Book Tracker: TBR bookshelf App Description & Overview

What is book tracker: tbr bookshelf app? Book Track is an iPhone, iPad, and Mac app that can track your books — both the ones you own and the ones you hope to own in the future.

Avid readers know how difficult it can be to keep tabs on a growing book collection and that's where Book Track comes into its own by making it quicker and easier than ever to track your reading. Not only can you track all of the books that you own, as well as how far you've read, but you can also keep a wishlist of the books that you'd like to pick up in the future. Whether a book is in your 'Library' or your 'Wishlist,' Book Track displays information and gorgeous cover art for all of them. While Book Track uses information from the internet, more obscure books can also be added manually, too.

Book Track is a free app and is limited to 5 books. A single in-app purchase unlocks support for unlimited books across iPhone and iPad. A separate purchase is required to unlock the full Mac app.

Book Track users can look forward to:

- A synchronized list of books and information — whether you save a book on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, it'll be synced across all devices. Both your Library and Wishlist will be synced seamlessly and automatically so you'll never lose a book again — or buy the same book twice because you forgot you already own it!

- Easy and comprehensive book organization — Every book you add to your Library can be marked as read, reading, or unread, with each book also supporting tags to help you find similar books throughout your collection. Book information like title, author, description, publisher, year of publication, genre, and even the description can also be edited to make your Library as accurate or personal as possible.

- Quote saving — Find a passage within a book that you want to save for later? Book Track can save your favorite quotes in one place so you can read them again later. You can even put them on your Home screen using a widget.

- All the stats, right where you'll see them — Book Track collects library and reading statistics and puts them right on your Home screen with gorgeous widgets. iPad users can enjoy an extra large widget with even more stats, too!

- Support for importing books from services like Goodreads, BookBuddy, Reading List, and more — It's never been easier to import your books from other apps and services so you don't have to start building your library all over again. Book collections can also be exported to PDF and CSV as well.

- Deep integration with iOS and macOS — Book Track includes support for the latest Apple features including Shortcuts and Siri, while Widgets can be used to put your favorite quotes right onto your Home screen.

- Privacy — Book Track doesn't collect any of your personal data and doesn't track you in any way. Books should be fun, not another reason to worry about your data privacy.

Let Us Hide Loaned Out. I love this app. I’ve tried many other book tracking apps, and this one is the best. If you’re looking for an easy way to track your books/reading on all your Apple devices, this is the app. One suggestion: allow users to hide the Loaned Out area in the navigation menu. For instance, I read all my books on a Kindle. I never loan my books out to people. I would love to be able to just hide that option. Thanks for creating such an awesome book tracking app!

It works but not well for a large collection or Goodreads import. Update to four stars, hoping to go to 5! Developer responds quickly and fixed the slow import problem and the last name sort problem. I continue to wish for the ability to do bulk tagging, but the developer moves so quickly I have hopes that he will add this ability soon. I wanted a database with a tagging system into which I could import my large (over 4,000 volumes) collection of books from a CSV file generated by Goodreads. To the good, Book Track can import the Goodreads CSV information, has both a Mac and an iOS version, and supports tags. Unfortunately, it is very slow importing the CSV (so flow, it failed in iOS and took hours on my Mac), is slow adding tags (a noticeable delay for each tag), and does not support tagging multiple entries at one time. And, a deal breaker, does not for some odd reason use Goodread’s Last Name, First name column from the CSV file, and so alphabetizes the collection by first name. I'm reluctantly going back to Excel to handle my collection, despite having to give up on multiple tags for each book.

Tags don’t seem to work well. Was looking for a good book management app and tried a few and liked this one enough to go ahead and pay for it after I seemed to hit a paywall. I have hundreds of books and decided to start with my book club section. I created a tag for my book club books so that I can easily sort them but the tag will not stay on at least half of them which is really frustrating. Hopefully this will be corrected in an update but until then it’s a three star for me.

Useful stats, UI needs a lot of work. This app has a lot of potential. My favorite thing about it is gives stats on daily reading. You just update your place in each book after reading and the app keeps stats on how many pages you read each day. I find this element to be extremely motivating to keeping a reading habit. Most apps will show progress toward a yearly goal, but give little insight on daily progress. This app has some good capabilities in that area. The big problem with the app is the UI design. I find the navigation to be somewhat unbearable as it takes lots of taps to get from one view to another. The data visualizations could use quite a bit of improvement. They use line graphs in a lot of places, where I think bar graphs would be better, for example. Another big miss is not showing progress bars on the view of books currently reading. Overall I think the app has a lot of great functionality that could be a lot more useful with better design.

Book Tracker. I love the Book Tracker app! It is so user friendly! Helps you easily organize your books. I downloaded two other apps when I first wanted to catalog my books. I used all three for at least 20 books each. I immediately deleted the other two apps, as this one was the easiest and most comfortable for me to use!! As a side note….. After a year’s use of this app, I recently ran into a glitch of not being able to enter a book into my library. I emailed the app developers. I quickly received a reply telling me what I needed to do to get back on track. It worked!! Turns out it was my fault in not clearing my cache of open apps! AWESOME app!! 5 stars!! Thank You!!

Great app!. I really like the app overall. I can save all my books track my reading and stats and it’s aesthetically pleasing. The only thing I wish I could do is go back and change the pages I’ve read on certain days. I never remember to log my pages until the next day and so it looks like I’ve read more that day than I actually have. I would say that’s the only thing I wish was different.

Bit of a learning curve, but really solid 👍. Can't find my previous review to edit/add to it, but I've been consistently using this app for several months now. It's taken me a while to get the hang of it, but now that I understand it better it's one of my must-have apps, for sure. I agree with a lot of the suggestions in the other reviews (I would also love the ability to default to e-books for new additions). It would also be /incredibly/ useful to have an option to track books I've borrowed, either from the library or from a friend. Sometimes I want to track that I've read a book, but also the fact that I don't personally own it. I love being able to track books I've loaned out, so tracking the other way too would be a game-changer.

Smooth sailing with a rather minor issue. Right off the bat I just like to say that this app is a dream for bibliophiles and avid readers alike. Every single feature is practical and really is the thing you need to organize your reading progress and library collection. *Issue solved by restarting the phone. 5 starred. What a godsent app 🙌 (My only issue is...and I’m sure that the majority of users aren’t really bothered by it, is the app icon didn’t changed in the homescreen after I selected the one I prefer in the app’s settings. I’d love to go all black icons, and with the app providing the option to do so, I would love to see it realized. Thanks for the great app! What a purchase. I look forward to this minor fix.)

Solid app - question for developer. I have this app to keep track of my child’s (age 9) books. It’s been useful for them to see how many they’ve read, the topic overlap, etc. —> While I love the ease of sign-in, I can only see their library on their iPad. I would love an option so I can have their account on my device (iPhone) as well, so when we visit the library or a bookstore, I can know what they have and what’s on their wishlist to make better decisions. Is there a way to add a sign-on via a different account so their iPad generated list can appear on other devices? Thanks!

Excellent app. Simple, practical, and focused.. I love this app because of its simplicity. EVERY feature is useful for me. I never waste time diddling with the functions, unlike other reading apps (which are just way too complicated and aggravating). Also, I love that nearly all the services are customizable! I can open this app without wasting time, and I really like the user-friendly design. Goodreads and other reading apps are just too complicated—they are like reading social media accounts. Rebecca

Loving it. Just started using it and it’s quite simple and nice to use. I would love to have an upload option. Where we can upload the picture of the book cover and can be sent to you guys to review and add. I noticed a lot of books don’t have an actual cover. Or even an option to personalize the book cover so we can use our own pictures of the books to use. I just like seeing the right pretty covers on my list is all. Yet again everything else so far is amazing! Definitely recommend!

Great but needs some improvements. I really like this app! I love how I can sort my books by series and the statistics page is really helpful! However, I do have a few things I don’t like about it. I would like to have the option to list authors by their first name instead of last name. Also when you add a photo to a book it would be easier if the photo automatically resized to the necessary size instead of having me manually do it. It wasn’t easy to align and I think I cropped out part of the photo. Also, editing the book summary was difficult. It kept automatically taking me to the end of the summary even though I wanted to edit the beginning. Eventually I just deleted the whole thing and rewrote it. I still really like the app though and I hope these problems can be fixed!

Different formats of books. I just downloaded this app yesterday and so far it seems to provide everything I need in order to keep track of my books. Except one thing. Sometimes I purchase books for my Kindle and then end up enjoying them so much, I end up purchasing the actual physical book itself. I would like to be able to keep track of those books I have in electronic format as well as physical copies. I am only able to choose one or the other. I don’t want to have to put the book in twice if I own both formats. I’d like to be able to choose both on one book description. Other than that, this is a good app. And I especially like the fact that it is transferable over all my Apple devices.

Why is BookTrack awesome!. I really feel that this is a great app for book lovers and that’s why I’m leaving a review. I love that you’re able to track the amount of books read by month and by year. It would be amazing if the app would also track purchases as well, by month and by year, that would make the app much more detailed in how book lovers can read their books whenever they have a lot and read them in order. Thank you so much for the app and I appreciate the innovation.

worth every penny (and then some). if you're an avid reader, you've probably poked at all of the reading apps out there. book tracker strikes a great balance of tracking your reading, keeping track of what's on your wishlist and has the "while you're reading" features that you really want. (OCR scanning quotes, etc.). the tracking widgets are spot on. the author has been very responsive to feedback and the constant iteration shows. the polish just keeps getting better and better. one of the best apps i've bought over the past couple of years.

OMG!. I’m an avid book reader, and keeping track of my lists was getting so complex. The fact that this app exists is a lifesaver! And it’s so user-friendly and well organized! I just downloaded about an hour ago, and added all my data in, and I’m already living it so much. Definitely will be recommending to friends and family. This is such a useful app (and CHEAP- one time payment for premium- compared to other similar apps!) Couldn’t have dreamed of a better app.🩷

Essential flaws. I really enjoy this app! And on day one already recommending it to a friend 🙂 It helps me keep track of books I already own. Which makes shopping in the stores easier for me lol. However, I spent the whole night scanning all the books I have (which convinced me to buy the pro version) and started marking which books I finished, gave them ratings, added a bunch of tags, and even wrote comments to myself. However, I’m noticing that after I finishing the rating I’ll go back to the library section and see the ratings just fine. And then I’ll do the next book rating & then when I go back to the library the ratings I completed are gone. I’ve redone the ratings on books a couple of times already and it keep disappearing. It’s very annoying. There’s no update pending on this app so I’m guessing there’s a flaw somewhere on the developer’s side. Hopefully it gets fixed soon! —-oh and just a recommendation that could be fun…if we had the option to invite ppl to see our library/ratings.

Does the job. I’ve had this app for a few weeks now. There are a lot of things I like about it, but some issues I’m finding also. When I scan the barcodes, it does not always bring up the cover of the book or even the correct book. Sometimes it is a picture of a page inside the book or no cover at all even when the book has been out for a long time. You can take a picture of the cover to correct this issue, but it is annoying! Also, there is no option for adding hardcover versions. You can only add paperback, audiobook or digital. Many of my books are hardcover. I want to be able to distinguish my hardcover from paperback so I don’t buy a version I already have.

WINNER. I downloaded at least 15 book tracker apps in search of the best one. This is it for sure. I love the layout. It is very Applesque. Simple and clean, but detailed where it matters. You can make your library layout look all different ways. The book details have a great deal of info and places for personal notes. The best part however is the search function actually works and is useful. I know I know that seems like it should be a given, but a lot of the other apps would search library titles only and not the book descriptions, tags, and notes. This makes it impossible to find anything. This app searches it all! I really love it guys. My one and only suggestion is that you please add somewhere to track audiobook lengths and a statistic chart for hours listened. I do almost all audiobooks these days and I would love to track the time I spend listening. Thanks!!

Love love love. Been looking for a book tracker to keep track of what I’ve read so I can make recommendations to friends. It’s so organized, plenty of room for notes, quotes, and tags. I wish there was a better way to track audiobooks and hours listened but not really a deterrent for me. One other thing is I wish it was synced to my phone as I usually use my iPad but I don’t always have it with me. Maybe there is a way and I just haven’t found it! But those are things that would make this app 5/5 stars :)

Updates. LOVE LOVE LOVE this app! Perfect for tracking your reading and everything related to it. There’s just one thing I would change about it if possible, I would add a friends feature so you could have friendly competitions with them and teach which books others are reading, or I could share books with friends and family that way. Overall 10/10 app but I would love to see this feature added

The quotes section sold me!. Love this app! I feel like I’ve tried all of the book tracker apps and this one allows you the most use in its free state and has such amazing potential to replace them all!! Pretty simplistic but not boring and the home page is customizable. My favorite part is the quotes tab! It can be set as a widget to your devices home screen that displays a random quote you added and it brings back all my favorite memories from books without rereading them. I WOULD like to see more features added one day though… a customizable stats page (not super into bar graphs and numbers. I’d like to choose the stats I want to view and how I view them. An example would be if I wanted to see all the different genres/categories I’ve read this year but in pie graph/percentage style bc I’m super visual). I also reeeeallllly want to see a “book club” tab where you could possibly add friends so they can see selective info or to view recommended books. And after tracking my first audiobook: an option to add hours, minutes, and seconds instead of JUST minutes. I didn’t use it bc I didn’t want to do the math each time. Those edits would for sure eliminate all other book apps I currently have for those purposes. All in all I highly recommend the app and can’t wait to see what they have in store for the future!

Removes data. After scanning and adding well over 70 books I was disappointed to see all of my library and wish list removed one day. Very frustrating when you use the app to keep track of books you’re looking for. Additionally, I’ve had issues when saving how many pages I read a day. If you hit “read,” which is really easy to accidentally do, it removes all progress you’ve made on the book. Want to see how many pages you read a day? Too bad, one misclick ruins all of that. It’s a good start but need a lot of work and doesn’t seem to have that being added. Better off sticking to your notes app for wish lists and read books.

I seriously love this app!. I was just adding books to my library and sorting by author and the interface was so seamless and the information so well presented. The data is clear and the dashboards are also great. I was so impressed with my experience using this app over the last year I did the unusual. I wrote a review. The only thing missing that would make this perfect is if my highlights dynamically pulled into the quotes section rather than having to manually copy and paste. Otherwise it’s really close to a perfect tracker.

Almost Perfect. This app is almost perfect. Easy to use. Easy to track by author, series, loans, tabs, genre etc. The only improvement I would make is to be able to track narrators for those who listen to audiobooks. I both read and listen and have preferences for certain audiobook narrators, as do a lot of listeners. I do add narrators and listening length into the notes but would like to be able to look up books by the narrator. Then the app would be perfect

major potential. I was under the impression if I didn't like the app after I purchased the pro version that I could just easily click the button and get my money back, but I didn't, I had to reach out to the App Store myself. For some reason I am under a lot of stress to find a good book app to keep track of my books and I spent like three hours on this app trying to figure out a way to make it so the books I read in a specific year were right. I found it weird that you couldn't change the year that it was read in and it really irritated me that you couldn't put it in the right month or year. It's really frustrating and for six dollars I kind of expected more. However I think that this app has major potential.

Love it, Love it, Love it. I’ve been looking around for a home library app, and finally landed on this one. The interface is easy to use, and it has bull scanning capabilities. I like that it auto categorizes your books and you can also use your own tags. You also can state where in your house the book is (which is great for people like me who have 7 or 8 places that books live and forget where one was). The developers are really responsive. I submitted a bug report and within a few days, they fixed the issue. A couple things I dislike are that the categories and authors get cluttered very easily but that’s admittedly part of the issue of having hundreds of books. I also have noticed sometimes the incorrect cover is displayed but that is easily fixed manually. I love this app and will be recommending it to my bookworm friends.

Really good. This app is really good. A few tweaks though I don’t know how books get added but books that are new releases aren’t in the app yet under search. I was reading a few books that were released within the last few months and I had to add them myself Books that I added from Goodreads didn’t have covers showing so I had to edit to add the cover There should be a way to change book type so default is what you want as the app user. I exclusively read e-books and would like to have the default be digital and not paperback I would also like to be able to delete some tags in the options when uploading a book. Ones that I don’t use but others might. Like tags or series or the ISBN codes

Honestly amazing. I really love this app and it’s 100% worth the price. (I think I paid like $1.99 one time for full access?) Literally the best book tracking app I’ve ever used. There’s a section for read, reading, borrowed, and wish list. You can add tags, save quotes, scan barcodes, and a bunch of other stuff. Plus when I needed help with something I got a response within a day. Also not sponsored or anything I just genuinely love this app lol

Great App - Broken Update?. There are a lot of really great aspects of this app, but one the most frustrating aspects is that it sometimes fails to save my personal comments (the main reason for using the app is to remember if I liked the author or series in the past). Since last week’s update it fails 90% of the time to save anything other adding it to my library. Because I read several books a week, It is too tedious or I can’t remember the books clearly, if I get behind.

Preferred book tracking app!!. I’ve tried Goodreads and Story Graph for book tracking and prefer this app hands down to those! It has a clean, sleek, easy to use interface, and provides just about any feature you’d want in a book tracking app. The only things missing for me are the ability to re-read a book and the ability to differentiate a book you own from one you borrowed from a library, friend, family, etc., however, the developer (very responsive) indicated that these or similar features will be included in the future. They’ve done an amazing job with this app and I look forward to seeing grow and add features. I highly recommend!

Great Update, but. I really like this update. I was using my wish list to store all of my home library books so I had a count and now I don’t! Also love the addition of the hardcover option. But could you please restore the advanced sort option? I have my library sorted by series but the books are no longer in order because I can’t sort by series, publish date. Everything is out of order and it’s driving me nuts. Also the advanced search when you added a new book was so helpful since you could search by title and author, that is also gone.

Came for the Privacy; Stayed for the App. I have been needing an alternative to GoodReads for a while because I have concerns over Amazon’s privacy practices. I initially chose this app because it doesn’t collect any data or sell any data, but after downloading it, I was blown away by how much better of an experience this app is. The developer clearly cares about delivering a quality experience, and you can see it in every interaction with the interface. Brava!

Great App. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I wish the widget would allow for more than one book. When I first got it did go back and forth between the two books I was reading and would pop up with the most recent one I marked my progress in, but now it only allows for one book. Other than that it is fantastic! I love being to see all my books and being able to add so much information about each one!

Great Start. I’ve been on the hunt for a good book tracking app since giving up on the nonsense that is Goodreads. This one is quite close to perfect. I would like the way to add a persistent, custom sort to books in a series. If there is one, I haven’t found it. This way I could add a bunch of books in a series and their reading order, so when I finish up one book I have a quick reference to which book comes next. Another, less crucial feature I’d like to see - a way to manually type in the current page number and/or percentage read. The +/- buttons are cute but not practical, especially for very lengthy books.

Exactly what I was looking for. I downloaded 4 different apps to track my reading and stuck with this one because it had all the features I wanted and so far has worked flawlessly. Pros in my eyes: great looking display of your ‘library’ and a way to filter, sort, etc; Statistics to track my reading with the same library interface; Ability to record which format you read the book in, to mark complete dates, and to add your own notes/quotes. The look of the Home Screen is just ok, but I’m happy with all the features and really like the customizable library interface. Maybe I’m just missing it, but I don’t think you can give a book your own rating, unless you put it in the notes. Not a big deal to me, but kind of surprising.

Only 10 Books?!. I understand that people that create apps have to make their income somewhere, but the fact that you can only scan 10 books before your hit with a paywall is a bit extreme. That fact wasn’t even mentioned at the beginning. You simply get a pop-up that says hey, do you wanna pay these two people that made the app some money? It doesn’t specify that you have to or you won’t be able to use the app beyond 10 books. I’m not sure about you all but I don’t think I know anyone that reads and only has 10 books. Outside of the extreme limitation, I do enjoy the interface. Once you figure out the mechanics of entering the books and the reading times, it’s a very solid app. I don’t mind spending the money to have full and unlimited use. Hopefully it stays this way and doesn’t certainly changed to a pay per month subscription. That would drive me back to keeping track with pen and paper.

I love this app. I love this app. It has made my life so much easier. Normally I just have 100s of pictures in my phone of book covers as my list of books to read. Having everything in one place is great! I do wish that there was a section or tab for TBR that I could put the books I specifically have picked out to read for the current month. But that’s not really a big deal as I have them all set out on my shelf, or in my library on audible and or kindle. I’ve already recommend this app to a few friends who also love it! If I could give 100 stars I would.

Blows Away All Competition. 6-5 Edit: The creators of this app are so nice and responsive! They truly want to make the best app possible and really take their users feedback into account, which is one of the most important things to me when it comes to apps. If I could rate this higher I would! I am so happy I could cry! I am a huge book nerd and this latest update has made my year! All of the things on my wish list I had emailed about in the past, and ones I just silently hoped for, seem to be in this update (being able to log minutes listened for audiobooks, hardcover vs paperback, multiple editions of the same book, not having to specify which shelf). I recently got into the world of special editions (for modern books not just classics) and this makes things so much easier. I love when developers listen to their users! I will recommend this app to everyone - it’s hands down the best!

Always adding great features. I have been trying to find a perfect book log app for over a decade, and this app has given me most anything I could ask for - and when I feel there’s something missing, the developer is always responsive (usually on Reddit). I have physical books, signed books, Kindle books, and iBooks, and this makes it easy to track where each of my books are (including within my home), as well as other tags or categories. It takes a few steps, but you can also import your GoodReads list to this app. It is a great app and I talk about it with all my friends. I’ve had it for 6 months, now.

Clean design & easy to use. The layout is clean and doesn’t overwhelm me. I have tried several book tracking apps but they overwhelm me with graphs and too much info to imput and/or they were ugly. I like that the organization in this app can be as detailed as you want without it being visually/mentally overwhelming. I think it’s nice that it has a section to log if you have loaned out a book so you can remember to check back with the person at some point. Something that isn’t really a necessity but would be nice is if there was a setting to choose the default way we read. I almost always read audiobooks so it would be nice to set that as the default format when selecting a book. EDIT: I am trying to add locations to all my books. But the selection options I made for the location, bookcase, shelf sections almost never show up. I have to re-type them every time I want to add a location to a new book. Since my books are all audiobooks, I chose to type the location as the setting of the book (e.g. medieval France), the bookcase as the app I have access to the book (e.g. Scribd), and the shelf is for the type of access I need for the book (e.g. free with sub). It’s not really a huge deal day-to-day, but I am trying to backlog 50 books so the increased effort is noticed.

Great app just wish it had a couple more options. I’m loving the app so far but there are two features that would make it perfect for me. The first is a section on the home page that would allow you to scroll through every series that you have created. Currently the series tab on the home page is limited to 9 that can be selected. I wish there was a series tab similar to library or wishlists that would just take you to all your series. Or at least a show more that expanded the current series tab. Secondly I want there to be a custom order for the books within different series. I’m having trouble trying to put books in my desired reading order other than order by insertion but requires me to be perfect when creating a new tab. However if there’s a prequel to a series I want to add I would have to completely delete the series and create it again to place every book in my desired order. So a feature within the series editing tools that allows me to order the books manually and customizable would be fantastic. Other than that great app I love the challenges and stats features (half the reason I downloaded the app) but wish I could organize and find different series easier.

Don’t like the new update. I have been using this services along side Goodreads and I liked this service because I could create tags and series. Now with the new update the filters are messed up and I don’t like the format of the filters. I like the way they used to be. It was easier and not as complicated. Now I can’t filter by series and reading status when I export. So I can separate what’s still needs to be read and tell apart what’s a series and what’s not. I really liked the app and I paid for it and used hours to to create the series. But if the one feature that I want isn’t working correctly then I might just have to part with it. I have connected support but it hasn’t been much help in resolving the issue.

I love this app I just have one suggestion!!!. I absolutely love this app. As soon as I started using it, I wanted to switch all my book/reading tracking so I instantly bought the premium version. Currently going through the process of brining everything over from my other apps (goodreads/StoryGraph) but I had one quick question. Im making locations for multiple different collections. I have multiple shelves thst have different genres and types of books fiction/creative nonfiction/memoir/poetry/spirituality/information/philosophy/politics/etc and i want to make sure everything is in the right spot. Whenever I tap the ‘+’ when I am in the tab for a specific location to add a book to this specific location, I add the book but then I see that it was just added to my general library and then I have to manually go in and move that book to that location. I think thst if I open up a location and add a book entry from inside that location, that that book should automatically go into that location. It would be really helpful with adding stuff so I don’t have to then find the entry and manually add a specific location status after the fact!! I know this is so small of a thing but it would be really cool and I also see that there seems to be developers of this app who are really dedicated to making it better and that’s part of the reason I really want to support it!

Very easy to use. I could easily add all the books in the library by scanning the barcode. It uses Google book library to search books so it was able to find the most of the books I have. Some very old books and non-English books were not found which was expected. It is easy to add the book by searching it as well. I like the fact that you can keep books in the Libra dictionary on your wish list in separate lists. Adding covers manually is also easy. Overall interface is very easy to use. This is an excellent alternative to goodreads for tracking the books.

Great app and responsive developer!. This is seriously the best designed book tracking app I’ve used. It already has basically everything I’m looking for in a book tracker in an great looking package! Even better, the developer seems committed to updating the app with new features, and was responsive to feedback that I emailed him. Looking forward to seeing this app grow in both user base and features moving forward!

Public Library Entires please. I’ll preface this review by saying the app does everything it advertises and I mostly wanted this to keep track of my physical library of books, tagging which I could borrow to friends and which are stuck on my kindle. Tags were a nice solution to distinguish which were ebooks and which I could loan out. (I also tend to forget if they were from a Scribd subscription or the local library so that helped facilitate that need as well) I love that I can update my reading progress without spamming all my friends on goodreads. I don’t even use a bookmark anymore bc I have the page on the app and the instant gratification of progress shown at my finger tips. I’m hopeful this app will continue to get patches and maybe get an update for an Apple Watch feature where I can update the page number on my currently reading.

The app does not import your Apple Books. There is no way to import my Apple Books into the tracker. I have a large library and I’m not going to manually enter them. Huge miss. The ability to select all would be helpful. When importing from Goodreads, you should be able to determine if the book is there in a series already without having to manually add it. Long press should be able to add a category. Standard categories should already be in here, such as science fiction, fiction, art, history, et cetera Duplicate detection for books that you’ve imported would be a good feature I do enjoy the scan feature!

It’s okay, but a bit cumbersome to use. I think it’s a great start for a small indie app. That said, the actual user experience leaves much to be desired, especially in the way you have to back in and out of a screen multiple times to make edits. As an example, adding a location is quite cumbersome. There are three tiers: the location, the room, and the shelf. To edit, each of the three moves to its own page from which you have to back out to go to the next section and so on. It was so much work, I opted not to use that feature at all. Another big issue for me was how older reads are recorded. First of all, the date UI is a mess. If I change the start date first, then once I change the finish date, the start date reverts to the same date as the finish date. Secondly, if you don’t actually remember the dates read for a book you scan, it just records it as you reading all those pages on the day you scan. I couldn’t see a way to not record a date, which is very bothersome for me. Still, it is not without redemption. I appreciate that you can edit nearly every detail, including the photo. I also like the tag feature and the multiple views on your main shelf. I haven’t gotten to use this feature yet, but the place to record if a book is loaned out is a main reason I wanted a library app. Even though I bought the paid version, the app needs a bit more thought into the UI before I see myself using it. I’ll probably just stick with StoryGraph and Goodreads.

YES!!!. This is the book tracking app that I have been wanting. I would easily give this more than five stars if I could! I have been a Goodreads user for YEARS, but got frustrated on multiple fronts…and this app solves all of that. Tracking number of pages read per day? Check. Customizable tags for books? Check. User interface that is clean and easy to navigate? Check. Add quotes and be able to search quotes either in a book or all quotes entered? Check. Seamless sync on iCloud across all devices? Check. User privacy in mind? Check. I have tried two other book tracking apps over the last year that have some of these features. But the user interface is clunky and they do not have all the features I have been looking for. I do hope the developer builds out some of the statistics [like showing number of pages read in a month and year]. With that, the developer has been super responsive to my email inquiries. Please, do yourself a favor, buy this app, both the iOS and macOS versions. You will not be disappointed.

Great!. This app has really gotten me back into reading! Excellent work, and the new updates are really exciting!

The best app for book collections. A simple barcode scan and all data is pulled down from the internet into a robust database. I have nearly 1,000 books loaded and tracked across all of my IOS devices seamlessly.

No Sync. between devices. Only able to load 5 books to evaluate the app and having purchase twice to be able sync between iPhone, iPad and mac a total of $37.98.

Suggestion to make even better. This app is amazing and really helps me to keep track of my reading progress and motivates me to read more… I would like to see an option where we can re-read books and have the progress the second time around and count as another book as technically it was another book read But other than that I absolutely love!! You should download this app

Great. App is great and easy to use

Great way to track books. Excellent app, would highly recommend for tracking books you’re reading, your wish list and what your completed.

Do not get if you aren’t willing to pay. I recently got this app and I was adding books to my library that I have read in the past and that I am reading now. I added 5 books to my online library and now it won’t let me add anything else unless I buy premium. Overall if you don’t want to pay and you want a book tracker that actually works, look somewhere else.

Use All the Time. Hi devs, thanks for the app - super useful and love all the bits and pieces you’ve added! Use it all the time for my 500+ book library. A few things: my iCloud data has recently stopped syncing across devices in recent updates (iPhone with iPad and Mac) and doesn’t seem to be my iCloud settings, would this be able to be checked as a bug? Also, I loved having the OCR option for book descriptions, are you able to bring that back? Thanks!

Pretty good but could be better. Would be great if you could photo books that don’t come up in the search or can add you own photo to listings. Would also be really good to be alerted when you have a double up of a book

The Perfect Book App. This app is absolutely wonderful. Great for book progress tracking and keeping track of what books I have. It has stopped me from repeat buying so many times! The people behind the scenes are lovely and are great at communication and happy to hear ideas. Just a really fantastic app with wonderful people making it all happen. 10/10

Fantastic app, and a few ideas. Firstly, thanks for making this fantastic app, just what I need to keep track of my library and current reads! And much thanks for being privacy respecting! I also have a few suggestions that would make it a 5-star app! 1- it’d be great to see the number of books included in a tag on the main screen, like next to each tag name 2- being able to easily (and visibly) mark a book as physical, eBook or audiobook would be very useful 3- within each tag, if there was an option for subheadings to separate ‘books in your library’ from ‘books in your wish list’ that would again be so useful!

Amazing!!. Really enjoyed switching over to a new book tracker from Goodreads! Love all the statistic settings. However, would love being able to put a star rating for books after finishing them! Apart from that, loving it

The app I’ve been waiting for. With a large, chaotic book collection, I’ve been waiting for an app like this, kudos to the creator. Knocked one star off though because sorting by author goes by the first name. It would also be nice to have a facility for locating duplicates easily.

Fantastic App for tracker books. This is a fantastic app for tracking books (both currently reading/have and future books on my wish-list). Can’t recommend enough, especially for all us book worms!

Just some ideas.. I really love this app. However I wish I could sort my library by author especially when I start adding so many books it makes it so much easier to find the book I am looking for on the app. I also really love the widget that it comes with, it’s super handy

Love this app but…. I actually really like this app compared to the many other book tracking apps. But there are minor details that could be added to make this app so much better. Such as, a stopwatch to track how long you’ve been reading for. This will be so much easier to set goals and reach them quicker. Also an estimated completion time so that I can see roughly how long this book may take me to read. Another additional feature you could add is a random book selecting feature, because, I think speaking for a lot of people, I always struggle on what book to read next. But overall a great app and so easy to use.

Would love a re-read tracker. I seriously love this app, it’s let me see exactly how many books I own, though I do wish that it had a way to mark down when you re-read a book, and to track how many times you have re-read a book. I also kind of wish it had a way to mark down if the book is in physical, electric, or audio format, those little things would have me giving this app a 5 star rating so quickly. Because it’s a seriously good app!

lost progress. I like the app, but it’s unusable. I keep losing my data despite it being connected to icloud, I’ve entered my books at least 3 times over which has taken a lot of time, but then I close the app and reopen it and it’s gone. There’s no save button so I know it’s not a me thing… I had high hopes.

Only missing one thing…. Love the way this app works on my iPad. However I really am upset with the fact that you can’t share it across multiple devices. As I don’t always travel with my iPad I’d have to re-add everything to my iPhone which is pain ☹️

J’adore l’application 🩷. Seul petit point c’est que quand j’ai terminer un livre j’arrive a mettre la date de debut de la lecture mais pas la date de fin de ma lecture

Obsessed. I don't know how I came across this app but I absolutely love it! I use it everyday. Everyone always goes on about good reads, but I was never a huge fan of good reads but this app I can get enough of! I am normally a paper and pen kind of person, usually using book journals. Since finding thus app I have stoped using them too. I rave about it to everyone, now I don't know what i would do with out it

Very disappointed. I bought it from my iPad and saw later that there is no iCloud synchronization with my Mac. I have to buy the Mac application for 13$ if I really want my library on all my devices. The synchronization is done with my iPhone but not on my Mac. I’m very disappointed. I cannot choose more than one author at the same time so it’s useless. The application does not respect the alphabetical order by authors and date of publication.

Have to pay. You can only get seven doors without paying not worth it

J’aime l’app mais…. On devrait etre en mesure de modifier les statistiques selon nos préférences exemple 7 ou 30 derniers jours de lecture et ajouter plus de defi de lectures

Amazing! Just one thing to make it better!. Awesome app, I was wondering if it was possible to add an alphabet slider on the side of the library, so it’s faster to get to all your S books or something.

Exactly what I was looking for. Just downloaded the app and paid for it right away because it has exactly the organizational structures I want. My only issue is that there doesn’t seem to be any way to edit or delete locations.

Simple and powerful app. Simple enough for the casual user and powerful enough for the power user. Ability to import and export your data and Shortcuts support. Great app, five stars.

I don’t write a lot of reviews but….. This is a solid app so far. Loving the ease of the app and the available widgets. Very clean dna easy to use and a great way to track books you’ve read and books you want to read. Loving it so far!

WoW.

Lost all my list!!. Not reliable!

Amazing!. This app has improved my reading life significantly! I’m amazed at all the functions and options. Perfection!

Love it!. I love how easy the app is to use in comparison to Good reads and things like that. The only thing is I wish I could add a reading goal!

Love it. Love this app! But I wish there was a way to add a book number in series

perfect app for what i needed!!. the widget is what drew me to this app and supporting an indie developer is what justified paying for it!! this app was exactly what i needed, is extremely functional and consistently being updated. the only thing i could ask for is having more options for widgets (the default red background colour really clashes with my theme and i’d love a more muted white or darker tone) but that’s literally the smallest of things and i don’t regret my purchase at all. if you were on the fence about paying for it i highly recommend skipping your next morning coffee and getting this instead :)

Lost My Library. I really liked this app and used it quite frequently. It should be addressed, however, I recently randomly lost my entire catalogue of saved books, progress, and notes/quotes. Kind of annoying and inconvenient seeing as it was time consuming creating that catalogue. As a user I would not consider paying for a pro version. I’ve deleted the app at the moment because of this and hope to find another more reliable book tracking app.

I love it!. Simple, appropriate size, short learning curve, excellent tech support from the creator. What more needs to be said? WELL DONE!

Very good, I just need a little bit more. This is a very good book collection app and I would recommend it. I would like to switch to this one, but will be sticking with another. For my book collection, I need to have a field for “Language” and for “Illustrator” and this is leaking. If it was added, I will switch and rate 5-Stars.

5 books and then you pay?. You only get to add to up 5 books before you need to put for premium which seems a little ridiculous. The app is a bit of a mess and confusing to look at, needs to be toned down a little and give us a little more wiggle room until you start shoving the premium version down our throats

Good tool. Scanning is inaccurate. I’ve added a bunch of books manually, the barcode scanning does not seem to correctly identify many books.

Great App - exactly what I was looking for!. Great App - exactly what I was looking for!

Easy to use and great options. Chose this app because of the privacy it offered but fell in love with it because of the options it offers. I love that I can add notes, keep track of quotes and even a field to enter when it is loaned. After using it for a few days I upgraded to Pro as I envisage myself using this app for many years to come.

Great for book lovers. This app does everything I want it to. I’m able to classify books I own in any format (physical, ebook, audiobook), track my progress and annual reading statistics. The app is very clean and has a simple UI. It even has a nice feature to track if I loaned a physical copy to a friend. Worth the price!

Great easy app. I really wanted an app that was easy to put my library in to keep track of the books I have. This one was easy and fast to input 100+ books right after downloading. I do wish you could share your “wish list” though.

Please add a to-read queue!. It would be awesome to have a to-read queue so I can order which books I want to read next… otherwise this is an awesome app, a great alternative from Goodreads for cataloguing my personal library, both physical and digital. Thank you!!

Privacy Focused Tracker. This app is a great way to keep track of what you’re reading, without having to publish it for the world to see. The book database finds almost everything I’ve thrown at it, and there’s lots of different ways to arrange things to suit your needs.

Can’t figure this out. I cannot for the life of me figure this out. I cannot move a book to my current reading list. I added three books but there is no way to move them to current reading - they’re just in my library. I cannot change the book type when I’m adding a book but have to save the default “paperback” and then after saving go and change it. There is no timer and to indicate that you read for a particular period of time; you have to go deep into the app and make a goal and then indicate if you met the goal. I don’t understand why it has such high ratings.

OBSESSED. i usually never spend money on apps, but after you using my first five free books. i just KNEW the $9.99 would be worth it, and it is!! this app literally has every book related thing i could want. If your debating on whether or not you should get this app, YOU SHOULD!!!!🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Must have app for bibliophiles.. I love this app and it’s on one of my most used apps. As I have a nice personal library and it’s a nice to keep my books categorized. I do own books that are first editions that cannot be found using the search online feature. There has to another method of finding these book types through the app. If this tiny feature gets better at searching this app will be phenomenal.

Good app. I just downloaded it and I like the look and feel of it. I think a really good update would be able to have push notifications on certain days that you want to read and the time. Then when you go to read, in app it has a timer and then you can add in how many pages you’ve read.

Nearly perfect.. This app is almost exactly what I have been dreaming of for years. It has Apple’s Design language. It is fast. It now allows for recording quotes and the loaning option is fantastic. There are just a couple things I would want to see and then it would be the perfect book app: 1. Track progress (more than just start and end date). I would love to see how my progress is on the book when entering the pages I have read each day. 2. When recording a quote I would love the ability to add the page number of said quote. This app is fantastic and I hope to see it become even better.

Neat. Easy to use, no data tracking. I have horrible memory so being able to just track the books I’ve read and what I thought about them is helpful and I can still share my thoughts with my friends. A way to have a social aspect might be nice but not a downside necessarily!

Love this app. This app is so so good. It's easy to use and has a very nice layout and categorizing options.. If I could change one thing it would be the tracker for audio books being in hours and minutes rather than just minutes.

Useless. I think a trial over having to add five books is better. But I guess that is how they get you. I added some books manually to see what it was like. I did not really get a feel since how much can you really tell with five books. So I purchased the darn thing and then tried to import my csv file and it keeps giving me an error of not being a csv file. Umm, okay. So now I am out $4.99 and still have no app to track my books. Update: I finally got somewhat of a csv file to import. The import pop up says 202 success. Well, I go to the library and only 71 books are there. So where are the other 131 books?

No Way to Share a Library with a Family. This needs to be login based in addition to the automatic iCloud syncing. This way, you could have a library shared by a family, in which different people share the same books, but also have their own personal books. This will also allow for the same library on different devices with different Apple IDs.

Appreciate the fix 👍🏻. UPDATE: thanks for the option to hide audio books. Appreciate it. Back to five stars! … I just found this app last month and thought it was perfect. I purchased and left a five star review. Now there’s a new version that clutters my screen with audiobook stats and minutes listened. (I’m autistic and cannot process audio well and would never ever use this.) What a waste.

Great App for readers. Love this as a great way to organize and catalog books on IOS and MacOS. The labeling system is fantastic and the new quote widget is my favorite! Would love to see a large version of the quote widget and the ability to set it to change quotes from a collection of books. Would also love to be able to tap and fill in the completion rate instead of using the + and - signs. All and all just a really fantastic app. Can’t wait to see where it goes next!

Only 5 books can be added with free version, lol. Quite aesthetic, very apple-like. Did like the tags and quotes section. However, cumbersome app… so may clicks to get a simple task of adding past read dates. Not a smooth experience. With only 5 books to add with free version (is this even for readers, lol) hard to know if i’d like to invest time into getting to know the app more. Wonder why not just make some features premium or give a better trial experience. Sad. i’ll stick with storygraph + goodreads :)

Great App. I love this app! I love how it keeps track of my full library as well as keeping a wishlist. I use it every time I go to the bookstore so I don’t buy the same book twice. I love the ease of access and straight forward design of the app. I recommend it to all my book loving friends!

Go back to the old Barcode Scanner. I would give this app 5 starts in my sleep if it weren’t for the new update with the new book barcode scanner. The old version’s scanner was much more user friendly and easier to scan books…the new version is basically unusable. I’ve had to type the ISBN numbers in instead of using the scanner. OTHERWISE, this app has been invaluable in helping me heel track of my current library, my wish list, and track my reading. Excellent work.

What in the world. This app makes no sense at all. In no way is it intuitive. Everything is hidden and simple things like tracking your reading minutes requires too many extra steps. Why not let me select a book from my library then start the clock? They mean well but need a lot of help with the interface and the experience. It should be way more simple than it actually is.

A great way to keep your library handy!. Just started using this app and love how easy it is to add my books into it! Lots of options to customize and track your reading habits which is nice. I just wish I could mark a book as read without it being marked as in my library since I sometimes sell/donate books I didn’t love after I read them.

Stupendous update. The recent addition of multiple reading states to enable granular re-read tracking is absolutely top-notch, far exceeding my expectations for what had been a long-awaited feature. The rest of the app remains a joy to use, fully embracing and epitomizing the power, simplicity, and striking visual clarity of a native app. Altogether, a paradigmatic example of iOS design and functionality.

Best book tracker. I adore this app it’s way better than good reads that app is just aesthetically pleasing and allows you to customize the layout of your library. I love how I can add goals and track your progress with individual books. You can also switch the app icon on your Home Screen which I also thought was neat. You can also save quotes and log if you have loaned a book out to a friend which is cool.

Awesome. I really like all the stats this book tracker app provides. I also had a minor issue with back tracking my daily reading habit and was able to get a timely reply from the support team on a Saturday no less! Keep up the great work guys!

Great for book tracking. I download a few other apps and liked this one the best for logging the books in my library. However, in future updates I would like to see the amount of books I’ve read out of the ones i own. It would also be nice to see statistics of genres I’ve read through the year. Overall a very nice app

Brilliant. I’ve had the Book Tracker for a few years and only this month really made use of it. It’s a tad clunky to use (sometimes more than a tad) and if you’re not VERY careful one can sometimes inadvertently lose info. But the info it stores, and the valuable option of being able to search the web for a full entry, are amazing features. An instruction manual would be great. I am also purchasing the Music Tracker to log my hundreds of CDs.

A good start. I like the graphical interface but wish the Import from Goodreads worked better. Even though it is in the Goodreads csv file, the app did not import my “shelves” in any way. So now I’ve got a project on my hands if I want to recreate that. Same with “date read” - it’s not there and if I go to update the book from the Internet, it adds today’s date as the read date. I get the issue with book images and don’t mind that so much.

Librarian-friendly Features. Of all the book tracking apps out there, this is the most intuitive and feature-rich for cataloging one’s personal collection. The responsiveness to support requests is also phenomenal. Support indies!

Loving the App. Loving the App. I can keep track of all that I read and listen too. I can even see the one that I abandoned and maybe pickup again. I wish we could have an option of more than one user. My kiddo would like to track his books. Or if I could track the books I read to them at night separately from my own that would be great.

Unusable without paying for pro. I wanted to like this, I really did. It looks well designed, and I like that he developer doesn't track usage... but it *constantly* pops up a nag screen to buy the pro upgrade. Every few seconds, "buy pro!" I enter a book to test with: "Buy pro!" I tap on the book to see how it displays: "Buy pro!" I understand the desire to sell the pro version, but this is borderline abusive, and makes it impossible to even try the app to see if I want pro at all.

There isn’t really a free version as stated. App says it will work with a free version, and that some of the features require upgrading to the pro version. It pretends you can keep using it, but really it only lets you input 5 books total then anything you try to do gets a pop-up to buy the full version. I’ve only had it for a month and five books isn’t really enough to test out the limited trends features on the free side. So where I was considering upgrading if it was working for me, I definitely won’t now that it’s clear it’s just going to demand money. One-time fee or not, I’d like to try it out first!

Clean and functional. Book tracker and library manager , but also a powerful way to save highlights and notes on each book . I like the consistent layout design between all your apps , keep up the good work

Well thought out. Excellent app! I've tried several other apps to catalogue my home library, but always ended up not following through. This app is just better. My favorite "feature" is how few clicks/taps are required to add a new book. Thanks!

Simple & Clean!. Love this app to pieces! It’s simple & clean design is easy to use & pleasing to the eyes! Was looking for an app to track books that was offline & easily editable and this more than meets the mark! Already been recommending it to all my book loving friends! Not sure if y’all take recommendations or feedback but, if there’s anything I’d like to see it’d be: — Area to add a narrator for audiobooks — Area to include run time for audiobooks — A notes section similar to the quotes — Section to mark a book as a reread to track it again Love the app! All the care & love poured into it definitely shows! Thanks! 😊

Not sure about recent changes. Love this app and been using it for a few years now. However, the latest update seems to have removed certain data. I can’t tell how my current number of total pages read this year compares to last. Not sure why this feature was eliminated.

Okay app. General, it’s a good app. Nicely organized, comes with a wish list and a tracker. The only thing that made me not want the app anymore was the fact you had to pay for an unlimited number of books to add onto either list (tracker/wish). Money is currently tight for me, so I’m unable to pay the 11 bucks it’s asking for, but if you got the funds and like a well running app, I definitely suggest this!

The book cataloguing app I was looking for. I’ve been really happy using this app after trying many other cataloguing apps in the past. I love that I can access my library on multiple devices: Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It is constantly being improved and the developer is very responsive to suggestions for new features.

I love the simplicity. I really like that this feels like an app that comes on your iPhone. It’s very simple and clean. No bugs that I have noticed. My only wish is that you can look back at the statistics for previous months. Pages read and books bought etc, would be cool to compare month to month. Also an option to view it on a month style calendar!

Great app. I’m really loving this is as an app to keep track of the books in my collection. I’m not interested in the social media nature of Goodreads, so this is perfect for me. I do have a couple questions though: Is there a capacity to how many books you can add to the app? Is the capacity reliant on iCloud?

Almost Perfect. This app is almost perfect. Easy to use. Easy to track by author, series, loans, tabs, genre etc. The only improvement I would make is to be able to track narrators for those who listen to audiobooks. I both read and listen and have preferences for certain audiobook narrators, as do a lot of listeners. I do add narrators and listening length into the notes but would like to be able to look up books by the narrator. Then the app would be perfect

All I Need! … but Question for Developer. This is such a nice app. Simple to use. Visually appealing. Plus it is everything I want as an avid book collector. My one question for the developer is— will the option to sort books by author ever be available? I am using this to sort and manage all my books on my bookshelves; with the hopes of an easy sort by authors last name. However, 20 books in I realized I didn’t have the option to sort by author! Otherwise, solid app!

Perfect app well worth the money. This is the perfect tracking app. It has everything that iBooks is missing and looks like the Apple UCI. You can track via page number, percentage read, change covers of books, add your review, etc. Amazing! Thank you guys!

Absolutely love it. This app is by far and away the best book tracking app I’ve used. It’s highly customizable but can still be very minimal. I would love it if when you add a quote and select the book the quote is from, the book(s) you are currently reading would show up at the top of the list. Besides this one request, I think this app is perfect

Really awesome 👏. I’ve been looking for a simple app like this to keep track of my library, how much progress I’ve made on each book, and a wishlist for suggestions I’ve received. Love it! Looking forward to future updates

Great App, Small UI Inconvenience. The app is really nice and really polished. The interface for searching is nice as well. However, there’s a small nagging issue in wishlists. When I tap the wishlist button after searching, I need to hit save, otherwise it doesn’t save the book. I would love to see it save as soon as I tap wishlist.

Great app. Awesome app and allows me to keep track of the books I'm reading or have read. One suggestion would be to be able to import my list of books from calibre. I am able to export a catalog of all my ebooks from calibre in csv format if we could read that somehow and add all the books would be amazing.

Some minor improvements. Love the app in general. Easy to add books. Lots of tags and organization options. I wish I could search within my library. I want to be able to search easily for a book and make sure I don’t have It before I purchase at a bookstore. If this feature were added it would be the perfect app!
