2 day turnaround for tick verification. helped me and my family a number of times and eased our anxiety when we find a tick (or one that turns out not to be a tick). Did not work.. So many questions just to ID a tick and just got an error message so ID was not even successful. Could have been useful but was not. Alert message error 1.

Overall pretty good, filled with nightmare material. App functions well, responsive, but needs some user experience updates to get to 5 stars. Be warned this app is filled with nightmare material. Eye bleach may be needed after using. Wish list - The icon makes my skin crawl, please change this - Would love to know the common name for the ticks when I look at each post, not just the scientific name. - a heat map would be useful - notifications if a tick is found near me

App is buggy!. Pun not intended! Constantly crashing or freezing. Can’t even sign up.

Quick response!. Very impressed with how quickly we got our response after submitting the photo. Turned out what we had was not a tick (could have fooled me!) but they replied not even 15 minutes later, and put our son at ease! Definitely recommend the photo submission!

Error 1. Submitted a pic, answered the questions, and got error 1! Ugh, so frustrating.

Great App for those that love the outdoors. This app is great, obviously you should expect to find ticks any time you are outdoors in wooded areas. If you do find a tick, you can submit it and help be part of the solution and research now! Minor bugs with the map when you apply filters then click on one of the “green dots” the app crashes. No issues if you do not apply filters, however there is an overwhelming amount of data if you don’t filter it.

Ticks are everywhere. Ticks are basically everywhere. Always be smart and check yourself. Really don’t need and app to tell me this or set false security.

Update. I ended up finally getting it to let me on. It’s been 3 days now and no response.

Great App. Due to Covid, my local public health directed me to your wonderful app. My daughter was bitten by a tick and I noticed it on her. She was very panicked and needless to say, we were much relieved to know that it was not a deer tick. Thank you for your wonderful service you really put a child and parents mind at ease! Super fast service!

Does not work with Apple ID. App advises can log in through Apple ID but does not work. 😨

Ecrap!. The app tries to log you in with one of your social media accounts which you should never do especially on a shoddy developed app like this one. I tried to sign up with my email address and the app will not let you choose a province so you cannot finish registration for your account. Not well polished at all cannot recommend.

Great experience. I had great experience using this app, it was user friendly. No issues signing up or uploading photos. I also received a quick response via email. Would recommend and use this again.

People fantastic, app a little glitchy. After removing a burrowed tick I wanted to know if it was a species that could be a carrier of diseases I should be aware of. The app would redirect me to the website instead of submitting through the app but I got an email back pretty quickly with lots of great information. They were fantastic to deal with. I highly recommend using their services, the app needs some work but it’s something easily worked around.

Did as advertised!. I submitted a picture of a tick, and I received an email detailing type of ticket, where it is often found, etc. Thank you for your help!

Amazing app!. Came across this app and so so happy I did! Amazing app! Submitted pictures and received a detailed response back in about an hour! I felt so confident in their response! Very helpful and knowledgeable about ticks! I’ve taken ticks to the hospital after pulling them off family and been told they were dog ticks by the doctors then sending them off for testing and finding out they were deer ticks! Medical professionals are not trained in identifying ticks so I am so grateful to have this app. Thank you for keeping our family safe

Unable to Sign In with Apple ID. The app provides the option however after several attempts it continues to bring up error and unable to log in. Deleted app and reloaded it. Same result. Unfortunately it is useless unless I use the guest with limited options or create an account which is not something I would like to do. I’ve seen the app in action on a friends phone and it appears to be a useful app for those with accounts.

Great app and service. It was a very easy process from start to finish. The app allowed me to upload pictures and I received a reply in less than 12 hours!!

Bonne idée d'app collaborative. Je ne peux juger de la qualité des données mais en tout cas ça fonctionne bien et est certainement utile, bravo! Cependant, un peu PLUS d'information contextuelle (date de début de la collecte dans chaque ptovince, le fait que Scapularis EST la bibitte dangereuse, etc.) serait appréciée à l'intérieur de l'app sur ce qui est après tout relié à un projet de recherche scientifique: dire en quelque part que ça vient de l'université Bishop (et sans même un lien web spécifique!) me semble un peu court... d'ailleurs il y a très peu (=aucune) information dans les sites web etick.ca ou de la dite université sur le processus de collecte et qualité du traitement; p.ex. QUI sont les "professionnels" qui identifient les dites tiques: l'ASPC, le LSPQ, la dre Savage, les doctorants de la dre Savage, les étudiants en maîtrise de la dre Savage, les classes de bac de la dre Savage, etc. ? À la rigueur ce manque de renseignements pose des problèmes éthiques... N.B. suite à votre réponse (dont je vous remercie), la 2e partie ("Notre équipe...") aurait avantage à être sur votre site web et/ou dans l'app (avec un lien direct vers la page web la plus spécifique disponible). Bravo encore pour ce beau projet!

Fast Response!. I found a tick on the back of my knee after doing some gardening. My wife removed it, and we put it in a jar. My wife also asked advice on social media re: tick id so we learned of the app. I took a pic and sent it in and got a very quick response (on a Saturday!). Turned out it was a black legged tick, so with this knowledge I am going to send the tick to a lab and for analysis re: lyme disease bacteria.

Saver app for an anxious girl. Need a “like” function because some photos are too hilarious (sorry for the submitters’ experience but it’s just funny)

User unfriendly. It is not optimized for iPad, and the UI is wretched, as if designed by amateurs. This needs much more work.

Amazing app!!!. I was bit by a tick and was pretty sure it wasn’t a dear tick but I needed an expert opinion to be able to sleep better at night! I asked them questions via email and got answered immediately! Who does that anymore right? Well they answered all my questions then I submitted my pictures and I didn’t expect to get my identification in the same day!!! I’m sure they stayed late at work to get it to me so fast. So so grateful since it’s a long weekend and i would have had to wait 3 days! Thank you eTick!!!

Tick Identification - Fast results. I found a tick attached on my wife’s neck. After removing it, I took a picture and sent it for identification using the eTick app. The results came back in a few hours - this was a Sunday! It was a dog tick, not a blacklegged tick which can transmit Lyme disease. Thank you eTick!

A great user-friendly App. Used this site recently on my iPad after moving from Ontario to B.C. . It took the worry out of picking up a tick on my neck while doing some wild flower photography , after straying into some grassy brush and not heading the warning to stay on the established path. The App worked like a dream . It has a video on how to take the photo for identification , and this time I followed the instructions . I received an identification and helpful info in just a few hours and luckily my tick was not able to carry Lymes disease which was my prime concern. Thanks developers ! Well done you. Awesome app!. Just downloaded this app this morning to report a tick found in my home. I received a quick response via email regarding species and risks based on my picture submitted with a lot of really great information. Stoked to have this app available in such a tick prominent area. Thanks!

Useful and quick. Tick identification turnaround time was a couple of hours. Plus the data help public health folks monitor where ticks are. Great stuff!!

Was useful….. but not anymore. I installed this when it first came out and found it useful. I didn’t want to provide any personal info so I used the “guest” option which permitted me to see where the ticks were in my area. This spring when I opened it I found I could no longer use guest (button is there but doesn’t work)…. I must open an account or provide my Facebook password. Uh….. no…. Decided to uninstall instead. UPDATE May 27/2022 Developer replied saying the app issue had been resolved. Reinstalled the app and tried again. No change, still not working using “guest” option.

Terrible. I could not sign up. Tried multiple times in various ways. Waste of time. Deleted the app.

Nice app. This is a must-have app for people who enjoy hiking or dog owners who walk in the woods a lot. But the icon definitely some improvements.

Excellent App. I’m so grateful for this app. My yard backs on to a provincial park and frequently have wildlife including deer nearby. We also have a dog so I’m grateful that I can get a quick identification of ticks found in house and on our dog. Thanks for the good work!!! Lyme disease and other diseases from ticks are no joke.

Quick response. I sent photos of a tick I found on my dog and received a response the very next day identifying the tick and more info on it. Very timely and professional communication. Great experience!

Great Simple App. Easy to use. Simply take a picture of the tic and you get an message soon after with an identification. It’s really helpful to put your mind at ease especially if you don’t come across a lot of tics day to day. They also have helpful information about potential diseases Highly recommended

Needs a LOT of work. The “learn to identify a tick” section is just how to tell the difference between a tick and a spider. When I try to sort by location, it lists sightings EVERYWHERE. RANDOMLY. Not sorted nearest to farthest, or even alphabetically. It’s a “pick-up-sticks” of sightings from all over the province. Unable to zoom in on images. A tiny image 1/20th the size of my screen, which contains what appears to be a dark speck, maybe having legs, maybe a piece of fluff. Unable to zoom in to view what it really is.

Can’t create an account. Way too difficult to create an account. The app seems like a good idea, but I’ve used 2 different emails, tried logging in with google, and Facebook and just tells me error every time I try to log in. I can’t try to create a new account because my emails are “already registered with an account”, yet it won’t let me log in due to “error”. Would love to use the features of the app if possible

Great concept but…. Seems like a good idea but the camera/photo feature does not work. I’ve been trying for days to get it to work but once you get to that section it’s just thinking and thinking and nothing loads. Super frustrating.

ETick App. So happy with this app, very easy to use. Easy to take and submit a picture! I received a reply by the next day. I was pleasantly surprised to get responses to my questions! Such a good resource ! Especially for ppl with pets and children!

Excellent. I am most grateful to have had this app/service available to identify a tick removed from my son recently. Identification was quick and definitive and guided our treatment of the bite. I’m also impressed that this is a free service.
