FINAL FANTASY BE:WOTV Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Features taken out from the Japanese version. I have to give this app a solid 1* due to the fact that the Japanese version of the game has an option to delete your account in-game which allows you to start a new account (reroll) a lot easier. Mobile games nowadays with gacha features are all about rerolling at the start of a game, and it is nice when games make it so that process is easier. But this company has decided to make it harder despite the fact that option was already there. Especially in times where we have a pandemic going on in the world, this filthy greedy company is still all about profits. Edit: I am adding more here because there are convenient bugs that help out the developer. There are a lot of bugs that will allow you to watch a video to summon or refresh NRG, but you only get 3 a day. But if you get low on NRG it will still ask you if you wish to watch a video to refresh it, but not refresh. So you waste your time watching a video that does nothing but help this greedy company get more money. And when it asks if you wish to do your free video summons, it will default to the non-free video, so you could easily accidentally click on the wrong summon thanks to this “bug/glitch”. This game is already as greedy as it can get, but can you at least try not to scam people purposely?

Free, fun, but a bit overwhelming. I love FFTactics so decided to give this game a try on mobile. Overall pretty good and fun, but they honestly put every existing game mechanics available to this game so it feels too overwhelming…. Not only do you need to level up your players, but you need to mastery his skills, unlock skill map, level up your visions, enhance them, do the same with equipment, daily/event quests, guild, etc etc it’s too much! The other issue is you get to unlock so many different characters but I just want to focus on one team and master it, so after awhile it does t matter if I am able to get more characters since my team is already full! Kudos to them that they don’t try to force you pay as I was able to get URs from free roll. Wish they would keep the game simple like Tactics.

Over complicated but enjoyable game play. This game peaked my interest because I love FFT. The gameplay for the story is great! However outside of that it’s mediocre at best with an odd focus on automation, and to many in game currencies. During the story you can level and control your team but if you want to join a guild and do a guild battle it’s automated, ranked PVP in the arena? It’s automated. Then the in game currency it starts with visiore and Gil which seems normal. However there is then purchased visiore which is separate and what you purchase with it is cheaper. Then you have arena currency for when you pvp but that’s different from pvp currency from when you casual match, then guild currency, friend currency, raid currency soul currency, vision currency and when you spend visiore to pull characters a currency for each pull that can’t be spent for more pulls just to help you if you get what you want from the pull. The game is only 6months old but already feels dated and the cross over characters which should bring fun to it you can only develop during their event so if you don’t max them out before the event ends they are worthless. With no follow up events several of your favorite characters then sit in your team to weak to be used.

Would be 5 stars but... Amazing game. But the fact that they measure whether you actually buy their currency vs the currency you get for free is where I have an absolute issue. If you’re going to make a play to win game, don’t make it obvious it’s a play to win game. I had no issue until I saw that. Bad business, bad developers... You NEED to fix that feature, it’s abysmal. It’s also way to complicated, just let me upgrade my characters and play a fun game, I feel like I’m committing to making a family every time I open the game up, but I love the tactics to it and it’s incredible, there’s such a high learning curve and I want to dive right in, the hours pass by so quickly when I play. It’s an AMAZING game- the story is excellent, the character development and fighting features are CONSOLE level depth. But the fact that I HAVE to purchase currency when I have ENOUGH currency to make the purchase is RIDICULOUS. Please download it’ll change your life.

Pretty good except for one thing.... Didn’t play for long but unfortunately will already uninstall. Overall, the game seems very well done. Graphics, music, and gameplay paying homage to old-school FFT, with similar mechanics with added features/materials to drag out character and ability growth. Plenty of quests to stay busy. Very impressed with much of the game. UI and movement on battlefield needs some minor tweaks but does not ruin the game. Voice acting and dialogue is worse than a bad high school Shakespeare play. Don’t download voice acting and just read the dialogue to avoid the pain. Overall, the game itself is very enjoyable and well done. The reason I’ve uninstalled is the gacha/summon system. It’s why I rated this game 3 stars. At first, Free/earned gems will work on a new-user summonx10 banner that offer one guaranteed mega to ultra rare unit or skill to get started. After that’s gone, the chance of ultra rare is 2%. Guaranteed ultra rare is thereafter available with paid gems only, not free gems. 10xsummon for the one guaranteed UR will cost 2000 gems, about $40! This is pretty shameful and a completely gross manifestation of what mobile games are now. With only 2% chance for great units and skills with free gems, it’ll seriously limit you down the road after investing serious time into the game. Or pay ~$40 per 10xsummon but NO mobile game in this planet is worth that much money for every gacha pull.

Sad to see FFT attached this. Big fan of FFT. I played the PS1 game when I was in middle school and have followed/played all the sequels and ports. To be fair: this is not an FFT game. This is a gacha game with Square Enix branding. Much of the core of what made FFT great or any tactic game for that matter) is missing here. This is a slogging, p2w grindfest. I understand this type of game appeals to some and was/is wildly successful in Japan and Korea. Some here in the US might like it. But I do not. The story mode seems okay but having just one UR unit, you can blow through all of it rather quickly. In fact, it promotes auto battles and skipping—who wants that? If you want to play a tactical turn-based RPG, don’t bother here. If you want a game with an insane p2w system, hours upon countless hours of grinding, well I don’t know what’s wrong with you. I’d rather pay $40-50 for a polished game I can play through multiple times. I do not have the time nor patience for a game like this.

Pleasantly surprised by the games CS. Imagine you go to log into the game like you normally do everyday but suddenly you’re met with a popup that says “No account Found” After the initial shock wore off I tried to find the problem. I check my Facebook linked games and see that WOTV is still logged in so I don’t know why it’s not working. Now the worry is not my progress being loss but rather the PAIN that usually is mobile gaming support. I play a lot of gachas and have had HORRIBLE experience with support so I was prepared to cut my losses in move on. What I didn’t know was fixing the problem would not even take 12 hours. Not days or weeks but HOURS. I emailed the support team at 3am my time and by 12pm THE SAME DAY my account was re bound to my Facebook. I’m still in shock that a CS experience could go that well. Oh yeah the game is fun too!

Typical Square Enix. So to start the game is good, good story line, good characters even featured characters that I’m surprised to see. And they have revived the tactical system which is cool. All around definitely deserving of the rating. However the game is a Square Enix game so the grind is real. For those who spend their money it’s more of just getting something before most people do or for those who want to support the company. For those who do not I would recommend just to be patient. You will most likely get all the characters for free anyway even the featured ones their second go around (event wise). Besides they do a lot of giveaways the more support they get. But yes over all definitely enjoy the game and have for over a year now.

I love this game so much!. This is an awesome game. Very addicting. It has a battle system similar to Final Fantasy tactics with the benefit of being a fully interactive online game with a constant stream of new content, new characters, guild, battles and much more. If you never mastered final fantasy tactics on playstation but always wanted to play it, this game makes it easier because it is a touch screen gameplay. The storyline is incredible. I literally stopped playing a lot of my PC games like Skyrim and Stardew Valley when it came out. I grind a lot and I play this game every single day. Lots of side quests and incentives to earn more gameplay. I don’t spend money for this game and I will say it is worth playing. The music is also great! I probably would spend money to make the gameplay easier if I had it. Either way this is an incredible epic game I feel its the best free phone game available hands down including better than mage and minions, merge dragons, and others. The fact that it is a final fantasy cannot be beat!

Something to Consider. I love this game, was an ps one tactics player & this game takes me back. Graphics are clean & visually stunning with the esper summons. I Dig the story I actually paid attention to it instead of skipping it all on my mad quest for free gems. The Gotcha pulls are 50/50 I’ve gotten some great pulls n then nothing for a long awhile. My only real complaint is your prices man they are a bit ridiculous specially in this odd time were a lot of folks don’t have work. Would be good if y’all recognize the times & helped your player base out a little, more free gems maybe a few cheap one time deal packages to keep players logging in & playing. I mean it couldn’t hurt it would say “ hey guys, we get it.. times are tough. We want to ride out this time with you, we are not here solely for your money” Hope you consider it.

Love this game, lots of potential. This is a great game, well made by the developer . But it seems that there needs to be better communication between the players and Gumi. There have been changes to make this game grindier and harder to obtain materials/recipes. The game is favored towards spenders but the F2P can keep up to an extent if they do their research properly. The game will eventually trend towards its death if it keeps making things more difficult for the players without even notifying them (such as lower drop rates for mats, character shards, recipes). The over grinding is not satisfying to achieve and many player(spenders) like myself will give up on the game. If Gumi listens to its player base, it can have lots of success and last a long time! This review rating is subject to change pending if Gumi listens to its customers. Thanks and great game, just don’t let it die!

Too much for the same thing.. Nothing is really wrong with this game. I’m a huge fan of FFBE and DFFOO because they’re relatively simple to get used to and most things come easily or with some grinding are obtainable. However, WOTV seems to have a million different things going on at once and can be slightly confusing especially if you’re just starting out. It makes sense to have in depth tutorials but even then the amount of information you’re being forced to remember is a little wild. There’s character abilities, prerequisite levels, prerequisite job levels, character awakenings, ability enhancements, character masteries, vision cards with awakenings, esper cards with awakenings, and then on top of that a weapon system that seems super unreasonable. For example we got a free weapon for early register or something, which is great, but the level on the weapon is so high and the weapon proficiency leveling is EXTREMELY slow. I used Sterne from release for a few months and never saw his weapon proficiency move despite the fact that he had the correct weapon equipped and got plenty of combat experience. It’s just too much. For all of that I would rather play WOTL and grind job points and stat improvement. Significantly simpler. Not a bad game, just requires the amount of time and focus you would dedicate to a console game or pc game.

RIP DFFOO. Another great Final Fantasy game that is optimized for mobile play. Warning to all that are new; this game is First is a Character building game with Gacha Elements. Suffers from what all mobile titles suffer from: Powercreep and Monetization. If you push that aside- I would deem this Tactics title better than WOTL. The art is prettier, the animations are great, the roster is Phenomenal, and gameplay feels a little less clunky (imo). Only 2 issues with the game that come to mind but don’t deter it from receiving 5-stars. 1.) The random crashes and lag my IPad experiences. Works smooth on my Samsung 21+ without crashing at all. 2.) I have this sinking feeling that all FF mobile titles are all very temporary. You spend anything and the devs say “thanks for the money- Peace!” kind of makes me not want to invest money or time into what developers deem as trash. If it happens here: last mobile FF I will ever play again. Thanks for the anxiety SQEX…

F2P review. It been a fun game a week ago. It been about two weeks now. I done everything the game have to offer at this point. I know going into this game is a gacha style where you pay to win but I was hopeing that if you invest the time into this like some other games your rewarded for it even if you don’t pay just take aolt longer time to get there. So far it Frederika banner and I completed all the story mission. My Characters are at point where I need rainbow materials to awaken and their not enough available unless you pay up. Sad I know so now Im stuck on that part. Also the faint memory material show it drop commonly in the said story mission but rarely drop. I gone 10+ run and not seen one drop the grind is hideous as not all enemies drop mats. If you playing just to waste time not a bad game. If it hardcore I recommend spending cash as this game is intended but I wouldn’t recommend it. Pvp the only way left to earn crystal during weekly reset once everything been collected else where. I’ll be taking a break until more campaign mission become available I enjoy the storyline.

A Bittersweet Success. I am blown away by the production value of this game. The art, models, music, and voice acting are so much better than I could have hoped, and I’m truly impressed. Despite that and how excited I am to see a new Final Fantasy Tactics game, it also causes a great deal of pain. Final Fantasy Tactics was once one of highest praised tactics rpgs on the market. The PSOne original and the Tactics Advance successors were such master classes in game design. Sadly, it feels like the legacy and potential is squandered here. There are console quality graphics, music, cutscenes, and, VO; but they’re stranded on a gacha based mobile game. Instead of reviving the long loved and long ignored king of tactics, we just get this sad tease. I’ll probably still play it, I’m desperate. But instead of utilizing this team’s talent and celebrating the return of FFT, I find myself already rolling my eyes at premium currencies, a bloated roster, and a slog of upgrade materials. Just let me pay you the $60 for the fully fleshed out FFT title we deserve. I feel like a starved dog that’s been thrown scraps. I’ll like the crumbs off the floor, but it’ll never be the same as a nice steak.

Greedy, but F2P-viable.. They have a cornucopia of designs and mechanics to drain the player of real-world money if you’re willing, but they’re also quite generous with handouts. If you’re the kind of player that can resist and wait for character progress to unlock over time, this is actually a pretty great ‘Final Fantasy Tactics’ style game. Most impressive IMO is how well they’ve balanced all the Characters (even many below UR/rainbow tier) so that it’s completely viable to play with your preferred Units and not just the “meta”, or at least so compared to many other gachas. The power-creep is very slow in this game and, if they keep at this balanced pace, I predict there’s still a long future ahead for it. I’ve been playing now for over 2 years and still log in to play for 30+ mins daily.

A lesson in resource management. FFBE WOTV is a fantastic, beautifully designed, and engaging free to play game. I am in love with how the progression of your characters requires grit, perseverance, and patience. All units have a certain utility and trained properly with satisfactory gear can become very strong. Everything you need to power up your characters is obtainable through quests, events or trading medals or other resources for them. There is literally no need to spend any money in the game, you are able to gather everything you need slowly. Because of this you have to choose the units you want to focus on first, and then work on the others. By making use of your resources and projecting timeframes to when you will obtain what you need again the process of powering up teaches you valuable skills like delaying instant gratification, developing persistence, grit, and consistency, and the reward of seeing your effort of 30-90 days or more collecting resources and shards to fully awaken your favorite unit. Also, the guild system is great, gives pretty good rewards and the gaming community is really supportive of starting players. This is truly a gem in the series, and I hope that future players will enjoy it as much as I am!

Hope the devs see this. I really enjoyed this game up until now although I’ve only played about 3 months. The grinding is excessive but I’m ok with it for the most part. The way this game throttles any advancement is a bit ridiculous. You have to pay a ludicrous amount of money to have a maxed character inside of 4 months. In addition, you can only work on 4-5 characters at a time so you can’t even pull for new ones because you have to pay for shards all the time. My biggest issue is the lack of high level content. I don’t even have a level 99 character yet, and I can auto battle all of the content except the tower that comes once every couple months. I have no idea what the whales of this game even do other than fight each other all day in the arena. Seriously, you get your characters to level 60 and you can do everything easily. If they put half the energy into new content that they put into stifling character growth this would be a great game. I mean even a hard mode on story quests would be easy to do and add more depth. I don’t know how much longer I’ll play as there really isn’t anything exciting to do

Coming from a long time FFBE player...I’m cautiously optimistic. I just started playing this as a fan of Final Fantasy and tactics especially. So far, as a new player, it’s a bit overwhelming. But I’m hoping if I stick with it I will find a lot of enjoyment in its story and other aspects. I played Brave Exvius for years, but it became too difficult to keep up with its constant events and I seldom had time to enjoy the story anymore. And I saw that there were many benefits for starting players here, so I figured why not give it a try? And I am enjoying it so far. But I also have to keep in mind that it is a Square Enix mobile game, and two of my favorite mobile titles have been discontinued, at least for global players. Those being Mobius Final Fantasy and Star Ocean: Anamnesis. I put a lot of time and money into those games, and unfortunately they are gone now. So I’m cautiously optimistic about the future of this game. And I hope to find a lot of enjoyment for years to come.

Amazing game with great voice acting and interactive gameplay 😊. This is an amazing game! I’ve had it for a while and just started playing it again this year. The story has gotten way more interesting, as well as the characters and the dialogue. Gameplay, even on auto, is extremely interactive and entertaining to watch. Summoning is fun and fair, not a pay to win kind of gacha. A lot of fun characters to choose from to summon. Tons of things to do than just the main story. Events and other things to do. Levelling up system is fun because there’s a lot to it, leveling characters, weapons, espers, and vision cards. It all keeps me busy in a good way because its fun and interesting 😊 the bingos and missions to complete are also another incentive for rewards. I want to summon Lady Jeume when I can and I hope they do a summon event for Final Fantasy Rebirth since it just came out 😊 Great Game! 😊

Not Free 2 Play friendly.. The story and graphic are nice, and the auto battle is a plus to this. However, building your dream team is impossible when every characters require so much resources and their are only a limited FREE resources for people who don’t pay. I wished this game wasn’t a gacha so then I could’ve play for the story, it could’ve been better. They could’ve design it as “full price” like the other Final fantasy. And just add expansion that cost money for the story so we would at least be able to enjoy the story without stopping because I don’t have enough resources to be this stage. The story is good, but it’s downside that it’s imposible to keep up when we don’t have much resources to upgrade our characters and that the stages out pace the characters stats. Could really use a balanced fix on the story stage. I really wished I could’ve continue playing but I couldn’t after knowing I can’t get any good units and stage become unplayable. This is consider a “Pay to Win”, premium game. STAY AWAY if you don’t have good luck with gacha or good experience with this.

Very shady in the way premium and free currency is handled. I started playing this game because I’ve always been a huge final fantasy fan. It’s a well made game so I decided to purchase the premium currency pack to support the developers. The game’s premium and free currency looks the same, the only distinction is the word “purchase” next to it. I found that odd, but assumed that the store system would distinct between the two. It doesn’t make it clear that the store will use the premium currency in place of the free currency. I’d imagine that’s an easy mistake that most players will make. They only need to change the color of the currency to make it obvious. When I messaged the help desk, I assumed they’d review it and attempt to make it right. But within minutes, I received a email that basically says they won’t refund or do anything. It was basically an auto response, which leads me to believe many other have had the same issue, and that they just sweep them aside. I would of been happy to keep playing this game if they at least tried to make it right. The shady way the developer went about it made them loose a customer who would of been willing to purchase more to support them.

It’s okay. The idea behind this game is really great, but the camera angles in addition to the changing height layouts of the map make it really hard to navigate your characters. Prepare to accidentally move characters places you didn’t mean to move them to! That bad UX also means characters lose turns. It’s a weird battle mechanic that doesn’t work well with smartphone screens. Fire Emblem (Heroes and other original games) does this much better. There are also SO many cogs to consider when managing your game and team that it’s a little too complicated. It’s okay at first but within a few days I tired of this game, uninstalled it, and never looked back. That was a couple months ago, and I’m writing this now since I saw an ad for the game and I think I’ve waited enough and can look back clearly to determine my real feelings about this game. It’s okay, but not really good or great. I recommend it for people to try at least.

Game is better now than before. The game used to be very tedious and still is super grindy but with the past year of quality of life updates, its more enjoyable. You can finally play with your favorite units and beat the stages once and then after if you need to farm, you can just use the auto play during background option, which saves time, phone battery, and skip tickets. The gacha has been easier to get new units with their pity system thats ever been so slowly evolving since the beginning. Now we get a few tickets for each new banner, free shards, and sometimes even free multi’s. Not to mention all the new style extra gift rolls like the 9 step up banner for units and the 5 step up banner vision card guaranteed that usually follows the unit afterwards. They had also shortened dailies and made things easier. But for the hardcore players and enthusiasts, there is still much to do like the tmr system and the highly new level 140 system. For the casuals like me, do all the fun stuff that you can and auto background play the rest. The game has too much to talk about but if your new they do give you free units to bring you up to speed. Good luck and have fun everyone.

Really not what I was looking for in FFT or FFBE.. Yeah. This game is way too high maintenance unless you pay. There are too many mechanics bogging you down, there’s a lot of grinding and when you can’t grind you have to wait for things you want to show up in the shop (or, you know buy the stuff). The time it takes me to get stuff for only one character is too long for it to matter and it has me thinking that I could be playing ANYTHING else. Oh, and the story’s bad. I still don’t know much about the kingdoms, nor the conflict between them, almost everyone in charge seems to act like children or idiots and when there are sane people making sensible suggestions, they get called cowards and ignored. One of the very few times I felt like skipping a story. I wanna like this, since I’m a fan of the Tactics series, but this isn’t Tactics. This is post-season 1 watered down FF BE, with tacked on Tactic mechanics, bloated with a convoluted leveling system, made with the piddly, insulting attempt to get you to make money.

Legit gives UR characters and rewards players for playing.. I like Final Fantasy War of the Visions, it’s like War of the Lions and the art style is something I can appreciate. I like Final Fantasy tactics so this game was a great fill in, like the diverse characters and I like Vinera she is a great character. Happy to have some colored people in Final Fantasy plus I like the fist fighter but I can’t remember his name off of the top of my head. But capture the Black person style, hands down 👏🏿💯. Enjoy playing this game daily, just doing the daily’s will earn you enough in this game, the story line is great. Though me and my brother was wondering when Mont was going to become King also happy to have him too, though didn’t expect the story to get so tragic and filled with drama. It’s like a play or something you would see in a theater 🎭. But well written 😃💯.

AMAZING!. Don’t listen to people who complain about pay to win. I’ve played for two days and have a complete team of UR units, and I summoned them with the free not the paid gems. If you play gatcha games you know what you’re getting into. When you spend you get more stuff. However, you can still progress and get the top heroes in the game without spending a dime. Also, I can’t believe people complaining about the depth of the strategy and character development! That’s what sets this game apart from the rest. It’s gorgeous with a great story and complex gameplay. If you like to auto through every battle and not actually play the game then this might not be for you. Definitely for the hardcore tactical rpg fan. If you like FEH or Langrisser then you will love this game.

Good potential, but..... Honestly, I just wanted a game to entertain me during the down time. What I have found is that it has that potential. I don’t care about being the best pvp player or having all the toys, so the pay to win aspect (which is heavy here) doesn’t bother me all that much. I came for the story and tactics. As that is, it takes some serious grinding to level characters and equipment. The best summon grids require that you paid money for the right to use them. The worst part, this game crashes, often. In fact I have not been able to get past scene 6 in chapter one for a week now because of this frustrating fact. The same goes for missions, side quests and limited time events. Crash, start over......crash. Sometimes it will crash in the middle of a summon. Sometimes it will crash just navigating the home screen. You are at the mercy of it crashing at any time. Until this major bug is “fixed”, and unless you just want to collect items in the shop and spend free visiore for a dozen or so starter characters, spend your time elsewhere.

A Cashgrab that’s kinda worth your time.. Story is pretty great actually. The combat is fun and rewarding, which is good considering how much grinding has to be done. The game does a pretty good job of giving you incentive for logging in everyday with free in game currency (Shards). The frequency of URs in the game is pretty awesome and it does a good job of making sure you can dive into their lore by providing story scenario missions for those new Characters. The multiplayer battles are not too bad and it does a good job of kicking off people who want to Lazy Grind. The guild system needs a loooot of rework in my opinion. There are only a few this to do and it doesn’t really incentivize players to be more active during guild battles, so you get a lot of dead weight. Unfortunately, A looooot of the ease of life stuff is locked behind a paywall. Want 2xSpeed in battle? $20! Want to Guarantee you get the newest cool UR summon? $40. Also the game makes a very clear distinction that the Items/LootBoxes/Summons that use Paid shards are infinitely better. And no your Free hoard of 4,000 shards can’t buy the Drk Element Lvl up box of 200 premium shards.

Not worth it unless you spend thousands. This game is entirely geared around spending money, and a lot of it. The amount you get for dropping $80 in this game is ridiculously lackluster compared to spending that in other games. Free players will not be able to compete at all, especially as all the good units are limited availability and you can’t farm them after. Even the “offers” are a complete scam, with the majority being “surveys” which do nothing but collect data on you like your address, how many people live with you, your job, etc, and they don’t actually pay out the offer after giving out a lot of sensitive information — but you feel the need to try them anyways because you can’t do anything without vast amounts of the in-game currency. I was excited for a Final Fantasy Tactics game, but this is not that. It’s a thinly veiled cash grab, with ever increasing power creep to force you to keep spending or become irrelevant. Unless you are a whale spender and don’t mind dropping $3000 or more, I’d go for more satisfying games for low spender/free players like Summoners War or Raid Shadow Legends where you might not be top tier but at least you feel your hours played are improving your account and not solely determined by how much visiore you have bought/collected.

Twitching remains of a once legendary game. Final fantasy tactics was once an elegant masterpiece, and it’s a shame to see it tarnished with this bloated, overwrought cash grab. Don’t be fooled by the visuals— every mechanic in this product is designed to compulsively milk money from you, entertainment is an after-thought. Please understand that I do enjoy a gacha game which respects its players, but this is not one of them. One look at the main menu after the opening tutorial shows you just how littered with salesmanship it is. You are immediately asked to watch videos in exchange for power, the store has more items than a new player can possibly understand, and there are dozens of push notifications thrust at you before you begin to actually become invested in the story or gameplay— which, by the way, we’re encouraged to auto-skip, because the developers understand this product is all about compulsion— Just keep pulling that slot machine lever and convince yourself you’re having “fun”. I’m told the pay wall is huge, but I refuse to suffer this betrayal of the source material to find out for myself. I would have happily paid $80 for a proper sequel.

Awesome game.. What makes this game so great? 1) The game is very generous. I’ve just started and I already have a handful of UR characters. 2) The combat is complex and interesting. It reminds me of the good old days of Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. 3) The story and its characters are all very good. I had trouble falling asleep because I couldn’t stop myself from progressing through the story. Some suggestions: I used to play Covenant of the Plume, so that has shaped my expectations quite a bit. I feel like more should happen when you strike the enemy from behind. Maybe there can be an Ambush buff/de-buff that increases damage/lowers defense or maybe there can be an Off-guard de-buff that increases the time before the next turn. I also feel like there should be formation buffs that reward grouping and positioning units together. For example, maybe something can happen when a unit attacks an enemy and there’s an ally unit on the opposite side or the enemy is surrounded on all fours by allied units. There should be something that rewards teamwork. For example, maybe when a unit acts, allies that are in range join in with preset actions that have reduced effectiveness or something. Overall, still a great game that I would recommend.

Dailyplayer. I have been playing this game daily since its launch, and I am enjoying myself!! I spent only $16 on this game, mainly for buying the package which gives 100 free visiores for 30 days!! This game is well designed with great graphics, and players can progress without actually spending a dollar!! Developers are generous such as the 2000 visiores given on 7/15, and also the 10x free pull for 10 days coming 7/29!! And I hope there will be more to come!! For players crying that FTP players cannot build up their characters, USE YOUR VISIORES WISELY!! Do not pull for all characters!! For me, I have 2 max UR, 3 LB4 maxed awakened UR, and I am starting to build up another 3 UR right now, with 40K visiores in store, waiting to spend them at the right moment!! Yes, I spent $16, but I use my visiores wisely too! The temptation to pull (for e.g., Vinera) is real, but you just have to resist!!

Great game, but a few things worth noting. I’ve been enjoying the story and the strategy and team building aspects of this game. This game is deep and I think is exceptional in Square Enix’s library of mobile games. However, the current events going on have abysmal drop rates for items. Typically, events with rare opportunities to farm items for equipment advancement (which is very clunky in of itself and can be streamlined) don’t come very often. To be somewhat effective in this game, equipment is one of the crucial parts of this game that helps you do that. But, I find that the amount of NRG used to gain materials, such as recipes, is not very sustainable. The developers understand how much it takes to max out a certain piece of equipment or a character, so I find it disappointing that it’s made difficult to get what I need to play the game well without paying a substantial amount of money to strengthen our characters. I hope the developers would consider increasing drop rates or even adding a pity system so players can feel satisfied with the time and effort they put in.

Don’t download this predatory game!. This egregious gacha game seeks to psychologically manipulate you into wanting to spend tons of money on limited event items with forced scarcity, while incentivizing you to miserably grind while semi-idle for hours on end every day. They have created a fomo treadmill to trap players into feeling like they have to spend money or grind constantly to keep up, and the game is unequivocally predatory in design. I played the game since launch and while I grew to despise the design of the game, I felt forced to keep up with a routine to make sure I could level time-limited event characters to 99 which is incredibly time consuming and grindy. In fact, there is little content in this game outside of material grinding. I suspect that square enix paid apple a significant sum to get on the “editors choice” list in the App Store, because there is no way that these editors actually enjoy this game. This type of design puts a dark stain on Square Enid’s legacy and they should be ashamed, and so should apple for promoting such a predatory style of game. To all those considering trying this game because they liked tactics or other final fantasy games: do NOT get tricked, stay far away from this scam-like gacha game.

Way to much of a paywall. So the good: it’s a beautiful game with great graphics, a good storyline, and a fun gameplay loop. You should be able to complete most story events without spending a dime. Multiplayer it’s basically impossible to be competitive without spending. Now on to spending - I don’t actually have a problem spending on gacha but this game does some aggravating things. You collect gems called visiore as the rare premium currency. The game distinguishes between “paid” and “free” visiore so strictly speaking there are two premium currencies and Square has chosen to hide this. If something requires “paid” visiore you must buy gems with real money in order to use that summon/buy that item, etc. The launch window included a high end summon with a guaranteed ultra rare unit for 2,000 paid visiore. This is something like $20 USD so if you buy enough visiore for both special summons, you’re already out like $40. The mark of a good gacha is being able to earn everything for free in a reasonable amount of time. This makes me want to keep playing and helps to build community around the game. It also compels me to spend because I get invested in the game. The real shame here is they’ve got a dynamite spiritual sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics and they’ve wasted it on a gacha cash grab scheme. Still, it is worth checking out at least. The free content is high quality.

Actually Free to Play!. With games like this, there’s usually a ceiling you reach as a FTP player, but oh no, not this one. There’s free daily visoire and tons of gil to go around. You can complete missions for visoire real easily, and for every story segment completed, you get a hefty sum of 1,000 visoire! Now, if you constantly blow your visoire on summons instead of highly rare awakening materials or character shards, you could argue that maybe there is a ceiling. However, if you’re smart with your visoire, you can keep pace quite nicely with everyone else. I’ve only dumped around $20-25 into the game, just because I was a little impatient and wanted some mats to awaken my heroes sooner. The devs made the game so you don’t have to spend any cash if you don’t want to, and I love that about this game. It’s all about patience really, just waiting for events to roll around, which they always are. My UR heroes are leveling nicely and I’ve hit a bit of a slow zone due to hero shards needed at higher limit breaking levels, but that’s where the events come in. If you use your visoire resourcefully on shards for the heroes you want to limit break, it’s not that difficult to get them up there. Anyways, AMAZING game, the story is the icing on top. 10/10

Would 5 but. There is alot great with the game but there are a few things that ruin the fun. 1. Is the fact that you get the characters then the limit break for the good ones are so expensive that you have to be a p2p too be competitive with it other wise you stay behind in the meta. Because you get to farm maybe 3-10 a day free and by the time lb 4 comes around you need 160.... in the shops the good units for x5 -x40 shards is like 2-4K vis . You get mid game and fall off because the game caters to p2p to be in the top meta which should not be. 2. Is that if you four star anything events included you should be able to skip ticket them.. 3. Is that you need to fix arena because I get tired of have a combined power of 1200 and getting beat by a team with 200 less power because I wasn’t controlling them.. lastly though is that I love grinding and a game that has alot to offer but the fall off point from f2p to p2p it’s unbalanced . If I was going to pay money I wouldn’t buy 15k vis for thousands for x2 play speed .. and some minor perks. You need to make f2p more enticing because f2 p isn’t another word for casual play. I’m just as competitive as any p2p but the game doesn’t see that please work with me..

Could have been great—except for the Gachapon. This game has all the makings of a truly wonderful game. It has strong writing, expert graphic design, and a pretty good combat system. With “Final Fantasy” in the name, one could expect great things from this game. And a new addition to the “Tactics” repertoire was a welcome development. Unfortunately, this game falls to all the pitfalls of being just another Gachapon lottery. Only the “Ultra Rare” characters have competitive stats, the gems used to pull from the Gachapon are expensive (you can spend hundreds of dollars and still have a significant chance of not getting what you were hoping for) and even the combat system and story are somewhat aimed at tempting you to purchase a chance at the fancy new unit. If you like to gamble away your time and money, and you enjoy a lite RPG with a Final Fantasy skin, then this is the game for you! But if you’re hoping for a game of substantive value, then your better off looking somewhere else.

So bloated with systems it hurts. Tl;dr: too many systems blocking fun. Too Grindy for f2p. I was a huge fan of FF Tactics and went in mildly optimistic. The cluttered home menu should have been to my dismay but I soldiered through in hopes of fun. And on paper it should be. The animations are great, the map lay outs are solid. But *every* single thing is gated behind some convoluted system. The weapons have an upgrade system. The armor pieces have an upgrade system. The cards, the Espers, the units have ability, limit breaking and “rarity” breaking. Nothing is just “hey here’s a unit with some cool abilities.” First you need to level, summon more of them to limit break, farm a ridiculous amount to unlock the ability to unlock skills, farm more for the currency to actually unlock the skills. Repeat for every unit you’d like to even glance at. And they throw so much of the “premium” (which is separate from the paid premium) currency in hopes you stay. But by the time you’ve farmed enough to get your units to have more than 2-3 active skills, you realize you could have just played ff tactics.

My favorite mobile game of all time. I am a huge FF since I was a kid especially Tactics. I pre registered and am a day 1 player with over 300 logins. The game just had its anniversary event almost two months ago. It IS a gotcha but Square/gumi have been VERY generous on giving visiore ( their in-game currency that has a paid version) Its amazingly balanced you don't have to pay to win. The game has an amazing story characters and voice acting. Unit developing does take time and is complex with awakenings, limit breaks job levels, unit levels, stat ability grid, vision cards, espers and weapons/armor/accessory crafting. Theres a a lot to do but you can do all that you need daily for about 30 minutes of time a day. I highly recommend even if you've never play a FF game before.

Excessive grinding. Good things first: the game itself is fine (an FFT clone basically), and the gacha is actually quite generous and reasonably f2p friendly, with all the free crystals they give you (unless you want to be seriously PvP competitive of course). The way the gacha works is weird (upgrading characters to the point of them being useful is far more expensive & time consuming than actually getting them, so you need to spend all your crystals on upgrades, rather than the gacha itself), but I can live with that. The UI is not great, but passable. Graphics look a bit wonky on my iPhone 7, but perhaps that’s what I get for not having the newest model. My main problem is that the amount of mindless grinding it wants you to do is far beyond any other game I’ve played, and I’ve played a few. Raid events are the worst, but even beyond that, you, for example, need to play 1000 battles for each character/esper pairing to reach full potential (skip tickets don’t count, and don’t work outside of story missions anyway), grind for mats/gold/etc. Be prepared to leave your phone on & playing itself for many hours daily (at least the game has auto play, to its credit). Weapon upgrade system is complicated far beyond any reason, requires tons of luck, and yes, more grinding. And if that wasn’t enough, material drop rates have recently been further reduced. I don’t have time for this, so back to Langrisser mobile (which is a much better game anyway).

Just enough to get you to pay. The fun of this game is maxing out your characters (units) and equipment. There is an interesting story and a lot of variation in ways you can play. This game is really fun at first, but the longer you play, the more materials you need to level up units and equipment without any way to really get those materials except either grinding for weeks or paying the ridiculously high prices for paid visiore- Who is paying $40 for just 2,000 visiore (one random chance of getting something in a summon or one chest or mediocre materials) or 80 unit shards (not enough for a level jumps which are often 120 for multiple level upgrades)? Initially they give you a lot, but it’s to create the desire to have the same quick progress later. Without paying exorbitant amounts or grinding for weeks on auto play for incremental, slow progress, your characters stagnate and you start to lose interest. I’d definitely recommend the developers minimize required materials for unit and equipment progress, increase drop rates, and significantly lower the prices for paid items so that it feels worth the price.

This game hates you. I would not wish this game upon my worst enemy. Gumi took a great art style and deep gameplay and then threw gacha evil into every layer. It’s not even fun, it’s stressful and grindy. I have put some money into this game, but unless you are spending hundreds of dollars a week then expect to be disappointed. Time limited character? Even if you pull it, you can’t upgrade it unless the gacha shop system allows you to buy upgrade materials (spoiler alert: it won’t). Now you have a limited unit permanently under leveled despite spending cash and doing everything correctly. Want to grind for good equipment? You’ll spend weeks farming materials, but once you dump everything into it another gacha system prevents you from getting the full stats of the item. The amount of content and story is terrible. You’ll quickly find yourself repeating the same easy quests on auto because the drop ratio is so low compared to the costs to level/craft. Even new content is gated behind pulling and power leveling the newest offered unit. They don’t give you any meaningful way to proceed unless you can spend enough money to buy the items behind a paywall. Do yourself a favor and avoid this game unless you’re addicted to being perpetually disappointed.

It’s fixed!. I love the concept of the other FFBE, but that battle system was sub-par. This game fixes that issue. The 3D art and battle is 😻. Square-Enix has outdone themselves again, I’m a huge fan and played all the FF and I love their FFtactics games and this one gorgeous. It may seem to complex but after a day of playing the only issue I have is that my phone isn’t big enough, I’m sure it would be easier to press all of the icons with a wider screen. I can’t say how much I like this game even though it has pay to win options. The summon/gambling/surprise mechanics seems generous enough that even now on day 3 I have a party full of “Ultra-Rares” but one of them always manages to die during battle, so they are not OP. I probably spent about a $100 in micro transactions in my entire LIFE, but it may soon double tomorrow. Auto battle is always handy, but the computer makes dumb decisions sometimes, even for your heroes. Totally try this game if you’re a fan, worth it.

FF Tactics but with more cash shop. This game plays incredibly slow and the speed up feature is only available after you spend real life money. A feature that is basically a requirement considering the amount of grind you have to do to obtain items. This alone was enough to turn me off from the game entirely but why stop there? The pull rates for “ultra rare” units is absolutely abysmal and is only worsened by the fact that units and cards are pulled together. So even if you manage to pull an ultra rare it may only end up being a card. These are major red flags and reading the forums of the game that was already released in JP. Gumi’s cash grabbing schemes are only elevated by limiting the number of shards you could pull for free to make it IMPOSSIBLE to fully level up a collab unit without dropping cash. If you have a hankering for nostalgia and a pocket full of cash this game is for you... otherwise don’t bother letting this game ruin fond memories of you old Ff Tactics days.

Frustrating grindfest. Tedious and Incredibly Frustrating. Let’s start by saying the AI is atrocious, the developers update this constantly and it never seems to fix anything even with toggle ability function, which limits some of the stupidity of the AI mechanics. The AI system is incredibly important since 99% of gameplay revolves around your units on auto, the PVP system (Guild Battle and Arena) and spending countless hours grinding for items with meager drop rates. You rarely use manual except that 1% time in endgame scenario (Towers which takes hours-days to complete on manual on final floors, a better AI system and formation copy/paste options would make it less tedious), its almost like that forced manual tutorial in the beginning had absolutely no purpose, since you’re just watching the game rather than playing. You have to rely on auto feature for everything, you have no control whether you win or lose...there are lots of issues, but this is the most frustrating part.

Greed, Anti-Development, still not newbie friendly. I have tried to get my friends to play this game and they all say the same thing, they can’t keep up with the games challenges because they don't have the characters leveled enough or resources available to build the character. The game developers don’t have any insight on giving new players to the game some easy freebies to enjoy the game at a lower or higher level. Its a real shame as i feel it too returning to the game after a long long haitus thinking they revamped it in good ways. Still no celebration for characters, free pulls, for f2p and spenders or any of that. It doesn’t create a healthy ecosystem or economy for the game… im hoping they really start to tune things. Please gumi and SE this can be a great game. Lets get a balance between F2P, Spenders, and lite spenders, and make players feel good for returning to play the games or giving new players and current easier ways to build old units quickly to play the higher level content.

Amazing game and customer service. I have to say this game has been very generous with gems (visiore). The game is giving the players what they need and wants. If you can’t beat anything and think this game is unfair because in your mind p2w is untouchable. Sorry to informe you but you don’t know how to play the game. People complain a lot about p2w. Players who spend money in the game has acess to a more variety of units and fast progression. They are the core to keep this game running. So stop complain. This game has a good balanced every player has the resources to build great teams without spend money. Also has the thing with limited units. They are great but not broken. This game has so many other units that can easily overpower them. All the unit in this game has weakeness. You don’t need limited units, even without you are good. So stop complain about that. Another thing, global players are very greedy compared to JP, the company has giving more free stuff to global because of that. It means they are listening our voices and doing what they can to pleasure their players. The game has being great and now better than ever, I have being playing this game since the release. Thank you, and I hope you guys keep up with the great job.

Free Gems Hold No Value. Was going to purchase one of the first week promotional packages. Kinda figured the developers gave us a decent amount of free gems as rewards and two UR+ (whatever that means) unit summons as a way to welcome early adopters of the game and celebrate it’s release. When I clicked on one of the 2,000 gem packages it told me I needed to buy gems despite having 4,500 total. The purchase screen didn’t even specify it was because mine were “free” gems but it was implied by showing me I had no “paid” gems at the bottom. It’s bad enough when games use gems to obfuscate the actual cost of playing, but when games then differentiate between “paid” and “free” gems (which is sadly becoming more common) it adds yet another layer of needless complexity to hide how much playing this game is going to cost you. (The answer = ALOT. Generally about $25 dollars per UR+ unit.) Basically if you plan to “grind” in this game, you are a second rate citizen because the currency you are rewarded with holds zero value in terms of certain purchases. The original Brave Exvius has a much better reward model that encourages continued engagement, but I guess they just want ALL the money NOW with this imposter of a tactics game. It’s too bad, this had potential.

good SLG but you will spend too much time on it. You have to spend a lot time to farm and so much gem on pull the materials, anyway time killer game and farm farm farm .

Horrible Sumono rate. Bad game. 19 pulls zonks

Disappointed diamond system. I loved the mechanism of the fighting system, but The diamond system is separated by free-obtained and top up-obtained, which means you cannot get some product from the promotion shop and they expect you to top up, although the amount of the required for top up diamond is small but somehow annoying and offending some loyal players to uninstall the game, hope this help you before you decide to install the game or not.

Absolutely horrible. Why can’t I just press the screen once and log in?? What a trashy bad horrendous game

Good game! P2W. Pretty good game. Unfortunately it is more of a pay to win but still decent if you don’t care about about max lvling your characters. Even though I’ve spent quite a bit of money I’m still not able to complete a lot of the missions easily 🤷🏻‍♂️

.. Love this game

Very nice game. Love the tactics games this brings back old memories and enjoy working on different units wish it wasn’t so much grinding and some times hard to pull good units but still a great game

Game is crashing. The game has started to crash as soon as I open the app. Please fix this.

好游戏. 建模可以和pc游戏比了

Watch out for limited time units.. I initially didn’t like this game but pushed ahead. It’s actually quite fun. It’s a game about slow character building. The combat is fun and the graphics are really nice. The sound track and story also. The limited units are not fun. For now I recommend avoiding them. Completing one in the limited timeframe is stressful and based on r&g in the later stages. If they re assess this problem in future the game would get a stronger recommendation.

What a ride. I’ve been playing this game for 2 years every day without fail. It’s my favourite game, I hate it. Please make it stop. Thank you.

Switch. Please make this or the original for the Nintendo switch 🙏🙏🙏

Nostalgic FF tactics game. Loving this game except bit pricey for most

Nice game but greedy. Fantastic story line, nice characters. However compare with the contents, items are tooooo cost

Addison Rae aka A Collab Nobody Asked For. I used to really enjoy War of the Visions, especially as a fan of the Final Fantasy series… But I haven’t touched this in over six months, ever since this abhorrent, tone-deaf, tasteless “collab” with a TikTok “star” started off. When the app icon had changed back and other ACTUAL FINAL FANTASY (or even the FMA collab event) things were happening, it seemed as though Gumi had finally got the message, and the backlash was actually heard. Then we get here to June, 6-7 months later, and this insufferable social media “star” is back again? Yikes. How to make the Final Fantasy franchise look cheap and nasty; add a tasteless social media “star” as a collaboration. There’s nothing “Final Fantasy” about this at all.

Future. I plan to work for Square Enid’s 1st division in Japan someday, I’m beginning my game design studies next year. I decided to work for them because of the final fantasy 7 remake on the ps4. I literally felt all the emotions a person could possibly have within their life time, with just a 50 experience of playing. I’m yet to platinum the game, but I’m still working on it. When I saw this game, I got excited that this was free and downloaded it instantly, and now I believe it’s a sign that I’m welcomed into the future to work for them, as I got 1’000’000’000 by chance at the START of the game!! I’m really excited, and I just wanted to put this out there. See you devs in the near future!!!

Game crashes every day. Hey team, the app crashes on startup consistently every day since v6.0.0 and I need to fully reinstall and DL content each time. Offloading content wont work, I have to re-DL the app from the store. Please address this issue asap.

True Gamer. The story line is absolutely amazing.

Please add controller support. I’d love controller support

-Truly Captivating Game-. I don’t even know where to start. As soon as I first downloaded this game, I fell in love with the battle system, the graphics, the storyline, and the charming characters!! This is one of the very few games that’s kept me hooked for more than four weeks, as I get bored of apps quite easily. The developers continue to impress me, and I would highly recommend it to fans of Final Fantasy Tactics, or just RPGs in general. I’d really like to emphasise how amazing this game is, and how it has touched my heart. Thank you for your time.

One of the best!. Its very f2p friendly and the game attention to details is amazing. Definitely worth playing!

6GB download???. The description says 600mb download size, but actual in-game download is 5.8GB and is close to 6GB download size. Why not just make it 6GB download from the AppStore instead of separate in-game downloading?

Disappointed & I haven’t even had a chance to have an actual battle yet.. 10 minuets in & I haven’t even gotten to play whatever this game is yet. Fk me I’ve had about 30 pup-up screens already trying to explain everything & everything else above the sun. Just frigg off! It’s so infuriating!

Soooo GREEDY. if your not will go spent $100 a day your wasting your time.

Too much grind. I love fft and I love this game but it was way too grindy for a mobile game.

Scam emails / data breach. I started getting scam / spam emails to the name and email address used exclusively on this app; so it was the only place that my data could have been leaked/breached/sold from. Be careful with any data you provide them with!!!

FB login bugged. For some reason I can’t continue with my FB account on the main menu as it continuously crashes to my home page.

A Gumi Let Down. While the game story line is good, you will be consistently screwed over by Gumi, this game is designed to scam you out of your hard earned resources

Good but. This game is good but it randomly closes

MODERN GUNGNIR M. I played Gungnir a lot on my old psp, now there’s a clone version of it, that I can play.

Help. Keeps shutting off

Sound issues. I upgraded to iPad mini 6 with iOS15.02 version. Sadly this game sounds will completely disappear when minimize the game or lock screen. Please fix it.

Super expensive to stay strong. As much as you can play f2p, every new unit release and vision card makes the last one obsolete almost. It will take forever to max your event units and even the regular ones. You will constantly be outmatched in guild wars and arena. Not worth it unless you plan on dumping hundreds of dollars a month to keep up

incredibly boring money-grab. i can’t even explain how terrible the monetization and how slow the progression is in this game. you truly have to experience it for yourself to see how greedy these mf’s are. and to top it off, the game doesn’t even look good enough to give real money for. if you wanna spend money on a ff: tactics game, just buy war of the lions.

I enjoyed it. I ve been playing this game for about a year and a half. Only took a 2 month break from it. People are wuick to think its a p2w game but when you learn where all the free functions are and how often they happen in a day it makes up for it. Visor is very generous in this gane. The paid only summons barely do much different compared to the regular summons so dont get so caught up in that portion of it. Fantactics story line and always updating new stuff almost 2 years later. Top notch game

Gacha, but still good. Fun game, but obviously has the Gacha pit holes. But square does seem to be on the semi generous end of it. So where if you grind the story and make use of allies you should end up with enough to get a full team. Now you only get this amount of resources the once and then have to hoard events to stay f2p but relative to some games on the market this game is yknow, actually a game.

Offer wall fiasco. Their offer wall, where you can do externals offers in other apps/websites to earn in-game currency, gave some players insanely inflated amounts of currency while others got none. They say they will fix but they do nothing. Game is so imbalanced now. Don’t waste your time!

The Alchemist Code copy. Square Enix should be ashamed of putting their name on this. It is nowhere near the quality of story and gameplay we had in past FFT series. What’s even worse than bad story and gameplay is the grinding and monetization being way too much part of every aspect of this game. For exemple there is no class customization which is a big let down. You spend a month full-time playing just to level up a class and unblock one skill. You have to pull the same character over 10 times to raise its level cap at 2% rate!!! For your own good, please bring back the creators and developers that build the FFT legacy and remove your company name from this bad title.

Steer clear. Awful new player experience due to convoluted systems limiting progression and it will take months to develop any off banner pulls. Veterans and new players alike are also going to be deprived of resources as the developers cram 4 months worth of content between now and September in an effort to align the worldwide server to the Japanese server. Stay far away and play other gacha games that actually respect your time and money.

Awesome game for f2p. Lots of grind - expensive for gamblers - lots of content

Takes months to get anything. Been playing this game since launch, over the time the game has gotten progressively worse and stale. It could take you months to accumulate the necessary amount of currency to pull on a unit you wish to get, due to the unreasonably low drop rates. Which is usually 0.4-0.8% on the featured banner. Game is also a massive grindfest, even if you are a P2W player, payoff isn’t even worth it considering you’d need to spend thousands to be relevant. Customer service is also highly lacking in the ability to resolve issues that Gumi causes. Fun for a short while, but not really worth playing specially with other mobile games out there. If you do decide to play just don’t have any expectations for resolutions to problems, and be ready for a painstaking grind.

Wickedly Involved. Wickedly Involved

Still playing. The game just told me I’ve signed in for 1300 days now. Lol. For those with the patience to play a FF game, this is really well done, but building your team takes time. Great story they’re slowly releasing and the addition of characters from old FF games along with the music from them, is really nostalgic….. for those of us who’ve played them.

Grindy. +Voice Acting is weirdly great, impressive +Gameplay is decently fun +Good graphics, very pleasant -Starves resources, big FTP problems -Awful plot that mimics FFT with none of the depth, impact, or nuance. Drags on and on -Way, way, WAY too many flat characters who do little. Blatant copies of FFT or TO characters -Many, many resources and overcomplicated level-up systems

This game stole from persona 5. They put joker persona 5 in the game. This is a clear reference to persona 2

A great game hindered by Gumi. War of the Visions is the best free to play mobile game of its genre. It has an interesting story with cutscenes and a world that is brutal and believable, with characters that cause emotional investment. The attention to detail on the 3D models is amazing. Weapons you equip will show on the battle field, with dynamic limit bursts and skills, and solid environments. WoTv also has an interesting and easy to understand, hard to master unit progression system. Issues with the game start with the washed out/boring colors (Please increase the saturation and vividness), in game pop ups/notifications/progress missions asking you to watch ads, a cluttered menu system, an annoying camera and how blatantly the game monetizes itself and wants you to spend money by holding unit progression to monetization as well. And these are all known characteristics of gumi, its seen in Brave frontier, Alchemist code, and Brave exvius, and its a trend that needs to stop. TL;DR: Great game, lots of gatcha mechanics, needs colors to pop, Annoying tutorial, FFTactics fans will enjoy this, and its more ideal to play on a tablet or pc than a phone with a smaller screen.

Time sink not worth it. Have played this game for about 1.5 years and the state of the game is getting worse. Increased summoning to level up your champions. Need way to many hero shards to max a hero and if it’s limited if your not a whale or gacha lucky your screwed. Even your Espes require multiple to lvl up.

Awesome, but.... Awesome game. A mix of FF Tactics with FF EXVIUS, plus elements of The Alchemist Code. Downs : money disappears way too fast, and Awakening + Evolving is stupidly too costly... it WILL get me bored fast because of that, sadly.

Grainy graphics. The game runs fine but the graphics are quite grainy looking or fuzzy on my phone, may just not be built for smaller phones though.

Awesome. I love it

Data corrupts easily. As much fun as this game can be it’s too easily to have data corruption happen during updates and requiring redownload of the full data that will hang at the end, causing more corruption. This game desperately needs better data update infrastructure and a data repair function instead of only relying on redownloading everything as a fix.

Yeah. Finally.....

Way to much. I love final fantasy all the games tactics was great but this version just has way to much to it. Screens on screens on screen every 2 mins the game wants to explain more and more convoluted crap? All reminds me of sorentos pure O2 idea in ready player one. Suggest simplifying it cause I don’t have insane amounts of time to put into doing “ small things” in this game

Pay to win.. Fun game. But the chances of getting a UR are laughable. And no one wants you on their team if you don’t have any

Shame on greedy devs. Seems like a good game, but the fact that you can’t save resources to use on events makes this 100% pay to win. You can get gems to spend on summons free, but you can’t use those on events, real money gem purchases only. This is a greedy and stupid pay model, it’s been proven that games that are more generous with FTP players will get more good will and paying customers.

Bad developer. Developer actively remove ways for players to get in game currency. Horrible ideas get implemented.

Very disappointing. Low rates, low quality, very disappointing

Not pay to win at all!!. Still if your a big fan of final fantasy tactics then you should like this game, you can take almost all the knowledge you have of the original and apply it here, for example my go too unit is shadowlynx (a free character to all by the way) is a main job ninja, so naturally she is very fast, so if you use her sub job dragoon then you can have almost instant cast jump attacks which can be very good. If your looking for balance then this game is way more balanced then the original. As you can’t just making everyone dark knights for example and call it a day, everyone has a main job and 2 sub jobs to pick from while also having a limited use on skills as well making the game feel more strategic for when you should decide to use your most powerful skills instead of spamming the same move over and over again like the original. Speaking of tactics the collaboration is getting a rerun sometime this year so if your interested in picking them up I suggest to start saving currency now, as of writing this review the FFX collaboration is on the go with Titus being free UR for all. This game is definitely worth checking out, all the characters have great voice acting as well as the main story being voice acted which is really good in my opinion seeing as most games are only JP voice acted. This game also gets lots of nice updates and quality of life changes that makes the game easier to use each time, so in conclusion this game is definitely worth trying and checking out.

Linoa? Really ?. This is a good game. But that does not care for FF at all. Most recent version introduces Aquall and LINOA. This is Rinoa, people. At least, get your FFVIII names right…

Game is declining. The recent announcement to merge global and jp servers was reason enough for concern. Compounded now with lack of resources to accommodate an accelerated release schedule and overall lack of attention to a main game collaboration (FFV) is barrelling this game towards EOS and a very disgruntled player base. Do not start playing this game.

Non-existent Customer Support. I deeply regret spending any money on this game. After 2000+ days of being a loyal and paying customer, I needed help recovering my account, due to a corrupt DLC file, forcing me to delete and reinstall the app. Seems like there was also an issue with account binding and couldn’t find any of my game data. Tried contacting the support team, sent 3 emails and they ignored every single one. Thanks for giving me the reason to finally drop this game. I highly would NOT recommend this game to anyone. WORST customer service/ support ever

Not enough single player experience. This is a cool game. But it could use some more single player experience like fft campaign where you can play characters manually. Auto play is nice because you want the rewards and not always to play the game. This genre could be better if the game gave the fans what we all want. More single player campaigns that give reason to level and play the game.

Mr x.. Terrible game ran by money grubbing fiends. Customer support is down right in your face offensive. Plateaus happen fast. Pay walls hit early. Nothing like you’d expect as a fan of final fantasy games. Absolute worst one ever. Avoid at all costs.

Posted rates aren’t the actual rates.. It’s been about 6 months since I’ve gotten something new that I haven’t had to pity. I also keep getting dupes of the same UR units (8/10 UR units Rain), so the posted rates can’t be the actual rates. Really loved the game when it started out. But not getting anything new from pulls in months is tiresome.

Money money money. Just like all games on apps this is no different. With the increase in the characters lv’s means just to get to a proper lv means to spend all that cash. Doesn’t seem worth it to pick up the game.

I wish I could give Zero stars. I'm blown away by how highly rated it is... because it shouldn’t be... I've played for quite a while now since launch, I have 99 Orlandu, 99 Mediena, 99 Sterne, 89 Ramza to name a few. This game could have been great, but I feel like I'm just playing some sort of game developed by EA. The game is heavily Gatcha and RNG reliant, not to mention some of it’s party walls. There are no freebies here really... From characters that require copies to advance, to making sure you effectively choose who you want to awaken because the Rainbow Fragments are one of the rarest materials that is essential to levelling up your heroes. Weapon crafting is very complicated with some fixes in JP but not brought over on launch. Honestly the game is an intense grind. When Auto battle was introduced I had my phone running almost all day 12-15 hours on average. I was addicted with The FF franchise with FFT being one of my favourite games of all time. I played FF1 on NES and still own the cartridge for it also. Playing this game made me feel initially amazed to see a nice tactics game come out finally and see my old FFT characters truly come to life with their skills and limit breaks. But honestly it’s not an easy game to get competitive in. The drop rates for characters are abysmal with a horrible gem economy and no pity system to even attempt to get your desired heroes even if you drop 47K gems. F2P is impossible in this game truly. You’ll always be behind and you’ll never be able to feel like you can enjoy the competitive side of the game. I’d imagine it’d be no different for whales too if they have bad luck. I played FFRK for a number of years along with FFBE and DFFOO( this I’m still playing some launch) and this game feels completely butchered... I’m honestly heart broken because I want to continue to play the game but honestly it’s just not worth ruining my social life and relationships because I’m trying to keep up and grind on a second phone basically dedicated to this game. I hope this game falls off and square Enix learns from this and doesn’t ruin another great game that honestly created a lot of amazing memories for me. It’s awful feel like I was prey to the nostalgia factor here. And on top of that basically see that the negative feedback prior to global launch was all true.

Makes me want to play original tactics. I’d rather pay $30 / $40 bucks for another FFTactics. Cool concept. Sadly my time will no doubt be limited with the game. Too complicated and I really don’t want to deal with F2P bs.

F2P gacha game hidden in a FF shell. To many cons to this game and not enough pros. I’ll start off with this. Pretty smooth FFT turn based battle system. Great character models. Storyline is meh but the cut scenes keep it some what interesting. Grinding and farming mats makes lvling anything boring AF. I don’t mind working for stuff but just to upgrade one character takes weeks. Way to many chambers for this and that, spent more time flipping through tabs then actually playing the game. Banners to buy, buy, buy!! Gah we get it! Yes this how the people behind these games get payed. Unfortunately this game is pay to get there first. That being said you can slowly work your way up totally F2P. Payed and free in game currency. You can’t use the free currency to summon premium banners. Seriously DBAA. PvP needs some work. Over all it’s not fun with issues in balancing to just being bland. Turned based multiple player games are frustrating and sleepy. Worst way to farm. Really wanted to like this game but just couldn’t.

Please fix. Level 140 now? This game needs a reboot or overhaul to make it back to level 99 like the original tactics. It’s a shameful attempt to replicate the game, the rates and monetization are ridiculous. Been playing since launch and I only log in to collect shards, chocobo, and maybe progress the story if a new unit needs more currency to buy, usually able to save up to 40k visoire for the unit I want when it comes around, but I refuse to put any more money in, till they do some fine polishing and tuning, they should also add Mercenary units that you can name yourself like the old games.

Having fun. Not best game ever made or even best mobile game on my phone but I’m having fun prolly not for everyone tho

offerwall. Do something or the game will literally die from the offer wall shenanigans.

Exploitative gatcha garbage. A bunch of the banners you can ONLY USE PAID CRYSTALS! It's only day one, but Square should be ashamed of themselves for this. Play Dissidia Final Fantasy : Opera Omnia instead. It is very generous with crystals, the devs care and the community is helpful. Save your time and money.

Crash crash and more crash. Been crashing the last few weeks with no fix being done. Get your act straight SE and gumi!

One star for the story line it’s the only thing worth a star in the entire game. The main story is the only thing worth getting a star when using certain characters abilities the rate in which they actually activate is very low I’ve been using the same abilities in the game trying to get them to work at all is worse than pulling teeth that don’t need to be pulled. In other words the ability don’t work and there’s no point in having them but these abilities work for other characters that you play against it’s rigged and you don’t get fair play treatment it’s only fair if the abilities actually work for everyone the same but they don’t

Veteran of 2.5 years. I’ve been playing Final Fantasy WOTV for over two and a half years - all F2P - and it’s been as fun as ever! The generosity of Hiroki has kept our guild and community going strong, and we hope it continues strong for the future ahead.

TAC Clone with worse monetization. This game is a clone of “The Alchemist Code” and the monetization is the same or even worse! The rate to get a ULTRA RARE (arguably always the best characters) is 2% PER PULL. To make these units even META, you need multiple copies of them! ALSO keep in mind you can get “Cards” in your normal pulls so your chance of getting the UR you WANT us even slimmer! Don’t play this game with their terrible monetization! they will powercreep until your starter units are useless and they have split pulls for “paid” and “free” gems and they’ll make exclusive content to incentivize paying.

Game of the Year. The play style is epic, and the stunning animation of the skills absolutely deserves a 5 star rating. I highly recommend it. Definitely one of the nominated Game of the Year competitor!

An alchemist code reskin. Nothing to see here. Just another case of GUMI milking the FF fanbase dry to a husk, involved with gatcha rigged rates and lots of predatory tactics that DEVALUE your gaming experience, at least if you’re not constantly throwing money at the game to excuse its poor state and presentation for “progression”. This is actually pretty insulting and I’m ashamed to have even considered clicking the download button. End of the line GUMI. I’m boycotting everything under you from now on.

More expensive P2W trash. Have been looking forward to this game release for awhile. Deleting with an hour played. Game already pushing form purchases. Plus the first huge slap is the cash currency earned in game is separated into “free” and “paid”. The good summons are all in the paid catergory and any of the crystals(Visors or w/e they are called). Meaning the cash currency you grind for in game can only be used in lesser summon banners and the good banners can only be done with real money. Oh and it’s like $30+ for a 10 summon spin which is ridiculously expensive. Off to delete this trash on hour one.

What a shame. Why does this have to be on mobile with bad gacha bs… 😣 I’d much rather see this game on something like the Nintendo Switch with a fixed price and proper game mechanics. I can’t play this game like this and it’s sad…

Amazing game !!. Don’t know why I see poor reviews lol I’ve been day one player and I have URS that are meta and are maxed out and yet never paid for a single thing lol the improvements they made over three years make the game a little better each time…the story is good as well so just enjoy it !! Limit units are the only downfall of this game..if you really want a limited unit you gotta save big time like a few months ahead(that’s if you are free to play) to be the unit and you may not even get it then you gotta wait however long for the unit to come back and to get the shards for a limited unit are gone when the banner is gone :( anyways good game!good story! Ps I got the ur units from the original tactics ;) Join my guild if there’s an opening. CanadianCrew

Day one grab. You may think I mean that you should grab the game, but no. I actually mean that the Gumi is at it again. Terrible start with a day one cash grab. “Paid” currency and “free” currency make it a pay to win game, as the paid summons are infinitely better than the free ones. No amount of grinding will get you close to the whales in this one, so unless you are willing to fork up a lot of cash over time, don’t even bother.

Worse than gambling. This game was super enjoyable when it first launched, and was my main mobile game for months. It’s such a shame to leave such a low review, but everyone saying that the devs are money hungry is an understatement. The story of the game is super long, and unfortunately those that may enjoy it now and probably got thrown a ton of free visoire and items for upgrades to start with. Those resources dry up very quickly once you start to understand just how far behind the curve you get trying to stay F2P. You will also soon see just how impossibly hard it is to upgrade your UR characters. Limited time characters are the name of the game and how they make their money because of the amount of effort needed to fully level just a single UR is seriously pure insanity. You can’t even save up resources to level good characters with the chance you’ll get them. Any MR, SR, and R characters may as well not exist. They eventually just become useless as the power creep even in the story mode is so massive between acts. FFT being my absolute favorite game of all time, the fact that they allowed Gumi to even do this sort of injustice on a series loved by so many is such an absolute disgrace.

I love this game , but.... I’ve been a player for around 230+ days by now and I can say this game is “fun”, but the grind that is to come in the future is going to ruin all F2P and casual spenders experience. When the EX jobs come, you’ll need to put literally your heart , soul and wallet because otherwise most players won’t be able to play the pvp and probably the highest difficulty quest. This makes me sad because like I said I love this game and I’ve spent around $300, but when this changes come I will probably stop pouring money into it. Hopefully, some developer will understand the community concern and will make some changes , so the game can be still be fun and playable.

So much potential, so many turn-offs. I don’t mind a little gacha. I can handle a few different menus and currencies. Here’s where you lost me: auto-play garbage that has no place in gaming, overwhelming number of pop ups on login, confusingly insane amount of currencies and overly complex progression. Take a note from Genshin Impact on your next game. Those guys know how to make a mobile game that doesn’t feel like it’s being unnecessarily complex, has a lot of substance, and doesn’t feel like it only exists to entice you to spend money at every corner. It’s too late for this game to feel that way. It could have been something with so much more substance but it’s just whale bait I’m afraid. Sadly, this does not matter to the devs or publisher because the goal is to make money, not long lasting endearment to the FF franchise.

Overwhelmingly Disappointing. This game like Final Fantasy Tactics could have been a lot of fun. Instead the game is basically a mash up of button smashing garbage fights that encourages you to Auto instead of actually playing content. Not kidding about the Auto. Literally from the first matches you are encouraged to auto. Pvp duels are also full Auto until you unlock matches. Multiplayer content even two weeks into the game is overpowered whales running Auto on a specific mage character everyone rerolled for since she is stupid strong. Leveling up your characters is a grind fest even for those who spend money daily. It’s not worth listing more. Just avoid the game. It’s a money grab and reskinning of a precious Gumi title. Feel sorry for folks who are spending to much time on this one. Pick a game with content you actually play.

One issue. I want to love this game so much. FFT was one of my all time favorite games, and this does the original justice. My problem is the events allow you to summon a monster, but once the event is over, you can’t continue to get items you need for the mob. A good example. I got orlandeau from an event, but it took forever to summon him. When I did there wasn’t much time left on the event and I didn’t get enough unit shards to complete his limit break. Now I have a unit I can’t complete. It’s frustrating and makes me unmotivated to play. No point if I can’t complete my favorite characters. Other than that it’s a solid game. Plenty of content. Challenging. It would be a 5* if not for that one issue.

Meh. It's a beautiful game, don't get me wrong. The FFT combat features mixed with the brave ex collection style bring something to the table for pulling it out on a break and doing a battle or two. However, my biggest problem so far is that the ability to summon using the visior currency is broken. Some items will not work with the visior you already have. The game expects that you can only buy the summon with bought visior. For instance, the UR summon x10 costs 2000 vis, and I have 5000 vis saved up, the game will recognize that I have the 5000 but will not let me buy the summon unless I buy the 2000 vis with real world money. This makes the vis you earn in game worthless. Sure you can use it for lesser summons and maybe you get lucky and get a UR summon, but your vis earned in game should be able to make the same purchases your bought vis can.

Has some excellent aspects. I am really enjoying the game and I’m actually even reading/listening to the story line for once in a mobile game. While overall I love this game the P2W aspect is very apparent and the money drain to get special limited units is a bit crazy. It’s practically impossible get a max level limited unit without spending anything. And what’s with the paid crystal pulls vs free crystal pulls? It shouldn’t matter. FYI, I do spend money on these games but all I can say is even COM2US games feel more generous than this one. I’m going to keep playing to see how things unfold but for now, my pocket book will be going towards other games/things.

I’m forced to change my review…again.. I’ve been playing this game since week one, got it installed on multiple devices (iPad and phone) so I can play on a bigger screen if I wish. But this latest collab is a spit in the face of FF fans. An influencer, seriously?! Someone I had to look up and found nothing but stupid videos with some of her twerking and another with some guy signing her bared chest. Are you kidding me, Gumi?! Over a dozen possibilities with FF collab potential alone, dozens of options with other SE series (you did Xenogears in FFBE not that long ago for crying out loud!). I’m uninstalling it on one device and this game will be nothing more than a “log in to get my daily sign in stuff and log out” game for me until this stupid collab is over, but I vow to never spend another dollar on this game after this insult.

Hyper monitized and gated. Not really a surprise but most things are locked behind paid currency as opposed to using one form of gem. Problem this causes us you ultimately won’t be able to upgrade your units as you won’t get enough materials even with moderate investment. They basically want you paying out hundreds of dollars a month if you want to progress and use new units. Even that one game you see the constant adds for doesn’t gate you this hard on character progression. The last few content updates have required maxed out characters which means everyone except the super whales are not able to complete the missions let alone have any hope of farming. See above for the issue with raising units. Power creep is also pretty insane so you will see most multi rooms disband unless you bring the 1-2 most OP heroes. Another itemization gripe, if you upgrade your guild statues with a certain currency the game will swap to the “gem” currency between clicks so if you rapidly click you will end up wasting your gems by accident (super scum bag feature btw guys). The above issues aside I think the game is a lot of fun, it has the potential to be one of the best hero collectors out there but it needs some quality of life improvements.

Farmville for just meta PVP (pure powercreep). This game will consume so much of your life/time/money for little satisfaction in return. Unlike FFBE, you won’t be able to enjoy your unit roster to fight bosses and earn great rewards. Their raid system is just terrible even with the late QoL updates they have been releasing to global while JP has them applied months ahead of GL. Just like every other gacha game they have UR units but on top of that they have Premium Units which are basically pay to win to guarantee you wont lose to free to play, which also costs DOUBLE the cost on top of the really low rates of UR units. Multiplayer feature is just plain toxic and have no control over team killing people on purpose or other griefing tactics on top of 3rd party bot users which aren’t banned from the game. Also players have resorted to only following viable units for multiplayer farming making it so disappointing for the rest of the player base to take part in. Future maps & battles are designed to compliment unit banners to bait players into pulling but becomes useless again because of this endless cycle until they become viable for the map. AI is really stupid even after the QoL changes and designed to influence the current meta & compliment the new units as well.

Developer greed at its finest. It seems like the developers double down on their greed once every six months. Quite frankly it’s disgusting. If I wasn’t so desperate for a new Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre I probably wouldn’t play at all. But in spite of that the story is actually really good, the graphics are great and the play style is not bad. In fact the latest update has added another level of greed and I’m pretty sure they’ve secretly lowered the ur odds again. The company actually got sued by the Japanese government for violating laws related to odds in the Japanese version. Even though I’ve played daily since launch I’ve reached the point that I’ve decided to uninstall because I realized that I had come to hate the game because of how disgusting the devs are. Goodbye WOTV I’ll never spend another dime on you…

Good gameplay, unfair business tactics. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to in this case. You’ll play for awhile and earn gems, and you’ll get excited “oh sweet, i can finally afford that ultra rare summon.” except... once you get there you find out there is a difference between “paid” gems and “free” gems. It gets worse. I go to the store to find out how much real money those 2,000 gems would cost me. FORTY DOLLARS. $40. For, again, the SAME gems I already had 2,000 of. It’s a real shame this game employs such underhanded practices to try and extort money from people. Essentially, hooking you with initial gameplay and free offers to only make you realize later you have to spend a lot of money to keep up to date and competitive

Great potential but a sad copy. I loved the old final fantasy tactics but this is a poor copy of that. For the first day I thought this would be amazing but sadly it was not to be so. I downloaded the game expecting a tactical game but in the end you really didn’t need tactics at all. The characters are way more powerful than needed so you can pick any and straight up beat the enemy into the ground. The game focuses on getting higher level characters through pay for play instead of winning using tactics. The final straw for me was when they differentiate between purchased gems and gems you earned for some drawings. You can put all the time and effort in the world into the game but they will give the advantage to the guy who gives them the money. This is pretty on the outside but ugly the longer you play it. I ended up deleting this and went back to the original ff tactics

P2W at its finest. This is a very good FF game as long as you do not play the arena and the guild part. Regular resources provided is more than sufficient to carry you through the story (not a complete story yet, coming out in pieces like most titles). However, significant amount of money (think in terms of hundreds, thousands if your luck is not so good) is necessary for the remaining content. Your “free” (still need a lot grinding) units will get melted by your opponents, and there is nothing you can do about it other than open up your wallets. Given the current trend in mobile gaming, I’d say this is probably the best we can get, and hopefully you can find my two cents here helpful for your WOTV journey.

Not really worth it.. Being that this game is a gacha style and being that the owner of the game is more oriented towards money not quality. This games worth dies out once you complete EVERYTHING! Played for a good 2 weeks and did every challenge, quest and all other things that would provide visore or materials. Once you’ve done everything, the “free2play” sense ends there! If you wish to level up, you need to pay for materials. You need to pay for visore. Unfortunately, you can’t do much anything else once you complete everything without any visore. Forcing you to pay or just uninstall the game. Most people haven’t finished the game to see what I mean and others, who have an addiction to these games, wont care and spend happily without noticing how much they spend. Just like FFBE, this company only wants money, they could give two craps about the game. As long as they hook the people who are easily addicted, they know they can make a lot of money.

Extremely bloated item and progression system. No tactics required.. Everything from leveling characters to gear requires literally a dozen or more different KINDS of items, and may require dozens of not hundreds in quantity for many of those items. Every character has three jobs, all need to be leveled separately requiring those many kinds of items. Leveling them unlocks more abilities on a job mode board, but need JP which is yet another farmed thing to unlock the board. But then you only get the level 1 version of that ability and need even more resources to raise the individual ability levels. The amount you need to keep up with and grind for even one character is staggering, and that’s one character out of five to a party, and there are 8 different element types you’ll want to build parties for. Battles have almost no tactics to them at all. 9/10 you are going to be overpowered or underpowered. This is a bloated game with a horrible design for leveling and progressing characters. If there’s meaningful balanced gameplay in this game anywhere, I have no idea where it is or how people use it. Graphics are decent, character design is solid, and it does have a story. It has positives but I’m just not sure they’re worth it or that they save the game from its own terrible progression systems.

Mixed bag about this game. I am a big fan well known company Squaresoft since I was kid then future changed to now. About this game i was curious to try it Then I decided to give some criticism for you to know about this game. This game gives me unimpressive results. Poor battle flows and special moves arts. Tedious battle style drain my motivation out fast and no feel for this game. Lot of features all over the screen. It ain’t even close to Langrisser game. Very expensive game to purchase for gacha (Summons). Heavy grinding game takes many countless hours to build up heroes stats and so on. In conclusion about this disappointing game, I stopped playing due to heavy crashes every 5 min especially after battles completion even tho I kept playing for another half n hour to get the feel of it but failed to meet my expectation. If you are curious about this game too, go and try it for yourself in hour playing time. It won’t hurt your time lol.

Good on you SE!. I am a long time fan of the FF games! I have been playing this for a while now and the game continues to get better and gain more depth. It may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but the availability to play as much as you want, whenever you want is there. It is completely manageable to play without spending. There is enough content in the PVE alone for 100+ hours of entertainment. The nostalgia is great! I always look forward to the addition of characters and slightly more enhanced mechanics with every update. I do spend some money here and there, but I have no problem supporting a developer that keeps content fresh.

How about fixing the original FF Tactics on Iphone/pad?. I mean this a good gatcha game that will no doubt attract whales to pay to win. Why not use all that money to fix the issues on the IPad and IPhone versions of the original War of the Lions game. It’s ridiculous that both versions of Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions and The World Ends With You are bug filled messes. Fix your games Sqaure Enix! You owe all of your fans that much! That being said, this game is still a decent follow up to the original classic on PS1 and Gameboy Advance. You can advance far and have a good time without spending a time.

Can’t even play. Downloaded the game, played through tutorial. Now I’m forever stuck on the opening touch to start screen. No matter how many times I tap the screen to start it does absolutely nothing. Support button doesn’t work either. I’ve even gone and uninstalled and reinstalled the game and I’m still experiencing the same issue. Although reading through the reviews it doesn’t look like I’m missing much if purchase someone’s are equivalent to $40+. I can purchase a new or used game for that price and have everything included and not pay $40+ per special character event. So no thanks. Never got to play and honestly don’t want to. Games broken and sounds like it costs a fortune if you want to enjoy it. I’m sure most of these “absolutely incredible truly free to play” reviews are bots so the app doesn’t look bad. Don’t download it, not worth your time and you won’t get to play it anyways

Haven’t stopped playing. This game has steadily improved with several QoL enhancements. The value per dollar is steadily declining but it’s not outrageous as the drop rates for summons are quite elevated sometimes you will pull two units on a collab on one summon, like I just did. Notwithstanding, there is quite a lot to do and the story is captivating after chapter one. The pvp segment is being improved and expanded with both community and company sponsored events. It’s worth playing but it does start off slow. This game can be challenging and require you to play manually if you are seeking to obtain specific titles and/or quest rewards.

Thoroughly Impressed!. I have to say being a fan of previous FFT titles, this preserved the climate of a Tactics game down to the faint voices when characters die! Love the dialogue, the artwork is stunning, and there are a TON of options for content. Will warn that this game isn’t for the financially challenged, so if you like a game that doesn’t have a pay wall (what game doesn’t these days?) this isn’t for you. Even then with the celebration opener being held, you can easily max out a until that can carry through beginner endgame content. People complaining about how they have to pay to unlock the full spectrum of the game are just looking for a free handout, to be honest.

A wonderful exhibit but a greedy grab.. I have played all of the Final fantasy tactics and I can say with confidence this is a great addition. But it’s going to be lower on the list of the better final fantasy tactics. I’ve played gacha games and I can tell you that there is a massive paywall to fully enjoy this game to its full potential. Not only that, the use of ads to gameplay is quite invasive and ruins the intimacy and breaks the immersion. I’m all for supporting the team’s paycheck. They deserve it but there is a fine line between deserved and predation. I’m in agreement with a lot that this game would’ve been better as a fleshed out console game but it’s ruined by the greed of the mobage market and that make this game’s rating a short of fantastic 5/5.

Intuitive, exciting, and addicting!. This game a thrill! I’m constantly trying out new games to see what I would play consistently, and WOTV thoroughly takes the cake! Constant new events, interactive to each character, it isn’t like any of those FTP card RPGs. You really get to build your own squads and control each character of you choose! I have played everyday since it was released globally, even if it was just to capture daily missions! I’m not a Whale in this game, playing just by the resources provided, and I’ve never felt so hindered by it! It’s a success in my opinion and I can’t wait to see how much further this game goes! Thank you so much! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Account Binding. On their support page they state that once an account is bound it cannot be deleted or unbinded. However, about a week ago I encountered some sort of bug where in the game I was asked to update the game, so I click update and it takes me here to the app and just says Open instead of update. It takes me back into the game only to say that I need to update it again. My account is binded to my Apple account or rather it was. So I delete the app and reinstall to just load my stuff up again accept for when I went to do it, it says “No game account detected.” I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on this account and I now no longer have access to it or anything because of some bug. Support has said they’ve been trying to fix it for a week now and I honestly don’t believe it. In all the gacha games I’ve played I have never experienced a scenario where my account has been severed from what I binded it with.

Really great game but have an issues. As stated above, I’m so very happy to see FF tactics being reborn in something, but I do have a concern: My primary concern comes with the limited times you can do the daily resource farms. I’m ok with them being limited and I understand that their there to keep you coming back each day, but what bothers me is that they are limited but it also depletes you’re stamina for the day...I don’t think that really right and kind of feels like a trap of sorts, because after you complete it for the first time you get no rank xp or any means to replenish it and trust me there’s A LOT of daily dungeons. (If you do all three tries, you lost 24 stamina total. Typically that’s 1/4 your stamina gauge for only 3 tries at 1 dungeon..) Too me, that’s just discouraging?

Okay game. This game is fun. The story is amazing. I love the grimy aspect of the game and having to constantly grind to get better. I however gave it the 2 stars because of the greediness of the gacha system. I have invested quite a bit of money in this game. At first it seemed worth it and seems to reward me however when it comes to paying 40$ for a chance at a UR character one time is so ridiculous. A console game is 60$ and for a chance at a decent character one time is 40... not to mention you have to get more duplicates or spend more gems for refreshes to max that character. My last straw was recently when I spent so much visiore, like 40-50k and got 1 or 2 ur things total. That to me killed the game for me. Don’t get into this game unless you plan to just play super casually and free and don’t expect to maximize the good units unless you give this greedy company tons of your money.

Great game, not as good as ffbe. I played ffbe every day for like 3 years until war of the visions came out. I have played WOTV everyday since. It took the original many many years before they jumped from 5 star units to 6 star units, to 7 star units and then EX units. WOTV is at a year in and they are already at the “7 star” stage with the 120 level characters and 3 star espers. It is impossible with this current trajectory for free to play to compete at the same level as pay to win. So instead of trying to stay on the same level as the ptw folks, I have more freedom to max out my Sterne and do other non efficient things and just have fun with the game.

Great addition to FF series. Really great. Glad to have a new tactics game to play. The mechanics are fine except with some units/skills being worthless under auto fight (but developers said they will fix in April 2020). I find it so funny how people complained about a paywall. It’s not that bad people! Compared to other games (esp CHN RPGs), this is nowhere near P2W. I just played a week without paying, and I’m fine. People are so whining and want like level 99 within a day. Plus, it takes hundreds of thousands if not millions to make a game at this quality. How the heck are they gonna make money if you don’t give them like a couple of dollars. People don’t think. Selfish. It takes a lot of work to make something like this.

UPDATED: Binding is not cool.. UPDATED: I just learned today. I had to play continue on same account (no setup) on both devices. All is good. ;) FAQ mentioned per account, per device. Before I didn’t know that, I just downloaded the app in iPhone and iPad. I did first set up account on my iPad. Then I tried to setup same account on my iPhone but it is binding (locked). Now I’m stuck with iPad. I can’t play WOTV on iPhone whenever I’m outside. Not cool, not smart strategy. I don’t want to create two accounts. I want one account that shares with both iPad and iPhone. Doing two accounts waste my time.

This is definitely a pay to play game. If you hope for any character advancement, you had better be prepared to spend vast amounts of time and/or money to get the absurd amount of items to level up and develop your characters. The amount of items in this game is ridiculous. It has beautiful graphics and that old tactics feel, with that modern capitalist twist. Instead of adjusting the mechanics of the game they just give you a “ton” of free stuff in game as compensation. But once you delve deeper, the extreme amount of compensation that has been handed out doesn’t even scratch the surface of what is required to make the game enjoyable. Please Gumi, instead of wasting time on this game please invest more time and development into FFBE (it’s an impeccably amazing game) , which has been extremely neglected due to this pet project of a game. I don’t recommend this (WOTV) game to anyone.

Great but, sadly, that’s it.. I really, really wanted to love this game as I’m a fan of FFT’s story, and when I downloaded it I instantly loved the art, music and the UI’s classic style. ...But this kind of slow paced, strategic gameplay just doesn’t feel well suited for a f2p with iap game. You start noticing this when you’re given not only characters and weapons, but also visions and shards and souls and monsters and who-knows-what-elses that come out of a summon. Then there’s upgrading each unit: you’ve got enhance, and awaken, and jobs, and crafting and all of them require more of these materials to get stronger, and while the game offers ways to get them, you can of course buy them to skip all that, which makes the pay2win line pretty darn notable. Finally, what made me uninstall was noticing the free “paid currency” (I’ll call them crystals) you get in this game isn’t even the real paid currency, as there’s some things you can only buy with actually bought crystals, not the ones you obtain by progressing and completing challenges. If that’s not a red flag right there, I don’t know what is. I’m still giving it 4 stars, as the game feels polished and well crafted... But I know I won’t enjoy it with all these faults.

It’s good the game. I highly recommend it. Tutorials are really good guide especially for beginners just like me . Didn’t expect this game that gives us UR right away but it help alot through the story. Now for the logins it’s really a good start for a beginner, the material you need shards and etc, nothing like other games they give less but this game gives me a lot which is really good start as a beginner which is why I don’t need to spend anything. And lastly the game is sure getting Harder and the story of the enemy is sure getting stronger thats why I think this game is surely needs plenty of grinding to do. Good thing there’s skip tickets so we won’t need to wait . Helps a lot for faster grinding the material u need.

Dying game due to price manipulation. New players be warned. Since couple of patches in 2023, there’s clearly a marketing strategy in play to setup price traps to boost revenue. The details of the changes are so complex that it’s difficult for veteran players to put it into words. Many games charge lots of money, but the way this game is setup, it requires players to pay extra attention on each resource they spend in the game so they won’t get tricked into a bad deal. It makes the experience extremely stressful to go through and it felt like the developers know they can do it because they can rely on final fantasy nostalgia to earn revenue. The game play saw very minimal changes, instead focuses on areas that gets players excited to pull for units that cost money without offering any new additional contents. Just check out the WOTV community posts to learn about what happened, and you’ll just see a lot of angry cap letters.

Where’s the negative star rating?. As a longtime fan, I’m disappointed. The game is decent enough if taken for what it is. But everything else is disappointing, and you should play prepared to leave with a foul taste in your mouth about the company and its practices. They will attempt to get cash from you in every way imaginable. Update: It’s a little better if you are willing to spend the time still costs a lot. However, for a game that is such a cash sucking game the developer(s) (I think maybe there is more than one?) sure do take a long time to fix glitches/bugs/or address problems. They took a good couple of months to address a graphics error that made users have to rescroll every time they bought something. Currently, the game freezes and crashes pretty consistently to the point many people just give up trying to get in and do anything.

Pornographic!. First I want to say that I was very excited to play a well made tactical game. It looks great, however, less than five minutes into the game I was given a female character that had one of her breasts completely exposed other than the nipple was strategically covered by the battle graphics. I understand that a little sex appeal sometimes helps developers sell a game, though I personally don’t like that content in my games, but this goes WAY over that line. I’m disgusted with Square Enix. This is offensive to me and as a parent I’m a little concerned that more isn’t being done to keep this kind of content away from kids. This is rated 12+ how??? I’d be horrified to find this kind of content on my 14 year old son’s phone! I’ve played a lot of Final Fantasy games over the years, but never again. I’ll also make sure my kids never download anything from Square Enix. How has this great company sunk to this this level?

Good but grabby. Signed up for this game before launch cause it had everything I’ve been looking for in a fantasy tactics game forever. When I finally started playing it was great, good tactics easy to understand lvling system and it seemed to be generous with the RNG... but it was all a lie. Once the FF Tactics collab event was released I wanted to get Orlandeu but saw his drop rate is 0.08% UNDER ONE FREAKING PERCENT! And to buy gems to do a ten grab cost $40 bucks a pop... but the worst thing THE WORST THING is you can’t even share farm characters to unlock them and they don’t tell you that so I’ve spent all my in game currency and some of my own money collecting shards I MAY NEVER GET TO USE! I’m trying to like this game but they need to change their policies cause what it seems like to me is they just want to rip off hard core final fantasy fans like me

technological flubb. This is great but literally unplayable unless you have active internet. This is a huge mistake in modern gaming and will be the downfall. I shouldn’t be forced to update my game to play it. Stop basing games and things off of technology that we don’t even have a way to keep going. If electricity goes out this is all gone, all of it, but that’s okay? No it’s not. Stop making things that can only exist within the internet, because the internet is not always going to be there, can and will fail, and even currently isn’t accesible by a lot of people consistently. Otherwise fantastic game

Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It’s hard to get a limited edition unit for example “warrior of light” to max lvl 99 without paying considering you have to get that ultra rare with 2% and then do event quest to get the same unit shards only around 50 shards available. You need 600 shards to max an unit lvl. If you summon 2 UR of the same unit “warrior of light,” you get the unit and 40 unit shards! But you only have a duration of 2 weeks to get 600 unit shards! Because “warrior of light” is limited unit! The event exchange shop have the shard which cost 20 event coins! Those coins can only be collected via summoning from the event banners! You get 100 via 10 summons. About 100 of 10 summons and do event quests to get your unit to max lvl 99. My Warrior of light hardstuck at lvl 74 with 120 unit shards used on it!

Can’t play it. This game wasted a couple hours of my time and I didn’t even get to play it. Every time its long download would finish I would get an error stating parts of the download failed. I deleted the files at the start screen twice and tried to re-download but got the same error both times. I deleted the whole app twice and completely re-installed + patched and still got the same error. I’m on a stable wifi and I’ve never had this issue with other games. I have an iphone 14 pro max with a ton of space. This error is obviously on the developer side and I won’t waste any more time on it. If it was a brand new game I may understand, but after a quick google search it seems this issue has been unresolved for years. It may be a decent FF Tactics game, but I couldn’t tell you. 1/5 stars is generous for my experience.

Incredible game but... I’ve been playing this game since launch and the community is great and the game is phenomenal but the greed $$$ is burning the trust of the players and making people shut their wallets. Gumi needs to listen to the community if it wants to keep people playing or new players joining Gumi needs to make people WANT to spend money. Give us more pack H and pack F. Do BETTER packs than those packs. Make dolphins want to be whales for a week. Make minnows want to be dolphins and make F2P players WANT to spend a dollar. The normal visiore packs are just there for whales or to try to make a quick buck off a player who isnt going to stick around. Thats not sustainable. There is no healthy "middle class". Its just whale milking. Gumi needs to SLOW DOWN the release of the 100 cost units. This goes along with the idea of fostering a healthy middle class in the game. After September they need to chill. Gumi needs to have discounted banners for old units, especially old collab units. (get those F2P players excited about pulling for their boy cecil, or Cloud, or ramza... yknow the characters they like from FF titles that are timelocked for no reason?) There ya go Gumi, just did more for you than whatever business school genius sold you on the tiktok collab.

Ruining Experience w Too Much. I would gladly pay a subscription for FFT with multiplayer mode and a good main quest. Or purchase new seasons of content, however you want to structure it. Menu: I’ve just finished (one?) of the tutorial modes and I already have: 20+ characters of various rarity in my party, no concept of what the basic job classes are, limit breaking (gross) of characters that’s separate from their lv, limit breaking of weapons (cmon), enchantable entry level weapons, about 15 stores, no towns or map. Companies like Square Enix and Camelot used to produce beautifully simple games with one or two aspects of complexity, not 30. I wouldnt put up w this complexity on a computer screen, let alone on a phone. Garbage. Battle: Again, why do non-elemental units (e.g. humans) need an element? Why is weapon weakness not tied to job class - is it just random? The algorithm for calculating range (e.g throw stone) seems off. Can’t knockback characters off cliffs - a delight.

Great game! And a tip for newbies. Your main focus is to roll for Mediena the Ice Mage. Easier to use her to farm. Each characters have different element attributes. Focus on one ice element such as Mediena for her Awakening. The items for the awakening are very limited. If you spend it on another character such as Gilgamesh which is a ice element. You might face difficulties unless your willing to spend a bit of money instead of being free to play. For more infor just join re-ddit forums. I love this game and it remind me of final fantasy tactics. And the story line is voice and awesome. Don’t let the gatcha system get in your way. You can still have fun as a free to play player.

Almost Perfect. The game has all the makings of a great game. Good story, beautiful graphics with an almost drawn look, and an in depth mechanics. I love playing it and will continue to do so. Now comes the only downside. It is a very money hungry game. The gotcha rates at very bad 2% for the highest rarity and once you get the units the cost to max them is very high. You can be f2p but you will never compete with those that spend money to speed advancement. You can beat all on game content such as story with very basic units but if you want to complete on PVP or PVE you will be stomped into the dirt. That said I will continue to play because the developers do listen to their fan base and they are pretty generous with free stuff. Just don’t expect to be pulling the best stuff on a regular basis.

For Final Fantasy Tactics lovers!. Amazing game. Period. I only wish the character grind wasn’t so punishing. Especially for certain units. Gilgamesh, Dark Sterne, and even the “Holy Knight” are insane to limit break. I can’t even get his shards anymore. I have to wait until the next banner?! And 1x shard a day for some units....even 2x shards a day is terrible. You find yourself not even logging in to play, but to login, grab shards, then logout. There needs to be a better system. When you FINALLY gets passed the insane leveling grinds and get some units to lvl99, that’s when the fun really starts. Just be prepared for months upon months of grinding 5x units at a time. In about a year you should be lvl with semi ok gear lol.

My experience was ruined. I was addicted to this game for a while. To give you a perspective, I had Engelbert, Sir Owe, Mont, Ramada, and Vallaide all at Lvl 50 until when I tried to go back on it. Apparently I had a corrupted save file. It said I had to reconnect it so I let it do it’s thing until 15 minutes later when it told me my save file was deleted. I was also at Chapter 7 which is notable and I was in a Silver guild. Then I deleted the game and redownloaded it on a cloud, and it told me that my save file was gone and I had to restart. Devs, what the hell? I played your game, and now I lost all of my progress. I went to my friends who recommended it to me because I love FFTactics, and apparently the same is happening to them. So Devs, please get back and tell me what is going on, and is there a way we can fix this? If I got hacked that’s Sqex’s fault and I want answers.

Patience is the key!. Hi everyone! First of all i’ve been hearing some bad reviews regarding the gacha pull, the key here is patience. I install this game at the start of january and ever since i’ve been collecting daily rewards check in for a total of 91 days. I dont play it yet because i have another games to play, i saved 25,000 thousand diamonds and i use them every time there is a unit i want to summon. Believe me i got ramza, orlandeu, the king and the twin brothers as well and lucia aswell for free. So don’t say it’s a bad game because of gacha pull believe me it’s a matter of luck and patience. With this kind of game that is really worth it and don’t have to spend money. Trust me you won’t regret downloading this game🤗

5.0.1 crashes at login. Idk what bugs they fixed at 5.0.0, everything worked perfect for me, but with the update of 5.0.1, I can not login anymore. It crashes at the login/account binding process, I emailed them a million times and nothing has been fixed yet. I tried to download and delete the app on both of my iPhone and iPad and it’s been the same, I even switched to a different region App Store to get it and still the same so it has to be the version issue… So basically anyone just download it and trying to login with existed google or Facebook account will have the crash problem. Fix it asap pls

Just like Final Fantasy tactics for the Gameboy but better!!!. My all time favorite game was FFTA for the gameboy advance and when I found this app it was like re-living those same childhood memories!! My opinion is that the developers did an awesome job with the rewards system and there is so much to do in the game that it just reels you back in daily just to collect rewards and get farther in the game. So far I haven’t spent no money on the game only because the rewards given exceeds more than you even need to progress. Thank you for creating such an awesome game and I’m sure more people that are fans of Final Fantasy series would agree with me!

Well made game, but.... I’m a fan of final fantasy. I’m a fan of tactics. I enjoying playing a good gotcha game also. This game is well done and is decently done. Quality is very high for a mobile game. My big issue is the limited summon character progression. I pulled an ur character I wanted and took some time off. I came back only to find out I was almost completely blocked from progressing that character because they locked his upgrade materials and shards to his event only. (Which I missed). This is dumb and I should not be punished for wanting to pull a limited summon. No reason to completely lock a character’s progression.
