NO Picture in Picture?? UGH!. It’s a real shame, Discovery+ does NOT offer Picture in Picture. It’s my #1 and ONLY complaint. The fact that you’re unable, to do ANYTHING else, on your devices while using the app…is really frustrating. If you want to go through emails, check social media, google something or go to your texts…. YOU CAN’T! So. If you’re watching a show via Discovery+ …. That’s the ONLY thing, you’re allowed to do, on your device. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Hopefully, Discovery+ app developers will add the Picture in Picture feature. Offering Picture in Picture… I can almost guarantee that Discovery+ would hit the ball outa the park AND would be used more frequently by its subscribers. 🤞 *To end my review on a good note…. Discovery+ has a great selection of shows and movies…. There’s something for everyone. Definitely worth every penny to go ad free.

Something I’ve noticed.. I always thought Discovery was about science and adventure and just what the title says DISCOVERY. Unless it’s a cooking show baking contest or home improvement series, I’ve noticed in several series I’ve watched you’ve become a lot like Expedition Unknown or even Ghost Hunters that your team or host are in the field and Never Ever find anything and when they do, it is at the point where people are about to tune out so you have to find something (example) Expedition Big Foot. I know no one has ever caught an actual big foot on camera but 3 people covering 10’s of thousands of wooded forest for 2 -3 weeks? That’s impossible in itself. Now in the last 2 episodes of season 2 finds a huge very noticeable print and then bam forest fire. How do you guarantee these participants credibility so they can continue with their actual work? Don’t get me wrong I love the variety of shows but this seems to be the new trend hook the viewer then rip the hook out. This is just my opinion.

Amazing Content; Awful UI. The content on Discovery+ is absolutely amazing and I love it. The app itself is so frustrating; you finish watching a show and it immediately throws you into a different show. Dear Discovery, I can find my own shows to watch, stop with the AutoPlay. Then, the show that was forced on you, is in your ‘Continue Watching’ and you cannot remove it. An option to clear the ‘Continue Watching’ section needs to be added. When I do watch a show, all the way through, or an episode, the episodes remain in the ‘Continue Watching’ section, sometimes all of them. The episode has completed, why is it still there? The content is great, but the app itself has a long way to go to make using it enjoyable, and not frustrating. Go look at Disney+ or Netflix, they got it down right. Lastly, shows that we have in our ‘Watch List’, it would be nice to be notified when new episodes are available. UPDATE: 7/7/22 - Videos will not go full screen. As soon as you try, the UI freezes and doesn’t let you do anything. This app is so awful. I cannot wait until it’s merged with HBO Max. For the love of god, whoever designed this app, keep them away from the new one.

Please Adjust the now-playing options. My biggest con is how the app works when you are playing a show and casting it to your TV. There’s no “now showing” menu option so I often get lost because I’m also browsing other things on my phone. That means pausing or stopping is very difficult. This is even more annoying when it is set to automatically play next, but if there are no newer episodes of that show it defaults to the same brother vs brother season 1 episode 1 show. Over and over. Then there is some lag between pausing the show and stopping casting (just hitting stop casting doesn’t automatically pause the episode like most other apps) The algorithm on the featured programming seems a little off— for example tonight was premier of battle on the beach on HGTV. Lots of ads on Facebook for it. But when I go to the discovery + app it’s not on the Home Screen of featured programs or on the HGTV feature programs. I had to manually search for the show. I’d also like it to be more clear when I’ve already watched a show. Otherwise I love the concept of having some of my favorite networks and programs available in one app.

Stable but needs change. The app is really stable, however you recently watched ( not finished ) episodes appear middle of the 'for you' page. His should be at the top, instead of me having to scroll half way down a list of trash TV I could give a sheet less about. When you're clicking on a show on desktop it doesn't take you to an 'about page' for the show, it automatically starts playing an episode. You have to hover over the show, wait for a little drop down bar to appear, and then click on that to get the 'about' page with the episode list. There is also no way to know what shows are currently airing. It would be nice if they would make that easily seen, some kind of dot, star, check mark, anything. I haven't had cable in 10 years, it's nice to finally watch shows as they are airing, but I have no idea what's been on TV and is still airing current episodes.

Content is fine but UX is NOT. If I were to cancel an app, it would be this one- hands down. Paying top rate for a no commercials plan is alright if the UX is great *and* the content is good. But, expecting anyone to pay for an app that pauses when they turn their phone is **incredibly irritating.** When comparing Discovery+ with other streaming competitors, it’s hard to understand why this hasn’t been fixed. Now, I turn my attention to the lack of PiP. *It’s frankly unacceptable in 2022.* As an early subscriber, I figured it would be in the very next update after the app was released. But no. It’s been a LONG time. And still, there is no PiP. How is this possible? At this point, one can only assume that Discovery (and the dev team) must be incredibly bullish on NOT adding basic features like PiP (or fixing the rotating/pausing situation) because it’s hard to believe they could be completely unaware of ALL the complaints that have come in. Furthermore, in the time since the app was released, other than fixing bugs on the backend, what have they *actually* done to update the UX of the app? For the Discovery+ folks who respond to people’s reviews here, although I’m sure it will never be shared, it would undoubtedly be great to have a general understanding as to when subscribers can expect some of these essential updates to happen.

Great service, but…. For the most part, I’m really happy with Discovery +. It has TONS of content. But it doesn’t offer a lot in the way of setting options. I would love to see the following added to this app: 1) the ability to turn off auto start of a new show when I complete a show. Usually the new show (that the app chooses for me) is not anything I’m interested in, and it now stays in my “Continued Watching” list 2) the ability to remove items from Continued Watching. Mine is full of shows I’ll never watch due to the auto start feature and shows I’ve already watched that are just hanging there. If features like this are added, this would be a really great app! Update: response from Discovery+ is that I can fast-forward through an episode to remove it from Continued Watching. This is not a solution. Fast forwarding only makes the next episode show up, so you have to fast forward through every episode in the season. Then another show auto-starts and shows up anyway. No one wants to spend time doing this Discovery+!

Love it but there’s also some issues. While I love watching the discovery plus app I feel like there were some seasons of tv shows that were missing such as the crocodile Hunter and monster quest missing a couple of its seasons like season 3 and for monster quest and seasons 1 2 3 and 4 for The Crocodile Hunter as well as some things like Jurassic Fight Club not being on the history section and it was on the history channel 14 years ago. But all in it was fine but there have been continuous times where it would stop and act like it doesn’t have WiFi on the tv but also because recently the shows I have on list in there went missing and now can’t find any of my favorite shows on there even quite a lot of discover-plus original shows have went missing I hope you guys fix these issues as well as stopping the crashes on tv from happening and I also hope you add in the missing seasons from some shows and in shows that were on the listed channels that hadn’t been seen in years as well as the original episodes of The Crocodile Hunter too

App improvements and content. It’s hard to search on the app. When playing the video and you move the phone so the screen changes the video stops and I have to press play again. Very annoying. I know this isn’t Netflix but their app is awesome. Discover+ has a long way to go to be competitive with Netflix and the ease of using the app on different devices. Also, where are all the 90s and early 2000s shows. Are they not adapted to stream? Please work on that. Current shows do not have the quality as discovery once had. Everything is forced drama. I got this app for shark week and you just hold current material. There are so many good shows discovery has that parents would love to keep showing their kids. Big untapped audience. This site would be AMAZING if you could include older content. Both old school and new school audiences will have a place on this app. I use discovery+ the least of all my streaming because I hate all the new shows that focus on peoples personal problems and not passing along information like discovery once did. Thank you.

Been a Discovery Network fan. I’ve been a long time Discovery Network fan. I’m able to pretty much watch anything they televise. Since the pandemic started, I’ve been into a lot of true crime documentaries and shows; I usually set recordings for specific shows that I’m into, I’m not a fan of re-enactments, so I love the fact that I can sort through the shows and tap the plus sign and boom! It’s in my playlist, and the suggestions so far have been on point. The app itself, works better than the previous streaming apps I downloaded, it’s easy to navigate, it’s a monthly subscription price, however, at least you get what you pay for anddddd some; with Discovery Plus. The “ad-free” option is...guess what?!...actually AD FREE! No hidden lies with your hard earned money, especially during the pandemic. For a streaming app, I’m impressed financially and engineerly (😂) That’s all folks! Enjoy!

Ghostober??????New Content?????. I’ve subscribed to discovery+ since the very beginning and it WAS one of my favorite streaming apps, however the longer it has been available the WORSE IT GETS……..NO NEW CONTENT…..October WAS always what I looked forward to the most…….now there’s nothing, they say new episodes on Friday……nothing….I can watch them on regular cable before I can watch them on discovery +…….i thought the whole reason for subscribing to this streaming app was to watch content on the same day as when it’s available on cable….most of the paranormal & unexplained is crap!! Dead Files is by far the best! AND FOR CRAPSAKE TAKE GHOST ADVENTURES OFF…THEY ARE THE FAKEST GHOST SHOW EVER!!! Zak Bagans is nothing but a con!! I’m also so disappointed by the true crime genre, it’s mostly over acted re-enacted content. I like the more realistic versions, when it’s more focused on how the victims are affected and getting justice for them, talking to the victims families and police detectives. A more documentary style is easier to follow and understand. My personal opinion - DON’T PAY FOR THIS STREAMING SERVICE WHEN YOU CAN WATCH THE SAME SHOWS ON REGULAR CABLE!

Nice app — one very annoying issue (AppleTV). App seems to be nice and stable on iOS/iPadOS and TVOS 15. Good catalog selection, and an ad-free version FTW, also excellent video/audio quality. My only gripe is that when selecting a program season (and episode) in the TVOS interface, even a momentary pause while scrolling through seasons bounces the selection back up to “Watch Now”. I can’t imagine how anyone would consider this good interface behavior. A touch/gesture-based app should never change the active interface element unless the user performs a deliberate click or gesture. I’m going to allow that perhaps the app UI was designed prior to the current AppleTV (with the newer remote) and may have different behavior with the older touch-pad remote. This is why I am awarding four stars instead of two — yes, it’s that bad. Please review the behavior against the current platform. The issue makes an otherwise stellar AppleTV streamer quite annoying to use.

Good start, needs some work. The app is fairly stable and the service has a great library of shows. The areas it needs work are in app features and organization of shows within a season. App features needed are: Picture in Picture and easier access to resuming a show. Currently to resume, I have to either go to a show and then resume from there or on the home page scroll down to the bottom and find the episode I want to resume. It would also be nice to be able to mark an episode watched from the resume section because sometimes an episode is selected by accident and then you can’t get rid of it from the resume row. As for organization, the example is Gold Rush where the season extras called The Dirt needs to be played throughout the season for it to make sense but it’s organized at the end so events have already occurred when watching mid season episodes of The Dirt. But all in all, a good app for launch.

Good app, not great yet. UPDATE: It’s been quite a while, and there’s still no indication that it’ll ever get PiP. Picture in Picture is a huge factor for me in which streaming apps to use, so I’ll probably end up cancelling this subscription app when I do my streamlining later this month. Great content, but horrible customer service in that the developers appear to be responsive—responding to people’s comments—but then make no actually changes to a major flaw in the functionality. I’m hardly the only person who’s asked for PiP—I see half a dozen reviews right away—and pretty much all the other streaming platforms have it from the beginning. Disappointing. —— This app has a lot of great potential—lots of shows to watch. But, the browsing isn’t intuitive, and it hits my number one pet peeve for streaming apps: it doesn’t allow for Picture in Picture. Which means that you can’t multi-task while playing the app. Here’s hoping that they’ll include this functionality, but I’m not holding my breath.

Not sure yet. I 1,000,000,000% love love love the ID channel and my TV never leaves it!! (Except for Oxygen)…it’s LITERALLY just ALWAYS on in the background…sometimes I’m watching it, sometimes I’m just listening to it while doing all my many single-Mom tasks (which I LOVE TO DO; don’t get it twisted 💯💯💯👩‍👧👩‍👧👩‍👧🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏), and sometimes it’s just on in the background or while I’m sleeping (doesn’t give me nightmares; although I’ve met people that swear it does them 🤷‍♀️). I find it empowering and comforting that people have been through such horrible circumstances and have survived and are thriving…mostly. It gives me courage, as I have been through some very horrific things in my life as well. 💯🙏 P.S. Lieutenant Joe Kenda for President of the United States…think about it…I’m just saying 😉💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 BUT HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS WHOLE STREAMING THING THAT I FINALLY PURCHASED LAST NIGHT 🤷‍♀️💯🙁 It’s giving me so many errors & I can’t get a REAL customer service person to help me & it’s getting very frustrating & am about to cancel the service.

More accessibility features. I love this app a lot but it would be nicer for VoiceOver user to be able to use player options there is a player you are a button accessibility by the close button but when you click it it doesn’t do nothing far as tapping on the main screen throughout the content it does tell you what episode or genre you’re on which is real nice about the app but if you can improve your accessibility features so you can either back up 15 seconds pause or play forward 15 seconds that would be real nice I would definitely rate it five stars i’m totally blind I use voiceover on my iPhone 12 pro max and I love streaming the Haunting The price on a monthly subscriptions are not bad at all I’m just asking for more accessibility features in your app if it’s possible thank you because I can’t get to the player options itself I just started a subscription and I love it keep up the good work and please make it more accessible

Great content- glitchy app. I love all the different channels and content available- this app has become our go to over the last week. However there have been multiple issues while watching on Apple TV. The big one is if I decide to stop watching a show and try to back out of it, it takes a bit of time to go back to the menu and even then, the audio of the show continues to play, and I can’t scroll through the menu while that’s going on. I have to actually back the whole way out to the Apple TV Home Screen in order to get the audio to stop and wait a few min from there to get the Discovery app to “reset”. Next issue, not as major, is when an episode ends and is moving on to the next automatically, I get an error when it attempts to auto play. Once I click “try again”, it does move on though. The last thing I’ve noticed is on several occasions once an ad airs, when the episode comes back on, it’ll have reset the show back to a previous point. If it lets me fast forward (it gets hung up and almost laggy when this happens as in the previous situation of trying to back out of an episode), it’ll hit the same commercial break and just jump backwards in the episode again.

Not user friendly….. There’s nothing in the app or the streaming service that indicates newest episodes of your favorite shows. I’m a big fan of 90-Day Fiancé which has had many spin-off shows related to the 90-Day Fiancé originals. The only problem (which is very time consuming) is that the newest episodes of any of the 90-Day shows & spin-offs (which are advertised as containing all the newest episodes) are not showing the dates of any episodes - which makes it very hard to find the newest episodes of the series that maybe you missed. I usually give up because it is an exercise in frustration and one literally has to hunt for the most recent episodes. I can only imagine that this is the norm for all the networks. Can’t you come up with a more user friendly interface that makes it easier to find by listing original dates of the episodes that one is searching for? I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated by this and I’m probably going to have to cancel my subscription of $4.99 monthly for a streaming service I can’t navigate.

Okay but…. There really needs to be a settings feature to permanently disable automatically playing a related program. If I want to watch something else, I should be the one to decide what it should be, not an algorithm that gets it wrong 9/10 times. Trying to desperately click the menu button on an AppleTV remote in a losing battle to stop a different show starting is highly frustrating. For that matter, I want to be able to turn off automatically playing the next episode in a series. Not have it hang out in the continue watching menu. Speaking of, there also needs to be a way to clear the continue watching section that isn’t deleting my entire profile and starting over. There is a reason I stopped watching a given program and having it stuck there forever is not awesome. It’s not even good or mediocre. It’s terrible. Seeing it there is not going to convince me to finish it. I want those shows to disappear. Especially when trying to fast forward through it will automatically make a new program start! See the perpetual downward spiral we’re stuck in? The app has been around a hot minute, these kinds of problems should have been looked at and fixed by now.

Great content, streaming nightmare.. Gonna be honest and say I don’t usually review apps and several people have commented about this in other reviews, but I stream a lot of content to my smart tv and this app is ~garbage~ when it comes to streaming. Doesn’t matter what I use, I get constant disconnection errors when I try to watch a different program, shows unable to be retrieved, etc. and it seems like unless I want to binge the same show and watch nothing else or just watch things on my phone/laptop…it’s not a great investment beyond the price point it’s at, and when it goes up (and it will go up), if the app is at this quality still I’m going to have to unsubscribe. Also, the subtitling is extremely off. Turns itself off, turns itself on, changes languages on its own, and will unsync to the point where it’s minutes ahead or behind. This is extremely frustrating as a person with audio processing issues. Now, the content itself is great. And vast. That’s why I’m here. I’d sure like to watch any of it.

App is severely lacking. This review is about the app specifically, not the streaming service. The app is the worst streaming app I have. Watching on my phone is so inconvenient with Discovery+ for 3 reasons. The first is that there isn’t a place where they list the shows you regularly watch. They list the episodes you’ve recently watched, but it’s hard to get from there to the show page, I end up having to search for the show instead. Very inconvenient. The second is that for use on a mobile device, the app does not do well with my phone changing directions. If I’m doing laundry, and grab my phone to take with me and the phone goes sideways the other way, it pauses the show. Which is super annoying and doesn’t happen on any other streaming service I have. Lastly, and in my opinion the worst, they haven’t adopted the mini player that is available on all other streaming versions. It’s so annoying that my show can’t go to a small screen when I get a text, I have to completely turn it off to check. These are all features that are available in every other streaming service app, so I don’t understand why the Discovery+ app doesn’t have them.

Good catalog, playback features still lacking. There’s a lot of Discovery content, and a little History, to entertain for endless hours. There are some playback features and functions you might miss from other streaming services. 1. There’s no way to connect to Chromecast or another device on your TV until AFTER you start an episode. This means you have to buffer, load, and play the video on your phone before you can tell it to connect to a external device on your TV. It’s very annoying. 2. The streaming on your TV/Chromcast and the controls on the phone lose sync so you sometimes have to stop, reconnect and start again to change playback. You also my need to know the exact show and episode playing to click back into it to get the controls back. 3. My biggest annoyance is the app will not stop streaming on a Chromecast unless you manually stop it. There’s no “are you there” option to check in and save your data usage and stop streaming after a few episodes if the TV is shut off while still streaming. If you set the sleep timer on your TV while a show is playing it will play all night and all day until you turn the TV back on the next night…and it’s still streaming. Has happened to me several times. I like the service, but the app it’s lacking some of the refined user experience features that users expect from a streaming service day one. This was either rushed out and not extensively tested, or it was never extensively tested. Neither is really acceptable.

I wish they would fix their issues. I don’t know what it is with this streaming site, but I seem to have issues with them all the time. I will watch multiple episodes of a show and the close the app or leave the web page for the night, when I come back to the main page, it will tell me I have episodes I watched and finished in my to be continued section. Then with just the app, all the shows start mute in the beginning and it either comes on in a minute or I have to rewind for it to kick in. Now the subtitles come on every episode, even though I just turned them off on the previous episode and every setting on my AppleTV says no subtitles. Also, at first the subtitles were set to Automatic (Recommended), but when I deleted and reinstalled the app for the probably 20th time since signing up, now the subtitles turn on at English, no longer the automatic option and unless I’ve missed an option somewhere I can’t get them to just stay off. I have no problems when any of the other streaming apps and I pretty much have them all. This is the only one that has been a headache since I got it. If it wasn’t for some of the shows, I would of canceled it the 1st day…. Forgot to add, that episodes will go in an out of being clear to fuzzy pictures, when watching and again it’s the only streaming services that does it.

Great App!!. We love this app! We watch a lot of the Discovery family’s channels. When we had to drop our regular tv package we immediately picked up Discovery + for the price and listings. The only issues that we’ve had so far is that during any program we watch, it will freeze for a few seconds anywhere from one to three times an episode. It wouldn’t be so bad if it picked up where it left off, but it doesn’t and instead picks up wherever it’s supposed to be (I hope I explained that right). Another is that sometimes we watch a few seconds/minutes of a show to see if we’ve seen that episode or not and in doing so it builds up in the “Resume Watching” queue. It would be nice if there were a deletion option so that you could find the episodes you actually do want to resume faster. Honestly, if those two problems were addressed, this app would be close to perfect! We love that we still get to watch most of our favorite shows with significantly shorter commercial times and for a great value price!!

Watchlist option please. Love the app and use it a whole lot, but I like to put together a watchlist on the iPad so when I open it up on my tv, it’s all set to go. So much easier to do watchlists on a device. There is sadly no option to do this when you do a search. While you can add a series to your watchlist, if I search for say “Christmas” and find something I want to see, it only opens it up and starts playing it instead of giving me the info and “add to watchlist” stuff. Have been loving finding all of the old programs that started discovery and TLC (back when it was the learning channel) and hope you open the vault for even more! Liquid Design, crafts shows and the original cooking stuff pre food network from back then and more were so much fun and what built the channels. Would be great to see them again. Please add these options to everything we search for and this app will be even better!

Overall Review. I find this very well put together and has almost everything you could ever want to watch from these shows episodes. I have noticed that some seasons are not included in some (shows?) not sure why that is🤔.. One thing I do wish is that I they would have mini series on this. I’m not sure if I just never found anything they have or if they just haven’t put that one out yet? Or will ever put it out.🧐.. I love the Paranormal episodes and I love the Historical stuff as well. One thing I do hope for is that they try to keep up better with adding new seasons to this. I’ve noticed some shows add them as they come on tv. But others are not??. One show being the Skinwalker Ranch show. I really love that show along with Ghost Adventures. I loved Holzer File’s but it don’t look like there will be any more of them??. They always start a good thing and then stop it☹️. Okay thanks so much for your time. I do love this Discovery + very much. I’ll be watching shows forever.

App need lots of work. The contents of the app are great and love watching the shows I love. BUT the app is like using the very first streaming apps that ever came out. I use the app to stream to my TV and when I do the quality of the video is so awful. (No I’m not just watching older shows. I watch the magnolia network shows and the quality was still bad ONLY when streaming to my TV.) I haven’t had this problem with any of my other streaming apps. I can’t use my phone to answer a text without fear of having the app glitch out when streaming to my TV. There have been many times when I get a FaceTime call and I can’t easily pause the video to answer. When that happens I have to close the app then re-open the app, find the show I was watching, press play from where ever it wants to play (from the very beginning or a whole different episode) then press pause. After my calls, I have to re find my place and I had a problem with finding my place then after an ad break it hopped back to the very beginning of the episode (I had to restart the app). It is not user friendly but all streaming apps have gone through this phase so I will keep the app in the hopes that it will be better in the near future. If not I’ll just cancel and delete the app. I STRONGLY SUGGEST HAVING A WAY TO STREAM TO A TV BEFORE PRESSING PLAY ON A SHOW (helps with the long buffer).

Glitchy app but like the content. This app is extremely frustrating. It’s constantly buffering when I’m trying to watch something on my smart TV and I’ve confirmed it’s not my internet connection. Other streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime don’t have this issue. Additionally, the app often doesn’t save my place if I’ve only watched a portion of a show and come back later. I go to continue the episode and it shows I’m only 3 minutes into the show even if I had watched 30min. The app also regularly freezes and gives an error message when trying to start the next episode automatically. You have to click “try again” a couple of times before it works. I think the interface is also not great compared to other platforms. For example, there’s no easy way to see when a show on your list has a new episode- you have to manually go to My List and scroll through each individual show which is pretty inefficient. I will also note I’ve reported these issues before and Discovery + support attempted to help, but the handful of suggestions they gave didn’t change anything. I really like the content so I’ll keep my subscription for now, but I really hope they are working on improving it significantly. From the other reviews it seems that other people have similar struggles with this app.

Canceled my subscription. I hate that the only streaming app I have on my phone that doesn’t allow Picture in Picture is the discovery+ app. I love to watch shows while I multitask and I can’t do that if I want to watch from the app. As much as I love the shows on Discovery+, I canceled my subscription. I’m a mom and the only electronic device in the house that I get to use is my phone. I need to be able to answer texts/emails and work on my small business while I enjoy my shows. Every other streaming service allows you to watch your show while doing other things from your phone. Why Discovery wants to hold it’s users hostage to their app is beyond me. It doesn’t hurt them to allow others to multitask but they refuse to fix it. It’s arrogant of them to require users to only use their app and tie up their phone unless they’re willing to exit in and out of the app. If they ever get around to fixing it, I might actually purchase it again. 🤷🏼‍♀️ But until then the other streaming services will get my cash.

Help it’s not working. Hey y’all I do t know what’s wrong but I updated my app earlier and since then it has not been working. My subscription is paid for and I am not sure of what may be wrong. I love this app and usually am quite satisfied with it. I don’t understand since it’s a paid for subscription and not just thru a tv provider why it doesn’t include all the old and new shows on each channel such as with lifetime -Cell Mate Secrets isn’t on there and with Hgtv, lots of the classics are missing such as All the Sarah Richardson shows like Design inc, Room Service,Sarah 101, Sarah’s House(and cottage etc),Sarah sees potential, and the new Sarah off the Grid, Divine Design,Candace Tells All, Shop this Room and more plus on some of the others random episodes are missing. But other than that and the fact my app is not working at this moment (and I uninstalled and reinstalled and still not working ) I love this app more than any other I have

Great app but connection issues and no active watch bar. This app has brought all my favorite channels into one place along with exclusive content and I’m delighted. However, there is room for improvement. The picture is sometimes blurry when I’m casting to my Google Chromecast. Its usually spotty or clears up after about five minutes but there was one day where it stayed blurry and pixelated the entire day. Maybe the connection to the server can be stronger. Also, I would like a “watch bar” at the bottom of the app for when I’m casting like Netflix has. If you go out of the show you are currently watching there is no bar at the bottom of the screen that shows what you’re currently watching. This is especially aggravating because the app auto plays to a different show if the one you’re watching finishes. So I’ve had to go searching in the app for the new show that’s playing, click into the episode, just to be able to stop it from playing. This is insane to have to do. What I’m actively watching (via chrome cast) should always be available in a bar right at the bottom of the screen. The shows and variety are great but the app could use some better functionality. Please think more of people who use Chromecasts.

Needs work. Overall, it’s great, but there are a few things that are needed. A simple rating system (like Netflix’s not for me, liked it, loved it) would be great. More importantly, though, the app (iPad, Apple TV, iPhone - all of them) needs to track what you’ve watched and properly display it as watched. Yesterday I binged a show for hours. I watched episode after episode and just let the auto play go. Somehow, though, most of the episodes have only half of the progress bar showing in the episode list screen - making it look like I’ve only watched a portion of them even though I’ve watched all of every episode. It’s incredibly annoying to have episodes I watched to completion months ago show up in my Continue Watching. The next suggestion is related … allow us to mark an episode as watched - especially if the app is unable to correctly track what’s been watched on its own. Fix the Continue Watching issue and I’d update my rating. As it is, though, it’s 3 stars at best for me.

App needs improvement. I was initially irritated that people were being forced to get Discovery+ if they wanted to continue to watch certain shows. If I’m being honest, I’m still irritated. However, when looking at this from a financial perspective, in the long run this will save me money, as I will be canceling direct tv now that our contract is up. This may not be the case for others, so it is frustrating to know that this network is basically requiring you to pay more money for something that you are already paying for with cable. Yes I get it. It’s only $5, that’s not the point. Ok, that’s the end of my rant lol... I so far am enjoying g the content. However, the app could use some improvement. When you’re streaming a show to your television from the app and close the app it often times will shut the app down completely not allowing you to click back open to the app to rewind or fast-forward. And then have to go into your continue watching section where it restarts the episode in the wrong spot. It would also be nice to have the option to remove episodes from the continue watching section. Also I am unable to download this app on my chrome cast televisions. And PLEASE, when I have finished an episode, take it off of the continue watching section. That drives me bonkers!!

Thank you🌟🌟🌟I love Discovery+ and I’m constantly subscribing and canceling for the pure fact that I would probably watch entirely your content and not content on other streaming apps. The ONLY exception is that 9 out of 10 times I’m watching on my phone; and you don’t have the PIP feature. ALL streaming apps have now added the Picture in Picture feature allowing us to multitask on our phones while watching your content. You not having this feature is what literally makes me not watch your content or use your app. Multitasking is life now, if I can’t text my kids, friends, check the weather and multitask while watching your content in the upper corner of my screen; I’m probably going to cancel your service and go with another streaming service because that’s a super important feature now. Please consider keeping up with important app features such as this. Thanks

Closed captioning doesn’t work. Hello. I love this app. It’s my go-to app to watch on my Roku stick. However. About a month ago the closed captioning stopped working. I like to keep it on so I don’t have to have my tv so loud. Especially for some shows where the people are soft spoken. Sometimes I’ll get lucky and they will work, but that is becoming more and more rare. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my Roku (bc it everything works fine on the app on my phone), unplugging and resetting the Roku itself. I’ve logged out and back on. Nothing works. I’ve started to watch the shows on cable bc the captions work there. But I pay for D+ with no ads, so I would prefer to watch on my Roku. I put up a question on Reddit to see if I was the only one with these issues. I am not. Everyone is having the same issues and I am. Please fix this issue.

20 plus years loving discovery but….. I buy and have paid for Discovery for year now and killed my cable service. Yet a year or so ago things changed on discovery, I love all the Home shows and the Paranormal show but little by little they have been cancelled. I have waited for new shows but nothing. One of our older shows has started again but we are afraid like other we have seen there will be 6 or 8 episodes and then it will be over. At one point Discovery was the only streaming channel we would watch after work. But now we find nothing that gets our interest on discovery except a home show once in a while. If nothing changes soon I don’t see why to keep paying for something we do t watch anymore. Thought a while back we heard someone new took over and if that was true it seems they have put their personal interests into what is put on and not what people like to watch. I see group chats all the time about the same thing I am writing to you about now and how people are turning to other stations to find what they want. Maybe my voice won’t be heard or matter but Discover was the first streaming channel I did and never thought I would ever cancel it and it’s will be sad if they don’t hear us. I paid for the top package and would again if things would change. If nothing changes by June of 2023 I will cancel.

Needs a lot of work. I love the content but this app is the worst. On iOS there is no PiP and automatic rotation to full screen, both of which are frustrating. However the most annoying thing is that every time I start a new episode or close and reopen the app, captions come on. Then I have to go in and see that no the captions are not checked off. In order to get them to turn off I have to manually turn on closed caption then play the show and go back in after a second to turn it off again. This process repeats EVERY new episode even if it’s on auto play and every time a video is restarted. It is so frustrating especially with the lack of PiP sometimes I have to close out a couple of times in a short time. This app also buffers more than any other streaming service. It’s slow and unreliable and will sometimes just decide the videos don’t load and it has a gray screen until you force the app closed. I wish someone would look into the glitches in one of these updates and actually change something noticeable.

Closed captioning can’t be turned off. Tried to research and troubleshoot using suggested methods via help site of discovery +, as well as individuals who have tried to fix, but cannot get closed captioning to turn off. This is the only app that is doing this currently, so does not appear to be iOS/Apple issue. Seeing online that others are having this same issue. I have only noticed it within the last month. I am happy the option is there for those that it helps, but EXTREMELY frustrating to have in on when you didn’t put it on, and the one direction to turn it off, per the help site, it not available. Please fix this. Love this app, but will delete and cancel my subscription if not fixed. Update, I did find that I was able to now see and get to a closed captioning button, and turn it off! Thank you.

Continue Watching / New Episode Lists are ALWAYS Inconsistent. Overall, this streaming channel is fantastic. My main frustration lies in the Continue Watching list. If I stop watching a show or episode in one room and move to another, it’s like the app hasn’t caught up with itself. There’s either at least a 15 minute lag, or the show is nowhere to be found on the list. I end up having to search for it (even though it’s been added to My List as a favorite) in order to resume. It would be amazing to have the ability to “pin” my Top 5 or Top 10 shows at the very top so they never change order or become difficult to find. Also, favorited shows with new episodes should stay at the head of the New Episode Lists until they’ve been watched, not just for the day it was released. If I’ve never once watched an episode of Seeking Brother Husband, why do I need to know there’s a new episode available??? C’mon, man.

Best app, no connection issues. This is the best App I have now. All the shows I like and new ones I’m enjoying. Especially Mike Rowe Six Degrees. I’ve read where some people are having connection issues. I’ve had the app since day one on my phone and Apple TV with zero connection issues what so ever. All 5 of my kids have been chain watching shows and all say the same thing no issues at all. Maybe delete the app and add it back. Or now with all the amount of data being used look into your internet connection. I had 300 MPs download but had so many things connected slowed it down and froze a lot. I switched to 1 gig download and all my problems stopped. I can watch 4K movies in multiple rooms all streaming with no issues anymore. It could also be your phones data plan too with certain low data things active you will get break ups. And I’m using a iPhone 11 Pro when I watch.

Some suggestions. I’m happy with the content of the shows on this app and it was very easy to set up on my tv, iPad, etc, but when I go to a category and select a show to be on my List, or just to look at the description, there’s no way to get back to where I was in the listings. I’m immediately sent back to the beginning of the Home page and I have to start searching categories from scratch. Also, I’ve messed around watching some shows and now these shows are stuck in the Continue list. There’s some shows I looked at and have no intention of watching to the end and I can’t get rid of them. I even fast forwarded one to the end and the next episode immediately came up! Now I have that one and the previous ep (because it shows two seconds left)also stuck in Continue! I’m sure you’re working on these things, and I look forward to getting bug fixes and improvements in the future, but it’s so annoying to have these shows clogging up the space. Netflix has an option that says “remove this title from this row”. It’s a very good option. Just a thought.

App won’t work on several devices after updating. I’m really frustrated! I started using the app at the start of January, and it worked perfectly fine on two devices - my FireStick and LG smart TV. The LG tv is the main device I use. I think I’ve used the app almost every day since downloading. I opened the app yesterday, 1/18, and got a message saying there was an update, so I installed it and tried launching the app. The Discovery+ logo popped up on the screen and stayed there…the app wouldn’t go any further. I turned my tv off, waited a few minutes, and turned it on to try again. Same thing - just a frozen screen with the logo. I gave up and decided to try again today, thinking it just needed some time. Nope. It will not work. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it…nothing! I decided to then check my account to see if there was anything I could do. I signed in on my phone’s browser and was then prompted to download the app, so I did. I got all the way through the process and when I attempted to launch it on my iPhone, I got a message saying it’s not available in my area! What?! It still won’t work on my TV. What’s going on? I was a very happy customer (I love the selection of channels and programs from Discovery+) and now I’m the complete opposite. Please provide an update and/or solution.

Technical issues. The only thing that I’ve ever had trouble with in the almost 2 years I’ve had my account is sometimes opening the app on my Samsung tv just doesn’t work. It will say it’s loading for a second, then it will go to the grey “Discovery+” logo and just sit there. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the app (no luck), cleared the cache (also with no luck), and then cleared the data & cache and it still doesn’t do anything. I’ve done pretty much everything except for factory resetting my tv, which I’m not going to do because it’s only the discovery app that does this. Every other app works fine, and even the discovery app on my phone works with no issues. Eventually it will work again as this has happened a handful of times throughout my experience with the app, but it’s just annoying to want to watch a show on the tv and end up having to pick a completely different app. I love this app so much and I really believe that the price is great the content that is available and being add free, but it seems like they’ve *still* got a few bugs to work out.

Pretty great but…. 1/9/23 update: developers added a NEW label to show icons when a new episode was posted but it has disappeared and I miss it! It was very helpful to see what was new content. If the NEW label didn’t work, could you maybe prioritize shows with new episodes to be listed in the Featured menu on the logged in landing/Home page? It would help so much to have new episodes called out somehow. I’ve seen other apps with banners on the show icons that read ‘New episodes Wednesdays’ when a new season is being added one episode at a time. Previous review: The app is not consistently responsive on my Hisense Roku TV which is probably just from the TV being old. What would really make this service great would be a label or banner across a show icon when there are new episodes being released each week similar to what you see on Peacock. This helps me know which of my favorite shows have a new season of episodes coming out weekly without having to click on the icon and go into the show’s main page. Food for thought! Great app otherwise. I especially appreciate the backlighting/border to indicate what your curser is sitting on.

Great service, app function not so much. Love all the channels and shows we can get. This is the streaming app we use more than any other. However… you need to learn how to build an app there are some pretty pathetic rookie kinks in this app that only belong in one built by a tiny amateur company. For starters I should not still see every single episode of every show we’ve watched in my continue watching list. Secondly and I think partly to blame for the first issue is the fact that each episode we watch seems to scroll back several minutes after we finish it. So if we continue to the next episode then back out before we finish it, the previous episode shows before the current one on the list causing us to continue an episode we’ve already watched when we try to pick up where we left off if we don’t pay really close attention. It’s incredibly frustrating! I really hope your developers get on the ball soon. In conclusion… progress tracking of episodes needs to be more accurate and delete completed episodes from the continue watching list. I should see 5 or 6 episodes there but instead there’s over 100. It’s been this way from the start I know I’m not the only one to complain and I don’t think this is too much to expect

Needs Some Kinks Worked Out. Overall, this app is amazing but it still has to work out some kinks. The price is great, especially to have the ad-free version. I was hoping it was the answer to cancelling another streaming service I subscribe to but this app doesn’t have the original 90 Day Fiancé show, just a streaming channel. Also, random episodes are missing on some shows, so I again have to revert to my other streaming service to watch there. The app freezes briefly on Roku TV after pausing or rewinding, and will skip over the part it freezes on. I’ve had no issues casting from my iPhone to my Vizio TV. I can still use my phone while it’s casting and there is no freezing or glitching. The functionality of the home screen needs some improvement organizationally and to provide the ability to delete episodes in “Continue Watching”. When it auto plays or I check out shows, I don’t necessarily want them to stay in “Continue Watching” because then I have to scroll through those to get to what I really want to continue watching. The catalog of shows is exceptional and I do love that some shows are unedited - very refreshing to be able to listen to people swear instead of hearing “beeep beeeep”. I would honestly pay more to have them remove the censorship bleeps from all shows (Gold Rush, I’m looking at you). I was sure I would cancel after the trial but I’ve stayed on as a subscriber because we now watch Discovery+ more than our other streaming services.

I love it, but it also can be frustrating.. I love this app. I'm so incredibly happy with the selection of shows and networks. But I have a huge problem streaming anything to my smart TV. This app has a horrible system for streaming. It's almost impossible to pause/play your show while also browsing the app. I've found that I have to go back into the show I'm watching, click the exact episode I'm watching, and then the app with allow me to pause the show. I just wish there was a better way to control streaming while also using the app. Other big streaming apps have an interface that's on screen all the time while streaming to allow you to control your show as you browse the app. It would be huge if you guys added one too. Another problem I'm experiencing is the app not playing the episode at all, or with the sound only. The app will connect to my TV but won't load the episode or picture. The last problem I've experienced is sometimes the app will replay 5 to 10 minutes of my show over and over again. The only way to escape this seemingly never ending loop is to skip ahead past the repeated scene. Otherwise I love this app so much and I will continue to use it, especially if streaming becomes easier to use.

Screen mirroring ability on tv is (apparently) a must to Chromecast. As others have said, the app works horribly (or not at all sometimes) with Chromecast. Yes, the content available is fantastic, which makes this casting issue so frustrating. I have contacted the help team, multiple times about this. I’ve done every suggestion they’ve given (cleared cache, re-downloaded the app, reset my WiFi, etc.) and nothing helps. I will say the team are always very responsive and try to help. But what I learned from one team member after all of these suggestions failed is that unless you have a tv/setup that enables screen mirroring on your tv, attempting to Chromecast will continue to be problematic. That’s unfortunate considering many people don’t have this option, including myself. I have an iPhone, but not a newer tv capable of this. It feels a bit disingenuous to find this out AFTER I’d paid for a subscription. I’ve continued to keep my subscription because the amount of content is great, but will not be renewing at the end of this month. To potential customers I would say be wary if you plan on Chromecasting but don’t have the screen mirroring function on your tv. To the potential developer’s response- I have already been through the help process and suggestions. I don’t need to go through it again. I just need the Chromecasting to be vastly improved. Please fix this!

Auto Play / Continue Watching BIG FAILS. No way to turn off auto play. Which on its own would be confusing and annoying but still minor. Problem is, it decides to move on to a (big surprise) Discovery+ original show even though there are more episodes in the season and more seasons of the show I was watching. Still wouldn’t be so bad if there were a way to remove a complete show from Continue Watching. But there’s not. I’ve seen Developer Responses to this issue in other reviews. I’m not talking a stray episode here and there, I mean entire seasons of unwanted episodes. Am I really expected to fast forward through all of them just to clear them out of a list they never should have belonged in? Where they are obscuring episodes I really DO want to continue watching? I can only assume that the intent is to inflate the “viewing” numbers for the shadow promoted shows. And don’t bother telling me that you’ll pass my feedback to the development team. I was a developer for many years. They’re workers taking orders, they don’t make decisions. This exact complaint exists in reviews more than a year old and very recent. It’s quite clear that Discovery+ has no intention of correcting this “problem”. Since from their perspective, it’s a valuable marketing tool. I’ll keep my subscription because of the excellent content. And I’ll keep hoping that your merge with HBO changes your perspective on customer satisfaction and making apps that actually work as the customer wants them to.

Can’t control the “continue watching” list. I have contacted them multiple times over the last year, year and a half, about not being able remove things from the continue watching list without having to go through a million steps. They keep saying they’ll pass it on and strive to make the viewing experience better. Still nothing. I have episodes I have watched already show up in that list 3 or 4 times and I have to “watch” them again and that doesn’t always remove them or it does and then it shows up again, especially if I go back and forth between watching on my tablet or on my computer. The viewer shouldn’t have to “watch” episodes multiple times just to maybe be able to edit that list. We should have the option to just x them out. The library’s great, but this issue sometimes has me seriously consider canceling because it gets so frustrating having to through all that when every streaming service lets their users x shows off that list

decent enough but…. it’s got a lot of value in the app but for some reason they are selective about what new release shows get put on the service some are only put on after they have run through their season on the live channels and this is quite annoying and for some reason it just happens with certain shows expedition x is the latest example and it’s on season 6 and this season is the first one that isn’t on the same day on the service and their doesn’t seem to be any reason for it and it’s certainly not because of too much “new content”on discovery plus hopefully they can fix these issues because it’s really one of the only grips but seeing how it’s on some of the more popular shows it can be annoying especially when your excited the see the promotions on the channel only to find out you can’t watch the new season on the actual app for the channel it’s bizarre to say the least and would love to see that go away in the future

The app is terrible. I like discovery+ on the smart tv, but the app on my iPad is just terrible. It’s constantly buffering so it takes about 40 mins to watch 10mins of show. My iPad is up to date, the app is up to date, and my service connection is excellent, so the issue is with this app. I’ve stopped even attempting to watch anything on this app, and might just cancel my subscription completely.

No PIP. I can’t believe there is no Picture in Picture for iPhone (where you have the mini screen playing while you do other things). I can’t watch to the show while I multitask. Will likely be cancelling my subscription due to this.

Not happy. The same commercials over and over and over…not being able to watch shows the morning the come out like it was before is almost enough to make me cancel my subscription.

List. It’s a great mobile website but when I go to my list, not everything is there. The shows still say that they’re on my list if I search them but they still don’t show up when I tap the my list button. Other than that, everything is great. They have a ridiculous amount of shows and a good variety. It’s all reality shows so if you don’t like that, you might not want to subscribe.

Commercials. Don’t know why I’m paying for commercials every 10 minutes it seems like!! Over that

The best and easiest solution to TV!. It’s confusing which apps to download and pay for. You can end up spending a lot of money. I tell all my friends— Discovery+ It’s the BEST!

So slow.. This app is so incredibly slow and choppy. I’ve tried everything on my side and nothing is helping. Don’t waste your money.

Bugs and problems. The content is great but the App is full of bugs. I can’t watch a full episode of anything without being brought back to ten minutes in when an add hits. Then I can’t forward or rewind and just have to rewatch. It does this sometimes multiple times an episode. It’s almost unwatchable at this point.

Great lineup for the price. My only issues are that the app is not very intuitive - when my new episodes are avail, it rarely shows me. Then it plays the episode I just watched again. Also, the content doesn’t tell you the date of the show - I don’t want to watch a documentary stating that it’s the newest information on a subject, only to find out it’s from 18 years ago… And I dislike that I can’t get rid of/hide shows I don’t want to watch - for example, every time I finish watching anything, it automatically starts playing a gold mining show that I really don’t enjoy at all! But for the price, and the content, I’m mostly happy with the channel.

Update - Price increase. *The audacity to increase the subscription fee is beyond me! This is THE worst tv app with a million repetition ads and it gets so stuck that it will it forward or rewind. There's also hardly ever any new content. Canceled my subscription today. I can steal the same shows elsewhere Please fix the forward and rewind??? Every time I want to skip forward I have to watch the same ad and it doesn’t forward. This app is not cheap, fix it please

Discovery+ is working now. At first people were upset the app was not working, but around 5pm MST it was working for me. So give it another try. Discovery+ was immediately worth the $7 CAD. I get to watch all my favourite shows on the network, OCC, Dirty Jobs, Joe Kenda, all on demand. Thank you for bringing this amazing service to Canada.

Geoblock. Can’t understand how the app works on my wife’s iPad and the family television but I’m Geoblocked on my iPad.

Great shows, no offline capability. I thoroughly enjoy many of the shows offered through this streaming service. My one complain, although it appears possible for Americans to download shows for offline viewing, it appears this option is not available in Canada, or is so hidden it’s impossible to find. I just wish I could take my favourite shows with me on the road.

It’s tv. I find I watch this streaming service over everything else.

This app WAS good. So before I could watch a new show that came out on the same day at anytime. Now. I have to wait until the exact time it comes out in tv, does it make sense?? Why have the app anyway and pay a subscription when i can just watch it on tv?! It was 1000% more enjoyable being able to watch it hours before it comes out on tv. So very dumb for removing that feature. And other issue is loading, it never shows a new the new show on the screen until mins after it’s airing on tv. Why do I have to wait?? Fix both issues and may become enjoyable one again. But for now. Will be canceling.

My fave of all my apps. By far the best app available. No matter what mood you were in you can watch documentaries, cooking, shows, reality, TV, etc. Always something interesting to watch.

iPad app not working. I haven't tried the Apple TV app, but for some odd reason, the iPad app isn't working for me. I try to watch something and it keeps giving me an error message! Very frustrating. Please fix the iPad app thx.

Love Discovery+, Hate the App.. In Canada you cannot download shows to watch offline. I believe it’s a feature in the US now, but to not have it available to subscribers in Canada is ridiculous. All your competitors have that ability.

ADS, ADS, ADS every 5 minutes. I gave this app a 1, for the only reason that I dont understand how it is possible that I am paying for the subscription monthly, yet there is a 50 second ad(3 ads) every 5 minutes. And if I want to rewind or forward I have to watch another 3 ads every time. You would think they would take off ads if you are paying for their app. It doesnt make sense! Discovery+ DO BETTER. TAKE THE ADS OFF.

Replaced Crave with Discovery+. I cancelled my Crave subscription after one week of subscribing to Discovery+ . Crave subscription $22.34/mo and had a slow pace in content sharing with nothing exclusive to offer. Discovery+ $2.99/mo. I am way more entertained on Discovery+ which includes TLC, Travel Chanel, HGTV, ID, Discovery Chanel, Planet Earth and more.

Basic Features need major tweaking. Fast forward and rewind never work properly. If you even go forwards or back for 15 seconds you’re forced to watch a one minute ad. The app doesn’t tell you what shows have new episodes when it’s in your list. If you stop watching on one device you can’t pick up where you left off on another device, despite using your own profile

No downloading option. Only good for in service

Discovery +. I downloaded the app all excited to watch my favourite shows I can’t open it it says please download the latest version which I have I’m so disappointed hope there’s a fix for this ??? Anyone please help

streaming issues. inconsistent streaming. Lots of freezing of the app. Remind me what I’m paying for again? Update: contacted customer support, they had me do all these crazy things and it has not resolved the issue, just wasted my time! FIX THE APP, don’t expect customers to do all the work on our end. None of my other streaking services has issues like this. Still having issues daily with buffering. Having to reset my modem and iPad every day and even that doesn’t always fix the issue.

Finally!. I’ve been waiting for an app like this for years. I absolutely love reality TV, not talking real housewives type reality but real quality entertaining shows. Since it’s about 90% of what my husband and I watch and we refuse to pay the ever increasing prices of cable TV and are bored of the selection Netflix has, this app really fills that gap and also fills my need for paranormal TV shows as well!

CNN. If and when the live streams of CNN come to Discovery+ the way they are in the states on Max will I subscribe. I can’t justify the Discovery+ price for me personally until live CNN content is here. With CNN live on Discovery+, it has its self a deal with me, I will subscribe.

Latest update completely broke this app for me.. Now all I get is “Something went wrong. Please try again.” Deleted app. Re-installed. Still get same issue. iPadOS 17.0.2 on iPad Pro 12.9 m1. I’ll give it a couple days to be fixed. After that, I’ll likely be cancelling my sub. In only watched the shows on my iPad anyway. Makes no sense to be paying for something I can’t use. Can’t even use the service via Safari. It forces me to download the app.

Garbage. I love thé content but the app is garbage. I just renewed my subscription after it lapses because my credit card expire before I noticed. So subscription is reinstated but I can’t get I. The app. Keep getting errors. Can’t log out. Can’t log in . Second time this has happened. I can’t believe nobody else has this problem. Lucky I guess.

Awesome App!!!. Discovery + has fantastic content. There’s always something interesting to watch. The variety of documentaries, vet and animal content is so entertaining… I LOVE IT!!!!! Trish

Great app for reality TV. My wife and I enjoy many of the reality TV shows available. My only complaint would be that there is no way to download episodes to watch when we are off the grid at the cottage. The app appears to be well made and we haven’t encountered any bugs.

I’m thoroughly enjoying the amount of shows offered that I love to watch and the price is perfect. Please never go over $10/mo and you’ll have a customer for a very long time. ————- On the iPhone13 mini, I can’t turn my phone into landscape mode and the button to go full screen in landscape won’t work at all, rendering this app useless unless you cast to TV. Casting works great, but I want to watch shows from my phone most of the time. Shame. Canceled during free trial until bugs get worked out. All my other apps will go full screen and I’ve checked my settings. Everything is fine. Not sure why it won’t work.

Love Discovery but app has issues.. I love the shows on Discovery Plus! It took me a while to figure out how to get it to work with Chromecast because the ‘help section’ was no help. Support is actually great. They do respond and quickly. Issues. It’s hard to get a show to stop playing. Closing and disconnecting, I find the show often keeps playing. I’ll log back in to find it’s played through a few seasons of the show. You have to stop, disconnect and stop again. You can’t pause or rewind at the end of a show. Usually the option to go on to the next one starts after the show is over, here it’s 30 seconds or so in and very inconvenient. Also, if you stop a show at the very end it stays in your continue watching cue. Usually apps don’t do that. It basically never comes off either. You pretty much have to start the next episode. The shows are great. Worth the hassles of the app.

Great content, not great app. I had to write this because this app has the most content but most annoying bug out of my 5 streaming apps. No matter what I watch when I return to continue programming the app never saves in the same or correct spot. I will be 30 minutes in an episode and pause to go to work or bed and when I continue that episode sometimes restarts at beginning or it starts 10 minutes in and sometimes it starts near the end and sometimes it skips the rest of the episode and starts a new one. This only happens on discovery app and 8 out of 10 times, it got so annoying that anything I watch I have to write down what episode and where I stopped and it’s getting really frustrating. Had to change to a one star, it would be really nice to be able to continue watching a show where I left off like on every single other streaming app. On top of this you can’t even click on a show to see what episode I am on nor select another, just starts and continues from a different point every time.

New content is lacking something. I subscribe to the ad free package. I love a lot of the older true crime shows and paranormal shows (before ghost hunting became all the rage). The new content must be aimed at a different age group/ mindset because it does absolutely nothing for me. I tried watching Crimes Gone Viral and it’s pathetic. I can watch a surveillance video and figure out what happened. Example: I started a random episode titled Grab and Go. After seeing a small portion of this surveillance video a talking head starts telling you how to perceive what you just saw. IMDB told me the hero of the story was David Mann - Fought off gunman. I knew the gun was either a shotgun or rifle from observations made while watching the relentlessly looping snippet of video. Searched for David Mann rifle, didn’t get much; searched for David Mann shotgun, found the news story. Watched the entire video and heard pertinent information from the man himself. I now feel fully informed. Took less than five minutes. Yes, it’s that terrible!

Love it....but needs a few things. I love Discovery plus there are just a few kinks I think need to be worked out.... 1 Please Please Please bring back Picture in Picture mode!!!!!!! I love listening to the app in the background, having it playing while other apps are open and being able to play while the phone is locked. The app had this when it was first released and for some reason it just disappeared so this is a major want in order for me to keep paying for the app. 2 not as major but the new “channels” feature that just has non stop of the same show playing is great, but It’s not easily accessible from the Home Screen and I always have to look for the show to get that channel which is a little annoying.. All in all love the app and the discovery family of networks shows and with these changes I will be a happy customer

Just some small functionality kinks. Love discovery plus! There are just a few main things that would make the app more fluid. 1) Picture in Picture accessibility on IOS/iPad would be huge. I would love to watch a show and have it keep playing while I answer a quick text message or check a notification. 2) Being able to edit the home screen would be helpful too. The system has trouble keeping up with what episodes I’ve finished across my tv/iPad/phone, so the “continue watching” section is always full of half-watched episodes that I’ve already finished. It never seems to update. I would love to be able to remove those from my continue watching list. Overall, happy to have the content on-the-go though!

Great shows, terrible layout and playback glitches. We’ve been trying to watch deadliest catch. It’s a great show, they have a ton of great shows, but it’s constantly glitching out. We’ll be watching the episodes in order but when we go to continue watching it will list a bunch of random out of order episodes to watch next and we’re constantly trying to find where we left off. Sometimes we’ll be mid episode and a commercial comes on and then when the show comes back it’ll be starting a new episode that’s 2 episodes in the future! It makes no sense. It jumps all over the place. Plus we have to search for the show every time we’re trying to find a specific episode bc the home screen continue watching episode option will list S8E3, S8E9, S9E5, S13E1 meanwhile we can’t find S8E10 unless we search the show from the search tab every single time. I don’t know if that made any sense, it’s too complicated to find let alone explain. IT help out discovery please.

My several friends and family are cancelling and using cable for TLC instead. The app used to be amazing. Hence… USED TO BE. You paid for the luxury of the streaming service to get better access and quicker access to shows on all of discovery’s networks. The last few months you can watch something on cable before it ever even becomes available on the app. Sometimes you have to wait until the next day. This used to be one of mine and my family’s favorite apps. You had early access to episodes. It was well worth the money. Not even at the low price point they have it now is it worth paying for on top of cable. If you have cable I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this app. It has definitely fallen short of what it set out to be a couple of years ago when it first came around. The lack of upkeep by programmers to this app has just gone out the window. You asked me 2 years ago.. even 2 months ago I would’ve given this app 5 stars. The inconsistencies and inconveniences of it to this day it’s barely pushing 3 stars anymore.

App needs some work. I am a huge fan of this content. But this platform is lacking. When I watch a show the app doesn’t seem to record where I am and I will have to remember then go back to that show from the search function. The channels feature is very limited. If you are not a fan of the show’s highlighted then you really won’t use channels. The app has so much content and could be so great if the developers put a little more into it. The channels could really be better. Even a mirror of what is on the actual channels I.e. TLC all the time. As of now it’s difficult to find things and I need to really look for what I want to watch. I use the app regularly but only for what I know I want to see. It would be great if the functionality was easier and would filter out some stuff that is making it harder for me to find shows I want to watch.

It has great promise but still glitchy. App is improving with time and use. Only reason I give it three stars. When it first came out it did a lot of weird things and crashed a lot. Crashing less, still glitching when streaming. The roku version is way more glitchy than the mobile version. We pay for ad-free content so I wish it would be a little more smooth like our other streaming content. We really don’t watch traditional “cable’ or “dish” anymore. It’s all about the apps on the smart tv and If I’m paying per ‘channel” I wish and hope that there’s no development bugs. Sadly I get kicked out of a show a lot, or it restarts, or sometimes I have to totally reboot the tv after using the discovery+ app. TV is relatively new (a year?) and no other app does this. Otherwise? I love the content. I love the variety. I love that it’s all in one place now and I don’t have seven or more apps for each channel.

More accessibility features. I love this app a lot but it would be nicer for VoiceOver user to be able to use player options there is a player you are a button accessibility by the close button but when you click it it doesn’t do nothing far as tapping on the main screen throughout the content it does tell you what episode or genre you’re on which is real nice about the app but if you can improve your accessibility features so you can either back up 15 seconds pause or play forward 15 seconds that would be real nice I would definitely rate it five stars i’m totally blind I use voiceover on my iPhone 12 pro max and I love streaming the Haunting The price on a monthly subscriptions are not bad at all I’m just asking for more accessibility features in your app if it’s possible thank you because I can’t get to the player options itself I just started a subscription and I love it keep up the good work and please make it more accessible

I have been waiting years for this. I love and enjoy Discovery Plus. I pay for the non commercials and It’s a one stop shop for every show I watched when I had cable TV. I primarily ordered it for Magnolia Network, Ghost Adventure series and HGTV. But I love exploring other content as well. Feedback, I would like to see all seasons uploaded for each show. Not just a few seasons. Other than that I have had no issues logging in and watching. The only issue I’ve come across is that if I watch a show on my phone, it doesn’t quite keep up to where I left off if I watch the same show on my TV (fire stick) or desktop computer. Overall i really enjoy D+ and I also use my account to login to the Magnolia website where I can watch content and shop as well. I’m happy with my service.

The app. I absolutely LOVE Discovery +!!!! The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars and not 5, is for the function of the app on my iPhone and iPad…. Both of my devices are less than a year old, I work days away from home and in free time I like to watch my shows and a good majority of them are on Discovery +…. The app is slow, doesn’t load certain shows until I back out of them 3 or 4 times, it freezes up and I have to clear the app out and repeat. If Im not doing that, it’s taking a long time for the show to load before it will even play.( I don’t think it’s a WiFi problem because other apps and the internet work fine when connected to the same WiFi) I don’t know if anyone else is experiencing this, but if this can be fixed it would most definitely, in my opinion, be the best app for watching a lot of my favorite shows (and I have many subscriptions!)

First Big Fail. I received an email notice announcing the availability of the latest episode of Design Star Next Gen late on the day I expected it would be available. Navigating to the series on my favorites list I noted that the new episode was not on the list of those available so I clicked on “Watch Now” only to get a list of old episodes. Reloading my favorites list, re-opening the series page over-and-over, then restarting the app didn’t change anything. If you are going to say it’s available for viewing, it better be there. Now the time I had set aside for this is wasted... I will now be one week behind when next week at this time I watch this weeks episode. Streaming is not very convenient for those of us used to set schedules.

Pausing During Shows. I love ALL the content on this app however there are 3 main issues that are annoying and problematic for our viewing pleasure. There are pause breaks during the shows that I HATE. It’s difficult to enjoy the show when there are breaks and pauses that cuts off parts of the show. These breaks and pauses aren’t where the commercial breaks would normally happen and it’s beyond frustrating. The second issue is that when you’re watching a show sometimes it won’t go to the next episodes and it goes to a black screen. Lastly, episodes will not clear off the Continue Watching list!!! This is beyond annoying as well because once we watch an episode it’s impossible to clean off your Continue Watching list because those episodes can’t be removed!!! I hope someone can take care of these issues to make the app better.

Works fine but missing a basic feature. Since the dawn of internet streaming, it’s been an accepted user interface standard that pushing the space bar pauses and unpauses a video. So when you have a keyboard attached to your iPad, the spacebar should pause and unpause the video. Incredibly basic functionality that this app doesn’t have. I know that’s an annoyingly small thing to complain about and give a bad review for. But I spent a lot of money on the Magic Keyboard for the iPad. It’s attached almost all the time, especially when I’m watching shows. The iPad is essentially my laptop. So any iPad app, and especially one that just came out (given Apple’s own iPad keyboards have been out for years now and are standard accessories), should support at least the most very basic keyboard functionalities. Instead, the keyboard does nothing. I’d happily revise my review when they provide at least basic keyboard support.

Updated review. [Edit below] This app is packed with so many shows that I want to binge, & would happily stay subscribed beyond the 3 month period, but streaming is often dreadful. And it’s ONLY this app. On glorious rare occasions the shows are crisp, but more often than not they look worse than watching VHS on an antenna in the 70’s. Step it up & I’ll happily return. EDIT: It was a lot of back & forth, & then a full month of no communication, but I finally heard back (on the day that I’d scheduled myself to unsubscribe…talk about timing). “I am pleased to inform you that our engineering team has found and fixed the issue that was causing the buffering and poor video quality when streaming on iPhones and iPads.” I’ve been kicking the app’s tires & I’m pleased. Changing the rating to 4 stars. Knocking one off, because I can’t multitask, which is annoying, but it’s worth the subscription otherwise.

It’s a great app but things could be fix/adjusted. Love the app, theres literally everything for a wide span of people with different interests to come and watch on. I do suggest that after finishing all of the episodes/season of a show(s) it doesn’t go to the next one you’ve already watch and restart it from the very first season. For example when finishing watching 90 Day Fiancé and then also finishing watching Single Life it shouldn’t go back and restart everything I watch in 90 Day Fiancé. It’s with all the shows I have watched and it should just go to a whole new show that’s ever been watched just “suggested.” That’s just one main slight annoyance, although overall the app is really great, easy to use, and has a big variety of genres/categories of shows, movies, documentaries, etc. to watch.

Needs work by Developers MAJOR HINTS below 👇. Since Warner Bros. took over this app has gone downhill FAST. It’s overloaded with shows on murder & crimes (which frankly can be offensive or inappropriate for children). As well as pushing “woke” liberal politics as is shown by the pathetic ad above promoting a so called January 6 show (CNN+ bombed for a reason guys!) Slapping a Discovery logo on CNN footage isn’t going to get people to watch it…js America doesn’t want to watch about 'evil' in today's world. I have had enough of the 90 days crap! And there is too much here that's not exactly 'family friendly'. MAJOR HINTS FOR DEVELOPERS: • There needs to be a way to hide shows we don't like/find inappropriate. Just like blocking on social media! • ‘My List’ shouldn’t be limited as to how many shows we can add. Some are seasonal so they stay on the list but only have new shows at certain times of the year! • When there is a new episode of a show on ‘My List’ we should be notified somehow. Something as simple as a dot on the screen will work! • Recommendations shouldn’t include shows we’re already watching or have watched previously! This seriously is just plain logical. Warner Bros. needs to consider why people subscribe to this. Especially those of us who pay for AD FREE: To follow a show or topic of interest and not to be subject to propaganda.

New Episodes. I’ve noticed here the last couple of months that a lot of new episodes aren’t showing up on Disovery+ but instead being on Discovery go. If I’m paying for premium service then why am I having to watch Street Outlaws Fastest in America, Parker’s Trail was a day late and now I’ve noticed that Deadliest Catch is now only on Discovery go, so how many times do I have to continue to pay for satellite service to record something on Discovery that should be on Discovery+ already, especially when it was on the App before and would show up on the App at 4:00am the morning of the nightly episode. If I have to continue paying for satellite to see the shows I watch on the App I may as well cancel the App instead of paying twice for the same product. Some thing is wrong with this world in todays times.

A lot of great shows but.... There’s a lot of great shows on here, but there’s also a LOT of shows missing. This is especially apparent on the History Channel tab where I was hoping to have access to the old-school documentaries, that are actually about history, that I miss, now that the channel is all reality TV. But I guess they’re lost to the oblivion because they’re not here or on any other app I can find. There’s other notable shows that should be on here that aren’t like Border Security. The Food Network tab is my most-watched, but even it is not all-inclusive. Finally, I don’t understand why Magnolia is a preview only. It adds value to this app, and with all the apps I’m already paying for, paying separately for Magnolia is going to be a really tough sell. All that said, I’m keeping Discovery+ in my portfolio of apps because the pros outweigh the cons.

PICTURE-IN-PICTURE feature not supported When I saw advertisements for this app, I was floored. It has the true crime shows I have been watching for years and the reality shows my mom adores—IN THE SAME APP. We don’t have to pay for cable anymore, and we pay one low price!! We chose ad free for $2 more. $4.99 ad price or $6.99 ad free, so this monthly subscription is less than $10 a month either way! No other streaming service is cheaper or better for what our family loves to watch. My only qualm is that it does not support picture-in-picture viewing (using iPhone), so when I want to check my email while I’m still listening and watching, I’m not able to do so without the app minimizing and having to reopen it. I hope they update this feature into an already awesome subscription service in the future. That being said, I absolutely adore this app and service. Thank you so much for saving my family and me a bunch of money while still being able to watch the things we love!!!

Disappointed. Update: I was contacted by a develop shortly after my comment. I was told to go to the help area of the Discovery+ website. I went to the website but it only had the ability to login and download the app. Logged in, clicked on a show and have not had a problem since. I wanted Discovery+ so I could watch Fixer Upper. Was able to get a 6 month promotion through Verizon and could not wait. Unfortunately it has taken forever to watch one episode. The App keeps crashing and I am only able to watch about two minutes at a time. Extremely frustrating. I am unable to download on my TV and can try to watch it on my iPad. I have restarted iPad, reinstalled the App and updated it and none of those have worked. I hope whatever the issue is it is fixed soon.

App ahead of its time!. Finally you don’t have to pay out the nose just to see the few interesting channels that cable offers because thankfully they’ve put them all in one place in one App, so you can stream all of them + a few more you never had a chance to even check out & do it without ads for not so very much more! Well worth it & I’d recommend it to everyone & have in fact used the sharing capabilities so some of my friends could check it out before they too became full time streamers! Thanks Discovery family for finally figuring out how to make the customer feel like they matter by not robbing them just because they prefer interesting content not becoming a zombie while watching someone else’s life (that’s kinda getting old but, to each his own). Absolutely the best App available. I have always loved science, history, paranormal, mysteries, social topics and so on. Of course due to my love of those subjects I often watch the channels associated with them like Discovery and History channel. However the platform on the Discovery+ App has opened my world the topics and interests I have dramatically since I now have access to not only the channels I’ve been familiar with, but now ones I didn’t know existed or didn’t realize were broadcasting the material I love so much. So to have them all in one place, for such a great reasonable price, also given it’s straight forward and easy use...it’s like it was made especially just for me! Thank you Discovery for creating this app for me and everyone else like me that still loves to learn!!!

Closed captioning can’t be turned off. Tried to research and troubleshoot using suggested methods via help site of discovery +, as well as individuals who have tried to fix, but cannot get closed captioning to turn off. This is the only app that is doing this currently, so does not appear to be iOS/Apple issue. Seeing online that others are having this same issue. I have only noticed it within the last month. I am happy the option is there for those that it helps, but EXTREMELY frustrating to have in on when you didn’t put it on, and the one direction to turn it off, per the help site, it not available. Please fix this. Love this app, but will delete and cancel my subscription if not fixed. Update, I did find that I was able to now see and get to a closed captioning button, and turn it off! Thank you.

Terrible language (parents beware!) and delayed seasons. First, we do like that all the channels we watch are in 1 place. We do not have the glitches that others are reporting. We watch on FireTV. However, there’s a few things we do not like at all. We are SUPER disappointed in Freddie Dodges new show that’s a Discovery+ production PARENTS BEWARE The language is horrible. The first episode is ok then bam F bombs every other word. As adults we can’t even stomach watching and listening to it much less let our children watch. We probably could if it were at least bleeped out. It’s just a bummer bc we love Freddie and thought it would be a family show based on the first episode. We were wrong. Also, the main reason we got the subscription is for MAINE CABIN MASTERS on DIY bc we don’t get DIY on YouTubeTV. Zero of the new episodes are there yet. At least release them as they are being released on cable once a week. Please! #freeseason6

Best app ever. At first I was a little bummed out that I had to pay for my favorite shows but in the app there is every show about ghosts and true crime I could ever ask for. All my favorite kind of shows in 1 place . At the touch of a button any time I’m ready to watch them . Honestly it’s worth the 5$. I don’t really watch a lot of tv so paying 5$ a month is a steal. There’s always all the free apps to watch regular programs as there are many other app channels included with discovery plus to list . You get so many specials and older ghost shows you may have forgotten,also specific true crime murder movies,programs made for tvmovie like shows. Too much to list . there’s also fun lgbt shows. So much I’m still previewing shows..BEST 5$I HAVE EVER SPENT.

This app needs work. I’m a big fan of all of the discovery shows and love the service. But this app is terrible. I’ll list a few of the major issues. First and foremost older content ie the first few seasons of Mythbusters play back in a windowed mode where there are black bars on the top, bottom and sides. It’s still 16:9 content so there’s no reason it can’t fill the whole screen and this problem remains true no matter the display I’m watching it on this is a critical flaw and needs to be fixed. Second bug that needs to be addressed is the problem of the current video pausing when you change your orientation from vertical to horizontal. No other media app I’ve ever used has this problem. Finally and this is honestly more of a quality of experience request than it is a bug but Picture in Picture support would be great so the new pop out video feature in iOS could be utilized. If you can fix these three issues my rating goes from 2 stars to 5. Thank you.

All I needed in a tv show. Discovery+ sincerely changed my life for the better. I immediately got attached to the people on the show like family friends etc. I have seen them so many times. The episodes just don’t get old. I love everything the show offers. I called up and suggested calendars be made of the awesome men and women on the show. I can just imagine all my friends receiving them as a present. I wager so many others would love to own their own and use as gifts. Watching N&A there are no worries or even most pains and problems on my mindlppp. Just my show. My friends. There again and again for me to enjoy. There’s a satisfaction other shows can’t match. Discovery+ fills a void. I hope so many other folks enjoy like I do the naked and afraid family.

Amazing App. I’ve read plenty of reviews raving about the catalog and amazing price and how amazing it works on their phone etc which is 100% true! I won’t go into all the amazing details, not because they shouldn’t be said but because except for one little hiccup I do not have a single gripe about this platform. My family from ages 13-42 all have plenty to watch and enjoy. The single hiccup is the repeat offense of needing to sign in if you haven’t opened the app in a day or two. It is not as prevalent on our phones as our smart TVs but is a constant hiccup. And a minor one (I just need to remind them of the sign in.) I don’t know if this is an error or security platform but if it is the former can this be addressed in an update? As I have already stated I and my family enjoy the app immensely and have no thoughts of ever not using it.

Unable To minimize well watching. I just started using this app and I love it a lot I watch it most of the day but if I get a text or an email or anything else it does not give me the ability to minimize it and check other things. All of my other apps allow me to minimize it while still watching it or keep it paused however I want so that I can therefore check my text messages check my emails certain things like that that I need to do throughout the day it would be really nice if that future could be added to this app I know that it would be beneficial I spoke with several people about it and everybody has the same only one complaint that we cannot minimize it we have to go completely out of the app in order to check other things on our phones or tablets and devices. This is my happy place!! ❤️. The world is so chaotic these days with all that has gone on with the pandemic so we need things that bring us joy and a sense of peace. I absolutely get that with this channel~ I can come home and watch shows that are so uplifting and yes they make me cry Happy tears but I’m ok with it, I love that! I’m a fan of the shows that do the good!! I feel so blessed to have Discovery+, I may have a bit of a friend crush for Chip & Jo and love some Hometown and have found my new soulmates Nate & Jeremiah!! It’s a good feeling knowing that I am spending my time watching shows that make a difference no matter how they do it, with food or decor, ripping out walls or jumping thru them. I know the outcome brings such happiness and that makes me a happy girl! Thank you for this channel!! 90 day fanatic HEARTBROKEN 💔. I subscribed when the streaming service launched because I wanted to keep up with all the 90 day shows. I loved it because I was promised early access to my favorite shows AND didn’t have to pay much for ad-free streaming. I could watch my episodes earlier on the day it airs. HOWEVER, I just noticed that for the last few months they stopped allowing me to watch my episodes earlier than the air time. I don’t understand why you would take that away for that I’d just watch on cable tv 😒😒 I love discovery+ but I think I’m going to cancel once my current month is up. It’s NOT worth paying for cable and an app. I got the app because the marketing said we would have early access, but now that I’m a subscriber you take it away. Shame shame shame!! 😒

Never knew how much I love it. Viking Returns Deadliest Catch - When I’m laughing and singing a crying it’s like being pulled through a knot-hole backwards. From the music, the cinematography, the authentic emotion of being on the water through storms in the bearing sea to the warmth of family in Norway Discovery fades away and the heart of family, the colors of the villages, the courage and grief carry me back through the loss of Jake’s father, the rugged brokenness of complicated, arresting and survival grief, etched across his face, and in the darkness the warmth of walking his fathers footsteps to family never known. The remains so few, but so precious home again safe in the arms of his Fatherland. I am moved deeply, that to know we followed this young man as a greenhorn, Daddy Captain and good son, who came full circle to make his father proud. Well done Discovery, Well Done Jake and Sig!

Like it, but . . .. occasionally the app just stops working, goes black, and forces me to get out of the app and then go back in to get it working. When moving one episode to the next it sometimes stalls, forcing me to fast forward a few seconds into the next episode to get it to restart. I figure it’s still ‘buggy’ since it’s so new. When I go to my list, and decide to check out a show, but then go back to my list, it takes me to the top of the list to start at again - I do have a long list. The biggest disappointment is that it advertises that everything from all of my favorite channels is in discovery+, but a show I was really looking forward to, Home Again with the Ford’s, isn’t in there. If I wasn’t paying through the nose for cable I wouldn’t be able to watch more than the first episode. There are a couple of other shows that are missing an early season that used to be in the HGTV or DIY apps before they were plundered for the discovery+ app.

Great app with most of the shows I watch. Discovery+ has almost all of the shows I watch and now has more content. Wish content was listed with most recent first and seasons the same way with “for example” shows with 7 seasons would be listed 7-1 instead of 1-7 and most recent show at the top. The way it is makes it a hard to find the most recently added content. I realize the pandemic is ruling currently and content would be better otherwise. Make no mistake the 4 star rating is for the app. Content is definitely 5 star. Prefer content with likable people. Would like the app to put frequently viewed content in a heading and maybe that is what For You is supposed to do, but it doesn’t seemed to do that very well.

Discovery Inc will you please listen?. I was under the impression that when Discovery bought Warner Brothers - and Discovery even hinted at it for almost a year, that the D+ app & HBO Max app would combine into 1 app. I was excited for this. Turns out lots of people online we’re excited at the prospect. Oh how we were all wrong! If ‘Max’ does do a price increase on that app and one on Discovery? I’ll get rid of both. I can barely afford both as it is (over $20 as it is and are expected to increase it yet again!). Times are tough and all the apps are increasing prices. Just got rid of the Disney+ bundle because we had a deal too good to pass up on a new Verizon plan for the price and a perk was the Disney bundle free. So that saved me over $20+ a month/$240+ a year. Combine the 2 and then it should be worth it! My very first app purchased was Discovery+ and I was happy with it. I moved to an area, unbeknownst to me that it has barely a cell reception AND not 1 single internet provider serves this area. Not a one! I always watched Discovery’s programming and the app was the solution. They need to put programming as it airs in order it airs on television and go back to the way it was - folks who purchased the app had first chance at seeing new programming. I’m almost begging for Discovery to do the right thing. If not, you’re going to lose many long time subscribers.

Clear Continue Watch! Pic In Pic!. Love this and watch regularly but please include fit to screen for larger phones and Picture in Picture. All the other streaming channels have these features. Thank you! Update 10/16- Please please also let us clear Continue Watching! After I watch a show I want to, something else starts playing immediately and then gets added to Continue Watching that I never chose in the first place! I have a whole bunch of shows I don’t want and it’s driving me crazy! This is so irritating I may cancel. Please do something about this! Update 8/3/22- bad new update. Screen will not go to horizontal. Please with all these updates let me clear my Continue Watching!! Also provide pic in pic so I can do other things on my phone while I watch the mini player. This is what fans are asking for!!

Waste. I have just registered for my new account on the Discovery + app and I am highly disappointed. I was so excited to get this subscription because of my favorite show 90 Fiancé and now I have learned that I’m not able to stream the episodes. Each time I click on the name of the show it only gives me the option to view the show on its “live channel option”. I’m not able to view past episodes of the 90 Fiancé show. This is very frustrating to me because this is my only reason for signing up for this subscription and now I’m not able to view the material I desire as advertised. My other issue I have with this app is the Bravo channel is not included to watch streaming episodes via the app also. I would have loved to give this review 5 stars if only those issues could possibly be resolved. I won’t be recommending this app to anyone and I am considering canceling my subscription as well if these issues continue to persist. Thank you for your time.

Love to binge!. I’m a teenage girl and my family has had discovery+ for a few years now. As you may know, teenage girls have a lot of hobbies, but one of them is always binging THAT one show that just keeps you entertained for hours. Whatever you might like, whether that be true crime, drama, romance, or horror, discovery+ has it. As a student, I know that discovery plus is a great service for those who enjoy background noise for work (in a good way). To sum it up, discovery+ is definitely the app for me. I also love the great variety in discovery+. It’s unique for me to stream my favorite cooking show, dramatic romance, and true crime all in the same app. The only reason I took a star off is because the app sometimes has trouble keeping up with resuming shows, and might put you on a completely different episode you last stopped at, especially if you use the same account on different devices.

My Experience So Far…. In the short time that I’ve had Discovery+, I’ve had some great experiences. They offer a variety of shows to watch that I would not be able to watch otherwise because they’re the only streaming network providing it. But I do have some issues. If one of my family members watches for example Alaskan Bush People on THEIR account it shows up in MY continue watching even though I’ve never watched the show before. Also, when I pause an episode, I go to unpause it and it skips ahead a few seconds so I always have to rewind like 3 seconds. I understand this is a new streaming app but there’s quite a few bugs that need taken care of… many bugs I didn’t even mention… the ones I mentioned were just the most annoying ones.

iOS 15 and still no PIP. UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 4, 2022 I have only one streaming app that won’t do PIP on my iPad: Discovery+. What a disgrace. UPDATE: APRIL 16, 2022 Still no PIP. I have 7 streaming apps and only one refused to do PIP. This app. Discovery is just playing games. They have no intent to Implement it. UPDATE: I have used this app since it came out still no PIP. Are the developers that incompetent? This is the ONLY stream app I use of the 5 I pay for where this doesn’t work. This is utterly unacceptable. I’m sure they’ll pass it on to the developers. That’s what they tell everyone who complains and nothing changes. Of all the different video/show apps I have, this is the only one that DOESN’T support PIP on my iPad. This wasn’t an oversight since all the others support it, this was intentional. They need to get their act together and add support or I’ll consider dropping them. It’s useless to have an app that doesn’t let me work while I watch shows. The app is useless to me. So sad that their pathetic attempt and egos destroyed such possibilities.

Great content but…. I love true crime so when this app came out I just had to have it. My problem with the app is if I watch an episode on my tv and then want to continue the same episode on my phone or vice versa, the app doesn’t recognize that I’ve already started that episode. If I’m in my profile on one device, my profile should upload and stay the same on any device. I shouldn’t have to “restart” an episode just because I’m on a different device. Having to fast forward and “guess” where I left off is annoying and frustrating. Each device doesn’t recognize that the profile is the same. My recommendations aren’t the same under my same profile. This is something that should be looked at. Every other streaming service can recognize the same settings and profiles, this app should too. It would make it top notch if it did

Great content, glitchy app. I’ve enjoyed the content, lots of variety and interesting programs, however, it’s a super glitchy app. I’ve watched the same commercial break 3 times back to back. As soon as the “ad” break ends, it restarts again. After watching it 3 consecutive times, my program came back on, but after 3-5 minutes of watching it restarts to after the commercial break, 2 breaks back. It’s so frustrating! If I try to rewind or fast forward to correct it to where I need to be, it just messes up even more. Because of all the glitches it takes about double the amount of time to watch a program. This was a problem I had in the past, it frustrated me enough that I canceled for awhile. I came back as I want to catch up on content but I see these glitches just got worse. Hopefully the creators can fix these glitches because this app could be one of the best streaming apps if they could just fix the problems.

Great shows access, but could use minor improvements. I love the shows on here, but it would be better if I could be updated when there’s a new episode of my favorite shows displayed on the app. Right now, I have to scroll through and then click each show only to be disappointed that I didn’t wait long enough for a new episode to appear. It feels like a gamble. But if the show icon could display a little banner that says whether there’s been new episodes added, that would be great. I love a lot of shows, so I’ve saved a lot of shows to my list. So I’ll only realize, several months later, that a show at the bottom of my saved list will have an abundance of missed episodes, because I never made my way to the bottom for the gamble.

Continue Watching list horrible. I like the shows that are offered on Discovery +. What I can’t stand is the way the Continue Watching list works, or I should say, the way it fails miserably. It keeps shows you have finished watching and hides shows you want to watch but haven’t yet. So many apps make it easy to manage this list but apparently the technology is too far advanced for the developers at Discovery + to grasp. If I have to do a search each time to watch the next episode in a series, all the while viewing a cluttered list of previously viewed shows, then I consider the app to be a failure. Come on Discovery, spend a few bucks to get developers that can make a user friendly app. Update: The developer responded and said that if I watch the show to the end it leaves the watch list. Sorry, that absolutely does not work. I even have shows appear again for no reason. I’m sorry developers, but your app is a hot mess. Don’t try to play it off to user error.

Almost perfect. When it comes to quality content, this is probably my favorite streaming app. There are a lot of great programs to watch on here. However, I wish the app would let me turn off autoplay so I don’t fall asleep and wake up 3 seasons later. It also sends me to the next episode before it’s even over. Many of the crime shows I watch have updates at the end and the episode always switches before it shows that. Another thing, when I go to look at episodes, it always sends me back to the top of the page when watching from my Apple TV, which is very annoying. If they were to fix these problems, especially the autoplay issue, I would have this as my main streaming app. I use Netflix when I watch tv in bed, in case I fall asleep, but would much prefer to watch Discovery+ content if I could turn off autoplay.

Terrible With Chromecast. This app is straight trash with Chromecast. It constantly spins, constantly stops. It is the worst. When you contact customer support they are as incompetent as their app. You hear clear your cookies and cache. You hear update the app. Listen, no matter how much I do that, this app on this IPAD using Chromecast doesn’t get any better. I’m tired of having to constantly come out of it. Also, it doesn’t pick up where you left off. It constantly starts the entire show over. I have to constantly remember where I was last and pull it forward that way and again it spins. I have high speed internet so that is not the problem. The problem is this app is trash with Chromecast. Straight trash. Not everyone has the Apple thingy and nor do they want it. Take some time, have some decency and work on the Chromecast part of this app. I’ve been writing this review and the whole time it is spinning. Stuck. This is ridiculous. No other app does this only this app. Straight trash.
