So how about a trucker app that can keep you out of trouble. This app will keep you from going the wrong way such as saying you cannot fit a trailer over 50 through certain mountain rodes, many other apps say “ good to go” but not this one. Says “cannot find safe route” or something like that. No other app does that that I have seen. Thank for the free live saving app!! Only rated 4 stars because for some towards beginning and end of route always has you do a drive through a neighborhood to “turn around” when you could just make a right or left at the stop light at the main intersection with plenty of room.

Great tool to use. I use this daily. It works great give good safe routes. I just wish we could fix the manually put in speed limits on some routes. Because some roads at 45 and hammer says 30. So I’d like to tap the speed limit and over ride it sorta thing. I love the feature the will warn me when I’m speeding. We get tracked at work for speed and this helps me so much without looking at my phone because it just beeps when I hit the speed limit and then gets more and more persistent when I go over the speed limit. Over all rate 4 stars great tool and best of all it’s free. Good job Hammer keep up the good work and keep it affordable for us drivers thanks.

90 days in and Mostly good but .... Easy to use good app good features but can’t trust it to keep you on a good route more than once so if you get a good one save it immediately. Get rid of carpool lane recommendations because ...never in a truck. Please look into making it possible to adjust the recommended routes by dragging your route line. (used to be able to do on Mapquest) this would be more helpful than any other upgrade. Most times a good route but rarely will it give you a great route. When it does you’ll close the app to take care of something before you go, then and open it, input the same destination and bam you’re route is completely changed. Now the shortest route option is 30-70miles longer than the previous route provided and we added some fun skills challenges at the end like a u-turn on a 2 lane rd. or some sight seeing through a small town before we run you back onto the same hwy you just got off of and have you take the next exit. Good luck trying to adjust your trip after the recommendation is given. this app is stubborn. It’s like oh you liked that route did you well how about we don’t go that way again. ever. Please add the hwy exit numbers to the standard rd name description during the route instead of waiting until you get too close to the exit to take your eyes off traffic. Please make the roadway tags a little larger they stay way too small and don’t enlarge no matter how much you zoom in. Good app will keep using.

Go-to GPS for Truck Driver. This is my go-to app. It’s accurate 99% most of the time. Rarely, it’ll have me get off a highway exit only to get back in the highway, but this has happened to me with all the GPS’s I’ve tried. They’ve also updates how & how many truck stops/diesel stations show on the map. All this isn’t bad for a free app that I can use on my iPhone and tablet. I also really like the variety of route options given to a destination. Complaints: 1) I wish this would alert me to weigh stations (opened/closed) on my route.

Nice for what it does. Thank you developers! Finally what I was looking for. Better than my garmin dezl. Use it in conjunction with my Dezl just in case but so far works very well. Word of caution tho, don’t entirely trust for low bridges. My Garmin Dezl and this app sends me towards a low bridge near me as well unfortunately. Better routings and finds businesses by names. Satellite view and the ability to manually set entrance pinpoints. So far, so good. Edit: Sorry to say I had to take a star away due to that it at times wants me to reroute down small residential neighborhoods. My garmin rerouted in a safe manner. I think Hammer gps has a ton of potential but maybe just updates will help.

Great app. So I’ve jumped back in the drivers seat and stumbled upon this app. It’s great in so many ways but wish there was a way to adjust the max speed I drive as it’s like any other gps app I use that bases everything off the posted speed. So having an ETA would be closer to what’s shown in the screen. Also like Waze or google maps for instance you can mark to police if you see any or even mark construction or slowdown, etc... but you can’t on this app but wish you could. Maybe it’s in the works. Overall still a great app

Great for Professional drivers. I drive for a Limousine Service and I’ve been waiting for a free navigation app where you can put the dimensions of your vehicle you’re driving. Some days I drive a 56 passenger motorcoach some days I drive a 43 passenger Freightliner. I’ve been caught in situations where other GPS’s have taken me to a bridge where there is clearance height issues. Hammer will navigate you around that and give you the best route for the type of vehicle that you’re driving, not just truckers but other professional drivers as well.

Great but always can be improved…. I love the app. I would like to see some updates to make it even more better. Lane positioning would be excellent so truckers can know what lane they would have to be in before approaching their exits. Also, being able to enter GPS coordinates (latitude & longitude) in case the location does not have an address for delivery. Many buildings and homes are being put up, but latitude & longitude never changes. I love using the app for work, and it has helped me be a better driver.

Fix the bugs!!!!. I use to love this app!!! Now all a sudden updates were made and the app crashes. It went from never crashing not one time to now as soon as I click start route boom it crashes. And if I get it up in running it’ll crash mid route. So now I have to pull over with my 4 ways and find out where to go . Use to be reliable but now it’s unreliable !! Get it together I drive a 18 wheeler with a 53 foot trailer can’t go down certain roads and this app lets me know those roads. Another thing if I miss a turn , REROUTE!!! Don’t make me make a impossible U turn or put me in no truck route residential just to get me back on the route. There’s other ways ! Plz fix these problems

It’s a wonderful GPS. I like this app a lot. I wanted to get something to compare routes with my old Rand Mcnally because it’s not the most reliable. This app tells me whether or not my other GPS is trying to take me off the highway unnecessarily. The interface is easy to use, and I really appreciate it being completely free. If I had to say, this GPS has about 90% accuracy. I don’t recommend this being your only truck navigation. But between this, google maps, my Rand Mcnally, and my 3 years trucking experience and knowing which roads are safe to go down, it’s very useful. Wouldn’t recommend for beginners to solely use this. But I really do appreciate the free tool that’s generally safe to rely on. Thank you so much!

The best tracking app I have found but could still use a few tweaks. This is a very good trucking app it is pretty good and the routing I have only had a couple problems with that one is that it doesn’t let me set the speed that I can travel at which is 5 miles under the speed limit and the second one which really matters to me is that I can’t talk and hear directions at the same time if I’m on the phone call I can’t hear the directions other than that it’s a good app and like I said it’s the best one I found so far

Crap. So you’re driving along at night with Hammer running in dark mode and you want to know how many miles before the next turn. You look at your screen and see the white right turn arrow against the yellow background but you can’t see how far because it is displayed in a teeny tiny font, also white against a yellow background. It just looks like a blur. So you pick up your iPhone from the holder and hold it up to your face while squinting while you drift off to the side of the road and your tires catch a snow patch and the next thing you know, you are jackknifed in a ditch!! Could they have possibly found a color/size combination more difficult to read??? You’d think they would design it so the distances could be EASY to read but NOOOOO! Also, the app has this annoying tendency to freeze and crash while using.

Very nice. As someone who has been using this every day for quite a while, for a free app this is really good. The first thing I will ask is PLEASE bring back lane position. It used to have a box in the top left that showed real time how many lanes there were and arrows in all of the lanes that you could be in to stay on course. This made it much easier to stay on course with the audio turned off (my preference). The app was working better before one of the recent updates because when I used to go off course it would start to spasticity say “recalculating” but eventually it would recover. Now when I go off course it usually will be able to provide an adjusted route with the blue arrow on the map but the header that tells you the upcoming turns and street names is usually stuck on the turn that I went off course. And one other thing that’s not that important is when using the search feature I will put in an address and the results that pop up usually has the street listed above the address itself. Example: Search: 123 Main st. Results: [ Main st. [ 123 Main st. If you are in a hurry and click on just the street name it routes you to a random location on that street. If you guys can fix any or all of these concerns that would be great, very happy to be using this free app and I recommend it to all my colleagues. Thanks!

Please address the map orientation bug. While I thoroughly enjoy the app—aesthetics, functionality etc., I have noticed that when in “Go” mode (which is an awesome feature since the screen stays on and it gives you a live look at travel / moving location) the map will, at random and sporadically twist and turn during travel, almost as if it’s directional sense is thrown off. That gets very annoying and it’s quite frustrating when you’re needing the stability of the map in tight situations. I don’t know if this issue is a bug within the script or an issue with hardware/software compatibility but I hope it is fixed soon. Again, great app, but please address the “Go” features live orientation bug.

Amazing navigation app.. This is an amazing navigation app however, it still has bugs. I like the app however when nearing exits and turns it does not respond quickly enough so you find yourself slamming on the brakes and changing lanes extremely quickly. You also find that this system near New York City in Newark New Jersey seems to tell you to be in the wrong lane almost every time you need to make an exit. I’m not sure whether that’s a bad rate issue or a satellite issue. However, the routes it gives you to navigate are always excellent just need work on exits stops and turns and the lead time a trucker would need in order to make them safely.

Replaced my $700 dezl. I bought another 700 dollar gps only to be disappointed. I found myself constantly checking apple and google maps and as we all know as truckers, you can’t rely on anything but your own eyes when it comes down to it. I’m a part of the new generation of millennials in driving truck, i got to thinking how i have an iPad and an iPhone, there’s no way the processor in that garmin is half what i have in my devices. I really appreciate the solid product hammers developing. When are new updates coming? When will you have a premium, I would subscribe if you could integrate or guarantee live traffic without compromising safe routes. I’m watching the road so honestly all i care about is that i can trust you wont send me to the wrong address or on or under a bridge I’m not supposed to be on.

Truck driver. This is the only app in the market that is accurate it has lots of features that a truck driver needs to be safe and not to get lost where most app will do key factor is the hub right where you can see it and weather report I can’t say enough about this app it’s totally amazing I know I be only had it about two weeks now and I have compared it with garmin and rand McNally not to mention other apps like google maps which is not trucker friendly and Waze you spend too much time pushing buttons which is not safe in a commercial vehicle I’m still working with it and believe it or not it has not let me down at least not yet again this app deserves a five star just because so far it doesn’t stand up to other devices and apps good job .update I have notice that at times it’s it fails to calculate times to distance so let me say this if they can fix this only glitch that I see and tested I still use and rely on this incredible app .

My experience. I’m new to trucking. After I purchased an expensive GPS (I won’t say which one), it malfunctioned. Hammer to the rescue! Even though it doesn’t provide as much info as more expensive/dedicated GPS units, it never failed! I like this app and continue to use it, even now. It’s free and I recommend it! I suggest you install this app on a second/spare telephone or a dedicated tablet/iPad so you’re incoming texts/alerts don’t obstruct your view of the screen, especially while in traffic. 5/5!

App needs major improvements. This could be a really great app but it falls way short. First of all, it would be nice if I, as a driver, could be told ahead of time the exit number and the correct lane to be in. This app somewhat tells you the exit number but when it does, it’s way too late for drivers to make safe decisions on how to exit. Secondly, even with my vehicle type and dimensions programmed in the settings, I am constantly routed down streets that I have no business being on. It also tells me to do U-turns. Finally, after a turn is missed, the recalculation process is terrible, at best. This app is a great idea but it needs to be updated. I have been placed in extremely dangerous situations from using this app.

Needed it for a road trip and it SAVED me hours. While driving a large rental van I needed to avoid parkways and this app saved me hours compared to other commercial navigation apps. The visuals for directions were extremely helpful giving me piece of mind while driving a large vehicle. Plus I was able to include the dimensions of the van to perfect the drive. I was extremely grateful if this app for my journey, would HIGHLY recommend to anyone! The only negative (and it’s small) is that I wish it had the exit numbers for highways versus the name of the road/ exit. But that might be a personal preference!

Used to be a good app. When I first downloaded this app, it worked perfectly. I had no issues getting to places and I liked how the speed limit was always available now after the update this app is absolutely terrible. The information bar at the top that shows you your next direction gets stuck so it will tell you to turn down a street that you have already turned onto miles ago. The speed limit also get me stuck. It’ll say that you’re going about 7 mph when you’re going 60 on the highway. then not to mention the screen will go black and you have to close out the app and put the address in all over again. change everything back to the way It was before the last update and I’ll go back to using it but I am going to delete this app off my phone because at this point, it is useless

Great app, still some improvements needed.. The app is easy to navigate and provides lots of info relevant to a trucker. The latest enhancements are a welcome upgrade. Some of the color schemes and font sizes could be better: white on orange for the dark screen??? Please make that black on orange. Also the font size for the miles to the next turn, please make that twice as large. Finally 6 clicks to change from light to dark display is too much, please make that a one click option on the main screen.

Very satisfied, but…. I’m very satisfied with the app. It gives me all info I need to complete my route in a timely manner. But the multiple stops feature needs a little tweaking. Before Hammer, I used Mapquest & even though it was getting the job done, there was no commercial vehicle option so I found myself improvising quite a bit throughout the day. With Hammer (as a Hazmat driver) you can enter the specifics of your particular load & classifications of the materials you’re hauling & it automatically selects the most effective route for you. Also, you can add if the place you’re delivering to has a truck entrance for the benefit of other delivery drivers that are also going there for the 1st time. My only problem with the app is that the multiple stops feature is not as user friendly as Mapquest. You can get used to it & make it work for you, but like I did, you might have to work on it at home like I did, until you get the hang of it. If they make it a little bit more user friendly, it’s definitely a 5 stars app.

Poor customer service. Downloaded the app two different times. First time when it came out, second time just recently. First time, app wouldn’t follow my location, so I had to keep refreshing the map to show my location. Waited a couple days, played with the settings longer, still couldn’t get the app to follow my location. Had same issue when I downloaded it the second time. Messaged the customer support in app and the tech feedback in the help page. Did not get a response in either. App was a good idea for give rough estimates on drive times to my supervisor for trip planning, but couldn’t keep it if that was the only reason to have it. I can google the route and add a couple hours. I may download it a third time later, but there are other options to try first.

Need exit numbers posted. It would be very helpful if exit numbers were included on the upcoming actions written at the top. As well as direction highway is running. For example. It may show that in 5 miles you need to take exit on the right for i35, but what if both exits are on the right? It should read “in 5 miles take exit 15a for i35 south. It currently, only gives you the exit number and direction verbally with only a few seconds notice. I’ve taken the wrong exit a few times in the Dallas area. Not a place to make mistakes in a big truck.

Great App, very Useful “Crash Fix Required”. Started driving big rigs over the road recently and this app was recommended by a dear friend which came in real handy. Been experiencing some issue lately as in the app unfortunately crashes once it’s set to a specific route and you look for travel centers through the route itself. It’s been over two days I’m experiencing this issue hope the developer fixes the issue so this app can get 5 star rating from me and many others.

Highly Sought After. It’s a really useful app especially for small companies that use big trucks for their business. The only complaint I have with it is that it tends to automatically change to a route that I didn’t want to go on. For example, if I wanted to take a longer route to avoid traffic, it automatically reroutes to the shorter route that I was trying to avoid. Other than this, it’s a great app.

Very Good Free Truck App. I usually use this app when I rent a U Haul truck and its done a pretty good job guiding me and keeping me on the roads and highway I’m allowed on. If you’re using this app for U Hauls too (15 foot or less), I would recommend using another GPS , one that you would normally use for regular cars/vehicles, along with this app because sometimes this app will make you take really slow or long lasting routes because I think it calculates the trip as if you’re one of those big trucks, which have more limitations on the roads/streets than the U Hauls. I would follow the regular GPS as long as it keeps me off parkways, and of course just be mindful of the height of your truck incase theres a street that has an overpass or something. Usually what will happen is after following the regular GPS, this truck app will recalculate the route and start giving almost the same directions as the regular one, give or take if it says to take a parkway, then you’ll need to alternate between apps and make sure you take the correct road or highway.

Great for free, sometimes flawed. I have used this for work until I find a cheaper truck gps. I have used this a lot to get where i needed to go. My only problem is the multiple times that the routing has taken me too far, winding, back roads instead of easy, straight paths and highways. I have also been directed into residential neighborhoods through this app and other locations that you can not even get a truck into. The times that it works though I love it and the multiple options for routing.

WORKED BEFORE!!!. This abs need to be completely fixed! I use this app daily and this update that was just sent out made this app not usable and it’s very frustrating because I appreciate this app being free and all but when update come out and four app doesn’t even work what am I supposed to do??? I’m extremely upset. The app does not search for anything correctly at all now and for truckstops and barely find anything that’s correct it continues to freeze up and shuts down while I’m driving the whole time driving using this today the app decided to show that there was no speed that I was going and then completely stopped working and continue to show previous pass miles driven. Having a tech-support button in the app is also a little frustrating because no one responds to anything I’ve sent and opened a request and never heard anything back. Not sure if this is a one-man running the show, but if so, please reach out to me because I have tech-support experience and I would be gladly happy to assist in anyway just so this app can be successful.

Navigation. The app works but the direction line is hard to read and it has showed me 3 times to take one route and the switch and caused me to miss my turn. Any city like Atlanta or Wisconsin where you have to navigate thru different directions it’s trash! Has too much on the display and takes to much time to focus while you driving to see the right direction to go and when you do it still send you down the road in the wrong direction. And it always asking about truck stops and if they full or empty. It gets annoying when you trying to get some where. I gave it 3 because it works on open roads but in cities google blows this app away.

Pretty Good but u gotta babysit it... I was recently on a route that took me through Winslow and Flagstaff Arizona… after 10 min on the interstate Hammer changed my route adding 2.5 hrs to my trip and was directing me to exit the interstate at Winslow and go north on a bypass route 2.5 hrs out of the way to come back to interstate in Flagstaff… fortunately i figured it out and went by the exit in Winslow and it rerouted almost immediately back to original route and 2.5 hours less of a trip. This was not the first time Hammer had tried to sidetrack me off the interstate for no reason! The app has stopped showing some of the Loves and TA/Petro truckstops with the latest version. Too bad the developer can’t test their app and fix problems like this. This app seems to get worse and worse with every update.

Finally. Finally someone did truck route planner gps for truckers. Thank U so much, it helps a lot. It would be nice if U could make it like in the inRoute, if I don't use gps then i can just look in to maps and the arrow will be always in centered. For example: i put several points i did a route but I don’t want to use gps i just want to look from the top which U don’t have that option. If You’ll have time plz look at the inRoute app to see what I’m talking about. I’ve been using this app for 5 years really good app.

Not only for CDL drivers, also U-Haul drivers. I’m from Florida, currently living in Long Island, NY and had to rent a 20’ U-Haul for the drive back. I was unaware that the bridges on parkways here are too low and U-Haul trucks are restricted on them. After some research, I found this app which is above and beyond what you expect from a free app. I actually wish the maps app on my iPhone was as complete as this app and had as many features as it does. It got me out of NY safely and I highly recommend it, no way I would have found my way out of Long Island without help.

Love the app. Has bugs. Just started driving a 26ft straight box… this app is slowly building my confidence about getting around. I’ve been using it for the past two weeks. Only issue I have is that it often times points in one direction (go to the right)but says another (says to go left). Not sure why but I’ve been fortunate to be in the area I know so I know to follow the arrow but if I was somewhere I wasn’t familiar with I could see that being a problem especially if I’m not staring at the screen.

Excellent but a few quirks. I love the trip time accuracy and the routing. Both are phenomenal for any gps, much less a free one. However, turn-by-turn audio alerts and directions leave a lot to be desired. Directions lack clear display or exit numbers and target interstates, which is common to almost all current gps. Vocal cues also lack clear identification of what exit to take and which road is the target. This is all well and good for rural areas but intense interchanges can be problematic and require a glance down to see where to go…maybe. This is a safety concern under those conditions and represents the only real gripe I have with the whole application.

Okay, but needs improvement, and be careful with your info. I started using this app to help maneuver through some bigger cities I’d never been to before and was making deliveries to on my last trip. Overall it was okay, but more times than I’d like to say the maps gave really inaccurate information for clearance heights which wasted my time as I had to reroute and find my way around some tricky areas with which I was able to make the clearance. I also used a separate phone number from my usual one to register and in the weeks since I started using the app I have come to find they sold my info and I’ve been getting on average about 3-6 calls a day from various unwanted solicitors related to information given in the app and for trucking companies I never had any association with or would have my information for any other reason calling about bogus jobs and other nonsense.

Best app ever…. “Yes! Yes! Yes!” Is all I can say. Finally the app I wished for , I am all over the place and heavily rely on nav, “the eye in the sky” is what I call em’. I drove rideshare for many years and trust me there is nothing more important then having a good navigation, with all the road closures and parades and craziness in NYC you just can’t take chances… working now with all different types of heavy and tall box trucks… it can be a real hard time avoiding “car only roads”….”clearance” and so much more. Without hammer I would be lost, pun intended. Seriously, love this app, helps me more then you can imagine, INSANELY cool features… when the app is running I feel part of a “kind and helping” community. Thanks HAMMER!!

Love this map app. As a trucker it’s convenient accurate and most reliable during tough times. I drive local but do regional on occasion so I don’t have much use for a trucker GPS device, this however is the perfect substitute. I have other trucker maps that aren’t as up to date with the maps while this one is and it provides the most quick route option for me. With turn by turn directions so I I’m not guessing which turn to take makes me feel confident driving.

Much Appreciated!. I’ve been using this app for a few months now when I’m going somewhere off the beaten path. It has proven to be very helpful and more times than not it gets me right to my destination. It’s my preferred trucker gps app to use thus far out of the few others I’ve tried. I do notice that sometimes it tells me to take the cars ramp on the NJ turnpike rather than the one designated for trucks but that happens rarely. So as long as you know better as the driver you should be ok...I’m really looking forward to landscape mode as others have already mentioned, that will be a big improvement! Also another more soothing option for the voice would be great too, it does sound very robotic. But overall it’s a great free tool to have as a truck driver and I’m trusting it will continue to get even better as time goes on. Thanks!

Average at best. I use this sparingly and typically for short runs to confirm a truck friendly route. This GPS app repeatedly gives routes that are longer and less efficient then other truck friendly routes I can find. As an example a North to south run from Wahpeton, ND to Greenville TX. The Hammer app only gives one option that is 1101 miles long 17+ hrs. I can travel this run in just over 16 hrs and spend more time on truck friendly state highways and interstates running 1,063 miles. In routes running West to East along I-80 the Hammer app always wants me to get off I-80, get on Indiana state hwy 30, then travel back North to get on I-80 again. Time consuming and inefficient.

You asked for it. Little Johnny had a friend named Rick and is asked Rick ran down the street and ask the hooker. How much do you charge and she said that much let’s go around the corner and I will work you over. He said wait just a minute he runs back to Johnny this is Johnny we’re gonna go around the corner and she’s gonna work me over Genesis here. Take this piece of paper with you have her fill this out first, then ask her how much she charges and what she would perform Ricks is OK Jenny I will do it. He runs down there with excitement and he has a piece of paper and she says what is this and he says oh I want you to write me a five star rating and yes I’ve done nothing the hooker told him to get lost. How can you write a review? Without doing any samples Rick runs back to Johnny this is this lady is crazy she won’t do as I ask Johnny says that’s the world we live in everybody want something first and something for nothing how about riding the review after you use the app thank you.

Awesome all I can say. This is a must have if u drive anything that’s big n heavy Even some of you who pull your boats might want to give it a shot. I drive a quad Dumptruck n sometime a hot shot with a forty five foot trailer. I delivery ship containers. And most of them are purchase by home owners who use them for storage n the back of there homes they live on small road that are not suitable for big vehicles. This app has save me from getting into a jam a few times. Like not being able to turn around because the neighborhood are to small. It tells you things like that as well as keeping you on a truck route.

Amazing. Got stuck in Dallas Texas on a freeway, both my Garmin and Zonar went on the fritz and told me to completely different directions and I can’t afford to pay for Truckers Path subscription and Hammer got me going the correct way until Garmin and Zonar decided to work properly again. Highly recommend 10/10 will absolutely use from now on since it seems to be running way better than the GPS’s you have to purchase

Truck driver John. I spent hundreds of dollars on GPS systems for my truck to make sure I go to the proper commercial routes as required. This app is 10 times better than any GPS system I have used I can plug any address in my phone and this app will get me there better than the GPS I use. I wish I would’ve had this app prior to getting all the GPS I-had bought.I also found that this can get me places better than the GPS itself where the GPS will run in circles. This app gives me straight there the most awesome app I’ve ever owned for directions in a commercial vehicle.

Trying to figure a route out. Needing to get from our race teams shop in hamden ct to lime Rick park race track this app gives me two routes we can take . A green route and a blue route to pick from . The bargaining part of the blue route is faster but half way there the green route is faster . I can’t seam to just combine making my own route out of both . So it looks like half way there I will have to stop and then change the route from one to the other? It gives me a two hour and a two is hour drive time depending on what route I pick but having been going to lime rock countless times every year for 30 years I can make the drive combining both routes in 1.5 hours . If I don’t stop and change the routing half way thru our trip it’s not just going to take an extra half hour but it’s also going to put me on when we call misery hill ! It’s a very steep grade two mile long down hill going and a two mile up hill on the way back . This app needs to have it so you can aliterate the routes and combine two or more to your own route you know is faster and better .

Disappointing. Helps to avoid non truck routes but better have google maps on as well , this thing will display a huge sign telling you to exit but will display a huge box right on top of the exit and covering your map to see where you going not to mention it needs contant data or it would go crazy and freeze oh and sometimes you driving south then you exit to eat when it’s time to get on the highway it tells you to get north so u have to reset it and itllgo back to hammering and to top it off today no matter what address you put in it it just sayng thar “couldn’t find a route for your destination “ no matter where i go all day it’s been like that soooo definitely not reliable

A sad death of a great app.. I haul exclusively OS/OW, and this app is perfect… when it works. Let’s review based on it working, and hopefully it will work again. You can save routes and easily alter the routes as your permit changes. The unlimited stops and ability to save your route makes multi day trips a breeze. Just take the time to build your route and you know you are good. If your iPad updates or needs to restart, just reload your saved route. Some of my longer trips have 20 or more route points and this app handled them easily. When works, it is a 5 star app. Right now it does not work at all. It actually crashes so hard I need to do a soft reset to get my iPad to function. This is particularly frustrating, as my ELD is through my iPad as well. I have tried to use it in portrait and landscape mode. With and without extra stops (no added points renders it useless to me). And I have uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times. All to no avail. I hope it works again some day, but I can not continue to try to test an app that crashes my whole system.

Great up but not 100% needs an update. I love the app all the features it offers it’s the perfect app for me however I was driving down the 91 east and it was telling me to stay far left to merge onto the 5 south but far left was the carpool entrance to the 5 when I needed to stay far left to merge into the 5 south. And when your driving a big rig you can’t have those mistakes. Please update it and fix these issues. For anyone reading this don’t drive blindly with this app trust your instincts and follow the signs.

Great free app..... THAT WORKS RELIABLY. Stumbled across this app and found it to be a solid, well designed and functional item. I usually use Google maps and recently purchased a Garmin truck GPS.... However if you're without an aftermarket truck GPS or aren't using GPS 14 hours a day daily, this IS the BEST substitute going. Set truck, trailer length and weight as well as number of trailers and freight / hazmat, height permits etc etc. Satellite view, optional 3d and live traffic... It's an excellent back up and calculates sensible safe routes 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

Good. This is very good application. However, they need to update entrance for truck vehicles for each location. You need to make the adjustments based on Google map to find the accurate location of truck enterance and some location’s. But still it’s good

Has great potential. I like it but it needs work. No metric. Some other minor details. Can't figure out how to save a favourite. But it did keep me on the truck route. It's very accurate at speed limits.

semie 1. happy

Hammer. Wooo

You are very good service thank you. You are very good thank you very much

Must have. The one thing I wish all GPS had was a passing lane notifier with advance notice of 2KM, 1KM and then a sliding rule visual to end of passing lane. It’d save lives....

Getting worse with with each new update . . .. It used to be my app to go to when in the truck. After “useful” updates started destroying the hammer, I ended up taking some silly detours, cause I trusted the app so much that didn’t check the routs it was calculating. Totally my fault - do not trust anyone. Now I’m removing it, as whenever I try to calculate the rout it gives totally irrelevant routs. I wouldn’t recommend it for professional use.

RVing saviour!. This app got us out of a very difficult clearance situation … we’re very appreciative of the body of information within the app!

Pratique. Facile à utiliser. Très pratique le fait de pouvoir télécharger les cartes nécessaires.

Review. Just as good as any rand McNally

Thanks. Very useful app thanks

Must have app for truckers. I love this app and I usually use it as an addon to my traditional GPS. I would love to see improvements in address searches because those are the toughest. At the end of the day, you still need your own navigation skills.

Best app. Its one of the app for truck drivers. Best thing is its free, and it even takes you to the places through right roads whereas garmin takes you on the low bridge or no truck routes. Reqlly impressed with this app. Great work!!!

Harry 389______. Great app

Amazing!!!!. Amazing easy to use highly recommend to all truckers!

Directions not updating frequently. Fix this soon plz

Awesome APP but…. Français en second texte. Since the last update I lost the whole recalculation route if I change direction. Unable to edit saved routes or favorites ones. When I move forward and look at the path already traveled, the latter is still visible whereas before the path already traveled changed color. The route calculations are perfect, the weight of the different trucks is accurate and the truck-free path is about 98% correct. Strongly recommended.

Hummer. One od the best Truck GPS App-s around. I tried them all, and Hummer is the best. Keep up the good work boys.

What happened?. I have been using this app for nearly 2 years and it has been fantastic. Much better than the app my employer pays for and wants me to us. Suddenly a few weeks ago it started to stop working properly. The voice instructions continue to work but the screen direction freeze, it continues to show a past turn or direction. Makes it difficult especially on highways when there are many exits in one spot. I like to view the instructions on the screen to help insure I’m taking to correct exit. This issue makes this app nearly unusable. Hope it gets corrected. I did report to the creator but haven’t gotten a response.

not good app. this is not working good in offline mood and always stuck always have to close and relaunch app and fill the address again and again because ut freezes alot of times

Happy it’s free.. Happy it’s free.

GPS. Best truck gps ever

Lack of Visual & Verbal route updates. This app doesn’t update the visual routes turn by turn. After making a turn or a highway change, the app doesn’t alert the next turn or show it on your screen. Instead it keeps the previous alert on the screen. After going by a truck stop it fails to update miles to the next truck stop. It should also alert or announce upcoming truck stops within 10-20 miles.

Amazing trucking gps. This app is amazing not only easy to use but it has taken me right to the form door of where I need to be everytime. It also gives me info about upcoming truck stops, fuel stops and rest areas. You don’t even have to go on a ms ask it to it just does it for you. I love this app.

Almost there. Gate GPS application that is free. I only have three problems with the application. One, road construction the gps is sending Me through the road constructions that are closed roads. Two, when the gps is rerouting it hard to see where to go. Third, sometimes the gps will freeze up. I am use to apple’s and google’s gps application. Other than that I would have given it a five star rating.

Problem with Dual Voices.. I love this app, BUT, ever since the update, dual voices run on this app and it is driving me crazy! I prefer the male voice for directions, however, I’m forced to choose the male voice every time I start this app. But this causes an issue…..because the female voice still continues to give direction, either over the male voice, or just after it. PLEASE HAMMER, FIX THIS ISSUE! IM GOING CRAZY LOL! Otherwise, this is a fantastic trucking app. I love it!

The best there is. First of all the fact that this app is free is by far the best feature to be honest. With the recent update it takes it even a step further. I use this alongside Garmin and both complements one another. Well done to the team behind this. If I can make a request: addition of rest areas along the planned trip. Thank you!

Love this app. It has yet to fail me. I recommend this to everyone and anyone that can’t afford $400 plus truck gps. It works for me very well being a car hauler. At times it does try to get me to go some routes that aren’t truck friendly but with common sense and good judgement this gps is great hasn’t failed me yet been using it almost daily for 1 year plus now

Wow.. At first i didn’t think this app was going to be any good I checked the few other iOS has and boo boo crap in comparison to this app. Does need few improvements. But hey it’s free. I like it so much they should have an option to pay’m back with a little financial appreciation. God is good, and so are these developers. But God is greater of course, lol.

Everything about this app is frustrating. At first I really liked this app but over the past week of driving across the US it’s become maddening. Cannot perform the basic function of finding copy-pasted full addresses, or any search whatsoever. It doesn’t show amenities on the map if they are not on the specific road you are traveling on. I could keep going. I understand this app is free which I appreciate but it’s started to become frustrated. I feel spoiled and silly complaining about. A free app but i just want it to work right

Great app. Highly recommended. I find this app very useful. They should add altitude and wind speed to their Home Screen optional. Also a small zoomed animation guides right exit is just another idea. Still lacking real traffic update. Major city lanes gets clustered with prohibited lanes such as express lanes and graphics gets very confusing. Rated 5 star because it deserves it.

Went through residential neighborhoods with trees that stuff INTO the road. This app took me through residential areas, a road with an axle limit, another with weight restrictions. Now today tried to get me to go 7 hours from my next stop. I understand that this app is free but it simply started messing up after a week. Checked if there were any updates and there were none. Get a second GPS or you might be like me, on the side of the road scrambling for answers. It has some bugs and that’s not something to play around with when driving over the road. We need accurate and truck friendly roads only.

Great but needs work. The app overall is great because I can put as many stops on a route as I would like. The only problem with that is it doesn’t tell me I’ve arrived at a stop it just has me keep going. So I use Google maps also to get me to a specific stop. Biggest issue is this app doesn’t warn you about weigh scales, or exits with enough time. The app needs to show what lane I need to be in and warn me of a turn, exit, or lane change sooner than it does because by the time it warns me it’s to late and I’ve missed my exit or my turn.

Great App. This is a really great app that I use on a daily basis. Definitely love the new update showing direction on lane usage when coming up on exit and interchanges. The only reason for not giving this app five stars is the fact that it would be awesome if the destination would be shown to be either on your right or left. Most of my driving is done at night and that’s hard to see addresses so it would be nice to know whether the destinations is on my right side or my left side

Love/Hate. I really like some features of this app. Specifically, I like that it shows the speed limit and the speed you’re going. I like the visit pictures when it shows you your exit. Overall, it’s not bad. However, it tends to lose track of the miles…I have to swipe out of the app and restart it to get it to update the miles. It also will randomly switch you to a different route. So, basically it provide you someone to argue with and keep a close eye on. It is a love/hate relationship.

Definitely not designed by truck drivers. It works as intended but for some reason it doesn't use exit numbers orTell you whether you need to go north south east or west. Example, it will just say in 5 miles turn onto I-75. You literally have to be staring at it so you know which way to go when you get to the interchange. It also does not use exit numbers. These two things are what real truck drivers use when navigating. It was definitely not designed by truck drivers and it is basically meant for amateurs.

Good app could up it to way better. Found this app after google maps got an update which turned it to crap. Anyway, it’s a good app but needs a few things added. Let’s call it the yellow banana bar…pretty much impossible to see at night. If you make it so we can change the color of that to like a green or blue I’d love that. The compass also doesn’t seem to point in the right direction or spin when turning. Other then those lil things I like this!

Good potential. Overall I think it’s a really good app but I have some very frustrating issues with it. First is the size font for how many miles to the next turn and the fact it doesn’t show exit numbers. Second and the worst has been I will put in an address the place I’m looking for will show but when I start the route it sends me to a different location usually miles apart. Third when it recalculates it doesn’t show the route. Forth it has had me redirected through residential neighborhoods while I’m hauling doubles.

New update is great but…... Please update the directions list it’s super slow and doesn’t show you your next instructions and please make it so it says what exit number because sometimes the signs and the names on them don’t match the directions the gps is giving. Otherwise it’s great .

Needs fixing. I have the newest IPad and the orange line at the top ( @ ) night is too bright even in night mode! I emailed you a couple of months ago and it is not fixed yet, also the mileage to the next turn is too small too read from the dash! And the speedometer is also too small!! Also if doesn’t show the exit numbers in advance, that would also be nice too have!! When these items are fixed I will give you 5 stars ⭐️!! Thanks

Great app. Very useful, needs a bit of work in giving directions on real time. Like when you get on a highway it will follow the highway” it doesn’t say for how many miles to stay in that highway!! With a small phone it’s hard to read the miles in the left upper corner and while driving !! Other than that, it’s a great app.

The best GPS to use in the city.. Making deliveries in Chicago is very difficult when using a trailer that’s 13’6” and 48’ long. This app makes it easy to find your way around a city where every street literally has viaducts that are too low for you to get around. It’s very useful and takes the stress of turning your trailer into a giant sardine can away. In my experience it’s always been accurate on the bridge hight and weight restricted roads.

Most reliable app for pick up and delivery driving. I’ve been doing pick up and delivery for 4 1/2 years with 5 to 17 stops a day and this thing strategizes everything. I don’t know how I can live without it even though I know my territory mostly by heart After he stops a day it’s free otherwise it’s $10 a month and it’s worth every penny

Updates. Good app. I’ve been using for 2 years now and it’s been working ok. The lates update has some issue tho. It freezes up while I’m on route and have to be closing the app and restarting it. To then input the address again to just have it freeze a few miles down the road. It has kicked me completely a couple time, luckily I was close to my destination. If they can fix that issue, the app would work great.

Stops updating. It worked great when I first downloaded and used it, over the last week it started not counting my speed and wouldn’t show the turns or exits that I would need to take, I’d I slowed down to much everything for the most part would freeze and I would have to cancel my route and restart it a couple times for it to start tracking again. Also have an issue where it won’t track at all if using it on my IPad

Tough competition.. This app is very good,👍 but can be improved. Apps like copilot are more accurate and have a better ETA. One thing about the Hammer app I don’t like is that it sometimes routes you through residential community routes. Sometimes it will route you to a dead end street. When this happens, I use Google maps. At that point, I’m never more than about a mile away from my primary target. Competing with other apps is a challenge, but everyone relies on accuracy and a strict truck routes. Please improve the accuracy, especially the ETA. Also sometimes the app crashes, that’s not good. The map pulls out and then back in, then it bounces around before it freezes up. It’s important to have a stable app otherwise people will start using other more reliable apps.

Not too bad. I like the ability to enter z stops. I can navigate on a route of my choice as well as the suggested route. There are a few gaps but nothing that will lead you astray as long as you know approximately how many miles you have to go. Always check any navigation system at mid point and it will take you where you and your rig need to be.

Good app. This app has been good, few bugs to work through. If you’re a real truck driver you’ll be able to use this as one tool out of many to get where you’re going! Once you get close to your destination I suggest using google earth or Apple Maps, maybe even an atlas. All in all, like with any gps common sense goes a long way in the end.

Driver. Like this app very much This is the best app Only concern: hacking and cell mimicking: I put a route in and. The voice say take another route. But the cell shows the right way. Last, keeps just this month. Keeps sending me through business routes and. Not correct routes examples today expressway 5 minutes away and it wants to still send me through city business routes

New Driver. I’m glad I found Hammer when I did. Conventional GPS doesn’t have the options I depend on as a newer driver. Low tonnage Rds, low bridges, small intersections etc. The only issues I have had is redirecting for accidents or altering routes during a trip. I drive fairly local and get new directions occasionally and it can be difficult to engage my app and drive while looking for alternatives. Tiedupagn

Great but. This app is in dire need of an update! Anytime I select a new location to drive to it automatically selects a previous stop!! It’ll do this until I force close it and start over. It also doesn’t always pick the fastest lane, luckily I knew the route today but I wanted to verify and hammer gave me 3 choices, all of which were 2+ hours longer! Unacceptable guys cmon!!

Good trucking GPS. Way better gps than what my job has. This app hasn’t failed me since I started driving. I’d say it’s 98% accurate with the truck routes. Only had an issue once, were it said a certain route I needed wasn’t a truck route. It was for cars only. Called a fellow coworker for help to my destination, turns out it was the same route the gps was giving me.

Best alternative to that one cash cow app. Thanks for an actual reliable and informative app that is also free and without ads. I am just hoping more people can get to see how great it is and contribute more. I have it open all the time and submit updates to locations whenever possible. Keep up the fantastic work everyone involved. Reach out if I can help improve it in anyway.

WAS great till a few updates ago. I was using this and this only to navigate my way through both the city and residential areas , but a few updates ago the app completely stopped working, it won’t even load. I reached out to support and they told me they were aware of the issue and were working on it.. that was over a month, and 3 updates ago and I still can’t use the app :( I really enjoyed using this app even with the very few minor issues it had but if I can’t even open the app what’s the point?

Motor Coach Operator. I have been using HAMMER pretty exclusively as a charter bus driver, the options of customizing your vehicle are great and I have found HAMMER to be more accurate than Google for directions and time. I feel more confident that I will not be put in a situation that a 45Ft long 13ft tall bus has no business being in while using HAMMER. I highly recommend this app to all my fellow drivers out there. Be safe, keep the rubber on the ground.

Truckers GPS. I’ve been a user for a couple of months and it’s been great. Only once in two months did I have a false destination. It’s easy to use with plenty of good options. The down side is it doesn’t give you exit numbers and changing the route doesn’t always work.

the best app hammer love it ❤️❤️🙌🏻. this app have been saving my life thanks for exist !! god bless you all guys a big Dominican fan of your app here thanks again i hope you guys grow big everyday 🚀🚀🙌🏻🙌🏻 i feel a lot of love for this app you guys are amazing i have other more GPS but you know what i prefer Hammer ... why cuz is easy to use is efficient smart and very pratic 😍🙏🏼🙌🏻🔥🫂 thanks

I think it is The best APP in market. I like this APP . 95% it shows really right direction, more beast than truck GPS. But sometimes it shows only one direction. Before departure You have to check the direction which road is beast for you. And I think needs sometimes update ( freezes). I recommend 👍👍👍

Over-The-Road Truck Driver. This app doesn’t provide accurate exit names or numbers (for example: just states make a left at CR 30). Also doesn’t have an option to post notifications of police traps, traffic accidents, traffic delays, inclement weather or toll costs along the route. This is essential in order to keep fellow truckers in the loop of issues &/or delays. It doesn’t reroute you if you’re approaching a heavy delay due to a major crash while traveling on a major highway. The routes chosen by the Hammer app is always 2-6 hours longer than the other apps I use.

Flatbedder. Overall good app.. but has been known to add more miles to the trip than my other GPS apps, like 10-40 more. In this day in age, those extra miles take lots of time and money. Had helped me out of a few tight situations while waiting on the Qualcomm to do its thinking. Deleted it and downloaded TruckMap..

Could be a little Better, but I still trusted and used this app!. I took a trip from the NE down to midland with this app, and a couple times the mileage would freeze up but it will still give directions. Then I pulled off at a truck stop and it told me to go all the way down this road when I could see the entrance ramp. Other than that it does a good job of alerting and giving directions. I really like the pictures of the signs when you have to take an exit!!

Navigation and reliability. The app has been useful to me but sometimes it can’t find the right address and also it sent me to a non truck friendly area and it freezes too much I accidentally missed my exit and it didn’t even reroute I had to pull over and restart the app. Too many bugs and feeezes a lot. It’s a good app overall but it definitely needs those issues fixed.

Great for RV towing.. We use this to check routes for our weight, height, and length to make sure the roads and bridges will be able to accommodate us. With this app we check different routes and times as they are more realistic with our times to get to new locations. We have a 5th wheel camper so we do have to stop for lunch and potty breaks.

👍🏻great 👍🏻. I really like this app. It gives three normal adequate options given real-time traffic. it also has a multi-stop option. I noticed that it does not voice the exit number during the direction. in the future it would be nice to add traffic lights and a speed camera.

Mostly Great truck app. Most of the time, I don’t have any problems with the app. I did recently have to uninstall, then redownload. I have iOS 16, and am not sure if there was an issue. It has shut off on me once or twice, and not allowed me to do a route once, before reinstalling. So far, only one kick out in a week, which, is still mostly rare. Info at top can freeze, and the speed has frozen a few times, however, the map still kept working. Reliable enough to use, and it’s free.

Up Date Map. I love the app it’s amazing could you guys update the maps because I tried looking up places and it brought me to the middle of no were when I was trying to find a business location. Most places I’ve been looking up don’t even come up as the right place???

Driver review. I have been using Hammer for roughly 4 months, There is very little bad I can say about the app. So far it has been by far the best actual free truck specific gps app I’ve ever used. I’ve used rand mcnally gps about the whole time I’ve been driving (10 years) and this app is almost as good. I would however like to see the city and state added to the bottom of the map screen like regular gps have.

No Rig. Good morning I was looking for a new app for direction, road problems ahead I stumbled across yours. My husband and I don’t drive truck but we both drive a lot and for me have to go to new locations all the time Thru-out Virginia. Will this app be as helpful to car drivers as it is for Big “Rig” drivers? Thank you for the app and your time! (I will put a new rating pending a response and app use. P.S.Had to put a rating or couldn’t continue)

Reliable. Been using this app for the last 6 months and I will say, without it I would be forced to buy an expensive trucking gps. It is very reliable and I’m super thankful it exists. However, some minor things I have noticed that could be fixed is that it tries to take you through express lanes/HOV lanes through cities, and you have to restart your route after going through weigh stations. Other than that, everything else is great and the ETAs are pretty accurate

Good for the most part. The app is good for the most part. Few things it could improve on. Theirs no legend anywhere I could find for the icons. Some icons are too small for read. The mileage is estimated as the crow flys until you add the waypoints. It appears that it only caters to the large fuel brands for fuel prices. DEF prices and total parking spots. Doesn’t allow for driver input on availability. The so called “Mom and Pop” locations are marked. But have no fuel prices unlike other apps. No marked rest areas that I can see. Mostly good for just safe routes

Great app!!!. I used this app for a whole year with an occasional drop out here and there. For the most part it was reliable. Sure it took me thru a weird area from time to time bust as a first time driver it sure helped me. I still use it as my back up gps as I run 2 gps for reference. Thank you to the Hammer team!!!

Great app. There’s still a couple things that need fixed, like being able to put that this road isn’t a truck friendly road or this and that. So don’t be like all the other idiots on the road and stare at which way your GPS is telling you where to go…. But all in all it has definitely helped me as a newer truck driver learning where to go and where not to go.
