Bright - Crush Your Card Debt Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Paid off my credit card quickly. This app has been amazing at helping me pay off my credit cards quickly. Bright started to take the money out of my account (I set the amount you want to always be left in your account) and I barely even realize it was gone. In 4 months I paid off 3 credit cards. All with balances over 3k and one with a 10k balance. If you want an app that actually does something for you (and is free), I'm telling you this is it. You won't notice it's there and if you find you needed the money it took out, simply go into the app within a week of it taking the funds and deposit the money back into your account. Oh and I didn't even mention how it helped my credit having this app make multiple payments for me. Ok I'll stop here before I make a book about this app lol but seriously it'll change your finances for the better.

Probably a good app, but they left a bad impression with me. I’m sure this app is probably good at doing whatever it does, I see many people leaving good reviews. But they messed up with me when I was gett started. I couldn’t put my credit card info since I had misplaced it a while ago and I’ve been waiting for a new one in the mail. Meanwhile, these people never told me, or asked for my permission in withdrawing funds from my personal bank account. I wanted this app to help me pay off my credit cards. But in the time I was waiting for my card in the mail, I started seeing a SEA OF WITHDRAWALS coming out of my personal account. This app started a “smart savings” which is pretty nice, except for the fact that I necer agreed to that. They will simply start taking your money and putting it in the app without your permission or knowledge. I got very upset seeing money taken out, a few dollars at a time, multiple times a day with this app. I no longer want anything to do with this app. Do not mess with people’s money and start taking it unauthorized. There’s already little trust in corporations having our personal information, and I was really pussed off to see you guys meaaing with my money. No thank you. It’s also impossible to delete your account info and even the whole profile itself. I have not found a way to do so and am trying to talk to customer service about this. Be informed before downloading this app.

Scam app, fake reviews. Customer support is not existent with fake bots. Impossible to “turn off” any withdrawals, unlink credit cards or even delete anything without is stating “oops something went wrong”. It won’t let you delete anything unless you go through a representative who will be of no help. They will drag you around for months. To make things worse don’t fall for the credit builder loan option with the up to 8000$ balance transfer. I had 4/5 payments completed. I messaged several time about why it stoped back in august and I get met with same email “I will relay this to our team” it is now November and still no withdrawal. Yet when I complain and request to get all my funds back they are magically available to try and help again. Waste of time & money. Do not fall for this app. They will keep you as long as possible to take as much as they can with broken promises. Beware.

Good luck talking to customer service. I was really excited to try this app. I went through all of the steps to set everything up and it was pretty glitchy. I had to try three times before my bank accounts were connected and then it asked for my ssn and I entered it and it said that it couldn’t verify it. I know it was correct and even if it wasn’t, the box popped up so fast that I knew there was no way it was even sending it. So I tried using their chat feature and got no response, restarted my phone, waited a day, tried the chat feature again, called and left a voicemail, waited another day used the chat feature again, left another voicemail and at this point I thought to myself “Do I really want a company to have access to my bank accounts who I can’t even get into contact with?” Finally I emailed and chatted “PLEASE CLOSE MY ACCOUNT!” And after 5 days I finally got an email yesterday saying that my account was closed. No apologies, no questions about what happened. Safe to say, I would 0/10 recommend this app or company

HORRIBLE customer service and predatory company!. Please avoid at all costs for your own sanity and financial health! I’ve never had such a negative experience with a business as I have with Bright. I have reached out to this company 10+ times over the last several months, and have not been able to contact a live representative once. I have requested to cancel my account and delete all information, but have never received an actual response. The app does not function properly and continually disconnects and glitches. I have reached out by email, phone, chat, and have now sent multiple physical letters to the business address due to lack of response. The one response that I did receive from a representative was an apology for their delayed response and an indication that Bright would not negatively impact my credit score in any way. However, Bright continues to report "missed payments" that are affecting my Equifax credit report, despite the fact that my payment history reflects as 100% on the Bright app. I have now submitted an official dispute with Equifax against Bright for false information reporting. Do NOT use this company!

Don’t put your bank info in!!. The app is advertised like a line of credit that will be paid over a few months to build your credit and then a larger amount would be unlocked for you to use to consolidate/pay off credit card debt. I was supposed to be charged 6.99 per month but before I had even gotten a chance to use the app, I was charged $40+ that came directly from my account because they ask for bank info first. One would assume they want banking info first to get you set up and make sure that you have enough money deposited into your account each month or something to that extent. The money they took out was not available and it over-drafted my account. I emailed shoo-in regards to this and was told that I would receive a refund of my $40+ and that a request would be submitted to refund my overdraft fee. Of course it’s been a month now and I cannot get a response from anyone anymore. I also tried reaching out through the chat…NOTHING. Please don’t give these people your money.

Good Until It Stops Working. This app (in theory) provides a great service with an easy way to keep track of your credit score, how much is in your bank account and uses rounding up to put money towards credit debt. However, it is nearly impossible to communicate with customer service if you have any issues. The credit builder account which is supposed to have you pay back $50 over time to improve your credit score never worked, even though I activated it within the app. You can contact customer service through a chat bot, but ultimately have to email someone and the responses I got were disjointed and did not address the issue I was having. My credit score stopped being updated and roundups keep being sent to a credit card that has already been paid off, and my emails to customer service have not been responded too. While this app purports to provided a service which is good in theory, the execution isn’t there and it’s ultimately more of a hassle than anything else. Extremely frustrating when you are trying to take steps to actively take control of your money.

Horrible app. App is completely useless. I’ve set up smart roundups at least a dozen times. Verified my account is set up and linked properly but it never does anything and then acts like I never set up smart round ups in the first place. I also set up a savings goal and nothing with that ever happens. I contacted support chat once and they never responded to me and sent me an email saying it would occur when the card payment was due, which never happened. Contacted support again for the smart round ups issue. Never helped me. Contacted third time, finally got someone in chat to respond. They asked me a question, I responded back right away, then got no response for several minutes just for the chat to close saying they couldn’t help me. How is that when they never responded back to me. They sent me an email follow up the next day, I responded to that then they never got back to me by email either and closed that out as well. App and customer service is horrible and I’ll be deleting app unless I can finally get some assistance.

Great idea - when it works. I’ve tried to use this app off and on for about two years now, and it’s like that friend you complain about a lot but can’t quite decide to get out of your life. In the handful of months it has worked properly, it’s a lifesaver. Seriously. I have really large minimums on some credit cards and being able to break that up is phenomenal. But the app requires constant monitoring because it constantly misfires - not withdrawing enough money, randomly cancelling payments, due dates and balances not updating automatically so payments don’t get scheduled in the first place. The support is okay and always restarts everything but that process takes several days every time, creating additional disruptions with withdrawals and payments. I really want it to work correctly because it’s unbelievably helpful in the months where it has functioned the whole time. But unfortunately those are very outnumbered by months with problems as of now.

This app WILL take your money before you even decide to use it!!!. I have been trying since May 11, 2023 to get a refund! This app will trick you into thinking you’re just checking out the plans, but they WILL charge you and keep your money before you even decide that’s what you want to do! Not only that, but it’s very shady about these “monthly plans”. They boast a small charge of $7.41/monthly, BUT what they ACTUALLY mean is they’re going to charge you for the entire YEAR. (This is specified in a VERY FINE, LIGHTLY PRINTED print at the bottom of the page, and I was not wearing my glasses, so OF COURSE I didn’t see it.) Regardless, I wasn’t even aware that I even signed up in the first place!! I looked at the plans, but I hadn’t signed up, or so I thought! I was l charged $88 out of the blue and of course had to investigate to find out what in the world was going on!! I have been emailing their poor excuse for “customer service” since the 11th of May! And I had to send MULTIPLE emails to get anyone to respond!! And now they’re saying my issue has been resolved, because they cancelled my “membership” that I never used nor signed up for! They will not respond in regards to a refund, and I sent a third email today regarding this! It’s absolutely ridiculous! I feel completely taken advantage of! If you are going to use this app, be VERY VERY careful!! And good luck if anything happens and you need assistance! Customer service is a complete joke!

Good idea, but not for everyone. Long story short, I had almost $300 taken out of my checking account and bright was to pay it toward my credit card...the only problem is 3 weeks later my credit card issuer reached out and said they had not received a payment for the month and now was overdue. I thought bright paid my credit card weeks ago? Hmmm. Basically Bright had taken my money and for whatever reason the payment never made it to my credit card. It was still processing and the “estimated date” bright said I should expect to see the payment go through kept getting pushed back every day. I reached out to support and they were able to reverse the funds back to my bright account which from there I could transfer back into my checking account. Thankfully I got my funds back today and closed my bright account. I think the app is a great idea but it didn’t work for me at all, i’m just better off paying it off myself rather than have a 3rd party do it for me. Support was very helpful but i’m sad it was a below average experience. :(

Don’t waste your money doing this.. * Giving 1 star only because something had to be giving to post this review. This company is terrible and will take you money as someone said in another comment. I didn’t even know they were withdrawing funds out for the membership. The bigger issue is they have no response with any inquiry other than the automatic responses. Even though it states they will respond in 2 mins. When trying to call the number on their website it ring once then busy signal. I paid for the service on 6/5 and do not like the customer service above anything else so I put in a cancellation notice 6/8. 3 days! It’s giving SCAM!! I want a full refund. I have never experienced such terrible service from a company I’m paying for. **Update since response** Stop the CAP. I just fully cancel my subscription because when I initially submitted a request to cancel my subscription it was in a “pause” status. I didn’t want to pause button cancel. But if you had great records I would be on the log for 2023…. Run me my funds back. Thank you

This app has a few quirks, but it’s absolutely being a lifesaver for me.. There are a few bugs in this app, and I’m unsure how the algorithm that’s being used is determine the amounts it does on the days it draws on my account. Some days, I’ve had two withdrawals taken out of my account on the same day. Others, they take a few hundred (which seems extreme, but based around my pay schedule, actually works out just fine for having enough leftover to last me until the next payday). And the fact that it automates the payments to my cards, so I’ve grown accustomed to the balance I see in my checking as my *actual* budget is so extremely helpful. This app has a lot of promise, but over the last month, it’s been really helping me a lot. It’s lowered interest charges over pay periods and even refunded the minimum payments on one of my accounts by the way it handles payments. If you’re struggling with managing debt and a budget, this app is really worth a try. I do hope they develop even more features and fix some of the bugs. Will be keeping my eyes on how this helps my credit score!

Informative and functional app BUT….. Bright has been great in terms of helping me keep track of my credit card balances all in one place. I do think it might have helped boost my credit a few points here and there but nothing super substantial yet, and that’s that I’ve been doing their credit builder program for at least 8mo now. The thing that is a bit frustrating however is that they lure you in with the offer of once you’ve completed x amount of payments and qualified, you will be given a line of credit essentially to transfer your card balances over so you’re not paying all that interest. Well, I completed the 5 required months forever ago however I haven’t even been given an estimate as to when I might qualify to transfer my balances. There’s a bar which tells you the percentage of how close you are but there is no sure way to know what variables it’s measuring to qualify you. My percentage stayed the same for like 2mo then all of a sudden jumped up less than 10%. So if you already have fairly good credit and are trying to make it better this will probably be most helpful to you. But if you have lower credit or higher card balances it may not work for you as quick as you’d hope.

Awesome AI paid down my debt automatically. This app is awesome! Really helped me pay down my debt, without me even noticing! Today I checked. Only been using Bright Money for 3 months and paid off 1 card. Thank you xoxo! Bright automatically saved money from my checking account, and paid my credit cards at the background! The AI worked so well, never overdrafted me. They even got all the due dates right so I never missed a payment. Credit cards are so easy to get, but so hard to pay off! Geez how would I know that credit card minimum payment is meant to keep me be indebted forever. And every card has a different due date. Sometimes I went to vacation and forget... then boom got charged late fee of $39 and then interest rate! I felt I would never pay them down. Then I joined Bright and I feel hope again. There was a couple of times I had to contact customer service - so nice and patient. Highly recommend for everyone.

Another under delivering finance app.. Pictures speak a thousand works. Go to my Google Maps review of Bright Capital, Inc. to see the screenshots of the circumstances described below: I’ve paid into this service with their annual fee of ~$89. To start off; the phone number they list on Google immediately says; “your call could not go through, please try again later.” The other phone number on their website when you select, “Phone,” is a pre recorded robot message that ends with , “No agents are available to take your call.” I thought maybe my number was black listed from them or something so I’ve even attempted to use my wife’s phone and the same circumstances apply. Their online chat service has repeatedly produced nothing and again; a pre written message says I’ll receive an email “within 24hrs.” I’ve checked daily for an email and even made sure it wasn’t in my junk folder. I am beyond frustrated by this company’s marketing proclaiming “real people” and “respond within a minute.” If I had the power and energy I would sue this company over these circumstances. Ultimately I want someone from this company to fulfill the promises they make to their PAYING customers.

Worst customer service available.. I was promised and told 3 times that I would get refunded because they charged my account AFTER I cancelled my subscription, this resulted in a negative balance in my bank account of (160) because they’re charge screwed up my math and cause a domino effect of overdraft fees! After 2 weeks of genuinely struggling to contact them, I was promised a refund by two different people, I have screenshots and everything to prove the transactions and overcharges. I got told “dont worry, I’ll take it from here” from Ava in guest service, after initially getting told by Andrea in guest service that the issue would be resolved, and yet I never got my refunds and than got completely IGNORED BY CUSTOMER SERVICE, they genuinely hung up the phone before even talking with me and than made it so that I can’t reach guest service through the app chat, I HAVE to email them, to which they continue to ignore me! So long story short, after I canceled my subscription with the app I continue to get charged fees which resulted in a cash loss of (160) which I guess I’ll never see again, which I cannot afford to never see again. So I guess I will be eating rice for the next few months. No thank you for your help. I’m so upset, and honestly sad. 10/10 would never recommend this app.

One of the best apps I have found. I don’t want sure how I would like this app, I have tried many different apps to build my credit and only a few I have liked. I was pleasantly surprised by what a difference bright has made for me. I don’t even notice the small amounts they use to pay my card, and couldn’t believe what had been paid on my card, and what was saved in my stash without me even having a clue! They only use small amounts that you won’t notice and I have never had an issue. Low balance-no withdrawal. I swear I haven’t noticed a single withdrawal! But my FICO score is up 39 points so far because my credit usage decreased so significantly, and I have extra money saved in my stash for a tough week or month. I recommend this to anyone needing to get ahead on their credit accounts or improve their credit score.

Disappointing. I’ve been using Bright for going on 8 months now and it has done nothing for me. The biggest reason I got it in the first place was in hopes of getting the credit line, primarily to increase my overall credit line, and secondarily for the balance transfer. My payment history was already in good standing. I was in the process of a job hunt after leaving a job I was very unhappy with. After burning through my savings, I ran my credit cards into the ground until I finally ended up in a MUCH better position. Obviously climbing your way out of debt takes a while. I wasn’t approved for a credit line with Bright upon initially signing up. I was okay with this because of my low credit score. I have since raised my score by over 50 points (on my own, by making huge payments on my credit cards, so Bright gets no credit for this) and have brought my CCU down by over 10% since then. And I still haven’t been approved for a credit line for balance transfer? I’m very close to going from Fair credit to Good credit and I still can’t get the help I was looking for from Bright. At this point I’ve basically just done everything on my own and wasted money on a subscription that has done literally nothing to help me with my situation. Maybe others had a good experience, but in my experience Bright did nothing but disappoint.

Bad support.. The app work when I first sign up. I closed the account because I wanted to add a new address and update other info. Keep in mind it’s only within 2 days. Came to find out when trying to reopen a new account they block my Capital One accounts from being link. I was curious so I tried to link my Boa and my wife Capital One and it work but when trying to link my own which work wonderfully on the closed account. My checking and 3 card showed up. Contacted their support which is almost no edited in the chat “2min” wait time. After 15-20 min auto reply will kick in and the state they will email you. Tried their “2min wait time” throughout the day for multiple days. Same reply after 15mins of silent. I called CO to make sure there weren’t a block. CO confirm there were no block to Plaid or anything and my account is clear. Bright support keep giving me the run around without straight answer to why I can’t link my CO on the new account. App seem promising but with that kind of support backing it I wouldn’t even waste a dollar a month.

Try this app! You’ll be happy you did…. I downloaded this app with the intention of just scrolling through it because I thought the description seemed intriguing, but I ended up signing up for the whole deal and I’m so glad I did. Also it’s late at night on Christmas Eve right now and I had opened up their chat bot because I just had a quick question, I wanted to verify something, and to my complete shock I immediately reached a human being who was extremely friendly and helpful, honestly it was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. So for anybody who wants to save money or maybe you want someone else to take care of your credit card payments for you, or maybe you need any of the other countless helpful things this app offers, you should try it!! Trust me there’s nothing to lose, if you don’t end up needing them you can just delete it, truly there’s no downside :)

Best in its Class. I’ve tried out a few apps similar to this. I ended my relationship with all of them in less than a month due to various bugs and integration issues. I’m so glad I found Bright! It’s all I will ever need for credit card management. The algorithm is seamless. I never realize the money has been removed from my bank account. My cards are all paid on time or early. I used to be hesitant to use all of my credit cards because I didn’t want to forget a balance on one of them. But now I don’t have to worry about it! My credit is soaring because I’m actually using all my cards, and Bright is making sure those balances get paid strategically so I pay the least amount of interest. I’m pretty OCD with money management. I use the Ramsey+ app for budgeting and I categorize every purchase I make. I’m so glad I finally found a credit card management app to supplement my financial planning - an app that actually works and isn’t lacking anything!

Horrible support - FRAUD ALERT. **UPDATE** Do not put money into this app. It has been iver a month and they removed my bank account with no way to re add it. They also promised a refund of my subscription fee and the money i put into the credit builder. After 1 month and daily emails i am getting nothing but the run around from them. I just want my money back, money that doesn’t even belong to them THEY HOLD YOUR MONEY HOSTAGE App was great the first 3 months. For the past month I can’t get my checking balance to update. Can’t use the app to pay my credit cards since the checking balance is incorrect. Been chatting with support for weeks, i get a new person everyday. How hard is it to allow me to do a fresh relink for my checking????? Im about to miss my 5th on time payment if my account doesn’t get relinked I cant even cancel because without my checking linked, I can’t even get my funds out of their app Update: Developer responded to my post but don’t be tricked. I have tried daily for nearly a month to relink my bank account. It doesn’t work yet they keep telling me “do a fresh relink.” You get nowhere with them UPDATE - nearly 2 weeks have gone by and still no refund like the promised. They still won’t release the money i put in the app

Horrible.. At first I thought the idea was pretty cool, but then I noticed things I didn’t like. For example the app is constantly being disconnected from my bank and it doesn’t tell me when this happens until after many weeks - right now I noticed it was disconnected back in Nov and just never reconnected it again because I feel like I have to do this multiple times a month, and today I just got a text message from bright telling me there was a bank issue. At the end of the month when things are due. So they should work on letting you know the bank disconnect after two days. Second thing is I have a minimum limit set.. when the bank was disconnected and reconnected, bright took more than it should have past the min amount and then overdrafted me. Third thing is the monthly fee I don’t recall ever agreeing to. It’s $10 a month. I feel like it’s a hidden charge - and finally. The first month it made sure to save extra and actually pay down my debt on my one card.. then after that it was only making minimum payments and not paying anything extra, but making sure to save enough for their monthly fee. Needs a lot of work.

Absolute waste. This is such a waste of money and has done nothing but create more stress in my life. You don’t get credit line increases like they say. Then there’s the fact that is near impossible to change your bank account and remove the old one. Which is even worse cause then “bright doesnt work until the account is reconnected” even though I don’t even have the bank account anymore. So I’m paying $10 a month plus repaying the measly $200 they lent me for nothing. Oh and they randomly take money out of your account for “savings” and you can’t turn it off. And the money ends up being taken and goes towards paying them back anyways. I’ve had to deal with 2 returned payment fees in two days trying to pay my actual credit card bill that they were supposed to help me pay off cause of these random withdrawals. Then to top it off, customer support is absolutely non existent! I have tried to contact them numerous times about these issues and have gotten no response whatsoever. Not from the chat option or email. So just pay off your card the normal way. This will hurt you far more than it’ll help

Falsely advertise just to get money from you. First of all, if only i can give zero stars I will do it. I joined and downloaded this app and created an account because I was so convinced that it will help me anyway specially my credit score. I joined 6 months ago, because on their advertisement within 6 months (6 payments every month) their Credit Builder “will help you“ build and make up for your credit score fast and back up. Well, now 6 months after nothing happened. I paid $99 for the starting membership and within that 6 months nothing is happening. They’re just wasting people’s money making everyone believe that there will be a change in your account after joining them. I just reached out to them that I want my refund back because nothing is changing on my account and it’s just stuck there and their customer service will tell me that they couldn’t give me a refund just because it’s more than 30 days. BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOTHING IS HAPPENING! Then you guys won’t give me my money back? So do not download this guys and if you still download it and want to try, goodluck on wasting your money for nothing.

Terrible customer service. At first I liked this app. It seemed pretty straightforward to use. But over time it just wasn’t very effective for me. The algorithm couldn’t seem to grasp my income schedule, so the auto savings/payments were sporadic and ineffective. So I reached out to cancel. When I hit the cancel button in the app it directed me to a chat bot. There’s no phone number I could find anywhere, just a chat bot. After many hours the bot finally responded, telling me I needed to pay off the bright money loan before I could cancel. Ok fine, I paid it off. After a few days that payment went through so i messaged the chat bot again “please cancel my membership”. I got a response after a few days that it had been cancelled. A month later they debited my account for the membership fee, so reached out again requesting cancellation and a refund. No response. Another fee. Finally I get a response saying someone will email me in 24 hours to assist. Days later and still no email. I used the cancel button in the app again but no idea if it will actually work. I’m alarmed I gave so much personal financial info to an app that seems to run very poorly.

Don’t download this app. DONT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. Been trying to cancel since i downloaded. Didnt ask me to join just said to put bank info to see statements and reoccuring bills and hidden memberships then ALL OF A SUDDEN my bank account said i was paying for a membership for Bright, Very Sneaking and it caught me by surprise. So in a panic i tried to cancel and contact them through the app. And It was SO FRUSTRATING. I wasnt able to to get a hold of someone. I have 5 diffent messages in my chat of me trying to get a hold of them. First message through the app with an automated message saying i need to give my number to text then anothe automated message askejngnfor my phone number so they can call me. The Anothe rautomated message saying if i need to make any changes to my account to i have to do it through email. To this day i HAVE NOT SPOKE TO ANYONE REGARDING MY ACCOUNT AND CANCELING. Horrible customer service. Then Only to come to find out MONTHS LATER i could have done it in my account the whole time. Just cancels today and will never do that again. Very shady of them. And their customer service is basically NONE!👎🏼 HORRIBLE APP Scammers.

Ripped me off. I downloaded the app and on the initial sign up page where it explains the fees I tapped X to close the page. Some apps let you pass the sign on screen so you can take a look but restricted. I started using the app thinking that it was probablya restricted free version and the price would pop back up eventually. I didn’t tap ok or anything in accepting the trial. At some point I forgot the app existed. Everything they offered wasn’t happening. I started cleaning out my phone beginning with deleting accounts so I would t get emails and then the app and that’s when I saw the annual fee. I contacted their customer service department and was told that my trial time had ended so I could be refunded but they would continue to monitor my accounts. I don’t need any one to monitor and well what about that you didn’t deliver? I requested a refund for at least half of the fee since I had an active account for a few months and was told they’d pass it up the ranks and see what they could do. Crickets….

Won’t give a refund but playing mind games. Three months ago I spotted a charge on my bank statement for almost $100 and looked where it came from. Bright money was the culprit! So I downloaded the app, made an account and reached out to thwm. This ensued a three month long fight to get my money refunded. I shared screen shots of the charge and my bank statements and I have been run around for three months now with still no refund in sight! Every time I manage to talk to someone, they in the end agree that I could be refunded but then they don’t follow through, and the next person says something else!! They initiate a refund just for it to drop off the next day or just not actually go through. I get emails with blank pages, when I get any emails at all; it’s always something different that I am told. I have jumped through so many hoops and tried to be as patient and kind as possible but I have never had such a poor experience With an app that I had never even downloaded until after the charge appeared! Don’t do it, the customer service is horrible and they will charge you and not even apologize if you don’t want the service they provide! I’mSo done with right money! I just want my money back!!

BRIGHT-HELP DESK. This is the worse help desk I’ve ever interacted with. This company is handling its consumers money and should have agents at the phone on standby to help customers experiencing issues. Im 22 and have no problem interacting with a help desk via the bright messaging system but my problems are never addressed. I’ve been told agents would contact me via email and no response was ever received. Ive been told an agent would be calling me to resolve my issue and I never heard from an agent at bright. Ive even been told my issue had been resolved when it still was very much not resolved. Note: (Money from my “funding account” was actually being pulled from one of my seperate bank accounts with the same bank.) This caused me to overdraft mutiple times costing me $80 in overdraft fees. The first time I caught this I gave bright the benefit of the doubt and contacted the help desk. They looked at all my banking information i reprovided and they notified me it had been resolved. I received another overdraft fee 2 weeks later. This has been a very frustrating experience with an app that is supposed to help build a better finacial life for its customers.

Amazing Customer Service. When I signed up for Bright I was immediately impressed with how straight forward everything is. From the layout to the detailed debt management plan. Everything was very clear and understandable, which is sometime rare with these things. What impressed me the most was the immediate human representative response I received. I had a question about my account so I opened the chat window to contact support. This was all done at 2am so I expected to go through a lengthy auto response but was shocked that within seconds I was connected to an actual person! My questions were answered quickly and it was nice to actually get a response that wasn’t automated or simply directing me to an FAQ page (especially in the middle of the night). Can’t recommend this app enough if you’re looking to manage your debt and know that they have your back!

Great concept, poor implementation. I like the user interface of the app and the ease of connecting all your accounts to have a good overview. I was interested in doing the Credit Builder program and I signed up. I was charged $99 for a membership, I was never given the option to choose the monthly fee instead, it all got charged at once. I’ve been waiting weeks for the Credit Builder program to begin and so far nothing has happened. In a nutshell, they loan you $50 and you pay it back in 5 $10 payments to build your credit. This is supposed to reward you with the ability to perform a balance transfer of up to $8000 to a Bright Money line of credit. It would be amazing if it would actually work, but after contacting the company on two separate occasions and never hearing back, it’s hard not to think this is a scam to just get your $99 and run. I was able to escalate my concerns and they said they would be issuing a refund of the $99. I also deleted my account and am disappointed that it didn’t work out, but glad they addressed my concerns. Update: Here I am over a week later and the refund never came. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. This is what happens when AI is left to run a business

Julie-don’t download!. It tells you that you will have a 10 day trial and will be charged monthly for 6 months at a time. This is not the case. They charged me the entire 6 months 2 or 3 days after opening the account with no warning! They also took the $10 for the savings account on the same day. When they took all of this, it overdrew my account. I sent messages in the app and received a response via email many hours later, when it said it would be 1 hour tops. The first 2 emails basically said they are sorry. I had to write 2 more to receive a response that they will credit me the 6 months they charged yet didn’t address the $10 or the fact they cost me $70 in insufficient funds fee and now it looks like I cannot budget my money to creditors! I am still waiting a response, the money and for someone to address the fact they made a mistake and have caused me to have a negative balance!!!! I cannot express how angry I am!! Don’t use this app!! There are many, many others that have the same features and more, for less money, and actually do what they say and actually have customer service!

Not following the mob on this one. This program is so convoluted; it simply makes no sense. I see reviewer‘s talking about how great their customer support is. What support? It doesn’t exist. I have been trying to get answers for a month and a half and their chat system simply says there’s no one available, and they will reply in 24 to 48 hours via email, but I’ve never gotten a single response. They take odd amounts out of my bank account and put in places like in my “stash” for seemingly no reason at all. I had $2.73 moved to my “stash” yet it was taken out of my bank account THREE times. And when I questioned it - no response. My “credit limit” was supposed to increase after 30 days. I watched the days tick down and then NOTHING! The days starting ticking down again from 30. It simply makes no sense. I started out asking for guidance and better instructions through the Chat app (which is the only way to get support) and I got no response. Now I am simply trying to cancel my account ($9.99 a month) and my only two options are to keep the account or to chat with support - you know where that got me. I’m afraid there are people out there trusting this app when they are really being taken a few dollars at a time and getting ripped off.

Awesome app BUT my accounts keep disconnecting. I really love this app BUT my accounts keep disconnecting which is the reason for giving it a 2 star rating. I reached out to Bright for assistance but they were NO help. After troubleshooting the issue on my own I found that if I updated the password to my account that disconnected and re-entered the new credentials in the Bright app the account successfully reconnected. Well when I logged in to the app this morning (just a few days after re-establishing the connection to previously disconnected account)I found it disconnected AGAIN and another account also disconnected. I logged into the accounts and changed the passwords and re-entered the credentials in the Bright app but no luck. I keep getting a message saying the accounts are already connected BUT they are not. This is so frustrating because the whole reason I opted to download and use the app is for the convenience of having everything in one place, using the automated payment option and bonus, I love how the app automatically saves money for you. Not sure this app is for me at this point. Previously I paid my accounts through automatic payments and I may just have to go back to doing that at least until Bright improves on their customer service and fixes this bug. I really want this app to work, ugh.

Too much to say.... They drain your bank account. you can’t have extra 5 dollars on your account because they will withdraw it and start making payments non-stop. So if you want to have spare money bad luck. They don’t pay attentions to your credit cards they just pay, pay and pay till the point that they sent a $222 payment to a credit card that had $0 balance so now I have a credit card with $-222. Make no sense. They did it couple times and I called them but they don’t really care and still sent payments to the credit card with a $0 balance. They just send an email apologizing but they don’t really do anything about it. The point to have this app is that you shouldn’t have to call them to let them know which and how much to pay on the credit card. (Which I did few times because they were sending payments to a card with $0 balance) They only good thing is that they give me a $1500 credit with a little lower APR to pay off couple credit cards. better than nothing. But Still I give 1 star for the horrible customer service and for not being carefully with sending payments. UPDATE: their response is always the same to every bad rating. (Copy and paste) It seems that they don’t really read our concerns. Another reason that confirms the 1 star rating.

One of the Best Apps ever!. I love this app! It does exactly what it promises in the best way. It takes small amounts from your bank ( in little bits that I don’t even notice or affect me) and just sends them straight to the CC companies to pay down your balance. I literally don’t have to think about it at all, ever. I’ve tried other apps that try to take small amounts for payments or savings, but their systems are so irregular and annoying, they end up taking bulk amounts at the most inconvenient times. Never had this problem from this app. Bright has got it right. I’ve had this app for less than two months have it’s nearly done paying off a $200 balance. My only suggestion would be to be able to manually add other types of accounts to save to or pay off. I just want to use this app for all my financial needs!!!

Just DON’T!!!. It was my understanding that I was borrowing money at lower interest to pay off my credit cards and paying Bright back instead but instead I was only getting further in debt by still having my credit cards and adding a membership fee to Bright. Not the “Brightest” idea for someone trying to get out of debt. They charge you $36 for 3 months at a time BEFORE you even start their membership that you have no idea about and it’s just a scam to take your money. If I wanted to just enter into a membership that rounded up all my purchases to the next dollar amount and put that into a savings account I would just use the FREE savings account I have elsewhere. This is hugely false advertising as it isn’t a pay off credit at a lower interest rate because I’m literally using my own money EVENTUALLY that’s saved up to pay the credit card debt while I’m still currently paying the debt until I’ve saved a penny here and a penny there to pay the debt off myself at the same high interest rate. My advice to anyone looking at this thinking this will help you consolidate and have lower debt DON’T DO IT! You are just incurring more debt.

How has anyone has a good experience?. I don’t normally write reviews first off in fact, I think this is my first one for the App Store. But I wanted to say there’s all these great reviews I don’t know how because I think it’s a scam I tried to cancel my account the very next day after starting this account and when I was on the chat, not only did I get disconnected because I didn’t answer quick enough from the person who was helping me but I can’t get anybody back on the phone now I can’t get them on chat I can’t get them on email and they keep sending me sending me the same stupid email telling me how to cancel my account about five or six of them in a row, when, in fact, by the time I was helped, there was a guy that help me and he did say that I had no worries that he would make sure the account was canceled because they kept sending me a link that was broken to cancel it. They said 2 to 3 days for a refund so I’m almost 100 bucks right now and here we are six days later and still nothing and I can’t even get a response from anybody now.

Unresponsive & unreliable. I signed up for this thinking it would help pay my credit card down. The whole app makes you believe they will pay your credit card bill automatically every month and they will refund a late fee if it so happens to be late. Two of my payments weren’t made and when I reached out to customer service I didn’t get a response until my third try. They didn’t resolve anything or answer any of my questions, just said there was insufficient funds in my account so they weren’t able to pay my credit card bill for me even though they charged me over $250 to set aside for those exact payments. My credit took a hit because of the late payment history and I never got a refund for the late fees. Their credit builder line of credit doesn’t work either. My money has been sitting there for over two months with $2.78 left to pay in order to finish the loan and it won’t let me manually pay the remainder. Once again, no response when I reached out for help. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Horrible!!. This app has taken money and it doesn’t say where on the app or when it would take money from your bank account. It hasn’t posted to my credit cards, it was quick to take it out I’ve only had the app for a few days. I don’t agree with your response. One of the “team members” I chatted with on the app about my frustration just kept saying he understood and bright is a young growing team. BEFORE YOU HAVE PEOPLE LINK THEIR ACCOUNTS YOU SHOULD TELL THEM WHEN THEY SHOULD EXPECT THE MONEY TO BE TAKEN OUT. This is literally still ridiculous. I had my “goal” taken out of my bank account last week and I didn’t know that they automatically take money out I just believed I would be able to click and take my OWN money out when I thought be best. They told me last week they were waiting for it to post and then it would be transferred back. Couldn’t tell me how many days even thought they were very quick to take it out. I got a message from Bright through my email today that it would be reversed in 4 to 5 business days after I finally emailed bright and told them I thought it was ridiculous that they couldn’t tell me when the funds could be refunded. May I remind anyone who reads my review a only had the app for 2 or 3 days before they initially took the money out and now it’s taking over a week to be reversed.

Great concept, terrible outcomes.. I have been with Bright a little over 6 months (primarily to help build credit) and from the start I was not aware of the service fee of $10 to maintain the program on top of your monthly $10 payments. Secondly, I was informed that after 3 on time payments I would be eligible for a balance transfer after 4 months hit I reach out to their customer service department to inquire about the eligibility and they stated my score was not high enough to offer… ok that’s fine still misleading though.. Thirdly I have been with the program over 6 months now and the credit builder program is technically “completed” after 5 successful payments & is stated to report to credit bureau AFTER completion. It has yet to report, I have reached out to customer service NUMEROUS times & only received generic scripted responses. Nothing helpful at all. Though their CS support has improved it has been a struggle the entire 6 months to get any REAL response. Again, app has a good structure, great concept…. however needs to actually work. I would love for it to just report to my credit bureau like I’ve paid $60 for.

No Communication, misleads you to get more money.. When I got this I initially thought it was an easy to use cash advance app like it’s advertised. Upon using it, it tells you that you have to give it $50 first in increments of $10 before you can cash advance/loan from them. Which would be fine. But then has you choose a date in which it will take the money out. Still good. However it requires a subscription, but doesn’t tell you that the date you chose is actually the day you get charged for the subscription. Not the date they take $10 out. Therefore I was charged $37 before I was prepared to. So when I reached out to communicate with them, the chat says it takes up to two minutes for a reply. I’ve waited 10 days so far for a response. Despite multiple messages to them and being told they’ll reach out in 48 hours each time. And then eventually just told me I’d receive an email at some point. So the lack of communication and tricky wording makes this feel like a scam and I’m sorely disappointed that when I needed money, they instead took more money from me.

Fraud at this point. My husband and I were looking for a way to pay off credit card debt and be able to keep track. I found this app and almost instantly decided it wasn’t for us so I deleted it, thinking these accounts get deleted for inactivity after so long, say 3-6 months since I even thought about the app. This morning I check my account and see a charge from them. I go to support about it and they said I was charged for memeberships services which I did NOT authorize or signed up for. So they pretty much signed me up for services I didn’t want and used my bank information nearly 4-6 months later to charge. This is fraud and I will never use any app like this or anything else that offer this service because of my experience here. Support also claimed for it to be refunded in 3-4 business days. But if they just willingly took my information I had and charged me months later with no email confirmation or anything also. Then I doubt I’ll get the money back. DO NOT USE!!

A financial SOS lifeline. I haven’t been the best with my spending habits and it has gotten me into some debt. When I realized I needed help I went on a search for something that would truly help me. “They” say that there is an app for everything so I starting comparing different debt reduction apps and found that most of them wanted you have you take out a loan or pay for them to help you. Then I stumbled upon Bright! Bright Money is one of the best things for me to pay down and reduce my debt and keep me on track. No longer do I worry about making on time or even extra payments to my credit card because I have a friend who’s got my back. Thank you Bright so much for helping me be more responsible and become a financially smarter person. One thing I hope to see soon is spend ability feature on the app that tracks your bills and tells you how much you can spend and not go over budget to help pay debt off quicker!

BEWARE IT IS A SCAM!. If I could give this app a rating lower than one star I would. It is a SCAM. It isn’t compatible with some credit cards so you are unable to properly track anything. They offer to have you pay off a small “loan” in order to improve your credit over months. The “loan” is you paying them $10 a month on a random dates whenever they choose to charge you, you are not loaned any money. The “loan” is $50. Once they start charging you for the “loan” if you try to opt out they threaten it will negatively effect your credit, so you are stuck paying them $50. They also don’t do a good job of disclosing that the app charges you $10 a month just for using it. So you are paying $20 for a service you can’t use for a minimum of 5 months. When they pull the $10 for using the service, it is also on a different day each month. In conclusion you will be trapped paying at least $100 for this app. I was charged the first month without it going towards the “loan”. My “loan” started to appear to have payments towards it the second month. So I’m going to end up paying them $120 by the time this is over. Again they threaten it will negatively effect your credit for opting out.

Stole my money!. This app is extremely misleading and useless! I made an account back in December. When I signed up there was no mention of a monthly fee and I never agreed to pay for anything. They charged me $9.99 in January and I didn’t even notice the charge. They charged me again February 15th and when I saw it I thought it was then taking out money to put into the app account to pay towards my credit card payments. After a few days I never saw the money in the app so I emailed them last night about it. I got an email this afternoon asking me about how I would rate the suppose to received for my issue. At this point I’m confused because I never received a response email about the situation. I scroll down and see an email attached showing that someone had responded maybe 30 minutes after my first email. But I literally never got it. I searched my junk mail, trash, EVERYTHING and there was nothing there. So I had to send a completely new email to try and get a refund and now I have to wait again for a response. Definitely not a helpful app AT ALL and just like the year 2020 I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Horrible Customer Service. My account has been on owing $0 for 4 months now I reached out to customer service as my account has been stuck in 62% status for 4 months and each time they respond just giving me the process of how it works. I’ve mentioned multiple times that I know how it works but ask them to check into my account specifically as it shows $0 is owed, if I try to just get my money I get a warning saying stopping it early will affect my credit score negatively, but yet Bright can’t seem to tell me how much longer I have to let the ml why just sit there after it being on $0 owed for over 4 months. I asked for this to be escalated and have yet to hear back. I don’t really care about having the money soon, I just want to know how much longer the process will take as it has been stuck on 62% for such a long time but they seem to now know, I have used another app before similar to Bright and did not have any issues with them. So this is really weird. Also I keep having to reconnect my bank account everytime I login which doesn’t make sense. I would suggest looking at other options rather than Bright I am glad none of my friends used my referral on this app.

A semi-scam - will work for VERY few - mostly a waste of time and mostly money.. I signed up a few months ago. Same as everyone else - very shady - says monthly then pulls the whole amount then charges monthly and 3 payments in now my account has disappeared. They want me to reconnect the accounts again but I know this is to only charge me the full yearly charge again and pretend like I didn't make any payments. I've been trying to reach their customer service for weeks like with no avail. They took 3 payments, saved nothing, did nothing but take away 3 points from my already not too bad score and completely seems to have reset my account now claiming I never made one. I have email Proof and transaction proof but no one responds so all that is pointless. I would suggest to calm your back, dispute the yearly if you were charged, dispute the monthly charges and block this company in your transactions. This is a meticulously made scam that really can all be done by YOURSELF with a little bit of understanding of what THIS company is trying to do. They have no live support, the phone number is a misleading one (asks to dial *611 for help but that's actually Your own mobile service's customer service. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS APP AS MOST OF US HAVE! Please stay away!

Bright helped me…a lot!. We moved to another state and incurred a LOT of debt as I had to charge on a lot of different cards to pay the trucks. I could barely manage all the different payments and kept being late. I was skeptical about Bright at first as I HATE recurring fees - but finally decided to give it a try. Bright organized all my cards in one place and made payments to them ALL throughout the month without me having to even think about it - actually saving me a lot of interest and stress! I got five cards paid off and only have one left. I couldn’t have done it that quickly without Bright. Thank you for this brilliant app!

SUPER HELPFUL SUPPORT. I love the concept of this app but based on other reviews wanted to make sure I had a full understanding of how it works. Bright’s lovely tech support Andrea was great and explained to me that the app doesn’t pay cards off directly from your bank account throughout the month. It ACTUALLY pulls amounts from your bank account using Ai Moneysmart tech and puts it into your Stash account set up by Bright. Then as long as you have each card you want bright to pay off ‘activated’ and ‘verified’ Bright will use the money from the Stash account seen on your home page on the app. Love this idea and loved the quick & informative support! Can’t wait to start crushing my debt I got throughout grad school!

Don’t waste your time. The premise of this app is great and if it actually worked I would give it 5 stars. But unfortunately the app glitches more often then not. To where every time I exit the app all my banks and cards disconnect and I have to reconnect them every time I log in. The build and saver program wasn’t taking my monthly payment out for whatever reason and no matter how much I emailed or tried customer service, no one would respond. But if I tried to close my account and get my money back it tells me it will harm my credit…but if I keep it there they’re not taking my payments so it’s not helping it either. A real crappy catch 22. So now it has $40 of my money, but won’t finish taking the rest and a really crappy customer service department. So don’t waste your time.

Absolutely Awful. Update: To the developer who posted that pathetic canned response — No, these issues have not been resolved. I finally had my funds returned but I have received no response to my MULTIPLE emails regarding the withdrawals and overdrafts. If I could give this app a lower rating I would. Don’t download this app. The amount that they withdraw into your Bright account to “help” pay down your debt is completely random, unscheduled, and not remotely tuned as well as other apps like Digit. Also, while you can set an amount at which the app will delay withdrawals, Bright STILL withdrew money from my account TWICE. This is an inexcusable mistake to make for anyone dealing with a lot of debt and may be in a precarious financial situation. Also note that it will take 3-4 business days for them to reverse the withdrawal. I had a personal emergency and now I have to pay nearly $200 for this latest mistake. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP.

Deceitful. This app made it seem like I would get a line of credit in 24 - 72 hours. Nothing after that time. I clearly agreed to pay my first monthly payment in 3/22- the next day they debited my whole yearly payment from my account. Additionally they debited another $10. This is too much money up front for absolutely nothing as far as I can see and they are very deceptive about both the product and payments. There are honest cash and credit building sites and this isn’t one of them. This should be illegal. Beware. I was told I’d get a refund for $40- we’ll see … idk what happened to the other $10 they took in a separate payment or how I’m supposed to track that down. Customer service is intentionally ambiguous and they make you work to cancel and seek a refund. Beware. Go elsewhere. This site should be shut down

FALSE ADVERTISING. DO NOT DOWNLOAD.. this app claims to boost your score by loaning you $50 and you will make small payments till it is paid off. they claim once you pay the full $50, it is yours to keep! what they DONT tell you, is that as soon as the $50 is paid, they continue to give you small loans to pay off and that if you withdraw any of the money you paid… it will negatively impact your credit score. this app is a SCAM. it looks so well put together, and once they get you hooked you are trapped into making payments unless you want to ding your credit score to cancel the membership. i submitted a report with the Federal Trade Commission because this is FALSE ADVERTISING. i am reaching out to Bright to receive full refund of my membership as well. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. also, the app store saying it’s a 4.8/5 stars is ran by paid bots to boost their app. read the real reviews!!!

It has potential but not for me. I deleted this app and decided not to use it. 1st of all this app is helpful, it does what it says it would do but this is the part of my frustration and experience. Do not sign up in the app, sign up on their website. The features and settings are different and once you sign up in the app there’s no way to use the website-it will just tell you sorry, you have to use the app since you signed up in the app. But I did not know that so it was too late for me. Also, if you don’t have to deal w/ customer service, then you’ll be fine. It only gives an option to email them. The emails were very cold & uniformed. It is as if they are scripted. Also, Sam who provided me w/ instructions, should’ve gotten more information first before trying to give instructions. The instructions they provided didn’t help. And because I could not accomplish what Sam instructed frustrated me even more and because of that it was the deciding factor of deleting my account. More so, it took even longer to get additional help to make sure my account would be deleted. It’s because of your customer service and the cold, uniformed responses on the emails that has put a bad taste in my mouth about the product. It’s too bad, it is a good and useful tool but there’s no way I’m recommending this.

Starting to think it’s a scam. I downloaded the app to check it out never wanting to sign up and then went on vacation and a month later I noticed that I had a $99 charge on my bank account for this app. I went to resolve it but was busy at the moment a couple days later I noticed that it was taking change from each of my transactions. I sent a email to customer support but never got a response. They said they would reach out to me via email but never did a couple days later there’s another $50 charge on my account. I contact my bank stuff all charges going to this app or this company. I emailed them more than five times I’ve called more than 10 times every time everyone’s busy and nobody answers not even a message. Absolutely no response from them. Absolutely no way to contact anybody. After checking the App Store, I noticed that there’s another Bright app registered to a company called Bright inc compared to this one which is called bright capital inc I’m not sure if the two companies are related, but it looks like this and to mimic the other one, and because of no most feels like this is a scam I would not recommend this app or company in anyway, and I have a response from them and I’m hoping to but that hope is fading.

I really wanted to like this app. These are the type of absence that make people like me who have bad credit from poor and reckless decisions I made when I was younger, deserves to make it hard for us to want to fix our credit. They sell you this pipe dream that they’re gonna help you and you can connect your banks and all sorts of stuff, they can surely make a quick for you to upload your big stink at all your personal information, all your account info, but have a really hard time sending you just an email just to verify that you are who you are in to even give you an email ID. The customer service is whack, it’s tacky, it’s not helpful whatsoever. Can’t even send me an email ID but can definitely have access to all my accounts. Everybody was raving about this app, the reviews looked great and I had such a bad experience with them. I have looked into other apps just like this one that were a lot more helpful with me and I will go with them

Great idea poorly executed. I have been trying to get my bank details to work to enable the credit builder account to hopefully unlock the balance transfer fees. I have 5 email chain with multiple representative who have unsuccessfully given me any understanding on why my bank account is not working. I have Chase, an established bank. I have added it multiple times, made it my primary account and followed other instruction from the auto reply emails I get. Although a phone number is given- it rings a few times and goes to a voicemail box. It does not even mention the company names. I have also asked about the $50 loan ($10 a month credit builder) and have been told it’s an auto draft and “they make sure it does not overdrawn account” and is based on an algorithm. It’s $50, I much rather pay $5 per pay period and Finally luck the balance transfer feature. None of the features have worked for me and it’s been over a month! Very annoyed at the poor customer service and the inability to provide basic information on what the actual issue is. There is no error given and only a blame on the user. To further add fuel to the fire, there was a noticed that my credit could be affected now. Don’t expect this app to work if you have chase, and good luck get any answers from “real people”.

STAY AWAY. Will NOT release my checking account.. NO ON THE PHONE HUMAN SUPPORT, and NO AVAILABLE WAITING QUEUE. IT ALWAYS TELLS YOU THEYRE BUSY AND IT HANGS UP ON YOU. I have been trying for about a month and a half to remove my checking account information from the app and no matter how much support or emails saying that it’s been done, they refuse to remove my checking account from the app. They’re still taking money from me. Even after moving the money to another account after clearing the previous ones up with my bank, I got charged with ANOTHER $200 in NSF fees after an email came in stating that it had been removed. They’re still removing money from my account despite my requests to close my account with them, without my permission. Even with the auto round up on pause, they are STILL removing money from my account. I’m on the edge of finding a lawyer. This app and the company is trash.

Scammers, misleading app. My experience with this app was terrible. I dowloaded the app because with the credit builder I wanted to help my credit score. However, I pay the membership from April-Sep. Six month of paid membership and so far only 3 payments were made towards the credit builder app. Rounds ups don’t work properly. The system is so slow. After deactivating Round ups the systems kept processing the round ups even after I had already turn it off. Customer support is TERRIBLE. The amount of time it takes to get back to you with answers or assistance take DAYS and when they finally replay … can’t even provide you with a right answer. I closed my account and I did it with the help of an agent who “process” my refund INCOMPLETE. I waited for my own money 3 weeks, on top of that I had to reach out to them to process my refund again because apparently my account was close but no refund had been issue. My advice… KEEP YOUR MONEY ON YOUR POCKET AND AVOID THIS MISLEADING SCAMMER APPS.

The best tool out there for debt reduction.. As an adult learner in college for family financial planning and counseling, I have tried so many apps for financial management, budgeting, debt reduction, etc. As a middle aged American, I am struggling to get a debt reduction plan and take control of my finances. There are so many apps that attempt to do too many things or that can’t even do basic functions well. Bright is different. It does everything I need and it does everything well. I have already paid off and closed several accounts and improved my credit score immensely. I highly recommend this for anyone who has debt, but especially credit card debt.

Helps Tackle Debt!. This app has been really helpful managing multiple credit cards. I can see my total debt in 1 place and know exactly where the money is going. With the membership option, you’re able to set a balance you do not wish your checkings account to fall beneath. After you’ve reached that, Bright does not take money until you’re above that balance again. They do a great job at sending reminders when you have an upcoming payment (which they have usually taken care of in advance) and also sending encouraging messages about knocking down your debt. This app is like having a financial advisor right at your fingertips!

Absolutely great product. I was sad that I had to discontinue using Bright but due to some personal circumstances and higher priorities, I had to delete my account. I WILL say, however, that for the few months I used this app, it was GREAT. I never had to worry about where my money was going to since it was taken out for the bills that the Bright prioritized for me. Everything was paid in time and I saved a bit of money on the side because of it. I spoke with a rep (Samuel) to delete my account and he was SUPER friendly and accommodating. Never tried to hard sell me on keeping the app or anything - just verified some info and that was it. I’ll be coming back to utilize Bright again that’s for sure!

Stay away, forced me to close account and dinged my credit months later. Stay far far away from this app. My account was forced closed ( at least that’s what I was told by Bright) when my bank would no longer connect and there was no way to add any other payment. Well I thought all was good until 4 months later they report a late fee to credit bureaus, the supposed late payment was on my credit for four months after the account was closed. Reached out to bright and asked them to remove it because they forced my account closed and it wasn’t even active when they reported me late, not to mention late for what ! Transferring money to a savings account ? They were useless and just told me all I could do is dispute with credit bureaus. Absolute horrible service I would never recommend to anyone as it will screw you over rather than help

Good for Some. NOT FOR ME!. As I’ve read through some of the reviews. I also got hit with an automatic withdrawal. Fortunately, my withdrawal wasn’t large enough to have a real impact on my bank account, but I do worry about how much more will be withdrawn until my account is completely deleted - which I couldn’t get a straight answer on. I had the not so great pleasure of speaking with Sophia. She didn’t give much help, but kept using “as mentioned”. How can you know what to safely transfer out if you don’t know what I’m spending each day?! I would’ve been good with a set amount transferring over each day or week, rather than waking up and money is transferred - it’s random! There must be some fine print somewhere about the cost! I don’t recall seeing that until I signed up and started clicking on things to see for myself. My balances wouldn’t appear, my due dates were wrong. If I have to fix everything that you are supposedly linked to, why bother linking my credit cards?!

Onboarding - AMAZING. I haven’t fully used the app yet but want to speak to the onboarding process. The app is very thorough and does a great job at building the value. I have ZERO doubts that I will payoff my credit cards faster and save money on insane interest rates throughout the process. Although I didn’t fully understand how it worked, their customer service is top tier. Samuel walked me through the entire process, answered all of my questions (I had a lot), and worked to get more information to me after our chat so that I had all the information I needed to be successful. Will def update you guys on how I am doing 6 months from now but super excited to work with Bright!

Was going great until it didn’t. This app was my go to when I needed to save money. Recently I needed to withdraw all my funds. I clicked the option and somehow had to wait 6 days after requesting it for 3 days prior like I never requested it to begin it. Next I wanted to cancel the membership because I used to get charged monthly I asked for a refund because so many times the bank is always disconnecting another reason I’m parting ways. Lastly I have reached out to customer service multiple occasions. There’s no phone number and I’ve yet to receive a response or a refund for the money it’s some how STILL TAKING but not showing up on the app. So where is my money going?! I have no idea. It was a great app till it wasn’t. I won’t be recommending anyone to use it until my issue is sorted out.

Stole $130 from me.. The app automatically transferred in $70 to my Bright account holding $130 so the displayed balance was $200. However, I didn’t have $70 in my checking so the transfer was returned. Before it was returned, I just wanted my money back and transferred out $50 and then $150 and the account got overdrawn -$70 when the return occurred and all the transfers are now frozen and not going through. I’ve contacted support over and over and they just keep telling me to wait and the transfers never actually go through. So the Bright account is stuck displaying -$70, meanwhile my $130 in actual money that was successful in being put in is frozen endlessly. Support has been absolutely zero help, each one just says what the last guy said, that it will happen eventually. No one on the support team has any power to do anything, they are just paid to tell customers to wait.

Completely unethical. Fair warning: the only help available with this app is from a chat bot. No actual person will ever speak to you. I attempted to cancel my account on Monday, and they are still withdrawing money from my savings account. There is no way in the app to disconnect your bank account once you add it. it randomly withdraw amounts of money from your bank account, sometimes hundreds of dollars per week, and it has cost me hundreds in overdraft fees. Plus, if you ever want or need money back out of it, it takes a week unless you pay an extra dollar fee. The bright builder account was supposed to be fully taken care of in five months. When I canceled my account, after nine months of on-time, as contracted payments, it said I was still only 60% done with the program. Do not sign up for this app and this program. You will regret it.

A M A Z I N G. This app has been nothing short of amazing! It works for me especially because I’m busy being a restaurant manager. I don’t even feel the money it takes out of my account. It’s like having your own personal assistant to pay all your bills. What’s best is I don’t even realize when bright puts in more than it should to whatever credit card is on file! It gives me peace of mind know that I don’t have to worry about a thing. I highly recommend this app to anybody. Even if you’re already great at paying your bills, this just makes it even easier, and for $10 a month, you can’t go wrong! Get it NOW!!!

Santander Bank customers read this!. I think this app serves a very nice purpose for me. I can link all my bank accounts and credit cards and view real time balances while also creating and helping me maintain course on my current financial goals. However there’s an issue when trying to link your Santander account (only account I had issues with) THERE IS A BYPASS for this issue. When searching and clicking on Santander US it says bank unsupported. Proceed to click on find on plaid. It will connect for you and proceed to provide data to your bright money account. You’re welcome 😌 Bright, please fix this issue. You guys may have accidentally used an incorrect link! The link I saw did not seem like the one I use to connect.

Customer service is awesome!. I like this app and I also like the features in it as well especially the tab where they have little articles and mini-like courses that teach you more about finance too 🔥 , the organization within the app is really nice and well designed too - it’s not difficult to read or understand which I really appreciate too as well as I’m sure many other users do as well 🙏🏽. Customer service in this app is awesome! I had some questions and concerns and the customer service person really did a great job and was super fast in their replies and they helped me without hesitation!

App glitches and sign-up is misleading. Update - Two weeks and still no refund sent, still no answers to my emails or my chat sessions. I clicked through to see membership benefits but they were hard to evaluate before choosing a plan. The plan said it was $89 or $7 per month so I clicked to continue figuring $7 per month is okay. No confirmation that I was authorizing the full year’s charge to be withdrawn in a lump sum but that’s what they withdrew a day later. They sent no email confirming the charge - they removed the money from my bank account with no receipt sent. A company that requires direct access to all of your banking logins needs to be much more transparent about the money they plan to withdraw from those accounts and they should send a clear accounting by email. Two weeks after requesting a refund I still have not received it. I would not trust this company with my financial account log-ins again.

Not so Bright. I’ve had this app for over 6 months and only 1 credit card has been paid on. I did the smart round ups which was taking small amounts here and there then it jumped to $19 and $29 taken out back to back. It says it knows when you have money in your account so you don’t have to worry about being over drafted yet I got two big “round ups” taken out when I was already in the negative. The one credit card hasn’t even been paid off so where is the money going to that has been taken out? I also did the credit line option where you make 3 payments and become eligible for the credit line but that has yet to happen. Going to cancel my membership once I pay off the little $50 loan with them. Which isn’t taken out monthly either. Oh and your bank can disconnect so you can’t withdraw the money you saved.

Use Apps Like These With Precaution. I had bright connected to my bank account so even if it was locked it could still pull money . Upon further investigation i was able to find in the app that you can request a refund for the membership charge (this must happen a lot). After speaking to a representative, they initiated the refund process. I was generally pleased besides the fact i thought i wouldn't receive my money until next week, but nonetheless i received it in less than 2 days . I know a lot of people are experiencing this and my advice would be to not connect your bank to third party apps to prevent things like this . Me personally i won't be using Bright anymore because the situation freaked me out but if you do , make sure they don't try to slap a membership fee on your account .

Service cost. I was really excited about this app! I installed it, gave it access to all of my banking and credit card information, set up my account completely and not once during the entire process did the app let me know what the service charge for this subscription would be. I would be fine paying the $9.99 a month for what this app is supposed to do for me ( I pay a lot more for other things that I just don’t need)..... if I was told up front what I would be paying for. But because it felt like the subscription was hidden from me due to the fact NOT ONCE was I asked or told about it during registration, I immediately canceled the service (which was extremely easy, so thanks for that) and deleted the app from my phone. Hidden service charges for things are something that are extremely irritating to me. How can you say that your going to save someone money every month and hide the fact that you charge. Very scammy in my opinion.

Amazing app!. BrightMoney is an excellent platform for building credit and managing your credit cards efficiently. It offers a convenient solution by consolidating all your credit cards in one place, making it easy to keep track of your spending and payment activities. This streamlined approach can definitely help improve financial organization. Additionally, the credit-building features can be valuable for individuals looking to establish or enhance their credit scores. Overall, BrightMoney seems to provide a helpful solution for those seeking better credit management and financial control.

Not what they claim. If you are trying to pay off debt, but still live check to check, this isn’t for you. It will automatically take money from you at random times in order to “save” for a credit card to make a payment. If you need that money for a mcchicken or gas later that week, good luck. I also found that there’s no way to remove a bank account or card info from the app. There’s also no way to delete your account on your own. You have to “contact support” which is just a robot with a name who repeats the same lines. It shouldn’t be this complicated to delete an account. Please do yourself a favor and don’t even bother. There’s also a 9.99 a month charge that I also didn’t see anything about. It’s just an awful design all the way around. If you have money to spare and you just want it to automatically pay your bills then I’m sure it’ll work for you. But I can’t afford to put even $5 towards a card that isn’t due until the end of the month. I have other bills to pay!

Helping. This app does help me make extra payments on my credit cards. I was concerned in the beginning with all of the withdrawals, but I changed the settings and it is much better now. I was uncomfortable at first, but I am watching the extra payments being made and it is helping me. I have been using the app for a couple months and I will send another review at the end of 6 months. My biggest complaint is that my app is currently messed up on my iPhone and I cannot get bright to open, but I am working on finding a solution to get this fixed. Watch the demo and understand how this works before diving in and I think you will decide if you want to use Bright or not.

Great credit card app!. It took me a while to figure out exactly how Bright was going to work and I didn’t exactly understand based on what I was seeing in the app. However, they withdraw money from your bank account in small chunks throughout the month as long as the money is available and then make all of your minimum monthly payments on time. If you set a goal of savings that is above your monthly minimums, they will pay that extra toward a card to get it paid off. I’m very close to paying off a card that I have been trying to pay off for a while and have paid at least the minimums on all of my other cards. It has been easier having them do it than me doing it on my own!

Please don’t do it. Any good reviews of this app cannot be real. This app was supposed to take a minimal amount out of my account. I had $800 in my account and when I looked the next day I have $175. Bright took out six transactions, one for $133. Leaving me unable to pay for my daughter’s camp for the week. I tried to withdraw but it said it would take almost 10 days! Now it does not take 10 for a bank transfer to go through. I can’t not have my own money that I earned. I tried to chat them, it said my wait was an hour. Ok. Then it was 30 minutes. Then I got a message on the chat saying there was no one to chat with me and someone will reach out to me in 24 hours. They didn’t. I even emailed them. No response. This company is terrible and incredibly irresponsible. They will take your money. More than you authorized. I’m going to be filing complaints about this business to every organization I can, as well as post on all social media.

Would Not Recommend. The app and service used to be amazing, I’ve had it for over a year, but in the last 6 months my cards are constantly being unattached without my knowledge, this leading to payments not being made on time and causing late fees etc. My most recent customer service contacts took 3 weeks for me to get a response to after submitting several requests through email and chat through the app. They claim to resolve late fee issues but they refused even though the reason for the fees were do to their app disconnecting my cards on its own with no notification sent to me, I had contacted them several times about this issue with no resolution other than reconnecting. Until they can fix their app issues and connectivity issues I would not recommend this product especially paying for a membership for it.

Terrible customer support system.. I did not have a good experience specifically with customer support. I signed up for the bright credit builder option which takes $10 a month out for 5 months. By the 5th month my payment never came out. I contacted support they responded almost 72 hours later when it said they would respond in 24 hours. I never got my problem fixed. Additionally I changed my phone number and could no longer access my account. This was on March 1st. I reached out to bright immediately and did not receive a response yet. I have proceeded to deactivate my account and now I fear I don’t know how long that will take. Meanwhile, bright is still withdrawing money from my account. The app would be better if customer support was more efficient. I’ve used apps similar to this before and haven’t had these types of problems. Super disappointed. I ended up paying off all my cards WITHOUT needing bright.

Bright money review. I want to start off my saying that I love and definitely believe in Bright. It’s a great service. However, after downloading it shows the correct amount saved, but doesn’t have my smart pay card there. So I’m thinking that it’s off. I check online and it’s there as it should be... The application not being able to accurately display correct account info defies the point of an app as I still will need to check out the web app to provide accurate info. Hopefully this is updated at some point... but I would DEFINITELY get bright if you need to pay off some debt. I’m loving the service so far

Love the Idea and The methodology behind Bright.. So far I have used it for a month and it feels nice that it collects small deposits throughout each day to make one big savings to be used for my credit card minimums. And still have the option to edit the minimums so if you want it to pay more than the minimum you can. And then the option to withdraw the extra money on bright is also pretty satisfying. It’s equivalent to have a savings account for CC payments. I hope they can add more banks so I can add additional credit cards to bright so I can have all my CCs on the app. Does a great job of choosing days to pay them and always early. I think it was worth the try and keep.

Fraudulent App Do Not Download. I was recommended this app from a friend through Bright Money referral program (which they don’t pay you $125 for referrals). We were interested in the Credit Builder Program they promoted which was fake promotion. They convince users to sign up, put you through a credit program, and after so many payments you can “qualify for a Credit Builder Program” that does not even exist. They are also stealing money from your account with charges you did not approve. I have contacted customer service on several occasions through the app and they do not respond. Finally, when someone did respond on the app they only asked for my email (which is on my account) and I never heard from them again. This business is a scam, the majority of their review are automated bots. Do not download the app, it is fraudulent!

Great concept, just not right for me right now. I’m giving 4 stars based on the potential i feel this app has. I saw Bright on the Pennyhoarder blog & thought I’d try it out. I really like that it sets up a plan to best pay down your credit card debt. Seeing it laid out in concise steps was convenient & easy & cool. I picked the “Smart Pace” option & just let it work. The automatic withdrawals were fine & never overdrafted, but with my current financial mess it just wasn’t the best fit for me. I didn’t try the credit builder option but that looked like an awesome benefit. The whole thing kind of gamified paying down debt which I really liked. I was super happy with customer service when I was able to stay connected (my issue, not Brights). I will definitely consider trying Bright again once I have things back in order.

Stay Away!. This app and the service they claim to offer is a scam! They will take your money and never provide you with any services! I signed up and they never followed up with anything. When I would log into the app there were technical issues that would not allow me to use it. Their customer service is awful. They claim to be available 24/7 but that is almost never true. They never answer the phone. When I did finally get in contact with someone about my app issues, they said someone would email me. Never received an email. I emailed them requesting to cancel my membership and requesting a refund. Never received a reply. Finally got in contact with them through chat. They were able to cancel my membership and claimed to issue me a refund but I never received it! This company or whatever they claim to be is a fraud!

Taking money from my account. I have signed up for this app more than 6 months ago , with the hope that this app will help me with my credit score. At first i had to pay 25$ payments every months to build credit! Thats totally fine and reasonable. But after i finished paying the monthly payments nothing has changed but also they are rounding up every purchase i had and taking money from my account (which I didn’t agree to) i have contacted then on phone and emails and no one was any help. Since i have changed my phone number now i cant even access my account to stop that. After going back and fort and chains of email with no results I'm writing this review. The help desk is absolutely not helpful and if u can’t access your account you will start losing money. Read everything that they have in the agreement .

Great App!. Very happy with how it manages my credit card payments. Love that I can set a monthly goal of how much I want to pay towards my cards over and above the minimum and the app figured out the best way to apply the extra. It really does make managing my money easy. I also like that I can change my monthly goal as needed and if necessary, I am able to move money from Bright back into my account. Now I wish they would look at adding other types of debt like Student loans, car payments, PayPal. I currently pay these in a similar manner as Bright Money does for my credit cards. It would be nice to add these accounts to Bright Money.

Great customer service. Was having issues withdrawing money to my other bank so I sent them an email asking for help and they immediately responded to set up time for a quick call, they called and explained why i couldn’t just withdraw money into a different bank account , and said it was due to money laundering policies which i very much understand, the lady i spoke too on the phone was very helpful and understanding , her name was Hazel i think, and she was able to help me withdraw my money into the bank i wanted . She was able to resolve my issue in minutes which i very much appreciate. Overall great customer service.

BEWARE - BRIGHT IS A SCAM. I downloaded Bright because I read good reviews and it seemed legit. It is not and they will take money out of your account even when you turn off the smart round up feature. After I turned the feature off, it still took money from my account multiple times and caused me to rack up $175 in overdraft fees. There is also no way to contact anyone. They have a messaging feature on their app, but they were no help. I emailed their support email and got an email back from Jane. She told me to send a picture of my statement where I had the overdraft and then ghosted me. Their phone line ALWAYS says the representatives are busy and then just hangs up. I messaged the support reps in the app multiple times and they would tell me someone was calling me but they never would. DO NOT USE THIS APP. IT DOES NOTHING FOR YOUR CREDIT SCORE AND THIS COMPANY IS A HUGE SCAM!

HORRIFIC DO NOT USE !!!! STEALS YOUR MONEY. I wish I read the reviews. Then i wouldn’t be crying right now on the phone with my bank trying to close my account because this company steals your information forever. I deleted the app (thinking somehow that would stop my account from being set up since i was in the middle of it and new this was a scam) and can’t even access my account now- they make you set up a new account when you download it again. Therefore they are taking $5 out of my account frequently and this caused me to overdraft??? now i have major fees and have no way to cancel my account so now i have to literally set up a new bank account to get away from this slimey app. don’t let this app ruin your life- DO NOT GET IT. I wish i could give it zero stars. I wish i could warn anyone who thinks this is just going to help you budget and manage credit cards. it is the dumbest most invasive app ever. I am so nervous that i put SUCH personal information into it.

Would give 0 stars if I could. I got this app eager to get help in paying off my credit card debt, as well as help rebuild my credit. I signed up for the credit builder membership which was advertised as $8.99/monthly. I checked my bank and was charged the annual fee of $99, though I know I chose the monthly option. As it would help build my credit, I let it go and was still prepared to utilize the app. It was immediately after I purchased the membership that I found myself unable to open the app. I deleted it and reinstalled it but the problem persisted. After a week or so of not being able to get in I decided it wasn’t worth it and requested a refund. I received a prompt reply stating my refund had been processed and would be in my account in 4-5 business days. It’s been 2 weeks and I’ve yet to receive anything. Now I’m looking at having to take them to small claims court, which I will do as a matter of principle for services not rendered.

Customer Service Non-Existent. This app has overdrafted my bank account multiple times. It has costed me hundreds of dollars in over-draft fees and Bright Money does nothing to relieve the problem. I contact support and I get no response. I call the phone number listed on the website and the phone number is not working. There is no response from the in-app messaging other than automated response from “Bot.” Bright Money emailed me back after I sent them a letter of intent to sue and assured me I would have my money returned and after more than 2 weeks I still have not had my money returned. After my membership was cancelled this company STILL charged my debit card a $99 fee. This company is absolutely criminal. Do not give this company any of your banking information, they will steal from you. I am actively suing this company for deceptive practices and theft.

They stole my money. They require you to pay monthly for 5 months before they consider giving you a credit card. I paid the monthly $10 for four months and when I went to check my progress I was suddenly logged out from my account and when I try to sign in, it only gave an option to sign up. So I reached out to this company multiple times & they never responded. Therefore stealing my money and getting my hopes of fixing my credit up. I’d only recommend this company to satan. THEY REPLIED TO THIS REVIEW WITH AN UNPROFESSIONAL EMAIL TO CONTACT THEM “GRACE RENE” BUT WHEN THEY REPLIED TO MY INQUIRY THE PERSONS NAME IS ANDREA. I STATED THE ISSUE AND DAYS LATER GRACE SAYS TO TALK TO ANDREA “HER COLLEAGUE” ABOUT IT. STILL NOTHING IS BEING DONE. ITS JUST A BIG GAME OF RING AROUND THE ROSIE THAT INVOLVES STEALING FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS.

So far, so good!. I downloaded Bright a few months ago to see if it could help me pay down my debts as well as it advertised, and it’s been pretty smooth sailing ever since! The app has made great improvements to really let users hone in on the best method for paying off their debt, and even has ways to pause the AI or set a limit for your bank account where Bright won’t take more money out so you don’t overdraft. It’s nice to know that money is being saved for me without having to do anything, and that I can combine it with my own manual payments to really crush my debt fast! Their customer service is also great, they are quick to help answer any questions I’ve had, or work to resolve issues if they come up!

Do not use this app!! They will steal your money!!. I had an awful experience with this app several months ago, and lost a good amount of money to their membership fee, which I did not sign up for, and only received a partial refund for as well. They have a “stash” that saves your money, but I have never been able to successfully withdraw my stash, and now have more money sitting in this app that I can’t get back. I figured I would just take the loss, move on, and never think about this awful app ever again, but when I recently checked my bank account, I saw they took out MORE money, twice in less than 24 hours, and I have no clue why, not can I find where it went. This app has cost me well over $200 now and I want absolutely nothing to do with it. I have never had a more difficult and frustrating experience with an app and would not recommend using this unless you enjoy having your money stolen from you!
