Good app, but could be better. My husband and I use this app to keep track of our dog. A previous version let multiple people contribute, but this one does not.

Not impressed & bummed with new software. They cannot import my data from previous version to the new one. I have to manually type in all my entries to the new one. They do give you a zip file but that’s it. They switched us over without giving us a choice to new one without having a solution for our existing data.

Really helpful and easy to use!. My fiancé and I recently got a puppy. The app has been really helpful for tracking his eating and eliminating patterns. Easy to use, gives nice stats, and syncs well between us. Definitely recommend!

New puppy. We have a new puppy and after three days of not knowing what he needed when. We got this app! It’s been super helpful to see patterns. The only thing I’d say would be helpful would be to be able to look at multiple stats on the same plot such as pee and drink!

Essential for puppy pawrents 🐶. Anytime a friend that’s about to be a new dog parent asks for “essential puppy” item recommendations I always tell them the Dog Assistant app is a must have. Well worth paying for to have a seamless mobile tracker of everything related to your furry family. Exceptional customer experience!

Easy to use, simple to understand. We got our puppy 3 days ago and I have tracked his activities religiously. The app is very easy to use. I would purchase again. SUGGESTIONS TO THE CREATOR: There are some features that have some room for improvement. 1. The remind feature only offers remind daily rather than weekly, monthly, or on some other specific rotating schedule. 2. In addition to a text message it would be nice if a reminder pops up when you open the app and asks if you’d like to add that event to the activity log. This would cut down on manually entering events that happen frequently. 3. It would be nice if there was a duplicate event to quickly add an event that has special notes that way we don’t have to retype them. For example, I include how much and what toppers I feed my dog at each meal in the notes section. Rather than typing that out every night, I would like to open the previous days entry and duplicate it only changing the date and time if necessary. This goes the same with medicines as I add dosage in the notes each time (duplicating work twice a day, every day for the whole medication cycle). ** Please add to the android market as well **

Ok but could be a lot better. This is a useful app but would be a lot better with some basic improvements - easier ways to log events (currently multiple clicks involved) and ways to view patterns across different event types.

Helpful but lacking. While there are some good features - tracking, vaccinations - there are some features lacking that would make this a more comprehensive app. 1. Being able to schedule monthly/quarterly reminders to remember heartworm/flea & tick medications that need to be taken monthly/every 3 months. 2. Being able to track vet visits, including weight, vaccinations, items discussed, etc all in one place.

Almost perfect. This app was just what I was looking for with my new puppy. It's almost perfect, too. I just have two quibbles. 1-I wish it opened to the activity screen. It's what I'm going for 90% of the time and the extra click to get there just strikes me as bad UX. 2-I wish on activities where there's a duration (like sleep), It would show the end time on the log.

Saving me. Literally saving me as I try to raise a puppy. Stellar, human-backed design and great responsiveness from the team. Best app I’ve downloaded in years.

Improvement request but otherwise great!. The app is great but please update the time input in the Activity section. Either make the scrolling screen bigger or a time input. Otherwise a really nice app - great to have all this data and time keeping in one place

Simple Timekeeper. It’s a great timekeeper. I wish it had a few more options as far as comparing different activities and multiple activity lengths. For example, giving the trends on how long our pup typically takes to go pee/poop after they eat or drink would be great. It’s a good app for getting your pups behaviors down, but it would be more worth it if they had better data comparison options. I felt like the discription made is sound smarter than it is. There are no features built in that give suggestions or tell you outright what patterns are forming. There is only a simple schedule review option that they’ve named “Patterns” so you can see what activities are typically done at which time of day. If you wanted to see what actual patterns were forming you would have to use their export to CSV option and write the formulas yourself with the data you input in the app. My wife and I have really loved the option of sharing the information with each other. When she has our dog she can input the activities and vice versa. That’s probably the best feature of the app is the sharing of the data with your other “pack members.”

Helpful app. Provides easy, clicks to record your dogs activities. tech-support is weightTech support was very quick to respond, and provide solutions with a nice human touch.

Great app for puppies. This app has worked great for tracking and staying up to date on all the food, medicine, and potty breaks that our puppy requires. Especially for families or households that share puppy responsibilities, it’s nice to get home and be able to see if the dog has been fed or let out. While it’s still functional as-is, I would love to see some bug fixes or updates from the dev.

Can log in new release. I love the app but since the update tonight I can no longer log in. I don’t even get a link when I click on reset password. Hope you can get this fixed.

NOTICE: Improvement Request. Important Improvement Requests: - Use native iPhone keyboard settings with spell check and shortcuts. - For the “time” when logging any activity, should be a manual input using keyboard instead of “scroll menu”. The scroll always pulls screen down on iPhone X when trying to lower the number. Manual input is also much mor efficient and quicker for user. - Allow for a “view” mode when clicking into an item in the “Journal” or “Activity Log” .. every time you go to view a recorded transaction, it’s always in “edit mode”... by default it should be “view” mode than a menu button somewhere to edit the recorded transaction (very useful to prevent deletion or accidental typing - Allow for pictures in Journal to be opened and viewed (unable to even view the picture in journal - when you click it to view, it only allows to pick a new picture from camera roll, again this will be fixed by having a “view mode” first when clicking an item, rather than straight “edit mode” .. also pinch and zoom into pictures is critical (medical reasons) - Allow the ability to customize “Activity” rather than “Other”, and than constantly typing a reason, maybe have a settings option to change and edit “activities” - Have the screen scroll down to the typing “field”, when you click into a typing field, the keyboard will overtake the “field” portion until you slide the screen up manually to view what you’re typing

Awesome dog planner app now updated. Been using this app for the past couple of years and really love it. This new update is amazing! Love the look and feel. Very intuitive and easy to use. It helped me to plan my dog’s walking schedule during potty training. My wife and I love the instant activity notifications the most. We also use the other functions to keep track of vaccinations, medications, grooming appts. This app is a lifesaver and really has made our lives easier raising our dog. Our vet was very impressed when we showed her this app. Thank you Dog Assistant team!!! Highly recommend for all dog owners.

Meh. Our puppy is 9 weeks old. We brought her home a week ago. I think this app might be more useful when she gets a little older. Right now, it’s just too much to keep track of! Sometimes she’s going out to pee every 30 minutes! There are 5 people in my house total that are helping take care of her and I encouraged each of them to download the app so we could share the information and all be on the same page, but each would have to pay $5??? Nope!

New Puppy? Use this app!. My puppy’s bladder is so small! And he hasn’t figured out he can poop AND pee at the same time and save us a trip. The “stats” section of the app helps me keep track progress on minimizing accidents and shows exactly what time intervals work for us. Also super helpful to help establish and stick to a schedule.

Good app and excellent team!. I downloaded this app and sent a suggestion to the team & asked if they can add a feature to show the attached picture directly on the activity log - and they did listen and added it today! Very pleased to give this app a try! A good team is always the most important key to the success!

Not What I Expected. I bought this app assuming that since it was $5, it would be better and feel more complete than other dog tracking apps - in my experience, it is exactly the same as the free apps. Activity Log - I love that you are able to track pee/poo together but when you look at the stats/patterns it separates these stats from other individual pee and poo tracking. - Also I don’t like that you can only see patters in a week long chart, no month/6months/year options. - And I think the Activity options are really limited, no dog parks, puke, reactions, play date, etc (I expected more options for a paid app) Journal - I really like this feature, but I wish I could add multiple pictures to each memory. Without this feature, it feels like a glorified camera roll Chat - This is probably the feature that separates this app from other apps, but I haven’t found it to be useful. I assume my partner would have to BUY this app for his phone to even use. However, if he was able to get the app on his phone with my purchase, I would see it being helpful Reminders - Totally useless. There is no option to schedule reminders for the future, only daily reminders that you have to turn off and on with a switch Weight Tracker - Probably my favorite thing about this app. It allows for decimals and tracks it on a graph. Only thing I may have been interested in here is maybe a projection of the dogs ideal weight? Or an option to add an ideal weight Health Records - I’m sure this could be useful, haven’t used yet Dog’s Profile - WAY TOO SIMPLIFIED. This only allows you to add a picture, the name, and birth day. No option for adoption day, no option for estimated birthday or actual. Also this info does not integrate into the weight tracker Manage Pack - only useful if your partner buys this app too Every feature in this app feels lackluster for the price - would not purchase again I will say that it is nice to have no ads

Really good app, but don’t like the scrolling feature. Excellent app, but please change the way you input times...on iPhone 11 it keeps bringing the entire screen halfway down. Either bring up the scrolling dials or have the option for manual time input.

Great app so far. Would love to see an Apple Watch version to easily add walks and stuff but over all a good app

Lost account when app updated.. I really loved using this app to track my cat’s litter box habits, eating, drinking, etc. but with the recent update I was signed out and cannot get back in or reset my password. It’s almost as if my account was deleted. Very disappointed to lose all his information, as it was needed for his veterinarian. I may have to find something more reliable to keep track of my pets. If you are tracking your pet’s health, I would recommend using something other than this app.

Keeps us sane!. Our dog has health issues which require some sort of medicine, drink or meal every hour or so. She also has incontinence issues without much attention paid to her need to potty. I was really struggling to keep on top of it all and also remember what I had done versus what still needed done. With 2 people caring for her, it was a constant struggle to stay on top of her needs and with some of her medications being time sensitive, we needed a more reliable solution. This app literally is the only thing making her around the clock, nonstop care possible. It’s easy for me and her dad to both use and both know where we are in the schedule. It’s also SO nice to not have to remember when she went potty last. They recently updated the app and put so much thought into the new one. I love the new features, it’s so convenient to be able to add all of her medications to a list so I just have to click on it and check which 1 I administered instead of typing them out. I love the ability to add additional activities that we do often making it easy to track everything. Having multiple users be able to join her account makes it super easy to seamlessly pass her care from 1 person to the other. It also is really nice to be able to note trends in her schedule so we know what to expect and when something seems a bit off. This app has helped us make sure she gets every dose of medicine she needs, every drink, every meal and even has helped us figure out what could have triggered a seizure when one happens. Thank you for creating such an awesome tracking option for those of us who have nonstop things to do every day to keep our pup happy and healthy.

Dog management made easy. I’m not sure where to start but this app is literally a life saver. We’ve been users of the app for 5 years or so. We have a dog that has epilepsy and needs multiple medicines and basically everything about her life tracked throughout the day between two dog parents. I’m not sure how we would survive without this app it has literally been life changing. Thank you to the developers for making this. Now let’s talk about the recent new version release. We were having some issues with the old version and newer phone compatibility and figured it was just how it was going to be. Then boom. They drop a completely redeveloped version on us. The old app was great and I didn’t think it could be better. Wow, this new version is unbelievable. They literally thought about everything possible. The task of adding a new entry and predefined notes is game changing. You can pre save the types of medicines etc and then just quick select them. A+ Dog Assistant team. Thank you for making my life easier.

Amazing App But Needs A Smidge Of Modern Love. This app does everything you’d want it to do to keep track of your dog. Account integration makes it easy to work as a family to log my dog’s activities. However it needs some updates. Mostly I’d love some Shortcut or Siri integration so I can log my dog’s potty without having to open the app or even from my watch (that’s the dream, right?). Some fresh paint on the UI would be great too as this app reminds me of very past versions of iOS. Overall, though, a really great app by what looks like an independent developer which is always nice to see.

Must have for new puppy parents. I’ve never reviewed an app before but I felt compelled to review this one because it’s become such a lifesaver in our first week of having a new puppy. I spent three days writing data about the puppy’s behavior and potty breaks on random scraps of paper and was losing my mind, especially in a sleep deprived haze. I also knew I needed to have some clear data to analyze so I could create semblance of a daily routine. I tried a couple of other apps and it took too long to pull them up on my screen or figure them out. This one feels completely intuitive and within two hours I was entering my data like a pro. I can capture potty breaks in the moment, log sleep times, and track patterns for all his activities.I had my dog crate trained within two days, we’ve had almost no accidents in the house, and I completely credit this app. I’m not using all the functions yet, but I find the reminders useful at times, and I’m looking forward to getting my son and husband on the same system so we can all keep each other up-to-date once they start to do more with the dog. I’m not such a data junkie that I would do this indefinitely, but for the two weeks I’ve taken to focus exclusively on training our puppy, I’m finding this is incredibly helpful. I felt more in control of my day from day one, because I knew more about what to expect, and I could anticipate the brakes in my day where I could actually catch my breath. Or at least do a load of laundry. Highly recommend.

Would like a schedule option. I’m a busy dog walker I own my own business so remembering everything to do with my own dogs is tough sometimes. I would love to see a schedule option added in... If added in 10/10 would recommend to my clients and put it in my list included in my new client handouts!

Good Pet Companion App with Caveats. Overall pretty good app. There are however some bugs/issues. 1.) Loading of available pets in the launch page is can be slow 2.) When entering a time for an event, scrolling down on iPhones with no home button often invokes Reachability which is super annoying. 3.) The poop/pee events should show up on the individual plots for poop and pee and not just the plot for poop/pee 4.) Find a way to make logging for events that go overnight easier across days. Currently this requires logging two different events.

Meh. Personally, I don’t like this app: 1. It’s not intuitive 2. It’s not available in landscape mode 3. There is no option to track potty accidents Do you offer refunds????

Amazing app. The best dog management app out there! It is the most complete with training features to help us train our new pup as well as helping us track our pup’s daily activities which is a life saver. My husband and I find the collaboration feature a game changer that keeps us both informed on what’s happening day to day with our pup. Worth every penny we spent because it saves us time!

Best tracking app!. I’ve been using this app since my dog was a few months old. She is about to be 2.5 years old next month. This app has been amazing! I track almost EVERYTHING in it! It has helped me keep track of meds, food changes, potty times, vet appointments, grooming appointments, vaccines, weight, and I’ve also kept journals of important events that have taken place. I love how organized it has allowed me to be and others in my family use it as well! They can also track my pet on their phones! Best pet app available and the app support is outstanding! You won’t be disappointed!

Nice app but wish they would update some things. I really like this app but the sleep portion doesn’t allow you to log overnight sleeps you can only log same day time intervals. Please change to be able to log time over night

Great app.. My dog has allergies and is sick with another illness. I’ve been keeping track of photos of his stool, timing, what he eats and when - with the Apple Notes app. This is way better.

Lost my paid version. I’ve been using the paid version of this app for a year or two. Found out a couple of days ago that the author has replaced the app with a revamped version, and my info, data etc was deleted from the old version, which is no longer functional. I received no notice and if I install the new version I will have to pay again. Poor practice! Luckily there are similar apps out there.

LIFE SAVER for first time puppy owner. I am a first-time puppy owner, this app makes me feel so much more confident in making decisions the following areas: - Crate training (knowing the last time he peed/pooped before putting him in the crate) - Keeping my puppy on a schedule (visualizing times that he pees, poops, sleeps, and goes for walks) Top 3 things I love about this app (I have the paid subscription): 1. 1-touch logging of activities with current date/time as default start times 2. Visualize timeline of activities on a calendar, with customizable colours for each activity 3. Can add custom “types” as well as free-form text notes to any activity plus create custom activities Features I would LOVE to see: 1.
