THIS IS NOT FREE!!!. I downloaded this app, but once I reviewed the filters I decided I did not like what it had and deleted the app within 5 min of download. When I went to delete I was informed I would have my subscription for the next yr. Of course I was surprised because I did not sign up for a subscription. I immediately went to my account only to see a $70 charge. I want my money back. I would have never agreed to a $5 purchase for an app let alone $70. I will be contacting my bank first thing in morning and Apple. This is very shady.

This app is fake! And trash!. I was watching videos and the add for this app came on, and I saw the cartoon effect and I loved how it looked. I figured because it was rated decently it wasn’t fake trash. Well I purchased a subscription, I went straight to the cartoon filter. I used the filter, on a picture of me. And then tried it on other effects, the cartoon filter is trash. They made it look better on the ad! I’m annoyed I spent money for this app. I wouldn’t recommend this app. And the supposed ‘sketch’ filter isn’t to bad, but it looks like I have cracks in my face, and just the colors are grey/gray. This is basically a scam, please do not download without reading some of the reviews, you’ll regret it.

Developers Read Please. I feel like this could have potential, yet i am angry that you get the app thinking its fully free, i mean its ok, but why cant you just make it cost money on the store? Just so you can pop an add up and get free money with your deception? This angers me, the app isn't all that bad, but i think the way that you deceive people is petty to say the least. But good app over all, even though i feel one of the developers will say “thank you for your feed back! We will see if we can fix this problem.”

Sneaky charges & misleading info!. Misleading - download the app and it automatically requests that you upgrade for $89 / year. You can cancel out of it and get to the app to take a picture. Once you take a picture - it displays a button that says “upgrade to RecShot+ for free!” Click on the button and you’re given options to PAY weekly, monthly or yearly. So what you’re saying is you’ll charge me to for the upgraded app but not charge me to actually do the upgrade? I don’t understand. This app and company seem pretty shady.

I didn’t know I had to buy it in order to try it. I’ve never had an app that didn’t let me try some features first. I never would have bought this app but just now I paid $89 for something I could didn’t want to purchase!!! The app immediately asked me to click after I downloaded. I obviously forgot that I had clicked to download it in the first place and wasn’t expecting it to immediately charge me $89 for a years subscription!! I immediately had buyers remorse and a sinking feeling knowing I have NEVER paid that much for any app, much less something I wasn’t going to use. If I could just get a refund I’ll call it good and remove my 1 Star rating for the weird tactic to buy something before I could try it.

A shame I couldn’t test it out.. I’m looking for an app that does something very specific. I want to turn pictures into cartoon pictures. I’m fine with paying for it, rates are very comfortable, however I would love to know what I’m paying for. Unfortunately I was unable to test out this app on certain pictures to see if it does what I want it to do. Message to the devs, at least make it to where you guys have your watermark all over the samples that are created by the free version. If people are too broke to afford 15-20 bucks a month, it be doubtful that they could afford a proper photo editor to edit out the watermarks. Also would love a version made for the iPad users. I know there’s a free 3 day trail, but I still feel uncomfortable about committing, especially if I don’t know that it’ll do what I was looking for, and I’m sure others are too. But as of right now, I will have to get by with something else unfortunately.

Disgusting and false advertisement. The ads for this app show these cool features and filters that just are not in the app. The cartoon filter that is used for marketing, promotional pics and ads for this app all use this very unique style which is what every review here is looking for. As a graphic designer I understand how much work would be required to create a design similar to the ones advertised and was blown away by the idea of being able to make them in seconds with an app. And by blown away I mean not suprised at all to see it’s another scummy app that scams consumers and uses false advertisements and lies to steal money. If only I could show screenshots and compare the difference in the in app filter compared to the ads I could close my case, but I cannot. Please do not download this app

Misleading. This app is very misleading. It says it’s “FREE” however you can’t do anything unless you pay. There is nothing free about this app. I downloaded it to see if I would like it. It wouldn’t even let me load a picture without subscribing first. I immediately deleted it.

Don’t buy this app.... It showed up as an advertisement on one of the games I’m playing. I chose a limited version for a few days, but did see there were options to pay up to a year, and even a lifetime membership. I never saw that same advertisement again. I sent them a request to see if I could cancel and heard nothing. I requested repayment from Apple, and they did, then this company charged me again. I used once. There’s no way you can use this app month after month. Rip off. Beware I’m working with Apple to try and get your app pulled from their App Store. The critical reviews that you’ve receive most frequently reference the subscription. I tried the product and thought it was okay, but when I cancelled through Apple and my money refunded, RecShot simply billed me again. When someone violates the 3 day trial period, where does it state that they are obligated to pay at the “annual” rate? Why not the weekly or monthly rate so they can catch it? I canceled my subscription to RecShot some time ago and guess I just have it till Feb 2021. Apple care assures me that the subscription won’t be reactivated. This really is a scam.... I don’t care about the 75 bucks, but do care about scammers. This will come back to you I guarantee it.

Buyer Beware... Do Not Download this App! It is not a trial!. They even force you to give them at least one star to submit a review. I can’t even give them one star, due to the forced subscription issue. This app immediately tricks the user into a purchase. I immediately called Apple to cancel the subscription! They need to be banned from Apple and iTunes as it is illegal and inappropriate to take advantage of consumers. I never looked at the product so I have no opinion of it, but the handling of the subscription is absolutely inappropriate. I now have to hassle with getting a refund! The developer needs to correct this problem immediately!

This is not free. I tried what I thought was a free trial and then deleted it from my phone after about 30 minutes. While deleting it I saw different subscription options, one week for $8 and one year for $70. I was charged $70 after ending the subscription and was notified my year’s subscription was renewed!! I feel I am being ripped off!

App should be listed as a pay app. I understand apps with limited functionality as free to try, this has NO true free option. You have to subscribe to even get into the app at all. And supposedly it has a free 3 day offer, but you have to subscribe to get this, and then get charged after 3 days. Please stop with these, I feel if you are shady enough to pretend it’s free your also shady enough to charge my account. At least offer a test option with a watermark and limited options to see if it works. I’ve happily paid for apps that work as stated, However I have no way to find out on this without compromising my account.

Don’t download unless you plan to pay!. I downloaded this app to try it out for “free”. I uploaded a photo and got not a cartoon, but a posterised version of the photo that I could have done in less than 10 seconds in photoshop. (I timed it. 8 seconds). Dissatisfied, I clicked “cancel membership” and removed the app. I still got charged for a month. I guess they mean the first month is free only if you pay for a second month. If a company has to TRICK you into buying their product, probably the product isn’t worth the price.

Total scam beware. I made the mistake of downloading this thinking it would be at least worth a try. Without saying anything about pricing it prompted me to choose a photo. Most of these present prescription options so I wrongly assumed this would do the same. In order to “try” it with 1 photo, it charged my applepay for $70 That is outrageous for a photo app, that’s more than professional editing software. They are counting on people to make the same mistake. Otherwise they would be up front with costs, but they know nobody will subscribe at that price.

I downloaded his app hoping to find something hat I could edit my photos with but sure this app provides that, but ONLY AT $100 PER MONTH ITS ABSOLUTELY INSANE THATS SO MICH MONEY!!!! I mean u can use the filters but they are all really trash unless you pay and then you can access the good filters that are shown on the ads. So to save yourself some time and money and don’t download this app. And if you don’t like this app please give it a bad review and if it gets 1 star or lower it can be kicked off the App Store. Because this kind of app doesn’t no belong on the App Store with this many good reviews!!!!!!

SCAM BEWARE. I downloaded because I saw an add and it looked cool. Asked me to do a free 3 day trial so I thought yeah sure why not, I did what I always do and immediately canceled the subscription so I didn’t forget and used the app for about 5 minutes, then deleted it because it wasn’t for me. Only to check my bank account 1 day later and find out I’ve been charged $90 for the year??? Even though I cancelled before the trial was over? Ridiculous and disgusting scam this company is pulling. Waiting to hear back from apple to get my money back. Don’t download this app unless you want to throw nearly $100 away.

Automatic Payment. I downloaded the app thinking it was a cool idea, expecting there would probably be some features behind a paywall or perhaps a free trial, but as soon as I open the app it asks me to sign up for a subscription. I accidentally clicked sign up (without ever even being able to try it out) and now I appear to be stuck in a 1 year contract for like $70!!! I cancelled it immediately and deleted the app. Waiting to hear back from the developer after sending an email. I’m going to be absolutely furious if this charge ends up going through. I have never seen anything like this.

We have to pay to use like everything!. Well when I downloaded this I thought that I was going to see what I looked like if I were a cartoon but no! It’s ok. So I don’t know why you guys downloaded the app but I know I did because of the cartoon filter and I was rather disappointed! I mean you can use a different version then the one in the add and I’m not paying a monthly fee for an app I use for photos. I used a pic of my friend and I was just disappointed at the outcome, it was kind of pixely and all of the good filters are premium! I THINK YOU SHOULD JUST SAY WHAT YOU CAN USE IN THE APP FOR FREE IN THE ADD.

Warning warning warning. The app looked cool so I downloaded for FREE and then it asked for access to my photos so I said okay and then it brought up my photo library and I picked photo to see what it would do and immediately it put a window up stating that the app would auto renew next year and they charged me 75 dollars with tax BAM! No asking me if I wanted to upgrade no nothing!!! Just spent a half hour with Apple asking for a refund immediately and found out it could take 30 days to get my money back, if they review and find it was done maliciously (which it was) these developers are thieves! Steer clear and be careful not to upload ONE photo. It butchered my photo too to add to the misery.

Not happy with support. This is the frustration with all apps. I accidentally fast fingered accept without realizing the annual fee price and was unable to back out. Now after cancelling the subscription I was looking to call customer service to ask for a refund since it was a mistake, but of course there’s no clear way to communicate other than through this review, so customer service if you are listening and/or reviewing these comments, please return any and all payment made. There should be a governmental regulation that makes it clear and simple way to reach out to customer service. So disappointed and on top of that, the 30 seconds I browsed through the app, it didn’t seem like anything I would be interested in anyway.

Just want’s your money. This is not a free app!. This app is deceptive on so many levels and should be removed fromApp Store. No real customers have ranked it above a 3 and most at a 1. No wonder they plaster games with an auto download link, if you came here to actually look it up you’d see what a scam it is. App Store is contributing to the scam. You can’t enter the app at all without agreeing to a (very faintly printed and not at all accessible message) $89 dollar annual usage fee. Don’t fall for it. It’s not free to use no matter how many times the developers post that bs copy-paste response. And I you think you’re going to get real “cartoon effect” filters, like their ads show? Talk to literally any digital artist and they will tell you that such a filter doesn’t exist.

Big scam, hate the way they trick you to subscribe. There are thousands of apps much better than this for free or 99 cents , this is a big scam , stay away . They will charge your account $7.99 per week . I accidentally had my finger on fingerprint reader and end up paying $7.99 for this garbage Update: they got back to me after a few weeks to let me know that there is indeed a free version but be very careful, they automatically charge you after three days unless you cancel . I will give it two stars

Scam app. I wanted to try this app after seeing an ad via zynga poker. First off the cartoon transformation filter is nothing like they advertise it as. It is more like a oil painting filter and not even a good one. The only features it has are collage, and a few useless filters. The kicker is, they charged me $89 for a year of service and I never even saw any indication that there was a fee. I submitted a refund claim to Apple so we’ll see how that goes. STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP AND DEVELOPER. You can get better filters from free apps which apparently this one is not.

Like it but some things. You see the adds for editing it into cartoonishly photos but when you get it you have to pay for most of it and I felt like the app was trying to trick me at the start like it tried to make me not see the exit button and trying to force me to pay overall I guess it’s ok but please fix these issues

TRY PICART. I was reading the reviews before downloading and someone said you can’t do anything on here without paying. Then he got a reply saying it was all free but only some service. I wanted to see who was telling the truth and I downloaded it. I was able to choose a pic BUT WAS NOT ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING AT ALL TO THE PICTURE without first subscribing. Everyone PicArt is amazing and just about everything is free. It’s the complete opposite of this. Quite honestly with PicArt I have been trying to figure out what the paid sub has to offer to see what I’m missing because I can do a lot. These bAit and switch scams and people that try to hustle me I can’t stand and will never support. #greed

Not quite what I was looking for. I thought that this app would be a good fit for a project. I thought I had gotten a trial version (because every other app such as this does have a trial version). It did not offer exactly what I needed so went to uninstall it and found I had gotten charged for it. I have tried to reach out via email and I can’t get a response. So. Please contact me. Please cancel my subscription. Please refund me my $$

Do not even download will stick you with $70 subscription. This might be my first review but was angry enough to finally take the time to write one. Saw an as for this free app and thought my daughter would might try making the photos/cartoon. Well free part let’s you only take the picture but to see it render have to download another and clicked so fast I had already clicked when I realized it said it was signing me up for $70 a year. Needless to say cancelled subscription immediately but already stuck with this year. I didn’t even try the app after that and deleting it. What a terrible business model but guess they are making their money regardless of the product.

Deceiving Ad. Hello, Literally a couple of minutes ago I clicked on your ad via FB for a free cartoon pic. I clicked on it and downloaded the app. After uploading a pic as requested, I was asked to double click my phone thinking it was to process the cartoon pic. This screens to follow flowed by quickly as I was navigating and and the subscription was snuck in there. I was charged a subscription fee and that was not what the goal was at all. I have sent 2 emails to support immediately following the charge. I would like a refund ASAP! Thank you!

Heck no. I’m not gonna pay $$$ if I can’t even try it- I don’t care about saving a test try... but honestly- if you think I will put in my payment info to get 3 days for free- then after that get charged a grip load... Nope! I would prefer a test try- without commitment, without saving- without adding my payment info link just to see how good this app really is. HORRIBLE ! Do not even THINK about downloading. Honestly , I had seen some cool ad for this app and I went ahead and downloaded it to see what it was about. As soon as I opened it up , it immediately ran a faceID and charged me $95 for a YERLY SUBSCRIPTION! it didn’t even give me an option , it just did it ! WHAT ?!? Why would I want a yearly subscription of this app that requires you to by everything ?! Waiting on apple for a refund .... I emailed Recshot’s support email , they never emailed back. A COMPLETE SCAM ! I felt like such a ditz for having this happen to me , thinking it was my fault. Turns out it happens to everyone that downloads this app ! BEWARE !

Worst app. They don’t tell you the price of the app make you think is free you clock on GET and then later you get a charge of $89 monthly sent to you by an Email from them that now you are responsible to pay it. I emailed back 2 times no answer . Now they blocked the card and they canceled the app but they want me to get a new credit card or credit card number to use ! Because of their own mistake . Their app has no prices I showed them more examples but they still are not doing anything about it . Just know if you don’t see if the app is free do not download you never know the price until they send you invoice . APPLE HAS BECOME terrible in quality and service they don’t back their products and very product is becoming worse than their last.

Must pay for anything unique in app. The developer’s responses on here keep saying “most things are free”. Nope. It’s true that you can close out of the subscription page and still use the app (didn’t know until I read the developer’s response on here). However, about 1 in 5 options are free, and those free options are filters which are easy to find elsewhere, like built into your phone. The pricing is outrageous, it would be so much better if there was a middle option like a cheap annual price to just use the filters without the templates or anything else.

Sigh. As with every other cartoon filter app, you can’t see the cartoon filter unless you buy the subscription. I get the Devs need to make money, but it’d be nice if you could see how it works before buying it. There is a 3 day free trial, but I’ve run into way too many apps that abuse that then steal your money. I’d suggest you add some kind of watermark to the photo that way you’d be able to see it and decide whether you want to purchase a subscription or not. The filters also look really weird (at least the free ones). They made my pics look blurry or grainy, and it ends up looking like a low resolution photo.

Disappointed. It was mentioned in the App. that It would be easy to unsubscribe, but I haven’t found any contact or function to do so. It’s a costly program to get less for your money. Sorry, but it’s not working for me. Please unsubscribe me. I know there was a time limit and I’ve tried in between my work schedule to search for the location to unsubscribe. Writing a review is the only way I feel ill get through. Please lmk where we stand as far as unsubscribing. Thank you Henry

HAVE TO PAY TO DO ANYTHING😡. I saw this app (MARKED AS FREE) and thought I would download it to check out different filters for some pictures I’ve taken. Now it’s annoying enough when the adds for the app show you something that you can do if you pay while marketing that the app itself is free (HAHA😑 the joke is on the buyer for that one) but THIS app has absolutely 0 and I mean 0 things that you can do in it with out having to pay some weekly, monthly, or yearly fee. They don’t even have a simple filter that people can use unless you pay up which isn’t in the description of the app at all. They say you can unlock more features if you upgrade to the plus version but don’t give you anything to base the quality of the work on even if just 1 filter had been free they would have gotten a review based off that but nope they didn’t. Terrible Terrible Terrible!!!

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. If I could give it less than zero stars I would. I wanted to try it and without warning it charged almost $100. Impossible to refund. Shame on Apple for allowing such a scam. Money gone I decided might as well use it- Junk app, total crap, doesn’t do anything special or worthy of the price even worse I wouldn’t even use it if it were free that’s how it is. I obviously paid for someone’s drug habit cause absolutely not a dime went in to making this or improving it since i first purchased it. And notice how the creator does not defend his work, attempt to deny its a scam. There is no mention of improvements or better versions in the works. It was created to steal from people and that’s what it does .... apple should have higher standards for whose apps it will sell. Minimum requirement #1. Skill. Talent. Do not pay for automatic monthly subscriptions!. I'm not sure how it happened, but my account was being charged $7.99 per week! Life is busy and I failed to see that it charged me weekly! Please do not make my mistake and lose $500+ year for downloading and app that you will never use. There’s nothing in the settings that will allow you to cancel, you have to delete the app and it will ask you to manage your subscription. I’m so sad to have wasted money!

Okie dokie. It’s obnoxious that I paid 15 bucks for an application that prevents me from using a filter as many times as I’d like within a day. Apparently if you use a filter often-you need to wait to use it again? Ridiculous. I was just having fun with my friends and now I have to wait an entire day. Wouldn’t matter, but the dang application is expensive! I should be able to use the filter all the live long day if I desired to do so.

The second you try to run this app is asking to pay. The second you try to run this app it wants you to subscribe to an 89 a year plan. The whole screen fills up and some people don’t know you can close this and use the app any ways but why because the filter to cartoonize your picture wants you too sign up for the pro plan. I have always downloaded apps to try to do this and they all charge. I seriousllu thinking of paying someone to make an app that will do this for free or charge a one time fee of a dollar because I know is not free. Or and ad supported with a watermark or something

Money back please. I thought this was a free app. I installed it on my phone and went to use it. Chose a photo and a window popped up asking for my finger print to continue, but I didn’t realize until it was too late that it was charging me for a year subscription. I am definitely not interested in paying for this. No offense. I cancelled my subscription but I see a charge coming through in my bank account. I have uninstalled the app from my phone and would appreciate customer service to assure me that I will not be charged. This is definitely not something I care enough about to pay that much for. Thank you

Poor advertising. Sure sure the app is “free” but seems like bad advertising to show the cartoon effect in the ads where it says “free”, when that is a paid feature. You know that people will download the app for the cartoon effect, thinking it was free, and that’s why you advertised the app that way, nice job to who ever came up with that in the marketing team. Even if it’s really good(who knows since you can’t even test it out), I’m not giving my money to an app like this. Don’t bother responding with that copy and paste explanation about “recshot is free to download”

SCAM. this is not free. It’s SEVENTY DOLLARS. So they manage to get me to give permission I downloading a free app but you absolutely positively cannot use without paying for it even though they are advertising as free. This is all pure scam don’t do it. And please don’t respond by saying that most of the features are free and that the app is free to download. 99% of the features are in accessible unless you pay for it. You could just say that it cost money don’t lie to people nobody likes to be scammed. Yes. It’s free to download. But you can’t do a dog gone thing with this app unless you dish out $70 a year or $15 a month. It’s a matter of principle don’t lie to people. Don’t advertise it as free. This won’t ever use anything from this developer.

The worst false advertising I’ve ever seen. I downloaded the app expecting to get ripped off and I was absolutely correct. The “cartoon effect” in the ads where it shows your photo being flawlessly recreated as a drawing is literally just a cheap filter that makes the photo look 200 times worse than the original. To add insult to injury, that specific filter costs money! When you open the app it shoves their $90 per year VIP plan in your face, then offers a 3 day trial if you decline. What I can’t fathom is where they found the courage to charge $90 per year for a bunch of filters you could find on other free apps. This app is so awful it’s genuinely astonishing.

Scam app scams you out of money. They paid for all their good reviews because just read these reviews like come on seriously. As soon as I downloaded it there’s a button to press to get started but it doesn’t say pay now on the button it says something else and there’s no second button to confirm a purchase. As soon as I realized what I did I immediately cancelled the subscription but it says the subscription is for a year and it won’t charge me next year. I got an email confirming they took the money out of my account I will be calling apple and reporting this stupid app.

Good way to lose $$. When I installed the app and opened it for the first time, Immediately I was offered a year’s subscription for about $80, before even using the app, and because I have the newer iPhone, it was automatically bought because the app activated a payment request without my permission, and went through. Not even 60 seconds after owning the app, I had a 365 day subscription that I didn’t even know if I had wanted, and I didn’t get the choice because of how the app startup is set. After numerous attempts at contacting the developers, I have received zero responses about my requests for a refund. This app is designed to take your money, and that is that. I have used far better photo editing apps, and would never recommend this one to anyone looking to edit photos whatsoever. Save yourself some money and some time & stress.

REPEAT - WARNING!. Unfortunately, ZERO stars was not an option. All of the reviews about this company being “Deceptive” are true. They hide the app/subscription cost until it’s too late. If not for my alerts from credit card I had setup and later received email, I wouldn’t have known amount charged. I’ve called Apple support about this and waiting on refund, and disputed this charge to credit card company. The application is deleted from my iPhone and don’t plan to use. This app should not be allowed to stay in the App Store.

false advertisement. i saw this app advertised on a game i downloaded and it looked pretty cool so i gave it a try. immediate disappointment. if you thought you’d be able to use this app as soon as you download it, you thought wrong. the app automatically loads a screen that says “free for new users” and “monthly.” basically if you wanted to use this app you could for free for 3 days BUT you have to remember to cancel it within those 3 days if you don’t want to be charged $25 a month... SERIOUSLY? who is going to pay for that?? it should be advertised as something you have to pay for to start with. if i could give 0 stars i would. don’t waste your time downloading this unless you are trying to pay for it.

YOU HAVE TAKEN MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. I WANT A REFUND. I entered this app hoping to try it out however it has charged me $114 which I don’t have and cant afford. I’m these current time’s with unemployment at an all time high I’m disgusted with this app deducting the amount from my account. I am seeking a refund immediately.

Disappointed. This is a terrible app. I liked the look of it. The next thing I know it asks for my thumb print (I thought to access some features) and then it just takes $150 out of my bank account. Horrible! I've sent them an email for my money back and haven't heard anything! Would give zero stars if possible.

Kind of like the idea and the looks of the app. Luckily I jump in to read user's reviews and found out it's a scam app. So lucky that so many people warn about its scamming nature. Didn’t do anything. I was really excited about getting this game but when I got it I was really disappointed I didn’t let me use cartoon witch that was what I was most excited about and the rest of the options didn’t work I deleted this game Very disappointing

Do not buy!!. This is a scam. I purchased a full subscription and tried the cartoon effect only to find it produced a crude shading over the photo image - nothing like the before and after shown in the marketing and in the filter image

Be careful. Once you touch to see this site you are on a dark toad. There seems to be no going back. You have it for life. You touched it to see what it was-now you have it at over $100 per year-and you only wanted to preview it! Such a pain! Be careful.

Frustrated. As per a previous customer I feel like I was conned, as you get a message ‘try now’ so you think ‘ok’, and just as you have clicked to confirm, you realise that it has just cost you $81 a year! I do not want this subscription and not sure who to contact to cancel it.

It tried.... ...to take all of our money. There is a 3 day free trial, and then you have to pay ridiculous amounts of money every week, month, or year. The end result for the pictures are nothing like what was advertised, so they clearly just hired a professional to draw the preview images to make it seem like a miracle app, but no. It’s just another scam, like I predicted.

Rec Shot. Implies it’s free at a basic level then as soon as you allow it access to your camera hits you with an annual fee! I was lucky enough to stop and read before getting caught as others seem to!! Watch out!! MISLEADING!! Ripped off.. I downloaded this app and without permission or knowledge after using 1 frame I got charged a year subscription 114 dollars. I then find in the app you can trial for a lot less than a year. This is not appropriate and is taking money from people without knowledge. Scam and beware.

Relatively nice. It’s annoying how you have to pay for the cartoon but I guess that’s how it is and I wish it didn’t have so much premium and i would give it a five star rating if it didn’t have so much premium

Scam. That is - 1 star. This app does not do what it promises at all. It makes you think you are signing up for a free trial, takes a years subscription which includes automatic renewal and then has the nerve to charge you to save edited images. Big scam. On the guardian app today, I saw an advertisement for a free app that turns your photos into cartoons. At first glance I thought it might be a fun app to try out but soon after I find out I have just paid $114 for a year subscription. I learnt that there is a three day free trial but it has not even been a full day yet. I demand a refund. If you are reading this, take my advice and don’t make the same mistake I did.

Warning: it’s a scam!. Firstly, the cartoon effects and filters don’t look anything like the samples they show. You can find the same effects on hundreds of free apps. Secondly, they’ve engineered the app in a way that you unintentionally subscribe for year and take $114 out of you. Read the other reviews on here and other sites. Everyone’s saying the same thing about unwittingly purchasing a year’s subscription just by trying one filter. I wouldn’t be so cut if it was a month’s subscription but they default it to a year to scam the largest amount out of you. It’s so unethical!

Neat idea ruined by Greed. To have a cartoon version of your pictures great idea and kudos to who designed it and to who made it possible BUT a service is not required for this idea, especially not at these ridiculous prices.

Steer clear of this app!. It looks like a free app but the moment you try and use it to create even the first photo it wants to charge you $114. This should be very clear from the start before you download it. Lost me! I only gave it 1 star because half a star wasn’t an option.

Scammers. I was enquiring about this app when my ph paused during my test, i clicked, next thing i had purchased the app which is completely is completely useless for my business. It doesn't pick up subjects properly and when i asked for my refund i have had no response. Do not buy this app!

Dodgy. Got an ad offering a free 3-day trial after which I’d be charged $29 a month. They took the $29 upfront and charged me for a month and I didn’t get no free trial. Avoid this scam!! Should be reported to some sort of ombudsman. This is not right.

False advertising. Downloaded this to assist with finding myself a new hairstyle/colour Advertisement shows a girl “scanning herself” and the app showing her the perfect colour. This app simply asks you to upload a photo and then give you a choice of applying 8 possible and limited hair dos to yourself. Which of course all look awesome because they are digital. Not helpful

Tricked me into buying. Downloaded trial version and when I went to try it on my first picture, it asked me to download the plus version and when I did it said I had purchased it. That’s just a scam. Very disappointed

I was just looking for an app to make my pictures cartoons and I saw this app and I thought it was great and then I tried to use it and it said for cartoon effects subscribe and pay nearly $200 a year and I find that unbelievable so I deleted the app I’m just saying that it’s way too expensive when it should be free

TRIAL is NOT FREE. The app says that I will have three days trial. However, when I was canceling the subscription within the three days, it says I will still be charged for a week. I contacted apple, but apple says I have to contact the developer directly. Now what? I can’t find the contact for this developer. Is it hidden? Hard to find it.

hard to unsubscribe from. I downloaded the app and subscribed to the free three-day trial. I used the app for a few minutes and was disappointed! Beware! A $119.99 surprise awaits you!. I installed this app, and clicked on it the first time. Immediately upon installing, the same double tap power button message comes up as I had to do to install it from the App Store. However, after I double tapped it, I realized that it was a payment for an in-app purchase. The message came up saying that I had authorized a $119.99CAD annual subscription! I felt duped. I hadn’t even touched anything on the screen upon entering the app. It went straight to the double tap power button thing and the payment. I came to the App Store to look at reviews, and many other had the same thing happen. I tried to get a refund online, but that didn’t work. So I called Apple support at ‭1 (800) 275-2273‬ and after waiting on hold for an hour an a half, the lady there looked things up. I was on the phone with her for about 15 minutes and she said I would know within 48 hours if there was a refund. I checked back about 24 hours later and my money had been refunded. Apple Support to the rescue! Apps should not be able to do an in-app purchase unless it is expressly chosen one the app. There was no choice. There was no menu to go through. It went straight to the payment. This app should be banned from the store until it fixes this, and Apple should change their app review policies to include a requirement that the user chooses to make the purchase before the double tap subscription comes up.

Not too HAPPY :( with this App!!!. I downloaded this App and things were popping up where I didn’t even notice!?!? The next thing I knew my Apple ID processed $135 on my Credit Card. Once I noticed it I cancelled my subscription in minutes and ontacted the Credit Card company. The $135 still went through on my card and now I have start the fight to get my money returned !!!! Fraudulent App. This app claims to be a free app. It will prompt you to begin using the app when in fact it will charge for a full year subscription of $133.19 CA . There were no options for purchase and it was not clear that clicking to begin was actually a purchase. Thankfully Apple Support did an immediate refund. This app should be removed from the App Store. Apple should not be supporting this company.

Fraud Alert. This company says this is a free download. They will then bill you for $119.99 for an annual subscription stating that you have 24 hours to cancel your subscription. I did exactly that (actually 3 hours) and didn’t receive a refund. Further, I contacted Apple and their statement “We’ve determined that your purchase doesn’t meet the conditions for a refund”. Purchased by accident. I purchased by accident and it came to $135!! I sent a message to them right away letting them know it was a purchase made accidentally and that I would like my money back. It tricks you to buy it!. I accidentally bought this app as the payment button came up as an “ok” button to continue further to try their filters once I chose a picture to use. And it charged me their yearly fee without even giving an option to choose from their other weekly/monthly options! Horrible and a very unfair management. I’d love to get my money back, this is a total waste. But it’s impossible to reach anyone + it is treated as if I willingly bought it lol

Very concerning app. Apple was able to assist with a refund. The app is built like a booby trap. Apple should investigate the 5star ratings because this stretches plausibility. I am still seeing ads for this app and am confused as to why it is still available in the App Store

Be careful!! Cost me $29.67. I downloaded this app just for fun to see what it can do. While navigating through this app, it prompted me to confirm something. By mistake I double-clicked my phone and it immediately deducted $29.67 from my credit card via Apple Pay. It was a $29.67 per month subscription. I received an email confirmation so I cancelled the subscription right away but couldn’t get a refund. And also, I didn’t get any cancellation email either. I strongly recommend you NOT TO DOWNLOAD this app unless you are really interested in it. I just hope this app does not deduct another $29.67 next month.

Not actually free. Even though this app allows you to download it for free, it’s not really “free” since you forced to pay for this app as soon as you open it. Unless you able to find the invisible x button on the first screen, the free-user options are extremely limited, you are better off not downloading this app rather than giving these people your hard earned money on a subscription plan that overly prices each option.

I did not enjoy this app read to understand. Recshot is overall a bad app, it totally tricked me to thinking it would make me look like a cartoon! Totally NOT recommended! I love to edit my photos and my friends but this app is to expensive. It makes you buy so many filters, it’s a terrible deal do not fall for it. Recshot if you are reading this please improve. Ok, i saw this stupid app and thought i’d kill some boredom with it and i click to open it and some pop up comes up real quick and the page switch to the app store and it come back up saying “thanks for your purchase!” so i look to see how much they charge me. i don’t give a crap if it’s 3.99, but it’s $80?!?!?!?! $80 for a stupid camera app?? all i know is unless they want their company to hit bankruptcy, give me back every penny.

Every thing mostly cost money. I have been looking for an app that can cartoon me and I have been seeing adds for this and I thought it would be free but no I hit the X and I was cartooning myself and mostly every thing I saw cost money and it was like 20$ a week and all the ones that cost money where the good ones

This is a scam. The examples looked cool and I wanted to try it; when you open the app all that’s available for free is some pretty shoddy, basic filters, with the effect they use to sell the app being a premium add-on. So I check the premium and it’s stupidly, absurdly expensive, which I GUESS could make sense if the effect is really, really good. I mean if they want $7 a week, they must expect you to use it a LOT, right? With only a three day free trial? Nah fam. It’s a crummy filter swiped from Photoshop circa 2003. They’re just trying to trick you into subscribing in the hopes you’ll forget and they’ll be able to bill you a few times before you spot it. It’s predatory and scummy. Grow a %#** conscience.

Waste of time. It’s a waste of time the cartoon filters advertised aren’t available to use unless you sign on for a free trial. You can’t even see a sample of what the filters will look like. This app is very deceptive not fun to use at all it feels like a soulless money grab app that actually doesn’t care about providing a fun free experience for people who choose to download. Don’t waste your time downloading it unless you want to spend money I’m sure you will be disappointed by the experience.

This is a New Level of Scams. This app charged me without any notice or approval upon downloading. This app should immediately be taken off all formats and the developer put in jail. HEAR ME NOW... if you download this app, it’s already too late. There should be a way to report this to Apple so they could take this app down. Apple should also report them to the authorities of that country.

Good filters not good for what I downloaded for. I downloaded this app specifically for the cartoon filter and tried on multiple photos of different light and setting and it was just over all poor outcomes coming from a photoshop user. Other filters are good and can be used but again this would be fore your basic photo editing user.

I was not given a free trial. I downloaded the app, it said I would have a free trial but within two minutes it charged me for the yearly package aka almost $100! I didn’t like the app so when I went to cancel the prescription, I saw that I was charged. No free trial what so ever, which it states we get in their terms of service. Basically, my money was stolen. I sent an email to the one they gave us on the terms of service, but I am waiting for a reply back. My money should be refunded.

Sorry. The ads are so intrusive that it is almost impossible to test whether the app might be useful. It seems to have some quite good features and I might consider subscribing if it wasn’t so expensive. They should consider introducing a lifetime subscription. So, sorry, this one was deleted quite quickly.

Don’t get this app. This could be a good app to edit your photos, but you basically have to pay for all of the good filters. If you saw this app on an ad and it showed that you could make yourself into a cartoon character, you have to pay for that. Also it says by the end of the year you would have to pay 80 or 85 dollars. In my opinion I think that is way to much. But you do whatever you want. (Just don’t get this app.)

Buyer beware: this is a scam. At no point, will you see written anywhere that if you download this app it cost $75! And will Renee for more in a year. I was shocked to see the bill and feel totally scammed. I clicked to it from another app. I should have known better. Before I deleted the app I tried 1 picture. It didn’t work well at all. I had given up even before getting f charged but seeing the charge just added insult to injury.

Worst app. This is a false advertisement. This is my least favorite app by far, you need to pay for every filter. The free filters are the ones I’ve seen numerous times. The fact you need to pay 90 dollars a year just to unlock a filter is ridiculous. If you want to have a successful app that everyone will like, at least make some free so people could try it out. I’ll never recommend this app to anyone I know. It needs a lot of improvement.

SCAM. What a straight up SCAM of an app. Right when you open the app after downloading, it prompts you to buy an $89 subscription! And the $89 is in small fine print which you can barely see. Such a ridiculous scam. If you choose not to spend the ridiculously large amount of money, the app only gives you two or three awful filters which only distort your photo. Nothing like advertised. This app should be deleted from the App Store. Scummy. Would rate 0 stars if I could.

Regarding this app!!. “0” star for this App!!!! Do not touch any buttons. I accidentally did and then realized I just made the purchase. Though this is my work phone, no contact info was given to cancel this except to give them a poor, poor review!!! I guess people will do everything, even be to take advantage. Cancelling subscription. Hello, I had so much fun with your app! I found that all of the different changes I made to my photos were so “on target”. I just can’t afford to pay right now. When I am able, I will definitely come back. Thank you

stupid. ok yes, there are free filters and yes it says in app purchases but not for what they advertise. they advertise that filter you see on instagram a lot, the one that makes a pic of u look like an angel in a cartoon w/ overly long, beautiful hair. i was making one for my best friend and then it says u have to pay for it?! or at least become a member which in car i didn’t know, costs $$$. and probably a one time use or at least 3 times a yr. i just wish they would advertise things that r actually free, like PicArt. -e.m.

Beware. I downloaded the app for free. The developer has cleverly tricked the user into purchasing an expensive yearly subscription($50). In order to try the app you get funneled through a screen that gets you to subscribe, which is unclear because no price or or subscription length is actually shown! So I assumed free. Shame on developer. Reading the comments I’m definitely not the only one. I’ve requested a refund from both the developer (unlikely) and also Apple.

Accidental Buy. I was clicking around and accidentally bought this app. I was like, “Whoops no big deal - let’s see...” and it was $90!!!!! I went to Apple and quickly told them it was accidental so I could get my money back. Nothing is worth that. Be careful when clicking because I don’t believe it’s anywhere easy to read. To be fair, I didn’t use the app but I don’t have to use it to know it’s not $90 investment I want to make.

Warning!!! Tricks you into paying for subscription and can’t cancel. Thought I was able to try the app but suddenly found myself with a $90 annual subscription and charges to my Apple account. Contested the charge and Apple removed the charge but under “manage subscriptions” I still see that the subscription will renew in one year automatically at $90 and I see no option to permanently cancel it. Very manipulative and frustrating.

DO NOT download.. Goodness! I never saw such a SCAM in my entire life! After reading WEBTOON, I saw a ‘cool’ ad. I downloaded the app, expecting to make a cool cartoon photo on a photo I have taken. But NOO!!! What did I see? I SAW with my OWN EYES I had to PAY $89 dollars JUST to get a cartoon filter for a picture I have taken? Hell no. What is this? I can’t believe I wasted my time downloading this cruddy app! I wouldn’t even call it an app! I would call it a serious scam! Disgusting, Horrible, Irritating, scam! Unbelievable!!!

Be careful what you wish for. Loaded the app some time ago and just started to use it today after about 3 minutes I received notice that my Apple account had been charged almost $100 for a years subscription to the ‘+’ edition. I don’t remember seeing anything notice other than that that I was being offered the opportunity. Just saying be careful while playing with the free edition. I have since deleted the app.

Scam!!. Downloaded the app for free and it popped up with a little screen which I didn’t have time to read because my thumb was on my home button (hate how you do t have to click them in on the new phones🤦‍♀️) and it paid for a $74 subscription!! I want my money back NOWW!!!! If you were charged as well contact your bank to dispute the charge immediately!! I wish something could be done to turn these crooks in.

Charged a fee and never used.. How can one be charged $94 yearly subscription when it was never used. I will report to Better Business Bureau. Falsely advertised. I was charged and didn’t get to open the app. Now I have to argue with people about my money. After speaking with APPLE support, even when you contact them immediately, it will take 30 days for you to get the funds back that it took them minutes to take. Jeffrey and Pam did what they could but this APP and the company promoting it are full of BS.

Help!. I just accidentally subscribed and do not want to subscribe. I have looked all over app for help. I cancelled the subscription within a few minutes but still received a receipt by email.

Ripped off. I was interested in the free trial and was taking a screenshot of instructions on how to cancel so I’d have that for future reference if I decided to purchase. Well when I took the screen shot it charged me a monthly fee. I don’t see where I can get ahold of someone to refund my money. I don’t want this app. I had downloaded it hoping to turn photos of dogs into cartoons but it only works for people. It’s of no use at all to me. I’d like my money refunded.

Read the reviews. So many people can’t be wrong!. Truth be had I was able to try out some filters without paying but then I went to the comments section and was just horrified. How did it get to 4.3 rating is beyond me. Anyways, uninstalling now. No app is worth $90 a month or even a year for that matter. I get quality apps like Enlight Bundle, with excellent results, no bugs and good customer service for quarter of the price.

SERIOUSLY???!!!. The only filters you can upload without paying $90 are the cheap color filters that most cell phones have for free!!! The cool cartoon filter, plus 90% of all the other slick filters are locked! UGH, so frustrating! I do write ups so apps for many blogs and sites and I find most all the apps today are LOCKED and unavailable without a credit check, employment verification, and your first born child!

Deceptive App - Don’t Bother. Something is definitely wrong with the ratings on this. It’s advertised as free, has a 4.2 rating, but all you can do is take a photo of yourself. If you want to then do anything with that photo with effects or filters you have to sign up for a ‘free’ 3 day trial, after which they start billing you. Would be interesting to see how many folks delete this app within 15 minutes of downloading it. I’m about to become one of them.

SCAM. I didn’t realize you could get scammed as easy as opening the app. Do not open this app. If you have a credit card linked to the app store, your muscle memory will tell you to out your thumb to the button the second you see the finger print and they charge you. Apple needs to do something about such terrible developers. Hopefully my credit card company will reverse charges because there is no option for refund.

Do not install AT ALL. This app is just a bunch of lies. Their advertisement is false, and who in the hell would pay 90$ a MONTH for an app that is rigged. Also I think the photos in the adds were stolen art, I only downloaded this app to write a review saying how this app is full of crap, do not install it unless you want to waste your time and money, to the developers of this app how bout you get a life or fix this app cuz no one here is gonna pay 90$ each month for some stupid filters 🙄

Cartoon Filter does not look like advertised/shown. Has some fun filters. Did the trial to because I was interested in the cartoon filter. I was very disappointed in the cartoon filter because on all the advertisements and photo for the filter it shows an awesome high quality cartoon, but when you apply it to the picture it looks nothing like that! It is blurry and not a clear colorful cartoon as shown/advertised.

Trash. As soon as you open the app it prompts you with an option to pay for a 90 dollar membership. Won’t even let you do anything on the app unless you pay up. Fake reviews and all of the negative reviews are replied with the same copy and paste paragraph about how there are many free functions available which is a total lie and tries to put all liability on the consumer. Take this trash down and make an honest living.

READ THIS. Every time I read reviews I don’t listen to them. But they are all ways true!! This app is terrible!!!! If you don’t pay for the full version you won’t get any of the good filters. The only ones you get are two of the ones on your phone. I went through all the reviews and they were all one star and there was ONE that was five stars!!!! DON’T GET THIS!! I would give it no stars but you have to give it one or none.

3 Day Trial. This app charged me 89$ for a plus account when it was supposed to be a 3 day trial then $7.99 after that. Didn’t even get a chance to use the app because as soon as I clicked 3 day trial I got a notification that my account was charged 89$ for a year subscription. I unsubscribed immediately but the money was still taken out of my account. Tried contacting app support but can’t seem to reach anyone.

Umm. I came because I saw an ad on another app, and it showed that you can make your pictures cartoons. So I got it to make some cool photos. What the ad did not say was that you had to pay for it. Then on your responses to other reviews you told people that there is still stuff to do without paying. That is true, but the only things you can do are make a comic page or do the pictures with dates at the top. I can’t do anything your ads said I could do. Also, it would be a good idea to make the app in full screen instead of a tiny square. I dont know if thats for everyone, but its very annoying. Besides that, the app is pretty good. Why??. When I was on games, I saw this app all of the time. I loved the app. But one day I went to the App Store an I saw some reviews. They were not good reviews. Some said that you had to pay and this app is trash. So I down loaded the app to see if the reviews were true. And they were, it said you had to pay for it. So I’m saying that maybe the owners should update this and not make people pay. So if your reading this then dont get the app! Thank you!

Don’t download. So I downloaded this app under the impression that it was free and now I am under a subscription I can’t get out of due to deleting the app. I do not have another card to add to me account and if I add money to my current account I’m worried it will try and take my money. She’s to not being able to have a card in my account now I can’t download any apps at all. Been dealing with this for months

It’s okay. When I first joined I was pretty excited! But everything that I came here to get cost real life money. It’s okay but I wouldn’t recommend it but if you want to spend 70 dollars a year just to cartoon yourself and edit photos but with your main camera app you can already practically edit the same way then get it

This app is complete garbage, I opened it after downloading and was immediately bombarded with payment per month options before I even opened anything, and after exiting that I tried to try out the photo editor and was not so shocked to find out you have to pay at least a weekly $7.99 fee just to edit a photo. Ridiculousness aside, I deleted it about 30 seconds after getting it, DONT GET THIS APP

Scam! Developers should be ashamed.. When you are prompted with a 3 day free trial and immediately get hit for a 89$ year subscription. How is that? Because they set up for you to agree to the year subscription, not the free trial! Tons of reviews share the same experience. Hoping the developers refund, but if not I at least know an Apple regional manager that may be a resource to rectify the situation. Never have dealt with this for any previous app trials or purchases. Such a shame.

Got tricked into buying $90/year subscription. This app tricked me into unknowingly buying some subscription that costs $90 a year as soon as I started the app. This is the first time I got scammed in 15 years of using Apple products. Do not even try this app. From what I have seen it is not worth even $2. Apple: do your customers a favor and ban this app and the developer. They are more into scamming people than selling a legit product.

Does not look like a drawing.. A lot of attention is paid in these reviews to the pricing, but more importantly this app does NOT make photos into cartoons. I was super excited about this app even at the terrifying price of 70 dollars a year. Ran a well lit photo through it and to my surprise it did not come out looking like a line drawing, it just flattened out some areas and seemingly that was it. Excellent idea, but it does not work on any level. This app is a SCAM.

Did not want to purchase. I downloaded the application to try it out, and right away it took me to the monthly payment page, and as I realized it was taking my payment, the phone had already taken my Face ID and charged me... I don’t want this application. The one picture I uploaded to try out took me immediately to pay a monthly fee... the edit of the picture wasn’t even as the application advertises... I want my money back!!!

Horrible App. I “unlocked” the paid version (NOT inexpensive!) & most of the filters still did not work. As a former systems engineer with tons of IT experience, this app is SORELY LACKING. You can get free apps that do the same thing & what this app “supposedly” does is disappointing. I would give O stars if I could. Thankfully, I could cancel my subscription immediately. If I got stuck paying for this useless app I would surely dispute the charges.
