when you die there is a 75% chance your character can keep walking oddly, then faints, respawn in the bed at camp, but is still locked in the “fainting” animation. the player is unable to move or save in this state. Which then makes it a game breaking bug. Because the only way to ‘fix’ it is to relaunch the app. Which as you know from my early comment, means you have just now lost all of your progress from your last save. Which results in some annoying unneeded rage quits. Please keep up the hard work on this title, and please fix the bug.

Solid game but needs work. I love the content there’s so much to do but I have a few problems with the gameplay. First is monkeys doing damage, when I set my Monkeys to attack they barely do any damage, the only benefit of having them attack is reduced durability usage and extra stun for me to hit the enemy, I seriously think you should buff their damage a little bit. Maybe not as much as it used to be where you could have 3 monkeys and dominate anything but still enough to where they actually help kill the enemy in battle. 2. The secondary islands are very difficult, they have enemies that seem like they are for the mid to late game and when you need to travel between islands to progress , it’s hard to get a foothold when one attacks you and you can’t do enough damage back. 3. Npcs, I like what you did with npcs but I think a good idea is being able to make a shelter for them so when you visit them you can take them back to your base and keep them there without needing to travel within islands each time you want to talk to one. There’s also a glitch where a monkey will get randomly stranded out at sea leaving you one monkey down and it’s happened to me several time hindering my progress greatly. And 4. Just the saving times are way too long I feel like saving takes forever and since there is no auto save I can’t do anything while it saves, same for sleeping, it takes too long.

Great game just a few quirks. Really good game honestly great art style but the only issues I found are the monkeys and combat system the monkeys are usually not very helpful it took me a bit to figure out how I could orientate them then once I found out I didn’t use it much. Another thing is that the combat is pretty difficult when you attack you can’t move for a brief period of time so while you are stuck in the attack animation the enemy you are attack has already moved and attacked you from behind I think adding movement as you attack would be good. The last thing is that I would recommend playing with a controller 1 it’s easier to use (for me at least) 2 it leaves more screen just playing on mobile there is quite a lot of screen clutter with buttons and whatnot. Overall a really solid game. Ps. I would definitely integrate auto saving me and a lot of other players would really appreciate it

I got a new game idea and if you want you can create it. This is the list it’s where you’re a civilian like in the escapist two back in the escapists two I’m not asking an update for the escape it’s too by the way where do you even go go be the same difficulties in the escape is to buy a little different easy is when the police try tries to get you but feels very less damage if you end up in prison prisoners opinion of you is very high if you end up in prison this will be just like the escapist two work medium is when guards are attacking you their attack is the more buff buff to then when in easy mode hard mode is when guards are buffed and if you don’t have some sort of armor they can to shot you and their opinion of you is very low or just low but you can choose to be a good person or bad person in that you’re the best developer ever if you make this civilianist game And depending on what how bad the crimes were it will be more harder to escape the prison meaning it have a lot more security and eventually you won’t get released till just take a long time but the tip depending on what crimes there is that you did so if you want you can create the game but if you create the game you’re the best developer ever

I love the game but…. Ok so I love the game I’ve played the game for quite a while until my Apple Arcade subscription ended then I had to delete all of the Apple Arcade games I downloaded on my phone. Then, a couple months after my Apple Arcade subscription ended I got it again then I was so excited to play this game again but then when I downloaded it and then it finished downloading then I launched the game and it went to loading and… It never finished loading. So I tried deleting my save because I thought it was because of my save so I went to my ICloud and deleted my save then I tried again still never finished loading so I tried deleting the game and downloading the game again and it still never finished it’s loading please fix the bug I want to play the game again.

Absolutely wondertastaciful (that’s a word right?). When I got this game I thought ‘Oh its probably going to be just like Minecraft and I will delete it soon after trying the game.’ But it was fantastic. The concept is great and it really puts into perspective “if I was stranded on a deserted island...” but also adds the element of fantasy and its just the perfect balance. Now the other reviews said that it’s annoying that you cant get rid of blueprints and I haven’t come across that issue yet but it does certainly seem like that would need some tweaking. Its a great game over all and I love it so here’s a big thank you from a big fan.

Excellent game despite a bumpy launch. This dev team has a solid track record. This will likely be their most popular title yet. Is it good? Yes, very. A very fun little survivor game with only a few noticeable bugs that don’t hinder the experience and will probably be squashed within a week. I have about 8hrs into the game so far and I can’t put it down. I play with a Razer Kishi controller and it works perfectly. Apple Arcade and a Kishi with titles like this and the ability to roam between devices makes for a pretty sweet gaming experience! I keep telling my friends to watch out for Arcade and iOS 14. On PC and PS4 this title is $25 and you can’t put it in your pocket so... keep the titles coming Apple!

Great Game! Just a few little dislikes…. When I first downloaded this game before the recent update, I loved EVERYTHING about it! I loved how you could name monkeys, train them to fight, craft, build, explore and plunder labyrinths (they are tricky, though) and make food. Then the update came. I enjoy the larger inventory space, new recipes and weapon upgrades. Here are some of my dislikes: 1. You increased some of the common recipe items, like for example, I could make one meat kabob with two pieces of meat before the update. Then it came and now I need FOUR? 2. Because of the increased the needed items for hay bales, rope and other things, I am struggling to survive and make the right materials for things. Fix the bugs. First of all, I really like the game, but there are a few painful bugs and some UI issues. First and foremost, the game crashes pretty constantly. I’m playing on the iPhone 8 with plenty of storage, nothing running in the background, etc. I don’t have a problem with lack of autosave, especially when you can save anywhere in pause menu but when it crashes things can go really bad. Not only do you lose your progress, but monkeys become untrained and chests can disappear. Like literally gone. I bought a special chest from the trader and had a monkey carrying it with some really valuable stuff in it, game crashed, rebooted game and it’s just gone. Pretty frustrating tbh. The UI issues are; selecting/controlling monkeys can be frustrating, fighting can be weird if you spam the attack button and torch placement. Only other problem is lack of doors and gates unless I just haven’t unlocked them yet (which would be weird because I have almost unlocked all crafts and blueprints) 5 stars if/when these are corrected.

A fun adventure. So, I started playing a few days ago. I took it slow and steady the first couple of days. Seemed fun enough, then I started playing a little more and a little more until I was constantly playing. The game is like escapists. It has a terraria art style to it which is kind of nice. There is a depth to the game that I feel I just began to reach. It definitely has a terraria vibe to it. For those not familiar with terraria, think of Minecraft with 8 bit pixel art. Game play has been smooth, I have been saving every chance I can get more from fear of death than anything else. I am using an iPhone 11 pro max to play and my Xbox controller which has been nice. You don’t lose any screen real estate.

Amazing, even better with controller. I love it! I’ve been playing almost non stop since 9am when it came out yesterday. Once I figured out the trick to pass a chest to a monkey, I’ve been moving my camp all over! Suggestion to any struggling ... hard reset your device. I have a 2018 iPad Pro and did a hard reset. Note to developer ... one bug, every time I visit mysterious stranger, I lose the prompt above my items in the different menus. Thus I can no longer see what the names are nor how much they cost to make. I have to exit game, close it and reset it and then everything comes back. Otherwise ... LOVE IT!

AWESOME! But needs some tweaks…. I LOVE THIS GAME SOOOOO MUCH AFTER THE UPDATE! When the game first published, it was trash (No offense) and nothing with my monkeys works! But now it’s awesome!!! Now here’s some tweaks you should make so the game gets BETTER! First of all, when I’m playing, the music is…. Islandy and nice to listen to. But I want to listen to some MUSIC WITH WORDS IN THEM!!! Because I’m playing music, and as soon and I get on survivalist, THE MUSIC JUSTS StOP. I tried everything in the settings, and nothing works. Please fix this, cuz I’m sure other people want to listen to their own music while playing. Second of all, MULTIPLAYER. It’s been a whole year, and I’m above a decade old! AND I STILL CANT PLAY MULTIPLAYER!!! I desperately want to play with my brother and my cousins, BUT I CANT BECAUSE OF THE FLIPPING AGE RESTRICTIONS! so please fix it. PLEASE

Ups and downs to manual saving. First off AMAZING Game. Really fun but I’m always a scardy cat in games like this so I’m still in the noob phase. But one of the things i have mixed feelings about is the manual saving. A big pro is one time i went on an expedition to another island for iron with my only monkey trained in weapons, and when I got back my house got raided and like half of it was gone except the walls All of the furniture was gone. Luckily I had not saved the game on my expedition so I just left and came back and waited the raid out. Really helpful in this scenario. But the con side is if I die/leave the game with all my progress, I lose what I got in that play session. And if I cant reach a bed when i have to go ill be in big trouble. So Maybe add a game setting option. Like when u make the game. It has the ability to... Turn off raids or... turn on auto save, Change the abundance of resources on the islands. That would be a lifesaver. It’s a win win for the people who want the manual saves and for the people that don't. Think about it. Again, Love this game and I cant wait to see whats next! -WyzWa

Please undo update (kind of). When I saw this app in “recently updated”, I was very excited. The first update you did was masterful, making survival both easier and more exciting. But this time was different. I saw that there were taskmasters (cool) and trinkets (cooler) and PETS! (super amazing). I then skimmed the part about “bread crumb trails” and “levels” (kind of) and bombs, and taking stuff to your new islands, thinking it didn’t matter, but it did when I got on and saw that you completely broke my favorite game. I chose not to get a boost, because I like building my camp, inventory and monkey army from the ground up. Then I got to the part where you totally miss the point of an open world game. The whole world isn’t supposed to be leveled, and you should be able to explore islands freely, at your own pace. I also quickly learned that near my camp there was a monster camp that is very hard early in the game. Also, one of my favorite things about the old version is that I can explore caves freely, without having to get a bomb. I know that you worked hard on the update, and I know that you were trying to make the game better, but can you please at least just make features optional in settings. Please?🥺

Very fun! Until... I would love to give this game 5 stars or more but twice I’ve played this game for hours on end. Out of nowhere after saving mind you. I have a message saying the last save file was corrupted and cannot be loaded… twice… after discovering all the islands, building up my base, taming animals, exploring all the labyrinth’s. Gone.. so much time wasted and I will NEVER get all that time and progress back. Not once but twice this has happened after saving. The second time was immediately after I regenerated worlds with all the stuff I worked so hard to acquire and bring from my last base.. x99hardwood slabs x99 metal sheets & nails etc etc.. I would recommend this to others but I couldn’t let another person experience such sudden depression like I have on multiple occasions.. I’m at the point of just getting rid of the game but it’s a great time killer. Maybe I’ll wait for another update 😔

Love the game, but it crashed for me. This is an amazing game that definitely deserves 5*. Sadly however I was playing my world when the app crashed, and now when I try to re open the game it just loads forever... It still gets 5* because I think the bugs can be fixed, and the actual gameplay is fun. Would definitely recommend. EDIT: I tried everything, even deleting the app and all its data, but ever since that crash the app just infinitely loads. I’m keeping my 5* review because the game is that good, and I’m holding out hope the devs will fix this bug that won’t let me play... super annoying

Underrated. I love this. I have a feeling this gets a low rating because of the difficulty curve, but anyone who’s managed Dont Starve should be able to play this. It trims a lot of the tedious fat off the core crafting/survival game genre. When I come back from an expedition and dump my entire inventory on the floor, just to have it picked up and sorted by my monkeys is VERY gratifying. Arming two monkeys with swords and watching them rip apart anything that comes near me is SO entertaining. I had to come and give this a 5 star review. When I saw this was going for $40 on the Switch, I thought it was crazy, but when you start to understand the depth, that price tag makes sense. Most enjoyable thing on the apple arcade for me so far. Major props to the team and designers on this one.

Amazing game, cannot find the mysterious stranger for the life of me. I LOVE this game. The amazing graphics and design really make the game shine, and I think the lore makes everything more mysterious and enticing to play. However, I have explored 4 islands, have full iron tools and 2 teleporters and have found 2 labyrinths yet the mysterious stranger is nowhere to be found. That means I can’t explore labyrinths, and it is making me lose interest in the game very fast. I really want to complete it and find out it’s secrets, but I feel like there is no way to do it. I it is not like I haven’t tried to find the mysterious stranger. I have searched all the islands I have found countless times, and have found nothing. To sum up: amazing masterpiece of a game, but hard to enjoy knowing there is a piece of the puzzle missing.

Stuck on load screen, many glitches. This game has the potential to be a lot of fun to play; unfortunately the Apple Arcade version suffers from numerous glitches that cause players to constantly lose progress and makes the game almost unplayable. I wouldnt mind the “save using a bed” feature at all if it wasn’t for the app often crashing right before I’m able to get to one. I’ve poured hours into this game, yet have made very little progress due to the app crashing about every 20 to 30 minutes. And as of this morning it looks like I’ve lost all of my save data bc the app is stuck on the load screen. It’s really frustrating to have spent so much time on this game and to have been so patient with it’s glitches, only to now be unable to access my save file. I feel bad leaving a poor review bc I can tell that the developers poured a lot of time & love into this title. The game really does have a lot of fun world exploration and tons of potential. So I would definitely be willing to try playing again in the future and to update/change my review to a more positive one if the devs are able to get these bugs get worked out.

Great game. Needs work. The only reason to save in this game is because it freezes a lot and you lose your progress if you don’t. I think there needs to be a fix for that. It freezes in many different areas of game play. Fighting, opening chest, crafting, teleporting, gathering, walking!! 2 hours in, and bam! Frozen. Need to close the app and restart it only to do the same exact thing for the next 2 hours. Don’t get me wrong, the game is great and I enjoy it. I just wish that I didn’t have to save every 10 minutes scared the game is going to freeze. You can die and wake up in your bed with a marker of where you died, or wake up on the edge of the island with a marker of where you died so you can retrieve all of your items.

Great game. Love this game but there are some glitches. Like one time I went to open my chest and then it just disappeared. I had to exit without saving to get it back so I lost some of the stuff I had done and had to do it all over again. Also the monkeys could use some work. I don’t like how you have to retrain your monkeys to fight every time you go into the game. All the other monkeys keep their jobs except the fighters. It’s really annoying. Also for some reason I just have a piece of wood on the ground in my base that I can’t pick up and when one of my monkeys picks it up he doesn’t do anything with it and I can’t take it from him unless I trade something with him. I also wish the labyrinths and vaults gave you more of a variety of stuff, it seems like they only give you flimsy or sturdy tools and rope, planks, mud, and bones unless you get to the end so it’s kinda useless to loot more than once. I do like everything else tho. Wish you could cross play with mobile and console and also I wish you could split screen on console. Hope you update soon. Looooove this game!!!! Also love manual save, once you get used to it. Please don’t take it away, manual save rocks!!!!!!!!!

Great game but a serious problem. I loove this game and it’s one of my favorites. The only problem I have with this game is the saving progress and monkeys. I had 4 moneys with me on a new island. Three were trained to fight and the 4th was carrying a chest. I saved the game through the menu, got off and then got back on the game. When I got back on my monkeys were all untrained. This had happened to me a couple times before and it’s starting to get frustrating to where I do not want to play this game anymore. One time when I had to retrained my monkeys I ended up dying and lost my materials on a whole new island. Another thing is that trying to train monkeys get a little annoying when other monkeys are close or on top the one you’re trying to train. I wish there was a way that you can make monkeys stay in a spot without them unmimicking their skill. But honestly that saving progress thing need to be fixed. Its very annoying

Over all the game is really fun just the fact that you can have monkeys that do everything you do is amazing even tho you have to pay 5 bucks A month it’s ok I love these game and I hope there well be new tools in the future along with more islands to explore bc I did like all the islands and if there r new islands added it well change everything and the raids need to be a little bet easier bc I had got killed and had to go back to my other save but I was prepared that time and didt die so if the raids r Easier that would have over all great game didt think it would be this good 10/10

Nice.. This game has beautiful graphics despite it being 2D and Pixelated. I’d play for hours if I could of course I’ve got the kids so that would be impossible without “can I have a snack” or “I’m hungry” or “play with me”. My second oldest also likes this game. She had so much progress as well. She had 2 monkeys and found the mysterious trader. She had a house, a boat, and even a strategy for raids! But it doesn’t have auto save. And when she hit the jackpot… It was time to eat supper. So, I turned the iPad off and swiped out of the applications. But I didn’t know she was playing that. After supper and after they asked me for dessert, she tried to play the game again. But, she was back at her base and did not have all of the new items and map discovered. She was sad. But I kept playing the game. I always make sure to save the game before the kids play my phone. Their is a save game when you go to bed (I always choose sleep and save). And also one on the main menu. Their are a lot of complaints about this “what if I don’t want to leave my ‘adventure’?” Just use save on the menu.

Great - for Singleplayer. I have been playing this game for a while now, I got it when it first came out. Minus the bugs here and there that were already fixed with the updates, it’s really fun. Then I tried playing with my friends. The multiplayer connection is crap. I connect with everyone through Game Center and hit play. Then the game says session not found when Game Center said connected. Big issue there considering multiplayer can be a big help to this game. I would rate it five stars, but the multiplayer is the only problem other than that, splendid game! I love the labyrinths, monkey helpers, realistic amount of materials for building a house, and the ability to let monkeys do almost everything for you. All in all, I’d rate the game 4.4 stars.

Fantastic game except the crashing without saving. If this game auto saved it would be 10/5. The gameplay and character development is top notch. I love how the graphics are pixelated while still having good cinematics for battle and all around workings. The issue I have is the same as everyone else’s, the saving. You get so enveloped in the game that you forget to save every 5 min. It’s nice that when you die there is a marker and you can go collect your items…but that only works if you die. I’ve been playing this game for all of maybe 8 hours and I’ve had the pleasure of the game crashing before I could save…6 freaking times! DEVS: I can get over the lack of auto save if you kept your game from crashing all the time. If I have to save every 5 min to prevent a loss from a random glitch, I’m already over it. There are too many games on the App Store to waste time on a game that doesn’t have a massive bug worked out before they start adding more stuff.

Fantastic game, please read. i don’t play many games in general anymore nor do i ever write a review for one but this game is so underrated. for starters, many of the other reviews are about bugs and glitches. i started playing this game on my phone then switched to the mac. i haven't had any bugs/glitches on either devices so i’m assuming that’s all fixed. for my people that have played Minecraft and Terraria, this is a game you should definitely try. although i loved to play those games, i got tired of constantly going out to mine and get materials on my own. it took way to much time and overall not much to do. Which were the main reason why i quit playing them. i think what makes this game better than others is that you can get your monkeys to do things for you. They can build blueprints, craft items, collect items, add items to the blue prints, farm, and even help you mine for materials. which makes it go by so much faster. While they do those things, you can be exploring or doing things you want to do. This game is well thought out and there’s a wide variety of things to do and craft. Definitely one of the best games (especially for the iPhone) that i’ve ever played.

Fun eventually kinda. it's not a bad idea or game. Makes no sense at first. Complicated tutorial. Didn't expect a raid randomly and had no idea or warning there would be one. Save. Craft everything you can. Keep money around with weapons. Teaching mines to craft is useless. They only do it once and only if you manually out items in it so it's pointless. If there's an auto way to do it I haven't figured it out and played for hours. I only recently realized there are other islands around your island. You shouldn't have to look up how to play a game online to play a game. The game should be clear and concise that an audience younger than the target could do it. I have experienced the glitch where it freezes on you. Super depressed and angry. Hours of play wasted.

Just read my review I don’t have a title 😂. Sooooo I got this game because I thought it would be so much fun but at first I didn’t know anything! I looked up how to get the monkeys out of there cages and how to open chests and they both said I have to use a weapon but the thing is....HOW DO I GET A WEAPON!!! I’m sure you probably have to fight but how do I do that without a weapon and I am terrible at fighting games. I think will be fun once I get the hang of it but they should put the rules on how to get a weapon on there Ok so the next day I figured out that you can craft a weapon and this game is really fun so pls play it. Detailed review of Survivalists I guess…?. Ok, so if you are looking at reviews seeing if you want this game or not, read this. You begin the game on a randomly generated island, with a raft that contains a few supplies. You begin to explore, and after a LOT LOT LOT of crafting, you begin to make your base. After that is done, (mostly) you leave the familiarity and safety of your base and starting point and explore. You collect resources, start a VERY long pursuit of the Mysterious Stranger, you kill one bird and think: “Cool meat!” Then the rest of the flock attacks you. After getting out of that, you find dungeons, (or catacombs idk what they’re called) and solve puzzles and kill orklings, and maybe even find monkeys to help you with fighting, collecting recourses, and…dancing. This is as far as I got, maybe you will get farther. Bye!

But I just want you to add local multiplayer, because of my age restrictions, I’m not able to play with my friends. So, when you get the chance, please add local multiplayer. But make sure that it doesn’t have age restrictions please! Also, there is a glitch when if I go to the mysterious shop, I can’t see the materials I need to craft stuff, and then I also can’t see what my emotes say, and Last but not least, I can’t see what the cost is for items in the mysterious shop. Awesome game but a few concerns. I wanted this game before the Apple version came out and finally I got it. I played, I loved and cherished the game. Recently I saw that a farming update came out and I hope that they do it for this version. A few problems are that the game causes raids and your on another island on the other side of the map. They should happen when your close to your island. Another thing is the speed of the rafts. They go very slow and I hope there is a way to make them go faster in the future. Finally, they should add a small storage space like in Minecraft. I would recommend to make it at least 12 squares of storage so you can have more items and put them in your hot bar. I might be asking a lot but I want this game to grow. This game can be game that gamers can cherish and feel like they’re in a adventure that is breathtaking. Thank you team 17 for making this game.

5 star gameplay, 1 star reliability. I’ll make this short. Love the game, could spend hours a day on here if I didn’t have to work. The game itself is not the most player friendly (meaning it takes a while to understand all the items and crafting) but once you have that down it’s insanely fun. You’ll never be “too OP” in my opinion because you don’t have armor so you can still die with all the best items if you play it poorly. I love that. And it takes many hours to find everything in the game, I still haven’t figured everything out! 5 star content for sure. Unfortunately, as I’ve noticed in other reviews, there’s a 1 star aspect. That is saving and crashes. I’ve lost 3hours of work, an entire island of exploration and many other things due to playing without sleeping. It’s a pain for me to build a bed when I’m exploring somewhere new so I forget sometimes. Assume your game will crash. And always have a bed for exploring. It’s a sad reality for this game right now. Ps: money could be better implemented, there doesn’t seem to be much of a point for it besides buying keys. And the 50g random items don’t ever really seem worth putting in your inventory because you gain plenty of gold by just playing. They should increase the amount maybe then it’ll be worth picking up. Watch some how-to vids and save often. I actually tried this game, couldn’t do much of anything after about an hour, and got killed by bats or orcs, and just went on with, my life. Months later, I returned to it, and I managed to figure out how the gameplay was supposed to go. My first suggestion is to watch some videos on how to get started in the game to avoid the frustration I had. The second suggestion is to save fairly frequently. The iPad version has a bug where, after about an hour, the UI will just freeze, and you can’t do anything but kill the app and start over from your last save. You can only save when you’re in a bed, so, suggestion 2b) carry bed components (the comfy padding and the makeshift bedsheet) with you when you sail to other islands. Build a bed there as soon as you can, sleep, and save. Suggestion 2c) since you can’t save inside of a labyrinth (and they’re a lot of time and effort to get through), and because the UI hangs seem to happen after a while of gameplay, save and quit the app right before venturing to a labyrinth, so that you have minimal risk of the app locking up right when you’re getting near the final part.

Masterpiece but needs touch ups. This game is a masterpiece but there are a few problems that need to be addressed. First one is obvious being monkey controls. That needs to be refurbished with something more simplistic. Maybe instead of drag to select, implement a system to tap a monkey and or use the diary to select an action for them. Second. Hit boxes. I can’t stress enough how many times I’ve struck an enemy and they took no damage, especially boars. As for the attack action we noticed if you press it a couple of times there is a delay which causes you at most times to strike making you vulnerable. For instance, pressing the attack button 3 times quickly will cause your character to swing 3 times while spamming the dodge button only to keep swinging. We know the game has just been released and don’t get me wrong this is probably the best mobile survival game out in the App Store. Hopefully in future updates you will add more craftable items and structures. As for now a touch up on controls would be great.

Great game. The survivalist a very good game. I’ve always love survival games they’re a little bit tricky for me but I still like them and just Apple Arcade itself is just awesome it gives us access to many more games I have a few other games on the Apple Arcade and they’re very fun. ok, let’s get back to the survivalist's a very good game and I love how you can train monkeys that part is funny and the monkeys can do stuff for you so you don’t have to do it and I like how it’s all set up and you can craft many things like a bed and campfire stuff like that and how do you can explore find new things and that night I’ve seen bats and I’ve gone into a cave once and there were people that tried to kill me and that’s how I almost died and I’ve defeated a shark it was very tricky but I deleted it and got some meat which was cool and the monkeys can do stuff like craft stuff for you and coot and another stuff like that ok, let’s wrap things up by saying how great of this game is and all the others the survivalist is a very very great game and whoever made this game thank you for making such a good game.

This is was a great Game! Until.... I started this game as soon as it came out on Arcade. And I loved it, and I played for four weeks straight. Four weeks straight, seriously. Then at the end of that said fourth week, I was playing, and remembered to save, which is the annoying part of the game. I’ll say now, anyone who likes Minecraft, this is the game for you. But the problem was, the saving. If you don’t save every 5 or 10 minutes to be safe, you can lose a lot of progress. But as I was saying, I had a TON of stuff after 4 weeks. I had everything gold I had explored almost every island, had two of the legendary weapons or something, and 20 monkeys, fully all trained, and I had gold swords, spears, and sharp axes. Then when I went to save, I pressed save, and then it kicked me out of the game. I went back in and lost 3 weeks of progress. I was back to 8 monkeys, a handful of nearly broken clubs, and one axe, and I didn’t have any thing else. It was extremely frustrating. I called support, and see if they could reboot my account, or maybe give me stuff I asked for. Nothing. They didn’t help. Don’t even start this game. I really don’t want anyone else feeling the depression and stress and desperation I felt, after I lost probably 60 hours of continuous work. I could have done a lot of other stuff, and I felt like I lost a part of my life I couldn’t get back. Don’t get.

Great game but. I love this game. It's very fun to play and you can enjoy it for hours. My problem is that one it lags. It doesn't lag during the game but rather has random weird glitches like the monkey running away from the raft and them racing to catch up. Another problem is freezing. During the beginning of the game there I none but when I was progressing there would freeze and I couldn't do anything about it but close out the app and lose my progress. This freezing issue is what made me have a problem with no auto-saving option. Everything else is pretty good so far and I genuinely do love this game but if this freezing persists it could definitely become a dealbreaker.

People can be haters also.. For some reason people say this game is “AWFUL TERRIBLE VERY GLITCHY AND BAD.” But those people who probably play on a phone 5 or something. good game not at all mobile supported. it’s actually so buggy. my universal chest despawned when i saved my gave in the bat dungeon and it had literally all of my valuable loot. i can’t access it until i buy another chest and i’m not sure if u can buy two in the same world i have to go check but regardless it’s too frustrating. don’t allow monkeys to carry chests if you can’t handle programming how to save what’s in the chest that monkeys holding. it just shows incompetent development in a half effort money grab attempt at a mobile game port. it honestly just looks bad for the development team overall i wouldn’t want to come back to their games knowing the blatant bugs. additionally the monkey targeting in the monkey menu is inaccurate i catch myself having to attempt 2-3 tries in picking one individual monkey because it targets 2-3 money’s per click because they default into coming so close together yet the touch targeting registers in such a fat radius that it’s extremely difficult not to target 2+ monkeys at a time when you intend to click one unless you happen to be on an ipad

Got Apple arcade just to play this in multiplayer. All reviews for this game state it is multiplayer for iOS, including Q&A on Apple’s own sites. And yet again…. doesn’t work on iOS. Even the game description here on arcade states single player. How about making iOS experiences better Apple before we all abandon this platform altogether, because currently iOS is a waste of time for gamers

Co-op issue. I love the game so far, the only issues is that when I try to play co-op, like host or find a game, there’s nothing, and the game constantly says it’s in offline mode, which doesn’t make any sense. I’ve found next to no answers or others having this problem, and an answer would be appreciated.

Can’t play with my kids. Really annoying that this game limits the ability to do multiplayer with my kids. It says they can’t do multiplayer due to age restrictions. Very frustrating, since so many other games my kids have (especially from Apple Arcade) let me play with them.

Amazing Game!. This game is great. It has lots of adventure, survival and discovery. It sometimes reminds me of Minecraft. This game is super fun, but I have found one pretty annoying bug. Can’t play podcasts while playing.. When I saw this game in the coming soon section I was very excited. It looks exactly like something I’d love. However immediately after launching the game I found it it wouldn’t allow me to keep playing my podcast in the background. An an individual with ADHD, this makes the game more or less unplayable for me. That’s incredibly disappointing. I’m not a game dev so I don’t know what goes into whether or not a game can have Spotify or podcasts running the the background but I do know almost all of the games I play do allow it. That this game doesn’t allow it is a deal breaker. For me it’s unplayable. So 1/5.

Good, but commonly crashing. I loved this game, but there was a few times when the game crashed, for example: I found a new island with tonnes of gold when the game crashed😑. I didn’t mind that before but what happened next, was even worse: I looked at my slot and it was corrupted😡😤! I was using this game for more than a month and got really upset when all of my progress was deleted!!!! Other than all of that, the game was beautiful and had wonderful graphics. So 3 stars.

Unable to start game. I got this game when it came out and I loved it. When I saw it had been updated I wanted to come and play again, but I am not complete unable to start the game. I get to the black loading screen with the two monkeys/two goblins/skeleton pirate and the tips down the bottom, and the game does not progress from there. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but that hasn’t helped.

Whyyy. I regenerated my world and forgot to take my multi tool. I can’t save. I regenerated because I want to restart. GUESS WHAT? There are 0 ways to make another world. One world that’s it. So when you regenerate the world and forget to take your multi tool with you. There is nothing you can without you feeling depressed next time because the people who created this were idiots and there is no way back to get a multi tool and the idiots who made this never even played this it is obvious that the creators don’t know who to make a game. Yes every game has bugs in it, that shouldn't stop you from doing everything else. I am sure the app will launch and it's a fix that'll happen sonner rather than later. 5 star to you people. I am addidected to the game. I'd request something though, I'd rather buy this game for my ps4 than Arcade. The cost just doesn't line up unfortunately! If this game was on the app store for 50$ even, I'd be comfortable buying it. But just paying 7.99 every month means that I'll spend 80$ playing this game for a year.

Crash bugs.... Hi team17! I have been waiting for this game for a while and I am really enjoying it! Everything is good! Except two things. firstly, this game is riddled with crash bugs. So, I can be exploring a cave, finally getting my hands on some metal ingots and then the game crashes. These crashes are becoming more and more common (I.E, now it is crashing when I load up the game) so could you fix this please? Secondly, the saving system. It is very awkward to use and I was wondering if an auto saving system could be put in place. So, this game is good, I just want those things fixed.

Good game but. OK so I don’t know where to put a report for a bug but for some reason sometimes your monkeys just fly across the map and go to random places and then sometimes they get stuck in the water too and I have to reload my last save

I’m speechless. I love this game there is so much to do and collect and explore. I love having my best friends as a bunch of monkeys. It is so funny every time my monkey gets mad because he does not have any more work. I would love it if our monkeys could hang on trees and swing with vines or maybe even the player could do it.

Expand the alchemy bench?. I for one love the game and how you play it, but I’m just gonna get right to the point. Expand the alchemy bench because wouldn’t it be cool to crossbreed plants and animals in that game. Imagine a volcanic spitter crossbred with a swamp bog defending your base or owning a black panther Crossbred with a boar would be cool. I know it’s a little weird and the graphics for it would be hard but PLEASE CONSIDER IT!!! it would make the alchemy part of the game a million times cooler

Doesn’t feel complete. The monkey ai is terrible. Much of the time they have poor response or simply stop responding to commands. Every time you load your game you have to retrain all the monkeys again. Very little content and controls feel a step behind completion.

Crashes and loses all progress.. On both my phone and Apple TV it has crashed a couple times losing hours of progress. The game requires saving manually but I always forget since there isn’t really a need to sleep which is when you can save. Most games auto save instead or relying on you remember to save. Finishing the bat temple for the first time the heading out side and the game crashes really makes me not want to play.

Monkey glitch. The monkeys sometimes get stuck and dont do tasks. They also place wood on front of the campfire and it can not be picked up

Multiplayer. This game is really fun but I don’t get why I have to be older than 13 to play with friends.

Great game. This is a very great game and it upsets me that it gets a lower rating. All the negative reviews come from the fact that they forgot to save. This game uses manual saves as it clearly states on the opening screen. So, DON’T FORGET TO SAVE.

Worst save system. Games good, but I’ve lost hours of progress due to no auto save and the game frequently crashing, so bloody annoying. Not worth playing because you’ll just lose your progress.

Fun. a couple recommendations tho:. I like to listen to podcasts while I play a little game, not being able to do this makes me not want to play this game. Seems relatively simple to make it possible to have something running in the background, it would be nice to have that option. I like the game, it’s cool, fun. But it was absolutely heartbreaking when my home got ravaged since it takes so long to craft things, the event didn’t motivate me, it made me actually dislike the game, I felt like I didn’t yet have a grasp on things and then my home got ransacked by orcs, too hard. that’s life I guess. Would be cool to have an option to call ALL the monkey on an island rather than just the ones in your vicinity, like an option to do either or. I find I lost track of monkeys very quickly, and spent a lot of time looking for them which was frustrating. Very cute game tho I like the style and ideas. Cheers.

4.5. This game is definitely worth downloading, however there are some things I would like to point out. The game crashes a little to often which can make you lose a lot of progress, archers are very annoying and should do a little less damage, the game can over populate hard to kill enemies, monkeys do hardly as much damage as they should even with some of the best weapons, and resources can run out very fast (also when the world replenishes it hardly grow anything back at all). Despite all this the game is always fun to play and there is always replay value. There’s always a challenge and the monkeys are very fun to play around with. Overall, get the game you won’t regret it

Monkeys delivery breaks down. Good game but the monkey delivery function stops which makes it frustrating trying to restart it and it doesn’t last for more then a minute. Would be great if this was fixed. Game crashes sometimes so save often. Good game other than that.

Better!!! 🐒. I was looking for a review about the recent update. Seems like I will have to write one. Before it was one star. The game was crushing and you would lose all progress and all items. With recent update the Saving feature seems to work well. The game still crashes and freezes - but very rarely and you can still access the last Saved Checkpoint. There was no corruption of saved files so far. Thank you for bringing my wife’s favourite game back! She is loving it, and for me happy wife = happy life. To devs: Keep up the good work! Keep improving stability and multiplayer functionality. Take a look at gather.town If you can implement video-chat in the game it can be an interesting idea to explore :)) More updates. More content. More stability. And we, your faithful fans, will never abandon you :)

Multiplayer doesn’t work. It doesn’t work because when I tried to play co-op with my family it did not let me due to age restriction and it’s boring playing with nobody.

Crashes ruin the game. Game has potential and seems fun however crashes ruin the game. The game either needs to run properly or have an auto save feature every few minutes. The crashes make you have to revert back to your last manual save and you end up having to repeat hours worth of gameplay due to various crashes which ends up making it both extremely frustrating and not worth while to play.

Come on. I was using that special chest I got from the traveller to store all my items, a monkey was carrying it, I saved, then closed and reopened the game later and the chest is gone! I don’t know how to get it back! I don’t know if I CAN get it all back. Since it’s got some special ability to transfer things to a multiplayer game, I’m hoping if I buy it back my stuff will transfer to the new chest, but for all I know, that chest could be a one time purchase! I shouldn’t have to go through all this trouble anyway! On top of that, the game is prone to crashing so you have to manually save constantly if you want to get anywhere. How am I supposed to get anything done if all my progress keeps getting reset?

Needs Work. I loved this game but there are some bugs that make me not wanna play. It crashes way too often and if you don’t save you lose a lot of progress. The biggest issue is the mysterious stranger just stays on the first island and doesn’t sell anything or move. He did before but after a while he just stopped so I can’t progress any further.

Great Idea, Awful Implementation. First off; this game is broken on macOS Big Sur, it launches and then shows a white box you can do nothing but resize. Second, the controls are absolutely awful, and the UI is too small and annoying to use for long periods. Third, the game is too easy to beat in a short time, and you will only ever need to leave the starter island for metal.

Blueprint glitch. This is an awesome game, but I just have one problem. You can’t erase the blueprints that you have already placed down unless you build them, and I accidentally placed a blueprint on something that was apparently solid, and I can’t erase the blueprint. Please fix this.

Fun but. The game is fun but there’s definitely a bug that deletes chests. When it happened the first time, I thought it was my fault. The second time, I thought one of my monkeys dropped it while in a fight w some creature, I looked retraced my steps and everything and it was nowhere to be found. Then I did a vault and had one hold a treasure chest, and it just disappeared. I didn’t get into any fights on the way out of the vault because I had already completed it, so I know that wasn’t the issues. I lost so much stuff, it takes the fun out of the game.

Fun game but buggy. I love this game, more now that I can play with out constant crashing. I upgraded my IPad and now I don’t have the corruption issues and most everything works. I’m still having issues with “taming rabbits” being recognized for the task. You’ve made the game a bit harder which is good and increased the resources, also good. Now that I can enter the labyrinths I think I can move past the first stages. Keep up the good work and bring on the challenges.

Great start!. Hands down one of the best mobile games I’ve played, it plays like terraria and ark had a baby that actually runs well. The crafting is great and the combat is surprisingly clean. When I started playing I was like cool this Island I’d a decent size and then I realized there’s multiple islands to sail between and I was blown away with the things I found. The roadmap shows they’re also adding taming and breeding witch I’m beyond excited for! The fact is this is the best mobile game I’ve played and I even bought it on my ps5 because I love it so much.

Please read this :). I love the game a lot, especially becuse now you can have pets, but there are some interesting bugs. First bug I found (I think the only one) was that when I was playing out of nowhere the game pauses and the sound and music is still on. And then it boots me out of the game with the sound and music on. And then I need to restart from my resent save. I have also seen this in a couple other arcade games. But besides that, it’s a very good game! Please fix this bug :)

I loved this game until. When I first got this game I loved it so much. it was my favorite game at the time. and I spent about 4 hours in my first world. and the save file courupted for no reason. and it always doesn’t save whenever I actually do save. Monkeys bug out. When they get resources from chests or anywhere an then put them in campfires or furnaces they stop gathering them an say no more resources or something. But whats weird is this never happened until i had like 6-7 monkeys. It was just fine and out of nowhere that glitch started happening. Yes i have resources for the item to craft i put it on the floor an my other monkeys pick it up an put it back in the chest but the ones assigned for gathing them and putting them in the furnace or fireplace bug out and sometimes shows they hav le the item in there hand but just jumps around like they did something.

Are we getting an update soon?. I currently have this game on multiple platform Switch, PS5 and IOS. I’m m more than disappointed since updates have rolled out every other platform excluding the latter. I’ve always had some quality of life issues that the game addressed in the most recent update but, with the IOS version staying the same i really can’t justify a subscription to Apple Arcade (if this was a deciding factor ) for this game. I recommend console or steam version if possible until this had been updated, or stick with the iOS version if you don’t mind.

Game keeps crashing :/. I really like this game super fun! But I’m trying to put makeshift lanterns on my poles around my house and every time I put one in front of my window the game would go bright and freeze, while trying to put lanterns on my poles and saving my game after every lantern the game started freezing two seconds into playing no matter what I do and now I can’t play at all :/ would really like some help fixing this as I enjoy y’all’s game and would like to keep playing it :)

Please help. I really want my game back. I had just completed the monkey temple then i saw a new symbol Pop up on my map so I decided to make a fast raft and I didn’t want to make a whole new sail so I tried to get the old sail off My old raft but I couldn’t figure out how then I just started trying to destroy the old raft so the sail would fall off then a shark killed me and when I respawned the music that plays when you are sailing I tried everything to make the music stop so I did the regenerate world thing but the music wouldn’t stop so then I just deleted the game then I redownlouded the game then the music stoped but I wasn’t on my original island and I’m relly sad So if you can do enything to get my game back please please help

Love it, but 🪫&🔥. Love this game! I keep coming back to play. — Only issue is that when playing it drains my battery so incredibly fast- as in after a few minutes of game play my 100% battery goes to 90%; & if I plug it in to charge whilst playing, the left side of (the screen) game play gets glitchy! So in order to even play I have to keep it plugged in. Not to mention the fact that it heats my iPad up plugged in or not! If the issues of “battery draining” & “at risk of over heating” it would without a doubt be 5 stars.

Fun but glitchy, hours of progress lost.. I really really got into this game. It’s a great concept and really fun to spend time progressing through all the upgrades and such to get to harder islands. The lack of auto save feature is insane. Two different times I played 2+ hours straight making huuuge progress on my home area and upgrades only to have the game completely freeze and reset putting me back to the last time I saved. It’s infuriating. Deleted the app because of how much time I’ve wasted.

one my favorite. this game is the only good survival game except its more than good its amazing and i love unlike any other game i play i get bored and stop playing it. but this game this game in particular have everything i wanted in a survival game and im so happy that its not a zombie survival game this is so so so so so so very fun i play this probley whenever im not play my oculus and i play it because i love survival games and this is better than any game that ive played and its now my second favorite game ever i love. Right concept, not ready. I love the game, my entire family loves the game, and there needs to be more games like this for Apple Arcade to be successful. It’s a great concept and something we can all sit down and do together. It’s just not ready for prime time. After spending a day constantly wishing We’d have saved every ten seconds due to crashes and doing the same tasks repeatedly because we got booted out of the game and then didn’t immediately save upon completing something....I’m done until it gets fixed.

Can’t play with friends under a specific age. I cannot play with my friends due to age restrictions I would like it a lot better if I could play with them in a private match or something like that the game is a great game but I cannot play with my friends or any of my the people I know I get why they would do age restrictions in a party where you join was like random people and stuff but if you could do one like a private party where you could just play with your friends only

Great game but, needs an auto save!. This game is so fun it reminds me of Minecraft which is one of my favorite games. One of my favorite things is that you can train the monkeys to do task for you super fast and when I say super fast I mean that the monkeys can deforest the entire island in a couple days. But, definitely one of the biggest draw backs is that there is no auto save. For example, I was playing the game and I had just started to build a house and left the game but, forgot to save my progress and I lost all of it😡😭. So, overall this game is super fun but, the manual saves are super annoying so, please get rid of that.

Ups and Downs. I’m currently OBSESSED with this game. Total old school game boy vibes. It’s a lot of fun and there’s something to always do. HOWEVER, I’m so sad I had to give this three stars but there’s a lot that needs to be done in order for it to be 5 stars... and that begins with it needs an AUTOSAVE. For how many times this game constantly crashes and doesn’t give me the opportunity to save- I’ve lost so much progress and can’t even bring myself to play out of aggravation. Alike other reviewers mentioned - Some improvements include but are not limited to : Farming, Armor, and other minor inclusions. But PLEASE fix the bugs and crashes. I want to enjoy the game again

Clunky and confusing. Tiny font, lack of clear direction, quickly got stuck. I used a blueprint to make a bed but it said I didn’t have the materials needed to complete it. I couldn’t find anything that explains what those materials are. The game didn’t explain it to me. So, I ran around trying to figure it randomly. Grabbed a bunch of possible materials, nothing worked. Got attacked by enemies, has to keep using my starting berries to survive. Ran out of berries, ran like hell. Tried to eat the meat and bat wings that drop, but they need to be cooked. There was no clear way to cook them. No more berries to be found. Freed the monkey, which spawned awkwardly so I couldn’t see him behind a tree. He was no help in building my bed! Finally gave up in frustration! >< This game looked really intriguing but it is not currently well suited to mobile play. Make some UI and tutorial improvements and I’ll try again.

A good game like the others 😄. Thank you developer and makers of this game and escapists 2 I like this game a lot but I always die to the raids on like the first day It’s so annoying but other than that it’s mostly a really good and fun game like escapists and escapists 2 I also want to mention that you should add some new maps and stuff to escapists 2 I have escape almost every way there is possible to all the maps it would be nice if you could make some more.

I like it but…. I recently started playing Survivalists a few months ago. It is a really fun game, but there are a few issues, if someone can help me. Thanks. 1. The vaults and labyrinths do not work. I will walk into them, and they immediately crash my game. :( Which is disappointing and upsetting because I cannot move forward in the game, because I can’t get taming stuff. Also, I can’t get the loot inside, which I could REALLY use. (I am very poor in the game.🥲) 2. The game crashes at random times. It freezes, then goes black, then the app force quits. Nothing else to say there. I have literally tried everything to fix these issues. I have also looked all over the internet to see if anyone else has these issues, and no one seems to. I wrote this so I can get help and so can other people with these problems. Developers, if you see this, I’d appreciate some help. Thanks in advance. Most compelling reason for Apple Arcade BUT. Bug fixes needed ASAP...monkeys forget what I taught them when closing app...this seems especially to be the case for those taught to fight. There is also often crashes that force close the game and if you are not often and actively saving, you lose progress (and the hours invested). I am now saving early and often but still frustrating to have to reteach...etc upon reloading app.

Perfect ! Just perfect. ♡. First off, a great game! Of course the monkeys are super cute, and it’s very VERY nice of you guys to have the monkeys able to be trained, as they can work for you! But obviously, it comes at a cost! Bananas! An amazing work, from like, I don’t know, 7-9 pixel game, to 10-12 pixels, to even more pixels! The game is lovely, it’s not realistic but that’s a style anybody can do. Even at a young age.

Fun game. This game is a little clunky but once you get the hang of it it’s fun & terribly addictive. That being said I couldn’t give it 4-5 stars bc it stops functioning after a while. It just loads continuously but won’t open. I’ve tried everything I can think of to do without success. Incredibly frustrating bc I see other people are having the same problem!! Pls fix this bug. I can’t play the game & I was just starting to get the hang of surviving raids, etc. I don’t mind having to start over but I can’t due to the stupid glitch!!!!!!!

Ports?. Ok 1 great game I have had it for two days and played it for like 3 hours 2 for everyone saying it is just a pc game or should come to console I say it would only really work on switch because it’s a portable game and nice to pop out whenever but I have sat down and played it for an hour and a half straight so I wish it’s easier to do that. Multiplayer host options. My wife and I enjoy playing the game together. It’s a lot of fun. One minor complaint is when we are playing together random people continue to join the game. I know under the options there is a online options selection. It won’t allow me to select private. Public is selected by default and I can’t change it. If that small bug was to be fixed, it would be a five star rating.

Manual saving is a joy killer. Unlike every other modern video game, this one requires the player periodically, manually save their progress, or else they will lose everything the next time the app closes. The only indication of this is a long paragraph which appears while the game is loading, which only lasts a few seconds. Also, when changing settings, the user is presented with a dialog box warning the player that their settings will be lost if they don’t press ‘Apply’ instead. The player then needs to dismiss this dialog and press the separate ‘Apply’ button in the bottom left corner. It’s 2020, guys. Come on.

This shouldn’t be in Apple Arcade, and manual sav. I hate how this is in Apple Arcade this is bad becuase I been looking forward to Lay the game forever but I don’t have enough cash to pay forever in Apple Arcade and the game is annoying like it is fun but,manual save is bad because sometimes you forget and boom you have to retry and you can save in the menu so stop saying in bed and it’s impossible in early game like how do you get fur clumps I know how to but is hard to get moneys and there’s a max it ruins the fun and add armor because I always die when I attack you say use monkey I do but I have to wait I’m still like it I’m still rating 1 star and make early game better and make and late game harder

Crashes. Really good app, I played it the whole entire week nonstop. The game is quite similar to terraria and Minecraft prolly combined both to one game lol. But this game crashes a lot and when I do loot so much because I know what items I should be getting and what island to stop by from, please fix the issue for IOS iPhone. Stop the bug I beg you 😭😭 I was like one more time it crashes I’m deleting the app. Am Fr though, made me feel like I wasted a ton of hours for nothing.

Glitched out and lost all my progress. I was playing and I was around the top left of the map and suddenly my map was all filled out every island then I went into a vault and got stuck in noclip inside I tried to walk out and couldn’t leave so I decided to walk all the way to the left, died and lost all my items and progress in the game right around the time I was about to head back home to save so it really just ruined the entire game for me.

Why no auto save. I like this game a lot and sometimes I get bored of playing games on console so I go to my phone and play this which is fun. But, one things is the saving… I have limits on my phone (because I’m 12) and I’ll be playing and then my limit goes off and boom goes my progress. So this is game has not much that I don’t like just the auto save or something like that. Oh and at the end can you get washed ashore to a town with lots of people and live a normal life. That would be awesome.

Great game major problem. So this game is very fun I’ve been playing it for about a week now and it’s always giving me some new challenges. This being said I’m probably getting rid of it considering the save game data corrupts every couple days negating any progress made. This has happened a couple of times and I can’t find app support through their website for this game at all, nor can I locate a way to contact the developers to inform them that this is a game breaking and completely ruining problem. It takes about twenty minutes to load in and I have a new iPad this game is kinda fun I just hate how u have to press the monkey button on the top left then press the mimic button then select α monkey/s then select the item u want to craft build it ur self for one second then give them the multi tool and then make them craft it and tada it’s crafted it just so dumb. Pls follow my idea and make that easier pls. I love this game but the big cat kills u in one hit and there is no armor. It u like the battle cat II game or whatever it’s called this is for you.

Good game overall. This is what a survival game is about, from being stranded to befriending monkeys to help you and do your to do list. Not a big fan of manual save though, there have been a few instances where i found myself closing the game and coming back to unsaved progress. Would like to see the ability to craft more items and have more things to do, as well as being able to lock monkeys for resource gathering and combat only or sentry mode while they follow you, but otherwise a good game to pass time.

This Is Amazing. So i first saw this game from Dantdm and I always wanted to play it. And I finally got the chance a few weeks ago and it’s really fun. There’s so many things to do like build fight and find dungeons. But I really would like for them to remove it off the Apple Arcade and just put it in the normal App Store. But besides that is a really fun game that I think you should try if you like survival type games.

Addicting, but bugs need swatting. Edit: now it appears a game save bug has me unable to open the game. Changed rating to 1 star to get Dev attention, since the support ticket page doesn’t work - like another reviewer, it gives me an error saying the CSRF token is missing because it has already been used. I refreshed the page, filled out the form again, and got the same error. Will reinstate 4 star rating when login issue is addressed. Original review: Wow, this game is fun! I get an occasional bug where tool tips disappear, necessitating a save and force quit. There is a “hint” reminding you saving only happens in bed, but we can save from the menu(thank goodness!). Game has crashed once for me (AppleTV HD, not at all on my iPad Air 3) when I was in a Vault with 14 monkeys trying to get them to attack. Raft travel is sloooow, and many foods that restore “medium health and medium hunger” have varying amounts that “medium” applies to. My son can’t join multiplayer with me, either, even though multiplayer restrictions are turned off. It gives an error like “age restrictions“ being the reason.

Will it ever be updated?. The game is fun and has potential. However, there are a few major issues that caused me to stop playing. An example is that when you resume a saved game after the app has restarted, all of the monkeys that are following you are no longer doing what you had them doing before. You have to assign them back to the previous activity. Another example is that the monkeys are not able or get confused with adding some crafting components to certain crafting recipes. A game update is really necessary, but who knows if the developers are planning on improvements.

The multiplayer. Please fix the multiplayer restrictions I really want to play multiplayer with my family please I’m begging you🙏🏻 Edit: a dodo bird🦤?!?!??!?? I’m mesmerized by the new species of animals and plants you put in the game it’s great but please fix the multiplayer for under age users because of restrictions. And the book that tells you what animal you discover really helps

Crashes randomly very frustrating. The game seems to be a poor port to iOS devices. I thought the crashing may just be because of the Apple TV I’ve had others do the same thing, but it does it on my iPad and iPhone as well. They definitely need to fix this and I agree the fact that you have to be on a bed to save is extremely frustrating. Also mountains cover certain parts of the terrain that you can’t see pity you can’t spin the map 360 to get a different viewpoint or the game should just block areas that conceal your character and objects so you cannot enter them. The game itself is extremely fun though.

Entertaining Concept, Poorly Executed. Let me start off by saying this is the first review I’ve ever wrote on anything...Now, this game has the potential in my opinion to be a 5 star game but when me and my wife play together (and I’m the host) after about 20 mins of play she’s unable to press any buttons displayed on the screen, weird right.??? We went to sleep on the game and it wouldn’t let her get out of bed because the buttons weren’t working. After constantly starting the game over so we could continue to play together from it constantly freezing me and her decided to just go ahead and uninstall. Fix Now

Cant play multiplayer. I downloaded the survivalist so i can play some sort of sandbox with freinds but every time i try to host or join a game it tells me that i have restrictions. I dont have restrictions but the game tells me it does, i dont know if its a problem with the game or my phone because i have never had this happen to me, please help me fix this Otherwise the game is amazing, its sorta limited but its very fun to play as a casual game, but please add autosave because i keep losing my progress when i exit the game, thanks

Just a few bugs to fix. I love this game to just relax and play on I got used to it since I play a lot of survival games but however when I play the game in the middle of doing whatever I might be doing, battle, building, collecting…etc it’s freezes and I lose all my progress. It’s getting to a point where I’ll be on the game for a great minute and I find new supplies and collect but then the game completely crashes. I hope it fixes soon I really do enjoy engaging with this game.

Amazing game. I truly love this game, it is everything you would want in the app store. You may think its not worth it just to get arcade for this one game, but oh boy its worth it. But there is one flaw, the manual saves I mean surenits a cool concept but it is kinda bad. Although the game its self runs over this concept because its too good to be true! But, it dosent get much updates like the switch version. I own a nintendo switch and i like to play the survivalists on that more than my iphone. But keep up the good work!!!

Great game but buggy. Playing mainly on my Apple TV. Quite buggy. Will crash randomly. Monkeys become untrained when you die or load from save or load from crash. Sometimes monkeys won’t gather right. Like will not gather from chests or will not pick up certain items, have to retrain them to get them to gather everything again. Lastly non bug issue knowing where to find certain things like iron and the such is a bit difficult. Took some googling to know where to find things or what to do next. Outside of that it’s actually a really good game and quite addictive to the point I’m still playing even with the bugs. Wish they would get these patched would easily be a 4.5 stars then.

Fun but glitchy. I love this game really enjoying it. The monkeys are loads of fun once you get the hang of. My only issue- and maybe it’s because I’m playing on Apple TV (but it said it was compatible), but the game just up and crashes soooo often. Not sure how aware of the crashing the game makers are but hoping they see this and figure out a fix. Fixing that would take it up to 5 stars for me.

Multiplayer issues. Came to this game because it looked like ‘Don’t Starve’ and it had multiplayer connections. Tried out multiplayer multiple times but all which failed to play together with my family. The issue was either the screen froze when entering in the world and I couldn’t touch anything or that it froze on loading screen. In single player the game becomes laggy and saving sometime logs me out. Single player isnt that bad but they still have bugs to fix. I also heard the developers aren’t on this project anymore so the bugs aren’t fixed. Hopefully they come back to this game soon.

Good game but there are some glitches (deadly glitches). I love this game but i do hate it the you have to manual save i finished the monkey labrynth i collected the compass and the elephant bird tranquilizer and right as i got out my game crashed and i hadnt saved but only during the labrynth and then when i came back it WAS GONE 🥺 that labrynth took an hour to do and 30 mins plus going back 10 mins looking on reddit to see how to do a puzzle so now i cant get the ultimate trinket slot cant finish the game or get the elephant bird tranquilizer😡 can devs plz give me the elephant bird tranquilizer blueprint ultimate trinket slot and compass😢

Crashing Needs To Be Addressed. This game has a lot of great qualities about it. One of the things that drew me to it is that I can play multiplayer with my wife which makes it even better. However, we both have the iPhone 12 and this game crashes on us probably half a dozen times a day. This is especially frustrating because we then have to start all over from a journey that we were on for a while collecting resources. If you’re not going to add an auto save feature, at least fix the crashing. Until then, it will not receive 5 stars from me.

What the heck. So I started this game really enjoying it. It’s fun! At least until day 13. Raid. A raid of monsters raids my base, killing me and my monkey friends. Death in this game means you drop your items and respawn at your bed (sound familiar?). And that wouldn’t be so bad... but the raid is still happening when you respawn! This means you’ve dropped your weapon, and they’re likely swarming you before you can even find it, killing you without almost instantly. I did NOTHING that should’ve triggered this, it just came out of nowhere. This ruined the game for me, and I have no more desire to play and try to see if there’s something I could’ve done.

Fun, but stuff just vanishes?. This has been a really fun game so far. But it gets frustrating from time to time because items just disappear. I had a large chest full of high-level tools and weapons that my monkey was carrying. I saved, and then the chest just disappeared. Now my save was over written and I couldn’t get my chest back with all the stuff I had built and collected. Needless to say I had to rage quit at that point. Unfortunately it’s not the first time that’s happened either. But it’s a pretty fun game when it’s working. It also seems to crash quite a bit.
