EMT PASS (new) App Description & Overview

What is emt pass (new) app? NEW & REDESIGNED! To better help you study for and pass the NREMT exam, we have redesigned EMT PASS to include smaller topical review questions and two summative final exams. All questions have been revised and updated to provide for the best learning experience.

Topical review tests include sections on Airway, Cardiology, Medical, Trauma, Operations, OB & Pediatrics. All review tests include a detailed written rationale to help you better understand the answer and how to interpret an NREMT style question.

Once you are ready to test your readiness and challenge your stamina, move on to the two simulated 120-question NREMT exams in the test section.

Still the tough, high-quality questions you have come to expect from Bill Brown, former executive director of the NREMT, the redesigned EMT PASS will prepare you like no other for passing your certification exam.

Worst app for NREMT. Do not buy this app it is not worth it, much of the information conflicts with itself and what is taught in EMT school, and includes very specific information not even remotely found on the NREMT. Do not purchase this useless app. It shatters your confidence in the procedures, rules, and regulations you were taught and makes you second guess yourself. Literally incorrect information is present in this app.

Passed on Second Attempt. Immediately downloaded this app after failing first attempt. This is my first written review EVER so take that for what it’s worth. This app was worth every penny. Top 3 investment by a long shot.

Great prep app. Anyone who gave this a bad review needs to study more. The questions mock registry very well and made passing the nremt a cakewalk. Worth every penny.

Best app out there. Failed the NREMT 3 times and then used this app to study for the 4th attempt and passed at 71 questions. Make sure to read and understand the reasoning behind the correct answer and you’ll do great! If I could give 10 stars I would

Save your money!. I don’t even know where to start with this. For a man who is highly respected in this field, it absolutely befuddles me how this app is a pure mess. - Expect handful of questions involving things that aren’t in the textbook. - Questions with irrelevant material that you won’t be tested on. - Poorly designed questions, and answers - Contradicting answers - Limited number of questions, and tests for an app that is $29.99 All in all, save your money, and don’t make the mistake I did. This app has a 3.5 rating for a reason.

10 stars if possible!!. The questions were close to what is on the exam. Most questions have two answers that are right but the app explains why the actual answer is the better choice (on the review portion). It thoroughly explains what fluff words to look out for. It was pricey but well worth it. Definitely cheaper than having to retake the exam. The NREMT cut me off at 73 questions and this was my main study source.

Best emt app. This app is great. I’ve had other emt apps and the full versions but this one will prepare you the best. My teacher recommended it and it is hard but that’s what you want when you want to be prepared for an exam why so easier apps that give false confidence. Other apps will ask easier questions and this one is more like the real exam it ask sophisticated questions and the answers are more closely related to the answers where other apps it has ridiculous answers. I was getting like a 75% on their practice exams and passed my nat exam first try. Highly recommended

Pocket prep way better.. Just passed NREMT today. Pocket prep was way more useful.

Do not recommend in the slightest. I have been using this app to study for my upcoming NREMT exam and this app has done nothing but make me second guess myself on almost everything. There have been multiple times that I have answered a question to get it wrong, to then come across the same question again later and get it wrong again because the correct answer changed from when I saw it the first time. Not only that but I have come across multiple typos and grammatical errors on this app as well. I know that sounds extremely critical but if I’m spending money on this app I expect much better than that. I KNOW MY STUFF but this app is making me feel otherwise.

So far I’m very happy with this app.. I was one of the misfortunate few that received a failure email after my NREMT, which really really sucked, but I decided to look at it as a detour, not a final destination. I studied A LOT before my NREMT, and did well during my entire course, but I was totally caught off guard by the NREMT question vocabulary and style, and even though I was a whisper away from passing it, close enough doesn’t count. After the test I had a lot of difficulty finding material that felt like the NREMT style, and so far this was the closest thing I’ve found. It feels almost exact really, and I feel it describes the NREMT mindset really well. Apps like EMT Prep are great if you struggle with the concepts, but that app didn’t feel like it did anything to prepare me for how the NREMT was going to be. I’m not to the finish line yet, but this app sure has helped me feel a lot more confident again. I’m thankful for that.

Syncing Data?. The app has good questions but frequently says syncing data and glitches out.

Hated it!. Absolute biggest waste of money. Not helpful at all. The app is glitchy and terribly made. The questions are so much harder than the NREMT, but not in a way that helps you improve. Many of the questions are dumb and irrelevant for the EMT level. Do not buy! I passed the NREMT first try and would recommend studying the course content and using EMT prep (it’s way better!)

It works. This app offered me a lot of hard questions that forced me to think and develop a better understanding of the core concepts. The practice tests were excellent because after you work threw all the modules you use what you learned to interpret new questions. I passed the NREMT first go, 70 question cut off in under 30 mins thanks to this app.

Better app. I brought this app because it was recommended by my EMT instructor. I don’t like it and I’m using a better and more understandable app .

WORST EMT APP DONT waste your money. I bought this because of the reputation of Limmer. Many of the questions are relevant but the answers the app says are correct are not - they directly contradict the textbook. This app does nothing but to confuse the student and provide contradictory information in the EMS field.

Amazing. I could not recommend this app more. Although it is a little pricey, it was much worth every penny because it was the sole reason I passed my first time taking the NREMT. Questions are very challenging but prepare you very well for the exam. I used this app as my main study guide for the exam and I honestly found the NREMT easier compared to the app. Great this app as a study tool, not something to use to test your knowledge. Read every summary given for each question and review topics as needed. Finished the NREMT at 70 questions in roughly 40 minutes.

Somewhat helpful, but ultimately confusing. This app was good, not great, in preparing me for my NREMT. I ultimately passed in my first attempt, but I attribute that more to my education than this app. I wanted to love the app. I spent a lot of time and money using EMT Prep in advance of the NREMT, but ultimately, I don’t think it was worth the cost. PROS -Helped prepare me for the types of questions and format/style of the exam. -Reminded me about some content I hadn’t thought or remembered to review. CONS -I found many questions either directly conflicted with what I’d been taught in school, or even with other questions asked within the app. -No way to get clarification when answers between 2 questions conflicted. Explanations are always given for answers, but no way to compare them if they conflict. -Absolutely shook my confidence in what I thought I knew. Overall, I was much more prepared than I thought when I purchased this app. The app led me to believe I didn’t know anything and would fail the NREMT. I somewhat panicked the morning of even though I KNEW MY STUFF. I don’t think the app gave me a fair assessment of what I knew, and I totally disagree that it is updated every year. Some of the content was definitely out of date!

I’m a little disappointed. After purchasing this app I thought it was alright but the questions are horrific for example “32-year-old male who is a non swimmer fell form his boat. His fishing partner called 911 when you arrive his partner is swimming to shore with him in a cross-chest carry. You helped pull him from the water he is unresponsive apnea and you have a weak pulse. You should next”. A. Begin chest compressions B. Deliver rescue breaths C. Administered oxygen by non-breather mask D. Insert an OPA airway I said answer D It said B I’m no expert and I may be wrong but I am very positive it is D you never want to do a rescue breaths on someone because they could have a sexually transmitted disease by you putting your lips on someone could transmit the disease to you. Also this guy probably has a lot of water in his system and end up throwing up in your mouth while you’re doing it.

Nothing like the NREMT. I got this app to help me study for the NREMT because Dan Limmer was also the author of my class textbook. However, when I tried these questions, I found they were significantly harder than anything I had been asked in class, and often contained information I had never been taught. Then when I actually took the exam, the questions were nothing like the ones in this app. They were basically the exact questions that we were asked in my EMT class exams. If you read his textbook, you’ll be fine. This app will do nothing but shatter your confidence.

My review and opinion. Using this app isn't the best option; however, it breaks the sections into the 5 NREMT content area. Which is nice. The downfall is that it limit you on questions and not having more questions. For instance, you pick OBSTETRICS you are only given 40 questions maxed. No new questions throughout the day. There two tests about 120 questions. I highly not recommend this app to you. But study your books and other resources.

Best practice quiz app out there!. This app is the toughest and most accurate NREMT study tool available. If you can pass these review and practice questions, you’ll be certain to ace the NREMT. Will recommend this app forever!

Don’t buy. App contradicts what was in the textbook. This app shattered my confidence. I had a low 90’s average in my EMT class. Most of the test and reviews on this app I scored 52-66%. Many questions contradict what was taught in the text book. Very discouraging!

This app made me pass. I failed the NREMT on my first try primarily using the pocket prep app which is absolute garbage compared to this one. Yes this one is more expensive but the questions are extremely similar to the National and so is the wording which is just as important. I failed the first test at 120 question and aced my second National at 70 questions. If you’re looking to pass the NREMT, buy this app.

Best NREMT App. 10 minutes into reviewing and taking the test I can say it’s the closet NREMT style review and test prep. Definitely would recommend.

Absolutely a waste. Do not buy this, I just wasted $30, many of the questions and answers are absolutely wrong and will cause you to fail the NREMT if you use the information. I’m so upset that I wasted money on this app. 10/10 do not recommend

Great app!. This app is great! It really helped me pass the NREMT! It gives great rationals on why you are wrong or right on your questions & hundreds of questions to practice with along with practice exams. Thank you!!

It’s debatable…. This app is good for practice, however I feel a lot of things contradict what I have previously learned in the classroom. It’s a double edged sword because you get to learn more but at the same time it makes you doubt a lot of what you actually know. One big problem I have is the misspelling in some of the questions, it makes me wonder how much effort was really put into such an expensive app and how accurate it can really be if some of the words are not spelled correctly.

Hard questions. The questions are really hard. I love the explanation of why the right answer is right but at the same time these feel like paramedic questions

This app is the reason I passed first try. The questions in this app are actually harder than the ones on the registry. They also do a great job of explaining not only why the answer is right, but why the others were wrong.

Good for confusing you. A lot of their “correct” answers are a direct contradiction to what the book/class teachers you. That is not helpful.

10/10 would recommend. Questions on here are wayyyyy harder than the ones on the NREMT , passed my first try! :)

Helped me pass NREMT. The questions on this app are challenging which is good because it makes the NREMT seem easier. Overall good app.

I eventually enjoyed using this app to study.. When I first began EMT everyone recommended both this app and EMS Pocket prep. I will admit at first I liked pocket prep more and I still recommend it. The questions on this one just seemed more difficult and I couldn’t understand them. Eventually I decided I’m going conquer this app and really focus on why the answers are the way the app explains them. When it finally clicks then you will understand. I’m a decent test taker when I can memorize key words but the NREMT isn’t like that. I think in the end this app helped me a lot. I ended up passing on my first try.

Suboptimal study tool overall but some good questions. I can tell you that I’m a pretty good test taker and know how to get top scores. The most important thing is to have a deep understanding of the concepts like the whys and hows. This app does have a few good questions that force you to think about the different processes of the underlying condition but a lot of the explanations are inadequate in that regard and just say things like “this question is really hard, you’d pass if you got this one right”. The explanations also sometimes are entirely mismatched with the question. For example, one question explained that loss of potassium pump was the main cause of cell death but the question was asking what was the main cause of hypoxia. If you really want to do well and know the content well, study pathophysiology. It’s really easy to remember what the symptoms are for a given medical condition if you understand how it works. If you know what the main benefit or action of the different treatments it’s pretty easy to figure out when and why you need to use certain treatments in certain cases. Yes, there is some brute memorization still like for dosage, but this way it’s fairly minimal.
