💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Helpful but it needs improvement. I love the app. It works well, it even gets my accent, what Alexa and Siri fails to do sometimes. But I would love a interchangeable button added to the language selection. Sometimes I want to translate from english to german and sometimes from german to english and now this task is more complicated than it needs to be. It would save me a lot of time if I could just click on a button between the languages instead of selecting each one. Thanks :)

If I could give zero stars, I would. It translated once, then it was telling me I needed to buy a weekly subscription or buy a lifetime subscription. I tried to do the weekly one, translate what I needed, and then unsubscribe, but it refused to accept that I did it. I then just did the lifetime one, seeing as it translated beautifully once, but even though I bought it (my bank showed that it was charged to my card) it kept asking me to choose a subscription. I tried choosing to just keep the low-grade subscription, but it literally wouldn’t change the page to even let me do any more translations. 100% a scam, do not buy

Zero Stars…. This app barely works. The translations are almost never correct and they only have like 10 translations options. Whenever I use a word or phrase indicating a gender it always uses the opposite gender. So if the phrase or sentence I want translated mentions “her” it always translates to “him” and vice versa. Also when I go to translate something, it always takes like a minute before it plays the translations. It also crashes and when it does, when I try to open it again, I’m greeted with a blank screen and I can’t do anything after that. For like several days. I have to uninstall it and install it again which has me start all over again. I don’t like how other apps require to purchase add ons. This one is free but adds nothing to the experience. I might as well just pay for the extra stuff on other apps. I think this app came with the update. Because when I updated to the first iteration of iOS 15 this app was magically installed afterwards.

Works when it wants to work and it’s very frustrating. Whenever I use this app, the microphone works when it wants to work. I click on the mic and the squiggly starts, but it will not interpret the spoken words and when it does, it’ll input the wrong word. I’m using Spanish to English translation and this has been happening for quite a while. Many many updates have been done on this iPhone 12 Pro and the same followed for the iPhone 11 Pro when I had it. When is the problem with translation going to get fixed?? I’m trying to use it for my college homework in Spanish. I have to resort to google translation, but sometimes I just want to use my phone with the app that came with the device.

Apple Translate. Very nice app and found it to be very easy to use, you can select the language you want to translate too and from at the top. What’s particularly interesting is the app will auto detect the language you are speaking, therefore if you translate English to Spanish for example the app will spell out the translation and provide the audio in Spanish also, then you have the option press the microphone say the word in Spanish and it will translate back in English. Very well done!

Sooo stupid and frustrating!!. You have one shot and one shot only to translate something. Don’t expect to use this more than once because the app physically won’t allow you to. Once you translate your first go round that’s the languages and that’s your sentence. It’s like a genie with one wish and one wish only. But you can only ask it to translate something for you. Seriously???! Fix the ***** bugs Apple what is wrong with you? Like really why can’t you delete what you translated? Why can’t you change the languages? Better hope you don’t press the wrong language on accident. Oh and don’t expect it to let you just speak into the mic because there’s no way to stop it and it’ll just keep listening and listening and listening… oh and listening. If I could give no stars that would be completely ideal.

You guys need to try to put effort into this!. All you people that are getting this app. Good for you just don’t delete it as soon as it resets or something like that. At least try to figure the problem out because this app can actually help you learn, talk, and so many things that might help you later on in life. So please give this app a 5 ⭐️. Thank you guys for putting this together I actually got to understand my friend that speaks Spanish for the first time it was so cool!!!!✌🏾👍🏾🤟🏾

Terrible app. This app was auto installed on my phone with the latest update. I already had Google Translate and let me just say, Google Translate is SO much better! This app is not at all easy to use and it cannot instantly translate written words the way Google does. I hadn’t noticed right away that there were now two apps on my phone for translate. At first I had thought this was an update for Google Translate and I was so upset because I thought I would be lost in a foreign country unable to understand anyone around me. I was so thrilled when I finally figured out that Google Translate was still the same. I promptly deleted this app from my phone and will NEVER download it again or attempt to use it again.

It needs more languages. This is a great and accurate translator app and I am glad that Apple finally got on board in creating one, but it needs more languages including language variations. In case you're not aware - Spanish (Spain) is NOT the same as Spanish (Mexico) and can often differentiate depending on what the translation is. Please get up to date in regards to this and other similar issues plus the confusing difference between how the app works when On-Device mode is “on” and/or “off”. As I mentioned before; Translate is a great, necessary, and needed addition to Apple’s many apps and has amazing potential but until these mentioned and other bugs within the app are fixed then it will never be able to compete with and/or let alone be on the same level as/with Google Translate. Thank you tremendously in advance!

Would like to help improve this app (Or maybe learn how to use it correctly?). I am fluent in English as my first language and intermediate for Spanish. Over the past year or so, I have been trying to use this app to translate words and phrases from either language into the other. Somehow, I cannot seem to master progressing (speak or Txt/type) from one language as translated into the other as the only two selected languages for my app (IOS). The Spanish “Introducir texto“ does not yield me English and vice versa for the “Enter text for English needed translations from Spanish. Also, very often I cannot even find the microphone when I open the app forcing me to enter needed translation material by texting. Might there be a set of instructions somewhere that will perhaps show me how to correctly use this app—if I am indeed using the wrong protocol for operations? JCS-MD

Excellent communication tool. I downloaded this app before our last trip to mexico. We don’t speak Spanish and I have a slight hearing problem (deaf in one ear). This makes it difficult for me to understand the enunciation of words sometimes. I struggle with certain tones and that makes learning to communicate in a different language difficult. I hated asking everyone local how to say something and then not getting the word correct because I couldn’t hear their answers. With this application I could look up words and phrases and then the locals would teach me the “less formal” or easier way to say those phrases. I could communicate and this made the trip much more fun!

Needs settings to turn off auto-detect in apps like Safari. For the use of translating text in apps such as safari, messages, news, etc… Please add settings to TURN-OFF the “auto detect the original text language” and offer the option to keep the user preferred selected original text language saved, unless user changes it. Example scenario: A page in Safari written in English language, i need to translate few words to a foreign language. Every time i hold a text to translate, i get either “the language could not be auto detected” or i do get a translation but with unexpected original language like Italian, french, dutch..! Which then i have to reselect the original language to english again and again and again …… Probably its an auto-detect problem since there are many words similar in letters but different in languages (meanings and pronunciations). Other than that, the app is not bad and should get better by time and proper updates. Thanks you.

It’s 2022. It’s 2022 and you’re showing only 12 languages someone can choose to translate when there are countless languages on planet earth. That’s ridiculous. There are far more Asian languages than just three and you don’t have ANY AFRICAN languages at all on this app. I am extremely disappointed and it is disrespectful on the 12 languages you have chosen to include as a list of languages to translate. I hope other users see my review and feel outrage as I do. I hope you change your mindset and understand there are more than 12 languages on earth. Also there are many apple based apps that seriously need an update to make the app modern with the times. I have rarely seen any apple based apps requiring an update. I don’t think you are paying attention to your brand as a whole and making everything modern.

Much worse than competition, missing many languages. This underfed and orphaned Apple app is clearly a low priority. It totally fails compared to the competition, like Google translate and Microsoft translator in both the features, and the number of languages supported. It's too bad because it is integrated into ios, it would be nice to be able to use it. What makes it particularly infuriating that, when you select text in some app, you have an option to "translate" which would be oh so convenient - except then it says the language isn't supported. So, then you are stuck with having to copy and paste into either Google or Microsoft translators, which takes many unnecessary extra steps.

Google Translate Must Switch Now. I used this for work to translate from English to Spanish. Unfortunately it only has Spain Spanish and i need Mexican, Latino, Hispanic Spanish. They are similar but are completely different some of my Hispanic customers have no clue of what im saying sometimes because it is Spain Spanish. The app is okay i just started having problems with it today ive been using it for 8 months now but i took a picture to translate from english to spanish and it didnt work i tried updating but there was no update. so that made me look for a new translator app. i found google translate it has the Mexican Spanish and it is easy to use and the words are accurate!! You dont even have to take a picture you just put the camera on the script and it translates in mini seconds. I am so glad i dont have to struggle with the spain spanish words no more. definitely using and staying with Google Translate App!!!!

Frustrating User Interface. The most simplistic part of this app is the ability to change languages to start a conversation. After that, everything becomes a chore: - Every feature requires two or three additional taps or interface selections, which often makes the experience confusing and leaves the user wondering what to do next. - App will often take an extended time to populate a translation, with no interface indication about the progress of the command that has been given. - Voice-to-text feature often will not populate a translation, and incorrectly continuing after ending voice option will erase what has been typed. - Selecting the text field to edit what has been written via voice-to-text, will often delete what has been written.

Wonderful Conversion without Effective Copying Capabilities. Great with offline dictionaries and conversions while traveling. Trust security of app as well as processing. I desire ability to copy translated text in one click like in alternatives. Also retain more history, and place used phrases cataloged in folders will be assisting many. Ability to translate better integrated within all Apps as backend functionality improves. Offline dictionaries essential for travel and makes more sense than requiring online connection; have had issues with dictionary downloads, which now seen to disappear with any iOS update and troublesome to remember to download again, which has issues (Nov 2022). I appreciate the developers kindness in creating a more unified system.

Third Party Apps Are Still BETTER.. It has most of the components and simple design to be a great app, so why is in it? Where is a quick copy feature for the translated portion? Why can’t I quickly switch languages from my language to the other and vise versa? These features should be implemented to function with a single tap. Not by going to each language bar and scrolling back and forth; Not by highlighting a text to copy a translation. As an Apple fan and consumer, I hope I can come back soon to find these features implemented because they’re such an easy fix! Until then I’ll continue to use third party apps

Why would you include SPANISH 🇪🇸 & not 🇲🇽. Apple, if you haven’t noticed yet do United States is not only closest and next-door to Mexico, but Spanish for Mexico happens to be the most popular spoken language in the United States after English. So why in the world would you instead include Spanish (Spain) and completely exclude Spanish (Mexico)!!❔ …. Or better yet simply include Spanish.(US)! You guys are so focused on the hardware that all of your software and operating system functionalities are completely going down the drain. This is not the Apple that we all knew and loved. What’s the use of having amazing hardware like super fast processors and cutting edge hardware technology, if your software and operating systems are going down the drain at a rapid pace?

Offline mode just doesn’t work. When the app works, it is actually pretty good. The integration with iOS is nice, and the quality of translations, even offline ones, is pretty good. But, the offline (on-device) mode has some serious problems. It used to work most of the time, but there has always been a problem where it insists on re-downloading the dictionaries. Now, it has recently decided that it can only download one dictionary. Attempting to download a second results in the first being deleted, and there’s never a point where it actually functions correctly. Even when it used to function, it would demand downloading a new copy of the dictionary at inconvenient times. Do you want to right click on some text for a web page or in an email and translate it? Great. One time. The second time, it demands downloading the dictionaries again. And it does this over and over so that the app is essentially unusable offline (which is where I value it the most). Finally, the support link on the store page is a joke. It just takes you to Apple’s generic support page for its devices. Nothing about the Translate app at all. No place to file a bug report. No place to seek assistance for it. This app should be great. When it works, it is great, but it’s completely dropped the ball on the little things which are so vital to making it work consistently and, therefore, usefully. I guess it’s back to Google Translate until they fix this.

What a Disappointment! Doesn’t Work Offline Anymore. After recent 16.4 update this app stopped working offline. Doesn’t matter how many times you try downloading languages, deleting App ENTIRELY and reloading, or whatever else you can come up with. You get “Translation is unavailable at the moment. Try again at a later time.” Disappointing that Apple can’t even get their own App to work on their own iOS operating system. Especially something as simple as a translator which is nothing more than a few relational databases (call them dictionaries if you want) interacting. AI taking over the world on one side, Apple trying to make their own Apps work on their own system on the other. No way Steve would be pleased is all would venture. UPDATE: Few Days after iOS upgrade the downloaded offline languages are working again. Very glad to see and have changed the 1 star to 3 and crossing fingers going forward.

Translates Well, Nice Interface.. Not sure where all the negativity toward this app is coming from. The translations are as good as the major translators I’ve used. I really like the interface which is clean and uncluttered. The one big problem for me is the voice translation. First it is unnaturally fast. No real person runs words together that quickly and with no thought for context in the sentence. Much better to slightly slow down the rate. The other problem is the voice itself. I should be able to select a male voice if I want or choose from a number of other voices. The “italiano” voice is far too high pitched and very annoying. So I never listen to voice translations because of these issues.

Essential feature missing… I can’t even. This app is such a disappointment. There is no option (at least that I could find) that allows you to quickly reverse the languages. I’m currently in a country where very few people speak English. The easiest way to communicate here is with a translation app, I type a question and show the translation to the person I am talking to. With every other translation app I’ve ever used, I could just reverse the languages so the person can type in their response to translate back to me in English. Instead I have to scroll through two drop down menus to reverse the translation. Seriously, what a joke.

Major Oversight, In Spite of Customer Feedback. Apple has put some interesting and useful features into this app, and I do use it from time to time for that reason. I would prefer to use it every time, but unlike nearly every other translation utility available, there is no ability to directly swap the input and output languages. The user is forced to use four clicks to change the individual languages, which becomes so tedious when looking up more than one word as to make the app unusable. Even more insulting, Apple has removed the ability to provide feedback for this app from their feedback page, so negative reviews on the App Store are the only option left.

Terrible translations. After a while of trying to use this with studying Spanish I started getting suspicious and started double checking everything with SpanishDict. To put it nicely at best the translations are obscure or secondary (or tertiary). Nada bueno. Just one recent example: I was just listening to a song with the phrase “no te fallo”. I looked it up on Translate and it said “I won’t let you”. Well that was not convincing grammatically for in the context of the song. SpanishDict results gave me “I don’t fail you”. Yup, that fits. I was going to rate two stars but really what is the point of having a translate app you can’t trust. Extra disappointing since it’s Apple’s stock translate app. I would rather prefer using native apps… as long as they were arguably the best - or even worked! Disappointingly, unlike the Google translate app, there is not even a place for suggesting corrections, reporting errors, or any community input, nor are there any possible alternative meanings/ results suggested (in case of multiple possible meanings or in cases when it might be wrong).

Super Helpful. Okay so my chinese grandma was cooking for us at my house and my parents were gone so I couldnt really understand her. She was asking me where the garlic was and I literally had NO IDEA what she was saying. I pulled outy phone and searched up google translate. Apparently google translate thought it was “counting feet”so i gave up. My grandma still couldnt find the garlic so i tried again. but this time i used this app. IT WORKED!!! My grandma called me smart because I found the garlic. Thanks Translate!

Aren’t apps supposed to work?. Literally nothing happens when I type in the text to translate and press the “go” button. The text simply disappears from the screen and doesn’t show any sort of translation. It doesn’t even show the original text anymore. It’s like the app resets every time you enter text and press “go.” The text disappears and nothing happens after that. Even trying to press the microphone to speak the translation doesn’t work because the microphone button doesn’t seem to do anything either. It won’t even initiate a recording to translate. It’s like this is a dud app developed solely to take up space. I followed all the directions and enabled all the permission, and still the app is a dud. Apparently it works for some people but a lot of people can’t get it to work for any language. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the languages, and deleted and redownloaded the app itself, and still it doesn’t work. It sometimes worked on my old iPhone 7, but has never worked on my iPhone XR. Maybe it only works on the newest iPhone models? As Apple’s way of forcing us to upgrade to the latest line of iPhones. But I’m not doing that. I’ll just go back to iTranslate or Google Translate instead. Those apps may collect data on me but at least they always worked when I needed them to.

Useless. It’s amazing to me that a company so dedicated to ensure all the little details are taken care of, such as Apple, would allow such a bad version of a translation app to be part of the Apple apps. Not only is it impossible to copy and paste text, but the translation is just plain bad. It’s like going back to Google translator back in 2006 when it was considered great for survival, but incredibly subpar for any type of correct translation. It’s incredible to think that the reason we don’t have a calculator app for the iPad is because they haven’t come up with a “transformational and elegant” version of it that Apple deems worthy of bearing the Apple name for the iPad, yet Apple is totally fine with releasing a mediocre version of a translator app.

Very Limited- Just Google it. Very Limited, just look at the language choices. Not easy to use, as the format is not intuitive and the screen is so reactive that I would often click out on accident. Here’s the best example for how bad this is. It can’t even differentiate what language you are typing in. If you tell the app translate Spanish to English: “Hey how are you?” The app will say the English translations is “Hey how are you?”. You are like oops made a mistake. Let me tap the English button so that it tells me the translation. It opens a new text box and you have to type it out all over again. Google can actually guess what language you are trying to use even if you misspell it. Oh and to make it worse!! They only have Spain Spanish which if you are from one of the dozens of Spanish-speaking countries, you know this is the least accessible Spanish. Or more to the point, no one in the American continent is choosing to speak Castilian Spanish so why would you use that and only that type of Spanish for translations??

Difference between Recognizing and Understanding My Voice. Two stars for basic ‘ease’ of use - if only typing simple phrases for translation. The reality is - the most common use of language on a day-to-day, person-to-person basis is the spoken language. Apple products (namely Siri) have difficulty understanding the human voice when speaking English much less a nonnative language. Quite frustrating. It’s not just me. It seems to be a widespread reality. Siri is better at recognizing my voice versus say the blender. (And that, not always.) Understanding and distinguishing words is another realm beyond Siri. To date, any app within the Apple environment that uses or especially requires Siri is going to sadly fall well short of any expectations.

App doesn’t count very well. When I entered seventy four in English it first offered up correctly, soixante quatorze. When I entered seventy four years old it managed, Soixante cinque ans, somehow coming up with the french for sixty five. It has also managed to come up with sixty-fourteen for soixante quarorze. Clearly something is amiss here. Haven’t checked any further as I don’t have the time to spend on it. Francis McCarthy. PS, I also noticed that it’s using the familiar of you, tu, when conversation is most likely to require vous. And more already, I’ve only had the app for 48 hours and I keep finding mistakes. I enter, Je suis un luthier, and it translates correctly, I enter, I am a luthier, and it tells me I am luthier. Perhaps it understands it as a name? I translate books and since I noticed some basic mistakes I have to check everything, sometimes from both directions, French/English or English/French. I have little confidence in this app.

It’s pretty good actually. I’m not sure why everybody is crying about this app. It is easy to use and looks way more professional than google translate. Although they both are good apps, i prefer apple’s voices over poor robotic voices google has to offer (for french at least). The conversation feature is by far better and that includes pronunciations. Keep working on it and it’ll be even better!

Very hard to use. Not user friendly.. You can translate from one language to English but you can’t reverse it so you can type your response and respond in their language. Google does this and it’s extremely easy. I talk to people on other languages online a lot so I thought this would be useful. This app was just wasting storage so I deleted it maybe I will reconsider once if apple looks into improving this app. Making it easier for people to talk back and forth rather than just one way translation. I understand i could change the settings every time and go back and forth but google has a button to swap. Apple does not and when I try to change it , even tho I wrote in English it kept changing it back to Spanish and not translating.

Add more language. Since this translator is specially made for iPhone then we want to say that iPhone is a global one and It has worldwide popularity and iPhone is used in almost all countries of the world, which is actually eye-catching. Looking at how no other brand of phone in the world is used, I want to tell you that there are many languages in the world that are not here, especially many countries in Asia who use iPhone a lot. Using in detail like Bangladesh,India,Pakistan these countries do not have language which is really worth understanding and I think it is very necessary so I request you that you add these languages in it as well as languages of other countries of the world.

Late To The Game, Bringing Insufficient Resources. The name of the game for Apple, doesn’t matter if it is with network sharing, network teaming, external storage capabilities, or dozens of other technologies. Apple Inc consistently comes to the table with little to nothing to offer, and when they make their initial appearance, it is wholly insufficient. The handful of languages they bring in the offering of translate are already well covered by a number of more trusted applications. You’d think they’d try to zero in on an audience where they can become invaluable, and become…invaluable. Nope, we’re going to stand over here and be ignored by everyone, while the more main players stay more main, and we gain squat in market share. F-Idiots sit under your command Timothy, scared to be brave, intimidated to be daring. Stick with hardware, your software is losing.

Doesn't even Translate correctly!!. Tried using this with Chinese and I see no pros only cons. Went back to google after a recent translation didn't even translate correctly!! Here are the reasons I deleted the app: 1) limited languages. Wanted to translate something, but found that there are only maybe 10 languages pre loaded??? And it's missing some MAJOR world languages, why? 2) super glitchy. Tried translating a few time and it just plain didn't work. 3) incorrect translations. Tried to translate 甲鱼 and the translation voice over just spelled the English translation out instead of saying the word. Wouldn't be so bad if it's the CORRECT translation, but whatever it translated, it wasn't 甲鱼! 4) no way to see the phonetics on character based languages you are translating from. For instance, Chinese: I want to verify that the phonetics of the character set I type in are correct, but there is no way to verify, or at least no obvious way. In a language like Chinese, the phonetics are important and change the meaning entirely if they are incorrect, so being able to see that you've selected the correct phonetics is important!!!

grateful, and love the layout 😍. I love this app 😁 I've been using it on my iPad for translating Spanish (and a little French) into English. The layout and colors make this a genuine pleasure to use. Eventually, I discovered that without even realizing it, I was retaining the knowledge - probably because of the ease and quality of the presentation!!! Brilliant side effect 😂 ............ FWIW, for me, this is way better than Google, and has even replaced Bing, although Bing was helpful for me as well. Apple Translate is a great app!!!!! And for me, that's gotta be the first time I used the words "Apple" and "great" in the same sentence LOL 😊 .......... Oh, and I'm relieved that it has Spanish ***Spain***. Exactly what I wanted 😅

Nah. I am using this for French, in conjunction with other apps and materials, and it does a pretty decent job of translating things well. Those are the good things. The bad things are…it’s not user friendly at all. If you’re working on something and have to get out of the app for more than about 5 mins, everything just disappears. There are no options to save anything, other than to add it to favorites, which doesn’t really work as a file. Another annoying thing is how the font jumps from normal size to giganto lettering, flipping the screen horizontally and upside down, without me touching anything but trying to scroll down ro read what I translated. When I tried to get it back to the previous screen, it somehow deleted ALL of the conversations and translations I had “stored” into favorites, and I only hit something that looked like a back-arrow. Super frustrating-I spent more time trying to figure out how the app worked, than doing my lessons. Bottom line: it mostly stinks and I deleted it. Lol

Ideal for using in safari.. Since I have this translator, I can use my safari browser to read the books. Very easy to use. Of course it’s not perfect but I believe it will. First thing I would like to add more settings, for example like always translate from English language to Russian. Do not even try to recognize any different languages. Because Right now recognizing languages is so terrible. I hope it will work better very soon. Thanks Apple team)))

TERRIBLE DO NOT DOWNLOAD. I had this translator for a long time, and it is not good. i should have let it finish sooner. sometimes when you tap the mic to speak, it will not even pick up your words and when you close the app and re-open to try again, it will still not pick up what you are saying which is SO annoying!!!!!!! it doesn’t even pick up the right words sometimes even if you are saying it clearly. very bad translator , and you should give more languages and also not just include translator from a certain region (e.g. spain, france.) work on your app, and the new update is annoying bc sometimes if you are speaking another language, it will think you are speaking something else for example let’sssy you do german to eng or vise versa if you speak english , it will think you are speaking german and if you speak german it will think you are speaking english which is frustrating so change it and maybe more people will like your app. i honestly wish i could give you CERO stars.

Would recommend!. This app is great and very helpful! Sometimes I would try to see what a word and or sentence and then I would tell my parents and brother and they would be like “What does that mean?”. Although there are some difficulties such as, if you accidentally press a different language, it would be sort of hard to get to the right language because you can’t understand what it says. But overall it is very helpful!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lot of potential.. This app has a lot of potential to be a 5 star app, but it needs a lot of features. 1- It needs a quick language switch button ↔️ that swaps the two language into each other’s positions. 2- needs a camera translator like Google Lens. 3- Automatic language selection. The app should understand what language I’m typing in, and use that as the language to translate from. 4- I love the ability to quickly translate words using a long press. I wish the feature gets merged with the Lookup/Dictionary feature and allows users to see definitions and translations at the same place.

Best translation service available for Spanish but…. This product from Apple is years ahead of all (I mean ALL) other translators. I use it primarily for Spanish. I’m irritated that Latin Spanish dominates the language but there’s no option. However, Portuguese? Brazilian only. I understand that Latin America has so many dialects and variations. However, there are commonalities from Mexico to Cape Horn. The Barcelona accent is ridiculous. No one in America is trying to sound like a Spaniard. However, someone at Apple needs to look heavily into the problem of pronombres. Apple Translate cannot properly translate with the correct pronouns. She, he, they, we, them, never translate properly. I have to feed the Spanish given to me back through, identify the problems, edit the Spanish which I’m not all that great at yet, feed it back through, and continue this process until the sentences are balanced and properly translate forwards and backwards.

Why is the best and the worst. This app works perfectly for me and it helps me with translating to the most common languages, but I would suggest more language options as well. That’s why it’s good, but why bad??: My sister has the same type of iPad with the same updates as I have, except the app doesn’t work for her and it works for me. She types in the text and pushes go, but the text disappears. The mic doesn’t work either. Developers, please help!!!

My problem with the app. As someone learning a new language I️ use this app to often translate something from my target language into my native language. My problem with the app is that if I️ want to translate something from the target language into my native language and I need to hear the pronunciation of the target language I️ am unable to do so because the app only provides audio translation for the translation itself. If I️ then try to reverse the translation where I type the word from my native language to my target language then I️ don’t always get the exact translation of what I’m looking for and therefore can’t hear how something is pronounced. I️ wish there was an option to hear the audio pronunciation for what you’re translating and what’s been translated.

Trash app. You can not switch the language over to a different language. You try and exit out, should work right???? Right??? Wrong! Literally preloads what you last had on there and it doesn’t matter how hard you try to switch the language it doesn’t work. I have tried every button and every option. Nothing works. Come on Apple step up the game a bit here. Edit: I’m not changing my rating, but I figured out how to switch languages, convoluted! You have to change the languages at the top, tap the world symbol in the lower left part of the keyboard, change the keyboard back to English, then exit out of the keyboard, go back into it, then you can type and have it translated. What?! Been laughing at this for a while now, but I had to share in case anyone else was struggling. Convinced the only 5 star reviews are from Dev’s

Can’t change the language consistently horrible user interface. Hi there have used this app for a little bit. Somewhere over two years. This app is very frustrating to use when you are using two different languages and swapping between the two. extremely difficult. it would be a very easy fix but I’m not sure why they still do not implement a feature just to swap the languages. The interface itself is relatively simple but it does not always function as expected. it just does not do things you wanted to do. I would definitely just recommend installing Google translate instead of this.

UI issues. This could be a really nice app, but the states the interface gets into are confusing. Often the app somehow gets into a state where it’s in the wrong language and it’s hard to get it to the right one. It would be helpful if the app made it plainly obvious, at all times, which language is active for translation. Often it has no indication of this onscreen. And the placeholder text (“Enter Text”) changes languages when you tap on it, further confusing which language is active. It would make more sense if the placeholder text always gave you the name of the language it’s expecting. (Like, if French is active, always put “French” in the field as placeholder text.) “Enter text” is not helpful placeholder text because your users aren’t morons. You tap on that field and a keyboard shows up! What else are they gonna do? Much better to show the active language instead.

Great translations, broken UI.. This app has fantastic potential, and its translations are accurate and natural. The interface looks like it would be good, but once you try to use it you find that it’s shockingly broken. This isn’t normal from Apple, and it’s frankly a little surprising that this thing was even released in its current state. (My theory is that we’re seeing the result of 2+ years of WFH culture.) The main two issues: it’s difficult and confusing to switch languages and to make that setting “stick”. And more importantly, the “Go” button often does nothing except close the sheet into which you were typing. This button is the most important UI element in the whole app, and more often than not it just plain doesn’t work. I’m sure the app will be fixed in time, but it should never have been released as it is now.

Put aside the petty. This app definitely needs an update. No doubt. Interface can be sort of slow but I was just with a girl from Columbia and this app is the only one that would re arrange the words properly to make a coherent sentence in Spanish. Anybody who’s not a nitwit knows than a sentence in English will almost never be in the same order from start to finish in another language and vice versa. Apple and Google always puts it in normal order. Also I just learned this app integrates with ig and others to instantly translate using their method and it works every time

They don’t have Ukrainian language. One star to this app is because they don’t have Ukrainian translation (there are over 40 million Ukrainians so you should consider)

Update made it worse. The app was better before update. I would switch between Russian and English with ease. There was a button that allowed you to switch in the text box. They removed it. Now I have to select and scroll all the way down list for Russian. It even isn’t saved as favourite at top of list. This is time consuming when switching back and forth so much

Does the job but…. Why no translate widget to put on the Lock Screen

Google translate is better. Google translate is better because it has a switch button and more languages.. if I were to try and find Dutch or Vietnamese or Ukrainian on this app I can’t whereas google translate has a lot more languages.. your better off just using google translate than this app

I hope there is a better one. Lacks user friendly functionality.

Translate disappear. When I type words and click okay all the words disappear. I have iPhone 12 pro and still the same issue. Hope to fix this issue soon because it is been like that a while.

Clunky. You should be able to easily switch / swap languages to get definitions for each language. Also, the delete function (to easily start writing a new word for translation) should be much easier. Currently it involves going back a step and manually deleting. With Japanese, you can’t get a hiragana translation when entering a kanji, only the English translation. Sometimes you want to know how to pronounce a word in both languages. Frustrating C’mon they’re evil, but just copy Google’s translate app.

Very awesome app. The translate is accurate and also I rely on it. It is really good and I really appreciate this app. I think it is better than google translate. Very good app.

This would be better but. This would help loads because I have no idea in what the other ppl say on social media. Sadly I cannot download this

A bit limited. The fact that you can’t download additional languages is a bit frustrating, for example I need Ukrainian and I can’t get it for this app which is a bit disappointing because it’s actually a pretty nice app to use.

The UI is weird. At first it looked so minimal i thought their wasn't any pinyin for the Chinese. Then I found the book icon to see more information. But you have to tap the Chinese word to see more detail of that word, otherwise you're just seeing the definition of the word you already translated into. iOS 14 I could translate straight from safari. Or iBooks? I can't remember anymore. This one has so many buttons I'll just stick to Pleco and google translator.

This is the best translate! But- Just one thing.. This is just a lot better then google translate. This has really helped me learned Korean as I always have wanted to. But sometimes the app can be glitched where I can’t change the language. But still though this is a really helpful, awesome and cool app.

Needs more languages. Please add more languages asap.

Awful UI. There are a lot of problems with the interface. A big improvement would be to add a toggle between languages so you can switch easily between language A and B.

Persian (Farsi) has 150 million speakers but Farsi is not there how pathetic!. Persian also known as Farsi, Dari, Tajiki and Hazaragi spoken in 5 countries around the world which has around 150 million native speaker is not there only a few languages are there for Apple is a big shame and pathetic. When I first saw this app I was very happy oh finally Apple has created a translate app for IOS users but finding out Persian is not there made me really sad. You can do better Apple.

Terrible. It is the most inaccurate and wrong translator I have seen so far, it only give you one translation, mostly wrong or completely out of subject while there are often many ways to translate something. On top of that the UI is very unpractical

Languages. The app is really useful however Greek needs to be added into the next update for this app. It would be really useful to all the Greeks living in Australia! Plus Greek is such a popular language how do you not already have it!!!! Please add it in!!!!

Pretty bad. Only gives a single option for a translated word? Yet another app that I have to go to Google for. Thanks Tim.

Lightweight. Does not cover enough languages. I tried but still need other apps to cover my travels. That means I will use the one with complete coverage. Disappointing due to time it has been available

Needs more languages. Good tool, simply not enough languages.

It’s… alright, but-. Why, oh why is there not a ‘switch’ option? If I want to go from Spanish > English to English > Spanish I have to scroll through the entire list of languages twice. That is literally the most basic feature of any translation app, why is it missing from this one?

Poorly design app. The conversation mode is really badly designed. If I want to convert English into another language via voice, it doesn’t seem to work in a simple way. This app is really badly designed.

Stop deleting my languages!. Please, Apple! Languages specifically downloaded for local and offline use ARE NOT CACHE and need to NOT BE DELETED AUTOMATICALLY by the system. Really sick and tired of having to re-download my languages every time I want to use this app. 🤬

Not many languages. You don’t have enough languages to even download please add more

Use to be great…now very poor. This app use to be brilliant and have so many useful features - it is now extremely rudimentary and beyond basic. What happened?

I like the Translate App.. I find it translates voice and text accurately, changing the Oder of the words from English to the other language (in my case German). The old saying about computers “ garbage in garbage out “ holds true. Meaning you need to speak clearly band write accurately. I find and love that the order of my words are changed making the sentences intelligible in the German language. I read many of the other reviews, representing your usual wingers, those making a judgment too soon and the contingent of nit pickers. Many of their points are well made but I’ve found with practice I prefer this to other apps I’ve used over the past 12 years. Good App do try it.

Good App. It’s a good app to have and it works great offline but I would like to see in the future is for Apple to add more languages. Overall, the app works great and it helps me find the words that I need to when I’m on the go.

Good but. This app is really good but add it like google translate also with the iPad Pro Tim Cook well almost every device if I press the mic button it hits space WHEN I literally hit the mic button

Needs work. This app, generally, doesn’t feel like a native iOS app built by apple. Nevermind the awful icon - the UI is terribly confusing. There aren’t enough languages and it doesn’t fit in with the design language of any other app. I’m glad they are Atleast going after google, but this isn’t quite enough to hold a torch to it

Only 18 Language???. For an Apple software application, this is just pathetic. My family’s language (Danish) is not there at all nor am I able to add it at all, AND ITS AN ONLINE SERVICE. It’s not even a matter of hardware limitations or saving storage space, it’s just simply a software choice or an ineptitude. This is seriously a shock that Apple would gate-keep pretty basic functions to only specific nationalities; when they are more than capable allowing for more languages. But instead they’d rather pile their money into completely wasted aesthetic features. Because that’s more important to them than supporting unprejudiced accessibility.

Good app, needs more work. Overall good app, but missing a few essentials. How come no widget? Google Translate has one, but not Apple Translate? Strange omission. It would be great if the camera feature could access all the camera lenses on the phone, especially macro mode. You ac only zoom in after a picture has been taken, not before. How come? I struggle to get a focused image sometimes. Lastly, instant translation through the camera without taking a photo, similar to Google Translate.

Needs more languages. I do like the app a lot for some things but There’s not much languages, like I wanna use Ukraines language but it’s not on there. I like the chatting thing though it’s cool. if google translate has almost every single language, how come this doesn’t!?! But it’s not a bad app

Favourite translations can’t be deleted. So this app automatically stores recent translations in Favourites, and when you go to swipe and delete them, they won’t go away. Not fantastic from a privacy standpoint

Not enough languages.. Why is there no Greek?? There are only a minimal amount of languages and it’s disappointing. I’m extremely surprised there’s no Greek considering many words derive from that language.

Really good. I really like this translating app and I use it a lot. Great work☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

Ok but a bit lacking in many areas. Strange that Apple would invent widgets for ios but then not create them for their own apps. To get a good translate widget I have to use google??? I use it mostly for translating between English & Japanese. So having no Romaji option seems odd when most English speakers that still need to translate Japanese are unlikely to be able to read native Kana (hiragana / Katakana) & even when you tap on a kanji it only gives you kana in the dictionary. Fortunately I can read Kana but many travellers etc would be left in the dark by this app

Handy App. I am learning to speak French, and I find this App extremely handy for quick translations from French to English. It is easy to use as it is not overly complicated.

Amazing 🤩. Amazing 🤩 I love it when I travel it is great for people

Not good enough. This as app is not as good as Google translate. I spent 3 minutes and saw it didn’t even have a quick toggle between your primary languages which is something I need to do all day in Brazil with Portuguese and English. Deleted

It good but. It’s good to learn but some of the stuff is to quick and they needs to slow down button

Best app ever. This is the best app I’ve ever translated. When I first played it I can’t stop ✋ playing it😃😃😃🙃😃😀😃 developer can you say something 👍.👽👽👽🤝🤝🤝. Awesome 😎 cool best terrific! You would love 💕 it when you play this awesome 🤩 app. Who ever made this translating app you are extra cool 😎. Well I gave it a five star 🌟 because I love 💗 it. No adds so good 😊.

This works perfectly. This is the best translate app ever! Everything translates correctly and people understand. I had an exchange student that didn’t speak much English and this app changed that, it clearly translated things. There is no ads. PERFECT

Needs more languages. I go to different countries and I went to Bali and I need to read the context of something but it doesn’t have Balinese! Moral? ADD MORE LANGUAGES

Trash. Most the time it would say things like I wish you dead when that’s not what the person texted me

Does not automatically detect language. Unlike other apps, this app does not automatically detect the language you have putted in, and there is no easy switch between the language that has being typed in and the one that’s being translated

Travelling in Germany. While it is short a few languages and features mentioned by others, converting German to English made shopping and eating out quite simple. For a free bundled app this worked well for me. Primarily used the camera feature.

No ability to copy text to another app - such as an Outlook email. The app needs an ability to copy the translated text to the Clipboard, to allow it to be pasted into a text messsge - e.g. an SMS or email. On my iPhone with iOS 16.5, I tried quickly tapping the translation theee times, to copy the whole paragraph - unfortunately that didn’t work (KymY in Darwin Australia)

Worst translation app in market. After 5 years of using iphone, I am still wondering what's wrong with terrible Apple company translation app

I can’t add another language on my iPhone. The app comes with over 20 different languages and on my phone I am not able to select any language to use it.

Not very useful. Unlike other translation apps, when translating from Japanese it won't let you enter words using rōmaji (Roman/"English" characters) - type in a Japanese word (e.g. "mamonaku") and it just displays the exact same word as the translation instead of, well, translating it. The inbuilt iOS shortcuts for this app have never worked for me.

Needs better translation for Chinese. Translation is kind of bad and not that good. Can you please work on this translator app for improvement? Like Japanese and Chinese

Translate now lousy. Used to work fine but this new to me upgrade is useless so far. Asked to translate a Spanish word to english and it just repeats the same word in Spanish. Yes I asked Spanish to English not the reverse. (Tried reverse anyway).

Finally added Ukrainian language. Thank you for added Ukrainian language 😊🥰

Needs more languages. Please add more languages.

can’t translate numbers. It can’t translate numbers even if you spell them!

Language. It would be nice to have options ,to download Ukrainian language . Thanks

Poor. iOS 16.7.2. Vietnamese is not working.

Look under. This game literally stopped my heartbeat for a second! I did not know that I was pronouncing a English word wrong…(even though I know English) I was translating it to Japanese. In the first place I was trying to say a Japanese word for lawyer And then it beeped I think I said Japanese bad word. It sent a chill up my spine when it crossed the heart My heart stopped beating… and I got really scared to use this again…(it was an auto reaction to press it multiple times too) I only use this app three times after… I just test my Japanese from Duolingo… Duolingo is way better. Even though it doesn’t teach you the words you want to know it is way better anyway… You got me really scared. Why I gave 3 stars… that’s how good it used to be😒😕

Great app. Great for school since it’s very diverse and people speak multiple languages. Would recommend for travellers too!

Why?!?!. It became completely inconvenient and unusable after the update! It's impossible to use. There was a good app, although sometimes it glitched. But now it's just unusable garbage!

App doesn’t work. What is happened? App do not work now, fix it is please

This sucks. It can’t even read what language selected words or sentences are and doesn’t even give correct translation.

French. There should be French Canadian loaded not only Paris French

I mean it’s okay-ish. There are limited language options. Also no option for Canadian French. The photo translate option is sorta helpful in some cases and sometimes it just gives me words that don’t work together.

Needs to include Ukrainian and more. Very limited languages- the list is very short. It worked ok (but not great) in Mexico for Spanish but I couldn’t use it to communicate with my neighbour who came here from Ukraine.

Why Apple?. Did you even try this app before launching? Trillon dollar company with so many careful decisions and this is what you come up with. I can do better if I start from scratch.

Extremely bad. Nothing more to say

App not working. Up until a month ago, this app was working but now—come on Apple, fix it! It won’t translate I write in English but I get nothing in Italian. Also, the keyboard defaults to my GIF keyboard. Fix it or lose it!

Language switching is broken. Switching language updates the "From" menu but as soon as you tap on the last translated (that was in another language), it switches back to it. So, effectively, you're stuck with whatever language you had translated from. Clicking on the top right grey X closes the keyboard, it does not erase the selection.

Missing languages???. Why is the list of languages so short. The app itself isn’t so bad but not very good. Anyway,ADD MORE LANGUAGES.

Delete the app and go with GOOGLE. Got the newest iPad / iOS and it crashed!!!!! Peace of advice - download google translate - it’s actually MINUS 1000 star, apple should make an exception giving the option to give negative stars

Lagguage. Hindi /Punjabi please add lagguage

Bro💀. I’m an Apple user and I can’t even get Ukrainian, Canadian French etc. add more languages💀

No Ukrainian. Where is Ukrainian as a language option?

Needs Pinyin Support. Tough to use the English to Mandarin effectively without Pinyin. Need to use another app until this basic feature is provided

Ahhh no Ukrainian?. Hosts of Ukrainian families, during this time of war, would appreciate the addition of Ukrainian language, which is not the same as Russian.

Doesn’t work.. 75% of the time, the translation will be unavailable. Works fine in deepl.

I love it. I know a lot of people may disagree but I like this app a lot, it helps my basic French skills in school a lot and can translate well.

No Traditional Chinese!?. Why don’t you support Traditional Chinese? Deleted the app right away and keep using google for now.

Works most of the time. Not bad. It works most of the time. Translations seem fairly (compared to google translate)

Google translate was better than this. Usage of this app is extremely uncomfortable. First off, when translating from English to languages that use complex characters, like 中文 (zhong wen) the written english pronuancation of the characters is not shown above or underneath the translated characters. Rather you have to click on each individual character to get the dictionary for that single character (clicking on something to get the dictionary only works in the outputed language). In addition, there is no option to immediately switch between the inputed and outputed languages. So when you have to manually change the languages, everything you wrote disappears. This is incredibly annoying if you are studying a language because you cannot see the definition for a character you inputed, since clicking on something to get the dictionary only works in the outputed language. Also, there is only 18 langauges you can choose from. So if you happen to be travelling to India for exmaple, your screwed. The only postive thing I can say about this app is the camera translation. 0 star Edit: It turns out, to automatically switch languages you just click language for the input (will have blue dot). To get the dictionary for the input you have to press the dictionary button then the input. It took me hours of usage to finally realize that. It is still fusterating that the english pronuanction is not shown underneath translated characters and the amount of languages are still limited. 2.5 stars

Sussy Baka. But I love this app! I can do Spanish or vanish, AND JAPANESE!!!!

Doesn’t work. Once it goes offline (even with language downloaded) it doesn’t work. None of the fixes are of any use either

Stoopid. Why? WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO DOWNLOAD LANGUAGES? I HAVE GOOD WIFI! DOWNLOADS DONT EVEN WORK! 😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬 Edit: Plus, I was once spamming Japanese and it just said “ I’m Sorry, I’m Sorry, I’m Sorry, I’m Sorry.”

This was a great app. Before iOS 17 this actually worked great but now it is very inaccurate and sometimes dosnt listen at all, I downloaded both languages to use offline it now it dosnt translate at all… fix your app

App no longer works. There was an update and now the app just doesn’t work, it doesn’t allow you to talk and if you type it doesn’t translate, brutal to go from a great functioning app to garbage. Now I have to use the Google translate app.

im angry.. i cannot find the estonian language menu.. is this a joke 🙂

Ça marche.. Il traduit parfaitement dans mon cas avec le français, l'anglais et l'espagnol.

Ok. I think this app is ok there's not much wrong sometimes I'll try to play roblox and there I'd spanish people and I use this half of the time they don't even know I speak English. there is not a lot of language options though, and talking in person with this DOES NOT WORK so I don't really recommend this app but it's not super bad.

Persian. Please add persian language..

When it works it’s fine. But it is really unstable and often stops working and needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled. Also it just stops working for days or weeks

Language. Hi !I was hoping you guys can add Ukrainian language for download and use offline, I will so much appreciate

It doesn’t even work, worst app.. Can’t even translate a monkey.

Clear out old translations. I wanted to clean out obsolete translations. I cannot locate prompt if there is one. Kindly advise Roger p

N/A. When selecting text to translate I get this issue: Translation is not available at the moment. Try again at a later time.

H. It’s hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

It’s okay. I use these app all the time for homework and it does the job but I wish it had more languages or different types of languages like French Canadian etc.So for me it’s not that bad but for a company that has Billions of dollars they can do better.

How can apple ship something like this. Come on apple. Fire whoever thought it was okay to ship Translate in its current form. My partner and I had a trip to Montreal and were sadden to know that this app just does not work one bit. Going to Twitter I also got responses saying it doesn’t work. How can a trillion dollar company ship something that just doesn’t work? Come on , with billions of dollars pouring in you can’t afford to have a working Translate app, that’s built on to iOS by default. Do better . Do better.

Weak. Apple engineers really need to use google assistant and translate. Apple's machine learning is joke level.

Lack of options, really bad. Just download any other app and it’ll do better, don’t use this

Buggy & Finnicky. For some reason ever time I try to translate something I have to hit the go button twice. The first time seems to do nothing other than to delete what I've just typed. Also why for large blocks of text why is it so hard to select all of the translated text to copy it? The text selection functionality seems buggy there too. The actual translations seem pretty good but it is so finnicky and annoying to use I can't rate it higher yet.

Doesn’t work offline. Every language I have downloaded (6) to use offline in “on-device mode” doesn’t work. Only when I disable this mode and allow connection to the internet does the translation work. Seems to me if a developer, like Apple, is going to have such a mode they should make sure it actually works “offline”. I would not expect such inferior performance from a billion dollar company especially since this is a reported problem on Apple Community Support Forum going back a year ago to iOS 14

Straight horrible. This is the worst translator app I’ve ever used in my entire existence The moment you open the app and go to type something in after you get it typed and press go it deletes it on the first translation when you open the app every single time there’s no switch button changing from English to Spanish nor does it actually let you switch it acts like it does and the moment you start typing it changes itself back This isn’t even worse one star

Good but I wish for one more thing…. This app is pretty good. It translates nicely and also provides the option to hear pronunciation. I just wish for one more thing: more languages!!! I speak only English of all the languages available in the app, so I would like my native language and other languages available to help me and my friends. Please update this app with this change… please!

Won’t download language. It is stuck on downloading language for months. It won’t download online or offline. I have uninstalled & reinstalled it & yet it still will not download any language whatsoever! So please fix so it will work? Or make sure your app & or updates work before you put them out! This app is useless! Every time I try to use it it doesn’t work. Either fix it to were it will work for Siri or get rid of the app!! And it’s not compatible with Safari 😡! Very frustrating!

Google Translate is better. I don’t like how you can’t flip the languages back and forth. You have to scroll through the languages to find the right one when they could’ve just easily added a flip feature. Also whenever I first get into the app and hit translate it deletes my text without even translating, so I have to retype or make sure I remember to copy the text so I can paste it when it deletes it.

Disappointed. I remember using this app a lot for Spanish class during online learning. It worked pretty well for me and I was happy that Apple had a translation app already installed. But now it doesn’t work at all. Whenever I type something it just disappears. It won’t translate anything. I even tried to type “hola” but even that didn’t work. Then I tried to type “hello” in English to see if that would work. It did not. All I get is a blank screen. It’s so frustrating and annoying.

Interface is okay but there’s one fatal error. This application does not have the ability to detect the language from just typing, you have to preselect the languages you want to translate, a small feature but it makes it slow, janky and worse than Google translate, with that feature I’m able to get clean translations all the time because the app detects the language and doesn’t make me change the settings myself, you all have to fix this, it simply isn’t worth using as long as Google translate can work better and give me translations faster

Need more Asian languages. This is very nice apps but we can use it because we need Hindi and Gujarati languages to translate. Indian will be use more Apple apps and iPhone but when they have some problems with languages if you fix this problem then all around world Indian will happy and increase your market.

Has Potential. I love the idea of a first party translator from Apple but the app itself is lackluster in execution. For example the app doesn’t have a large enough library of languages to be used in scenarios outside of Mexico and Central Europe. The app also has a glitch that thinks it’s offline weather I’m connected to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data. The auto detect feature is usually wrong and other issues arise while translating a convo between two people. Again, love the idea of Apple Translate but this needs A LOT of work before it can compete with other translators.

Can’t swap languages. For example, I set English to Russian languages and I can’t just swap them in one touch and the only way I found to do so is to set them both from the drop-down list. Another thing that seems strange to me is inability of the app to automatically recognize the input language and offer to set it. This app looks very raw to me. By the way, I found this this app in my iPad after upgrading to iOS 15 and at the same time Google Translate disappeared…. that’s weird!

Bad I think not. All those people who says it doesn’t work are just stupid you download languages from the app and then you can type in that language or see it in your letters but when you type lets you download german you would see. Americana letters but type in German so people who say it’s bad are reatarded

New version with iOS 15 made it much worse. There is no longer a way to toggle input and output languages. I will be using other apps until this changes. I regularly switch between needing to know what a word is in English or how to say a word in French. I now have to manually select the languages each time from drop downs instead of pushing a single button that flips them. Fix it. Also, make it easier to copy a translation. Scrolling over it is a pain.

My opinion. This app is a colossal hunk of crap! Comes with zero user instructions, nothing intuitive about its use. I feel as though I’ve wasted 15-20 mins of my life on just testing out it’s function because I got absolutely nowhere. I can’t even see how to clear out the text I was attempting to translate from Spanish to English so that I can try again to make it work. I just abhor shoddily created products like this one. Apple needs to remove it from it’s App Store until it’s perfect. I’m so mad right now that I spit on it!

so frustrating!!!!!. this app is absolute trash. When you go to put in a new word it keeps reverting back to the old word. When you tried to switch the primary language and then secondary language it reverts them back constantly. It is completely unusable. I have tried to force close the app and reopen it and it is stuck showing the same word and it will not move on from this word it is just stuck there forever. Like most things with Apple if it’s not making them money it’s not getting any attention.

Useless for travel. Very disappointed with this app. It was fun to use at home, as a gimmick. But do not plan to use it on a trip out of your service provider coverage area, even if you download the languages and are on wifi it will not work. So it is a translator app that cannot be used to travel? Defeats the purpose for me. Not sure if this is a bug, or the app was just not intended for travel? But then why give you the options to download whole languages? But yea, you cannot use it outside of your own country. Bummer.

It needs work. It is functional, and mostly easy to use. First off, when I try to download languages to use for offline mode, I have to download them a bunch of times for it to actually work. Second, it doesn’t have very many actual languages, I mean, at least add Swedish or Hebrew or anything else! I just want to be able to translate anything. Please work on this!!!

ugh. okay i like the simple interface here but every time i try to translate a verb it automatically thinks i'm using a noun. even when it gives the options for "which did you mean?" they're all nouns. For example if i were to type "run" it would automatically think i meant the noun form of run, like "going for a run" even though it has options sometimes for different definitions of the same word, it never provides verb form.

Saved my life !!. Thank u for creating this app so I could use this to talk with my autistic daughter since I cannot speak because I’m Deaf so I use this translator to communicate with my daughter also I do teach her my American Sign Language! But this does help lot with my autistic daughter ! Thank u !!

Not to good. In the photo shown above there is an option that you can press the camera and scan words to translate them, but my app does not include that. I don’t know why but they need to fix this bug because I have been trying to scan French words to translate them, but I can’t. I suggest trying the app if you’re having trouble with some thing, but there are definitely some better ones out there.

Speaking speed.. There needs to be an option to slow the translation down while the app speaks. 9/10 I can’t truly practice or understand the translation because it’s at too fast a speed. Also, the UI is a bit messy and aggravating when trying to deselect and retype anything in the text box. Often times it will revert to the word just typed then stay locked in the same language selection. Very very frustrating especially when using this app for a resource of languages.

Read this if this happened to you. The translate app is amazing I would use it all the time for fun or for my friends who don’t speak English, but out of nowhere I went to go use the app and it’s kicking me out of it. So I deleted it and upload it again now it won’t load which is weird bc this never happened before and if anyone can tell me why this is happening I would be glad!

Pretty bad UI. First off the UI is terrible. It would be nice to type a word regardless of language and it detects and changes it to the detected language. Secondly idk what they were flinging for with those "suggested" interpretations but I looked up the word "right" and the first thing it thought I meant was conservative right for someone reason. Then I looked up "down" and instead of the directional option of down it asked me if I mean goose down, Down syndrome, a football play, and a treeless highland. Literally everything hit the simplest definition. I had to default back to google translate so I wouldn't waste too much of my time.

Biggest waste of time. Labor intense to even write a review on this app. It says for 4+ ages. Never waste Your time. Especially your child’s, speaking must be paced uniformly with out hesitation, or the result is a splotchy translation with many errors or total, La La Land, translations of words. There are limited to no keyboard, edit tools that work like copy and paste, so that you can use the translation for a text message or a WhatsApp transmission. There’s no scroll down to copy longer typed, composed communications. He waste too much time on this app trying to overcome the problems it’s not worth my time.

HI (HOLA). I like itIt’s just that sometimes it glitches so much like pretend I wanted to trySpanish and when I turn the sound on it, just glitches not working I want to know if you can make more updates, so I cannot glitch anymore five star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star star!!!

Great potential; Needs I’mprovement. There is a lot of work to be done here. I’ll use a specific cultural example: Korean. -no honorifics used and if you take any basic translations (ie hey where is the restaurant?) you wouldn’t really speak like this to a stranger;elder. So there are cultural gaps which I’m sure most will understand, but I think the dev team needs to work with specific language experts to get the translations correct to be cultural appropriate

Sorry for getting a lot of bad reviews. Apple, I saw that you got a lot of bad reviews, and I like this app it is easy to use, and it is a good app if you do not want your storage taken up by apps. People are saying you can’t copy text which is not true, and they said pressing the go button does nothing which is also not true.

Indian language not there. India is the most popular country in the world And Indian Hindi language or {E~Punjab} language also national language Indian people mostly understand Hindi batter but there is no option for Hindi if someone want to Translater in Hindi language. I think this is not fair please there is important Hindi language options also. Thank you so much . Kindly To Apple Or App application department thanxxxx

The X button. Nearly every text field on iOS has a little X on the right hand side when typing to clear the text. X means clear text. In this app, X does not mean clear text, in fact it means submit text to be translated. Why? I have stumbled trying to use this app every single time for basic copy-paste translation. You really didn't have to be extra with the design on this one. Make it as boring and utilitarian as the settings menu so I can actually use it.

Update please!. The interface of the app desperately needs to be updated. Many times when I have tried to use the app, it takes two or three attempt before the word or phrase I am trying to translate is even registered. When I try to type in a phrase and press “go” in order to view the translation, the original phrase is just deleted without any processing and I have to retype it. After multiple attempts I am finally showed the translation, if ever. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. It has happened to me more times than I can count and I end up relying on other translating applications instead.

Issues. This has the potential to be a very good app I love the idea of having favorites translations and especially the idea of downloading the language you need to translate just in case of situations were you cannot use wifi or data, however all of that is cast aside when you can’t even use the app half the time. I’d try to the text I want to translate, hit go, and everything would be cleared and theres nothing. It has potential just please fix this

Simple and good. Easy interface for typing, speaking, or scanning. Easy switch back-and-forth between two languages. Quality of translation is acceptable. Certainly far less privacy concerns than that other program. I was an extensive user of GT, but am now switching to this.

⚠️ Danger ⚠️ (Developer please read). I am so sorry but it’s just not good and if I told you the reasons why it’s not good I probably would throw my phone across the room because it’s so bad please fix it please please please times 1 million please it’s just doesn’t have enough languages it just needs more languages and like maybe like oh my God I’m so sorry I just took my phone across the room. I told you anyway the main reason is it needs more languages soups horrible anyway peace out may God bless you.

More languages. I would first begin by commending the ingenuity of the developers of this app.. on numerous occasions it’s served as a life saver. I would like to see more languages be incorporated into it, that way it gets an even wider reach and adoption…I was disappointed to find that there’s no Czech language. Waiting earnestly for the next update, thank you 🤗

Much improved with iOS 15. I tried this translator when it appeared on my home screen after installing iOS 15. I used it to translate paragraphs from English to Japanese and was really impressed with the result! I like to use this app now, along with Deepl to see which one is most natural. As a Japanese learner, it helps me a lot with writing emails to my friend who lives in Japan.

Update from my IPad (very recent). So when I updated my iPad I got this app +another and I use this app for things. I can’t read usually small texts on computers but I would like to recommend more languages And a camera or photo. select photos or take photos with words that would you like to translate That be via camera, screenshot and paper all you need is to snap or grab a photo with your desired words you would like to translate for yourself and or others.

Horrible App. If I could give it no stars, that would still be too many. I played around with this app when I first saw it on my phone. Seemed to work just fine. The ONE time I need to use it to actually translate LIVE CONVERSATION as it unfolded… this stupid app got stuck translating ENGLISH to ENGLISH and Spanish to Spanish. It just would not catch on to the fact that I was typing in ENGLISH, hoping to get the words back in Spanish. I typed “sometimes” it responds “sometimes” gee thanks! I chose the language to Spanish, then it translated Spanish to Spanish. Great app if you already speak the language you want translations for. 🤦🏽‍♀️

iOS 15 “bug”. You can certainly toggle between different languages and it works very well I especially appreciate the face to face feature so I can talk to coworkers who don’t speak my language and the can see what I’m saying and I can see what they’re saying simultaneously.

Good But Don’t Expect Advanced Features. Unlike Google maps translate by Apple by far is one of the most bare-bones apps I’ve seen. The app works like it’s supposed to though, it’s missing a wholesome of languages & features compared to “Google Translate”. Among other things, you cannot even use your camera to translate a written sentence. Along with that you cannot even use transcribe, this makes the app in its totality to feel very bare bones/minimalistic.

Brilliant. Used to use Google translator to translate live conversations, which was a frustrating experience (major understatement). If it had the languages you need, this is so much better they are not even in the same league! I switched and not looking back.

Ehhhh. I don’t use it it translate so I can’t review it in that. But for videos it is very nice. For English I just use it for text to speech because it is clearer and faster to do then text to speech. If you are looking for a actual translator though I would say to use Google translate. Sorry apple :( Google 1 apple 0… :) I hope this review helped

Scrap it and start over. The translations are good, but the interface is just insanely overly complicated and it doesn’t have to be that way.. This is just another example of Apple trying to reinvent the wheel and failing. It’s stupid, because I am tapping on stuff and nothing happens, I can’t clear the words out and there’s no “enter” button. What’s that about? The icing on the cake is that the translations are way too fast and there’s apparently no way to slow them down or at least I can’t find it because it’s too complicated.

Needs improved usability and translations. Some things aren’t very obvious how to do in the app. For example, everyone saying there’s no way to swap the langurs: there is, it’s just not remotely obvious. When the text box is selected there will be a small circular indicator next to the language that you’re translating from, and to switch just tap the other language. This works and is clean from a UI standpoint, but from a UX standpoint it’s not clear to users (most of whom are coming from Google Translate and expecting a similar UX).

Needs UI/UX work. The underlying capabilities of this app are quite powerful and impressive. However, making good use of these capabilities can be quite difficult at times. The actual UI frequently gets stuck in strange states, such as forcing your language selection back to a previous selection, and the app will also forget your saved translations. This app feels like the senior team was tasked with the translation algorithm and the actual app creation was kicked to an intern.

Super buggy, lacks basic features. First of all, the app is hopelessly broken. Most every time I use it, it fails to do anything at all. On the occasions it does work, it seems to get translations wrong. My wife speaks Spanish with her family and I will frequently attempt to join in on group texts but the app doesn’t correctly translate Spanish-English, and according to my wife the English-Spanish translations are only marginally better. Forgot about trying to get it to recognize spoken content - if you’re speaking super slowly, clearly, and concisely, sure, but who on Earth has ever met a Latin family that spoke slowly, clearly, and concisely during a football match, or any other occasion for that matter? Google Translate has none of these issues. It also lacks extremely bare-bones features such as translating websites.

This app is so meh. I mean tbh not a bad app but the reviews say not made for online I mean ok now I was gonna use it for fun since I am online. You developers need to help them! Anyways, I used it for my roblox game since I was in a different language Btw can y’all add like for example English to Spanish. Can you add another one to translate them both at a time. It would be great! Thanks and do what the ppl say on reviews! ✌🏻Layla✌🏻

Is not helpful. I’m used to using google translate, so when I tried this I got so frustrated I just went back to google’s version. I use it for Chinese mainly, and when I see a character but don’t know what it read, there’s no writing option which is frustrating. And when I translate something, it doesn’t even give me the pronunciation!! How am I supposed to know what I’m translating then and how to say it?? And then there’s no reverse button so I can’t switch them around to figure out what it’s actually saying.

iPad interface. This app is very cool and simple, but the interface on iPad is just frustrating. The already written text disappear every new entered word, which makes complicated to work with since you cannot see if you are typing right. It is not always translating what I type and sometimes my text is just deleted. I’d like to use it as my default translator but there is no way unfortunately.

Nice app with a terrible interface. If there is an easy way to swap the languages (i.e. translating Spanish into English instead of English into Spanish) it’s well hidden in the app. As many other reviewers have pointed out, much of the rest of the interface is non-intuitive as well. It’s too bad, the actual translation mechanism seems reasonable (at least when on-line) but the interface issues greatly reduce the effectiveness of app.
